- 0:00Hello, good morning. Welcome. I am
- 0:02Samuel Trap. This is International
- 0:05Flavor. You are listening to Dam Radio
- 0:09and uh damn glad to have you. I'm damn
- 0:12glad you are indeed listening. Um
- 0:17tell you what, we've got some uh uh
- 0:21you know, I really would like to find
- 0:23out where these girls are. I listen to
- 0:25them all, you know, fairly regularly.
- 0:28Um, but I don't know where they're from.
- 0:31It seems to me that they are whether
- 0:34they they
- 0:36it's a a musical group of girls that uh
- 0:40I don't know 30s maybe um singing in the
- 0:45Dvnia in the villages in the outskirts
- 0:49of either Russia or Ukraine and uh
- 0:53they're called Bellea Zlata and uh you
- 0:58know basically white gold. Uh let's see.
- 1:03Let's find out where they are from
- 1:06though.
- 1:07Uh because
- 1:10uh I that would be interesting to know.
- 1:12They uh well it's a white it's a you
- 1:16know the white rose. They're from Oh,
- 1:18Norilk, Siberia.
- 1:21Wow. Well, they they're always singing
- 1:23songs from u the um the
- 1:29the villages. is I mean it's really
- 1:31they're really good and um now of course
- 1:34it's all in Russian but uh I always
- 1:36wondered because they dress in these
- 1:38folksy sorts of outfits and we might
- 1:40play a song or two from theirs today
- 1:42just because I listen to them um you
- 1:45know rather frequently and uh they have
- 1:48some good stuff and and I like listening
- 1:50to stuff anyway. Um let's see we're
- 1:54gonna get into some news today. It's
- 1:56been
- 1:58King Charles, you know, he's been here
- 2:00and we've got uh US senators talking
- 2:04about uh superpower status depending on
- 2:08Ukrainian aid.
- 2:12This this is entertaining. Okay. Uh of
- 2:15course, leave it to the genius that is
- 2:18Mitch McConnell.
- 2:20Oh my god. This is the guy that wrote
- 2:22the book talking about how he got into
- 2:24politics selling pizzas to his uh you
- 2:28know buying votes basically in uh in uh
- 2:32uh Republican Mitch McConnell blasting
- 2:35Donald Trump claiming he has continued
- 2:38Joe Biden's strategy of failing to meet
- 2:41Kiev's needs. Now what the hell does
- 2:45McConnell know about Russia or Ukraine
- 2:47for that matter? I mean, he's never said
- 2:49anything reasonable about this. They
- 2:51don't even have any current pictures of
- 2:53this guy. Where is he these days? The US
- 2:56must expand its support for Ukraine,
- 2:59says he, if it wants to preserve its
- 3:03status as a global superpower.
- 3:06I get it. So, we lose our superpower
- 3:10status
- 3:12if we don't give money to a BS war to a
- 3:18BS leader of frankly now a BS country
- 3:23that uh uh you know they're so corrupt
- 3:26and there if there's anything positive
- 3:29somebody call and argue with me. I'd
- 3:31love to hear the opposing sides of this,
- 3:34you know, without claiming. By the way,
- 3:37you can't claim the BS that we all know
- 3:40is now BS. You can't claim Putin wants
- 3:43to take over the world. Okay? He's like
- 3:46uh uh the the the brain and uh Donald
- 3:51Trump is Pinky. And uh what are we going
- 3:53to do today, brain? What do we do every
- 3:56day, Pinky? We're going to take over the
- 3:59world. Well, Mitch McConnell, you know,
- 4:01would be a much better pinky than the
- 4:04old Trumpster, actually. Um, cuz it
- 4:07implies idiocy.
- 4:10And if you if you believe uh that uh you
- 4:14can't be a superpower without giving
- 4:16money to Ukraine, you got troubles. So,
- 4:19uh, the veteran lawmaker and former
- 4:22Senate majority leader, good glad he's
- 4:25not any anymore, criticized military
- 4:29officials in the administration of the
- 4:31old Trumpster for carrying out the
- 4:34policy of shifting the burden of Ukraine
- 4:36assistance onto European NATO allies. in
- 4:40an op-ed published by the Washington
- 4:43Post yesterday.
- 4:47This is great. Americans, according to
- 4:49him, can't learn from a war if they
- 4:52can't properly observe it. What the hell
- 4:56does that mean? I mean, seriously, we
- 4:58got to go watch it now. We got to be
- 5:01embedded with these guys and watch them
- 5:03lose. This is what we got to do.
- 5:06Nonsense. Uh, we can't learn from a war
- 5:10if we can't observe it. Right. We He's
- 5:13calling for more military trainers to be
- 5:16sent to Ukraine so they can witness the
- 5:19conflict up close. You go, McConnell,
- 5:22why don't you hike your ass over there
- 5:24and go check it out? You want to send
- 5:26people over there for a losing cause?
- 5:28Let's do it. Why? Why? Why are we so
- 5:31hellbent on losing causes in America? I
- 5:36don't get it. Why do we got to take on
- 5:38these uh uh war
- 5:42postures that we can't win?
- 5:47We can't w You can't win in Ukraine
- 5:50against Russia. It's not happening. And
- 5:52uh uh we're not we're not committing.
- 5:55It's not going to happen. Americans
- 5:57don't want to die for Ukrainians. It's
- 6:00no longer Mr. McConnell about democracy.
- 6:05with that fib has been gone long ago.
- 6:10Okay. And certainly with yesterday's
- 6:12approval of another 90 days of martial
- 6:15law till August 2nd in Ukraine, we are
- 6:19far from over with this war. 90 billion
- 6:25dollar and another ask for 19 more from
- 6:29the old Zelion Goblin. Uh the stress is
- 6:34different. Green Goblin. Uh it would be
- 6:37Zillion Goblin and uh so it's good
- 6:40stuff. Maynard, he's calling for more
- 6:43military planners
- 6:46so they can witness the conflict up
- 6:49close and better understand the use of
- 6:51drones in modern warfare. If you don't
- 6:53get it by now,
- 6:55no trip to Ukraine's going to help you.
- 6:59Start putting your money in drones.
- 7:01Drones can hold off the Sixth Fleet.
- 7:04Drones can hold off the uh Gerald Ford,
- 7:08the uh who else is over there? Uh I
- 7:11forget which one. The George Bush is
- 7:12over there. The Abraham Lincoln, isn't
- 7:14it? The three There's three aircraft
- 7:16carriers. And they're being held off by
- 7:18what? Drones.
- 7:20Yeah, they're being held out of the uh
- 7:23Straits of Hormuz by drones, people.
- 7:27Um, so let's go witness the conflict up
- 7:31close and better understand the use of
- 7:32drones in modern warfare. China, no, no,
- 7:35let's throw China in the mix, too. He
- 7:37says, is doubtlessly watching this
- 7:41conflict closely as it refineses its
- 7:44military investments and plans. And what
- 7:46is our 1 and a half trillion dollar
- 7:50doing for this? You know, what about us
- 7:53as we refine our own military
- 7:55investments? Do you get did you get your
- 7:57chunk, Mr. McConnell? We're sure you
- 8:00did. If we're keen on remaining the
- 8:04world's preeminent superpower,
- 8:07we shouldn't let,
- 8:09get this, unelected defense officials
- 8:13determine US leadership and obstruct
- 8:17deepening ties with Ukraine's innovative
- 8:21military and industrial base. You're
- 8:23picking the wrong side, you
- 8:27This is nuts. McConnell singled out the
- 8:30Pentagon under secretary of war for
- 8:33policy, Elbridge KBY, accusing him of
- 8:37withholding congressionally approved
- 8:39assistance for Ukraine and insisting
- 8:41that real Americans back continued
- 8:45support. Listen, I'm a real American and
- 8:49I know that the vast majority of us are
- 8:53tired of these BS wars and these we do
- 8:57not. And we're real Americans. So, are
- 9:00you a real American? Do you even know
- 9:03what a real American is any longer?
- 9:05Somehow, I don't think so. Uh, real
- 9:09Americans do not back continued support
- 9:13for Ukraine. They might have when they
- 9:16were foolishly wandering around in 2022
- 9:18waving Ukrainian flags and knew nothing.
- 9:22But now the majority of the people know
- 9:24the scam that's been perpetrated not
- 9:27only on us but on the rest of the world
- 9:30that Vladimir Putin is not the bad guy.
- 9:34You know, you don't just get to go out
- 9:35and pick a bad guy and that's it.
- 9:38McConnell uh well, let's wait a second.
- 9:42Uh Trump, who ran for a second term,
- 9:44pledging to scale back aid to Ukraine,
- 9:48repeatedly criticized Joe Biden for
- 9:51directing US resources toward a conflict
- 9:54with Russia. McConnell argued that both
- 9:58approaches
- 9:59ultimately fail to give Ukraine what it
- 10:03needs. They just got 90 billion. What
- 10:06more do you need for God's sake? You
- 10:08know what was Russia's budget last year
- 10:11for uh what what is I forget I forget
- 10:15the number so I'm going to look it up.
- 10:16What is Russia's
- 10:20annual military
- 10:24budget? Okay, let's let's do this.
- 10:28Russia's military spending surged due to
- 10:32the Ukraine war with the 2024 budget at
- 10:386 to7% of its GDP or 125 to 149 billion.
- 10:462025
- 10:49expenditures were around 160
- 10:53billion one10enth of what the United
- 10:57States spends. Of course, they spend it
- 11:00far more wisely. Did you hear that?
- 11:02Everybody's switching to uh South Korean
- 11:05arms.
- 11:07All the Europeans, they canceled a bunch
- 11:09of uh of of fighter jet things from the
- 11:12United States. Canada's uh cancelling
- 11:15stuff and also they are running
- 11:18scenarios now with that I I believe
- 11:21what's going to happen is they're going
- 11:23to expand um
- 11:26the EU to turn it into a
- 11:32uh military alliance as well because
- 11:36Russia doesn't object to Ukraine being
- 11:38part of the EU but the EU if if they're
- 11:43they're starting to do all these
- 11:44analysis of uh uh whatever and the the
- 11:48defense pact of the EU is actually
- 11:51stronger than the one of NATO. And so
- 11:54what they're going to do is they're
- 11:56holding all these exercises now without
- 11:59America, without American support. and
- 12:03they're starting to uh hold all these uh
- 12:05there's a EU summit that went on over
- 12:08the weekend with uh the old Green Goblin
- 12:11showing up with his hand out as usual
- 12:14and uh uh wonder if old uh McConnell
- 12:17went to that
- 12:20give Ukraine what it needs. McConnell
- 12:23who has represented Kentucky get this
- 12:26since 1985.
- 12:30This guy's represented Kentucky. I mean,
- 12:34my entire adult life. I joined the Army
- 12:39in 1985
- 12:41and uh I was Well, Holy Schneikes. Yeah,
- 12:45that was uh a good
- 12:48a a a good 40 years ago.
- 12:53Isn't that nuts?
- 12:57Crazy sauce. He has built his reputation
- 13:00as a political operator and mostly
- 13:05fundraiser. He announced his intention
- 13:07to step down. Holy crap. In February
- 13:112024 following a string of public house
- 13:16episodes and now he serves as the on the
- 13:20chair of the Senate Rules Committee.
- 13:22Although he publicly endorsed Trump's
- 13:25re-election bid, reports have suggested
- 13:28that in private he is sharply critical
- 13:30of the old Trumpster and calls him a
- 13:34despicable human being, unfit for
- 13:38office. Well, that's what I think you
- 13:41are and have been for years. That's what
- 13:45I think. And not that I'm a huge uh
- 13:48Trump supporter. I'm not a big
- 13:50detractor, but certainly on the
- 13:52international side, I I am against them
- 13:55all, but uh you know, you can't call
- 13:58Trump a human a despicable human being
- 14:02without looking in the freaking mirror,
- 14:04dude. Um, and according to a biography
- 14:07by journalist Michael Tacket, Russia
- 14:10maintains that any Western aid to
- 14:11Ukraine, all it does is prolong the
- 14:14conflict, but will not alter its
- 14:17outcome. Moscow says that Kiev has a
- 14:20vested interest in rejecting peace talks
- 14:23to keep getting the cash
- 14:26to ensure the continued supply of
- 14:30funding so that corrupt officials all
- 14:34over the planet can benefit from it,
- 14:37embezzle from it, and do all kinds of
- 14:40stuff. Here, get this. Here's another
- 14:43exciting story from another lunacy.
- 14:47Julie Davis. Who's Julie Davis, you
- 14:50might say? She looks like she's about
- 14:5212. Um, so I don't know if that's a good
- 14:56thing or a bad thing, but uh she's uh
- 15:00uh US envoy to Ukraine, right? She's
- 15:04going to leave her post in protest over
- 15:08dwindling aid to Kiev. Acting US
- 15:11ambassador to Ukraine, Julie Davis is
- 15:13going to leave her post over
- 15:15disagreements with Donald Trump
- 15:17regarding his waning support for the
- 15:20country says the Financial Times and
- 15:23cites three people familiar with the
- 15:26matter. State Department confirms
- 15:28Davis's departure but denied that she
- 15:30was leaving because of differences with
- 15:32the president. Ambassador Davis has been
- 15:36a steadfast proponent of the Trump
- 15:38administration's efforts to bring about
- 15:40a durable peace between Russia and
- 15:43Ukraine. Well, Miss Ambassador, what the
- 15:45hell have you done to uh stop this war?
- 15:49Anything? Are you for it? Probably. So,
- 15:53uh state let's see, that was a statement
- 15:56by Tommy Pigot in a uh statement he said
- 16:00on Tuesday. He said that Miss Davis will
- 16:04depart Kiev in June. Davis has served as
- 16:07charged affairs in Ukraine since May
- 16:102025
- 16:11following the resignation of her
- 16:14predecessor former ambassador Bridget
- 16:17Brink who accused Trump of appeasement
- 16:21toward Russia. Unfortunately, the policy
- 16:24since the beginning of the Trump
- 16:26administration has been to put pressure
- 16:28on the victim. Oh, the victim. Ukraine
- 16:33is a is nothing but a victim here,
- 16:37right? So, bomb a bunch of Russians for
- 16:398 years in your own country, kill them
- 16:42all, refuse to allow them to speak their
- 16:45own language. In fact, the EU says they
- 16:48can't come in unless they protect
- 16:50minority rights, including those of
- 16:53ethnic Russians. Yeah. Well, let's
- 16:55figure that going to happen in Ukraine,
- 16:57right?
- 16:59rather than oh we don't want to blame it
- 17:01on the victim Ukraine rather than on the
- 17:04aggressor Russia and Brink wrote this in
- 17:06her opet op-ed in the Detroit Free Press
- 17:10shortly after resigning everybody has to
- 17:12leave and then write there tell all
- 17:14story sell a book make some money wonder
- 17:17if she has a book Trump has angered many
- 17:20in Kiev and the EU by suggesting that
- 17:25Ukraine may they will there's no may
- 17:28about
- 17:29have to make concessions to Russia
- 17:32including potentially see they always
- 17:34throw it in the possible could
- 17:36potentially maybe seeding some territory
- 17:40that's which what Mertz said yesterday
- 17:43or was it was it Saturday I don't
- 17:45remember the story was yesterday he also
- 17:49criticizes does our Trump Zalinski the
- 17:52green goblin who he once branded a
- 17:55dictator which he is and he's corrupt,
- 18:00which he is. Everybody in his team has
- 18:04been corrupt. He has to keep rotating
- 18:07through and finding somebody that can
- 18:09hide it a little better than the last
- 18:12one. The US mediated several rounds of
- 18:15negotiations between Russia and Ukraine
- 18:16through 2025, but they did not result in
- 18:19any breakthroughs. Big surprise if you
- 18:22refuse to give up some territory. Trump
- 18:26also broke with the western diplomatic
- 18:29boycott of Russia by hosting President
- 18:31Putin in Alaska in August of 2025.
- 18:39Isn't that crazy?
- 18:42Um let's let's share about Mr. Mertz who
- 18:45said the exact same thing is as uh uh
- 18:50Ukraine might have to seed some
- 18:52territory now. He's really frightened
- 18:54over what's going on in his country. So,
- 18:56we'll give him a little bit of of pass
- 18:58here. You know, he's normally all hawk.
- 19:01He and Mitch McConnell and Lindsey
- 19:03Graham would fit in the same room
- 19:05together. You know, more more war,
- 19:07please. And uh we got to have more war.
- 19:11We could all let's let's we should get
- 19:13counseling. Let's all go get counseling
- 19:15because there's no war going on that in
- 19:19in that we can, you know, that American
- 19:22troops aren't on the ground in Ukraine.
- 19:25Well, they are, but you know, secretly,
- 19:28but uh we're in a we're we haven't sent
- 19:30enough uh training, you know, training
- 19:33sergeants over there. You know, I was a
- 19:35training NCO and uh I suppose they could
- 19:39send me over there. You know, I'll train
- 19:40them how to surrender,
- 19:43how to give up your territory. Let's end
- 19:47the war. How about that? People are
- 19:50dying who don't want to fight, who get
- 19:52little training, and they get thrown out
- 19:55onto the meat lines and slaughtered.
- 19:57That's it. Russia is having similar
- 20:00problems now. I was reading some um some
- 20:03uh articles that said uh uh
- 20:08uh that they're they're considering
- 20:11um
- 20:14uh more mobilization efforts
- 20:18and uh there were stories one of the one
- 20:20of the guys on um was it Soliv I can't
- 20:23remember where I heard it but uh I was
- 20:25watching the show and they said that
- 20:27some of these some of these uh contracts
- 20:31and you see signs for them when you go
- 20:33to Russia. You see all kinds of signs
- 20:34for them and they say uh you know $8
- 20:39million bonus to uh to sign up. I assume
- 20:42you don't get it till the end. I don't
- 20:44know. But why would you want it until
- 20:46the I mean you'd prefer it at the end I
- 20:49would say. And uh so if you could uh
- 20:55um
- 20:57you know sign up then they're extending
- 21:00contracts is what I hear that they're uh
- 21:04extending these contracts.
- 21:08Oh, this is really cool. Look what I'm
- 21:10watching on on Jr's TV spread up here.
- 21:14Um Mother's Day cookie boxes. Order them
- 21:17now at kixie.com. And it's ke e ks i.
- 21:21But you know what keie means? Cakes.
- 21:23It's cakes in Russian. Cexy. And if
- 21:26they're Russian made, they're going to
- 21:27be good. These cookie boxes. Uh cuz they
- 21:30have some very good treats over there.
- 21:32Tasty. Tasty. We do too, of course. But
- 21:35if you'd like a different sort of
- 21:36flavor, they make them. They make
- 21:38different
- 21:39You'd be surprised how different the
- 21:41food is. Um but it's very very tasty. Uh
- 21:45let's see. But according to Mertz, an
- 21:48eventual peace deal will require
- 21:50concessions by Kiev. No, he said this.
- 21:54Trump has said this. Now he said it.
- 21:57Ukraine may have to accept the
- 21:59territorial realities on the ground.
- 22:02Who's been saying that? Pescov, Lavough,
- 22:05Zaharova, Putin, uh, who else? Midv.
- 22:10Pick a pick a number of them. Trump
- 22:13any reasonable person has been saying it
- 22:15for years cuz they know the realities on
- 22:18the ground. Moscow maintains that for a
- 22:21lasting peace Kiev must pull its
- 22:23soldiers from the regions of Daets,
- 22:25Klugans, Kerone, Zaparisia as well as
- 22:27recognized Russian new territories
- 22:29including Crimea. All the regions
- 22:32overwhelmingly voted to join the Russian
- 22:34Federation of 2014 2022
- 22:37and we know all this stuff. Um, the
- 22:40annual budgets could go back to normal.
- 22:44Annual budgets for military spending
- 22:46don't have to be 1.5 trillion when
- 22:50you're nearly $40 trillion in debt.
- 22:56I think that is sorely
- 22:58depressing.
- 23:00That is what I think. So, um I'm not
- 23:04going to uh uh
- 23:08I'm not going to I don't know what
- 23:13make that an appropriate
- 23:16uh
- 23:18positive thinking because I don't think
- 23:20positive about it at all. This war needs
- 23:23to be over as does the one in Iran.
- 23:26Well, don't get me started on that. I
- 23:27had a uh well, you know what? That's
- 23:30going to be part two of the show. And so
- 23:32I either should play the song I was
- 23:34gonna tell you about. Now I also wanted
- 23:36to tell you about um uh I'm not sure
- 23:40when the interview is going to come up.
- 23:41We're still uh Heammond and Han about
- 23:43the interview, but I'm supposed to be
- 23:45interviewed by a journalist I met in
- 23:48Kazan. And I've had uh three of them
- 23:50contact me in the last several weeks.
- 23:54And uh uh I got one from
- 23:59um this journalist who wants to
- 24:02interview me about my impressions of
- 24:04Russia last year and you know all that
- 24:06other stuff and and talk about what is
- 24:09going you know what is going on and
- 24:11Americans impressions of
- 24:14uh war and stuff like that in Ukraine
- 24:18and Iran. And then I had another girl
- 24:21start um uh swapping
- 24:26uh shorts with me. Um shorts is probably
- 24:30the wrong word. um snippets of of of uh
- 24:34audio and video uh
- 24:38conversation where since you know we're
- 24:418 n hours apart depending on what area
- 24:43of of Russia you're in and depending
- 24:45upon what uh um
- 24:50they don't do um
- 24:53daylight savings time over there and so
- 24:56depending on what time of year it is so
- 24:58it changes around you got to pay
- 24:59attention to that thing you always miss
- 25:01out on what it was. And she she um ever
- 25:05since the Ukraine uh not Ukraine, the
- 25:09Iranian
- 25:10thing started, the call I got uh or the
- 25:14message I got um March 1st, you know,
- 25:17the day after this uh attacks by Israel
- 25:20shortly followed, you know, by the US
- 25:24jumping on board uh and been bombing the
- 25:27crap and decapitating and killing
- 25:29everybody. She she calls and um she says
- 25:33to me that uh you know they
- 25:37uh are killing civilians. How do you
- 25:40feel about that that uh Trump you know
- 25:44what do what do Americans think about
- 25:46this? And I really want to know. She
- 25:49goes do you support this? You know and
- 25:51and I don't never have but but it's
- 25:54still a question that people would want
- 25:56to know if they meet you over there. you
- 25:58know, they think you're a normal person
- 26:00and then uh uh oh, get this. Scientists
- 26:04are calling for a ban on boiling
- 26:06lobsters alive.
- 26:09H
- 26:10and the Justice Department is readopting
- 26:13the firing squad.
- 26:16Now, that I am not uh sure.
- 26:20Uh now, why would they do that? I
- 26:22suppose you'd put a squad because I
- 26:23guess you could all argue that um
- 26:27I didn't shoot I didn't kill him. I had
- 26:30blanks in my in my gun. Maybe they put I
- 26:32don't know how that works. I wonder how
- 26:34the firing squad actually works and uh
- 26:37that you know you want to be uh firing
- 26:41squad is coming back. Well, I don't know
- 26:46about that. Um I I'm not sure. I I I'd
- 26:50have to really review my uh my uh my own
- 26:54thoughts on that matter because um truly
- 26:58I'm not so positive on all of that.
- 27:01Where is We're going to go um take a
- 27:04short break and come back and I want to
- 27:07bring for you. I'm either going to play
- 27:09maybe some or even all of this. Um
- 27:14Vladimir Visotzki is one of my
- 27:16favorites. I went to a uh a
- 27:21u museum of his and he was very very
- 27:24popular in the um
- 27:27in the Soviet era. He died quite some
- 27:30time ago and uh uh but his music was
- 27:34always uh quite popular. Um I listen to
- 27:39a uh uh something called Kjira if you
- 27:42ever get a chance to listen to that.
- 27:44Yesterday I told you about OT ota the
- 27:47orchestra and the royal safari. That was
- 27:50some really good stuff. And here's a
- 27:52pure flamingco that I was listening to
- 27:54also. It kind of randomly goes through
- 27:57and picks some of these uh some of these
- 28:00songs for me and uh uh you know it just
- 28:04plays and I and I pick the ones that I
- 28:07that I think are pretty pretty cool. But
- 28:09I'm going to play for you the group that
- 28:12I was telling you about called BZ Latt.
- 28:16And uh it's u a Russian folk ensemble
- 28:21and uh there was a a lilac and here's
- 28:26what we're going to play. This is a a
- 28:28pretty song regardless if you understand
- 28:30the words or not. And the girls sing it
- 28:33quite well. So here you go.
- 28:37What's interesting to me is that that
- 28:40song is uh actually I mean seriously
- 28:44done live while they're walking down a
- 28:48village road.
- 28:51You hear the wind blowing in the
- 28:52background and whatnot. Somebody's
- 28:54obviously in front of them with a camera
- 28:56and a microphone, you know, on a on a
- 28:59boom or something walking in front of
- 29:01them. But uh it's
- 29:04I mean that's that's four girls, one
- 29:07balikica. That's it. And uh it's uh just
- 29:12amazing that you can come up with a
- 29:15sound like that, you know, of of a nice
- 29:18clean Russian song called uh uh Siren
- 29:23Serene. in uh it's u
- 29:29uh
- 29:31ble which means basically
- 29:34uh it's a little rose but it's white
- 29:37rose. Okay. And uh but there you have
- 29:40it. Um
- 29:43good stuff Maynard. We're going to go to
- 29:47Germany is tumbling once again into
- 29:50crisis. But we want to talk about the
- 29:53Charles the King Charles jokes about
- 29:57burning of the White House. The British
- 29:59monarch commented on Donald Trump's
- 30:02decision to demolish the historic East
- 30:06Wing to construct a ballroom.
- 30:10King Charles III cracked a joke about US
- 30:13President Trump's controversial White
- 30:16House ballroom, comparing it to the
- 30:18burning of the iconic building by the
- 30:21British troops in 1814.
- 30:24He also issued what was widely seen as a
- 30:27subtle rebuke of Trump's criticism of
- 30:29NATO amid friction in the USUK ties. So,
- 30:33I heard that he touched him and uh that
- 30:35was a big no-go that he's not supposed
- 30:38to touch the king and he did. In October
- 30:412025, the Trump administration
- 30:43demolished the historic White House East
- 30:46Wing to build what the president said
- 30:49would be a privately funded grand
- 30:52ballroom. The project, surprise,
- 30:55surprise, met regulatory push back. Oh
- 30:59my god, regulators. They're everywhere.
- 31:02You can't swing a dead cat without
- 31:05hitting a regulator. Uh but the
- 31:08controversy escalated on Monday after
- 31:10Senator Graham, good old Senator Graham,
- 31:14advocated for legislation to fund the
- 31:17construction with more than 300 million
- 31:21in taxpayer money. Of course, Graham is
- 31:25always about spending money as long as
- 31:28he gets his chunk pushed back into his
- 31:32campaign to continue to run for office.
- 31:35Wouldn't that be great? He framed it as
- 31:37a national security imperative. after a
- 31:41gunman tried to storm the White House
- 31:43correspondents dinner at the Hilton
- 31:46Hotel. Speaking at the White House on
- 31:48Tuesday,
- 31:50Charles humorously mentioned the ongoing
- 31:54construction, saying, "I cannot help
- 31:56noticing the readjustments to the East
- 31:59Wing." I'm sorry to say that we British,
- 32:02of course, made our own small attempt at
- 32:05a real estate redevelopment of the White
- 32:07House in 1814. reference to the British
- 32:11troops burning the building during the
- 32:13War of 1812. But how can that be in
- 32:151814? H curious. You know what we're
- 32:19going to do? We're going to try to hear
- 32:21Oh, they're still playing the music on
- 32:22that other thing. Hang on. Why is that
- 32:24happening? We didn't want that. Oh, man.
- 32:29Where is the old king? Let's Let's talk
- 32:31about the king here for just a second.
- 32:33Let's see if his show will come up.
- 32:35Ready? And if I may say so, it is a
- 32:38particular pleasure to be back in this
- 32:40wonderful building, the heart of your
- 32:42democracy.
- 32:44On this occasion, I cannot help noticing
- 32:48the readjustments to the east wing, Mr.
- 32:51President.
- 32:53um following your visit to Windsor
- 32:55Castle last year and I'm sorry to say
- 32:58that we British of course made our own
- 33:01um small attempt at real estate
- 33:03redevelopment of the White House in
- 33:051814.
- 33:12Well, that was entertaining, wasn't it?
- 33:14His actual words. We heard him.
- 33:18Boy, those British always coming over to
- 33:20bomb us, right? or to beat us up. He
- 33:23saved a second lighthearted barb for
- 33:26Trump's habit of reminding Europeans
- 33:29that the US supposedly saved them from
- 33:32speaking German during World War II.
- 33:36Dare I say that if it wasn't for us,
- 33:40you'd be speaking French, Charles added
- 33:44in a nod to Britishes Britain's defeat
- 33:47of France in the Seven Years War, which
- 33:50paved the way for British control over
- 33:53North America.
- 33:55During his visit, King Charles took the
- 33:58opportunity to take a subtle swipe at
- 34:00the old Trumpster over his criticism of
- 34:04NATO, which escalated after the block
- 34:07refused to support the US in its war in
- 34:10Iran. Charles recalled that the only
- 34:13time NATO invoked a mutual defense
- 34:16clause was in the immediate aftermath of
- 34:20September 11, 2001.
- 34:23Despite the cordiality and jokes being
- 34:26taken as intended, the White House
- 34:29posted a video of Trump and Charles
- 34:32captioned, "Two kings,"
- 34:36which comes amid a standoff in
- 34:38historically close US ties. Trump has
- 34:43branded UK Prime Minister Kier Starmer a
- 34:47coward and called him no Churchill after
- 34:50Starmer said the Iran conflict is not
- 34:54our war. It isn't.
- 34:57I don't know how you could be any
- 35:00clearer about that. It's not. It's
- 35:02America's and Israel's mostly Israel's.
- 35:06It's not ours either. It shouldn't be.
- 35:08But here we are. In addition, Washington
- 35:11threatens a big tariff on British goods
- 35:14unless London scraps its digital
- 35:17services tax on US techn technology
- 35:22companies. Isn't that depressing?
- 35:26Isn't that depressing?
- 35:30Recent fragile estabilization of the
- 35:33EU's largest economy, Germany, is being
- 35:37erased in the Iran war.
- 35:40Get this. This is uh this is troubling
- 35:46um for Germany for sure, but for the
- 35:49rest of the world also.
- 35:53Germany's economy is struggling to stay
- 35:56afloat.
- 35:57High energy costs, partly the result of
- 36:00rejecting cheap Russian gas, have
- 36:02rendered much of the country's heavy
- 36:04industry uncompetitive. While its export
- 36:07orientation model has come under
- 36:09pressure from shifting economic trends,
- 36:11not the least being rising competition,
- 36:13Germany no longer sits alone in its
- 36:16niche and it hasn't yet adapted. Hey, um
- 36:19I wanted I I watched u economic analysis
- 36:23last night and uh I'm not sure how I how
- 36:26I feel about this. looking at the um
- 36:32I'm going to have to do a little more
- 36:33research on this, but I believe this my
- 36:37initial reaction is I believe it to be
- 36:39true, but uh I have to have a little uh
- 36:45a little more research on this, but I
- 36:48told you yesterday the economic
- 36:51aftermath of Iran and all that other
- 36:53stuff and um the
- 36:58effects of it's been 8 weeks now and the
- 37:02last of the
- 37:06shipments of
- 37:08oil that went through the Straits of
- 37:11Hormuz are arriving in foreign ports
- 37:14now. Okay. And there's allegedly a bunch
- 37:18of ports going to open up in
- 37:23America that more and more are coming to
- 37:25America. That's really not the case.
- 37:29They're headed north because that isn't
- 37:31sweet crude. That is the sour type of
- 37:34crude that comes from the Middle East
- 37:36and it's different. And the place that
- 37:39you get that one of your alternative
- 37:41places to that, you know what? I should
- 37:43see if I can find that that article for
- 37:46you because I might just play it for
- 37:48you.
- 37:51No, it was like 40. It was like 30
- 37:54minutes. But the but the basics of it
- 37:56was the following.
- 37:59The the and it was I watched it last
- 38:03night after my cuz I had heard a little
- 38:05bit of discussion about look and and a
- 38:09lot of people are talking about it how
- 38:11the
- 38:128 weeks is ending and now the fuel has
- 38:17ended the free fuel that's coming up
- 38:19now. It's fuel that has come through and
- 38:22the Chinese, you know, somebody paid 2
- 38:26million yuan to uh or $2 million worth
- 38:30of yuan to Iran for a shipload in and
- 38:34that's uh off to far east, right? Off to
- 38:38u you know, Asia going over there. Okay.
- 38:42And um
- 38:44now there aren't any more coming out of
- 38:48the Middle East. the Middle East. Uh the
- 38:50UAE yesterday left NATO and NATO OPEC
- 38:54left OPEC and they say they're going to
- 38:57take a land route and and maybe build a
- 39:00pipeline to ship to a port south of
- 39:05the Straits of Hormuz and they're going
- 39:08to leave NATO because they don't want to
- 39:10have or NATO twice OPEC. They don't
- 39:13want to leave OPEC or they're going to
- 39:15leave OPEC so they can produce as much
- 39:17as they like.
- 39:20um of oil and they're going to need to
- 39:24change it around. So, this is having a
- 39:26large effect on other things. Also, the
- 39:30crude that comes out of the Middle East
- 39:32is not the same as the crude that comes
- 39:34out of the US or out of the out of uh
- 39:37Venezuela. It's not the same. And it uh
- 39:41uh the refineries are built to match the
- 39:43source, right?
- 39:45And where do you think the matching
- 39:48source comes from? Canada. So Canada has
- 39:52a matching source and they are
- 39:54developing a port to take everything
- 39:56west and their imports have gone up
- 39:58astronomically or exports I mean to
- 40:01China especially. They're headed west
- 40:04and they're creating a uh uh they
- 40:06they've they have a mountain pipeline
- 40:08that goes up and all the way to the west
- 40:10coast and then they're starting to ship
- 40:12things out of there and they're going to
- 40:14develop their northern ports and uh so
- 40:17they're going to try to get alternatives
- 40:20and uh this has really uh and they're
- 40:24not shipping it out of eastern ports.
- 40:26That's not happening. And they're
- 40:27they're not they're going to end up
- 40:28taking it in one before too long just
- 40:31like everybody else. and uh taking their
- 40:33money in yuan and transferring it over.
- 40:35This is what's going to happen. Might
- 40:38take a little while, but it's going to
- 40:39happen. And uh so Canada is going this
- 40:43way, the effect on the oil markets are
- 40:47going to be astronomical. And one of the
- 40:49key facts that I heard yesterday was
- 40:53that I that I need to verify for sure
- 40:56and uh uh to make sure that it is there.
- 41:00One of the facts that was put out on
- 41:03that program and on one other one was
- 41:07that Donald Trump what he has been
- 41:09saying that we and he keeps saying it
- 41:13this way and this is the way I always
- 41:14hear it too. We are a net energy
- 41:17exporter.
- 41:19We're a net energy exporter. The oil
- 41:22isn't going to hurt us any. We have our
- 41:24own.
- 41:27Well, according to uh several um
- 41:32economists, several other sources, that
- 41:35just isn't true. We are a net energy
- 41:40exporter,
- 41:41but we are not even remotely
- 41:47a net oil exporter. Natural gas, hell
- 41:51yeah. But we don't put natural gas in
- 41:55our cars. they exist. You know those
- 41:58type of cars over here, they do exist,
- 42:00natural gas cars, but
- 42:03uh we don't have very many of them and
- 42:06that's not how our cars are run. So
- 42:10Trump's saying that we are a net energy
- 42:14exporter is true and you know that's
- 42:17that's true, but it includes all forms
- 42:20of energy and not only oil. So, that I
- 42:26think we need to uh uh
- 42:32have a have a look at. And I was
- 42:34thinking about doing it for for uh
- 42:35tomorrow's show, last one of the week.
- 42:38Um and then Civic Outlaws on uh
- 42:42on Friday, and I didn't have time to dig
- 42:45into it last night. I'm working on a
- 42:47couple of projects that uh are of a
- 42:49little more importance to me. But what
- 42:53is happening in all these markets that
- 42:56do not have uh the ability to
- 43:02uh create their own energy, you know, um
- 43:06they're really in bad shape. I mean, and
- 43:09Germany is one of them. And so after
- 43:11consecutive years of of negative growth
- 43:14in 2023 and 24, Germany was able to show
- 43:18a marginal gain in 2025.
- 43:22And this uh tenative emergence from the
- 43:25doldrums uh was a massive increase in
- 43:28government spending aimed at
- 43:31infrastructure and defense. But German
- 43:34exports declined for the third straight
- 43:37year in 2025. a sign that structural
- 43:40weakness
- 43:42uh has certainly
- 43:44uh not gone away. But whatever fragile
- 43:48recovery may have taken root, whether it
- 43:51was governmental or otherwise, it's been
- 43:54wiped out by the war in Iran and
- 43:56subsequent uh economic mayhem that that
- 44:00has produced worldwide. A number of
- 44:02indicators in Germany are flashing at a
- 44:05multi-year low.
- 44:08GFK consumer sentiment. German consumers
- 44:12are suddenly much less positive about
- 44:15where things are headed these days. The
- 44:18consumer climate index fell to -3.3
- 44:26in May, the lowest level in 2 years. The
- 44:30drop from April is the steepest monthly
- 44:34decline since 2022,
- 44:37driven by rising energy prices and
- 44:41massive geopolitical uncertainty.
- 44:44The data is showing that households are
- 44:46growing pessimistic about their
- 44:48finances. Income expectations are
- 44:51plunging and many fear inflation will
- 44:55once again outpace wage growth. While
- 44:58the willingness to spend has weakened
- 45:01dramatically,
- 45:03the propensity to buy dropped to a
- 45:052-year low to uncertainty over rising
- 45:08energy bills. The propensity to save,
- 45:11however, remains elevated, indicating
- 45:13households are prioritizing financial
- 45:16security and are wary of more economic
- 45:20shock to come.
- 45:23Yes,
- 45:26Germany's services sector has
- 45:28practically fallen uh you know
- 45:31in April again as well with the uh
- 45:35plunged to record lows and the business
- 45:39volume with their sharpest drops in
- 45:41three and a half years. So things are
- 45:43not going well. inflation. Nothing
- 45:46strikes fear into consumers more than a
- 45:49decline in their own purchasing power.
- 45:52And that's what's happening. Inflation
- 45:54in Germany. And by the way, this is only
- 45:56in a representative. It's all over
- 45:58Europe. And it's your friend here in
- 46:00America, too. By the way, uh it's not
- 46:03your friend, but inflation in Germany is
- 46:06picking up again. The harmonized index
- 46:08of consumer prices rise in March from
- 46:111.9 to 2.8 8 year onyear. This uptick
- 46:16comes after a period in 2025 when
- 46:19inflation appeal appeared to have
- 46:22subsided and March's uh reading was the
- 46:25highest since 2024.
- 46:28And this is the due in prices of energy
- 46:31which jumped by 7%
- 46:34compared to a year earlier and it's not
- 46:37looking good. human. Um, the German
- 46:39inflation list is way up,
- 46:45way the hell up. The indicator of
- 46:48economic sentiment, a survey of
- 46:50financial market experts that measures
- 46:52expectations for the economy over the
- 46:54next 6 months, tumbled 84 points in
- 46:59March. And the drop is notable as it is
- 47:02relatively stabilized through 2025, but
- 47:05it came right after the war was started
- 47:08up in Iran. Ger Germany has never really
- 47:11recovered from the shock of 2022, which
- 47:14was overlaid on top of an erosion in the
- 47:17country's economic competitiveness. I
- 47:19told you about um 3 4 months ago the um
- 47:23largest Volkswagen plant shutting down
- 47:27and u uh the tenative uh you know
- 47:31federal budget spending increasing by
- 47:336.5% from the previous year helped them
- 47:37stay out of it a little bit. Um
- 47:41looks like the US Supreme Court
- 47:44reinstated the Republican map in Texas.
- 47:48Now, that's news. I want to, you know,
- 47:49I'm going to read on that. I was I did
- 47:52an analysis last Friday in uh on Civic
- 47:55Outlaws of uh the flock cameras, and
- 47:59I've been working on something um quite
- 48:02a bit more of of something that uh
- 48:06these video lottery terminals. And I'm
- 48:09going to talk some on that this week.
- 48:12I'm going go into another uh uh
- 48:16meeting this week with legislators and
- 48:19and company people and stuff like that.
- 48:22I've been working on this for a little
- 48:23bit and I I believe we're going to have
- 48:26that topic coming up on um on Friday for
- 48:30Civic Outlaw should you get the chance
- 48:32to uh to visit that day.
- 48:38Uh, we come on at 7 um a.m. on Fridays.
- 48:44Let's see. We're going to find some We
- 48:50got a couple more songs for you. One of
- 48:53my favorite um people to listen to.
- 48:56Where is this one I was listening to
- 48:58yesterday?
- 49:01Um,
- 49:03this is a little bit
- 49:05and and and I'm only going to play about
- 49:08three three four minutes of it, but it
- 49:10is quite good.
- 49:16And that song appears to go on for
- 49:18another six minutes. That's not going to
- 49:20happen. Um, that's just too long. Sorry.
- 49:24So, we're gonna uh start all over. I've
- 49:27um
- 49:29I've looked at some new uh uh the topics
- 49:34of of what I was uh
- 49:37thinking about last night. I've got So
- 49:40last night I have all of these economic
- 49:43posts. There were a couple of
- 49:44interesting ones that I went through
- 49:46that I wanted to talk about like this
- 49:48Iranian delegation talking badly about
- 49:52um you know a short story version of it
- 49:54would be that the US vice president was
- 49:58called 21 times by Trump and two times
- 50:02by Netanyahu while he was in the while
- 50:05they were in the uh
- 50:07you know alleged mediation or whatever
- 50:10you want to call it the like it's going
- 50:12to happen And I wanted to uh focus on a
- 50:16couple of
- 50:19these are important things, but think
- 50:21about this. The the
- 50:27UK
- 50:28is suddenly incredibly unhealthy.
- 50:34Britain is one of only five nations
- 50:38where health is significantly worsening
- 50:42and ranks second to last in the
- 50:46developed world. Healthy life expectancy
- 50:50in the UK has fallen by about two years
- 50:56to just over 60 for both men and women,
- 51:01making Britain one of only five wealthy
- 51:04nations where people live fewer years in
- 51:07good health. The findings based on data
- 51:10from the Office of National Statistics
- 51:12between 2012 and 2014 and 2022 and 2024
- 51:17show the measure dropped from 62.9 years
- 51:21to 60.7
- 51:22for men and 63.7 to 60.9 for women. Of
- 51:28the 21 richest countries, the UK saw the
- 51:32second steepest decline in healthy life
- 51:35expectancy. Now, that's not life
- 51:37expectancy. It's healthy life
- 51:39expectancy. Life expectancy is the
- 51:42amount you're supposed to live. But if
- 51:44the uh let's say your life expectancy
- 51:47years ago in America was uh 84 for
- 51:50women, 82 for men was was uh was what it
- 51:53was. And uh I'm not sure what it is
- 51:56today, but they're saying that the
- 51:58healthy portion of that would be 64 for
- 52:01wh women women uh at least in 2014 and
- 52:06uh 60 it's 60 now. So they're saying
- 52:10they got years of unhealthy
- 52:13where they're not going to be healthy.
- 52:16And uh so this is this is interesting.
- 52:20Britain has tumbled from 14th to 20th
- 52:23place in these rankings. Denmark,
- 52:26Portugal, and Spain have also seen their
- 52:29HLE numbers plummet. According to this
- 52:32analysis,
- 52:34health inequ health and wealth
- 52:36inequality has become a major indicator
- 52:39for healthy life expectancy with data
- 52:42showing that those in the wealthiest 10%
- 52:46of areas could expect to have around 20
- 52:49more years of good health than those in
- 52:51the poorest. In London's upscale suburb
- 52:55of Richmond, healthy life expectancy for
- 52:58women was 70 years, while in the
- 53:01industrial northern port town of
- 53:03Hardlepool, it's only 51 years.
- 53:07In more than 90% of the areas in the UK,
- 53:11HLE now falls short of the state pension
- 53:14age of 66 and is below 55 in one out of
- 53:1910 areas. London was the only region
- 53:22where the measure went up, where it
- 53:25improved. The Health Foundation has
- 53:27blamed the decline on a combination of
- 53:30poverty, poor housing, obesity,
- 53:35this one's crazy, the lingering effects
- 53:37of coid9.
- 53:41Oh boy. And a surge in mental health
- 53:44illnesses among young people. Andrew
- 53:47Mooney, the think tank's principal
- 53:49analyst, says uh and he warned of a
- 53:52significant economic cost with poor
- 53:55health driving people out of the
- 53:57workforce and locking young people out
- 54:00of education, employment, and training.
- 54:02The Health Foundation has called the
- 54:05findings a watershed moment and urges
- 54:08policymakers to treat public health as
- 54:11an economic priority.
- 54:15Russia's
- 54:16health
- 54:18life expectancy
- 54:21was 60
- 54:243.4 four in 2024 which is above
- 54:28Britain's but but not by much according
- 54:31to Russian health minister
- 54:34uh Mikail Morashak Morashko
- 54:37and uh overall life expectancy
- 54:40is 74 years
- 54:44Kremlin has designated increasing life
- 54:46expectancy to 81 years by 2036
- 54:51as a priority. I wonder what it is in
- 54:54the United States today.
- 54:57What? Because the numbers I gave you are
- 55:0010 years old. The last time I looked was
- 55:03a long time ago.
- 55:06The
- 55:08life
- 55:10expectancy
- 55:12rate in the US,
- 55:16we're going to find out. Oh, it's down.
- 55:21Ah.
- 55:24Well, says it declined.
- 55:27It used to be a lot higher than this. US
- 55:30life expectancy at birth has risen to 79
- 55:36years in 2024 and rebounded to its
- 55:42highest. At age 65, individuals can
- 55:46expect to live an average of 19.7
- 55:50additional years. 18 for men and 20 for
- 55:53women. Wow. Let's see. Where is this
- 55:57chart? I want to see this chart.
- 56:00Boy, they're not making it very easy to
- 56:02see. Are you? Um, let's see. So, in
- 56:062019,
- 56:08it was women were wonder how far this
- 56:12thing goes because I would have swore
- 56:14that uh the numbers we were using I
- 56:17suppose it depends on where you get your
- 56:19numbers. It it says it's uh pre precoid
- 56:24it was 81 for women and se and only 76
- 56:30for men 79 for if you average everyone
- 56:34together at 79 and Russia was saying
- 56:37that it was uh that theirs was uh
- 56:41uh 74 so about 5 years uh lower.
- 56:46Let's see.
- 56:48I wanted to talk a little bit about
- 56:50Bangladesh's Russianbacked nuclear power
- 56:53project. Okay, they have a four,
- 56:58this is huge. This is enormous $ 122.8
- 57:02billion nuclear power facility and it's
- 57:06a 12.8 billion roer facility. Uh
- 57:10Russia's backed um nuclear power project
- 57:14has entered the final stage. Fuel is
- 57:16being loaded into the first unit um on
- 57:19Tuesday. That was yesterday. Dhaka's
- 57:22Ministry of Science and Technology said
- 57:23the next step will be for commercial
- 57:26electricity generation to begin
- 57:29gradually on a trial basis located at
- 57:32160 km from the capital Dhaka. The
- 57:34Rupert facility is Bangladesh's first
- 57:37nuclear power plant and most expensive
- 57:40infrastructure project in South Asian
- 57:43country history. It is backed by Russia.
- 57:47Moscow has financed 11.9 billion of it
- 57:52in state loans for the project and
- 57:54estimated the total cost to be 12.8
- 57:58billion. The project is being
- 58:00implemented by the Bangladesh Atomic
- 58:03Energy Commission and involves the
- 58:05construction of two units each with a
- 58:08capacity of,200
- 58:10megaww.
- 58:12Um it's pretty big deal. Today,
- 58:14Bangladesh has joined the Club of States
- 58:16to use peaceful nuclear energy as a
- 58:19reliable source of sustainable
- 58:22development, said Ross Adam CEO Alexi
- 58:25Lihache
- 58:27said. Might might be Lihachov, but they
- 58:29didn't put a yo in front of it. Um, for
- 58:32Ross Adam, this project is another
- 58:34important step in the development of uh
- 58:36global nuclear power and in
- 58:38strengthening friendly relations with
- 58:40foreign partners. Now remember Russia is
- 58:45also building a six reactor
- 58:48uh nuclear power plant in India and uh
- 58:52this is a very big deal uh what Russia
- 58:56is doing. And I wonder I mean are we
- 58:58building any um let's see uh and
- 59:02remember in Bangladesh is one of the
- 59:05places where they are uh out of fuel
- 59:08basically there you ought to see the
- 59:11lines of uh trying to get fuel and 170
- 59:15million people in Bangladesh with no
- 59:18fuel. they can't get uh gas because of
- 59:22uh Iran being blocked and or or the uh
- 59:26straits of Hormuz.
- 59:28So the project is going to uh meet up to
- 59:3112% of Bangladesh's the whole country's
- 59:34electricity demand and Russian
- 59:37ambassador to Dhaka Alexander Quoen told
- 59:40uh local media this reflects the
- 59:42country's continued commitment to the
- 59:44project. Moso has agreed to the
- 59:46long-term supply of nuclear fuel,
- 59:48technical maintenance, management of
- 59:50spent nuclear fuel rods, fuels,
- 59:53full-scale electricity generation and
- 59:55integration of the national power grid
- 59:58is expected to take about 10 months to a
- 1:00:00year. Bangladesh imports 95%
- 1:00:05of its energy needs.
- 1:00:08Commissioning a single plant is
- 1:00:10estimated to save a billion annually in
- 1:00:14fuel imports.
- 1:00:16And uh so this is crazy. uh Banglad it's
- 1:00:20uh Dhaka expects to slash the country's
- 1:00:23dependence on coal and gas generation uh
- 1:00:27and optimize the national energy balance
- 1:00:30um with the launch of the Roper facility
- 1:00:33and coal and oil f powered plants
- 1:00:36function for 25 to 30 years. Nuclear
- 1:00:39plants last about 60 and that lifespan
- 1:00:44can be extended for another 30 years
- 1:00:46with proper maintenance and
- 1:00:48refurbishment.
- 1:00:50So, you know, you got to take care of
- 1:00:53them. 60 years goes by pretty quick, you
- 1:00:56think? Uh, crazy times the Russians are
- 1:01:01building and what are we doing? Um,
- 1:01:05time is indicated. remember me talking
- 1:01:07earlier in the show about the girl who
- 1:01:09called me about my thoughts on um what's
- 1:01:13going on in Iran and what Americans
- 1:01:15think about it and I said well just
- 1:01:17listen to my show of course she doesn't
- 1:01:19speak English so that kind of makes it a
- 1:01:21little difficult
- 1:01:24then she does listen I think she does
- 1:01:26listen to my uh Sunday she said she does
- 1:01:28that and uh and and gets uh and listens
- 1:01:30to my show but uh Democrats in Congress
- 1:01:34um and maybe we should report this to
- 1:01:36her. Democrats in Congress are
- 1:01:42discussing a lawsuit against President
- 1:01:45Trump over the war in Iran, says Time
- 1:01:48Magazine.
- 1:01:50The debate is intensifying as a 60-day
- 1:01:53legal deadline, which falls on May 1st,
- 1:01:57right around the corner, uh the White
- 1:02:00House has to get congressional
- 1:02:02authorization for the war or halt the
- 1:02:05operation. White House has not indicated
- 1:02:08it plans to seek approval.
- 1:02:11Of course, they're not. Nobody's got to
- 1:02:14look. Um, so, uh, uh, that's not going
- 1:02:19to happen. Um,
- 1:02:21Democrats say the war violates US law
- 1:02:26as Trump initiated it without
- 1:02:27congressional approval and could
- 1:02:29continue operations
- 1:02:31beyond the legal limit. However,
- 1:02:34Democrats are divided over how to
- 1:02:36respond.
- 1:02:39Some, according to time, and Trump on
- 1:02:42screen says, "Don't rush me.
- 1:02:45about Iran. Don't rush me. Yeah. Well,
- 1:02:48uh, okay, we won't. Uh, uh, Congress
- 1:02:51could have a legal case under exploring
- 1:02:53a lawsuit if Trump ignores the deadline.
- 1:02:56Oh, boy. Yeah, lawsuits help, don't
- 1:02:58they? Others argue litigation is
- 1:03:01unlikely to succeed, noting the courts
- 1:03:03have historically dismissed such
- 1:03:05disputes as political questions. Party
- 1:03:09leaders are instead focusing on
- 1:03:11legislative measures. Those efforts have
- 1:03:14repeatedly failed. War powers
- 1:03:16resolutions aimed at limiting
- 1:03:18presidential authority have been blocked
- 1:03:20in both the Senate and the House and
- 1:03:22attempts to restrict funding through
- 1:03:24amendments to spending bills have also
- 1:03:27been rejected. House Democrats
- 1:03:30introduced articles of impeachments
- 1:03:32against against Put Secretary of War
- 1:03:36Pete Hegset over allegation
- 1:03:39of uh unauthorized military actions. But
- 1:03:42the measure did not advance in the
- 1:03:45Republicancontrolled
- 1:03:47chamber. So Hegath didn't get put in
- 1:03:49coach. Boy,
- 1:03:52that's terrible. The conflict,
- 1:03:54meanwhile, remains unresolved despite a
- 1:03:57temporary ceasefire. US has rejected
- 1:03:59Iran's latest proposal and cancelled
- 1:04:02planned talks. While Tran refuses to go
- 1:04:05negotiate under the current conditions,
- 1:04:08a US naval blockade of Iranian ports and
- 1:04:12Iranian restrictions on traffic through
- 1:04:15the Strait of Hormuz remain in place.
- 1:04:18Amid the stalled diplomacy, Trump has
- 1:04:21signaled that he may escalate the
- 1:04:23conflict, posting a militaristic image
- 1:04:26of himself on a social media alongside
- 1:04:31the caption, "No more n Mr. Nice Guy.
- 1:04:35Iran cannot get their act together. They
- 1:04:39don't know how to sign a non-nuclear
- 1:04:41deal. They better get smart soon."
- 1:04:46Trump's approval rating is around 40% in
- 1:04:50recent polls with the Iran war itself
- 1:04:53ranking among the least popular US
- 1:04:56military actions in modern history and
- 1:04:59roughly 6 in 10 Americans including
- 1:05:03yours truly saying it was the wrong
- 1:05:08decision. Now, there are some others on
- 1:05:11this uh uh show that uh or not this
- 1:05:15show, this channel that don't believe
- 1:05:17that. Um wonder what ever happened with
- 1:05:20this, you know, did he uh he's been
- 1:05:22arrested, you know, and he left the
- 1:05:24federal court building. uh this uh
- 1:05:29uh Ganon Ken Van Djk, the guy who
- 1:05:33profited off of Maduro, he bet 33,000 on
- 1:05:38Poly Market where he won 400,000
- 1:05:42and uh because he uh that was a good
- 1:05:45bet.
- 1:05:47We're going to have to figure out how to
- 1:05:48do that. You know, I looked into uh some
- 1:05:51of that. Um,
- 1:05:54where is this? I wonder if I can hear
- 1:05:57this whole story. No, I'm not going to
- 1:05:58play it. An anti-semitic attack in
- 1:06:02London. Kier Starmer has described the
- 1:06:05attack as appalling
- 1:06:08and uh
- 1:06:10two members of the Jewish committee uh
- 1:06:13community have been stabbed in an
- 1:06:15anti-semitic attack in London with the
- 1:06:17asalent now in custody. The incident
- 1:06:21happened in the Golders Green area where
- 1:06:24arsonists set fire to four ambulances
- 1:06:27operated by a Jewish volunteer
- 1:06:29organization a little over a month ago.
- 1:06:33Um, that's anti-Semitic.
- 1:06:36But we also have where did this go? Um,
- 1:06:43I wanted to get to Belgium's. Uh, uh, so
- 1:06:45Israel has been accused
- 1:06:48um, Israel violence against Palestinians
- 1:06:51is echoing the Holocaust, says an
- 1:06:54ex-MSSAD chief.
- 1:06:57This is this is so Netanyahu's taken
- 1:07:00some attacks, friends and neighbors.
- 1:07:02Violence by Israeli settlers against
- 1:07:05Palestinians in the West Bank echoes
- 1:07:07attacks on Jews during the Holocaust and
- 1:07:10poses an existential threat to Israel,
- 1:07:13says former MSAD chief Tamir Partardo.
- 1:07:16Israeli settlers live in communities
- 1:07:19built in the West Bank, a territory
- 1:07:21Israel captured in 1967. Palestinians
- 1:07:25seek as part of a future state.
- 1:07:28Successive Israeli governments have
- 1:07:31backed or tolerated the settlements.
- 1:07:34Partardo spoke on local media on Monday
- 1:07:36while touring Palestinian villages that
- 1:07:39have come under settler attacks. My
- 1:07:41mother was a Holocaust survivor and what
- 1:07:45I saw reminded me of the events that
- 1:07:47happened against Jews in the last
- 1:07:49century. What I saw today made me
- 1:07:53ashamed to be Jewish. His comments came
- 1:07:57amid a surge in settler violence across
- 1:08:01the West Bank with groups carrying out
- 1:08:04repeated raids on Palestinian
- 1:08:06communities, torching homes and
- 1:08:09vehicles, vandalizing property, and
- 1:08:12assaulting residents, according to
- 1:08:15witnesses and human rights
- 1:08:16organizations.
- 1:08:18In the latest incident, two
- 1:08:20Palestinians, including a 14-year-old
- 1:08:23school boy, were killed last week after
- 1:08:27a gunman opened fire near a school.
- 1:08:30Attacks occur on a near daily basis and
- 1:08:33intensify during the USIsraeli war in
- 1:08:36Iran between February 28 and April 8.
- 1:08:40Yeshin recorded 378
- 1:08:44incidents in that period. Eight
- 1:08:48Palestinians were killed and 200 were
- 1:08:51injured. Partardo said the settlers were
- 1:08:54behind the attacks and the Israeli
- 1:08:57government's failure to stop them were
- 1:09:00creating the condition uh for a future
- 1:09:02October 7st style assault from the West
- 1:09:05Bank referring to Hamas attack on
- 1:09:08southern Israel that killed about 1,200
- 1:09:10people and saw 250 taken hostage. Israel
- 1:09:14launched a military camp in Gaza in
- 1:09:16response.
- 1:09:18More than 72,000
- 1:09:20Palestinians were killed and 172,000
- 1:09:25injured in Israeli air strikes and
- 1:09:27ground offensive. The former MSAD chief
- 1:09:30warned that the violence unfolding in
- 1:09:32the West Bank will lead to similar
- 1:09:34event, albeit in a different and
- 1:09:37potentially more severe form given the
- 1:09:39region's complexity. adding that Israel
- 1:09:42is sewing the seeds for just such an
- 1:09:46outcome.
- 1:09:48That's really frightening and I don't
- 1:09:50think we should support that stuff. I I
- 1:09:53don't believe it. A similar topic says
- 1:09:56that u Israel is weaponizing water in
- 1:10:01Gaza according to a medical charity. Um,
- 1:10:05Israel is using access to water as a
- 1:10:08weapon and a form of collective
- 1:10:10punishment against Palestinians in Gaza.
- 1:10:13According to a report by International
- 1:10:15Medical Charity Doctors, without
- 1:10:17borders, Israel has rejected the claims.
- 1:10:20Of course, they they don't give a crap,
- 1:10:23you know, let them die. You know, the
- 1:10:25organization said in a report released
- 1:10:28Tuesday that Israel has engineered water
- 1:10:31scarcity in the strip, creating
- 1:10:34conditions incompatible with human
- 1:10:36dignity and survival. Access to water,
- 1:10:38sanitation, and hygiene has been
- 1:10:40severely undermined since the start of
- 1:10:42the Israeli offensive in Gaza. The
- 1:10:45report highlights a sharp rise in water
- 1:10:47shortage related diseases, including
- 1:10:50diarrhea, skin infection, lice, and
- 1:10:52infected wounds. Additionally, the lack
- 1:10:54of clean water and sanitation is
- 1:10:57worsening malnutrition and severely
- 1:10:59affecting mental health. Gaza has no
- 1:11:01natural freshwater source and relies on
- 1:11:04groundwater and seawater, both of which
- 1:11:06require treatment. Much of the
- 1:11:08infrastructure, including desalinization
- 1:11:11plants, bore holes, pipelines, sewer
- 1:11:13systems have been rendered inoperable or
- 1:11:16inaccessible. According to MSF, amid the
- 1:11:20collapse in the public system, NSMSF
- 1:11:23has become the largest non-governmental
- 1:11:26water producing
- 1:11:28and desalinating
- 1:11:31groundwater through mobile units and
- 1:11:32distributing it by truck to affected
- 1:11:35areas. The report notes that multiple
- 1:11:37MSF tax trucks have been attacked by
- 1:11:41Israeli forces. The minimum humanitarian
- 1:11:45threshold is 15 L of water per person
- 1:11:48per day, including 6 L for drinking and
- 1:11:519 liters for domestic use. In Gaza,
- 1:11:54people are receiving this bare survival
- 1:11:58level at best, with many unable to
- 1:12:02access even the minimum safe amount of
- 1:12:06drinking water. Israel's coordinator of
- 1:12:09government activities in the territory
- 1:12:12rejects the report of course in a series
- 1:12:14of posts calling them baseless and
- 1:12:17factually incorrect. They say that
- 1:12:19Israel is facilitating not restricting
- 1:12:22water access and cite the operation of
- 1:12:24four supply lines infrastructure repair
- 1:12:27and provision of fuel and electricity
- 1:12:29for water and they accuse MSF of biased
- 1:12:33reporting.
- 1:12:36Hm.
- 1:12:39On the same or similar topic,
- 1:12:46Naft Napali Bennett and Yer Lapid
- 1:12:50combine their parties ahead of elections
- 1:12:52planned this year. Former Israeli PMs
- 1:12:55are uniting against Netanyahu
- 1:12:59and they formed a unified party to get
- 1:13:02rid of Benjamin Netanyahu.
- 1:13:05So uh uh Bennett let's see 2026 and
- 1:13:11yesid into a single titled together led
- 1:13:14by Bennett which they described as an
- 1:13:17effort to consolidate the opposition and
- 1:13:19improve the chances of the vote which
- 1:13:21will be held low no later than the end
- 1:13:23of October. Bennett told reporters that
- 1:13:26joining forces was the most Zionist and
- 1:13:29patriotic act we have ever done for the
- 1:13:31sake of our country. he said uh adding
- 1:13:34that the era of division is over. We are
- 1:13:37standing here together for the sake of
- 1:13:39our children. The state of Israel must
- 1:13:42change direction
- 1:13:45and uh widely seen as Netanyahu's most
- 1:13:49formidical formidable political rival
- 1:13:53that they have joined forces before
- 1:13:56ending his 12-year tenure after the 2010
- 1:13:59election by forming the short-lived
- 1:14:02government of change.
- 1:14:04Uh that alliance included the Arab party
- 1:14:07Ram led by Mansour Abbas making it the
- 1:14:10first time party representing Israelis
- 1:14:13Palestinian minority joined a government
- 1:14:16coalition. Netanyahu returned to power
- 1:14:19after winning the November 2022
- 1:14:24election. new partnership will run as a
- 1:14:27unified list without formally merging
- 1:14:29parties and both have said they would
- 1:14:31seek a form of government only with
- 1:14:33Zionist oppositions excluding Arab
- 1:14:37factions. Bennett also said his
- 1:14:39government would advance a universal
- 1:14:41conscription law, halt funding for draft
- 1:14:44evasion, and introduce an 8-year term
- 1:14:47limit for prime minister. Well, that
- 1:14:49would be nice.
- 1:14:51Um
- 1:14:54because Israel is trapped in its own
- 1:14:57security doctrine. You know they can't
- 1:15:00get out of it. Uh they you know the
- 1:15:03promise of lasting security is certainly
- 1:15:06uncertain. We
- 1:15:09should form a portion of the rampart of
- 1:15:12Europe and Asia as an outpost of
- 1:15:15civilization as opposed to barbarism.
- 1:15:18The sanctuaries of Christendom would be
- 1:15:20safeguarded by assigning them to an extr
- 1:15:23territorial status such as is well known
- 1:15:27to the law of nations. Right.
- 1:15:32Palestine is our ever memorable historic
- 1:15:35home. The very name of Palestine would
- 1:15:37attract our people with a force of a
- 1:15:40marvelous potency. Theodore Herzel wrote
- 1:15:43in 1896 in the Jewish state and he
- 1:15:47imagined a place where Jews would
- 1:15:50finally be safe.
- 1:15:53We should form a guard of honor about
- 1:15:56these sanctuaries answering the
- 1:15:58fulfillment of this duty with our
- 1:16:00existence. A Jewish state in Palestine
- 1:16:03would serve as a sanctuary and a
- 1:16:05frontier protecting its people while
- 1:16:07embedding itself with a wider moral and
- 1:16:09political order.
- 1:16:12More than seven decades after Israel's
- 1:16:14first prime minister, David Bengurian
- 1:16:17declared independence, that promise is
- 1:16:20unsettled. Israel exists, thrives,
- 1:16:22endures. It has built powerful
- 1:16:25institutions, an economy, and one of the
- 1:16:27most capable militaries in the world. It
- 1:16:30has in many respects achieved the core
- 1:16:33aim of political sovereignty. Jews are
- 1:16:36no longer dependent upon others for
- 1:16:39survival. Now, I disagree with that. I
- 1:16:43don't think that's correct. They are
- 1:16:46dependent on us or we wouldn't always be
- 1:16:51dragged into their nonsense.
- 1:16:56Um,
- 1:16:59I tell you what, it's been a hell of a
- 1:17:03month, hasn't it?
- 1:17:05US is supposedly in stagflation for the
- 1:17:08first time in decades. According to the
- 1:17:102008 crash, prophet Ray Dalio, his
- 1:17:14warnings are coming amid a consumer
- 1:17:16price hike triggered by Iran war and
- 1:17:18economic downturn. These are frightening
- 1:17:21times indeed. People pay attention. Uh
- 1:17:25be safe out there. We could possibly be
- 1:17:28in a stagflation period. And he warned
- 1:17:31the US Federal Reserve against cutting
- 1:17:33interest rates, arguing that you will
- 1:17:35lose credibility. It's a toxic
- 1:17:37combination of stagnant economy,
- 1:17:42high inflation, and rising unemployment
- 1:17:46gripped the US in the 70s and the early
- 1:17:4980s when an OPEC oil embargo sent energy
- 1:17:53prices spiraling.
- 1:17:55took the US Federal Reserve a series of
- 1:17:57brutal rate hikes, pushing borrowing
- 1:18:00costs above 20% to finally break the
- 1:18:03cycle at the cost of a severe downturn.
- 1:18:07Crazy stuff, friends and neighbor
- 1:18:08neighbors. Pay attention.
