- 0:00I wanted to just explain what Shmini activity is about.
- 0:06We're not Shinaraba, we have Hardy, the Hardy, the Hardy.
- 0:10Each one's got its own title. He had Sukkot.
- 0:13The 7th day of the court is rational about.
- 0:16What it really is rational about, as we explained
- 0:18yesterday, is the completion of Sukkot and Horshana.
- 0:23The word na nuna olive Day 51, it's called day 51 since the
- 0:27beginning of the court. So Shinaa ABBA is the completion
- 0:30of something. So now you go into today was
- 0:34considered a powerful day of Tavila.
- 0:35It still is a powerful day of Tavila and it was an important
- 0:39day of staying up of reading last night and staying up late
- 0:43time. Let's burn the candle a little
- 0:44too late. And that's how we ended up what
- 0:46we ended up this morning. But it's an important day of
- 0:49Shiaa'ba in every way. And then it goes into Shimina.
- 0:54I'd say it. So how does it work?
- 0:57It's basically thank you. It's basically getting closer
- 1:01and closer to Hashem. The overall idea is you're
- 1:04getting closer and closer, but again, not in the serious way
- 1:08that Yom Kippur did, much more in the happy way that Sukot
- 1:14does. What's happening is you're
- 1:15getting closer and closer. The Passo concertion even says
- 1:18the words have yani Mela Khazarov.
- 1:21The king brought me into his room, which means that we're
- 1:25bringing closer, being worked privately close to our shaman's.
- 1:28On Sukkot, nobody talks about this, but on Sukkot, Sukkot's a
- 1:33good holiday. What does it mean it's a good
- 1:35holiday? That means that if you listen to
- 1:39Torah reading during entire Sukkot, you're a lot of cows.
- 1:43Part by this and part that we serve over the course of Sukkot
- 1:47in the Torah reading, 70 cows, 70 cows represents in 70
- 1:53nations, which technically speaking was a form of
- 1:56protection. We brought those coconut and
- 1:58vetting with ash as a foreign protection for those 17 nations.
- 2:02So the sakort is really hard and it also protects the goeme.
- 2:06Those animals were being served on their behalf.
- 2:09Then comes Shminyat said it. Now Shminyat said it, which is
- 2:13tonight is all right. We do not serve any coconut for
- 2:18them. It's just our cobon representing
- 2:20ourselves and that's it. So it's in today where we
- 2:24represent the fact that we as Jews have a private relationship
- 2:28with God, and that means we have an extra special, extra direct
- 2:32connection to Hashem. And we noticed that and realized
- 2:35that on Shamini at Stairs. Tonight's holiday is in a
- 2:38certain sense the highest level of happiness.
- 2:43And without the same, not saying it's the highest day of the
- 2:45year, that's Yom Kippur, but it's the strongest level of
- 2:49connection to Hashem. Bisumka, that's what it is.
- 2:52So you have different types of connections.
- 2:54You got on Kippur to your connection was a serious one.
- 2:57On Kippur your connection was one with fasting, with a very
- 3:01great amount of service on Shamina said it.
- 3:05It's a very high level of connection to Hashem, but to
- 3:08happiness through joy. And it took and it took, excuse
- 3:11me entirely, 7 days of Sukkot to reach the pinnacle of happiness,
- 3:16to get to that point of serving Hashem, Basimka.
- 3:20So it mirrors Kapoor Shimini has said it does, but that was
- 3:25mirroring that was in seriousness.
- 3:27And this is service of Hashem and happiness.
- 3:29And we know as Jews that we have the top 2 minds at all time.
- 3:33You have you have you know which is fear and you have Ava which
- 3:38is love. These are the top 2.
- 3:40As Jews, we are always required to somehow have a brain that has
- 3:43both going on fear of God and love of God.
- 3:47And it's a very difficult thing to do both same time.
- 3:50We have the top day of fear, which is Kippur, and you have
- 3:53the top day of Ava. Oshiminiya said it.
- 3:57And this explains why the rabbi's some khatura came from
- 4:02where? Where'd some khatura come from?
- 4:05Where'd some khatura come from? The rabbi came up with it.
- 4:10The rabbis decided and we finished it.
- 4:13So that used to be every three years, Now it's every year.
- 4:18And they decided to create a day of celebration like assume for
- 4:23some hot Torah they celebrate and they chose Shamini.
- 4:28I said it the Rabba Aziz because they scheduled the calendar in a
- 4:32way that we finish the Surah every year on Shamini, I said.
- 4:35And the question is asked you guys the question different
- 4:38ways. One way of asking the question
- 4:39is how did the rabbas have a right to take an already
- 4:43existing holiday and insert a different celebration?
- 4:48Remember this Shiminiya said it. It is a separate Holland Saha
- 4:52Torah. Shiminiya said it is the real
- 4:55holiday. Somatara is the rabbinical
- 4:57edition. How can the rabbis add a
- 5:00celebration of Torah? Assume by somebody else's part.
- 5:05It's like going to a wedding. Literally like going to a
- 5:07wedding and making us see you by somebody else's wedding.
- 5:11How do you have the nerve? How do you have when is this
- 5:15time you're So we have a how where is some hahaha come into
- 5:18this? Where is some hahaha, which is
- 5:21celebration of the completion of Rita come into a different
- 5:24celebration, it seems of Shimenya said it.
- 5:28So the theme and the idea depth is that Shimenya said it in a
- 5:33celebration of our closeness to God, a celebration Ahava and
- 5:38Bisimha with love and with joy of that relationship with
- 5:42Hashem. And the Rabbi said chose this
- 5:47time because they say this is the exact time these you
- 5:50celebrate the love of Torah. How does that sell?
- 5:52How does that fit? He's celebrating your
- 5:54relationship with God. Where is the Torah coming?
- 5:58So is he very clear? Your relationship with God, your
- 6:02love of Hashem, your connection to Hashem, His strongest
- 6:07connection that you have to God is through your study of Torah.
- 6:11The idea that I love God is a very lofty concept.
- 6:14I love Hashem. What does that mean?
- 6:16That means I jump up in the streets and say I love Hashem.
- 6:19We love Hashem like people do out there.
- 6:21No, when it says love Hashem, what it really means is you have
- 6:25a literal, sort of, in a certain sense almost borderline physical
- 6:30relationship with God. What does that mean?
- 6:31Through the Torah's existence and through your reading,
- 6:35learning and celebration of Torah, That is how you celebrate
- 6:41your love of God. Otherwise, it's too lofty.
- 6:44There's no connection. Your connection, you are about
- 6:47Hashem, in reality is through your love of Torah.
- 6:51What that means is like this. You sit down and you learn a
- 6:56Mishnah. You sit down.
- 6:57You learn a piece of Gemara. You sit down.
- 6:59You go to a class and you connect to it.
- 7:02The class hits you. You hear a piece of tada, it
- 7:05goes in. You hear a class, it goes in.
- 7:09It comes out of you. Eventually.
- 7:11It gives you a certain degree of satisfaction and a certain
- 7:14degree of joy. That joy that you'd feel when
- 7:19you study tada, That joy, that special feeling elevation that
- 7:23you feel when you hear a class. When you learn a Mishna, you
- 7:27learn a piece of Gemara. That joy that you feel when you
- 7:30fight a Gemara, right? You have a Kamala, you don't
- 7:33know what it's saying, and you figure it out that that special
- 7:36feeling that you feel when you get right, that feeling that we
- 7:40get when we go through the Torah is a vehicle, is a manner with
- 7:44which we connect to our Avatarshem.
- 7:48So Smenya said the day of love of God, that's what it is.
- 7:52It's his strongest day of love and of joy, celebrating that
- 7:56love of God. But the manner with which we
- 7:59connect to that love of God is Thora or Torah.
- 8:03Otherwise, if I told you you love Hashem, people have
- 8:08something, we love Hashem, It's a common thing.
- 8:09And say I love Hashem, what does that mean?
- 8:12Find me the tangible way to love Hashem, The manner with which
- 8:16you love God, the way you display your love of God and the
- 8:19way you connect the Hashem. So much more stronger is through
- 8:23your understanding, your learning, your absorbing, you're
- 8:27taking in of tura knowledge. And so Shinha Tura, which is the
- 8:32strongest celebration of our tura learning in the shivot of
- 8:38old, it's brought down and I saw it in the fighting not so long
- 8:42ago. If you looked at Yom Kippur and
- 8:45you looked at Somha Tura, one of the rabbis once said, I don't
- 8:48know which one of these days is greater for us.
- 8:51Is Yom Kippur more impressive to God or is Alice Somkhatura more
- 8:56impressive to God? Somkhatura is from the rabbis.
- 8:58Somkhatura was made-up a number of years ago.
- 9:00It wasn't from the Torah. How could you even say that?
- 9:03How could someone stay at Somkhatura might be on par with
- 9:07the Yom Kippur because Somkhatura at its core is a day
- 9:12when we celebrate our love of Hashem, not simply our love of
- 9:16the Torah, our love of Hashem, our Shaminya said, our personal
- 9:20connection to God. But the way we do that is
- 9:23through rejoicing and through connecting and through learning
- 9:26our Torah. And when we learn it and we take
- 9:28it in, we connect to Hashem because this is our manner.
- 9:32It's our physical. When I say physical, I mean I'd
- 9:34say it's our this world world, way of connection to another
- 9:40world concept. If you think about it, the
- 9:42concept, a person loves their wife, they love their children.
- 9:46That's a physical thing. That's makes sense as material
- 9:49exists, right? Loving Hashem on his natural
- 9:54level doesn't really work, doesn't really.
- 9:57You can't grasp it. The manner with which you grasp
- 10:00it in depth, and this is very deep, is through making a
- 10:03connection. How do you take yourself, which
- 10:05is worldly, to God, which is otherworldly?
- 10:09You take the one thing that exists in the world that is both
- 10:13otherworldly in this world. What's the one thing in this
- 10:15world that is otherworldly and this worldly?
- 10:20It came from Allahabad, came to La Maza.
- 10:22The only thing in this world that has travelled, so to speak,
- 10:25to universes is a Tudah. Tudah started there by God and
- 10:31came here to us. Understand, Michela Beno had to
- 10:35go up there and fight for it, fight with the angels.
- 10:39You've heard about the fight. What was the fight?
- 10:42The angels said Torah is supposed to be up there.
- 10:46Torah is not meant for these worldly physical people.
- 10:49That was the fight. And then Monsieur Bello's
- 10:51response, Hashem says the Monsieur Bello, do you notice?
- 10:56Give him an answer and hold on to the Kisiaka votes for
- 11:01Hashem's protection and give him an answer.
- 11:03And Monsieur Bello's answer was, does it say, I forget the exact
- 11:08lines which persisting is does it?
- 11:09It says the Tara don't do the say don't eat on kosher, for
- 11:12example, do angels eat? It says the Tara keep Shabbat.
- 11:16Do angels work? It says in Tara, this doesn't
- 11:19fit for you guys. So therefore Moshera Barrow had
- 11:22an argument and the angels had nothing to respond.
- 11:25And Moshera Barrow was able to bring the Tara from that world,
- 11:29from the God world down to our world.
- 11:32But that created the connection of these two worlds.
- 11:36So on some khatura, where Shaminya said is the real theme,
- 11:40connecting to Hashem is the real theme.
- 11:42The manner with which we do it is by connecting to the one item
- 11:47that travels 2 worlds, and that one item is awatoda.
- 11:52And this explains why when you sit and learn, you become
- 11:57smarter. This explains why when you
- 11:59learn, you become a finer person.
- 12:01This explains when you learn you become loftier person.
- 12:04When you can answer or make the right decisions after you learn.
- 12:08How do you explain how rabbis are able to give you advice on
- 12:13business? I'm, I'm in the rabbi business.
- 12:17I'm not in the business world, OK?
- 12:19I don't work. I don't run a warehouse.
- 12:21I don't run an office. I don't do any of that stuff,
- 12:24OK? I don't think I can handle 5
- 12:26minutes in the warehouse. It's pretty scary for me how
- 12:28they can handle 5 minutes in the office.
- 12:29So if people fight, I'm not ready for this, OK.
- 12:33Now I do believe that rabbis have the capability at certain
- 12:37times to give advice. Or how about if someone has the
- 12:41rabbi, should they go to the doctor or not, right?
- 12:44At times rabbis have given very clear advice on these issues.
- 12:48Or someone wants to figure out, they shall invite, and the rabbi
- 12:52tells them a certain thing. The rabbi knows exactly what's
- 12:56going on at home. He may not know.
- 12:58He has to know something before he gives an answer.
- 13:00He doesn't know everything that's going on.
- 13:02So where does he get his clarity from?
- 13:04The answer is very simple, because that rabbi connected to
- 13:08Hashem a lot, because he learned, hopefully a lot.
- 13:12He therefore has an otherworldly knowledge that comes from being
- 13:18connected to God and he therefore can apply to this
- 13:22world. If the rabbi doesn't learn, he
- 13:24doesn't have that capability and it's not worth his advice.
- 13:26But if he does, learn what you hope the rabbi does do and they
- 13:29have that capability. Now the ability gives the
- 13:31advice. And the same thing is true with
- 13:32yourself. The way you can become a we all
- 13:35can become a finer person is if we have Torah inside of us.
- 13:39Because we are travelling these two worlds, we are connecting
- 13:44otherworldly elements to a very worldly existence.
- 13:47If you wonder how Jewish people today, can it be so fine, so
- 13:53refined, so beautiful, when the world has gotten so crazy and
- 13:57chaotic, OK, the answer is very simply is, oh, it's that's the
- 14:02only answer. Which means the Torah, which is
- 14:05something that's godly, who travels through time?
- 14:07God does, who never changes. God doesn't change, is able to
- 14:11create now a way, a matter that we don't change, we don't become
- 14:15moving with the times in the wrong way.
- 14:17We don't get damaged negatively by the influences because we
- 14:20have the capability to be connected and linked to
- 14:23something that's other world. So Shriniyat says is a day that
- 14:28we celebrate our love and our connection to Hashem.
- 14:32The manner with which we take something that's intangible, the
- 14:36manner would you take something that's otherworldly and we make
- 14:38it worldly, is by taking the one item that links and bridges the
- 14:422 worlds. And that is out with Torah.
- 14:45And the Torah is something that we learn.
- 14:48It makes us whole, it makes us complete.
- 14:51It makes U.S. special. It makes us refined, It makes us
- 14:54wiser. It gives us better ha.
- 14:56It gives us some ha. It gives us charm.
- 14:59It gives us mental health, it gives us beauty in our lives, it
- 15:03gives us purpose, it gives us happiness, All that constant to
- 15:07that. How is that all possible?
- 15:08Because it gives us a peace of God inside of us and it bridges
- 15:13these two worlds. And that's why it makes sense on
- 15:16some khatura on Shimini, I said actually to to apply the
- 15:21Holocaust some khatura because you're celebrating your
- 15:24connection to God through the the bridge, which is your
- 15:29connection to God. And that's our tarah, because
- 15:31our Tarah travels these two worlds Mashem down to us.
- 15:35Stop this.
