- 0:01Good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome.
- 0:03It is time now for one on one with the pros. And I
- 0:07got to tell you we got the pros and they know a few things and
- 0:09we're going to be talking to them today and they're from a Trudy Credit Union.
- 0:13And I want to make sure that I get that nice little logo in
- 0:16the camera just right there we go. Life's a beautiful thing, isn't it.
- 0:20There there we are, and once again we have Becky Gaily, who's
- 0:24senior mortgage development director, and Paika. And please forgive me because I am
- 0:31having a difficulty pronouncing your last name. It is Abradovich. Very good,
- 0:38Yes, sir, I should have known. I've lived in the Chicago area.
- 0:40There's so many people with that last name when I was and you're the
- 0:44vice president of mortgage servicing. So welcome you both to the show here today.
- 0:51Beautiful day is always here in Bartlesville, especially when you guys show up
- 0:55here. The rates. Tell us about the rates. I hear we got
- 0:59good news about the rates. Kind of kind of yeah. I think they've
- 1:03stabilized, they've kind of flattened out. They're still up higher than they have
- 1:08been in the past. But the good thing is they're not really increasing right
- 1:14now. Well that's a good thing. That's a good thing. And I
- 1:15understand that the market is very active right now. How active is it?
- 1:19It is getting more active than what he was. And Becky can definitely speak
- 1:26to that is turning green. So people are out and looking and buying,
- 1:30and yeah, it's getting busy. You know something it does that somebody will
- 1:34spend a winter in their home and they say, that's the last winter I'm
- 1:38spending air. Yeah, and then they want to look for something fresh and
- 1:42new. And folks really sometimes they don't put their houses up in the winter
- 1:46time. You know what people trounce throughout bringing the blood and stuff. Yeah,
- 1:49but boy, I tell you what, you get that first with a
- 1:52spring open houses like crazy. Yes. So I imagine it is active,
- 1:57active, active. And when it comes to getting a mortgage, getting it
- 2:05at a credit union is probably your best bet. I think, so.
- 2:08Biased a little bit, a little bit, tell us a little bit about
- 2:12the difference between your competitors and yourself. I think the main difference with everybody
- 2:17else in Truity is that really Truity is competitive on the rates we always offer
- 2:23the best rates we can. And also we only charge our fees, I
- 2:28guess you could say, is only what it costs to do a mortgage loan.
- 2:32We don't have any junk fees that go into the lenders' pockets. We
- 2:37really just try and be the best for our members as far as financially goes.
- 2:43And once again, you know you're the only local lender, aren't you.
- 2:46When it comes right down to it, the money that's used is the
- 2:50money made here? Yeah, absolutely. I mean it's not just local lender
- 2:53from the lending perspective, but also from the servicing as well. And I
- 2:58think that's definitely a rarity in our industry to have both lending and servicing being
- 3:04local. And the advantage to our members is, you know, mortgages are
- 3:07probably one of the most complex loans and you know, the more important loans
- 3:13that they will get in their life. And to have a dedicated team here
- 3:17in barterleswell for our members that can answer questions over the phone or get face
- 3:23to face meetings where we can explain certain things or those complex things that are
- 3:28kind of connected to a mortgage loan. It is really a unique experience and
- 3:34a unique benefit that our members do have, and we're very we take a
- 3:38lot of pride in being able to provide that to our membership. Oh my
- 3:43goodness says that. It's absolutely amazing. And when we think about all of
- 3:46that that goes into it, you got to feel like you're safe because you're
- 3:52dealing with hometown people and every bit of that business is being conducted right here
- 3:58in your stay at a hometown. We're real people. We live here,
- 4:00we work here, we play here, and so I think that's special too.
- 4:04When you're getting a mortgage with Truity, you're working with your community.
- 4:11Oh indeed, indeed, And of course we've been here a long time.
- 4:15Trudy was birthed basically right here in Bartlesville with a handful of ladies exchanging quarters.
- 4:20Yep, a long time ago. So with that history, it's it's
- 4:26really something else. Now you have the beautiful facility downtown, but I understand
- 4:30you have another one just down the road a little bit on Washington. Yeah,
- 4:33Washington South, we call it Wasso. Yeah, there you go.
- 4:38I'll tell you what. It's beautiful. It looks like, you know,
- 4:40you've done a lot of work to it, and boy, brand spanking new
- 4:45have the new driveway looks good. Yeah, a lot better. You've got
- 4:48a lot of new toys down there too, with your automatic. Yeah,
- 4:53it's called that I t I am itm interactive teller machines, and I think
- 5:00it's just going to look better and better in the future because we are investing
- 5:03in our facilities heavily and you know, making it better and more accessible to
- 5:08our membership. I know I went a little bit off course on that one,
- 5:11but I saw that and I'm like, go, well, darn,
- 5:14that's golf and it seems like it's you know, it's kind of neat when
- 5:18it pops up right here in your own home towns. Well, yeah,
- 5:21I like that. Bartlesville, look at it now. It is good.
- 5:25Servicing is local and and all servicing, but everything you do is local,
- 5:30and that is really a good testimony is to feeling safe, feeling secure,
- 5:35feeling confident in the people you're doing business with. It's nice to know,
- 5:42like when you are getting a mortgage loan, that all hands that are involved
- 5:46in the mortgage are all right there together, so we were all in the
- 5:50same floor, from me the originator, to the processor to the underwriter.
- 5:56And then when the loan closes, you're you're always going to deal with Truity,
- 6:01so you're there for the entire process, right absolutely, so again truly
- 6:05takes care of the lending process obviously on the lending side and Becky's processing,
- 6:12and then once you're completely done with finally getting your mortgage loan and getting into
- 6:16the house that you want to get, you do have a dedicated mortgage servicing
- 6:19team that is on the same floor, and we are obviously in constant communication
- 6:24with the lending side as well. So if there's you know, if members
- 6:28feel more comfortable reaching out to their mdo just because of the relationship that they
- 6:33have established, they absolutely can do that and then will chime in and help
- 6:38on the backside with whatever is needed. That's teamwork to the hill, isn't
- 6:42it. Yes? Absolutely? What is it? Teamwork? Teamwork makes the
- 6:46dream work. Yes, teamwork makes the dream work. I like that.
- 6:49Yeah, got all kinds of cool stuff going on down there, Truity Credit
- 6:54Union of course right here in bartles Will. But you also have some new
- 6:59satellite of locations in Kansas now these days. Yeah, you have how many
- 7:04popping up like popping up like daisies. Yeah, that's really kind of cool
- 7:09to know that it's growing. We are. But one thing I can say,
- 7:13I am I'm a customer, so you know, a member, I
- 7:17know how this feels, I know how it's worked. It's just a feeling
- 7:20of security and you know you're not going to go wrong. You're not going
- 7:25to get a letter from New York or LA or Chicago or somebody you don't
- 7:29know asking questions of you. You're going to get it from somebody you do.
- 7:34Know. One thing I like about the folks at Trudy, I see
- 7:38you all at just about everything that goes on in town, whether it's a
- 7:43sporting event, whether it's the child our activities with our kids at school,
- 7:46and maybe it's just a fun event. Downtown truity Is usually has a few
- 7:51of its members actively participating in the fun in the fabric of our community,
- 7:57which is really a good testament. Yeah's favorite part of the job is being
- 8:01out in the community and getting to play and yeah, always doing something.
- 8:05Now, oh yeah, keep you on your and I'll just I mean appreciate
- 8:09you being the member and appreciate your feedback on you know, the business and
- 8:13the world that we're conducting here. And like Becky said, we're here to
- 8:16live, we're here to play, and you know, this is our community
- 8:20as well, and we are happy to come or to try to make it
- 8:28a better place for all of us to live. You know, I understand
- 8:31we've got some folks that are going to be moving in because our community and
- 8:35our partners and our job providers have done a wonderful job of bringing a new
- 8:43business to Bartleswell. Pretty soon, we're going to have some new workers from
- 8:46a new company called Blue Whale, right and then we're going to have some
- 8:50other folks coming in for a big electric company that's coming into tab abb Is
- 8:54bringing in a whole ton of folks. And so if you know, if
- 8:58you're here in town, folks and you're just listening to our voice, take
- 9:03a little hint here. This is where you want to go. If you're
- 9:05going to pick up moves. Yeah. Now we'll get the paperwork rolling and
- 9:13we'll make sure that you're going to get a great deal that you're going to
- 9:15be comfortable with. Like you said that, I think the thing that's going
- 9:18to make a lot of people feel really good right now is that the rates
- 9:20have stabilized. They're not going to change every ten minutes every couple of days
- 9:26or so. The roller coaster ride might be like you say, coming to
- 9:31the level, the level part. It hasn't gone completely down yet, but
- 9:35it's come come down and flattened out, which I think for a lot of
- 9:39folks it makes them just feel a little bit more comfortable. Yeah, I
- 9:41think so. I think people are finally understanding the rates are what they are
- 9:46and probably not going to go down for a while and so, but but
- 9:52you know what you're dealing with. You know what you're dealing with. When
- 9:54you need a home, you need a home, and if you know you
- 9:58need alone, you need a loan. And the thing is is that sometimes
- 10:05you can come back and revisit, you know, a few years down the
- 10:07road. But the thing is, if you lock in now, and you
- 10:11lock in with good people, you're going to find the trust is there,
- 10:13and you're going to find that if you have a question, I have to
- 10:16is pick up the phone or just walk in really and you're going to be
- 10:20right there, face to face. And it's not going to be an experience
- 10:24that you'll say that you were on hold forever, because that doesn't happen to
- 10:28truly. Nope, I know, and it's all about making good friends.
- 10:31It's all about making good things happen in our community. Now, what about
- 10:37for folks who are building a home? Can you help them out there with
- 10:39the loan? Is that how that mortgage thing works with the building a home
- 10:43tours? Yeah, we can do their construction loans, is what we do.
- 10:46But that's what it's called them. Yeah, and we can help with
- 10:48that all right, and then of course with our established homes. And I'm
- 10:52starting to see some signs pop up, so you know, you might have
- 10:54been right about that spring thing. Yeah, grass is green. That's when
- 10:58the business picks up. Grass is green. Right there on the stretch of
- 11:03road where I'm on. I think I saw three or four pop up,
- 11:09I know, And it was all because you know, they're retiring, they're
- 11:11going someplace else to visit the grandkids and everything. When they're leaving, these
- 11:16very nice homes have very little to you know, improve upon, so you
- 11:22know, check your realtor, and then of course check truity as far as
- 11:26getting everything taken care of and pushed through, because you know, I wouldn't
- 11:31mind having you folks as neighbors. I mean, come on, I mean,
- 11:33more the merrier this is a great town. And of course if you're
- 11:37coming in with these new companies and you're checking things out, you know,
- 11:41make sure you check around to with a Truity and make sure that you make
- 11:46that your home too. And now, as a credit union, it only
- 11:50differs from a bank only in the essence that we are members. We have
- 11:56a say in how everything goes. If you go to let's say, another
- 12:01form of a financial institution, you don't have that. You're just you know,
- 12:07you're just a customer exactly. Yeah, and that makes it kind of
- 12:11sweet. Yeah, the credit unions are not for profit, so we don't
- 12:15have shareholders. And I mean, really, you work for us, the
- 12:18member works for us. You help make those decisions. And what I like
- 12:24also is that Truity gives back to the community and the forum with the schools
- 12:30and things like that. If there is money to be made, it is
- 12:33shared right here in the community, and it's shared with the members too.
- 12:37It is shared throughout the community, and it also shared through the rates that
- 12:39we can provide, side deposit, side all of those things. So really,
- 12:45like Becky said, it is a non for profit. No, it
- 12:48is a non for profit, but we do need profit to be able to
- 12:50sustain our business model. But all the profits are really reinvested, like we
- 12:56mentioned, in the community and for the betterment of of our members. You're
- 13:00not into it to go broke. We got to be stable. I just
- 13:03like the rates. You got to be stable. Yes, Now you have
- 13:07a website. Where can folks go to check out your website TRUCU dot org.
- 13:13That's what it says right here in my queue card. I should have
- 13:16done that. Yes, And now if you're going on the website folks and
- 13:20I have you can find anything you want. You can find any department you
- 13:24want, and you have frequently asked questions a little pop up you can you
- 13:30can check into that. And if you just plane have something that's not there
- 13:33and maybe not thought of it before, you can do get it on the
- 13:35search stasine and we even have telephone folks that will help you out during regular
- 13:39business hours. It'll help answer your question. And you're not going to be
- 13:41on home for forty five minutes like the I r S. Right. Yeah,
- 13:48it's all going to be right there and it's all gonna happen for you.
- 13:50Well, the pro because it's actually two on one, they are the
- 13:54pros and I'm just the one dummy over here doing talking. You're pretty awesome.
- 14:00Flattery will get you everywhere. But once again, if you are looking
- 14:05for a home, or if you're in the midst of shopping around, please
- 14:11make sure that Truity is one of the people that you contact when you're looking
- 14:15for your mortgage, and they'll think you to the process nice and easy.
- 14:18There's not going to be any pressure. In fact, it's going to be
- 14:20probably the nicest ride you've ever had when buying a home. You're doing it
- 14:26with friends, you're doing it with neighbors, You're doing it with people you
- 14:28know and people you trust. That is Truity Credit Union. Want everybody stay
- 14:33tuned because we've got our news coming up in just a little bit from CBS.
- 14:37Also on the way, we have our local news following, and then
- 14:41Brian killed me to get you through the midday. Right now, fifty four
- 14:43degrees in the sunshine. We're looking for a high today right around seventy four
- 14:48with a ten percent chance of rain a little bit later on thirty percent chance
- 14:52overnight and rain likely tomorrow. I'm not going to complain about the rain,
- 14:54because I complained about it once. And we went a drought. It wasn't
- 14:58good, all right, Stay tuned, compassion, excellence, stuff you new
