- Lucas: Hey Luna, ready for another episode of Learn Danish with Fexingo? Luna: Ready! I've been waiting all week. What are we learning today? Lucas: Well, summer is coming, and I thought we could talk about the beach. You know, sand, sea, sun — that kind of thing. Luna: Oh, I love the beach! Let's do it. What's the first word? Lucas: The beach in Danish is 'stranden'. Say it with me: stranden. Luna: Stranden. Lucas: Perfect. And 'the sea' is 'havet'. Havet. Luna: Havet. Lucas: Great. Next, 'the sand' is 'sanden'. Sanden. Luna: Sanden. Lucas: And 'the sun' is 'solen'. Solen. Luna: Solen. Those all sound so nice. Can we make a sentence now? Lucas: Of course. Let's put two together: 'Vi er på stranden.' That means 'We are at the beach.' Vi er på stranden. Luna: Vi er på stranden. So 'vi' is we, 'er' is are, 'på' is at, and 'stranden' is the beach? Lucas: Exactly. You're catching on. Now, another useful one: 'Vandet er varmt.' That means 'The water is warm.' Vandet er varmt. Luna: Vandet er varmt. Vandet is the water, er is is, varmt is warm? Lucas: Yes. And 'varmt' changes depending on the word, but for now, just remember it as 'varmt' for water. Let's practice the whole set. Luna: Okay, let me try: stranden, havet, sanden, solen, Vi er på stranden, Vandet er varmt. Lucas: You're a natural. Let's do a little scene. Imagine we're at the beach. I'll say something, and you respond in Danish. Luna: Let's go! Lucas: Hvor er vi? Luna: Vi er på stranden. Lucas: Hvad er varmt? Luna: Vandet er varmt. Lucas: Very good. Now, you know what? A lot of listeners ask how they can support the show. If today's episode was useful to you and you want to keep it ad-free, buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo helps. That's buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: Yeah, it's a small way to keep these conversations going. We really appreciate it. Lucas: Alright, back to the beach. Let's imagine the weather. Solen skinner — the sun is shining. Luna: Solen skinner. That's beautiful. Lucas: And what about the sea? Havet er blåt — the sea is blue. Luna: Havet er blåt. Blåt is blue, right? Lucas: Yes. So now you have a whole beach vocabulary. Let's repeat the key phrases one more time. Luna: Good idea. I'll say them: stranden, havet, sanden, solen, Vi er på stranden, Vandet er varmt. Lucas: Fantastic. That's all for today. Try using these next time you're near the water. Tak for i dag, Luna. Luna: Tak for i dag, Lucas. And thank you, listeners, for joining us. See you next time!
