- 0:00Tracy Cartwright: Kiona and welcome to Constellations and all that.
- 0:03Tracy Cartwright: I'm your host, Tracy Cartwright, and together we will be exploring the world of family constellations with facilitators for and clients from around the world, looking at different perspectives and experiences in the work, having a cup of tea, and just chatting with some friends around their experiences in constellations.
- 0:23Tracy Cartwright: We'd love for you to join us.
- 0:25Tracy Cartwright: I hope that you enjoy this series as much as I have loved making it.
- 0:33Tracy Cartwright: Order everyone and welcome to Constellations and all that.
- 0:37Tracy Cartwright: Today I have the pleasure of, um, having a conversation with Medoc Perry from, um, well you are based in the states right now, but, um, and we've just met for the first time in person.
- 0:50Tracy Cartwright: Well in person online, so, but we've been interacting for a little while and fellow kiwi, so I would love for you to introduce yourself Absolutely.
- 0:58Tracy Cartwright: And share with the listeners and the views a little bit about who you are and, and
- 1:02Medoc Perry: yeah,
- 1:02Tracy Cartwright: where you are.
- 1:04Medoc Perry: Thank you.
- 1:05Medoc Perry: Yeah, so I'm, um, my name is Och Perry, as you said.
- 1:08Medoc Perry: I am, uh, originally from Targa in New Zealand.
- 1:10Medoc Perry: I grew up just outside Targa, the Ranges right by the river, so, oh yeah.
- 1:16Medoc Perry: It was, even just thinking about it touches my heart.
- 1:19Medoc Perry: It was a beautiful place to grow up and, uh, very connected to land.
- 1:24Medoc Perry: You know, not far from the Pacific Ocean.
- 1:25Medoc Perry: So that's kind of my, that's my roots in the land.
- 1:29Medoc Perry: And I now live in Arizona, but I just spent, I've lived, I've lived in the States for quite a while.
- 1:34Medoc Perry: It's where my mom's from and um, yeah, I've been living in Seattle and then Woodby Island for the last 12 years.
- 1:40Medoc Perry: And now I'm, I've just recently moved to the desert in Arizona, so I'm in the Sonoran Desert right down south near the Mexican water.
- 1:47Medoc Perry: And then to just share a little bit about my, where I can, my people come from.
- 1:51Medoc Perry: So my mom is American, but before that her people were Scottish and Irish and Swedish and German and um, French.
- 2:00Medoc Perry: So it's kind of a collection there.
- 2:02Medoc Perry: And then, and did I say Irish?
- 2:04Medoc Perry: Anyway, there's a collection of the European set and then my dad was English.
- 2:07Medoc Perry: And I'm not sure how many generations that went back, but um, yeah, I had the good fortune to live in New Zealand.
- 2:14Medoc Perry: As a growing up and I have four, uh, three siblings and me living ones.
- 2:18Medoc Perry: Anyway, yeah, I'm, I feel very grateful to have found my way to Constellations, which is, you know, mainly what we're gonna talk about.
- 2:25Medoc Perry: But I also have been doing healing work for about 20 years.
- 2:29Medoc Perry: So I first, um, discovered Reiki in England, um, you know, 20 plus years ago.
- 2:34Medoc Perry: And then Body Talk in New Zealand.
- 2:37Medoc Perry: So from a beautiful, um, Kiwi woman called Tracy Livingston.
- 2:41Medoc Perry: Paul, she was one of my wonderful teachers.
- 2:43Medoc Perry: And then here in the states I discovered, um, constellations with a woman called Bri Star.
- 2:49Medoc Perry: And um, she was one of the early constellations here in America.
- 2:53Medoc Perry: And actually.
- 2:54Medoc Perry: She is a wonderful, wonderful practitioner and I think really is not as renowned as she she could be.
- 2:59Medoc Perry: She's just really very talented and her teacher was so, he used to come from Germany and come do circles with her here in the United States in the early days.
- 3:10Medoc Perry: So yeah, it's kind of my tradition there.
- 3:13Medoc Perry: In terms of me as a person, I'm pretty spiritual, you know?
- 3:16Medoc Perry: I'm really connected to land very much and getting deeper.
- 3:20Medoc Perry: I think being in here in the desert, I'm living on very, um, feels like very sacred land and very powerful land.
- 3:27Medoc Perry: So I kind of feel like I've been called here in a wave.
- 3:29Medoc Perry: I don't quite know yet what, but I've just got this amazing view of a mountain.
- 3:33Medoc Perry: And just before our call, of course the road runner ran past the window, which is um, good luck.
- 3:38Medoc Perry: So there's a lot of things twice.
- 3:39Medoc Perry: Keep an eye on.
- 3:40Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 3:40Medoc Perry: Twice.
- 3:42Medoc Perry: So twice the good fortune.
- 3:43Medoc Perry: Good luck for us.
- 3:44Medoc Perry: So.
- 3:45Medoc Perry: So here I see, I hear coyotes in the nighttime and I, uh, there's mountain lions in Jaguar, even some, like sometimes Jaguars in the hills here.
- 3:53Medoc Perry: So, yeah.
- 3:54Medoc Perry: So I just also wanna honor the people who came before me, you know, on this land, because I feel like they're really still present here.
- 4:01Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 4:01Medoc Perry: So I feel grateful to be here connected with this land medicine, and maybe that's part of the, the next stage of where I'm going.
- 4:07Medoc Perry: Uh, so yeah, that's kind of a little bit about me, maybe.
- 4:11Tracy Cartwright: Fantastic.
- 4:11Tracy Cartwright: So what, what Drew, what drew you to Arizona?
- 4:14Medoc Perry: Yeah, it's a good question, isn't it?
- 4:16Medoc Perry: Uh, living in the, in the Pacific Northwest in Seattle, it's um.
- 4:20Medoc Perry: It's beautiful land, a land of big trees, and, um, a lot of, again, a lot of nature.
- 4:25Medoc Perry: Very different nature though, but the winters can be quite dark and cloudy and, um, after 12 years or so in that climate, I think I, I felt like a change.
- 4:35Medoc Perry: I really wanted more sunshine.
- 4:37Medoc Perry: Yeah, the winters can be hard there.
- 4:39Medoc Perry: I find It gets, it can get dark and, you know, people, people can get, you know, a little introverted and so yeah.
- 4:46Medoc Perry: Coming here, I think there was a, the Pacific, uh.
- 4:50Medoc Perry: Southwest just kept popping in conversation with people.
- 4:53Medoc Perry: And then finally, um, a woman I knew who was a Body talk practitioner lives down here, and so she invited me to come and check it out.
- 5:00Medoc Perry: And, um, I've been here ever since.
- 5:02Medoc Perry: And I, it's sort of mystic the way we called to places.
- 5:05Medoc Perry: Right.
- 5:05Medoc Perry: But I think for right now, it's a really good place for me to be.
- 5:08Medoc Perry: And I've been, yeah, very welcomed into the local,
- 5:12Tracy Cartwright: so in Arizona, like, excuse my, um,
- 5:15Medoc Perry: yeah.
- 5:16Tracy Cartwright: Non geographical brain here.
- 5:18Tracy Cartwright: But is that, where is it Sedona?
- 5:21Tracy Cartwright: Is it near Sedona?
- 5:22Tracy Cartwright: Sedona
- 5:22Medoc Perry: is at the top of of Arizona.
- 5:25Medoc Perry: Okay.
- 5:25Medoc Perry: But it's not, um, it's not, yeah.
- 5:28Medoc Perry: So I, because that's
- 5:29Tracy Cartwright: really known for its mystical, energetic portals, isn't it?
- 5:33Medoc Perry: Yeah, it is.
- 5:34Medoc Perry: And if we're gonna go a little woo, some people have said that some of those portals have moved to this area, so I don't know what, I don't know what or where, or
- 5:41Tracy Cartwright: we can go a whole lot where if you like.
- 5:43Medoc Perry: Yeah, we could do.
- 5:45Medoc Perry: Um, but also I find there's like, there's big, there's monsoons rolling across the landscape right now and I have this amazing view.
- 5:52Medoc Perry: So I see these big lightning storms and Wow, you know, rain and it's quite, can be quite isolated and very beautiful.
- 5:59Medoc Perry: So I'm quite lucky.
- 6:00Medoc Perry: But yeah, Sedona has a, I have actually haven't been to Sedona, so I can't really compare the two, but I think this is, it's very powerful and America's so diverse.
- 6:09Medoc Perry: I mean.
- 6:10Medoc Perry: You know, well, the USA is so diverse.
- 6:13Medoc Perry: The America is even more diverse, so it's, um, very different.
- 6:17Medoc Perry: But the desert, I've never lived in the desert, so it's a really lovely exploration for me.
- 6:22Medoc Perry: Fantastic and live outside Tucson.
- 6:25Medoc Perry: And you know, it doesn't appear like many people are doing constellations here, if any.
- 6:30Medoc Perry: I keep hearing people say, oh, we need that here, no one's doing it.
- 6:33Medoc Perry: So that could also be, maybe that's a reason I've been called.
- 6:36Medoc Perry: So, um, yeah, I'm already doing some work here in two, but where I live, little Townville artist town and then Tucson's the next big city where I hope to do, set up some regular circles here soon.
- 6:46Medoc Perry: So.
- 6:47Tracy Cartwright: Oh, fantastic.
- 6:49Tracy Cartwright: So when you first met Constellations, what was that?
- 6:53Tracy Cartwright: How?
- 6:53Tracy Cartwright: How did that come about?
- 6:55Medoc Perry: You know, it's funny how things come about, isn't it?
- 6:57Medoc Perry: I was actually working a job, um, in a, this is when I was living in Seattle, the early days in Seattle, and I was working at a, an organic co-op, and the people were rolling through the check stand where I was, you know, and telling, and I was like, oh, you know, I just checked with people like, oh, what are you doing?
- 7:15Medoc Perry: Oh, you're doing some, oh, you're doing a workshop?
- 7:17Medoc Perry: Well, what's the workshop?
- 7:18Medoc Perry: What's that?
- 7:19Medoc Perry: You know, kind of just asking.
- 7:21Medoc Perry: Eventually the teacher rolled through Brigetta and she, yeah, she told me And I, you know, rocked along to a workshop.
- 7:27Medoc Perry: So I think a lot of the modalities that I've learned, 'cause there've been other ones like OMI as well, which is like a body centered and kind of psychotherapy therapy.
- 7:37Medoc Perry: They've all just turned up in my environment in some way, shape or form.
- 7:41Medoc Perry: But you know what, I think with me, my whole life.
- 7:45Medoc Perry: I've been really interested in people's happiness and also families.
- 7:49Medoc Perry: Um, you know, I remember being a kid and, you know, really wanting my whole family to be happy and also growing up as a, you know, in New Zealand as a sort of immigrant family, really right?
- 7:59Medoc Perry: With no extended family.
- 8:01Medoc Perry: Um, I always had this interest in wider families and.
- 8:05Medoc Perry: You know, actually I used to work for a phone counseling line or volunteer for phone counseling line in Wellington called Youth Line, which some people might know about.
- 8:12Medoc Perry: And they do this fun exercise, which they called Family Adams, where people would map their families.
- 8:16Medoc Perry: And so back when I was in my early twenties and volunteering there, I loved that exercise really.
- 8:22Medoc Perry: And so it would be like, you'd have the family mapped out and then people would explain why, you know, why your family's being placed where they are.
- 8:28Medoc Perry: And so when I found Constellations, I was like, oh my gosh, that's kind of, it's different, but it's also got this, you know.
- 8:34Medoc Perry: Sort of flavor of what I loved all those years ago, and when I went to my first Constellation workshops, I was just so moved by this work and the depth of being able to connect with the family field and the changes that I saw, and just how touching it was to see people's families and feel the flavor of them.
- 8:54Medoc Perry: And it's been hugely beneficial to me and my family too.
- 8:58Medoc Perry: You know, actually there's been, I think over the many years that I've done constellations, it's been really beneficial.
- 9:03Medoc Perry: And my clients, I mean, I've been.
- 9:05Medoc Perry: Facilitating Constellations now for about six years.
- 9:08Medoc Perry: I've met Constellations about 10 years ago, and I've just seen so many changes and people I studied with, you know, my family, people that I've worked with and facilitated and just watching those changes just are so gratifying to me, you know?
- 9:24Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 9:25Medoc Perry: So I think, yeah, clearly.
- 9:26Tracy Cartwright: Yeah,
- 9:27Medoc Perry: it's laugh now, you know, you're probably the same.
- 9:30Medoc Perry: Yeah, yeah,
- 9:32Tracy Cartwright: yeah.
- 9:32Tracy Cartwright: Sometimes I find it really easy to describe and other times it's like, um, and obviously sometimes there's the company that I'm in, um, yeah.
- 9:42Tracy Cartwright: As to some, you know, some people are gonna understand my description a whole lot quicker.
- 9:49Tracy Cartwright: How would you describe Constellations if you were meeting someone for the first time?
- 9:54Medoc Perry: Yeah, well, like you say, it sort of depends in the moment who I'm talking to.
- 9:58Medoc Perry: 'cause I'll try to frame it a little bit to them, or maybe I'll just blurt out with something that's really different in the moment, depending on their flavor.
- 10:05Medoc Perry: But I usually say it's a. It's, and it's an experiential process, um, that maps out, um, a system and usually we're working with the family system, but it could be any system, like a piece of land or it could be a, a business or a, um, a group that you belong to.
- 10:24Medoc Perry: And then we look at the underlying dynamics of the family that might be creating a certain pattern.
- 10:30Medoc Perry: And so it's a beautiful way to work with the patterns in our life that we can't seem to change any other way.
- 10:36Medoc Perry: And, you know, there's a, you know, we, we have this belief right in constellations that everything in our life has its roots somewhere in the family field and in our ancestors.
- 10:46Medoc Perry: So when we look at the family field, we are not just looking at the one person, we are looking at everything they're embedded within.
- 10:54Medoc Perry: Um, and all of those patterns.
- 10:56Medoc Perry: And there's certain things that are really important.
- 10:59Medoc Perry: It's really important that everyone belongs.
- 11:02Medoc Perry: It's really important that there's a certain order that feels harmonious to the family.
- 11:07Medoc Perry: So we, we support creating that good order if it's needed.
- 11:11Medoc Perry: And we also support giving back these patterns to the, to the family if we can find the root of them, you know?
- 11:17Medoc Perry: So that's often sort of where I'll start.
- 11:20Medoc Perry: Here in America.
- 11:20Medoc Perry: I also like to say too that we sort of believe that we're individuals.
- 11:24Medoc Perry: You know, there's this really strong flavor of individuality in America and that we are like self-made people.
- 11:30Medoc Perry: Um, and there's very little acknowledgement of who came before us.
- 11:34Medoc Perry: And so, you know, I guess one of my, oh well my teacher the other day actually, I was talking to her and she was saying how she called this the New World 'cause she's from Germany and so she said when growing up in Germany, you know, there is this.
- 11:47Medoc Perry: You know, the, the ancestors are there, the whole community's there.
- 11:51Medoc Perry: People don't move a lot.
- 11:52Medoc Perry: So it's sort of, you grow up embedded in this, this deeper, you know, system.
- 11:58Medoc Perry: Whereas with Americans, you know, when the immigration happened then there was a very, there was a lot of forgetting of who came before.
- 12:06Medoc Perry: And so here people move so quickly, you know, and they.
- 12:11Medoc Perry: They may not remember back past their grandparents.
- 12:14Medoc Perry: And I think maybe that's the same sometimes in New Zealand or Australia, you know, in these countries where people immigrated to
- 12:21Tracy Cartwright: Mm. Where it's been colonized only in the last few hundred years.
- 12:25Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 12:25Medoc Perry: And then that's as far back as we can remember if that, you know, and usually it's much more recent than that, than we actually remember.
- 12:32Medoc Perry: So it's very rarely that I work with someone who's, you know.
- 12:37Medoc Perry: More European that remembers past their grandparents, or maybe they can get to their great grandparents.
- 12:42Medoc Perry: But after that, all the stories are lost, you know?
- 12:45Medoc Perry: But this work enables us to connect with the people that came before us and get a feeling for them, you know?
- 12:50Medoc Perry: And I love it when.
- 12:52Medoc Perry: Constellations when we get that feeling of connectedness.
- 12:56Medoc Perry: So I have this sense now that I have people behind me, you know, that support me, and that there's love that flows down through those people and through these open heart to me, and that holds me in the world, you know?
- 13:07Medoc Perry: And when I see that shift in the constellation, it's so moving, you know?
- 13:12Medoc Perry: Um.
- 13:13Medoc Perry: To see that love come through and that people actually feel a vitality or a connection.
- 13:18Medoc Perry: So I think that's also really important, um, in this and certainly where, you know, where I live maybe, um, in some other countries where there's, you know, so I think Brigetta, my teacher used to say that in Europe when she works a lot, you know, often we, the trauma is something like the World War, you know, 'cause that was such a big trauma in that part of the world.
- 13:38Medoc Perry: Because they were right there living with it.
- 13:40Medoc Perry: Um, but here it often, she often sees, we have to go back to the, to the, you know, that immigration point where there was a huge break the line.
- 13:49Tracy Cartwright: I think a lot of people were potentially trying to was have a new start and maybe forget about the.
- 13:56Tracy Cartwright: The pain and the lack and the starvation and
- 13:59Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 14:00Tracy Cartwright: All that they were coming from.
- 14:01Tracy Cartwright: So they were just like, put that behind.
- 14:03Tracy Cartwright: Don't even think about it.
- 14:04Tracy Cartwright: Moving ahead.
- 14:05Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 14:06Medoc Perry: But
- 14:06Tracy Cartwright: as we know, the ripple effects of that and how that flows down through the generations, through the, through the systems, through the cells,
- 14:15Medoc Perry: and the grief of leaving everyone behind, and especially the women, right.
- 14:18Medoc Perry: Who didn't have a choice.
- 14:19Tracy Cartwright: Oh, my great grandmother.
- 14:21Tracy Cartwright: My mom's grandmother.
- 14:23Tracy Cartwright: She lost five babies and she would go down to the grave, this is in England, and she would go down to the granddad and lie on the graves and cry.
- 14:32Tracy Cartwright: Most of the time she was a midwife as well.
- 14:34Tracy Cartwright: So, you know, it really was wow.
- 14:37Tracy Cartwright: Heartbreaking for her.
- 14:38Tracy Cartwright: So the family decided that the best thing to do would be to immigrate.
- 14:42Medoc Perry: Oh.
- 14:44Tracy Cartwright: And I remember like, because
- 14:45Medoc Perry: you can't actually see the grief or live with the grief or,
- 14:48Tracy Cartwright: yeah, yeah.
- 14:49Tracy Cartwright: Oh my gosh.
- 14:49Medoc Perry: Wow.
- 14:50Tracy Cartwright: Actually, I think there's four babies at that time.
- 14:52Tracy Cartwright: There was one that was lost on the, in the boat over, but that grief carried on through.
- 14:58Tracy Cartwright: It was so embedded in my cells.
- 15:00Tracy Cartwright: I had so much deep grief and, and not the understanding.
- 15:04Tracy Cartwright: I had a lot of stuff of my own, a lot of bits and pieces.
- 15:08Tracy Cartwright: But when I did that piece of work for around that and what showed up with Sarah's grief.
- 15:13Tracy Cartwright: Oh my gosh.
- 15:15Tracy Cartwright: Just the relief because you know, moving countries was never gonna fix that.
- 15:20Tracy Cartwright: It was, yeah.
- 15:21Medoc Perry: Well and it adds to it probably too, right?
- 15:23Medoc Perry: Because not only now have you lost four babies, but you've lost all of the, you know, your community and the people who, all your stories and
- 15:31Tracy Cartwright: Yep.
- 15:32Tracy Cartwright: Your place in the community.
- 15:34Tracy Cartwright: 'cause they had quite a standing in the community and.
- 15:37Tracy Cartwright: I mean, I understand it and I'm very, very grateful because I love New Zealand.
- 15:43Medoc Perry: Um,
- 15:44Tracy Cartwright: it's such a, I've traveled a lot and, uh, just love coming home, coming.
- 15:48Tracy Cartwright: Mm-hmm.
- 15:49Medoc Perry: So,
- 15:50Tracy Cartwright: yeah, our ancestors, hey, what they, what they had to endure for us to be here.
- 15:55Medoc Perry: So much strength.
- 15:56Medoc Perry: And that's the thing too.
- 15:57Medoc Perry: It's not just the, I mean there's so much strength in the ancestors as well, not just the negative patterns that show up too, right?
- 16:03Medoc Perry: It's also the strength that we can connect to, and especially when we start to clear and heal some of those patterns, that strength comes through even more strongly.
- 16:12Medoc Perry: And I think, you know, that's to acknowledge that.
- 16:15Medoc Perry: Constellations are like ceremony.
- 16:17Medoc Perry: I mean, it's really, it's a ceremonial process to connect with the field of information, you know, and to learn that we can all do that work and we can all connect intuitively to this field of information.
- 16:30Medoc Perry: It's actually a huge learning for people.
- 16:32Medoc Perry: I think
- 16:33Tracy Cartwright: it makes sense to me because mm-hmm.
- 16:36Tracy Cartwright: When I first met it, I had had.
- 16:39Tracy Cartwright: All my life I'd been feeling and, and sensing and well, I, you know, I can see spirit and that, and I have been really all my sentient abilities, whatever.
- 16:50Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 16:50Tracy Cartwright: That just my gifts were already heightened as a child.
- 16:54Tracy Cartwright: And so when I met Constellations, I remember sitting in the hot seat and spirit said to me, this is what you've been waiting for.
- 17:00Tracy Cartwright: This is what you're here to do.
- 17:02Tracy Cartwright: And oh, there was an ease in my body.
- 17:05Tracy Cartwright: Mm-hmm.
- 17:05Tracy Cartwright: And it just made sense.
- 17:07Tracy Cartwright: And I thought, you know, obviously I had to learn the psychology side of it, but the, the energetic side of it, the felt experience, um, and it just made so many things in my life make sense.
- 17:20Tracy Cartwright: And also the resources that I gathered from the traumatic things that I had experienced.
- 17:27Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 17:27Tracy Cartwright: And, and looked at then became resources.
- 17:30Tracy Cartwright: So it's like, yeah, this is.
- 17:33Medoc Perry: This is
- 17:34Tracy Cartwright: potent work.
- 17:36Tracy Cartwright: Potent work.
- 17:36Medoc Perry: It, oh my gosh.
- 17:37Medoc Perry: It is so potent.
- 17:38Medoc Perry: It's so moving to me.
- 17:39Medoc Perry: And I love that idea too, that you just spoke about, about how that ease comes into the body, that ease that we, truth is spoken.
- 17:47Medoc Perry: You know, when something comes to light, there is that ease in us, in the field and our family.
- 17:52Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 17:53Medoc Perry: It's such a, that breath
- 17:54Tracy Cartwright: out, hey.
- 17:55Tracy Cartwright: Oh
- 17:56Medoc Perry: yeah.
- 17:57Medoc Perry: It's like, it's like all, like the whole, everyone's been holding something and then all of a sudden it's like, oh, okay, we can all relax.
- 18:04Medoc Perry: And
- 18:04Tracy Cartwright: sometimes I sit in a workshop where everybody can feel it.
- 18:08Tracy Cartwright: The whole room is holding their breath.
- 18:10Tracy Cartwright: I'm like, it's just, and in the movement, there can be a bit of movement in the field.
- 18:14Tracy Cartwright: And then, then there'll be that moment for the.
- 18:18Tracy Cartwright: Person who's representing to have their breath out, and then you look at the client and they're doing the same thing.
- 18:24Medoc Perry: Mm-hmm.
- 18:24Medoc Perry: It's,
- 18:24Tracy Cartwright: yeah.
- 18:25Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 18:25Medoc Perry: Well, and it's, I mean, I was thinking about this because, you know, of course I was thinking what, you know.
- 18:30Medoc Perry: About constellations and what I love and preparation for this.
- 18:33Medoc Perry: And I was thinking about how, you know, constellations is also great training for how to live, right?
- 18:38Medoc Perry: How to make, how to work through those times when everything's like holding.
- 18:42Medoc Perry: And there's kind of that time in the field where it hasn't been revealed yet and everyone's like in anticipation, like something's, you know, something needs to happen here or.
- 18:52Medoc Perry: Or those times when the consolation needs to go slow, you know, or um, when we feel something in our body or we feel a shift or we need to take a movement.
- 19:02Medoc Perry: Like these are all skills for life because we feel the same things in our body in life too, you know?
- 19:09Tracy Cartwright: Absolutely.
- 19:10Tracy Cartwright: Have you got, um, have you got a favorite facilitator or facilitating tourist?
- 19:16Medoc Perry: Yeah, I still think my favorite facilitator is my, my teacher.
- 19:20Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 19:21Medoc Perry: I really love the way she works.
- 19:23Medoc Perry: I think the things I love about her is she's very intuitive.
- 19:26Medoc Perry: She feels the field very deeply.
- 19:28Medoc Perry: She doesn't work in a formulaic way.
- 19:31Medoc Perry: And so that was really good training for us when we were like in circle with her.
- 19:36Medoc Perry: And I spent three, three years in her learning circle and then, you know, other workshops over a couple more years.
- 19:41Medoc Perry: So it was a, it was a deep kind of immersion with her.
- 19:45Medoc Perry: I love that about her.
- 19:45Medoc Perry: She's very honest and straightforward.
- 19:47Medoc Perry: And the other thing I love, I know it's, I know not everyone likes to do this, but she likes to take a constellation till the end so that it feels complete.
- 19:55Medoc Perry: I know some people like to kind of open it and get it to a peak of energy and then leave it, but I actually, there's something that really is supported for me in seeing the constellation.
- 20:05Medoc Perry: Feel complete and people connected and the love flowing and that people can move forward.
- 20:11Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 20:12Medoc Perry: I still have a lot of fondness for her and I guess maybe we all have a little bit of fondness for the first person who taught us, right?
- 20:18Medoc Perry: Mm-hmm.
- 20:18Medoc Perry: Where kinda like that's the way we were introduced to this work.
- 20:23Medoc Perry: And so there's that.
- 20:24Medoc Perry: Um,
- 20:25Tracy Cartwright: interestingly enough.
- 20:27Tracy Cartwright: So that was in Seattle, is that right?
- 20:29Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 20:29Medoc Perry: She's the person, you know, is the person on your intro video.
- 20:32Medoc Perry: She, you have her intro video on your website.
- 20:35Medoc Perry: Um mm-hmm.
- 20:36Medoc Perry: And it was in, in Seattle.
- 20:37Tracy Cartwright: So my, the first person that introduced me to Constellations was also from Seattle.
- 20:42Tracy Cartwright: His name was Mark Johnson.
- 20:44Medoc Perry: Oh yeah, I've heard of him.
- 20:46Medoc Perry: Yeah,
- 20:46Tracy Cartwright: yeah, yeah.
- 20:46Tracy Cartwright: He's no longer with us.
- 20:47Tracy Cartwright: He's down own spirit.
- 20:49Tracy Cartwright: But, um, yeah, and he taught
- 20:51Medoc Perry: some of the people I know in Seattle, in the Constellation community.
- 20:54Medoc Perry: I never worked with him myself.
- 20:55Medoc Perry: Um, and actually I really worked with Brita for several years when I first started.
- 20:59Medoc Perry: So it was only after a few years that I started really looking around and I'm doing some work with Francesca, Nathan Boring right now, just to deepen, you know.
- 21:07Medoc Perry: Because I love nature Cons, the idea of nature constellations.
- 21:10Medoc Perry: Mm-hmm.
- 21:11Medoc Perry: She has a little bit more business constellations, so that's been really nice also to work with her.
- 21:16Tracy Cartwright: Just saying, I am actually talking with Francesca after you this morning.
- 21:20Tracy Cartwright: This morning.
- 21:21Tracy Cartwright: Oh really?
- 21:22Tracy Cartwright: And art a time.
- 21:23Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 21:23Tracy Cartwright: We've been trying to tee one up for quite a while, so.
- 21:26Medoc Perry: Mm-hmm.
- 21:26Medoc Perry: Um,
- 21:27Tracy Cartwright: and it just lined up just like that, so it was perfect.
- 21:29Tracy Cartwright: Oh, well that's funny that you're gonna
- 21:31Medoc Perry: go straight before you can tell her you're just talking with me.
- 21:35Medoc Perry: But anyway, yeah, she, it is been nice and it's, I've been traveling for that, but you know, also there's a place too where, you know, we just have to step into doing the work and being a teacher and facilitator ourselves.
- 21:47Medoc Perry: Right.
- 21:47Medoc Perry: So I started that journey about six years ago, and so, um, yeah, that was, has been an important part of the process for me too.
- 21:53Medoc Perry: I mean, it's nice to feel other people's work, but it's also good to be grounded in my own, in
- 21:58Tracy Cartwright: my Absolutely.
- 21:59Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 22:00Medoc Perry: I wanna say the other thing that I really love about Britta too is that she was very.
- 22:04Medoc Perry: Um, encouraging of us doing our own work.
- 22:07Medoc Perry: So when you do her learning, circle mo, you know, a lot of it is doing our own constellations over and over and being immersed in the work.
- 22:15Medoc Perry: And so by the time, you know, someone finished a year worth of her circle, we'd actually, she calls it lightning, our own backpacks.
- 22:23Medoc Perry: So doing our own work so that when we come to finally facilitate or do more work, there's, you know, we are much clearer in ourselves.
- 22:30Medoc Perry: And I think that's been.
- 22:32Medoc Perry: A real benefit and, and
- 22:33Tracy Cartwright: is that a not a common thing in training?
- 22:35Medoc Perry: Do you know?
- 22:36Medoc Perry: It's actually, I feel, no, it, it's not always a common thing, um, because I
- 22:41Tracy Cartwright: train and that's what I would do too, because it's like you can't.
- 22:43Tracy Cartwright: Mm-hmm.
- 22:44Tracy Cartwright: My viewpoint is that to be the best fac, you know, facilitator and, and to be grounded in yourself, you have to into that.
- 22:52Tracy Cartwright: Exactly.
- 22:54Tracy Cartwright: Look at your blind spots and, um,
- 22:56Medoc Perry: yeah.
- 22:57Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 22:57Tracy Cartwright: I always encourage my students to get out there and, um, go to other facilitators.
- 23:02Tracy Cartwright: But also whenever, when we're working, um, when we're training, we are always doing constellations with each other.
- 23:09Medoc Perry: Mm-hmm.
- 23:10Medoc Perry: And I'm
- 23:10Tracy Cartwright: consolidating and
- 23:12Medoc Perry: yeah, it's
- 23:13Tracy Cartwright: just so important.
- 23:14Tracy Cartwright: Like, I don't know how else you could learn.
- 23:16Tracy Cartwright: I guess there are other ways, but it, for me, that doesn't feel.
- 23:19Tracy Cartwright: Yeah, I hear you.
- 23:20Tracy Cartwright: It feels really important.
- 23:21Tracy Cartwright: Really important.
- 23:22Medoc Perry: It's really important.
- 23:23Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 23:24Medoc Perry: And you know, then I feel like I have this connection to my ancestors and I feel like, you know, there is, I've seen the benefit of the work in my own life.
- 23:31Medoc Perry: Um,
- 23:32Tracy Cartwright: and it's that, you know, you are embodying it and you have that experience of it all too.
- 23:37Tracy Cartwright: Right?
- 23:37Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 23:38Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 23:38Medoc Perry: So I feel, yeah, I feel very grateful.
- 23:40Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 23:41Tracy Cartwright: Wonderful.
- 23:42Tracy Cartwright: Do you have any examples of constellations that you would be comfortable to share that.
- 23:49Medoc Perry: I was thinking about this.
- 23:50Medoc Perry: I mean, there's so many constellations aren't there when we've done this work for a long time and um, you know, a lot of the facilitation I do now, I'll be in the constellation and fully there, present with it, and afterwards I'll like, forget it again.
- 24:02Medoc Perry: So there's sort of that piece of like leaving it behind.
- 24:05Medoc Perry: Um, but there's some moving things, certainly.
- 24:09Medoc Perry: Um.
- 24:10Medoc Perry: One thing with my family is my dad went to boarding school at age seven and um, and his dad, I think same thing.
- 24:19Medoc Perry: And doing a constellation about that was very moving to see my dad get the support that he needed from his parents, because I can't imagine, you know, leaving home at the age of seven.
- 24:29Medoc Perry: So there's this sort of, you know, there's this English, you know, tradition right, of like sending the kids, um.
- 24:36Medoc Perry: To boarding school.
- 24:37Medoc Perry: And yeah, that would really, I could see the effect of that, you know, in his life and in his father's life and in this like stiff upper lip, you know, don't, don't show any emotion and the missing of, of mother, you know, leaving, leaving the parents behind.
- 24:54Medoc Perry: Was your
- 24:55Tracy Cartwright: father alive or is he alive?
- 24:57Medoc Perry: He's not, no, he's not alive anymore.
- 24:59Medoc Perry: He actually passed away before I started this work.
- 25:02Medoc Perry: But you know.
- 25:03Medoc Perry: I feel more connected to him.
- 25:05Medoc Perry: Of course, you know, we do this work and then.
- 25:08Medoc Perry: Um, and, you know, there was always a lot of love, but he also, he, you know, he carried, he definitely carried some stuff and, um, it was beautiful to see that work done and him turn around in this much more open-hearted way, in this much more supported way.
- 25:23Medoc Perry: And his dad died when he was very young too.
- 25:26Medoc Perry: And then, you know, there's other constellations where like, you know, really connecting with, you know, my mother's line and the, the love that could flow through that way.
- 25:36Medoc Perry: Um, and having these, you know, seeing the grandparents who really cared.
- 25:41Medoc Perry: Um, so for me that work's been really, and you know, there's some other things of course that, you know, are more private, so I don't necessarily want to share them.
- 25:48Medoc Perry: But, um, in terms of some of the work I've seen done in other families, you know, I remember this one where I. Or stepped in.
- 25:56Medoc Perry: Actually, it's a role of a slave owner into a constellation.
- 26:01Medoc Perry: And you know, one of those things about constellations is we can also feel these roles that we've never been, right.
- 26:09Medoc Perry: So I got to step into this role of this person who felt all powerful and angry and, you know, and of course it, it was a very powerful constellation because it was, um, a slave owner and then a slave.
- 26:22Medoc Perry: You know, doing, going back to that and then doing the healing to, to, to give that back.
- 26:28Medoc Perry: But, you know, it sticks with me.
- 26:29Medoc Perry: 'cause that's never an experience I'm gonna have in my life.
- 26:31Medoc Perry: I'm not an angry person.
- 26:32Medoc Perry: I'm not, I don't tend to, you know, tend to that kind of hunger for power.
- 26:36Medoc Perry: But yeah, that was, um, very moving.
- 26:39Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 26:40Medoc Perry: And just.
- 26:41Medoc Perry: What's some other ones?
- 26:42Medoc Perry: You know, I always find the missing twin constellations to be very moving.
- 26:47Medoc Perry: You know, seeing someone who's felt like something's missing from their life, their whole life.
- 26:51Medoc Perry: And then seeing, you know, them connecting and in the womb and getting that silence of the womb sound and seeing this, you know, deep reconnection.
- 27:02Medoc Perry: Um.
- 27:03Medoc Perry: I did a constellation workshop here a while ago, and actually the dogs were in the room and I love animals 'cause you know, they'll come in and I've worked with horses, you know, there's a woman in Canada, um, one of my teachers, Lucia Jacobs, who works with, um, horses and dogs, and she does healing with.
- 27:19Medoc Perry: Her kind of all of her sentient beings.
- 27:22Medoc Perry: And I've worked with her horses and you know, the dogs before actually, with them being in the constellation.
- 27:28Medoc Perry: And they do, they respond.
- 27:30Medoc Perry: And this constellation that we've done down here, this older dog who was in the room, pushed her way into a twin constellation.
- 27:37Medoc Perry: I was like, wow.
- 27:38Medoc Perry: It's, you know.
- 27:39Medoc Perry: Maybe triplets, you know, so there was just like this, this moving and she just got really comfortable and just like laid in there, you know, because she knew something was missing.
- 27:48Medoc Perry: She's got that instinct of like, so I love, you know, it's very moving to me, watching the animals respond to the field as well.
- 27:56Medoc Perry: You know, they will, something will happen in the constellation and then the animals will rearrange themselves.
- 28:01Medoc Perry: So they're really great.
- 28:02Tracy Cartwright: Yeah, I see that too.
- 28:03Tracy Cartwright: I've got a little, um, little helper.
- 28:05Tracy Cartwright: Well, I've got two actually, one who's looking at me at the door right now.
- 28:08Tracy Cartwright: He's a little bit annoyed'cause it's raining outside.
- 28:10Tracy Cartwright: He wants to come in.
- 28:11Tracy Cartwright: Um, and he, my cat comes often, comes in and plays, holds his space as a perpetrator.
- 28:18Tracy Cartwright: He's got that, he's got that perpetrator energy about him.
- 28:22Tracy Cartwright: Occasionally if the cat, if the dog's not around, occasionally he is, shows up as a very loving being.
- 28:28Tracy Cartwright: But most of the time he comes in with this.
- 28:31Tracy Cartwright: That's like, okay, there's something,
- 28:34Medoc Perry: is he is, he also got a, has he got a talent for the hidden things?
- 28:37Medoc Perry: Is that like part of what he is doing is,
- 28:39Tracy Cartwright: yeah, the dog probably has more of the talent for the hidden things.
- 28:42Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 28:42Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 28:43Tracy Cartwright: She is very good.
- 28:44Tracy Cartwright: Like she'll come in and she'll, I use these markers on the ground and she'll just stand there and go, oh, what?
- 28:49Tracy Cartwright: She's telling me there's something there.
- 28:51Tracy Cartwright: I like, oh, okay, put a marker down and then she'll happily move away or.
- 28:56Tracy Cartwright: Or she'll just come in like in workshops.
- 28:59Tracy Cartwright: I've had workshops in my home where she comes in and she stands next to the same person each time, you know, she'll come and be like, you say that acknowledgement that there is someone missing on that side or that there's something that is unseen or that wants to be acknowledged.
- 29:15Tracy Cartwright: Yeah, and sometimes it's just like saying, Hey, look at that.
- 29:18Tracy Cartwright: I think feels like Lacey's saying there's something missing here and that can shift the field.
- 29:24Medoc Perry: Oh, and there can be so much energy caught up in these secret places, right when there's been, I've seen constellations with things like child abuse and, you know, things that work that have been kept secret for a long time and then it comes out, you know, or hidden people.
- 29:40Medoc Perry: And we know the power of that in the field and for the, the person who's sitting, you know, the client next to us.
- 29:47Medoc Perry: Um, and there's another one that really sticks in my mind too.
- 29:49Medoc Perry: It was a woman who.
- 29:51Medoc Perry: She had immigrated and she'd come from, um, the, you know, former like Czechoslovakia.
- 29:58Medoc Perry: She couldn't feel at home.
- 30:00Medoc Perry: You know, they'd left us refugees, um, and she couldn't feel at home.
- 30:04Medoc Perry: And when we were doing the constellation, there was some workmen, um, in our apartment building.
- 30:11Medoc Perry: And as the consultation was happening, these workmen started like hammering.
- 30:15Medoc Perry: Like right next door.
- 30:17Medoc Perry: And I'm like, I'm like, oh my God, I'm so sorry.
- 30:19Medoc Perry: There's like all this noise in the background, but you know what?
- 30:23Medoc Perry: It was like bonds.
- 30:24Medoc Perry: It was like bonds going off and it was like the war that they had fled.
- 30:30Medoc Perry: It's like her.
- 30:31Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 30:32Medoc Perry: Her particularly, it was one of, you know, her dad couldn't look back and actually when we worked in the constellation and connected them back, you know, and felt the grief, she said actually her life really changed that she could connect to where she was now and that was, yeah.
- 30:47Medoc Perry: Super moving.
- 30:48Tracy Cartwright: Yeah, that, being aware of that, the greater field, right.
- 30:53Tracy Cartwright: The awareness of what's happening around us and.
- 30:56Tracy Cartwright: Like you say, the noises that go off that sound like bombs or the um, the cats that's sitting at the door waiting to get in the fire engines that go whizzing past or the, the, uh,
- 31:07Medoc Perry: yeah,
- 31:08Tracy Cartwright: the building alarms I've had that had that happen and, you know, and greater field.
- 31:12Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 31:12Tracy Cartwright: And
- 31:12Medoc Perry: somehow feeds into the field and it reminds us that we're all connected.
- 31:16Medoc Perry: There's not the separation.
- 31:18Medoc Perry: That there is this information that's alive around us all the time to tap into, but it's even more alive when we set up the ceremonial process to do the, you know, work and actually tune into it.
- 31:29Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 31:29Medoc Perry: I mean this work is so, so amazing, isn't it?
- 31:32Medoc Perry: Well, do you have something that's really, that always that you always go back to in terms of constellations that really stick in your mind
- 31:40Tracy Cartwright: as in an example of a constellation?
- 31:42Medoc Perry: Yeah, like something that's always like.
- 31:46Medoc Perry: Touchstone.
- 31:47Tracy Cartwright: That's a great question.
- 31:48Tracy Cartwright: Put me on the spot.
- 31:49Tracy Cartwright: I do that to you guys.
- 31:50Tracy Cartwright: Oh, sorry.
- 31:50Medoc Perry: Yeah, you don't have to.
- 31:52Medoc Perry: I mean, you did also already talk about your grandma, so, or great-grandma.
- 31:55Tracy Cartwright: Oh yeah.
- 31:56Tracy Cartwright: Well, I've done quite a few.
- 31:57Tracy Cartwright: I did the one that, um, has been rising up for me.
- 32:01Tracy Cartwright: In fact, this is, I've already spoken about this, this morning with someone, um, very early this morning in the conversation, a, a piece of work I did in 2019 and it, and it, and it was around.
- 32:13Tracy Cartwright: Feminine.
- 32:14Tracy Cartwright: So I was, um, menstruating so heavily that I was, it felt like I was, um, dying.
- 32:20Tracy Cartwright: Like it was just so heavy every time.
- 32:23Tracy Cartwright: And the constellation, I remember the woman laying on the ground and she just kept saying, get closer to the mother, get closer to the mother.
- 32:31Tracy Cartwright: And, and at the time I remember leaving, feeling a little confused a little.
- 32:36Tracy Cartwright: 'cause there was no more information than that.
- 32:40Tracy Cartwright: And um, and really struggling.
- 32:43Tracy Cartwright: But over about period of about three years, there'd be these big nuggets of information that would just drop in.
- 32:51Tracy Cartwright: And I could feel that that thread came back to that constellation.
- 32:54Medoc Perry: Right?
- 32:55Medoc Perry: It's like something that unlocked and then dropped in.
- 32:59Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 32:59Medoc Perry: Over time.
- 33:00Medoc Perry: Do you know, I think that's a good remembrance too, isn't it?
- 33:02Medoc Perry: That actually.
- 33:03Medoc Perry: The ripple from the constellation goes out a long, long way.
- 33:08Medoc Perry: Mm. Because the benefit isn't just immediate.
- 33:10Medoc Perry: It like sets off this whole new trajectory for our life.
- 33:13Medoc Perry: And I, yeah.
- 33:14Medoc Perry: I often have people come back to me a long time later and say, oh my gosh, like these things are still unfolding, like
- 33:21Tracy Cartwright: you said.
- 33:21Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 33:21Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 33:22Tracy Cartwright: I would say that there's probably still things unfolding from that, you know?
- 33:27Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 33:27Medoc Perry: Powerful.
- 33:28Tracy Cartwright: It opens other doors and it allows.
- 33:32Tracy Cartwright: Other layers to be seen, but also, and it's like,
- 33:35Medoc Perry: oh,
- 33:36Tracy Cartwright: and it's, it was really interesting for me, I think, because it, I could feel that direct connection to that constellation, whereas others have just felt at times there's been that immersion and into the field of things and not really remembering and just stuff unfolding.
- 33:56Tracy Cartwright: But that one was really, stayed with me, really stayed.
- 34:01Medoc Perry: It's amazing, isn't it?
- 34:02Medoc Perry: I mean, I'm sort of thinking, I mean there's just so many amazing examples.
- 34:05Medoc Perry: You know, there's examples of like women whose families clearly got persecuted, like witchcraft, kind of, you know, where women kind of had to shut down their power in the family as healers, you know?
- 34:17Medoc Perry: I think that comes up a a lot for women, and I've seen that a few times in constellations.
- 34:23Medoc Perry: You know, here in, in the United States, um, with some of the people who were originally here and some of the, the terrible things that happened and then, um, you know, some of the bigger issues like slavery.
- 34:34Medoc Perry: I mean, there's still healing happening on both sides with that, right?
- 34:37Medoc Perry: So that, yeah, not just the.
- 34:40Medoc Perry: The families who, who had victims in the family, but also the families who did the perpetrating.
- 34:45Medoc Perry: You know, there's, that's still rippling in their families and that can sometimes be a surprise for people when that shows up because these are big issues that are still being healed.
- 34:55Medoc Perry: Absolutely.
- 34:56Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 34:57Medoc Perry: I think it's so courageous when someone actually has, you know, it's like we can only maybe reveal in a constellation what someone's ready for.
- 35:04Medoc Perry: I really try to stick to that principle.
- 35:06Medoc Perry: Like I really, when I come in to observe, I really try to see what's ready to be seen.
- 35:11Medoc Perry: You know, it's not about forcing our way, like into the field, right?
- 35:15Medoc Perry: It's not really gonna respond to that.
- 35:18Medoc Perry: Um, but I think it, I think it's so courageous when someone sees that in their lineage.
- 35:22Medoc Perry: 'cause it's like they're ready to, to allow that to.
- 35:25Medoc Perry: Secret to come, to come out and they're doing the collective healing.
- 35:28Medoc Perry: I mean, we see that, right?
- 35:30Medoc Perry: That
- 35:30Tracy Cartwright: well the ancestors are calling you to come and do the work, right?
- 35:33Medoc Perry: Yeah, totally.
- 35:35Medoc Perry: And, and the, the like collective is calling us to do the work individually too, to, to heal the, the wider wounds.
- 35:42Medoc Perry: Um, yeah.
- 35:44Medoc Perry: So that's, it's always gratifying when that kind of thing shows up.
- 35:47Medoc Perry: And I think for me it's really important too.
- 35:50Medoc Perry: I was thinking about this to really do.
- 35:52Medoc Perry: Somatic healing, like to take time with some of those bigger issues.
- 35:56Medoc Perry: Or like connecting with mother, you know, overcoming that kind of, um, interrupted movement idea, you know, where with the child's being separated from the mother.
- 36:04Medoc Perry: And then here we are again in the constellation, you know, with our mother and the body's trying to, you know, really integrate that.
- 36:12Medoc Perry: I know it's really important to me that we don't hurry that, you know?
- 36:16Tracy Cartwright: Mm. And I think true coming out of the mind.
- 36:19Tracy Cartwright: You know, like,
- 36:20Medoc Perry: yeah.
- 36:20Tracy Cartwright: So many layers in the process, but coming out of the mind, allowing the body to integrate it, like you say, and um, and being in it.
- 36:28Tracy Cartwright: So that leads me into my question that popped in during that when you were sharing that was how do you, as a facilitator, uh, what is your self care after you've run a workshop or you've been Yeah.
- 36:41Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 36:42Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 36:42Medoc Perry: Well, so just, I wanna respond just before I forget, to something you just said right then, which was about coming out of the mind.
- 36:48Medoc Perry: Oh my gosh.
- 36:49Medoc Perry: This work is amazing for teaching us to come out of the mind and be in the heart and like open our hearts again and feel and like practicing that over and over again and constellations and practicing connecting and opening and connecting and opening.
- 37:04Medoc Perry: Oh my God.
- 37:05Medoc Perry: It's, that's where I feel like everyone could benefit, you know, in this modern world where we're kind of in our head.
- 37:11Medoc Perry: So I've gotten a lot personally out of this work about being able to reconnect to my intuition in terms of myself, I think I've done so many constellations now that I feel really grateful that it's easy for me to kind of come into the field and connect and then to leave and leave it behind.
- 37:29Medoc Perry: I don't carry a lot of the stories with me.
- 37:31Medoc Perry: Sometimes they stay, but it's a lot of the time the story just blends back.
- 37:35Medoc Perry: Mm-hmm.
- 37:36Medoc Perry: Into the background.
- 37:37Medoc Perry: So I'm not carrying things for people and I think that's really important.
- 37:41Medoc Perry: Um, you know, I try to do, I mean like maybe practitioners, you know, very simple things like just having a space that feels very nourishing to work in.
- 37:49Medoc Perry: After a call, I'll usually rest, and especially if I'm doing a workshop, like an online workshop, and I'm doing a few hours or a day.
- 37:55Medoc Perry: I really make sure I take the time to like ground that night and just be in my body and maybe put my feet on the earth.
- 38:02Medoc Perry: And sometimes if there's something a little heavier that I take away, of course, things like EEPs and salt bars or you know, using some smudge or going out and intentionally giving it to the land.
- 38:13Medoc Perry: You know that sometimes, oh, for me a huge healing thing is to walk in nature.
- 38:18Medoc Perry: So often when I walk at the moment, I'm trying to walk in the morning.
- 38:22Medoc Perry: It's so hot here right now 'cause it's the middle of the summer.
- 38:25Medoc Perry: It's the desert.
- 38:26Medoc Perry: So I've been going out really, you know, early in the morning and walking in the desert and just, you know, saying hello to the trees and saying hello to the land.
- 38:34Medoc Perry: And that for me, recenters me somehow and, you know, puts me in my body and that's where I wanna work from is my body and.
- 38:42Medoc Perry: I mean, sometimes I'll be, I'll be like, oh, there's my tree friends.
- 38:45Medoc Perry: You know?
- 38:45Medoc Perry: They feel like the community that lives around me.
- 38:48Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 38:49Medoc Perry: So I dunno if that answers your question, but I think it's important that we.
- 38:53Medoc Perry: Then I think also doing, doing my own work, like I make sure that I see practitioners myself.
- 38:58Medoc Perry: You know, I think, I don't know if that's a, a thing that everyone does, but I, I think it's really beneficial for us as practitioners to always be doing our own work with things that come up.
- 39:08Medoc Perry: Um, because I do see that, you know, when there's a flavor of something that's rolling through my clients over and over again, it's kinda like, okay, maybe there's something to be Yeah, yeah.
- 39:18Medoc Perry: You know?
- 39:20Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 39:20Medoc Perry: And, and nourishing and, yeah.
- 39:22Medoc Perry: I'm pretty grounded.
- 39:23Medoc Perry: I think I'm very grateful that I'm, I'm a very quite grounded, you know, nature oriented person.
- 39:29Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 39:30Tracy Cartwright: Because if we, if, if, if we are in a space of thinking, we can hold it all and do it all, and I don't need to see anyone.
- 39:40Tracy Cartwright: Well, it's an illusion.
- 39:42Tracy Cartwright: I think it's an illusion, but also we're, we're not benefiting ourselves.
- 39:47Tracy Cartwright: We're not benefiting our clients or the greater system because we are just merely, um, small beings in this very large system, and we need to take care of ourselves.
- 39:57Tracy Cartwright: All the burnout.
- 39:58Medoc Perry: Yeah, I think that's true.
- 40:00Medoc Perry: And you know, when I was younger in my family, I felt a kind of, I was the oldest child, you know, and I felt the sense of responsibility for everyone.
- 40:07Medoc Perry: It took me a long time to learn my way outta that and to learn, and also not to do that as a practitioner, right?
- 40:15Medoc Perry: With my, you know, with healing clients and any of the modalities that I do that.
- 40:20Medoc Perry: I really feel like now I show up to witness what's there.
- 40:24Medoc Perry: Like I'm not being the healer.
- 40:26Medoc Perry: I'm not being the, you know, trying to force something that happens to forcing something to happen.
- 40:32Medoc Perry: I'm just coming in to witness what's ready to change in the person.
- 40:35Medoc Perry: Like I really recognize that it's the, you know, the client or the other person that I'm working with, their body knows.
- 40:43Medoc Perry: Their system knows what needs to be seen.
- 40:45Medoc Perry: So all I need to be is the best possible observer that I can be.
- 40:49Medoc Perry: And I think,
- 40:49Tracy Cartwright: isn't that so powerful?
- 40:51Medoc Perry: Oh my God, it's so powerful.
- 40:53Medoc Perry: And that's, we are doing our own work to be the clearer and clearer and clearer, um, observer is so, is so important.
- 41:02Medoc Perry: And I, so I, I'm very grateful actually.
- 41:04Medoc Perry: I think I've, I think I'm getting, you know, I think I'm getting better and better at.
- 41:09Medoc Perry: And that somehow enables me to walk away more cleanly, you know, because I'm working with what's ready.
- 41:15Medoc Perry: And that's, you know, body Talk is one of the main healing modalities I work with, and that has a really strong emphasis on priority.
- 41:22Medoc Perry: Like what's the most important thing to shift?
- 41:25Medoc Perry: Mm-hmm.
- 41:26Medoc Perry: First.
- 41:26Medoc Perry: And also, um, to bring about harmony.
- 41:29Medoc Perry: And also just to be the witness that it's always the client's body that's feeling and they, you know, there's something that's ready in them or ready to change.
- 41:37Medoc Perry: I just get to witness it.
- 41:39Medoc Perry: And in that, isn't it magical that we see this, right?
- 41:42Medoc Perry: Somehow in this witnessing of things, change happens so powerful.
- 41:47Tracy Cartwright: Absolutely, and, and you know, I see it and I feel it and have received it in the constellations when.
- 41:54Tracy Cartwright: You're either sitting as a witness to someone else's constellation, which is a huge honor now to, to be able to witness that when someone's being so vulnerable and also systemically in the field, often there's things that are covered up.
- 42:07Tracy Cartwright: So to have it witnessed
- 42:09Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 42:09Tracy Cartwright: Allows it to breathe in the energetic field and to move.
- 42:13Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 42:14Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 42:14Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 42:15Tracy Cartwright: There's so much power in that.
- 42:16Medoc Perry: There's something you just said that really, oh, I know what I was thinking about.
- 42:20Medoc Perry: You know what an honor also to be a representative like.
- 42:23Medoc Perry: I think the more I do the work, and maybe it's also as I become more aware of what's, you know, seeing all the pieces, like how kaleidoscopic appears, you know, that this person is a representative, is like doing their own work while also representing in the Constellation.
- 42:39Medoc Perry: And that the constellation can have all these layers happening at the same time that we don't have to.
- 42:44Medoc Perry: Collapse it to like one storyline, right?
- 42:46Medoc Perry: And then actually we should probably avoid collapsing it to one storyline because it leaves like all this possibility.
- 42:52Medoc Perry: So I just have such a more and more appreciation for how this work enables so much movement to happen at once.
- 43:00Medoc Perry: You know?
- 43:01Medoc Perry: And maybe it's even if we get little different timelines or past lives or, I don't think it's just necessarily this one.
- 43:08Medoc Perry: One thread.
- 43:09Medoc Perry: It's like, Ooh, wow.
- 43:11Medoc Perry: Look at all these.
- 43:11Medoc Perry: Look at all these things.
- 43:12Medoc Perry: Rippling out, you know?
- 43:14Tracy Cartwright: Have you seen?
- 43:16Tracy Cartwright: Yeah, sorry.
- 43:17Medoc Perry: Maybe they don't even need to be said, you know, sometimes they just need to be seen by the facilitator or by a representative.
- 43:23Medoc Perry: So
- 43:25Tracy Cartwright: I was just thinking of timelines.
- 43:26Tracy Cartwright: Have you seen Leslie nips?
- 43:27Medoc Perry: Do you know?
- 43:28Medoc Perry: I've never worked with her.
- 43:29Medoc Perry: I know people who have worked with her.
- 43:31Tracy Cartwright: When I first met her, she did a piece of work around parallel, parallel universes and different timelines and, and stuff like that.
- 43:38Tracy Cartwright: That would be really interesting.
- 43:38Tracy Cartwright: That was fascinating.
- 43:40Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 43:40Tracy Cartwright: In a constellation setting and bringing it back to, you know, but yeah, there's, and,
- 43:47Medoc Perry: and working with different concepts, you know, we don't have to have our judgment up, like people who maybe think that they're, you know, who feel that they're walk-ins or come from another.
- 43:56Medoc Perry: Another place.
- 43:57Medoc Perry: And that there needs to be some healing there.
- 44:00Medoc Perry: You know, maybe people, you know, who've been born in here from other places and times actually that healing can be done in constellations too.
- 44:09Medoc Perry: You know?
- 44:09Medoc Perry: It doesn't just have to be the the physical family.
- 44:12Medoc Perry: Well, that's a system too, isn't
- 44:13Tracy Cartwright: it?
- 44:14Tracy Cartwright: Those are all different systems.
- 44:15Medoc Perry: They're all systems.
- 44:16Medoc Perry: But of course, you know.
- 44:18Medoc Perry: Our family is like such a huge part.
- 44:20Medoc Perry: Might as well start there.
- 44:21Medoc Perry: Sometimes we want to go way off, don't we?
- 44:23Medoc Perry: It's like, I wanna deal with all like weird cool stuff, but actually, you know, the family's like super nourishing when we get that lined up, like gives us the, the vitality and power to deal with everything else.
- 44:37Tracy Cartwright: Yeah, I thought I grew up in a ordinary family.
- 44:42Tracy Cartwright: Because they didn't know any different.
- 44:43Medoc Perry: We don't know any different, we just in that, in that water, like the fish race,
- 44:48Tracy Cartwright: normal quotation makes, um, far from it, but.
- 44:54Medoc Perry: And then we do this work and then we realize, oh, every family's got flavors of things.
- 44:59Medoc Perry: You know?
- 45:00Medoc Perry: Absolutely.
- 45:01Tracy Cartwright: Who doesn't?
- 45:01Tracy Cartwright: It's just
- 45:01Medoc Perry: that we don't know.
- 45:02Medoc Perry: We don't, when we are growing up, like
- 45:04Tracy Cartwright: I think I went through a stage of being a bit shaken up about the fact of all that I was experiencing and how not.
- 45:12Tracy Cartwright: I had a lot of complex PTD put it that way, so it went through the stage and then I came to a point of peace with it, of knowing that.
- 45:21Tracy Cartwright: From that.
- 45:22Tracy Cartwright: From that point, I also have, um, a very broad worldview and I also have a lot of resources and compassion and I've had to learn a whole lot of self-love from that space as well.
- 45:36Medoc Perry: Yes.
- 45:36Medoc Perry: Like that classic kind of preparation for the future, right?
- 45:40Medoc Perry: Like to have that experience gives you so much more compassion and so much more.
- 45:46Medoc Perry: Ability to witness.
- 45:47Medoc Perry: Like I feel like that with my family, you know?
- 45:50Medoc Perry: And even just my life, I've had the opportunity to like interact with so many different kinds of people.
- 45:55Medoc Perry: And my parents were just one way or another.
- 45:57Medoc Perry: You know, they were complex humans that had different sides.
- 46:01Medoc Perry: And you know, that makes me so much more able to like be with people, you know, without judgment, without, yeah.
- 46:08Medoc Perry: And to be with their families.
- 46:09Medoc Perry: And you too.
- 46:10Medoc Perry: I'm sure you are.
- 46:11Medoc Perry: I mean, just, I haven't seen you work, but just listening to you in these podcasts, you know, I'm very touched.
- 46:16Medoc Perry: By the way you talk about things and Yeah.
- 46:19Medoc Perry: Talk about constellations.
- 46:22Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 46:22Tracy Cartwright: Gosh, I'm, well, obviously I'm doing this podcast and I'm doing the work and, uh, I just love it.
- 46:28Tracy Cartwright: I love,
- 46:29Medoc Perry: I know, me too,
- 46:30Tracy Cartwright: so hard to describe, but it's not at the same time,
- 46:35Medoc Perry: and you have to feel it.
- 46:36Medoc Perry: I mean, we, we can talk about constellations like forever, right from our head and try to explain it.
- 46:43Medoc Perry: When someone comes to a Constellation workshop and is in the work, or they come to a practitioner and do the one-on-one work and then they feel it and they feel the change.
- 46:51Medoc Perry: I mean, that's what's so moving.
- 46:54Medoc Perry: I think we have so many ways of encouraging us to go into our head in our modern society that wow, to have constellations to like come back into our body and into our heart.
- 47:04Medoc Perry: And to really feel and to have the honor of feeling other people's families like not to have those experiences, but to kind of experience what that's like.
- 47:13Medoc Perry: It's
- 47:14Tracy Cartwright: ha has there been a representation that you've experienced and that.
- 47:20Tracy Cartwright: Has really made you go, wow.
- 47:22Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 47:22Medoc Perry: Well there was the one I mentioned just before the, the mother role is a big one.
- 47:27Medoc Perry: Often, like when you go from being, well, I'm not a mother, I just should say that.
- 47:30Medoc Perry: It's, that hasn't been my, you know, not, not part of my life in this lifetime.
- 47:35Medoc Perry: Um, but to be in that role of this open hearted mother and like really connect is I think just so moving to me.
- 47:44Medoc Perry: I think to stand also in the back, I've had this moving experience of standing in for like the land, like the ancestral lands, and they all kind of have a different flavor, right?
- 47:52Medoc Perry: Like the Irish lines feel one way and then the German lion feels different.
- 47:57Medoc Perry: And there's something beautiful about like holding all of that and like loving all the descendants and all of the people.
- 48:06Medoc Perry: That's, I find that really moving now.
- 48:08Medoc Perry: I've had the opportunity to, in Francesca's consolation, to stand in the things like, you know, land or animals and then that's very touching.
- 48:16Medoc Perry: 'cause that's like a really different experience.
- 48:18Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 48:19Tracy Cartwright: I do a piece of work, um, around the mountains and the rivers mm-hmm.
- 48:24Tracy Cartwright: And stuff like that.
- 48:25Tracy Cartwright: So people get to represent those.
- 48:27Tracy Cartwright: I was thinking about, I remember, uh, 10 years ago maybe.
- 48:31Tracy Cartwright: Representing in the Constellation and I was representing a, the British, I felt my belly get really big.
- 48:39Tracy Cartwright: I felt like a, an 50-year-old man with gout and Right.
- 48:48Tracy Cartwright: And the arrogance and all of that in it.
- 48:50Tracy Cartwright: And I was like, wow, this is like.
- 48:55Tracy Cartwright: It could be that perspective of
- 48:57Medoc Perry: yes,
- 48:58Tracy Cartwright: in, in such a, a representation and how righteous I felt in that moment.
- 49:05Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 49:05Tracy Cartwright: I knew, you know, like it was like, wow, and this, this is going back to.
- 49:11Tracy Cartwright: The time when in para Taranaki where the, um, you know, the parasite was raided and all of that.
- 49:19Tracy Cartwright: So there was, and it was like the British
- 49:22Medoc Perry: and you were, you were the side of the British, like that kind, um, side of the British.
- 49:25Medoc Perry: Yep.
- 49:25Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 49:26Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 49:26Tracy Cartwright: And there is
- 49:27Medoc Perry: this closed hearted like, ooh thing, you know, I wonder how much those boarding schools contributed to that.
- 49:34Tracy Cartwright: It was just a righteous, you know, and so having that experience, and then I've done, I've gone from that to, um, just recently I was, I represented a beautiful Perr, so, um, yeah.
- 49:47Tracy Cartwright: Maori elder.
- 49:48Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 49:48Tracy Cartwright: Female Mary Elder.
- 49:50Tracy Cartwright: Just the softness and the love and the, the feeling connected to my grandchildren.
- 49:57Tracy Cartwright: My, and just, but also there was a fire in me that was like standing.
- 50:02Tracy Cartwright: Mm-hmm.
- 50:03Tracy Cartwright: You know, and initiating them to stand up for their rights.
- 50:05Tracy Cartwright: So that
- 50:06Medoc Perry: female strength
- 50:07Tracy Cartwright: Absolutely.
- 50:08Tracy Cartwright: And, and probably.
- 50:10Tracy Cartwright: I have got English stock in me as well, English blood, so as, as well as Maori blood, as well as, you know, like lots of others.
- 50:17Tracy Cartwright: But maybe there's a touch of my ancestors coming through in all of that as well.
- 50:22Medoc Perry: Yes.
- 50:22Medoc Perry: Well I think that's it, isn't it?
- 50:24Medoc Perry: Like we do, we heal while we're in those roles.
- 50:26Medoc Perry: If there's anything that's resonating like a homeopathic medicine, it'll shift that in us.
- 50:32Medoc Perry: So beautiful.
- 50:32Medoc Perry: And there's no reason.
- 50:33Medoc Perry: No, but there's not as much resistance often in those roles.
- 50:36Medoc Perry: Is there like.
- 50:37Medoc Perry: To having that change happen.
- 50:39Medoc Perry: 'cause we're not so attached to it.
- 50:41Medoc Perry: So it's sort of like, yeah, and I love those transition roles.
- 50:44Medoc Perry: You know, when we go from like closed heart to open heart from like a, a, a man who just can't feel, you know, as a father to like, oh wow.
- 50:53Medoc Perry: Oh my gosh, I can feel my kids, you know, I can, um, move from like a violent, angry dad to like a open-hearted connected dad.
- 51:03Medoc Perry: So, you know, it's gosh, so beautiful.
- 51:06Medoc Perry: And the other one thing I love too is to feel the, it's like before immigration and before trauma.
- 51:12Medoc Perry: It often happens when I'm working that we get back to someone who's connected to the land, who's connected to their like tribe and people in the village.
- 51:22Medoc Perry: And to feel that sense of connectedness and that sense of place and being, you know, who they really are.
- 51:29Medoc Perry: I love that.
- 51:30Medoc Perry: I love that.
- 51:32Tracy Cartwright: Reminding us that it's not just the trauma that's in ourselves too, right?
- 51:36Tracy Cartwright: Yes.
- 51:36Tracy Cartwright: There is the healing, there is the, the groundedness, the connection to, mm-hmm.
- 51:41Tracy Cartwright: And the beauty.
- 51:42Tracy Cartwright: The beauty of it all.
- 51:43Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 51:44Medoc Perry: And you know, I've done some constellations with people from like South America who go know, there's a real clear connection back to a tribal route and a tribal village, and I think, wow.
- 51:54Medoc Perry: You know, when the constellation's finished, I often wonder like, what happened then to that person?
- 51:59Medoc Perry: Does that reconnection show up in their life somehow in a tangible way?
- 52:03Medoc Perry: Because we do see tangible changes, don't we, from this work?
- 52:07Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 52:07Medoc Perry: There's real flow.
- 52:08Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 52:09Medoc Perry: So life, it's so life changing.
- 52:10Medoc Perry: Aren't we lucky?
- 52:11Medoc Perry: Aren't we lucky to do this work?
- 52:13Tracy Cartwright: Be reminded.
- 52:14Tracy Cartwright: I like to, I know that, um, Bert Hallinger was inspired to bring through this through, but I really feel like it's ancient work comes much, much before that.
- 52:25Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 52:25Tracy Cartwright: Our people love the fires.
- 52:27Tracy Cartwright: All come from the people of the fire originally.
- 52:29Tracy Cartwright: And I think that what Bert has brought through has been a way of us remembering
- 52:37Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 52:38Medoc Perry: In a
- 52:38Tracy Cartwright: modern context.
- 52:39Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 52:39Medoc Perry: I'm getting goosebumps while you, while you say that.
- 52:40Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 52:42Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 52:42Medoc Perry: You know, and it is because the field of information, you know, the field is always here.
- 52:47Medoc Perry: It's just another way to access it.
- 52:49Medoc Perry: Right.
- 52:49Medoc Perry: So maybe we had a little bit of a different way to do it in the past, but all of that information's available.
- 52:55Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 52:55Medoc Perry: I like this.
- 52:55Medoc Perry: You know, I also like this because it doesn't take a substance or it doesn't take a, like a, um.
- 53:01Medoc Perry: Having to belong to some, you know, religion or some kind of thought, you know, under dogma or something, you know, everyone can do this work.
- 53:11Medoc Perry: Um, yeah, because it, it's so simple and so.
- 53:15Medoc Perry: Non dogmatic.
- 53:16Medoc Perry: It's, it's beautiful and that it's so experiential.
- 53:18Medoc Perry: You don't know what's gonna happen until you open the constellation.
- 53:22Medoc Perry: It's like a discovery.
- 53:23Medoc Perry: And sometimes I talk about it, like I've used this analogy where you're kind of like brushing sand off hieroglyphics.
- 53:29Medoc Perry: You know, the hieroglyphics are already there under the sand, but it's like we kinda brush it off till we can see what's there and what's been hidden for so long that we can.
- 53:40Tracy Cartwright: I love that.
- 53:41Tracy Cartwright: That's a great analogy.
- 53:42Tracy Cartwright: I
- 53:42Medoc Perry: know it's a nice one, isn't it?
- 53:43Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 53:44Medoc Perry: Because it is, it's, it's a, it's a, it's like revealing what's already there.
- 53:49Medoc Perry: So yeah, I think maybe that's part
- 53:52Tracy Cartwright: of that.
- 53:52Tracy Cartwright: Awesome.
- 53:52Tracy Cartwright: Wow.
- 53:52Tracy Cartwright: We've just been chatting away here for, what, over an hour already?
- 53:57Tracy Cartwright: It's just feels like we're only just touching the surface.
- 53:59Tracy Cartwright: We
- 53:59Medoc Perry: can probably, yeah, we could probably keep, I mean, there's so many things, but it's, yeah, it's,
- 54:04Tracy Cartwright: well, I'd love, um, for you to share with the listeners how they can get in touch with you if they feel called to come and work with you.
- 54:12Medoc Perry: Yeah, well, it'd be lovely.
- 54:13Medoc Perry: Um, well, I should probably say I do, you know, I work in a few different ways.
- 54:17Medoc Perry: I, I do do heal, you know, healing work and do healing sessions with people, and so I do work one-on-one in that, and I also do group sessions online, so a couple times a month, which is a really lovely way.
- 54:27Medoc Perry: I think right now we're getting such a consciousness, changing consciousness on the planet.
- 54:31Medoc Perry: Mm-hmm.
- 54:32Medoc Perry: You know, some people, it's a, it's really challenging to grapple with that.
- 54:35Medoc Perry: So I think continuing to get healing is really important.
- 54:39Medoc Perry: So I help, you know, hold that space for that.
- 54:41Medoc Perry: And then constellations, I do at the moment.
- 54:44Medoc Perry: I mean, we are always morphing and changing, right?
- 54:46Medoc Perry: Who knows when someone will find this podcast, but at the moment, I work one-on-one online and then I do group sessions once a month online as well.
- 54:55Medoc Perry: And then, you know, setting up in-person workshops here.
- 54:58Medoc Perry: So probably the easiest way to find me is my website, which you'll probably post.
- 55:03Medoc Perry: Mm-hmm.
- 55:03Medoc Perry: So it's star like Starbird Healing Arts, and it's so star like in the Sky Bird and, uh, healing arts.com.
- 55:11Medoc Perry: So that's, that's probably the easiest way.
- 55:14Medoc Perry: And uh, yeah, it's really lovely that this work is so accessible right from around the world and we can work with a range of different practitioners that we all have our different flavors, so.
- 55:24Medoc Perry: Hmm.
- 55:25Tracy Cartwright: And we feel drawn to some and others we just prefer to witness.
- 55:30Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 55:31Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 55:33Medoc Perry: It's nice.
- 55:33Medoc Perry: It's nice that we have that so much choice now.
- 55:35Medoc Perry: And you know, sometimes I used to think that I would have to go back to New Zealand and take, you know, sort of, I felt a little bit of a bit like, oh, I should take this home to New Zealand, you know, I should bring consultations home.
- 55:43Medoc Perry: And then I found out actually there's this amazing thriving constellation community at home.
- 55:48Medoc Perry: I could have found it probably if I'd stayed in New Zealand, but.
- 55:51Medoc Perry: It's like, oh great, that's, it's being taken care of over there in this beautiful community.
- 55:56Medoc Perry: So thanks for being part of that.
- 55:58Medoc Perry: You sound like Yeah, you're welcome at the kind of initial blooming.
- 56:02Tracy Cartwright: Yeah.
- 56:02Tracy Cartwright: It's been sort of percolating, I think underground for quite some time.
- 56:06Tracy Cartwright: And my teacher, they talk about, um, her and a few others have talked about 25 years ago, they were trying to get something off the ground here, but nothing was really happening.
- 56:17Tracy Cartwright: Mm-hmm.
- 56:19Tracy Cartwright: Just needed to be the right time.
- 56:20Tracy Cartwright: Things to, to arrive.
- 56:22Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 56:22Medoc Perry: We see that in the consolation too, right, too.
- 56:24Medoc Perry: There's sort of a, the timing sometimes to when things wanna happen.
- 56:28Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 56:28Medoc Perry: So, yeah.
- 56:30Medoc Perry: Beautiful.
- 56:31Medoc Perry: And of course here I am in cca, Arizona, you know, and that's part of the world where it doesn't look like there's a lot of people doing constellations.
- 56:36Medoc Perry: So be lovely to do some more of that work with people here.
- 56:40Medoc Perry: But I like to travel too, so I'm always happy to travel places and do you know, constellations with people, so,
- 56:47Tracy Cartwright: oh, lovely.
- 56:48Tracy Cartwright: Well, it's been fantastic to, um, to talk with you and to share and you know, we've been interacting, um, over, over the messenger and that for a while and yeah, that's really lovely to connect with you on this space.
- 57:03Tracy Cartwright: Thank you so much.
- 57:04Medoc Perry: It's so lovely.
- 57:04Medoc Perry: It's really enjoyed chatting with you, Tracy.
- 57:06Medoc Perry: So lovely.
- 57:07Medoc Perry: I wish I lived closer.
- 57:09Medoc Perry: I would like to come to, um, some of the circles there.
- 57:12Medoc Perry: It sounds fab.
- 57:13Tracy Cartwright: Well, we have Anki, our Art New Zealand Constellation Intensive coming up.
- 57:19Tracy Cartwright: We're gonna be having our third one next year.
- 57:20Tracy Cartwright: So yeah, maybe sometime in the future you'll come and join us.
- 57:25Medoc Perry: I think it would be a great added reason to come to New Zealand.
- 57:29Medoc Perry: Yeah, for sure.
- 57:31Medoc Perry: Yeah, it'd be lovely to come join your I, yeah, I miss the, you know, the land.
- 57:34Medoc Perry: It's so new.
- 57:35Medoc Perry: Zealand's such got such a beautiful flavor.
- 57:37Tracy Cartwright: Yeah, it has a very different energy, doesn't it?
- 57:40Medoc Perry: It does.
- 57:41Medoc Perry: It's really, um, really vibrant and still kind of move.
- 57:46Medoc Perry: It's still like growing in a way with all that fire and
- 57:50Tracy Cartwright: the volcanoes,
- 57:52Medoc Perry: you know, it's sort of a fresh land.
- 57:54Medoc Perry: I think
- 57:55Tracy Cartwright: we are just a whole lot of volcanoes.
- 57:57Tracy Cartwright: It's the land.
- 57:58Medoc Perry: Yeah.
- 57:59Medoc Perry: So thank you Tracy.
- 58:00Medoc Perry: Thank and thanks for the podcast.
- 58:02Medoc Perry: It's, it's been a real pleasure.
- 58:03Medoc Perry: I haven't listened to a huge number of them yet, so working my way through them slowly as I go, driving and.
- 58:09Medoc Perry: I'm loving that there's all these different people to listen to and all these different flavors and different ways of explaining things.
- 58:15Medoc Perry: And I'll hear people talk and I'll think, ah, that's a great way of saying it.
- 58:20Medoc Perry: Oh, that's a,
- 58:20Tracy Cartwright: yeah, it's certainly gone.
- 58:22Tracy Cartwright: Uh, I didn't know what was gonna happen.
- 58:24Tracy Cartwright: It's been nearly a year.
- 58:25Tracy Cartwright: I think I started in September last year.
- 58:28Tracy Cartwright: So, and it's growing and evolving.
