Transcript
- 0:23None. Hamster with a blump.
- 0:34Pen Knife for doing quicker, quicker, quicker.
- 0:39This is coming out of full hamster episodes, so I'm going
- 0:42to introduce episode 2 in in just a second.
- 0:47Dylan. Yeah.
- 0:49In terms of sort of episode ones, how does that rank?
- 0:53I think it's a fantastic episode one.
- 0:55I think it's got a great build up with a great cliffhanger.
- 0:58And, you know, the central mystery is an intriguing one.
- 1:01And I can imagine being 10 years old in 1966 and thinking for
- 1:06this is going to be a belter. I can only speak for Joe Ford in
- 1:102023, who watched this the other night.
- 1:14I was absolutely hooked. In fact, I really liked episode
- 1:17one. And here's a little teaser of
- 1:18what's to come. But when the side men came into
- 1:21it, and especially in Episode 2, I fucking loved it.
- 1:25Yeah, that was absolutely gripped.
- 1:28Yeah. Absolutely.
- 1:29It's it's, it's just a great episode one.
- 1:32And it does feel, I know it's very easy to sort of say this in
- 1:36hindsight, but it does feel a little bit like, oh, something,
- 1:39it's something a little different is happening here.
- 1:41It does feel like the end of an era.
- 1:44Well, OK folks, we're going to go into episode 2 if you're all
- 1:48ready. Dylan, Are you ready?
- 1:50I was born ready. Well then I'm going to start
- 1:56episode 2 with Welcome Back to Hamster with a Bloodbed Knife,
- 2:00the Doctor Who Coventry podcast, Dylan episode two of The 10th
- 2:06Planet. I'm very excited.
- 2:08Here we are streaming live to the nation.
- 2:10They're all they're all poised to hear what we think of Episode
- 2:132. Well, why don't you count as in
- 2:16then? Come on.
- 2:17OK, let's press play in 54321. Off we go, right?
- 2:25We should all be In Sync this time.
- 2:27Yes, I'm very much In Sync. I'd like to ask you lovely
- 2:32people out there, what do you think of the Mondassian
- 2:36Cybermen? A design which only managed to
- 2:40reach 3 storeys. This spare parts and well enough
- 2:45in time in the Doctor Falls I think.
- 2:47Is that it? No, they show up in What's the
- 2:50one with Mary Shelley? That is a Big finish one.
- 2:53Of course, God damn it, I can't remember the name of it.
- 2:57Now I. Still the Turk.
- 2:59Still the Turk now I would. Oh, actually, you're talking
- 3:02bollocks, Joe. They're in Big Finish all the
- 3:03time now. Didn't the didn't the knife
- 3:05doctor just meet him? They did, and they're in loads
- 3:09of comics in the 60s. A factual Doctor Who podcast.
- 3:14Regardless of how many stories there are in, what do you think
- 3:17of them? I mean, I love them.
- 3:20I think they're a brilliant design.
- 3:23Now originally, and this leads into something that looks a bit
- 3:27silly in a minute, They were supposed to be sort of
- 3:29beautiful, you know, people with angular drawer drawer, angular
- 3:33jaws with like tight fitting sort of lycra body suits and
- 3:37like a metal plate on their head.
- 3:39So they weren't quite as computerized.
- 3:41Now that is why in a minute you see them walking wearing the the
- 3:46soldiers Parker jackets and they look ridiculous because of
- 3:49course, as that design that would have worked.
- 3:52But instead you suddenly go. Nobody turns around and goes.
- 3:55Why has he suddenly got a massive head?
- 3:58I mean, do you know what? Like just take the lamp off and
- 4:00that would still kind of work the parkers.
- 4:03But because the lamps are so high, when they put those on
- 4:06they look so silly. Yeah, Anthony Carroll says.
- 4:09I think they were meant to be gloved.
- 4:10They were meant to be gloved, but Sandra Reed forgot to source
- 4:15the gloves basically, so they ended up with just their normal.
- 4:17Hands OK to watch who a Doctor Who podcast says NNNNXXXXX.
- 4:25Thank you for that. Auntie Carol also says it's a
- 4:30great look, but a bit hard to listen to what they're saying.
- 4:33Oh, I love, I love their voices. I love the fact that they just
- 4:36open their mouths and the the sound comes out, which was that
- 4:41was Derek Martinez as well. He decided we're going to get
- 4:43the voices done by somebody else and the actors are just going to
- 4:47go and open their mouths. I mean, it's Roy Skelton again,
- 4:49isn't it? Oh, Chef Harry.
- 4:52Oh, Daniel. Rosie is asking.
- 4:54Do Cybermen and cold weather just go well together?
- 4:57Their silhouette look amazing in the snow and it just seems to
- 5:01fit them so well even in the winter set.
- 5:03New series episodes. Yeah, I do think there's
- 5:06something about seeing them against sort of the harshness of
- 5:08nature and like these inhospitable environments that
- 5:12we can't exist in without support and they can just wander
- 5:15through, especially with their bare hands.
- 5:18Yeah, well, I mean in the next Doctor when they come through
- 5:21the graveyard in the snow as well, Yeah, they're tapping into
- 5:25this. And in a well enough in time
- 5:26with Doctor Falls, isn't there a sequence of them walking through
- 5:29and this sort of ash flying out that sort of spaceship?
- 5:33Yeah, I think that I have to say that I do like the fact that
- 5:37they bought the design back in world enough in time, but it
- 5:40bothers me that it's a bit it's not as accurate like it's
- 5:43missing the sort of wiring and the polystyrine not plus polyes,
- 5:49polythene overall bit to it that just makes it a bit more alien.
- 5:53I think they should have gone harder on on on the accuracy.
- 5:57Were they a little bit embarrassed, do you think?
- 5:59I don't know because the, have you seen the original designs
- 6:02where they weren't going to go full Mondassi and they were
- 6:04going to be a bit more body horror?
- 6:06I think they look cool. I don't know whether it, I, I
- 6:09find it hard to be objective. I don't know whether those
- 6:11designs work on television in 2017 or whatever it was.
- 6:15You remember what you said about them just opening their mouths?
- 6:18I mean, the, the IT looks like somebody's screaming.
- 6:21That's what's scary about that. And yet and yet this weird sort
- 6:25of almost mocking sing song voice comes out.
- 6:29It's very jarring, but that's what makes it creepy.
- 6:32It's utterly alien. And you know, fair play to
- 6:36Sandra Reed for sort of going a little bit extra with the
- 6:39costumes because they are. I mean, they're bulky and weird
- 6:42and look weirdly thrown together, but I think they're
- 6:45brilliant. Also in wild enough in time, why
- 6:47don't they use their their weapons from the the crotch?
- 6:51They they shoot everybody out the head instead.
- 6:53Why would you give me a line like that?
- 6:59But I also think as well. Have you ever seen Leatherface?
- 7:02Leatherface. Yeah, the horror creation.
- 7:05I don't think I have. He looks very like because it's
- 7:08sort of like wrinkled leather. Now if I Google Leatherface, am
- 7:12I going to get something else? Don't Google it live.
- 7:16I'm, I'm Googling it right now. Oh yeah, no, I have seen
- 7:20Leatherface you. Know.
- 7:21What I mean, yeah. Yeah, it's, it's that weird.
- 7:23I don't know. It's very, very.
- 7:25And when they become just a mask, so just a metal mask or
- 7:30probably, you know, plastic mask, it loses something,
- 7:34doesn't it? It lose it's because it feels
- 7:36like they've been sort of put together in a hurry in
- 7:39desperation so it all looks a bit comical yeah that's what
- 7:43makes it so effective yeah but I.
- 7:45I just love that. So we've had a few people who
- 7:47have been commenting on them. Beeble Pete says.
- 7:50The less they move, the more it strikes me their corpse is
- 7:53creepy. Then suddenly it's a moving car
- 7:56boot sale. Joe Allen says the head looks
- 8:00really creepy, but the oversized chest pieces look awkward.
- 8:03I mean, they were awkward, weren't they?
- 8:04Nobody in those costumes could actually sit down.
- 8:07Daniel Rosie says the side men give great heads.
- 8:11They do I. Mean OT, Daniel noted.
- 8:14They were the they were the first duck who monsters to have
- 8:17DSLS as the kids call them. What?
- 8:20Is that? Dick sucking lips.
- 8:24How did I not know that? Speechless, frankly.
- 8:32How to get you come on to this podcast and lower the tone?
- 8:36I'm sorry. I shall.
- 8:37I should leave. Shouldn't I?
- 8:38Please. Please.
- 8:40Don't please. So, so again, as a kid, this
- 8:44whole thing of there was just this these little clips you got
- 8:48like there was one in the making of Silver Nemesis.
- 8:50There was of them walking through the snow.
- 8:52There was and also this scene on the the Cybermen, the early
- 8:56years VHS where that you know, they are, they're well dark
- 8:59return and I just they're instantly mimicable.
- 9:02But I was obsessed like anything I could find about these
- 9:05particular Cybermen. So I had the Cyberman book by
- 9:08David Banks, which they appear in.
- 9:10I read the target novelization a couple of times and I was just
- 9:14obsessed with the these the these Cybermen seeing this story
- 9:17and it was a long time before I actually saw it.
- 9:20Well, if you were obsessed then and and you've studied this in a
- 9:23little bit of depth, can you please tell me what that side
- 9:26man says when he just points and goes trigger what I think?
- 9:30I think he's saying or about to say triggers at aim or triggers
- 9:33at reality or something like that.
- 9:35It's a very strange moment, you know it.
- 9:37Is it is. I love Polly in this scene.
- 9:42Now, Annika Wills, who's not short of an opinion or two, says
- 9:48on several documentaries how Kit Peddler and Jerry Davis always
- 9:53wanted to write her up, so they didn't just want her to play the
- 9:56little woman. So she's the one that goes at
- 9:58the sideman and says, don't you care?
- 10:00You know? But it's really driving the
- 10:02point home that they've got no emotion.
- 10:03And they don't care. Why should I care?
- 10:06There are people die all over your planet.
- 10:10That's what they do. I don't know who you sound like.
- 10:14Was that nearly? Racist.
- 10:15You know who you sound like? You sound like Ruth Shearsmith
- 10:18when he goes. I hadn't thought of that.
- 10:23It's because I haven't got the mic.
- 10:24If I had the mic, you'd be going God.
- 10:26It's it's that a temp planet Cyberman.
- 10:28I'm not going to lie, I've been practicing inside the voices all
- 10:31day to cyber. Doing one or something?
- 10:33They will not return. That, that's impressive.
- 10:36That's that's much better than mine.
- 10:37Unimportant. Oh, they're marvelous.
- 10:43So you can see what the kids locked onto it now, can't you?
- 10:47Yeah, absolutely. They're they're terrifying.
- 10:49I wit the the leaders a little bit chubby.
- 10:51He's got a bit of a chubby face. And I actually like the
- 10:54background ones who have got skinnier faces and they look a
- 10:57little bit like it looks almost more sort of skeletal underneath
- 11:01because they're skinnier. I believe the leader may go on
- 11:04to play an important role in attack on the sidemen, you know.
- 11:06Yes, exactly. Cyber leaders are chubby.
- 11:09Although David Banks answered this question, he said, well,
- 11:12it's that the cyber leaders have had more enhancements, so that's
- 11:15why they look bigger. Let's say there you go.
- 11:20He wasn't just churning out tie in books, was he?
- 11:23He was no absolutely sideman, but was really the illustrations
- 11:26in that. Yeah, it incredible.
- 11:29It's a great book. And he also released audio
- 11:32tapes. Didn't he have sort of readings
- 11:34from it, which I've got somewhere.
- 11:35And I mean, he just on his myth makers.
- 11:38He keeps talking about the Cybermen as if they're a real
- 11:42race. He got so into and obsessed with
- 11:44the Cybermen. It's like he's just a bit part
- 11:46actor mate. Sorry, David Banks, if you're
- 11:48out there, you know, listening, but you know, it's it's very
- 11:52odd. It's very odd how into the
- 11:55Cybermen he got. His two claims to fame are that
- 11:58he got to play the Doctor for one night only during or a
- 12:01couple of weeks I think it was wasn't it during the ultimate
- 12:03adventure and marvellous he was too are here.
- 12:07And his second claim to fame is he wrote the New Adventures
- 12:10novel Iceberg where he got to utter the not very often heard
- 12:15word fuck in Doctor Who because that was during that that phase
- 12:20of the New Adventures where they were testing out heavy swearing.
- 12:24Decided not to after that. Excellent.
- 12:27Well, good old David Banks. He was at Regenerations the
- 12:29other week and he's he's a very charming.
- 12:32He's someone that has been away from Doctor fandom for years and
- 12:35then has come back now that the money's dried up.
- 12:39Now, the first time I ever saw this was in the end a very ropey
- 12:43sort of 3rd generation copy of like a fan recording.
- 12:48And it was from a company called Joint Venture.
- 12:52I say a company, a group of fans called Joint Venture and they
- 12:55used to do recons before Loose Cannon did recons.
- 12:57And if you ordered a story that had surviving episodes, if they
- 13:01weren't available from on VHS, they would put the surviving
- 13:04episodes on with the Recon. So I ordered 10th Planet
- 13:08forward. You've got the other three
- 13:09episodes. And the day I saw it was one of
- 13:12the greatest days of my life. I would have been about 14 years
- 13:15old. It's the dollar.
- 13:17No, you just send off a tape and like 2 weeks later a Recon had
- 13:20arrived. That and Loose Loose Cannon who
- 13:23used to send those out for free as well.
- 13:25I don't know what a service I did to fans.
- 13:28And yet you've still got build bags charging 499 for a 10
- 13:32minute making of an audio play that's 20 years old.
- 13:36Although as a side note, should you have a particularly rainy
- 13:39day, go and buy a probe. When to die or time to die?
- 13:42What's it called again? When to die, Time to die is
- 13:44James Bond. It's very important you don't
- 13:46mix those two up, but. No wait, watch them back-to-back
- 13:54When to die and Time to die. You'll see the exactly the same
- 13:57production values in both. I would advise alcohol to be
- 14:01consumed before and during watching.
- 14:03Probe when to die. It is not something anybody
- 14:06should have to experience sober. You know, when that side man
- 14:10earlier snapped that gun in half, That normally looks really
- 14:14pony, doesn't it? I actually thought that looked
- 14:16quite impressive. No, it looked.
- 14:18Really good? Not really.
- 14:19Because normally they sort of snap a plastic prop or is this
- 14:21how we just sort of bent it? Yeah, It's like it's made out of
- 14:24really weak metal or something. So it's more sort of durable,
- 14:27but it also looks realistic. Anthony Carroll says he's
- 14:30reporting to BBC licensing there.
- 14:32Oh. No, Jesus Christ, someone's in
- 14:35trouble. What do you reckon then to the
- 14:40So obviously, as we go on through Doctor Who, the Cybermen
- 14:43have many, many weaknesses. Gold coins, you know, a gold
- 14:47sneeze or anything that's coming out of.
- 14:49Them a glitter gun. What about a silent movie, which
- 14:54is what Ben uses? He's like I.
- 14:58Mean I I always think these Cybermen are not quite they're
- 15:02they're not quite devoid of emotion they're very early sort
- 15:05of you know that they have more weaknesses than than later
- 15:09Cybermen. So I don't it makes sense that
- 15:11that it would overpower and and blind them in a way.
- 15:14And obviously radiation later in the story becomes a big issue
- 15:17for them. I.
- 15:18Mean they still have hands, don't they?
- 15:20I know they weren't supposed to, but that was such a savvy move
- 15:23that they were like, no, we're just going to keep it in.
- 15:25Yeah, Joe Welland says the astronauts are doing pretty good
- 15:290G acting, which is very true, I mean.
- 15:32Joe, do you remember this from the Android invasion?
- 15:38Well, partly when he had the hair dryer in his face in the
- 15:41Ambassador's affair. It's a skill, OK?
- 15:47Now, obviously they've just been destroyed that they they have
- 15:52two extra cameras for this story which were on the astronauts at
- 15:56all times. So they could like do the live
- 15:58feed into the other sets. How?
- 16:00Do you know this? I have done my research, Joe I.
- 16:04I expect nothing, but someone's got to have some facts at their
- 16:09fingertips, don't they? I think that's my last facts.
- 16:12Oh, no, actually I've got a couple for episode 4 as well.
- 16:14But yeah, it's just going the extra mile.
- 16:17And so those actors were always acting during those episodes
- 16:20because they could be seen on screen essentially at all times
- 16:23during the base. Something that Mark and I were
- 16:26talking about earlier, he was like, do you reckon?
- 16:29Oh, Mark Cochrum says Dylan's a professional.
- 16:34So are you, Mark. You know I.
- 16:37I love, Sorry to interrupt, but I love the fact that this
- 16:40Cyberman pulls out his dictaphone and goes around
- 16:42asking everybody's name and occupation.
- 16:45Doesn't he keep going? Doesn't he keep saying HA?
- 16:49Occupation. Mind your own bloody business.
- 16:54We only take the best. But then Mark was saying because
- 16:59we're we're sort of approaching towards the end of the episode
- 17:01and obviously Hartnell's not in three.
- 17:04So it's like do you think Hartnell for a sicky on his
- 17:07Penelope episode or is is it documented that he was actually
- 17:11genuine? He had bronchitis.
- 17:13Oh. OK.
- 17:14It wasn't. It was not a well man, which you
- 17:18know, but bronchitis is not the same as his.
- 17:20What was it? Artis?
- 17:22I can't remember. Artis.
- 17:23I don't know. What's called artis sclerosis?
- 17:26That's the 1. So it's not I, I just don't buy
- 17:31that. Hartnall was on what?
- 17:32Because if you look at the Smugglers, which admittedly was
- 17:34a holdover from the previous series, he's on fine form there.
- 17:37He's on great form in one and two, He's not about in three.
- 17:40He may be on less fine form in four, but I think that is what
- 17:44they call acting because his character's on the way out.
- 17:49OK, well then I'm going to ask you the question now if that's
- 17:52OK. And that is, do you feel as if
- 17:55I'm talking a load of bullshit when I say that Hartnell being
- 18:01weakened by the toy maker and weakened by the Time destructor
- 18:05in the Daleks master plan and weakened by the savages when he
- 18:09had his life sucked out of him in that?
- 18:11Is this all leading up to the 10th Planet, or are those just
- 18:14rehearsals for what's to come? I I think it's nice to imagine
- 18:19that that's the case, but I don't.
- 18:20Think it's true? I think it's just Mondas sort of
- 18:24sucking him dry, as I keep saying.
- 18:27I, I also, I, I think the thing about Hartnell is I think the
- 18:32workload is too much for him, but that doesn't mean he's not
- 18:36delivering at any point, not. So not at.
- 18:39All like, I mean, you try making ATV show and being a part time
- 18:43alcoholic, you know, 40-50 weeks a year, you're really going to
- 18:46have trouble. I mean, I'm surprised he had any
- 18:48time to fit in any racism, you know?
- 18:54I just imagine him getting this script and going, oh, Heather,
- 18:57honestly, the evil that's in Doctor Who these days.
- 19:00I'm going to have so free off all right.
- 19:02Now this is the bit where we see his missing teeth and also he
- 19:05suddenly morphs into David Bradley.
- 19:07Indeed. What did you think about those?
- 19:11I thought they were glorious when they remade those scenes
- 19:14from the film. Yeah, and I, I love them.
- 19:16And there was loads more of them, apparently.
- 19:19And so they shot a lot more. And there's pictures of very
- 19:22like the Cybermen and stuff like that being used in it, but
- 19:24obviously they're not there. Yeah, it was obviously Moffett
- 19:27trying to remake as much of 10th Planet 4 as he possibly could.
- 19:31You should have just done the whole thing while he had the
- 19:33money, Russell. You got that Mickey Mouse money.
- 19:35Now we want entire classic Doctor Who stories remade.
- 19:39We've got a few more comments here.
- 19:41Dan Knight, Hello Daniel. He is giving us the correct
- 19:44pronunciation of Hartnell, saying it's arteriosclerosis.
- 19:49There we. Go.
- 19:50So there's at least one fact for everybody today.
- 19:53Mark Cochrum says Trouton was shagged out by the end.
- 19:57I know he was. Did you see how many wives they
- 19:59had? No, they didn't have Hartnell's
- 20:01health problems. And it's true it it was a
- 20:03punishing schedule. You've also missed out your
- 20:06boyfriend to watch him, Mark, who says Hartnell master plan
- 20:10very good. What?
- 20:10Does he mean? Well, what were we just talking
- 20:13about of the, you know, being the time destructor and all that
- 20:17jazz? OK, that was very good.
- 20:20Given I did just miss him out, I'll say his next comment.
- 20:23Give Hartnell a month off and I'm sure he could have carried
- 20:25on, he said. Yeah, I think you probably if if
- 20:29they were doing sort of 30 episodes a year and he had time
- 20:32off, I got no doubt he could have done a few more years.
- 20:35And Joel Ellen says they need to release all the footage from
- 20:37Twice Upon a Time. Twice Upon a Time which the
- 20:39original edit was apparently 90 minutes long.
- 20:42And how long was the episode? An hour.
- 20:44So there's 30 minutes of. It's just not.
- 20:47Not properly. It's just Daniel Rumsby says.
- 20:53Love, pride, hate, fear. Have you no emotions, Sir?
- 20:56It's such a great moment. From heart.
- 20:58No. Absolutely yes.
- 21:00I'm fine form I'm fine form till the the bitter end.
- 21:04Now there was a minor sort of controversy recently online
- 21:10because the BBC uploaded the regeneration of the 1st Doctor
- 21:14and it was from Twice Upon a Time.
- 21:16But that didn't really bother me because in Twice Upon a Time it
- 21:20still then fades back to the original regeneration scene.
- 21:23So basically, I don't know what Doctor Who fans are bitching
- 21:26about, but. What was the controversy about?
- 21:28Because I didn't do the original.
- 21:30Yeah, because so they didn't use a bit of the animation or they
- 21:32didn't use the cine footage that that led up because, you know,
- 21:35we've got that cine footage that's sort of poor quality of
- 21:39the the TARDIS losing its shit. Instead they go Bradley.
- 21:42And then for the regeneration, it goes back to Hartmann and
- 21:45then to Trout and which, you know, I think it's probably the
- 21:47best way to present it. It's the same argument I'll
- 21:49choose when I talk about the Timeless Children.
- 21:52You know, like it didn't rewrite anything and the original
- 21:55footage is all still there and untouched.
- 21:57Yeah, exactly. Doctor Who fans just, like, need
- 22:01something to whinge about, though.
- 22:02Don't. They, oh, yeah, I've been taking
- 22:04a little bit of a, a break through most of the day off of
- 22:07Twitter recently because there's been spats all over the place.
- 22:11It's been, yeah, very unpleasant.
- 22:13Daniel Knight says. Do you think Annika Wills is too
- 22:15harsh on Hartnell when she talks about him?
- 22:18That's a great point. I do, yes.
- 22:21Yeah. I do as well.
- 22:23I think, you know, Annika Wills is very opinionated and I, you
- 22:27know, I don't know Annika, I don't know anything about her,
- 22:30but she comes across as somebody who likes to cause a bit of
- 22:33controversy and, you know, make a fuss over things.
- 22:36So yes, I do think so. Now, not to say that if he was a
- 22:39bigot he shouldn't be pulled up for that behaviour, but you
- 22:42know. Morgan O'Brien talks about him
- 22:44in the latest Blu-ray and she says I know, I know he was a
- 22:47racist. I know he was homophobic, he had
- 22:51massive flaws. He was also a very kind
- 22:54gentleman when he wanted to be and and a creative and a
- 22:58perfectionist. And so she gives a far more sort
- 23:01of balance views. Annika always just goes, Oh
- 23:03well, we wanted Hartnell gone and we wanted Trout and in it
- 23:06feels very sort of unbalanced. I also think sort of
- 23:09retrospectively, it's very easy for her to to go.
- 23:12Those sort of 12 weeks she spent with Hartnell were pretty
- 23:14uncomfortable, but that was 12 weeks out of the guy's entire
- 23:18life, and he was reportedly unwell.
- 23:21So, you know, perhaps he wasn't in the best of moods and he,
- 23:24just like all his mates, had left by this point.
- 23:26You know, it feels like Peter Purvis was probably his last
- 23:29sort of great friend on the series that that left, and then
- 23:32he was just left with a bunch of newbies.
- 23:34I think it's worth noting that Sarah Sutton had an not
- 23:38altogether great time with Tom Baker in the last two stories of
- 23:42season 18 and very subtly just says I didn't enjoy that time
- 23:47and then moves on. Whereas Annika Wells is like I
- 23:51must sell another copy of my book.
- 23:53Yeah, but I mean, Sarah Sutton doesn't really have opinions on
- 23:56anything. I find her so dull.
- 24:00I'm sorry. Sarah Sutton, if you're
- 24:01listening, she's not listening. But there's that.
- 24:03I watched that bloody What's That thing on the season 20
- 24:07Glock set And then travelling to Germany and I just, I thought it
- 24:10was the dullest extra they've ever put together.
- 24:13I loved it, what are you talking about?
- 24:15To Fast forward it, by the end they should have done more
- 24:17scripted, Mark Donaldson of All the Time Last said in our little
- 24:20Greek chat. He said They should have done
- 24:21more scripted stuff and I think I think that's right, but I was
- 24:25so bored by nothing. To do with the 10 planet.
- 24:27The reason I liked it though, was because Janet Fielding is
- 24:30on. Every time you see her at a
- 24:31convention and all these things, she's always on.
- 24:33She cannot be on for that sustained period of time.
- 24:36I feel that's the one time we got to see her off.
- 24:40Yeah, just. Oh, Mark Cockrum loved it too.
- 24:42Thank you, Mark. There we go.
- 24:44And to watch. Who said?
- 24:46Of course, she is referring to Annika Wills being too hard on
- 24:49on Hartnell. I mean, each of their own.
- 24:53Daisy, my partner was sat in the room sort of on her phone
- 24:55watching. And she loves shows like that.
- 24:57And she was like, this is far too long and boring.
- 24:59And this is usually my cup of tea.
- 25:01You know She likes cruising with Jane McDonald.
- 25:04Not fair enough. We've never been cruising
- 25:09together. I won't tell you what we watch
- 25:11when we are watching Doctor Who. You don't want to know, I do.
- 25:14Want to know I've? Got a a cliffhanger comparison
- 25:18question for you that I've just thought up.
- 25:20Hit me. Well, this is ends with them
- 25:23going, my God, it's a fleet of cyber spaceships.
- 25:27And then you get to see the sort of, you know, the the graphic.
- 25:30The radar, yeah. Yeah, and then at the end of
- 25:33Silver Nemesis Episode 2, it's like, of course they're shrouded
- 25:38cyber warships, thousands of them.
- 25:42They're invisible. And then you get to see all of
- 25:44the fabulous egg boxes hanging in space.
- 25:46Yeah. But which is better?
- 25:48I love, I love an egg box in space, if I'm honest, Anthony
- 25:53Anthony Carroll says next debate Z Bomb or Z bomb.
- 25:56Oh well, we'll save it for Episode 3.
- 26:00How exciting. So I'm assuming you're going for
- 26:02the Silver Nemesis 1 then? What the your silver Nemesis all
- 26:06the way? Also I think those models look
- 26:07great in silver Nemesis. What are you talking about?
- 26:10What is wrong with you? I have my eggs out of one of
- 26:12those this morning. Well, look, would you care to
- 26:17intro episode 3? We can get going with the next
- 26:20episode.
