- 0:16Speaker 1: Come over here, hot May? Is that pet patison you
- 0:20Speaker 1: have legs?
- 0:21Speaker 2: The weekend I was ninety nine percent positive it was
- 0:25Speaker 2: just chessed up. Now I have been begging him for
- 0:27Speaker 2: a job on every every platform I can, and I
- 0:30Speaker 2: would have know the reason why you won't part.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Happy Memorial Day weekend, A very wet Memorial Day weekend
- 0:38Speaker 1: here in New York. This is episode nine to sixty
- 0:41Speaker 1: four of The Solo Monster Sounds Off for Sunday, May
- 0:44Speaker 1: twenty fourth, twenty twenty six. I am the Solo Monster.
- 0:48Speaker 1: What a win for the Knison Game one of the
- 0:51Speaker 1: Eastern Conference Finals, coming back in the fourth quarter from
- 0:53Speaker 1: twenty two points down against the Cabs. And they wrecked
- 0:57Speaker 1: the Cabs in Game two and beat them again last
- 1:00Speaker 1: night to go up three to zero in the series.
- 1:02Speaker 1: This is all after the team had been cursed by
- 1:06Speaker 1: Dan Housen a few weeks ago and then uncursed by
- 1:09Speaker 1: Dan Housen, and they have been on a ten and
- 1:12Speaker 1: zero run since they're undefeated. The curse. The curse is real.
- 1:18Speaker 1: But look at Dan Housen becoming a celebrity. He's popping
- 1:20Speaker 1: up on ESPN. He's courtside in Madison Square Garden, number
- 1:24Speaker 1: two merch seller in the entire company. They just released
- 1:28Speaker 1: an official Dan Housen New York Knicks you Are Uncursed
- 1:31Speaker 1: t shirt on WWE Shop. I have an entire Dan
- 1:35Speaker 1: Housen Knicks collection on there. His ascent in just ninety days.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Think about it, It's only been ninety days that he's
- 1:40Speaker 1: even been in the company has been insane, but good
- 1:43Speaker 1: for him. I'm happy for the guy. We got double
- 1:46Speaker 1: or nothing coming up tonight. We're going to talk about that.
- 1:48Speaker 1: We got some other news and notes, and because I
- 1:50Speaker 1: was not live last night, I'll give you my thoughts
- 1:52Speaker 1: on Saturday Night's main event, and then I'll get you
- 1:55Speaker 1: out of here because we got a pay per view
- 1:56Speaker 1: to get ready for it. Tonight, I will be live
- 1:58Speaker 1: on YouTube. If you would like to support the show
- 2:01Speaker 1: make a PayPal donation, you may do so on the
- 2:03Speaker 1: Solomonster dot com, as many people did this week. I
- 2:07Speaker 1: very much appreciate that ten dollars or more we'll get
- 2:09Speaker 1: you a nickname and a shout out like these fine folks. Actually,
- 2:12Speaker 1: I want to wish a very happy early birthday to
- 2:16Speaker 1: Rachel from the Badger State. Thank you again for the
- 2:20Speaker 1: mega support this week. I hope you enjoy the long weekend.
- 2:22Speaker 1: I hope you have nicer weather than we have here.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Madman Mike Weeks just showing some love. He says he
- 2:29Speaker 1: never misses a sound uff, live stream or uncrowned episode.
- 2:34Speaker 1: He also bought the kindle version of Hardy the Horse
- 2:37Speaker 1: and plans on buying the hardcover version to donate to
- 2:41Speaker 1: his kid's former preschool. I love hearing that very much.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Appreciate that. All the love for Hardy the Horse, which
- 2:48Speaker 1: is available, by the way on Amazon dot com. The
- 2:50Speaker 1: Adventurer of Hardy the Horse, The Portland pop star Paul Hamilton,
- 2:54Speaker 1: Thank you, brother, Big b Bryant, Visera the Diamond, Dallas
- 2:57Speaker 1: Dance Machine, Harrison Soep, Velvet Revolver, Robert Murray, Big Time,
- 3:02Speaker 1: Boris Weinman, The Chicago Slayer, Willie Aicherd, Knight Stalker and
- 3:07Speaker 1: if Alsafar Killshot, Keith Hart, Big Homie, John Burton, Go Nix,
- 3:14Speaker 1: Go Nix. Indeed have a great holiday brother, bad ass
- 3:18Speaker 1: Bernard Frederick, who would like to shout out his wife
- 3:20Speaker 1: Tammy for giving him the best twenty six years of
- 3:23Speaker 1: wedded bliss, and he looks forward to another twenty six
- 3:26Speaker 1: years to come. God willing, I wish the same for
- 3:28Speaker 1: both of you. The House of Glory held its Waging
- 3:32Speaker 1: War event on Friday Night at the NYC Arena. He
- 3:35Speaker 1: sold out NYC Arena in Queens, where aw will be
- 3:39Speaker 1: tonight on the Call with JD from New York and
- 3:42Speaker 1: Johnny Torres. Always good times, but a little bit busier
- 3:46Speaker 1: than that. I wasn't expecting to find myself sitting in
- 3:49Speaker 1: the back of an ambulance with Shatzi. It was one
- 3:52Speaker 1: of those nights. If you saw the show, you know,
- 3:55Speaker 1: Amazing Red and Kevin Knight, they killed it. Joey Silver,
- 3:59Speaker 1: he's been a fan favorite in Hog for many, many
- 4:03Speaker 1: years now. He got a shot at Charles Mason in
- 4:05Speaker 1: the Hog World Championship. So not the marquee match perhaps
- 4:10Speaker 1: like some of the other challengers that we've brought in,
- 4:12Speaker 1: but I'm going to tell you right now that match
- 4:15Speaker 1: brought down the house like no other that I have
- 4:17Speaker 1: seen in that building since Mason won that belt almost
- 4:20Speaker 1: one year ago. That building was rumbling. I mean, they
- 4:24Speaker 1: wanted so badly to see Joey win that title. And
- 4:27Speaker 1: it's those moments that are just the coolest to me
- 4:30Speaker 1: because it's easy to bring in a big name talent
- 4:32Speaker 1: who wants to work hog right, bring him in from
- 4:34Speaker 1: aw bring him in from TNA, bring him in from
- 4:37Speaker 1: New Japan. But when you've got that homegrown name that
- 4:40Speaker 1: the fans can invest in and they can rally around
- 4:43Speaker 1: like that, that's what makes it all worthwhile. So kudos
- 4:47Speaker 1: to him, and look, kudos to Mason as well, because
- 4:49Speaker 1: there's a lot of people that you know, buy a ticket,
- 4:52Speaker 1: they come to the show, and they want to see
- 4:53Speaker 1: him get beat and lose that belt, and nobody's been
- 4:56Speaker 1: able to do it. So it just made for a
- 4:58Speaker 1: sort of the perfect storm on Friday night. But that
- 5:00Speaker 1: match right now is up on the House of Glory
- 5:02Speaker 1: YouTube channel, so don't just take my word for it.
- 5:05Speaker 1: You can go see for yourself and let him know
- 5:08Speaker 1: that Solo Monster sent you. Matt and Jeff Hardy still
- 5:12Speaker 1: your hog Tag team champions. It was good to catch
- 5:15Speaker 1: up with them a bit after the show. Just a
- 5:17Speaker 1: fun night, a fun night, and next up, we're back
- 5:20Speaker 1: in Chicago Friday night, June nineteenth for Inferno. Already signed,
- 5:25Speaker 1: Shatzi will defend her women's championship against Steph Delander, and
- 5:30Speaker 1: Ricky Sosa is scheduled to make his HOG debut. We
- 5:33Speaker 1: were hoping to have him on the show on Friday
- 5:36Speaker 1: as well as even in Las Vegas, but he's just
- 5:40Speaker 1: waiting on his visa situation to be resolved. It's a
- 5:42Speaker 1: very slow moving situation. We have not seen him in
- 5:46Speaker 1: a T and A ring since the beginning of March,
- 5:50Speaker 1: and it really sucks how long it takes to get
- 5:52Speaker 1: these things resolved. But fingers crossed hopefully all gets worked
- 5:55Speaker 1: out shortly and he'll be able to join us and
- 5:57Speaker 1: you will too. Hog Wrestling dot nex for tickets. The
- 6:02Speaker 1: Manx Warner situation on Friday night was a bit of
- 6:05Speaker 1: a weird one. He was scheduled to work the AAW
- 6:09Speaker 1: show in Marionette Park, Illinois, and he was pulled from
- 6:12Speaker 1: the show at the last minute. And this is what
- 6:14Speaker 1: they said, is what the promotion said. Manz Warner will
- 6:18Speaker 1: unfortunately not be appearing at AAW homecoming per aw's request.
- 6:24Speaker 1: We are immediately restructuring the show accordingly and will announce
- 6:27Speaker 1: updates as soon as possible. Well, this was news to
- 6:30Speaker 1: Tony Kahn, who tweeted, that's the first I've heard of this,
- 6:35Speaker 1: and it's the first time anyone in aw's office has
- 6:37Speaker 1: heard of it. He is welcome to do your show.
- 6:40Speaker 1: And I was confused by all of this because the
- 6:43Speaker 1: last time Manz Warner even wrestled for AAW, you'd have
- 6:46Speaker 1: to go back four years for a match against John Moxley.
- 6:51Speaker 1: But he has done some Ring of Honor matches over
- 6:53Speaker 1: the past month or so, so I don't know if
- 6:54Speaker 1: he's signed with them, or if he had some sort
- 6:57Speaker 1: of per appearance deal there. I guess that would be
- 7:00Speaker 1: the tie in. But in any event, AW had nothing
- 7:04Speaker 1: to do with any of this or else they would
- 7:05Speaker 1: absolutely deserve the criticism for pulling him at the last minute.
- 7:09Speaker 1: But Warner himself clarified later on. He said, AW did
- 7:13Speaker 1: not ask me to pull out of this show. My
- 7:14Speaker 1: rate was never agreed upon. I sent four hundred dollars
- 7:18Speaker 1: to the promoter to cover the flight costs. I am
- 7:20Speaker 1: sorry to any fans who were looking forward to seeing
- 7:23Speaker 1: me at AAW. With transparency, I made a decision to
- 7:26Speaker 1: withdraw from the show to avoid any chance of travel
- 7:29Speaker 1: issues or any fuck ups ruining a big opportunity. I
- 7:33Speaker 1: hope y'all can understand. So just a very weird deal.
- 7:37Speaker 1: I don't know why AAW would say that AW pulled
- 7:41Speaker 1: him if Warner himself is saying that they had nothing
- 7:43Speaker 1: to do with it, Like, where did that even come from?
- 7:47Speaker 1: So that blew up on social media for a few
- 7:49Speaker 1: hours on Friday, but all seems to have been resolved.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Speaking of AAW, let's start there this week because they
- 7:57Speaker 1: do have a pay per view tonight, and not to
- 7:59Speaker 1: bring the mood down, but I saw the update on
- 8:02Speaker 1: Jim Ross this week, and it just sucks, man, it
- 8:06Speaker 1: just really sucks. He's doing great physically, he's feeling as
- 8:09Speaker 1: good as he's felt in a long while, and he
- 8:12Speaker 1: is set to be on commentary for I can't imagine
- 8:14Speaker 1: the entire show, but he'll be on commentary for some
- 8:16Speaker 1: of the matches tonight, maybe the main event at double
- 8:19Speaker 1: or nothing. But he revealed on his Grilling Jr. Podcast
- 8:22Speaker 1: this week that his doctors are concerned about possible dementia
- 8:27Speaker 1: or Alzheimer's disease and he is undergoing tests for both.
- 8:31Speaker 1: He was talking about Mick Foley coming to aw which
- 8:35Speaker 1: I'll do in a minute here, and he said this,
- 8:38Speaker 1: I don't know how much he wants to work. And
- 8:40Speaker 1: if you look at other guys myself included, we're used
- 8:43Speaker 1: to or we're used on a limited basis, and that
- 8:46Speaker 1: keeps me, in this case fresher and gives me a
- 8:49Speaker 1: chance to continue to get my ailments addressed. I had
- 8:52Speaker 1: a very positive doctor's appointment with my neurologist. Everybody's getting
- 8:56Speaker 1: in on the act man. So the neurologist and I
- 8:58Speaker 1: had an appointment and they took a bunch of blood
- 9:00Speaker 1: and ransom tests. You know, I think they're worried about
- 9:04Speaker 1: dementia or Alzheimer's. And I said, what the hell are
- 9:07Speaker 1: you going to do about it? There's no cure. Its
- 9:10Speaker 1: basically what he was saying.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Here.
- 9:11Speaker 1: He goes, it's not a cure. He goes, you know,
- 9:14Speaker 1: if there's meds that I could be taking preventatively, tell
- 9:16Speaker 1: me what they are and I'll do it. We'll see
- 9:18Speaker 1: how it works out. I'm going through a lot of
- 9:20Speaker 1: tests now. I don't feel bad at all. I feel
- 9:23Speaker 1: great actually, But you know, Conrad let me tell you something, Buddy,
- 9:26Speaker 1: getting old is a bitch. Getting old is indeed a bitch.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Mother nature is a bitch, and Father Time is an asshole.
- 9:36Speaker 1: The perfect couple, but Jr. Is the greatest of all
- 9:40Speaker 1: time to ever do it on headset when it comes
- 9:42Speaker 1: to pro wrestling, I don't care what anybody says. Gorilla
- 9:45Speaker 1: Monson and Bobby heenan for my money. Top announced duo
- 9:48Speaker 1: Monsoon and Jesse Vince are number two. Those are my
- 9:51Speaker 1: goat announced combos Jr. And King. They're up there as well,
- 9:55Speaker 1: Vince and Jesse. But as an individual, Jim Ross is
- 9:58Speaker 1: the greatest wrestling announcer of all time, and he may
- 10:02Speaker 1: not be what he used to be, which none of
- 10:06Speaker 1: us are. When you get into your seventies and your eighties,
- 10:08Speaker 1: I know he's in his early seventies. I believe seventy two,
- 10:10Speaker 1: seventy four, somewhere in that range. So I mean he's
- 10:13Speaker 1: a lot older, He's had a lot of health issues.
- 10:16Speaker 1: It's not prime Jr. Anymore. But when he pops up
- 10:19Speaker 1: on those aw pay per views where you can tell
- 10:21Speaker 1: he's on his a game, he's having a good night, right,
- 10:24Speaker 1: he's having a good day. He still has something to
- 10:26Speaker 1: contribute for a special match here and there, and I'm
- 10:29Speaker 1: glad they give him the opportunity to do so because
- 10:32Speaker 1: he's been through the ringer when it comes to his health.
- 10:34Speaker 1: I mean three or four different bouts of Bell's palsy
- 10:37Speaker 1: that never resolved. You know, in most cases it does
- 10:41Speaker 1: go away after a while. It never did with Jr.
- 10:45Speaker 1: And as a broadcaster, as someone who was on television
- 10:48Speaker 1: for a living, that's gotta be hell. That's like I
- 10:52Speaker 1: remember when Bobby Heenen was first diagnosed with throat cancer,
- 10:55Speaker 1: and I'm like, what a cruel twist of fate for
- 10:58Speaker 1: somebody who made a list, who made his bones on
- 11:02Speaker 1: the microphone, whether it was as a manager, cutting promos
- 11:06Speaker 1: or as an announcer. This man used his voice, right,
- 11:09Speaker 1: He used his voice to communicate. It was what he
- 11:12Speaker 1: did for a living. And obviously all the convention appearances
- 11:16Speaker 1: and whatnot, and of all ailments, of all things to
- 11:18Speaker 1: be stricken down with. And not that it's the worst.
- 11:21Speaker 1: I mean, there's obviously a gazillion terrible, horrible illnesses out
- 11:25Speaker 1: there that you could be afflicted with. But for it
- 11:27Speaker 1: to be throat cancer, I always thought that was just
- 11:30Speaker 1: a particularly cruel twist of fate for him, but again
- 11:34Speaker 1: for Jim Ross. Look, when he was first afflicted with
- 11:37Speaker 1: Bell's palsy the first time in nineteen ninety four, Vince
- 11:42Speaker 1: McMahon fired him. The reason Vince fired him in ninety
- 11:45Speaker 1: four and got rid of him, he didn't want somebody
- 11:47Speaker 1: with Bell's polsy on his TV shows looking like that.
- 11:50Speaker 1: And only later that year, when the steroid trial hit
- 11:53Speaker 1: and Vince had to go away for a little bit
- 11:54Speaker 1: and he was dealing with that, did they bring Jr.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Back to fill in. And then he parlayed that into
- 12:00Speaker 1: a much longer career in the company and made a
- 12:02Speaker 1: lot of money. But from that to the perforated colon
- 12:06Speaker 1: he had surgery for in two thousand and five that
- 12:08Speaker 1: almost killed him. That's where we got the doctor heine
- 12:11Speaker 1: skit on raw, you know, which I know he's talked about,
- 12:15Speaker 1: was very hurtful to him and his family. So from
- 12:19Speaker 1: that to being diagnosed with skin cancer and then colon
- 12:21Speaker 1: cancer last year, all the falls that he's taken. You know,
- 12:26Speaker 1: he's talked about, how many times has this guy fallen
- 12:28Speaker 1: at home? You know? I would see clips of him
- 12:30Speaker 1: on his podcast sometimes Big Black Eye am like, who
- 12:32Speaker 1: beat up JR? It's like, nope, he fell again at home.
- 12:36Speaker 1: So that's happened a bunch of times. And now this,
- 12:40Speaker 1: I mean, it's a lot for one person. And I
- 12:42Speaker 1: know he lives alone. You know his wife was killed
- 12:45Speaker 1: in a scooter accident. I'm sure that doesn't make it
- 12:48Speaker 1: any easier. Hopefully those tests come back negative. But if
- 12:52Speaker 1: they suspect something may be wrong cognitively, I'm sure there's
- 12:56Speaker 1: some reason for it. I just you know, I wish JR.
- 12:58Speaker 1: All the best. Dementia of any kind is a horrible,
- 13:02Speaker 1: horrible disease and it's a terrible way to go out.
- 13:04Speaker 1: And hopefully that's not what this is. But tonight AW
- 13:09Speaker 1: brings its double or Nothing pay per view to Louis
- 13:12Speaker 1: Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York, with a sold out
- 13:16Speaker 1: crowd of over fourteen thousand in attendance and a familiar
- 13:20Speaker 1: face on the pre show with Renee Piquett, and that
- 13:23Speaker 1: is Mick Foley. The rumors were true. John Alba of
- 13:26Speaker 1: Sports Illustrated broke the story last week about there being
- 13:30Speaker 1: AW interest in bringing in Foley. I suspect his WWE
- 13:35Speaker 1: Legends deal was either up sooner than expected, because he
- 13:38Speaker 1: himself had said June or it never excluded him from
- 13:42Speaker 1: working with other promotions to begin with. The legend stuff
- 13:45Speaker 1: is a little fuzzy to me. I think Mark Henry
- 13:47Speaker 1: has talked about there being two different types of deals.
- 13:50Speaker 1: It's like a proper Legends deal and then a nostalgia deal,
- 13:53Speaker 1: which is less restrictive. But Foley had a Legends deal,
- 13:57Speaker 1: or has one. You know, Brett Hart, he appeared at
- 14:00Speaker 1: the first Double or Nothing, which was in Las Vegas
- 14:03Speaker 1: a month after he got attacked at the WWE Hall
- 14:06Speaker 1: of Fame. But he was a Double or Nothing and then,
- 14:09Speaker 1: you know, promptly fell off the stage. I was in
- 14:13Speaker 1: the building for that one. I didn't see him fall.
- 14:16Speaker 1: I know it was a big deal because people like,
- 14:18Speaker 1: I'm in the crowd, and then people start talking about
- 14:21Speaker 1: it a little later, like, oh Brett fell and I'm like,
- 14:22Speaker 1: what the fucking guy fell off the stage as he
- 14:25Speaker 1: was walking back from that segment because they had him,
- 14:28Speaker 1: you know, kind of introduced the brand new aw Championship
- 14:31Speaker 1: belt that night. But yeah, he fell off the stage
- 14:34Speaker 1: and thankfully he was okay. But anyway, I don't recall
- 14:37Speaker 1: if he was under a Legends deal Brett was at
- 14:40Speaker 1: that time. I feel like Brett signed a Legends deal
- 14:42Speaker 1: later on. But like for example, Jake the Snake Roberts,
- 14:46Speaker 1: he is under a WWE Legends deal and he is
- 14:48Speaker 1: signed to an AW contract. So I guess for at
- 14:52Speaker 1: least some of these guys it would not prevent them
- 14:54Speaker 1: from signing elsewhere. Only the WWE might frown upon it.
- 14:58Speaker 1: But maybe that's it. You know, Folly doesn't give a
- 15:01Speaker 1: shit anymore. He wants nothing to do with them for
- 15:04Speaker 1: the time being. Foley will join Renee as the hosts
- 15:08Speaker 1: of the Buy In pre show, which starts at seven
- 15:10Speaker 1: pm Eastern tonight. It's the buy In, not Zero Hour,
- 15:14Speaker 1: because it's always been the buy in for Double or Nothing,
- 15:18Speaker 1: So we're going from mister Soko to mister Siko with
- 15:21Speaker 1: mcfoley and Tony Khm was asked about Foley's role in
- 15:24Speaker 1: AW on Thursday's Double or Nothing media call and whether
- 15:27Speaker 1: or not it would be a case where we would
- 15:29Speaker 1: see him wrestling in AAW and this is what Tony said.
- 15:33Speaker 1: He goes, I can't speak for mcfoley as to whether
- 15:35Speaker 1: he would want to wrestle or if he's going to
- 15:37Speaker 1: wrestle anytime soon. But if he ever does, I would
- 15:40Speaker 1: love for him to do it in AW, but I
- 15:42Speaker 1: also don't want to put him in a situation in
- 15:44Speaker 1: which he'll feel uncomfortable. I want him to feel good
- 15:46Speaker 1: about this, and I know he's taken so many big
- 15:48Speaker 1: hits and had such an amazing career with so many
- 15:51Speaker 1: spectacular moments. Physically, I would only ever ask him to
- 15:55Speaker 1: wrestle if he fell up to it, and that he
- 15:58Speaker 1: could live up to the physical demand. The fact that
- 16:01Speaker 1: he's even open to fully wrestling is giving me anxiety
- 16:06Speaker 1: because you know that Foley is gonna want to wrestle
- 16:09Speaker 1: Like this is almost not a doubt in my mind
- 16:11Speaker 1: that if Mick Foley is signed, or will signed, or
- 16:13Speaker 1: is gonna have some sort of long standing relationship with AW,
- 16:17Speaker 1: he will absolutely, one hundred percent end up doing at
- 16:19Speaker 1: least one match at some point, and I can only
- 16:22Speaker 1: hope that they take whatever precautions they can. I mean,
- 16:26Speaker 1: I'm not saying it would be cinematic, but again, like he's,
- 16:30Speaker 1: as Tony said, like he's taken so many, so many
- 16:33Speaker 1: bumps and all things. Consider it. Quite frankly, I'm shocked
- 16:37Speaker 1: that he is in as good of a shape and
- 16:40Speaker 1: condition as he is in at this point cognitively and otherwise.
- 16:45Speaker 1: But when he was talking about training to do one
- 16:48Speaker 1: more deathmatch for his sixtieth birthday and then said well
- 16:51Speaker 1: I'm pulling out, I was like, Wow, Well, if he's
- 16:53Speaker 1: pulling out, then that must be something bad. Yeah, because
- 16:57Speaker 1: he got concustant. He didn't he didn't even know how.
- 17:00Speaker 1: It was some light training he was doing. And you
- 17:02Speaker 1: want to put him in there for a match and
- 17:03Speaker 1: not expect him to take some kind of big, ridiculous bump.
- 17:07Speaker 1: In a company where Darby Allen is doing all of
- 17:09Speaker 1: this insane shit, and a company where John Moxley is
- 17:12Speaker 1: like the Deathmatch King, He's going to be hanging around
- 17:15Speaker 1: these guys, and you don't think that he's not going
- 17:18Speaker 1: to get the itch to do a match with one
- 17:20Speaker 1: of them, or MJF or somebody at some point. SA
- 17:23Speaker 1: I mean, give me a break, fucking Darby head sting
- 17:27Speaker 1: doing balcony dives. It's only a matter of time. He
- 17:31Speaker 1: did say that Foley will be an on air host
- 17:34Speaker 1: that pay per views and might make some TV appearances.
- 17:36Speaker 1: He might be a brand ambassador of sorts for them,
- 17:39Speaker 1: which I think would be a great role for him.
- 17:42Speaker 1: But also on that call, Brandon Thurston asked Tony a
- 17:46Speaker 1: very simple question, is AW profitable. They're not a publicly
- 17:51Speaker 1: traded company. We don't have an actual answer to this question.
- 17:55Speaker 1: It's been asked before. Is AW profitable? This was Tony's answer.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Our revenue is the highest it's ever been. I can't
- 18:04Speaker 1: comment on where we stand in terms of every expense
- 18:06Speaker 1: year to year. Certainly this is going to be the
- 18:09Speaker 1: most revenue we've ever generated in the strongest financial outlook
- 18:12Speaker 1: for the company ever. I'm reinvesting in a number of projects,
- 18:15Speaker 1: including digital projects, to grow the company for the future.
- 18:19Speaker 1: As far as how it's accounted, I don't have all
- 18:21Speaker 1: the figures in front of me, but I can say
- 18:23Speaker 1: it's by far the most revenue that we've brought in
- 18:25Speaker 1: and the future is the healthiest outlook. I'll continue to
- 18:29Speaker 1: reinvest in the business, developing new platforms and trying to
- 18:32Speaker 1: open up new territories to grow the company. We're launching
- 18:35Speaker 1: some new projects and some international developments that will require
- 18:38Speaker 1: investment that I think are smart moves. We are strongly
- 18:42Speaker 1: positioned for the future of AAW. Now is the perfect
- 18:44Speaker 1: time for me to double down on aaw because we're
- 18:47Speaker 1: going to be around for a very, very long time.
- 18:51Speaker 1: And that is a really long way of saying, no,
- 18:54Speaker 1: the company is not profitable. But as long as he's
- 18:57Speaker 1: got the capital to continue investing in it, and he
- 19:01Speaker 1: said it in the quote, he said, I am continuing
- 19:03Speaker 1: to reinvest. I feel it's in the best interest of
- 19:06Speaker 1: the company. We have to keep growing and to do
- 19:09Speaker 1: that you need money, So you got to keep reinvesting.
- 19:12Speaker 1: If he's got the and again he's a billionaire, it
- 19:14Speaker 1: comes from a billionaire family. If he has the capital
- 19:17Speaker 1: to continue investing in it and he doesn't mind taking
- 19:20Speaker 1: a loss, then it doesn't really matter. But no, they
- 19:24Speaker 1: are not profitable, because if they were, again he would
- 19:27Speaker 1: say yes or he would be screaming it from the
- 19:29Speaker 1: highest rooftop. But I just laugh like he gives this
- 19:32Speaker 1: long answer and it sounds great, but the short of
- 19:36Speaker 1: it is no, to answer Brandon's question, the company is
- 19:39Speaker 1: not profitable and the company will be around for a
- 19:42Speaker 1: long time as long as he continues to invest in
- 19:44Speaker 1: the way that he has. The big caveat is unless
- 19:48Speaker 1: they lose their television deal. And if that's six hundred
- 19:51Speaker 1: million dollar Warner Brothers Discovery soon to be Paramount Skydance
- 19:55Speaker 1: deal disappears, I don't see how they can continue operating
- 20:00Speaker 1: their current levels without making cuts. I just don't see it.
- 20:04Speaker 1: I don't see how that's possible. So they'll be around.
- 20:08Speaker 1: One thing Tony's been resistant to are these mass cuts
- 20:10Speaker 1: in the way the WWE has done over the years.
- 20:14Speaker 1: But I just again, if that deal were to go away,
- 20:17Speaker 1: it would be very difficult for me to imagine that
- 20:19Speaker 1: there aren't some changes that have to be made in
- 20:21Speaker 1: some sacrifices that have to be made. You know, if
- 20:25Speaker 1: they're making more money now than they ever have before,
- 20:27Speaker 1: though that's good. You want to go up, you don't
- 20:28Speaker 1: want to go down. And on the possibility of all
- 20:33Speaker 1: In returning to Wembley Stadium in twenty twenty seven, he
- 20:37Speaker 1: said he has not decided yet on a location for
- 20:39Speaker 1: next year's all In, but twenty twenty seven will be
- 20:41Speaker 1: another big year for aw and he plans to take
- 20:44Speaker 1: some big swings. I don't know if big swings is
- 20:49Speaker 1: a nod to anything specific, like a baseball stadium show,
- 20:54Speaker 1: but I'm still hoping he takes advantage of WWE taking
- 20:58Speaker 1: WrestleMania out of the country to Saudi Irab next year,
- 21:01Speaker 1: and that he hosts a big wrestling week with Wrestle
- 21:05Speaker 1: Khan and all the other events, piggybacking off it the
- 21:07Speaker 1: way they typically do wrestle Media, like do it in
- 21:10Speaker 1: New Orleans, do it wherever. Really, but I think it's
- 21:13Speaker 1: a big missed opportunity not to do something and kind
- 21:16Speaker 1: of be the face of it and be the leader
- 21:18Speaker 1: of it around wrestle media time. It shouldn't be the
- 21:21Speaker 1: weekend of wrestle Media, but somewhere around March or April,
- 21:24Speaker 1: give wrestling fans a reason to fly in and congregate
- 21:28Speaker 1: for a big wrestling weekend somewhere Stateside, like a big
- 21:32Speaker 1: wrestling festival wrestle Fest. If the name wasn't already taken,
- 21:37Speaker 1: that'd be the perfect name for it. Let's run down
- 21:40Speaker 1: this double or Nothing card. As I said last week.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Of course, there were more matches announced since I last
- 21:46Speaker 1: talked about this, mainly on the Bay in pre show,
- 21:49Speaker 1: so we'll start there. They've added a trios match with
- 21:54Speaker 1: the Death Riders Claudio Castignoli, Daniel Garcia and Wheeler da
- 21:58Speaker 1: taking on the Ops Hook Kattiori Shabata and Anthony Bowens,
- 22:03Speaker 1: the newest member of the Ops. Bowens just joined. They
- 22:08Speaker 1: have Samoa Joe on the main card in an owen
- 22:10Speaker 1: Hart tournament match that he is absolutely not going to win.
- 22:14Speaker 1: This really needs to be a win for the OPS.
- 22:18Speaker 1: You know, Hopefully they didn't just add Bowens to the
- 22:20Speaker 1: group to be the to be to the Ops what
- 22:22Speaker 1: Austin Theory is to the Vision. You know, typically the
- 22:25Speaker 1: fall game, mainly in singles matches, Theory is typically the
- 22:29Speaker 1: fall guy in those situations. Hopefully that's not the only
- 22:31Speaker 1: reason they put Bowen's in this group, But I just
- 22:34Speaker 1: feel like, especially if Joe is losing on the main cards,
- 22:36Speaker 1: you got to at least give the OPS a win here.
- 22:38Speaker 1: So I'm going to go with them for the win.
- 22:40Speaker 1: We have Orange Cassidy, Mark Briscoe, Roderick Strong, Big Boom
- 22:44Speaker 1: aj is back. He's the pre show king here in
- 22:47Speaker 1: AW and QT Marshall. They're going to be taking on
- 22:51Speaker 1: Anthony A go go who I gotta tell you, I
- 22:53Speaker 1: didn't even realize he was still employed by AW. If
- 22:58Speaker 1: you want a perfect example of Tony KHN doesn't like
- 23:00Speaker 1: making cuts the way the WWE does. The fact that
- 23:04Speaker 1: Anthony Aggo is still there, I think says it all
- 23:07Speaker 1: because I can't remember the last time I saw him
- 23:08Speaker 1: on Dynamite. But Anthony Aggo, Lee Moriarty, Charlie Bravo, Sean
- 23:15Speaker 1: Dean and Shane Taylor, I'm going with the conglomeration for
- 23:20Speaker 1: the win and Big whatever team Big Bloom Aj is on,
- 23:23Speaker 1: he will win and also on the buy. In the
- 23:26Speaker 1: women's tag team champions Divine Dominion, Megan Bain and Lena
- 23:31Speaker 1: Cross just picked up a win again Shatzi at the
- 23:34Speaker 1: Hog Show the other night. They take on Viva Van
- 23:37Speaker 1: and Zeta Steele. Is a five minute championship eliminator match
- 23:42Speaker 1: and this will be easy work, I think for Divine Dominion.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Then we get to the main card owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
- 23:49Speaker 1: We got three matches, although there is a change to
- 23:52Speaker 1: one of these matches, Samoa Joe against will Ospray. This
- 23:55Speaker 1: is going to be a win for will Osprey. There's
- 23:57Speaker 1: just there's no other way for this to go. Swarve
- 24:01Speaker 1: Strickland is gonna go against Bandido. At least in that
- 24:03Speaker 1: match there is at least a chance we could get
- 24:05Speaker 1: a shock win for Bandido because I do think it
- 24:08Speaker 1: would be a shock if he went over here, but
- 24:10Speaker 1: it's not impossible. I feel like Tony likes to throw
- 24:13Speaker 1: a surprise into these tournaments as often as possible. I
- 24:18Speaker 1: could see it here. I'm gonna stick with Swerve. I
- 24:22Speaker 1: still feel like the destination for Forbidden Door is a
- 24:26Speaker 1: rematch between Osprey and Swerve, only this time Osprey goes over.
- 24:29Speaker 1: That's where I think this is all heading. So I'll
- 24:32Speaker 1: go with Swerve. But then we had a change in
- 24:35Speaker 1: the one women's Owen Hart match that was scheduled for
- 24:37Speaker 1: this pay per view, Willow Nightingale was supposed to step
- 24:41Speaker 1: into the ring with Alex Windsor. Now Willow Nightingale is
- 24:45Speaker 1: Or was the TBS champion. She appeared in a backstage
- 24:49Speaker 1: segment on Dynamite Wednesday night to make the announcement that
- 24:52Speaker 1: she suffered a right shoulder injury in her collision match
- 24:56Speaker 1: last week with Red Velvet, and it's serious enough that
- 24:59Speaker 1: she has been pulled from the Owen which is tough
- 25:01Speaker 1: for her. I think she's from Long Island, so this
- 25:04Speaker 1: was almost going to be kind of like a homecoming
- 25:06Speaker 1: for her back in New York, and her family was
- 25:09Speaker 1: going to be there's gonna be a big night for her.
- 25:11Speaker 1: She has been pulled from the Owen and she's been
- 25:14Speaker 1: forced to vacate her TBS championship after one hundred and
- 25:17Speaker 1: forty days. She was the woman to finally bring down
- 25:21Speaker 1: Mercedes Monet and win that TBS title on New Year's Eve,
- 25:24Speaker 1: and she's had the title ever since, and it sucks
- 25:27Speaker 1: that this run now comes to an end like this,
- 25:30Speaker 1: just with a whimper. Alex Windsor will now wrestle a
- 25:34Speaker 1: wildcard entrant, but not on this show tonight. Instead, they're
- 25:37Speaker 1: gonna have the Athena Mina Shirakawa match tonight. And my
- 25:41Speaker 1: initial sense was, oh, well, there's going to be a
- 25:43Speaker 1: wildcard entry in this tournament. What a great opportunity to
- 25:46Speaker 1: slot Mercedes Monet back in there. My gut tells me
- 25:50Speaker 1: it's not going to be her. It's not going to
- 25:52Speaker 1: be her, because if it was going to be her,
- 25:54Speaker 1: then I don't know why you would not have that
- 25:56Speaker 1: on the pay per view tonight, right You would think that, okay,
- 26:00Speaker 1: Alex wins are a double or nothing, will face a
- 26:02Speaker 1: wild card, and then you get the big surprise entrance,
- 26:06Speaker 1: the fact that they're not doing that, and instead they're
- 26:08Speaker 1: going with a completely different match. Tells me that it
- 26:11Speaker 1: ain't gonna be Mercedes in that spot. It's just my
- 26:13Speaker 1: sense of it. But again, the injury, it sucks. You know.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Willow was a big part of the women's division there,
- 26:19Speaker 1: she was one of the champions, and now she didn't
- 26:22Speaker 1: say anything about surgery, but it looks like she's gonna
- 26:24Speaker 1: be gone for a while. Hopefully she'll she'll be able
- 26:27Speaker 1: to make it back without going under the knife. But
- 26:30Speaker 1: as far as Athena and Mina, I mean, this is
- 26:32Speaker 1: gonna be a win for Athena. Athena, I mean Mina,
- 26:35Speaker 1: my goodness, she's always eaten l's on these shows. And
- 26:40Speaker 1: for her to go in there in the basically the
- 26:42Speaker 1: opening I know they say it's a quarterfinal rounds, the
- 26:44Speaker 1: fucking opening round of this tournament. And Athena, the forever
- 26:48Speaker 1: champion and Ring of Honor, is going to lose to
- 26:50Speaker 1: the woman who loses all the time. Give me a break.
- 26:56Speaker 1: We have Stadium Stampede, Chris Jericho, Bobby Lash Shelton, Benjamin Kenny, Omega,
- 27:02Speaker 1: Jack Perry and the Young Bucks take on Ricochet, The
- 27:05Speaker 1: Gates of Agony, Mark Davis, androde l Edelo and the
- 27:09Speaker 1: Dogs David Finley and Clark Conners. They had a smaller
- 27:13Speaker 1: version of this on Dynamite this week. I'm not the
- 27:18Speaker 1: same stadium stampede rules, but we had some of the
- 27:20Speaker 1: members of this match on Wednesday and the heels went over,
- 27:24Speaker 1: so I had already picked the baby Faces to win. Anyway,
- 27:27Speaker 1: I feel even stronger about my prediction than I did
- 27:29Speaker 1: last week. This will be a win for Team Jericho,
- 27:33Speaker 1: and as fun as Anarchy in the Arena was last year,
- 27:36Speaker 1: I actually find myself looking forward to this match, even
- 27:39Speaker 1: though we know it's going to be just mass chaos
- 27:41Speaker 1: and it's just gonna be tons of i'm sure plunder
- 27:45Speaker 1: and all kinds of crazy spots. I had a lot
- 27:47Speaker 1: of fun with that match last year. If this could
- 27:49Speaker 1: even measure up slightly to what we got a year ago,
- 27:52Speaker 1: then this will be a lot of fun. Just added
- 27:55Speaker 1: on Wednesday, after they wrestled on Dynamite to a time
- 27:58Speaker 1: limit draw, John Moxley will be defending his Continental Championship
- 28:03Speaker 1: against Kyle O'Reilly, only this time there will be no
- 28:06Speaker 1: time limit. Moxley should not be losing another match until
- 28:10Speaker 1: he wrestles Will Osprey I'm going to stand on that
- 28:14Speaker 1: Moxley should not lose to anybody until he gets into
- 28:17Speaker 1: the ring at some point between now and all In
- 28:21Speaker 1: with John Moxley or with Will Ospray. That'd be funny
- 28:24Speaker 1: if we had a mirror match Moxley against Moxley. That's
- 28:27Speaker 1: something we would do in be the booker. You know.
- 28:30Speaker 1: There's been a lot of talk though about them potentially
- 28:31Speaker 1: adding a July pay per view, this Redemption show. I
- 28:35Speaker 1: could see that match happening there. It's like one last
- 28:38Speaker 1: test for Osprey to make sure he's ready, right, like
- 28:42Speaker 1: he's already won the Owen, let's say, but there's still
- 28:45Speaker 1: time between then and all In. And this actually makes
- 28:50Speaker 1: kind of makes sense, I guess from their perspective, if
- 28:52Speaker 1: this is what they plan on doing, there is a
- 28:55Speaker 1: gap from Forbidden Door to All In. There's a two
- 28:58Speaker 1: month gap, right whatever, seven or eight weeks, And so
- 29:02Speaker 1: I could see them saying, all right, you know what,
- 29:03Speaker 1: we don't want to do Osprey and Moxley in the
- 29:05Speaker 1: finals of the Owen, because then where does Osprey go
- 29:08Speaker 1: from there? He got two months to kill We'll save it.
- 29:11Speaker 1: We're gonna be adding this new pay per view in
- 29:13Speaker 1: July line, which is not confirmed, by the way, but
- 29:15Speaker 1: let's say they do. We're gonna be adding this new
- 29:17Speaker 1: pay per view in July, let's do the match there, right,
- 29:21Speaker 1: There's nothing on the line, per se, like Osprey putting
- 29:25Speaker 1: his guaranteed title shot in London on the line wouldn't
- 29:29Speaker 1: make any sense. But just in terms of the story
- 29:32Speaker 1: they've been telling with him being trained by the Death Riders,
- 29:34Speaker 1: it could just be as simple as Moxley saying, this
- 29:37Speaker 1: is your final test, let's see how ready you really are,
- 29:41Speaker 1: and they do the match on that show. But either way,
- 29:44Speaker 1: Moxley should not be losing until then, and again, when
- 29:47Speaker 1: they do that, if Moxley is still the Continental champion,
- 29:50Speaker 1: it does not need to be for the continental title. Obviously,
- 29:53Speaker 1: Moxley is not losing to Kylo Riley. Picking John Moxley
- 29:59Speaker 1: FTR defend the aw Tag team titles against Adam Copeland
- 30:03Speaker 1: and Christian Cage. It will be a street fight. It
- 30:06Speaker 1: will be an I quit street fight, and if FTR retains,
- 30:11Speaker 1: Cope and Cage can never again team up. And I
- 30:15Speaker 1: just don't see any chance of that happening. You know,
- 30:17Speaker 1: they already lost last time tonight to the night, I
- 30:20Speaker 1: think they finally win the AW tag team titles from FTR.
- 30:24Speaker 1: Tekla puts her women's title on the line against Chris Statlander,
- 30:26Speaker 1: Hikarushida Jamie Hayter. I don't see Tekla losing. Kazuchka Okada
- 30:32Speaker 1: against Kenoski Takeshta for the International Championship, but waiting a
- 30:36Speaker 1: long time for this, and I don't see the need
- 30:40Speaker 1: to wait any longer. This should be a title change,
- 30:42Speaker 1: This should be the big win for Takeshta tonight and
- 30:46Speaker 1: in the main event, MJF challenges Darby Allen title versus
- 30:50Speaker 1: Hair for the aw World Championship. You know the way
- 30:54Speaker 1: that mjf's been talking about this and going on social media,
- 30:59Speaker 1: and it's like a four conclusion, I'm getting my belt
- 31:01Speaker 1: back right, three time champion by the age of thirty,
- 31:04Speaker 1: all this stuff. He's really really going over the top
- 31:08Speaker 1: with it, which is starting to make me wonder about
- 31:10Speaker 1: this finish. Do they really want to end this pay
- 31:14Speaker 1: per view on a downer with MJF winning the championship
- 31:19Speaker 1: and not getting his head shaved? Would they do something
- 31:22Speaker 1: where he wins the title again by nefarious means and
- 31:28Speaker 1: still gets his head shaved. It's called having your cake
- 31:31Speaker 1: and eating it too. It's entirely possible. We could get both.
- 31:36Speaker 1: We could very well get But I look, I can
- 31:38Speaker 1: see it now. I could see MJF cheating to win.
- 31:41Speaker 1: He gets the belt back, He's all smiles, You all suck.
- 31:45Speaker 1: I told you I was gonna win. You doubted me.
- 31:48Speaker 1: I'm the goat, right, all of this stuff, and all
- 31:51Speaker 1: of these other people, all the other wrestlers, they come out,
- 31:53Speaker 1: they surround the ring, all the people that he is wronged,
- 31:56Speaker 1: all the people that he has insulted, all the people
- 31:58Speaker 1: that do not like him. Fucking Foley may be out
- 32:01Speaker 1: there and they're all like, basically, they've got him trapped
- 32:04Speaker 1: like a rat and he's got nowhere to go, and
- 32:07Speaker 1: he still gets his fucking head shaved. It's possible. I
- 32:11Speaker 1: don't see him losing this match, though. I think we're
- 32:13Speaker 1: getting the title change. I think Darby's time is up.
- 32:15Speaker 1: I think he's been defending that championship every single week,
- 32:17Speaker 1: Like he was told he has weeks left to live
- 32:20Speaker 1: by his doctor, and it just gets to a point
- 32:23Speaker 1: where this is going to end very soon. And if
- 32:27Speaker 1: it's going to end very soon, there's no better time
- 32:30Speaker 1: for it to end than here. There's no need to
- 32:32Speaker 1: extend this out to forbidden door. He's certainly not going
- 32:35Speaker 1: to Wembley as the defending champion. Tonight is the night
- 32:38Speaker 1: where he drops the belt to MJF. But I'm not
- 32:41Speaker 1: completely convinced that he's not losing his hair. I'm starting
- 32:44Speaker 1: to think that they may end up wanting to give
- 32:47Speaker 1: the fans that happy ending, regardless of whether or not
- 32:50Speaker 1: Darby wins or not. Speaking of MJF, he appeared on
- 32:54Speaker 1: the Ariel Helwani Show this week and addressed a wide
- 32:58Speaker 1: variety of subjects which I am not touching with a
- 33:01Speaker 1: ten foot pole here. Boy did they go off the
- 33:03Speaker 1: beaten path, but among the highlights addressing the interest that
- 33:07Speaker 1: WWE had in him and deciding to stay with AAW
- 33:11Speaker 1: hat tip to F four w online for help with
- 33:13Speaker 1: the transcript here. This is what MJF had to say.
- 33:16Speaker 1: Was it tough talking about turning down a potential WWE offer. No,
- 33:22Speaker 1: you have to know your worth, and I know my worth,
- 33:25Speaker 1: and my worth was built because of the legacy that
- 33:27Speaker 1: I'm building in AAW There is something very enchanting to me.
- 33:30Speaker 1: No matter how much money did or does or will
- 33:33Speaker 1: get thrown at me, and trust me, it was a
- 33:35Speaker 1: lot hypothetically, it was a fucking lot hypothetically. It doesn't
- 33:41Speaker 1: matter because I care about my legacy more than anything.
- 33:44Speaker 1: The idea of going down as the greatest of all
- 33:46Speaker 1: time is really important to me, and I also think
- 33:48Speaker 1: that there's something very special about being able to say
- 33:51Speaker 1: that without ever having worked there. I think that's really cool.
- 33:56Speaker 1: I like the or I think the idea of that
- 33:58Speaker 1: happening in the wrestling world, and to me, the Mount
- 34:01Speaker 1: Rushmore professional wrestlers turned actors are Dave Batista, John Cena,
- 34:05Speaker 1: Dwayne the Rock Johnson. As you know, Mount Rushmore has
- 34:09Speaker 1: how many heads? Four? My goal is to be that
- 34:12Speaker 1: fourth head. And if I could pull that off on
- 34:15Speaker 1: my name alone, in the legacy I've built on my
- 34:17Speaker 1: own back, not from a machine, just the Maxwell machine,
- 34:21Speaker 1: I think that it would feel all the more sweeter.
- 34:25Speaker 1: He said, this is just the way he feels right
- 34:27Speaker 1: now at thirty years old. He never say never, but
- 34:30Speaker 1: he did say that he and Sting had conversations about
- 34:32Speaker 1: how much pride Sting took in making his name outside
- 34:36Speaker 1: of WWE and never going there until twenty fourteen, The
- 34:39Speaker 1: only problem with that is that he did eventually decide
- 34:42Speaker 1: to go there, and by the time he did, we
- 34:45Speaker 1: never got any of the dream matches that most fans
- 34:48Speaker 1: wanted to see because he was too old and so
- 34:51Speaker 1: many of those other guys had either retired or the
- 34:53Speaker 1: matches just never got made right that and Sting got hurt.
- 34:57Speaker 1: Sting spent so many years telling anybody who listen that
- 35:00Speaker 1: he wanted to wrestle the Undertaker. He badly wanted that match.
- 35:04Speaker 1: Had he gotten there even five years earlier, we would
- 35:07Speaker 1: have gotten Sting against the Undertaker. So honestly, he's as
- 35:11Speaker 1: much to blame for that not happening as anybody, as
- 35:14Speaker 1: any other individual person, if we're being perfectly honest. But
- 35:18Speaker 1: I mean to the point that MJF was making about
- 35:20Speaker 1: how he wants to in an ideal situation, he would
- 35:24Speaker 1: love to go down as the Goat or one of
- 35:26Speaker 1: the goats without having ever worked in WWE. And there
- 35:30Speaker 1: are people that are going to hear that and go, well,
- 35:31Speaker 1: that's just not possible, right, That's impossible, which, of course
- 35:34Speaker 1: is just a nonsensical thing to say. There are plenty
- 35:38Speaker 1: of wrestlers, especially if you look at wrestlers from Mexico
- 35:40Speaker 1: and wrestlers from Japan that are living legends, and others
- 35:46Speaker 1: who are no longer living, but they are legends who
- 35:48Speaker 1: never worked for WWE, right, who never worked for one
- 35:53Speaker 1: of the top promotions here in the US, who were
- 35:55Speaker 1: considered among the greatest of all time, the greatest of
- 35:58Speaker 1: all time Mount Rushmore. All that is very subjective thing.
- 36:01Speaker 1: There is no one definitive answer as to who is
- 36:03Speaker 1: the goat or who who belongs on Mount Rushmore right.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Everyone's opinion is going to be different. If MJF never
- 36:10Speaker 1: wants to work for WWA and he wants to continue
- 36:14Speaker 1: wrestling for AW for another ten or fifteen years and
- 36:17Speaker 1: then call it quits. If he could stay healthy, there's
- 36:21Speaker 1: no reason to think that he will not go down
- 36:23Speaker 1: as one of the all time greats. Is he going
- 36:25Speaker 1: to be on Mount Rushmore? Maybe not? Maybe not. But
- 36:30Speaker 1: can he find success and make a great living and
- 36:32Speaker 1: make millions of dollars and win world championships and wrestle
- 36:35Speaker 1: big names and have great matches without ever going to WWE.
- 36:39Speaker 1: The answer is yes, of course he can. So I
- 36:42Speaker 1: don't agree with that opinion that well, if that's his goal,
- 36:47Speaker 1: the only way for him to achieve that is, to
- 36:49Speaker 1: have a WrestleMania match or to go to WWE. No,
- 36:53Speaker 1: not necessarily. That might be true of some people, but
- 36:56Speaker 1: I think in the case of him, he's just so
- 36:58Speaker 1: good at what he does. If this is, you know,
- 37:01Speaker 1: the only place where he ever wrestles, you know, plus
- 37:03Speaker 1: whatever indies and other promotions he may pop up in,
- 37:08Speaker 1: he can have himself a Hall of Fame worthy career
- 37:10Speaker 1: without ever setting foot in a WWE ring, without ever
- 37:14Speaker 1: acknowledging Roman reigns, without ever stepping back inside with cmpunk
- 37:18Speaker 1: or wrestling Seth Rollins or Cody Rhodes again or anything
- 37:21Speaker 1: like that, which is something I would love to see.
- 37:24Speaker 1: But if it doesn't happen, then it doesn't to me.
- 37:26Speaker 1: It doesn't really It's it's not like a negative blight
- 37:30Speaker 1: on his legacy. It'll be a what if you know,
- 37:33Speaker 1: what would have happened if you would have gone to WWE.
- 37:36Speaker 1: How badly would they have neutered him? You know, would
- 37:39Speaker 1: a slightly more PG version of MJF go over well
- 37:42Speaker 1: in WWE? The answer is yes, there's not a doubt
- 37:45Speaker 1: in my mind. But it'll be one of those what
- 37:47Speaker 1: if questions like the same with Sting. What if Sting
- 37:50Speaker 1: had gone there when he was Surfer's Sting. What if
- 37:52Speaker 1: Crow's Sting and in the days of the late nineties
- 37:54Speaker 1: early two thousands had gone to WWF and worked with
- 37:58Speaker 1: Stone Cold and worked with the Rock and work with
- 38:01Speaker 1: the Undertaker and all those people. Right, what if? What if?
- 38:05Speaker 1: But ain't nobody looking at Sting's career and saying that
- 38:09Speaker 1: this man is not one of the all time greats.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Where you slot him on the list, what number you
- 38:15Speaker 1: rank him is up to you. And I don't hear
- 38:18Speaker 1: his name come up when it comes to like Mount
- 38:20Speaker 1: Rushmore or anything like that, because he just wasn't as
- 38:23Speaker 1: important as someone like Hogan, He wasn't as important as
- 38:27Speaker 1: someone like Austin. That's a very elite group. So you
- 38:31Speaker 1: don't hear his name mentioned in like the Mount Rushmore
- 38:33Speaker 1: conversation as much. But he's absolutely on a lot of
- 38:36Speaker 1: greatest of All Time lists. He didn't go there until
- 38:39Speaker 1: twenty fourteen. He was already an old man by that point.
- 38:44Speaker 1: You're gonna tell me his career didn't really amount to
- 38:47Speaker 1: anything because he never went to go work in New York.
- 38:51Speaker 1: It's a ridiculous thing to even say this week's episode
- 38:54Speaker 1: is sponsored by Wicks. Have you ever heard of vibe
- 38:57Speaker 1: coding before, because I hadn't until recently. But it's exactly
- 39:01Speaker 1: as it sounds. You're looking for a certain vibe and
- 39:04Speaker 1: you code your website to fit that vibe. You can
- 39:06Speaker 1: picture it in your head exactly what you want it
- 39:09Speaker 1: to look like, and then make it a reality. And
- 39:11Speaker 1: the way you do that is with Wis's new Harmony editor.
- 39:15Speaker 1: It's pretty amazing. All you do is type in what
- 39:18Speaker 1: it is that you want, and through the power of AI,
- 39:20Speaker 1: you'll get a website that mirrors exactly what you're looking
- 39:23Speaker 1: for and works right out of the gate. But Wicks
- 39:26Speaker 1: Harmony doesn't force you to use AI for everything. You
- 39:29Speaker 1: can still click and change whatever you want all on
- 39:32Speaker 1: your own, or click on something and then ask Aria,
- 39:35Speaker 1: your own personal AI agent, to change it for you.
- 39:39Speaker 1: It also solves the very annoying problem of having to
- 39:42Speaker 1: prompt AI over and over again, even for the smallest changes.
- 39:45Speaker 1: This is much more efficient and it saves you a
- 39:48Speaker 1: lot of time and aggravation. So do yourself a favor,
- 39:51Speaker 1: save yourself the stress and join the millions of businesses
- 39:55Speaker 1: that already use Wix for their website needs. Try wix
- 39:58Speaker 1: harmony for free right now at wis dot com slash harmony.
- 40:03Speaker 1: That's wicks dot com slash harmony now. He also singled
- 40:07Speaker 1: out Malachi Black as the biggest defender of those who
- 40:11Speaker 1: used AW, in his eyes, as a stepping stone just
- 40:14Speaker 1: to go back to WWE. Ariel was pushing him to
- 40:17Speaker 1: name names, and Black is the one that he singled out,
- 40:21Speaker 1: and this is what he said. I think it's pretty
- 40:22Speaker 1: obvious it's Malachi Black. I don't know the guy on
- 40:25Speaker 1: a personal level. Do I think he's a bad guy. No?
- 40:28Speaker 1: Do I think he was a mark for wanting to
- 40:30Speaker 1: have his mania moment. Yeah, And there were a couple
- 40:34Speaker 1: of guys like that, and they got weeded out. Then
- 40:37Speaker 1: they went over there and some found out the grass
- 40:39Speaker 1: isn't greener, and some of them did. For them the
- 40:42Speaker 1: grass was greener. But I would say a majority that
- 40:44Speaker 1: were like, I'm gonna use AW to go back to WWE.
- 40:48Speaker 1: I think you're going to see a lot of those
- 40:50Speaker 1: guys ask for a fifty percent pay cut from the
- 40:53Speaker 1: office or just get released. It's unfortunate because if you
- 40:56Speaker 1: show up to our company, you work hard. There's really
- 40:59Speaker 1: no need to burn Bridges. I'm not shitting on him.
- 41:01Speaker 1: I'm just simply telling you what I was told by
- 41:04Speaker 1: a majority of the locker room about this specific individual. So,
- 41:08Speaker 1: as a team captain and a leader and someone that
- 41:11Speaker 1: has been a part of this company since day one,
- 41:14Speaker 1: I don't want to deal with guys that don't want
- 41:16Speaker 1: to be team players. Fuck off, go elsewhere, or fucking
- 41:20Speaker 1: prove me wrong. I would love to be proven wrong.
- 41:25Speaker 1: The thing about him in these interviews is he's not
- 41:28Speaker 1: afraid to mince words, which is nice. Which is nice,
- 41:31Speaker 1: It's kind of refreshing. There's other people in this case
- 41:34Speaker 1: who wouldn't want to name names, and they would be
- 41:36Speaker 1: very vague, which I could understand. Right, you want to
- 41:39Speaker 1: be professional. You don't want to hurt anybody's feelings. Maybe
- 41:42Speaker 1: this person does come back to AW you want to
- 41:44Speaker 1: be able to work with them and make money with them.
- 41:47Speaker 1: And MJF in this case is like, fuck it. I
- 41:49Speaker 1: don't give a shit. Malachi Black, he's the biggest defender,
- 41:54Speaker 1: you know. My thought is this when it comes to
- 41:56Speaker 1: Alistair Black in Black and Gold, okay, and then also
- 42:01Speaker 1: the main roster under Vince McMahon, even on the main
- 42:05Speaker 1: roster under Vince McMahon at the time, with Paul Hamon
- 42:09Speaker 1: allegedly as a big advocate for him behind the scenes. Right,
- 42:12Speaker 1: Hayman was the executive director of Monday Night Raw, and
- 42:15Speaker 1: he was going to have some level of creative power
- 42:18Speaker 1: and it didn't matter, right, it didn't matter because it
- 42:21Speaker 1: was still Vince McMahon's show. But you look at his
- 42:26Speaker 1: trajectory there and then you look at his time in
- 42:29Speaker 1: AW what happened I think is this and this is
- 42:33Speaker 1: just me spitballing here. He had a great run for
- 42:36Speaker 1: himself in Black and Gold, he really did, and there
- 42:40Speaker 1: were a lot of high hopes for him on the
- 42:42Speaker 1: main roster, and those hopes were not realized because whatever
- 42:47Speaker 1: he ended up doing on the main roster was nowhere
- 42:50Speaker 1: close to what I think his fans thought he was
- 42:53Speaker 1: capable of doing. And so he wasn't given the opportunity
- 42:57Speaker 1: or he just didn't get over enough. I think he
- 42:59Speaker 1: came up at a time was it twenty nineteen, right,
- 43:02Speaker 1: So there were fans, but then Covid and I remember
- 43:05Speaker 1: him Hayman. When did Hayman ascend to that position on Raw?
- 43:09Speaker 1: Was it twenty nineteen? I think it was twenty nineteen,
- 43:13Speaker 1: so fans were still in the buildings. But the bottom
- 43:15Speaker 1: line is he just never reached that peak that people
- 43:18Speaker 1: thought he would. So he went to aaw and you
- 43:23Speaker 1: look at the beginning of that run right out of
- 43:25Speaker 1: the gate, the stuff with Cody, and it's like, Okay,
- 43:28Speaker 1: this is going to be a big fumble by wwe
- 43:30Speaker 1: look at what they're already doing with this guy. And
- 43:33Speaker 1: then the shit that went down with Vince went down,
- 43:36Speaker 1: and Triple H all of a sudden ended up with
- 43:38Speaker 1: the book on the main roster. He ascended to power
- 43:41Speaker 1: on Rawn's SmackDown creatively, and I'm sure that Black saw that,
- 43:47Speaker 1: and he sees this guy right, someone who got him.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Triple H got him. He understood the character. He's going
- 43:54Speaker 1: to know how to use me properly if I ever
- 43:56Speaker 1: go back there. Plus, his wife worked there, and who
- 43:59Speaker 1: knows how much that may have played a role in
- 44:01Speaker 1: his decision to want to leave. Sometimes you just want
- 44:03Speaker 1: to work together, or you want to be able to
- 44:05Speaker 1: travel with your significant other because you don't get to
- 44:08Speaker 1: see them as much if you don't, right, So we
- 44:10Speaker 1: don't know how much of that factored into his decision
- 44:12Speaker 1: making either, But I always thought, men, it's just such
- 44:16Speaker 1: a weird thing, the lack of singles matches that he
- 44:20Speaker 1: had on the roster there in aw after having such
- 44:22Speaker 1: a hot start right out of the gate with the
- 44:24Speaker 1: Cody roadsfeud, he got a couple of wins over Cody,
- 44:27Speaker 1: and Cody was one of the big guys in that
- 44:29Speaker 1: company right one of the EVPs. And then after that
- 44:33Speaker 1: we had the House of Black, We had a bunch
- 44:35Speaker 1: of tag matches and trios matches. He had a back
- 44:37Speaker 1: injury there for a while, but then he was okay,
- 44:40Speaker 1: and he never he just never got back to that
- 44:43Speaker 1: level where he was being pushed as a serious single star.
- 44:48Speaker 1: And I can never understand why, and apparently he couldn't either,
- 44:50Speaker 1: because he got frustrated about it. At one point, he
- 44:53Speaker 1: got sick and tired of people saying, oh, he's got
- 44:55Speaker 1: a bad back, He's got a bad back. And now
- 44:58Speaker 1: he posted a video on social media where he was
- 45:00Speaker 1: clearly very upset and being very passive aggressive and saying, look, basically,
- 45:04Speaker 1: in so many words, stop saying I'm hurt. I had
- 45:07Speaker 1: a back injury that was a long time ago. I'm healthy,
- 45:10Speaker 1: I'm fine. I don't know what to tell you, I'm
- 45:13Speaker 1: not the person that you need to be asking as
- 45:15Speaker 1: far as why I'm not being put in singles matches
- 45:18Speaker 1: basically without saying so, he was saying, go talk to
- 45:20Speaker 1: Tony Khan because I don't have the answer for you.
- 45:24Speaker 1: Maybe Tony got cold feet because he was injured and
- 45:29Speaker 1: felt like he lost a little bit of faith in
- 45:30Speaker 1: him because of that. I don't know. That will forever
- 45:33Speaker 1: be a very weird That and the usage of Miro,
- 45:37Speaker 1: which I could absolutely believe that just came down to
- 45:39Speaker 1: Miro not agreeing to certain creative things and they just
- 45:44Speaker 1: couldn't come to an understanding on like what matches or
- 45:47Speaker 1: who wins and I don't want to lose. I could
- 45:49Speaker 1: absolutely believe that. But that's the situation with Malachi Black.
- 45:53Speaker 1: I feel like that's what happened. I feel like he
- 45:57Speaker 1: was dissatisfied there. He saw Triple Ah send to the
- 45:59Speaker 1: Throne and said, Okay, finally, finally my chance to go
- 46:03Speaker 1: back and show people what I can really do and
- 46:06Speaker 1: what we were doing in Black and Gold just sort
- 46:08Speaker 1: of translate that to the main roster and it didn't
- 46:11Speaker 1: work out that way. Now. MJF also did an interview
- 46:16Speaker 1: with CBS Sports, where he addressed WWE spreading rumors about
- 46:19Speaker 1: Paramount Skydance not renewing AW once their acquisition of Warner
- 46:23Speaker 1: Brothers Discovery becomes official, which is likely to happen in
- 46:27Speaker 1: the fall. I mean that shit's probably going to sail
- 46:30Speaker 1: right through. He talked about this on Aerial Show as well.
- 46:34Speaker 1: He one hundred percent believes that these stories are being
- 46:37Speaker 1: leaked by TKO to make AW look bad. He said, TKO, WWE,
- 46:42Speaker 1: what have you? Their job is to make themselves look
- 46:45Speaker 1: great and to make us look bad. So there's a
- 46:48Speaker 1: leak oh AW is struggling to get a TV deal.
- 46:51Speaker 1: That's fucking news to me, Bro, Like that's news to me,
- 46:54Speaker 1: That's news to everybody on the roster. It's damn sure
- 46:57Speaker 1: news to Tony Kahn because the last time I checked,
- 47:00Speaker 1: they're fucking over the moon with us. Right now, you know,
- 47:02Speaker 1: we do better numbers than fucking almost everything that's going
- 47:05Speaker 1: on on a weekly basis on cable Because right now,
- 47:07Speaker 1: as I was saying, the things that draw on cable
- 47:10Speaker 1: are news and live sports. I've said it once, I'll
- 47:13Speaker 1: say it a million times. I love jolly old Saint
- 47:16Speaker 1: Nick talking about Nick con and I love the tricks
- 47:19Speaker 1: he's pulling out. I fucking get it. It's smart. But
- 47:22Speaker 1: it doesn't mean that we can't use our brains right.
- 47:24Speaker 1: It doesn't mean that we can't go, oh, this is
- 47:26Speaker 1: being leaked intentionally to hurt the company. That is the alternative.
- 47:30Speaker 1: It'd be like if Coke out of the Blue is like, hey,
- 47:32Speaker 1: I don't know if you guys knew about this, but
- 47:34Speaker 1: Pepsi has water in it. Everybody would be like, well,
- 47:37Speaker 1: I mean, where's that source coming from. It's coming from Coke. Okay,
- 47:41Speaker 1: I'm not really going to give much thought to this,
- 47:44Speaker 1: and yeah, I mean, look, he's not wrong. I mean,
- 47:47Speaker 1: obviously we heard that report from Meltzer. I think last
- 47:49Speaker 1: week that internally in WWE they're talking openly about how
- 47:53Speaker 1: they're not going to be renewed or get a new
- 47:55Speaker 1: deal when the Paramount sky Dance acquisition is officially put
- 48:01Speaker 1: through or greenlit or whatever gets approved. And again, it
- 48:06Speaker 1: may well happen that way. It may well happen that way,
- 48:10Speaker 1: but nobody knows. It's all bullshit. It's all bullshit. Until
- 48:17Speaker 1: the acquisition goes through. Nobody knows nothing right now, not WWE,
- 48:21Speaker 1: not Tony Kahn, not MJF. MJF is talking about, well
- 48:26Speaker 1: they're over the moon with us. Well, yes, Warner Brothers
- 48:29Speaker 1: Discovery is over the moon. But again, Warner Brothers Discovery
- 48:33Speaker 1: is about to be absorbed by a larger entity that
- 48:36Speaker 1: has other business interests. So even MJFS saying that that
- 48:39Speaker 1: in and of itself doesn't mean anything, they could be
- 48:42Speaker 1: ecstatic with AW right now come September October, that may
- 48:46Speaker 1: not matter anymore. But the point is, do I believe
- 48:49Speaker 1: that there is shit being leaked by WWE? Of course,
- 48:53Speaker 1: of course you can go back to Pizzagate, the wrestling version,
- 48:57Speaker 1: not the bullshit version, But you go back to Pizzagate
- 49:00Speaker 1: with the whole nick gage thing and that I'm not
- 49:03Speaker 1: going to get back into that, but you guys remember
- 49:05Speaker 1: that I'm sure, of course that was a WWE thing,
- 49:10Speaker 1: one hundred percent. It was this sort of thing happens
- 49:14Speaker 1: all the time. This sort of thing happened back in
- 49:15Speaker 1: the day as well. By the way, with WWF ANDWCW,
- 49:18Speaker 1: this is hardly, hardly a new phenomena where you try
- 49:21Speaker 1: to you know, you try to handicap the competition by
- 49:24Speaker 1: spreading bullshit about them. That's clearly what's going on here
- 49:29Speaker 1: on the eve of the biggest match of his career.
- 49:32Speaker 1: Marcel Bartel, who goes by Ludwig Kaiser on WWE television
- 49:37Speaker 1: as well as El Geronde Americano. I can't prove it,
- 49:41Speaker 1: but I believe it to be him, was arrested on
- 49:44Speaker 1: Wednesday in Florida on a battery charge. It was not
- 49:48Speaker 1: a domestic incident, and he was bonded out of Orange
- 49:51Speaker 1: County Corrections in Orlando on a thousand dollars bail later
- 49:54Speaker 1: that night. Here's the story from TMZ. WWE star Ludwig
- 49:58Speaker 1: Kaiser landed in a heap of trouble after cops say
- 50:01Speaker 1: he and his girlfriend could not keep their sex drives
- 50:03Speaker 1: in check. Kaiser real name Marcel Bartel, was arrested Wednesday
- 50:08Speaker 1: for battery after he got physical with his neighbor inside
- 50:11Speaker 1: a luxury building in Orlando, Florida, where the two men live,
- 50:14Speaker 1: according to a police report obtained by TMZ. The report
- 50:18Speaker 1: says the incident popped off on the night of April
- 50:20Speaker 1: twenty third, when the neighbor, Richard Reap, stepped inside an
- 50:24Speaker 1: elevator on the twelfth floor along with Kaiser and the
- 50:27Speaker 1: woman he was with. As the elevator ascended, Kaiser and
- 50:30Speaker 1: the woman started making out right in front of Reap,
- 50:33Speaker 1: and their passion grew to an uncontrollably intimate level with
- 50:38Speaker 1: their aggressive kissing. According to the report, When they reached
- 50:42Speaker 1: the twelfth floor, both parties allegedly got off the elevator,
- 50:45Speaker 1: and the neighbor told the couple to please have some manners.
- 50:49Speaker 1: That comment triggered an angry response from Kaiser, who allegedly
- 50:53Speaker 1: pummeled Reap and shoved him to the floor. Police say
- 50:56Speaker 1: Kaiser also threatened the neighbor, who later reported the alleged
- 50:59Speaker 1: assault to law enforcement. The responding officer noted observing a
- 51:04Speaker 1: fresh scratch and redness on the back of Reepe's head,
- 51:07Speaker 1: which police stated was consistent with a recent altercation. The
- 51:10Speaker 1: arrest affidavit stated that the responding officers also reviewed surveillance
- 51:14Speaker 1: footage from the twelfth floor, with that video allegedly showing
- 51:18Speaker 1: a white male punching and pushing Reap outside the elevator
- 51:21Speaker 1: at the reported time of the incident, and per pw
- 51:25Speaker 1: inside of the affidavit states that Reep subsequently identified Bartel
- 51:29Speaker 1: in a six person photographic lineup conducted later that evening.
- 51:33Speaker 1: Bartel turned himself in after a warrant had been issued.
- 51:37Speaker 1: He was reportedly ordered to have no contact with the
- 51:39Speaker 1: victims or witnesses and was granted one supervised return to
- 51:43Speaker 1: the apartment accompanied by law enforcement authorities. For Bartel filed
- 51:47Speaker 1: a motion on Thursday morning in court requesting that he
- 51:51Speaker 1: received permission to travel freely internationally despite his arrest. The
- 51:55Speaker 1: motion notes that Bartel learned of the arrest warrant against
- 51:58Speaker 1: him on May nineteenth while he was in Mexico and
- 52:01Speaker 1: immediately flew back to Orlando to turn himself in the
- 52:03Speaker 1: next day. It also pointed out that he has no
- 52:06Speaker 1: prior criminal record. The motion states that Bartel's job requires
- 52:10Speaker 1: him to travel around the United States and internationally in
- 52:13Speaker 1: order to maintain his employment. So that was quite the
- 52:19Speaker 1: story out of left field. I love the uncontrollable kissing.
- 52:24Speaker 1: I mean, hey, good for him, although I guess if
- 52:29Speaker 1: I was stuck in an elevator with two people who
- 52:31Speaker 1: were ripping and clawing at each other uncontrollably, would probably
- 52:35Speaker 1: make me a little uncomfortable too, and perhaps I would
- 52:38Speaker 1: turn to them and go, please have some manners. Actually,
- 52:42Speaker 1: I'd probably just keep my mouth shut and go Hey,
- 52:44Speaker 1: I give him like a little not out of respect,
- 52:47Speaker 1: and I would go about my day. But I'm not
- 52:49Speaker 1: Richard Reap in this case. Now, there was an event
- 52:52Speaker 1: involving El Grande Americano that was scheduled for Mexico City
- 52:56Speaker 1: the other day that was canceled and they were just
- 52:59Speaker 1: gonna have this. It was at the Kings League Mexico.
- 53:03Speaker 1: It's a free event for about three hundred fans. It
- 53:06Speaker 1: was going to be like a little mini parade of sorts,
- 53:09Speaker 1: I guess for El Grande Americano. This was in conjunction
- 53:12Speaker 1: with Triple A, but Triple A announced the cancelation on
- 53:15Speaker 1: Thursday night, or of the Thursday night event, on Instagram,
- 53:19Speaker 1: saying the Serenata for El Grande Americano event schedule for
- 53:23Speaker 1: tonight in Mexico City has been canceled. We appreciate your understanding.
- 53:28Speaker 1: And I didn't read too much into that because the
- 53:30Speaker 1: man literally could not legally travel out of the country
- 53:33Speaker 1: at that time. And then on Friday came this update.
- 53:37Speaker 1: Court records show that Bartel's attorney has filed a supplemental
- 53:40Speaker 1: version of his motion to allow out of state and
- 53:42Speaker 1: international travel. In this updated document, it's noted that Kaiser's
- 53:46Speaker 1: council has communicated with the Assistant State Attorney and the
- 53:50Speaker 1: state will not be objecting to the motion since the
- 53:53Speaker 1: initial filing of the motion to travel undersigned. Council communicated
- 53:57Speaker 1: with Assistant State Attorney shay Lan Kott, who indicated no
- 54:01Speaker 1: objection to this motion, and then came the announcement shortly
- 54:04Speaker 1: thereafter that the event was back on, this time on
- 54:08Speaker 1: Friday night in Mexico City for fans to show their
- 54:10Speaker 1: support for Kaiser Americano ahead of his match with Gable
- 54:14Speaker 1: Americano next weekend. Now I know that Raj Geary posted
- 54:22Speaker 1: something online that I'm not even going to read here
- 54:24Speaker 1: because I have no idea where he's even getting this from.
- 54:28Speaker 1: As far as what the neighbor allegedly really said to
- 54:32Speaker 1: Bartel to set him off, now I agree, it's a
- 54:34Speaker 1: little suspect that the guy would tell him, please, sir,
- 54:37Speaker 1: have some manners and then he went all John Wick
- 54:40Speaker 1: on his ass. Okay, that's it's a little far fetched
- 54:43Speaker 1: to me. It's possible, but it's a little far fetched.
- 54:45Speaker 1: It makes me feel like there was something else that
- 54:47Speaker 1: was said. There has to be more to this, but
- 54:49Speaker 1: we don't know, and neither does he, so I'm not
- 54:52Speaker 1: going to repeat what he posted here until and unless
- 54:55Speaker 1: we get confirmation from somewhere else. All due respect to Raj,
- 55:00Speaker 1: but it would have been a generational fumble if this
- 55:03Speaker 1: would have wound up killing his push, or if he
- 55:06Speaker 1: had gotten pulled from that match next weekend. Because the
- 55:09Speaker 1: big Mask Versus Mask match is set for the Triple
- 55:12Speaker 1: A show next Saturday, May thirtieth. They have been building
- 55:15Speaker 1: to this match for months. This is going to be
- 55:19Speaker 1: a big fucking deal in Triple A next weekend. And
- 55:23Speaker 1: can you imagine if this was serious enough that the
- 55:27Speaker 1: match got canceled or he got suspended, or he got fired,
- 55:30Speaker 1: or he can't travel so he can't make it to
- 55:32Speaker 1: the show and they have to come up with a
- 55:34Speaker 1: plan B. It would have been a fucking disaster. And
- 55:38Speaker 1: if they would have punished him for this, and there's
- 55:40Speaker 1: no indication of that happening, I mean, this is still
- 55:42Speaker 1: playing out in real time. We're not sure how this
- 55:44Speaker 1: is going to end, but it doesn't look like that's
- 55:46Speaker 1: going to be the case. But again, this would have
- 55:48Speaker 1: been a generational fumble for Bartel, But it looks like
- 55:52Speaker 1: it's full speed ahead. They were on the Triple A Show,
- 55:56Speaker 1: both Americanos. Last night they had another brawl. The heat
- 55:59Speaker 1: was just off the charts. Gable he ended up showing
- 56:02Speaker 1: off a T shirt that had a picture of Kaiser's
- 56:05Speaker 1: girlfriend on it. I believe there was a stipulation where
- 56:10Speaker 1: there could be no physical contact between the two until
- 56:12Speaker 1: their mask match, and then they started going at it,
- 56:14Speaker 1: and it's like, well, I guess fuck the stipulation. It's
- 56:18Speaker 1: unreal how hot this feud is in Mexico right now
- 56:22Speaker 1: and how dead it will be on Raw tomorrow night. Seriously,
- 56:26Speaker 1: you watch Raw any given week and like some of
- 56:28Speaker 1: the like the high spots and moves when they're wrestling,
- 56:32Speaker 1: get a little bit of a reaction, but really, on
- 56:34Speaker 1: the whole, I mean, nobody cares about this shit. Like
- 56:36Speaker 1: you watch Monday night Raw. No, there's no way you
- 56:39Speaker 1: watch that show and go, man, this is this is
- 56:42Speaker 1: the feud of the year. But then you watch it
- 56:45Speaker 1: play out on the Triple A Show and it's like
- 56:46Speaker 1: night and day. It's like you're not even watching the
- 56:49Speaker 1: same thing. Gable is going to get unmasked on Saturday,
- 56:55Speaker 1: and then Kaiser is going to win the Triple A
- 56:57Speaker 1: Mega title. From Dom at Triple Mania in September, especially
- 57:02Speaker 1: now that we know the other big announcement on the
- 57:04Speaker 1: Triple A show last night is that Ray Mysterio has
- 57:07Speaker 1: been named the new general manager of Triple A. So
- 57:11Speaker 1: it's perfect because now Ray is going to absolutely make
- 57:16Speaker 1: sure this match happens. Right. He's gonna have his son
- 57:18Speaker 1: defending the championship at Triple Mania in a few months
- 57:21Speaker 1: against Kaiser. This is the path, so long as Kaiser
- 57:26Speaker 1: doesn't punch anybody else in the face between now and then.
- 57:29Speaker 1: Because I'll just say this about this whole thing, We'll
- 57:32Speaker 1: see how it all plays out. Again. The guy wanted
- 57:34Speaker 1: to press charges, it's not over yet at this moment.
- 57:38Speaker 1: As I sit here, knowing what we know, I don't
- 57:40Speaker 1: see any significant fallout from this. And let's just say
- 57:45Speaker 1: the guy did say something very offensive that really set
- 57:48Speaker 1: Kaiser off, and he just didn't want to tell the
- 57:50Speaker 1: cops and he didn't just say, please, sir, have some manners.
- 57:55Speaker 1: Then it's understandable, but you know what, you can't be
- 57:58Speaker 1: putting your hands on somebody like that. Got to be
- 58:00Speaker 1: smarter about that, especially being in the situation that he's
- 58:03Speaker 1: in right now where he is a public figure. He's
- 58:05Speaker 1: an entertainer and you got you know, security cameras and everything,
- 58:09Speaker 1: and you just can't be assaulting people. I mean, we
- 58:13Speaker 1: could be like, oh, well, the guy must have mouthed
- 58:15Speaker 1: off to him. Well, you know, maybe he did. But
- 58:18Speaker 1: unless the guy threw fists first or put his hands
- 58:21Speaker 1: on Kaiser's girl, you can't be doing that. So he'll
- 58:26Speaker 1: be lucky if this just sort of goes away quietly
- 58:28Speaker 1: and there's no significant fallout from it. But if something
- 58:32Speaker 1: like this were to happen again, that's a whole different
- 58:34Speaker 1: ball of wax. But again, there's no history of him
- 58:37Speaker 1: doing this. He hasn't been arrested for this, I mean,
- 58:40Speaker 1: to anyone's knowledge, he's not somebody who gets into fights
- 58:43Speaker 1: or anything like this. Hopefully it's just a one off.
- 58:47Speaker 1: But I don't want to make it sound like he
- 58:49Speaker 1: was necessarily in the right here either, because you can't
- 58:52Speaker 1: be throwing hands on people unless they throw hands on
- 58:55Speaker 1: you first. Ron SmackDown this week not a whole lot
- 58:59Speaker 1: to dive into. The big thing was the return of
- 59:02Speaker 1: brock Lesner on Monday Night attacking Obafemi. It was the
- 59:07Speaker 1: shock of just it happening on Monday. I don't even
- 59:10Speaker 1: know that people are necessarily shocked that Brock is not
- 59:12Speaker 1: retired and he's already back. But I don't think anybody
- 59:15Speaker 1: was expecting him to ambush Obafemi from behind as he
- 59:19Speaker 1: was about to open up the open challenge again for
- 59:22Speaker 1: a week. I guess this would have been week three,
- 59:25Speaker 1: and Brock attacked him from behind. He put him down
- 59:27Speaker 1: with four f fives. It took four of them to
- 59:30Speaker 1: put this match down. And then later on in the show,
- 59:33Speaker 1: the contract Paul Hayman handed a contract over to Adam
- 59:36Speaker 1: Pearson said it's already signed. It's already signed by Brock
- 59:40Speaker 1: Legner whoever that is for a Magic Clash in Italy
- 59:45Speaker 1: next weekend. All it needs now is a signature from Obafemi.
- 59:50Speaker 1: But this is the first time that Obafemi has been
- 59:51Speaker 1: put down since coming to the main roster, right, Brock
- 59:54Speaker 1: finally got one over on him after all this time,
- 59:58Speaker 1: and the fans when they saw Brock out there, I mean,
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: this got the biggest reaction of anything on the show.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: The show was very boring and so whatever you think
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: about Brock being back, I don't want to see him.
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: He doesn't need to be back. You know, I don't.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: We don't need to see Oba loose to him. Now,
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: forget that for a second. It was easily easily the
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: most exciting thing to happen on Raw Monday nights. So
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: for that reason alone, it was my favorite thing on
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: the entire show because it was actually exciting, right it
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: Actually it made me feel something other than just total
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: apathy to what I was seeing on my television or
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: iPad as it were. So now we're getting a match
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: next weekend. It's going to be Brock Olasner against Olbafemi,
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: and it seems pretty clear to me that they are
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: going to do a trilogy with these men, and I
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: think it's going to be very similar to what they
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: did with Brock and Cody Rhodes three years ago. They
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: had three matches as well. It culminated at Summer Slam
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: with Cody getting a big win over Brock, and Brock
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: gave him the big endorsement when that match was over.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: And I think they're probably going to work the same
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: plan here, I think with these and if this is
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: the plan, then we needed something like that on Monday
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: from Brock because you can't just have Oba constantly killing
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: him literally every single time. Brock has to get the
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: heat on him at some point if you're going to
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: try to stretch this out to a second match and
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: a third match, Otherwise it just gets boring and repetitive.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: So if that is the plan, then you know they
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: did what needed to be done. But as far as
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: Brock being back, look, I my mindset is this. On
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: this I don't see a need for Brock Lesner to
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: be back. Some people are like, oh, I'm so happy
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: Brock's back, or you know, Brock, He's got to have
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: a proper sendoff in Minnesota. No, he doesn't. He had
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: a nice sendoff of WrestleMania, and maybe that will go
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: down as his WrestleMania send off, not his official sendoff,
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: and maybe that was his WrestleMania retirement. But that would
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: have been the perfect cap I think to his career,
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: on the biggest show of the year, in front of
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: fifty thousand people, putting over the next big thing in
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: this company, the next big thing from twenty five five
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: years ago, putting over the new next big thing. That
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: match at WrestleMania was exactly what it needed to be.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: There was no need for Brock to go over on Oba.
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: Really at any point unless you did want to have
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: a trilogy series between them. But if they would have
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: left well enough alone, that would have been the perfect
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: moment for Brock to go ahead and right off into
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: the sunset with his cowboy hat and everything. And I
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: would have been perfectly content for that to be it
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: and not to have Brock back on TV. But here
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: he is, and now he's back. Am I shocked? Not
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: in the least, not in the least. Man's all about business,
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: where there's business to be done and money to be made,
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: brock Lesner will be there. And if they build up
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: SummerSlam by the way as his oh well, this is
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: gonna be the real retirement for Brocklesner. I'm still not
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: going to buy into it. I don't know why anybody
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: would when you do the kind of angle they did
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: at WrestleMania and he leaves his fucking boots in the
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: middle of the ring. They never used the word retired,
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: but give me a fucking break. Okay, what do you
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: think they wanted to communicate to the audience. He was
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: supposed to be done. He left his gloves, he left
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: his boots. Paul Hayman is in tears like he stubbed
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: his toe. This was the set. And look, even Adam
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: Pierce on Monday was talking to Haym and going, what
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: the hell's going on here? I just filed retirement paperwork.
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: They flat out told you he retired, and they went
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: back on it. Cool. Well, the next time you pull
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: this retirement shit, I ain't gonna buy it, and neither
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: is anybody else. It's not gonna have the same effect.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: If they were to have a match. Let's say it's
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: SummerSlam to cap this off with Lesnar and Obafemi, and
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: it's like a career match, right, or if Brock doesn't win,
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: he's gonna retire. Who's gonna believe it. It's not gonna
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: have any weight. No one's gonna care. Oh it's Minnesota,
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: who gives his shit? Who cares? That's the one thing
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: you lose out on now by bringing him back so
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: quickly after what we saw at wrestle Media. But other
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: than that, hey, you want to have a series of
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: matches between these two. I thought the four minutes they
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: had at WrestleMania was perfect, right. I mean, look, these
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: next couple of matches they're going to have could also
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: be very exciting and could also be very good. I
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: can't imagine Oba wins in Italy next weekend. I don't
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: really know what the point of that would even be.
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: Quite frankly, if you went in there and won, Brock
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: kind of has to win. I don't really necessarily want
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: to see Oba lowse, but Brock kind of has to
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: win that match. So now we fast forward to SmackDown
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: on Friday, and we had Cody Rhodes in the main
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: event against Sammy's ain and Gunther showed up and he
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: put Cody in the sleeper hold, and Sammy just stood
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: there and stared and watched as Gunther smothered him at
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: the end of the show, and Sammy did nothing to
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: help because Cody's been making comments about Sammy for a
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: while that had been very upsetting to Sammy, And this
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: was Sammy's moment where he finally said, you know what,
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: I'm good, I went to go walk off. He got booed.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: If you were of the mindset that Sammy wasn't already
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: a heel, he certainly was bood like one. At the
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: end of that show. On Friday, Carmelo Hayes got his
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: match with Trick Williams. They made the match on the show.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: He said, Hey, you know you got your secretary over here,
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: Lil YACHTI saying that you're busy. You needs your peticure,
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: you got a manicure, you got a massage, you got
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: all this shit going on. Why don't you give me
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: a shot at the championship. And he did, and we
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: got a match between Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams and
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: Ricky Saints got involved, so it looks like we're leading
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: to maybe a triple threat very soon. I enjoyed that.
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: What I did not enjoy as much was the fact
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: that we had two different MFTs matches on the show.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: We had Tallatanga against Shinsky Nakamora, which was exactly what
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: you would expect it would be, and we had Solo
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: Socoa against Damian Priest. But they worked in Royce Keys
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: into the story. And so now there's heat with Roy's
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: Keys and Damian Priest. And fine, you know that's all
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: well and good. Damian Priest could certainly use something. You know,
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: he's won half of the Tag team champions. I don't
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: know what happened to our truth. Maybe it's a legitimate injury.
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: They said last week he wasn't medically cleared all of
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: a sudden when they were supposed to have a match,
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: a tag team title match or maybe a non title match.
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: But I don't even think he was on the show
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: this week, So there may well be a legitimate injury
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: that's going to keep truth out for a while. These
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: guys are the tag team champions. If it's something serious,
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: then we'll find out very soon because they're going to
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: have to surrender those belts. But as far as you know,
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: a priest is concerned to try to get something going
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: with him, I guess because he's just got he's got nothing.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: He's got nothing going on right now. And then Blake Monroe,
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: they've been airing vignettes for her, teasing her arrival now
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: for weeks, and she finally arrived on Friday, and it
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: was in a twenty second backstage segment with Chelsea Green.
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: Not much of a debut here for Blake Monroe, but
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: I think she's going to be fine. I saw a
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: lot of overreacting on my timeline. Oh my god, Oh
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: this is terrible. All this build up and then she
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: just shows up in the back and talks to Chelsea
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: in fifteen seconds and it's over. I joked on my
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: social media when I saw that Tiffany Stratton was doing
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: a US title open challenge, I joked that, you know,
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: Blake was going to accept, and I kind of expected
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: that to be how they were going to debut her.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: But like, I'm totally fine with them not doing that, Like,
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: it does not bother me at all. You cannot debut
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: everyone from NXT wrestling for a fucking championship. You cannot
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: debut everybody from NXT showing up and confronting the champion.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: They've already done this. How many fucking times have they
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: done this recently? The way they've called up by the
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: way a lot of these new NXT faces has not
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: been great. But they did it with Soul Ruka, and
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: they did it with Ricky Saints, and they did it
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: with Fatal Influence. I Mean, we already saw what they
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: did with Obafemi, but that was a special case, you know,
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: going into WrestleMania, that was great. Blakeman Roe does not
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: need to debut in an open challenge and win a
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: championship on her first night, And the fact that she
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: didn't do that doesn't mean that her debut was also
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: a failure, Like it's okay to let things marinate a
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: little bit with some of these people and not debut
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: them against the fucking champion of the brand. I hate
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: that there are some people out there who think, like,
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: if you don't debut somebody that way, that they're already
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: buried or oh they've already lost interest in them, Like
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: are you new here? Like how long have you been
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: watching wrestling for? Come on now? Saturday Night's main event
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: last night? I was not live after the show. I
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: caught up with it a little bit later on. Not
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: a bad show wrestling wise, In fact, it was largely
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: very good. Three out of the five matches, I would
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: say the match with Penta and Ethan Page was excellent.
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: It was still missing that one marquee match though, and
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: there was one absolutely horrendous finish. But we did get
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: a pair of tag team title defenses, one for the men,
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: one for the women, the first time the tag team
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: titles of any have been defended on a Saturday Nights
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: Made event since nineteen ninety two, which also happens to
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: be the one and only time that the Intercontinental title
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: has changed hands on a Saturday Night's Made event. That
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: was when Shawn Michaels beat the British Bulldog for his
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: first singles title, which was also in Indiana, by the way,
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: as the show was last night, but that record still
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: stands because we got no title changes last night. What
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: we did get, though, were some backstage interviews, which we
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: were not getting much of before on these shows, especially
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: when they were still airing on NBC, and the backstage
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: promos were a staple of what made so many of
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: those old Saturday nights made events shows so enjoyable. Not
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: that these promos these days are any great shakes compared
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: to the old one. They're really not. But it's nice
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: to hear from some of these people before they go
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: out to the ring, so hopefully they stick to this
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: formula going forward. I can't speak to how the viewing
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: experience was on Peacock as far as ads and whatnot,
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: because I watched this on WWE's YouTube channel with my VPN.
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: The reason I did that and I didn't have so
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: I didn't have any issues as far as like the
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: ad breaks. But the reason I did that was when
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: I tried to watch it normally with Peacock because I
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: started the show late, it wouldn't let me start from
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: the beginning. It would only let me go back to
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: like the middle of the first match or the second
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: match or whatever it was. I'm like, what the fuck
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: can I go back to the beginning of the show.
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: This is stupid, So fuck Peacock. Then now in Forever,
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: So I watched it on YouTube. We had jade Car Gill,
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: we had Meechen, and we had bfab in the opening
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: match against Riho Ripley, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. And
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: this played out exactly the way that I told you
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: last week. I thought it would jade Car Gill not
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: only winning the match for her team, but it was
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: very very important, I think for her to get the
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: win over Rhea Ripley, not to have her pin Charlotte,
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: not to have her pin Alexa Bliss. She had to
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: pin the champion to give her that momentum heading into
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: their world title match next Sunday at Clash in Italy.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: And that's exactly what happened in here, and much better
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: match than I expected it to be. And they had
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: a hot crowd for it. The crowd was actually pretty
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: hot for the entire show. But it really adds so
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: much to these matches because we're just so used to
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: in recent months just having a lot of dead WWE
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: crowds when it comes to their weekly shows. It's very deflating,
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: and we didn't have that issue last night, so this
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: was much better than I expected it to be. Then
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: we had the one debacle on this show. This was
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: fucking terrible. Becky lanched against Soul Ruka non title after
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: WWE announced online that it would all of a sudden
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: be a title match midweek, only to then correct themselves
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: because it was in fact not for Becky's intercontinental title
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: and it wasn't really a match. It turned out to
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: be more of an angle than a match because they
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: wanted to set up a title match a rematch for
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: next weekend in Italy. This did not even go two
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: and a half minutes, with Becky pulling referee Jessica Carr
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: into how long, by the way, are we going to
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: continue to do this shit without having some sort of
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: payoff or match between Becky and Jessica, because it has
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: to be coming at some point soon. But she pulled
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: Jessica Carr into the path of what was supposed to
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: be a soul snatcher attempt that was not by Soul Rukas.
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: She did not rotate at all. She just came down
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: almost like a Vader bomb. But then just before landing,
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: it looked like she tried to kind of sort of
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: rotate her body and Jessica actually just kind of fell
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: on top of her, and it just looked fucking awful.
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: It looked awful, and you could see the fans on
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: the hardcam like what the fuck was that? And so
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: then they rang the bell and the crowd was I mean,
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: they just groaned, and Jessica disqualified Becky for pulling her
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: into harm's way, and then Becky ended up coming back
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: to the ring and she laid out Soul with multiple
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: man handle slams. Nick All this was there last night.
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: Adam Pierce was not, but in the back. Later all
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: this informed Becky on behalf of Adams that she will
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: be defending her Intercontinental title in Italy next Sunday against
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: Soul Ruka. There had to be a better way to
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: do this, because this was just terrible. This was very
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: very very terrible, very very disappointing. Now it sets up
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: a title match for next weekend that I really hope
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: Soul doesn't just win because I think it's too soon
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: to just throw the belt on her when she has
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: no wins on the main roster. I am not counting
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: that lay Mass DQ win from last night. I'm not
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: counting that this woman hasn't really won a fucking match
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: since she came to the main roster Live Morgan Eo Sky.
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: So we're just gonna throw the Intercontinental title on her.
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: I don't know why you would do that. I don't
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: know why you Wouldn't you know you got Summer Slam
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: comment of Night of Champions. I mean, whenever you want
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: to pull the trigger, why not just just build it
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: a little bit more. Why rush the belt onto her now?
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: I don't see the need to do that. But how
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: about this Italy card? So I said last week, it
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: was shaping up to be much better than Backlash. Got
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: Roman and Jacob, Tribal Combat, Cody against gunther Brock against
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: Oba and now Becky and Soul for the Intercontinental title,
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: and I'm sure we'll get at least one more match
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: aded maybe two. I know that's asking a lot from
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: this administration to get six, but shaping up to be
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: a pretty stacked cards so far. Penta and the best
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: thing on the entire show last night, retained his Intercontinental
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: Championship over Ethan Page an excellent match here he wins
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: with a springboard Mexican Destroyer. And there was a new
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: report from Wressel Votes that Ethan Page has been impressing
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: many people in the company since he came to NXT
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: back in twenty twenty four. They said, on the day
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: of the biggest WWE match of his career to date,
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: it's worth and noting how well received Ethan Page has
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: been internally since arriving in the company in twenty twenty four.
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: A source once described Page as extremely respectful in detail
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: or behind the scenes, something that many feel has translated
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: onto TV throughout his time in NXT, Triple A and
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: now Monday Night Raw. Regardless of Tonight's outcome, those spoken
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: to believe Paige has positioned himself very well moving forward,
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: especially considering how quickly he's risen in a relatively short
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: amount of time. I'm not surprised by any of this.
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: I think Ethan Page he fits like a glove on
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: Monday Night Raw. And he may not have won last night,
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: said I would have just put the belt on him.
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: I mean, it's not a big deal. Penta winning. I
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: think I like pent to two, but at some point,
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: very soon he will have Intercontinental Goald. I mean, it's
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: just a foregone conclusion at this point. It's only a
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: matter of time. But yes, in a very short period
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: of time, he has I think, positioned himself very well
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: as a heel on that Monday Night Raw Roster, and
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: I expect big things out of him going forward. Page
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: and Bribella they found a way yet again to retain
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: their women's tag team titles. They've had three defenses so
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: far since WrestleMania, two of which have come against Naya Jackson,
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: Lash legend A, matches that weren't any good. None of
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: the title defenses these women have had have been any good.
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: And it's time for this rain to come to an
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: end now. I figured they're waiting for Nicki Bella to
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: come back first, but if Nicki is not coming back
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: anytime soon, they need to get the belts off these
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: two asap. This should have never been anything more than
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: a one off at WrestleMania. To give the fans a
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: happy moment, those belts should have come right off of
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: them that Monday on Raw or smack Down that Friday,
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: and they put the Street Profits against the Vision in
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: the main event for the World tag team titles. Very
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: good match. Bron Breaker running out and getting pounced over
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: the announced deask by Angelo Dawkins was the holy shit
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: moment of the night. He went fucking flying. I mean
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: he cleared the desk, he hit the office chairs. He's
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: lucky he didn't get pounced into the front row and
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: Paul Hayman saved the match back inside the ring by
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: placing Theories foot on the bottom rope. After the frog
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: splashed by Montes Ford, the brass Nuts came into play,
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: ultimately led to the Profits downfall, with Theory pinning Ford
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: to retain. And then after the match, actually they put
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: the credits up on the screen too, in the copyright
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: box and they is a Triple H special and they
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: wanted you to believe that the show was over and
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: they were going off the air. And then bron Breaker
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: decides to sprint back to the ring and he spears
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: Ford and Dawkins and leaves them both laying as the
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: Vision stands tall again. The match I thought was very good.
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: It got hot there towards the very end, and the
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: key is bron Breaker's involvement, which is going to lead
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: to a six man tag team match very soon. Maybe
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: they add that to the Clash in Italy card, but
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: I can see it being a case where Dawkins has
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: to convince Ford to allow Rollins to help because montes
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: Ford does not like Seth Rollins. He does not like him,
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: he does not want his help, and he's going to
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: have to be convinced of this. Now they feel like
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: they have no choice right so at least it served
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: a story purpose. So that was Saturday Night's made event
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: last night. Now, I got some other WWE news and
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: notes here from the past few days. Osca posted an
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: update on her future this week and a vlog on
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: her kana Chan TV YouTube channel. This is what she
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: had to say about her WWE status. It's already been
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: about two weeks since my last match of Backlash. I
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: know there are a ton of rumors flying around out there,
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: people asking are we ever going to see Osca wrestle again?
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: Is she going back to Japan? Is she leaving WWE?
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: The truth is it was a personal matter. I reached
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: out to WWE and we talked it through. But let's
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: be clear, as you all know from watching my matches,
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: I can still go. I am still at the top
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: of my game. I've been with WWE for over ten
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: years now, almost like it was just a given. And
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: because it became such a part of your daily routine,
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: I think my presence there just became something everyone took
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: for granted. But remember, nothing lasts forever. Everything is finite.
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: You see, I'm not just a wrestler by trade. I'm
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: a designer too. Even the way I live my life
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: has to be art. I'm sure you'll all be wondering
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: what's next for me and how I'll be involved with
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: TV and the tours moving forward. But don't forget I
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: am still officially with WWE, so there's a chance I
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: might just pop up in front of you when you
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: least expect it. Let's be honest, no one will ever
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: make the kind of historic impact I made from day one.
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: I don't think anyone will ever climb to the top
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: non stop, grabbing every title and accolade along the way
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: the way that I did. And because I'm a true pioneer,
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: it will never be another Osca. So from here on out,
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: if you ever catch a glimpse of me, you better
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: cherish it because it's going to be rare. That said,
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: my YouTube channel and social media are staying active, so
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: stay connected with you or to stay connected with you, guys.
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: Dave Meltzer was the first to report that he was
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: told Oscar was considered semi retired, and her comments here
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: would seem to back that up. And that sucks. But
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: at least she's not totally retired. I would imagine we'll
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: see her for big events like the Royal Rumble, maybe
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: a WrestleMania match or a big international show here and there.
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: I still want her to win a match at wrestle
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: She is zero for six in her career in media matches,
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: which is just insane to me. But a little bit
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: of Osca is still better than no Osca at all,
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: and there is something to be said for people. Look,
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: they take you for granted when you're on television every
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: week for so long. They take you for granted. And
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: maybe we need Osca sparingly to be able to appreciate
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: more what she brings to the table. She's not wrong
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: about that tag team division. I wanted to talk about
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: this briefly here because there was a report that WWE
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: is reportedly looking to rebuild its Tag Team Division and
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: I will I will spare you the laughter because I could.
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: I could get a nice belly laugh out of that
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: right now. But this is what is being said. There's
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: a report that came out on Wednesday by False Finish HQ,
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: which is a new site that recently went live. Some
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: folks who left bodyslam dot net recently have found a
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: home there. According to them, WWE is hoping to rebuild
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: the division from within, while also looking at the possibility
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: of signing teams from other promotions. False Finish has also
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: learned that former Cruiserweight champion Enzo Amore has been spotted
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: at the WWE Performance Center recently. What makes that interesting
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: is that you couple that with the reports of Big
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: Bill his aw contract expiring imminently, as well as we've
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: heard about the possible interest in Baron Corbin and maybe
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: even Die Jack, although not necessarily bringing them in as
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: a team the way they have been in MLW is
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: the Skyscrapers. Russell Votes says the WWE is interested in
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: reuniting and bringing back Enzo Amorey and Big Casts, and
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: they have maintained a positive relationship with several producers backstage,
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: including from their NXT days. Big Cast's aw contract is
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: reportedly set to expire at the end of May. Fight Full,
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: Fightful Select on Wednesday reported that Baron Core has finished
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: up obligations with some companies that he had been working with,
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: including MLW. He is believed to either be signed by
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: WWE or will be imminently, according to those that we
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: spoke to. But then Corbin later tweeted and mentioned that
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: he had accepted eight shows in Europe and he didn't
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: know that he was done with some of these companies.
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: Whoever is making my schedule and needs to let me
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: know this shit. I thought it was me, but apparently
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: it's not. I'm just saying WWE has a bunch of
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: European shows coming up. He could he could be a
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: little slickier with the message that he's posting, so they
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: do have a bunch of shows coming up in Europe
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: very soon. Look here's the thing. I mean, it sounds
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: very much like Corbin is going to be under the tarp.
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: We saw it again on Friday, where there's this body
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: underneath a sheet on a gurney in his little science lab,
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: and I think it's gonna end up being revealed to
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: be Baron Corbin like fucking Frankenstein rising from dead. But
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: Corbin coming back to the company is one thing. Bringing
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: Corbin in maybe as a tag team with De Jack,
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: I don't know how likely that is. They seem to
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: make a good team in MLW. You know a couple
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: of big guys who know how to work, and they
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: could get heat. They could be like a great heel team.
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: Sure you could do that. You could sign them and
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: make them a team. You can make fucking Dan Housen
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: and Baron Corbin a team if you want to, right,
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: you can make big Casts and Enzo a team and
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: reunite them and bring them back and they'll be over
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: with the crowd, right because Enzo knows how to talk
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: and that's all well, and you could do all of
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: that stuff. It doesn't matter because they don't give a
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: shit about tag team wrestling. This is what I have
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: told you repeatedly recently. And I would love to read
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: a report like this and be like, Okay, maybe they
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: recognize that there's an issue and they're going to take
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: steps to correct it. Until I see actual evidence of this, though,
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: to me, it's all bullshit. It's all bullshit. Look at
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: the state of this company right now when it comes
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: to the Tag Team Championships, they have the tag team
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: titles right now on Monday Night Raw on two single Stars.
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: On SmackDown, they have the tag team titles on two
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: single Stars. So we get this report right that they
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: want to reinvigorate the tag team division and so they're
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: considering bringing in teams from outside the company, which, by
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: the way, Brian Alvarez has since responded and said, we
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: are told that WWE does not really have much interest
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: in outside tag teams. But there are newly made teams
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: on TV like The Miz and Kit Wilson that will
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: remain so and a few names in NXT that will
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: likely be called up soon as well. Damian Priest in
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: Our Truth there's another newly made team. I assume that
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: would include them as well, and again I'm not a
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: fan of that pairing, but Priests he needs something to
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: get going again. But the point is they have both
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: sets of tag team titles on single Stars at the moment,
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: and for all this nonsense about how they want to
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: sign new teams because the division is basically dead, Yeah,
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: they want to sign new teams. Gee, if only they
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: didn't get rid of a bunch of teams. Did they
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: not just get rid of the MotorCity machine guns? Did
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: they not just squash Los Garza unnecessarily in an Obafemi
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: Open challenge a couple of weeks ago. They lost the
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: New Day. Now that wasn't their choice, but they did
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: go to them and say, hey, we want to cut
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: your pay, and they were like, fuck, you were leaving
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: good on them, So they lost the New Day. But
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: I just I'm sorry, I can't believe it until I
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: actually see this in practice and I see some real
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: effort on these television shows put into their tag team division.
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: I just read stuff like this and I just sort
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: of keep scrolling because to me, it's all nonsense. They
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: don't care about tag team wrestling. It's not a priority
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: for them. They don't think it makes them any money.
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: And that's just it's to sad reality of it. Yeah,
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: we've gone through periods in this company over the years
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: where they have put effort into the tag team division,
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: and there have been some great eras of tag team wrestling.
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: Of course, the Golden Age you want to go back
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: fucking forty years, but you don't have to go back
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: that far. You can go back to late nineties, early
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: two thousands, early two thousands, they had like a tag
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: team renaissance in this company, and it was great. But
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: they don't look at it that way anymore. Bringing in
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: Enzo Amore in Big Cast is not going to change that.
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: It's not It's not going to change anything. We're gonna
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: be sitting here in six months talking about the same
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: exact fucking thing until they finally wise up and they
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: merge the men's tag team titles back into one, because
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: there is absolutely zero need to have two sets of
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: belts right now. Zero. Vladimir the WWE Superfan, really wrestling superfan,
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: is in the hospital. This according to Mike Johnson, who
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: is one of his best friends. Mike Johnson a PW Insider.
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: He was asked to pass along the following information to
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: all of his readers on PW Insider the other day
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: by Vlad's sister. So, if Lad's been battling Parkinson's disease
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: over the last several years and one of the byproducts
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: of the disease is terrible balance issues. This past week,
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: vlad was walking with his sister when he suddenly fell,
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: striking his head on the concrete. He suffered a major
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: concussion and there was concern about bleeding on the brain,
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: but we are told that he is believed to be
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: out of imminent danger when it came to that bleeding.
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: Vlad will, however, remained hospitalized in NYC for some time
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: to come. There is no timetable for his release. Vlad's
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: sister gave me permission to pass along the words so
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: that she can ask everyone to please keep him in
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: your thoughts and prayers as he recovers. I hate hearing
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: that of Vlad's a super dude. I've had the chance
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: to meet him a few times. The last time, I'm
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: pretty sure was around the corner from Terminal five in
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: Manhattan when House of Glory did a show there a
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: few years ago. Even then he was getting around with
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: I forget if it was a cane or a walker.
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: I want to say he had a walker, but always
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: with a smile on his face. Every major wrestling event
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: of my childhood and a lot of them from my adulthood,
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: Vlad was there. You could spot him. If not in
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: the front row, he was in the first few rows.
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: WWE named him its first ever certified superfan in twenty
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: twenty one, and He was the subject of a short
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: WWE documentary called super Fan The Story of Vladimir, which
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: was released on Peacock a few years ago, and then
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: it was pulled for no reason whatsoever, no reason that
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: we were ever told. It was considered lost media basically
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: until this week when all of a sudden, after this
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: story came out, wouldn't you know, it popped up on
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: the WWE Vault channel on YouTube, which I would encourage
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: all of you to rip it off YouTube and downloaded,
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: so in case they pull it again, it won't be
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: lost media anymore. At least we'll have copies of it.
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: But right now it is on the Vault channel on YouTube.
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: It's good to see it back up. It is well
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: worth thirty seven minutes of your time. It's not that long,
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: but it's very, very good. All the best of lad
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: and here is hoping for a speedy recovery. And this
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: was sad to hear and quite shocking actually, the death
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: of Kyle Busch, the winningest driver in NASCAR history, the
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: age of forty one, on Thursday. He died after being
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: hospitalized earlier that same day with what was said to
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: be a severe illness. Three days before he was to
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: have competed at the Coca Cola six hundred rays. I
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: think he had just want to race the week prior.
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: The family was told it was a case of severe
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: pneumonia that progressed into sepsis. It was just that quick,
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: and he has survived by his wife and two children.
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: He last posted on Instagram wishing his son a happy
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: birthday and what a terrible thing to have to associate
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: now every year with your birthday. But the news comes
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: eleven days after Bush radioed his crew near the end
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: of a race at Watkins Glen asking for medical attention
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: after he finished the race. According to the TV announcers,
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: Bush had been struggling with a sinus cold that was
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: exacerbated by the intense g forces and elevation changes at
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: the course. He was sick then, and he raced right
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: through it, something that was treatable. That makes it even sadder.
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: But where wrestling ties into this is many years ago.
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: Bush served as a guest host for Monday Night Raw
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: during the infamous guest host era of the show. He
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: and another racer, Joey Logano. They co hosted the October
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: twenty sixth, two thousand and nine episode of Monday Night Raw.
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: They were out in the parking lot doing burnouts and
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: doughnuts back there before they drove into the arena. Flash
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: forward ten years he was back on Raw, this time
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: with Michael Waltrip, and he pinned Our Truth to win
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: the twenty four to seven title, which he lost back
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: to Truth later on that same night. But he is
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: officially recognized as a champion in WWE history. But a
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: very sad story. I remember all the attention that the
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: death of Dale Earnhart got and this is the closest
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: thing to that that I can think of in terms
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: of Nascar. But we'll end there nice and nice and
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: short because we got to get ready for Double or Nothing,
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: which the pre show is kicking off in just a
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: few hours, about six hours or so, five hours actually,
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: So I want to thank you for tuning in this week.
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: Got you covered, I think as far as all the
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: key stuff goes a little programming note. So tonight I
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: am going live on YouTube. It will be I'm sure,
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: very very late, but when Double or Nothing is over,
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: you can join me over on the YouTube channel for
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: the full review. I will be live this week, I believe,
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: for all the usual reviews we got Raw Monday night.
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: The post show Tuesday will be a brand new episode
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: of The Uncrowned Wrestling Show. Tuesday night will be Tuesday
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: Night Titans. Wednesday is the post double or Nothing episode
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: of Dynamite, so we'll have that post show, and then
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: Friday night we have SmackDown. Which where is smack SmackDown
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: in It'll no, it's not in Italy. They're in Barcelona.
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: I believe Smack then I believe on Friday is in Barcelona.
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: I will have to see if the stream will be
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: any earlier. It might not be. It might not be,
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: just because the back rooms is out on Friday, and
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: I am definitely gonna want to see that during the day,
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: maybe later in the afternoons. So let's just assume it'll
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: be a normal SmackDown review. Maybe I go live a
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: couple of hours earlier, but I'll keep you guys posting on.
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: I'm very much looking forward to the back rooms on Friday.
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: Follow me on Letterbox by the way, I'm on there
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: now at the Solemn Monster. But next weekend is Clash
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: in Italy. They're doing a fucking pl on a Sunday
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: at two o'clock Eastern in the afternoon, which really fucks
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: me is as far as the SoundOff goes. So the
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: plan is, I'm gonna have to do the show a
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: day early. Plus we got the big Triple A show
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: that night, so I may not be able to talk
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: about that, but I'm probably gonna record the sound off
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: a day early, so watch for that to come out
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: later on Saturday. It'll be an earlier sound off by
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: about a day. That'll be episode nine sixty five. Just
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: because it doesn't really make a whole lot of sense, right,
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: I'm not gonna have any time to get one out
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: on Sunday. Plus i'll be live after Clash in Italy anyway,
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: so that'll be wreaking some havoc with the schedule next weekend,
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: but you'll still get a sound off. I still got
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: you covered, don't worry about that. But that's what I
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: got for you. So until then, be well, stay safe,
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: have yourselves a great rest of your holiday weekend. For
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: those of you celebrating the Memorial Day weekend, I hope
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: you have better weather than we have here in New
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: York and I will see you later on tonight after
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: double or Nothing for the full recap on YouTube. Until then,
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: take care guys. The Solemn Monster sounds off backstage Phraxium
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: and the MotorCity machine Guns. Holy shit, they live. So
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: they're walking along backstage and Candice Larray approaches that. She said,
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: look at what happened to Johnny, and we see Johnny Gargano.
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: He is lying face down on top of a box
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: that has marked NXT. I want you to imagine flying
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: all the way to work and you get there and
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: you find out, Okay, boss, what am I doing tonight?
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: And your job after flying all the way in here
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: is to lay face down on top of a box
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: for two minutes and say nothing. I don't even think
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: he'd blinks. He looked catatonic as he was laying there.
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: And that's it. That's all he did on this show.
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: That was his only task, to fly into work and
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: lay on top of a box. I mean, look, I
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: guess it's not bad work if you can get it.
- 1:34:42Speaker 2: The Solo Monster sounds off, bringing you the good, the bad,
- 1:34:47Speaker 2: and the ugly. Check out the weekly live streams bonus
- 1:34:50Speaker 2: content for subscribers, and follow The Sola Monster on Facebook, Instagram,
- 1:34:54Speaker 2: and X The Solo Monster.
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: I love you so young,
