Latest / The Mark Simone Show / Hour 2: What did Harvey Weinstein say?
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: It's the marximone show on seventeen wor well at this hour,
- 0:11Speaker 1: I also will get to Well, it's gonna be a
- 0:14Speaker 1: beautiful day to day. It's gonna be a seventy two
- 0:16Speaker 1: should be the high right in the middle of New
- 0:17Speaker 1: York City. Seventy two will be the high today. That's great.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Stock market up. As soon as the war's over, which
- 0:24Speaker 1: could be in a few days, could be next week,
- 0:27Speaker 1: it'll go way up. And then oil prices, when will
- 0:31Speaker 1: they come down? Well, they've got to start moving tankers
- 0:34Speaker 1: through the Straits of Hormouse. It'll take possibly a navy escort.
- 0:38Speaker 1: The United States might have to provide the insurance since
- 0:42Speaker 1: Lloyd's of London is right now not ensuring any tankers.
- 0:46Speaker 1: But as soon as the first tanker or two moves
- 0:48Speaker 1: through the straits, that'll bring the prices way down. And
- 0:51Speaker 1: when will that happen? Probably next week, Probably next week,
- 0:54Speaker 1: the tankers will start moving. By the way, in California,
- 0:58Speaker 1: here's a gas station and on TikTok somebody has put
- 1:01Speaker 1: up video of the gas station showing the gas pump
- 1:05Speaker 1: eight twenty two a gallon eight dollars and twenty two
- 1:09Speaker 1: cents a gallon. Now that's Gavin Newsom. There's absolutely no
- 1:12Speaker 1: reason for that. President Trump takes office, brings gas prices
- 1:16Speaker 1: down to like two forty everywhere, but in New York
- 1:20Speaker 1: it's worth still three eighty. It's still four dollars. That's
- 1:23Speaker 1: all due to state and local taxes. Same thing. In California,
- 1:27Speaker 1: it should be about two dollars and fifty cents. Well,
- 1:29Speaker 1: with the war, it should be about three dollars and
- 1:31Speaker 1: twenty cents, but it's eight dollars and twenty cents thanks
- 1:35Speaker 1: to Gavin Newsom and all these stupid local taxes and
- 1:39Speaker 1: all this stuff. Harvey Weinstein is in prison. He's still
- 1:44Speaker 1: in Rikers Island, and he's given a big riker's interview
- 1:48Speaker 1: opening up about prison and saying that it's everybody's out
- 1:53Speaker 1: to get him in prison. Well that was He is
- 1:55Speaker 1: kind of an obnoxious guy. Even in real life. He
- 1:58Speaker 1: was a horrible guy to be around, just a big, bullyish, obnoxiouska. Anyway,
- 2:04Speaker 1: he tells one story about he was waiting to use
- 2:06Speaker 1: the phone and the guy was on the phone, and
- 2:08Speaker 1: then he said, are you done with the phone, And
- 2:11Speaker 1: the guy turned around and punched him very hard in
- 2:13Speaker 1: the face. Knocking him to the ground, blood all over
- 2:16Speaker 1: the place, in the hospital for a day or two.
- 2:19Speaker 1: He said, that's the kind of stuff that could happen
- 2:21Speaker 1: to him. So Harvey says he spends twenty three hours
- 2:24Speaker 1: a day in his cell. He's afraid to go out
- 2:27Speaker 1: in the yard when they have time to go out
- 2:28Speaker 1: there because of what will happen to him with the
- 2:30Speaker 1: other prisoners. Twenty three hours a day in his cell.
- 2:34Speaker 1: He likes to read a lot of books. He orders
- 2:37Speaker 1: books on Amazon and they get delivered. I didn't know
- 2:41Speaker 1: you could get Amazon in prison. I assume they open
- 2:46Speaker 1: up your Amazon packages and take a look at what's
- 2:48Speaker 1: in there. Now, when the guy punched him and all that,
- 2:52Speaker 1: of course they want to know who punched you, because
- 2:55Speaker 1: he was badly injured. He said, Dee, you can't rat.
- 2:57Speaker 1: That's the rut law of the jungle. You can't rat.
- 3:00Speaker 1: So I guess he did the interview to get sympathy.
- 3:03Speaker 1: I don't know, do you have any sympathy for him?
- 3:06Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, he was a bad guy,
- 3:08Speaker 1: and I mean I'm not a woman, I'm a guy.
- 3:10Speaker 1: And whenever I talked to him, I got ugly and
- 3:12Speaker 1: he'd yell and scream at you about because you weren't
- 3:16Speaker 1: supporting Hillary Clinton or something like that. He was just
- 3:19Speaker 1: so imagine, if you're a woman, you had to put
- 3:20Speaker 1: up with this guy. So he's going to stay there
- 3:24Speaker 1: for a while. They the interviewer even asked him what
- 3:27Speaker 1: about to think about how you could die in prison,
- 3:31Speaker 1: and he said, that's the one nightmare I have, dying
- 3:34Speaker 1: in prison. He's got a few kids, some of them
- 3:36Speaker 1: talk to him, some of them don't talk to him.
- 3:40Speaker 1: But he's still in Rikers Island and I don't know
- 3:42Speaker 1: does he deserve it, well, he deserves to be in
- 3:45Speaker 1: there for a little while forever. I don't know. Hey, Uber,
- 3:52Speaker 1: I don't understand this Uber policy. Now. You know, there
- 3:54Speaker 1: have been incidents where an uber driver gets a female
- 4:00Speaker 1: passenger and something terrible happens. You know, he tries to
- 4:02Speaker 1: attack the female passenger or molesse her or something, or
- 4:06Speaker 1: sexually harasses or somef So there have been incidents like this.
- 4:10Speaker 1: So Uber announces now and it's getting all kinds of
- 4:13Speaker 1: publicity everywhere that they're going to have a new thing
- 4:15Speaker 1: now where if you're a female and when you click
- 4:18Speaker 1: for an Uber, you know you can push certain things.
- 4:20Speaker 1: If you want I want a suv, I want a
- 4:22Speaker 1: regular car, I want a super luxury car. There's different
- 4:25Speaker 1: things you can you can out push if you want
- 4:27Speaker 1: a female driver. Now I understand the purpose of this
- 4:34Speaker 1: because there's some women that if you've had an incident
- 4:36Speaker 1: with an Uber driver, then you probably want to push
- 4:38Speaker 1: for a female driver. But by doing this, I'm just
- 4:44Speaker 1: thinking everything can go wrong. Well, first of all, you're
- 4:46Speaker 1: acknowledging that you got a problem by having to put
- 4:48Speaker 1: in this system, So you're acknowledging that there is a
- 4:51Speaker 1: big problem there. Also, if I were Uber and I've
- 4:55Speaker 1: had this problem, I think the answer would be you
- 4:58Speaker 1: got to learn to do better screen of who you
- 5:00Speaker 1: hire to be drivers. You got to be much more
- 5:03Speaker 1: careful who you hire. And it could be that Uber.
- 5:08Speaker 1: I don't know how hard it is to find Uber drivers,
- 5:10Speaker 1: but they need so many of them. Maybe they can't
- 5:12Speaker 1: be that fussy. So that's the problem.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Now.
- 5:15Speaker 1: The other thing is, I think every guy is now
- 5:20Speaker 1: going to push that button. Every guy's gonna want well
- 5:23Speaker 1: and not every guy, but every guy who's looking for
- 5:25Speaker 1: trouble is going to want a female driver. I mean,
- 5:27Speaker 1: so you're going to have that. You remember, they created
- 5:29Speaker 1: that dating site, Ashley Madison. It was for married people
- 5:34Speaker 1: who wanted to cheat. So if you were married, you'd
- 5:38Speaker 1: go on Ashley Madison you can meet another married person,
- 5:42Speaker 1: and that was the idea. But it turns out every
- 5:46Speaker 1: guy on Ashley Madison is single because they said, well,
- 5:49Speaker 1: this is perfect. You're gonna get a married woman who
- 5:52Speaker 1: can't really go out much and can only just run
- 5:54Speaker 1: over and have sex with in the middle of the
- 5:55Speaker 1: day and go home. So every single guy in the
- 5:58Speaker 1: world went on Ashley Madison. So I think this uber
- 6:00Speaker 1: thing could backfire. It's getting them a lot of publicity.
- 6:03Speaker 1: I guess. I guess that's good. So you know that
- 6:08Speaker 1: Phil Rosenthal who does that somebody feed Phil or whatever
- 6:12Speaker 1: that is. It's a big Netflix series. You watch Phil
- 6:15Speaker 1: Rosenthal run around the world eating things. It's not the
- 6:19Speaker 1: most exciting show, but it's very popular. It's doing very well.
- 6:22Speaker 1: It's on Netflix.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Now.
- 6:25Speaker 1: The point of this is in twenty twenty seven, he's
- 6:29Speaker 1: moving to YouTube from Netflix. Now. He's not the only
- 6:34Speaker 1: one to do this. And we'll have Bill O'Reilly on
- 6:37Speaker 1: later this hour. He's starting. He's got a big now
- 6:39Speaker 1: YouTube channel. This is something to keep an eye on
- 6:43Speaker 1: because streaming is dominated by Netflix and those sort of services.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Everybody thinks YouTube and I everybody, but a lot of
- 6:52Speaker 1: media people think YouTube could become the dominant force. It's
- 6:57Speaker 1: different from streaming and that it's open to anybody. But
- 7:00Speaker 1: it's like television. You don't have to have a subscription us.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Just go on YouTube and you can watch it. Now
- 7:04Speaker 1: you'll get commercials. But somebody feed Pill and others moving
- 7:13Speaker 1: their show from Netflix to YouTube. Look at that crazy
- 7:17Speaker 1: Piers Morgan. He just raised thirty million dollars to start
- 7:21Speaker 1: his own channel. He just hired the former president of
- 7:25Speaker 1: MSNBC to run it, and he's looking to start a
- 7:28Speaker 1: YouTube channel. Now, when you say whoa MSNBC president, that
- 7:31Speaker 1: doesn't it's not for any partisan or political reasons. He
- 7:36Speaker 1: wants her. She's apparently an expert at management infrastructure setting
- 7:40Speaker 1: up an organization. But keep an eye on YouTube too.
- 7:44Speaker 1: If he went into a coma and woke up about
- 7:47Speaker 1: five years from now, you might find that everything is
- 7:49Speaker 1: on YouTube, everything and there's a couple other services there.
- 7:54Speaker 1: If you don't have these apps, download him Pluto TV.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Pluto tv is my faceavorite app now because it has
- 8:03Speaker 1: all your favorite old shows and each show has its
- 8:06Speaker 1: own channel, so it's twenty four hours a day. Like
- 8:09Speaker 1: there's a Blue Bloods channel and you can just watch
- 8:13Speaker 1: Blue Bloods twenty four hours a day. It has a
- 8:17Speaker 1: Perry Mason channel, it has a Breaking Bad channel, it
- 8:20Speaker 1: has a Law and Order channel, twenty four hour channels,
- 8:23Speaker 1: your favorite show, all in the family, and it's free.
- 8:26Speaker 1: It's free. Now there's commercials like regular TV, not as
- 8:29Speaker 1: many as regular TV, but it has commercials. But Pluto TV.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Download it. You'll love it. Hey, Late night TV, Now
- 8:36Speaker 1: this is interesting. Conan O'Brien goes on that podcast Hot Ones.
- 8:40Speaker 1: You know, that's the one where they talk while they're
- 8:42Speaker 1: eating chicken wings and they got all those different sauces
- 8:45Speaker 1: in front of them. But he said he realized it's
- 8:48Speaker 1: really the end of late night TV. It's dead. It's gone.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Because he went on Hot Ones and his episode was
- 8:54Speaker 1: seen by fifteen million people. Now if he went on Colbert,
- 9:00Speaker 1: he might get seen by one million. That's it. And
- 9:05Speaker 1: Colbert revealed that over the last few years he's been
- 9:08Speaker 1: talking to Conan O'Brien, and Conan O'Brien has been urging
- 9:12Speaker 1: him to quit late night TV. Get the hell out
- 9:15Speaker 1: of there. He said, there's so much more to do
- 9:16Speaker 1: out there in the world. Problem is, network TV is dead,
- 9:21Speaker 1: it's dying. It's over. Network TV shows don't get much
- 9:25Speaker 1: audience anymore. The old Tonight Show with Johnny Carson on
- 9:31Speaker 1: a good night, well, an average night you get eight
- 9:33Speaker 1: nine million viewers. On a good night you get fifteen million.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Colbert Today, you're lucky if you get one million. It's
- 9:40Speaker 1: just dying. Jimmy Kimmel nothing, who's that one after Seth Myers.
- 9:44Speaker 1: It's like a couple one hundred thousand people. Nobody sees it.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Network TV does not get much viewership anymore. So Conan
- 9:55Speaker 1: was just telling Colbert, get out, go do something else,
- 9:59Speaker 1: do a podcast, do other things. You can reach many, many,
- 10:01Speaker 1: many more people urge him to quit. Now Colbert has done,
- 10:05Speaker 1: he's been fired. He'll be off the air in May.
- 10:07Speaker 1: And CBS always says it's not political, it's financial, which
- 10:11Speaker 1: means they're admitting the show's a ratings disaster. It's a
- 10:14Speaker 1: total disaster. And the difference, you know, the Colbert TV
- 10:17Speaker 1: show is about one hundred and ten employees. This Hot
- 10:21Speaker 1: Ones podcast have probably has two employees and it is
- 10:24Speaker 1: seen by ten times as many people. So you're going
- 10:27Speaker 1: to see the end of late night TV. It's hard
- 10:29Speaker 1: to believe. I mean, luckily Johnny Carson didn't live to
- 10:33Speaker 1: see the death of late night or Steve Allen, who
- 10:35Speaker 1: created it, created the Tonight Show. You know, he began
- 10:39Speaker 1: it on radio. The Tonight Show started on radio nineteen
- 10:42Speaker 1: forty nine in Los Angeles. Steve Allen, who had been
- 10:45Speaker 1: bouncing around Los Angeles radio CBS, the local station, gave
- 10:49Speaker 1: him a late night show in Los Angeles in nineteen
- 10:53Speaker 1: forty nine, late night radio show, and nobody had ever
- 10:56Speaker 1: done this before. He came out and kind of did
- 10:58Speaker 1: a monologue, and then he would go out into the
- 11:00Speaker 1: audience and talk to people and get laughs, and then
- 11:03Speaker 1: he would have celebrities on an interview. It was the
- 11:05Speaker 1: Tonight Show, and that's what he did. Became very big.
- 11:08Speaker 1: It was a huge show in Los Angeles and the
- 11:11Speaker 1: biggest stars started to listen to it and they all
- 11:13Speaker 1: wanted to come on it. It was so big that
- 11:15Speaker 1: CBS brought him to New York to do a television show.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Was the beginning of television early fifties, and they tried
- 11:21Speaker 1: a whole bunch of different things. They didn't let him
- 11:23Speaker 1: do that show, but they tried other things, game shows.
- 11:26Speaker 1: This stuff was not as successful, so the CBS contract ended,
- 11:30Speaker 1: they didn't renew it, and the local station here in
- 11:33Speaker 1: New York, channel four WNBCTV gave him a late night
- 11:37Speaker 1: show eleven thirty at night, and they said, well, what
- 11:39Speaker 1: do you want to do. He said, I'd like to
- 11:41Speaker 1: do what I did on that radio show in Los Angeles,
- 11:44Speaker 1: and he did it. It was the beginning of the
- 11:46Speaker 1: Tonight Show. It was a local show for a year,
- 11:49Speaker 1: did so well they put it on the network, and
- 11:52Speaker 1: because they had a show called Today, the Today Show,
- 11:56Speaker 1: they called this thing the Tonight Show, and that's how
- 11:58Speaker 1: it started. Steve Allen created Jack Parr was huge, Johnny
- 12:02Speaker 1: Carson was huge. Jay Leno that was like the beginning
- 12:06Speaker 1: of the end Jay Leno. He was great with the monologue,
- 12:09Speaker 1: but after that it wasn't working and he got rid
- 12:11Speaker 1: of a lot of things. No more announcer sidekick that
- 12:15Speaker 1: was Leno that first got rid of that, and then
- 12:18Speaker 1: no more new comedians being introduced all the time, big mistake.
- 12:23Speaker 1: And then but Leno was still funny and the monologue
- 12:26Speaker 1: was balanced, make fun of Democrats, make fun of Republicans.
- 12:30Speaker 1: It was perfect. Then you got that next generation. Well,
- 12:33Speaker 1: actually he was Letterman when he went to CBS. About
- 12:37Speaker 1: six years into the CBS show, he started to go
- 12:39Speaker 1: very partisan. And you remember the last five years of Letterman.
- 12:43Speaker 1: The monologue was ridiculously partisan and tough to watch. He
- 12:47Speaker 1: got lost half his audience that way. And then Colbert
- 12:51Speaker 1: came along and completely destroyed late night TV, and Kimmel
- 12:55Speaker 1: got even worse so partisan, some nasty ugly that had
- 12:59Speaker 1: just destroyed Late Night and it's pretty much gone. Watch
- 13:02Speaker 1: when Colbert goes off the air in May, there won't
- 13:03Speaker 1: be another talk show. There'll be a game show, something
- 13:06Speaker 1: much cheaper. And remember when they took Kimmel off for
- 13:09Speaker 1: a week, they put on reruns of Password and it
- 13:13Speaker 1: got triple the ratings, triple the ratings of Kimmel. So
- 13:17Speaker 1: you'll see that happen with Colbert and then with Kimmel.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Maybe the Tonight Show will stay a little longer. Hey,
- 13:23Speaker 1: we'll take some calls. Next eight hundred three to two
- 13:26Speaker 1: one zero seven ten is the number eight hundred three
- 13:30Speaker 1: two one zero seven ten. You know we're having that
- 13:33Speaker 1: big networking event March nineteenth, a lot of business leaders
- 13:38Speaker 1: CEOs March nineteenth, six to eight pm. There is this
- 13:42Speaker 1: beautiful new office building two Park Avenue, Park Avenue and
- 13:47Speaker 1: thirty fourth Street, and they got a big venue if
- 13:50Speaker 1: you're looking to do a corporate event, nice venue on
- 13:52Speaker 1: the top with beautiful views of New York in the skyline.
- 13:56Speaker 1: It's got a great outdoor terrace. So we're going to
- 13:58Speaker 1: do a big park already there. Networking event if you
- 14:01Speaker 1: want to meet some business leaders decision makers, March nineteenth
- 14:05Speaker 1: from six to eight pm. I'll be there. Larry Mint,
- 14:07Speaker 1: he'll be there. Curtis Lee what will be there. He'll
- 14:11Speaker 1: make a little speech. He's a great speaker. And you
- 14:14Speaker 1: can be there now. The space is very limited, so
- 14:16Speaker 1: you've got a RSVP. You can do that by going
- 14:19Speaker 1: to seven ten wr dot com slash live seven ten
- 14:26Speaker 1: wor dot com slash live set up.
- 14:29Speaker 4: Re said on the iHeartRadio app to wor to hear
- 14:33Speaker 4: Mark live.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Set another for Mark's podcast to hear him anytime now
- 14:38Speaker 1: back to Mark Zimone on woor. Hey, let's take some calls.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Let's go to Stuart north Bergen. Stuart, how you doing
- 14:48Speaker 1: very good?
- 14:48Speaker 4: Mark thanks for taking my call. The reason I'm calling,
- 14:52Speaker 4: you know, hearing your monologue about Kimo and the other
- 14:55Speaker 4: guy in Colbert. I started recently watching on a certain
- 14:59Speaker 4: network reruns of Johnny Carson, and uh, it's just fantastic.
- 15:04Speaker 4: I'm watching Rickles last night, I'm watching Charles Groden. That
- 15:08Speaker 4: was entertainment.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Yeah, it's every night like eleven to twelve. Is it
- 15:11Speaker 1: Antenna TV or one of those?
- 15:13Speaker 4: That's correct, its Antenna TV. I was just curious more
- 15:16Speaker 4: if you would know. I mean, I don't think comparing
- 15:19Speaker 4: the current late night shows to Gutville Play. Of course,
- 15:23Speaker 4: Guttbell comes on at ten. These other guys come on,
- 15:26Speaker 4: I guess at eleven thirty. I've never watched either one
- 15:28Speaker 4: of those shows, but the Antenna TV Carson reruns are
- 15:32Speaker 4: on at eleven. I'm just curious to know if what
- 15:36Speaker 4: the audience is for that. Of course it's cable and
- 15:39Speaker 4: it's not.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Yeah, it's Antenna TV, so it's uh, it gets a
- 15:41Speaker 1: pretty good audience. Those Carson reruns, you can, you can
- 15:45Speaker 1: tell because they've been on for about a year. They're
- 15:47Speaker 1: still on every night Monday through Friday Antenna TV. You
- 15:51Speaker 1: can also go on YouTube and almost every Johnny Carson
- 15:54Speaker 1: everything is on YouTube. In fact, if you want to
- 15:56Speaker 1: just watch old TV, YouTube is phenomenally every episode of
- 16:00Speaker 1: What's My Line? Or The Match Game or anything anything
- 16:04Speaker 1: that was ever on television, The Dean Martin Show, Johnny Carson,
- 16:07Speaker 1: it's all on YouTube and you can watch it anytime
- 16:10Speaker 1: you want.
- 16:11Speaker 3: Uh.
- 16:12Speaker 1: And Gutfeld is a good show. You know Gutfeld always
- 16:15Speaker 1: I always try to catch that opening monologue and it's
- 16:17Speaker 1: it's like Carson, it's both say, he goes after both sides.
- 16:20Speaker 1: And Jimmy Fayla probably has the best late night show
- 16:23Speaker 1: Saturday nights at ten, and that monologue, that's the closest
- 16:26Speaker 1: thing you'll get to Carson in TV Today. Let's go
- 16:30Speaker 1: to Tom in point pleasant, Tom, how you doing? What good?
- 16:36Speaker 2: Are just cool to tell you that I want him
- 16:39Speaker 2: stealer the other night?
- 16:40Speaker 1: What you did?
- 16:41Speaker 2: What I watched him?
- 16:44Speaker 1: You watch? Does anybody understand what he's saying? What did
- 16:49Speaker 1: you watch? Jimmy Oh, Jimmy Fayler, Okay, he's terrible? Would
- 16:57Speaker 1: you get speech lessons from Joe Biden?
- 17:01Speaker 2: Keep saying how great? How grad he was?
- 17:03Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 17:03Speaker 1: I don't think it's a it's not a show for you.
- 17:05Speaker 1: It's for normal people. But anyway, thanks for Colin. Let's
- 17:09Speaker 1: go to Vincent and Brooklyn. Vincent, how you doing.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark, I'm okay. You got me cracking up. Mark,
- 17:17Speaker 2: talk about dumb and dubbing. These two stupid terrorists who
- 17:21Speaker 2: threw a bomb at the police near Gray Steam Mansion.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Talk about the easiest way to wind up in federal prison.
- 17:30Speaker 2: First off, throw a bomb at the cops and then
- 17:34Speaker 2: secondly crossed the state line from Pennsylvania into New York
- 17:40Speaker 2: to do it. I mean, these kids shouldn't even hire
- 17:43Speaker 2: a lawyer. They just shift sess up because they're gonna
- 17:48Speaker 2: be and they even spoke about their intentions. They're gonna
- 17:52Speaker 2: go away for twenty to twenty five years.
- 17:54Speaker 1: That's a good point. In fact, they cops had body
- 17:56Speaker 1: camps and Susie rest of kids. The kids kept talking.
- 17:59Speaker 2: And what a friend of mine once said, the only fish,
- 18:06Speaker 2: and he meant to sit in a literal sense the
- 18:09Speaker 2: figurative sense, the only fish who get caught are the
- 18:13Speaker 2: ones who open their mouth. Mark, you had a great
- 18:17Speaker 2: idea of many times I heard you say it now Mandami,
- 18:22Speaker 2: because they're pressed, he's pressed for cash, wants to everybody
- 18:26Speaker 2: has to have a permit to pocket car in the street.
- 18:30Speaker 2: That's his latest scam. Mark, as I heard you say,
- 18:34Speaker 2: why not all these electric bicycles, these motorized motorcycles and
- 18:41Speaker 2: even some of these city bikes that you have to
- 18:44Speaker 2: have a minimum amount of insurance. You have to have
- 18:47Speaker 2: a registration, and you have to have like a plate.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Remember when we were kids, on the back of the bicycle,
- 18:54Speaker 2: underneath the seat, they'd have a vanity plate. You'd go
- 18:58Speaker 2: get them made up in u ware of at the
- 19:01Speaker 2: hardware store. They sold these with your name on a
- 19:04Speaker 2: Jimmy or whatever your name was. But that's what they
- 19:07Speaker 2: should do to raid it to raise money. Make these
- 19:10Speaker 2: people have to get minimum insurance registration, especially for the
- 19:16Speaker 2: motorized ones. And now City Bike has electric motorized bicycles.
- 19:24Speaker 2: There should be an extra feed charge that when these
- 19:27Speaker 2: people pull out one of these motorized bikes, that there's
- 19:31Speaker 2: an extra feed charge for some kind of insurance, because
- 19:35Speaker 2: if you get hit with that one of these bikes,
- 19:38Speaker 2: you're in trouble. Mark. Yes, and these bicycle lanes are
- 19:42Speaker 2: a bunch of bs. Because yesterday I was out and
- 19:46Speaker 2: about shopping and these bicycle lanes are supposed to supposed
- 19:50Speaker 2: to go with the traffic. They're going every which way
- 19:53Speaker 2: in these bicycle lanes. They're not following the traffic laws.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Vincent, excellent point, excellent call. Thanks for call. He's absolutely
- 20:01Speaker 1: right all these revenue schemes, congestion pricing. Now, I want
- 20:04Speaker 1: to charge for every parking space in the here. He's right,
- 20:09Speaker 1: all over the place, there's nothing but bikes, electric bikes, scooters.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Start charging them, make them all get licenses, Charge for
- 20:16Speaker 1: the license, yearly renewal fee, registration, yearly renewal fee. Start
- 20:22Speaker 1: giving them tickets. You know that giving out those tickets
- 20:26Speaker 1: big source of revenue. With those bikes, you'd be giving
- 20:28Speaker 1: out a billion tickets a day. They're always on the sidewalk,
- 20:32Speaker 1: changing lanes, illegally, going through red lights. Start ticketing them.
- 20:37Speaker 1: You'd make a fortune. You race all the revenue you need.
- 20:40Speaker 1: Not to mention, you'd be forcing them to start to
- 20:44Speaker 1: ride around in a more orderly way and not go
- 20:46Speaker 1: running over everybody. Perfect, good point, Vincent, Thanks for calling. Hey,
- 20:51Speaker 1: when we come back, Bill O'Reilly will be with us.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Got a new uh we're talking about everybody moving on YouTube.
- 20:57Speaker 1: There's another new trend starting. We'll get to that with
- 21:01Speaker 1: him in a moment on seven to ten, work.
- 21:04Speaker 3: Simon delivering news on seventeen w line.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Well, Bill O'Reilly, number one TV anchor for decades, number
- 21:15Speaker 1: one best selling author. We got you can watch his
- 21:18Speaker 1: TV show, get his message of the day, the columns,
- 21:21Speaker 1: everything at Bill O'Reilly dot com. Also make sure you
- 21:25Speaker 1: watch his YouTube channel. Great stuff there, and he's got
- 21:27Speaker 1: a new venture we'll talk about in a second. Bill O'Reilly,
- 21:30Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 21:32Speaker 3: You know I'm busy like you never ends, right, the
- 21:36Speaker 3: cycle never ends.
- 21:37Speaker 1: I know that you keep adding stuff. Now you've got
- 21:39Speaker 1: a new podcast. Tell us about this?
- 21:42Speaker 3: Yeah, we're calling it. We'll do it live. Basically that
- 21:47Speaker 3: comes from a phrase I said when I was twelve
- 21:50Speaker 3: years old on television. Yeah, but you know that you
- 21:52Speaker 3: have bombs that everybody remembers that the missing story behind
- 21:58Speaker 3: it anchoring inside edition and the technical.
- 22:04Speaker 5: People could not get the the stuff to work, so
- 22:12Speaker 5: we usually taped our leads and I just exploded because
- 22:16Speaker 5: I was sitting there for like a half an hour
- 22:17Speaker 5: and they were just screwing up one after another.
- 22:20Speaker 3: So I said, I do it live, And you know,
- 22:22Speaker 3: if you have bombs DA. They recorded that and somebody
- 22:27Speaker 3: sold it to a website for pretty big money I understand, really,
- 22:34Speaker 3: and that's how it got out into the public. So
- 22:37Speaker 3: of course we try to use all of that stuff
- 22:40Speaker 3: to our advantage. So my staff, younger people say let's
- 22:45Speaker 3: call a new podcast, We'll do it live. I didn't
- 22:48Speaker 3: want to do that, you know, they insisted. So podcast
- 22:54Speaker 3: every Thursday, and we kick it off this week with
- 22:58Speaker 3: Rob Schneider. He was very good, the SNL guy, and uh,
- 23:06Speaker 3: you know, he's an only Adam Sandler movies and he's
- 23:08Speaker 3: a Trump guy and he's played a big.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Price for it.
- 23:11Speaker 3: So that's our first one coming up on Thursday.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Let me just say this about will do It Live.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Every TV host I've ever known, every TV studio I've
- 23:21Speaker 1: ever been in, there's always a moment where the control
- 23:23Speaker 1: room screws up and he yells like that at the
- 23:25Speaker 1: control That's every host ever in the history of television.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Can you of course, anybody that.
- 23:31Speaker 3: Didn't know that, right, And when you're working is intensely
- 23:36Speaker 3: as we have to work. You're included in this simone,
- 23:41Speaker 3: you know, and and somebody just continues to screw up
- 23:44Speaker 3: time after time after time you lose patience unless you're
- 23:48Speaker 3: a robot. I don't care. I don't regret doing it.
- 23:53Speaker 2: You know.
- 23:54Speaker 3: But the mercenary aspect of oh yeah, we'll get some
- 23:56Speaker 3: money for this, that's a little that's a little torture.
- 23:59Speaker 1: I think I can vouch. It's every TV host ever
- 24:02Speaker 1: and every radio host has done that. It's common. So
- 24:05Speaker 1: where do we go to watch this podcast?
- 24:09Speaker 3: It's on bill O'Reilly dot com and in all of
- 24:11Speaker 3: our ansleres YouTube everywhere, but bill O'Reilly dot coms where
- 24:18Speaker 3: we live, and people just punch that up. Very easy.
- 24:22Speaker 3: Shows you where the notespin news is shows you where
- 24:24Speaker 3: the podcast is shows you where the columns are very
- 24:28Speaker 3: easy one stop shopping?
- 24:29Speaker 1: All right? Well, the first podcast, the first episode comes
- 24:32Speaker 1: out Thursday. Hey, also, you got this YouTube channel? Now
- 24:35Speaker 1: I'm reading that. Phil Rosenthal, who's got a big, big
- 24:39Speaker 1: hit on Netflix for years, big Netflix show is moving
- 24:42Speaker 1: to YouTube next year. What is it with this YouTube?
- 24:45Speaker 1: Everybody wants to be there.
- 24:48Speaker 3: Because it's easy for younger people to access it. So
- 24:52Speaker 3: older people they don't know. But if you're under fifty,
- 24:57Speaker 3: chances are you're not watching linear TV at all. Yeah,
- 25:01Speaker 3: and so your entertainment then comes from YouTube, where you
- 25:05Speaker 3: can get music, you can get movies, you can get shows,
- 25:09Speaker 3: you can get whatever you want. And that surge and
- 25:12Speaker 3: it's a worldwide thing. It's not just national. So I
- 25:15Speaker 3: get letters in Thailand and Sri Lanka and South Africa
- 25:19Speaker 3: and you know, all these places because there's no boundary
- 25:22Speaker 3: to it. And the audience is enormous, so we get
- 25:28Speaker 3: millions of hits, which means millions of people come in
- 25:32Speaker 3: to watch certain things that we post on YouTube, and
- 25:36Speaker 3: then we can sell those as far as advertising is concerned,
- 25:39Speaker 3: because the younger people are watching that and that's who
- 25:42Speaker 3: the advertisers want to reach. So it's extremely lucrative and
- 25:46Speaker 3: it cuts out the corporations so they can't control it anymore,
- 25:51Speaker 3: and it goes right into the entrepreneurs. The danger on
- 25:56Speaker 3: that is there isn't any editing, and people do it
- 26:00Speaker 3: responsible things on YouTube to try to make money. So
- 26:04Speaker 3: that's a danger. But the good news is that the
- 26:06Speaker 3: freedom of expression has expanded by one thousandfold since YouTube
- 26:11Speaker 3: is dominating.
- 26:13Speaker 1: Wow, Well watch Bill O'Reilly YouTube, great channel, and let
- 26:17Speaker 1: me ask you about the war. I'm Hakeem Jeffries Chuck Schumer.
- 26:21Speaker 1: They keep talking about the endless war. Trump promised no
- 26:24Speaker 1: endless war at day eleven. What endless war? It's one
- 26:28Speaker 1: week and a half.
- 26:30Speaker 3: Sure, But the Democratic Party is doing what it did
- 26:32Speaker 3: in Vietnam. It's setting itself up as the dissent for
- 26:38Speaker 3: any kind of military action. And I'm not sure that
- 26:43Speaker 3: is a good move right now. So it's risky and
- 26:46Speaker 3: a part of President Trump, no doubt.
- 26:49Speaker 2: And if the Iran.
- 26:49Speaker 3: Thing does not work out, then you're gonna have our
- 26:53Speaker 3: time the Republicans are in November. But if it does
- 26:56Speaker 3: work out and those mullas are cost and you get
- 27:01Speaker 3: a more moderate government than the Democratic Party once again
- 27:04Speaker 3: is going to be on wrong side of the issue
- 27:07Speaker 3: once again. I mean, they don't want voter IDs, they
- 27:11Speaker 3: want trans people playing against women on the field. I mean,
- 27:15Speaker 3: how many how many mistakes you're going to make. So
- 27:18Speaker 3: rather than being neutral on it and saying, okay, we
- 27:24Speaker 3: understand the threat Iron poses the world, radical elements of
- 27:29Speaker 3: the Democratic Party and the leadership as well, they go, well,
- 27:35Speaker 3: we don't really want to take out the molls. We're
- 27:39Speaker 3: content in letting them have a nuclear weapon. That's insane.
- 27:44Speaker 3: So there's big risk political risk on both sides here.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Yeah, but when you would just think if we came
- 27:54Speaker 1: back a month and a half from now, this'll all
- 27:55Speaker 1: be wrapped up.
- 27:59Speaker 2: But you just know.
- 28:01Speaker 3: Because it's a police state in Iran, it's not a cube.
- 28:05Speaker 3: But Cuba is going to fold any day now, has to.
- 28:09Speaker 3: They can't feed their people, all right. Ra's still got
- 28:13Speaker 3: that police state intact. So you saw these revolutionary Guide
- 28:17Speaker 3: guys going out and killing you. I mean, the estimate
- 28:20Speaker 3: is thirty thousand protesters have been killed in the last
- 28:24Speaker 3: month or so in Iran. I mean, people are fighting.
- 28:26Speaker 3: They don't want to get a bullet in the head,
- 28:29Speaker 3: and that is very difficult to dislodge from the air
- 28:35Speaker 3: and from the seat. But Americans are not going to
- 28:39Speaker 3: support Grand troops in Iran. They will not, and that
- 28:42Speaker 3: would be the end of the Trump administration if he
- 28:44Speaker 3: did that.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Yeah, go back to what you said, Cuba is going
- 28:48Speaker 1: to fall at any you really, oh yeah.
- 28:52Speaker 3: And the way that's going to come out is they're
- 28:55Speaker 3: going to make it a deal or a treaty with
- 28:59Speaker 3: the United States, whereby they are going to repudiate their
- 29:04Speaker 3: communist approach, going to open up the free marketplace and
- 29:11Speaker 3: the USA will help them quote unquote rebuild their economy,
- 29:16Speaker 3: and it'll pretty much be Venezuela. Washington will dictate to
- 29:20Speaker 3: Havana what they're going to do, and that's the model,
- 29:24Speaker 3: and I think that's going to happen.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Wow. Now Cuba could make a fortune. It's a beautiful
- 29:30Speaker 1: Caribbean paradise.
- 29:32Speaker 3: Oh, it's incredible. I was there a few years ago
- 29:36Speaker 3: at Varadaro Beach, which is about eight miles outside Havana,
- 29:40Speaker 3: one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. The
- 29:44Speaker 3: hotel was a disaster. They didn't even have towels. They
- 29:48Speaker 3: didn't have towels, so look at the other well, how
- 29:52Speaker 3: is it dry off here?
- 29:54Speaker 2: Oh?
- 29:56Speaker 3: But the property was unbelievable. And the big money in
- 30:02Speaker 3: day County, all Cuban is going to go right back
- 30:06Speaker 3: into Cuban boom wow. And that place is going to
- 30:10Speaker 3: be in five years an unbelievable destination and they'll have gambling.
- 30:16Speaker 3: It'll be just like it was before Castro took over
- 30:21Speaker 3: in nineteen fifty nine, with the exception of it's not
- 30:24Speaker 3: going to be run by gangsters. You know the Godfather
- 30:26Speaker 3: too is true if you watch that movie. I mean,
- 30:30Speaker 3: gangsters were controlling the Baptista government. But now you could
- 30:35Speaker 3: probably make the case that d C full of gangsters too,
- 30:39Speaker 3: but the American government will be calling the shots in Nevana.
- 30:43Speaker 1: Wow, it'd be great to bring back mayer Lansky and
- 30:46Speaker 1: those guys. And I haven't got a living.
- 30:50Speaker 3: The Landski Hotel a boutique experience.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Well that's great news. Well, everybody watched Bill O'Reilly. Go
- 30:58Speaker 1: to YouTube, watch this channel there. Make sure you go
- 31:01Speaker 1: to Bill O'Reilly dot com and you get the TV
- 31:03Speaker 1: show The Message of the Day. And once again Thursday,
- 31:09Speaker 1: When does it come out? Thursday? The new podcast.
- 31:11Speaker 3: Yeah, we dropped probably about six o'clock or something like that,
- 31:16Speaker 3: so everybody will be amused. It's it's it's different. You know,
- 31:20Speaker 3: most podcasts the moona a guy sitting around and sweatshirts,
- 31:23Speaker 3: smoking pot. You know, that's what they do. It's somebody's garage.
- 31:27Speaker 3: That's not what we do. This is a real upscale,
- 31:30Speaker 3: a good information flow, and Schneider really does a nice
- 31:34Speaker 3: job with it. And then the following a week from Thursday,
- 31:38Speaker 3: we got Steve Shirrippa.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Oh we love him. Well, all right, everybody watched the
- 31:44Speaker 1: new podcast called We'll Do It Live. Bill O'Reilly's new
- 31:46Speaker 1: podcast debuts premieres Thursday around six o'clock. Make sure you
- 31:51Speaker 1: watch it will remind you and Bill O'Reilly thanks for
- 31:54Speaker 1: being with.
- 31:55Speaker 2: Us, guys having me Mark appreciate it.
