- 0:01Life isn't black and white. It's not just mountaintop
- 0:04moments or rock bottom seasons. It's lived in the middle, in the
- 0:08doubts and the prayers that feel unanswered, in the joy you
- 0:12didn't see coming. Welcome to Everything in
- 0:14Between, a podcast from Trinity UMC.
- 0:20Our. You don't like talking to music,
- 0:24do you? I mean, I can't.
- 0:25I thought you were just playing music first.
- 0:27Are we? Are we dancing?
- 0:30All right. Hello and welcome to the podcast
- 0:35with our summer interns where everything in between and you
- 0:39get to hear today from the best interns 2026 has ever seen for
- 0:45Trinity Student Ministry. I'm Melissa and today we have.
- 0:50Addison. And Peyton?
- 0:51And Josiah on the ones and twos. So buckle up and get ready.
- 0:55It's about to be a fun one y'all.
- 0:57Woo all. Right, you're a natural that's
- 1:01thank. You I learned from Carlos
- 1:03Whitaker. Interesting.
- 1:04Yeah, you should listen to his podcast.
- 1:07I should. You should.
- 1:08I should. Anyway, greetings everyone.
- 1:10We are so excited to be here today.
- 1:12Josiah and I have amazing interns for our summer.
- 1:17You might ask, why do we need interns in Trinity Student
- 1:20Ministry in the summer? And if you don't understand why,
- 1:22I encourage you to come volunteer and lead with Trinity
- 1:26Student Ministry 1 summer, right guys?
- 1:28Yeah. That sounds like a challenge.
- 1:31It is. It is a challenge.
- 1:33But honestly, we have interns. I'm going to let them tell you
- 1:36just a little bit of what they've done.
- 1:38But we also have interns because it's just this place where you
- 1:42can kind of, it's an everything in between place where you can
- 1:44figure out where you are in life and what role does ministry
- 1:49play? How do you want to serve within
- 1:51the church, What a student ministry look like?
- 1:53We've had several people come through our internships, myself
- 1:57included, that have ended up working as a career in ministry.
- 2:01But ladies, tell us a little bit about yourself and what you've
- 2:04done so far this summer. You want to go first, Daddy?
- 2:07Sure. I'll go first.
- 2:09So I'm Addie. I'm fresh out of the youth
- 2:13group, so I just got out of it last year.
- 2:16I graduated in 2025, Now I'm at Florida State studying
- 2:23neuroscience, behavioral neuroscience, hopefully getting
- 2:27into the medical field of going to Med school afterwards this
- 2:31summer. So far I've been in the church
- 2:34office a lot starting off the internship and then I also work
- 2:38at Buffalo's Reef and I have an internship at Niceville Urgent
- 2:42Care. Shameless plugs to Buffalo's
- 2:44Reef. We love them.
- 2:46Yes, come visit me, I love to see you all.
- 2:49Right, Papa? OK, I'm Peyton, but everybody
- 2:53here calls me Peppa and I'm not fresh out of the youth group.
- 2:59I graduated in 2022 and I've been at Florida State ever
- 3:04since, and I'm currently working on my master's degree in sports
- 3:08nutrition. And this summer I am continuing
- 3:15working for UDA, which is Universal Dance Association, so
- 3:18I teach camps for them throughout the summer.
- 3:22And yeah, I've just been in the church office a lot with
- 3:24Melissa. Anybody out there got a text
- 3:26message about owing money for ARM?
- 3:28That probably came from me, but yeah.
- 3:31And I've just been enjoying my time hanging out with Melissa
- 3:33and Addie and Jane in the office.
- 3:35So super excited to be here. Yay.
- 3:39Super excited for you to be here as well.
- 3:40Yeah. So now you've told us what
- 3:42you're planning to be when you grow up, can you tell us what
- 3:45you used to dream about being when you grew up?
- 3:48Go for it. Oh, gosh.
- 3:49OK. So I when I was real, I
- 3:53basically wanted to be everything.
- 3:54Like, I've had a phase where I've like, thought about being
- 3:57anything. When I was in kindergarten, I
- 3:58wanted to be a surgeon. I have a picture I think
- 4:01somewhere dressed up as a doctor.
- 4:03But if you ask my like, old Diaries that I used to write in,
- 4:07it was an Acrobat in the circus. Yeah, I know.
- 4:11Really weird. Thanks, Josiah.
- 4:13That was super awesome. Super awkward.
- 4:16Yeah, Like, I don't know why I wanted to be that.
- 4:18I was a dancer, but like, I wasn't in the circus because it
- 4:21looks cool. I was like, not doing that at
- 4:23all. Did you want to be like?
- 4:24Trapeze or tightrope or just like no like flipped.
- 4:27Around like and I, that's just like not my journey.
- 4:31I don't know why I ever wanted to be that.
- 4:33I just thought you could just like declare that for yourself.
- 4:36I didn't actually like try to do anything with that.
- 4:39As a dancer, was your flexibility.
- 4:41No, no, not at all. I mean, maybe that's why you're
- 4:44not an actor. Yeah.
- 4:46But now it's kind of come full circle, cuz now you're here
- 4:48interning at a different kind of circus.
- 4:51Yeah, OK. That's a good one.
- 4:54All right. Actually, Josiah, what about
- 4:55you? I'm not one of the interns.
- 4:57That's OK. We're asking you one question.
- 4:59From you what? Did you want?
- 5:01To be when you grew up. What did I want to be when I
- 5:03grew up? I wanted to be a Believe it or
- 5:06not, I wanted to be a personal trainer when I grew up and I my
- 5:11biggest push towards that is I never want to wear a suit.
- 5:15I wanted to be able to work in khakis or sweatpants and that is
- 5:21what I now do. Comfort level was priority.
- 5:25Whatever. There was a time where, like
- 5:27when I was really young, I might have wanted to be a cop just
- 5:30because. Like everybody went through that
- 5:31phase. Cool cars and whatnot.
- 5:33But then when I figured out that there was more jobs than just
- 5:36cop firemen or astronaut and doctor.
- 5:39Those are the main 4. Those are the ones that they
- 5:41make toys of. Not many toys of personal
- 5:44trainers. We got to work on that.
- 5:46Yeah, I I wanted to be a a lawyer when I grew up.
- 5:50I could so see that for you I did.
- 5:52I wanted to be a lawyer. I wanted to go to Harvard.
- 5:55My dad really fueled that dream and and then Legally Blonde came
- 6:02out and that really set a fire in me.
- 6:05I think that sets a fire for anybody.
- 6:07Yeah, because I watched that before an exam and I'm like, I
- 6:09got. This exactly.
- 6:11It's so empowering. All right, baddie, what about
- 6:13you? I think I didn't really really
- 6:16changed mine pretty much until I was in high school.
- 6:20I wanted to be a teacher, but I kind of realized in high school
- 6:25that the reason that I wanted to be a teacher is because I wanted
- 6:28to decorate a classroom and that was literally it.
- 6:31I had no other desire to work with like younger kids every
- 6:35single day you're. So good at it though.
- 6:39Oh, it working with kids. Yeah, day camp at ARM.
- 6:41You're so good. I love working with kids and
- 6:43like, I do enjoy it, I just don't know that I would want to
- 6:46do it every single day. Like, love babysitting, love
- 6:49watching Jane, I'll babysit anyone's kids, and I'll work day
- 6:53camp for a week. Highly recommend as a
- 6:55babysitter. Yeah, hit me up guys, in my free
- 6:58time. Let's add that fourth job in
- 7:00there, yeah? Just throw in another.
- 7:03But yeah, so then that kind of led into maybe I want to be an
- 7:06interior designer because I just like to decorate things.
- 7:09But then I realized that it was kind of more of a hobby, not a.
- 7:13Her bedroom looks like it's out of an IKEA catalog.
- 7:16It's insane. Yeah.
- 7:17And I just keep like I'll do that with my apartment.
- 7:19I'll do it with anything. But I need you to come do that
- 7:22with my house once it's cleaned out.
- 7:24Deal, OK. Great.
- 7:25She's really good. All right, So what brought you
- 7:31back here? We're just skipping you.
- 7:33How can? I ask you, I did.
- 7:34Answer it, never mind. See how well he listens to me?
- 7:36You guys, I want to point that out.
- 7:39He heard every word I said about wanting to be a lawyer.
- 7:42And Legally Blonde. I remember now.
- 7:45Do you what evidence we have here Exhibit A?
- 7:51Right. All right, So what brought you
- 7:56back to want to intern? Oh, honestly, I OK, so I came
- 8:04back last summer just as a volunteer and I don't know, like
- 8:09there wasn't like a thing that like made me want to do it.
- 8:12I think it was more just like I felt like I just like a pole to
- 8:16come back. I mean the Holy Spirit honestly,
- 8:18because I just like got this feeling and I was like, Dang,
- 8:21like I feel like I've been out enough.
- 8:23Like I didn't want to come back right away.
- 8:25Like obviously I wanted to come back right away and go on all
- 8:27those trips and do all the fun things, but I knew that that
- 8:29like wasn't my space. I needed to like be away and
- 8:32like figure out who I am as a person and then can come back
- 8:35and like help you. But I think like I've, I like
- 8:38came into like a full circle moment in like the last year and
- 8:42was like, wait, actually like I graduated undergrad and I was
- 8:44like, I think I do want to come back.
- 8:46And like, I feel like I, I like got my, you know, undergrad
- 8:51done. And I was like, I have some like
- 8:54something to give. I don't know what it is yet.
- 8:56And I hope that like, you know, if I like talked to any kids
- 8:59last summer at camp that like I was able to like God was able to
- 9:02use me in whatever they needed, but I just felt like I needed to
- 9:05come back and like via vessel basically.
- 9:09Yeah, I think last summer I saw the spark you gave one of our
- 9:14most difficult midweek destination Bible study talks
- 9:18after your experience at FSU last summer and how God is
- 9:22greater than a school shooting, which he is.
- 9:25But it sounds like a crazy thing to talk about specifically weeks
- 9:28after you've experienced it. And I think, I think God's doing
- 9:33great work in you and I'm really excited that you said yes.
- 9:38So, all right, Batty. I honestly really missed it,
- 9:42like I just wasn't ready to leave.
- 9:44How many years were you president before this?
- 9:473. She was away for about two
- 9:50seconds. She was right back.
- 9:51She. Was the intern with the intern?
- 9:54With the intern. Pretty much.
- 9:55And like, I guess this isn't really my first time interning.
- 9:58I was part of the ACORN program with three other people.
- 10:01So I've like kind of had this role before, but it was split
- 10:05among four people, not 2. And so I honestly, this youth
- 10:11group has given so much to me and helped me, helped foster so
- 10:14much of my faith that if I can come back and help in any way
- 10:18that I can to do that for other kids, like I want to do that
- 10:21immediately. So yeah, I think just one, I
- 10:24missed it too. I have a big passion for this
- 10:28youth group and what everyone is doing between you, Melissa and
- 10:32all the other leaders so and I love to be part of it.
- 10:35I think that summed up exactly what I was trying to say when
- 10:38you're saying like the impact that Melissa had on our lives,
- 10:41like I don't want like I want to be able to like give that impact
- 10:45to someone else too. Because like the fact that I've
- 10:49been out of high school for almost five years and I still
- 10:51meet up with you with like things and like get coffee with
- 10:54you. And anytime I have a problem,
- 10:55like I just come to you. Are you crying?
- 10:57Why are? You going to?
- 10:59Make me cry you in the eyes right now, but like and I just
- 11:02like thought about that. I was like wow, like what an
- 11:04impact that she made on me and why are you?
- 11:06I can't look at you. You're talking.
- 11:09I'll look away. I'm so.
- 11:10Sorry, like I just like was like, wow, like this is
- 11:12something I, I got to be a part of this.
- 11:14Like if we can make more impact with more people like you.
- 11:19You guys are so kind and those are moments where I'm just like,
- 11:22it is what I'm doing, doing anything.
- 11:24Like, you know, I'm trying to do this work for God, but like, am
- 11:29I being fruitful in what's happening?
- 11:31And like you guys are examples that, you know, trust the
- 11:35process and all the work that Josiah and I put in and that,
- 11:39you know, think good things are happening.
- 11:41Like it's, I don't know quality over quantity in this case,
- 11:45right? So.
- 11:47Melissa has statistically planned for you guys to be
- 11:50interns for years now. I hear it almost every year.
- 11:53She's like, Eddie's going to be my.
- 11:55I think it was like in her junior year.
- 11:56She's like, Eddie's going to be my intern.
- 11:58Yeah, there are certain ones that I'm like, do they have to
- 12:04go off to college? Can I please just stay?
- 12:09But that's what's great is now Christina's transformed my job
- 12:12into next Gen. And I get it's my job to connect
- 12:16with the college students, which I was already doing, but now?
- 12:19There's been a plan. It's in the job description.
- 12:23OK, so we talked about this question.
- 12:27We're going to morph it just a smidge.
- 12:29Is there an experience or something that happened to you
- 12:34or a lesson or a rule? Is there something from your
- 12:38time in Trinity student, Trinity student ministry that you didn't
- 12:43really fully understand or appreciate that now on this side
- 12:47of it that you're like, oh, I get why this happened or I
- 12:52understand this a lot better? I think for me, it's not really
- 12:57something that I understand better necessarily, but
- 13:01something that I appreciate a little bit more now and that I
- 13:04use more. It was actually student
- 13:07leadership university. I talk about this a lot, but it
- 13:12was a lesson from Jeff Wallace that has just really stuck with
- 13:16me. And it's the disc personality
- 13:19and he went through it. We discussed every personality
- 13:21type. I'm an S, which is like the shy
- 13:24typically personality and for a lot of, I mean, that's what I've
- 13:30been my whole life, but I kind of just assumed that like I was
- 13:34more of a behind the scenes gal. And so like if I was an intern,
- 13:38I was going to be in like working in the office and like
- 13:41that I wasn't out there and like putting my leadership like in a
- 13:48more visible way to people. And so I think in high school
- 13:54that was applicable, but I think in college, like you're in such
- 13:58a a much bigger community that like you, it, it means a little
- 14:05bit more to put put myself out of the S box and be a leader and
- 14:11a member of different communities, like in the run
- 14:13club. Like it means a little bit more
- 14:16than just I can speak in front of people, but like I can in
- 14:21front of way more people than I had ever anticipated.
- 14:25It's not just. Preached last year in front of
- 14:28the. Congregation and so like those
- 14:30are things that I never thought that I would get to do, but now
- 14:34on the other side of SLU, like I can do those things.
- 14:38So that's something that I definitely have been applying,
- 14:41but even more so now outside of high school, outside of the
- 14:44youth group, I apply a lot more. Yeah, You don't have someone
- 14:48forcing you to go do these things like you've got to choose
- 14:51to do it. Exactly.
- 14:52Yeah, It's not like Melissa asked me to pray in front of,
- 14:55you know, hot dog heaven or whatever it.
- 14:58Is podcasts are going to show that I'm pushy?
- 15:00But in a good way, it's for a good reason.
- 15:02Yeah, I have a T-shirt that says I'm not bossy.
- 15:05It's leadership skills. The leadership skills,
- 15:07Absolutely. All right, Anything from you,
- 15:12Peyton? Honestly, we were talking about
- 15:15this a little bit before, but like the rules and the things
- 15:18that you do. Like I got it then because like
- 15:21I just trusted whatever you were saying.
- 15:23I was like, she's probably right.
- 15:24Like I we probably do need to do it this way.
- 15:26But like now I see it because I see like the amount of times
- 15:30that you have to like remind people to do things or like even
- 15:33like this week I noticed somebody asked you something and
- 15:36you were not even like really like fully listening.
- 15:38Like I think we were. It was me and Josiah talking
- 15:40about something and then all of a sudden I was like, oh, we need
- 15:42to make a copy of this. And while you were or like, on
- 15:45the phone with someone, you sent it to the printer.
- 15:47And I was like, how does she, like, have, like, 500 tabs open
- 15:50in her head? She's listening to everything.
- 15:53There's music playing up there, probably.
- 15:55Yeah. Like, it's so insane the things
- 15:57that you're able to keep track of.
- 15:59And then like, also like, Jane's having a conversation with you.
- 16:01You're on the phone. You're managing all these
- 16:03things, like kind of Florida State.
- 16:05And then you just like send something to the printer because
- 16:07I mentioned it one time and I was like, whoa.
- 16:10She like whispered in the corner that something needed to be
- 16:12printed. And you're like, oh, it's
- 16:13already back there. And I just.
- 16:15Appreciate so nice signs of acknowledging that she heard.
- 16:18She was like. Sent it off and I think in her
- 16:20mind she just forgot to send acknowledgement.
- 16:22There's like, I got you. Yeah.
- 16:24We didn't really figure out till we went to the printer.
- 16:26I was like, oh, it's already printed.
- 16:27Yeah. It's like that, like you're
- 16:30like, you basically did so much, but like, I didn't like, I fully
- 16:36get it now that I'm like, whoa, like you have all this stuff
- 16:40like paperwork and stuff behind the scenes.
- 16:41I mean, it's all a little bit of that.
- 16:42But like, because youth ministry looks really fun on the surface,
- 16:45like we're at pool parties, we're going to camp, we're at a
- 16:48concert. Not the pool parties.
- 16:50Those are scary sometimes. Pool parties are so stressful.
- 16:53We add a. Body of water, yeah.
- 16:56Or if you add like open water, like when we go to the Curtises,
- 16:59so. Fun, but kind of scary.
- 17:00I tell him if you're if you're down like current or whatever.
- 17:05I'm not strong at swimming, so you need to stay in the
- 17:08boundaries. Or in the woods.
- 17:10Oh my gosh. Yeah, stay.
- 17:12Take a bunch of kids over state lines.
- 17:15I don't know how you sleep at night.
- 17:18With when I open. No, literally.
- 17:21Yeah, there's that. That post Oakwood nap is a real
- 17:25thing. Post arm I have to go load up on
- 17:28sushi like I carbo load and that's how I recover.
- 17:32Wait, can I join? Yeah, that sounds like fun.
- 17:34I need to load up on. Sushi.
- 17:35It was back when, like the interns of ARM, we're budgeting
- 17:38for the food and it was not greatly done.
- 17:41And so we would have to ration off food because we had big boys
- 17:45like, you know, Brett, who needs more than one serving.
- 17:48So I would take less, which is not going to cut it.
- 17:50No, no. For like 1 scoop of lasagna.
- 17:53Have you met these boys? They're bottomless pits.
- 17:55But you know, I'd get home and I would order myself $40 worth of
- 17:59sushi and I would eat it and I would go home and then I would
- 18:02sleep. I would be a part of that.
- 18:04We can go do sushi, but like the Post, the nap doesn't really get
- 18:07to happen because now I have Jane.
- 18:09But yeah, it's a lot. It's a lot.
- 18:14All right, So now you guys are college students.
- 18:15You're away at FSU and it's one of those seasons where a lot of
- 18:21times young people fall off in their faith.
- 18:25It's where they're like, I'm in college.
- 18:28Time to experience the college life and it's where I make my
- 18:33mistakes and what not. And I would like to commend you
- 18:35guys that you have really like paved your own way.
- 18:38Like of course mistakes happen and life happens and you have to
- 18:40experience things. But you were two of the students
- 18:45that like have really established yourself.
- 18:47So I would love for you to share how you did that, why you chose
- 18:50to do that, and all of those things.
- 18:55I'll go first. I think for me, I knew going in
- 19:00to Tallahassee that there is a very big party scene and that's
- 19:05what a lot of people are doing. That's what they do with their
- 19:07free time. And I knew going in that I
- 19:10didn't want to be a part of that.
- 19:13And so I had to be very intentional going in.
- 19:16And like I talked to Peyton about it before.
- 19:18Like I wanted to get plugged in immediately.
- 19:21So that that wasn't even like a thought in my mind.
- 19:26So I got there. Me and my roommate immediately
- 19:29started like first Sunday started going to different
- 19:32churches, seeing which one we liked and wanted to make like
- 19:37our home church in Tallahassee. I still kind of go back and
- 19:40forth between one or two, but then it was the same thing even
- 19:45outside of Sunday mornings. We me and my roommate joined a
- 19:49small group with one of the churches.
- 19:51We are now doing the run club that Peyton helps lead.
- 19:55And so just filling my time with things that are going to build
- 20:00me up in my faith and not lead me away from God.
- 20:04I think I it took, I had to be very intentional about it and
- 20:07make sure that what I was, yeah, what I was filling my time with
- 20:11was going to be productive for my faith.
- 20:15Mine is very different. So when I went, I did not have
- 20:20someone already there to help me plug in.
- 20:22So I kind of thought, and I had said this my senior year.
- 20:26I thought that there was a way that I could because you know,
- 20:28society is telling you like this is college.
- 20:30This is your time to like go out and just like you got to be in
- 20:35college, right? So I was like, OK, well, I love
- 20:38Jesus and but I also like want to experience what everyone else
- 20:41is talking about. So I thought that I could be in
- 20:44the world and of the world as well.
- 20:46I thought I could, like, ride that fine line.
- 20:48And that just didn't happen. So like, you just kind of like,
- 20:52fall into it. And then you're like, wait a
- 20:54second. This is like, more than what I
- 20:56really wanted. And it didn't help that I didn't
- 20:59really have a Christian community because everyone
- 21:01around me didn't love Jesus. And I didn't really know, like,
- 21:03how to find those people. Like, I was going to church and
- 21:05I was in small groups, but none of my like, roommates or people
- 21:09in my classes. Like I kind of felt like it was
- 21:12like a secret part of me that I just like, wasn't really like
- 21:14talking about that much unless I was in those settings.
- 21:18But so then I just decided I was like, I don't want to do this
- 21:22anymore. Luckily, the party scene didn't
- 21:24really like entice me that much. So it wasn't like something that
- 21:26I was like, you know, a prisoner to.
- 21:28I was able to just be like, yeah, I'm, I'm good on that.
- 21:30But I was like just praying and journaling about needing
- 21:35community because I was like, that's I think that's like
- 21:37really what I'm lacking is like, I don't have any friends that
- 21:40like want to get up and go to church with me on Sunday
- 21:44mornings. I was going by myself and then
- 21:47literally one of my friends asked me to go to a run club
- 21:51with her and I did not run at that point.
- 21:54Like I ran like as a punishment in sports, like now.
- 21:58You've run a marathon and. Now I run a marathon, but so I
- 22:04went with her to that and there was only like 8 people at this
- 22:08guy's house and one of them was like AFSU football player.
- 22:12And I was like, oh, so like, I don't run like that.
- 22:14But she ran like she was a runner.
- 22:16And I was like, I don't run like that.
- 22:18Like I don't know, this is going to be weird.
- 22:20So I just, I went and it was fine.
- 22:22And everybody's really nice. And then I went back the next
- 22:24weekend. And then I think like after a
- 22:26couple weeks, me being there, the one of the guys that was
- 22:28leading it, he asked me and my friend that we're going if we
- 22:31wanted to be in leadership with it because they were trying to
- 22:34grow it. And we were like, oh, like we'll
- 22:35think about it. And this is like right before
- 22:37Christmas break, I left, I went home and then I was right about
- 22:40to message him back and like, be like, hey, I want to do it
- 22:43because I've been praying about it over Christmas.
- 22:44And then boom, immediate text message back.
- 22:47He was like, hey, like, did you think about it?
- 22:49Like, we really want you? And I was like, yeah, like,
- 22:51actually I really do. And so that like transformed my
- 22:54college experience. That was, I think that was my
- 22:58last year of undergrad. It's been, I don't even know.
- 23:01It's been like a year and a half of this run club.
- 23:05And so we got it started up. We got like a bunch of people
- 23:10and I like built my community and I was able to go to church
- 23:13with them. I hung out with them outside of
- 23:15like church and outside of just like life.
- 23:18Like we just always were hanging out together.
- 23:20We were studying together, we were going and like Tallahassee
- 23:22has a huge like backyard band culture and like it's all like
- 23:25college students that have their own little like niche bands.
- 23:28So we would go to like see all of our friends in bands and like
- 23:30we would go to all their shows and like the backyards.
- 23:33And so we would just do that together a lot.
- 23:35And that I think is really well like got me out of like being
- 23:39one foot in one foot out that like really was was like, OK,
- 23:43you're, you're back in like you're done with that.
- 23:45Yeah. Because you can't be in the
- 23:47world and of the world or no, what is it?
- 23:50You? You can't.
- 23:52You can no. Be in the world but not.
- 23:54You can be in the world, but not of the world.
- 23:56But you can't like ride the like, you can't be on the fence.
- 23:59You can have one foot in and 1 foot out it.
- 24:01Kind of makes me think of like a tightrope, Like when you're
- 24:03walking a tightrope and tightrope and both feet are on
- 24:05there, everyone's like, OK, it's not that like it looks good,
- 24:08like you're safe ish. Like you lift that one leg up
- 24:10and everyone's. Like, yeah.
- 24:12'Cause it's dangerous, 'cause all you have to do is, you know,
- 24:15not step back onto the rope and you've slippery slope down, you
- 24:19know. Yeah.
- 24:20Also, if like, if you have any ounce of you that isn't fully
- 24:23committed to Christ, then you're giving the devil like that
- 24:26leeway to like, really take over.
- 24:29Like, you've got to be all in. If you're not all in like, then
- 24:32you're not all in, right? I think I think a lot of that of
- 24:36both of y'all stories is go to the show.
- 24:37Like that's how important community is.
- 24:40And like a lot when a lot of people are saying like, well,
- 24:41why church? Because a lot of it was like,
- 24:44well, I can just read my Bible at home.
- 24:45I can praise God at home and do all that kind of stuff, but just
- 24:49how much community provides like accountability, opportunity and
- 24:54then all that. Cause both of y'all knew like,
- 24:56Hey, when I, when I go over here, I was like, I'm going to
- 24:58need something's going to grab your attention.
- 25:01And so just being attention about what you're going to be
- 25:05around the community's going to shape that.
- 25:07The people you're around are going to shape that.
- 25:09And I like how what Addie said reminded me of a lot of my, my,
- 25:16my dad would always tell me and he was like, you know, if you,
- 25:19you got to decide while you're in your right mind what you're
- 25:22going to do. Because if you, if you don't
- 25:24plan, then when you get there, you're just going to do whatever
- 25:27feels right in the moment. A lot of those last minute
- 25:31decisions are usually not like the best decisions.
- 25:35I know we've all sort of been there.
- 25:37There was, and it could be just as, I don't want to say easy,
- 25:40but just as simple as if you see yourself going down one way,
- 25:44it's like let me find a community that's going to bring
- 25:47me back. And it's not like let me get
- 25:48back on my own. It's let me find a community and
- 25:50then it's just so much easier to.
- 25:53Yeah, my moment of like transition from high school into
- 25:57adulthood, I, I struggled with that because like my graduating
- 26:02class from Trinity wasn't very big and none of us were very
- 26:05tight. And so like, like Addie, I
- 26:09immediately plugged back into the youth group.
- 26:11But like Peyton said, I was living in both worlds.
- 26:14So like Sundays and Wednesdays I was leading a small group, but
- 26:17you know, Fridays and Saturdays I was going out with my Co
- 26:19workers because like, it was a whole new life.
- 26:24And I think it, it took Matt firing me from being a small
- 26:27group leader for me to realize like, I have to pick where I'm
- 26:30going to live. And I, I obviously picked to,
- 26:34you know, walk with the Lord and to leave partying behind and
- 26:39just being more responsible and how I take care of myself.
- 26:42But it, that was like a big wake up call for me was when, you
- 26:45know, my trusted mentor was like, yeah, I don't need you to
- 26:49come back next semester. So and so is going to take over
- 26:52your small group. So like, you're free to go.
- 26:54And that free to go was like, it just stung.
- 26:58I was like, Oh no, he knows on Sunday morning when I'm here
- 27:02with my Sprite why I have a Sprite so.
- 27:06Let me not hold you back. Yeah, he was like, you go do
- 27:09what you need to do as a 2021 year old and let me know when
- 27:15you're ready. OK.
- 27:19So all right, so you guys are career pursuing careers in
- 27:24healthcare and nutrition. How have you learned to see your
- 27:29future work as part of God's calling rather than just a job
- 27:32and it being a ministry that you're going to get to foster?
- 27:38Yeah, I mean, I don't really know exactly what my career is
- 27:42going to look like. Like right now I'm just kind of
- 27:43like trying to be in the moment. Like I have like my steps.
- 27:46Like I finished undergrad, now I have to get a master's degree
- 27:49halfway done with that. Then I have to do internships.
- 27:51Like I don't really, like know exactly where it's going to take
- 27:54me once I become a registered dietitian.
- 27:56I have like things that I want to do, but like, obviously
- 28:00that's not really my control. I'm just kind of kind of like be
- 28:02in the moment and let like the Lord kind of guide my path.
- 28:06But I don't know. I think that whatever it is, I
- 28:09know that it's going to be from God because I feel like he gave
- 28:12me the passion for it. Like I wouldn't have made it
- 28:16this many years learning about nutrition if I didn't love it.
- 28:18And I do. And like I'm sure like Addie can
- 28:21attest to this, like even in like family settings or like
- 28:23when we're hanging out, like I will talk about it.
- 28:25Like if anybody asks me a question about anything food
- 28:28related, like it hypes me up and I will just like go down a
- 28:31rabbit hole. Like, I'll just give you all the
- 28:32information about it, but I just feel like that passion had to
- 28:36come from the Lord. So I feel like he's going to
- 28:38foster that and like guide that into something that like is, you
- 28:45know, going to help people. And so yeah, I just feel like
- 28:48that's going to like he's going to foster that and guide that
- 28:50and take it where it needs to go.
- 28:52And obviously, like, everybody has to eat.
- 28:53So I'm going to be able to do something with everyone if like
- 28:57that's what he has me do. But yeah, I.
- 29:02Since having you in office I've been observing your lunches and
- 29:05like you make it a point to eat. I'm really bad about having
- 29:08three meals a day and I know it's so important to have three
- 29:11meals a day and like 2 snacks and what?
- 29:145. Oh yeah, I said three meals a
- 29:16day and two snacks. Oh, if my, my, no, my mom is
- 29:19listening to this right now and I'm, she'll tell you like I do
- 29:22not miss a meal. Well, I'm I'm so bad at it and
- 29:25it's. Reflected 4 or 5.
- 29:27It reflects in my labs and my weight and all of these things.
- 29:31And so since you've been in the office, I've been making it more
- 29:33of a point to like, pack food to eat throughout the day.
- 29:36And I try, like, before I eat, like, leave the office, I'm
- 29:39like, OK, I'm going to have my crackers and my baby bell cheese
- 29:43and, like, my little meat. Yesterday, I came up with a cup
- 29:46of oatmeal. And I was like, I cheered myself
- 29:48on at the end of dinner. And I was like, I had three
- 29:49meals today printed. One of them was like an adult
- 29:53lunchable. But yeah.
- 29:54But it's I've never inspired her that much.
- 29:56So she. Doesn't.
- 29:57Yeah, if y'all don't know, Josiah keeps the jar of peanut
- 29:59butter on his desk. Kind of like Ted lies where he
- 30:02just comes by and takes a scoop. Yeah, just kidding.
- 30:04With the rice cakes don't look to be clear, I'm not just like
- 30:07spooning. Jars.
- 30:09And also a pack of. There just so you know, I I got,
- 30:13I got 3 workouts in today. I'm really trying to be better
- 30:15about my health, you guys today. Or yesterday.
- 30:18I got one in today. I took a break yesterday and
- 30:21then I did one Tuesday and 1:00 Monday, so I've done. 3 this
- 30:24week. Yeah, arms, a bar class arrest.
- 30:28And then today I did back and chest.
- 30:33I'm trying, but I've been inspired by like that until like
- 30:36I observe your lunch and I'm like, I could pack things like
- 30:38that. I was really happy.
- 30:39Everybody was really interested in my chicken salad recipe.
- 30:41You. Should share the recipe.
- 30:42Share Share. With people, yeah.
- 30:44OK, so I get. OK, so obviously living in
- 30:46Tallahassee, most of this comes from Trader Joe's, but you can
- 30:48find different brands. I get a can of chicken because,
- 30:51I'm sorry, convenience. I'm not cooking a chicken breast
- 30:54and shredding it. Just get the one that's in
- 30:55water. It tastes fine.
- 30:56Drain it, and then you put in like a rap ton of yogurt, Greek
- 31:02yogurt, unflavored. And then the Trader Joe's ranch
- 31:05seasoning, Pour that on there, a little bit of sweet pickle
- 31:09relish from Trader Joe's or wherever, salt and pepper.
- 31:12Mix it all together, Hannah Montana style, and eat it with
- 31:15crackers, bell Peppers and cucumbers.
- 31:19Or you can put it in a wrapper on a sandwich.
- 31:21And it's so fire. Yeah.
- 31:23No relish. And it's really good.
- 31:24Oh yeah, I didn't put relish in it when I brought it to the
- 31:26office. Yeah.
- 31:27How many ounces is a crap ton? OK, so I just like, I'm kidding
- 31:31and there's probably like 1/2 of a cup for a can of chicken or if
- 31:36you really want it like super creamy chicken salad more, I
- 31:40don't know, it's kind of just measure with your heart.
- 31:43I love that I want to say before, like it gets too far
- 31:46off, like just the, I love what you're talking about, like your
- 31:49the pat like I don't know where my career is going, but I know
- 31:51what I have a passion is and I just want to use that passion.
- 31:55Like that passion was given to me.
- 31:57And the way I've always seen things is like the gifts that
- 32:00God gives you is like the gifts of passion.
- 32:02Like like for me when it comes to music, Oh my gosh, you're so
- 32:06just naturally gifted. And I was like, I don't think I
- 32:09have a natural gift for music. I have a natural passion for it
- 32:13because that passion is what led me to be good at it per SE.
- 32:18And so and I just like, that's why I always inspire or
- 32:22encourage people to do and think about is like, try to find
- 32:25something you have a passion for and then like see how you can
- 32:27use that passion while also at the same time, you know, we all
- 32:32live in this America, we got to eat.
- 32:34So we'll also try to find how can my passion, how?
- 32:38Can I monetize this? Yeah.
- 32:40Well, you got to put food on the plate, but then at the same time
- 32:42like. But I do honestly believe, like
- 32:45if you strive to increase your passion and then use your
- 32:49passion for God, he'll open that door.
- 32:52So it's like, here's where you can use it.
- 32:53Here's where you can use it and he'll make sure you're fed along
- 32:57the way. That's what I truly.
- 32:59Yeah, and I feel like that's something that I've had to learn
- 33:01a lot in the last year cuz one of my roommates is going into
- 33:03ministry and she's getting a degree in something that's not
- 33:06ministry and she does not enjoy learning it that much.
- 33:09Like she just kind of is trying to get through it and like she's
- 33:12killing it. If you're listening.
- 33:14Not there, Emma love you. But she is like just not wanting
- 33:18to do that for a career. But she's really, really
- 33:20passionate about ministry. And she's like, I don't know how
- 33:23this is going to make me money. I have no idea.
- 33:25But I will be poor if I can spread the gospel.
- 33:28And I was like, wow, like, maybe I need to adopt that mindset
- 33:31even in like my nutrition career, Like, it's OK if I don't
- 33:34do something that's making me the most money because the Lord
- 33:36will provide. And I was like, she just hit
- 33:39that on the head for me this year.
- 33:41And I was like, wow. That's how I ended up in
- 33:43ministry. I was terrified to like actually
- 33:45be in ministry because I was like, how am I going to like pay
- 33:47for life? How am I going to do this?
- 33:49Because I, I had to do a research project in college
- 33:51success and I picked youth ministry as what I was doing it
- 33:55on and decided afterwards like, oh, I can't do this.
- 33:58And, like, all within the same week of me at Oakwood accepting
- 34:01my, like, God being like, come on, listen to what I'm saying.
- 34:05I'm even like, OK, I hear you, like, loud and clear.
- 34:07And the same week it was like that happened, John bought a
- 34:11house. John proposed.
- 34:14And like, that's my partner for life.
- 34:16And so, like, he does, he covers the things that like, I wouldn't
- 34:19have been able to. And like, we're just a team.
- 34:23Yeah. You just like lean into your
- 34:24passions. I feel like it'll all just kind
- 34:26of work itself out. Like God doesn't put those like
- 34:28passions on your heart for no reason.
- 34:30Yeah, John was really supportive and like the you want to do
- 34:33youth ministry. Like why?
- 34:34Why are you torturing yourself trying to do other things?
- 34:37Like this is your passion. This is what God's called you to
- 34:39do. Why are we, why?
- 34:41Why are you sitting through another class that isn't going
- 34:43to do anything for you? But my degree is not in
- 34:45ministry. My degree is something called
- 34:47Children's Society. And so it was criminal justice,
- 34:51social work, an education which gets used a lot.
- 34:56Yeah, I thought you could definitely use.
- 34:58That yeah. And then it's just something I
- 35:00hear all the time when people like, you know, church won't pay
- 35:03your bills or like God won't pay your bills.
- 35:06Like, because like it's like, because they always, because in
- 35:08their mindset, they're like, you have to do something that's
- 35:10going to pay your bills. And but, and it's a hard thing
- 35:14to like to lino because it does, it takes a lot of trust to where
- 35:16you're like, if God wants to do this thing, he's not going to
- 35:21have me. I'm not going to go and do this
- 35:22thing and then like not be able to survive when he's like, he'll
- 35:26lead the way. And but it takes a lot of it
- 35:30takes a lot of trust. And the only way I've learned
- 35:33that is like I had one, I've had examples.
- 35:37One example of that I'll share real quick is I was close with a
- 35:43Jim who was like a nonprofit Jim and they were their biggest
- 35:47mission was to help and support kids.
- 35:50But in order to do that, they had to do a lot of they gave a
- 35:53lot of free training. And so very often they, I
- 35:57remember hearing from them almost monthly, they're like, we
- 35:59don't know where the how the next bill is going to get paid.
- 36:03Like we don't know how the next where the next food's going to
- 36:06come from. We don't know what's where
- 36:07anything's going to come from. But month after month, year
- 36:10after year, whether it was through donations or just random
- 36:15financial incomings, they would just things would get filled,
- 36:19things, things would get done. And, and that's the, the trust
- 36:24it takes where it's like if, if I know that God has me to do in
- 36:28a mission, I just go and do that mission and then just sit back
- 36:33and wonder about like how he's just filling those.
- 36:36Filling those doors. Provided that, you know, we're,
- 36:39we're utilizing the best that he's given us, you know?
- 36:45That's good. Yeah, I mean it goes back, what
- 36:47is it, Proverbs 3/5 through six that talks about like a proverb.
- 36:51Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
- 36:52Yeah, when you submit your plans to him like he's going to make
- 36:55the path. Yeah, straight.
- 36:56He's also not failed if you wake up, if you woke up this morning,
- 36:59like he didn't fail you like every day that you're giving
- 37:02breath in your lungs like that's God.
- 37:05He's not failed you yet. So why are you like stressing
- 37:07out that like everything's going to fall apart?
- 37:09Like I've never gone hungry or homeless.
- 37:11So like clearly I've we I've made it work and like but.
- 37:15Even those who are homeless, like some of them have the most
- 37:18joy because they're not, like, confined to like the
- 37:22restrictions of what the world worldly standards are.
- 37:25Yeah. So all right, let's give Batty
- 37:27or Addie a chance. Sorry, we go.
- 37:29We call her Batty Addie at church.
- 37:32But let's give I want to hear what you say to How do you see
- 37:39your future work as part of God's calling rather than just a
- 37:42job? Well, that's actually an
- 37:45interesting question. Question for me because I'm
- 37:47still figuring it out. I mean, I said before, like when
- 37:51I said I wanted to be an interior designer, I'm talking
- 37:54about like less than a year ago. I made that decision.
- 37:56That choice always baffled me. I never said it out loud because
- 37:59I didn't want to have crush hopes and dreams, but I was.
- 38:02Like interior? What was your ACT score?
- 38:03Yeah, a 33. Yeah.
- 38:05One time she took it and got a 33.
- 38:07I took it like 8 times must. Be nice.
- 38:09Yeah, yeah. Well, so literally I applied to
- 38:13FSU as an interior design major and then I within the span of
- 38:17probably four months, I was a nursing major and then I was a
- 38:23preclinical professions major and now I'm behavioral
- 38:26neuroscience. So I changed a lot.
- 38:29I'm still figuring out where I'm called to be, what I'm called to
- 38:34do. Obviously right now the goal is
- 38:38medical school after I graduate, but where that's going to take
- 38:41me because that's pretty broad category, I'm not sure yet.
- 38:46And really the only thing in my life that I have ever felt
- 38:50called to be is a mom one day. Like that's all I want to do
- 38:54really is be a mom. And like that's the one thing
- 38:57that I've known for sure pretty much my entire life.
- 38:59And so separating like what I feel like I'm called to be
- 39:05versus what I'm called to do as my career is something I'm still
- 39:08working out. And so it's been in my prayers a
- 39:12lot lately. Like God, right now, this is
- 39:15what I'm working towards. I'm working towards going to
- 39:17medical school. But if you have another
- 39:19direction you want me to go in like I'm down, like wherever you
- 39:23want to take me, that's where I'm going.
- 39:28So yeah, still figuring it out a little bit, but we're getting
- 39:31there. That's tough to be smart enough
- 39:33to have so many different avenues.
- 39:35I was only smart enough to have 30 a few my my option plate
- 39:39wasn't much because it's like I was going to college for one
- 39:41thing and realized, oh, college is not for you.
- 39:43And I was like, there's only so many doors left.
- 39:45So, but that, I mean, congratulations on being
- 39:49amazing. Thanks.
- 39:50Congrats on being a genius. But yeah, I do.
- 39:55But I do hear and feel where you're coming from just as far
- 39:57as like the wait and you'll figure it out because a lot of
- 40:01times it's just about, well, I know what I'm supposed to do and
- 40:03just wake up tomorrow and keep exactly so and they'll take care
- 40:07of the rest. That's how I've been going
- 40:08through life. Just like wake up tomorrow, what
- 40:11do I have to do? And that that's what I'm going
- 40:13to do. And you know.
- 40:15I know me personally, I was always frustrated by the what do
- 40:18you plan to do in five years? I was like, I can't control the
- 40:21wind. So I I mean I'm not the.
- 40:22One in charge. My five year plan is whittled
- 40:24down to about a week. I got that a lot when I
- 40:27graduated undergrad. They're like, what's next?
- 40:29I was like, heck if I know. Ask God, don't.
- 40:32Ask me. That's it.
- 40:33I don't know. But I know you're I'm not
- 40:35writing the story here. Yeah.
- 40:36Exactly right. Hey I'm just flipping the page.
- 40:38Yeah, I would love to talk more about mom stuff with you
- 40:41sometime and like the balance of like professional, like a
- 40:45professional job and like who you're called to be.
- 40:48Those are really difficult things to work through.
- 40:52It was, it's still really difficult for me to like figure
- 40:54it out because they say you can be both, but like, there's
- 40:57always a compromise somewhere in it.
- 40:59And I learned a lot from you in that, like how you balance.
- 41:03James in the library next door. Yeah, being.
- 41:05An amazing mother and also an amazing youth pastor.
- 41:07So yeah. And I feel like our moms too,
- 41:10like they both have professional.
- 41:11Who I'm so excited to work with on ARM next week.
- 41:15I'm so excited that they're coming with us.
- 41:17We love you, Gina and Lindsay. Yes.
- 41:19OK. So we've got some rapid fire
- 41:20questions to wrap this up. What are you most?
- 41:24Thank you, Thank you so much. What are you most excited for to
- 41:27for this summer? What are you excited about
- 41:30within your internship? I'm most excited for to go on
- 41:37trips and go to arm with my mom and my dad and my aunt and Addie
- 41:42like my. Cousin, if you haven't picked up
- 41:45yet. Oh, and our moms are identical
- 41:46twins. Yeah, they're so cute.
- 41:48They're basically sisters. Yeah.
- 41:50Yes. I was also gonna say ARM, but I
- 41:54know that's not really like we're going as college students,
- 41:57not interns. You'll be you'll be asked to
- 42:01help as much as interns. The whole thing is serving.
- 42:03They all get asked to do something.
- 42:05Yeah, true. I would say.
- 42:07I mean I'm just stoked about arm and I, I would say Oak would be
- 42:11by next but I can't. Go.
- 42:15So are you as stoked as Janus? I am as stoked.
- 42:18As she was just telling us, did you know there's three days
- 42:22until Arm and I was like every. 5 seconds because I'm so excited
- 42:27for ARM next. Week, she loves it.
- 42:29She's so high. We got to talk about that
- 42:30sometime on the podcast, Taking her to to arm.
- 42:34Do you have a question? Be on that podcast.
- 42:36Well, yeah, do you, do you want to ask a rapid fire or do you
- 42:38want me to keep going? Keep going, I thought.
- 42:39Aren't you supposed to be prepared for rapid fire?
- 42:41Questions. No.
- 42:42OK. I just wanted to give you an
- 42:43opportunity, Sir. Anyway.
- 42:44OK. What is one of your favorite
- 42:47memories as ATSM member? Oh, Oh my goodness.
- 42:52This wasn't on the wait. I got it.
- 42:54My first SLU. Yes.
- 42:57Me, you and Maddie, really every SLU.
- 43:00But the first one, we had no idea what we were doing.
- 43:03We were just figuring it out as we went and it was so much fun.
- 43:06It was truly a don't anticipate participate.
- 43:08Absolutely. We none of us knew what the next
- 43:12hour was going to be. And I loved it the entire.
- 43:14Time so good. I don't know, I my time in youth
- 43:18had a lot of like weird things that happened that like.
- 43:21Like breaking down in Gainesville.
- 43:22Breaking down in Gainesville my senior trip, the bus broke down
- 43:25multiple times. In Tallahassee, were you on the
- 43:27middle school mystery trip? No, I was not, but I was all my
- 43:31friends were like I should have been there but I couldn't have.
- 43:33And I was my heart went out to y'all sitting on the side of the
- 43:35Interstate. But like, I don't know.
- 43:37Sometimes those moments were the ones that like became like the
- 43:40fun little like trauma bond memories and then all the oak
- 43:44wits. Those are always really fun.
- 43:46Yeah. Where have you seen God the most
- 43:49since starting your internship in the last what, 2 weeks?
- 43:53Because it can be when you get into ministry.
- 43:55If you haven't noticed, we talked about a lot about
- 43:57passion. It can become a lot of work.
- 44:01So where? Where have you seen God?
- 44:03And the answered prayers for peace.
- 44:05I mean, I talked about earlier, I've got a lot going on this
- 44:08summer. And so saying yes to the
- 44:10internship I took a week before I gave you an answer.
- 44:13And it was because I was thinking, am I going to be able
- 44:15to do all of this in a summer? Am I going to be exhausted and
- 44:20not have time for anything else other than like work?
- 44:24And when we went to coffee, I was fully ready to take it off.
- 44:26You like to to have you not. And I, I thought about it and I
- 44:30was like, you know what? No, like, and this is something
- 44:33I'm passionate about and I want to be a part of it.
- 44:35So I'm not going to let you know, fear of like, oh, am I
- 44:39going to be too tired? Like I can sleep when I'm dead.
- 44:43No rest. Rest is holy.
- 44:45OK, rest. Did I tell you that I'm pretty?
- 44:47Sure you did. Banana, who goes to bed at 9:00?
- 44:50Yeah. She did tell me that, actually.
- 44:51I'm seeing where. The 30 the 33 ACT score come
- 44:53from. And so I think I in my mind, it
- 44:59was just like, if this is where God wants me to be, then it's
- 45:02going to work out. And so I prayed a lot for like,
- 45:05peace and rest and like, just to be this summer.
- 45:09And I feel like even just in the last two weeks, getting started
- 45:12with all of work, all of the internships, I felt a lot of
- 45:16peace with it. And so summer's going great so
- 45:19far. And yeah, that's where I've seen
- 45:21God. For me, it's kind of the same
- 45:24thing, but I, I did not go back to one of my other jobs that
- 45:27I've been usually working over the summer while I'm in college.
- 45:30And that's been the source of my financial stability was that
- 45:33job. And so not going back to it was
- 45:36kind of scary because I was like, oh, I have bills and
- 45:39things that I have to pay and I wanted to save up and, you know,
- 45:43have some money put aside for next semester and paying for my
- 45:46rent and all those things and student loans.
- 45:49And I was like, this is going to kind of stink.
- 45:52Like what if I take this internship and I don't go back
- 45:55to my job? And then I really regret it.
- 45:57But honestly, I haven't. Like, I feel like it goes back
- 46:00to what Josiah was saying, like it's, it's going to happen.
- 46:03Like you're, you got to go with your passions and he'll make
- 46:05away. And he has, and 1st month of
- 46:08paying my bills over the summer was a success.
- 46:10So it's fine. I did it.
- 46:11I got it done. I'm excited to see what God
- 46:14doesn't for you this year because you really have just
- 46:18like taking that leap of faith and I'm choosing this over what
- 46:22would worldly be the financial smart decisions and you're all
- 46:28in. I'm excited to see how God turns
- 46:29that around for you. Thanks.
- 46:31All right. Last question, quick answers for
- 46:33the Trinity Student Ministry people that are listening,
- 46:36what's a word of advice you have for them this summer?
- 46:41This one's been one that I've been like leaning into a lot for
- 46:45like probably the last like year and a half.
- 46:47But the Sabbath, look into it, like really take a Sabbath
- 46:52because it helps slow you down. And when you're in high school
- 46:55and in middle school and you're so busy with sports and
- 46:57extracurriculars, like it can be like, you feel like you're like
- 47:00not actually living your life. You're watching yourself live
- 47:02it. But if you like take a Sabbath
- 47:04and slow down, it makes it go by a little slower.
- 47:07You can really like, sit in the moment.
- 47:10I think for me, it's like, I guess this is more, I guess for
- 47:14older high school, but you're not behind.
- 47:18You don't have to have it all figured out.
- 47:19I definitely didn't. And I thought that that meant
- 47:22that I was behind or I wasn't doing everything right.
- 47:24But it's everyone's first time living and no one has it all
- 47:28figured out. So as a junior or senior in high
- 47:31school, you also don't have to have it all figured out.
- 47:33Even adults, we don't have it figured out.
- 47:35It's just one day at a time. And I'm figuring that out now
- 47:37too, yeah. Well, good.
- 47:39It's not my job to have it figured out.
- 47:40Gosh, it's fun when you don't have it figured out, because
- 47:43then you get to be surprised when something happens.
- 47:45You're like, wait, I did that. That's kind of cool.
- 47:47That's the most type B thing I've ever heard.
- 47:49I'm not, not, no. There's a reason that they're
- 47:53here. With us very much like to be in
- 47:54control of my life, but when God surprised me with something I'm
- 47:57like wow that's so cool. Thanks pleasant you.
- 47:59Should come over to the dark side of type B.
- 48:01No, don't. Absolutely not.
- 48:02I used to be that person, all right.
- 48:04I cannot. Youth ministry has made me not
- 48:06Type B. Anyway, we are so excited to
- 48:09have you guys this summer. You have done tremendous work
- 48:12already with Josiah and I, and we are just so grateful and
- 48:15appreciative for everything that you do.
- 48:18For those of you listening, take time to come over to the 945
- 48:21Service and say hi to Addison and Peyton.
- 48:23We would love for you to meet our interns.
- 48:26And yeah, thank you guys for being here and in everything in
- 48:30between with us. Thank.
- 48:32You for having us, Yay bye.
