- 1:42Speaker 1: Alright friends, this episode of Son of a Boy Dad
- 1:44Speaker 1: is brought to you by High Noon. High Noon is
- 1:47Speaker 1: going to be your drinking companion on whatever weekend you
- 1:50Speaker 1: go to. This weekend, I have a wedding, and you
- 1:53Speaker 1: guarantee that I'm going to be on that dance floor,
- 1:57Speaker 1: High Noon in hand, cutting a rug because it is
- 1:59Speaker 1: the perfect celebration beverage.
- 2:01Speaker 4: I would say that any wedding that knows to bring
- 2:05Speaker 4: High Noons to the bar is a wedding that is
- 2:07Speaker 4: probably going to result in a very happy marriage. Because
- 2:10Speaker 4: it's all about making sure your guests have a great time.
- 2:12Speaker 1: And the priorities are right.
- 2:14Speaker 4: Exactly. And you'll be sipping those delicious tequilas. I'm more
- 2:17Speaker 4: of a vodka man myself. I love the fact that
- 2:20Speaker 4: there's no added sugar. There's only 100 calories. Gluten-free. And
- 2:24Speaker 4: none of that disgusting malt that we taste in so
- 2:27Speaker 4: many other things that leaves your mouth feeling awful.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Malt is a criminal thing that people are putting in beverages. Luckily,
- 2:34Speaker 1: High Noon doesn't have anything to do with it. It
- 2:36Speaker 1: is clean. It is delicious. Sometimes you feel bad after
- 2:40Speaker 1: certain seltzers, and you never know why. It's the malt.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I'm telling you that right now. It's not high noon,
- 2:46Speaker 1: and high noon is always going to be your friend.
- 2:48Speaker 1: I'm going to be sucking them down at the wedding,
- 2:50Speaker 1: and hopefully you should be too.
- 2:53Speaker 4: I will. If you're planning a wedding or a tailgate
- 2:55Speaker 4: or whatever event that goes well with a little bit
- 2:58Speaker 4: of drinking, go to highnoonspirits.com and enjoy the episode.
- 3:09Speaker 5: All right, ready? All righty, welcome back to the Son
- 3:14Speaker 5: of a Boy Dad podcast. Today it is 1.15 p.m.
- 3:18Speaker 5: It's October 19th. We are here live from HQ3. And
- 3:23Speaker 5: my God, do we have a lot to talk about.
- 3:25Speaker 5: Jalen Hurts passed away this morning.
- 3:28Speaker 4: Oh, man, dude. Oh, man.
- 3:33Speaker 5: Of course he didn't. Jalen Hurts.
- 3:35Speaker 4: Wow. Wow. Did he?
- 3:37Speaker 1: Yeah, like if he did, we ain't cutting this. If
- 3:41Speaker 1: he dies, we are not going to cut that.
- 3:42Speaker 5: No, we're obviously going to cut that.
- 3:43Speaker 1: No, if he dies, you're going to have to live
- 3:45Speaker 1: with the shame of that.
- 3:46Speaker 5: It's not. Well, if he dies, then you guys are
- 3:49Speaker 5: going to look like scumbags for laughing at me.
- 3:51Speaker 4: I caught my laugh. I laughed in a way that was,
- 3:54Speaker 4: I can't believe you said that.
- 3:56Speaker 5: Rowan was laughing hard.
- 3:58Speaker 4: I think you should either way lose your job.
- 4:02Speaker 5: Whoa, that's crazy.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Well, you want him to die.
- 4:06Speaker 5: I'm going to start a podcast with the guy on
- 4:07Speaker 5: the NFL Network.
- 4:09Speaker 4: Schrager?
- 4:09Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah. We're going to join forces.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Talk ball or just talk shit?
- 4:13Speaker 5: Just talk strictly Jalen Hurts.
- 4:15Speaker 4: Oh, no.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I mean, this is a terrible season where nobody should
- 4:19Speaker 1: even be paying attention to football. I agree. This is
- 4:22Speaker 1: as sad as it gets.
- 4:23Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Brutal well i mean what our quarterback could die our
- 4:28Speaker 1: quarterback is like literally like it's terrifying.
- 4:31Speaker 5: Who do you think is to blame here who do
- 4:32Speaker 5: you who do you think is going.
- 4:34Speaker 1: To lose their doctors the doctors these foul doctors that
- 4:37Speaker 1: made him stay up for 36 hours and then flew
- 4:39Speaker 1: him back and forth across the atlantic.
- 4:41Speaker 5: But do you realistically think it was the doctors that
- 4:43Speaker 5: did that because if i'm correct me if i'm wrong
- 4:45Speaker 5: but i feel like the doctors in sports are usually
- 4:47Speaker 5: the people that are like that he's not allowed to
- 4:49Speaker 5: play and then the coach is like he's playing like
- 4:51Speaker 5: miracle you're.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Trying to put it on sirianni well i'm I don't
- 4:54Speaker 1: know who else there is to put on it. Well,
- 4:57Speaker 1: I think that he also might be a very driven brother.
- 5:01Speaker 1: He might be like, I'm playing in that fucking game.
- 5:03Speaker 1: I don't care. I'm a competitor. I'll leave it all
- 5:06Speaker 1: out on the field. I'll die on the field. Would
- 5:08Speaker 1: you have died for college lacrosse, Francis?
- 5:11Speaker 4: No, no, no.
- 5:12Speaker 5: If they told you you have to stay up for
- 5:14Speaker 5: 36 hours in order to play against.
- 5:17Speaker 5: Syracuse or some shit, like, would you do that? Or
- 5:20Speaker 5: would you be like, I think I'm just going to
- 5:21Speaker 5: skip this one.
- 5:22Speaker 4: My senior year, we were playing in the Ivy league tournament.
- 5:27Speaker 4: It was the semifinal game against Penn. And I'd finally
- 5:31Speaker 4: worked my way back into the starting lineup. And I
- 5:35Speaker 4: told my coach ahead of time, we had this take
- 5:38Speaker 4: home final for this English class that I was taking.
- 5:41Speaker 4: It was like, I think it was called the great
- 5:43Speaker 4: American novel. Um, And the final, you could either choose
- 5:49Speaker 4: to do this final from the hours of 9 a.m.
- 5:53Speaker 4: to 5 p.m. or from the hours of 5 p.m.
- 5:58Speaker 4: to 9 a.m. You got to choose.
- 6:01Speaker 5: And it took that long? It took a long time?
- 6:04Speaker 4: Well, yeah. I mean, it was a very long final.
- 6:09Speaker 4: And everyone did the math and was like, well, if
- 6:11Speaker 4: you do it overnight, you'll have more time. Yeah. Because
- 6:15Speaker 4: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. is 16 hours versus having
- 6:19Speaker 4: eight hours during the day.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:21Speaker 4: So I think the vast majority of people took it overnight.
- 6:25Speaker 4: And I let my coach know ahead of time. I
- 6:27Speaker 4: was like, I'm going to be up all night taking
- 6:30Speaker 4: a final. There's nothing I can do about it. I
- 6:33Speaker 4: have to do it this time. And he was like, understood.
- 6:36Speaker 4: And then I had to hand it in at they
- 6:39Speaker 4: didn't open the office until 8 a.m. So I finished
- 6:42Speaker 4: the final. at like 7.30, went to the office, waited,
- 6:46Speaker 4: dropped it off at 8 a.m., then immediately rushed down
- 6:49Speaker 4: to where we were taking the bus from the locker
- 6:52Speaker 4: room to the fucking Cornell, because it was there. And
- 6:58Speaker 4: he benched me for the first quarter of the game
- 7:01Speaker 4: for showing up late because I had to wait to
- 7:04Speaker 4: hand in my final.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Damn.
- 7:06Speaker 4: And not only that, I didn't play in the first quarter,
- 7:09Speaker 4: and then for the remaining three quarters, I was a zombie.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:12Speaker 4: Because I had stayed up all night.
- 7:13Speaker 5: Yeah, you're just getting more tired. They should have let
- 7:15Speaker 5: you only play the first quarter.
- 7:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Right, right. They should have suspended you for the last
- 7:20Speaker 1: three quarters.
- 7:20Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly.
- 7:21Speaker 5: Get that last little bit of juice out of you.
- 7:23Speaker 4: Dude, I remember. So my parents are incredibly like reasonable people.
- 7:28Speaker 4: Whenever my whole life coming to games, they were never
- 7:31Speaker 4: the parents that were like, Raph, you're a fucking nightmare.
- 7:35Speaker 4: You know, like I remember. Yeah. Like they never they
- 7:38Speaker 4: would just sit quietly and be like, yeah, you know,
- 7:41Speaker 4: they were nice. My dad, I told him that I
- 7:44Speaker 4: was being benched for this for like a completely obligatory
- 7:47Speaker 4: academic requirement, a final of my senior spring. And he
- 7:54Speaker 4: was like, quit the team on the phone. I was like, dad,
- 8:00Speaker 4: you know, I mean, I was still of the age
- 8:02Speaker 4: where like anything he said, I cared deeply and thought
- 8:05Speaker 4: it was true. And he was like, that's the most
- 8:07Speaker 4: ridiculous thing. Like walk away. Like, we literally have two
- 8:11Speaker 4: games left.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:13Speaker 6: I can't.
- 8:13Speaker 5: Yeah, that would be an abrupt ending.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Did you think about it? You were close to doing it?
- 8:18Speaker 4: No. Look, you know, you just accept shit when you're
- 8:24Speaker 4: in college sports. You can't quit on the team.
- 8:27Speaker 1: There's a second semester, right?
- 8:29Speaker 4: It doesn't seem like you have any power in professional
- 8:31Speaker 4: sports either.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Right.
- 8:33Speaker 5: How do you tell a professional athlete, an adult... You
- 8:38Speaker 5: got to stay up for 36 hours. Are they holding
- 8:41Speaker 5: his eyes open?
- 8:41Speaker 4: Hold on a minute.
- 8:42Speaker 5: Let's talk about it.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Maybe they're buying his shit open.
- 8:46Speaker 5: I would be like, I'm going to go to bed.
- 8:47Speaker 5: And you're not going to know about it.
- 8:49Speaker 1: I think he was at the hospital.
- 8:52Speaker 5: Or they just have him playing Mario Kart for 36 hours.
- 8:57Speaker 4: I bet you that they said, we suggest that you
- 9:00Speaker 4: stay up for 36 hours because we are concerned about this.
- 9:04Speaker 4: And then. It was his choice after that to go
- 9:07Speaker 4: play in the game.
- 9:09Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 9:09Speaker 5: I mean, regardless, it shouldn't have been.
- 9:11Speaker 4: I don't think the doctors were like, we're keeping you
- 9:13Speaker 4: up for 36 hours with a combination of amphetamines and
- 9:17Speaker 4: fucking energy drinks. And then, by the way, we're going
- 9:20Speaker 4: to get you straight on the plane and you have
- 9:21Speaker 4: to play.
- 9:23Speaker 5: Well, I think they made him stay up when he
- 9:25Speaker 5: was already there.
- 9:25Speaker 4: Oh, so they did it in England. Mm hmm.
- 9:28Speaker 1: So I think he was supposed to sleep on the
- 9:29Speaker 1: ride there, which he probably couldn't. There's no way he
- 9:32Speaker 1: got a clean eight on the whatever eight-hour flight it was.
- 9:36Speaker 1: His sleep score certainly wasn't a 91 like it was today.
- 9:37Speaker 4: No, no, right.
- 9:39Speaker 1: But then they made him stay up in London and
- 9:42Speaker 1: go play and then fly right back.
- 9:44Speaker 5: Yeah. All of those things he could have died.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Those blood clots were probably zooming through his body like
- 9:50Speaker 1: fucking critters.
- 9:51Speaker 5: Well, yeah. I mean, if he had one in his
- 9:53Speaker 5: leg and then he comes back and he's got a
- 9:54Speaker 5: bunch in his lungs, that means it had to have
- 9:56Speaker 5: got worse. I mean, he must have been screaming on
- 9:59Speaker 5: that flight.
- 10:00Speaker 1: I can't stay up for 36 hours period no and
- 10:04Speaker 1: then fuck playing a football game i just can't do it.
- 10:07Speaker 5: Imagine having to do the tush push where you have
- 10:09Speaker 5: blood clots in your legs and you haven't slept in
- 10:12Speaker 5: two days And they're like, all right, tush push time.
- 10:15Speaker 5: I'd be like looking over at Sirianni with tears in
- 10:18Speaker 5: my eyes. Call another play. Sorry, Jalen, we.
- 10:26Speaker 4: Need it.
- 10:28Speaker 5: I mean, you guys are like, like they should really
- 10:31Speaker 5: just be like the Eagles aren't in the NFL for
- 10:32Speaker 5: the rest of the season.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Relegate them? Yeah. He should have stayed in England. To
- 10:36Speaker 1: make him fly back is insane.
- 10:38Speaker 5: I just feel like someone's going to either lose their job. Well,
- 10:41Speaker 5: someone's definitely going to lose their job.
- 10:43Speaker 1: But it's a matter of how many people.
- 10:45Speaker 5: How many people. And honestly, it's a matter of like
- 10:47Speaker 5: if he's going to like sue the Eagles.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Which he could. And he could make a lot of money.
- 10:53Speaker 1: But the coach is gone. Offensive coordinator is going to
- 10:56Speaker 1: be gone.
- 10:56Speaker 5: You think Sirianni is definitely gone?
- 10:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:58Speaker 1: And I think they're going to start offloading people. But
- 11:00Speaker 1: if I'm Sirianni, I'm like, he had blood clots. What
- 11:02Speaker 1: are you going to fire me for? Why are you
- 11:05Speaker 1: firing me?
- 11:06Speaker 5: I mean, I guess there's going to be a whole investigation,
- 11:08Speaker 5: I would assume, into what went down.
- 11:10Speaker 4: These days, you know what his middle name is, by
- 11:13Speaker 4: the way? Really? Everything.
- 11:16Speaker 5: That's funny too same joke yeah yeah very fucking funny
- 11:21Speaker 5: I'm glad we both I'm glad we both had it.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Lives are at stake this is very disgusting to say
- 11:26Speaker 1: watch us win the division despite it I mean.
- 11:28Speaker 5: It's it's up for grabs I mean you guys could
- 11:31Speaker 5: very easily still win the division.
- 11:34Speaker 2: The Eagles have lost four in a row and they're
- 11:36Speaker 2: in second place.
- 11:39Speaker 5: I mean, that division is still wide open.
- 11:41Speaker 1: We're in the hunt.
- 11:42Speaker 5: Yeah, definitely.
- 11:44Speaker 1: We play the Cowboys on Monday night.
- 11:45Speaker 5: It would be really funny if you guys still made
- 11:47Speaker 5: the playoffs with just no one.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Just how bad are the Cowboys? How bad are the Rams?
- 11:53Speaker 1: I mean, the Giants almost won with nine.
- 11:55Speaker 5: The Giants literally might win the division.
- 11:58Speaker 1: They should. The Giants are fun.
- 12:00Speaker 5: They're fun.
- 12:01Speaker 4: They are fun.
- 12:01Speaker 5: They're a clown show. They're fun to root for.
- 12:04Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a fun team.
- 12:05Speaker 1: But they benched Cam Scatterbill. That fucking dinosaur.
- 12:09Speaker 5: I wonder why.
- 12:10Speaker 1: That Neanderthal. I think he was fumbling too much. And
- 12:14Speaker 1: I think it's just their version of the Paris protests
- 12:17Speaker 1: against a white guy to sit his ass down.
- 12:21Speaker 5: I saw a video of the Paris protests yesterday. This
- 12:23Speaker 5: was actually, I remember I was going to talk about
- 12:25Speaker 5: this on the podcast because I was cracking up.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Well, I'm glad I segued to that.
- 12:28Speaker 5: This was like late at night. I was on Twitter
- 12:30Speaker 5: and I saw a video of the. of the people
- 12:32Speaker 5: protesting and then someone panned over to the, did you
- 12:34Speaker 5: guys see this? The people standing, guarding the Tommy Hilfiger store?
- 12:38Speaker 4: No, I didn't.
- 12:39Speaker 5: I was just imagining Francis outside of like the cologne shop.
- 12:44Speaker 4: Spraying the colognes. That's not coming out.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Or with like a lighter and the cologne and a
- 12:49Speaker 1: lighter of like trying to ward off a wall of protesters.
- 12:53Speaker 5: There was like, there was like, the streets are like
- 12:55Speaker 5: on fire. There's like cars tipped over and then there
- 12:58Speaker 5: was just like five dudes outside of the Tommy Hilfiger store.
- 13:01Speaker 5: Just post it up just like you're not getting it.
- 13:03Speaker 4: Standing in underwear. Yeah. There are underwear bands coming up
- 13:07Speaker 4: above their pants. Dude, what is going on? Is it
- 13:11Speaker 4: happening in Milan too? I mean, I saw videos from
- 13:13Speaker 4: both cities where the looting is just like full blown.
- 13:17Speaker 5: I guess it's just the price of the cost of
- 13:19Speaker 5: living people are really outraged about.
- 13:21Speaker 4: That's what's going on? Yeah.
- 13:22Speaker 1: It started as an education thing, I thought.
- 13:25Speaker 5: I think it's everything. It's education and the cost of
- 13:28Speaker 5: living and then, yeah. I don't think– Apparently this happens
- 13:32Speaker 5: all the time in Paris though.
- 13:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:34Speaker 5: And then it actually works. Like they actually are like,
- 13:36Speaker 5: all right, we'll bring the cost of living down. Like
- 13:39Speaker 5: we kind of have to now.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Yeah. Just don't take the whole city on fire.
- 13:42Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I feel like it's just like in a young man
- 13:47Speaker 1: to want to like burn a couch and it's like
- 13:50Speaker 1: some people go to Penn State and just to celebrate wins,
- 13:52Speaker 1: losses and like Joe Paterno stuff.
- 13:54Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Some people live in Paris and they have to like
- 13:57Speaker 1: fight the government with Molotov cocktails.
- 13:58Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 14:00Speaker 1: But it's just within a young man. I think it's
- 14:01Speaker 1: really not like about that. I think it's more about
- 14:03Speaker 1: your circumstances.
- 14:04Speaker 5: Bro, there's a there's a Counter-Strike team that's based in
- 14:07Speaker 5: Paris called Vitality. They're like the bet. They're like one
- 14:09Speaker 5: of the best teams. Their shit got their shit got
- 14:12Speaker 5: fully rated. They're posting videos of like their trophies, like
- 14:15Speaker 5: out on the street and stuff. Digging the PCs up,
- 14:19Speaker 5: just destroying them.
- 14:21Speaker 3: What?
- 14:21Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:22Speaker 1: That's all. Yeah, a guy getting- It's affecting everybody. His
- 14:24Speaker 1: comic book shop getting raided. It's like, what the fuck
- 14:27Speaker 1: are you going to loot a comic book shop for?
- 14:28Speaker 5: It's just like a nasty thing to do. That's just
- 14:31Speaker 5: like a guy's hobby that he wants to share with
- 14:34Speaker 5: the world.
- 14:34Speaker 4: These are worth $ 3. Yeah. What are you going to
- 14:38Speaker 4: do with them?
- 14:38Speaker 1: At least read them.
- 14:39Speaker 5: Read them.
- 14:40Speaker 1: They're burning them. it's probably infuriating fuck.
- 14:44Speaker 4: Your comics they're graphic novels it's clearly like a private
- 14:48Speaker 4: privately owned business also i laughed at the video of
- 14:51Speaker 4: like the women taking their suitcases they're like pink and
- 14:54Speaker 4: light blue suitcases through the uh protests.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Imagine this is your week that you went to paris francis.
- 15:00Speaker 4: I would have joined them tweet you know how much
- 15:02Speaker 4: i fucking spent in there it'd be so nice to
- 15:04Speaker 4: get half that shit for free oh yeah it would
- 15:06Speaker 4: have been you know screaming whatever chance they want i
- 15:10Speaker 4: would have.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Been returning shit during that.
- 15:14Speaker 5: Loot it and then take it back no i don't
- 15:16Speaker 5: have a receipt you guys never gave me one you
- 15:20Speaker 5: said you were going to email it but i never
- 15:21Speaker 5: got an email just doubling down on the cash 500
- 15:26Speaker 5: 000 people is a lot of protesters well that's how
- 15:30Speaker 5: you know shit's fucked they were outside And then the
- 15:33Speaker 5: Saints tweeted today and they were like, next stop, Paris.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Who's playing there? Saints and Cowboys?
- 15:41Speaker 5: Just cancel the game. Like no one wants to see
- 15:44Speaker 5: that game in the first place. And now we're going
- 15:47Speaker 5: to send a bunch of guys to a city that's
- 15:49Speaker 5: like literally on fire. Maybe the NFL has got to
- 15:53Speaker 5: tighten it up a little bit, right? Why is Jalen
- 15:55Speaker 5: Hurts playing in London in the first place?
- 15:57Speaker 4: Maybe this is exactly what Paris needs. A football game
- 16:02Speaker 4: is basically a riot.
- 16:04Speaker 5: That's true. You think this is going to be what
- 16:05Speaker 5: brings it all? I don't think the Cowboys or the
- 16:08Speaker 5: Steelers Saints is going to be the one that unites
- 16:10Speaker 5: the city.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Yeah, you need an intro.
- 16:12Speaker 5: Maybe if we got Rams bills.
- 16:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:13Speaker 1: AFC East or something like that.
- 16:16Speaker 5: I think Rams bills could get people to kind of
- 16:18Speaker 5: tone it down and be like, all right, this is,
- 16:20Speaker 5: we're watching, we're watching greatness right now.
- 16:22Speaker 1: This is history.
- 16:23Speaker 4: This is worth waiting on.
- 16:24Speaker 5: Yeah. Chanel store.
- 16:26Speaker 1: St.
- 16:27Speaker 4: Steelers.
- 16:27Speaker 5: They're going to start lighting more shit on fire. Like
- 16:30Speaker 5: this is fucking awful. Yeah.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Aaron Rogers is definitely not going to like it. He's
- 16:36Speaker 1: not going to be happy about what's going on.
- 16:38Speaker 5: If I'm Aaron Rogers, I'm like, I'm not going to like,
- 16:41Speaker 5: I'm just, I would, I would just start being like, well,
- 16:43Speaker 5: blood clots are an issue now. Like we're not traveling.
- 16:46Speaker 5: I guess they have to travel regardless, so it doesn't
- 16:48Speaker 5: really matter.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Yeah, but a perfectly tuned athlete getting a blood clot,
- 16:52Speaker 1: what do you think that's due to?
- 16:54Speaker 4: You know? Exactly.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Read between the lines.
- 16:56Speaker 5: GLP-1s.
- 16:57Speaker 4: I don't know what that is. What is that?
- 17:00Speaker 1: Clearly the vaccine, you fools.
- 17:02Speaker 4: Oh, right, okay. Right, right, right.
- 17:04Speaker 1: You absolute fools.
- 17:05Speaker 5: It all comes back to COVID.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Are the Saints playing there because they're, like... It's like
- 17:10Speaker 1: a French– they kind of have a French flair to
- 17:12Speaker 1: them with the fleur-de-lis and all that.
- 17:14Speaker 4: And the– yeah, whatever that language they speak down in
- 17:17Speaker 4: New Orleans. Creole. Creole. Yeah.
- 17:20Speaker 5: The Saints are a pretty like religious org, right?
- 17:24Speaker 4: Yes.
- 17:24Speaker 5: Like the ownership, they're very involved with like the Catholic Church.
- 17:27Speaker 1: There's a bishop that's their defensive coordinator.
- 17:30Speaker 4: Yes, yes.
- 17:31Speaker 1: They have some– yeah.
- 17:32Speaker 5: So I think they're like we're going to Paris to
- 17:34Speaker 5: see the.
- 17:36Speaker 4: Notre Dame.
- 17:36Speaker 5: The Notre Dame.
- 17:37Speaker 4: Notre Dame.
- 17:37Speaker 5: The Notre Dame.
- 17:38Speaker 1: There's no chance that it's actually throughout the entire city, right?
- 17:42Speaker 1: It was only probably like a couple blocks.
- 17:45Speaker 5: 500,000 protesters is... I would assume they're covering a lot
- 17:48Speaker 5: of ground.
- 17:49Speaker 1: But people are going to work in Paris today, right? Like,
- 17:52Speaker 1: it's not like you have to.
- 17:53Speaker 4: It's a Monday if they have it off. Yeah. Yeah.
- 17:56Speaker 5: I mean, I think it would depend on where you work.
- 17:58Speaker 5: If you work at the Vitality Counter-Strike office, I would
- 18:01Speaker 5: assume they have the day off. But....
- 18:06Speaker 1: With Tommy Hilfiger's got to be up and going.
- 18:07Speaker 5: Tommy Hilfiger's, they're running.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Yeah. Tommy Hilfiger's got deals today.
- 18:10Speaker 5: They got a flash sale?
- 18:12Speaker 1: President's Day extended. Yeah. That was tough. Watching the videos
- 18:18Speaker 1: was pretty fucking wild.
- 18:20Speaker 4: Yeah, it was bad.
- 18:21Speaker 5: I mean, they were burning shit down.
- 18:23Speaker 4: I saw some little woman standing in front of her
- 18:25Speaker 4: store trying to reason with the looters.
- 18:30Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 18:31Speaker 4: And she was like, this is, you know, she's like,
- 18:33Speaker 4: these are my... precious my family goods yeah and they
- 18:37Speaker 4: were like trust me there's nothing you can do.
- 18:39Speaker 5: Yeah just step aside we're gonna break a lot of
- 18:43Speaker 5: your shit we're gonna break and take everything yeah no
- 18:47Speaker 5: no we're not gonna steal it looked like they were
- 18:50Speaker 5: it looked like they felt bad for a second yeah
- 18:53Speaker 5: she got through to them and then somehow they went
- 18:55Speaker 5: they started like chanting ah and then they just bum
- 18:58Speaker 5: rushed her once you start hearing the chants it's over
- 19:00Speaker 5: do something crazy do something crazy laughing They do the
- 19:04Speaker 5: Asher Roth chant.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Yeah. I wonder if it will come for us. I
- 19:11Speaker 1: wonder if that will be bit by the same bug. No.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Are you sure? Because there was one for- No, we
- 19:16Speaker 1: shoot people.
- 19:17Speaker 5: They don't protest here like they do in Europe.
- 19:20Speaker 4: Well, we just get the National Guard out.
- 19:22Speaker 5: Someone showed footage of the No Kings protest, like side
- 19:26Speaker 5: by side with the Paris protest.
- 19:27Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 19:28Speaker 5: And it's just like 60-year-old people just like dancing. No kings.
- 19:33Speaker 4: Four corners.
- 19:34Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
- 19:37Speaker 1: No kings is outside though, bro. There's no kings like
- 19:40Speaker 1: every like four months.
- 19:42Speaker 5: Yeah, and it doesn't it don't accomplish anything because we
- 19:45Speaker 5: don't have we still don't have a king taking the
- 19:46Speaker 5: day off to just like.
- 19:47Speaker 6: The average age and i read somewhere that the average
- 19:50Speaker 6: age of a no kings protester is like.
- 19:52Speaker 5: 65 yeah no they're old they're old because it's like
- 19:55Speaker 5: a very very peaceful protest it's really just more like
- 19:59Speaker 5: a day it's like It's honestly not far off from
- 20:03Speaker 5: what I was just at in Syracuse.
- 20:04Speaker 4: It looks like a pep rally.
- 20:05Speaker 5: Yeah, it's like family visitation.
- 20:06Speaker 4: It looks like go team win state. No cougars.
- 20:10Speaker 1: I wonder if there's like a prom king of no kings.
- 20:12Speaker 5: Oh, definitely.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Can you get this no king sash?
- 20:16Speaker 5: They got two queens.
- 20:18Speaker 4: Prom democratically elected leader who respects term limits.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Prom president.
- 20:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:25Speaker 5: But no, yeah, you are right. They don't protest here
- 20:27Speaker 5: because they'll just kill them.
- 20:28Speaker 1: You think so? I saw some, there was like a
- 20:31Speaker 1: Brandon Aubrey protest or something, and they went up to,
- 20:34Speaker 1: and they were hitting, like they hit an older gay
- 20:37Speaker 1: couple in New York and came up to their table
- 20:39Speaker 1: as they were dining outside being like, say Black Lives Matter,
- 20:43Speaker 1: like say it. And I guess that's, it was like
- 20:47Speaker 1: a light version, but that's kind of back.
- 20:50Speaker 5: We got to be burning shit down. If there's nothing
- 20:52Speaker 5: on fire, nothing's going to change.
- 20:54Speaker 1: You think that that won't get enough headlines?
- 20:55Speaker 5: No, no.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Well, they also tried to find a weak city in Minneapolis.
- 20:59Speaker 1: And since then, Minneapolis has been fortified.
- 21:01Speaker 5: Stronger than ever.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Yeah, we need to find a city that's susceptible.
- 21:06Speaker 5: I think we just all go to like Stanford, Connecticut,
- 21:09Speaker 5: or maybe Bridgeport, and we just have a field day.
- 21:14Speaker 4: Nobody would notice the difference.
- 21:17Speaker 5: Exactly. It's kind of why it's like a violent protest,
- 21:20Speaker 5: but it's still peaceful in a way because no one's there.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Like, yeah, the government should offer that up as like
- 21:26Speaker 1: a peace offering.
- 21:27Speaker 5: Yeah, like let's all just take Connecticut.
- 21:29Speaker 1: You guys can burn Providence to the ground.
- 21:30Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah. Remember that Dunkin' Donuts we burned a year ago?
- 21:33Speaker 4: I saw it smoking again. Did we not put that out?
- 21:37Speaker 4: How'd that kick back up?
- 21:39Speaker 1: Still going.
- 21:41Speaker 4: The charred remains of Danny's house were smoldering again.
- 21:47Speaker 5: Like when you leave the fire pit overnight.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Yeah. Did I blow out the Dunkin' Donuts? Fuck, I
- 21:54Speaker 1: forgot to blow out the Dunkin' Donuts.
- 21:57Speaker 5: But I mean, I'm sure someone will try to start
- 21:59Speaker 5: a good protest like that here.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Someone will, but those are all paid organizers. It's like
- 22:06Speaker 1: a pretty good job to start to protest. You can
- 22:08Speaker 1: make $ 70, 000 a year and only have to work weekends
- 22:12Speaker 1: as a protester. It's an extremely good gig.
- 22:14Speaker 5: But you got to be able to eat a water
- 22:15Speaker 5: cannon every now and then. It's like the whole Atlantic
- 22:23Speaker 5: Ocean coming at you at once.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Water cannons are funny.
- 22:30Speaker 5: It's got to be like one of the most jar.
- 22:31Speaker 5: I mean, it says they use tear gas, water cannons,
- 22:34Speaker 5: and stun grenades. Imagine getting hit with a stun and
- 22:38Speaker 5: then a water cannon back to back. You get hit
- 22:40Speaker 5: with the combo.
- 22:41Speaker 4: You wouldn't even feel the cannon.
- 22:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:43Speaker 4: Stunned. Yeah. Why am I moving backwards across the pavement?
- 22:51Speaker 1: Dude, we shot a video for the World Cup in Paris.
- 22:55Speaker 1: There was a riot during that. And we were shooting
- 22:57Speaker 1: during the fucking riot. And we're sprinting through the streets.
- 23:01Speaker 1: And they're throwing fucking smoke bombs. And there's like flashbangs.
- 23:04Speaker 1: And it's like the cops are coming. And we're literally
- 23:07Speaker 1: like fucking running. We're just like running through the streets
- 23:12Speaker 1: with flashbangs. And it's the World Cup final. It's not
- 23:17Speaker 1: even unrest. This is how they celebrate over there. No, no.
- 23:21Speaker 4: This is the year they won.
- 23:23Speaker 1: This is the year they won, and we were in Paris.
- 23:25Speaker 1: And it's the day after Bastille Day, so it's just
- 23:30Speaker 1: a more peaceful time.
- 23:31Speaker 5: Yeah, it looks very peaceful. I've always wondered what it
- 23:36Speaker 5: would feel like to get hit with a stun. Is
- 23:39Speaker 5: a stun and a flash grenade the same thing? Because
- 23:41Speaker 5: I know they're different in Call of Duty, but I think.
- 23:43Speaker 4: I think a stun grenade is big amount of noise.
- 23:48Speaker 4: And I'm sure there's some sort of percussive effect.
- 23:52Speaker 5: And then a flash is more.
- 23:53Speaker 4: Flash is blinding.
- 23:56Speaker 5: I would assume most people, they probably don't have flash
- 23:58Speaker 5: grenades in a lot of places. It's probably mostly stuns.
- 24:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I would say so. From what I know, it's
- 24:03Speaker 4: mostly stun. It's harder to get flash.
- 24:06Speaker 5: Me and my friends used to always joke about like
- 24:08Speaker 5: if you were to like stun grenade one of your friends,
- 24:11Speaker 5: like just like while they're like at home. Just drop
- 24:14Speaker 5: a stun grenade in their apartment.
- 24:16Speaker 1: Just cooking eggs.
- 24:21Speaker 5: It's like kind of a harmless prank, you know?
- 24:24Speaker 1: Well, what does it do? It just disorients you. But
- 24:27Speaker 1: does it destroy your eardrums?
- 24:28Speaker 5: Oh, yeah. Annihilates them?
- 24:30Speaker 1: Yeah, that's harmful.
- 24:32Speaker 4: I'm remembering vaguely this story. I don't know if it
- 24:35Speaker 4: was in a movie or if it was true, but
- 24:37Speaker 4: there was a story of a prank where they, like,
- 24:41Speaker 4: Opened a guy's door who was sleeping and threw some, like,
- 24:45Speaker 4: firecrackers or fireworks in and then shut the door and it, like,
- 24:48Speaker 4: lit on fire and the kid died.
- 24:50Speaker 1: What?
- 24:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:52Speaker 1: And that's what you're advocating for, for your friends.
- 24:55Speaker 5: Get pranked, pussy.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:00Speaker 5: A harmless prank gone wrong. We're going to kill our friend.
- 25:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:03Speaker 5: We thought it was going to be completely harmless. We
- 25:05Speaker 5: sent multiple fireworks into his bedroom.
- 25:07Speaker 4: Yeah. I don't know where that was.
- 25:10Speaker 1: That's just terrifying. They should just Havana Syndrome all these people.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Just hit them with a bang of Havana Syndrome.
- 25:17Speaker 4: What's that?
- 25:17Speaker 5: Yeah, what is that?
- 25:18Speaker 1: Isn't it Havana Syndrome? It's like... Savannah Bananas? It's like...
- 25:21Speaker 1: Can you look this up, Tyler?
- 25:23Speaker 5: That's what they call the Savannah Banana fans?
- 25:25Speaker 1: The Havana... The Havana Syndromes?
- 25:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:28Speaker 1: The Havana Bananas. That should be the farm team of
- 25:33Speaker 1: the Savannah Bananas.
- 25:34Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:34Speaker 1: The Havana Bananas. The minor league team. They would be sick.
- 25:39Speaker 1: But I think it's like some kind of bioweapon that
- 25:43Speaker 1: can silently... A collection of unexplained neurological and physical symptoms
- 25:48Speaker 1: first reported in late 2016 by US and Canadian diplomats
- 25:52Speaker 1: and intelligence officers in Havana, Cuba. So it's like a
- 25:57Speaker 1: head and ear issue. It's a piercing high-pitched sound that pops, buzzes,
- 26:01Speaker 1: or clicks. And it can like... Fuck up your memory
- 26:04Speaker 1: and your sleep.
- 26:06Speaker 5: That sounds like really bad.
- 26:08Speaker 4: Severe head pressure, ear pain, vertigo, dizziness, and tinnitus. Brain fog,
- 26:13Speaker 4: memory loss, fatigue, sleep disturbances, and sensitivity to light or sound.
- 26:17Speaker 4: Use code BOYDAD in Havana Syndrome today.
- 26:21Speaker 5: I think I might have that. I've got a lot
- 26:24Speaker 5: of those symptoms.
- 26:25Speaker 1: You were in Cuba under diplomatic obligations. Yeah, why not
- 26:31Speaker 1: just hit the protesters with a little high-pitched Havana syndrome?
- 26:34Speaker 5: Yeah, that's like a mass control thing, right? Just hit
- 26:38Speaker 5: everyone with it at once.
- 26:39Speaker 1: That's probably what they were trying to float.
- 26:41Speaker 5: Everyone's got a headache. Everyone's walking around. Do you guys
- 26:44Speaker 5: have severe head pressure or ear pain?
- 26:47Speaker 4: That's one of those symptoms where the second someone says it.
- 26:50Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
- 26:51Speaker 4: You're like, yes, I do.
- 26:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm starting to feel it right now.
- 26:54Speaker 5: Yeah, I guess there is a little pressure.
- 26:55Speaker 4: In my head. Yeah, there is pressure. Is that what I... Yeah.
- 27:00Speaker 4: I haven't been able to describe it.
- 27:02Speaker 5: I thought it was a migraine this whole time.
- 27:03Speaker 4: I've just been telling people I've been feeling like shit
- 27:06Speaker 4: for a long time. But I'm so glad pressure was
- 27:10Speaker 4: exactly what I was looking for.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Concussion-like trauma?
- 27:16Speaker 5: I have been hearing weird high-pitched sounds now that I
- 27:18Speaker 5: think about it. And popping and buzzing. Yeah, I know.
- 27:20Speaker 5: I'm getting all that.
- 27:21Speaker 1: When girls get a hold of this, you know that
- 27:23Speaker 1: they're going to fucking beat it to death. They're going
- 27:25Speaker 1: to be like, no, I got Havana syndrome.
- 27:27Speaker 5: I got bad Havana syndrome. I got long Havana syndrome.

- 28:53Speaker 1: What'd you boys do this weekend?
- 28:55Speaker 5: I was up in Cuse.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Oh, you were in Syracuse.
- 28:56Speaker 5: Yeah, I was up in Cuse for the weekend.
- 28:58Speaker 4: How was it? And, uh.
- 29:00Speaker 5: And Columbus, of course.
- 29:01Speaker 4: How'd you like that?
- 29:02Speaker 5: Sweet, sweet Columbus.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Columbus is amazing.
- 29:04Speaker 5: Columbus is a beautiful city.
- 29:06Speaker 1: I honestly think it is.
- 29:07Speaker 5: The shopping center I was in was stunning.
- 29:09Speaker 4: Yeah, I've done that.
- 29:10Speaker 5: Truly stunning.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Did you get to the downtown?
- 29:12Speaker 5: That's my third time there.
- 29:13Speaker 4: Oh, really?
- 29:14Speaker 5: Yeah. No, I got in like an hour and a
- 29:18Speaker 5: half before the show. And then I got to the hotel.
- 29:23Speaker 5: My phone died upon arrival. And I was looking for
- 29:27Speaker 5: my phone charger. No phone charger. Or no, wait, wait, wait.
- 29:31Speaker 5: I got that wrong. I got the timeline wrong.
- 29:33Speaker 4: I'm glad you're telling the truth now.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Fuck, okay, God. All right, everybody.
- 29:36Speaker 4: Cut that. Cut that.
- 29:40Speaker 5: Let me start from scratch because this is a good story.
- 29:42Speaker 5: This is like literally just nothing. This is a nothing story.
- 29:45Speaker 5: So tell us. No, I got there. Phone's on 1%.
- 29:50Speaker 5: I got to charge my phone. Don't have a phone charger.
- 29:53Speaker 5: Uber Eats, Best Buy, phone charger. Phone dies. I don't
- 29:59Speaker 5: know if the phone charter is coming. So now the
- 30:01Speaker 5: show starts in 30 minutes and I'm still dead phone.
- 30:04Speaker 5: Don't know how to get to the club. Don't know.
- 30:06Speaker 5: I can't get an Uber or anything. And then I'm
- 30:09Speaker 5: like walking downstairs seeing if the guy dropped it off.
- 30:12Speaker 5: You can't even get into the Uber app or the
- 30:14Speaker 5: Uber on your laptop anymore because you need the two
- 30:17Speaker 5: step verification to factor whatever it is.
- 30:20Speaker 1: So you're locked out. You have no ride and no communication.
- 30:23Speaker 4: With the world.
- 30:24Speaker 5: And then I ended up just walking around my floor
- 30:27Speaker 5: of the hotel I was on and the guy just
- 30:28Speaker 5: brought it to the wrong room.
- 30:29Speaker 1: And it was just sitting outside?
- 30:31Speaker 5: It was just sitting outside of another person's room.
- 30:34Speaker 4: Pretty resourceful of you to check.
- 30:36Speaker 5: Well, because I was like, there's no way it's not
- 30:38Speaker 5: here yet. It's been an hour.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Oh.
- 30:41Speaker 5: And then I got it, luckily.
- 30:42Speaker 4: Okay.
- 30:43Speaker 5: Went and did the show. Show was fun. Got to
- 30:44Speaker 5: work on a lot of new stuff. I couldn't really
- 30:46Speaker 5: tell if it went well or not. I was like very.
- 30:48Speaker 1: What were the people laughing?
- 30:50Speaker 5: They were laughing, but I couldn't tell if they were
- 30:51Speaker 5: laughing because I was like, well, I wanted to do
- 30:55Speaker 5: new stuff. It was one show, one night, very easy,
- 30:58Speaker 5: like one nighter. I need new material really bad. So
- 31:02Speaker 5: I was like, I brought like my notes. There was
- 31:04Speaker 5: no stool on the stage though. So I had to
- 31:06Speaker 5: put my notes on the ground. And then every time
- 31:09Speaker 5: I wanted to do a new joke, I had to
- 31:10Speaker 5: lean over to try to like read my notes and
- 31:13Speaker 5: then like pick up. Like, I don't want to bring
- 31:15Speaker 5: a stool out. Where was I going to get the stool?
- 31:17Speaker 1: This club doesn't have a stool.
- 31:19Speaker 5: No, I'm sure they did.
- 31:20Speaker 4: May I have a stool? There'll be one in a minute.
- 31:24Speaker 5: It was it was it was two in the moment.
- 31:27Speaker 5: But yeah, I did a lot of new stuff.
- 31:28Speaker 4: It was fun.
- 31:29Speaker 5: And then I went to then I went to Cuse.
- 31:31Speaker 5: And let me tell you, Cuse was just the time
- 31:33Speaker 5: of my life.
- 31:34Speaker 1: I love it up there.
- 31:35Speaker 4: You did the funny one up there. No, no.
- 31:37Speaker 5: I was visiting my family, my sister.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Oh, she attends there. Yeah, I was close to going
- 31:43Speaker 1: to Syracuse. Syracuse is a great school.
- 31:45Speaker 5: It was really nice. Campus is awesome.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Great journalism school.
- 31:48Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. How did you go? You flew to Columbus,
- 31:51Speaker 4: then flew back to New York, and then drove?
- 31:53Speaker 5: No, I flew to Columbus, and then I flew to Detroit,
- 31:56Speaker 5: and then I flew to Syracuse.
- 31:58Speaker 4: Oh, awful.
- 31:59Speaker 5: Yeah, really tough. Probably seven hours of travel for what
- 32:03Speaker 5: was a 30-minute flight.
- 32:05Speaker 4: Yeah. Brutal. Tough.
- 32:06Speaker 1: Yeah, you could have just jet it, or there was
- 32:08Speaker 1: no direct flights? There was no direct flights.
- 32:10Speaker 5: Not really that surprising, to be honest. There's like 15
- 32:13Speaker 5: gates at.
- 32:14Speaker 1: The Syracuse airport. Yeah, that's nasty. Was it cold as
- 32:17Speaker 1: hell up there? That was the main detriment for- Not really.
- 32:20Speaker 1: It was windy and cold. It was cold at.
- 32:22Speaker 5: Night, but we went to the football game on Saturday,
- 32:25Speaker 5: which was pretty cool. There was people sitting in front
- 32:27Speaker 5: of us that were really fucking annoying now, and everyone
- 32:30Speaker 5: was mad.
- 32:31Speaker 1: That's nasty.
- 32:32Speaker 5: We were mad. My family was mad. And then the
- 32:35Speaker 5: people in front of us were mad as well. And
- 32:38Speaker 5: I know that because I saw a lady in front
- 32:40Speaker 5: of me was older and she was texting.
- 32:42Speaker 1: She had a big text.
- 32:43Speaker 5: And her font was massive. And I was reading it.
- 32:46Speaker 5: And she texted someone and said, you're missing the white
- 32:48Speaker 5: trash entertainment sitting in front of us.
- 32:50Speaker 1: I was like, damn.
- 32:52Speaker 5: I was mad, but I wasn't like, that's nasty.
- 32:55Speaker 1: You weren't disparaging them? Yeah, that's just mean. Yeah, I mean,
- 32:57Speaker 1: that is, what was their white, what flavor of white
- 33:01Speaker 1: trash are they?
- 33:02Speaker 5: Pop in the top.
- 33:04Speaker 1: You're in an indoor stadium.
- 33:05Speaker 5: Indoor stadium. The guy pops the top upon arrival.
- 33:09Speaker 1: That's insane to pop your top at the fucking dome.
- 33:12Speaker 5: Yeah, they didn't even do the national anthem and he's
- 33:13Speaker 5: already got.
- 33:14Speaker 1: The top pop. In late November, you're popping your top
- 33:19Speaker 1: at the indoor stadium.
- 33:20Speaker 5: And I don't know if I'm not like, like I
- 33:23Speaker 5: would say I'm a pretty big Patriots fan. And I've
- 33:26Speaker 5: been to Patriots games and I've been to a lot
- 33:28Speaker 5: of football games in general. I don't know if it's
- 33:31Speaker 5: like maybe I don't care enough or what it is,
- 33:35Speaker 5: but when people like say there's a penalty and then
- 33:40Speaker 5: they are outraged by the penalty, like obviously that's natural.
- 33:44Speaker 5: But there was one play where it was like they
- 33:47Speaker 5: were on the one yard line and there was a
- 33:49Speaker 5: penalty against Syracuse. Now it's first and goal on the
- 33:53Speaker 5: one for Louisville. And the people in front of us
- 33:55Speaker 5: are like losing their– they're like, You got to be
- 33:58Speaker 5: fucking kidding me. And it's like, it's first and goal. Like,
- 34:02Speaker 5: you think they're not going to score here?
- 34:03Speaker 1: They're still probably going to score.
- 34:04Speaker 5: Like, they're going to score regardless if it's second and
- 34:06Speaker 5: goal or first and goal.
- 34:08Speaker 1: I find that to be healthy to kind of recalibrate
- 34:10Speaker 1: your fandom. Yeah. When you see someone who's like a
- 34:13Speaker 1: little bit like performatively or embarrassingly too involved, you're like, oh. Like,
- 34:20Speaker 1: do I?
- 34:20Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 34:21Speaker 5: I hope I don't ever look that way. But that's
- 34:22Speaker 5: what it was. We were me and my all my family.
- 34:25Speaker 5: We were all saying it was very like performative anger.
- 34:27Speaker 5: And it was like from these like two kids, like
- 34:30Speaker 5: actual children, but then like their parents as well. It
- 34:33Speaker 5: was like they they were like it was they were
- 34:35Speaker 5: acting like they were on the Jumbotron the entire game
- 34:38Speaker 5: pretty much.
- 34:39Speaker 4: Hmm.
- 34:40Speaker 1: I think that people who pop their top act like
- 34:42Speaker 1: they're like a superior class of fan.
- 34:45Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Or that they know more ball. You don't necessarily know
- 34:47Speaker 1: more ball.
- 34:48Speaker 5: Dude, this guy, he didn't know any ball. He knew
- 34:50Speaker 5: no ball.
- 34:51Speaker 1: They're pop toppers. Those are just people who want to
- 34:53Speaker 1: be shirtless in public.
- 34:54Speaker 4: You're telling me that guy had no shirt on and
- 34:56Speaker 4: he was at the stadium being like, what's happening right now? Yeah.
- 34:59Speaker 4: Who are they?
- 35:00Speaker 1: No, literally.
- 35:01Speaker 4: Which team's going which direction?
- 35:03Speaker 1: So there's an offense and a defense.
- 35:04Speaker 4: No ball?
- 35:04Speaker 1: It's a different play.
- 35:05Speaker 5: This is the one that this is the one that
- 35:07Speaker 5: really got me this is the one where i would
- 35:09Speaker 5: say i went from being like kind of annoyed to
- 35:10Speaker 5: mad there it's like third and five or something syracuse
- 35:15Speaker 5: has the ball they're on like the louisville's like 20
- 35:19Speaker 5: quarterback gets blitzed big blitz four guys coming for him
- 35:24Speaker 5: there's no one guarding him and he like runs backwards
- 35:27Speaker 5: and gets rid of the ball and the guy is
- 35:29Speaker 5: like the guy sitting in front of us he's like
- 35:31Speaker 5: what the fuck? You got to go forward. And it's like, yeah,
- 35:35Speaker 5: don't you think he wanted to go forward? Don't you
- 35:37Speaker 5: think he knows that he's got to go forward? Like
- 35:40Speaker 5: that's going to be the thing that you're going to
- 35:42Speaker 5: yell out about. So he just discovered football.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:45Speaker 5: It's like if you watch Steph Curry miss and you're like,
- 35:48Speaker 5: you got to hit, you got to get it in
- 35:49Speaker 5: the hoop. It's like, yeah, dude, it was, it's the
- 35:53Speaker 5: whole point of the game. And they're trying to make
- 35:55Speaker 5: him not go forward. They stopped him from going forward.
- 35:58Speaker 5: That wasn't an error on him.
- 36:01Speaker 1: That's some nice in-stadium entertainment.
- 36:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 36:03Speaker 1: And they wound up losing.
- 36:05Speaker 5: And then we left at half. Everyone leaves at half.
- 36:07Speaker 5: We left at half. They left at half, too. And
- 36:10Speaker 5: I was like, you can't be that passionate of a
- 36:12Speaker 5: fan and then leave at half.
- 36:14Speaker 4: That was a close game, too.
- 36:15Speaker 5: I know.
- 36:16Speaker 6: And look at the first half to the second half.
- 36:19Speaker 4: 48 to 23 at halftime.
- 36:20Speaker 1: No juice in the second half. In the first half,
- 36:23Speaker 1: there was like... how many points scored like a 50
- 36:26Speaker 1: fucking points scored in the first half and then the
- 36:28Speaker 1: second half there was nine points scored yeah you guys
- 36:30Speaker 1: gave them no energy how can you bail on the
- 36:33Speaker 1: sweet orange.
- 36:34Speaker 5: Because we were staying like 30 minutes away and it
- 36:36Speaker 5: was already nine and everyone in my family goes to
- 36:37Speaker 5: bed at like 9 30 so it was a night
- 36:40Speaker 5: game yeah it was a night game which kind of
- 36:42Speaker 5: sucked it would have been i think it would have
- 36:43Speaker 5: been more fun if it was like noon.
- 36:45Speaker 4: Did you guys go to any sort of tailgate or
- 36:47Speaker 4: anything like that.
- 36:48Speaker 5: Uh we like went to like the quad and stuff
- 36:50Speaker 5: and walked around before the game The fun zone, the
- 36:53Speaker 5: Toyota fun zone.
- 36:54Speaker 4: Did a lot of.
- 37:01Speaker 5: There was like a band playing. It was like a
- 37:03Speaker 5: band playing Guns N' Roses music like in the quad
- 37:06Speaker 5: for no there was no one. And my dad, we
- 37:09Speaker 5: were joking, and he was like, yeah, we got a
- 37:10Speaker 5: huge gig this weekend. We're playing in the front of
- 37:12Speaker 5: the Toyota Fun Zone. Just the entrance, though.
- 37:18Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 37:20Speaker 4: Your sister's a freshman there? Yeah. How's she liking it?
- 37:23Speaker 5: I think she likes it a lot. I mean, it's
- 37:24Speaker 5: a really, really nice campus. Yeah. We went to the
- 37:29Speaker 5: eSports facility, which is just in the student area or whatever.
- 37:33Speaker 5: It's not like we went out. I didn't make anyone
- 37:35Speaker 5: go out of the way. And we walked around and
- 37:37Speaker 5: my God, they got some proper equipment in there.
- 37:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:42Speaker 1: There's an eSports facility.
- 37:44Speaker 5: They got every team. They have Call of Duty, which
- 37:46Speaker 5: was a little alarming.
- 37:47Speaker 4: Dude, you want to hear something crazy about how specific
- 37:49Speaker 4: my Instagram algorithm has become? I have a guy who
- 37:55Speaker 4: suggests cool pieces of furniture. Yeah. Every single one of
- 37:58Speaker 4: which would be a gift that I would get you.
- 38:02Speaker 1: Oh, fuck.
- 38:02Speaker 5: I got you guys gifts and I forgot them.
- 38:04Speaker 4: What? What? Yeah.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Are you serious?
- 38:06Speaker 4: Yeah. That's pretty cool.
- 38:07Speaker 1: From Syracuse?
- 38:08Speaker 5: No, from Columbus.
- 38:11Speaker 1: That's honestly even better. I love Columbus as a city.
- 38:15Speaker 1: Can we guess what they are?
- 38:17Speaker 4: Sure.
- 38:18Speaker 1: My guess is a Columbus crew scarf or something like that.
- 38:22Speaker 5: It's close. It's not clothing, but it is something you
- 38:25Speaker 5: would buy at a Hudson News at an airport. My
- 38:32Speaker 5: flight wasn't until I won, so I was just at
- 38:34Speaker 5: the airport. Walking around.
- 38:36Speaker 1: Purchasing. Stimulating the economy.
- 38:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 38:39Speaker 1: The esports facility looks like a fucking casino.
- 38:41Speaker 5: Bro, it's crazy.
- 38:42Speaker 1: With the blue underlights.
- 38:44Speaker 5: They got 4080 Super GPUs. $ 1, 700 GPU.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Are those kids on scholarship?
- 38:50Speaker 5: Some of them, yeah.
- 38:51Speaker 1: What?
- 38:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 38:52Speaker 1: What the fuck? I know.
- 38:55Speaker 4: What?
- 38:55Speaker 5: Actually, I'm not even really sure for Syracuse. I know
- 38:57Speaker 5: that we have a player on Bush right now who
- 39:01Speaker 5: is 18 and he goes to Fisher in Boston. and
- 39:06Speaker 5: he's on scholarship so he has to just play in
- 39:08Speaker 5: like the college league like once a month and then
- 39:11Speaker 5: he gets to play call of duty full-time for free
- 39:13Speaker 5: pretty sick yeah it's pretty cool another guy in challengers
- 39:17Speaker 5: is he's using it to get like his nursing degree
- 39:19Speaker 5: he's going to school for free.
- 39:21Speaker 1: It's kind of respectable isn't that how dave got into michigan.
- 39:24Speaker 5: Yeah yeah smash bros dave was competitive in Melee before.
- 39:31Speaker 1: Francis, what's your general feeling on the fact that Harry's
- 39:36Speaker 1: wearing my gift that I got him, that sweatshirt, but
- 39:39Speaker 1: we still haven't seen the L.L. Bean, even though he
- 39:42Speaker 1: clearly got that first.
- 39:43Speaker 5: Oh, I was wearing the L.L. Bean T-shirt all weekend.
- 39:46Speaker 5: It's a staple.
- 39:47Speaker 1: I didn't see that.
- 39:49Speaker 5: You didn't see me.
- 39:51Speaker 1: The fact remains.
- 39:53Speaker 4: I'm happy that he's wearing your hoodie. I think it's
- 39:56Speaker 4: a really cool hoodie. I like the story of it.
- 39:59Speaker 4: I like that the pub has been open for all
- 40:01Speaker 4: that time. I think it's cool. It's embroidered. As long
- 40:06Speaker 4: as one of us has gotten him something that he likes,
- 40:09Speaker 4: it's a win for the pod. It's a win for
- 40:11Speaker 4: this couch.
- 40:12Speaker 5: You guys have to continue to guess what you got.
- 40:16Speaker 4: Um... columbus ohio what are they isn't there there's that
- 40:20Speaker 4: one billionaire who like built the.
- 40:21Speaker 1: Whole town ohio state's there right of course is it
- 40:27Speaker 1: ohio state related it could be you're getting closer.
- 40:31Speaker 4: Is it a food thing is there any food oh
- 40:33Speaker 4: buckeyes i was gonna say isn't that a treat there's.
- 40:35Speaker 1: A peanut butter wrapped in uh yeah those.
- 40:38Speaker 4: Are good i would have liked it's really like can
- 40:41Speaker 4: you go back and trade whatever you got for some.
- 40:43Speaker 5: Guys or like can you make i should have done
- 40:44Speaker 5: that because it's a pretty bad gift yeah what is
- 40:48Speaker 5: it tell me a magnet.
- 40:51Speaker 1: My fridge isn't even magnetic the front of my fridge
- 40:54Speaker 1: is literally like fucking plastic you can't put magnets on
- 40:56Speaker 1: it you're.
- 40:57Speaker 5: Gonna have to find somewhere you bought us magnets it's
- 40:59Speaker 5: a magnet of the ohio state stadium it's so bad
- 41:04Speaker 5: top down for you what do you mean that's so bad.
- 41:07Speaker 4: How big are the magnets they're like this big Ohio State.
- 41:11Speaker 4: Small magnets?
- 41:11Speaker 5: Yeah, for the refrigerator.
- 41:13Speaker 4: My refrigerator has wood paneling on the front.
- 41:17Speaker 5: He doesn't have a metal surface.
- 41:19Speaker 4: It's beautiful. It matches the cabinetry.
- 41:21Speaker 5: You guys outclassed magnets?
- 41:22Speaker 4: You think I would have chosen a... Can't wait to
- 41:26Speaker 4: put it on my oven?
- 41:30Speaker 5: How about I buy you guys some whiteboards or something
- 41:32Speaker 5: so you can put it on there?
- 41:34Speaker 4: You want to buy me something on which I can
- 41:37Speaker 4: put my Ohio State magnet?
- 41:39Speaker 5: What if I got you a nice whiteboard like that
- 41:40Speaker 5: for your apartment?
- 41:41Speaker 1: The magnet's not going to stick on that. What are
- 41:42Speaker 1: you talking about? Do you know how magnets work?
- 41:45Speaker 5: Do you know how whiteboards work? You've never seen a
- 41:47Speaker 5: magnet on a whiteboard?
- 41:48Speaker 1: No chance that's magnetic.
- 41:50Speaker 5: Did you not go to college or high school? I
- 41:55Speaker 5: would say that's probably the number one destination for magnets
- 41:58Speaker 5: is a whiteboard.
- 41:58Speaker 4: I would have said a refrigerator.
- 41:59Speaker 1: Refrigerator. Yeah, a refrigerator.
- 42:01Speaker 4: Refrigerator's number one.
- 42:02Speaker 1: You would think. Or what about a car?
- 42:03Speaker 5: A car? Like a bumper sticker?
- 42:07Speaker 4: Like engineering or something.
- 42:08Speaker 1: Or like one of those flat magnets, the sticker magnets.
- 42:12Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. That could work. Yeah, what about
- 42:15Speaker 4: like Brio trains? When I was a kid, I used
- 42:16Speaker 4: to connect my Brio trains with magnets.
- 42:18Speaker 5: Yeah, that works.
- 42:19Speaker 4: Mm-hmm. So I'll get you a Brio train that you can... No,
- 42:22Speaker 4: I want Buckeyes. I want those chocolate things that look
- 42:24Speaker 4: like hazelnuts.
- 42:25Speaker 5: That's really nasty that you guys aren't even going to
- 42:28Speaker 5: accept my gift.
- 42:29Speaker 4: You didn't even bring it.
- 42:30Speaker 5: Because I knew this would happen. I knew this would
- 42:33Speaker 5: be the reaction. Because it's not a $ 10, 000 cologne. I
- 42:40Speaker 5: can't afford to get you guys what you really want.
- 42:42Speaker 5: So now you won't even accept my gift.
- 42:44Speaker 4: Dude, no joke. So there were two things in a
- 42:47Speaker 4: row that popped up. It's this guy, I don't even
- 42:49Speaker 4: follow him, but he goes like eight cool pieces of
- 42:52Speaker 4: furniture that I discovered this past week. And he's got
- 42:56Speaker 4: really good taste. And one of them, I mean, I
- 43:00Speaker 4: think he has good taste. One of them is a
- 43:04Speaker 4: full length mirror that is the frame of which is
- 43:09Speaker 4: a PSP.
- 43:10Speaker 5: Oh, I've seen those. Those are sick.
- 43:12Speaker 4: Isn't that cool?
- 43:12Speaker 5: Yeah, those are awesome.
- 43:13Speaker 4: I thought that might be cool for you.
- 43:14Speaker 5: Yeah, those are sick.
- 43:15Speaker 1: Like a deconstructed PSP?
- 43:16Speaker 5: No, it's like a massive PSP. Like a human-sized PSP.
- 43:21Speaker 4: Would you put something like that in your house, or
- 43:23Speaker 4: is that too on the nose?
- 43:25Speaker 5: I mean, no, I would. I just like, it is like,
- 43:28Speaker 5: it's crazy.
- 43:29Speaker 4: Yeah, that's it. So my point in finding this was
- 43:32Speaker 4: I was like, well, I know Harry needs a life
- 43:34Speaker 4: size or he needs a mirror. No, I have a
- 43:36Speaker 4: mirror at this place. But you don't have a full size,
- 43:38Speaker 4: do you?
- 43:39Speaker 5: No, I do.
- 43:39Speaker 4: Oh, you got one?
- 43:40Speaker 5: It just was in the apartment when I got there.
- 43:42Speaker 5: We could wrap it.
- 43:43Speaker 1: We could wrap it in PSP.
- 43:44Speaker 5: Look, I'll take the PSP mirror.
- 43:47Speaker 4: Does that mean you're no longer filming yourself and your outfits? No,
- 43:51Speaker 4: I don't believe you.
- 43:52Speaker 5: You paused as if you still are doing it. I
- 43:55Speaker 5: couldn't think of what you were talking about. But no,
- 43:57Speaker 5: I'm not doing that anymore.
- 43:58Speaker 4: Those days are over? They're over, yeah.
- 43:59Speaker 5: They're behind us.
- 44:01Speaker 1: Wow.
- 44:02Speaker 5: I liked those days. This would go great because I
- 44:04Speaker 5: was also looking at a refrigerator that's an Xbox.
- 44:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 44:09Speaker 5: And it's like an actual size. Can we pull that up?
- 44:11Speaker 5: Because I was talking to a guy on Facebook Marketplace.
- 44:14Speaker 1: How much is he asking?
- 44:15Speaker 5: He's asking for $ 40, but He wanted me to go
- 44:18Speaker 5: to his apartment to get it, which I was like.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Look, I'll throw in 20 for that.
- 44:23Speaker 5: It's a piece of shit already.
- 44:24Speaker 4: Just tell him to put it in an Uber courier.
- 44:26Speaker 5: I know, right?
- 44:26Speaker 4: That's the right way to do that.
- 44:28Speaker 1: That you pay for.
- 44:28Speaker 4: That's actually really smart.
- 44:30Speaker 5: I never even thought about that. But they make full
- 44:32Speaker 5: sized ones too that are like 600 bucks, which that
- 44:35Speaker 5: would be hilarious if I got rid of my refrigerator.
- 44:38Speaker 5: to move in the xbox and i have a psp
- 44:42Speaker 5: mirror that's where it's like people are going to start
- 44:44Speaker 5: coming over and being like yo you got to like
- 44:46Speaker 5: get outside if you got the xbox.
- 44:50Speaker 7: Refrigerator it's a full bro that's bigger than my refrigerator
- 45:01Speaker 7: it looks like a vault.
- 45:04Speaker 5: Imagine telling your landlord in the psp mirror that's like
- 45:08Speaker 5: my parents are going to be like you gotta.
- 45:10Speaker 4: There have to be other things now we want to
- 45:13Speaker 4: decorate your entire home with video game themed things.
- 45:18Speaker 5: I mean that thing is massive if you if you like.
- 45:22Speaker 1: Moved out and you hadn't told your landlord he's like
- 45:26Speaker 1: why the fuck is there an xbox.
- 45:28Speaker 5: But they make a mini one the mini one was
- 45:30Speaker 5: the one i was gonna get.
- 45:31Speaker 1: You think we can get that for in here.
- 45:33Speaker 5: Probably yeah The mini or the big? The big one
- 45:37Speaker 5: would be awesome.
- 45:38Speaker 1: I'm open to either one.
- 45:40Speaker 5: Maybe it would cool down in here a little bit.
- 45:41Speaker 5: What's up with Pete? He's out?
- 45:44Speaker 4: Huh?
- 45:44Speaker 5: All business Pete?
- 45:45Speaker 4: What do you mean?
- 45:46Speaker 5: It sounded like they fixed the IC and now he
- 45:48Speaker 5: came in here and destroyed it again? Because there's no
- 45:51Speaker 5: air going right now.
- 45:52Speaker 4: There's not any air. And my guess is that it's
- 45:55Speaker 4: just off. But I would like it on. Because I
- 46:00Speaker 4: chose this sweater under the impression we'd have it.
- 46:03Speaker 5: That's my biggest pet peeve on the planet.
- 46:06Speaker 4: And now I'm hot. Yep. And I don't want to
- 46:09Speaker 4: take it off because the shirt I have under it is.
- 46:11Speaker 5: Stupid as shit.
- 46:12Speaker 4: It's not presentable.
- 46:13Speaker 5: I'm in the same boat right now.
- 46:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 46:15Speaker 5: I can't present in the shirt that I'm wearing.
- 46:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 46:18Speaker 1: I just, I ratcheted down to 68 the other day.
- 46:21Speaker 1: Like my wife was like, you know, air conditioning season's over.
- 46:24Speaker 1: It's not over.
- 46:25Speaker 5: It's not over.
- 46:25Speaker 1: I woke up in a fucking hot sweat on Saturday morning.
- 46:28Speaker 5: People love to get, they jump the gun with the AC.
- 46:31Speaker 4: Yes.
- 46:32Speaker 5: It's one day where it's 60 and they're like, pull
- 46:34Speaker 5: the ACs out. Get rid of the AC.
- 46:36Speaker 4: You know what I did? Because I've been upstate. I've
- 46:39Speaker 4: been sleeping with my window open up there. Very nice.
- 46:42Speaker 4: That's nice. It is awesome. Incredible.
- 46:44Speaker 5: I feel like you sleep better with that.
- 46:46Speaker 4: I sleep so well. My sleep scores over the last
- 46:48Speaker 4: four days have been like an average of 92.
- 46:50Speaker 5: I feel like it's actually like you noticeably feel it.
- 46:54Speaker 4: That said, I woke up freezing this morning.
- 46:58Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 46:58Speaker 4: It was too cold. Yeah. Because if you crack it,
- 47:02Speaker 4: it's one of those ones you whine.
- 47:04Speaker 5: Yeah, you crank.
- 47:04Speaker 4: And it opens like that, not up. Mm-hmm. And so
- 47:09Speaker 4: you crack it a little bit, you get a nice
- 47:11Speaker 4: little stream of fresh air. Love that. Mountain air.
- 47:15Speaker 5: Love that.
- 47:15Speaker 4: You know? But if you go too much, it's a gust.
- 47:18Speaker 5: Now you're outside. You're outside now.
- 47:19Speaker 4: You're outside. You wake up with icicles on your beard.
- 47:23Speaker 4: That's good for the brain, though. I wonder. Dude, I've
- 47:28Speaker 4: been having... My life has been great lately. I love that.
- 47:32Speaker 4: I'm really just been.
- 47:34Speaker 1: All right, that's been a good show, everybody. Who wants
- 47:38Speaker 1: to hear this, bro?
- 47:39Speaker 4: Who are we?
- 47:40Speaker 1: Get depressed again. No, I know.
- 47:41Speaker 4: I've just been upstate, and the weather was beyond belief.
- 47:47Speaker 5: It's been really nice. It was insane.
- 47:49Speaker 4: You should have come to Q's. There was not a
- 47:52Speaker 4: cloud Sunday. There was not a cloud in the sky.
- 47:55Speaker 4: And it was cool and crisp, but the sun was
- 47:58Speaker 4: so strong that as long as you were in the sun,
- 48:01Speaker 4: you were warm. And the trees, the foliage, I was
- 48:05Speaker 4: playing golf all day. I played 18 holes in the
- 48:07Speaker 4: morning and then I was like, all right, I should stop,
- 48:09Speaker 4: watch football, go to the gym, watch football. I went
- 48:12Speaker 4: to the gym, did a little bit of a workout,
- 48:15Speaker 4: kept looking outside like, what the fuck am I doing
- 48:18Speaker 4: in here? This might be the last good day like
- 48:20Speaker 4: this of the year. I agree. So then I went
- 48:23Speaker 4: out back out and played another 18 holes.
- 48:24Speaker 1: Unbelievable.
- 48:25Speaker 5: I like that.
- 48:26Speaker 1: Guys, let's take a second and talk about quints. You
- 48:29Speaker 1: know how you have those pieces in your closet that
- 48:32Speaker 1: you just keep on coming back to? You find yourself
- 48:34Speaker 1: wearing these things on repeat because they are staples in
- 48:37Speaker 1: your wardrobe. The easier something goes with everything, the perfect
- 48:41Speaker 1: pair of pants, the tee that you somehow always reach for,
- 48:44Speaker 1: the more often those things are going to be in play.
- 48:48Speaker 1: And that's why we have to be messing with our
- 48:50Speaker 1: good friends over at quints. Obviously, this is sweater season.
- 48:54Speaker 1: Francis has had a sweater on all episode, and sweaters
- 48:59Speaker 1: are something that Quince does incredibly well because there's high-quality

- 49:50Speaker 1: to get the drinks. He has, against his will, become
- 49:54Speaker 1: the guy. Luckily, the Venmo debit mastercard has your back.

- 50:44Speaker 5: I kind of like, are you guys feeling like it's
- 50:46Speaker 5: like you're loosening up the shackles on Sunday football? Like
- 50:50Speaker 5: you're not sitting down for the full 10 hours.
- 50:52Speaker 4: I don't think I watched a single minute of football yesterday.
- 50:54Speaker 5: I like that.
- 50:55Speaker 1: I loosened the shackles a little bit.
- 50:56Speaker 5: I loosened the shackles yesterday too.
- 50:57Speaker 1: I was an hour late. I was at like the,
- 51:01Speaker 1: you know, the pumpkin patch, the petting zoo.
- 51:03Speaker 5: You got to get outside.
- 51:04Speaker 1: And then the second game, I made a soup During
- 51:07Speaker 1: the second games, I made a creamy gnocchi and sausage soup.
- 51:13Speaker 4: Holy shit, dude.
- 51:14Speaker 1: It was amazing.
- 51:15Speaker 4: That's good.
- 51:15Speaker 5: You hand rolled that gnocchi?
- 51:16Speaker 1: Of course. Really? Yeah, hand cut, rolled.
- 51:19Speaker 5: No way.
- 51:20Speaker 1: Of course. Really?
- 51:21Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:22Speaker 5: Very impressive.
- 51:23Speaker 4: Does this look like a guy who doesn't hand roll
- 51:24Speaker 4: his own gnocchi? Yes.
- 51:26Speaker 1: Also, I'd like to add that I did not hand
- 51:28Speaker 1: roll the gnocchi.
- 51:30Speaker 5: There we go.
- 51:30Speaker 4: Well, I'm glad we got that.
- 51:32Speaker 1: I paid for the better one, though.
- 51:34Speaker 5: Oh, I love that.
- 51:35Speaker 1: At the grocery store.
- 51:36Speaker 5: Did someone come over and roll it?
- 51:38Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 51:39Speaker 1: I had a small Nona come over. Made her throw
- 51:43Speaker 1: out the first batch. But yeah, it's nice to loosen
- 51:45Speaker 1: the grip on football a little bit.
- 51:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 51:48Speaker 4: I think I have a development I want your guys'
- 51:50Speaker 4: opinion on.
- 51:51Speaker 5: Let's hear it.
- 51:51Speaker 4: Let's develop. I want a dog.
- 51:55Speaker 1: Oh.
- 51:58Speaker 4: I really want a dog.
- 51:59Speaker 5: I mean, I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
- 52:04Speaker 5: Rone's reaction is so funny. You should get a cat.
- 52:08Speaker 4: No, I would never do such a thing.
- 52:10Speaker 5: I'm just going to bring a cat to your apartment.
- 52:12Speaker 4: Invite a demon proxy into my home.
- 52:15Speaker 5: You're just going to come back upstate and there's going
- 52:17Speaker 5: to be like 10 cats in your house.
- 52:18Speaker 1: And you'll have to buy a dog to hunt it.
- 52:20Speaker 1: You'll get into a Sylvester and Tweety type of situation.
- 52:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 52:24Speaker 1: Dog and the cat. Tom and Jerry, but what about
- 52:27Speaker 1: your life do you think makes you want a dog?
- 52:29Speaker 4: It's also not a dog in.
- 52:32Speaker 1: A cat.
- 52:33Speaker 4: What is the dog in the cat cartoon? What is it?
- 52:36Speaker 5: Well, there is a dog in Tom and Jerry. You
- 52:38Speaker 5: just don't really see him that often.
- 52:39Speaker 6: Is it like Lady and the– no, it's not Lady
- 52:42Speaker 6: and the Tramp. Cat dog.
- 52:45Speaker 4: Cat dog.
- 52:46Speaker 1: Cat-dog, they're attached.
- 52:48Speaker 4: They shit out of each other's mouths.
- 52:49Speaker 5: I don't know if I'm in on cat-dog.
- 52:53Speaker 1: Yeah. Isn't there a mean... I thought there was a
- 52:55Speaker 1: mean dog in Tom and Jerry.
- 52:57Speaker 4: There is.
- 52:58Speaker 1: That's like a big... Fucking angry dog. But there has
- 53:03Speaker 1: to be one where a dog fights a cat. Has
- 53:05Speaker 1: no one thought of this?
- 53:06Speaker 4: There must be.
- 53:06Speaker 1: Are we just coming up with this now?
- 53:09Speaker 4: Or that they're friends. Cat and dog... Cat and dog friends.
- 53:15Speaker 1: No, no, no. I don't want them to be friends.
- 53:17Speaker 1: I want them to war at all times like cats
- 53:19Speaker 1: and dogs do.
- 53:20Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 53:20Speaker 1: So they haven't, no one's thought of this yet.
- 53:22Speaker 5: Again, this hasn't been done.
- 53:24Speaker 1: What the fuck?
- 53:26Speaker 4: So. Good on us. Well.
- 53:29Speaker 5: I just struck gold.
- 53:30Speaker 4: Okay, so let's talk through the dog thing because I
- 53:32Speaker 4: really need your advice. First, the first order of business
- 53:36Speaker 4: is that there's a litter of puppies that I went
- 53:39Speaker 4: to visit and they are beautiful German short-haired pointers.
- 53:45Speaker 5: Can we pull that up?
- 53:46Speaker 4: Are you familiar with this breed?
- 53:47Speaker 1: It kind of looks like my dog. That's what we.
- 53:49Speaker 4: Thought my dog was. Yes, definitely. It looks like your dog. Yeah.
- 53:52Speaker 1: The short hair pointer.
- 53:53Speaker 4: Yeah. They are bird hunting dogs. You guys know me. Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 53:58Speaker 4: Big time bird hunter. So I would not ever get
- 54:01Speaker 4: something that couldn't hunt birds. And incredibly loyal breed. uh
- 54:08Speaker 4: very smart but very high energy and need a lot
- 54:11Speaker 4: of exercise okay they need a lot of exercise but
- 54:15Speaker 4: so do i true um this is not a dog
- 54:19Speaker 4: that i would really bring to the city.
- 54:21Speaker 1: So what how would you so you come down to
- 54:23Speaker 1: the city to record the podcast and what happens to
- 54:26Speaker 1: the dog okay.
- 54:26Speaker 4: So the guy who bred the beautiful puppies he has
- 54:31Speaker 4: six dogs himself oh You met him.
- 54:34Speaker 5: What's a seventh?
- 54:35Speaker 4: It's Hussie, the guy who.
- 54:36Speaker 1: And we met those dogs. Is that one of those,
- 54:39Speaker 1: the mom?
- 54:41Speaker 4: Yes. Wow. He owns the mom and the dad, and
- 54:45Speaker 4: they're both breathtaking beasts. I mean, just beautiful. So you
- 54:53Speaker 4: can board your dog with him. He's got like a facility.
- 54:56Speaker 5: Yeah, he's got the cages.
- 54:58Speaker 4: And I would just presumably leave the dog with him.
- 55:02Speaker 4: For when I come into the city for one or
- 55:05Speaker 4: two days a week to do the podcast, whatever. And,
- 55:10Speaker 4: you know, the dog would be living with its mom,
- 55:13Speaker 4: dad and sister because he's going to keep whatever. There's
- 55:17Speaker 4: two left. There's two girl dogs left. If I get one,
- 55:20Speaker 4: he'll keep the other one.
- 55:21Speaker 5: That's great.
- 55:22Speaker 4: And so I wouldn't feel that guilty. I mean, it's
- 55:25Speaker 4: like leaving the dog is actually probably going to make
- 55:27Speaker 4: it happy.
- 55:28Speaker 5: It's going to have a blast.
- 55:28Speaker 4: If anything, it'll be less happy when it's with me. Right.
- 55:32Speaker 4: Which is exactly the type of masochism towards which I gravitate. Yeah, yeah.
- 55:36Speaker 1: Yeah, that'll be so nice.
- 55:38Speaker 4: The one person on earth whose dog is less happy
- 55:40Speaker 4: when it's with its owner. It'd be a perfect metaphor.
- 55:44Speaker 1: One on one time.
- 55:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 55:46Speaker 5: I mean, yeah, I think I would definitely do that.
- 55:48Speaker 5: It seems like a no-brainer.
- 55:49Speaker 4: You want to sit on the couch, smoke weed, and
- 55:51Speaker 4: watch football instead of letting me romp with my mom, dad,
- 55:54Speaker 4: and sister?
- 55:54Speaker 1: My mom is right there. I can see my mom outside.
- 55:57Speaker 4: I can hear how much fun they're having. They're hunting birds.
- 56:00Speaker 4: That is my birthright.
- 56:03Speaker 1: Now I'm just secondhand high.
- 56:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 56:07Speaker 1: Listening to fucking Scott Hansen talk about the Raiders game.
- 56:12Speaker 5: I think that's a no-brainer.
- 56:14Speaker 4: Well... It's not so simple.
- 56:17Speaker 5: Why?
- 56:18Speaker 4: Because, you know, we travel. We travel a lot. I mean,
- 56:21Speaker 4: I would have to leave the dog with Hussie a lot.
- 56:25Speaker 5: Yeah, but that's like the perfect situation.
- 56:27Speaker 4: Isn't it? Yeah.
- 56:29Speaker 1: It's not like an added responsibility for him. He lives
- 56:32Speaker 1: on the grounds and there's... If he has to take
- 56:35Speaker 1: care of seven dogs or eight dogs, what does it matter?
- 56:38Speaker 4: I know that the dog would be very happy if not...
- 56:40Speaker 4: legitimately more happy with him. That's where the dog has
- 56:44Speaker 4: lived its first three months of life or whatever. But
- 56:49Speaker 4: I just think there's a part of me that's like,
- 56:52Speaker 4: if I am envisioning becoming a dog owner with the
- 56:56Speaker 4: caveat that 50 days of the year, maybe more, I
- 57:02Speaker 4: have to relinquish the dog to uh someone else uh
- 57:07Speaker 4: is that does that make me eligible or does that
- 57:10Speaker 4: disqualify me do.
- 57:11Speaker 5: You know what i mean like i think that's way
- 57:12Speaker 5: better than the alternative which is you're bringing the dog
- 57:16Speaker 5: into the city where it's going to sit in a
- 57:17Speaker 5: tiny apartment.
- 57:18Speaker 4: Correct especially an outdoor dog yeah needs a lot of exercise.
- 57:22Speaker 5: I would much rather see that than see like you
- 57:25Speaker 5: being one of those people walking around west village with
- 57:27Speaker 5: like a husky and it's 95 degrees out yeah did
- 57:30Speaker 5: you catch that yeah you're not supposed to.
- 57:33Speaker 1: Be here no there's some dogs that are like taller
- 57:36Speaker 1: than leopards oh yeah like loose back hips yeah you
- 57:39Speaker 1: are not supposed to be in a fucking city yeah.
- 57:41Speaker 5: I mean i always see people walking around with australian
- 57:43Speaker 5: shepherds and it's like those are supposed to be like
- 57:46Speaker 5: running around in a field hurting yeah.
- 57:48Speaker 4: Yeah so i mean look i i'm sure among our
- 57:52Speaker 4: listeners we have people who really know dogs well and
- 57:55Speaker 4: uh if anyone out there has experienced german shorthair pointers
- 57:59Speaker 4: i'd be very keen to hear i previously had an
- 58:02Speaker 4: english setter which is the other marquee bird hunting dog
- 58:06Speaker 4: these are the two breeds that are really bred to
- 58:10Speaker 4: hunt birds the english setter was amazing i loved this
- 58:13Speaker 4: dog and its temperament was a little less energetic um
- 58:18Speaker 4: i think than uh than a gsp as we as
- 58:20Speaker 4: we call yeah yeah um you don't do gshp.
- 58:24Speaker 6: No no no can everyone gets it yeah german shirt
- 58:30Speaker 6: point is short hair is one word i think it's actually.
- 58:33Speaker 4: In the breed name they do do it as one
- 58:35Speaker 4: name whatever point is um english setters can mold their
- 58:41Speaker 4: sort of energy to whatever you're doing so if you're
- 58:44Speaker 4: out on a hike and romping around they keep up
- 58:48Speaker 4: they're with you they're having a great time But if
- 58:51Speaker 4: you also need to be inside, like they're mellow and
- 58:54Speaker 4: kind of happy to be on a couch with you, whatever.
- 58:58Speaker 4: So I'm thinking hard about this. By the way, all
- 59:00Speaker 4: of this is coming about because I think I'm done
- 59:03Speaker 4: with women. Oh, nice. Nothing against women. I just, I've
- 59:09Speaker 4: tried and... doesn't work. So I'm going to go to
- 59:13Speaker 4: dogs now.
- 59:14Speaker 5: I think that's only fair.
- 59:16Speaker 4: Dog sexual.
- 59:17Speaker 1: Yeah, that does answer the question. I mean, it's not
- 59:19Speaker 1: like you're ever going to give up your spot up state,
- 59:21Speaker 1: you know, like if you were. like say you married,
- 59:24Speaker 1: like since you're off women, say you married a really
- 59:26Speaker 1: nice guy.
- 59:27Speaker 4: No, nice dog.
- 59:30Speaker 1: If this guy's like, I want to live in New Jersey,
- 59:32Speaker 1: this guy dog, this guy dog wants to live in
- 59:36Speaker 1: New Jersey.
- 59:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 59:38Speaker 1: And like, are you going to take this dog in
- 59:41Speaker 1: seven years or something, like away from its family to
- 59:44Speaker 1: a new location? Or you're always going to have this
- 59:47Speaker 1: as a home base where?
- 59:48Speaker 4: Well, that's a good question. I mean, I think that
- 59:50Speaker 4: no matter what, whatever the next home we, me and
- 59:54Speaker 4: this guy would have would be, uh, somewhere in the country. Not, not,
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: I'm not going to like give up my place of
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: state to put all of my eggs in the basket
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: of Manhattan or fucking Brooklyn. Um, yeah, I just, I'm
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: lonely and I hate it. I fucking hate it. And
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: we're heading into winter. Oh, yeah.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: Long, dark.
- 1:00:20Speaker 5: They're saying it's going to be the darkest winter ever.
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: Days and nights. Yeah.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: The loneliest winter, too. I heard the Doppler radar said
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: it's going to be a very lonely winter.
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:00:29Speaker 5: Lonely, cold, and dark.
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: And rather than, you know, sort of fill that hole
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: with women, dog.
- 1:00:40Speaker 5: And porn.
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: Yeah. Jerk. I'll just get, well, the dog. When I
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: have the dog, I'll be watching a lot more porn.
- 1:00:46Speaker 5: Yeah, of course.
- 1:00:47Speaker 4: I mean, I'm going to be cranking hog three times
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: a day.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: But irish setters are cool about it they'll just like
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: kind of.
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: They give you privacy i can match this you say
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: place place.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: How long of a goon session do you think you're about.
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: To go for how long am i placing for.
- 1:01:06Speaker 5: You jerk off you go run with the dog for
- 1:01:07Speaker 5: a little bit come back.
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: They'll know first one of the day four minutes second
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: one eight third A couple hours.
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: It's like when there's a hurricane. They'll smell it before
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: you even know.
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: They'll know.
- 1:01:19Speaker 5: Feel it in the bones.
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: He's probably about.
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: To jerk off. He's bored. He's bored and hungover. It's
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: going to be a lot of placing today.
- 1:01:31Speaker 5: Bored and hungover is hilarious.
- 1:01:34Speaker 4: Oh, no. I might as well just stay in the
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: crate all fucking day. He's going to be screencasting off
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: his phone to the TV. He's drawing the blinds.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: All right. Just give me the hussy.
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:01:51Speaker 5: Are you going out of town again? No, I'm jerking
- 1:01:54Speaker 5: off today. For a while. I figured he'd be better
- 1:01:58Speaker 5: here with you guys. Or are you just like you
- 1:02:04Speaker 5: got him like on like the leash around a tree outside?
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: Oh, man. Yeah. So, no, I don't know. I mean,
- 1:02:17Speaker 4: I think I'm thinking hard about it. I hate my
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: life without a dog. I'm obsessed with dogs.
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: Yeah, you need a dog.
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: I couldn't have a dog. uh, when my wife and
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: I split up, she took the dog with my blessing.
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: I couldn't, I couldn't care for a dog because I
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: traveled too much touring and all that. But now I'm
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: kind of a little more, you know, centered and traveling less.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: And, um, who are you playing golf with all weekend?
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: Yeah. Different groups of folks.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: So you were with folks, you weren't like solo. Yes.
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: But when, when golf season ends with literally in a
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: week up there, the course closes, you're going to.
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: Have to teach the dog to play golf.
- 1:02:58Speaker 4: Yeah. Well, we'll walk the golf course in the morning
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: and the night and the dog will run, but it
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: will be covered in snow. It's really magical. We get
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: a lot of snow up there.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: That's going to be so nice.
- 1:03:11Speaker 5: I remember one time I was up staying with Francis.
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: We were doing a show at the Funny Bone in Albany.
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: That's right.
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: And he had us walk the golf course at night.
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: No, it was during the day.
- 1:03:21Speaker 5: It was the coldest I've ever been.
- 1:03:23Speaker 4: I asked you if you wanted a coat. This is
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: such a classic perversion of the truth from you.
- 1:03:31Speaker 5: He was like, we're going to go walk the dog.
- 1:03:32Speaker 5: I'm used to walking the dog. You just bring it
- 1:03:34Speaker 5: outside for 30 seconds and come right back in.
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: I'm like, I'm going to go walk the dog. Do
- 1:03:38Speaker 4: you want to come? It's cold. I have an extra coat.
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: You're going to want something other than the shoes you're
- 1:03:43Speaker 4: wearing that have holes in them.
- 1:03:45Speaker 5: Yeah, those shoes. And he goes, he was like, I'm good.
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: No, no, no. I'm good. I'm good. I got this.
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: He's wearing a Patriots windbreaker.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: Over a threadbare hoodie at best. And again, his shoes literally,
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: you could see his toes wiggling between the flappy sole.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: Like a hobo.
- 1:04:03Speaker 4: Yeah. And we're walking in snow.
- 1:04:05Speaker 5: It was so cold.
- 1:04:06Speaker 4: And after three minutes, he's like, this is the most
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: unhappy I've ever felt.
- 1:04:11Speaker 5: It was so unbelievably cold.
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: What month was it?
- 1:04:15Speaker 4: The winter. It was probably like January or February or
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: something like that.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: And did you like bring a road soda or like
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: a joint to smoke or something?
- 1:04:22Speaker 5: No, no.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: To enhance the walk?
- 1:04:24Speaker 4: We had shows that night.
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: Companionship and conversation.
- 1:04:26Speaker 5: I don't think we were doing either of those things
- 1:04:28Speaker 5: at the time. No drinking or weed.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: Damn. So you guys were on just a.
- 1:04:32Speaker 5: We probably used some nicotine at some point.
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: A straight edge guy walk and smoked a cig.
- 1:04:37Speaker 4: Yeah. It was probably 2.30 in the afternoon.
- 1:04:39Speaker 5: Francis was on cigs big at that time.
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: Yeah, it was my big cig phase.
- 1:04:43Speaker 5: Because that's why we had to go on the long walk.
- 1:04:45Speaker 5: Because he was like, well, if we only go on
- 1:04:46Speaker 5: a short walk, I can only smoke one cig.
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: I want to chain smoke cigs.
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: That sounds like a nice time. I love going on
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: an adventurous walk with my dog.
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: Um, you could probably hit some trails. I wonder if
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: your dog, your new dog that you're definitely going to
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: get is, uh, is it going to hunt? Uh, is
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: it going to be able to have times when it
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: like actually does the birding or whatever?
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: Yeah. I don't know if I want to train it
- 1:05:11Speaker 4: about the bird hunting. I mean, there's a part of
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: me that does because I know that is the thing
- 1:05:16Speaker 4: that like lights them up and makes them feel purposeful.
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: I literally was playing with the puppies, uh, one at
- 1:05:24Speaker 4: a time to see which one i liked more uh
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: of the two and watched as one of them was
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: like circling around and then stopped to point went on
- 1:05:35Speaker 4: point with its foot up dead straight and i was
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: like that's so cool because it's only like three months
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: old yeah and aren't you it's already just doing that
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: instinctively if you.
- 1:05:45Speaker 5: Bring it on a walk it's just gonna be killing
- 1:05:47Speaker 5: birds the whole time Like you're walking back to the
- 1:05:50Speaker 5: house with just like a bag of dead birds.
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: Dude, these dogs kill like pheasants that were grown on
- 1:05:56Speaker 4: shelves in China.
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:58Speaker 4: They're not killing like doves. Yeah. Like birds of prey.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: They got a stack deck. They got juiced bats.
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: They're not pumas. Yeah. You know what I mean?
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: My dog will point sometimes. My dog points at fucking
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: like squirrels. I was just like, stop. And just start
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: creeping up on a squirrel.
- 1:06:16Speaker 4: That's cool. It is. Yeah, Ruby used to do that
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: at Kojai. She would run ahead, and then when our
- 1:06:21Speaker 4: little Frenchie would come along, she would stop to point
- 1:06:24Speaker 4: at it and then flush it. Oh, yeah.
- 1:06:26Speaker 5: Attack.
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: Interesting set of biological instincts that they have.
- 1:06:32Speaker 5: It's cool.
- 1:06:32Speaker 4: So I'm thinking hard about it. I think that this
- 1:06:35Speaker 4: would just be a much healthier choice for companionship.
- 1:06:40Speaker 5: Than prostitution?
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: Than... humans yeah yeah.
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: Yeah i i didn't know that you were off girls
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: but i'm i'm happy that you you finally came.
- 1:06:51Speaker 4: Home yeah i'm going i think i literally call my
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: mom and i explained that i was thinking about this
- 1:06:58Speaker 4: and she was like i'm deeply concerned that if you
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: get a dog that will spell the end of any
- 1:07:03Speaker 4: chance you have at finding a human mate and i
- 1:07:06Speaker 4: was like that's the point i.
- 1:07:09Speaker 5: Don't think a dog is gonna kill your social life
- 1:07:14Speaker 5: or anything like.
- 1:07:14Speaker 4: That i'm gonna get a dog and on the same
- 1:07:17Speaker 4: day that the dog gets neutered i'm getting of a
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: second oh my god we're gonna both get them done
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: at the vet that is ultimate loyalty they do the
- 1:07:25Speaker 4: two for one special yeah that is the ultimate yeah i.
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: Mean it's the same thing it's the same it's a
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: penis you know.
- 1:07:31Speaker 4: Yeah well i'm getting a girl dog so it's spade right.
- 1:07:33Speaker 6: Spade for a girl but you'll get neutered yeah but
- 1:07:36Speaker 6: i'll get i'll get neutered she'll get spayed and uh.
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: And we'll just be recovering next to each other, holding
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: paw in hand.
- 1:07:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:07:43Speaker 5: I used to think it was strange.
- 1:07:44Speaker 4: I'll be wearing a cone around my neck so I
- 1:07:48Speaker 4: don't rip the stitches out of my penis and my teeth.
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: Just making a deal with your dog that you lick
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: each other's assholes. I got a cone and you got
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: a cone. Figure this out.
- 1:08:01Speaker 5: Yeah, I would definitely do it. I would definitely go
- 1:08:03Speaker 5: for it. I don't see why not.
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: You're going to get... I'm sorry to tell you this.
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: Tell me.
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: You're going to get more girls with a dog.
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: No, because I will have to be retreating upstate. There's
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: nobody upstate. There's no one there. Bro, there.
- 1:08:16Speaker 5: Are you on the apps? Like if you're upstate, are
- 1:08:19Speaker 5: you on the apps or no?
- 1:08:20Speaker 4: Like Google Maps. Yeah. I don't really know my way
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: around that.
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: Well up there. What's the trail one? All trails? All trails.
- 1:08:28Speaker 4: Yeah. All trails.
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: All trails and Google Maps.
- 1:08:32Speaker 4: No, I don't date up there at all. I don't
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: even try. There's nobody around. Maybe one day.
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: Because women don't really– single women don't really retreat to
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: the woods.
- 1:08:42Speaker 4: No, no. Famously avoid it.
- 1:08:44Speaker 5: They retreat from the woods. Yeah, yeah. They famously avoid
- 1:08:46Speaker 5: the woods.
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: Back towards like civilization houses lighting. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, they don't.
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: I wonder why. Kind of a mark against them. Kind
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: of a failing on their part. I can think of.
- 1:08:56Speaker 5: A couple of good reasons.
- 1:08:58Speaker 4: Why?
- 1:08:59Speaker 5: To not be a woman in the woods by yourself.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: What are they?
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: You can only be a woman in the woods if
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: you've made a deal with the devil. Yeah. You're a witch.
- 1:09:07Speaker 4: And you rule the woods. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: Or like your Appalachian.
- 1:09:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: There's women in the woods down there. But they're wearing
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: like oversized T-shirts that they got from Target and like
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: jeans and like a fucking scream mask.
- 1:09:22Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: Trying to lure people.
- 1:09:24Speaker 4: They have hidden canisters of bear mace in their sleeves. Yeah.
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: The way Spider-Man shoots webs.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: They're deeply evil. Appalachian woods are scary as fuck. I
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: don't know. Are your woods that scary? No. Appalachian woods
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: have a different level of scariness where it's like you
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: hear sounds and Well, the Appalachian.
- 1:09:43Speaker 5: Woods are like, that's the real sticks.
- 1:09:45Speaker 4: My woods are lovely dark and deep. Yeah. And I
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: have miles to go before I sleep.
- 1:09:51Speaker 5: These woods are darker and deeper.
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: And they got a damn trail through them. Your shit
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: probably connects to the Appalachian Trail, does it?
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: Yes. It runs right through. Really? You see people hitchhiking.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: That shit is insane.
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: And you're like, are you cutting corners?
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:10:10Speaker 4: How can you tell people you hiked it?
- 1:10:12Speaker 5: I guess that kind of counts.
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: If you're trying to get a ride.
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: Hitchhiking the Appalachian Trail?
- 1:10:17Speaker 4: All right, one more quick lacrosse story that reminds me. Please, please.
- 1:10:21Speaker 4: And I may have told this before, but freshman year
- 1:10:23Speaker 4: of high school, I was playing at Chevris in Portland.
- 1:10:27Speaker 4: And I was a scared freshman, but I was a
- 1:10:30Speaker 4: big kid. So I made the team and we were
- 1:10:34Speaker 4: running one day. We had to run around the Casco
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: Bay loop. No, not Casco Bay. It's the Bay in Portland.
- 1:10:42Speaker 4: It might be Casco Bay.
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: Yeah, Casco Bay.
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: Back Bay. I think it's Back Bay. Yeah, running the Bay.
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: Back Bay.
- 1:10:48Speaker 5: Boston.
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: Three and a half mile run. Our coach made us
- 1:10:51Speaker 4: run it in cleats and pads and helmets with our sticks.
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: What surface is it?
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: It's like gravel. It sucked.
- 1:11:00Speaker 5: Yeah, that's not good. Did they make you hold your
- 1:11:02Speaker 5: sticks up?
- 1:11:04Speaker 4: No, you didn't have to like. pretend to cradle the
- 1:11:06Speaker 4: whole time but i just remember running this the three
- 1:11:09Speaker 4: and a half miles in cleats and and with pads
- 1:11:14Speaker 4: on and being like i don't think this is gonna
- 1:11:16Speaker 4: translate to the field whatsoever yeah.
- 1:11:19Speaker 5: Yeah if anything it's gonna just fuck you up uh
- 1:11:22Speaker 5: twist an ankle but.
- 1:11:23Speaker 6: We getting on the concrete there were a couple older
- 1:11:27Speaker 6: kids on the team adam horgan was one of them
- 1:11:31Speaker 6: um And I remember that I didn't know this had happened,
- 1:11:36Speaker 6: but they ran like a mile and then got in
- 1:11:40Speaker 6: a car.
- 1:11:42Speaker 7: Oh yeah.
- 1:11:42Speaker 4: And then they like went and had like a sandwich.
- 1:11:46Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: And then got dropped off with half a mile to
- 1:11:49Speaker 4: go and then ran the last part in.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: And somehow our coach found out. Oh no. And made
- 1:11:56Speaker 4: them run just those guys in practice in front of us.
- 1:12:01Speaker 4: Relentlessly while we all watched.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: Pretty funny.
- 1:12:06Speaker 4: It was pretty funny. Yeah. That's pretty good.
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: That's hilarious.
- 1:12:08Speaker 4: I don't know how they got found out.
- 1:12:10Speaker 5: That happens in The Office in the Fun Run episode.
- 1:12:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:12:13Speaker 5: Remember Stanley and Phyllis just getting the taxi immediately?
- 1:12:16Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:12:17Speaker 5: It's hilarious.
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: I think it happens in The Simpsons too. Bart Simpson
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: pops in at the end of a marathon. Did you
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: tell the coach? Was that how they found out?
- 1:12:24Speaker 4: I didn't even know it had happened. I didn't even know.
- 1:12:27Speaker 4: We all finished roughly around the same time.
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:12:33Speaker 4: They timed it perfectly. I was just a scared freshman.
- 1:12:38Speaker 4: I would never have said anything.
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: Who was their accomplice? I wonder who was in on it.
- 1:12:44Speaker 4: Well, I know, I remember distinctly Adam Horgan was one
- 1:12:47Speaker 4: of them, but he was such a good hockey player.
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: No, but who was the, he was the driver? Who drove?
- 1:12:51Speaker 4: No, I don't know who drove.
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: So it would have to be someone who's not on
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: the team that's like, I'm going to waste my time
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: getting a sandwich to just have you guys break the
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: rules for funsies.
- 1:12:59Speaker 5: Yeah, it was probably one of their boys.
- 1:13:00Speaker 4: I think they planned it. Yeah.
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: Yeah, it's probably, but I mean, that's a good boy.
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: If your boy's going to get up while you're doing
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: like your shit run.
- 1:13:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:13:07Speaker 5: I mean, he probably just wanted to go get food.
- 1:13:10Speaker 4: He may have already been getting food, seen them running,
- 1:13:13Speaker 4: being like, what the fuck?
- 1:13:14Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:13:14Speaker 4: I know those guys. Yeah. Hey.
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: Horgan.
- 1:13:17Speaker 5: Horgan.
- 1:13:20Speaker 4: Horgan was a really good hockey player. Our lacrosse team
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: my freshman year was just a bunch of hockey players.
- 1:13:27Speaker 5: That's what ours was too.
- 1:13:28Speaker 4: Just come over and they were all just naturally good
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: at lacrosse. Sticks.
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: We're talking about absolute sticks.
- 1:13:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: Guys who are sticks across the board. They're probably good
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: golfers now.
- 1:13:37Speaker 5: Probably.
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: Probably. Sammy Dangles. What the hell is his real name?
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: Sammy fucking Dangles.
- 1:13:44Speaker 4: That's his Instagram.
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: He's probably changed it to Sammy Dangles.
- 1:13:47Speaker 5: One of the kids that was really good at hockey
- 1:13:50Speaker 5: in our school was also the best golfer, but he
- 1:13:53Speaker 5: didn't play golf.
- 1:13:54Speaker 4: Sam Johnson. He had hockey.
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: Sammy Dangles.
- 1:13:57Speaker 4: Sam Johnson.
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: Click on Dangles' profile.
- 1:14:00Speaker 4: Was also there, but I don't think Sam Johnson was
- 1:14:02Speaker 4: one of the ones that cut. Whoa.
- 1:14:04Speaker 5: Sammy Dangles is a girl?
- 1:14:05Speaker 4: Yeah. I don't think Sam Johnson was one of the
- 1:14:12Speaker 4: ones who cut. No, I don't.
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: What the fuck? Everybody go give Sam Dangles a follow.
- 1:14:20Speaker 5: Which one is he?
- 1:14:22Speaker 4: I don't know. I hope he has a private account.
- 1:14:26Speaker 4: He was a good kid, though. I liked him a lot.
- 1:14:28Speaker 5: Is that him on the right?
- 1:14:29Speaker 4: No. No. He was also a really good hockey player.
- 1:14:35Speaker 4: All these guys played for the Junior Pirates. Oh, really?
- 1:14:38Speaker 4: Portland Junior Pirates. Yeah. And then went on to play juniors,
- 1:14:42Speaker 4: and then I think played a little bit in college. Damn.
- 1:14:44Speaker 5: That's pretty cool.
- 1:14:45Speaker 4: Yeah, it was cool.
- 1:14:46Speaker 5: Hockey's really, really hard to go to college for. Is it?
- 1:14:49Speaker 4: Yeah. I believe you. I just didn't know that.
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: Isn't it all kids who are like 26?
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a lot of people that have to do
- 1:14:56Speaker 5: a lot of post-grad school and shit.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: A bunch of Mormons. They're always Mormons.
- 1:15:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:15:03Speaker 5: I know a lot of kids that I know that
- 1:15:05Speaker 5: played hockey, they didn't start freshman year until they were 24.
- 1:15:09Speaker 4: You know what's not hard to go to college for? Lacrosse.
- 1:15:12Speaker 5: Yeah, it's probably harder now, though. Probably.
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: Especially in the Northeast.
- 1:15:17Speaker 4: That was, I saw, a loophole.
- 1:15:20Speaker 5: At Syracuse, they had the banners. They're so good. They
- 1:15:23Speaker 5: won every year in the early 2000s. For 10 years,
- 1:15:26Speaker 5: they won five national championships.
- 1:15:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:15:29Speaker 5: But then it's like, I guess other teams just got good.
- 1:15:31Speaker 4: We scrimmaged them every year preseason.
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: Really?
- 1:15:33Speaker 4: We played them in the Carrier Dome.
- 1:15:34Speaker 5: They were good?
- 1:15:36Speaker 4: Well, yeah. I mean, they were kind of the best.
- 1:15:38Speaker 4: They were the top team.
- 1:15:40Speaker 5: Any notable names?
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: They had some brothers that went there. Jim Brown? Jim
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: Brown played there.
- 1:15:46Speaker 5: Not lacrosse.
- 1:15:47Speaker 4: Yes. Yeah. Oh, wait.
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: No, he did play.
- 1:15:49Speaker 4: Yeah. He's like arguably the best lacrosse player ever.
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: That's my bad.
- 1:15:51Speaker 5: That's my bad. We'll cut that.
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: Imagine if Barry Sanders could play lacrosse. Imagine if Jameer
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: Gibbs was playing lacrosse.
- 1:15:57Speaker 5: Oh, you'd be insane.
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: How sick he would be.
- 1:15:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:16:00Speaker 5: They did have the Jim Brown banner up. That was
- 1:16:01Speaker 5: pretty cool.
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: Look at those quads. And he probably wasn't even training quads.
- 1:16:06Speaker 4: Hell no.
- 1:16:06Speaker 5: There's no chance he was on the rack. He probably
- 1:16:08Speaker 5: didn't even work out. He probably just looked like that.
- 1:16:10Speaker 4: Probably ran the stadium in cleats.
- 1:16:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:16:13Speaker 4: Cement steps.
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: He was getting breakfast sandwiches, and he was fine.
- 1:16:17Speaker 4: Oh, my.
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: What beautiful quads. Didn't they have another really famous African-American
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: brother that played there? Yeah.
- 1:16:27Speaker 4: Yeah, they did. And I can't remember his name.
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: Black Syracuse lacrosse hat.
- 1:16:37Speaker 4: Yeah, they had some really good players. They always had amazing...
- 1:16:41Speaker 4: Fred Obey? Oh, Jovan Miller was during my time. Yeah,
- 1:16:45Speaker 4: he was really good.
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: Jovan Miller.
- 1:16:46Speaker 4: Dude, they always had First Peoples kids. Oh. Because they
- 1:16:54Speaker 4: would recruit from the Onondaga Reservation. What? What? And that
- 1:17:00Speaker 4: was right there. That was, like, right next to Syracuse
- 1:17:04Speaker 4: was the Onondaga Reservation. And those kids were all really
- 1:17:08Speaker 4: good at lacrosse. They played box lacrosse. Oh, yeah.
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: That shit's in their blood the same way that, like,
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: a German short-haired pointer.
- 1:17:15Speaker 5: Can hunt a quail.
- 1:17:16Speaker 4: Correct.
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: Like, they're three years old, three months old. Fuck with this.
- 1:17:20Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah. And they would often... What I was told
- 1:17:27Speaker 4: was that, you know, the schools that they went to
- 1:17:30Speaker 4: were not great. And so sometimes they would have to
- 1:17:33Speaker 4: go to a community college for like a year or
- 1:17:37Speaker 4: two in order to earn eligibility to then go to Syracuse,
- 1:17:40Speaker 4: which meant by the time that they got there, they
- 1:17:43Speaker 4: were like 21 year old freshmen. Damn. Who were. I
- 1:17:47Speaker 4: go by the name Johnny Gangles.
- 1:17:49Speaker 5: And were like.
- 1:17:52Speaker 4: Fighting for the pride of their people. Yeah. Wow. And
- 1:17:54Speaker 4: they were amazing.
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: It must have meant more.
- 1:17:57Speaker 4: It did. And apparently the kids who like were not
- 1:18:00Speaker 4: smart enough for Syracuse ended up in Albany, which is
- 1:18:03Speaker 4: how Albany was also very, very good.
- 1:18:06Speaker 5: That is interesting.
- 1:18:07Speaker 4: They had the Thompson twins. Lyle was like the best
- 1:18:10Speaker 4: player ever.
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: Of course. And I bet they're a little bit more unruly.
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: You know, they can't get into the best school, but
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: they're probably party children.
- 1:18:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: Not great grades, but they could just fucking... Whoop it up.
- 1:18:22Speaker 5: Is New York the biggest lacrosse state?
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: Pennsylvania's pretty big. Maryland is huge.
- 1:18:29Speaker 4: Maryland's big hotbed. I don't know. Yeah, Long Island obviously
- 1:18:34Speaker 4: is a hotbed. I think now the sport has spread,
- 1:18:37Speaker 4: but I don't really follow it, so I don't know.
- 1:18:39Speaker 5: Yeah, it's everywhere now.
- 1:18:41Speaker 4: I don't know. I think California's gotten pretty good at it. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: Which would make sense. They have the flow for it.
- 1:18:47Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: If those bros out there have some nice flow. and
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: there's fucking 50 million people they better be good at
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: it those bastards we gotta get out to a lax game.
- 1:18:58Speaker 5: We gotta no we don't no we really don't.
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: The st joe's prep lacrosse game we have.
- 1:19:03Speaker 5: To definitely i bet they're good they were.
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: Solid But the public schools in the Pennsylvania area were
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: pretty sick too.
- 1:19:10Speaker 4: Really?
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: Like Radnor and shit.
- 1:19:12Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. Radnor, for sure. Dude, there was a men's
- 1:19:16Speaker 4: travel or a guy's travel team from that area called
- 1:19:18Speaker 4: the Dukes that were like the best. We played them
- 1:19:22Speaker 4: one year at champ camp, main select versus the Dukes.
- 1:19:25Speaker 4: I think we lost 14 to 2. They were up
- 1:19:28Speaker 4: 10-0 before we got the ball. Dang. It was embarrassing.
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: That's so demoralizing.
- 1:19:33Speaker 5: I used to go watch the lacrosse, like our team
- 1:19:36Speaker 5: play against the teams in Long Island and they would
- 1:19:39Speaker 5: get fucking annihilated.
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:19:42Speaker 5: And they were like the best team in Massachusetts.
- 1:19:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: We played against the Haverford School in soccer when we
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: were in like fifth grade or something like that. And
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: they were beating us, I think, 6-0 or 7-0 at halftime.
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: And their coach made a rule that you could only
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: shoot with your left foot.
- 1:19:58Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 1:19:59Speaker 5: Just like crooked arrows.
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: To dick with us.
- 1:20:01Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: And then somebody scored with their right foot. He took
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: them out of the game.
- 1:20:05Speaker 4: Wow.
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: They were nice, though. At Haverford School. All right. Let's
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: end the episode and let's do another one for Thursday.
- 1:20:13Speaker 4: Love that.
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: You're shiving me saying that.
- 1:20:14Speaker 5: Doesn't matter.
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: Yeah, right.
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:20:16Speaker 5: Thank you guys for listening. We will be back on Thursday. Goodbye.
