Transcript
- 0:18Hello, and welcome to Gatesleepers, the pop culture game show that shines a
- 0:22spotlight onto everyone's favorite fandoms. I'm your games master and big time movie executive
- 0:28acting as a gatekeeper to Felt based performers Matt Watson. But a games master
- 0:33needs games, and games need players. So on our first team tonight,
- 0:37he is a Gateleepers cast member, a musician, and a regular Fuzzy Bear.
- 0:41It's Chris Reagan. Hi, ho there, friends, I'm so happy
- 0:45to be here. And he is a podcaster, a film buff, and
- 0:50host of the movie Seller. He's so great, so he must be Gonzo.
- 0:54It's Dan Allen. Hey, glad to be here. I don't have
- 0:59nearly as cool way to say it, but I'm here. Well, welcome
- 1:03back, Chris, Welcome back. Then. It's it's great to have you
- 1:06both. Yea, how are you both doing? Doing good? Yeah?
- 1:10Yeah, doing great. I'm excited to do this nice Yeah, excited.
- 1:14It's to play some games about the Muppets. Absolutely, don't get me started
- 1:18on felt based characters. You know, I'm you're gonna show them whose boss?
- 1:26Just don't don't get me too literally, don't get me started on it.
- 1:30Okay, okay, okay, too excited. Okay, okay, well
- 1:34hopefully hopefully in a good way. And Chris, Chris, you're a fan
- 1:37of the Muppets, then unless you want to keep up this bit that you
- 1:40can't stand felt based performance, Yeah, no, I can't keep that bit
- 1:42going. I am a fan of the Muppets though, yeah, for sure.
- 1:48Nice, do you have a maybe earliest Muppets memory when you first got
- 1:52into the Muppets. I received the Muppet Treasure Island for either my sixth or
- 1:57my eighth birthday on VHS, and that was big for me. So I
- 2:02think that's my earliest one, but I know it goes back even farther from
- 2:07me. I just can't remember past that. Nice. No, it's it's
- 2:10a good one. You can almost like date the Muppets fan by like sort
- 2:15of cutting them and seeing what VHS is inside and then welcome back to welcome
- 2:22back to the podcast. Are you a Muppets fan? So, I will
- 2:24say I have pretty much all the Muppet VHS tapes, but that's just because
- 2:29I have a lot of VHS tapes. But no, I mean quite frankly,
- 2:36I'm not a huge Muppets guy. I like I remember watching them growing
- 2:39up. But it is not a thing that I was ever especially drawn to.
- 2:43Nice. Nice, this is good. I love to fine. So
- 2:46it sounds like Chris is gonna really carry us, which is fantastic. Well,
- 2:51see, I have a really bad memory, so and I look,
- 2:54I don't want to set expectations too low, but I do lose most of
- 2:59the games I play of gate Leapers Dan. So well, okay, So
- 3:02here's the thing, Chris, I don't know if you know this about me.
- 3:05I've been on twice. I've won once, I've tied once. The
- 3:09only outcome I've not had is an l So completely set. It looks like
- 3:14we're a team. You know, we're a match made for failure. All
- 3:20right, Well, it sounds like your opponents so but maybe going to have
- 3:23a relatively easy job. So let's meet them first. Up. He is
- 3:27a podcaster who champions musicians on the Struggling Artist podcast. He's the Doctor Teeth
- 3:32for the Electric Mayhems of this World. It's Trev Allen, Hi, thanks
- 3:36for thanks for having me. And she is a podcaster. She works in
- 3:40stem so that makes her speaker. It's Audra Stephenson. Lovely Audre, Welcome
- 3:51as always to the podcast and Trevor, welcome to the podcast for the first
- 3:53time. Thanks for being here. Thank you. I am so excited to
- 3:57be here. I love the show. Oh hell, yes, I love
- 4:00I love my cousin Dan. Who's who we were playing again? Yeah,
- 4:04that's the big reveal, trev one. I'm so glad you mentioned that,
- 4:10Trev, because yes, Dan and Trev both fantastic podcasters, both great podcast
- 4:15hosts, but they're also cousins. So there's like kind of a little little
- 4:18rivalry. It's a bit of family feud here. Cross them over with legally
- 4:24distinct from family of course, of course family fighting. You can say family
- 4:30feud with like an umlaut over it or something. Okay, Trev, we'll
- 4:36start with you. You a big Muppets fan. Yeah, I think so.
- 4:40I grew up watching the Muppets and and uh, for a for a
- 4:44very long time, I would do Muppet voices, and uh, you know,
- 4:48I've lost some of that over the years. I every once in a
- 4:50while when I tell someone that I used to do them, they want me
- 4:54to do one, and I do it and it's just not as not as
- 4:57polished as normal. Yeah, well I won't I won't ask you, but
- 5:01if you feel like dropping them at any point throughout the recording, please feel
- 5:06free. I'll try. I'll try to dig deep into that one, you
- 5:09know. Yeah, I'm a nice Do you have like an earliest Muppets memory,
- 5:15maybe like a first Muppets feature that you watched, so I'm old right.
- 5:21I had something called r C A Select Division dates VH by like two
- 5:28years I think, and and actually because it got wiped out, but on
- 5:33that I had I had the Great Muppet Caper, which was actually it was
- 5:39two discs. They played records. It played vinyl records as film as w
- 5:44Yeah, it's a very cool device. But anyway, I had the Great
- 5:46Muppet Caper. I had the Frog Prints, which was like a little like
- 5:51it had like it was like a little short. And then I had something
- 5:55on the other side of that one for like another one I couldn't remember that
- 5:57is. And then I HADNS jugg and Christmas and that had another cart like
- 6:02not a card too. Another show on the opposite side of that as well,
- 6:05about forgot what it was. It was. It was about these animals
- 6:10that made music and they like got kicked out their homes by old crotchety men.
- 6:15That owned them. It was very, very bizarre. But yeah,
- 6:18so yeah, memories of of of of of the Muppets, Yeah nice.
- 6:24Holy shit, I'm an Honors drug band Christmas Trevy. I know we're on
- 6:28different teams, but you just unlocked so many memories for me. I hadn't
- 6:32thought about that in so long. I appreciate it, honestly, I'm glad
- 6:39I could this. Yeah, this is good. This is some good friendly
- 6:44spirits between the teams when family is not involved, is how this is going
- 6:48to go. Yeah. If I had just said that to Trev Living like,
- 6:51fuck you, Dad, that's family. Yeah. Right, seems it's
- 6:59time to play the music. It's time to light the lights. It's time
- 7:02to name your teams on our Muppet Show tonight. Let's start with Chris and
- 7:08Dan. Have you got any ideas for team names? What do you got?
- 7:11Chris? So, I've got one, and it's it's a very so
- 7:15in the then diagram of like niche things. It's it's Muppets and and fans
- 7:21of hip hop. Okay, so I all I all I could think of
- 7:27was Waka walka Floka. Dude, that's insane. I swear to god,
- 7:31that's on my list. It's gotta be our name ship. I mean that's
- 7:39walk walka flocka flame. But we can drop the flame, you know whatever.
- 7:43It just it got really long by the flame part. That's why I
- 7:46just said the first three words. But we can do either. I'm down
- 7:48for it. I'm down for it. I just like to make the name
- 7:53long because I like, you know, because I know it makes Matt's life
- 7:56more difficult. Titles get pretty long. Yeah, because my other suggest the
- 8:03name would have been way longer and way more annoying. It would have been
- 8:07the Jimmy Jim Jimmy Jim Jim Jim Jim's in reference to Treasure Island. Sure.
- 8:15That's really good, though, dude, I love that, love that
- 8:18lot. No, because I can just about say Waka walka floka, but
- 8:24the Jim Jimmy Jim Jim Jim Jimmy Jim Jim Jim Hip Jim. Yeah,
- 8:31Billy Connolly. So if anybody should be able to say it easily, it's
- 8:35you. That's right, that's right, that's true. I am an old
- 8:39Scottish man. You're the closest out of all of us. Okay, that's
- 8:46true. Fair enough, fair enough, I mean, are you going with
- 8:48Waka walka Fla because of the fates of I feel like we have to.
- 8:52We both starendipity lovely stuff. All right, let's let's find out who they'll
- 8:58be. Ultra Treff, any any ideas? I really like portmanteaus, but
- 9:05I could not think of any, so I did resort to AI. Okay,
- 9:13the top three when I asked, can you please provide me with ten
- 9:20muppets seemed trivia team names with portmanteaus please, I'm very nice to AI.
- 9:26I had Muppeteers, Kermitsters, and the Miss Pigmentors. I don't know what
- 9:35the portmanteaus were on any of them, really muppeteers, I get. I
- 9:39guess I'm not worried about AI. I don't think. Yeah, I don't
- 9:43think I'm worried yet. I don't. I just don't think there's some options
- 9:50there for sure, Treff, Do you have any ideas? All right?
- 9:54So, I'm a fan of the book that Fight Club was made after,
- 9:58right, we fight Club? So we could be we could be Project the
- 10:05Electri Mayhem, Project, Electric Mayhem, Good Girls, Gonzo Wild. That
- 10:16was when I thought, yeah, and I I don't really have anything else
- 10:22really at the moment. No, I mean, I don't think you need
- 10:24to have anything else that is right up my alley. All right, I
- 10:30think we've I think I can set this one an ink. It's a Girls
- 10:33Guns So Wild top tier. Okay, so walk a Walk A flock of
- 10:41Us is Girls Guns So Wild. We got the might. These might be
- 10:46the sickest fucking names ever to be on Gay. It's got a very spring
- 10:50break. Yeah, yeah, oh yeah, muppet spring Break getting me?
- 10:58Yes, make it, make it Disney. Is there a pitch game in
- 11:01this episode? Well, a little bit. Maybe something will come up,
- 11:05Maybe something will come up. Irana Remake happens like spring Break, and I
- 11:09can see Low Zealand like throwing fish, throwing Piranha the whole time. Yes,
- 11:15Okay, there's a game coming up that's gonna be great for these kinds
- 11:18of iteas. All right. And if you're listening to this and thinking,
- 11:22I'm here for the games and the laughs and the bears and the chickens and
- 11:24things, but I honestly don't know which one's are muppets and which one's a
- 11:28sesame. Straight still confuses me, So don't worry about that. His order
- 11:33with a little segment we like to call passing knowledge. The Muppets are an
- 11:41ensemble cast of puppet characters known for their absurd, meta and sketch style comedy.
- 11:46I mean, come on, you might not be a fan, but
- 11:50if you don't know who the Muppets are, I can't help you. No
- 11:54one can. Created by Jim Henson in nineteen fifty five for smaller TV shows,
- 11:58it took twenty years for the mainstream to be interested in his work,
- 12:03with the creation of Sesame Street in nineteen sixty nine and The Muppet Show in
- 12:07nineteen seventy six. So, Matt, there's hope for our podcast. Yet,
- 12:11just sixteen more years until we're on TV. Tv'll be dead by that.
- 12:16Through the eighties and nineties, multiple Muppet movies were made, as well
- 12:20as TV spinoffs and lots of merchandising. Muppet Mania was unleashed on the world,
- 12:26with Kermit and Miss Piggy becoming celebrities in their own right, one a
- 12:31slender performer and the other a toxic girl boss. They were the Timothy Chalome
- 12:37and Kylie Jenner of their time. Themes of the Muppets often include following your
- 12:41dreams, overcoming the entertainment industry, choosing kindness and of course existentialism, which
- 12:48is why we hold other media to such a high standard. They're made of
- 12:52felt and they tap into the human condition better than Mark Wahlberg ever has.
- 12:58Despite helping to pioneer at a comedy, the Muppets haven't found as much success
- 13:01in the meta modern age. But that's because the Muppets are rebellious at heart.
- 13:07And you can imagine an older Kermit saying, why are there so many
- 13:11songs about songs about rainbows? Let's flagate leapers, Thank you, Odra.
- 13:20Just before we get to today's games, I've asked each player to bring in
- 13:22a muse that's something that inspires them or something they love from this particular fandom.
- 13:28The Muppets are inspiring to me because Kermit taught me to create spaces where
- 13:31others can create joy, which inspired this very podcast. And now imagine how
- 13:37many listeners we'd have if I was an actual frog. Okay, Chris,
- 13:43we'll start with you. What's inspiring you from the world of the Muppets.
- 13:46You know, I thought about this a lot. I think I'm gonna have
- 13:48to say my muse for this is my sister, because I know it's super
- 13:56heartwarming. It's less ar arming now you've pointed out that it's somebody's got to
- 14:01do it. You know, I'm beating everybody on the internet to it.
- 14:09We quote Muppet movies to each other too much. We annoyed the absolute shit
- 14:15out of my family. It's one of my favorite things in the world,
- 14:18and I will never stop doing it. And it's just so ingrained in my
- 14:22brain that I just will quote them up. It's no matter what. And
- 14:28so it just always makes me think of my sister. So so shouts out
- 14:31to Rachel. Shouts out, Rachel. She doesn't listen to podcasts, but
- 14:37you know what, you know, it's all good. I take that shout
- 14:41out back, Rachel. Some other Rachel can receive that shout out. Yes,
- 14:46hey, if you need it out there, Rachel's out there. You
- 14:48know, take it. It's all good. You'll be you can be my
- 14:52sister. It's all good, brilliant, very inspiring, christ very hot wolming.
- 14:56I guess we will move on over to your Waka walka flucka teammates,
- 15:03Dan, what's inspiring you from the Muppets? All right? So mine is
- 15:07also family related, but a little less heartwarming. My muse for this,
- 15:11it's a little outside the box, so hopefully it can count. My muse
- 15:15for this is that time that Trev and I got in a fight on my
- 15:18podcast about whether or not puppets are animation, and they are not, and
- 15:24everybody in the whole goddamn world agree with me except for Google, except for
- 15:33We're going I won't I won't make you all uncomfortable by forcing you to take
- 15:39a side on this, and we'll just all assume that I'm right because obviously
- 15:43puppets are not animation. So we did an episode of the show where one
- 15:48of the categories you had to make a pick for was an animated film,
- 15:52and Trev, because of his love for muppets, brought him up at movie.
- 15:56But I was like, we all were like, nah, not on
- 15:58Google, Snow get under animation, so you must be wrong. So that
- 16:04fight is my muse because that is the thing that drove me really to be
- 16:08here for this episode to try to beat Trev. It's time for some revenge,
- 16:14the true spirit of the muse e. Yeah, sorry, I can.
- 16:19I can be on your side on this, Yeah, one hundred percent.
- 16:22You're absolutely right. Thank you, Chris. Thank you. I love
- 16:26this, all that good, all that good natured like talking, Chris,
- 16:30I mean you and the way I thought we had a moment earlier. Chris.
- 16:37Sorry, I don't I don't mean anything by it. I'm just I
- 16:41just agree with Dan on this one. It so happens to also be my
- 16:45teammate. You get a backup, Trev. I am actually going to back
- 16:48up Trev, because we consider claymation to be an animation society, he said,
- 16:53it's thought motion though that's listen, we don't need to Why do we
- 16:56call it claim? Why do we use of a portmanteau, including to animate?
- 17:03Actually, Dan, Dan could, could I ask you to time stamp
- 17:06the argument so I can put it in the show notes for this episode?
- 17:10Yeah? Yeah, timestamp the argument on my show on the movie Sellar,
- 17:12and I'll link it to anyone who wants to take a sidebar right now and
- 17:17pause this and listen to the debate and then come back. All right,
- 17:22I'll send that over to you. Man. You're so good at self promoting
- 17:25Dan. It makes me sick if I wore my show's podcast on a shirt
- 17:30during a promotion from my daughter's type one diabetes lemonade Stan there's nothing I won't
- 17:37do to promote my show, and I called him out on it. Oh
- 17:44fantastic, that's a great that's a great muse Dan. I love how specific
- 17:47it is as a moment, and I yes, I will be listening to
- 17:49that as soon as we've done recording here. All right, all right,
- 17:52let's move on over to the Girl's Gonzo Wild. It's a fantastic team name.
- 17:57It's great. And Trev, what's what's inspiring you from the Muppets?
- 18:02All right? I'm a bit of a storyteller, so I apologize for this,
- 18:03but oh please, you know, and and I will say that discussion
- 18:08with Dan did pop in my head at one point when I was thinking about
- 18:11this. This is going to go shout out to missus Philiberto, who was
- 18:17the high school librarian at my high school, Cerahoe High School. My senior
- 18:22year back in the day, we had to do a career paper and that
- 18:27was like your big project for the year, and I wanted to do mine
- 18:32on puppetry and Missus Philiberto looked at me dead in the eye and said no.
- 18:37And I was like, You're what, what do you mean? She's
- 18:38like, we don't have books on puppetry here, that's not a real career.
- 18:42And she's like, no one ever made it as a puppeteer, And
- 18:45I said, have you heard of Jim Henson? And she was like blah
- 18:48blah. And then I said something about like, yeah, you made it
- 18:51real far as a high school librarian, which got me into a lot of
- 18:56them. I might have dropped a sane language. I was, I was
- 18:59a little bit of a wild kid back then. Show but you're just you're
- 19:03You're a teen who's just been TOLTI con if you were a wild one and
- 19:07you actually wanted to do a freaking assignment and they're telling you you can't,
- 19:11I'm angry for you. Is my life went this way for a long time,
- 19:15all right? So I got sent to the principal's office. A teacher,
- 19:18an assistant teacher heard the whole thing. Came in my defense, I
- 19:23was I was let off without any problems, and that teacher found books in
- 19:29our library about puppetry. So of course, yes, I made sure Schmiss
- 19:33Philiberto was there when I checked out books on puppetry. Yeah. The ending
- 19:38of that story is I went on. I went online to a website called
- 19:41school sucks dot com and I and I downloaded a career paper about landscape architecture
- 19:48and I got an A plus. But that's besides the point, because I
- 19:53didn't want to do the puppetree one anymore because of missus Philiberto. So I
- 19:57hope she's listening to Gately. I don't know why she wouldn't, but I
- 20:02would like to say, Trev, she was your high school teacher. She's
- 20:06probably dead brow. Do you think I am Daniel is for coming on Gatelea
- 20:17Bers to talk about Muppets? Yes, that is fantastic and again revenge.
- 20:22It is adpiring thing. Damn it. We know what motivates the Allen's.
- 20:30Do not mess with this family. Okay O, good stuff, very inspiring,
- 20:37Trev, and I love how specific the story is as well. This
- 20:41is great, Audra. Last, but not least, what is inspiring you
- 20:45from the world of the Muppets? Listen up, Miss Stevens. No,
- 20:52just kidding. I just wanted to shout out of mean teacher I had.
- 20:56I am inspired by Christmas Eve. I didn't really watch the Muppets growing up
- 21:03much. I did watch Treasure Island at a person from Church's house. They
- 21:10had it and so anytime I was there, I would watch Muppets Treasure Island.
- 21:14But I didn't have any other concept of it really until I married Matt,
- 21:21and then he's like, I watch Muppet Christmas Carol every Christmas Eve.
- 21:23There's only one more sleep tell Christmas. It's the time when you watch Muppet
- 21:26Christmas Carol. Like, Okay, I like a Christmas Carol. It's one
- 21:30of my favorite Christmas movies. It's pretty much the only one that we rewatch
- 21:33every single year. It's wonderful, Like Chris, I quote it year round.
- 21:38Thank you for making me a part of This is a constant part of
- 21:42my vernacular. And it's just it's such a wonderful movie and it's just such
- 21:49a perfect It's one of the best retellings of a Christmas Carol because there's so
- 21:55many of them that there is a tier list and it is top year.
- 22:00Yeah. Yeah, I'm just I'm having to engage with my own personal life
- 22:03on the podcast. I'm having to put the real me into this that.
- 22:08Yeah, I do. Sorry, we could say it's a different look.
- 22:12We live a very sweet life. That's a very sweet picture you've painted of
- 22:15our actual life. I'm just wearing the game show jacket at the moment,
- 22:18and I wasn't expecting it. Yeah, and then yeah, get rid of
- 22:26that guy. Now that is a That is a beautiful muse. Obviously.
- 22:30I love watching up. It's Christmas Carol with you. Every single I said
- 22:36single, like when my English accent makes it sound like it's like every single
- 22:41it sounds like you want revenge. It's all a revenge story, all right.
- 22:48I think we're all feeling pretty inspired. So let's hop in an old
- 22:51looking car with that hilarious looking bear and move right along into round one.
- 23:02Round one is our classic game of deliberation, elimination, and deception that this
- 23:07time we're calling don't be a Muppet. That's my Coffney accent. I will
- 23:12name a category related to the Muppets, and then give each of our teams
- 23:18a list of five things allegedly from that category. The twist is that only
- 23:22three of them are correct, and the other two I made up. Discuss
- 23:26and separate felt from fiction, selecting one list item at a time for a
- 23:30point. However, if you select a wrong answer, you'll be frozen out
- 23:34of the list, like when Rizzo gets frozen solid in a Muppet's Christmas,
- 23:38Carol, that's Audrey. Just reference okay, and your first category. There'll
- 23:44be a list for each team. Your first category is Muppet films, so
- 23:48this includes TV movies and one off feature length specials, but no TV series
- 23:56or shorts. Okay, and we will begin with Waka Waka Fluker. Here
- 24:00is your list of five Muppet films. Muppets from Space, Lady Gaga and
- 24:04The Muppets Holiday Spectacular, The Muppets Present, Oliver Twist, Once Upon a
- 24:11Muppet, and Kermit's Swampyrs. But those are your five, I mean Muppets
- 24:21from Space is Wait did you say these were like a television These are one
- 24:25off series? These are These are either movies or one off TV movies or
- 24:30specials. Basically anything that's sixty minutes plus. Not any short Muppet films,
- 24:36not any TV series. Okay. The only thing I'm familiar with is Mothers
- 24:41from Space. With this, I want the Lady Gaga one to exist.
- 24:44I don't know, I have this weird feeling that it does. I mean,
- 24:51didn't she do something with like some super old singer at one point too,
- 24:56Tony Bennett, Yes, you know she's done, Tony Bennett. Why
- 25:00not do Muppets too. She's worked with one Muppet. I have no idea
- 25:04who that guy is. So that any you feel confident about you want to
- 25:10cross off the list. I mean the Space One, right, that's a
- 25:12real movie. The Space One's a real movie for sure. Yeah, it
- 25:15absolutely is. There's there's a point on the board you've got, You've got
- 25:18two left to get Christ can read them again. Oh absolutely, you have
- 25:23Lady Gaga and The Muppets Holiday Spectacular, The Muppets Present, Oliver Twist,
- 25:29Wants upon a Muppet and Kermit's swamp Yrs. Okay, yeah, sorry,
- 25:37I was just gonna say I feel like that Oliver Twist one is real.
- 25:40I was literally verbat in what I was going to say, So I agree.
- 25:45See we get that walk a Walk a flock of mindset. You know
- 25:51you're you're in sync, but you're also incorrect. Yeah that's not real.
- 25:56I made that one up. I'm so sorry. This sounds real. You
- 26:00their assets are frozen? Yeah, Lady Gargar, The Muppets Holiday Spectacular absolutely
- 26:07is real. If you'd have gone with that one, that would have been
- 26:10a point. And Kermit's swampyas is the other correct answer. I was gonna
- 26:15say that wasn't real either, because I was like, isn't that Yoda?
- 26:17But right, I've seen that one, nice, nice, lovely stuff.
- 26:26And I mean, let's see if you have seen the following five, Trev.
- 26:29Because here is a list four girls gones are wild that will not stop
- 26:33making me laugh. Okay, here is your list. The Great Muppets Caper,
- 26:40Miss Piggy Presents a Night at the Palladium, The Muppet Show, Sex
- 26:45and Violence, The Muppets Wizard of Oz and Spy Muppets Secret Agent Frog.
- 26:52And we're supposed to tell you which ones are legit, which ones are legit,
- 26:55which one's A three will be real? Yeah? Okay, okay,
- 27:00paper yep, Caper is real, capa, absolutely as real as that in
- 27:04for the point, so sex and Violence is a real thing, yes,
- 27:11yes, But I don't know if this is a true question because technically it
- 27:15was like their second pilot. Oh it wasn't over sixty minutes, I think,
- 27:19so I think it was that good. Yeah, so let's let's go
- 27:26get Yeah, you want to run with that one, and then we can
- 27:27out right well that you're going with Muppet Show Sex and Violence. Yeah,
- 27:33it was a one off. Sixty minute special. I didn't know that it
- 27:36was a pilot to potentially be lead to more sex and violence. They called
- 27:41it the second Pilot. I don't know why they called it that thing.
- 27:44Yeah, you know what I have, because like I remember the Muppet Show
- 27:48being more about like it was more like adult kind of or there was laugh
- 27:52tracks so kids, and they looked at little muppets and stuff like that.
- 27:53But uh, yeah, that one was a real thing. Yeah, yeah,
- 27:56the other real one. Yeah, I don't know if I have a
- 28:00weird memory of the Wizard of Oz one or if I don't, or if
- 28:06that's like a false memory. I don't remember, if that was just a
- 28:10skit that they did, yeah, or that might be where the memory is
- 28:15coming from. Yeah, that's a problem with these things that have skits,
- 28:18is they could have done it. It just wasn't a full thing. I
- 28:22mean, you want to run with it. That's probably the only one in
- 28:26my head, like that could be, could be something. We'll try it.
- 28:29We'll go for Wizard of Oz going with Muppets Wizard of Oz. Yeah,
- 28:33three for three, it absolutely is. Yeah. Yeah, it didn't
- 28:37fall for Miss Picky Presents the Nights at the Palladium just sounds like the kind
- 28:40of thing Miss Picky would do. I think she would. And then Secret
- 28:44Agent Frog kind of a There's a video game that they released at one point
- 28:48that was like a double or seven Kermit or something like that, The Wizard
- 28:52of oz One starring as Shanty. I just learned that that. I watched
- 28:59the train there before we recorded this wild so much green screen in a Muppet
- 29:04movie. Holy shit, that does come of? It just disappear pretty much.
- 29:12I forgot about the sex and violence. I was like looking through up
- 29:17at stuff the other day and I was like, oh my gosh, I
- 29:18forgot about this. The big focus is like Sam Eagle in that one,
- 29:22like he's kind of like this, he's very proper, you know what I
- 29:25mean. And yeah, it seems to have like themes of like there's too
- 29:27much sex and violence on TV these days, so we put the Muppets are
- 29:32going to present sex and violence instead violent than Sandy Eagle. Oh yeah,
- 29:38oh yeah. And that's a meta game too hard. But that was so
- 29:42obviously real because it was so like it sounded so fick. That's that's fairy
- 29:48enough. You can't feel free to metagame the Muppets. What okay, let's
- 29:53let's have another category. This time we're talking about minor Muppet characters, the
- 30:00minor characters of the Muppet So is this a real Muppet or is it not
- 30:03a real Muppet. We're gonna go back on over to Waka Walka Fluker.
- 30:06Here is your list. Dr Julius Strange, Pork, Low Zealand, Big
- 30:12Ego, Beauregard, and Madam Tilly and I know too right off the bat
- 30:21awesome Lose Zealand, he's real. Low Zealand is indeed real. That is
- 30:26a point. Love lo Zealand. He's one of my faves. Also Beauregard,
- 30:30Yeah, yeah, Beauregard is real. Yeah, absolutely, taxi driver
- 30:34in Muppet Caper. He's kind of like generally a stage hand for them in
- 30:40quite a lot of scenarios, isn't he as well? Like, yeah,
- 30:42an assistant to the Muppet Show. Yeah, he's just kind of like the
- 30:45vague, silly kind of guy that's just off to the side, doesn't have
- 30:49a personality. What were the ones you've got? Dr Julius Strange, Pork,
- 30:56Big Ego, and Madam Tilly. Any thoughts, Dan, Oh no,
- 31:00no, I have never heard of any of these five characters ever.
- 31:04I was like, he says, Gonzo, I'll know on it. I
- 31:11don't think Big Ago is one. And I want to say that the first
- 31:15one was like some fucking like Muppet Show character. I never watched the Muppet
- 31:18Show itself. The pig, the pig one, the what is it pork
- 31:23or doctor Julius Strange Polk. Yeah, the one. I feel like that's
- 31:29the one. Listen, we're already you know, we're already like playing on
- 31:33house money. We got too, which is twice as many as we got
- 31:37last time. True, true, Yeah, let's go with it, doctor
- 31:41Julius, going with the Strange Polk. It is indeed doctor Julius Strange.
- 31:47Yeah, lovely stuff. Chris coming through the watch Man well, and he
- 31:52knows his Muppets. Yes, every time we say that it sounds like it's
- 31:56not a compliment. I'm just gonna say that. No, everything everything I
- 32:02say on this podcast is a compliment. Oh yeah, no, totally sure.
- 32:08All right. Soap Diggy was one of one of the one of like
- 32:15the nurses from that and That Soap Opera. Yes, yes, yes,
- 32:20it was the original. No, that's what we love. It's like the
- 32:24filling in the extra facts at the bottom of the screen for the freach question.
- 32:29It's great. Let's let's have a list for girls, Gonzo Wild.
- 32:31Here is your list of minor muppets, Sweetam's, Smashy Uncle, Deadly Auchi,
- 32:38Lobster Hands, and Bean Bunny. Okay, Sweetams is definitely real.
- 32:45He's one of my favorite characters. Is indeed real. Yeah, he's kind
- 32:51of the big the big toll guy. Yeah, he's like, yeah,
- 32:53this is looks like a why do you like him? Trav huh ble guy
- 32:59with a beard like funny, Uh do you have? Do you have any
- 33:07I have? I would have led us so far straight because I was like,
- 33:10sweet Ems is the candy company in Parks and rec can't be a muppet,
- 33:16So I would have led us so far a stroke. I think the
- 33:22Lobster Hands one is real, but I think they came on like later on
- 33:24in the year, so I wouldn't it just familiar to me? Yeah,
- 33:30it's the type of thing that I feel like Matt would see and put in
- 33:32a quiz where he would be like, that's great. So I'm good going
- 33:38with that one. Next, if you want, let's go for mister lobster
- 33:44hands out, she lops the hands lobster hands. No, that's a mate
- 33:46up. I'm sorry. One the other real ones were Uncle Deadly is the
- 33:53I think he's like a Comodo dragon. Muppet is often like a villain,
- 33:58and he's like look on a blue now. And bean Bunny is the little
- 34:02cute rabbit, the little, tiny, tiny little rabbit. I had no
- 34:06idea who was called bean Bunny. Is he the one that buys the goose
- 34:09in Muppets Christmas? Carol? Oh, I will know his name forever.
- 34:15You should have won one first, all right, that's my fault. Nah,
- 34:19you're good, that's okay. There is one more category left in this
- 34:22round, and that category is celebrity movie cameos. So this is only celebrities
- 34:30who appeared in one of the Muppet movies, not any other Muppet scenario.
- 34:35This needs to be a Muppet movie cameo. And we'll go back on over
- 34:38to walk a Walk a Flocker. And here is your list of five.
- 34:42Barbara streisand Quentin Tarantino, Usher Aweson Wells, and Arnold Schwartzenegger. Okay,
- 34:51again, I know two of those, all right. First one is Quentin
- 34:54Tarantino, Wizard of Oz Yep, yes, absolutely was he in the trailer?
- 34:59Yeah, he was Refresher for real though, And then Orson Wells,
- 35:07Yes, Olsen Wells is in the Muppet Movie the Original. Yes, I
- 35:12couldn't remember which one it was. I don't who is Barbara streisand Arnold Swartzenegger
- 35:17and who and Usher? And Usher? It's not Usher. I wouldn't be
- 35:23surprised if it was Usher, just like in one of the more recent movies
- 35:27that I've seen them, But I don't fucking remember anything from them. I
- 35:32guess that's what happens when you're like when you're like growing up or something,
- 35:37and you're not watching these as a kid because you watched the vhs exactly.
- 35:43Yeah, I had the physically because I didn't physically rewind these vhs. Yeah.
- 35:49Then, I mean I was thinking barbar streisand but that feels a little
- 35:53too on the nose. I don't know, And that's what I was.
- 35:55So I was thinking the same thing about Arnold Schwarzenegger. So maybe we you
- 36:00go Usher? Oh my god, I mean, why not? Right,
- 36:04let's see how Let's see how double back Matt is on on the metagaming because
- 36:08he knows he knows people metagame. Yeah, I'm aware. I'm aware.
- 36:13I think about the order of these answers for way longer than anyone should think.
- 36:19Yeah, and three in a row is too easy, Matt, God
- 36:23damn it. Yep, it's usher hell, Yes, we're from that one
- 36:29there. Yeah. Barbara Streisend recorded a duet of Rainbow Connection back in nineteen
- 36:35seventy nine, but no movie appearance, and Arnold Schwarzenegger had a few chat
- 36:38show appearances where the Muppets were also there, to the point where it's a
- 36:42weird coincidence that it happened more than once they were booked for the same show.
- 36:46Fancy. He just likes to hang with them. He doesn't want to
- 36:52be in their movies. It ruins the illusion. Yeah, Muppet Terminator or
- 36:57anyone. Okay, let's have a list of celebrities for girls, Gonzo Wilds.
- 37:02Here is your list of five. Paris Hilton, Dave Grohl, Liza
- 37:08Manelli, Martin Short, and Hulk Hogan. I feel like Paris Hilton and
- 37:16Dave Girl. I don't know why I have these instincts. Let's go with
- 37:21those. Let's go with those, We'll go in the order. I feel
- 37:23like probably Dave Grol is more likely. Yeah, so we can go for
- 37:29a Dave Grol first. Dave Grol is a correct answer. Absolutely. He
- 37:31is in the Drumm in with the Yeah, he's in the twenty eleven Muppets,
- 37:36The Jess and Seagull. Yeah. Yeah. I feel like I feel
- 37:40like I didn't see that one, but I feel like Paris Hilton would be
- 37:44in that one too, And I don't know if that's something that Matt would
- 37:46do. Let's hear the list again. Okay, you got Paris Hilton,
- 37:52Liza Manelli, Martin Short, and Hulk Hogan. Do you still want to
- 37:55stick with Paris Hilton? R Did anything else stick out to you? Just
- 37:59because I got I got one right, and in my mind I had it,
- 38:01I had it as though one of these is probably right. Yeah,
- 38:06yeah, yeah, let's go with Martin stort I just yeah, what do
- 38:12you want to do, Paris Hilton? What do you want to No,
- 38:14my instinct, even if Paris Hilton is right, I'm like, oh,
- 38:16no, Dave Grohl is right, So Paris Hilton can't be right. That's
- 38:20not a rule at all. That's something I'm inventing. But I would feel
- 38:23more comfortable going with Martin Short because of my own instinct. All right,
- 38:30going with Martin Short. I'm sorry, not Martin Short. But it's also
- 38:34not Paris Hilton either, so it doesn't matter one of those it is.
- 38:38Yes, it's Hull Hogan and Liza Menelli were the other two? Ah were
- 38:43they were? They both in the same movie. Hull Hogan was in Muppets
- 38:46from Space as one of the secret agents. Liza Menelli is herself in Muppets
- 38:52Take Manhattan in the Celebrities. I knew the whole Hogan one because I'm a
- 38:57big old Hogan thing, but not because I'm Muppins fan. It was fresh
- 39:01on the nWo stuff, and he was like he had the headband and everything.
- 39:07Yes, not a whole kogin wrestling fan, a whole coking Hogan acting
- 39:12fan. Oh yeah, suburban commandough. You know that Rocky that he's in,
- 39:19Yes, that Rocky that he's in, exactly exactly all right, that
- 39:23is the end of round one. Let's ask doctor Bunsen Honeydew to calculate the
- 39:29latest scores. He's a smart guy. No eyes, though, so why
- 39:31does he need the glasses? Okay, well, we have girls. Gonzo
- 39:37Wilder on five points, but Waka walka Fluka are in the lead with seven
- 39:42points. All right, can we quit now? Oh no, no,
- 39:47don't get me starting on cameos. Dude, if you did a gate Leabers
- 39:51on cameos, I'm look quick rivalry check in little quick alan rivalry checking how
- 39:58you found I don't let him bother me. You know, I can't take
- 40:05much ownership of our lead either, So I'll give him the good old hold.
- 40:08I'm gonna sit my hand back because this is my I'll give him the
- 40:10miss piggy karate chop that's so good, is really good, incredible And with
- 40:22that up next is round two after these words from our sponsors. Sponsors like
- 40:27Ocean Breeze Soap for people who don't want to stink, see you after this

- 41:02Fireblazers on say May twenty first Round two is a new game called casting shays
- 41:10long because casting couch sounded two gross. For like the tone that we have
- 41:15here, especially for a Muppets episode, I don't want to think about those
- 41:20two things together. So for this game, I have a list of twelve
- 41:23media properties that have not yet been adapted by the Muppets. A key hallmark
- 41:29of a Muppet movie is that only one or two characters remain unfeltified. That's
- 41:34definitely a word, and the rest are played by Muppets. So in turns,
- 41:38players will pick a number between one and twelve. Each number corresponds to
- 41:43a media property. The player that selected that number will then state which character
- 41:46will remain played by a human and cast an actor in that role. We
- 41:52will then go around the rest of the players, who will each cast a
- 41:54single Muppet into one of the other roles. Points will be awarded for small
- 42:00casting, funny answers, and muppet nonsense. So, Chris, We're gonna
- 42:04begin with you on Waka walka flocka for the sake of it being random.
- 42:07Pick a number between one and twelve. You know what, go round in
- 42:09the middle. Smack dab six. You're going for six. Okay, you
- 42:14have Pirates of the Caribbean. Oh way, who would you who would you
- 42:19like to stay human? See, I would say I would say just because
- 42:23of the character Jack Sparrow, but like, but that would also the way
- 42:29he runs that would make such a good Muppet character, just like the fucking
- 42:32like flame flailing and whatnot. So I'm gonna say, let's keep let's keep
- 42:38Elizabeth as the okay, as the human. Look, we're gonna we're keeping
- 42:44Kiera nightly and you keep it herea nightly. That's fair enough. Yeah,
- 42:46yeah, it makes sense. Absolutely, I'd like that as a as a
- 42:52risk. We'll see how it builds as the Muppet cast builds around. Waka
- 42:55Waka Flocka. Who which Muppet are you casting? Dan? Right, that's
- 43:00your name, isn't walka Waka Flaca? That's your team name. Now that's
- 43:02my new legal name. I changed. It's too good. Which Muppet are
- 43:10you casting in which role? Ship? Uh? Of course you have to
- 43:16know a Muppet, don't you know? I know some Muppets. I gotta
- 43:21no characters. I gotta know characters from Pirates of the Caribbean. That's true,
- 43:28Okay, So I know that the Orlando Bloom character is very fancy and
- 43:36handsome and all that. So maybe he should be played by like Fonsie Bear.
- 43:42Yes, Fozzy Fazzy Bear, right, different, different property, right
- 44:00for Gaizy Bird. I do like Fuzzy Bear as well, though. Yeah,
- 44:07I think that's a that's a good bit of a juxtaposition that, you
- 44:10know. It's a little irony there, you know, all right. I
- 44:14want to hear from the other side of the casting Chai's long room, Girl's
- 44:17Gone, Girl's gones a wild audre? Who are you? Who you casting?
- 44:22And which muppet? Which character you swap him for a buppet? I
- 44:24this might be controversial, but I think she would absolutely be so wonderful.
- 44:32Yes, I want Miss Piggy as Barbosa. Okay, I want her to
- 44:38because Barbosa has such a flair for the dramatic. Yes, crue. She
- 44:45can wear a cap with a big feather, that's that is true. She
- 44:47can rock there, she can eat an apple, which is funny because she's
- 44:52a pig. Pigs have apples in her mouth. Yeah, that's perfect.
- 44:55So there's just there's a lot of elements to it that I really you think
- 45:00are great. I agree completely. That's that's more good casting can we round
- 45:06things out, Trev. Have you got another character and another muppet? Yeah?
- 45:08So I was gonna do a Barbo. You're fine, You're fine.
- 45:13I like that one. I actually like I had. Let's see, I
- 45:16think if I was to cast a Jack Sparrow and given Chris was talking about
- 45:22the arms flailing Teeth has long arms that need each a person on each side
- 45:30to control them. Oh wow, So and like this is very much a
- 45:36Jack Sparrow aesthetic. I feel so doctor Yes teeth flamboyant. Yeah, Doctor
- 45:42Teeth would be Jack Sparrow. That is that is perfect. Sorry, Okay,
- 45:46casting Chase Long as a team. This is what you have come up
- 45:51with. You've come up with a muppet's adaptation of Pirates of the Caribbean,
- 45:54which you can do because Disney, you are keeping Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Swan.
- 46:00Yes, but you are casting Fuzzy as her love interest in Will and
- 46:06you have a brave casting choice of Miss Picky as Barbosa to have some uh
- 46:12pirate feuding with Doctor Teith as Jack Sparrow. I think everyone gets points there.
- 46:17I think I think I'd go see that movie at the box office.
- 46:20Yes, I like christ that was not to use the Johnny Depp character because
- 46:25I was one to keep you know, so, good job, good job.
- 46:30See. Yeah, that's that's definitely the obvious choice. And like and
- 46:32it's a very good choice for sure, to go Johnny Depp. It would
- 46:37be almost dumb to go here over Johnny Depp. Let's be for real.
- 46:43But isn't it like the man I was gonna say, isn't isn't it like?
- 46:49I don't know the Muppet movies that well, but isn't that an element
- 46:52of the Muppet films is like usually the human is like the straight man.
- 46:58Yeah, yeah, it does tend. Yeah, it's the best description of
- 47:04it that I've heard is that because the two best actors in Muppet movies,
- 47:08I think this is universally agreed upon. It's Michael Kine because he acted in
- 47:13Muppet Christmas Carol like all the Muppets were other people that he was acting alongside
- 47:17with. And Tim Curry, who did the best job in Muppet Treasure Island
- 47:22because he just was a fucking muppet. Yeah, the two ends of the
- 47:29spectrum and was closer to the Michael Caine. Yeah, smart, smart casting,
- 47:37good logic. Maybe you can use some of that going forward in terms
- 47:38of thinking who is the most straight in the pace. Sometimes that straight man
- 47:44is a straight woman. Okay, So let's start things off over on the
- 47:51Girls Gonzol wild Side this time, Oldra can you pick a number between one
- 47:54and twelve? Nine? You're going with nine, okay, simply put one
- 48:00of the most popular franchises of the last twenty years, The Avengers, Marvels,
- 48:04the Avengers. It's getting muppetified, and again we've landed on a Disney
- 48:09one. So this is all possible. Who you keeping want as a human?
- 48:15Who's a human? Who's going to stay human? Nick Fury? No,
- 48:22that's a good answer, Nick Fury's a good answer. Trying so angry
- 48:28all the time, trying to wrangle all those muppets nonsense, muffis all right,
- 48:36that's a great start with keeping Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury. Of course.
- 48:39Yes, Let's let's find out who's gonna who's gonna be joining Nick Fury,
- 48:45Trev Who which superhero would you like to replace with us? So I
- 48:50have a question if I pick, if I pick Banner slash Hulk, do
- 48:54I get two picks? You absolutely can have two picks. It's the same
- 48:59character. So you can two separate muppets. Okay, so my whole is
- 49:01going to be Sweetams. It's very much just nice. And then my banner,
- 49:08my banner, I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go with with with Benson
- 49:13Benson honey do, Doctor Benson honey do. Yes, yep, it makes
- 49:16perfect sense. He's prepacholi green of course, but you know you make up
- 49:22with it with a huge, hulking sweet ems. Yeah, good stuff,
- 49:27Okay, throwing things over it to Waka walka Fluka Dan? Who you who
- 49:30you casting? Uh? Okay, this one feels a little on the nose.
- 49:37But because I just am not I don't know enough of the muppets to
- 49:42like to do this better, I gotta go with Isn't Sam Sam the Eagle?
- 49:49Sam Eagle? He's very patriotic, right, uh huh uh huh,
- 49:52So you gotta give him Captain America? Right, Sam Eagle is America.
- 49:58I mean I feel a little like that's too obvious, but I feel like,
- 50:01also, you gotta do it. Yeah, it's like it'd be iconic,
- 50:06right, it's the American one. Everyone forget like Chris Evans, right,
- 50:10Like, who's that guy? Literally the only thing that could be more.
- 50:15This is American. It's just an eagle. Yes see, there's a
- 50:22big freaking eagle coming in even even sexier than Chris Evans as well, which
- 50:27quite that's what I'm saying, you know, Yeah, I like that Pick,
- 50:30Dan. That was a good job, all right, all right,
- 50:32yeah, all right, Chris, can you round us out with a with
- 50:37one more muppet casting for Avenges Ship. So there's there's a couple of First
- 50:44of all, Dan, that was perfect. I had the exact same thought,
- 50:47killed it. Also Tres Picks also so good. I can't remember her
- 50:53name Ship. Uh is she a muppet or a sup here? The guitarist
- 51:04in the in Doctor Teeth's band, like hippie with the long blonde hair.
- 51:09You can help your teammate, Yeah, yeah, teammate, but I love
- 51:14that. Yeah something here? Yeah, Uh, Janie is thor because she's
- 51:23like she's got the one hair. She's kind of vague and she's just like
- 51:29here for like it's just like to help out, man. That would be
- 51:32fucking great. I'm sorry, Chris Ham's worth no offense, but female janets
- 51:39and movies whenever there's like a crowd of rooms, like crowd of people talking,
- 51:45it always stops and she's the last person talking, so that actually kind
- 51:49of works. Yes, yeah, exactly. That looks for that all the
- 51:57gentle full comedy that is in those movies that every one seems to like.
- 52:01All right, well, come in soon to Disney. Plus, apparently we've
- 52:06got the Muppets Avengers featuring Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury reprising his role. He
- 52:12will be joined by doctor Doctor Bunsen, Honeydew and Sweetams, who are replacing
- 52:16that actor who Mark Ruffalo, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk. We've got cap
- 52:22being played by Sam Eagle, which makes so much sense. And rounding things
- 52:27out, we have Janis as Thor because long long blonde hair. That's why
- 52:31I would have said miss Piggy as a black widow, but that felt a
- 52:37little too easy also, so we had to had to diversify a little bit.
- 52:42Yeah yeah, yeah. Also, can I say that I picture this
- 52:44like a Muppet baby's thing, where like where you know he is like the
- 52:47adult is like you only ever see his legs and you know, and they're
- 52:52not just like baby versions of the superheroes. Yeah, that'd be so good.
- 53:00I'm gonna obviously points to everyone there. I'm I'm gonna throw out an
- 53:02extra point to Trev I think for coming up with the hack in that to
- 53:07name two muppets in one. Okay, we're gonna stay it on because they
- 53:15have a real They got a real thing instead of c G. I hope
- 53:19you know, yeah, yeah, oh yeah, we'll make this. It
- 53:21will be a bargain and not animation. Dude. Win, a muppet is
- 53:32laying without being puppeteered, we would call it inanimate, and then when it
- 53:40is moving, we would call it animate. I think yeah, I think
- 53:49listeners will be falling on both sides of all right, let's let's have two
- 53:53more of these. Let's have each of us champion one. I think this
- 53:57is a good place to go. So Dan, could you pick a number
- 54:00between one and twelve? Please? Yes, I will pick one one.
- 54:06Yeah, all right. At number one, we have the Lord of the
- 54:09Ring, but make it muppet. So Dan, who you keeping is your
- 54:15human? I'm very concerned about Chris's face and also the fact that he has
- 54:20like a Lord of the Rings sleeve. I feel like if I fuck this
- 54:23up, like I want to do a good job, Chris. I honestly
- 54:30don't think there's any wrong choices with this one, there's like, you're good,
- 54:36you got this. Don't give the game away, Chris not I hand
- 54:38out points to everyone. No, that's just how good both the Muppets and
- 54:44Lord of the Rings are. You can't go round all right? So is
- 54:49the villain ever the human? Is that ever a thing? I think?
- 54:52Yeah? I think so. Okay, I can argue you, John Long,
- 54:57John Silva. I'm going to say we're gonna keep Somon as okay,
- 55:02human keeping Christopher Lee and sorry, yes, yeah, because I was initially
- 55:07gonna say Gandalf, but again felt too easy. So now it's going to
- 55:12be a bunch of you know, muppets fighting against you know, Son and
- 55:17Soramon, right, Phil, Phil scared? I like it. I like
- 55:22that. Yeah, definitely, Sara Man the only human chining away to like
- 55:25a human felt eye, Yes, exactly. So, uh, that's that's
- 55:32what I'm going with. Oh, lovely stuff, all right, Chris.
- 55:37What you're adding on to that? Who's your muppet? I fucking love that,
- 55:39by the way, Christopher Lee with a bunch of muppets. I mean,
- 55:44he's such a badass anyway, so he fucking nailed it down. I'm
- 55:50going to knock out. I'm going to knock out Frodo. I'm going for
- 55:52the main character, and I'm gonna go with uh. I think his name
- 55:59is Junior the tim Frog. You just have a name, young, He
- 56:06does have a name, Rob little Kerrman, Robin, Robert trev God,
- 56:09it's Robin? Is it Robin? Oh? Ship? My bad? I
- 56:13need to know their names better to know but perfect though. Yeah, I'm
- 56:20thinking Robin is frod because you can both like him and and not like him
- 56:28very much like fro facts. Are we having Robin slander? Now? You
- 56:36know? Hey a song with Halfway up the Stairs? No hatred, no
- 56:43hatred. It's just that like, maybe he's a bit much sometimes I'm saying,
- 56:50Can I ask an important question here? Can the muppets be resized based
- 56:55on their race? Uh, the same way that human are when they act
- 57:00in the movies? I think, just like Peter Jackson did, it will
- 57:04be the perspective trope. I'll still use the same size puppets. But yeah,
- 57:08and you guys know, Peter Jackson made a Muppet movie, right,
- 57:10Meet the Feebles. Meet the Feebles, Yeah, Meet the I mean it's
- 57:15not official Muppets, but it's Jim Henson. No it's not Jim Henson.
- 57:22Oh it's not. It's like there off Broadway, Muppet. Yeah, sure
- 57:29much different, watch different movies than more. Okay, Girls, Guns the
- 57:38Wild, Trev. Who you adding to this cast? All right? I
- 57:44feel like having Robin as Frodo kind of screwed me up for pick we're gonna
- 57:49go? I don't know, I don't know the head elf, the head
- 57:53elf person their name? Sure? The wise one or the blonde one?
- 58:00U the one in the fellowship played in the movie mister Smith from n the
- 58:07Leader, Right. I feel like Scooter would make a good oh first Scooter
- 58:16reference on the podcast shout shouts out love it. I could see that,
- 58:23just like always seems to have like just these random high ranking roles in the
- 58:30movies. So yeah, can we just put him in all the Hugo weaving
- 58:34roles so we can also make him agents in the matrix Kiati Reeves fighting five
- 58:40hundred scooters. Okay, round us out? Who you casting? Oh?
- 58:50I am going straight down the line. No curveballs here. Miss Piggy as
- 58:54Galatrial every single day. Yeah, lovely stuff makes perfect sense. You can
- 59:01imagine her doing the violent queen scene. Oh yeah, she and Cpa.
- 59:07Oh she would absolutely kill it. Why does miss Piggy work so well in
- 59:14all of these? Like huh, I feel like all of them maybe a
- 59:19tiny bit of a stretch, but like miss Piggy is just such a solid
- 59:22pick in every single actress, right, Like, isn't that part of her
- 59:25bit? You? Right? Yeah? Anytime I haven't picked Miss Piggy,
- 59:30it's been like, oh, I can't pick because I did her in the
- 59:35first round and I did her this the middle round was intentional because I was
- 59:37like, I can't pick for every single one, but you can and you
- 59:43did. It. Works points all round again. For what is going to
- 59:47be, I'm sure a twelve hour epic, I'm sure they'll do the full
- 59:52thing. We have Sarah Man played by the late Christopher Lee reprising his role.
- 59:57We've got technology, we can do that here. Robert played by Frodo,
- 1:00:00the small little guy, makes a lot of sense that he's the Hobbit
- 1:00:04scooter Scooter playing l Rond, which I get, but now I'm just imagining
- 1:00:08all the mister Smith's well I'm picturing, but still absolutely works. And yeah,
- 1:00:14Piggy Galadriel Queen done lovely stuff. You guys are so good at casting
- 1:00:17Muppets. I wish with that one that we could have just like kept going,
- 1:00:22just like cast the whole Yeah. Yeah, yeah, let's just like
- 1:00:27cut recording and let's just the last thing Edione wants this podcast to be is
- 1:00:34longer. Okay, we're going to do one final casting chaise long, Trev,
- 1:00:40would you like to pick a number between one and twelve? Three?
- 1:00:44Oh, good grief. I put this one in as a joke, and
- 1:00:46I didn't I was hoping no one would put the JFK assassination well, I
- 1:00:55know who Miss Piggy is actual? Yes, so we'll say it's a kind
- 1:01:00of like a drama drama series like a watch what you call those series that
- 1:01:05are factual? Yeah, like a doctor drama like a yeah, like a
- 1:01:10very Muppets have taken a different tone. Okay, yes, so so,
- 1:01:15Trev, who who in the the breadth of the JFK assassination that that chapter
- 1:01:22of American history? Are you keeping as the human JFK lovely stuff? No
- 1:01:30one wants to see a muppets head explodes. Yeah, exactly. I don't
- 1:01:34want to hurt any muppets, you know. Once that's true, that's true.
- 1:01:40JFK played by JFK. I like it, okay, and Audra,
- 1:01:46you have the honor of naming your first Muppet. I'm not gonna pick miss
- 1:01:52Piggy, but because I thought of something funnier, I want Beaker to be
- 1:01:58Lee Harvey Os. I'm on bold, Yeah, I follow ups. I
- 1:02:08will not be taking further questions, all right, I see it? Uh
- 1:02:15ten out of ten? Okay, throwing things Ova, so walk a walk
- 1:02:20of flakka, Chris, who are you throwing in a Muppet roll here?
- 1:02:24Well, you know, you know, you know what fuck it. I'm
- 1:02:30gonna say, Rolf as the driver, Ralf the dog is driving. Yeah,
- 1:02:38that was a solid look at it makes sense. He's a he's a
- 1:02:43chauffeur. Sometimes it just works, you know. I don't make the rules.
- 1:02:49He may be a piano player. He he moonlights as a piano player.
- 1:02:52But yeah, we'll get sorry, yeah exactly, they'll explore an episode
- 1:02:58four Dan round us out. So surely a few more players here. This
- 1:03:04is like a little bit broader, not the actual event, right, but
- 1:03:07so his vice president was Lyndon Johnson, right, m hmm. Can we
- 1:03:13cast animal as Lyndon Johnson? We can, and we do one. I
- 1:03:22just feel like he would really just really you know, invest himself in that
- 1:03:28role and it would give the right level of like insanity to like all of
- 1:03:32what happened. Yeah, crisis manager exactly, exactly. Oh my goodness.
- 1:03:38All right, I'm going to run this one down very fast in case I
- 1:03:43get deported for coming up this. So JFK remains JFK played by JFK.
- 1:03:49Let's bring him back. Lee. Harvey Oswald the the perpetrator allegedly depending on
- 1:03:55whose story you believe. He's played by Baker because of is Rolf is the
- 1:04:00driver. Nothing needs to be said about that, It just makes sense.
- 1:04:03And the vice president soon to be President, Lyndon B. Johnson is played
- 1:04:10by Animal. Yeah. I think I think this goes without saying. But
- 1:04:15but obviously miss Piggy is Jackie. Yeah. I wanted to say that at
- 1:04:20first, but I felt like it's already that's a given, you know,
- 1:04:25like that's absolutely I like him feeling for Miss Piggy right now, Like I'm
- 1:04:31so sad for her in a way I never really great action. Oh no,
- 1:04:39her in her en roll right as Jackie, I'm just like her,
- 1:04:43like falling over her dead husband with you know, oh yeah, it just
- 1:04:47but even the blood coming from JFK can be felt as well. To keep
- 1:04:51yes, yeah, to keep this twelve part gritty HBO series kid friendly.
- 1:04:57Yeah, and I also feel like Animal has a press president would do better
- 1:05:00than the last couple presidents we've had to deal with. So yeah, yeah,
- 1:05:03for sure I'd vote for Animal. Yeah yeah, Animal. That is
- 1:05:12the end of the round. Let's ask the Swedish chef to calculate the latest
- 1:05:15scores. His xenophobic accent is why I'll never be able to respect anyone from
- 1:05:19Sweden. Okay, we have girls Gones are Wild are on fourteen points.
- 1:05:28They're catching up on Waka Waka Flakka, who are on fifteen points. All
- 1:05:31right, okay, Round three next, I can skip the commercials for you
- 1:05:35if you pass me the remote. The goat the remote. Oh sorry,
- 1:05:44I all right, We'll be back. Round three is our game that looks
- 1:05:55at the weird and the wonderful from the world of merchandising, and it's called
- 1:05:59merched. In this game, our teams will each have a list of muppets
- 1:06:02merchandise where they must guess if the next item is listed for higher or lower
- 1:06:08than the previous item in the list. But we're not talking r RP.
- 1:06:12That would be too logical. No, our two lists are from Etsy dot
- 1:06:15com and Facebook Marketplace genuine items for sale. I'll read the listings for beatim.
- 1:06:21You're just trying to guess the average asking price of your fellow humans.
- 1:06:27This is the game where you, guys, did you did this on Twilight?
- 1:06:30Right? And there was like a Twilight dildo or something? Not quite
- 1:06:36got the Muppet still well, too difficult to clean, too much felt you
- 1:06:46need to need to hand other hands to make it work. Okay, So,
- 1:06:55girls, gones are wild as you are just a little bit behind.
- 1:06:59I will you have the choice. Would you like the Etsy list or the
- 1:07:01Facebook marketplace list? I don't you feel most confident they're both wild? I
- 1:07:09would probably say Etsy because I shop on Etsy more than I shop on Facebook
- 1:07:13Marketplace. Let's go Etsy. Let's lock in for the Etsy list. Your
- 1:07:16first item, which you're just gonna throw out, how much you think it's
- 1:07:19listed for. I'll give you points based on how close you get to it,
- 1:07:23and from there we'll just go higher or lower. So your first item
- 1:07:27The Muppet movie nineteen seventy nine original movie poster, some creases unframed, some
- 1:07:32creases. I don't so how much would how much would you pay for the
- 1:07:39Muppet Movie nineteen seventy nine original movie poster? Some creases unframed to me,
- 1:07:45that's priceless for the purpose of Etsy. Twenty five. Yeah, I can
- 1:07:50go with that. I can go I can get down with that. I
- 1:07:53would think fifteen would be fair, But on Etsy, we'll say twenty five
- 1:07:57thirty around there, all right, Yes, that kind of thinking will help
- 1:08:00you with the Etsy list. But it's actually way higher than twenty five.
- 1:08:04It's one hundred and twenty five, one hundred and twenty five dollars. Original
- 1:08:10movie poster, some creases. Imagine if there were minimal creases three hundred,
- 1:08:16you wouldn't sell it. It would give it into this priceless all right,
- 1:08:21So your your number is one hundred and twenty five dollars. So we're going
- 1:08:25higher, lwer than that set of three Muppet Christmas Carol Halloween yard decorations four
- 1:08:30feet tall, sturdy, rigid PVC. It's going to be higher, right,
- 1:08:35because there's four. You have to guess the number. You don't have
- 1:08:39to guess the number with that, it's going to be just higher or lower.
- 1:08:41It's going to be higher. I'd say higher war four four feet tall
- 1:08:45feet yeah, higher higher. If these are not higher, this is a
- 1:08:50bargain. It is indeed higher, it's higher. It's high. It's three
- 1:08:56hundred and twenty five. Give me that link if they're onunder one twenty five.
- 1:09:01Yeah, all right, you're three hundred and twenty five dollars? Is
- 1:09:06your number? Here is your next item? Doctor teeth plush replica, full
- 1:09:11size doll. Not a puppet. It says that in all caps. Yeah,
- 1:09:15so it's not a puppets, just full size, full size, full
- 1:09:20size. Higher. I still would say higher. You're saying higher, it's
- 1:09:26going to be high. I mean it depends on the craftsmanship. If it's
- 1:09:29well crafted. Higher, and I think that we're going to know how well
- 1:09:33crafted is whether it is higher or lower. I would let's go higher,
- 1:09:39full size. I want to go higher full size. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:09:42yeah, Trev's got some knowledge here from muppets on the secondhand market. Maybe
- 1:09:45it's it's it is higher. It's three hundred and seventy five dollars. You
- 1:09:50would have gues want to share that link real quick, I want to drop
- 1:09:56the link in the chat. They looked they looked really well made. To
- 1:09:59be fair, if you've if you've got the money and that's what you want,
- 1:10:01it's uh, they looked pretty well made. That's cool. So three
- 1:10:04hundred and seventy five is your number. Here is your next item. Beaker
- 1:10:09Giants Cosplay costume head massive. What it does say massive like a massive head,
- 1:10:17but then it could be like I can't yeah, I can't show you
- 1:10:20pictures as part of the round, but I will say it was way bigger
- 1:10:24than your head track. They're saying massive, but it is just the head.
- 1:10:30Yes, so I've seen there actually is photographic evidence of me holding someone
- 1:10:36up wearing a Beaker head. I wish I could find it, and I
- 1:10:41had my glasses on, so I look like a ridiculous Benson. Honeydew.
- 1:10:46Can you read the list? You got to go off of what there's like,
- 1:10:49how they're righting? Yeah, yeah, yeah, how are they wording
- 1:10:54this beak a giant cosplay costume head massive and this is handmade? Was on
- 1:11:00Etsy? Right? So yeah, something on Etsy are handmade. Some of
- 1:11:03them are not. I think based on what it is, I don't think
- 1:11:06that this is I think this has got to be a handmade item. My
- 1:11:11instinct says lower, because if you're gonna buy a costume costplay Benson head massive,
- 1:11:19if you're going to buy that and you're going to spend more than three
- 1:11:21hundred and seventy five dollars, I'd make it Benson. I think for like
- 1:11:28two speaker Baker. This changes everything. I just want to make that right.
- 1:11:34Yeah, but I'm going to make it myself for two hundred dollars and
- 1:11:39eighty hours of my life. So you want to go lower? Where that's
- 1:11:45my instinct? Seven three seven five? Yeah, yeah, but let's go.
- 1:11:53I'm going to I'm going to follow you on this one. I think
- 1:11:55lower. Okay, my apologies if I'm wrong, that's all. But let's
- 1:11:58find out. Yeah, going lower. Yeah, it is lower. It's
- 1:12:01one hundred and forty five dollars and thirty seven cents. Very specific. That
- 1:12:08must be a cheap looking head. It didn't. It didn't look as good
- 1:12:13as the doctor taste. I'll say that. Okay, you're at one hundred
- 1:12:16and forty five thirty seven. Here's your next item, Statler and Waldorf Muppet
- 1:12:20door knockers lower. Oh wait where are we at one forty five thirty five?
- 1:12:26Is what it was? One forty five thirty seven. We've got to
- 1:12:29get that two cents, right, I think lower their door knockers, Yeah,
- 1:12:33yeah, Oh I do want to these these, I genuinely do want
- 1:12:36to look at you. Go you're going lower, let's go lower. This
- 1:12:41one's higher, but only just it's one hundred and fifty dollars for the pair.
- 1:12:45Oh, seventy five bucks, apop. Anybody want to split? Oh
- 1:12:49okay, that's what everyone. I thought you were going to go up to,
- 1:12:56like thirty eight cents. Thirty seven cents. That would be so cruel
- 1:13:04if it was listed like that, I mean, that would mean too good
- 1:13:08to be true. Okay, your final one. And maybe this is a
- 1:13:12bit of Facebook marketplace leaking into Etsy here, but this listing was too good
- 1:13:17to pass up. So your number is one hundred and fifty dollars. Here
- 1:13:20is your final item. Cassio EP ten and EP twenty, set of two
- 1:13:26Muppet keyboards, brackets, dirty keys, dirty key, dirty keys, dirty
- 1:13:32two cass some pretty pretty dirty keys two So two Cassio Muppet keyboards. Vintage
- 1:13:43toys. Vintage toys. Yes, this is a tricky one. Where are
- 1:13:50we at for price? We're at one, you're at one fifty. I'm
- 1:13:57going to go high. I think I don't know. I think it's going
- 1:13:59to be wrong. Yeah, vintage like vintage toys and like those kids vintage.
- 1:14:06It's dirty like vintage and muppets. I feel like there is a higher
- 1:14:12possibility here, saying higher. Yeah, it is higher. It is three
- 1:14:15hundred dollars for these dirty keys. Not only is it higher than one fifty
- 1:14:20for both of them, it is one fifty each. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:14:25it's uh yeah, I mean you can. I'll send you the links if
- 1:14:28you want them, if you want those dirty Cassio key boats, but that
- 1:14:30one I'll pass. All right, good stuff. I think you got most
- 1:14:33of those right there. I think you got like four out of five of
- 1:14:38the Highers and Highers and lowers that ask. Good stuff. What do you
- 1:14:40mean you think, Matt? You need to know you're the game? Oh
- 1:14:43yeah, well I written I've written it to Okay. That's what it's like.
- 1:14:46This game is too close for you to be Whenever I'm on, Dan's
- 1:14:51the villain, but look it's really him. He's the one. It all
- 1:15:00comes to light, all right, walka waka flakka. Here is your list
- 1:15:04from Facebook Marketplace. You're happy with that, You're happy to have Facebook marketplace.
- 1:15:08I feel like it's so weird. That's a weird space. Weird in
- 1:15:12a very different way from Etsy. I'm more of an Etsy girl. But
- 1:15:15it's fine, Like this is gonna be like moms or like Grandma's. Yeah,
- 1:15:23certainly the prices are not going to get as high. So's let's start
- 1:15:28with your first item. Make a guess. If you're roughly close, i'll
- 1:15:30give you points. Comit the Frog nineteen ninety one. Pez Dispenser used,
- 1:15:35how used we talking again? Dirty key? The fact that somebody posted this
- 1:15:42and didn't just throw it away in the case they think it has value,
- 1:15:48Pas Dispenser. People look no hate, but they're intense. Yeah, that's
- 1:15:54all I'll say. It's true. It's like used, did they put their
- 1:15:59mouth on it? Like? What were they making out with it? You
- 1:16:01know, getting the peas out, you know, exactly getting all of I've
- 1:16:05got to I've got to kiss Kermie in order to no man, what do
- 1:16:13you think of Dan Oh Jesus Christ? Like thirty? Yeah? I was
- 1:16:17gonna say like ten, but uh I don't know, maybe thirty. Like
- 1:16:23we get split the difference, we can go twenty twenty. Yeah, why
- 1:16:27not you go in twenty. I'm I'm glad you split the difference so I
- 1:16:30don't have to give you points, because I might have had to if you'd
- 1:16:31have gone with Dan's ten. It's it's eight dollars is the answer, and
- 1:16:36I don't want to give us points. Matt, what's that about? The
- 1:16:40main reason is because I left when Chris said thirty. Oh yeah, someone
- 1:16:43would thirty dollars for a Pez dispace. Hey, hey, that's what I
- 1:16:46mean. Pez dispenser people are intense. Okay, true, they were the
- 1:16:50fun call people of the twentieth century. I understand. But Dan was absolutely
- 1:16:56right on that one. I'm so sorry I fucked you Olver. That's okay,
- 1:17:00five five items to work through. That was a dagger to my heart.
- 1:17:05So eight dollars is your number? Is this next item? Higher or
- 1:17:10lower? Four sealed DVDs of The Muppets Christmas Carol. That's all the same
- 1:17:16movie, four copies, same less saled but sealed too close to home from
- 1:17:25a house that gets of multiple DVDs. You know, yeah, I get
- 1:17:30it. Yep. Probably lower Oh really you thinking? I don't know,
- 1:17:32what were you thinking? You were right the last time, so I'll let
- 1:17:35you well, I don't know. I just feel like they're sealed, which
- 1:17:39makes it again feel like somebody thinks that these have value, right or else
- 1:17:43why would they tell us they're sealed? So if they want five bucks apiece
- 1:17:46for him, that puts us at twenty bucks absolutely great points. I'm gonna
- 1:17:51say, I'm gonna guess higher. You are right with that? Yep?
- 1:17:56Yeah right, going higher? It's not it's lower. We're way off,
- 1:18:00Craig. Yeah, weird. You can pick up four sealed copies of the
- 1:18:05Muppets Christmas Carol on DVD for three dollars. Send me send me that Facebook
- 1:18:13market Place can suck my dick. Okay, I think that's one of the
- 1:18:16things that you can offer on Facebook markets higher or lower? Three dollars?
- 1:18:25Surprisingly lower? How about for those four sealed DVDs? Eve? The new
- 1:18:36Craigs list is Facebook Marketplace always has been. Okay, the next item in
- 1:18:44the list, So where are we at now? Three dollars? You're at
- 1:18:46three dollars. So if you feel like you've done badly so far, maybe
- 1:18:49there's only one direction this could go. But the Muppet Swedish Chef action figure
- 1:18:56with accessories, I mean that's priceless. It's gotta be higher, right,
- 1:19:01many lower than three dollars? Like who's going on Facebook and going, you
- 1:19:05know what? I should sell something for two dollars. That will definitely be
- 1:19:09worth the time it took me to post this. You see, you're saying
- 1:19:15higher than higher than three for this. I agree it is. We're going
- 1:19:19to I knew there was only way one way this one could go, So
- 1:19:23we're going all the way up to forty dollars okay, okay, honestly free
- 1:19:29if it was free? Yeah, yeah, do you have free listings on
- 1:19:33here? No? That would there'd be an interesting game, wouldn't it if
- 1:19:38we just played it with all free list things. Is it high? Is
- 1:19:40it higher or lower? Guess what? It's free? Yeah, you have
- 1:19:44to tell us if it's free. That's the law, just like if you're
- 1:19:47a cop, tell us that's all right. So, yeah, you're at
- 1:19:51forty dollars for that Swedish Chef action figure. So is this next item higher
- 1:19:57or lower than? Forty? Sigma Taste se to miss Piggy Face head mugs
- 1:20:02set of two. You just said a bunch of words like that wasn't a
- 1:20:08thing. This is how it's listed. So someone was drunk and decided to
- 1:20:12post their shit on Facebook, Miss piggy Face head Mugs something about stigma.
- 1:20:19Yeah, see fifteen dollars a piece is what is. What comes is what
- 1:20:25shoots out to me of what a reasonable person would say for that or would
- 1:20:30request for this, and even that reasonable is a very generous word. What
- 1:20:38do you What do you think? So you're thinking lower, I'm thinking lower.
- 1:20:42I am also leaning toward lower. We're probably wrong, but it feels
- 1:20:45like that should be lower. It should If anything, even if we're wrong,
- 1:20:50it should be lower. We're stand on principle and say that's what it
- 1:20:57should be. I respect you staying with your principle. It is lower.
- 1:21:01Yeah, it is twenty dollars is what this is listed as? All right?
- 1:21:05Thank god? Yeah, I looked it up. Sigma Taste Setter is
- 1:21:10like a brand that makes shaped plates and cups and mugs and trays and whatnot.
- 1:21:18I look that up. Okay, is that what all the Sigma males
- 1:21:21are into? Is that what they've been they've been trying all the taste the
- 1:21:25taste set of things. That's what they talk about. It's piggy vases,
- 1:21:28got yeah, got yeah. I always wondered what they were about. Turns
- 1:21:30out they collect porcelain these much to become a sigma hell yeah, yeah,
- 1:21:36So you're a you're at twenty dollars at the moment. Here is your next
- 1:21:40item. Toy nineteen nineties vintage toy. Muppets see and say toy. Oh
- 1:21:45see, and say, is that the spinny thing? So I think that's
- 1:21:50what it is. Yeah, I think you're right, and what you're what
- 1:21:54you're did it say it gives a decade? It says nineteen nineties, vintage,
- 1:22:00vintage the nineties. Yeah, they didn't write the word vintage in there,
- 1:22:04though they did. They did. We've got toy toy nineties. It
- 1:22:08was it's hard to tell because they've written toy so many times. Toy.
- 1:22:12It's a toy. Toy nineteen nineties vintage toy. Muppit see and say toy.
- 1:22:16They want to make sure that we know it's not the actual one.
- 1:22:18It's the toy one. Yes, because they don't want anyone thinking they're getting
- 1:22:23a serious c and say this is the toy. Sence they said vintage,
- 1:22:30which makes me feel like they think that it's like collectible. Yeah, more
- 1:22:38than twenty dollars. Yeah, we we go in higher. I don't know
- 1:22:43how what's your feeling? You see? Fuck, cns can go anywhere between
- 1:22:48five cents and sale. You know what I mean is, though, is
- 1:22:55the goddamn wild West. I don't understand. None of this makes sense to
- 1:22:59me. Yeah, it's a wild world. Fuck you guys forget taking Etsy
- 1:23:02first of all, I know, sorry, because everything on Etsy they think
- 1:23:06is valuable. Yeah, whereas like aunt may we'll just go on to Facebook
- 1:23:13and just post dirty socks for fifty cents. You know, pisses off Spider
- 1:23:17Man exactly. I can't have people coming to our house all the time.
- 1:23:26If you're gonna leave these socks around. Peter, I'm gonna sell them on
- 1:23:29Facebook. He's like, no, sell them on Etsy. They can say
- 1:23:33that vintage if we if we don't know where to go, I do have
- 1:23:38a coin we could flip for it. Well why not? Why not?
- 1:23:41Let's do it all? Right? Heads or tails? U higher or lower?
- 1:23:45Heads? Heads higher? Right? Yeah? Yeah, I'm not even
- 1:23:49on your team, but I was like, heads is higher. That feels
- 1:23:53right, it's higher, all right, you're saying higher than twenty You've left
- 1:23:56it the coin. The coin is not let you down. It's the rash
- 1:24:00Yes, witter coin some D and D dice shouts out to Siri love this
- 1:24:10stuff. Also coin to your witcher. Yeah, okay, your final item,
- 1:24:15thirty dollars is your number, the final item in your list talking and
- 1:24:20singing. Elmo no longer responds to tickling or squeezing, no face, no
- 1:24:30skin. Have you ever seen the videos of the of the tickle me elmos
- 1:24:39with no fur drink? Oh? Don't look those up unless you want to
- 1:24:43have nightmares. Oh gosh, I watched how it's made with like baby dogs.
- 1:24:51That was terrificed. Really scary yet yeah, oh gosh. Also like,
- 1:24:57did they say no longer response, Yes, because they don't say it
- 1:25:02no longer feels it just no longer has any responses for you. It's a
- 1:25:09terrifying wilting. It's got to be lower, right, If it's no longer
- 1:25:13works anymore. The audicity of posting this makes you. That's the only thing
- 1:25:18that gives me pause. I mean, it's got to be lower. It's
- 1:25:24gotta be again. We're going to stand on principle here, right, we're
- 1:25:26going lower. All right, you're staying lower than thirty. It is lower
- 1:25:30than thirty. But someone is still selling this for twenty five dollars. That
- 1:25:33person needs to be on a watch list. So talks. It just doesn't
- 1:25:42respond to you like it talks about it exactly. Yeah, that's what it
- 1:25:45seems like. It talks. It's safe. Probably paid twenty five for that
- 1:25:48just to put it in someone's house and just too Yeah, it needs to
- 1:25:54go in a box like Annabelle. You know, do not break box.
- 1:25:59I mean you guys or family, you could do that to each other.
- 1:26:00I'm just saying, yeah, oh do you just wait, trev I'll be
- 1:26:04in your neighborhood tomorrow. I'm forgiving your keys. You're not getting any keys.
- 1:26:09Yeah, alright, that is the end of round three. Let's ask
- 1:26:15the count to calculate the latest scores. Wait a second, he's he's not
- 1:26:18a Capital M muppet. He's from Sesame Street. Get him out of here.
- 1:26:23The scores pretty much unchanged there. I think you both did equally well
- 1:26:27in your lists. We now have Girls guns a Wild on eighteen points and
- 1:26:31Waka Waka Flocka on nineteen points right, but everything can change in the quick
- 1:26:38fire around. Hate the quick fire around. It's all chaos. We're saying,
- 1:26:42really gonez a wild this next round because I'm so bad at buzzing in?
- 1:26:48Can I just like I did a shirt lift motion for anyone listening,
- 1:26:56it'll probably get my attention. That's you can lift your top up as well,
- 1:27:03Chris, Now, okay, but before we get to the quick fire
- 1:27:11around, let's talk prizes. This episode star prize. It's the concept of
- 1:27:15dreaming. Jim Henson was a big believer in dreaming, but he was awake
- 1:27:18when he made the Muppets, so basically, just stay awake. But our
- 1:27:23winning team will also receive talking and singing Elmo no longer response to tickle up.
- 1:27:30Next is our crucial quick fire around. But sometimes you have to give
- 1:27:34in to corporations in order to fund the creative thing you enjoy doing. And
- 1:27:40with that is our final set of ads. Our final quick fire around will
- 1:27:49test your broader pop culture knowledge and it's called why is your hand up my
- 1:27:54ass? In this game, I will give our players clues to a puppet
- 1:27:59from pop culture history, not muppets, just puppets, exclusively non muppet X.
- 1:28:06There may be one or two other Henson in there, but not Muppet.
- 1:28:13Okay, iconically, I'll say I'll say that much. I'll give you
- 1:28:16clues to those puppets in the style of Kermit introducing them as a guest on
- 1:28:20The Muppet Show. Hello everybody, we got a great guest for you tonight.
- 1:28:25Hello Everybody'll that'll do well? Yeah, that's all right, I like
- 1:28:29it. Thank you. Oh and there's of course the classic gate Leapers twist.
- 1:28:31You need you need to say waka waka after you name your puppets.
- 1:28:35If you don't say waka waka after the correct answer, I cannot give you
- 1:28:40the points. So we had to say waka waka before and after, right,
- 1:28:44What if we just yeah, you know what? Yeah. I didn't
- 1:28:48even think about that as in relation to this, because I wrote this three
- 1:28:51days ago. We say slacker buzz in and then and it with waka waka.
- 1:28:59I love it. It's gonna sound like poetry, I reckon. So
- 1:29:05it's quick fire you buzz in by yelling out your team name. Let's practice
- 1:29:09that now, Ganza Flucker. Yeah, we say Gonzo, yeah Flacker versus
- 1:29:15Gonzo. Yeah, that'll do. That'll do? And here's an example.
- 1:29:19Hell, everybody, we got a great guest for you tonight. Strings can't
- 1:29:23hold this guy down. He'll grow six inches and show you he's a Yes,
- 1:29:28Chris Pinocchio Walker Walker, one hundred percent. That's exactly how you do
- 1:29:32it. You don't need to do it in the muffet voice like I am.
- 1:29:34But if you, if you join in, I'll feel less alone.
- 1:29:39That'd be super sick. No, you can interrupt me at any point,
- 1:29:48but I will start the tim Let's go. Hell, everybody, our guest
- 1:29:51tonight is a Jedi master. He's green. I think that's gonna be Flaker.
- 1:29:58I think it's gonna be Danne with Flucker Yoda. It is indeed Yoda.
- 1:30:01That is a point. That's a Henson guy, right, Yeah,
- 1:30:04yeah, that's that might be the that might be the only Henson. Hell,
- 1:30:08everybody, our guest for you tonight is a real killer. But don't
- 1:30:12let this doll fool you. He started. Yes, I think I think
- 1:30:15that's going to be Dan again, although I do worry that Trev might have
- 1:30:19some lag compared to everyone else, so I will account for that. But
- 1:30:24it's probably Dan still on this one. It was Dan on this wa waka.
- 1:30:29It is Chucky. It absolutely is Chucky. Who. Hell, everybody,
- 1:30:32our guest tonight is an alien from the planet Melmac. He's been referenced
- 1:30:38so much. Yes, trev Alf waca waka, it is indeed Alf wacka
- 1:30:45waka. Good stuff. It's a man in a costume, but that's okay.
- 1:30:49Hell, everybody, our guest for you tonight is a bit of a
- 1:30:53puzzle. He likes riding tricycles, but also watching people die. I think
- 1:30:58ask going to be trev Uh Billy from Saw. It was his name Billy,
- 1:31:03right, Billy, his name Billy. I said, I'm so sorry.
- 1:31:13I don't think you said wackawaka in time. I've gotta I've got to
- 1:31:15be pedantic and say that, say that I didn't. But that's the correct
- 1:31:18answer has been said. So I'm going to move on to the next day.
- 1:31:21That was I wasn't thinking. No, there are so many things.
- 1:31:28It's because I'm a dick. Hello, everybody, our guest tonight is the
- 1:31:31original TV puppet. You couldn't move for this guy on TV in the nineteen
- 1:31:35fifties, and his name literally means hello. So without further ado, it's
- 1:31:44come on, Americans, flaka. Yes, Dan, we don't lose points
- 1:31:48for this, right if I no, no, no, no, Howdy
- 1:31:51Dudy waka waka it is indeed, how do yes? Oh shit, there
- 1:31:59we go. Hell, everybody, our guest tonight took Springfield by storm.
- 1:32:04He's so funny. He put Krusty the clown out of the job. He's
- 1:32:09had enough of you. Little s O b s. It's yes, Chris
- 1:32:14Sideshow Bob walka waka. It's not side show Bob. Not a puppet.
- 1:32:19Not a puppet. Oh puppet from the Simpsons is Oh shit, No,
- 1:32:28We're gonna pass pass on this one. It's Gabbo Gabo from the Simpsons.
- 1:32:35Okay, but the Simpsons are animated, so they're puppets. Right. I
- 1:32:43hate you so much. Hell, everybody, our guest tonight is sure to
- 1:32:48give you goose bumps. Just make sure you don't say the words Kau Mario,
- 1:32:53Dona, Loma, Malunu, Kurahu. Oh god, he's here,
- 1:32:57is he? Yes? Dan? Oh ship, I hope this is right.
- 1:33:01Uh. Slappy waka waka It is indeed Slappy the dummy from Dooce Bumps.
- 1:33:09Good stuff. I don't know puppets for the puppet I just didn't know
- 1:33:15the name. Goosebumps is a little you know, a little too uh.
- 1:33:17I have to hide that book from my kids. It's too scary. Hell,
- 1:33:23Everybody, our guest tonight is an Australian stand up comedian whose latest special,
- 1:33:27felt Topia, is streaming now on YouTube. Maybe you saw his thumbnail
- 1:33:31thanks to S E O S while researching this very episode that you're on right
- 1:33:35now. No, no one else got it? Yes, Chris, something
- 1:33:42about Jeff Dunham waka waka. It's not anything to do with Jeff Dunham.
- 1:33:48I forgot he existed. You're not wrong forgetting Gonzo. Yes, so does
- 1:33:57Nick Mohammad WakaWaka do anything with puppet He doesn't. But I get what you're
- 1:34:01going for the He is quite a muppet like like character. No, this
- 1:34:05is Randy. Feltface is a has been going as a stand up comedian for
- 1:34:11the last fifteen twenty years. I slowly forgot about felt Face. All right,
- 1:34:15we got three more of these to go. Let's see it goes.
- 1:34:16Hell, are everybody our guests tonight are the original Puppet show characters. Let's
- 1:34:21hope a crocodile doesn't steal their sausages. Or whatever happens in their sixteenth century
- 1:34:27fair ground side shoe. It's waka or flaka, Yes, Dn, Marionettes
- 1:34:34walka waka? Is I appreciate the guests? It's not Marionette's Okay, I
- 1:34:41think I don't know what the name is. I'll just gonzo. Is it?
- 1:34:45The ones that are in a Santa Claus but they're in the background,
- 1:34:47but they're based on other puppets and they like hit each other. It names
- 1:34:57mind is so fucking just say it. Ted, It's not that I knew
- 1:35:02that. And Jojo isn't that at all? They're like a group mon pap
- 1:35:13Yeah. On this one as well, it's Punch and Judy, Punch and
- 1:35:18Judy. It was right there. I was like so close to that.
- 1:35:25They're just getting more obscure as well. Let's just see, let's fucking go.
- 1:35:28Hell, everybody, our guest tonight is spending some time away from the
- 1:35:30hand of mister Garrison. He's a hand puppet who acts as a pejorative satire.
- 1:35:36Yes, Chris, is it mister hand waka waka is indeed? Yes,
- 1:35:43Hell, everybody. Our guests tonight are a trio of surreal performers.
- 1:35:47Their roommates. It's weird. Don't hug me, I'm scared. It's oh,
- 1:35:53I don't know what they're I don't know their name either, could you
- 1:35:56if you describe them? You know, downe buzzday and I'm sorry uldra Oh,
- 1:36:00I don't know. I was just gonna say, don't hug me,
- 1:36:03I'm scared. Walk gonzo. Yes, there's the big really tall, like
- 1:36:11all red guy with the brown and then guys. There's the one and he's
- 1:36:15yellow and he has the blue stringy hair, yellow guy, and then there's
- 1:36:19I think there's a little one, and there's the little guy, green and
- 1:36:23green guy. Yes, red guy, yellow guy and green guy. Don't
- 1:36:26hug me, I'm scared. Good stuff. No points, no points.
- 1:36:33Sure, I'm sorry you didn't. You didn't say waka walka. I'm like,
- 1:36:38okay, quick before the buzzut so we can get to the finals.
- 1:36:43Hell, everybody, our guest tonight is from a street close to the heart
- 1:36:45of Jim Henson's studios. They're a muppet with a lower case M, but
- 1:36:49they're the me of sesame. Nobody tickle him. It's I think that was
- 1:36:57christ first, it was uh Elmo. Waka waka it is indeed Almo to
- 1:37:03round it out. Yeah, rocked, We absolutely got rocked. Those were
- 1:37:12obscure off. What threw me off was my lag on the first one.
- 1:37:16The first one I knew I beat Dan. But yeah, I think the
- 1:37:21tape will absolve you, Trev. I absolutely think it. I think that
- 1:37:27you said that before, but ultimately it may not have affected the final But
- 1:37:30before we get to the final scores, I'd like to thank all of our
- 1:37:33players. You've all been like a movie write your own ending, keep believing,
- 1:37:38keep pretending, all that good stuff. Dan, you are the host
- 1:37:42of the movie seller. Of course, what have you got going on to
- 1:37:44the mom You've got the ten at ten series. That's a fantastic series.
- 1:37:46Yeah. Yeah, So we're doing a couple different things, are you know.
- 1:37:49Primary thing is our free Fridays where every fresh we just bang out short
- 1:37:55episodes of free content that you can watch on things like to Be Your where
- 1:38:00you don't have to pay any kind of you know, fees, And then
- 1:38:04I mentioned shows like the like this great show that people can listen to for
- 1:38:10free on streaming platforms over the weekend. We also do ten at ten where
- 1:38:15we bring guests on and we have them answer a ten question survey on the
- 1:38:19types of movies that they like, not a quiz, just you know what
- 1:38:23you're into. So yeah, we're doing that too. If anybody wants to
- 1:38:27join, please hit me up. We're on Instagram and Facebook at the movie
- 1:38:30Seller. Nice. Nice. I'll put links to those in the in the
- 1:38:33show notes. Do check out The Movie Seller. Ten at ten is a
- 1:38:36fantastic series. I love podcasts with a famat. Well. We've just lived
- 1:38:41this, so I love what There's a little bit of structure there and you
- 1:38:44can kind of follow along and stuff. Yeah, it's good stuff. I
- 1:38:46like it too. I also like that I don't have to do any of
- 1:38:48the work. I leave it up to my guests to do all the work.
- 1:38:50Yes, yeah, it's a good strategy. Should it should? I
- 1:38:55got you guys to write all these questions. Trev, thanks so much for
- 1:39:00playing with us for the first time. Man, you're a fantastic guess.
- 1:39:02Thank you. This was awesome. I hope I get to come back some
- 1:39:04day. Oh that'd be brilliant. So we can hear some more different muppets
- 1:39:09impressions. But for now, I'm going to ask you a chat about the
- 1:39:12struggling Artist Podcast, a fantastic podcast featuring relaxed conversations championing usually musicians, but
- 1:39:17you've had other creatives on there as well. Hey still Matt here in the
- 1:39:21edit room post very post recording. As you might have heard towards the end,
- 1:39:27we were having some issues with Trev's audio. I definitely think it was
- 1:39:30the program that we used to record, as Trev sounded great on the call,
- 1:39:35but it broke up a lot and kind of crunched the audio while Trev
- 1:39:40was talking about the Struggling Artist Podcast, and I didn't think that was very
- 1:39:43fair on Trev and all of the great work he does over at that podcast.
- 1:39:46So instead, I'm going to use the combination of his words and my
- 1:39:49words to tell you all about the Struggling Artist Podcast. For the most part,
- 1:39:55on the podcast, Trev gets to talk to all of the musicians that
- 1:39:58he loves, listening to lots of independent artists, local bands, and they'll
- 1:40:03have conversations about their process, about life, about struggles, and about mental
- 1:40:10health, which is incredibly important to talk about openly. If you're a music
- 1:40:14fan, if you love supporting independent artists, local music, you should head
- 1:40:18on over to the Struggling Artist Podcast dot com. I will put a link
- 1:40:23in the show notes. There you can find links to obviously the podcast,
- 1:40:27but also there's the Struggling Artist Record Club, a Vinyl subscription service, as
- 1:40:31well as a huge archive of over I think over two hundred and fifty episodes
- 1:40:36now, which is incredible. Trev is a fantastic interviewer. I know he
- 1:40:42avoids using the word interview because he goes for the relaxed conversation approach to podcasting,
- 1:40:46but as we all know by this point, if you're good at doing
- 1:40:49that, what that means is you're good at doing interviews. That's how you
- 1:40:53get the most insightful discussions and just yeah, the best conversation. So please
- 1:40:59do check out the Struggle Artists Podcast. It is a fantastic show. Yeah,
- 1:41:02links in the show notes. And sorry the audio didn't work out,
- 1:41:05Trev. I'm just glad it survived the episode in full and that everyone got
- 1:41:11to hear your fantastic Misspiggy impression having heard my Kermit back, my Kermit's awful.

- 1:43:16Henson, the man himself. The most sophisticated people I've ever known had just
- 1:43:21one thing in common. They were all in touch with their inner child.
- 1:43:27You hear that, everyone, We're sophisticated, all right? Goodbye? Yes, yeah,
