- 0:01Speaker 1: You set a mouthful there.
- 0:10Speaker 2: I'm going to speak to people of a certain age. Now, okay,
- 0:14Speaker 2: do you remember Faces of Death? Yes?
- 0:17Speaker 1: Oh vaguely.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:18Speaker 1: They they were death or they claimed to be real.
- 0:22Speaker 1: They were No, they weren't. No, they were all faked.
- 0:28Speaker 1: But what it was was it was a video. A video.
- 0:32Speaker 1: You go to the video store, VHS tape, and that's.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Where this movie appeared, Faces of Death, and it was
- 0:39Speaker 2: thought to be actual.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Killings of people and animals.
- 0:47Speaker 2: It was all debunked later, but the people who own
- 0:53Speaker 2: the name Faces of Death said, you know, I guess
- 0:55Speaker 2: we could make a movie.
- 0:57Speaker 1: I suppose like a real one, like a real movie.
- 1:00Speaker 1: But see, and that therein lies the problem, because you're
- 1:04Speaker 1: already out. Yeah, because yeah.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Here's here's the plot in Faces of Death, The exploration
- 1:09Speaker 2: of the of the original film's infamous is it real
- 1:13Speaker 2: or not conceit continues as a woman working as a
- 1:17Speaker 2: content moderator for a major video platform discovers what appears
- 1:21Speaker 2: to be re enactments of murders from the original film.
- 1:25Speaker 2: In an online world where nothing can be trusted. She
- 1:27Speaker 2: must determine whether the violence is fiction or unfolding in
- 1:31Speaker 2: real time, so they put out a trailer for it today.
- 1:44Speaker 2: So there was the past twenty years, I've filed the
- 1:47Speaker 2: library through many places of death. So there's a bit
- 1:51Speaker 2: of a blowout there at play repeats itself, a little
- 1:55Speaker 2: bit of black mirror idea, you know, because of technology,
- 2:07Speaker 2: the end.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Of the beginning or the beginning of the end.
- 2:12Speaker 2: There you go.
- 2:13Speaker 1: So it's April tenth is one that comes out. I wonder,
- 2:16Speaker 1: I'm looking at the trailer without sound here. Yeah, it
- 2:20Speaker 1: looks pretty scary.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, but it kind of takes all the
- 2:28Speaker 2: you know, I mean, the whole stigma around the film
- 2:30Speaker 2: was this is real.
- 2:32Speaker 3: It's kind of like when blair Witch did their blair
- 2:34Speaker 3: Witch sequel.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Exactly exactly.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Now, another trailer I wanted to show you today was
- 2:40Speaker 2: the new trailer for the latest scary movie movie, so
- 2:46Speaker 2: not Scream, but Scary Movie six with the with.
- 2:50Speaker 1: The wayns is wayns.
- 2:54Speaker 2: And i'd show it to you, but the Federal Communications
- 2:56Speaker 2: Commission has decided that you're all nine years old and
- 3:00Speaker 2: can't hear a word that you hear every day, go
- 3:05Speaker 2: and find that one. Well exactly, yeah, So go and
- 3:11Speaker 2: take a look at that. Apparently it's playing at the
- 3:13Speaker 2: beginning of Scream Scream, the latest Scream Scream. Katie didn't
- 3:19Speaker 2: see it this weekend. Let's see once again, speaking to
- 3:25Speaker 2: people of a certain age, remember the X Files? I do?
- 3:28Speaker 2: All right? Well, Ryan Kugler is in charge of rebooting
- 3:33Speaker 2: a new series of The X Files, and he has
- 3:38Speaker 2: cast Danielle Deadweiler as one of the agents. Now she
- 3:43Speaker 2: will not be playing Scully. Scully, they apparently exist in
- 3:50Speaker 2: this universe, but it's not them, but they are put
- 3:56Speaker 2: in charge of the X Files again. So it's a
- 3:59Speaker 2: Ryan Kugler project. So that should be pretty good.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Wasn't Trump releasing those files?
- 4:05Speaker 3: The X Files, you know, the Alien Files. I thought,
- 4:09Speaker 3: like a week or two ago he said he was.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Going to release We're gonna get Aliens. I'm gonna show
- 4:13Speaker 1: you the alien What happened with that? I don't know.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Now. This is also a strange little story. They've been
- 4:22Speaker 2: trying to do another G I. Joe movie for quite
- 4:25Speaker 2: some time now.
- 4:26Speaker 1: It's been a long time. It has been a while.
- 4:28Speaker 1: And uh, the second one I thought was fine. I
- 4:31Speaker 1: thought it worked out pretty well.
- 4:32Speaker 2: But they just stopped making them. So here's what's happening.
- 4:37Speaker 2: The David Ellison owned Paramount, who owns the rights to
- 4:42Speaker 2: g I Joe. This is their new business model for
- 4:45Speaker 2: making movies. They have two people, two different people write
- 4:50Speaker 2: two different scripts, okay, and then they all sit down
- 4:53Speaker 2: in a room and say, we'll take one from column A,
- 4:56Speaker 2: one from columb and then they make one script. I
- 4:59Speaker 2: don't know how that's going to work, especially with the
- 5:02Speaker 2: people that they have picked here. First of all, you
- 5:05Speaker 2: got that pos Max Landis, John Landis's Kid's a screenwriter
- 5:12Speaker 2: and director, and.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Also Danny McBride.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Okay, So what I'm thinking is is that Danny will
- 5:20Speaker 2: make the fun one. Yeah, Max will make the serious one,
- 5:23Speaker 2: and they'll stick them together so that there's jokes in
- 5:26Speaker 2: the serious one.
- 5:28Speaker 1: I don't know how that's going to work.
- 5:31Speaker 2: But they Here's the thing, though, they did this twice before,
- 5:35Speaker 2: and both of these projects failed. Twenty ten's Warner Brothers,
- 5:38Speaker 2: Tarzan Universal's The Mummy reboot in twenty ten. None of
- 5:42Speaker 2: these worked, So I don't know why they thought that
- 5:47Speaker 2: maybe this is a good idea to do this again.
- 5:49Speaker 1: I have no idea.
- 5:51Speaker 2: And finally, this you won't be able to see Avengers
- 5:56Speaker 2: Doomsday in Imax on opening weekend because Dune got their
- 6:02Speaker 2: first Dune Part three, they got first Dips.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Well, then why wouldn't they push it a week or something? No,
- 6:11Speaker 3: is it like Memorial weekend or something like that.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Well, we were hoping for some sort of Barbenheimberg kind
- 6:15Speaker 2: of a thing that happened, you know, like Done's Day
- 6:19Speaker 2: or something, but apparently not so. Yeah, I AMX premium
- 6:23Speaker 2: screen format. It's going to be not there. You'll just
- 6:26Speaker 2: have to go see it in a regular theater.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Oh darn it.
