- 0:20SPEAKER_03: This place came out that like I couldn't wait for you to put that Mikey G hair sign on the last one.
- 0:27SPEAKER_01: I know, me too.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 0:29SPEAKER_03: So this space is so different, and I'm so excited for you.
- 0:34SPEAKER_03: There's like so much more space here than your last place.
- 0:37SPEAKER_01: We have so much potential here.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: I'm very excited about it.
- 0:40SPEAKER_03: What made you make the wall green?
- 0:42SPEAKER_03: I mean, it's gorgeous, but like what's with the green?
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: Well, green is the beginning of life, right?
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: We love our plants.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: True.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: But it's also the color of money.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: Yes, it is.
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: Yes, it is.
- 0:54SPEAKER_03: And this beautiful, these orchids, like everybody gave you orchids.
- 0:58SPEAKER_03: Everybody gave us.
- 0:59SPEAKER_03: Oh, you got our drinks ready for us.
- 1:02SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 1:02SPEAKER_03: Oh my god.
- 1:05SPEAKER_03: This is how I like to be welcomed in Mikey G's hair.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: It's the only way to be welcomed in your hair.
- 1:16SPEAKER_03: So congratulations, straight up extra dirty.
- 1:19SPEAKER_03: There's your drink.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: Oh, jeez.
- 1:20SPEAKER_03: Oh my God.
- 1:22SPEAKER_03: This is amazing.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: Welcome to the future of Mikey G hair.
- 1:26SPEAKER_03: What made you?
- 1:27SPEAKER_03: This place looks fantastic.
- 1:28SPEAKER_03: I know you just got started.
- 1:30SPEAKER_03: There's a lot more work you're doing here.
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we're only about like 70% done on the space.
- 1:34SPEAKER_03: What do you have left to do?
- 1:36SPEAKER_03: I know you have a lot, but give me like, like, what do you have?
- 1:39SPEAKER_03: Because I love the decor, I love the seats, I love everything.
- 1:42SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 1:42SPEAKER_03: I know it's serious.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: We've got some cabinets that are going to be getting built.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: We've got um a little bit of decor, some lighting uh alterations.
- 1:51SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: Um, so that things are a little bit more like conducive to sitting in the chair.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: You want everybody to look like a certain way and feel a certain way in the chair.
- 1:59SPEAKER_03: I mean, this is like inviting people into your home.
- 2:01SPEAKER_03: This is your home.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: It is, yeah.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: So we wanted it to feel like more like a home instead of like a business.
- 2:07SPEAKER_03: So what made you take the leap of faith?
- 2:11SPEAKER_03: Because this space is amazing.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: Um you know, I just been wanting to do this my whole life.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: And um, for the first time I felt like, you know what, it was the right timing and the right the right place.
- 2:25SPEAKER_03: And did you walk in and know this was it?
- 2:28SPEAKER_03: This this is.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: Actually, no, I didn't.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 2:31SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: No, I interest.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: The first time we we came and we looked at this space, and there was another salon in here, and um I knew it was a salon and that they were possibly leaving.
- 2:42SPEAKER_01: And I checked it out and I was like, well, you know, if we go in here to make it spacious enough and to make it work for us, we'd have to put a lot of money into it.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: So I was a little bit like hesitant at the beginning.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: But um the landlord came and did some renovations prior to us moving in, and then we came in and did a little bit more.
- 3:01SPEAKER_03: So this lady place looks like it's set up for several different hairdressers.
- 3:06SPEAKER_03: So you're bringing in new people.
- 3:08SPEAKER_03: I'm assuming you're recruiting.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: Uh we're recruiting.
- 3:11SPEAKER_03: Are they cute boys?
- 3:12SPEAKER_03: Or are they are you kind of like open to they don't have to be cute boys only?
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: Only the creme de la creme for us.
- 3:19SPEAKER_03: Of course, of course.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: That's how we do.
- 3:21SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 3:22SPEAKER_03: It's still V Do I still get the VIP treatment?
- 3:24SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 3:24SPEAKER_03: And you have VIP clients?
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: Like, we have like a vision over here of like doing like head wraps and massages and like all kinds of things.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: So we're gonna actually add more sinks, there'll be like backlighting, there's gonna be like hair masks, a possible head spa would be really nice.
- 3:43SPEAKER_03: I would I would be the first to say, uh, sign me up, I'll be more than happy to try it out for you, write a Yelp review, whatever the hell I gotta do, you know.
- 3:52SPEAKER_03: But where's the bar?
- 3:53SPEAKER_03: Let's talk about where where's the bar gonna go?
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: The future bar is gonna be.
- 3:56SPEAKER_03: Because we cannot have a hair salon without a bar.
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: The future bar is gonna be over here.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: First, we're gonna have nails.
- 4:04SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: Yes, just in case.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: Like we're manifesting some nails.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: We need like a like a really good nail tech.
- 4:11SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: We're sitting, but when you first come in, you're gonna find the the beverage station.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: There'll be a little beverage station in here.
- 4:20SPEAKER_02: Will you have a hot cute boy and short shorts?
- 4:23SPEAKER_02: Or we have to help for some.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: I think it's gonna be a self-serve.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: Which some of us we have to be careful self-serving because we serve a little bit too much.
- 4:34SPEAKER_03: So what so you took the leap of faith.
- 4:37SPEAKER_03: Like, what have been some of the challenges that you've had?
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: Well, you know, like honestly, like um, as you know, my background, like I grew up in Boca.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: I don't come from a super wealthy family.
- 4:49SPEAKER_03: Because people think Boca you come from money, but it's not necessarily that.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: There's different parts of Boca.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: There's different parts of Boca, and there are a lot of people who who moved here to like actually, you know, have their kids in a good school and you know, be in a good area.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: And you know, my mom struggled to my parents struggled for us to be raised uh in South Florida, right?
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: And my dad is actually second generation, like I'm a second generation, he was first generation Floridian, and he was born in Miami.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: So my mom and here and him moved to Boca, and we basically grew up here, but um I had no help like financially to get to this spot.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: So we kind of like have been working up the chain, and we, you know, we same thing with our house.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: Like we moved, uh, we got a tiny little condo and then we moved and went from there to the villa and we kept upgrading, and here we are in Espoka.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 5:45SPEAKER_03: I mean, do you uh is there like to make this kind of leap, like there has to be sacrifices you have to make in order to open up something like this?
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: A lot of sacrifices.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: Um you know, I think like most of it has been time and like equity sweat.
- 6:03SPEAKER_01: Like my husband and I put a lot of like our own personal like work into it.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know, we're we're very handy, we do a lot of things.
- 6:11SPEAKER_01: We did our own picture frame molding, we did a lot of our our own uh electrical work and certain things like that, like light work that we do.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: Um, but also there's the emotional and the time to do that.
- 6:23SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I mean it's stressful because I mean it's I would imagine it's gotta be stressful.
- 6:26SPEAKER_03: I it's stressful for me living with my husband, let alone living with him and working with him.
- 6:32SPEAKER_03: So I know Michael works full-time somewhere else, but he does help you on the weekends when he's off of work.
- 6:38SPEAKER_03: So he does.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: And you guys are like like we're putting it all in.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: We're literally always working, we burn the candle at all ends.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: Like we get up in the morning, we start working.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: Like when I leave here at night, I take the laundry with me, and I do the laundry at home, and then I fold it and I bring it back.
- 6:52SPEAKER_03: So it's non stop.
- 6:53SPEAKER_01: It's like a constant thing.
- 6:54SPEAKER_03: We don't have cleaning people, we do everything ourselves, like but it's like starting up again, even though you already had your business, you know, in the other space, it's almost like restarting a business again, like from the not quite the ground up, but because you already have the clientele.
- 7:12SPEAKER_03: You've got an I mean, I'm one of them, so I know.
- 7:15SPEAKER_03: I know your clientele.
- 7:17SPEAKER_01: I mean, you know yes, and thank you, and very gracious to you.
- 7:20SPEAKER_03: No, but I'm just saying, like, you've got some great women and some men that come in.
- 7:24SPEAKER_03: So, like, you know, now you got some chairs, you're gonna bring in some people, like so we gotta bring some some uh new people into the mix.
- 7:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: Personalities.
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: Uh, we just got what's important to you to hire somebody.
- 7:37SPEAKER_03: Oh, you did hire somebody.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: We did.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: We hired one girl, her name is Bree.
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: She comes from Colorado, she's absolutely fabulous, she does great work.
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, uh, she's young, she's cute, she does great hair.
- 7:47SPEAKER_03: And sounds like a Mikey G person.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: I feel like she's up and coming for Boca.
- 7:52SPEAKER_01: Like it she'll be a great fit.
- 7:54SPEAKER_03: That's awesome.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:55SPEAKER_03: So if you were gonna put create your dream team here, who would you dream?
- 7:59SPEAKER_03: Like, what what would you be looking for for the dream team?
- 8:02SPEAKER_03: Like, I see I see your chair there, but I see five other chairs.
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: I feel like the Mikey G brand is actually um, it's more like like look at these chairs, like look at these stations.
- 8:14SPEAKER_03: Like, talk to me.
- 8:15SPEAKER_03: Like, who wouldn't want to work here?
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: So, like I mean it's it's nice, it's very nice.
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: I love working in here.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: Oh, I know.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: Um I feel like the brand is uh the fit, the Mikey G uh fit is gonna be someone who fits in with our family.
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: Like when we do our interviews, like I don't traditionally do like an interview like normal people like would just interview with the boss or with the owner.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like I have the whole team come and everybody input and feeds off the vibe.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: And right, you know, since we're like family, we have to get along, we have to work with each other.
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 8:47SPEAKER_01: Um, even though um our like our model is basically like a a collaboration of artists.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: Um I didn't originally want to have my name on the business because I'm not the only person that there's only one Mikey G, Mikey G.
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: There is only one Mikey G, and it is your name, and the and the vision, the Mikey G brand, is that it's not just me.
- 9:10SPEAKER_01: That's it.
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 9:11SPEAKER_03: So you have right, I know you have you have Kim that works with you, you have the new girl, so you've got two, you're three, you've got uh I'm looking forward to bringing in some more artists, yeah.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it would be really cool to see who joins us, you know, so we can be like the Partridge family.
- 9:27SPEAKER_03: All right, and where you know, I mean that would be awesome.
- 9:30SPEAKER_03: So at the at the end of this, we'll tell everybody like where to if you're a hairdresser that feels like they could fit in with your brand, yeah.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: Come check out your style.
- 9:39SPEAKER_03: This would be the place.
- 9:40SPEAKER_03: Definitely check you out for sure.
- 9:43SPEAKER_03: I mean, so what are some of the like I'm gonna get creative?
- 9:45SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna get a little like in the in the weeds now.
- 9:48SPEAKER_03: Not many people like to talk about finances.
- 9:51SPEAKER_03: I mean, this didn't this probably had to cost a pretty penny.
- 9:54SPEAKER_03: So have you just come across any obstacles?
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, there's been quite a few obstacles.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: You know, we've tried to take the traditional routes um with trying to open the space.
- 10:06SPEAKER_01: Um, we didn't have a lot of uh funding in the beginning, so yeah, we've tried to get uh regular personal loans.
- 10:12SPEAKER_03: And how's that experience been?
- 10:14SPEAKER_01: I just bought a house last year, and you know, all of those financial strains have kind of like made it a little harder.
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: I find it interesting because I wanted I would like to ask somebody like what it's like when you move and you relocate and you want to relocate your business and your house, right?
- 10:30SPEAKER_01: Like you're getting up and you're leaving and you're starting over.
- 10:33SPEAKER_01: How do you do that?
- 10:34SPEAKER_01: Like because they make it so difficult.
- 10:36SPEAKER_01: Like when you buy a house, like after you buy a house, they're like, you just bought a house, you can't have this business now.
- 10:41SPEAKER_03: So it's like I I personally so this is my own, this is only my advice or opinion.
- 10:48SPEAKER_03: I've not in the you know, I spent a lot of time in hair salons, but I don't own the business, and it's not my business.
- 10:54SPEAKER_03: But what I've what I've done in business was I would actually reach out to successful owners of a of the business.
- 11:03SPEAKER_03: So say like if there's somebody that you follow who's a who owns a salon that you've been following, is to maybe like call them and and get and to sit down and have a cup of coffee.
- 11:14SPEAKER_03: People love to tell their success stories, you know, and they should then they'll usually be honest with you about the success and the failures, right?
- 11:22SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 11:22SPEAKER_03: And I think the best way to educate yourself being on the next step, even though you've already owned a shop, but like this is next level, like this is big step next level.
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: It's huge step.
- 11:35SPEAKER_03: This is the biggest, this is like probably the last step, right?
- 11:38SPEAKER_01: Oh, we're in the we're in the the best zip, one of the best zip codes in the country.
- 11:42SPEAKER_03: Like it's absolutely so like you got you know, like it's a tight community.
- 11:45SPEAKER_03: The you know, the salon, there's a lot of salons here in Boca, but there's only a few that that make it, and there's a few that are very reputable.
- 11:52SPEAKER_03: You're one of them.
- 11:53SPEAKER_03: But like maybe uh my suggestion would be to maybe talk to somebody, a business owner that you respect and you've seen and you've seen them grow, and just ask them their opinion.
- 12:03SPEAKER_03: Say, you know, whether it's a man or a woman, just say, hey, you know, I'm I've moved, I've moved on.
- 12:08SPEAKER_03: I mean, is it that cutthroat where they don't want to give away secrets?
- 12:11SPEAKER_03: It's not so much that it's like what were your struggles?
- 12:13SPEAKER_03: Like, how'd you get over that?
- 12:14SPEAKER_03: When you started out, nobody started out with a bag of money, unless, of course, you came from it.
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: Well, most people most people get funding, right?
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: Like the majority of the salon owners that I worked for had backing.
- 12:26SPEAKER_01: So like they went into it with a backing.
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: So, like, that's why I take a lot of pride in what we've done here because we've done it with absolutely no backing.
- 12:33SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 12:34SPEAKER_01: Um, and I would continue, I'm gonna continue to to do it that way until somebody decides to give me a sack of money.
- 12:43SPEAKER_03: Well, what kind of advice would you give to somebody then for if they wanted to start out and they don't have the funding?
- 12:51SPEAKER_03: Like, how did you get to where you are right now?
- 12:53SPEAKER_03: And I know that's what I'm saying.
- 12:55SPEAKER_01: Proceed cautiously, you know.
- 12:56SPEAKER_01: Like, I think you really have to really think it through when you are when you're lining everything up because sometimes it doesn't line up, you know.
- 13:07SPEAKER_01: Like in our situation, like this space became available and it was a previous salon.
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: That's very it's very rare that like a salon will leave a a spot, right?
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: And then you're able to jump in and kind of just fill its shoes and just make it your own and and and go with it, right?
- 13:22SPEAKER_01: Like our scenario happened to just be the timing, it wasn't like an actual, like I'd been looking to do this for years, but it was just I found the right spot, the right location, it's around the corner from my house, like it's convenient, and I jumped in.
- 13:38SPEAKER_01: However, on the on the downside of that, where I'm feel like maybe I would give someone advice not to do what I did.
- 13:45SPEAKER_01: Okay, what did you do?
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: I what did you do, Mikey?
- 13:48SPEAKER_01: I jumped in before.
- 13:49SPEAKER_03: Did you leap before you looked?
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: I l I leaped before I looked because I didn't want to lose the space, I didn't want to like lose the you know, lose the look the location.
- 13:59SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 13:59SPEAKER_01: So but that doesn't mean that it won't be successful.
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: It just means that there's just other obstacles that maybe like maybe they're that somebody could avoid.
- 14:08SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 14:08SPEAKER_03: So so advice is don't it's okay to take risks, right?
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: That's always good to you.
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: No risk it, no biscuit.
- 14:16SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 14:17SPEAKER_03: It must be a Florida thing.
- 14:18SPEAKER_03: I don't think I've ever heard that before.
- 14:20SPEAKER_01: Well, I mean it is southern.
- 14:21SPEAKER_01: It's a bit it's a biscuit.
- 14:22SPEAKER_03: I'm not sure.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: I'm also gonna stop it up like a biscuit.
- 14:26SPEAKER_03: I just don't know that phrase, but I'm going with it.
- 14:29SPEAKER_03: I understand what you're saying.
- 14:30SPEAKER_03: But I mean, what advice would you give to so you give advice like, hey, you know what?
- 14:35SPEAKER_03: You you know, it's okay to take risk.
- 14:37SPEAKER_03: Know what the downfall would be if, you know, just have a backup plan.
- 14:42SPEAKER_03: And, you know, right?
- 14:44SPEAKER_03: I mean, I'm thinking there's always a backup plan.
- 14:46SPEAKER_03: There's always a backup plan.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: Personally, like where we're at right now, we're still in a really great spot.
- 14:51SPEAKER_01: Like we're in the location, we're you know, we're in a beautiful spot.
- 14:54SPEAKER_01: Like there's the spot is absolutely beautiful.
- 14:58SPEAKER_03: What's this employees only?
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: I know I don't What's this employees only?
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: Leave it to you to push the red button.
- 15:05SPEAKER_00: What the hell's going on in here?
- 15:07SPEAKER_03: Was this like storage?
- 15:08SPEAKER_03: That's the that's where the magic happens.
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: That's the break room.
- 15:12SPEAKER_03: No, you know what that's like the scientist, the mad scientist.
- 15:16SPEAKER_03: It's like a laboratory.
- 15:19SPEAKER_01: It's also like a little different from my suite, like where we go to like talk the tea.
- 15:24SPEAKER_01: So no.
- 15:25SPEAKER_03: So does this, is these new sinks, does this mean that I'm not gonna have water pouring down my back?
- 15:31SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 15:32SPEAKER_03: So are we gonna continue to blame my head not going back all the way and why everything is like a little bit?
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna do a little demonstration about like about why people get wet in the sink.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: Okay, sure.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: And I would love for people to pay attention to this one because this is what happens when people get wet.
- 15:48SPEAKER_01: They they do this.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:54SPEAKER_01: If you're looking at your phone, yeah, gravity is gonna take water down your back, isn't it?
- 16:01SPEAKER_01: Like the better way to do it.
- 16:02SPEAKER_03: That's what I'm doing?
- 16:03SPEAKER_01: I'm saying that that's what everyone does.
- 16:06SPEAKER_01: Everyone, everyone, they get comfortable and they start slouching, and before you know it, they're down here, and then they're see how my neck is turning, and all of a sudden your chin is in your and the water goes down your back.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: Your butt has to be at the back of the back.
- 16:20SPEAKER_03: So what so tell us?
- 16:22SPEAKER_01: That's why these sinks are adjustable, so that we can get to the nape of your neck, okay, and we can rest your head in the back, but your head should be all the way in the sink.
- 16:31SPEAKER_01: Now, there are exceptions to the rule.
- 16:34SPEAKER_01: If you're petite or if you're small, sometimes you need a little boost.
- 16:39SPEAKER_01: And if you're older, sometimes you know you got a little osteoporosis and you might be a little crooked or something, you know.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: Let me ask you a question.
- 16:46SPEAKER_03: What is this echo heads?
- 16:48SPEAKER_03: Oh, the echo heads are um like why is like there's coffee beans in it.
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: It's a water filter technology to pull out impurities uh so that we can keep it.
- 17:00SPEAKER_03: Why is that good to the hair?
- 17:01SPEAKER_03: Like, why is this important?
- 17:03SPEAKER_03: I don't know! Tell me!
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: So, wait, this is something I gotta tell you.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: In Florida, and I remind everybody from the north, because you guys are used to reservoir water.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: That sounds dirty.
- 17:12SPEAKER_01: That sounds dirty.
- 17:14SPEAKER_01: Reservoir, the reservoir up north.
- 17:15SPEAKER_01: Like, that's where everybody gets the water in like New York, that whole tri-state area.
- 17:20SPEAKER_01: Down here, this is a swamp.
- 17:23SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: So unless you want swamp thing hair, you gotta put a filter on it.
- 17:30SPEAKER_03: So I don't think I've seen that in any salons.
- 17:34SPEAKER_03: Not that I've been to before I met you.
- 17:38SPEAKER_01: They might have one on the actual building.
- 17:41SPEAKER_03: So, should I get that in my house too, in my shower?
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: Every person should have a filter either on.
- 17:45SPEAKER_03: I wonder why I'm in your place all the time.
- 17:47SPEAKER_03: Oh my god.
- 17:48SPEAKER_01: It could be that maybe that's turning your color.
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: Very possible.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: Very possible.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: There's a lot of limestone deposit.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: There's also we pump a lot of um chlorine and chemicals in our water here because we've got to get rid of the swamp.
- 18:01SPEAKER_01: We've got to get rid of the mud.
- 18:02SPEAKER_03: I love I love the chair color.
- 18:04SPEAKER_03: I absolutely love the chairs.
- 18:06SPEAKER_03: I absolutely love the chairs.
- 18:07SPEAKER_03: Me too.
- 18:08SPEAKER_03: I love what you did.
- 18:09SPEAKER_03: I can't wait to see what this is gonna be like.
- 18:11SPEAKER_03: I mean, phase phase one is finished.
- 18:13SPEAKER_01: Phase one is finished.
- 18:15SPEAKER_01: This is actually a sample of what um the stone that we're you we're gonna use.
- 18:20SPEAKER_01: It's actually a porcelain, and I chose it because marble, um, marble tends to be porous and uh it'll pick up stains.
- 18:27SPEAKER_01: It can pick up stains.
- 18:28SPEAKER_03: Where are you putting that?
- 18:29SPEAKER_01: So these will replace these shelves here, the gold shelves.
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: Oh and it's also going to uh be part of the backsplash on the shampoo area.
- 18:39SPEAKER_03: Where okay, what else do you have construction-wise that you need to have done in here?
- 18:43SPEAKER_01: Well, the hospital lighting, because I don't want to be reminded that I'm at the dentist when I'm getting my hair done.
- 18:49SPEAKER_03: No, but the dentist has like pictures in the ceiling now.
- 18:52SPEAKER_00: Well, now they put the they put the TV with the with the scapes.
- 18:55SPEAKER_03: You know you should have didn't you see men and speedoes.
- 19:02SPEAKER_03: Hot men and speedos in the light.
- 19:05SPEAKER_03: Everybody's gonna be like, no, I'll just sit in the chair for a little longer.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: In downtown Del Rey, they used to have a bar that had like thongs hanging from the ceiling.
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: Like, oh no, it wasn't thongs, it was bras.
- 19:14SPEAKER_01: It was bras.
- 19:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they had that in New York.
- 19:16SPEAKER_03: So they had a few bars in New York City.
- 19:17SPEAKER_01: We should do thongs, like it would be even better.
- 19:19SPEAKER_03: That would be that would be great.
- 19:20SPEAKER_03: Like a closed line of thongs.
- 19:21SPEAKER_01: A closed line of thongs, yeah, totally.
- 19:23SPEAKER_01: Anyways, luxury, only at Mikey G, thongs hanging from the ceiling.
- 19:27SPEAKER_03: Why not?
- 19:28SPEAKER_03: They'll be like, hey, you know that place with the thongs?
- 19:30SPEAKER_03: Thong, thong, thong, thong.
- 19:33SPEAKER_01: So no.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: So over here, like this is gonna be a processing area.
- 19:37SPEAKER_01: Like, um, these chairs will be here for um for glossing the hair, and also there'll be head dryers that are gonna come down in case somebody wants to get a roller set.
- 19:46SPEAKER_03: You're gonna get one of those things that moves around.
- 19:48SPEAKER_03: Do you ever see those things?
- 19:49SPEAKER_01: I have the rotating, yes.
- 19:51SPEAKER_03: Okay, cool.
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: I might do one of those in one of the um head dryers.
- 19:56SPEAKER_03: Nice.
- 19:57SPEAKER_01: So we'll see.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: I don't mean there's a lot of work that we gotta do here.
- 20:01SPEAKER_01: We have retail shelves that are coming next week.

- 20:29SPEAKER_03: I don't know about you.
- 20:30SPEAKER_03: Could it be a proctologist?
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: Proctologist.
- 20:33SPEAKER_01: Listen, I call my gastro my G.
- 20:37SPEAKER_01: I call my gastro- Why is that not?
- 20:40SPEAKER_03: Gynecologist versus a proctologist.
