- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, guys, Zack and Donald, here we have a bit
- 0:03Speaker 1: of bad news. It was just brought to our attention
- 0:06Speaker 1: that Sam Lloyd, who plays Ted the lawyer on our show,
- 0:12Speaker 1: passed away. And for me, this is this is really,
- 0:16Speaker 1: this is this is heartbreaking. Sam was a very very
- 0:22Speaker 1: amazing person and he used to he had a we
- 0:27Speaker 1: talked about it on the podcast, but he was a
- 0:29Speaker 1: part of a band called the Blanks. And I remember
- 0:32Speaker 1: realizing that Sam wasn't just a really funny actor, but
- 0:37Speaker 1: he was also a really talented singer. And I played
- 0:42Speaker 1: basketball with him, and he was a very good basketball player.
- 0:45Speaker 1: And you know, he was also a good friend, and
- 0:48Speaker 1: he was the nicest man I think I've ever met.
- 0:51Speaker 1: He was so sweet and kind and just love to laugh.
- 0:55Speaker 1: I mean when you know, he would come on and
- 0:56Speaker 1: play that super nerdy lawyer character, but he would we
- 0:59Speaker 1: would all do crack up so hard with Sam. And
- 1:03Speaker 1: interestingly enough, he was a really good basketball player, right Donald,
- 1:05Speaker 1: I mean, I know, he was an amazing basketball player.
- 1:07Speaker 1: I remember I was. I used to play in this
- 1:10Speaker 1: league called the NBA Entertainment League. And the only qualification
- 1:14Speaker 1: that you needed to have to be in the NBA
- 1:16Speaker 1: Entertainment League was be in the entertainment industry, and I
- 1:21Speaker 1: would try to recruit Sam every Sunday to play for
- 1:25Speaker 1: my team, and he would say no, because the Patriots
- 1:29Speaker 1: are playing and I can't miss the Patriots play. And
- 1:33Speaker 1: I just thought he would be such like he would
- 1:35Speaker 1: be such a he would be such a secret weapon
- 1:38Speaker 1: because nobody would assume that Sam Lloyd could play basketball
- 1:42Speaker 1: that well. And he was assassin on the court. He
- 1:45Speaker 1: was a killer on the court. Yeah, And I like
- 1:48Speaker 1: his character. I know that he found love, true love
- 1:52Speaker 1: later in life and just had a baby and he
- 1:55Speaker 1: you know, this was caused by a tumor in his
- 1:58Speaker 1: brain and he had been in fighting in a long time.
- 2:00Speaker 1: And I actually saw him within the last six months
- 2:03Speaker 1: or so, and he looked great. He looked amazing, and
- 2:06Speaker 1: I didn't want to talk about you know, I stayed,
- 2:09Speaker 1: I danced around it because I didn't want to bring
- 2:10Speaker 1: up the subject if he didn't want to talk about it.
- 2:12Speaker 1: And he just looked fully recovered. And today he finally
- 2:16Speaker 1: lost his battle with cancer. Yes, it's heartbreaking. So um
- 2:20Speaker 1: we we we love him and uh and we know
- 2:22Speaker 1: the fans do, and so this is very sad. So
- 2:25Speaker 1: if you guys want to contribute to help his wife
- 2:29Speaker 1: and baby, I myself have already given to it, and
- 2:32Speaker 1: Joelle is going to let us know if anyone wants
- 2:34Speaker 1: the link could go fund Me is a little confusing,
- 2:36Speaker 1: so just search Sam Lloyd go fund me and you'll
- 2:39Speaker 1: find it and Joel will also put it in the
- 2:41Speaker 1: description of the episode this week. So we love you Sam,
- 2:46Speaker 1: We love you Sam, and uh and and I sir,
- 2:49Speaker 1: anyone listening here can attest to how hard that fella
- 2:52Speaker 1: made us laugh. And uh and I know for sure
- 2:56Speaker 1: that he made a difference in a lot of people's
- 2:58Speaker 1: lives because we all all need to laugh, and Sam
- 3:01Speaker 1: made us laugh. So now we're going to switch tones
- 3:04Speaker 1: and uh and in the spirit and honor of Sammy,
- 3:07Speaker 1: we were going to go into episode. So here we go.
- 3:11Speaker 1: We just did a sort of drinks thing where like,
- 3:14Speaker 1: you know, nine people get together, you make a special
- 3:17Speaker 1: cocktail and just kind of all shoot the shit over zoom.
- 3:21Speaker 1: It was fun. Wow, maybe we could do that to Giddy.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I wouldn't I wouldn't mind that at all. You know what,
- 3:27Speaker 1: speaking of drinking, it's come to my attention thanks to
- 3:31Speaker 1: social media that every time I say, you know what
- 3:34Speaker 1: I mean? Some people online are playing a drinking game.
- 3:37Speaker 1: And yeah, now here's the thing. I listen. We listen
- 3:42Speaker 1: to all the podcasts, right do you say you know
- 3:44Speaker 1: what I mean? A lot? I mean, I just that's
- 3:45Speaker 1: the way anyone. I don't know how anyone can make
- 3:48Speaker 1: it through the podcast without being on the floor drunk. Dude,
- 3:54Speaker 1: how does that happen? I think it's because I'm just
- 3:56Speaker 1: used to you. That's just the way you speak. You
- 3:58Speaker 1: always say that, or you know what I'm saying. You
- 4:00Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, right right, right. First of all,
- 4:02Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I didn't realize don't mess up, don't mess
- 4:05Speaker 1: up their drinking game. I'm still gonna say that ship,
- 4:08Speaker 1: But well, I can make it through the podcast. Whoever
- 4:11Speaker 1: has made it through the podcast after saying after me
- 4:14Speaker 1: saying you know what I mean, I'm sorry, but you
- 4:16Speaker 1: have a problem, right, and once quarantine is over, let's
- 4:19Speaker 1: address it. Well, I'm just honored that people are doing
- 4:22Speaker 1: drinking games related to the podcast. That's exciting. There's no
- 4:25Speaker 1: way anyone can make it through this podcast with me
- 4:28Speaker 1: saying you know what I mean without being so drunk
- 4:31Speaker 1: that they can't move anymore, there's no Well, let's do
- 4:35Speaker 1: an informal count. You guys how many times he says,
- 4:38Speaker 1: you know what I mean in this episode, and then
- 4:40Speaker 1: we'll know how drunk people are gonna get right on.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I like that idea. There's a lot of that idea.
- 4:47Speaker 1: If you guys aren't playing this game, now's the time
- 4:50Speaker 1: to get on board right every time. Two days gone
- 4:55Speaker 1: by to the live that you used to be. Let
- 5:02Speaker 1: the friendshipship never run raw like the wine friendship never.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Here's to do? And he to me, God, we gotta
- 5:18Speaker 1: really schedule that full name iss episode. I can't wait
- 5:21Speaker 1: for the lame EP. I know, and I want to
- 5:24Speaker 1: play Epenning and Cosette. You can be Javert. I want
- 5:30Speaker 1: to be Gavroche. You want all the major roles. Good evening,
- 5:34Speaker 1: dear Inspector, lovely evening, Mike, don't ust to be Javera.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Why does anybody ever want? I know this man, my friends,
- 5:40Speaker 1: his name's Inspector Javert. So don't believe a word he says,
- 5:44Speaker 1: because none of it's true. This only goes to show
- 5:47Speaker 1: what little people can do. Do you hear the people sing,
- 5:52Speaker 1: that's gonna be hard. We're gonna have to do every part.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Dan's gonna have a lot of mixing to do when
- 5:56Speaker 1: we do the big back one closer. But let's say
- 6:00Speaker 1: the best song in the world. Welcome to Fake Doctors,
- 6:03Speaker 1: Real Friends, Countesson Donald seven day, stories about show we
- 6:08Speaker 1: made about a bunch of docs and nurses, said stories.
- 6:19Speaker 1: So yeada around here? Are yea around here? M hm?
- 6:29Speaker 1: As he SIPs his wine, What are we drinking today?
- 6:31Speaker 1: You know, a lot of discussion wine wine, Okay, a
- 6:35Speaker 1: lot of discussion on what will Donald drink today? Because
- 6:38Speaker 1: it's just you shake it up. You had you had
- 6:41Speaker 1: a orange juice ticky yeah, and you had I just
- 6:44Speaker 1: love that in my mind. You're just going through an
- 6:46Speaker 1: empty liquor cabinet and seeing what's left. You know, I
- 6:50Speaker 1: made a supermarket run. I go. Yeah, I gloved up,
- 6:53Speaker 1: I masked up, and you know, got a bunch of
- 6:55Speaker 1: food and some libation for said accasion that we are
- 7:01Speaker 1: doing right now. I also, you know, Joe Rogan, one
- 7:06Speaker 1: of his sponsors is Alpha Brains. It's like this pill
- 7:11Speaker 1: that you take that you know helps you focus. So
- 7:14Speaker 1: Joe Rogan's marketing worked on you, and you bought it,
- 7:16Speaker 1: and I bought it. So do you feel smarter. I
- 7:19Speaker 1: don't know if I feel smarter, but I'm definitely more
- 7:21Speaker 1: conscious of how many times I'm gonna say you know
- 7:23Speaker 1: what I mean about that? All Right, Well, the real
- 7:27Speaker 1: test is if you say you know what I mean
- 7:29Speaker 1: or you know what I'm saying less and Joe Rogan's
- 7:32Speaker 1: magical pill is working on you, it could be a
- 7:35Speaker 1: placebo effect or could actually be real. If it is real,
- 7:38Speaker 1: Alpha Brain, we would love to market your product as well.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Oh my god, it's funny. Yeah, I've been. I've been
- 7:45Speaker 1: listening to podcasts more and more since we've been doing
- 7:47Speaker 1: this one, and it's funny hearing all the different things
- 7:49Speaker 1: people sell, and uh, yeah, there's a handful of products.
- 7:52Speaker 1: I'm like, I wanted to try too, because people are
- 7:55Speaker 1: like good, especially since a lot of people like I
- 7:57Speaker 1: imagine we are as we start to do advertising. We've
- 8:00Speaker 1: told iHeart and everyone, we only gonna want to sell
- 8:03Speaker 1: things that we really like or believe in. And so
- 8:05Speaker 1: when like, you know, Pete Holmes is telling you, like
- 8:09Speaker 1: honestly about this product he tried and really liked it,
- 8:11Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, I want to try that, Like it's
- 8:14Speaker 1: like a genuine testimonial. And I've been walking around the
- 8:16Speaker 1: house and I'm like, there's things in my house that
- 8:18Speaker 1: are so good. I said to my gal, I said,
- 8:22Speaker 1: you know, I could do an ad for this sponge.
- 8:24Speaker 1: This sponge is so good. You always go back to dishes.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Look at you. I do so many dishes. I don't
- 8:31Speaker 1: know what it is about quarantine, but I do so
- 8:33Speaker 1: many dishes. I mean, does everyone else out there feel
- 8:35Speaker 1: like you're doing dishes for like a quarter of the day.
- 8:38Speaker 1: There's so many dishes. The worst part is is you
- 8:41Speaker 1: clean your kitchen only to cook in it right right
- 8:45Speaker 1: away again, you know what I mean. My dad told
- 8:47Speaker 1: me this story about he was he was in the
- 8:49Speaker 1: military and he had he was had dish duty, you know,
- 8:52Speaker 1: and he cleaned a pot that was like you know
- 8:54Speaker 1: that you'd literally feed an army with. It was like,
- 8:57Speaker 1: you know, a four foot pot or something. And he
- 8:59Speaker 1: said he spent hours and he'd finally get all the
- 9:02Speaker 1: grime off, and he finally was so proud of himself.
- 9:04Speaker 1: It was like a giant task. And he'd hang it
- 9:07Speaker 1: up on the hook, and just as he hung it up,
- 9:09Speaker 1: some guny would take it off and put it back
- 9:10Speaker 1: on the stud and that's how I feel at my house,
- 9:15Speaker 1: you know, anyway, But you're being fed. I'm being fed
- 9:18Speaker 1: very well. And I do feel like this isn't an ad.
- 9:22Speaker 1: But I'm telling you this scrub Daddy sponge, I could
- 9:25Speaker 1: do an ad for it. I really stand by and
- 9:27Speaker 1: when I look at my whole my whole palette of
- 9:29Speaker 1: tools for cleaning, all these pots and pans might go
- 9:32Speaker 1: to is the scrub Daddy. And coincidentally it's got Jace
- 9:37Speaker 1: fucker should be advertising with us. Joel call scrub Daddy.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Let's get into this, right, Janey bunkin rotus. Yeah, thanks, Yes,
- 9:47Speaker 1: Thanksgiving episode written by Jennet. You went to college with
- 9:51Speaker 1: Jane went to Northwestern so like me, so we know
- 9:53Speaker 1: that she's very smart. Did you guys go at the
- 9:55Speaker 1: same time we did. I don't think we really knew.
- 9:59Speaker 1: I think we were aquaintances there. I also, you know,
- 10:02Speaker 1: both Carrie Brothers and Josh Raiden went there, and I
- 10:06Speaker 1: knew them as acquaintances. Well, there are a lot of
- 10:09Speaker 1: people that went to Northwestern, dude. That's I know. There's
- 10:11Speaker 1: a whole Northwestern Hollywood mafia because they have a very
- 10:14Speaker 1: good film and TV program But It's funny. Two of
- 10:17Speaker 1: my best friends went there, and I was just barely
- 10:21Speaker 1: acquaintances with them there, and now we're as close as
- 10:24Speaker 1: close can be with you. You're the close friend that
- 10:27Speaker 1: didn't go to Northwestern. I love those guys too. Did
- 10:30Speaker 1: you go to the performing arts high School? By the way,
- 10:32Speaker 1: I didn't. I went to Professional Children's School. Shout out
- 10:35Speaker 1: to the Professional children School. You know, is that the
- 10:38Speaker 1: high school. No, I didn't get into the Fame High School.
- 10:41Speaker 1: I auditioned for it, and I tried to could picture
- 10:43Speaker 1: you dancing on a cab like they do, like Leroy
- 10:45Speaker 1: did in Fame. I would have loved to have been
- 10:48Speaker 1: Leroy and danced on top of a cab in any
- 10:52Speaker 1: type of Fame production. Growing up in New York City
- 10:58Speaker 1: and knowing that the school was right up the block
- 11:00Speaker 1: from where I lived. So you had the audition and
- 11:02Speaker 1: you didn't get in. I did not get in. You know,
- 11:05Speaker 1: auditioning is tough because it's like one moment and you
- 11:07Speaker 1: got to nail it. And this was you know, we're
- 11:09Speaker 1: all very young, and a lot of people prepared a
- 11:11Speaker 1: lot more than I did, and I thought I was
- 11:13Speaker 1: just gonna get by. I had already worked and everything
- 11:15Speaker 1: like that, and I thought I was going to get
- 11:16Speaker 1: by just on the fact that I was a working
- 11:19Speaker 1: actor already. And I remember really wanting to go to
- 11:23Speaker 1: that school and I didn't get into LaGuardia, and all
- 11:26Speaker 1: my friends got into LaGuardia, which is the Fame High
- 11:29Speaker 1: School in New York. And my mom was like, there's
- 11:32Speaker 1: another school called the Professional Children's School, but it's a
- 11:35Speaker 1: private school and if you go there, you're gonna have
- 11:38Speaker 1: to work and get jobs in New York to pay
- 11:42Speaker 1: for school. And I was like, Oh, that sounds way
- 11:46Speaker 1: more enticing than going and you know, I'd be a
- 11:49Speaker 1: professional already. And so throughout high school I did commercials
- 11:54Speaker 1: and stuff like that. So you paid for your own
- 11:56Speaker 1: so I could pay for my education. Yeah, that's interesting.
- 11:59Speaker 1: I never I never heard of someone who paid for
- 12:01Speaker 1: their own high school work. Well, I was. I had
- 12:03Speaker 1: already been working as an actor, so when I went
- 12:06Speaker 1: to that school, there were a bunch of kids like
- 12:07Speaker 1: me who did that. So, like, you look at the
- 12:10Speaker 1: people that went to that school, it's like Scarlett Johanson,
- 12:13Speaker 1: Malcolm Jamal Warner, I mean pretty much everybody that was
- 12:16Speaker 1: on The Cosby Show, went to that school. McAuley, Culkin, Sarah.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Some of these were you friends with some of these folks,
- 12:22Speaker 1: all of these people, you know, I remember, I remember
- 12:25Speaker 1: when I didn't know Scarlett becase Scarlett's a lot younger
- 12:27Speaker 1: than me. But I h you know, the year I
- 12:30Speaker 1: got there, Malcolm Jamal Warner and Tempest Bloodsoll had just
- 12:33Speaker 1: graduated and they were on The Cosby Show. And I
- 12:37Speaker 1: remember Anthony Michael Hall went there and I thought that
- 12:40Speaker 1: was the coolest thing ever because him and the other
- 12:43Speaker 1: kid from Weird Science went there, and that was one
- 12:45Speaker 1: of my favorite movies of all time me too, back
- 12:47Speaker 1: in the day. All right, let's get back to this.
- 12:48Speaker 1: So Janet, Yeah, you went to college with Yes, But
- 12:52Speaker 1: I want to talk about one more thing before that.
- 12:54Speaker 1: When you saw Fame and you saw Leroy Fame the movie,
- 12:57Speaker 1: were you like, oh my god, I want to be Leroy. No.
- 13:01Speaker 1: I was never like, oh my god, I want to
- 13:02Speaker 1: be Leroy because Leroy was a dancer and you weren't
- 13:05Speaker 1: really a dancer, although you are. No, that's not why.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Leroy was a very tough kid dude, and you know,
- 13:10Speaker 1: had a switchblade, had a bunch of knives under his
- 13:13Speaker 1: jacket and stuff like that, Like you know what I mean,
- 13:16Speaker 1: And you grew up in Hill's Kitchen, I mean, did you? Yeah? Absolutely,
- 13:19Speaker 1: I grew up in House Kitchen, and Hell's Kitchen is
- 13:21Speaker 1: a very tough neighborhood, and you know, there are a
- 13:25Speaker 1: lot of other very very very tough neighborhoods in New
- 13:28Speaker 1: York City. And so I just remember looking back at
- 13:31Speaker 1: Fame and being like, if I could be anybody, I
- 13:34Speaker 1: want to be Bruno because he played the music and
- 13:37Speaker 1: got to hang out with Irene Kara for the whole movie.
- 13:41Speaker 1: They were like tight and best friends because he had
- 13:43Speaker 1: the music and she could sing. And that's how the
- 13:45Speaker 1: song Fame comes about. Where Bruno's dad is in the
- 13:48Speaker 1: middle of the street for the children. If you're not following,
- 13:51Speaker 1: you need to watch a very sci film called Speaker.
- 13:55Speaker 1: How did he get those speakers to get that loud?
- 13:57Speaker 1: That's what I want to know. In the middle of
- 13:59Speaker 1: where ever you know the school was at the time,
- 14:03Speaker 1: his dad pulls up and Blair's Fame. I'm going and
- 14:08Speaker 1: out of know where people are danced come out of
- 14:10Speaker 1: the school and are dancing on top of the cab
- 14:12Speaker 1: and on top of all the cars. And I was
- 14:16Speaker 1: so young when I saw that movie, and I was like,
- 14:18Speaker 1: this is a real school, like you can dance in
- 14:20Speaker 1: the streets. Well, I mean I I don't know much
- 14:24Speaker 1: about the school because, as I said, I didn't get in.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Now those were one of the reasons why I wanted
- 14:29Speaker 1: to get and I just wanted to break out in
- 14:30Speaker 1: the middle of the song in the cafeteria, just like
- 14:32Speaker 1: out of nowhere, I'm hungry for steak, and you wanted
- 14:36Speaker 1: Debbie Allen to be giving you the monologue. I got
- 14:38Speaker 1: to meet Debbie Allen did for she didn't, but she
- 14:42Speaker 1: called me Leroy accidentally in the middle of the Oh
- 14:46Speaker 1: my god, you can check it out. Okay. So I
- 14:47Speaker 1: did this movie called Next Day Air and it's with
- 14:49Speaker 1: me most deeph Mike Epps, Wood Harris, A bunch of
- 14:53Speaker 1: people are in it Lauren London, like a bunch of
- 14:55Speaker 1: people are in it, right, And it takes place in Philadelphia,
- 14:59Speaker 1: and I'm a I deliver packages. So the name of
- 15:03Speaker 1: the movie's Next Day Era, and the name of the
- 15:05Speaker 1: company in the movie that I worked for was in
- 15:08Speaker 1: Da Right. And the manager of the company was Debbie Allen,
- 15:13Speaker 1: who played my mom, who gave me the job at
- 15:16Speaker 1: the company, right, my character's Momo, and we're doing the
- 15:20Speaker 1: scene and she's, you know, yelling at me, uh like
- 15:25Speaker 1: she did to Leroy all the time. And in the
- 15:27Speaker 1: middle of yelling at me, she goes Lee Roy Boy,
- 15:31Speaker 1: and I was like, what, wow? I mean, did you
- 15:34Speaker 1: think it was an honor? I would have thought it
- 15:35Speaker 1: was an honor. I was so excited and so happy
- 15:38Speaker 1: that I broke out into song. Do you start where
- 15:41Speaker 1: you start singing? Fame? I'm gonna live forever. I knew
- 15:46Speaker 1: right then and there, that's incredible. I mean, what an honor? Yeah,
- 15:50Speaker 1: it was amazing. I think it's in the I think
- 15:52Speaker 1: it's in If they do the gag reel in the
- 15:55Speaker 1: credits like most movie, like a lot of movies do,
- 15:59Speaker 1: then it's there, or it might be on the DVD
- 16:02Speaker 1: or whatever it is. Yeah, out seek out the gag
- 16:05Speaker 1: reel of Next Day Air and you get to see
- 16:07Speaker 1: Debbie Allen call Donald Leroy, Yes, best day of my life?
- 16:13Speaker 1: Can we get in the episode? For God's sakes? Absolutely?
- 16:16Speaker 1: Melody Keane directed it. Alody only directed one episode of Scrubs,
- 16:20Speaker 1: but U but did lots of other shows. Just looking
- 16:23Speaker 1: at her credits on IMDb. She's one many many a
- 16:26Speaker 1: show and had Emmy nominations for La Law and she
- 16:29Speaker 1: uh did a lot of Glee, but with us, she
- 16:32Speaker 1: was only one around once. You know, the first thing
- 16:35Speaker 1: that happens in this episode that is beautiful is Deontay
- 16:38Speaker 1: Gordon at sixteen seconds in immediately as you hand him,
- 16:42Speaker 1: he hands you a drink. As a matter of fact,
- 16:44Speaker 1: he does as you walk into a bar. That was
- 16:46Speaker 1: also very interesting for me because around that time I
- 16:50Speaker 1: was definitely your best wing man when it came to
- 16:54Speaker 1: going out life talk about real life, because I was
- 16:56Speaker 1: nerdy and had no game, and this sounds I don't
- 17:00Speaker 1: know if you had no game, but well I was
- 17:03Speaker 1: shyer than you, and you were very I just had
- 17:05Speaker 1: been out. I just had been in Hollywood a little
- 17:07Speaker 1: bit longer as as a working actor than you had.
- 17:10Speaker 1: At that moment in time, you were very confident. And
- 17:14Speaker 1: the scene is definitely in the spirit of our real lives.
- 17:18Speaker 1: But wait before we get to you chatting up for
- 17:20Speaker 1: wing manning for me, So you guys, at sixteen seconds,
- 17:24Speaker 1: the guy who hands me a beer is Deontay Gordon,
- 17:27Speaker 1: and he not only was he Donald's stand in for
- 17:29Speaker 1: the entire run of the show. But he was a
- 17:32Speaker 1: very good friend of ours, is a good friend of ours,
- 17:34Speaker 1: and Donald plays golf of them still all the time. Actually,
- 17:36Speaker 1: Deontay and I met on Clueless, the television show, and
- 17:42Speaker 1: he wasn't my standing but he did background on that one,
- 17:44Speaker 1: and then he went over and was doing stand in
- 17:46Speaker 1: work over on Sabrina the Teenage Witch. And when I
- 17:49Speaker 1: went and did Sabrina the Teenage Witch, he was my
- 17:52Speaker 1: stand in for that, and I had known him from
- 17:57Speaker 1: doing Clueless, and I was like, dude, if I get
- 17:59Speaker 1: anything out, you're coming with me. So he stood. He
- 18:03Speaker 1: stood in for me for quite a few So for
- 18:05Speaker 1: those of you don't know, the stand ins are what happens.
- 18:09Speaker 1: We we block out, We do figure out where we're
- 18:11Speaker 1: gonna go and all where we're all gonna stand in rehearsal,
- 18:14Speaker 1: and where the cameras are gonna move. They put in
- 18:16Speaker 1: marks on the ground. And then while we go off
- 18:19Speaker 1: and go to hair, makeup or do other learn our
- 18:22Speaker 1: lines and do other stuff, the stand ins stand in
- 18:25Speaker 1: our places and do all the blockings so that the
- 18:26Speaker 1: cameraman can light them and can can practice the camera
- 18:30Speaker 1: moves and all that stuff, and they're supposed to be
- 18:33Speaker 1: roughly your skin tone and roughly your same height. Well,
- 18:36Speaker 1: but because Dehonte was Donald's friend, he was standing in
- 18:39Speaker 1: for him. But Deonte literally was so much shorter than
- 18:41Speaker 1: Donald that they built special shoes for him. I don't
- 18:45Speaker 1: know how high those platforms were. Do you remember he
- 18:46Speaker 1: would wear them? Yeah, well, him and JK wore them too,
- 18:49Speaker 1: for when because j K would stand in for Cocks
- 18:52Speaker 1: and he would stand in for the janitor. So he
- 18:54Speaker 1: had special shoes for when he had to stand in
- 18:56Speaker 1: for the janitor, right exactly. And and yeah, and they
- 18:59Speaker 1: made it so that was my height because he's a
- 19:02Speaker 1: little bit shorter than I am. Yeah, and I remember
- 19:04Speaker 1: one night we were filming an episode, the Christmas episode
- 19:07Speaker 1: where he has to run, and they made him run
- 19:09Speaker 1: in those damn shoes, and I was like, dude, please
- 19:11Speaker 1: don't Tae, don't die, dude. I was funny watching those
- 19:17Speaker 1: guys in their giant platform boots looking like Frankenstein the
- 19:21Speaker 1: Frankenstein shoes. So yeah, So Deontay Gordon, man, holy cow,
- 19:25Speaker 1: he's a great guy. And you know the standings, the
- 19:27Speaker 1: standings for all all of our stand ins for for
- 19:30Speaker 1: the main cast were there all the time, and we
- 19:32Speaker 1: were became really good friends with them, and we would
- 19:34Speaker 1: go out to bars with them and we would hang
- 19:36Speaker 1: out with them. And I still hang out with Deontay.
- 19:38Speaker 1: He and I played golf quite a bit. Rabbidu was
- 19:41Speaker 1: my standing and we um and we could never find him,
- 19:44Speaker 1: so we made up a song. Do you remember the song? Rabe? Uh?
- 19:54Speaker 1: You know? Deontay was always punctual, so we'd but Scott Harris,
- 20:01Speaker 1: who was one of our first ads, and Frank Cameron,
- 20:05Speaker 1: who's better known as doctor Mickhead. We all play golf together.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Well not right now because we're quarantined. I hope I
- 20:13Speaker 1: didn't say Frank's last name wrong because I called him
- 20:14Speaker 1: Frank Mickhead all the time. But any Frank Mickhead to
- 20:18Speaker 1: his face, absolutely do that. Mickhead is a big deal, dude, Mickhead.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Does Mickhead get recordnigs out in the world? The people
- 20:26Speaker 1: go Mickhead when he goes. I'm sure when he goes
- 20:29Speaker 1: to his home. He's from Canada originally. I bet you
- 20:32Speaker 1: didn't know who he is in Canada, and I bet
- 20:33Speaker 1: you there are a lot of Scrubs fans if they
- 20:35Speaker 1: saw him. They'd be like, holy shit, that's Mickhead. I
- 20:37Speaker 1: was watching a movie and a Beard Fasse was prominently
- 20:41Speaker 1: featured as a background person. I was some Skyfall. He's
- 20:45Speaker 1: in Skyfall on an airplane. No, he's on a train.
- 20:49Speaker 1: I think it was a David Fincher movie, um, one
- 20:54Speaker 1: of the big David Fincher movies. And there's an airplane
- 20:56Speaker 1: and the camera is going into the star whoever it is,
- 20:58Speaker 1: and he goes right by Beard Fusse, and I was
- 21:01Speaker 1: like screamed. I was like, Beard Fusse, Yeah, I think
- 21:03Speaker 1: it might. I truly believe it might have been Skyfall.
- 21:07Speaker 1: But uh yeah, So I played golf with those guys
- 21:09Speaker 1: and we get it in Mickhead is a really good golfer.
- 21:12Speaker 1: He's and so Scott Harris believe it or not? Really
- 21:15Speaker 1: yeah and so and so are you Deonte? I know
- 21:18Speaker 1: you're listening right now. You're a good golfer. Two yes, YouTube, Deonte.
- 21:22Speaker 1: You know I told everyone in the audience about lens
- 21:25Speaker 1: spiking and how I and I happened to find it.
- 21:27Speaker 1: At nineteen seconds in there's a guy in a yellow shirt.
- 21:29Speaker 1: You're gonna see it bam right into the lens bam,
- 21:32Speaker 1: the show barely started someone spiking the lens. Also, yeah,
- 21:37Speaker 1: go ahead, do you remember what up? Dope? Yeah? What
- 21:42Speaker 1: is that? I don't know where we started, but we
- 21:44Speaker 1: started doing that, and it was one of those things
- 21:46Speaker 1: that we would do to annoy the crew or maybe
- 21:51Speaker 1: even the directors, where we would always be like, who dope?
- 21:58Speaker 1: And you do it in the episode it right here
- 22:01Speaker 1: when I walk in and you say what up? I
- 22:05Speaker 1: laughed when I go gife, when I see the pretty
- 22:11Speaker 1: girl your Homer Simpson. Yeah, it's like it's yeah, it's
- 22:16Speaker 1: exactly like that. It might vo you're here. Um. Also
- 22:22Speaker 1: fat Albert cast, fat Albert cast, Holy cow. Now I
- 22:26Speaker 1: didn't really know. I know what fat Albert is, but
- 22:28Speaker 1: I never watched it. Did you watch it? I grew
- 22:30Speaker 1: up on Fat Albert, fat Albert and the Brown Hornet.
- 22:33Speaker 1: That was the So fat Albert was the show. And
- 22:37Speaker 1: inside of the show fat Albert they would jet to
- 22:40Speaker 1: the clubhouse in the Junkyard to watch the Brown Hornet,
- 22:45Speaker 1: which was another show, but this one's about a superhero. Uh,
- 22:49Speaker 1: And so fat Albert and the gang after they did
- 22:52Speaker 1: like it was like Bill Cosby was like, not only
- 22:54Speaker 1: is fat Albert gonna be a prominent story on The
- 22:58Speaker 1: Fat Albert Show, but we're gonna toroduce another story called
- 23:02Speaker 1: the Brown Hornet, and the Brown Hornet was a superhero. Obviously.
- 23:07Speaker 1: I used to love Fat Albert and the Cosby kids.
- 23:10Speaker 1: What would what would? What would? Know? Cosby would do?
- 23:13Speaker 1: How many of the voices? He did all of them?
- 23:15Speaker 1: I think. I don't know about all of them, but
- 23:17Speaker 1: he did most of them. I don't know if he
- 23:19Speaker 1: did I don't know if he did Rudy, but he
- 23:21Speaker 1: definitely did Fat Albert personation. Bill Cosby definitely did much
- 23:27Speaker 1: mouth mighty folks, me, are you going to me? The bargain,
- 23:31Speaker 1: the base moment, the Bible maybe the biggest basement and
- 23:34Speaker 1: what would happen in an episode of Fat Albert? Like
- 23:37Speaker 1: what was the premise they were just getting through? They
- 23:39Speaker 1: went through? Well, yeah, but it was also let lessons,
- 23:44Speaker 1: uh you know what I mean? You know, regardless of
- 23:48Speaker 1: what people might think of Bill Cosby right now and
- 23:51Speaker 1: how they you know, view him, right we don't talk
- 23:54Speaker 1: about we're not talking about we learned about. But back
- 23:57Speaker 1: in the day, educational wise, he was you know, he
- 24:01Speaker 1: educated a lot of young people. You know, there were
- 24:05Speaker 1: picture pages. There was so many things, so the show
- 24:08Speaker 1: was educational for young absolutely absolutely. I used to love
- 24:13Speaker 1: Bill Cosby. And the one thing was Rudy, if I'm right,
- 24:16Speaker 1: if I'm if I remember correctly, Rudy was the one
- 24:19Speaker 1: that hung out with these guys who had a little
- 24:22Speaker 1: bit of money. Already everybody else's broke except for Rudy.
- 24:25Speaker 1: So when they would go to the Junkyard, there were
- 24:27Speaker 1: a Junkyard band, right, And so when they would cut
- 24:29Speaker 1: to the Junkyard band, Rudy actually had an electric guitar
- 24:32Speaker 1: and he would be jamming with them while everybody else
- 24:34Speaker 1: is playing trash from the Junkyard, right. But were they
- 24:37Speaker 1: good on the trash when they play? Oh yeah, absolutely.
- 24:39Speaker 1: I mean, if you ever listen to Fat Albert, what
- 24:42Speaker 1: did you say? Build a lot of voices, but not all.
- 24:46Speaker 1: If you ever watched Fat Albert, the music was always
- 24:49Speaker 1: on point. It was for me, it was really awesome
- 24:52Speaker 1: to see brown people, to see black people on television
- 24:55Speaker 1: during you know, the Smurfs and and all of these
- 24:58Speaker 1: other shows where it wasn't where you couldn't see that
- 25:01Speaker 1: right exactly. And then they made a movie, a live
- 25:04Speaker 1: action movie with Keenan. Yes, I never saw it. I mean,
- 25:06Speaker 1: I think Keenan's fucking hilarious, But I never said they
- 25:09Speaker 1: had a lot of very talented, very funny, very very
- 25:14Speaker 1: funny people in that movie. Ye, Keenan hilarious. You know,
- 25:18Speaker 1: he was in my film Going in Style, and he
- 25:21Speaker 1: came in in one day and his scene was to
- 25:24Speaker 1: just he's supposed to be, you know, disciplining if you will.
- 25:28Speaker 1: He's a store manager that's caught Morgan Freeman, Michael Kane,
- 25:31Speaker 1: and Alan Arkin shoplifting in his grocery store, and he
- 25:35Speaker 1: came in and just it was so funny the shit
- 25:38Speaker 1: he was doing. And then at a certain point I
- 25:41Speaker 1: had this idea, like, I'll bet if we talk about standings,
- 25:43Speaker 1: I bet if we bring in the stand ins for
- 25:45Speaker 1: these three guys who are so intimidating, when I put
- 25:48Speaker 1: the cameras on Keenan, he'll be even more free to
- 25:51Speaker 1: just go nuts. So I pulled the legends out and
- 25:56Speaker 1: put in their standings. We shot over their shoulders, and
- 25:58Speaker 1: Keenan was just now that he wasn't like you, like
- 26:00Speaker 1: anyone would be intimidated by Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman out.
- 26:02Speaker 1: I don't think he was intimidated by them, but he
- 26:04Speaker 1: definitely doesn't want to hurt their feelings. Intimidated maybe the
- 26:07Speaker 1: wrong word, but you know what I mean. Like I personally,
- 26:09Speaker 1: if I was the actor, would feel way more free
- 26:11Speaker 1: to riff if I'm talking to Morgan Freeman's stand in,
- 26:14Speaker 1: and I'm not, like you know, in my head about it.
- 26:16Speaker 1: And so my point is he came up with the
- 26:18Speaker 1: funniest shit, and I put Keenan is amazing. I've known
- 26:21Speaker 1: him since we were really young. He might have been
- 26:23Speaker 1: a teenager when I was like in my early twenties
- 26:27Speaker 1: and I moved out to Los Angeles and I was
- 26:29Speaker 1: doing Clueless, the television show, and he was doing all that,
- 26:33Speaker 1: and you know, it's it's really interesting when you when
- 26:36Speaker 1: you meet people and then they wound up being on
- 26:39Speaker 1: the one of the funniest shows in the history of shows,
- 26:42Speaker 1: you know what I mean. We've been fortunate enough to
- 26:44Speaker 1: know quite a few people, you know what I mean,
- 26:46Speaker 1: And Keenan's one of those people that you know, when
- 26:49Speaker 1: we were younger, you knew that he was gonna be
- 26:52Speaker 1: I didn't know he was gonna be on Saturnight Live,
- 26:54Speaker 1: but I knew he was always going to be working
- 26:57Speaker 1: in this industry because he was always funny. He's so talented. Yeah,
- 27:01Speaker 1: he's one of those people I just root for. I
- 27:03Speaker 1: love I love that he's done so well and uh,
- 27:06Speaker 1: he fucking kills me on us and he is a
- 27:10Speaker 1: comedic genius. So Sarah Chalk is, uh, I'm I've I've
- 27:22Speaker 1: got an appendicitis and Sarah Chalk is touching my body.
- 27:25Speaker 1: There's there's not that much sexual tension really between us yet.
- 27:29Speaker 1: I'm finding although I do. I do at the end
- 27:31Speaker 1: of the episode reference that you know, I have feelings
- 27:34Speaker 1: for her. But it's interesting that that, Uh it feels
- 27:38Speaker 1: like Bill turned down, like any sexual tension at this point,
- 27:43Speaker 1: you know, he you know, he was gonna have jdgo
- 27:46Speaker 1: date a bunch of other women. But Sarah doesn't seem
- 27:49Speaker 1: sort of jealous that I that you you tell her
- 27:52Speaker 1: that I was, you know, flirting with some girl or
- 27:54Speaker 1: you know that, and then when when she's you know,
- 27:57Speaker 1: examining me and I'm naked, we just go right to
- 27:59Speaker 1: all the jokes of you know, the freezing She is right,
- 28:02Speaker 1: speaking of freezing call, how long did it take to
- 28:04Speaker 1: put that ice makeup on? Du Forever Man? And I
- 28:06Speaker 1: noticed I have two of those in this episode, two
- 28:08Speaker 1: full body makeup things, and they would take like a
- 28:11Speaker 1: half They would take hours and hours to do, and
- 28:14Speaker 1: it would look great. Though, didn't it that it did?
- 28:16Speaker 1: It looked really cool? Is it a great job? And
- 28:18Speaker 1: I think Sarah this came from Sarah genuinely having freezing hands, right,
- 28:21Speaker 1: I wrote that down. She truly has cold hands, if
- 28:24Speaker 1: I remember correctly. Yes, her hands are always freezing. She
- 28:27Speaker 1: runs cold. I don't think her blood reaches her extremities.
- 28:33Speaker 1: I think her hands are like blue. I wouldn't be
- 28:36Speaker 1: you might be right, they might always be blue. They
- 28:39Speaker 1: might always be blue. No, I just remember, I'm sorry.
- 28:42Speaker 1: I just want to say that this is like, you know,
- 28:44Speaker 1: Bill would take things from our real lives, like I'm
- 28:46Speaker 1: sure Donald and I are going out to the club
- 28:48Speaker 1: and Sarah having ice cold hands, Like but when I
- 28:51Speaker 1: when I when I saw this, I was like, I'm
- 28:53Speaker 1: pretty sure, as I remember, Sarah had freezing hands. Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 28:57Speaker 1: This is also the episode where it feels like Bill
- 29:00Speaker 1: realized somewhere along the line that Ken Jenkins is a
- 29:03Speaker 1: comedic genius. Amazing, because now he's starting to really stretch
- 29:07Speaker 1: his comedic skills, and yeah, you're seeing a lot of
- 29:09Speaker 1: funny jokes from Ken throughout the show. Yeah, Ken's got
- 29:13Speaker 1: a big part in this episode, and I thought he
- 29:15Speaker 1: was very, very funny. And I just I didn't recall
- 29:20Speaker 1: Cox's mentor coming in. I didn't remember that storyline at all.
- 29:25Speaker 1: It's the only time I can remember in nine years
- 29:27Speaker 1: where he has a mentor that he's trying to impress.
- 29:30Speaker 1: So much of the show is he's our mentor and
- 29:32Speaker 1: we're all trying to live up to his expectation, right,
- 29:35Speaker 1: And I was struck as we were watching and going, oh,
- 29:37Speaker 1: this is early on and we're seeing someone that he's
- 29:41Speaker 1: so bad and he doesn't we do that fantasy where
- 29:42Speaker 1: he's doing all these gymnastics flips, Yeah, which Johnny probably
- 29:46Speaker 1: could do, although I'm sure that was a stunt double.
- 29:47Speaker 1: But Johnny's the kind of guy like, give me a week,
- 29:50Speaker 1: I got it, and his baseball fields out there doing flips. Right.
- 29:57Speaker 1: He actually wears a baseball jersey in this episode for
- 30:01Speaker 1: the whole episode. What is that jersey? Did you know?
- 30:03Speaker 1: I have no idea. That's a question we should ask
- 30:05Speaker 1: Bill right now, Bill, what is that jersey? Joe? Well,
- 30:08Speaker 1: can you ask Uncle Bill what the heck was the
- 30:11Speaker 1: thinking behind the random baseball jersey that Johnny C wars
- 30:16Speaker 1: throughout this episode. Man, I don't know what that jersey was.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Johnny C changed his jerseys all the time. He rarely
- 30:23Speaker 1: asked permission. It was always for some athlete or team
- 30:27Speaker 1: that he liked. For it was Jeremy Shockey for a second,
- 30:30Speaker 1: and then it was Chris Chelios, who I believe is
- 30:33Speaker 1: a close friend of his. But I just kind of
- 30:35Speaker 1: let Johnny own his character. And I'm calling him Johnny
- 30:38Speaker 1: because he calls me Billy. I think it's turnabouts fair play.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Very interesting. Also, you know, Bill tells a story about
- 30:44Speaker 1: how the show is written about him and his best
- 30:48Speaker 1: friend and how he thought it would be one of
- 30:51Speaker 1: the most scariest experiences of his life, waking up from
- 30:55Speaker 1: surgery and his best friend standing over him, who heats,
- 31:00Speaker 1: you know, drank beers and has blacked out, has gotten
- 31:03Speaker 1: blacked out drunk with Yeah, it's now coming to fruition
- 31:06Speaker 1: right right now? You know, you're right? Yeah? He always
- 31:09Speaker 1: he always mentioned that, and so it didn't take him
- 31:11Speaker 1: long to make that a storyline, which leads to probably
- 31:14Speaker 1: one of the greatest exchanges in Scrub's history that's in
- 31:17Speaker 1: this episode, which is should we recreate it for everybody?
- 31:20Speaker 1: I get to cut, I do that, you tell me
- 31:25Speaker 1: what it is? So at nineteen fifty five, I want
- 31:28Speaker 1: you inside of me. I want to be the one
- 31:32Speaker 1: inside I want to be the one inside of you.
- 31:34Speaker 1: If I ever have surgery again, I want you to
- 31:37Speaker 1: be the one inside of me. I want to be
- 31:39Speaker 1: the one inside of me, and which leads to which
- 31:47Speaker 1: leads to He's the only one who's ever been inside
- 31:51Speaker 1: of me. But by the way, the funniest part of that, dude,
- 31:55Speaker 1: is that the geniusness of keeping that fat Albert fat
- 31:58Speaker 1: Albert runner going. And then it cuts to them and
- 32:00Speaker 1: you're in there and everyone's laughing, and then they stopped cold.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Right pause, Yeah, like, what what did you say? That
- 32:08Speaker 1: was really clever to then go to a third time
- 32:11Speaker 1: to the fat Albert cast and have everyone just be
- 32:13Speaker 1: laughing and then stop. Randall Winston plays the one with
- 32:17Speaker 1: the giant mask on his face. Oh really, that's who
- 32:23Speaker 1: was our one of our producers who we told you
- 32:24Speaker 1: always played death because he was very tall. And there
- 32:27Speaker 1: he is showing up again as one of the fact
- 32:30Speaker 1: would you remember that character's name mc cosby kids. Oh man,
- 32:33Speaker 1: it was yuckmouth, Rudy Russell, Bill, dumb Donald, which was
- 32:39Speaker 1: the I hated that character. People did people call you
- 32:41Speaker 1: dum Donald's thank goodness note, But there was dumb Donald, Bucky,
- 32:46Speaker 1: weird Harold, something like that. Weird Harold. Yes, Oh, Joel's
- 32:51Speaker 1: pointing at you, weird Harold. I remember? Weird? Yes, is
- 32:56Speaker 1: the guy who wears the mask. Yes. Was it ever
- 32:58Speaker 1: explained why he wears a mask? No, it might have been.
- 33:01Speaker 1: I don't remember. We'd have to go back and look
- 33:03Speaker 1: at it at that show. Okay, but uh yeah, that's
- 33:06Speaker 1: who is it? Weird Harold? Am I right? So dum
- 33:09Speaker 1: Donald is the one with the hat. Weird Harold is
- 33:11Speaker 1: a super tall one with the curly hair. Oh okay,
- 33:15Speaker 1: So dumb Donald's the one with the mask. Yeah, yeah,
- 33:17Speaker 1: with the hat mask that's pulled down over his eyes.
- 33:20Speaker 1: That's dumb. Maybe I did like dumb Donald because that
- 33:22Speaker 1: was also very He sounds like an he talk about this.
- 33:25Speaker 1: I could would like to see you. I bet everyone
- 33:28Speaker 1: would like to see you do a fat Alburt episode.
- 33:30Speaker 1: I auditioned for the audition for the Fat Albert movie.
- 33:33Speaker 1: I wanted to be Rude. Everybody wanted to be Rudy.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Everybody wanted to be Rudy. Who got it? I forgot
- 33:38Speaker 1: who got that? Do you? We could look that up? Okay, God,
- 33:41Speaker 1: we're giving Joelle a lot of assignments today, Joel. In
- 33:44Speaker 1: the live action movie that wheelchair wheelie, I thought to myself,
- 33:49Speaker 1: is Donald really doing that? Because it was impressive. I
- 33:51Speaker 1: don't think you did. I didn't, well, I was. I
- 33:54Speaker 1: was asking myself because it was pretty impressive. You held
- 33:57Speaker 1: it a long time and then when it falls over
- 34:00Speaker 1: six fifty five you can see sort of training wheel
- 34:02Speaker 1: things on the wheelchair. I love how you're like, I
- 34:06Speaker 1: did do it? If you pause, if you pause it
- 34:12Speaker 1: like it, I know you don't remember. But if you
- 34:14Speaker 1: pause it like six fifty five, which I did, um,
- 34:16Speaker 1: you can see like on there there's like these like
- 34:18Speaker 1: stuntman special wheels, so you had training wheels full that's crazy.
- 34:23Speaker 1: Rudy was played by shed Rack Anderson the third Okay,
- 34:28Speaker 1: that's in the live action movie. I don't think that's real.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Donald Donald's questioning, you're I don't know he was. Also,
- 34:36Speaker 1: I know. The guy that played Rudy was also in
- 34:39Speaker 1: dream Girls. Well, Joel see if sheed Rack Anderson the
- 34:42Speaker 1: third was in dream Girls. So this is according to
- 34:45Speaker 1: IMDb two thousand and four Live action Rudy if Sen
- 34:49Speaker 1: Jack old Rudy. Did they see some of these guys
- 34:51Speaker 1: have Oh that might have been young Rudy or something.
- 34:54Speaker 1: Just go to dream Girls. Dude who was in dream
- 34:57Speaker 1: Girls played Rudy. I'm pretty sure of it. That was
- 35:00Speaker 1: always with Jamie Fox. Okay, give me two seconds to anyway.
- 35:05Speaker 1: So Donald is six fifty seven when I'm watching the
- 35:08Speaker 1: TV in my hospital room, right before the janitor takes
- 35:11Speaker 1: it away. That's I'm doing all the voices in that
- 35:14Speaker 1: TV show, right. No, I did a couple of them too.
- 35:16Speaker 1: It's Jerry Springer cut I cut you man that you
- 35:20Speaker 1: didn't want to. You did that, I'll cut you. I'm
- 35:22Speaker 1: I'm the dude, that's the boyfriend. I played the boyfriend. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 35:28Speaker 1: I didn't know as both of us. I thought it
- 35:29Speaker 1: was just me. No, yeah, am I the man or
- 35:31Speaker 1: the woman? I don't even remember you're you're the woman?
- 35:33Speaker 1: I cut you. I don't cut you. Yea. Now we
- 35:40Speaker 1: should have been a funny runner that whenever there was
- 35:42Speaker 1: a TV show on and you didn't see it. It
- 35:44Speaker 1: was our voices. I think that maybe the only time
- 35:46Speaker 1: we did it well Danny. That was one thing Danny
- 35:49Speaker 1: would do. He would be like, you guys, wanna you wanna.
- 35:52Speaker 1: He would even let me hear what you did, so
- 35:55Speaker 1: I knew everything that you were gonna say, and then
- 35:57Speaker 1: I said something to match what you Probably very first
- 36:00Speaker 1: season we were just so excited to do anything where
- 36:03Speaker 1: it was just like, please know, Danny, I don't want
- 36:05Speaker 1: to please. We gotta go home. Yeah, but season one
- 36:08Speaker 1: we're like, do you need me to do any other voices?
- 36:11Speaker 1: I could do the TV voices speaking of late night
- 36:16Speaker 1: sketch shows. Yeah, Michael McDonald, Yeah, this is on this
- 36:20Speaker 1: episode from Mad TV. He went on to direct episodes
- 36:23Speaker 1: for Scrubs, Yes, he did, and he came back as
- 36:25Speaker 1: that character again. Yes, and I thought this was the
- 36:28Speaker 1: one where he was going to say his most famous line,
- 36:30Speaker 1: I broke my penis, right, But it wasn't that. No,
- 36:34Speaker 1: it wasn't that. When this is the introduction for that character.
- 36:37Speaker 1: He's very funny and I'm very sweet man. By the way,
- 36:40Speaker 1: what's the what's the you know what I mean? Karen
- 36:42Speaker 1: is anyone keeping track had ruined the drinking game for people.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Have I said it today? I'm sorry, you know what
- 36:49Speaker 1: I'm saying. I mean, you know what I'm saying. I mean,
- 36:51Speaker 1: I remember when you came into work one day, you like,
- 36:53Speaker 1: you know what the new thing, Like Donald would always
- 36:54Speaker 1: tell me, like what you know, I'm just like, you
- 36:56Speaker 1: know what I'm saying has always been gone. No, But dude,
- 36:58Speaker 1: I remember when you came in one day and you
- 37:00Speaker 1: were like because Donald would always keep me in breast
- 37:02Speaker 1: of like, you know, the new the new cool, saying
- 37:05Speaker 1: the new slang. Yeah, and he'd be like, you know
- 37:07Speaker 1: what the new thing is. That's what's up. That's what's up,
- 37:11Speaker 1: and that's what's up. Dude. I remember you coming in
- 37:15Speaker 1: me like you were like giving your nerdy white friend
- 37:17Speaker 1: an insider info. You're like, hey, just you know, like
- 37:20Speaker 1: with like with your hand over your mouth, like don't
- 37:21Speaker 1: tell anyone, but the new thing is. That's what's up.
- 37:25Speaker 1: And you to this day you say that's what's up
- 37:26Speaker 1: all the time, all the time. That's what's up? Is
- 37:29Speaker 1: is the that is what is up? You use it
- 37:33Speaker 1: like for everything. It's like you know, you know how
- 37:35Speaker 1: like in in the Smurfs, they'd be like, I smurfed him,
- 37:37Speaker 1: Papa Smurf. Donald. It's like a universal expression. You'd be like,
- 37:42Speaker 1: Donald'll be like, how you doing. I'm like, I'm great, man,
- 37:43Speaker 1: I'm just feeling good. Just did a big workout. That's
- 37:46Speaker 1: what's up, because that is what's up. Yeah, and you're like, hey, man,
- 37:50Speaker 1: what are you doing? You want to go out to
- 37:50Speaker 1: the nry. Yeah, let's do it. That's what's up. That's
- 37:52Speaker 1: what's up. Keeping one hundred. That's what's up. That's what's
- 37:58Speaker 1: up keeping one hundred replaced keep it real. So I'm
- 38:01Speaker 1: just looking at what Joel said. The guy from dream
- 38:03Speaker 1: Girls was Keith Robinson and yes Bill, Yes Keith, and
- 38:08Speaker 1: he played Bill Ah he played Bill. So then who
- 38:10Speaker 1: played Rudy? Oh you already said it? Shod dreck Anderson
- 38:13Speaker 1: the third Come on, try and keep up, Donald, that's
- 38:15Speaker 1: what's up. That's what's up. You know what I mean? Well,
- 38:19Speaker 1: you can't drink. You don't drink. If I say it,
- 38:21Speaker 1: everybody Jack said that, not me. Yeah. So A twenty
- 38:24Speaker 1: three is the second full body makeup thing, full bronze, gold, bronze,
- 38:29Speaker 1: all bronze. I believe. Yeah, that took. That took some times.
- 38:32Speaker 1: You can imagine getting your full body bronze. Well you
- 38:35Speaker 1: didn't have any whole body. Well you still look skinny. Man.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Well they didn't do like my penis, but they put
- 38:41Speaker 1: on like a you know, banana hammock, bronze behinna hammock.
- 38:44Speaker 1: They had to do everything. For those of you who
- 38:46Speaker 1: can't see Zach Braff right now, my buddy works out
- 38:50Speaker 1: every day, he eats healthy. He has someone making him
- 38:55Speaker 1: meals right now. Wow, you make it sound like a Well,
- 38:57Speaker 1: I do have a chef, but it's my girlfriend. It's
- 38:59Speaker 1: not like I've hired chef. I have an amazing I
- 39:00Speaker 1: didn't say. I wasn't going to get into all of that.
- 39:03Speaker 1: I wasn't going to get into any of that. All
- 39:05Speaker 1: I was saying, are you are you looking at my
- 39:07Speaker 1: muscles right now? Aren't you? Yeah? I have something embarrassed.
- 39:10Speaker 1: I have something embarrassing to say, though, So I bought this.
- 39:12Speaker 1: This is a black Widow tank top. Nice have you
- 39:16Speaker 1: seen black Widow yet? I can't comment on that, but this,
- 39:19Speaker 1: this is a black Widow tank top with with Lena
- 39:23Speaker 1: on it. And I thought it would be fun to
- 39:24Speaker 1: order it and oh, so her character's name is Jelena. Yeah,
- 39:28Speaker 1: I think that's public a better of you. We got
- 39:31Speaker 1: to edit it out. Joel's not having Joe. Are you
- 39:35Speaker 1: sure about that? It's Jelena, Joel's yeah, we might have
- 39:39Speaker 1: an exclusive. Disney's gonna be pissed. No, so it's marble,
- 39:44Speaker 1: but Disney's gonna be pissed. No, No, it's public, it's public.
- 39:47Speaker 1: But anyway, so I ordered this tank top because I
- 39:49Speaker 1: thought it would be funny and cute, and and it
- 39:52Speaker 1: came as a it's a women's medium, and know what
- 39:57Speaker 1: arrived is a women's like medium or large. And it's
- 40:02Speaker 1: my point is, you might think I look particularly muscular today,
- 40:04Speaker 1: it's because I'm wearing a women's medium tank. It doesn't
- 40:11Speaker 1: look like it's a medium for a woman. It looks like,
- 40:15Speaker 1: let me look, let me look, let me look. It's
- 40:18Speaker 1: a women's large. It's a women's large. Okay, there we go.
- 40:20Speaker 1: But it has a female cut. You see that, Like
- 40:22Speaker 1: they don't cut men's tank tops like this. They don't know,
- 40:25Speaker 1: but anyway, it's it's all. It's all they had. So, well,
- 40:27Speaker 1: you look good your work out every day. And Joel
- 40:31Speaker 1: just said that it is public, so don't get me
- 40:33Speaker 1: in trouble. Okay, So what's her name again? The only
- 40:35Speaker 1: exclusive that you're not getting, which isn't exclusive, is her
- 40:38Speaker 1: character's name is Yelena. Let's move on, Move on. Carla
- 40:43Speaker 1: had a funny ass line. You know, we were just
- 40:45Speaker 1: talking when Judy was on about how if she didn't
- 40:46Speaker 1: always get jokes, but I laughed out loud at nine
- 40:49Speaker 1: minutes when she goes, you don't want one hundred pound
- 40:51Speaker 1: white girl mad at you. You'll flinch every time you
- 40:54Speaker 1: hear a range Rover. That was funny. Yeah, it was.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Now when JD says, do they celebrate Thanksgiving in your homeland?
- 41:03Speaker 1: Do we do? We believe that JD, who's gone to
- 41:07Speaker 1: med school and is very intelligent, is he just playing
- 41:10Speaker 1: a joke or does he seriously not understand that? I
- 41:13Speaker 1: think he's from that did Carlos from Chicago? I think
- 41:17Speaker 1: he's being funny, trying to make her laugh, Yeah, trying
- 41:20Speaker 1: to make her laugh and then realize that he said
- 41:22Speaker 1: a really bad joke because his response, or maybe he's
- 41:25Speaker 1: asking the Dominican republic, is that? What is that? What
- 41:28Speaker 1: it is? Well? Yeah, she to her character is Dominican. Yeah,
- 41:31Speaker 1: I know, But do you think the character of JD
- 41:33Speaker 1: is trying to be funny or is he saying to
- 41:35Speaker 1: people in Dominican Republican celebrate Thanksgiving? Maybe maybe maybe can
- 41:40Speaker 1: we talk about how amazing you're moonwalking is? At nine
- 41:42Speaker 1: twenty five when you when you sing, I get to
- 41:44Speaker 1: cut you open? You know, I worked really hard on
- 41:48Speaker 1: moonwalking as a youth after I saw Michael Jackson do
- 41:50Speaker 1: it right, very very very don't you learn to do that?
- 41:53Speaker 1: Fucking hell? It's so good. You can't moonwalk. I can
- 41:56Speaker 1: do a little bit of backwards, but it doesn't look
- 41:58Speaker 1: like what you're doing it. You can go side to
- 42:00Speaker 1: side to side, dude, is it's still moonwalking if you're
- 42:02Speaker 1: going all around and moving forward? And absolutely it's a
- 42:05Speaker 1: moonwalk as long as you're moving backwards, like in a
- 42:08Speaker 1: backwards direction. Even if it's side to side, it's moonwalking.
- 42:12Speaker 1: And when you're walking in place that's considered moonwalking. Michael Jackson,
- 42:16Speaker 1: sorry for this stupid question, but did Michael Jackson really
- 42:18Speaker 1: invent the moonwalk? No, it was around way before Michael Jackson.
- 42:22Speaker 1: He feel like a tap dancwer. I feel like a
- 42:24Speaker 1: tap dancer created the moonwalk and Michael Jackson just bit
- 42:27Speaker 1: off of it. No, no, so Michael Jackson just made
- 42:30Speaker 1: it famous then probably right, Yeah, well yeah Motown twenty
- 42:34Speaker 1: five and he busts into boom Dude dom d I
- 42:42Speaker 1: literally literally give me dud dud do Right. If you
- 42:50Speaker 1: were a breakdancer, you knew how to moon walk. I
- 42:52Speaker 1: think I saw Breaking the movie in the theater. I
- 42:54Speaker 1: mean it was it was Breaking was such a popular.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Breaking was the West Coast version of dancing, and then
- 43:00Speaker 1: the East Coast version of breakdancing was Beach Street Street.
- 43:07Speaker 1: Never saw a Beach Street. Beach Street, You never saw
- 43:10Speaker 1: a Beach Street. No, but I remember Steady Crew. All
- 43:13Speaker 1: these people were in that bad Boy. It was like
- 43:16Speaker 1: all of the East Coast. Yeah, Breaking the movie was
- 43:20Speaker 1: that the West Coast. I love that movie. Then you
- 43:23Speaker 1: remember some of the characters, Ozone, Turbot, Kelly. I just
- 43:29Speaker 1: thought these people were so cool when I was a kid.
- 43:31Speaker 1: This was nineteen eighty four. This looks like it came
- 43:33Speaker 1: out and then they and then they did a sequel,
- 43:35Speaker 1: Electric Boogaloo. Yeah, Breaking too, the Electric Buogaloo. And that's
- 43:40Speaker 1: when they're trying to save the school. They're trying to
- 43:41Speaker 1: save the school. If you're a young person listening to this,
- 43:44Speaker 1: just know that breakdancing was still popular, that they were
- 43:46Speaker 1: making breakdancing movies back in the day. And Turbo gets
- 43:49Speaker 1: hurt and the barns up in the hospital. Are we
- 43:52Speaker 1: gonna take a break? Bo, We're gonna, We're gonna, We're
- 43:54Speaker 1: gonna moon walk into a break here. Hey, Joe, I'll
- 44:06Speaker 1: give him his Oprah intro. Come on, ladies and gentlemen,
- 44:09Speaker 1: give it up for Joe Moody. What's going on, guys,
- 44:16Speaker 1: New York? Joe, Yeah, I'm staying albody. He's from Albany.
- 44:21Speaker 1: You get a car, You get a car, You get
- 44:24Speaker 1: a car, Joe. Welcome to fake doctors, real friends. We
- 44:28Speaker 1: are the fake doctors, real friends. I'm sorry I'm wearing
- 44:30Speaker 1: a female tank top, but that's just what's happening. He
- 44:33Speaker 1: looks good. Look at the arms. Show him to arms man. Well, Joe,
- 44:35Speaker 1: these arms aren't usually this big, but when you wear
- 44:38Speaker 1: a woman's tank top you tend to look a little
- 44:40Speaker 1: bit larger. You look great as always, there, Zach, Thank you, sir,
- 44:44Speaker 1: thank you, Welcome, Welcome aboard. Um. Do you have any
- 44:47Speaker 1: questions for the legendary Donald Phazon. I's want to say
- 44:51Speaker 1: first of all that this is honestly a dream come true.
- 44:53Speaker 1: Him a giant stand of the show, and uh, you
- 44:56Speaker 1: can't thank you guys enough for having me on. Thank
- 44:58Speaker 1: you so much, have you. We're just happy to be
- 44:59Speaker 1: doing it, man, we you know people, It's funny. On
- 45:02Speaker 1: social media. People are are loving it and saying thank
- 45:05Speaker 1: you to Donald and I for doing this so much,
- 45:06Speaker 1: whereas Donald and I are like, thank you for having
- 45:09Speaker 1: any interest at all because we're both so bored in quarantine.
- 45:12Speaker 1: The fact that we get to sit around and joke
- 45:14Speaker 1: with each other twice a week, and the fact that
- 45:16Speaker 1: anyone is listening beyond our moms is amazing. So where
- 45:19Speaker 1: doesn't listen to the show? Sorry, beyond my mom my
- 45:22Speaker 1: mom My mom texts me after every episode, and it's
- 45:26Speaker 1: more interest than in any other thing I've ever done.
- 45:29Speaker 1: My mom My mom like text me like, oh my god,
- 45:31Speaker 1: I loved how Johnny C was calling you Zachie and
- 45:34Speaker 1: Donald was so funny today and I get I get
- 45:36Speaker 1: notes from my mom. I'm sorry, go ahead, buddy, all right.
- 45:40Speaker 1: So first question is when Colin Farrell was on the show,
- 45:45Speaker 1: he turned the hospital into just a thirst frenzy did
- 45:49Speaker 1: the same thing happen on set, and who was the
- 45:52Speaker 1: thirstiest for it? Sarah? Sarah was definitely No. Judy might
- 45:56Speaker 1: have been really thirsty. Sarah was riled up. I mean
- 46:02Speaker 1: I remember, I remember being jealous actually, to be honest
- 46:04Speaker 1: that I mean, I know, Colin Farrell's Colin Farrell and everything,
- 46:07Speaker 1: and he's a very handsome man. But I was hoping, alright, alright,
- 46:09Speaker 1: I was like, Sarah, bring it down, Let's bring it
- 46:11Speaker 1: down a little bit. Yeah, I mean, I think all
- 46:17Speaker 1: the women were giddy. He's a very very handsome man
- 46:19Speaker 1: and charming and so charming, and Colin, you know, is
- 46:23Speaker 1: a huge movie stars still at the time, it was
- 46:26Speaker 1: like the height of his explosion. So the fact that
- 46:29Speaker 1: he did it, I think he was probably one of
- 46:30Speaker 1: the biggest stars we ever had on the show. And
- 46:32Speaker 1: I remember just just as a shout out to Colin.
- 46:35Speaker 1: I remember at the time, uh, you know, we gave
- 46:38Speaker 1: him a chunk of money to be on the show
- 46:39Speaker 1: and he gave it all to his charity, um as
- 46:42Speaker 1: another testament to his character of being a good man.
- 46:47Speaker 1: But no, everyone, everyone including Donald and I were were
- 46:49Speaker 1: a little giddy that Colin was visiting. Hard to blame you, honestly, no,
- 46:53Speaker 1: I mean, come on, do you have another question of
- 46:56Speaker 1: another question you could ask? You ask a few if
- 46:58Speaker 1: they're you know, bad questions will just edited out, don't. Yeah.
- 47:05Speaker 1: So my second question kind of pertains towards Sarah's character
- 47:09Speaker 1: Elliott as well. So Elliott is in my personal pantheon
- 47:13Speaker 1: of like all time TV crushes growing up I was
- 47:15Speaker 1: I was probably like thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, when you know,
- 47:18Speaker 1: the show was really going. So I was wondering, who,
- 47:21Speaker 1: in your minds is in your pantheon crushes. I've got
- 47:26Speaker 1: a couple. I've got a few of them, okay, and
- 47:28Speaker 1: I'll yeah start Lark Vorhees from Saved by the Bell.
- 47:33Speaker 1: She played Lisa Turtle Holy Cow. When I was a kid,
- 47:37Speaker 1: I was so in love with her. I also was
- 47:41Speaker 1: so in love with Jada Pickett Smith on when she
- 47:46Speaker 1: was on a Different World. Oh my gosh. You couldn't
- 47:50Speaker 1: tell me nothing bad about Jada Pickett before she became
- 47:54Speaker 1: Will Smith's wife. Oh my gosh. Oh and still to
- 47:58Speaker 1: this day she's still right. Who else? Of course, Carrie Fisher,
- 48:03Speaker 1: Princess Leia. Right. He did kind of say TV shows,
- 48:07Speaker 1: but from TV I mean because I was gonna say,
- 48:10Speaker 1: I was gonna say, Lisia Silverstone is the first that
- 48:12Speaker 1: came to my mind. But that's technically a film. But
- 48:14Speaker 1: you don't mind if we go film. You just mean
- 48:17Speaker 1: our our youth crushes. Yes, I mean I opened the
- 48:19Speaker 1: rabbit hole. You guys feel free to jump right in. Well,
- 48:22Speaker 1: those are my three, Those are my three. My first
- 48:24Speaker 1: was was Susanne Summers on Three's Company. Now, when I
- 48:28Speaker 1: was a little boy watching Susanne Summers on Three's Company,
- 48:30Speaker 1: she was doing things to me that I didn't I
- 48:32Speaker 1: didn't know what was happening to me. And we were
- 48:35Speaker 1: a religious family. And I sat down at the shabbat.
- 48:38Speaker 1: We would have Shabbat dinner on Friday nights. And I
- 48:40Speaker 1: was eight years old and I sat down at the
- 48:41Speaker 1: Shabbat dinner and I raised my hand because my dad
- 48:45Speaker 1: was quite stern when it came to Shabbat dinner, and
- 48:47Speaker 1: he said, go ahead, Zach, And I said, Dad, why
- 48:50Speaker 1: does my penis get hard? When I look at Chrissy
- 48:53Speaker 1: from Three's Company. I had no idea that it was
- 49:05Speaker 1: anything inappropriate to bring up at Shabbat dinner. You can
- 49:09Speaker 1: dismiss from the table. No, my father. Instantly everyone died.
- 49:13Speaker 1: I started dying, laughing as you would. It was the
- 49:15Speaker 1: fine I mean, I really you know, I didn't know
- 49:16Speaker 1: what it was. I was like, genuinely, hello, father, I
- 49:19Speaker 1: have a question. I'm having a physical reaction to Chrissie
- 49:23Speaker 1: from Three's Company, and I would like everyone at the
- 49:26Speaker 1: table to weigh in on what it might be. My
- 49:33Speaker 1: whole life, my whole life. Everyone in my family has
- 49:36Speaker 1: joked about that story. The other the other idea, the
- 49:39Speaker 1: other one that came to my mind right away when
- 49:41Speaker 1: you said it was Nicole Eggert on Charles in Charge. Yes, absolutely,
- 49:44Speaker 1: that was another one. Yes, Nicole Eggert On Charles and
- 49:47Speaker 1: Milano Elizamlano of course. Also Joe from Facts of Life.
- 49:52Speaker 1: I had a weird thing. You were Tutti. You know
- 49:55Speaker 1: a lot of people are you know, are Blair or Tutti?
- 49:58Speaker 1: I was a Joe guy interesting, but Nicole Eggert was
- 50:02Speaker 1: just I remember thinking like, what are these feelings? What
- 50:07Speaker 1: are these feelings? Also Linda Carter and Wonder Woman, there
- 50:12Speaker 1: was a special episode She's spun around once and she'd
- 50:14Speaker 1: be regular Wonder Woman. There was a special episode or
- 50:16Speaker 1: two where she would spin around a second time and
- 50:19Speaker 1: she'd be in a bathing suit, a wonder Woman bathing suit.
- 50:22Speaker 1: Well she would spin around again and then she'd have
- 50:24Speaker 1: the bike outfit. Or oh I didn't I guess I
- 50:27Speaker 1: didn't watch all the episodes. I didn't know. How do
- 50:29Speaker 1: you think she could tell her her magic like, hey,
- 50:31Speaker 1: I need bike outfit? Hey I need I think it's
- 50:34Speaker 1: just a power that that wonder Woman has where she
- 50:37Speaker 1: you know, she says this is the situation. Really gear up,
- 50:41Speaker 1: all right, So you're saying she's when she's spinning, she's
- 50:44Speaker 1: telling her her magical powers. I need the regular outfit,
- 50:47Speaker 1: or I need cyclist wonder woman, or I need bathing
- 50:50Speaker 1: suit wonder I don't even think she has to tell
- 50:51Speaker 1: her power that. I think it doesn't automat power just
- 50:54Speaker 1: knows this is the situation. We're about to go swimming.
- 50:56Speaker 1: You don't need the cyclist uniform, right all right? I know, Hey,
- 51:00Speaker 1: one more question, one more question. Okay, I was gonna say,
- 51:03Speaker 1: that reminds me of quick change from the NBA halftime show.
- 51:06Speaker 1: Is Donald you might you might catch that one. I
- 51:08Speaker 1: don't know what that is. What what do you mean
- 51:10Speaker 1: by quick change? It's a halftime show. This person just
- 51:13Speaker 1: like puts a robe up, puts down different outfit, rope
- 51:16Speaker 1: down outfit. Yeah right where it's like one of those
- 51:19Speaker 1: pull off things, right, yeah, exactly. Do you have another question,
- 51:22Speaker 1: Joe Money? You stump Donald an NBA trivia? I just
- 51:25Speaker 1: I don't go to I haven't been to a lot
- 51:27Speaker 1: of games in a while. There's a Chicago Bulls documentary
- 51:29Speaker 1: going on. Are you watching that? Donald? I am watching it.
- 51:32Speaker 1: I don't know, listen shaking his head furious. I'm gonna
- 51:36Speaker 1: tell you something. I think everybody's watching it because, first
- 51:38Speaker 1: of all, when I was a kid, Michael Jordan. I
- 51:40Speaker 1: think everybody can speak for how magical Michael. And you
- 51:44Speaker 1: know there's magic Johnson, but then there was Michael Jordan's right.
- 51:47Speaker 1: I think for me he was my idol growing up.
- 51:50Speaker 1: You know what I mean. You could say we could
- 51:51Speaker 1: talk Denzel, we could talk Harrison Ford, but you know,
- 51:55Speaker 1: the one that did it for real, for every male
- 52:00Speaker 1: in America, maybe even the world, was Michael Jordan's right.
- 52:04Speaker 1: That's that was done right, like the basketball, the competitive spirit,
- 52:09Speaker 1: the IQ to be able to turn all of that
- 52:11Speaker 1: into money as well, Like just like Michael Jordan was
- 52:14Speaker 1: everybody's hero, every young male's hero. That and also he
- 52:19Speaker 1: made having a bald head cool. There were a bunch
- 52:21Speaker 1: of people with bald heads before that. There was Cojack,
- 52:24Speaker 1: there was lu Goss Jr. Mister Clean, well yeah, mister clean.
- 52:28Speaker 1: There were a bunch of people who had bald heads
- 52:30Speaker 1: before Michael Jordan's. It wasn't until Michael Jordan that people
- 52:33Speaker 1: with hair were like, you know what, I'm shaving this
- 52:35Speaker 1: bad boy. So he's an inspiration head. Well yeah, because
- 52:40Speaker 1: he made it cool to be a baldy, to have
- 52:42Speaker 1: a bald head. You know. There was a movie back
- 52:43Speaker 1: in the day called The Wanderers and the bad guys
- 52:46Speaker 1: in the movie were called baldy's And that sucked, dude.
- 52:51Speaker 1: It sucked to you know when when if you didn't
- 52:54Speaker 1: like the way your hairline was, you had to live
- 52:56Speaker 1: with that. But then you were trying to spray on stuff.
- 52:59Speaker 1: By the way, now, man, no, no, because when I
- 53:01Speaker 1: saw those informercials, I rocked up. I'm gonna get you
- 53:05Speaker 1: something for Hunter. I've never died my head, you know
- 53:07Speaker 1: what I did? You know what, I take it back. Recently,
- 53:11Speaker 1: I was doing this show and I was putting the
- 53:15Speaker 1: dust right, not to spray the dust that people use.
- 53:22Speaker 1: And I was doing an interview for US Weekly and
- 53:26Speaker 1: one of the co stars from my show, who was
- 53:28Speaker 1: very who's very young, she must have been thirteen or
- 53:31Speaker 1: fourteen at the time. She goes, you know, look at
- 53:35Speaker 1: Donald's hair and look at how much hair he has.
- 53:37Speaker 1: I've got a secret to tell. I didn't know that
- 53:41Speaker 1: that was dust. I put my hand on his head
- 53:44Speaker 1: and I pulled it away and I had a bunch
- 53:46Speaker 1: of like dust on my hand. To US Weekly, Oh
- 53:50Speaker 1: my god, did they print that? It made it to
- 53:53Speaker 1: it made it? But thank goodness, it didn't go viral.
- 53:57Speaker 1: I fell to the floor laughing. So I've never been
- 54:01Speaker 1: more embarrassed in my life. So from that moment on,
- 54:03Speaker 1: I was like, I'll never use the dust again. I'm
- 54:04Speaker 1: never using the dust. Ron Papel I think that was
- 54:07Speaker 1: his name. He had a spray on hair. Remember there
- 54:09Speaker 1: was an infomercial. Yeah, it was in The Fabulous Baker
- 54:11Speaker 1: Boys too. All right, man, Well, thank you for your questions.
- 54:14Speaker 1: You to take a trip down memory lane for our crushes.
- 54:19Speaker 1: We digress again. You guys having me, Thanks, thank you,
- 54:23Speaker 1: thank you so much, and thanks for listening and uh
- 54:26Speaker 1: and and thanks for being a fan of the show.
- 54:27Speaker 1: We really genuinely appreciate it. Ladies and gentlemen, give it
- 54:30Speaker 1: up for Joe Moody thunder support. Thank good. Um, let's
- 54:43Speaker 1: get back into the episode. Um. You know, at eleven
- 54:46Speaker 1: o five, I kind of we kind of touched on this,
- 54:47Speaker 1: but I thought it was a rare moment of Kelso
- 54:49Speaker 1: actually practicing medicine. You never saw Kelso. I mean, can
- 54:53Speaker 1: you think of another time. I'm sure there are, but
- 54:54Speaker 1: I mean, for me, I'm surprised that he's actually working
- 54:57Speaker 1: on a patient. It's nothing you ever saw. Yeah, you know,
- 55:00Speaker 1: I was discussing that earlier, the episode where we all
- 55:04Speaker 1: lose a patient. Kelso's practicing medicine in that episode as well,
- 55:08Speaker 1: and I touched on it. In that episode. Whenever there
- 55:11Speaker 1: was death in the hospital, when whenever the hospital, when
- 55:16Speaker 1: whenever we were as characters against the odds of what
- 55:21Speaker 1: the hospital could do to it the patients, Kelso was
- 55:24Speaker 1: practicing medicine. Kelso's one of the heroes other than that
- 55:27Speaker 1: he is the obstacle. Yeah, yeah, well that was kind
- 55:30Speaker 1: of cool. You know, I didn't had much memory of
- 55:32Speaker 1: Kelso actually saving a patient. And it'll happen again when
- 55:36Speaker 1: Dick Van Dyke's on the show as well. That's right,
- 55:39Speaker 1: fourteen seventeen. I laughed out loud when you go, baby,
- 55:43Speaker 1: I was being a walrus. Yeah, and then we call
- 55:47Speaker 1: right back to that joke. We call the joke right back, right,
- 55:50Speaker 1: we call it back right away. See if you can
- 55:52Speaker 1: name this film? Ready made me think of this breakfast
- 55:55Speaker 1: club before you even do it. Come on, man, you're
- 55:57Speaker 1: ruining it for the fans. The fans know what the
- 56:00Speaker 1: breakfast club is. No, but they might have wanted a
- 56:02Speaker 1: little bit of a trivia game. Do it, do it,
- 56:05Speaker 1: do it now, and then I'll pretend that I didn't know.
- 56:07Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't want to edit your fuck up.
- 56:10Speaker 1: It's not it's me knowing you as well as I
- 56:15Speaker 1: know you that you're gonna do. Yeah, you know, it's
- 56:18Speaker 1: like a married couple who's like, I've heard this story
- 56:21Speaker 1: a zillion times. He's gonna do Anthony Michael Holland breakfast club,
- 56:25Speaker 1: fucking asshole. Listen. Imagine you're listening to this and you're
- 56:28Speaker 1: on your hike, or you're on your treadmill, or you're
- 56:31Speaker 1: walking your dog or you're breastfeeding your kid, and you go, ooh,
- 56:34Speaker 1: Zach's gonna give us a little trivia question. Donald ruins it.
- 56:39Speaker 1: If you have another trivia question about a walrus, I
- 56:41Speaker 1: will totally wait for you to do this story. I
- 56:44Speaker 1: got one. Okay, go ahead. Oh no, it's a what's
- 56:46Speaker 1: the name of the manatee that lives underneath the hospital? Oh?
- 56:52Speaker 1: Is it walrus? No? I don't know. It's julian Um
- 57:02Speaker 1: fourteen fifty two, the premiere of wrong, Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong.
- 57:11Speaker 1: You're wrong, You're wrong? He does that again? Right? I
- 57:15Speaker 1: just yeah, you know, it's interesting. On the wrong clock,
- 57:18Speaker 1: it's three. It was three o'clock on the wrong clock.
- 57:21Speaker 1: On the wrong clock, it's three. That's very clever that
- 57:23Speaker 1: you figured that out, is it. I never realized that
- 57:28Speaker 1: the wrong clock was three o'clock. It's kind of a
- 57:31Speaker 1: weird fantasy thing at seventeen forty one when you're operating
- 57:34Speaker 1: on me that you then look up into the lens
- 57:38Speaker 1: as my bird's eye point of view. I thought that
- 57:41Speaker 1: was sort of not something we did a lot of.
- 57:42Speaker 1: That was kind of unique. Yeah, you know, it's a
- 57:45Speaker 1: funny joke too. Is truth in the matter, whereas a
- 57:48Speaker 1: lot of a lot of people claim that when they're
- 57:51Speaker 1: out and unconscious in the hospital and are going through
- 57:57Speaker 1: whatever it is that they're going through, that they're not
- 58:00Speaker 1: in their bodies, but they're standing over their bodies always
- 58:03Speaker 1: watching you. Hear that story a lot, and I believe
- 58:07Speaker 1: I could be wrong. I believe it was a call
- 58:09Speaker 1: to that, you know, man, I'm just saying it was
- 58:12Speaker 1: cleverly done. And then you you looked up into the
- 58:14Speaker 1: lens again. I talked about how in the show we
- 58:16Speaker 1: don't have too much in the lens looking. Actually, it
- 58:19Speaker 1: happens twice on purpose in this episode when Sarah when
- 58:22Speaker 1: the jokey thing where Sarah punches me and I turned
- 58:25Speaker 1: right into the lens kind of like raging bull. And
- 58:27Speaker 1: then and then with you doing it up to the
- 58:30Speaker 1: camera on the ceiling when I'm watching you operate. But
- 58:32Speaker 1: I I thought that was a cool thing, just as
- 58:34Speaker 1: as on a serious Turk note that they really sell
- 58:38Speaker 1: in this episode that like all joking aside, Turks are
- 58:40Speaker 1: really good surgeon, which I thought was cool. I think
- 58:43Speaker 1: that was important for everyone to understand. Also, you know,
- 58:48Speaker 1: the hospital in a lot of ways, the setting in
- 58:51Speaker 1: the hospital is very jokey and and these guys are
- 58:55Speaker 1: it's it's a bunch of comic relief. But at the
- 58:58Speaker 1: end of the day, these guys are very, very, very
- 59:00Speaker 1: good at their jobs. And you know, as Bill talks about,
- 59:04Speaker 1: it's important that you laugh with them and you cry
- 59:06Speaker 1: with them, but you understand that they're very capable exactly.
- 59:10Speaker 1: And I think for me watching rewatching the show, now,
- 59:12Speaker 1: this was a moment where Bill clearly wanted to hammer home, like,
- 59:16Speaker 1: you know, JD's nervous. You know, he doesn't know how
- 59:18Speaker 1: good a surgeon he Isn't Bill really want to hammer home.
- 59:20Speaker 1: I'm like, no, No, Turk's really talented surgeon, right, And
- 59:24Speaker 1: this plays throughout the rest of the series. Also, you know,
- 59:28Speaker 1: Turk becomes a superstar surgeon him and and the todd too, actually,
- 59:33Speaker 1: believe it or not, is a very good surgeon. At
- 59:36Speaker 1: twenty twenty one, did you stitch your initials into me? Yeah,
- 59:40Speaker 1: that's not in foot And then I saw on the
- 59:44Speaker 1: scrubs WICKI they pointed out that in future episodes you
- 59:48Speaker 1: never see Jad's scar at all the times that he's shirtless.
- 59:52Speaker 1: Oh that's interesting. Last the last thing I wrote down
- 59:56Speaker 1: on if you of anything else was I think. I think,
- 59:58Speaker 1: I think I improved the I think there was the Nina.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: Yeah you did. I remember laughing so hard at that too,
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: I remember, and I and I laughed because I remember
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: you having to explain to me, no, those were the ships,
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: because like, hell are you talking about? Wasn't it the Nina,
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: the Pinta and the Santa Maria? Santa Maria? Yea Joell's
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: nodding nice Ce Elementary School paid off? It did. There
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: was something that you stated your character states when we're
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: all walking into the bar, about how when you work
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: with people, you become family with them, And I just
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: thought while watching that, I was like, holy cow, you know,
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: we worked together long enough that we all became a family,
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: you know what I mean? Where you know, I look
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: at Sarah and Judy as my sisters. I look at
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: you and Bill and John C. McGinley as my brothers,
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: you know what I mean? And I still cherished to
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: this day. I cherish the moments that we spent together.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: And if you're ever able, at any moment in time
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: to just be in the moment and not worry about
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: what's going to happen in the future or what's happened
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: in the past. If you're surrounded by people you truly love,
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: you're so lucky and blessed. And that's what the end
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: of the show is saying, you know what I mean.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: It's saying, you know, you're gonna you're gonna meet a
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: bunch of people in life, and at some point you're
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: going to rely on other people beside yourself. And if
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: you're lucky to have those people who will really step
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: up for you, you're genuinely lucky. And so yeah, I
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: feel very lucky to have made this group of friends.
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: You know, it's very rare on a project to come
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: away with such lifelong friends, and I think that's where
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: let's put the fun of this. Going back. It's just,
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: you know, I mean, I find myself just smiling thinking
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: about seeing Johnny the other day, or seeing Judy and
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: and and looking forward of course to doing this with you.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: And then I'm texting Bill about something. I'm like when
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: you're coming back on He's like, anytime you want, and
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: I don't know, it's kind of like getting the family
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: together every week. It's great. It really is cool, you
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: know what I mean. And and just knowing that we
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: cared about each other and still carry about each other
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: so much that we must show show up for each other,
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: even just to talk for an hour and a half.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: I think, especially during this time, I find myself really
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: longing for human connection and reaching out to friends and family.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: And uh, you know, when we plan to start doing this,
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: you know, COVID hadn't hadn't hit yet, and and now
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: that we're doing it in quarantine, I don't know. I
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: think it's more special than it probably would have been
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: because there's this we we both have this natural instinct
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: to want to connect and relate and look back with love. Yeah,
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: and it's all love. That, it's all love. It's all love.
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: So love to all of you who are listening. This
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: is a lot of fun and uh, please keep hitting
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: us up on our social media. We love hearing from you. Um,
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: we love the response has been really fun and if
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: you want to ask a question, you can write an
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: email to Scrubs iHeart at gmail dot com. We want
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: to thank Dan and Joel who make this show possible absolutely,
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: and you also want to thank all the people, as

- 1:03:33Speaker 1: because this is uh, this is still going on. I
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: know people are getting tired of it, but stay safe,
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: stay home. And on that note, kick it. Wilder es
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: some story abajo about us and that nurses and a geradi.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: I say his story that you should know. So gather
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: round
