The original Candyman film spawned numerous sequels, all of which fell flat and were not true to the original. Enter the new era of Candyman was ushered in by Director Nia DeCosta and writer Jordan Peele. The movie acts as a direct sequel to the OG Candyman film and does a great job of making it so you didn't need to see it to understand the new one.
