[upbeat music] Good. Good evening. Is there a cowbell in that? I think there is.
• 0:16
There's like a little ding or something that I never noticed before. Maybe there should be m- a little more cowbell in that intro. There always has to be more cowbell. Dink, dink, dink, dink, dink.
• 0:25
Uh, today is, uh, show number 159 of your Full Spectrum Cycling radio appropriation program thingy. Like the Alfa Romeo 159. Oh, yeah. [laughs] That's right. Gotta keep, yeah, continuity. Dink, dink, dink.
• 0:40
Yeah, didn't even have the phone pulled up this week. No. Hey, hell. Mm-mm, mm-mm. Learned all about that 159. Yeah. 158/159 last week. [laughs] Needs like a little cigar. Ah. What's been going on? What's the buzz?
• 0:56
Tell me what's a- happening. Oh. Money. Money, money, money, money was going out of wallets of other people. Or w- w- w- what? At Uncle Al, and Melvin's, and COC Show. Oh, yeah. Oh, my. Oh, my.
• 1:12
Well, even on a free ticket, it's... You pay- You pay, tell, what, 10 bucks for a beer? I think the- 11. 11? And then for some reason, you feel like you have to give a tip. [laughs] I do. I mean, I just do. You do.
• 1:27
You do. I just... I dunno. C- a fucking Catholic guilt, man. I don't know. Are- No, are they getting any money though? They're probably making nothing. It's just the...
• 1:34
Yeah, I noticed lately that even the Pabst is charging, like, eight bucks for a goddamn pint of Pabst. Not at Rave. That's 10 or 11 now. 11. 11 bucks for a fucking- Yeah...
• 1:43
you guys are drinking Busch fucking Light, dude. That was- And it was 11 bucks? Yeah. Oof. I mean, I was on- I think I just have to stay sober... I was off my skull when people were drinking Budweiser for that amount.
• 1:52
Yeah, I think I maybe had two beers. Yeah. That- And it's way up there... my free ticket did cost me $115 though. Whoa. Oh, yes.
• 2:00
Because they just inst- I think that night was the first night or, or the second night of them closing off downtown to parking after 9:00 PM now. So it's a, you know, tow, they tow 'em away and- [laughs] Oh, yeah...
• 2:14
we pulled up at, like, 11:30 and there was a tow truck like one or two cars in front of my van. [laughs] But the ticket was already on my van. I, I was like, "Well"- You were in line...
• 2:25
I was gonna try and, you know, I'll try and do something to get it reduced, but I'm just like, well, at least it didn't go on the flatbed and then I have to go find it. Right.
• 2:32
So, uh, I, I, I got taught that lesson- There's-... again this year- Wow... 'cause I got- Listen to you being optimistic... well, I got- How much? 120? 1, 115.
• 2:40
It's called a relocation fee, which in fact they did not relocate my vehicle. You should fight that. Well, I could, and they would reduce it by 50%, but I have to fuck around and go- Right...
• 2:50
down there and do it for, like, three hours. I'm not sure it's really worth my time. Well, find out when it is. Maybe it'll- Because it's- Pack a lunch. Yeah. [laughs] Bring a book.
• 2:58
You know, it's like jury fucking duty, man. You, you- You could maybe, you know- Eh... ask Bob Donovan. Oh, no, he's... No. He didn't win. He didn't even come close. [laughs] Well, I wasn't nut jobs.
• 3:10
I keep looking down at Mitchell- [laughs] You see Mitchell bathrooms? I just, I look, [laughs] I had to look down from my, my perch [laughs] and I see the Mitchell bathrooms. It was election day here in Milwaukee County.
• 3:21
[laughs] And it's- Well, actually all over, I guess... I'm sorry. It just every time, every time. It's like, dude, why do you pop your head out? Yeah.
• 3:28
[laughs] 'Cause you know that story's gonna pop its head back out- Yeah... again. Yep. Just 'cause everyone's popping things out of their heads. Yeah. Yep, sorry, I got- This is me saying it without saying this-...
• 3:38
I got political there. I apologize. Yeah, yeah. Well, no, this is not really political-ish. It is-ish. It's creepy-ish. [laughs] Jesus. I mean, come on. It's just creepy. It, you know.
• 3:45
But, yeah, congratulations, Cavalier. Yeah. And he's only in there for the remainder of the term though, right? Nope. Nope. No, no. Oh, no, this is a new term. This is a new term. Yeah, this was a special election.
• 3:53
The previous one was the, uh- Interim... the interim- Yes... mayor. So- 'Cause now, what's our old, old guy? He's, like, Luxembourg's ambassador- Yeah. Exactly... or something. [laughs] Ambassador to Luxembourg. Yeah.
• 4:03
There you go. Denardo I do believe has, uh, dual citizenship. To Luxembourg? Yeah. Yeah, he probably does. If not- Is he a Luxembourger? Should I ask him tonight? Yes. Oh, I'll ask him tonight.
• 4:14
See where we're at in the lineage. Yeah. Are you driving down there, riding down there, Ubering down there? It's so windy- Yeah... and it's mildly nice, so we're actually gonna drive. Yeah, it is pretty windy out there.
• 4:23
It's wicked windy. It's not fun windy. At least it was dry on the way in. Mm-hmm. It's supposed to start raining any time. Whatever. Any time. There you go. Any time. Today? Yeah, tonight. Well, and it's, like- Oh, yeah.
• 4:37
No, we've been- Not really... it's been raining pretty regularly. Yeah. 20% chance all night. I'll tell you why you- Is that what it is now? Yeah, pretty much. Well, maybe we will ride our bikes.
• 4:44
You do not wanna go to the river trails, however. They're very- I'll bet you they're-... moist... yeah. This is a river high. Well, your, your ride back would be brilliant. No, not s- Nice... not super nice.
• 4:53
We didn't get a lot of snow, so I can't imagine. Well, just the rain's been raining. Raining. Do, do, da-do, do. Oh, huh, well, what happened there? Oh, oh, oh.
• 5:04
We had, uh, we had a caller, but now it says call back, so it... Did he hung up right away or something? Or does it say call us b- call him back? It says call back, but- Oh... do I have to call him back? I dunno.
• 5:14
Are you requesting? It was, uh, it was Large Sexy, so he'll probably call back. Well. Do we... I dunno. Did we mention Jackson Grill closing last week? W- we did not un- f- I don't believe anyway.
• 5:26
One of my favorite Milwaukee restaurants, uh, closed down for good now. I did not have a chance to frequent it, even though you said always- Mm-hmm. Yeah... go, go. Yeah. Go there.
• 5:37
That's, was pretty much one of my go-tos. I, I think I went there for closing in on 20 years for our wedding anniversary meal every year. Oh, that sucks.
• 5:44
But, uh, Jimmy Jackson died in February of '21, so they kinda tried to hold on and- Oh, okay... he was really the draw. He's the guy that was in the kitchen. He was the guy that came out and jawed with you at your table.
• 5:56
You know, he's always made you feel like you were pretty special to be there, man. You're all right with me. That's, you know- You know, kinda thing
• 6:03
He was a very good showman, for lack of a better term, and an excellent steak-making cook. There you go. Anyway, RIP Jackson Grill. Well, I guess we're on the, uh, the RIP, [laughs] the RIP call. Yes, yeah. Yeah.
• 6:17
This is the in memoriam- Yeah. Yeah... because in the wave of- It is... I mean, it was the Oscars- I mean... and the Grammys and the CMTs are coming up this weekend because good Lord, don't you wanna- Mm-mm...
• 6:27
know what's happening in the pop country- Mm-mm... music world. You know who, you know who will not be able to be there this year? CW McCall, died at 93. 93. The rubber duck is- Mm. Mm... is- Breaker, breaker...
• 6:38
[laughs] is what? Is bouncing down the highway to heaven or something. Yeah. That was pretty bad. Down the- But 93. 93, good run. You know, he was...
• 6:46
Y- you know, I, I, 'cause I was kinda curious about him just because of the Convoy song, so I looked him up, I think on Wikipedia or something, and he was actually an ad exec- Hmm...
• 6:57
at one point before he got his country career, and they kinda started creating songs and jingles and kinda hit on this, and it just, it kind of took off, and then he- Convoy. Yeah. Took off like a convoy.
• 7:08
Took off like a convoy. Who, who said... Oh, I, I saw something on the face place or it was like, oh, I think it was Scott Summers. He, like, had commented that somebody, like when he...
• 7:17
That's why he's like something about Convoy, and he was like, "F- first rap song I ever heard." [laughs] And I'm like, he's not fucking wrong. He's not wrong. That's pretty good.
• 7:26
He's not wrong 'cause when you just go, it's like, "When you're going down the highway of life, anyway- Yeah, it is a def-... top her haul of logs"... s- sort of a spoken word, um- Yeah. Yeah. Yeah... kind of a thing.
• 7:35
Yeah. And I, yeah, I can wrap my head around that completely. Oh, that's pretty funny. I didn't even- I like it. I didn't even think Scott Summers has sense of humor. [laughs] No shit. I mean, well, yeah, yeah.
• 7:45
You have to, yeah, you have to merge the physical and the s- and the, uh, online presence- Yeah... and put it together. There you go. There you go. If, if, uh, any out- That kind of a thing...
• 7:53
if any out-of-towners ever come and, uh, and probably go to a Brewers game or a Bucks game or something, they'll probably see Scott Summers 'cause he busks with his saxamaphone. Hmm. Does pretty well. Yeah.
• 8:06
He's, uh, out of town taking care of his dad. Oh, right on. In the Michigan area until, until Times, I guess. Right. Right. I don't know. Right. So. Right. He, he may be coming back. Who knows? I don't know. Oh.
• 8:21
But- Let me- Caller. Let me- Hey. Let me- Click. Hey, click, click. Button. Button. Button. Push the button. A push the button. Welcome to the radio program caller. Who do we have on the line? Hello.
• 8:33
It's Big Sexy broadcasting to you live from Hammond, Louisiana, where shit is crazy. Hammond, Louisiana, so you have made it onto the road. Yeah, I'm on the road. I, I've been on the road.
• 8:46
I, I left New Orleans on Sunday and, uh, I passed through, uh, Slidell and Mandeville and then Covington, and now I'm in Hammond.
• 8:57
And, uh, um, I'm not able to, uh, go to the, the, the little house I stayed in for, uh, for the winter last year
• 9:07
because of logistics and shit like that, but, um, I've seen some shit in the past couple days, and I wanted to bring it up. [laughs] Do tell.
• 9:17
Does, does anybody, does anybody on the panel, does anybody have a kid with a signi- uh, ex-significant other or, you know, like where you had your kids swap? No. Um, no. I, I still have my whole kid family. Me too.
• 9:33
[laughs] I have someone else's kid too. [laughs] Oh. Well- At least one... okay, okay. So this is nothing- I, I can imagine though... this is nothing, this is nothing new to me.
• 9:43
Um, I see kids swapped all the time, and, and every, and every once in a while, one, one, one goes off the rails and I see it, and it's like, "Ah, boy. Goddammit, that sucks."
• 9:54
But I've seen some, a few completely different and completely awkward kid swaps in the last couple of days. Right. Ooh. Um, okay. So I'm sitting outside of this gas station, the Circle K.
• 10:10
It was, it was in, um, it was in, uh, Covington, uh, Louisiana, and up pulls this beautiful white, ooh, baby, fucking nice Caddy.
• 10:25
Pulls up, hot blonde behind the steering wheel, and she just sat there. She just sat there, and I'm like, "All right. What the hell is going on with this lady, right?" And she was just sitting there.
• 10:40
She was, uh, you know, doing her phone and doing, you know, looking in the mirror every once in a while and pretty herself up, blah, blah, blah. And then, and this is the sad part, guys. I'm so sorry.
• 10:52
I, I don't, I don't wanna bring your, your podcast down, but- You can't bring me down... she went, uh, rata-rata cl- thunder clatter, boom, boom, boom. Don't worry. Call the car expian.
• 11:03
Here comes this Nissan, here comes this Nissan little car and, and like, like p- p- p- p- p- p- p- pop.
• 11:11
It pulls up right next, and then she gets out of the car and, and grabs the kid out of the back seat and says, "Oh, hello," and, "Welcome back to Mommy's house," blah, blah, blah. I'm like, "Oh, man."
• 11:22
[laughs] Like, this, this poor-ass kid with this, uh, this like jalopy fucking Nissan is, is like, is handing his, uh, h- handing his daughter over to this rich- Wow... it, it, it was, it was weird.
• 11:37
Well, at least he has a Nissan piece of shit. I have to envy his Nissan piece of shit. I don't even have a piece of shit, so. [laughs] Right. Well, y- y- you know, I mean, I mean, how, how...
• 11:47
I mean, how can, how can that feel? But at the same time, so I saw the opposite tonight, and this is why I bring it up, 'cause I was... Uh, okay, so I'm in Hammond.
• 11:58
There's a Circle K right across the street from the racetrack, and I was on my way from the Circle K, the Circle K to the racetrack- Where this couple was, was having a dispute about the child, and she was screaming, "Let me have my child.
• 12:16
Let me have my child." And I didn't hear what he was saying, but I heard, as, as far as I heard him, he was like, "Calm down. We can figure this out. Blah, blah, blah."
• 12:28
And, uh, then the cops started showing up, and then there's like a, a, a 10 car pileup accident right here in the middle of the intersection. I'm like, whoa. Like, and the cops were already, like, surrounding him,
• 12:42
so it was... It... And oh my God, dude. Like, it, it... Um, I guess, I guess my, uh- Are all the bi- Are all the bicyclists safe? The bicyclists? Yeah. The, the one bicyclist in Hammond is safe. Yeah, that's me. Okay.
• 12:57
Just making sure. Just making sure. Just making sure. So haven't you seen anything uplifting on the road? I don't like downer stories like that. No, I'm just trying to put the pin there- Yeah... and make it the thing.
• 13:07
It was absolutely crazy. It's a bike story night. I, I could, I could see the cops closing in on this dude that was holding his daughter. Like, hey man, if you're gonna run for it, you know, now, now's your chance.
• 13:20
Um, between, between y'alls- You're, you're really, you're really seeing the human condition out there. I- it's- Yeah. But, uh- For all, for all the warts. [laughs] But otherwise, you're okay?
• 13:30
I, I'll, I'll tell you what, um, between, and, and, and I don't- Physically... I really don't want this to come true. I really don't want this to come true. I really don't want this to come true. He said otherwise.
• 13:40
But between y'all, me, and the wall, I, I have a really bad feeling about this trip up. Well, that's, uh, ominous. It's already, it's already gone off the rails. Yep.
• 13:51
I, I have no idea where I'm going because- Then don't do it... my, my friends in Florence- Yeah... my friends in Florence canceled on me. They got a medical thing going on, uh, up there, which is cool. It's fine.
• 14:01
But it's like, oh my God, now, now I gotta decide between Mississippi, Alabama, and Arkansas, and God damn it. That's... Yeah. What a bad decision. Yeah. [laughs] Right. Oh, boy. [laughs] Oh, man. I, I do not envy.
• 14:17
I do not envy. Oh, sad, sad news. Well, things can start to- No, that's, that's, yeah... things can start to look up pretty soon, I would think. Sun'll come up tomorrow. Bet your bottom dollar. Tomorrow. Yeah.
• 14:29
It, it- There'll be sun... it's, it, it's, it's like, it's like, okay, so nothing's going my way yet, which is o- okay, okay, cool.
• 14:37
Um, if you remember in, uh, 2020 with the pandemic and all that, I just kept on plugging, and with the pandemic, everything was going wrong with Heather.
• 14:48
Everything was going wrong with Heather, and I kept on, I just kept on going, kept on going, kept on going, and I finally got to Minneapolis. I think everything's gonna be okay. Nothing's been going wrong with the bike.
• 15:00
Everything's been fine, but God damn, every little step of the way I've got, like, some kind of juju coming, coming at me, like, oh my God, what am I doing? Yes. You're like the Jesus in the- Why me, Lord? Uh.
• 15:19
[laughs] Oh, boy. All right. So where are you headed next after Hammond? Well, um, I, uh, I have always been ver- very stout about my, uh, opinion on Baton Rouge. I hate Baton Rouge.
• 15:37
Baton Rouge can suck a fucking dick, but guess what? It's right on the way. I might as well get that state capital out of the way and get 32. Ah, there you go. Who knows, it might be better than you think. Right.
• 15:48
[laughs] Or you may have a better time than you think. Yeah. Well, no. I, I- Yeah, if you're gonna go-... I know that some kind of, some kind of bullshit's gonna come out of Baton Rouge- Well, you have the-...
• 15:57
and again, it's gonna bite me in the fucking ass. You never know. You have a Charlie Brown cloud over you, and it may break up as soon as you hit Baton Rouge, and then ta-da. It... Yeah.
• 16:07
And that, and that, and I- It's a cleansing weird... and I love your, and I love your optimistic attitude, but- [laughs]... Jesus Christ. Yeah. Have you ever been to Baton Rouge? No.
• 16:16
[laughs] Yeah, but it just, I'm just trying to break your juju there. [laughs] All right, Big Sexy. Well, I hope your next week goes well, um, and give us a shout in a week or two. Absolutely, I will.
• 16:28
Uh, when, when you said a week or two, were, were you emphasizing the two? Like- It doesn't-... can you give us a break for a second? I don't know. Right now we don't have anybody planned, but if- [laughs]...
• 16:37
if we have another guest on, you know, maybe we'll be a little shorter segment with you. All right. [laughs] Of, of course. And, and hey, and hey, and hey, I'm, I'm sorry.
• 16:45
I, I, I mean, I, I just had some things on my mind tonight, so I wanted to call you up and tell you that I am officially on the road, but, um, but yeah. All right. Well, we'll talk to you soon. Thanks for calling.
• 16:55
All right. Be safe. I will be, I will be there for River W- River Fa- River West 24, and I don't give a fuck what happens. I'll be there. All right. All right, brother. Talk to you soon. Peace.
• 17:05
If I have to sleep on, if I have to sleep on Jimmy's porch for three months, I'll be there. [laughs] All right. Okay. Bye. Bye-bye. All right. Yep. [bell ringing] And Big Sexy out. Oh. We- Right to the top of the hill.
• 17:20
We got, we, we got there quick to the top of the hill, uh- Oh, we had to. [laughs] Wow. Well, I was, I, I- This is not the downer call-in podcast, man... no, I think he was just feeling- It is a group therapy session.
• 17:33
Right. Yeah. I'm sure he was having a hard time, that's all. Maybe just having a bummer day or- Yeah... but, uh, yeah. Sweet. Dr., Dr. J... Oh yeah, JK and Tony are here today. Dr. JK on the, uh, on the- Soothing-...
• 17:44
radio helpline now. [laughs] The soothing help beats. Well, I, I am, you know- Yeah... I like to hear from his exploits. I just hope they're more... I mean, bitching at shitty drivers is okay. Yeah.
• 17:56
Well, uh, well- But good stuff that happens- Yeah... [laughs] not downer stuff. Oh, no, no, no. I mean, hey, and that's kinda how it, it felt like riding today 'cause it was like 20-...
• 18:06
miles heading south, like [whooshes] Wind-wise you're speaking of. Yes, and it's just a pain in the ass, and it's like- Wait, wait... is there really any reason for this? And I'm like, "Yes, there's a hot dog.
• 18:18
There's literally a hot dog at the end of this trek." Okay, that's what I was getting at. So what was it? Uh, they don't- That should be a weekly special... they have no- It- No, no, no.
• 18:24
During, during Lent they don't seem to be doing a special. They do the three normal dogs, but not the- What the fuck does Lent have to do with it? Uh, they offer the fish fry. Oh.
• 18:36
So they don't confuse- So they don't do a special dog? No they don't. Do they do the fish fry all week long? Wednesday and Fridays. Wednesdays and Fridays. Oh. Well, Wednesday's a good day for a fish fry- So-...
• 18:45
because normally you gotta wait till Friday... so, well, Easter's coming- Easter's never a good day... Easter's coming up- Right, right... and then, and then the special dogs will return, or sausages.
• 18:53
In that case- That's-... I'm looking for the return of a little warmer weather Hey, man... a little warmer and drier weather... I, I have no problem getting w- one western dog is perfect. Yeah. Just perfect.
• 19:01
I'm, I'm, uh- Perfect, perfect, perfect... the, the latest round of weather has been rough. It's been so- Did we-... spasmodic... did we talk at all about the door getting installed at my house with all the help?
• 19:11
I think we mentioned it. Oh, yeah, that was- I did put a picture in last week's show notes... so I haven't looked at them yet. All right. Yeah. Oh, we're drinking Zombie Dust. That was, that was f- Yeah, yeah...
• 19:19
oh yeah, we got to the tableau, we never even talked about it. Three Floyds Zombie Dust, folks. It's an undead pale ale. I'll tell you right now, if you've never had a Zombie Dust, do not talk to me.
• 19:28
[laughs] 'Cause it is one of the finest beers ever produced, hands down. Yeah, we've definitely had it before. Oh, yeah. If you can ever find it on tap- Anything Three Floyds in the pale ale area...
• 19:38
oh, on tap it is an absolutely spectacular beer. It gets even better. Yeah, it's only 6.5%. It's not like- It's-... it's not like Lion Tim's, uh-... tastes so full. Yeah... ale or something.
• 19:48
Oh, not the, uh, Triple Karmelita, which is, oh my God, delicious. Mm. Yeah, it's, uh, Zombie Dust, baby. That's good stuff. Get yourself a Zombie Dust.
• 20:01
I don't know how widely they're distributed, but they're- They're getting there... they're getting out there. Hey, Greg, I'm, I'm switching gears, but- Where's Greg? Uh, uh, he's fan, I'm switching gears.
• 20:09
Um, have you by sa- chance, uh, talked to Greg to find out if he's gotten his Bobcats yet? No. Oh. No. Me, [laughs] meb- I don't know what's going on. No, no, nobody that I know has received Bobcats. That's crazy, man.
• 20:26
He, well- No one I know... you know, there's a supply shortage. Do you know there's like 300,000 vehicles- Build... out there waiting for one ship that they're gonna put in- Yeah...
• 20:33
and then some of them they're delivering without certain things enabled, and they'll install the chip later. Later? That's weird. [laughs] I, I- Speaking of which, I started looking at-... my house cat has-...
• 20:42
the Maverick... a strain of Bobcat in it. Ah. Does that help? No. [laughs] I, um- Bobcat is weird... I looked at- No shit. Well, it's a fucking cat part of a Bobcat.
• 20:51
I looked into the electric hybrid Maverick and boy, you're gonna be able to get one of those around 2025. Yeah. Oh. It's, uh, crazy. Well, that's about when my van will probably croak anyway, though.
• 21:02
I'm t- I tried to give it a four-year, you know, kind of l- love fest. Still don't have a car. Still don't have a vehicle. Everything is like [growls] You're not looking very hard either though. No, I'm not at all.
• 21:12
[laughs] Are you? Not, not really. All right. There's not really a scream for it yet. Hey, guess what's happening this- [laughs]... guess what's happening this tomorrow? Anyone want the vehicle maybe? Rockabilly Chili.
• 21:22
Yeah. Oh my God, is that coming up already? It's already on Sunday. Yeah. It's, uh, WMSE- Yeah... our favorite radio station in the world- Of course...
• 21:29
benefit here in Milwaukee at the Kern Center down at the o- Fundraisers... campus of said WMSE. We receive no compensation or anything or other for this except the joy of listening to music on wmse.org. WMSE.
• 21:42
Except for Tuesdays. Yeah. No, shut up. Between 9:00 and noon. Shush. [laughs] You just shush. Yeah, so if you're in the Milwaukee area- [laughs]... by Cracky go get that, uh, the- taste that chili over there.
• 21:53
I'm not doing any- It's-... I'm not doing any chili hot stuff. I'm- I, I am-... I'm on the fence. Maybe, maybe some. I have to work on the house, but, but I do- I'm on the fence...
• 22:00
enjoy watching the people have to have the paramedics show up. Yeah, like I watched you on the verge of- I was close. Man. Oh, just 'cause of the heat? Oh, yeah. Yeah, I'm not doing this. Dude, I was really close.
• 22:11
I had a friend dunk me into- You were, weren't you like laying on the ground and you had somebody go to the milk bar and just like splash you with- It wasn't quite-... milk, milk face?... I was not quite that bad.
• 22:19
Um- It was close. I saw somebody like did that. [laughs] I had a friend- It was pretty damn crazy... shovel a vegan insanely hot chili into my mouth and, and- But it was a, a good harvest. It was- Good, not good har-...
• 22:31
it was not good... good something. No, no, no, but I, I, it, it, it's the one year- It was not good. And on the drums tonight, JK. Right. Sorry, no, I, it, I was getting excited- [laughs]...
• 22:39
'cause I was like- 'Cause seeing two people literally with the, with the paramedics standing over the top of them like, "Are you sure you're okay? Do we need to take you outside?" Some of those chilies are rocking hard.
• 22:51
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But the point is that first of all, people shouldn't be sticking them in your mouth. Second of all, there's a lot of chilies, so not every- Yeah... one is gonna tear your face off. Yeah.
• 22:59
Yeah, there, there's some fantastic chilies. But yeah, I, I do it- Yeah... about every four years because- Do it, do it s-... it takes that long to recover... do it wisely. Right.
• 23:05
'Cause I, I remember running into you- That was brutal... and I was like, "Okay, where was that? And I will avoid that. At least not start with it." I- I did that one year.
• 23:15
I started with like a, a fireball- Yeah, you-... damn, and I was like, "I, I'm done." Yeah. I'm done. But you should all go Saturday, or Sunday rather, and support them because...
• 23:23
Or if you can't, just send them some money. I might end up there. 'Cause they're cool. Yeah, I, I don't know. I donate a lot of- But that same night is English Beat down at the Turner Halls. Yeah.
• 23:33
And that is- Clear the bathroom... I'm just- Those guys have a drummer too. [laughs] See, I'm, I'm thinking- JK, JK's on Adderall today I think or something. Well, this is that Daiji shirt, which is killer.
• 23:44
Yeah, I was like, "Where'd you get that Daiji shirt?" And then he n- noticed, or he pointed out that it's been, um, girlfriend-ified. [laughs] Like tearing the V collar thingy going on on there. Mm.
• 23:55
Marked her territory on that shirt- She marked it... I'll tell you what. [laughs] You should come home stuffed. That was at, well, that was at least four shows ago 'cause that- Yeah... was at Tonic.
• 24:03
This was the Tonic- Ah... Tonic show. I didn't go to that one No, me either. I, I've only been to two I, I went, yeah When they were climbing up on the hay bale thing to come in The, the absolute, yeah, I heard about...
• 24:13
The absolute best one though- And I'm standing next to Jonas. I was standing next to Jonas, and I, and I, I was like, I thought he was gonna, like, crawl out of his skin, just 'cause I've seen him out in the world
• 24:23
other things. [laughs] And they're, like, knocking over, like, multifaceted chandelier-covered things. And I'm like- The, the underpants ride... he's like, "I got a trillion of them in the stable."
• 24:33
[laughs] My, my, my- What, what, where are we at now? The underpants ride- What happened?...
• 24:36
birthday Daikaiju was the greatest, one of the greatest things of my entire life Oh, that was a good one, that was X, X-Ray Arcade. Yeah. Uh, getting back to the bike stuff. Yeah, yeah. We rode bikes to both of them.
• 24:45
Oh, we did ride bikes to those things. All three of them, 'cause I went to the quarters, too. So, yes, it's all a bike show. Uh- It all comes back to bikes...
• 24:51
there is a, there's a website called BikeEXIF which has custom motorcycle builds, and there is an adult Schwinn Stingray-inspired Yamaha XS650 which is super badass. Really?
• 25:02
And I believe, 'cause I showed it to Mark when I saw him, 'cause he likes that kinda shit, and I think it was at Mama Tried, which I didn't go to this year. Mm. But I'll have a link in the show notes.
• 25:12
It's, it is just, like, if you had a, a Stingray from the '70s, this is a motorcycle version of it. You guys can look at it after the show [laughs] 'cause it's badass. That sounds cool. Uh, yeah.
• 25:25
Is that- I bet it does wheelies. Wheelies. Well, people that can do wheelies can- Right... do wheelies on them. Yeah, I can't do wheelies on anything on wheels.
• 25:32
I can do wheelies in my mind, and then I try to execute them, and I just don't even wanna look at it, 'cause I can already see what people see of me doing it, going like, "Ooh, wow." I'm too old to learn wheelies now.
• 25:42
I look like the three-year-old that tries to, like, sound like we're dirt. Yeah. "Hey, look at me, I'm doing a wheelie. Boop." Yeah. "It was nothing like that." I dunno.
• 25:51
There's some shit coming up, but it's way down the road. Well, hey- River West 24 and Wausau 24 are the same weekend. That's, that's always, but, you know. I know. I, I've still got this idea to- They haven't even-...
• 26:01
to run up there and do the final 12 hours at the Wausau 24. [laughs] The only thing about the RW 24 is they don't even start planning until after May Day. Oh, right on.
• 26:08
So, there's, they're, literally I, I have asked, uh, you know- We know where it, we know generally where it's gonna be and generally- Oh... what it's gonna be.
• 26:15
But we may know, we may already know- I have a feeling it's gonna be in-... where the bonus tattoo is this year... will it be in River West this year? [laughs] No. Is it gonna be in River West this year?
• 26:22
[laughs] We may know where it is, so. Is there a big door to get in there? Uh, you may have to enter through a large door. Probably not, though. [laughs] I'm gonna guess you may have to enter through a back door, though.
• 26:30
Oh, man. Uh, SingleSpeed USA in Decorah, August 20th.
• 26:34
We were, uh, just talking before the show, JK and I, about, uh, going to the Toppling Goliath brewery, and that would be a really good time to do that little kinda dual-purpose trip. Mm-hmm.
• 26:44
You know what would be even better? Daikaiju is in some town [laughs] on the way there or better. No doubt. [laughs] All right. Oh, also, this Sat- uh, Sunday at The Tonic, one of the Cactus Brothers
• 26:57
and the Prickly Pear Trio. So some- At The Tonic... cool trio That's one of the, one of the better places. Cool. If you're coming into town and you haven't been, oh, come dang Old Tonic.
• 27:04
I'll tell you what- Good old Sunday, Sunday afternoon matinee... Zito used to bartend there. Yeah. Has he electrified his fleet yet? He does have a fleet coming up.
• 27:14
I saw- He has a fleet of electric bikes for rental at Milwaukee By Bike. That's a good idea. They are, I forget what they are. They're kind of a step-through 20-inch big-tired thing. Yeah. Yeah, they look good. I...
• 27:25
They- RadPower or something? No, but similar- Yeah... I think. I dunno. Mm. Whatever. All right. All made in the same Chinese factory. Maybe. But I, I would say, you know- No, that's-...
• 27:34
they're pedal-assist bikes, and they have a motor, and, uh, that's how you get around town Sounds like fun. All right, everybody, next week. Thank you very much- Later... for suffering through our show this time.
• 27:43
Bye-bye. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Uh-oh. Yeah. Yeah, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Uh-oh. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. You're not done with us yet.
• 27:52
I totally, I totally [laughs] We are controlling the airwaves. No, not yet, Craig. Totally pushed the wrong button. [laughs] Now- That's what's so hard... no, you, you, you pushed the wrong lever. The wrong button.
• 28:00
No, you did this lever instead of this lever, didn't you? This lever is for Bluetooth. This lever- Oh, all right. Yeah, yeah... but this button is for station ID. Push, all right, push that button. There we go.
• 28:08
Tell me what I don't like.
• 28:12
