- 0:58Speaker 5: No, that's what happens.
- 0:58Speaker 2: I'm not I'm not I'm not making any chances. I'm
- 1:01Speaker 2: not taking any chances.
- 1:02Speaker 7: I don't give these guys an hour and then it

- 1:07Speaker 4: Get more hour, got an.
- 1:08Speaker 6: Hour, I get to turn it off.
- 1:09Speaker 1: And if you're listening at home, like in your in

- 1:14Speaker 1: it's off for you.
- 1:15Speaker 5: Need everybody on airplane mode.
- 1:16Speaker 2: We know the sinister reasons. Why because we haven't written
- 1:20Speaker 2: it yet.
- 1:20Speaker 4: Absolutely, because we haven't written Have you.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Noticed the voice record? The voice record is really crazy.
- 1:28Speaker 4: It is no, it's it's It's got me thinking about
- 1:32Speaker 4: a lot of ideas. Voice recorded voice memos.
- 1:35Speaker 3: My voice, my phone's been in a voice not without
- 1:38Speaker 3: me asking all the time, send them everywhere, Like.
- 1:40Speaker 4: What if your father died in two thousand and nine,
- 1:43Speaker 4: but then you started getting voice memos from him?
- 1:47Speaker 7: Okay, well wait, wow that's a fit one vibes.
- 1:51Speaker 5: That's good.
- 1:52Speaker 6: But we like to fit ideas. We'd like to find
- 1:54Speaker 6: the fit ideas.
- 1:55Speaker 7: And it is the fit is hi everybody.
- 1:58Speaker 4: We are some of the writing the British premiere show
- 2:04Speaker 4: Black Mirror Netflix.
- 2:06Speaker 7: We love you, we love.
- 2:10Speaker 5: That, We love that.
- 2:13Speaker 4: What's a catchy noise?
- 2:17Speaker 5: Netflix?
- 2:17Speaker 2: People call us, we say hold on, just justmm's on
- 2:22Speaker 2: the phone.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Sometimes it sometimes and we'll be like, oh, so yeah,
- 2:26Speaker 1: you know the Voicemamo listens to it in the graveyard.
- 2:28Speaker 7: I think would like that. Let's throw under the bubble.
- 2:32Speaker 3: Literally we have our own language. And the writers from
- 2:34Speaker 3: good Luck Keeping Up good Luck and I.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Know at this podcast interviews so writers rooms and stuff
- 2:40Speaker 1: and they were like, oh my god, you're gonna get
- 2:42Speaker 1: like you're just going to pitch crazy ideas.
- 2:44Speaker 6: But I didn't know.
- 2:44Speaker 1: I don't really trust pitching anything in front of a machine.
- 2:49Speaker 6: We don't like machines, but we use them.
- 2:51Speaker 4: To well, we're all fascinated by them. I feel like
- 2:55Speaker 4: we're all deeply, deeply enthralled by your machine.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Ma Biac, because the machine has an awesome power that we.
- 3:05Speaker 5: Can't really fully grasp until we've written it.
- 3:08Speaker 3: And we're not just talking about machines like cars. We're
- 3:11Speaker 3: talking about things like phones and TVs too.
- 3:13Speaker 7: Yeah, mostly phones.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Yeah, we should go around.
- 3:18Speaker 7: We should go around because we should talk.
- 3:20Speaker 8: Yes, some car stuff, but it's usually when a car
- 3:25Speaker 8: becomes a little bit of a phone.
- 3:27Speaker 6: Yeah, it's like what if your car was a phone.
- 3:29Speaker 7: Yeah, yes, let's go around.
- 3:33Speaker 3: We've got to talk about Yes, Hello everyone, my name's
- 3:35Speaker 3: Cherub Wiley. I'm so happy to be here. I'm from
- 3:40Speaker 3: London and I'm Charlie Brooker's best friend. Charlie Brooker, of course,
- 3:45Speaker 3: is the head writer and creator of Black Mirror.
- 3:50Speaker 4: What a fucked up little man.
- 3:51Speaker 6: He's a strange.
- 3:52Speaker 5: Man, weird phones.
- 3:55Speaker 6: I can't even love man.
- 3:57Speaker 3: God, He said to me, Cherrup, you've got such a
- 4:00Speaker 3: weird way of texting.
- 4:01Speaker 6: Do you want to come work on the show? I
- 4:03Speaker 6: said yes.
- 4:04Speaker 3: He said you understand phones in a way I never have.
- 4:06Speaker 3: And I said, okay, I'm coming, so here I am.
- 4:10Speaker 7: And you wrote you wrote a new episode coming out.
- 4:12Speaker 7: I think we could do it.
- 4:14Speaker 6: We can talk about it.
- 4:15Speaker 1: About the reverse camera on the car, Yeah, exactly, being
- 4:19Speaker 1: in your asshole.
- 4:20Speaker 3: It's imagining if there's a new surgery when you put
- 4:23Speaker 3: the backup camera in your butt, and so everyone's looking
- 4:27Speaker 3: at the cameras instead of looking where they're going, and
- 4:30Speaker 3: they're pumping into stuff because it only shows what's belowya
- 4:33Speaker 3: and not above you, so they're knocking into things like
- 4:35Speaker 3: coat racks and stuff.
- 4:40Speaker 1: I thought that was the one car idea that we
- 4:42Speaker 1: greenlit and I liked it. It's really great because it
- 4:45Speaker 1: shows the body, and I think the body. If we're
- 4:47Speaker 1: not talking about the human body, then we're not talking
- 4:49Speaker 1: about tech.
- 4:50Speaker 6: We shot it last week. Jeremy Irons does a great job,
- 4:53Speaker 6: is it.
- 4:54Speaker 4: He was such a fascinating voice of the camera.
- 4:57Speaker 6: So great, that's so interesting.
- 4:59Speaker 7: And Nico, I'm the one from putat.
- 5:01Speaker 6: Nicole Scherzing love her. She plays the.
- 5:03Speaker 5: Camera in his assa.
- 5:06Speaker 6: It's really great, but it's really fun.
- 5:08Speaker 3: And I love working on the show because what's crazy
- 5:11Speaker 3: about it is not only is it crazy and weird,
- 5:13Speaker 3: but also it's really fun because it's the best show
- 5:16Speaker 3: that's ever been made.
- 5:17Speaker 7: I thought we'd never get to end that sentence.
- 5:24Speaker 4: Well, hello, I'll go next. I guess my name is
- 5:29Speaker 4: Richard Governim the fern buf Diggy.
- 5:35Speaker 5: Dicky the fern b.
- 5:39Speaker 4: Yes, Dicky.
- 5:40Speaker 1: We call him digcky with five GI.
- 5:44Speaker 4: I will admit now you may notice by dick bfy Dick,
- 5:49Speaker 4: I am in line for the throne for the kingdom.
- 5:53Speaker 4: I am about four hundred twenty third in line for
- 5:57Speaker 4: the throne.
- 5:59Speaker 6: And but never know, because they're all sick in different ways.
- 6:03Speaker 4: You're all very sick.
- 6:05Speaker 2: I love your little advent calendar. You get to eat
- 6:07Speaker 2: when one of them dies.
- 6:09Speaker 4: It's a very fucked up calendar that we all have.
- 6:13Speaker 6: We've got four hundred chuck let's behind all that cardboard, and.
- 6:15Speaker 7: They all go bad.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Every month. We have to cycle it out every month
- 6:21Speaker 4: the new calendar comes in. And I decided, you know,
- 6:25Speaker 4: be fun, more fun than just being a socialite royal
- 6:28Speaker 4: is if I jumped into writing. So I jumped into
- 6:32Speaker 4: the writer's room of Black Mirror, and since season two
- 6:36Speaker 4: I have not looked back. It has been enthralling and
- 6:40Speaker 4: rich and divine.
- 6:42Speaker 5: Talk about your dogs.
- 6:43Speaker 4: Okay, fine, well there's Marty.
- 6:50Speaker 1: About bringing the dogs in the room.
- 6:54Speaker 4: Marty's a Corky is a miniature poodle.
- 6:58Speaker 6: This is what you want to hear.
- 7:01Speaker 4: Devin is a rich, rich back your dogs. And then
- 7:08Speaker 4: we have Marty the German shepherd, and we have Beatrice
- 7:13Speaker 4: the corgy that's the second corgy. And then I have
- 7:17Speaker 4: about thirteen more dogs. Do you guys want to hear them?
- 7:21Speaker 5: Well, but maybe we'll hear them later.
- 7:24Speaker 4: The one that said talk about the dogs.
- 7:26Speaker 5: I want you to hold on to that because I
- 7:28Speaker 5: think there's going to be a moment where we want
- 7:30Speaker 5: them later.
- 7:31Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 7:32Speaker 7: I think that's right.
- 7:33Speaker 4: And you know this ties in the episode which I
- 7:36Speaker 4: am most famous for is the one where the dogs
- 7:38Speaker 4: are killing machines and they're hunting that couple.
- 7:41Speaker 3: They put the chip in the dog to check their
- 7:44Speaker 3: their location and it turns into an evil killing thing.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Because I think it was when I we're talking about
- 7:49Speaker 1: rescue dogs and we're talking about how oh they have
- 7:52Speaker 1: a chip in there, and it's an American thing as well,
- 7:54Speaker 1: where if you find a doll on the street, you
- 7:56Speaker 1: could see if it has a chip. And we hear
- 7:59Speaker 1: chip in body and we go, right, well, first.
- 8:03Speaker 3: We got potato chip, I'm hungry. I mean, we have lunch,
- 8:07Speaker 3: and then we think, what if the chip was a
- 8:08Speaker 3: computer chips? We hear fries and we get.
- 8:11Speaker 6: Chips to fries. Yeah where we.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Are, but yeah, you know, but we were like, oh
- 8:20Speaker 1: my god, these these dogs all have chips.
- 8:22Speaker 7: And then that just is the beginning.
- 8:23Speaker 4: It lit me up.
- 8:25Speaker 2: I mean, anytime we know of a new technology and
- 8:27Speaker 2: here we have to stop everything and go, oh, literally,
- 8:30Speaker 2: what is the end point?
- 8:32Speaker 5: It's it's like the worst thing that could happen.
- 8:35Speaker 6: It's like R and D.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Like when we hear there's something coming in, we call
- 8:39Speaker 3: and we say, hey, can we get a prototype of
- 8:40Speaker 3: the new camera? I can we get a prototype of
- 8:42Speaker 3: a new phone or whatever? And we get it in
- 8:44Speaker 3: and we go why this was in my brain, why
- 8:46Speaker 3: this was in my hand? What this was in my
- 8:48Speaker 3: less and then we write an episode about it.
- 8:50Speaker 1: A little something that has a GPS, any type of
- 8:53Speaker 1: anything like that coming to us is like, I don't
- 8:56Speaker 1: know John Lennon going through heartbreak.
- 8:58Speaker 4: It's like, you know, Wow, it's so electric, is what
- 9:02Speaker 4: I think.
- 9:04Speaker 1: So do you want to introduce yourself him? Mummy here, mummy,
- 9:11Speaker 1: m you, m m y.
- 9:15Speaker 5: Yes, mummy.
- 9:18Speaker 1: To say, oh no, no, no, I'm not a mom. Mummy.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Call her he babes, call her mummy.
- 9:32Speaker 7: All right.
- 9:33Speaker 2: So yeah, I do love your podcast.
- 9:37Speaker 5: By the way, call her mummy.
- 9:38Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 9:39Speaker 5: I'm trying.
- 9:39Speaker 7: I'm trying to get off the ground. Is so odd.
- 9:41Speaker 4: It's so good.
- 9:42Speaker 5: It's so good.
- 9:44Speaker 1: But anyway, I have to say, I've been in the
- 9:46Speaker 1: writers room. I think the same amount of time a
- 9:48Speaker 1: little bit. We're all together. And I when I was little,
- 9:55Speaker 1: I had a inappropriate relationship with my flip firm.
- 10:02Speaker 7: I wrote a piece on it. That piece went viral.
- 10:05Speaker 4: I remember this piece.
- 10:07Speaker 6: It was superforming at Fringe.
- 10:09Speaker 7: Yeah, I did it Fringe and I did.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Because my parents were busy and working, and I created
- 10:17Speaker 1: a whole family with my flip phone.
- 10:19Speaker 4: It was so interesting how the flip phone was perceived
- 10:23Speaker 4: in your Fringe festival show.
- 10:25Speaker 7: Yes big my Motorolla boyfriend, Yes, my Motoroller. So anyway,
- 10:30Speaker 7: I'm a little bit of it like an artist.
- 10:32Speaker 1: But I started writing when they recruited me and I
- 10:35Speaker 1: met you folk, and it's been lovely.
- 10:37Speaker 7: I love you all.
- 10:39Speaker 6: You wrote a lot of the episodes where you go, oh,
- 10:41Speaker 6: guess nothing happened in that one?
- 10:44Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 10:46Speaker 2: Nice, you can perceive it through the lens of technology.
- 10:51Speaker 5: Yeah, And then I'm watching it.
- 10:54Speaker 1: I believe a story should end where it began, nothing happened.
- 10:57Speaker 6: I love it.
- 10:58Speaker 7: I love that this something about it.
- 11:00Speaker 4: It's just like, wow, can we talk about your episode
- 11:04Speaker 4: coming out soon? Where the couple just gets in a
- 11:06Speaker 4: light text fight and then they resolve it over text.
- 11:09Speaker 4: It was and they're never in the same room. At
- 11:11Speaker 4: the same time, I thought it was a genius commentary
- 11:15Speaker 4: all the times now Domo Gleason and Clearfoy.
- 11:24Speaker 5: Clairefoy as the neo baby.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Girlfriend my god, and that conversation. I also want to
- 11:30Speaker 1: thank we had so many good like artists in there.
- 11:33Speaker 1: I think we had Bonnie Vere do the music that
- 11:36Speaker 1: was amazing.
- 11:37Speaker 5: Heartbreaking heart normally and music.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Will be heartbreaking, but he's doing fun stuff now giving
- 11:45Speaker 3: up a heartbreaking We were trying of sad.
- 11:47Speaker 6: Said happy stuff. We said that's not what we called jack.
- 11:50Speaker 1: I know it's so weird, weird, but yeah, that's all
- 11:53Speaker 1: about me and my dark I have a.
- 11:55Speaker 5: Duck and your your deck.
- 11:58Speaker 7: You're dark? Do I have a duck?
- 11:59Speaker 5: You're a a duck. It feels like it.
- 12:08Speaker 7: Wasn't enough for you when you changed it a little bit.
- 12:10Speaker 2: And I literally it just got me thinking. It got
- 12:16Speaker 2: me thinking, you know, the translating apps, this is I
- 12:21Speaker 2: love her. You hear what a foreign person saying. It
- 12:25Speaker 2: spits it out in English, But how do you know
- 12:27Speaker 2: it's what they meant?
- 12:28Speaker 1: And how do you know it's not somebody up there
- 12:30Speaker 1: or down there manipulating it?
- 12:35Speaker 2: The man in hell changing all the things from from
- 12:40Speaker 2: from German to English.
- 12:42Speaker 7: And and I think that happened just now.
- 12:45Speaker 1: I said I have a duck, right because you were
- 12:46Speaker 1: talking about your dogs and I said I have a
- 12:49Speaker 1: And I think a little guy down there said, what
- 12:52Speaker 1: if I funk up these interview?
- 12:54Speaker 5: And he said, I'm gonna tell her it's deck, or.
- 12:57Speaker 7: What if the mic took my voice and changed it.
- 13:01Speaker 5: We've gotta write that.
- 13:09Speaker 2: If the microphone made it different, Listen, we gotta lock in,
- 13:14Speaker 2: lock in, We've got to lock in can tell you
- 13:16Speaker 2: that was.
- 13:16Speaker 1: A perfect transition to my fucking best friend in the
- 13:20Speaker 1: entire in the room.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Mummy and I have a b F F necklace we carry, babes.
- 13:31Speaker 7: The necklace is a.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Mass It's a massive necklace, one necklace. We hand it
- 13:35Speaker 2: back and forth each week.
- 13:37Speaker 6: It's so cute the start of this last week.
- 13:42Speaker 2: I love your babies. I'm obsessed with you. I'm obsessed
- 13:45Speaker 2: with the I have and it carries me with me
- 13:48Speaker 2: every day. Hi, my name is baby Angel.
- 13:51Speaker 9: I am Baby Angel who.
- 13:58Speaker 4: Terrum beef dick.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Beefe dick baby for me.
- 14:09Speaker 5: Jerup, and that's the it is my real name.
- 14:13Speaker 4: Would you guys quickly change it to Dicky beef and
- 14:18Speaker 4: beefy dick Dickie beef.
- 14:20Speaker 10: Alright, Angel, I want to say, I don't want to
- 14:26Speaker 10: blow smoke up Baby Angels booty, but blow it, babes.
- 14:33Speaker 6: She writes the one episode one or two every season
- 14:36Speaker 6: where you go, WHOA, that was really fucked up?
- 14:41Speaker 5: Yes, And I can tell you. I can tell you why.
- 14:44Speaker 2: It's because when I was a nanny, I was nannying
- 14:46Speaker 2: for some posh kids and I've been I've been doing
- 14:50Speaker 2: that for my me life, right, and so one day,
- 14:55Speaker 2: I was putting a little one in her in her
- 14:58Speaker 2: crib and I I heard a bird then fell down, right.
- 15:03Speaker 5: So I don't wait wait you.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Know what I'm so I heard a bird fell down.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Then I got a concussion, right, And as I was
- 15:15Speaker 2: fading in and out of consciousness, I locked eyes with something,
- 15:19Speaker 2: something that kinda looked like an eyeball, kinda looked like
- 15:22Speaker 2: a person, kind of looked like a screen.
- 15:25Speaker 7: Was it the bird?
- 15:27Speaker 5: So it was a nanny camum.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Bum bum bum bum watching me all day, all night.
- 15:37Speaker 2: And so they were on holiday, right, So the parents
- 15:40Speaker 2: didn't come back for another week, And so I.
- 15:42Speaker 4: Was parents for a week.
- 15:49Speaker 7: What are you talking about?
- 15:56Speaker 4: We use a nanny, not for a week, Jesus on vacation.
- 16:02Speaker 4: Take your child, to take your child to Mauritius.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Continue well, I so you know, I'm fading out of consciousness,
- 16:14Speaker 2: fading in and out, in and out. I'm hearing the birds,
- 16:16Speaker 2: I'm hearing the I'm seeing the eyeballs, and I'm noticing
- 16:20Speaker 2: I'm surveiled all day long and who's behind that? And
- 16:25Speaker 2: I just started thinking, and I just started cooking, and
- 16:28Speaker 2: I could stop cooking until they came. They take me
- 16:31Speaker 2: took me to the hospital and I was telling the doctors,
- 16:36Speaker 2: your phone is a microwave. Your phone is your head,
- 16:39Speaker 2: Your phones your vein, you phones your mind, babes, your
- 16:41Speaker 2: phones your head. Your phone's in your eyeballs, your phone's
- 16:44Speaker 2: in your throat, your phone's in your ears. And they said,
- 16:47Speaker 2: I have a contact for you. And who was in
- 16:50Speaker 2: the next er getting a donating blood But Charlie Booker.
- 16:54Speaker 5: Wow, amazing.
- 16:55Speaker 6: Yeah, Charlie goes straight to the.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Are an emergency because that way you don't have to
- 17:03Speaker 1: wait for blood.
- 17:04Speaker 7: Drive, babes, you just stopping, you.
- 17:06Speaker 5: Just take you straight to the source. It's fresher that way.
- 17:09Speaker 6: And I said, they don't tell you, but they'll take it.
- 17:11Speaker 5: They'll take you.
- 17:12Speaker 7: We're gonna go and then they're gonna.
- 17:13Speaker 6: Be like, no, it's amazing.
- 17:19Speaker 5: You said, It's like, yeah, what are you mad about it?
- 17:23Speaker 7: What are you?
- 17:24Speaker 5: I'm here at the ear I want to give blood.
- 17:26Speaker 5: You need blood.
- 17:27Speaker 4: I did want to address the elephant in the room.
- 17:31Speaker 4: We've been getting a lot of comments that we've been
- 17:33Speaker 4: doing too much phone stuff, a.
- 17:35Speaker 6: Lot of comments too much.
- 17:40Speaker 7: In Charity's episode.
- 17:42Speaker 1: There's no one phone, babes. It's that's a that's a
- 17:44Speaker 1: preis camera the asshole babes.
- 17:46Speaker 3: It's about a camera, it's about in your body, it's
- 17:49Speaker 3: not about a phone.
- 17:51Speaker 1: And what about the episode where the typewriter is an angel? Exactly,
- 17:55Speaker 1: there's a typewriter as an angel.
- 17:57Speaker 2: When the typewriter is an angel, one of your episodes
- 18:00Speaker 2: where it feels and it feels like it's just a
- 18:02Speaker 2: gorgeous story of two women love typing poems to.
- 18:06Speaker 6: Each I get because that tape place and it tony.
- 18:09Speaker 3: Yeah, I would argue that typewriters were their phones of
- 18:12Speaker 3: it to ninety.
- 18:13Speaker 1: See, but no, see, that's where the conversation happened. And
- 18:15Speaker 1: this is for the listener at home. The conversation started
- 18:18Speaker 1: because we were like I believed I thought about a
- 18:21Speaker 1: typewritere of being like, wow, that was somebody that didn't
- 18:24Speaker 1: have a microphone.
- 18:24Speaker 7: They weren't listening. A typewriter never listens.
- 18:28Speaker 2: A phone is really anything that you're not present for, right.
- 18:31Speaker 4: And these are the debates that we're having. We're sitting
- 18:34Speaker 4: there for hours and hours and hours going is a
- 18:37Speaker 4: typewriter the phone of the eighteen?
- 18:40Speaker 1: And then I had and I had v one over
- 18:42Speaker 1: to baby Angel and baby angel goes, well, what if
- 18:45Speaker 1: the typewriter is an angel, but she's doing cocaine all
- 18:48Speaker 1: the time.
- 18:49Speaker 3: It's it's we're locked up because we're trying to expand, right, like,
- 18:54Speaker 3: Black Mirror is more than just the phone.
- 18:57Speaker 6: So we like to go and look at different eras.
- 18:59Speaker 3: We're working on medieval episode right now, but we can't
- 19:02Speaker 3: figure out what's the phone of the medieval time.
- 19:04Speaker 7: I think it is the sword.
- 19:07Speaker 4: It might be the pro the raven.
- 19:10Speaker 5: It might be the loom for women and the swords
- 19:14Speaker 5: for men.
- 19:16Speaker 1: But then we go back and then we go can
- 19:18Speaker 1: we put a phone in it?
- 19:20Speaker 6: It's a different thing.
- 19:21Speaker 3: We have an episode I wrote that King Arthur finds
- 19:23Speaker 3: a phone in the lake instead of a sort.
- 19:26Speaker 7: Pulls it out the rock.
- 19:28Speaker 4: It didn't go through, unfortunately.
- 19:29Speaker 6: Didn't go through.
- 19:30Speaker 7: Jason Amaua did a great job.
- 19:32Speaker 3: Jason was amazing. He came in just for the writer's
- 19:36Speaker 3: room table. We have to talk about it. Every actor
- 19:40Speaker 3: wants to be in Black Mirror, yes, but we have
- 19:43Speaker 3: to also tell you slow your role.
- 19:46Speaker 5: I think we know what is.
- 19:47Speaker 1: I think all these American actors want to come in
- 19:49Speaker 1: and do it because it's a perfect amount for a
- 19:51Speaker 1: holiday it's a week and a half. You're on set
- 19:53Speaker 1: for like six seven days depending on the size of
- 19:57Speaker 1: the role.
- 19:57Speaker 7: So we get tons of these let's talk about the
- 20:00Speaker 7: can actor.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Sometimes we're getting the American actors and they're you know,
- 20:03Speaker 2: they're coming in with pitches and so because we had
- 20:06Speaker 2: we got so many, so much interest that we're like, you, actually,
- 20:10Speaker 2: if you want to be in a Black Mirror episode,
- 20:11Speaker 2: and this is an advice for all you A and
- 20:13Speaker 2: B listers out there, come to us with your phone.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Sir Patrick Stewart came in and he's like, listen, I
- 20:20Speaker 2: think my phone is a quill and a madman.
- 20:25Speaker 7: That's my phone, a madman with a quill in his hand.
- 20:28Speaker 4: And then we go, well, let's see your phone, and
- 20:30Speaker 4: we look at his algorithm and it is revolting stuff.
- 20:39Speaker 4: He's watching things that.
- 20:41Speaker 7: And he's watching it all on Facebook.
- 20:43Speaker 4: Yes, and you can see his public light and.
- 20:45Speaker 5: He's reposting yes is it.
- 20:47Speaker 7: Then there's people like the Rizza come in. They really
- 20:49Speaker 7: want him to do Netflix really wants him to do that.
- 20:51Speaker 4: Netflix is really pushing.
- 20:54Speaker 7: And we can't.
- 20:54Speaker 1: He's not giving us the phone. The dad isn't giving
- 20:57Speaker 1: us the phone. We can't really go for what we're
- 20:59Speaker 1: supposed to do.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Big Justice actually has a lot of phone ideas, but
- 21:02Speaker 2: unfortunately it's not his time.
- 21:04Speaker 6: Well, that was a really dark day.
- 21:06Speaker 3: We had to try and pitch ideas to put a
- 21:08Speaker 3: J Big Justice, and that is learning an episode and
- 21:11Speaker 3: we couldn't.
- 21:11Speaker 4: Comment about a J Big Justice and the resul are
- 21:14Speaker 4: like because for me, the most interesting thing is their lives,
- 21:17Speaker 4: you know, the famous Yes, we couldn't comment on their
- 21:21Speaker 4: lives famous.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Remember the cash register made of clicks and if they
- 21:26Speaker 1: paid the rent with clicks, right.
- 21:28Speaker 4: Exactly, the clicks with clicks.
- 21:31Speaker 7: And like and you open the cash register and they
- 21:33Speaker 7: pay the rent with that, right.
- 21:34Speaker 3: But it was interesting because you had a TikTok and
- 21:37Speaker 3: you put your TikTok on the scanner and it took
- 21:39Speaker 3: your clicks away.
- 21:42Speaker 6: Yes, so if you want to buy something, you have
- 21:44Speaker 6: to lose the view.
- 21:45Speaker 5: And you could also pay on credit.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Right, So if you had a TikTok draft that your
- 21:49Speaker 2: shore is going to be viral, you can pay with
- 21:51Speaker 2: the draft, but you got to pay interest as well.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Yes, And I don't know why they said more pizza
- 21:56Speaker 1: stuff and push it for more people is called a derivative.
- 22:05Speaker 4: Actually might go home.
- 22:07Speaker 5: You know, we gotta take this.
- 22:08Speaker 4: It was both derivative and way too complicated.
- 22:12Speaker 5: It was too much.
- 22:12Speaker 4: It was like follow the metaphor once it started going.
- 22:15Speaker 3: But this does bring up the question for me always
- 22:18Speaker 3: thinking about emotional it's really hard to write black mirror
- 22:24Speaker 3: because technology has gone so much faster than we are.
- 22:27Speaker 3: And we write something and oh, that just happened. You know,
- 22:30Speaker 3: somebody tries to kill themselves reviews all that just happened.
- 22:35Speaker 4: How can we hold a mirror to society when society
- 22:39Speaker 4: is constantly reflecting itself in a weird, removed parody sense.
- 22:44Speaker 7: So that's why I think they.
- 22:45Speaker 1: I think our production company moved our writers. Like now
- 22:50Speaker 1: we are writing pretty much for like four days straight
- 22:53Speaker 1: because there's no time because if we if we take
- 22:56Speaker 1: breaks something, these things tech goes fast.
- 23:00Speaker 2: And that's why we have We have a bunch of
- 23:02Speaker 2: PA's are wonderful PAS. Shout out to Lilah and Sarah
- 23:06Speaker 2: Grace who are stationed in Silicon Valley. We have your
- 23:10Speaker 2: teaching stationed Silicon a PA outpost, and they are listening.
- 23:17Speaker 5: For buzz, for rumors for board meetings.
- 23:21Speaker 2: They're walking around in disguise and they're relaying, Oh, you know,
- 23:25Speaker 2: metals coming out with some glasses that can tell when
- 23:28Speaker 2: your food's done.
- 23:29Speaker 7: And boom, that's giving us gas gasoline And.
- 23:33Speaker 4: Then we run, yes, like, what are we going to
- 23:36Speaker 4: do with that? Meta is coming out with glasses they're
- 23:38Speaker 4: tell when your food's ready.
- 23:43Speaker 2: It's clearly it's sync to your oven with some type
- 23:46Speaker 2: of cloud technology.
- 23:47Speaker 5: We know that.
- 23:48Speaker 2: So if there's a cloud and the cloud makes your food,
- 23:53Speaker 2: do the tech companies control what you're eating?
- 23:55Speaker 4: Then yes, exactly yes. And are you eating not food anymore?
- 24:00Speaker 4: You just eating for nutrition sake? And we can tie
- 24:02Speaker 4: in body build a culture.
- 24:03Speaker 3: And what's about What if you can hack the Prime
- 24:06Speaker 3: Minister's oven and undercook his chicken and kill him?
- 24:10Speaker 5: Wow?
- 24:11Speaker 8: Wow, future in the future.
- 24:25Speaker 1: What about have you seen the smart fridges with the
- 24:27Speaker 1: big tablet in front? Yes, what if you can hack
- 24:30Speaker 1: in to the Prime Minister's fridge and and and change
- 24:34Speaker 1: the degrees of the fridge and make the milk back
- 24:38Speaker 1: not lightly, turn every the toilet during a parliament meeting
- 24:42Speaker 1: and get him out.
- 24:43Speaker 4: Yes, you're not holding his daughter captive anymore, you're holding
- 24:47Speaker 4: his fridge. God, oh my god.
- 24:52Speaker 2: And they'll never know because to him his servants. They
- 24:55Speaker 2: go in, they pull out the meal, but little do
- 24:57Speaker 2: they know, we've hacked it to put peanuts sauce in
- 25:00Speaker 2: thet But he's scored a peanut allergy. And these tech
- 25:03Speaker 2: companies they all thinking.
- 25:05Speaker 5: About us, are they?
- 25:06Speaker 1: And that's all And it's all because of Sarah Grice
- 25:09Speaker 1: and the ABU and Lilah in Silicon Vae.
- 25:12Speaker 6: I have to stop for a second. I'm sorry, baby Angel.
- 25:16Speaker 3: I don't think they have technology to put peanuts so
- 25:19Speaker 3: some something.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Hey, guys, I want to talk to you about today's
- 25:24Speaker 2: sponsor on sponsor, on sponsor, on sponsor.

- 26:53Speaker 5: No, don't show by Angel Soul in my concussion. It's
- 26:58Speaker 5: going to happen.
- 27:00Speaker 6: Fridge doesn't have hands.
- 27:02Speaker 7: We were talking about like chicken being undercooked and milk
- 27:05Speaker 7: being bad.
- 27:06Speaker 2: And I think I think you're under maestimating the power
- 27:08Speaker 2: of a fridge. You've gotta understand where the technology is
- 27:16Speaker 2: undermestimated where the fridge can go, because if it has
- 27:19Speaker 2: ketch up in there, if it has peanut, if it
- 27:22Speaker 2: has butter.
- 27:27Speaker 7: Maturbating, you think I'm over mastimating.
- 27:31Speaker 1: You guys just're over masturbating because you think a fridge
- 27:34Speaker 1: can add ingredients.
- 27:35Speaker 5: No, y'all are ready for what's coming.
- 27:40Speaker 7: And this is why baby Angel is like the Devil and.
- 27:46Speaker 2: The Angel I studied abroad in Texas. Y'all are not
- 27:50Speaker 2: ready for what is coming. And this is the biggest
- 27:53Speaker 2: fight we get into the writer's room because sometimes I
- 27:56Speaker 2: feel you guys are imagining things that are happening five
- 27:59Speaker 2: years the future, and I think I'm imagining things that
- 28:02Speaker 2: are happening five hundred years in the future.
- 28:04Speaker 5: It's incredible.
- 28:05Speaker 4: Community.
- 28:06Speaker 7: Five hundred is too far, say too many.
- 28:12Speaker 4: Residut If we're.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Right, If we're right in six hundred years, people watch
- 28:18Speaker 2: Black Mirror and they'll go.
- 28:19Speaker 5: We were profits. They'll worship us like gods. Don't you
- 28:23Speaker 5: understand they.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Would say that if we did fifty years in advance,
- 28:25Speaker 1: not even fifty, like even ten five hundred years.
- 28:30Speaker 3: Angel, you're so worried about people that are going to
- 28:32Speaker 3: be alive when you're dead, thinking about what you're doing.
- 28:36Speaker 6: It's not gonna matter if they think we're gods, they're not.
- 28:38Speaker 5: Will be gone. I just want to be.
- 28:43Speaker 7: You're again.
- 28:45Speaker 5: You're want to be important?
- 28:48Speaker 1: Okay, speaking of being important and being live and dead,
- 28:53Speaker 1: what happens if grave yards and tombstones, yes towards tech.
- 29:01Speaker 4: They start showing your most viral videos on your gravestone.
- 29:06Speaker 7: What if the thing that had the most clear you're most.
- 29:08Speaker 4: Known for on your gravestone, or.
- 29:12Speaker 3: If you got the like the full body scanners like
- 29:15Speaker 3: the t s A at the airport, and you take
- 29:18Speaker 3: them to the corpses in the graveyard and you scan
- 29:21Speaker 3: them and see if they're angel come into people so
- 29:23Speaker 3: somebody can talk to them, so you can turn somebody
- 29:26Speaker 3: in the graveyard into a person.
- 29:28Speaker 2: So every corpse as an AI actor in front of it,
- 29:33Speaker 2: saying hey, it's.
- 29:35Speaker 3: Like a grave rob right, hologram, it's like grave robbers,
- 29:40Speaker 3: but grave rubbers not stealing gems or crystals from someone's corpse.
- 29:44Speaker 6: They're stealing their entire identity, you're putting it on the cloud,
- 29:47Speaker 6: and then what about this right?
- 29:49Speaker 5: Right?
- 29:49Speaker 1: Then it's a fad, right, and then it's and it
- 29:52Speaker 1: grows and grows, and then you can go to the
- 29:55Speaker 1: to the gravestone and you can see the body of
- 29:58Speaker 1: your loved one right lying there, and you can lay
- 30:00Speaker 1: on top of it and feel the warmth.
- 30:02Speaker 8: Right.
- 30:04Speaker 1: So then we zoom out the end of the episodes,
- 30:06Speaker 1: a bunch of living people laying down like the dead.
- 30:09Speaker 6: But the scary thing is.
- 30:10Speaker 3: They're laying on transformers and processors, and the corpses themselves
- 30:15Speaker 3: are be a crush to dust.
- 30:16Speaker 7: So the bodies are diet but the process servers.
- 30:21Speaker 4: Yes.
- 30:21Speaker 7: And then and then and then a little girl wakes
- 30:23Speaker 7: up and it was a dream.
- 30:24Speaker 4: Oh no, we don't need that start that you were
- 30:33Speaker 4: really onto.
- 30:33Speaker 6: Going the climax?
- 30:36Speaker 7: Oh, come on, I love ending it in a stupid spot. God,
- 30:41Speaker 7: you know, you know.
- 30:42Speaker 5: But this has me thinking, has me thinking, say.
- 30:48Speaker 12: Think, I'm thinking about what are you think if if
- 30:56Speaker 12: the dead, if the dead love, if the dead have ideas,
- 31:01Speaker 12: if the dead have ideas.
- 31:03Speaker 2: What's to stop a grizzled old man with writer's block
- 31:07Speaker 2: from going to the graveyard to steal ideas from the dead.
- 31:11Speaker 4: So when do they have ideas? Is the AI?
- 31:14Speaker 6: Yes, so so a I.
- 31:16Speaker 7: Digg don't get the weeds.
- 31:19Speaker 4: I'm getting.
- 31:23Speaker 6: Thoughts. Whack the weeds. I am in whack.
- 31:36Speaker 5: Dicki's Sticky's weeds.
- 31:38Speaker 2: No, because Dickie had a great idea earlier that we
- 31:41Speaker 2: couldn't quite relate to because it was a little bit
- 31:43Speaker 2: above our socioeconomic income bracket.
- 31:46Speaker 8: But it was.
- 31:50Speaker 5: You know, you were like, what if chauffeurst could hear
- 31:53Speaker 5: your thoughts?
- 31:55Speaker 4: And we were I said, would you be crazy to
- 32:02Speaker 4: connect wild if chauffeurs could hear your thoughts? And and
- 32:08Speaker 4: you all looked at me with the blankest eyes I've
- 32:11Speaker 4: ever seen.
- 32:12Speaker 5: It's kind of And then.
- 32:13Speaker 4: You looked at me and said, talk about your dogs again,
- 32:15Speaker 4: And I said, Okay, here we go. There's Marty the
- 32:20Speaker 4: Golden Retriever about eight.
- 32:23Speaker 1: Okay, say the rest, but I'll say this, it is
- 32:26Speaker 1: hard to connect with some ideas, babes, because they are
- 32:29Speaker 1: like so fast, Like you said, like you came in
- 32:31Speaker 1: the other day and you're like, God, my smartphone, my
- 32:34Speaker 1: smart toilet won't update, and I can't watch an episode
- 32:38Speaker 1: of the Crown.
- 32:38Speaker 4: And you said, is that a pitch, and I said, no,
- 32:40Speaker 4: that's just my money.
- 32:41Speaker 5: It's pitch.
- 32:48Speaker 4: You guys always go to me. I said, my private
- 32:54Speaker 4: airline charter got sick and I showed up ten minutes late,
- 32:58Speaker 4: so I fired him. Or a bit.
- 33:00Speaker 7: All I heard is no phone, that's a beach.
- 33:04Speaker 5: Should we play pitchel bitch a quick.
- 33:12Speaker 4: The dogs?
- 33:13Speaker 5: You got pitchrol bitch and honestly.
- 33:16Speaker 4: You have the thing the episodes, remember.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Honestly needed a reminders black Mar his concussions.
- 33:27Speaker 5: All right, pitch, old, bitch, bitch, bitch. First give us
- 33:32Speaker 5: a scenario and we have to think if it's pitch
- 33:36Speaker 5: or bitch?
- 33:36Speaker 6: Are you pitching an episode? Are you complaining about your life?
- 33:40Speaker 4: Okay, so this has just happened to my friend. He's
- 33:44Speaker 4: a little bit poorer than the rest of us, but
- 33:46Speaker 4: he bought this wonderful new coat. He bought this new coat.
- 33:50Speaker 4: He wore it to a party and everybody was complimenting
- 33:53Speaker 4: his coat. That when he went back home, he looked
- 33:55Speaker 4: at all of his things and realized he needed to
- 33:58Speaker 4: upgrade every single thing. He had just gotten a lot
- 34:01Speaker 4: of money from the king because he's an encyclopedia writer,
- 34:05Speaker 4: so he wrote these encyclopedia writers very poor for a
- 34:08Speaker 4: long time. The King comes in and gives him two
- 34:13Speaker 4: hundred thousand dollars to buy his encyclopedia. He buys a
- 34:19Speaker 4: beautiful I honestly thought these would be short. So this
- 34:23Speaker 4: is what happened to my friend Finish And so then
- 34:28Speaker 4: he realizes looks around his house all of his things
- 34:30Speaker 4: are poor. So he goes bankrupt and into debt buying.
- 34:37Speaker 4: Bitch pitch or bitch bitch.
- 34:39Speaker 6: There's not a single technology.
- 34:43Speaker 5: It's caught something bitch because there's no phone.
- 34:46Speaker 4: Such a bitch bitch. Too many diamonds on your encrusted phone.
- 34:52Speaker 4: You're trying to look for the background of a good
- 34:54Speaker 4: diamond phone.
- 34:55Speaker 5: This could be a bitch.
- 34:56Speaker 4: That's a pitch, pitch, it's a bitch.
- 35:00Speaker 5: Got this again happening to you?
- 35:02Speaker 4: Wow?
- 35:03Speaker 10: Wow?
- 35:03Speaker 13: Wow?
- 35:04Speaker 3: I have to say, you know, I think there's a
- 35:06Speaker 3: lot happening in our lives where we turn them into episodes.
- 35:10Speaker 3: You know, we experience technology every single day, and the
- 35:15Speaker 3: question is do you want them to be hopeful or negative?
- 35:19Speaker 4: Well, I remember because you had that when you went
- 35:22Speaker 4: to Glastonbury and met that man who ended up being
- 35:25Speaker 4: a phone.
- 35:26Speaker 6: Yes, I was three days.
- 35:28Speaker 3: Into the Glastonbury Music Festival, I was having a class.
- 35:32Speaker 6: I was listening to Tim and prot you met a.
- 35:34Speaker 5: Man who was a phone?
- 35:35Speaker 1: And I remember we had we'd break it to you
- 35:37Speaker 1: because you sent in the group text writer's group text
- 35:39Speaker 1: a picture.
- 35:39Speaker 6: I met my friend.
- 35:43Speaker 7: We went, oh god, I was quite charb that's not
- 35:46Speaker 7: a person. That's a phone.
- 35:47Speaker 3: I was quit simply out of my gord on and
- 35:51Speaker 3: I was talking to this thing forever. I thought it
- 35:54Speaker 3: was my new best friend.
- 35:55Speaker 5: Did you ever find the person whose phone that is?
- 35:59Speaker 4: No?
- 36:00Speaker 6: Because kept the phone?
- 36:01Speaker 5: You kept it because did you fall in love with
- 36:03Speaker 5: it a little bit? Babes?
- 36:04Speaker 6: Well, I made out with it. I kissed it.
- 36:07Speaker 5: I kissed the phone.
- 36:08Speaker 3: I was hanging out with the phone and we were
- 36:11Speaker 3: dancing together, and then it's gorgeous. I didn't have a
- 36:15Speaker 3: plug that worked for it, so I couldn't charge it,
- 36:19Speaker 3: so I buried it in the ground.
- 36:21Speaker 5: Well, that's the soldest thing I've ever heard.
- 36:24Speaker 3: I wonder loss of my love. My love was a phone,
- 36:27Speaker 3: and that's why I wrote an episode about it.
- 36:32Speaker 2: So it's like it's like almost like these you know,
- 36:35Speaker 2: sex love robots, but the companies, the manufacturing to make
- 36:41Speaker 2: the skin was too expensive, so they just thought, what
- 36:43Speaker 2: if we put a chip in everyone's brains that makes
- 36:46Speaker 2: them see phones as sexy ladies exactly.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Speaking of sexy ladies, did you hear that they're making
- 36:53Speaker 1: sex toys with WiFi?
- 36:58Speaker 5: What do you mean?
- 37:02Speaker 6: What do you play? Like music or something you can watch?
- 37:07Speaker 6: So it's a deal?
- 37:10Speaker 7: Yeah, and I think that's pretty scary, don't you.
- 37:13Speaker 6: So it's like the screens on the back of the
- 37:15Speaker 6: deal though, like if you're using.
- 37:17Speaker 7: Are you're watching it?
- 37:21Speaker 1: I'm sorry happy you think that's a bad thing, because
- 37:24Speaker 1: that's nothing to jump on because I'm gonna tell you
- 37:26Speaker 1: this right now, that's this close to what we've always
- 37:28Speaker 1: been talking about people fucking computers, Darling.
- 37:31Speaker 6: I'm not I'm not judging. I'm confused.
- 37:34Speaker 3: We just have.
- 37:40Speaker 5: Just trying to Do you think the shape of the
- 37:42Speaker 5: screen part of the dildo?
- 37:47Speaker 4: It?
- 37:48Speaker 7: Yes, so can issue where the dildo isn't to be specific?
- 37:53Speaker 7: All right?
- 37:55Speaker 5: I realized we've been planning down a lot.
- 37:57Speaker 1: But we might not list I'm holding a big dildo
- 38:01Speaker 1: in the middle of my past miles legs crazy and
- 38:06Speaker 1: like almost like one of those TV remotes. It's kind
- 38:09Speaker 1: of rectangle a little bit at the top, big screen.
- 38:18Speaker 7: You can connected.
- 38:19Speaker 4: I'm just wondering what the complexion of society is.
- 38:22Speaker 7: I just think it's crazy that that you can hack
- 38:25Speaker 7: the prime minister's.
- 38:26Speaker 4: Dil though and JJ.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Every episode a little boy wakes up and a little
- 38:35Speaker 1: boy wakes up and he was on a walk the
- 38:37Speaker 1: whole time, a little.
- 38:39Speaker 4: Boy on TV. We can't have a little boy dreaming about.
- 38:44Speaker 6: Because he's twelve.
- 38:45Speaker 5: He's actually thirteen, Dick, come on old enough.
- 38:50Speaker 7: Being an adolescent and feeling things. And it's connected to
- 38:54Speaker 7: a screen bait.
- 38:55Speaker 2: Okay, actually, actually if because you're my best friend, you're
- 39:00Speaker 2: my best friend.
- 39:02Speaker 5: Where you're going with this? Someone hacks the prime minister's.
- 39:06Speaker 4: First that's what you've got.
- 39:10Speaker 6: That's what many angels go.
- 39:15Speaker 7: Someone acts a prime minister the prime minister's dial.
- 39:17Speaker 2: Do say I'm the prime minister of Let's say. Let's
- 39:21Speaker 2: say I'm the Prime Minister of Japan and I'm having a.
- 39:24Speaker 4: Don't have one.
- 39:25Speaker 5: Let's say I'm the Emperor of Japan. Is that all right?
- 39:29Speaker 4: President?
- 39:30Speaker 2: President, say I'm the President of Japan and I'm having
- 39:34Speaker 2: a trade disagreement with the UK.
- 39:36Speaker 7: President we have a trade disagreement.
- 39:37Speaker 5: Good, and we're having a trade disagreement.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Thinking you know, medals are worth ten percent, You're thinking, no,
- 39:42Speaker 2: medals are worth fifteen percent.
- 39:44Speaker 5: So it's boring stuff, right.
- 39:46Speaker 2: But let's say the Prime Minister of Japan takes it
- 39:49Speaker 2: a little too far and he says, I'm going to
- 39:51Speaker 2: hack him too the dial do yes, and I'm going
- 39:54Speaker 2: to talk directly to.
- 39:55Speaker 14: Him when he's the most vulnerable a trade agreement.
- 40:00Speaker 4: You will agree to the trade talking to somebody when
- 40:04Speaker 4: the most vulnerable. That was an interesting phrase. I like that.
- 40:07Speaker 14: Maybe the com is the agreement, and then the com
- 40:17Speaker 14: is the agreement.
- 40:18Speaker 5: We understand each other. I knew exactly where you were.
- 40:21Speaker 6: Want to stop him? I don't mean to stop you.
- 40:23Speaker 3: Is this an alternate reality where everyone knows about everyone
- 40:26Speaker 3: else's deal.
- 40:27Speaker 4: Those and the prime minister has deal?
- 40:29Speaker 6: Okay?
- 40:30Speaker 7: I can't believe we're bringing in logic.
- 40:33Speaker 1: When people can hack into the Prime Minister's microwave, they
- 40:36Speaker 1: can also its appliances.
- 40:38Speaker 6: I can understand you have a microwave. You don't just
- 40:40Speaker 6: naturally assume everyone has to deal.
- 40:42Speaker 8: Well.
- 40:43Speaker 7: I think in twenty twenty seven we will.
- 40:47Speaker 2: Because I think five hundred years from now mark my words,
- 40:49Speaker 2: dial doos would be mandatory.
- 40:51Speaker 5: I think it will be mandatory. I think I, like you, sorry,
- 40:55Speaker 5: just have to own them.
- 40:56Speaker 1: I think, just like just like women getting the right
- 40:59Speaker 1: to it will be true in the future that all
- 41:03Speaker 1: people must own a dial and what you do with
- 41:05Speaker 1: it is your business.
- 41:06Speaker 7: And it will be fog.
- 41:08Speaker 6: And that's what's crazy.
- 41:12Speaker 3: Well, sometimes I walk home, you know, because it's a
- 41:15Speaker 3: forty minute walk for me home, and I don't trust
- 41:18Speaker 3: cars anymore.
- 41:19Speaker 6: So I walk home and I.
- 41:20Speaker 3: Think, Wow, based on what we're talking about, the future
- 41:23Speaker 3: could go any which way, right, Like we're thinking about
- 41:27Speaker 3: that future.
- 41:28Speaker 4: Really hard to catch a tangent before it goes off
- 41:31Speaker 4: in the rider. The future changes something for hours and
- 41:36Speaker 4: hours and hours, and it blows our mind. And when
- 41:38Speaker 4: we write it down on paper, the beat by beat,
- 41:40Speaker 4: it makes absolutely no sense to the human being, but
- 41:43Speaker 4: we all understand.
- 41:43Speaker 1: It's like the conversation that all the way Mos had
- 41:46Speaker 1: that we wrote yes when the way most way more pro.
- 41:57Speaker 6: It was a beautiful coming a live store with automatic car.
- 42:01Speaker 2: There's two way mos trying to park in the same spot,
- 42:04Speaker 2: and then one of them says, you know what, I'm
- 42:06Speaker 2: actually feeling a connection here.
- 42:08Speaker 4: Do you want to go to mo Prom with me?
- 42:10Speaker 6: It was really cute.
- 42:11Speaker 3: It was eight couples of Way More cars standing in
- 42:14Speaker 3: front of a big house on the stairs taking pictures.
- 42:17Speaker 6: And then they all gotten the biggest limo you've ever
- 42:20Speaker 6: seen because.
- 42:22Speaker 7: Now they were they're wearing more parents.
- 42:25Speaker 1: But but I then my favorite part about the my More,
- 42:30Speaker 1: my favorite part about the Way Moore.
- 42:33Speaker 5: God, do you get in the hack.
- 42:36Speaker 4: Hacked?
- 42:37Speaker 1: No?
- 42:37Speaker 4: I think it was just.
- 42:39Speaker 7: Do you feel hack?
- 42:41Speaker 2: No?
- 42:41Speaker 10: All right?
- 42:42Speaker 7: So I think in the Way More Prom episode, my favorite.
- 42:46Speaker 1: When it ends and they're all these single people in
- 42:49Speaker 1: each Way More humans sitting there slowly dying, no food,
- 42:57Speaker 1: no water, in the car of a robot and that
- 43:01Speaker 1: robot is living life.
- 43:03Speaker 6: And I loved I loved the ending of that because
- 43:06Speaker 6: it made you think, what what's this talk about?
- 43:09Speaker 13: It?
- 43:10Speaker 4: It was so interesting because it was It really ended
- 43:13Speaker 4: with huh, trying to say because we could have said
- 43:18Speaker 4: so many things, but we really didn't land on any
- 43:22Speaker 4: We wanted to write the.
- 43:23Speaker 5: Cars like cars for or something. It was like we
- 43:27Speaker 5: wanted to write us all Lightning mc queen companion story
- 43:30Speaker 5: a little bit.
- 43:32Speaker 4: So many things like what is humans personification of an automodic,
- 43:36Speaker 4: like we're adding a lot of feelings to these little.
- 43:39Speaker 2: When we outsource fun to robots who are experiencing life
- 43:43Speaker 2: for us.
- 43:43Speaker 4: But they're not actually experiencing it because they're not experience
- 43:47Speaker 4: because robots can't experience.
- 43:49Speaker 1: Yeah, and then what happens is we have these good
- 43:51Speaker 1: crucial conversations and then we just kind of go just
- 43:55Speaker 1: end it in something weird.
- 43:56Speaker 6: I've got a favorite thing I like to do in
- 43:57Speaker 6: the writing with all of you. It's really fun. Remember
- 44:00Speaker 6: when we like to try to.
- 44:01Speaker 3: Pretend like we put the chips on our brain and
- 44:04Speaker 3: we go because that's such a big part of our
- 44:07Speaker 3: show toobody put something on and then they go into
- 44:09Speaker 3: the cloud and then they jump up like they're scared
- 44:12Speaker 3: of something.
- 44:13Speaker 6: I love to try it. Do you want to see
- 44:14Speaker 6: what I do?
- 44:15Speaker 4: Yes?
- 44:15Speaker 6: Yes, okay, I'll give you this show.
- 44:25Speaker 5: Where did you go?
- 44:26Speaker 3: I imagine that went back in time and it dinos
- 44:28Speaker 3: So it was trying to eat my butt, eat.
- 44:31Speaker 5: Your butt your boat like a snack. That's crazy.
- 44:38Speaker 3: You keep on trying try and jumping on your bar
- 44:43Speaker 3: like a lion's bar, like a like a box of smarties.
- 44:46Speaker 4: I keep on thinking you're trying to pitch a new
- 44:48Speaker 4: butterfly theory type of thing. But you keep on just
- 44:50Speaker 4: pitching that. You go back, a dinosaur almost eat you
- 44:56Speaker 4: when you crush you know, when you affect the rest
- 44:59Speaker 4: of history, and you go, no.
- 45:00Speaker 3: It's just it wouldn't change the history, wouldn't It wouldn't
- 45:03Speaker 3: change the future because.
- 45:04Speaker 6: If I went back to the present, I wouldn't have
- 45:06Speaker 6: a butt.
- 45:09Speaker 7: Wait, oh my god, the future cherub.
- 45:15Speaker 5: That might be.
- 45:15Speaker 2: So that actually might be. If we have to we
- 45:24Speaker 2: in this in our writer's room, we have to follow
- 45:26Speaker 2: the rabbit hole, right.
- 45:29Speaker 1: Just follow the rabbit hole, because the rabbit hole is human.
- 45:32Speaker 1: If it goes quickly and the end is there, that's
- 45:35Speaker 1: the internet. And no, but the rabbit hole is the human,
- 45:38Speaker 1: and go down.
- 45:38Speaker 6: I think it's rabbits. Rabbit hole is actually a rabbit.
- 45:45Speaker 6: I don't think a rabbit hole isn't head of the human.
- 45:48Speaker 6: I think it's rabbit.
- 45:48Speaker 7: I think it's a human. I think a rabbit has
- 45:52Speaker 7: a beating heart. Just like, can you say everything okay?
- 45:55Speaker 7: And this is just an acting exercise.
- 46:03Speaker 6: You close your eyes, oh.
- 46:09Speaker 4: Whoa, whoa. Definitely in your episodes.
- 46:15Speaker 5: It was so subtle. Where'd you go.
- 46:18Speaker 1: Then an uns installed all the tree and American store
- 46:22Speaker 1: that's closed down.
- 46:25Speaker 7: I feel I shouldn't have gone second because I don't
- 46:27Speaker 7: really know what to do with.
- 46:28Speaker 5: No, that's exactly what. Okay, I'll put I'll put the
- 46:31Speaker 5: chip in. Okay, where'd you go?
- 46:37Speaker 7: Where'd you go?
- 46:37Speaker 5: I went into let us.
- 46:41Speaker 4: Up your explanation. I really liked it the same noise.
- 46:45Speaker 2: It's efficiency, right, it's efficiency.
- 46:49Speaker 5: So I had to alarm, and I thought, what if
- 46:53Speaker 5: someone's hackening into the close and.
- 47:00Speaker 4: Watch this?
- 47:01Speaker 5: Why someone tacking into the clothes, right, and they're turning
- 47:04Speaker 5: all the whites to pinks? What if a red agent?
- 47:09Speaker 7: Lunder machines can't do that sometimes, but what if they did.
- 47:12Speaker 5: It on purpose?
- 47:14Speaker 6: What if?
- 47:15Speaker 4: What is the what you're trying to say?
- 47:17Speaker 2: So, so what I'm trying to say is what if
- 47:19Speaker 2: there were nefarious people who wanted to upset the prime minister?
- 47:26Speaker 4: And again it's the prime minister. I would just love
- 47:30Speaker 4: we started with a metaphor or an idea, rather than
- 47:33Speaker 4: choosing an object and saying how could it affect the primesgu're.
- 47:37Speaker 1: Talking about easier Raimo prom had nothing to do with
- 47:40Speaker 1: the prim.
- 47:42Speaker 4: And I really enjoyed way Moore, and we just don't
- 47:50Speaker 4: know what it is.
- 47:51Speaker 2: What do you think we should take it back to
- 47:52Speaker 2: the editing bay and see if we could maybe find
- 47:55Speaker 2: some new meaning in way more problem.
- 47:57Speaker 3: Okay, okay, ready, stop, there's a Patreon you need to
- 48:04Speaker 3: get into. It's the artist on, artists on artists and
- 48:06Speaker 3: artist Patreon.
- 48:07Speaker 5: Drop whatever you're holding, run to your computer.
- 48:11Speaker 2: The patreon is full of bonus post show activities we've done.
- 48:16Speaker 2: We've done the Oscar draft where we pick our picks

- 48:24Speaker 2: in your hands, Halt, do not proceed. Proceed immediately to
- 48:28Speaker 2: your laptop and sign up for the artists on, Artists
- 48:31Speaker 2: on artists patron on Patreon on Patron.
- 48:38Speaker 4: Okay, I'll try this.
- 48:40Speaker 13: Oh the moment before way, where'd you go that sex
- 48:52Speaker 13: show up?
- 48:52Speaker 2: That it was like you were take in a communion wafer,
- 48:55Speaker 2: that was like you the am Oh this is good.
- 49:01Speaker 4: Because when you become a machine, was like to be
- 49:04Speaker 4: a machine.
- 49:04Speaker 5: And what do you feel as the machine?
- 49:07Speaker 6: Nothing?
- 49:09Speaker 5: Whoa Oh Now this gives me dread. This gives me dread,
- 49:16Speaker 5: and I think we can use it.
- 49:17Speaker 7: Yes, all right, Now go down the rabbit hole, go
- 49:19Speaker 7: down the human.
- 49:21Speaker 4: As much as we want to personify feelings, pain, anything,
- 49:27Speaker 4: on a machine, they feel nothing.
- 49:31Speaker 5: So so I'm a lady. I'm a lady.
- 49:32Speaker 2: Right, I'm alone on Valentine's Day. All my friends are
- 49:36Speaker 2: out with the boyfriends.
- 49:37Speaker 5: I want to fall in love. I want to fall
- 49:43Speaker 5: in love with something so bad. So I go to
- 49:46Speaker 5: my microwave.
- 49:49Speaker 7: And then ready already ring ring, ring, ring ring inside.
- 49:55Speaker 2: My phone is ringing inside the microwave, ring, And I'm
- 49:58Speaker 2: confused because I checked.
- 50:00Speaker 5: I put it on the popcorn setting. It's hot, right,
- 50:02Speaker 5: So I reach in my phone's hot.
- 50:04Speaker 7: Ring pick it up, ready, and it takes out.
- 50:06Speaker 4: Hello, it is the Prime Minister.
- 50:10Speaker 5: Now, I say, Prime Minister, what are you doing alone
- 50:13Speaker 5: on Valentine's Day? Don't you busy?
- 50:16Speaker 7: I could ask you the same question, don't you don't
- 50:20Speaker 7: you So.
- 50:21Speaker 4: I'm just wondering, just right away, I'm wondering, how does
- 50:24Speaker 4: this tie in the machine still feel anything? Love? Right?
- 50:28Speaker 5: So I'm in love.
- 50:30Speaker 2: I've start going on dates with this phone microwave. But
- 50:32Speaker 2: I'm start going on dates I following. I only know
- 50:42Speaker 2: the Prime Minister through the phone.
- 50:43Speaker 4: Microwave.
- 50:45Speaker 2: So take meet my mom, taking to meet me part right,
- 50:47Speaker 2: and we're talking, we're falling in love, we're getting married.
- 50:50Speaker 5: But then he unboots, he doesn't reboot, doesn't reboot.
- 50:58Speaker 6: And then I heard that tone before that, and.
- 51:01Speaker 5: That's right.
- 51:03Speaker 4: To me.
- 51:04Speaker 5: It makes sense to me. And that's when.
- 51:06Speaker 2: So you're sitting in there after you're married, and you're
- 51:09Speaker 2: sitting in there with your phone microwave in your marriage bed.
- 51:12Speaker 4: And you're thinking your marriage.
- 51:14Speaker 5: You think it should not feel.
- 51:15Speaker 2: Something, but you can't because the robot doesn't feel. And
- 51:20Speaker 2: that's the lesson.
- 51:21Speaker 4: Oh okay, okay, I like that.
- 51:25Speaker 7: Put it on the.
- 51:27Speaker 1: Way more car karaoke okay, okay, okay, way more karate okay.
- 51:40Speaker 2: And so there's two rabbit holes before you, way more
- 51:50Speaker 2: karaoke and way more karate?
- 51:52Speaker 4: Which one do you want to find that? And I
- 51:53Speaker 4: want to say none of them lead to the prime Minister.
- 51:58Speaker 3: This actually is a clear itea because we do choose
- 52:01Speaker 3: your adventure episodes on Netflix, so we could do karaoke
- 52:07Speaker 3: or karate.
- 52:08Speaker 6: You Amo, you are a moo.
- 52:11Speaker 7: Do you want to sing a song or do you
- 52:12Speaker 7: want to hit away moo?
- 52:13Speaker 4: Okay?
- 52:14Speaker 5: So I want to sing a song.
- 52:17Speaker 4: Okay, so what happens now? I don't know.
- 52:24Speaker 5: I want to sing a song, did you go?
- 52:29Speaker 4: So you end up in a Thai restaurant with a
- 52:31Speaker 4: bunch of and the other dogs and the other dogs, yes,
- 52:36Speaker 4: and all my dogs. There's Charlie's, there's Devin's, and they're
- 52:40Speaker 4: all saying, go go, it's your time to sing. And
- 52:43Speaker 4: now it's your turn to sing. So you try to
- 52:45Speaker 4: select a song and what happens is you start singing
- 52:49Speaker 4: your favorite song. We've got a million different songs. Believe me,
- 52:52Speaker 4: the rights are gonna be amazing for this rich, abundant right,
- 52:57Speaker 4: a lot of justin Timberlake songs. And you start singing,
- 53:01Speaker 4: and you sing with your whole heart. You're singing into
- 53:04Speaker 4: your television remote. And there's a moment where we cut
- 53:08Speaker 4: to a live feed of weaimos and they are lightly
- 53:11Speaker 4: trying to park. And in that moment, you realize you're
- 53:14Speaker 4: singing to your TV alone in your own house, as
- 53:19Speaker 4: a bunch of waimos in San Francisco try to park.
- 53:21Speaker 6: And that's the black mirror, right, because the black mirror
- 53:24Speaker 6: is the black screen that you see yourself in, but
- 53:27Speaker 6: it's your screen.
- 53:28Speaker 4: Wow, it's good.
- 53:30Speaker 6: It's good. I had an idea.
- 53:33Speaker 4: I would love to literally.
- 53:34Speaker 3: See Waymo car Karate talk about how robots said and
- 53:40Speaker 3: and machines don't feel right. So maybe I was thinking,
- 53:44Speaker 3: I don't know, like a scientist in charge of creating
- 53:48Speaker 3: a new AI. But he had a flawed relationship with
