- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to a DM podcast.
- 0:03Speaker 2: We'll try to keep it as nice as we can,
- 0:05Speaker 2: but you might hear the occasional swear word in No
- 0:07Speaker 2: Dribble Don't tell Mom Hello, and welcome back to No Dribble,
- 0:22Speaker 2: the podcast where we talk about netball and we talk
- 0:24Speaker 2: about a lot of other fabulous things. This week, we
- 0:27Speaker 2: have improved our coordination a little bit better. We have
- 0:30Speaker 2: two people in the studio. We actually have Liz Ellis
- 0:33Speaker 2: in studio for the first time, sitting side by side
- 0:36Speaker 2: with her bestie Kath Cox. I've had to be sent
- 0:38Speaker 2: to the other side of the country because we can't
- 0:41Speaker 2: be trusted to be in the same room together. But
- 0:43Speaker 2: I'm Carolyn Swindell and welcome to episode ten of this
- 0:47Speaker 2: fabulous chat in this fabulous community that we're starting up.
- 0:50Speaker 3: So hi, Hi, I.
- 0:51Speaker 4: Think my head would explode if we were actually in
- 0:53Speaker 4: the same room together, all three of us.
- 0:55Speaker 5: That'd be good.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Well, I think that there are a couple of old
- 0:59Speaker 1: or Xustralian their more team managers whose heads are explaining
- 1:02Speaker 1: right now because we're never allowed to room together until
- 1:06Speaker 1: the end of tour, so this doesn't feel like the
- 1:08Speaker 1: end of tour.
- 1:09Speaker 3: And here we are rooming together. We're well.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Our fabulous producer Mandy has actually alerted the police. You
- 1:16Speaker 2: know they do that, They have that notify when you're
- 1:19Speaker 2: having a big party, just let us know what's going
- 1:21Speaker 2: on so we can be prepared. So we did do
- 1:23Speaker 2: that paperwork yesterday.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Yeah, well, now that's a letting the police. Years ago
- 1:26Speaker 1: it was lock up your.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Sons, but.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Locked up your divorced dads.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Oh dear, well, let's bring this chat back to actually
- 1:41Speaker 1: a little bit more PG content. I've been spent the
- 1:44Speaker 1: whole weekend out at state championships in your South Wales
- 1:47Speaker 1: Junior State Championships at Boukham Hills in Sydney, and it's
- 1:53Speaker 1: been so wholesome, you know, Like you know, sometimes you
- 1:55Speaker 1: get so caught up in what's wrong and what's going.
- 1:57Speaker 3: On and all the things that are happening in our sports.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Particularly sitting in the role of chair you sort of
- 2:02Speaker 1: have a big look at things.
- 2:04Speaker 3: But then to get out and be on.
- 2:05Speaker 1: The sidelines at a massive community sports event. So you know,
- 2:10Speaker 1: hats off to the netballne New South Wales staff. They've
- 2:12Speaker 1: organized two huge events. So junior state champs now are
- 2:17Speaker 1: so big that it's got to be split over two venues.
- 2:20Speaker 1: So Championship which is Division one and Division two are
- 2:23Speaker 1: out at Penrith and Division three and four which is
- 2:27Speaker 1: mainly country teams, which is what.
- 2:30Speaker 3: My daughter's playing in at Bukham Hills.
- 2:31Speaker 5: How many teams are we talking about so well?
- 2:34Speaker 3: In our division?
- 2:35Speaker 1: In Division three under thirteen and it's under twelves, thirteens
- 2:38Speaker 1: and fourteen. So just in Division three there must be
- 2:42Speaker 1: twenty five teams. Wow, that's just Division three. And I
- 2:46Speaker 1: think I'm reasonably well traveled. You know, I've got out
- 2:48Speaker 1: and had to look around in my caravan and there's
- 2:50Speaker 1: been little associations that have wandered past us.
- 2:53Speaker 3: I like, where are you guys from? There was one
- 2:54Speaker 3: called Googlemon and I said where are you from?
- 2:56Speaker 1: They said, oh, we're just forty k's out of Woga
- 2:58Speaker 1: and we just started off and this is our state chaps, and.
- 3:03Speaker 5: I think they were going over good on them.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:05Speaker 1: So you know, back when I was a kid, there
- 3:07Speaker 1: was like there was championship and Div two and that
- 3:10Speaker 1: was it. And now there's like four divisions. Every age
- 3:15Speaker 1: group has well, they must have one hundred teams just
- 3:18Speaker 1: about it. Everywhere else it's phenomenal. So there's two and
- 3:21Speaker 1: a half thousand kids at each venue. That's just kids, right,
- 3:25Speaker 1: that's not parents, car parking all that head of stuff.
- 3:30Speaker 1: So yeah, all the tents, it's amazing. It's a massive
- 3:33Speaker 1: logistical thing. But everyone's out there having such a good time.
- 3:38Speaker 4: Last time we spoke to you, you'd come from a
- 3:39Speaker 4: carnival and the kids had a massive downer after the
- 3:42Speaker 4: lolly salad.
- 3:43Speaker 5: Yes, has that happened, But.
- 3:44Speaker 1: The lolly salads are being managed appropriately. But this is
- 3:48Speaker 1: it's a huge it's a three day weekends. They played
- 3:51Speaker 1: all day Saturday, eight game Saturday, seven game Sunday and
- 3:55Speaker 1: yesterday as I was walking out, there were little.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Pockets of tears.
- 3:58Speaker 1: You could just see kids being so who exhausted from
- 4:01Speaker 1: such a big thing.
- 4:02Speaker 3: And it's also mentally exhausting.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Right, So these kids turn up so from Ballana we've
- 4:06Speaker 1: got six hard courts. They turn up to Boukham Hills
- 4:09Speaker 1: and there's thirty six hard courts.
- 4:11Speaker 3: It's as far as.
- 4:12Speaker 1: So just that mental load is huge, and then you
- 4:14Speaker 1: add the physical load on top of that. But one
- 4:16Speaker 1: of the things that's been the highlight is the dress
- 4:18Speaker 1: up dads. Right, so Ballana we are the home of
- 4:22Speaker 1: the Big Prawn. So one of the dads is they're
- 4:24Speaker 1: watching his prawn suit.
- 4:28Speaker 2: I saw that on someone's social media.
- 4:30Speaker 5: Is one of my exes? Well nice body, but yeah prawn.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Yeah, anyway, that actually could beat in number of your exes.
- 4:41Speaker 3: But anyhow, we're not talking about your love life, Catherine.
- 4:44Speaker 1: We're talking about wholesome things like Saty Championship. There's also
- 4:47Speaker 1: another dad again to Balona Dad. So I see these
- 4:49Speaker 1: guys often who's dressed up as Superman. But he's got
- 4:52Speaker 1: this cape and on the back of his cape, he's
- 4:53Speaker 1: got like all these positive affirmations, one hundred percent plays,
- 4:57Speaker 1: a team enthusiasm, and he just he's got the blue
- 5:00Speaker 1: wig and the suit and.
- 5:02Speaker 3: The cave and he's sold.
- 5:04Speaker 1: So it's so much fun to see just the spectators
- 5:07Speaker 1: getting into it.
- 5:08Speaker 4: At what point as a child, is that your worst
- 5:12Speaker 4: nightmare when your dad comes out in the morning dressed
- 5:14Speaker 4: up like that and he's going to wear that all weekend.
- 5:16Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 5:16Speaker 1: We've got dad's in our team who've got around all
- 5:18Speaker 1: weekend in bluetootoo's and there's but there's also these little
- 5:21Speaker 1: girls that their sisters must play in the Casino team,
- 5:24Speaker 1: and Casino is the beef capital of New South Wales,
- 5:28Speaker 1: and there's these three little girls in little cow costumes
- 5:31Speaker 1: with cowbells.
- 5:31Speaker 3: They're so cute.
- 5:33Speaker 1: So it's so wholesome and it's so much fun. And
- 5:36Speaker 1: we've got another day to go today, so we'll be
- 5:39Speaker 1: out there. But I do feel like it's a big
- 5:41Speaker 1: weekend for the parents. As you know, you end up
- 5:44Speaker 1: feeling really wind burned and sunburned and you've got no
- 5:47Speaker 1: voice from cheering. And then we went to the Swift's
- 5:50Speaker 1: Thunderbirds game and all the parents went as well.
- 5:52Speaker 3: So it's full on.
- 5:53Speaker 1: I just don't think the parents have sort of tapered
- 5:55Speaker 1: well enough to get through this weekend.
- 5:57Speaker 3: So we're all going to fall the.
- 5:58Speaker 4: Out, probably as a will theer co you're talking about
- 6:00Speaker 4: the players all in pockets of tears. I reckon the
- 6:02Speaker 4: coaches in the back of their tents with a bottle
- 6:04Speaker 4: and a straw. Meanwhile, just on you at the Swifts game.
- 6:07Speaker 4: How good is our audience, our dribblers. They're now doing
- 6:10Speaker 4: spoto photos of you in the crowd.
- 6:15Speaker 2: They're keeping an eye on us, they know where we are.
- 6:17Speaker 3: They're reporting how many glasses of rose. Did I drink it?
- 6:22Speaker 2: You looked at you. We're a little bit slumped in
- 6:23Speaker 2: your see to looking a little bit. You might have
- 6:25Speaker 2: been having a snooze, a post junior state championship snooze.
- 6:29Speaker 2: That's okay, it's just a power app.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Yeah, because it's so easy to snooze with eight and
- 6:32Speaker 1: a half thousand screaming Swifts.
- 6:34Speaker 3: It was actually great.
- 6:35Speaker 1: And what I loved about this weekend and Kath you
- 6:38Speaker 1: were at the at the Firebirds home match against Lightning
- 6:41Speaker 1: and it was a Swifts home match against Thunderbirds.
- 6:44Speaker 3: I love the First Nations round and clearly.
- 6:47Speaker 1: The sport is still got a bit to do around
- 6:50Speaker 1: making sure that we have enough First Nations players coming through.
- 6:52Speaker 1: But I got to say the First Nations round was great.
- 6:55Speaker 1: And what I loved about the Sydney game was they
- 6:57Speaker 1: had a guy who was on the ditch and every
- 6:59Speaker 1: time super Shot was scored, they went to him and
- 7:02Speaker 1: they'd amplified his digery do and he just played it.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Like a little like a little throughout the game. Yeah,
- 7:07Speaker 3: throughout the game. Yeah, So that should be a permanent thing.
- 7:11Speaker 3: It was.
- 7:12Speaker 2: That'd be awesome.
- 7:12Speaker 4: Yeah. The one in Queensland was amazing. Mitch Tambo, who
- 7:16Speaker 4: was one of the voice contestants, was on there and
- 7:19Speaker 4: he sang my Island Home at the start ps should.
- 7:24Speaker 5: Be our anthem.
- 7:25Speaker 4: Oh God, that song. As soon as it starts, my
- 7:28Speaker 4: whole body got chills. Danelle Wallen was standing there with
- 7:31Speaker 4: the full the body paint on her face, which culturally
- 7:34Speaker 4: I checked it is called body paint and she was
- 7:38Speaker 4: in tears when all of the Welcome to Country was
- 7:41Speaker 4: going on. It was so special and you could have
- 7:43Speaker 4: heard a pin drop in the crowd. It was amazing,
- 7:45Speaker 4: but literally, like everybody just got chills as soon as
- 7:48Speaker 4: it started.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Yeah, and look I know where a week from cool? Yeah,
- 7:51Speaker 1: But Denel Wallam, what a massive week for her.
- 7:54Speaker 2: She carries very hard week for her part.
- 7:57Speaker 3: She carries such.
- 7:57Speaker 1: A huge cultural load for our sports, from all the
- 8:00Speaker 1: dribblers to Danell. I don't know if she listens to
- 8:03Speaker 1: the No Dribble podcast, but we love you, Dannelle. You
- 8:05Speaker 1: are just amazing so.
- 8:07Speaker 2: And we're with you.
- 8:08Speaker 4: And sadly she didn't have a great game and understandably,
- 8:11Speaker 4: like if she's dealing with that throughout the week, and
- 8:13Speaker 4: then the emotion of First Nations around, you could see
- 8:16Speaker 4: it on her face visibly in the pregame.
- 8:18Speaker 5: That's tough. I mean, she's, as you say, she's carrying
- 8:20Speaker 5: a heavy light, isn't.
- 8:21Speaker 2: You If you don't know what happened, Just a very
- 8:23Speaker 2: quick recap and we're not going to give it a
- 8:24Speaker 2: whole lot of airtime. But Dannell was the victim of
- 8:28Speaker 2: a completely unprovoked attack on I think give a social media.
- 8:31Speaker 2: I think it was actually an old school letter and
- 8:34Speaker 2: it was Dannell had the absolute grace to block out
- 8:38Speaker 2: this woman's surname when she shared this, and I'm glad
- 8:40Speaker 2: she shared it because it's important that we all know
- 8:42Speaker 2: what's going on. But seems that there are a whole
- 8:44Speaker 2: lot of beefs in this letter. But it seems to
- 8:48Speaker 2: me the biggest issue that this woman has is that
- 8:50Speaker 2: Dannell is an Indigenous is an Indigenous woman, and it's
- 8:54Speaker 2: just it's hurtful, it's negative, it's just, you know, we
- 8:58Speaker 2: really need to be better than this.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Yeah, And it was what I took heart from was
- 9:04Speaker 1: that when Danelle posted on socials, just a support for
- 9:08Speaker 1: her was extraordinary. So yeah, yeah, she's just an amazing,
- 9:12Speaker 1: amazing young woman.
- 9:16Speaker 2: So Liz, you were at the Swift Sunderbirds game on
- 9:18Speaker 2: the weekend. Someone else who was there in my seats
- 9:21Speaker 2: is Kayla Kelly, who won in our little Instagram comp
- 9:24Speaker 2: that we ran over the weekend. I don't want to
- 9:26Speaker 2: show off, but she got to use those seats because
- 9:29Speaker 2: I've been swimming with whale sharks and manda rays and
- 9:31Speaker 2: hammerheads and turtles and humpback whales. I didn't swim with
- 9:34Speaker 2: the humpback whales. I looked at them from the boat.
- 9:36Speaker 2: But yeah, I wouldn't say that though, because that would
- 9:39Speaker 2: be showing off, right it was.
- 9:41Speaker 4: Now, you told me that the whale sharks don at
- 9:44Speaker 4: you because they just suck on cree or whatever. Did
- 9:46Speaker 4: you say, hammerhead though they at you?
- 9:49Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, they are designed like that to get the
- 9:53Speaker 2: rays who were hiding down in the sand. I know
- 9:56Speaker 2: so much about the ocean now. I have been listening
- 9:58Speaker 2: to people tell here's something great. I learned. Dolphins. Yes,
- 10:01Speaker 2: so when I was at Monkey Mint, dolphins will taunt
- 10:04Speaker 2: puffer fish until the puffer fish release their poison into
- 10:08Speaker 2: the water because it's a narcotic for the dolphins. So
- 10:11Speaker 2: the dolphins will swim around high for about three days.
- 10:15Speaker 2: So perhaps that's why when you go to monkey Miye,
- 10:17Speaker 2: they'll swim up to the beach and just go, hey, sister,
- 10:20Speaker 2: nice to meet you.
- 10:21Speaker 5: They're looking for munchies.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Yeah, got.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Look the raw fish is nice, but you've got any twisties?
- 10:32Speaker 4: Do you know?
- 10:33Speaker 1: Dogs do that too, So some dogs have worked out
- 10:35Speaker 1: that the cane toad poison in small doses is a narcotic,
- 10:38Speaker 1: and they'll go and they'll lick the back of the
- 10:40Speaker 1: cane toads and then just be stoned.
- 10:42Speaker 3: So they lick at too much, they die.
- 10:45Speaker 5: Oh that's a dicey game.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Well they're a dog and I don't know, they're good
- 10:48Speaker 1: at sort of rationalization, and they'll like get stoned.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Wow, I wouldn't recommend that, Arnie.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Liz is telling you don't lick cane toads.
- 10:58Speaker 5: It's not cool.
- 10:59Speaker 4: Yeah, puffer fish, Yeah, notice that very irrational puffer fish.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Don't say you don't learn anything on this show.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Yes, but we're slowly making our way back home now,
- 11:11Speaker 2: so I will be back in studio with you next week, Catherine.
- 11:14Speaker 5: Which I'm excited about.
- 11:15Speaker 4: Did you feel unsafe at all in the water with
- 11:18Speaker 4: those big creatures.
- 11:19Speaker 2: I didn't feel unsafe they do an amazing job. They
- 11:22Speaker 2: put you in the water. These things just just swim
- 11:24Speaker 2: slowly near the surface of the ocean. They don't care.
- 11:28Speaker 2: And you know, there's very clear instructions that no one
- 11:30Speaker 2: swims ahead of the pectoral fin because then you're kind
- 11:34Speaker 2: of in its peripheral vision. But they couldn't care less.
- 11:37Speaker 2: They're the biggest fish in the ocean. It's like, what
- 11:39Speaker 2: are these idiots doing? Why are you swimming with me?
- 11:42Speaker 5: And they've been playing with pufferfish so they don't care.
- 11:44Speaker 2: No, Liz, I did have a question for you when
- 11:47Speaker 2: you did your big Round the Round Australia caravan trip
- 11:51Speaker 2: that's a holiday for a year, right, did you have rules?
- 11:54Speaker 2: Did you, in Matthew, have rules where it's like, okay,
- 11:57Speaker 2: we can't have a wine every single night for a year,
- 12:00Speaker 2: Like did you impose any type of weak restrictions on
- 12:04Speaker 2: yourself like that? No, okay, so much so.
- 12:10Speaker 4: I think you actually when you stopped at a major city,
- 12:13Speaker 4: bored enough to ration every day that you're away.
- 12:15Speaker 5: Didn't you we're going to be between bottle shops.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Well, actually we discovered this great and this is not
- 12:20Speaker 1: an ad because I have nothing to do with this company.
- 12:22Speaker 1: But we discovered this great company called Greenskin Wines. And
- 12:26Speaker 1: because when you're in a caravan, you have to worry
- 12:28Speaker 1: about your weight, so if you have too many bottles
- 12:30Speaker 1: of wine, it affects your weight. So we found this
- 12:33Speaker 1: company called Greenskin Wines, which has like a little they
- 12:37Speaker 1: have their wine in little casks, and so we just
- 12:40Speaker 1: had a few little boxes of that and that was
- 12:42Speaker 1: our wines.
- 12:43Speaker 5: And some pillows. Afterwards.
- 12:45Speaker 1: We didn't ever have like a really big night, like
- 12:48Speaker 1: it's just you and your little family, so we might
- 12:50Speaker 1: stop and have a sundowner and then that was it,
- 12:52Speaker 1: Like you just have dinner and head off to bed.
- 12:55Speaker 1: So no, we didn't like it was just it was
- 12:57Speaker 1: just a different type of thing. But no, we had
- 12:59Speaker 1: no restrict What about you are you trying to like
- 13:03Speaker 1: you're only on holidays for twenty minutes.
- 13:04Speaker 2: I'm ten days into the holiday and ordinarily I wouldn't
- 13:07Speaker 2: drink every night. And again I'm not drinking a lot,
- 13:09Speaker 2: but it's just that I've had to drink every night.
- 13:11Speaker 2: And it's like, well, I wonder how long that's just
- 13:13Speaker 2: started with my husband. Oh my god, he's now started
- 13:16Speaker 2: talking about when the kids leave school. Which fortunately is,
- 13:19Speaker 2: you know, a million years from now. That apparently he
- 13:22Speaker 2: wants me to go caravanning with him. And I'm not,
- 13:26Speaker 2: I'm not entirely applies to the idea, but it has.
- 13:29Speaker 5: To be really like it.
- 13:31Speaker 2: It has to be really like a Pot's Point apartment,
- 13:35Speaker 2: and for me to be interested.
- 13:38Speaker 3: That's what our caravans like. We've got a lot.
- 13:41Speaker 1: We've got a washing machine and a toilet and shower
- 13:44Speaker 1: that are separate, and we've got to pull out kitchen
- 13:47Speaker 1: on the outside and then our kitchen on the inside.
- 13:49Speaker 3: We've got an air conditioner, we've got a heater.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it is bigger than some Pots Point apartments,
- 13:54Speaker 1: actually bigger than my apartment.
- 13:55Speaker 2: But you have to go somewhere and deal with that toilet,
- 13:59Speaker 2: don't you.
- 14:00Speaker 3: I've got a composting toilet.
- 14:01Speaker 1: You have to empty the Wii bottle, and it's my
- 14:03Speaker 1: job to empty the Wii bottle. And you know what,
- 14:05Speaker 1: you just suck it up.
- 14:05Speaker 3: And you do it.
- 14:06Speaker 1: And when I go to the you suck it up. No,
- 14:09Speaker 1: I don't suck out literally, but when you go to
- 14:12Speaker 1: the dumb point, like I don't make eye contact with
- 14:14Speaker 1: anyone and just go to the dumb point, look down,
- 14:16Speaker 1: do it, wash go.
- 14:18Speaker 3: It's not pleasant, but you just do it.
- 14:21Speaker 2: We've been listening to an audio book that is set
- 14:24Speaker 2: here red River Road. It's a great little mystery thing.
- 14:26Speaker 2: But I've read another book that is called Sidelines, by
- 14:29Speaker 2: a Canberra author named Karen Biggers, and it's about parents
- 14:33Speaker 2: and sport and kids sport and it's a really really
- 14:37Speaker 2: interesting one.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Kat.
- 14:38Speaker 2: What you were talking about then about kids getting embarrassed
- 14:40Speaker 2: by their dads stressing up, this is much more about
- 14:43Speaker 2: the toxic side of parents on the sideline and it's
- 14:47Speaker 2: a really interesting reflection. You know, it's not something I
- 14:50Speaker 2: see a lot of in our sport. This and Sidelines
- 14:54Speaker 2: is more about what I still call soccer and will
- 14:57Speaker 2: call soccer until I die, but a at is now
- 15:00Speaker 2: called football. Yeah, that whole issue of the toxic parents
- 15:04Speaker 2: on the sideline, particularly for kids around about the age
- 15:06Speaker 2: of your daughter sort of thirteen, fourteen, fifteen.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Is it.
- 15:10Speaker 4: Did you see that at the carnival, because it's a
- 15:12Speaker 4: bigger event. Was there any signs of that sort of stuff,
- 15:15Speaker 4: because surely it's there.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Like people are generally pretty pretty good. I don't know
- 15:19Speaker 1: whether it's a factor of it's a three day weekend,
- 15:21Speaker 1: so it's a long time to be toxic if you're
- 15:23Speaker 1: going to be toxic. And I'm sure it exists, but well,
- 15:26Speaker 1: I know it exists, but yeah, I've got to say
- 15:29Speaker 1: I haven't seen any outward sort of signs of it
- 15:31Speaker 1: this weekend. But then we're in our little bubble with
- 15:33Speaker 1: our little team, and yeah, I don't know, but it's
- 15:37Speaker 1: one of those things. There's plenty of research to support
- 15:40Speaker 1: the fact that one of the primary reasons why kids
- 15:43Speaker 1: drop out of sport when they're younger is because they're
- 15:45Speaker 1: embarrassed about their parents on the sidelines.
- 15:47Speaker 4: Oh wow, Okay, so kid's not wearing a two too,
- 15:51Speaker 4: then just Matthew's not wearing a two too.
- 15:52Speaker 3: You know what, a six foot four bloke with a
- 15:54Speaker 3: head like he's wearing a twoo.
- 15:55Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that I would like to see that with
- 15:57Speaker 4: his with his no dribble sock protectors. There is a
- 16:04Speaker 4: way we can keep the sport nice, though, and Barbara
- 16:07Speaker 4: Jarvis has put up some old school netball rules on Facebook. Meanwhile,
- 16:11Speaker 4: facebook book group is over two thousand members. It's going
- 16:14Speaker 4: up one hundred a day.
- 16:15Speaker 5: We'll get on board.
- 16:16Speaker 2: Barb's one of the early early adopters, though she was
- 16:19Speaker 2: there when we were in the in the tens, I
- 16:22Speaker 2: reckon not even one hundred members. Barb was one of
- 16:24Speaker 2: our earliest triples.
- 16:25Speaker 4: Well, she needs this shout out then, But these rules
- 16:28Speaker 4: are absolutely brilliant, and I'll tell you what I'd consider
- 16:31Speaker 4: coming out of retirement and going back to play if
- 16:33Speaker 4: we could get some of them back up.
- 16:34Speaker 5: Here's number one. This is my favorite one.
- 16:37Speaker 4: When a goal is scored, there will be no hysterical shouting,
- 16:41Speaker 4: but the opposing captain will curtsey to the scorer, mate,
- 16:45Speaker 4: I am coming.
- 16:46Speaker 5: Out of retirement. If we can get that one back
- 16:48Speaker 5: up and running.
- 16:49Speaker 4: Can you imagine being the opposing captain of Janill Fowl
- 16:51Speaker 4: and their marm's playing.
- 16:52Speaker 3: Oh my god, you'd be exhausted, just be on rotation, Sorry,
- 16:55Speaker 3: can't play.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Page would have had to curtsey seventy five times in
- 16:58Speaker 2: that game.
- 16:59Speaker 4: She'd need to be playing defense because, let's be honest, she's
- 17:01Speaker 4: not doing anything else.
- 17:02Speaker 2: The one I like that I think Kat you might
- 17:04Speaker 2: have been alright with, but Liz would have been a
- 17:07Speaker 2: problem for you. Ladies Pushing, running or scrambling will be
- 17:11Speaker 2: sent off the field. In disgrace. So obviously Princess Grace
- 17:15Speaker 2: of the goal shooter here never scrambled, But Liz, there
- 17:18Speaker 2: was a lot of scrambling. There was a lot of running,
- 17:21Speaker 2: possibly even a little bit of pushing, but only within the.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Boundary, possibly more pushing than anything else. Yeah, I wouldn't
- 17:26Speaker 1: have lasted. I saw these rules and I was like, Oh, that's.
- 17:29Speaker 4: The fact that these even existed at any point in time.
- 17:32Speaker 4: House this one number three. This is another reason I'd
- 17:34Speaker 4: come out of retirement the next day. The young lady
- 17:36Speaker 4: should be given a day's holiday to recover from the.
- 17:39Speaker 5: Exertion I should put out.
- 17:43Speaker 3: But I think these.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Rules were put up years ago as a bit of
- 17:47Speaker 1: a piss take, and then they've sort of developed their
- 17:50Speaker 1: own life, And I'd like to think now that they
- 17:51Speaker 1: were one hundred percent rules of the game.
- 17:53Speaker 3: Even if they weren't, what.
- 17:54Speaker 4: Era would we be talking about if they were accurate,
- 17:57Speaker 4: We got way look at least the time place to
- 18:00Speaker 4: the nineteen nineteen. Ye, the first thing you've got to
- 18:03Speaker 4: do when you walk on court is to inquire about
- 18:05Speaker 4: your opponent's health.
- 18:06Speaker 3: Oh, I used to do that. Really, Hey, you going?
- 18:09Speaker 5: How you how you feeling?
- 18:10Speaker 3: Yeah? Feeling good.
- 18:11Speaker 5: How are you, Irene feeling good? Because I'm going to
- 18:13Speaker 5: get you in the guts?
- 18:14Speaker 2: And Ann, did you not cap? Did you just go
- 18:16Speaker 2: out there and in game mode, do not talk, no
- 18:19Speaker 2: social interaction. You are the enemy while we're on court.
- 18:21Speaker 5: But I wouldn't.
- 18:22Speaker 4: I mean yes, I would talk all the time. That
- 18:23Speaker 4: was more about distracting them than inquiring about their health.
- 18:26Speaker 4: And generally.
- 18:29Speaker 3: They're welfare about how they're going.
- 18:30Speaker 2: If only you've known about the dolphins and the puffet fish,
- 18:33Speaker 2: then you could have had some really interesting stuff.
- 18:34Speaker 4: I would have just really come out with a crazy
- 18:37Speaker 4: start before the game.
- 18:38Speaker 2: But these rules are even if they were made up subsequently,
- 18:41Speaker 2: they're quite consistent with the sorts of things that you'd
- 18:43Speaker 2: see in Ladies Housekeeping and the like years ago about
- 18:46Speaker 2: you know, keep yourself nice, put it, put a put
- 18:48Speaker 2: a bow in your hair before your husband gets home
- 18:50Speaker 2: from work, and the like. So it's not it would not.
- 18:53Speaker 2: It's not beyond the stretch of the imagination for these
- 18:55Speaker 2: to have been actual rules.
- 18:56Speaker 1: And man, I often ask my husband to have a
- 19:00Speaker 1: bit of lippy on when I get home from work nice.
- 19:04Speaker 3: I'm not winning that fight either.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Taking the two two off and hung it in the cover.
- 19:10Speaker 2: One thing we need to have more rules on is
- 19:12Speaker 2: the tightness of the nets.
- 19:14Speaker 5: I thought you were going to say the dresses, but yes,
- 19:16Speaker 5: you're right, the nets. How annoying.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Yeah, So at that Fever Giants game that I saw
- 19:22Speaker 2: at rac Arena, there was a bit of chat going
- 19:24Speaker 2: on in amongst the dribblers about how annoying it is
- 19:28Speaker 2: that the keeper has to shake the ball through out
- 19:31Speaker 2: of the net every time. Grant Hicks, God love him,
- 19:34Speaker 2: a dribbler has done the stats on this. I just
- 19:37Speaker 2: I love this, Grant. This is such good use of
- 19:39Speaker 2: time and this is why we are taught maths as
- 19:42Speaker 2: kids to work out how much game time is lost
- 19:45Speaker 2: in every single in every game as a result of
- 19:48Speaker 2: the nets being too tight. So Grant said, tight nets
- 19:52Speaker 2: are the Fever v. Giants game I've done the stats.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Total of one hundred and thirty two goals scored during
- 19:56Speaker 2: the game, average of two seconds to release the ball
- 19:58Speaker 2: from the net and past a center works out to
- 20:00Speaker 2: be four minutes and twenty seconds of play. New nets
- 20:03Speaker 2: look great, but please stretch them first. Wow, four minutes
- 20:07Speaker 2: and twenty seconds.
- 20:08Speaker 5: That's another reason to come out of retirement.
- 20:11Speaker 4: You so many times we encountered this when we were overseas,
- 20:14Speaker 4: and I remember in Jamaica, it might have been South Africa. Actually,
- 20:17Speaker 4: the nets were too tight and they tried to stretch them.
- 20:20Speaker 4: They had timeouts to do all that, and for whatever reason,
- 20:23Speaker 4: it didn't work. And they got so over people shaking
- 20:25Speaker 4: the post because that's obviously not great for the stability
- 20:28Speaker 4: of the post. So they ended up having a kid
- 20:30Speaker 4: sitting on the baseline with a stick, I remember, and
- 20:34Speaker 4: after every goal that kid's job was to whack the
- 20:37Speaker 4: ball in the net to get it to come through
- 20:39Speaker 4: with a stick.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Did that make you feel unsafe?
- 20:45Speaker 1: And if you're stupid enough to stand under the post,
- 20:47Speaker 1: it's to be a safe space.
- 20:51Speaker 2: We should talk about this rounds games.
- 20:54Speaker 5: The ladder is so interesting.
- 20:56Speaker 4: Now I'm trying to pick because obviously I'll be doing
- 20:59Speaker 4: the final, so the three weeks of the finals and
- 21:01Speaker 4: I'm trying to get a rough idea of where i
- 21:03Speaker 4: might be.
- 21:04Speaker 3: Only say, you can book a restaurant for dinner were
- 21:06Speaker 3: totally and who I'm.
- 21:08Speaker 4: Going to catch up with when I'm away It's impossible
- 21:10Speaker 4: to do so. The Thunderbirds of Vixen's and the Fever
- 21:12Speaker 4: now after yesterday's results are all on forty points, so wow.
- 21:17Speaker 4: And next week they're all playing teams they should be,
- 21:20Speaker 4: so technically they'll probably all end up on forty four points.
- 21:24Speaker 4: So then it comes down to the smallest of percentages
- 21:27Speaker 4: who comes in first, second, and third, And then not
- 21:29Speaker 4: only is there a fight for that, because that's the
- 21:31Speaker 4: major semi final and that will mean a home semi
- 21:34Speaker 4: final to one of those teams. The Sunshine Coast and
- 21:37Speaker 4: the Mavericks now are on equal points twenty four points.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Both of them play the Big Guns next week, so
- 21:44Speaker 4: it's going to come down to literally the last game
- 21:47Speaker 4: of the round to see who's going to be in
- 21:49Speaker 4: these top four positions and which well I think we
- 21:52Speaker 4: kind of know where they're going to be, but which
- 21:53Speaker 4: way it's going to be.
- 21:54Speaker 5: It's fascinating.
- 21:55Speaker 1: It is fascinating, isn't it. Well, it almost always ends
- 21:57Speaker 1: up this way. You sort of need to wait. We're
- 21:59Speaker 1: very rare you have the top four set by round
- 22:01Speaker 1: twelve or round thirteen.
- 22:03Speaker 4: You know what we don't see is both Sydney teams
- 22:05Speaker 4: sitting seventh and eighth and they played each other next
- 22:08Speaker 4: week for the Wooden spoon. Oh gosh, what's happened there?
- 22:12Speaker 4: But anyway, No, it's very interesting.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Poor old giants man, They're just they've had so many
- 22:17Speaker 2: close losses, right, I reckon how much would they have
- 22:20Speaker 2: loved that four minutes and twenty seconds back that was
- 22:23Speaker 2: lost in the tight nets in wa to try to
- 22:25Speaker 2: get that point that they lost by.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Yeah, fascinating, isn't it.
- 22:29Speaker 2: It's only Lightning and Mavericks now in contention for that.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Fourth spot, that fourth spot, and then we've got to
- 22:33Speaker 1: figure out who finishes were first, second, third, like there's
- 22:36Speaker 1: still going to be movement around that. I've got to
- 22:38Speaker 1: say Lightning's performance against Firebirds on the weekend was the
- 22:41Speaker 1: best I've seen them play this year, except for I
- 22:43Speaker 1: went to their game against the Swifts in round one
- 22:46Speaker 1: and they were fantastic, and then I haven't sort of
- 22:49Speaker 1: seen that sort of form until the weekend just gone.
- 22:52Speaker 4: They've been up and down with injuries and stuff. And
- 22:54Speaker 4: I get if you've got the likes of a step.
- 22:56Speaker 5: Forward, step for it, well far out? What's wrong with
- 22:59Speaker 5: my s?
- 23:00Speaker 2: Have social media? Then you have a big sign on
- 23:02Speaker 2: your monitor that says fret well home.
- 23:04Speaker 4: And I still can't get it right. My producer came
- 23:07Speaker 4: in my yesterday. I was like, it's fret well did
- 23:09Speaker 4: I say would seriously? Oh my god, what's wrong with me? Oh?
- 23:12Speaker 3: There should be a blanket rule. You can't change your name.
- 23:14Speaker 5: You can't.
- 23:15Speaker 4: I'll go for a double barrel hyphen but you shouldn't
- 23:17Speaker 4: be able to change your name.
- 23:20Speaker 5: Thankself.
- 23:20Speaker 3: Thanks Caroline.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Sorry you called me Caroline last week.
- 23:25Speaker 5: Jee can't get normal names right?
- 23:27Speaker 2: Serial offender last week. But it's not such a problem.
- 23:30Speaker 2: I don't see the dribblers attacking you for that, but
- 23:32Speaker 2: I do see on your social media a lot of
- 23:34Speaker 2: other people going it's spread well catter and it's like, yeah,
- 23:37Speaker 2: I know, I'm trying, for God's sake.
- 23:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 23:38Speaker 4: This is why I deleted Twitter though, because people do
- 23:41Speaker 4: come at you for stuff. I'm like, I'm doing my best.
- 23:43Speaker 4: I've got signs up, I'm doing my best. I've apologized
- 23:46Speaker 4: to Steff a thousand times, doing my best.
- 23:49Speaker 5: But anyway, what was the question before you got distracted?
- 23:51Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 23:52Speaker 4: I know how well they're going, but it's taken them
- 23:54Speaker 4: a while just to sort it out. Courtney Bruce has
- 23:56Speaker 4: been in and out from injury, and she was meant
- 23:57Speaker 4: to be their star, and I feel like they don't
- 23:59Speaker 4: really meet her at this point because she should be
- 24:02Speaker 4: back to pretty much full load to be cool, and
- 24:04Speaker 4: she's not getting much court time.
- 24:06Speaker 5: Still amazing impact player.
- 24:08Speaker 4: You would think their experience will win them through to
- 24:12Speaker 4: the fourth spot in the finals, but the maso.
- 24:16Speaker 1: Yeah, and they're dangerous, right, Lightning sitting in fourth are dangerous.
- 24:19Speaker 2: I was interested in Briani Aikles's decision to start Helen
- 24:23Speaker 2: Housebier's goal shooter and Sophie Fawns as goal attack and
- 24:27Speaker 2: to have Unique pilavi off discuss.
- 24:30Speaker 5: Yeah, I would have done that.
- 24:31Speaker 4: I think uniques would be tell me well, only because
- 24:34Speaker 4: I think Unique is unique. She's amazing, but she's probably
- 24:38Speaker 4: more of an impact player. Still, she doesn't have that
- 24:40Speaker 4: experience of big games. And I know that in the
- 24:43Speaker 4: scheme of things, wasn't a big games for the Swifts
- 24:46Speaker 4: because it wasn't going to.
- 24:46Speaker 5: Determine making finals or anything like that.
- 24:49Speaker 2: But I do love the last time game it was.
- 24:52Speaker 4: I think, yeah, yeah, and that I mean, these are
- 24:55Speaker 4: the two players that you signed in your initial ten.
- 24:57Speaker 4: Give them a chance to start. But I do like
- 24:59Speaker 4: more of a mobile circle anyway, unique is very special though.
- 25:03Speaker 5: She can move around. She's got the hole. She's incredible.
- 25:05Speaker 2: She got the circle.
- 25:08Speaker 4: Well, instead of having a fowl in their mud, or
- 25:10Speaker 4: a Danelle Wallam or a Aiken George, you don't have
- 25:13Speaker 4: that tall player that stands there and gets majority of
- 25:16Speaker 4: the ball.
- 25:17Speaker 5: The moving circle. Helen Hawsby and Sophie Fawns will be
- 25:20Speaker 5: running the whole time.
- 25:21Speaker 1: And if you're playing against Shamira Sterling, who when you
- 25:24Speaker 1: see her play live, her hops are just phenomenal.
- 25:28Speaker 3: She has the most amazing stor jump.
- 25:30Speaker 1: So you might want to get a shooter like Ellen Howsey,
- 25:32Speaker 1: who's far more of a dodger along the baseline, get
- 25:34Speaker 1: her on the move. You don't want to play into
- 25:37Speaker 1: Shamira Sterling's strength, which is which is the aerial game.
- 25:40Speaker 4: Watching her live though, could you get your head around
- 25:42Speaker 4: how cruzy she is so she just has this couldn't
- 25:46Speaker 4: give a shit face on the entire game, doesn't look
- 25:49Speaker 4: like anything phases her, doesn't even really to a degree
- 25:52Speaker 4: like she's trying. Yeah, but she's there's one person in
- 25:56Speaker 4: this room who was exactly the same when they were playing.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Because I didn't you just looked you just had this
- 26:03Speaker 1: poker face the whole time. And I remember when you
- 26:06Speaker 1: were young, like people used to say, Oh, she's not trying,
- 26:09Speaker 1: she's too casual. But that's just how you were, right,
- 26:11Speaker 1: So Shamira might look like that, but by god, she's effective.
- 26:15Speaker 1: She's so great to watch, like, she is worth the
- 26:17Speaker 1: price of admission alone. So I could see why Briany
- 26:21Speaker 1: was maybe trying to take the game away from her
- 26:23Speaker 1: stress completely.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Yeah, how do you reckon? Her vertical jump would go
- 26:27Speaker 2: compared to sherrel mcmartch. She had the best vertical jump
- 26:29Speaker 2: when you guys were playing, didn't she in the Diamonds?
- 26:31Speaker 1: Oh? Yeah, I reckon, I'm backed Shamira. I've never seen
- 26:34Speaker 1: anyone like it.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Yeah, it is amazing, isn't it.
- 26:38Speaker 4: You must get scared though, when you get up to
- 26:40Speaker 4: the top ohing, you've got to get down again. Sometimes
- 26:44Speaker 4: I used to think I had some massive air and
- 26:46Speaker 4: I'd be like, oh, better.
- 26:47Speaker 5: Land this sofely level sucker in, Yes, two feet, soften
- 26:55Speaker 5: the knee.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Shamira is not like an air bus, Catherine, You and
- 27:01Speaker 1: I might have been.
- 27:02Speaker 4: Do you know what our trainer told us that when
- 27:04Speaker 4: we're doing a sprint session, that we corner like ocean liners.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Lovely?
- 27:10Speaker 5: Isn't that nice?
- 27:11Speaker 4: Just give a big booster confidence when your game is
- 27:13Speaker 4: all about agility.
- 27:14Speaker 5: Yeah, but it was directed at both of us.
- 27:17Speaker 3: It was equally.
- 27:18Speaker 5: All right, let's have a.
- 27:19Speaker 4: Little bet on who we think is going to come
- 27:21Speaker 4: in first, because, as we mentioned, Thunderbirds, Vixen's Fever, all
- 27:26Speaker 4: on forty points, all winnable games, round fourteen, we need
- 27:31Speaker 4: to have a little wager on it as well.
- 27:33Speaker 5: Okay, who do you think, Elizabeth? What's the wager first?
- 27:35Speaker 5: What do we think?
- 27:36Speaker 1: Well, it's really you're the expert, right, Caroline and I
- 27:38Speaker 1: just now just chumps, but you're the expert.
- 27:41Speaker 3: I think.
- 27:41Speaker 1: If you don't get this right, you have to wear
- 27:43Speaker 1: a scrunchy for a full twenty four hours, and we
- 27:45Speaker 1: want them photographic updates.
- 27:47Speaker 5: Twenty four hours is a bit much, not at all.
- 27:49Speaker 2: You can take it out to sleep.
- 27:51Speaker 5: Do I have to leave the house?
- 27:52Speaker 1: Yep? We want to see photos of you at the
- 27:54Speaker 1: gym in the wild. Yeah, in the wild, I'm supermarket.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Take you out for lunch.
- 28:02Speaker 4: Now, all right, I don't want to Okay, come on,
- 28:06Speaker 4: Georgie Horges, Okay, come on, Georgie.
- 28:09Speaker 5: I'm picking the Thunderbirds to come in number one.
- 28:12Speaker 3: So who do they have to beat on the weekend?
- 28:13Speaker 3: And they'll beat They will beat the light They've got
- 28:15Speaker 3: to beat the lightning.
- 28:17Speaker 4: I just want to know who's going to come in
- 28:18Speaker 4: number one? All right, Okay, signing up for this rubbish bet.
- 28:22Speaker 3: I say Vixen's will come in number one.
- 28:25Speaker 2: I was going to say the same.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Let you and I go the sameez come on, but
- 28:30Speaker 1: well maybe you go Fever.
- 28:34Speaker 2: I lock in the Maps are going to get up
- 28:35Speaker 2: over the Fever this weekend.
- 28:39Speaker 3: Cool.
- 28:39Speaker 2: Well you look at the last couple of games that
- 28:41Speaker 2: Fever have played. They've only just won.
- 28:43Speaker 4: True.
- 28:44Speaker 5: No, no, that's a good get.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Okay, so you're going and including at home against the
- 28:48Speaker 2: Giants they only just one like they're they're a bloody
- 28:50Speaker 2: good side. The Maps have got some real mongrel about them,
- 28:53Speaker 2: which I really like.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Yeah, they're a bit unpredictable, aren't They don't know I'm
- 28:56Speaker 1: going to go I'm going to go Vixen's first.
- 28:59Speaker 4: Okay, Okay, so yelling Vixen's, are you going to go
- 29:03Speaker 4: like mate land the plane?
- 29:06Speaker 2: Well yeah, all right, well look I'll go Fever then, Okay,
- 29:09Speaker 2: there you go. It's more interesting as a bet if
- 29:10Speaker 2: we've got if we're each backing one and I now
- 29:13Speaker 2: am I have been given the keys to the city
- 29:15Speaker 2: of Perth by going once to a fever game at
- 29:18Speaker 2: rac Arena.
- 29:20Speaker 5: So which they quickly took off you.
- 29:22Speaker 2: I could be out of this bet by next week
- 29:24Speaker 2: if the MAVs do get up over the fever. I
- 29:27Speaker 2: think everything I have said about netball has been proven
- 29:31Speaker 2: to be wrong within seven days. So there we go, MAVs.
- 29:35Speaker 2: I'm sorry once again the kiss of death from me for.
- 29:38Speaker 3: A netball commentator. You're an excellent comedian.
- 29:41Speaker 2: Thank you, ladies.
- 29:45Speaker 3: We beneath our wings.
- 29:46Speaker 1: This is somebody who we have heard of through our
- 29:49Speaker 1: network or who we know, who has just been absolutely
- 29:52Speaker 1: outstanding and who lifts up everybody around her. And this
- 29:56Speaker 1: is my first time in the studio today, so I'm
- 29:58Speaker 1: going to take charge of this.
- 30:00Speaker 3: I going to nominate our producer Mandy.
- 30:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:05Speaker 3: So, Mandy, this is your last show with us. You're
- 30:08Speaker 3: going off to better things to go and see other people.
- 30:12Speaker 1: But we love the fact that you've steered us through
- 30:15Speaker 1: the first ten episodes of our show and taught us
- 30:17Speaker 1: how to be podcasters, and let's face it, we're a
- 30:19Speaker 1: very tough bunch to corral, as you've done it, so
- 30:24Speaker 1: I know you sat and made half the scrutch.
- 30:28Speaker 2: Sadly badly find a particularly crappy one for you too.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Yes, yes, maybe we might give you a scrunchy that
- 30:35Speaker 1: he's unformed.
- 30:36Speaker 3: And you have to.
- 30:40Speaker 2: Oh, girls, honestly, I would feel honored to wear that scrunchy.
- 30:43Speaker 2: In fact, I'll come to lunch with you and we
- 30:45Speaker 2: can all do the scrunches with Catherine when she loses
- 30:48Speaker 2: the beat. Fantastic.
- 30:50Speaker 5: Oh that's a great idea, though, Liz. Well done.
- 30:52Speaker 4: Thank The one thing we haven't mentioned too, which I'll
- 30:54Speaker 4: do now is our fabulous supporters print the Wines have
- 30:58Speaker 4: come on board. They are going to give a twenty
- 31:01Speaker 4: five dollars voucher towards some wine to whoever nominates someone.
- 31:05Speaker 5: Forgot, and I haven't even mentioned that.
- 31:11Speaker 4: So I'll be nominating everybody every week myself. But keep
- 31:15Speaker 4: that in mind because we do need lots more nominations.
- 31:17Speaker 4: You can do that via Instagram, you can do it
- 31:19Speaker 4: via Facebook, but let us know. If you nominate someone,
- 31:22Speaker 4: you will get a twenty five dollar voucher for Printhy Wines,
- 31:25Speaker 4: which is amazing.
- 31:26Speaker 5: Thank you to Printhy.
- 31:28Speaker 3: I may I may have taste tested some of their
- 31:30Speaker 3: wines yesterday. The swifts function stuff. The rose is my favorite,
- 31:34Speaker 3: just saying, there you go.
- 31:35Speaker 2: And for those win beneath our wingers who have been
- 31:38Speaker 2: nominated in the first ten episodes who are wondering where
- 31:41Speaker 2: the scrunchy is, there's just a little bit of admin
- 31:44Speaker 2: that's falling to me at the moment, and I'm on holiday,
- 31:46Speaker 2: so it soon we will be asking for your addresses
- 31:48Speaker 2: and those scrunches will wing their wing their ways to you.
- 31:53Speaker 2: I thought that was going to fall off the tongue
- 31:55Speaker 2: more easier than it did, but yeah, we'll post them.
- 32:00Speaker 2: We're really going to miss you, and you have been
- 32:01Speaker 2: the wind beneath our wings in getting this podcast off
- 32:04Speaker 2: the ground and this little community that we are developing.
- 32:07Speaker 2: So thank you, Thank you, you beautiful women.
- 32:10Speaker 5: I've loved every minute.
- 32:11Speaker 3: Thanks Mandy, She's all right for a short girl.
- 32:13Speaker 4: We're hanging out with way too many short people lately.
- 32:15Speaker 4: We're not going to catch it, are we.
- 32:18Speaker 3: We're not going to catch it in each quarters where
- 32:22Speaker 3: it happened. We'll see you in six months ago. What
- 32:25Speaker 3: happened to you?
- 32:25Speaker 1: And you're like, well, I was in the studio with
- 32:27Speaker 1: Carolyne and Mannon. I caught the short girl sing and no,
- 32:30Speaker 1: I'm sure. I'll be like, oh my god, I'm so glad.
- 32:32Speaker 3: I dial in every week.
- 32:33Speaker 5: And the Chemist thinks I'm crazy.
- 32:36Speaker 3: There's no credit for that.
- 32:38Speaker 1: Chemist is like, dude, you've come to me with a
- 32:40Speaker 1: long list of symptoms in the past, but I can't.
- 32:44Speaker 2: Give you a crane for this. So listen. I've just
- 32:51Speaker 2: had a message all the way over here in Western
- 32:53Speaker 2: Australia that the right police are on their way to
- 32:56Speaker 2: the studio because they've heard a little bit of disturbance.
- 32:58Speaker 2: So we should probably wrap up this episode of.
- 33:00Speaker 4: Notre It's not the first time we've been in the
- 33:02Speaker 4: back of one of those cars either, just glass true.
- 33:04Speaker 3: But last time they took us to it. But that's it. Sorry,
- 33:11Speaker 3: We put us up from lunch and took us to
- 33:12Speaker 3: a concert.
- 33:13Speaker 4: Yeah, it was a plumbers van, well undercover was a
- 33:16Speaker 4: plumbers van. And then you get in the back and
- 33:18Speaker 4: it's got all the guns and stuff all over the world.
- 33:20Speaker 4: It's scary. It wasn't because we're in trouble. Just to
- 33:23Speaker 4: clarify anyway, we digress by everyone.
- 33:27Speaker 2: You thought it was an uba. Anyway, everyone have a
- 33:30Speaker 2: great week. It's our last last week of the regular
- 33:32Speaker 2: round and no Dribble will be back next week. Please
- 33:35Speaker 2: nominate Win Beneath our Wings. You know there is now
- 33:37Speaker 2: an incentive for you as the nominator as well as
- 33:40Speaker 2: the normanee, who will obviously win the scrunchy, the hand
- 33:45Speaker 2: crafted amateur embarrassing Scrunchy. We do still have some states
- 33:50Speaker 2: unrepresented for our Win Beneath our Wings network, so please
- 33:53Speaker 2: join the Facebook group, join us on Instagram, get involved,
- 33:58Speaker 2: introduce yourself to the other dribbler. Please share this podcast
- 34:01Speaker 2: with anyone who you think will enjoy a good laugh
- 34:04Speaker 2: and a good time, even if they don't find netball
- 34:08Speaker 2: coursing through their veins like the rest of us, like
- 34:10Speaker 2: normal people do. Anyway, I'm Carolyn Fwndel, Catcock lise Alas
- 34:14Speaker 2: see you next week. Bye bye,
