Latest / THE WORLD'S BEST PREACHER / Instinct to Increase - Part 2 - The Potter’s House of Dallas
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: This might be the message that changes the next 10,
- 0:03Speaker 1: 20 years of your life. If you're on the internet,
- 0:07Speaker 1: you ought to call somebody. You ought to tweet somebody.
- 0:10Speaker 1: You ought to text somebody. Tell them you do not
- 0:12Speaker 1: want to miss what the bishop is about to share
- 0:15Speaker 1: with you this morning. Sometimes it's the littlest things, the
- 0:19Speaker 1: slightest adjustments, that if we make the proper adjustment, we
- 0:23Speaker 1: can go into another dimension. You can stop a whole
- 0:26Speaker 1: car and break it down over a small adjustment. It
- 0:29Speaker 1: doesn't have to be a big thing to overthrow you,
- 0:30Speaker 1: but if you don't have it, It'll stop you from
- 0:32Speaker 1: reaching your destiny. I'm going to be talking this morning
- 0:36Speaker 1: about the instinct to increase. The instinct to increase. The
- 0:48Speaker 1: instinct to increase. You might not have known heretofore that
- 0:53Speaker 1: there is an association between your instinct and and your increase.
- 0:59Speaker 1: But when I finish with this text today, you're going
- 1:02Speaker 1: to be clear about what ought to be happening on
- 1:05Speaker 1: the inside to make things change on the outside. Increase
- 1:10Speaker 1: is on the outside, but instinct is on the inside.
- 1:14Speaker 1: And if you don't have instinct on the inside, you
- 1:17Speaker 1: can't have increase on the outside. But I got good
- 1:20Speaker 1: news for you. You can change it this morning. Greetings
- 1:30Speaker 1: in the precious name of our Lord. And I want
- 1:32Speaker 1: to give a special shout out to all of you mothers,
- 1:34Speaker 1: you sheroes, who carry so many crosses and so many
- 1:38Speaker 1: loaves for your children and for your spouse. And many
- 1:42Speaker 1: of you are taking care of your own mothers and
- 1:44Speaker 1: you just wear so many hats and do so many jobs.
- 1:46Speaker 1: I just pray that God bless you beyond gifts and
- 1:49Speaker 1: flowers and cards and all the wonderful things that I
- 1:52Speaker 1: hope you have today. I hope you get a spiritual
- 1:54Speaker 1: blessing too, that kind of thing that nobody else can
- 1:56Speaker 1: give you but God. We're going into a series that
- 1:59Speaker 1: we started last week called Open Doors. Many of you
- 2:02Speaker 1: are excited about this word. I've shared it around the country.
- 2:05Speaker 1: It is the instinct to increase. It is so important
- 2:10Speaker 1: that you have that instinctivity to understand that God has
- 2:14Speaker 1: placed certain things in your hands, certain opportunities, certain gifts,
- 2:18Speaker 1: certain talents. You are gifted. What you do with that
- 2:22Speaker 1: gift and how you use that gift will determine the
- 2:25Speaker 1: next part of your life. I want to open a
- 2:29Speaker 1: door into the portal of God's wisdom and let you
- 2:32Speaker 1: perceive the instinct to increase. Take a look. He gave
- 2:41Speaker 1: them five. The same men had the same status, had
- 2:46Speaker 1: the same master, and they had something else. They had
- 2:53Speaker 1: something else. He gave them talents, all the men talents,
- 2:58Speaker 1: but they were not the same talents. Five, two, and one.
- 3:04Speaker 1: One other thing he gave each of them that is
- 3:07Speaker 1: not written in the text, but is implied in the text,
- 3:10Speaker 1: and if you overlook it, you will miss the power
- 3:12Speaker 1: of the text. He gave them an opportunity. Amen. There
- 3:22Speaker 1: is nothing in the world as wonderful as to have
- 3:28Speaker 1: been given an opportunity. So many people wait in the wings,
- 3:36Speaker 1: chewing at the bit, patting their foot, waiting on an opportunity.
- 3:43Speaker 1: An opportunity is an invisible thing that if you don't
- 3:47Speaker 1: discern it instinctively, it will not be mentioned in the text.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Because opportunities are a matter of perception. You must have
- 3:56Speaker 1: a revelation to see a moment as an opportunity. An
- 4:00Speaker 1: opportunity will not walk up to you and say, hello ma'am,
- 4:03Speaker 1: I am an opportunity. And if you're not careful, you
- 4:11Speaker 1: will become so distracted by the inequities of life that
- 4:15Speaker 1: you won't even notice that the opportunity has been given
- 4:18Speaker 1: to you because you are distracted by the comparison to
- 4:22Speaker 1: such a dimension that you don't see what is in
- 4:25Speaker 1: front of you as an opportunity. I'm going to tell
- 4:28Speaker 1: you how deeply veiled an opportunity may become. Opportunities are
- 4:33Speaker 1: so often veiled that not only are they invisible, they
- 4:38Speaker 1: often come before you in the form of opposition. Did
- 4:46Speaker 1: you hear what I said? I said to you that
- 4:51Speaker 1: opportunities often come to you draped in the suit of opposition.
- 4:56Speaker 1: And if you don't perceive it correctly, you won't benefit
- 4:59Speaker 1: from it correctly because you don't understand that the opposition
- 5:03Speaker 1: is just a suit, but up under the coat is
- 5:06Speaker 1: an opportunity. I, I, I, I can't go too deep.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Time won't allow me. But you see, when the waves
- 5:16Speaker 1: come in and the winds are blowing and the ocean
- 5:19Speaker 1: has produced high waves and you see masses of people
- 5:22Speaker 1: jumping in cars, filling up tanks full of gas, trying
- 5:26Speaker 1: to get away from what they perceive as an opposition,
- 5:29Speaker 1: you will see a few people running toward what everybody
- 5:34Speaker 1: else is running away from. And they've got surfboards because
- 5:38Speaker 1: what is other people's opposition? If you got a surfboard,
- 5:42Speaker 1: it's an opportunity. And I'm wondering, are you running away
- 5:47Speaker 1: from what you think is an opposition because you don't
- 5:50Speaker 1: see it correctly as an opportunity? Oh, y'all don't want
- 5:53Speaker 1: to talk to me. I walk like this. This is
- 6:02Speaker 1: how I do it. I think better when I walk.
- 6:04Speaker 1: And when I start playing with my coach, you're in
- 6:06Speaker 1: real trouble. There's something about my brain and the bottom
- 6:11Speaker 1: of my coat that we've been playing around for about
- 6:14Speaker 1: 30 some years. Yeah. Yeah. This is my hidden stash. Yeah.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Let's be clear in our understanding of how the master
- 6:25Speaker 1: has delegated talents. He has not delegated talents on a
- 6:28Speaker 1: preferential basis. No. No. He has given unto them according
- 6:32Speaker 1: to their ability. Ah, next point. He has given unto
- 6:38Speaker 1: each of them according to their ability, not his preference.
- 6:42Speaker 1: He didn't prefer one slave above another. He assessed the
- 6:47Speaker 1: ability before he released the level of opportunity. He knew
- 6:55Speaker 1: what you could handle before he gave it to you.
- 6:59Speaker 1: So he does not expect you to be excellent on
- 7:03Speaker 1: a level you cannot handle. He has assessed your capacity
- 7:08Speaker 1: to handle the opportunity before he released you the opportunity
- 7:13Speaker 1: so that he doesn't waste a five blessing on a
- 7:16Speaker 1: two man. Somebody holler, I can handle it. So if
- 7:28Speaker 1: you are a two-capacity person with a two-talent opportunity, all
- 7:34Speaker 1: you got to do is work that thing on your level. Yes.
- 7:39Speaker 1: I don't know who I'm talking to this morning. Frankly,
- 7:42Speaker 1: I don't even know what I'm talking about because you
- 7:45Speaker 1: have to take the text and cut it to the
- 7:48Speaker 1: continuity of your situation. But I do know that the
- 7:52Speaker 1: Lord woke me up this morning to tell you to
- 7:55Speaker 1: work that thing.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Amen.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Work it on your level, baby. Work it on your level.
- 8:01Speaker 1: If you're on a two level, don't complain about being
- 8:04Speaker 1: a two, but just stand back and work. Hit your
- 8:14Speaker 1: neighbor and tell them, I'm getting ready to work that thing.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Getting ready to work that thing. I'm getting ready to
- 8:22Speaker 1: work that thing. I'm getting ready to work that thing.
- 8:25Speaker 1: I'm getting ready to work that thing. This is my
- 8:28Speaker 1: season to work that thing. I'm going to work it
- 8:31Speaker 1: on my level. I'm going to be the baddest 70-year-old woman.
- 8:34Speaker 1: I'm going to be the baddest 40-year-old man. I'm going
- 8:38Speaker 1: to be the toughest 20-year-old you ever saw in your life.
- 8:42Speaker 1: I can't work with what I don't have, but I'm
- 8:46Speaker 1: going to work that thing. on my level somebody shout
- 8:51Speaker 1: in this house everybody hear me shout yeah oh yeah
- 9:03Speaker 1: oh yeah warn all the haters I'm getting ready to
- 9:07Speaker 1: work that thing Weren't all your enemies. I'm getting ready
- 9:10Speaker 1: to work that thing. I'm not responsible for what God
- 9:13Speaker 1: gave you. I'm responsible for what God gave me. And
- 9:17Speaker 1: if I perceive it to be mine, don't get mad
- 9:20Speaker 1: when I work what he gave me. I'm getting ready
- 9:30Speaker 1: to work that thing, baby. Yes, I am. Somebody say, yes,
- 9:36Speaker 1: I am. Sit down. We're just talking. We're just talking.
- 9:39Speaker 1: We're just hanging out. It's just you and me at
- 9:41Speaker 1: Starbucks drinking a latte. Yeah. Stop complaining. because you're getting older.
- 10:02Speaker 1: And work that thing. Work that thing. Find the joys
- 10:07Speaker 1: of where you are. Find the joys of what you got.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Find the joys of this season in your life and
- 10:14Speaker 1: work that thing. If you work your youth, work your
- 10:18Speaker 1: old age, work your middle age, whatever God gave you,
- 10:22Speaker 1: work that thing. Work it. Work... Oh, y'all don't hear me.
- 10:29Speaker 1: If he thought enough of me to give me the opportunity...
- 10:35Speaker 1: The least I can do is to work that thing.
- 10:40Speaker 1: There's nothing worse than somebody who's been given an opportunity
- 10:45Speaker 1: and they don't take advantage of the opportunity God gave them.
- 10:49Speaker 1: And you're jealous of everybody else, but you ought to
- 10:53Speaker 1: be angry at yourself because you didn't work what he
- 10:57Speaker 1: gave you when he gave it to you on your level.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Work now.
- 11:05Speaker 3: Still to come on the potter's touch.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Five guy is thinking how can i make this more
- 11:12Speaker 1: two guys saying how can i make this four the
- 11:16Speaker 1: one guy is so preoccupied with survival that he misses
- 11:22Speaker 1: success because he has a survivalist mentality and he thinks
- 11:28Speaker 1: that success is surviving And not succeeding. And that's why
- 11:32Speaker 1: his life hasn't gotten any further than it's gone. Because
- 11:36Speaker 1: he has misdefined success. Because he sees success. Watch this.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Through the sunglasses of fear. Masses of people jumping in cars,
- 11:48Speaker 1: filling up tanks full of gas, trying to get away
- 11:51Speaker 1: from what they perceive as an opposition. You will see
- 11:54Speaker 1: a few people running toward what everybody else is running
- 11:59Speaker 1: away from because what is other people's opposition is an opportunity.
- 12:04Speaker 2: I see an open door. Opportunity lies before me. I've
- 12:09Speaker 2: changed my view. The gifts he laid within before time
- 12:13Speaker 2: began gives me the goods to win. I see an
- 12:17Speaker 2: open door.
- 12:18Speaker 1: If he thought enough of me to give me the opportunity,
- 12:23Speaker 1: the least I could do is to work that thing.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Others may run from what I run to. aligning my
- 12:31Speaker 2: purpose to his will. I attack like a warrior, scale
- 12:34Speaker 2: walls like a soldier, marching in line, never diverting the path.
- 12:37Speaker 2: I've done the math. God is greater.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Because you handled the opportunity correctly, you were able to
- 12:44Speaker 1: move into the next dimension.
- 12:46Speaker 2: I have the ability, right, permission to enter in. So
- 12:49Speaker 2: look to the hills from which cometh your help. Can
- 12:52Speaker 2: you see? Can you see your open doors?
- 12:56Speaker 3: Identify and seize your God-given opportunity for increase. For your
- 12:59Speaker 3: best gift, Receive Open Doors, three insightful messages on DVD.
- 13:04Speaker 3: And when your gift is $ 125 or more, you will
- 13:07Speaker 3: also receive Bishop Jake's new books, Are You Ready? and
- 13:10Speaker 3: God's Provision. Visit our website or call 1-800-BISHOP-2 today.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Tell somebody to say, work that thing. Somebody just got
- 13:22Speaker 1: a word from the Lord they're going to work that thing.
- 13:24Speaker 1: they're going to work that thing. They're going to work
- 13:26Speaker 1: that thing. I'm going to work it. If I'm a
- 13:28Speaker 1: big woman, I'm going to work being a big woman.
- 13:30Speaker 1: If I'm a little skinny man, I'm going to work
- 13:32Speaker 1: that thing. If I'm creative, I'm going to work that thing.
- 13:35Speaker 1: If I'm intellectual, I'm going to work that thing. If
- 13:38Speaker 1: I have great personality, I'm going to work that thing.
- 13:41Speaker 1: If I got suave, I'm going to work that thing.
- 13:44Speaker 1: If I got swag, I'm going to work that thing.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Whatever I've been gifted with, it ain't over till you're
- 13:56Speaker 1: I think this might be the perspective you need to
- 14:00Speaker 1: take to take full advantage of the gift you have
- 14:04Speaker 1: been given. Stop sitting on that thing and work. Work
- 14:14Speaker 1: that thing. Work that thing. Work it on your level.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Work that thing. Need a job? Can't find one? Start one.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Work that thing. Work that thing. Work that thing. Work
- 14:33Speaker 1: that thing. God, I feel like I'm talking to somebody.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I can't hardly get off the point. I can't hardly
- 14:39Speaker 1: get off the point. Work it. See, people don't understand
- 14:44Speaker 1: that you have to work what you have been given.
- 14:50Speaker 1: They keep waiting for a finished product to come. Finished
- 14:58Speaker 1: products don't come to you. God doesn't give you oak trees.
- 15:03Speaker 1: He gives you acorns. If you don't perceive that the
- 15:09Speaker 1: oak tree is in the acorn, you will throw away
- 15:12Speaker 1: the acorn and keep praying for the oak tree. And
- 15:15Speaker 1: God already answered you. The tree is in the acorn,
- 15:19Speaker 1: but you got to work that thing. But because you
- 15:27Speaker 1: don't perceive it as valuable, because it doesn't look recognizable,
- 15:30Speaker 1: because it doesn't come to you in the form you
- 15:33Speaker 1: had imagined it, maybe you hid what you should have worked.
- 15:46Speaker 1: You're not working that thing. Sit down. I'm going to
- 15:47Speaker 1: work this text a little bit more. I'm going to
- 15:49Speaker 1: work that text. I'm going to work that text. I'm
- 15:51Speaker 1: going to work that text. I'm going to work that text.
- 15:53Speaker 1: I'm going to work that text. I'm inviting you into
- 15:59Speaker 1: the annals of my thinking to walk around the chambers
- 16:04Speaker 1: of my mindset when I read this text in the
- 16:07Speaker 1: hope that I may drop something for you that you
- 16:10Speaker 1: might glean as precious and take it home with you.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Walk with me through the corridors of this text while
- 16:17Speaker 1: we discuss the demographics of an opportunity between a master
- 16:22Speaker 1: and his slave. And he divided unto them according to
- 16:30Speaker 1: his ability. So the master has put more thought into
- 16:35Speaker 1: it than the slave. The slave is entering into something
- 16:40Speaker 1: that the master has pre-thought. The master was thinking about
- 16:46Speaker 1: giving the gift when the slave never knew it. So
- 16:51Speaker 1: the master was watching your abilities. Before he gave you
- 16:59Speaker 1: the opportunity. Warning, warning, warning. The master's always watching. And
- 17:11Speaker 1: if you prove your ability in something that you think
- 17:16Speaker 1: is minute through which you don't understand that that minute
- 17:22Speaker 1: thing you have been given is a catalyst through which
- 17:26Speaker 1: his next decision will be made. Let me stop playing
- 17:34Speaker 1: with this text and go on. So he said, he
- 17:38Speaker 1: gave one five and he gave one two and he
- 17:42Speaker 1: gave one one. And then he took his journey into
- 17:47Speaker 1: a far country. And the one who had five looked
- 17:54Speaker 1: at it And listen at his mentality says, how can
- 17:59Speaker 1: I make this more than it is? How can I
- 18:09Speaker 1: make this more than it is? Listen at how he thinks.
- 18:17Speaker 1: So the one who had five looked at it. He
- 18:19Speaker 1: didn't get distracted by the fact. Look at how much
- 18:22Speaker 1: more he gave me than you. Because he's not racing
- 18:27Speaker 1: against you. He's racing against the creativity that exists inside
- 18:33Speaker 1: of himself. People who race against other people always stumble.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Because you can't run forward looking sideways. What you want
- 18:44Speaker 1: to do is run against the training that you put in,
- 18:47Speaker 1: the strength you've got, the dexterity you've got. You know
- 18:51Speaker 1: your machine. You know what your body will do. And
- 18:53Speaker 1: you're running against your ability, not his. You can't run
- 18:57Speaker 1: ahead looking sideways trying to prove to your sister that
- 19:01Speaker 1: your husband can make more money than hers, trying to
- 19:04Speaker 1: prove to your mama that you made it in spite
- 19:06Speaker 1: of what she said. You're going to trip in a minute.
- 19:09Speaker 3: Amen.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Five, two, one. How can I make this more? And
- 19:21Speaker 1: to the one who had two, he looked at his
- 19:23Speaker 1: two and he said, I believe I could turn this
- 19:29Speaker 1: into four. How can I make this more? I believe
- 19:38Speaker 1: I could turn this into four. The one who had
- 19:43Speaker 1: one Said, I've been gifted too. I don't want no trouble.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Eyes don't want no trouble, boss. If the mouse will
- 20:03Speaker 1: come back tonight, eyes don't want no trouble. If you
- 20:10Speaker 1: don't want no trouble, you don't want no increase. Five
- 20:34Speaker 1: guy is thinking, how can I make this more? two
- 20:39Speaker 1: guys saying, how can I make this four? The one
- 20:42Speaker 1: guy is so preoccupied with survival that he misses success
- 20:49Speaker 1: because he has a survivalist mentality and he thinks that
- 20:54Speaker 1: success is surviving And not succeeding. And that's why his
- 20:59Speaker 1: life hasn't gotten any further than it's gone. Because he
- 21:02Speaker 1: has misdefined success. Because he sees success. Watch this. Through
- 21:08Speaker 1: the sunglasses of fear. And as long as you see
- 21:15Speaker 1: success through fear. You won't touch it. Because I don't
- 21:19Speaker 1: want no trouble boss. So supposing something go wrong. backers.
- 21:27Speaker 1: I don't want no trouble. I'm not going to get
- 21:31Speaker 1: married because I don't want no trouble. I'm not going
- 21:35Speaker 1: to take the position because I don't want no trouble.
- 21:38Speaker 1: I'm not going to go to school because it might
- 21:40Speaker 1: be hard at my age. I don't want no trouble.
- 21:44Speaker 1: You never have increase when you are controlled by fear.
- 21:53Speaker 1: All three men had the same opportunity. Two men did
- 22:00Speaker 1: something with it. One man didn't. The man who didn't
- 22:03Speaker 1: do it, didn't do it because his fears affected his perception.
- 22:09Speaker 1: And he allowed the information that had been given to
- 22:13Speaker 1: all of them to be processed differently. And he said,
- 22:18Speaker 1: look at this. When the master comes back, the one
- 22:21Speaker 1: with five, Gives a good report. He's got 10. The
- 22:24Speaker 1: one with two, he's got four. The one with one,
- 22:27Speaker 1: the master said, what you got? He said, I don't
- 22:29Speaker 1: have but one. He said, I knew you were a
- 22:31Speaker 1: hard master, reaping where you had not sowed, demanding expectations
- 22:36Speaker 1: for your increase. So I hid what I had. Did
- 22:41Speaker 1: the one with one know something that the one with
- 22:43Speaker 1: two and the one with five didn't know? Absolutely not.
- 22:46Speaker 1: They all knew the same thing about the master, which
- 22:49Speaker 1: means that while the master was watching the slave, the
- 22:52Speaker 1: slave was watching the master. So they are all exposed
- 22:58Speaker 1: to the same information but look at how differently they
- 23:02Speaker 1: process it. Both of them knew that the master was
- 23:06Speaker 1: a hard master. He was a businessman. He was a
- 23:09Speaker 1: high roller. He was a big baller. He was a
- 23:12Speaker 1: shot caller. He was used to landing on his feet
- 23:15Speaker 1: and taking it from the top. Everybody knew that. But
- 23:18Speaker 1: it is how you process the information that determines what
- 23:21Speaker 1: you do with it. Two of them knew that about
- 23:23Speaker 1: him and said, I better have increase when he comes back.
- 23:27Speaker 1: And the third one knew that about it and said,
- 23:29Speaker 1: I better hold on to what I got when he
- 23:31Speaker 1: comes back. How are you processing your situation and how
- 23:36Speaker 1: is it affecting its outcome? How are you processing your
- 23:43Speaker 1: situation and how is it affecting its outcome? Somebody else
- 23:49Speaker 1: could be exposed to the same opportunity, be exposed to
- 23:52Speaker 1: the same information and perceive it differently and land on
- 23:57Speaker 1: their feet.
- 23:57Speaker 3: Amen.
- 24:01Speaker 1: We've got to stop right there, but my announcer is
- 24:03Speaker 1: going to tell you more of how you can get
- 24:05Speaker 1: down into the depths of the instinct to increase and
- 24:08Speaker 1: other great words that you need to further your destiny.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Masses of people jumping in cars, filling up tanks full
- 24:16Speaker 1: of gas, trying to get away from what they perceive
