- 0:28Now let's get into the episode. Hello, everyone, and welcome to
- 0:32the Doctor Randy Show where we talk beauty, innovation and
- 0:36everything shaping the future of aesthetics.
- 0:38Today we have a very special guest.
- 0:41She is the powerhouse in modern aesthetics, a surgeon, an
- 0:45educator, and an innovator shaping the future of the
- 0:48industry. She has built a platform that
- 0:50empowers injectors and inspires patients around the world.
- 0:54And she's leading the conversation on what's next in
- 0:58beauty. Please welcome Doctor K Deray
- 1:00Raj. Thank you, Randy, it's such a
- 1:03joy to chat with you. Thanks for being inviting me and
- 1:06I'm excited to talk about what's new in aesthetics.
- 1:09Absolutely. Well, we've been working
- 1:11together on a couple of projects, so it's my pleasure to
- 1:13have you on the show today. And I know our listeners and
- 1:16viewers. As you know, you're a social
- 1:18media sensation, so we're excited to fill them in on what
- 1:21you've got going on. So Doctor K, you have built an
- 1:24influence in a space that never stops evolving.
- 1:28What do you think was the catalyst that made you see the
- 1:32aesthetics is something to redefine rather than just
- 1:36practice? I think I, in my own head, feel
- 1:40that aesthetics is so important for every person and every
- 1:44woman's confidence and that I wanted to teach my audience, my
- 1:48daughters and the women around me that self-care is important.
- 1:52Maintenance is necessary. If you want to preserve this,
- 1:55the money maker, your face, your confidence, your self esteem for
- 1:58the years to come, you have to put in some maintenance.
- 2:01Like you can't drive your Ferrari for 80 years and not
- 2:04take it for service. So that was kind of my initial
- 2:07impetus is to teach people that the things we do for our face
- 2:11and care and maintenance of beauty is much more than that.
- 2:14It's all about confidence and self esteem and self identity.
- 2:18Absolutely. And that is so important, right.
- 2:20Our confidence comes from the inside and then what comes from
- 2:23the outside is the second-half. So you have built real
- 2:27visibility in an industry that's very crowded.
- 2:30There's voices everywhere, everybody's giving their
- 2:33opinion. What do you think people connect
- 2:37with and respond with most about your work?
- 2:40I think without a doubt I have to be so credible when I give
- 2:44advice. It has to be so legitimate, time
- 2:46tested, true and scientifically validated because I want my
- 2:51patients and my listeners out there, everyone to trust and to
- 2:54understand that when I see some new flashy thing hit the market,
- 2:57I will be interested. I will do the research.
- 3:00I will vet this product for you. And I will only recommend things
- 3:03that I do for my own family, my own mom, or my own sister.
- 3:06And that is really when there's science, evidence based
- 3:09medicine. I think bringing that dose of
- 3:12reality to what I'm doing is what appeals to people out there
- 3:16that are listening, that want to find a truth in an uncertain
- 3:18world, whether it's a lot of Wild West out there.
- 3:21I want patients to feel so comfortable and I want to be
- 3:25very relatable and approachable, but I also want to be very
- 3:28scientific so that they know that this is valid.
- 3:31And you've trained, as I understand, injectors across the
- 3:34country, across the world, from hands on courses to advanced
- 3:39training programs, You know, and you are really trying to, as I
- 3:43understand, elevate the industry standards when you're teaching
- 3:47injectors. What is it that you're
- 3:50emphasizing right now that wasn't even a part of the
- 3:54conversation five years ago? I'm teaching bio regenerative
- 3:58therapies and understanding scientific.
- 4:01I think the highest, newest tech things that we're doing are at
- 4:04the level of the molecule. So it's molecular biology for
- 4:07beauty, and I'm really excited to be teaching that new sector
- 4:11of longevity medicine by regenerative therapy, peptides
- 4:15and kind of the science that hasn't really fully been fleshed
- 4:18out yet, but it's already entering our clinics and it's
- 4:21already very much an interest to patients.
- 4:23So to me, that's the biggest, brightest thing that's growing
- 4:26right now. And with that comes so much
- 4:29building background, vocabulary to teach patients, to teach
- 4:32injectors also around the world. This, the background of the
- 4:34science, it's very important. And when I first joined on
- 4:37social media, I realized that there was a vacuum of
- 4:40information out there that nowadays companies are teaching,
- 4:44they're doing anatomy courses, they're doing injection courses.
- 4:47But when I first started, when you first started, there was no
- 4:50one teaching anything. It was us learning the hard way.
- 4:53It was kind of more secrecy in the plastic surgery industry is
- 4:56known for people being secretive of protecting their techniques.
- 5:00And I really wanted to just level the playing field and make
- 5:02this a better experience for everyone because I was getting
- 5:06so many questions on my Instagram about what needle,
- 5:09what depth, what technique. So that kind of led me to feel
- 5:13that there was this big knowledge gap that needed to be
- 5:15filled. Well, you're definitely filling
- 5:17it. And how many classes would you
- 5:19say you're teaching a year? Oh my gosh.
- 5:22Well, I lecture at so many of the big conferences, so all the
- 5:24AMWC conferences and the Informa conferences and probably at a
- 5:28meeting every two weeks, which is a lot, so.
- 5:31Wow, that's a lot of. We have our we also have our
- 5:33online platform for injectors. It's called modern aesthetic
- 5:36theory and artistry and that has like 30 different modules.
- 5:40You can access it from anywhere around the world as long as
- 5:43you're a healthcare professional.
- 5:44And then you can learn everything from beginner Botox
- 5:47to very advanced like my Tinkerbell tip lift or off label
- 5:51use of products that companies can really only teach on label.
- 5:55So it's kind of great to be able to teach everything I do that's
- 5:58off label. Because you're teaching that I
- 6:00know that you have your finger on the pulse of everything new.
- 6:03Is there a device or injectable that you believe is truly
- 6:07reshaping what's possible right now, like real evolution?
- 6:11I do, yeah. I think that the newest, the
- 6:14best treatments coming are yet to be released.
- 6:17But I'm working with a company called Rapalogix and we're
- 6:19developing A topical rapamycin, which is a cream.
- 6:23Rapamycin, as you know, is a oral tablet which when taken has
- 6:27shown up to 30% lifespan and longevity enhancement for
- 6:32animals, fruit flies or rats and mice.
- 6:35And it's also speculated to increase human lifespan by up to
- 6:3930%. But when we use this as a cream
- 6:41topically, it can anti age fibroblasts from like a 50 year
- 6:45old kind of fat out of shape senescent fibroblasts.
- 6:49It reshapes them into a thin 23 year old looking spindle active
- 6:54fibroblasts. So we're able to like reverse
- 6:57the senescence of cells and get them producing collagen at their
- 7:00old levels that is going to be next level new.
- 7:03Wow. Well that sounds great.
- 7:06And because you're the experts, I know that the listeners are
- 7:09interested. What treatments, looking ahead,
- 7:13do you think are positioned to define the next wave of
- 7:16aesthetics? Well, I think the college and
- 7:18bio stimulators were just at the beginning of learning what we
- 7:20can do with them because I've been using them in my practice,
- 7:23not only for mid face lift and rejuvenation, like the new skin
- 7:28quality that you get when you turn on these fire blasts to
- 7:30wake up. It's incredible.
- 7:31It's also a great product for preventing of GLP facial fat
- 7:35wasting and Ozempic face. So using the collagen
- 7:39biostimulators, I think we're just kind of beginning the
- 7:42journey of what can they actually do.
- 7:44And then when they're used in conjunction with mixing with
- 7:47hyaluronic or priming the skin ahead of time with nutrients and
- 7:51peptides and polynucleotides, we can actually really double and
- 7:56triple collagen levels when you actually feed the fiberglass.
- 8:00What are you seeing that patients are coming in and
- 8:04requesting now? Like what is the hottest thing
- 8:07that you know that you weren't maybe hearing a year ago, but
- 8:10now is the shift of what people are asking for?
- 8:13Well, definitely some of the new molecular techniques, so like
- 8:15salmon sperm treatments. We've heard of the salmon sperm
- 8:18facial. It sounds so trendy.
- 8:20And Kim K set that trend on fire.
- 8:23Thank you, Kim. But I think that the real beauty
- 8:25of that is these are DNA nucleotides.
- 8:27These are building blocks that repair damage and help every
- 8:31fine line and wrinkle on your face that has a senescent
- 8:34fiberglass in there and some DNA damage going on is going to get
- 8:38re infused with life. And so I think that is super
- 8:42popular. Everybody's asking for salmon
- 8:44DNA treatments. We're doing it before laser,
- 8:48we're doing it in conjunction with procedures.
- 8:50So for example, same day as your collagen stimulator and then
- 8:54we're doing that after treatments to speed healing,
- 8:56like for example after your facelift a week later.
- 8:59Let's infuse some polynucleotides that and I would
- 9:01say the growth factors like platelet derived growth factor
- 9:05products that are now human recombinant DNA technology where
- 9:08you don't need to draw PRP and spin it down and worry that you
- 9:12have enough active components. You can actually get area
- 9:15essence or platelet derived growth factor which can be used
- 9:19as a direct infusion, a message to the cells to wake up and grow
- 9:22and do their function better. Well, one trend we're definitely
- 9:27seeing is that the natural look is coming back, right?
- 9:32For a while, everything was overemphasized and a little
- 9:35bigger and puffier than maybe should have been for a minute.
- 9:38How do you balance that when somebody comes in and they want
- 9:42to look refreshed without looking like they've had
- 9:45anything done? How do you strike that balance
- 9:47at your office? Well, I'm a fan of re evaluating
- 9:51where they have their product placed and when necessary, I
- 9:54will just do the hard work of dissolving bad work and starting
- 9:57fresh. Often people need to hear that.
- 10:00They're also kind of relieved to hear that.
- 10:02So we do a lot of that adjusting.
- 10:04I think the most important thing I like to do is look at the
- 10:06faces and upper third, middle, third, lower 3rd and kind of
- 10:09assess where the volume defects are occurring.
- 10:12I love to treat with collagen simulators lateral in the face,
- 10:15so lateral to the line of ligaments and that gives
- 10:18vertical vector upwards, kind of like a nice beautiful tightening
- 10:23effect to the mid face and the lower face.
- 10:25So I'm a fan of using those collagen simulators to improve
- 10:28facial ligament tightening. And of course, things like lip
- 10:32filler are still super popular. I don't want to demonize any
- 10:36filler. All filler is good filler.
- 10:38I do great filler work. And I think we have to reteach
- 10:41the industry that filler is a great product when used
- 10:43judiciously and small amounts and carefully placed.
- 10:47And we have to talk patients down.
- 10:49So we're still using plenty of hyaluronic gel fillers.
- 10:51But most of my practices probably evolved towards more
- 10:54collagen stimulators. And then of course, the summer
- 10:58the blepharoplasty had a big resurgence.
- 11:00I did a lot, a lot of upper blephs and I think that teaching
- 11:04patients too, like sometimes when there's too much skin and
- 11:07there's laxity, we just do need to trim and tighten.
- 11:10So it's the combination of those kind of approaches is leading to
- 11:13very natural beauty. One of the things you know what
- 11:16I'm asking about that I saw that you're known for is really
- 11:20stacking treatments, combining maybe energy based devices with
- 11:24injectables. What is your favorite
- 11:27combination right now? My favorite combo is priming the
- 11:31skin prior to collagen stimulators that will prime with
- 11:34polynucleotide treatment, maybe even exosomes, and then doing
- 11:39the collagen stimulator treatment.
- 11:40Then once all the fibroblasts are recruited into this area,
- 11:44thinking about four weeks later doing a skin tightening
- 11:46treatment as well with micro needling radio frequency or a
- 11:51laser. And one of my favorite things to
- 11:52do is a very light CO2 laser. So I think that really takes
- 11:56away top two or three damaged layers of sun damaged skin and
- 12:01allows fresh skin to come back. So I'm stacking those kind of
- 12:04treatments. So things are evolving, right?
- 12:07And I do think that that natural look has definitely come back.
- 12:10I think that's a good thing for the industry.
- 12:13Yes, thank goodness. I mean, the industry's taking a
- 12:15bit of a hit. And like many companies talk to
- 12:18us as if like, no, everything's fine, it's all normal.
- 12:21But like in the real world and in the war zone of the Med spa
- 12:25and the injector office, like there's definitely a change in
- 12:29consumer sentiment. Everyone's holding back a
- 12:32little. I think there's a little
- 12:33recession coming. And then we need to help people
- 12:36get over filler fear and recognize that good filler work
- 12:39just looks great. Sometimes you can't wait for
- 12:42collagen to grow. So I tell people if they're
- 12:44willing to wait 60 days, 90 days for collagen to grow, then to do
- 12:49the long term collagen banking that one, that that is really
- 12:52important. But if you want results that
- 12:54look good for this Christmas, let's do something fast.
- 12:57Absolutely. And I'm sure you have this
- 13:00happen in your clinic where somebody comes in and they want
- 13:04something done, but they're afraid of the frozen look, like
- 13:07they have the fear of being frozen.
- 13:09And how do you address that with them?
- 13:11I don't ever overdo it with toxin, I'm always like very
- 13:15light handed with that. So I often use the newer
- 13:18versions of the toxins, but each toxin has its own personality
- 13:22and characteristics of just kind of really machine learned in my
- 13:26head over time, which talks and gives which look and then I can
- 13:29match that to the right lady. And I think that there's a lot
- 13:33of TikTok science going on, things that people have heard on
- 13:36TikTok or they're afraid of this or afraid of that.
- 13:38So I'm sure that creeps in the treatment rooms, right?
- 13:41It definitely does. That's the interesting thing
- 13:43that often social media drives what we do in the office, and we
- 13:47have to be careful to rein that in and teach people like what's
- 13:50true and what's not true. I think some of the education
- 13:54that people are picking up on social media is great and then
- 13:57some of it is taking us in the wrong direction.
- 14:00Exactly. And I do a lot of social media
- 14:02in our office. We are really great at
- 14:04marketing. We have the social media team in
- 14:06the house and that's actually a fun part of the day because I
- 14:09get to educate and entertain a little bit of both.
- 14:13You have to do entertainment, right.
- 14:15We have to keep people engaged and I think you want to always
- 14:18be relevant and it's important to stay up with what's trending.
- 14:22So in your opinion, is there an overlooked or underrated
- 14:27procedure that really does deliver consistent real results,
- 14:31but it's not really getting the attention that it deserves right
- 14:33now? I am all for micro needling.
- 14:36I think 3 to 4 sessions boosts your collagen production 400%.
- 14:42Patients love it. There's minimal downtime and for
- 14:45people that are a little bit fearful about surgery or they're
- 14:48fearful about Bastimulator or maybe they don't want to get
- 14:51filler right now, this is such a great treatment because you feel
- 14:54slightly pampered and getting next level molecular ingredients
- 14:57needled in and you get that lovely skin quality glow.
- 15:01So it's all good. So I think that's a terrific
- 15:04treatment. The other thing I really love is
- 15:06my hyperdilute midface radius technique and that's multi
- 15:10layer, some injecting on periosteum within the facial fat
- 15:14pads and in the deep dermis, sometimes even in the
- 15:17superficial dermis and getting kind of like a global effect of
- 15:21lifting, tightening and brightening and that has been
- 15:24game changing. I've been doing that for the
- 15:26whole last year and we just published an article in
- 15:29Aesthetic Surgery Journal Open Access.
- 15:31Everybody can read it, the technique, and it's just a new
- 15:34way of treating the face. It's really definitely not paint
- 15:38by numbers. It's very creative.
- 15:40You really have to analyze where facial fat loss has occurred,
- 15:43from aging or from GLPS, and you can use this technique for both.
- 15:47So it sounds like you really are on the cutting edge of, you
- 15:51know, not just settling into the treatments that you're
- 15:54comfortable with, You're pushing the envelope and going to the
- 15:57next level, making sure your patients have exactly what's new
- 16:00and what's hot. So how do you decide which
- 16:04treatments to try? With all of the new technologies
- 16:08and buzzwords that are surfacing constantly?
- 16:11How do you filter really what's worth exploring versus what's
- 16:15just marketing? I think it's really important to
- 16:18do science based, evidence based results.
- 16:21So that's my #1 criteria in dealing with any company.
- 16:24I will ask them first, can I read your white papers?
- 16:26Can I see what's the ingredient profile and where are your
- 16:29clinical studies? And I think that's the most
- 16:32important thing for me. Wouldn't.
- 16:33You say yes, absolutely, like you're saying that credibility
- 16:37behind you, right. So how do you think that you're
- 16:40staying relevant through it all, making sure that you're, whether
- 16:44it's your social media, whether it's your training, is it a lot
- 16:47of work to keep up with everything that's happening in
- 16:50the industry? It's a lot of work.
- 16:52I would say I do 2 to 3 hours of reading a day because I want to
- 16:58try all the new things. I want to prescribe peptides for
- 17:01my patient. I want to be on a peptide
- 17:02myself. I want to learn about rapamycin
- 17:04and M Tor of the cell. But all of this requires so much
- 17:08research and that you can't really trust anybody out there
- 17:11on Instagram that's Hawking their knowledge base unless they
- 17:14have degrees, Graduate School and credibility behind that.
- 17:17So, so I'm just like, I'm a person who reads the original
- 17:21literature and I want all of us to be that person because too
- 17:25many injectors out there are learning off of the gram and off
- 17:29of TikTok and I, we can't have that.
- 17:31And I also think that this industry's been damaged a little
- 17:35by people saying things on their huge platform like, oh, you
- 17:39can't do a college and simulator and go ahead and have a
- 17:41facelift. If you ever want to have a
- 17:42facelift, don't do college and simulator.
- 17:44I think that this is trash talk and needs to be like supported
- 17:48by some evidence. If you're going to talk like
- 17:49that before you shut down a whole industry, please show me
- 17:53the evidence. I think you're right.
- 17:55I think that there's a lot of misinformation floating around.
- 17:59What do you think is the biggest misconception or what do you
- 18:03hear patients bringing into the treatment room about injectables
- 18:07or results that you're still shocked that they're saying?
- 18:09I mean, people still think that they can have a whole facelift
- 18:13with one syringe, so. Yes, I.
- 18:15Think that's a big misconception, like the products
- 18:18are expensive, but just even though it's expensive, you need
- 18:21to budget volume per area per square centimeters of treatment
- 18:27zone. And so like I would like to
- 18:30educate patients better on like what's really required to give a
- 18:34place that has deflation and fat changes and volume loss.
- 18:38You often have to use 5 or 6 syringes spread out over time,
- 18:42not all at once, not like the old days.
- 18:44I completely agree with you. I think that misconception about
- 18:47how much filler is in a syringe is quite shocking.
- 18:50In my doctor's office they have a picture on the wall with the
- 18:54spoons. Showing us.
- 18:56How much is actually in a syringe of filler?
- 18:58We think it's like so much, but it's this tiny, tiny amount and.
- 19:02Very little. Yeah, I have.
- 19:04I agree with you, I'm always have a minimum of probably 6
- 19:09syringes in my face but I don't think I have a puffy face.
- 19:12It's just this is what it requires.
- 19:14And unfortunately, like, as the years creep up on us, the number
- 19:18of syringes increases. But I also agree with what you
- 19:21said about, you know, moving slowly because sometimes I'll go
- 19:25have three or four and then let that settle in for a couple of
- 19:29weeks before you go and get the rest done to kind of see how
- 19:32that all balances out, right? That's so true.
- 19:35People are so rushed, especially here in LA.
- 19:37Like they want to come in and get everything all at once and
- 19:40done. And like, that's not efficiency,
- 19:42that's like rushing it. We need to really personalize
- 19:45and customize and give products time to equilibrate and settle
- 19:49in. And like I never heard anybody
- 19:51say like just do a really fast job and do 10 things to my hair
- 19:54all at once. Like, no, you're going to take
- 19:56your time and do the steps your hairdresser recommends.
- 19:59But for some reason in the face, they're all like.
- 20:02Just hook up the kid. I got a rush.
- 20:04I got to do like and I got to get in.
- 20:05I got it out. No like faces take time.
- 20:08Please let me take the right amount of time on your face.
- 20:10I also think the secret to having it look natural is
- 20:15spacing it out. Like I go quarterly, right?
- 20:18Some people want to just go once a year.
- 20:20Maybe they're thinking they don't have time, But if you fill
- 20:23it up so much that you know you don't have to worry about it for
- 20:26a year, then for that first few months you're going to look
- 20:29puffy. So I go quarterly and get a
- 20:32little little adjustment and then it always looks more
- 20:35natural. See, that's great.
- 20:37I need to up level. I'm just doing like, I don't
- 20:39know, I get too busy by the end of the day.
- 20:40I like I don't want any needles in my face.
- 20:42I'm going home. But I still do it like twice a
- 20:44year. But as you get older, you need
- 20:46to do more. You need to do like the in
- 20:49between, some micro needling in between, a little bit of peel.
- 20:52Definitely an energy device here and there.
- 20:55I think there's so many ways to support the beauty that you want
- 20:58to project. And it's also OK to not do
- 21:00anything to your face. And I also want to teach my
- 21:03clients to not be so perfectionistic about their
- 21:07beauty and so obsessed and to allow little facial, not a flaw,
- 21:12but a facial characteristic to show through because that's what
- 21:16makes us very special. And as we have patients aging,
- 21:20longevity is all about teaching resilience and love for who you
- 21:25are and who you've become. And our industry needs to teach
- 21:28more of that versus like women need to look good.
- 21:30We have enough pressure. I love that.
- 21:32That's a great way to think about it.
- 21:34So Doctor K, thank you for sharing your expertise with us.
- 21:37When you look ahead, what excites you the most about where
- 21:41aesthetics is headed? Not just in treatments, but in
- 21:44how people experience beauty, which is what you were just
- 21:47really talking about. Oh, I'm so excited about the
- 21:50integrative approach to aesthetics where we spend so
- 21:54much time with our patients, like we become their counselor,
- 21:57their love, their confidence boosting coach.
- 22:01And I also want to take that time to look at like, OK, what's
- 22:03really going on? Why are you really tired?
- 22:05Should we do blood work? Let's optimize your health
- 22:08status. Let's give you nutrients and
- 22:10minerals and vitamins where you're deficient.
- 22:12Let's check your hormones. So we want to be that one stop
- 22:16shop where patients can count on us to give good medical care and
- 22:19look at your labs and teach you and replenish you.
- 22:22Like get you an IV drip, get you a peptide treatment, get you
- 22:25some hormones, maybe microdose some GLPS for you and control
- 22:30your inflammation, and then simultaneously where you're
- 22:33collagen deficient or your facial fat is deflating.
- 22:36I am doing like all AI analysis and 3D scans for faces and
- 22:41really assessing and studying your facial aging patterns.
- 22:44And we've been doing this for the last 10 years, but
- 22:46especially in the last couple years now using AI for 3D facial
- 22:50scanning for looking at skin quality characteristics.
- 22:53And then really recording like with good data metrics like
- 22:57what's changing about you and where do we need to keep up?
- 23:01And the next generation of this is even more.
- 23:03It's going to be a drawing blood work to look at your DNA
- 23:05methylation patterns, like where are your genes prematurely
- 23:08aging? What work should we do on your
- 23:11GI tract to fix that or on your collagen deficiency to fix that?
- 23:15I think we have the ability to bring that molecular science and
- 23:20lifespan extension, longevity type treatments to all of our
- 23:23patients and most important to ourselves first because we need
- 23:26it for ourselves. Yes, we do.
- 23:28Well, Doctor K, if you don't mind joining us for a speed
- 23:32round, I know that your expertise will be great here.
- 23:35What I'd like to do is run a bunch of items, pass you on a
- 23:39one to 10. You tell me your thoughts on how
- 23:42great they are. Now I'll run by a bunch of
- 23:44treatments and just your opinion will be very valuable to our
- 23:48audience. OK, all right, here we go.
- 23:52Bio simulators. Oh, 10 out of 10?
- 23:57I'm a fan. Threads.
- 23:59Sorry, I'm going to give it a one.
- 24:01That one. We like threads, but only when
- 24:04they're anchored and sutured and nodded, and they won't last
- 24:07long. Preventative Neurotoxin.
- 24:10I think 10 out of 10, this is a concept that works.
- 24:13Lip flips. I'm a fan of the lip flip, but I
- 24:16would say I would give that like an 8 out of 10.
- 24:18I would say 2 out of 10. People can't tolerate those.
- 24:21There's not enough lip muscle strength.
- 24:24Under eye filler. I'm still a huge fan of under
- 24:27eye filler when placed precisely under the muscle.
- 24:30I would say this isn't A9. Non surgical nose contouring.
- 24:35I'm biased here. That's a 10 out of 10.
- 24:37I have a beautiful Tinkerbell tip lift which rivals my
- 24:41surgical rhinoplasty results. Wow.
- 24:44I wish I was. There to try that jawline
- 24:46contouring. That's also a 10 out of 10.
- 24:49We can have some very beautiful results with reshaping the
- 24:52goneal angle and lengthening and projecting.
- 24:55Good. It's a good one.
- 24:57Chin augmentation with filler. I would say it's a nine out of
- 25:0110. It's very close to what we can
- 25:03achieve with the chin implant. The only downside being it has
- 25:07to be repeated every couple years.
- 25:08But it's a great way to try out the chin implant idea.
- 25:12Fat dissolving injections. Yeah.
- 25:15Well, so deoxycholic acid has been in my practice game
- 25:19changing. We use it all the time.
- 25:21That's very injector dependent. So I'd say it's like a might
- 25:25give it like an 8 out of 10 because it does swell for a
- 25:28couple weeks. But I can say with definitive
- 25:31certainty, when injected correctly, it's a great way to
- 25:33slightly slim the gels, the segmental fat, the body fat
- 25:37works really well. Gummy smile.
- 25:40Neurotoxin. Yeah, that's a 10 out of 10.
- 25:43That's a great one. And people don't even realize
- 25:45it's an option when they have too much pink gum showing in
- 25:49their smile and they have to do a very controlled smile.
- 25:51It's very liberating for those people to get a tiny dose of
- 25:54toxin. They no longer have to be
- 25:56inhibited. Masseter slimming with their
- 25:58neurotoxins. I'm a fan, but I'm going to give
- 26:02it like a 7 out of 10. It's something that I think if
- 26:05you're a clenching, grinding person that has hypertrophic
- 26:09overcrow masseters, you will really benefit.
- 26:11For the vast majority of women, when we slim the masseters too
- 26:15much, we get bone density change of the mandible and for
- 26:18postmenopausal women, it's not really recoverable.
- 26:21To rebuild that bone density, you need the master muscle
- 26:24forces to maintain bone and the mandible.
- 26:27And I also want to thank long term for my patients, not just
- 26:30short term beauty. So maybe we'll do that once a
- 26:33year. We'll definitely need to do some
- 26:35jawline definition if we shrink the masseters too much.
- 26:38Hair restoration injections. Love, I love that.
- 26:42So that's also a like a nine out of 10.
- 26:44It's not successful for everybody, but for the people
- 26:47who do it 4 to 6 sessions, regardless of which type of
- 26:52product you're using, whether it's PRP or polynucleotide or
- 26:55exosomes, almost everyone can get some benefit from hair
- 26:58injections. Radiofrequency with the micro
- 27:00needling. I'm a fan of radiofrequency
- 27:04without needles. With needles, I think you have
- 27:06to have superior techniques so that you don't thin the dermal
- 27:09fat or use too high of an energy because I think there is a
- 27:13danger in trying the dermis and cooking the home of the
- 27:16fiberglass because we want to tighten.
- 27:18On the other hand, like radio frequency doesn't really tighten
- 27:21that much. So I'm very middle of the road
- 27:24on that. So maybe like A5 at a time?
- 27:26Cellulite treatments. Wow, these are hard questions.
- 27:30So Cellulite is very challenging when you get the right treatment
- 27:34and the right person and you've chosen well whether it's
- 27:37dissolving enzymes or cutting devices or laser type devices
- 27:42that the results can be amazing. I would just say that it's
- 27:45difficult to predict for people. So maybe that's like a 7 out of
- 27:4910. In office light therapy facials.
- 27:5410 out of 10 there is red light is going to be the nutrition of
- 27:57your fibroblast and your mitochondria and it's really a
- 28:02lovely treatment proven to grow more collagen better for blood
- 28:06flow. And what about at home?
- 28:08Red light therapy masks. I'm more cautious about the
- 28:11device and the manufacturer because there have been many
- 28:14case reports of people using the red lights that burn or irritate
- 28:17the skin. So you have to be super careful.
- 28:19But there are some really great brands out there with home
- 28:22devices. Cryofacials.
- 28:25It's interesting, but I'm not really a fan.
- 28:27I want to do a treatment, then I'm going to see some really
- 28:30next level results. So I think there are better ways
- 28:32to achieve that stimulation than cryofacial.
- 28:35Retinol. Retinol is a 10 out of 10.
- 28:38We love retinol, our number one proven ingredient to improve
- 28:42collagen production. Fine lines, wrinkles, there will
- 28:46be some new research coming that talks about is retinol actually
- 28:49always good? And is too much retinol gonna
- 28:52exhaust your fibroblasts? And I think that we will find
- 28:55that answer to be true. And so we may have adjustments
- 28:58and kind of a paradigm shift in our thinking coming about how
- 29:02retinol impacts aging of the skin.
- 29:06What about hyaluronic acid serums?
- 29:08Those are 10 out of 10. We must have those.
- 29:11Yeah, every day, twice a day for me.
- 29:13Peptide skin care. 10 out of 10 peptides are very powerful
- 29:17molecules that send cellular signals to reverse age and anti
- 29:21age Brighton light and tighten. We have many wonderful peptides
- 29:26out there. Growth Factor.
- 29:27Skin care. I think there's so much science
- 29:30that has to be vetted on those, and that depends on the batch,
- 29:34consistency of what's in it, the content of what the growth
- 29:37factor is. So that one has potential to be
- 29:39a 10 out of 10, but there's still a lot of research to be
- 29:42done. Chemical exfoliants.
- 29:45I think like glycolic peels or any kind of peels, when done in
- 29:48a controlled setting with an expert doing them, are wonderful
- 29:52for the skin. Skin cycling.
- 29:55Yes, I would say 10 out of 10. That's it.
- 29:59That's the end of the questions. You did an amazing job so.
- 30:02That was very comprehensive. There's.
- 30:04A lot of great information and Doctor K, we can't thank you
- 30:08enough for joining us today and sharing all this wealth of

- 30:20coming well. Anything else that you want to
