- 0:44Speaker 1: Sunday cast, and for Sunday cast being only one thing
- 0:47Speaker 1: we have, big z.
- 0:49Speaker 4: Hey, it's me and you actually mean Friday?
- 0:52Speaker 1: Did I say for Thursday?
- 0:55Speaker 3: Yep?
- 0:55Speaker 4: The Walking Talking Dead is the Thursday.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Yeah. I totally meant for a Yeah. Just making sure
- 1:02Speaker 1: you all are paying attention. That's all we got Ogre.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Hey, what's up, guys, gonna be back.
- 1:08Speaker 1: We got Zach the guys and we have Dexter.
- 1:13Speaker 5: Hello everyone, but lots.
- 1:16Speaker 1: To go over this week. We have our Unique of
- 1:20Speaker 1: the Week, brought to us by our patrons. I told you, guys,
- 1:23Speaker 1: I was going to find a way to work in
- 1:25Speaker 1: some sort of some sort of like sponsored deal. If
- 1:30Speaker 1: you want to become our sponsor Unique of the Week,
- 1:32Speaker 1: just talk to Big Z. But for right now, it's
- 1:35Speaker 1: our patreons. You can sign up for Patreon at patreon
- 1:38Speaker 1: dot com. Forward slash altered corner. We have nothing to
- 1:42Speaker 1: offer you yet, but we might have something to offer
- 1:46Speaker 1: you shortly. We'll let Z take over that one at
- 1:50Speaker 1: the end, but Ogre take us through Unique of the Week.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Okay, so today this is gonna be a little bit
- 1:56Speaker 3: of a strange one. So Z has very thoughtfully chosen
- 2:00Speaker 3: a unique for me to go over. It's out of Muna,
- 2:03Speaker 3: and I think the main thing to note about it
- 2:05Speaker 3: is that this is sort of the ideal ability in
- 2:09Speaker 3: terms of like competitive Muna archetypes. Right now, this is
- 2:12Speaker 3: what you need. The card that it's printed on less important,
- 2:16Speaker 3: and I think that's in my opinion anyways, the case
- 2:18Speaker 3: with today's as well, but we're looking at a Kelen
- 2:21Speaker 3: elemental in terms of differences from rare. We're looking at
- 2:26Speaker 3: three hand costs three from reserve, which is up one
- 2:29Speaker 3: from from the rare model stats two two three, which
- 2:33Speaker 3: is the same numerically is what you expect from the
- 2:35Speaker 3: new the rare model, just with a little shift from
- 2:38Speaker 3: from forest over to mountain. And then when we get
- 2:40Speaker 3: down into the ability text we see the Kelen elementals
- 2:44Speaker 3: normal from hand you can put a card from your
- 2:46Speaker 3: hand in reserve. Shift over to from reserve you may
- 2:49Speaker 3: put a card from your hand in a reserve. Not
- 2:52Speaker 3: really worth noting. The thing that we're here to talk
- 2:54Speaker 3: about is that that bottom passive, which is when another
- 2:58Speaker 3: character joins your expeditions up to one target character with
- 3:01Speaker 3: hand cost three or less other than me gainst anchored.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Why this is important is because that particular like the
- 3:09Speaker 3: I'm gonna use air quotes here, the competitive immune archetype
- 3:12Speaker 3: is very reliant on sort of stacking plants that are,
- 3:16Speaker 3: you know, three costs and lower on the board and
- 3:18Speaker 3: then using various means to sort of pump them up.
- 3:21Speaker 3: You've got a number of cards that add boosts when
- 3:24Speaker 3: you play them, you've got the spindle that's adding a
- 3:26Speaker 3: boost every turn. The sort of the name of your
- 3:29Speaker 3: game is to build a sticky board, which might put
- 3:33Speaker 3: you a little bit in mind of a certain Bluefella
- 3:35Speaker 3: that we talk about all the time. And then unlike
- 3:38Speaker 3: the blue Fella, you're looking to actually scale those things
- 3:41Speaker 3: while you're preserving that board. And so this is one
- 3:46Speaker 3: of the key elements to that approach. It's getting yourself
- 3:49Speaker 3: some way that's gonna help you throw out anchored more rapidly.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Because many of many of the Muni cards do, like
- 3:56Speaker 3: particularly the plants they have in the rare format, at
- 4:00Speaker 3: when you play it, you're just gonna get anchored, right.
- 4:04Speaker 3: But with this guy, you can play one of those
- 4:07Speaker 3: that gives itself anchored and then use the trigger to
- 4:13Speaker 3: anchor something else. Now it has other than me and
- 4:16Speaker 3: the clause, so obviously you're not using that to anchor
- 4:19Speaker 3: this one. But one of the things that you can
- 4:20Speaker 3: do is play another card that gives anchored to anything
- 4:25Speaker 3: else that's three or less on, play anchor the kell
- 4:28Speaker 3: and elemental, use the trigger from that card to then
- 4:31Speaker 3: anchor the one that you just played, and you kind
- 4:35Speaker 3: of basically that that's your main thing that you're looking
- 4:37Speaker 3: to do, right, You're going to use that interaction to
- 4:40Speaker 3: build up a board that has more characters on it
- 4:42Speaker 3: than the other guy and then find ways to make
- 4:44Speaker 3: them beefy or you know cards like ala Vera that
- 4:47Speaker 3: you're using to get additional value. I think is it
- 4:50Speaker 3: rare spindle harvesters that once you get two or more boosts,
- 4:53Speaker 3: it starts resupplying doing the yep it is. So there's
- 4:57Speaker 3: a few ways that you can use this to both
- 4:59Speaker 3: get carded advantage and to get board presence, and that's
- 5:02Speaker 3: I mean, that's how you win.
- 5:04Speaker 4: So well, then those are the ones that just grow, right,
- 5:06Speaker 4: the rare mushroom grows every turn, the common dracana or
- 5:11Speaker 4: rare dracana grow every turn. Like there's a lot of
- 5:14Speaker 4: value about having your things just stick there.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Yeah, and this this card that to the A plus
- 5:20Speaker 3: for it is that it comes in at three hand cost,
- 5:22Speaker 3: which that's your magic number if you're in that archetype.
- 5:25Speaker 3: I would say a negative from my perspective is that
- 5:29Speaker 3: it's not on a plant body. Yeah, sort of an
- 5:33Speaker 3: ideal An ideal card is pick a plant, make it
- 5:37Speaker 3: cost three stats you know, whatever seems clever. All multiple matter, Yeah, yeah,
- 5:43Speaker 3: and then from that point you're looking to, you know,
- 5:46Speaker 3: scale yourself into a game where you're playing dragons the
- 5:49Speaker 3: rare ones, so that the plant plants that you're anchoring
- 5:52Speaker 3: are now giving that card additional tough so that it
- 5:55Speaker 3: can't be removed as easily. I've seen a couple of
- 6:00Speaker 3: decks that run verdant backs and so having those plants
- 6:03Speaker 3: that you could get anchored to take defender off of
- 6:05Speaker 3: it so that it can now slam people with its stats,
- 6:08Speaker 3: it's a big deal. So I think a lot of
- 6:12Speaker 3: the high level elo undecks that I've run into that
- 6:16Speaker 3: are running the dragon strat, you're going to see some
- 6:18Speaker 3: kind of elemental with with that not elemental, sorry, some
- 6:22Speaker 3: kind of unique with that trigger printed on it, something
- 6:24Speaker 3: that's helping their anchor engine put out more than it
- 6:28Speaker 3: otherwise would.
- 6:30Speaker 4: I think that's the big thing that you mentioned there, Like,
- 6:31Speaker 4: if you're talking about the unique game, is why this
- 6:34Speaker 4: is the unique of the week. It's not necessarily that
- 6:36Speaker 4: like one of them in your deck is going to
- 6:38Speaker 4: be game changing, because like you're going to see if
- 6:41Speaker 4: it's the only one in your deck, you're going to
- 6:43Speaker 4: see it like a third of your games, right, But
- 6:45Speaker 4: like if you get like this trigger, this exact trigger
- 6:49Speaker 4: can be on like five different characters in this affection.
- 6:53Speaker 4: So but if you can hunt out and find three
- 6:56Speaker 4: of these, that drastically changes the actual like packed up
- 7:00Speaker 4: your deck because at that point, if there's already two
- 7:03Speaker 4: of these guys on the field when you play, you're
- 7:06Speaker 4: like one man of spindle Harvesters. You then just anchor
- 7:09Speaker 4: both of them. Then you play your next thing, and
- 7:11Speaker 4: everything on the field is anchored for the rest of
- 7:13Speaker 4: the game. It's just going to keep happening. You just
- 7:15Speaker 4: keep having a board unless and like there's almost nothing
- 7:20Speaker 4: in this game except for one card that people play
- 7:23Speaker 4: and then one card. People don't play the target more
- 7:25Speaker 4: than one dude.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Yeah. And one of the things too that we should
- 7:28Speaker 3: I sort of talked down about the fact that it's
- 7:30Speaker 3: not a plant. But the other side of that coin
- 7:33Speaker 3: is that because it's not a plant, it's in Kellen
- 7:37Speaker 3: Elemental is not competing for any airslots in this deck
- 7:40Speaker 3: like you are not. You're not worried about losing your
- 7:44Speaker 3: access to a single copy of Kelen Elemental by playing
- 7:47Speaker 3: this because you probably weren't playing Kellen Elemental outside of this,
- 7:52Speaker 3: and that rare.
- 7:53Speaker 4: Is unplayable, Like, you never want this in your deck
- 7:57Speaker 4: no matter what you're doing.
- 7:58Speaker 3: It's just not good. Yeah, I think I would agree
- 8:01Speaker 3: with that. Maybe there's some like really edge case scenarios,
- 8:04Speaker 3: but for right now.
- 8:05Speaker 4: But later it's going to be on my dead list.
- 8:08Speaker 3: So yeah, I think it's you know, it's placement in
- 8:12Speaker 3: Mune is is. It's weird, but maybe it'll make sense later.
- 8:15Speaker 3: But the fact that it's in Mune is rare. The
- 8:17Speaker 3: fact that you're getting this uh, this unique and you
- 8:20Speaker 3: don't have to worry about that competition for your deck
- 8:22Speaker 3: building space gives it another slight bump compared to you know,
- 8:25Speaker 3: if it was like if this was printed on a
- 8:28Speaker 3: Sneezer Shroom body, right, I don't even know if Sneezer
- 8:31Speaker 3: Stroom can get this shrew, but if it was, now
- 8:33Speaker 3: you instantly like, that's a decision because you want to
- 8:36Speaker 3: play your Sneezer Shrooms. Losing a copy of that to
- 8:39Speaker 3: run this unique hurts more than throwing in a random
- 8:42Speaker 3: Kelln Kellen Elemental. Right, Yeah, yeah, for sure. And just
- 8:47Speaker 3: because we had this conversation before the cast. Well, we're
- 8:49Speaker 3: doing warm up for anybody out there that wasn't aware
- 8:51Speaker 3: the Kalen Elemental is the cute little critter on the rock,
- 8:55Speaker 3: not the angry old man in the background. It's agree,
- 8:59Speaker 3: still welcome.
- 9:03Speaker 4: Before we move on. This is there's something that happened
- 9:05Speaker 4: and as I was listening to Oger talk and then
- 9:08Speaker 4: there's like what happens in my mind that I like
- 9:10Speaker 4: to point out when we have certain cards card conversations.
- 9:13Speaker 4: So what's the name of this faction?
- 9:15Speaker 3: Oger? I say Muna Muna?
- 9:19Speaker 4: I say Mona, Dexter.
- 9:21Speaker 3: What do you say?
- 9:22Speaker 5: I say Muna And it's Keylon Elemental.
- 9:25Speaker 6: I think he said he said Kellen Elemental I was,
- 9:29Speaker 6: And I say, yeah, Well, I choose to believe that
- 9:33Speaker 6: I'm correct and all of you aren't.
- 9:35Speaker 3: So.
- 9:36Speaker 4: But the thing is, no one's good, like no, we're
- 9:38Speaker 4: all wrong except for Equinox. Is like it's actually this
- 9:42Speaker 4: and it's like Klon and I don't know Mona, who knows?
- 9:47Speaker 3: Wait, that's actually.
- 9:50Speaker 1: How do you pronounce it?
- 9:52Speaker 3: Which one?
- 9:53Speaker 1: I say?
- 9:55Speaker 3: I say Muna am like you sound and then and
- 9:59Speaker 3: then I say Kellen Elemental.
- 10:02Speaker 1: I would say it is Muna, right, because it's right,
- 10:07Speaker 1: like like we go back.
- 10:10Speaker 4: I understand where he's coming from. Like I think there
- 10:12Speaker 4: is a case where it could be Muna. I just
- 10:15Speaker 4: say Muna. I definitely say it's.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Why would it be Why would it be the big
- 10:19Speaker 1: U sound?
- 10:21Speaker 4: Because it's a name, It could be anything.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Fair, I guess it's it's it.
- 10:27Speaker 3: I will admit it is probably Muna because you can
- 10:29Speaker 3: you can parallel that immediately with with Luna. Right. But
- 10:34Speaker 3: in my defense, the people that write this game all
- 10:38Speaker 3: speak a different language, so maybe I'm right?
- 10:41Speaker 1: And why and he says, who says Klan?
- 10:46Speaker 3: All the rest of them, all of us, I think better.
- 10:50Speaker 1: So if I replace the K with an M, isn't
- 10:53Speaker 1: that melon? Yeah?
- 10:54Speaker 6: So bad logic that note you cannot use that logic?
- 10:58Speaker 1: What? What? Why?
- 11:00Speaker 6: Gallagher did a whole bit on that where he flipped
- 11:04Speaker 6: the front letter or the back letter and they do
- 11:06Speaker 6: not sound the same in the English language.
- 11:08Speaker 1: B o m b boom. I know I know the bit,
- 11:14Speaker 1: but I just watched that the other day too.
- 11:17Speaker 3: I would say, hey, Suorry, are you are you feeling
- 11:20Speaker 3: left out at this moment?
- 11:21Speaker 1: No?
- 11:21Speaker 5: I love this bit.
- 11:22Speaker 1: This bit is actually great and stuff, you know, you've
- 11:26Speaker 1: heard of he said it on TikTok, though I've just
- 11:30Speaker 1: seeing the clips on TikTok.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Get out of here, good old TikTok. I for for
- 11:36Speaker 3: the for the sake of the cast, I tell you what,
- 11:38Speaker 3: I'm gonna do a little bit of research between now
- 11:39Speaker 3: and next week. I'll bug some people that are over
- 11:42Speaker 3: in like the story writing department, because I think one
- 11:45Speaker 3: of them frequents the discord and we can get like
- 11:47Speaker 3: some some final word on this.
- 11:49Speaker 4: I think these are fun things because like you always
- 11:52Speaker 4: you're just reading a book, right, or like playing these
- 11:54Speaker 4: cards and you and in my head, I've said this
- 11:56Speaker 4: word one hundred times, right, it's always this other word,
- 12:00Speaker 4: and then when you hear it a little bit differently,
- 12:01Speaker 4: it just sounds funny. I guess that that could.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Be its various different parts. Well the words.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Yeah, interesting, it was very interesting. So, Dexter, we've come
- 12:16Speaker 1: to your segment as to why you suck at Altered,
- 12:20Speaker 1: brought to you by Hearty's Kidding. Hardys doesn't have enough
- 12:26Speaker 1: my response to this show.
- 12:29Speaker 7: So for this week, I want to talk about like
- 12:33Speaker 7: how to not get cards screwed and like have no
- 12:36Speaker 7: cards because I was playing one game, I play WAU
- 12:41Speaker 7: against a Bravos and it was pretty early game and
- 12:45Speaker 7: I had one card in reserve and I drew three
- 12:48Speaker 7: and I chose to mana one and then I had
- 12:50Speaker 7: two small cards in my hand, and then my opponent
- 12:53Speaker 7: sabotaged me, and then I basically had nothing to play
- 12:57Speaker 7: and I got double advanced, and that screwed my whole
- 12:59Speaker 7: game plan.
- 13:00Speaker 5: And then, pretty much.
- 13:01Speaker 7: Like the same day, Cole said he had a similar
- 13:04Speaker 7: thing happened to him with baku. So there was a
- 13:07Speaker 7: baku in reserve that he saw and he chose to manna. Anyways,
- 13:12Speaker 7: when his opponent had the first play, so they played
- 13:15Speaker 7: the baku and then he had no cards to play
- 13:17Speaker 7: and then you get screwed that way. So just like
- 13:19Speaker 7: looking early on, if your opponent has a way to
- 13:22Speaker 7: sabotage you or use baku on you to make it
- 13:25Speaker 7: so you don't have any cards, maybe don't mana, even
- 13:29Speaker 7: though it feels really bad to be on like only
- 13:32Speaker 7: five mana on turn three when you should have six,
- 13:36Speaker 7: but having cards to play is more important there.
- 13:41Speaker 4: Yeah, I have to agree, it's gonna feel bad and
- 13:44Speaker 4: it's gonna suck either way. But if you see that
- 13:47Speaker 4: Baku out there. I mean, you don't really have a
- 13:50Speaker 4: choice at that point. It's either get double push and
- 13:52Speaker 4: take a full turn off and have no cards and
- 13:56Speaker 4: then go into the next turn almost in the same
- 13:59Speaker 4: scenario we're just at or just take you know, the
- 14:04Speaker 4: man a bad turn and at least you know, be
- 14:06Speaker 4: able to play the game that round versus being a
- 14:08Speaker 4: full turn behind the other way.
- 14:11Speaker 3: And that's an interesting point, like the topic of discussion,
- 14:14Speaker 3: I guess I should say, because it's the idea translates
- 14:17Speaker 3: to a couple other areas as well, like either seeing
- 14:21Speaker 3: or knowing that they have access to sabotage obviously, like
- 14:25Speaker 3: we I don't think I've ever seen. Does BACU exist
- 14:27Speaker 3: outside of faction? Is it just an ismir?
- 14:30Speaker 4: There is an out of fact of Baku but it
- 14:32Speaker 4: runs its actium.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Oh hey, it's in brown and I didn't know about it.
- 14:36Speaker 3: That should say.
- 14:37Speaker 4: Something, Uh, yeah, it's too expensive.
- 14:40Speaker 3: But this is the same idea, like when you're this
- 14:43Speaker 3: actually just came up. I played Dexter at a at
- 14:47Speaker 3: a vocal shop yesterday and we had this discussion about
- 14:51Speaker 3: leggates and how I sequenced my plays as Turbo, like
- 14:56Speaker 3: knowing what was going to happen in terms of normally
- 14:58Speaker 3: was turbo. You play with your hand is kind of
- 15:00Speaker 3: your reserve. But I had to adapt around the fact
- 15:06Speaker 3: that he had regular access to like targeted sabotage that
- 15:10Speaker 3: didn't feed into the rest of what I was doing.
- 15:12Speaker 3: So I had to be more careful about putting things
- 15:15Speaker 3: into reserve and spend more time playing from hand, even
- 15:19Speaker 3: though obviously that's not ideal or else. You know, if
- 15:23Speaker 3: I had just stuck to my regular game plan, he
- 15:25Speaker 3: sabotages whatever I throw in there, I start my next
- 15:28Speaker 3: round down options, which is a really bad place to
- 15:31Speaker 3: be as a Turbo. And I think there's probably you
- 15:36Speaker 3: could probably carry that same example over to like if
- 15:39Speaker 3: you're playing into Red, they have eight trillion sabotage options.
- 15:46Speaker 3: I don't know that there's an equivalent Blue consideration besides Leggett.
- 15:54Speaker 1: A spy.
- 15:54Speaker 6: There it is, But I think that's like everything that
- 15:57Speaker 6: you said, everything that Dexteras said, Like it's just with
- 16:00Speaker 6: Bakun reserve, right, you have to be aware of the
- 16:03Speaker 6: board state, right, what your opponent has a reserve, and
- 16:06Speaker 6: you have to be aware of what that faction is
- 16:09Speaker 6: going to bring to the table right, Like you knew
- 16:12Speaker 6: Dexter was possibly gonna have legg its, and thus you
- 16:15Speaker 6: have to play around that. You know that Red might
- 16:18Speaker 6: have you know, possible sabotage, so you kind of try
- 16:20Speaker 6: to play around it a little bit as Michigan. So
- 16:23Speaker 6: that's a that's a very good point.
- 16:26Speaker 7: I mean, I think against really any faction, you just
- 16:28Speaker 7: have to be really wary of sabotage and what goes
- 16:31Speaker 7: into reserve, like especially Red, but I mean all the
- 16:34Speaker 7: other factions except maybe MUNA run at least some sabotage.
- 16:39Speaker 5: So what what isn't around that is important?
- 16:42Speaker 4: Muna's is not sabotage.
- 16:44Speaker 3: I was about to say, what what is their disruption? Did?
- 16:46Speaker 4: I have to assume everything you're doing against Muna is
- 16:49Speaker 4: completely safe. It's just also one of my frustrations with them.
- 16:53Speaker 4: I always feel so vulnerable because you interact with your
- 16:56Speaker 4: opponent so little all the time.
- 16:58Speaker 3: What do they do they have? Does there remove a
- 17:01Speaker 3: cloth cocoon?
- 17:02Speaker 4: They have decent removal as far as just characters and
- 17:05Speaker 4: even the permanent, but like they're you're they're never going
- 17:08Speaker 4: to touch your hand and they're never going to touch
- 17:10Speaker 4: your reserve.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Yeah, that's interesting I guess I hadn't really put that
- 17:14Speaker 3: together before this this discussion that they're not. They have
- 17:20Speaker 3: a lot of ramping, but they don't really have much
- 17:22Speaker 3: way to punish me.
- 17:24Speaker 4: Which is one of the like unfair comparisons between like
- 17:28Speaker 4: Muna and war Like. Waru creates a like Muna does,
- 17:32Speaker 4: but they also just totally wrecked their opponent all the time,
- 17:36Speaker 4: whereas Muda is just like, hey, you do whatever you
- 17:39Speaker 4: want to do over there. I'm just going to try
- 17:40Speaker 4: to grow.
- 17:42Speaker 7: I mean, it is technically possible for Muna to run
- 17:45Speaker 7: like a rare axiom salvager just to get some sabotage.
- 17:49Speaker 5: But there and.
- 17:51Speaker 3: I play.
- 17:53Speaker 4: No no one runs that. Yeah, do not listen if
- 17:58Speaker 4: you follow that. If you try to do that, you'll
- 18:01Speaker 4: end up on wise flame.
- 18:05Speaker 3: That is a pretty pretty rough card when you compare
- 18:09Speaker 3: it to every other sabitage option in the game.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, or maybe you're playing it wrong.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Hey that I am never ever going to fight you
- 18:20Speaker 3: on that statement. That's that is so possible.
- 18:23Speaker 6: Oh wait, they really don't have that many cards, Like
- 18:26Speaker 6: I'm seeing like, uh, cloth cocoon, I.
- 18:34Speaker 3: Mean, well, in fairness, cloth cocoon is that's like that's
- 18:37Speaker 3: your disruption, but no, no Man of Reaping, Like there's
- 18:42Speaker 3: there's a few cards, but it's not really targeted like
- 18:46Speaker 3: you said, it's a it's a little rough.
- 18:52Speaker 5: It's so much worse.
- 18:54Speaker 4: Talking about all this moon of stuff leads directly into
- 18:56Speaker 4: my segment then, so as we decided it is MOONA,
- 19:00Speaker 4: clearly we're going to talk about moon today. As far
- 19:04Speaker 4: as dek con I felt, I was really hoping Cole
- 19:09Speaker 4: would be here for this segment, but he is out today.
- 19:12Speaker 4: But because Cole is the other Moonda player on the cast,
- 19:16Speaker 4: and me and him kind of share thoughts and different stuff,
- 19:19Speaker 4: and he was begging for me to solve the Moona problem.
- 19:23Speaker 4: So then that naturally that led it for it to
- 19:25Speaker 4: be the next faction to take a look at. Kind
- 19:30Speaker 4: of went down the heroes a while back. I really
- 19:32Speaker 4: only consider one of their heroes to be playable at all,
- 19:36Speaker 4: and that is Tasia. I do actually like the way
- 19:38Speaker 4: they built the hero It very much goes in line
- 19:41Speaker 4: with what all of the characters are trying to do,
- 19:44Speaker 4: and it's kind of just a fun dynamic and general
- 19:48Speaker 4: for those that don't have a card memorize or whatever.
- 19:50Speaker 4: When you play any character, if it's the first character
- 19:52Speaker 4: you play.
- 19:52Speaker 3: A game's a boost.
- 19:53Speaker 4: One boost of one fairly effective makes everything a little
- 19:57Speaker 4: stronger that you play the first turn. So playing through
- 20:02Speaker 4: lots of games at Muna first, I was very frustrated
- 20:05Speaker 4: some of what we just talked about. I felt that
- 20:08Speaker 4: I was very vulnerable to just the board statement and
- 20:10Speaker 4: stuff just happening to me all the time because I
- 20:13Speaker 4: didn't have a lot I could do against my opponents.
- 20:16Speaker 4: Which led me to where I'm going to be with
- 20:19Speaker 4: my Common stars and my Rare stars. I'm going to start,
- 20:25Speaker 4: I think with the Rare stars, because this is really
- 20:27Speaker 4: where it kind of spun off the rest of the deck.
- 20:29Speaker 4: Once I decided on it, I tried a bunch of
- 20:32Speaker 4: options here. I tried I actually tried a scenario with
- 20:36Speaker 4: no dragon and tried to just like keep all my
- 20:39Speaker 4: guys on there to build value over time as much
- 20:41Speaker 4: as I could. That didn't quite work out for me
- 20:44Speaker 4: all that well, and then I switched back to tried
- 20:47Speaker 4: iterations of the dragon at Common and the Dragon at Rare. Ultimately,
- 20:52Speaker 4: the Hydra Cana I do have as a superstar of
- 20:55Speaker 4: the deck.
- 20:57Speaker 1: I go Rare.
- 20:58Speaker 4: Hydra Cana there the one that gets extra toughness for
- 21:01Speaker 4: each little plant guy that you have, and just allows
- 21:06Speaker 4: him to stay on the board, because again, like you're
- 21:08Speaker 4: all about building a board. If your guys can't stay there,
- 21:11Speaker 4: you're just wasting Mana. My other Rare star I have
- 21:16Speaker 4: a superstar status is cloth Cocoon. I personally think this
- 21:20Speaker 4: is one of the best cards in the game for
- 21:21Speaker 4: three mana. It answers the most egregious thing in the game,
- 21:26Speaker 4: which is robin hood, and it's always going to be asleep,
- 21:30Speaker 4: so it fulfills the criterion. So you just pop them,
- 21:34Speaker 4: and you've got some other ways to like give conditions
- 21:37Speaker 4: if you really needed to when they are not fulfilling
- 21:41Speaker 4: the criterion of either sleep, anchored or leading. But most
- 21:46Speaker 4: of the things you want to do with this is
- 21:47Speaker 4: a game at some point in time are gonna have
- 21:48Speaker 4: one of those anyway. I love the tiny gin. It's
- 21:52Speaker 4: that at offaction, Rare automatically gets the boost, which means
- 21:56Speaker 4: it's gonna immediately ramp for you. That's amazing alo Vera
- 22:01Speaker 4: I'm a big fan of in everywhere. You can run
- 22:03Speaker 4: it at rare, you play it at three, you pay
- 22:05Speaker 4: the extra one, and you anchor it, so that you
- 22:08Speaker 4: can immediately get that drawl just like Bravos. I have
- 22:12Speaker 4: actually found the Muna does suffer from not neat having
- 22:17Speaker 4: enough cards at different times, and Olivera really does help that.
- 22:21Speaker 4: All of the more expensive guys that are anchoring also
- 22:23Speaker 4: help that too, because you're playing less cards. But when
- 22:26Speaker 4: you drop Alavera with Teja, it's a three three five
- 22:29Speaker 4: anchored for four. I never play ali Verra unless it's
- 22:33Speaker 4: like to win the game or something without anchoring it
- 22:36Speaker 4: because the value is there. Yes, sometimes that does suck
- 22:39Speaker 4: if it's answered by your opponent due to some control spell,
- 22:43Speaker 4: which leads me to my fifth and final rare. I
- 22:45Speaker 4: run all fifteen of these. In my final iteration of
- 22:48Speaker 4: Muna is the rare Spindle. I went back and forth
- 22:54Speaker 4: between run, running Meadow or spindle. With the amount of
- 22:58Speaker 4: control out there, because of how prevalent robin hood is
- 23:01Speaker 4: and war are, everyone has enough control to deal with
- 23:05Speaker 4: your little plant dudes being on the board for too long.
- 23:09Speaker 4: Spindle helps that a lot. It makes it really really
- 23:11Speaker 4: difficult for them to deal with your guys being on
- 23:15Speaker 4: the board that long because if they do spend anything
- 23:17Speaker 4: like the cheapest remove will spell in the game. Generally
- 23:20Speaker 4: that is good is what teamwork training, and off you go.
- 23:25Speaker 4: Making them pay four instead of two for that generally
- 23:27Speaker 4: is pretty devastating and sometimes they're going to have to anyway.
- 23:31Speaker 4: So I do run Spendel's. Technically I could run that
- 23:34Speaker 4: at Common, but because I do keep my guys out
- 23:36Speaker 4: there quite a while, I really like the rare version
- 23:39Speaker 4: because that further boost allows you to start winning battles
- 23:43Speaker 4: that I was otherwise losing against stuff like a Faunas
- 23:47Speaker 4: and Kojo because their guys are just big two without
- 23:51Speaker 4: then without the rare spindle, I was losing really heads
- 23:55Speaker 4: up battles back and forth as people that play against Muna.
- 24:00Speaker 4: I'm not sure how much y'all see which one because
- 24:04Speaker 4: a lot of people are still running the meadows, but
- 24:06Speaker 4: I have one pivoted away from meadow entirely into spindle.
- 24:11Speaker 4: I will not play Muno without it.
- 24:14Speaker 3: I very very rarely see the spindle, and it's always
- 24:18Speaker 3: a little bit crazy. I think I had a conversation
- 24:20Speaker 3: with you before that I wanted to try running it
- 24:22Speaker 3: in Bravos specifically because of the tall problem, right, Like,
- 24:29Speaker 3: my cards are bigger, but they are very easily disrupted. Yeah,
- 24:34Speaker 3: and it sounds like what you're saying is that the
- 24:38Speaker 3: Munich can kind of afford to take that tempo hit
- 24:40Speaker 3: a little bit better than Bravos can.
- 24:42Speaker 4: I think they have to because like occasionally you will
- 24:44Speaker 4: have turns so where you're going to lay anchored down
- 24:47Speaker 4: multiple and then the next turn you have a window
- 24:49Speaker 4: to put your your spindle down because you're not like
- 24:52Speaker 4: necessarily losing ground that turn because you already do have
- 24:55Speaker 4: things out there. It's also keeping the things that are
- 24:57Speaker 4: out there out there for that term. Because of the
- 25:00Speaker 4: way the spindle works, I've been able to use it
- 25:03Speaker 4: effectively in most games. I'll talk about like wins and
- 25:07Speaker 4: losses here in a second, but that was a huge
- 25:10Speaker 4: thing once I settled on these fifteen rares. I do
- 25:14Speaker 4: want to do a big shout out to the Lyra Thespians.
- 25:16Speaker 4: Value like I've been played. I played it against it
- 25:18Speaker 4: a couple of times. For two man, it actually has
- 25:21Speaker 4: a hell of a bunch of stats. Has like Bravos
- 25:23Speaker 4: level stats. You always have the two plant, like the
- 25:26Speaker 4: boosted maybe it's just boosted character whatever. You always have
- 25:28Speaker 4: the trigger almost so it is actually a very good
- 25:32Speaker 4: value card to play. So for like uniques for this
- 25:36Speaker 4: design that I'm talking about, this kind of deck, if
- 25:38Speaker 4: you can replace any of your your tiny gin, your
- 25:43Speaker 4: ala Vera. I know most of the dragons suck, but
- 25:46Speaker 4: if you can find a Hydrocna dragon to remove those
- 25:49Speaker 4: rears into the unique land, the Lyri Thespion would be
- 25:53Speaker 4: like my runner up for the sixth Raer Star because
- 25:55Speaker 4: it is a very very good, just stat pushing card. No,
- 25:59Speaker 4: it's not a player ants, so that part kind of sucks.
- 26:04Speaker 3: It's hard to argue with at two for a four
- 26:06Speaker 3: to four four.
- 26:07Speaker 4: Yeah, it's it's just a really yeah when it comes
- 26:10Speaker 4: down to pushing stuff, it's basically like play a Bravos
- 26:14Speaker 4: tracer that doesn't have fleeting like it is a really
- 26:16Speaker 4: really good value play most of the time.
- 26:19Speaker 3: Yeah, and we talked about there there are there are
- 26:23Speaker 3: some triggers like oh, never mind, I was gonna say
- 26:26Speaker 3: that they had, uh, you know, it has the one
- 26:28Speaker 3: trigger where it's like where when a character is boosted,
- 26:30Speaker 3: but it's not when a character, it's when this character
- 26:33Speaker 3: for their version, So that's not really triggering that m.
- 26:38Speaker 4: Yeah, because it's a two two, it's a two to
- 26:41Speaker 4: two for two to two and then if you can
- 26:44Speaker 4: tell two of the more boosted carriers, which it counts itself.
- 26:47Speaker 4: So when you play it as the first trigger, assuming
- 26:49Speaker 4: you have an anchored one anchored guy from the last turn,
- 26:52Speaker 4: you're playing a five five five for two like it is.
- 26:55Speaker 4: It doesn't get better than that, No, not really. So
- 26:59Speaker 4: that is a very very heavy push anywhere in mid game,
- 27:03Speaker 4: late game, hell, early game ish.
- 27:06Speaker 3: So that'd be a good way to justify the like
- 27:09Speaker 3: in terms of like a spindle turn. If you've got
- 27:11Speaker 3: five mana being able to put five stats on the
- 27:14Speaker 3: board plus get a spindle out, that's that's good. That's
- 27:20Speaker 3: good no matter what color you are.
- 27:22Speaker 4: That is the rare that I have on the bubble
- 27:24Speaker 4: that would love to fit in my line. But I
- 27:26Speaker 4: don't have anything in those other five that I would
- 27:29Speaker 4: remove for it. But if I could unique up three
- 27:32Speaker 4: of the others, I would one hundred percent those would
- 27:34Speaker 4: be the next ones in there. Now here's the journey
- 27:39Speaker 4: I had with Muda. It was really the comments that
- 27:42Speaker 4: the comments give gave me kind of a fit. I
- 27:44Speaker 4: went back and forth a lot, and in the end
- 27:47Speaker 4: I ran I ended up on eight because some of
- 27:50Speaker 4: these are running at two. The main ones that I
- 27:54Speaker 4: have is I I really am a big fan of
- 27:56Speaker 4: leading with drake Kanna, dra kina whatever you want to
- 27:59Speaker 4: say that you are a C A N A on
- 28:03Speaker 4: that turn one. On turn one, you're getting your taja bump.
- 28:06Speaker 4: It's anchored, so it'll be there turned two and it
- 28:09Speaker 4: grows itself naturally, so if you have a way to
- 28:12Speaker 4: additionally anchor it that next turn, it'll be there for
- 28:15Speaker 4: you to do that. So I'm a big fan of
- 28:19Speaker 4: that car dot com, but I actually don't like the
- 28:20Speaker 4: rear at all. And then we have some other anchor
- 28:24Speaker 4: people that come in anchored, so three of common Cazarstorm,
- 28:28Speaker 4: three of spindle Harveser's just as that bodies on the
- 28:30Speaker 4: board that are a little bit sticky. No, they're not
- 28:32Speaker 4: a lot of stats, but they're cheap you put them
- 28:34Speaker 4: down there. Generally, I have the muna caregiver that's that
- 28:40Speaker 4: one minute due that ends up getting a quick action
- 28:43Speaker 4: to archive someone. So that's really just an archive card.
- 28:46Speaker 4: Munadurid does actually have decent stats, but does generally the
- 28:49Speaker 4: same thing the caregiver does. You'll always use a quick
- 28:51Speaker 4: action to archive something later. And then the spells is
- 28:54Speaker 4: where it really came in here that I have the
- 28:59Speaker 4: most time playing around with because I really wasn't sold
- 29:01Speaker 4: on what I was gonna do. I even had harvest
- 29:03Speaker 4: here at one point. This final advation doesn't. But the
- 29:06Speaker 4: spells that I all run two of each are Mana Reaping,
- 29:11Speaker 4: Meditation Training, and Beauty Sleep. Mana Reaping and Beauty Sleep
- 29:14Speaker 4: are there primarily for creature colt control at the end
- 29:17Speaker 4: of the game to close it out. Mana Reaping is
- 29:19Speaker 4: for other big batties, like other people's dragons stuff like that,
- 29:24Speaker 4: because cloth cocooned itself doesn't really take care of the
- 29:26Speaker 4: dragon because it doesn't have a condition unless you like
- 29:29Speaker 4: put it a sleep first, and then cloth cocoon and
- 29:31Speaker 4: that's just way too much manna and then Medicipation Training
- 29:35Speaker 4: is another to two and then a three for further
- 29:39Speaker 4: anchored value. Normally you're targeting you're either your drink canna
- 29:42Speaker 4: that's been growing your al vera, and because your spindle
- 29:46Speaker 4: pumps up stuff constantly, beginning to turn two just adds
- 29:49Speaker 4: more value to running the spindles. There are several games
- 29:52Speaker 4: I'll actually in the game with two spindles on play
- 29:54Speaker 4: because they are also growing my anchored people, And at
- 29:56Speaker 4: that point, once you got two spindled, there ain't no
- 29:58Speaker 4: one touching anything you're doing.
- 30:00Speaker 3: They're just going to let it go.
- 30:01Speaker 4: Because they don't have a choice. In the end, I started,
- 30:06Speaker 4: so Cole's frustrated, which is why I was hoping you'd
- 30:08Speaker 4: be here. I don't know, have any of y'all played
- 30:10Speaker 4: Muna much.
- 30:12Speaker 3: I kind of started on them and then very quickly
- 30:14Speaker 3: rotated elsewhere.
- 30:16Speaker 4: How was your winning and losing going?
- 30:21Speaker 3: Well, there was a lot of one of those two things.
- 30:24Speaker 4: I was feeling the same because every time go would
- 30:26Speaker 4: talk about blaying Muna, I was like, it's like I'm
- 30:29Speaker 4: at thirty percent or whatever. Was like this because you're
- 30:31Speaker 4: playing Muna, so eventually it could convinced me to pay
- 30:35Speaker 4: attention to it. Right, So it was like I did this.
- 30:38Speaker 4: I went through these common stars, rare stars. When once
- 30:40Speaker 4: I landed on this, I went from I know, I
- 30:44Speaker 4: had about fifteen games in it at the time, Now
- 30:47Speaker 4: I have thirty four games in it. In my first
- 30:51Speaker 4: fifteen games, before I really looked at these cards, I
- 30:55Speaker 4: was at like forty eight, forty six, forty eight percent
- 30:58Speaker 4: something like that win rate. Now I'm at thirty four
- 31:01Speaker 4: games I'm at sixty eight percent wins now. I think
- 31:05Speaker 4: over my last twenty games, I've won roughly seventy to
- 31:11Speaker 4: seventy five percent, which is actually fairly close to where
- 31:14Speaker 4: my kojo ended up after doing that. As far as
- 31:17Speaker 4: playing it, I do think it's actually pretty comparable as
- 31:20Speaker 4: far as just how does this feel right now? Honestly,
- 31:24Speaker 4: I think I would have just a successful rate with
- 31:27Speaker 4: Taja as my cojo deck that I talked about last
- 31:30Speaker 4: week if my uniques didn't suck, like I'm at somewhere
- 31:34Speaker 4: between seventy and seventy five percent with my new deck
- 31:37Speaker 4: that as the core that I just talked about with
- 31:39Speaker 4: the rivers and commons with really bad uniques, like my
- 31:42Speaker 4: uniques for what I'm trying to do don't support me
- 31:45Speaker 4: at all. So that is that is where I'm at
- 31:50Speaker 4: with Taja. So overall, I'm feeling pretty good about it.
- 31:52Speaker 4: And I'm actually two and two against my most recent
- 31:58Speaker 4: for WARU opponents, So it does have someone stuff there
- 32:02Speaker 4: because like once the spindles down and the dragon comes them,
- 32:06Speaker 4: spending like seven on sticky is not something they want
- 32:09Speaker 4: to do, and that doesn't kill it. It just sends
- 32:11Speaker 4: it back to reserve. So dragon is an interesting answer
- 32:16Speaker 4: if you can get get it out, but you have
- 32:19Speaker 4: to survive that long, right.
- 32:22Speaker 3: I think as that archetype gets more hot, like I'm
- 32:24Speaker 3: very curious to see it feels like it's right on
- 32:26Speaker 3: the cusp right of being a larger talking point. And
- 32:31Speaker 3: when when trials I always forget is it trials by
- 32:34Speaker 3: Frost or Trials of Frost of Frost? It is it's
- 32:38Speaker 3: trials of I think, so no, it's it's Trial by Frost.
- 32:42Speaker 3: Is the really I think once that drops and we
- 32:46Speaker 3: see sort of, yeah, what what additional tools? Because that's
- 32:51Speaker 3: it's it's going to be really exciting just in general,
- 32:53Speaker 3: because the first new set that you get in a
- 32:55Speaker 3: card game gives you a lot of information in terms
- 32:58Speaker 3: of like what sort of level of change you can
- 33:02Speaker 3: expect set to set, or like from a little set.
- 33:06Speaker 3: I've played some games where you know, these smaller supplemental
- 33:10Speaker 3: sets are very very conservative in terms of like how
- 33:16Speaker 3: much they adjust the current meta. You know, maybe it
- 33:21Speaker 3: just reinforces existes instead of introducing new ones. Whatever. What
- 33:27Speaker 3: we see out of at a Trial by Frost, for
- 33:29Speaker 3: for Una, is going to be for them because they
- 33:34Speaker 3: haven't seen as much success as some of the of
- 33:36Speaker 3: the other factions in in tournament play, despite the fact
- 33:39Speaker 3: that they're insanely popular. Yes, it's it's gonna be really neat.
- 33:45Speaker 4: I think that's another thing I was a comment on,
- 33:48Speaker 4: like Tasia is extremely common to pair up against in
- 33:52Speaker 4: the queue in every level, whether you're just in the
- 33:55Speaker 4: regular elo, playing some tournament or in this arena, because we,
- 34:00Speaker 4: like Zach and me track our games, right, so like,
- 34:03Speaker 4: out of the most common opponent that we have had
- 34:07Speaker 4: over what is the total amount of games, it's like,
- 34:11Speaker 4: what's this number, four hundred games that we've tracked, Tajia specifically,
- 34:16Speaker 4: Taja has been fifty four of them. That's the second
- 34:20Speaker 4: most common. The most common is Siggy at fifty seven.
- 34:23Speaker 4: So you see a lot of people running Taja, and
- 34:25Speaker 4: I do see a lot of them running the meadow,
- 34:28Speaker 4: and I really do think that in the current field
- 34:33Speaker 4: that they're running is just wrong. So like if you're
- 34:35Speaker 4: playing Muna, I have like debated with Cole about running
- 34:41Speaker 4: at common or rare. I really like the rare one
- 34:43Speaker 4: as far as the value you're getting out of it
- 34:45Speaker 4: almost indefinitely, but there's you could potentially free up that
- 34:49Speaker 4: lyric thespion at by moving into common. So like there
- 34:52Speaker 4: is an argument there. I'm not going to say there's
- 34:54Speaker 4: not like that might be a thing I should do,
- 34:57Speaker 4: but I really like it running at the rare for
- 35:00Speaker 4: the value I have there, and it has changed drastically
- 35:05Speaker 4: my win rate, specifically that card, because I tried a
- 35:07Speaker 4: lot of other things, because like everyone else, I started
- 35:10Speaker 4: out with.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Three men in that corner.
- 35:14Speaker 4: Here go, which then without spindle just gets handled somehow
- 35:21Speaker 4: because the players have to have those cards already for Robin.
- 35:24Speaker 4: If it's a card that can remove Robin, it's a
- 35:26Speaker 4: card that can remove your dragon, so they already are
- 35:30Speaker 4: teching for that if they're trying to win games.
- 35:33Speaker 3: Unless they're Brown. Question which case we're running Kellen Burst
- 35:37Speaker 3: and we can't touch your dragons. We really wish we could,
- 35:40Speaker 3: but we can't.
- 35:43Speaker 4: Brown has that boom because I I I.
- 35:46Speaker 1: Disparagingly did not ask this question last week. Bro If
- 35:52Speaker 1: I need so Mona, we think what right outside? What
- 35:56Speaker 1: is it? Is it the third? Like you got what ortis?
- 35:59Speaker 1: Then like Ira than Mona? If you had to rank
- 36:04Speaker 1: them all.
- 36:05Speaker 4: I like all in testing not done, but a lot
- 36:08Speaker 4: of heroes a lot. Now, I think there are really
- 36:12Speaker 4: really good A tier level builds for like eight different heroes,
- 36:17Speaker 4: and then Warro sits on a throne above them. Okay,
- 36:21Speaker 4: I think there truly are eight very balanced competitive heroes
- 36:24Speaker 4: right now, and then Warro's bullshit.
- 36:27Speaker 1: So that's so so what you're telling me the option
- 36:29Speaker 1: right now is ban wah ban ortis.
- 36:32Speaker 4: No, just change one card, I'll just remove one damn
- 36:35Speaker 4: Changing war.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Word on one card makes that big a difference, Yes, makes.
- 36:39Speaker 3: A pretty big difference.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I think. I think the unfortunate part is Ortist
- 36:45Speaker 1: still has a load of just absolute bullshit.
- 36:49Speaker 3: Like I I don't disagree with that.
- 36:51Speaker 1: I feel like the mana value for what you get
- 36:55Speaker 1: in WAU. It's like, why is it always like you
- 36:58Speaker 1: get one extra thing for one less?
- 37:02Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 37:03Speaker 1: They crazy on that one. Like I feel maybe I am,
- 37:06Speaker 1: maybe I'm off base.
- 37:07Speaker 5: I have to sleep increases value by a lot.
- 37:09Speaker 3: I would agree with you that. Like the card quality
- 37:12Speaker 3: in Blue is it's it's pretty good.
- 37:18Speaker 1: Any other card in any other faction, it's like, oh,
- 37:21Speaker 1: it always costs one more and does one less thing.
- 37:28Speaker 1: I think if you.
- 37:29Speaker 4: If you ad bureaucrat if if Robin Hood wasn't a bee, right,
- 37:35Speaker 4: Like I just call him the b they're not.
- 37:38Speaker 1: Does that overall the value eight here would be that irrelevant?
- 37:45Speaker 4: Yes, because I think the other bureaucrats wall are really good.
- 37:50Speaker 4: I think unfortunately Trice would Sill have a little bit
- 37:53Speaker 4: of a hard.
- 37:54Speaker 3: Time because I was just about to say, like, let's
- 37:56Speaker 3: be clear here, would we say that like Robinhood is
- 37:58Speaker 3: the problem that puts war s. It's literally when when
- 38:03Speaker 3: if you're removing completely Wyre doesn't suddenly become like beat
- 38:08Speaker 3: your middle pack whatever, Like he's still crazy and.
- 38:13Speaker 4: I still think he fits in line with the rest,
- 38:15Speaker 4: but you.
- 38:15Speaker 3: Have them in him at that point. Yeah.
- 38:18Speaker 4: Yeah, Well, like there's a bunch of games last week
- 38:22Speaker 4: that I was like calling out, like if not only
- 38:25Speaker 4: if they didn't have if Robinhood wasn't a bee, they
- 38:28Speaker 4: needed all three of them to beat my Koja deck,
- 38:31Speaker 4: or they needed all three of them to beat the
- 38:33Speaker 4: Taser deck that I made recently wins fitty uniques what
- 38:38Speaker 4: like that. I think it's just playing well and understanding
- 38:41Speaker 4: because like I play all of the top heroes that
- 38:43Speaker 4: I can to understand how to play against them, and
- 38:47Speaker 4: the better you are playing against Warrow. That means doing
- 38:50Speaker 4: certain things, holding certain cards, waiting for certain moments. You
- 38:53Speaker 4: could still do that without that one card being a
- 38:57Speaker 4: bee much more effectively. And then there win it goes
- 39:00Speaker 4: way way down.
- 39:02Speaker 3: Well, I don't know if i'd say way way down.
- 39:04Speaker 3: I think it comes down for sure.
- 39:05Speaker 4: It comes down from the person that plays at the
- 39:08Speaker 4: most the best bean ninety nine percent at it.
- 39:11Speaker 3: Yeah, that the games that I play where I see
- 39:15Speaker 3: a robin Hood versus not seeing robin Hood. The feeling
- 39:19Speaker 3: like you we've all played card games for a while now,
- 39:22Speaker 3: you know you're as a person like sitting across from
- 39:26Speaker 3: somebody that when you have no control of a game,
- 39:28Speaker 3: you feel that and you know it the whole way through,
- 39:30Speaker 3: Like it doesn't matter what the board state looks like,
- 39:34Speaker 3: you know, if you're the one taking the beat down
- 39:36Speaker 3: or not. And the feeling playing into live robin Hoods
- 39:41Speaker 3: versus not live robin Hoods is so drastic. A shift
- 39:47Speaker 3: like Warrew with robin Hood for me personally makes me
- 39:52Speaker 3: not want to play, like it has a very large
- 39:54Speaker 3: impact on my desire to play the game. Warrew without
- 39:58Speaker 3: robin Hood is still very very good, but it feels
- 40:02Speaker 3: like a game it feels like I'm doing something. It
- 40:04Speaker 3: feels like interacting.
- 40:05Speaker 4: It feels like a fair game. You're in a fair field. Nothing,
- 40:08Speaker 4: we're not playing chess here. That's not this game, so
- 40:11Speaker 4: it will never be that. If you're looking for that
- 40:13Speaker 4: kind of game, go fund, go play chess man.
- 40:16Speaker 1: Maybe I just need to get good. I don't know,
- 40:18Speaker 1: Like I mean, I haven't been playing this game nearly
- 40:21Speaker 1: as long as you guys, but I still I will.
- 40:24Speaker 4: Give you that though, like very early on.
- 40:27Speaker 1: Cards is just it feels so much better.
- 40:32Speaker 4: And you do have to get used to playing toward them.
- 40:37Speaker 3: Though yeah, I do. I agree with you about their
- 40:41Speaker 3: card quality. I think I think they're very blessed as
- 40:44Speaker 3: a faction, They're very loved. But the it does it
- 40:50Speaker 3: makes I guess it's almost hard to communicate it.
- 40:53Speaker 4: Like the I I think I can tell say basically
- 40:57Speaker 4: what's going on is like, if you want to play
- 40:59Speaker 4: these other facts, and I've talked about two of them,
- 41:02Speaker 4: my stars for two different factions. If you're playing in
- 41:05Speaker 4: the factions, if you are not have the like top
- 41:09Speaker 4: quality cards out of your thirty nine that you're choosing
- 41:12Speaker 4: thirty six, you're choosing minus uniques and you're running. If
- 41:16Speaker 4: you don't choose the right thirty six and you run
- 41:19Speaker 4: into Ortis, Ortis can choose any thirty six. They don't
- 41:23Speaker 4: have dud cards. Really, That's it's kind of.
- 41:26Speaker 1: What I mean. It feels like.
- 41:28Speaker 4: That is you choose the best thirty six cards in
- 41:32Speaker 4: the other five colors. You're competing against them.
- 41:35Speaker 1: Just finally, And I also feel like ortists can make
- 41:38Speaker 1: a play error and they'll not get punished as much
- 41:42Speaker 1: for it.
- 41:44Speaker 3: They're very resilient.
- 41:46Speaker 4: I agree with that. They can even be like losing
- 41:49Speaker 4: really bad.
- 41:49Speaker 1: It's just like, man if I make one play error,
- 41:52Speaker 1: it's like yeap, kick in and nuts, you're done. And
- 41:55Speaker 1: it's like they've made several I feel play errors and
- 41:59Speaker 1: nah's that's all right. Yeah.
- 42:03Speaker 3: They they have a lot of moving things that they're
- 42:07Speaker 3: trying to, like just in terms of making their engine run.
- 42:12Speaker 3: There are like at the top level of WARU play
- 42:16Speaker 3: and of SICKI play, they are having to juggle quite
- 42:21Speaker 3: a few things to like be that that level of successful.
- 42:24Speaker 3: But the thing is, if you're not at the top,
- 42:26Speaker 3: like the very tippy top sort of the middle of
- 42:29Speaker 3: the road play, yeah, they if you assume equal levels
- 42:34Speaker 3: of mistakes from both players. They make three mistakes, you
- 42:37Speaker 3: make three mistakes, They're coming out on top every time.
- 42:40Speaker 3: That's just that's just sort of middle of the of
- 42:44Speaker 3: the road, Elo, that's where we're at. Like you you
- 42:47Speaker 3: have to be on the top of your game because
- 42:49Speaker 3: if you slip, they can capitalize.
- 42:52Speaker 1: But that wasn't my question. My question was in set
- 42:55Speaker 1: to right that's scheduled to come out in January. I
- 42:59Speaker 1: believe yes, Okay, if I had to design a card
- 43:04Speaker 1: to put Muna over the Top into the top tier,
- 43:08Speaker 1: what would you be looking for to make that that
- 43:11Speaker 1: a thing?
- 43:12Speaker 4: It's not just one card. I think Cole kind of
- 43:15Speaker 4: said up something about it in our chat, like, so
- 43:18Speaker 4: I removed Spindle, like I mean, I removed meta for
- 43:22Speaker 4: Spindle in my build. I will not play a Muda
- 43:24Speaker 4: without three Spindles in my deck period, which means I
- 43:27Speaker 4: can't run meta at all because it's redundant because you
- 43:30Speaker 4: only have two landmark spots. So what I would.
- 43:33Speaker 3: Do is.
- 43:36Speaker 4: Add like like Cole needs wants there to be more
- 43:39Speaker 4: plants someone else. I think I said this in a
- 43:41Speaker 4: chat somewhere too, like if there were more plant characters
- 43:46Speaker 4: in general that had baked in toughness. That's where it's
- 43:51Speaker 4: at for Muna, like they need that real, real bad.
- 43:54Speaker 4: If you had somewhere between two to four more characters
- 43:58Speaker 4: and at least one, actually at least two of them
- 44:01Speaker 4: had some level of hydro type toughness baked in with them,
- 44:06Speaker 4: then you could go back to potentially running the meadow
- 44:10Speaker 4: like freaking bureaucrats do, and you could have a different,
- 44:14Speaker 4: different deck entirely. You wouldn't even need to be beholder
- 44:17Speaker 4: necessarily to the dragon any Yeah.
- 44:19Speaker 7: I would also help a lot if you had cards
- 44:23Speaker 7: that just talk about plants also be like plants or druids,
- 44:27Speaker 7: because most of your you're running a few druids there,
- 44:30Speaker 7: and that would help get the numbers up.
- 44:31Speaker 5: At that point, metal would be playable.
- 44:34Speaker 7: And if they changed the wording on hydra there just
- 44:37Speaker 7: made more cards referred to plants and druids, so it
- 44:40Speaker 7: just has more of an impact.
- 44:41Speaker 3: Or just print druids like you could. You could print
- 44:44Speaker 3: a druid that gives uh the plant typing to other
- 44:48Speaker 3: cards and suddenly you've you've you've got a whole slew
- 44:53Speaker 3: of options that you can start playing around that. I
- 44:56Speaker 3: think you could look at that point. The I don't
- 44:59Speaker 3: know that they still call them this, but like back
- 45:02Speaker 3: when I used to play Magic, you had the concept
- 45:04Speaker 3: of like tribal decks where it was halflings or snakes,
- 45:08Speaker 3: or there was the fun squirrel deck way back when
- 45:12Speaker 3: you've got right now that we've seen, you've got sort
- 45:17Speaker 3: of a plant tribal deck, you have the seed of
- 45:21Speaker 3: a robot tribal deck, and then you've got bureaucrats. Right,
- 45:23Speaker 3: there's not really another archetype that's being played right now
- 45:29Speaker 3: that that cares about types in the same way. And
- 45:32Speaker 3: if you look at how many options bureaucrats got Set one,
- 45:36Speaker 3: and then you look at how many options there are
- 45:39Speaker 3: for robot synergies and plant synergies. Plants admittedly did a
- 45:42Speaker 3: little bit better than robots, but I think for either
- 45:46Speaker 3: Muna or axiom going into set two, if you see
- 45:49Speaker 3: something that starts to flesh out those archetypes, more things
- 45:53Speaker 3: that interact specifically with plants, more plants.
- 45:58Speaker 4: Robots plant interact not already, because that's how then a
- 46:01Speaker 4: lot of the uniques actually function. We just need more
- 46:05Speaker 4: actual plant characters because then the new uniques will fire
- 46:08Speaker 4: off of that anyway, because they'll iterate on themselves. There
- 46:11Speaker 4: definitely does need to be like four or more characters
- 46:14Speaker 4: at minimum that are plants. And as far as like
- 46:17Speaker 4: the metacide is where I came in with the whole
- 46:19Speaker 4: toughness thing, like if I mean, because you can change
- 46:23Speaker 4: the algorithm at any time, I think they need to
- 46:28Speaker 4: turn up whatever dial in the algorithm when they release that.
- 46:32Speaker 4: To that adds all plants gain toughness x as a
- 46:38Speaker 4: unique feature that the cards can get, like even including
- 46:42Speaker 4: the ones that will be reprinted and the new ones
- 46:44Speaker 4: like that just needs to be a trigger that can
- 46:47Speaker 4: hit uniques in Mouna more commonly. Then you wouldn't be forced,
- 46:51Speaker 4: in my opinion, to run spindle, which is right now,
- 46:53Speaker 4: like I just won't play them without it.
- 46:57Speaker 3: I wonder if there's any space in this game. Are
- 46:59Speaker 3: you guys from a with like taunt archetypes where you
- 47:02Speaker 3: have basically if I'm on the field and would target something,
- 47:06Speaker 3: it has to target me.
- 47:07Speaker 1: First familiar, very familiar with with the word taunt.
- 47:13Speaker 3: So that is something that I think if you if
- 47:15Speaker 3: you started printing as an ability either in the unique
- 47:19Speaker 3: pool or just on a card, particularly because they have
- 47:23Speaker 3: a lot of like.
- 47:26Speaker 4: I think as long as the ortist doesn't get one.
- 47:30Speaker 3: Well, I don't want I don't want ortists to get
- 47:32Speaker 3: any toys. If I'm being frank, I'm sorry, Zach. I
- 47:35Speaker 3: still love you though. Uh but like if you print
- 47:39Speaker 3: that and let it be probably green red, maybe each
- 47:47Speaker 3: card goes out affectionately once right, or's a go ahead
- 47:49Speaker 3: of faction twice once once? So yeah, green, green red.
- 47:54Speaker 3: It feels like the right place for an ability like
- 47:56Speaker 3: that strategy.
- 48:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I can see that. I can see Pink getting
- 48:03Speaker 4: one too, because, like you know, they're taunting you literally
- 48:06Speaker 4: because of the whole singing.
- 48:09Speaker 3: Yeah, but I don't want to give Pink any new
- 48:10Speaker 3: toys either, Zee, because once we address war, fen is
- 48:13Speaker 3: going to be the next elephant in the room.
- 48:16Speaker 4: Is though, Like I don't feel like Fenn is anything
- 48:19Speaker 4: can stop on finn all I don't s.
- 48:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't feel like Pink is like the elephant
- 48:25Speaker 1: in the room at all. Like I feel like there's
- 48:28Speaker 1: I feel like there's there's warm sorry, there's artists, and
- 48:31Speaker 1: then there's all the other factions.
- 48:33Speaker 3: Fenn is very good.
- 48:35Speaker 1: I'm not very good, but at the same time, like.
- 48:41Speaker 7: Are a lot better than Ciggy.
- 48:46Speaker 1: And should we move on to metal lines with mister Zach.
- 48:52Speaker 3: That sounds good.
- 48:53Speaker 6: That was a very elongated conversation about mooded deck construction
- 48:58Speaker 6: that got into or just beat them and so that
- 49:00Speaker 6: was that was amusing. I figure, I mean you should
- 49:04Speaker 6: just literally put in a for the for the show
- 49:06Speaker 6: like orders beat there will be done specifically.
- 49:10Speaker 4: But uh, that will be the last deckcon talk we
- 49:13Speaker 4: talked about on here there. The rest will be on
- 49:15Speaker 4: the Patreon sign up support us and we'll talk a
- 49:18Speaker 4: little bit more about that.
- 49:19Speaker 1: You know what else I think would be kind of cool,
- 49:21Speaker 1: mister z if you wanted to, you could also build,
- 49:26Speaker 1: because there is I've seen everybody sharing their decks build
- 49:29Speaker 1: build the thirty six and kind of put that up
- 49:32Speaker 1: there as you know, the the skeleton. Oh yeah, that is,
- 49:36Speaker 1: and you can post that picture over over on our
- 49:38Speaker 1: Patreon as well.
- 49:41Speaker 3: I can do that.
- 49:42Speaker 1: Yep, see offering patreons benefits by the second. Oh, but
- 49:48Speaker 1: Zach tell us about why Ortis is awesome. I feel
- 49:52Speaker 1: like this is a weekly segment. It's not even metal line,
- 49:54Speaker 1: it's just Zach tell us why Ortis is great.
- 49:57Speaker 6: It's it is the medal line because you know, war
- 49:59Speaker 6: is meta right now is the top of the meta.
- 50:01Speaker 6: I should say, yeah, yeah, So, so I wanted to
- 50:07Speaker 6: talk this week about loser bureaucrats, and you know I probably.
- 50:13Speaker 3: Ogre and Z.
- 50:14Speaker 6: You're like, oh, yeah, Robin Hood's biggest loser. No, no, no,
- 50:16Speaker 6: I'm talking about the ones that you purposely want to
- 50:19Speaker 6: fail an expedition.
- 50:20Speaker 1: I believe they used a different adjective to describe him.
- 50:23Speaker 3: I'm not that is true.
- 50:25Speaker 6: That is true, But in this case, I want to
- 50:27Speaker 6: talk about the monolith Leggo and the ortist attorney and
- 50:31Speaker 6: why these are good and when it's a good time
- 50:33Speaker 6: to use them, and.
- 50:35Speaker 3: So on and so forth.
- 50:35Speaker 6: So let's talk about what they do first. I know
- 50:37Speaker 6: that everybody might have a some background information if you're
- 50:39Speaker 6: if you are listening, you might have some background information.
- 50:41Speaker 6: But I just want to go for real quick. The
- 50:43Speaker 6: monolith leggo. It is two costs from hand to costs
- 50:46Speaker 6: reserve two one two stats. When my expedition fails to
- 50:50Speaker 6: move forward during dusk, stabotage after rest, why is that good? Specifically,
- 50:57Speaker 6: I'll bring up an instance that happened this week at
- 50:59Speaker 6: our local while I was playing against Dexter, who also
- 51:02Speaker 6: plays war Room and I held my legates for one
- 51:06Speaker 6: card specifically, and that was robin Hood because I knew
- 51:09Speaker 6: he was going to play it, because every time that
- 51:11Speaker 6: we play, somehow Dexter sees all three robin Hoods, so
- 51:14Speaker 6: he's a game top deck and son of a bitch
- 51:17Speaker 6: as well. So so I held onto my leg it
- 51:21Speaker 6: specifically for the turn that he played robin Hood. Excuse me,
- 51:25Speaker 6: the turn after right, if there was nothing else that
- 51:27Speaker 6: I could do with it, if he slept it, whatever,
- 51:30Speaker 6: you know, it was what it was. But knowing that
- 51:33Speaker 6: I was potentially going to lose that turn, I put
- 51:36Speaker 6: my legged out there slept it so that way, when
- 51:39Speaker 6: his robin Hood went to reserve, that was the card
- 51:41Speaker 6: that I was going to target, and I'll talk about
- 51:45Speaker 6: some of the benefits with that afterwards. But the other
- 51:47Speaker 6: card is, of course the Order's Attorney. We talked about
- 51:50Speaker 6: I think two weeks ago. The one that I played
- 51:53Speaker 6: my deck is the rare. Excuse me, the legged was
- 51:56Speaker 6: that common? The rare orders Attorney is two from hand
- 51:59Speaker 6: to from the reserve. Two's down the board for stats.
- 52:03Speaker 6: And of course, when my expedition fails to move forward
- 52:05Speaker 6: during dusk, draw a card. So why is it good
- 52:08Speaker 6: to play these quote unquote loser bureaucrats. We've already talked
- 52:12Speaker 6: about sometimes the effects that they're getting.
- 52:15Speaker 3: Off of them.
- 52:17Speaker 6: But the thing about warview is, you know you're going
- 52:19Speaker 6: to be playing those bureaucrats. You're going to be putting
- 52:21Speaker 6: them to sleep, right, so that way you're building a
- 52:23Speaker 6: board for next turn, you're also purposely losing a lane
- 52:29Speaker 6: where you might see that at specifically against like Sigasmar
- 52:33Speaker 6: if they're going to be putting a bunch of recruits
- 52:35Speaker 6: on one side or Kojo, you know, every other turn
- 52:38Speaker 6: they get the firecat or fire dog as he likes
- 52:41Speaker 6: to say. And there's some good stats right two to
- 52:44Speaker 6: two four, just playing first, if you sleep your attorney,
- 52:49Speaker 6: you sleep your legged it's you're going to have some
- 52:52Speaker 6: good stats on that turn, on the playturn that you're
- 52:55Speaker 6: going to have next turn. But you're also going to
- 52:57Speaker 6: get the benefits of the fact that they failed to
- 53:00Speaker 6: move forward. I believe there are some other bureaucrats as
- 53:04Speaker 6: well that do have some fails to move forward. I
- 53:07Speaker 6: play with one with Toath, that's another one. You know,
- 53:13Speaker 6: if your exhibition fails to move forward, create one or
- 53:15Speaker 6: two or more or just recruit tokens again, You're just
- 53:19Speaker 6: you're building a board for next turn. You're reaping the
- 53:22Speaker 6: benefits of the failing to move forward, and you're likely
- 53:27Speaker 6: going to have a really good set up the next
- 53:29Speaker 6: turn after that. I will say in Dexter, nice game.
- 53:33Speaker 6: I did leg it both of his robin hoods that
- 53:35Speaker 6: did come out of the board, and I knew I
- 53:36Speaker 6: could smell the third one coming. But we went to
- 53:39Speaker 6: arena before that, and because Dexter always goes to arena
- 53:42Speaker 6: to tiebreakers, and I did beat him there because I
- 53:46Speaker 6: had some sleeping units and he slept one of my
- 53:48Speaker 6: characters and I had like twenty levels worth of status
- 53:53Speaker 6: reach one of my things.
- 53:54Speaker 3: It was ridiculous.
- 53:55Speaker 4: But there's your next next segment. I always go to arena.
- 54:00Speaker 3: That's why that's.
- 54:05Speaker 5: Talking about things that fail. Do you not care about thoughts?
- 54:08Speaker 6: I said, thought, Yeah, I did bring him up. I
- 54:11Speaker 6: wanted to bring up the legged in the attorney too,
- 54:12Speaker 6: but yeah, thought is a good one because of and.
- 54:15Speaker 3: I did mentioned that. Thanks for paying attention.
- 54:18Speaker 6: If you know, if your if your expedition to move
- 54:20Speaker 6: moves forward, you're going to create tokens, and you know
- 54:24Speaker 6: Ortis is going to have a bigger state that next.
- 54:26Speaker 7: Turn makes it makes charge better and teamwork training better.
- 54:30Speaker 6: Absolutely, yeah, teamwork training, teamwork training. You you know, you
- 54:34Speaker 6: can remove a five or a seven or whatever. You know,
- 54:36Speaker 6: it's whatever it costs with charge, you know, you're just
- 54:40Speaker 6: you're making yourself a big wide board and a lot
- 54:45Speaker 6: of the opponents can deal with that. So yeah, there's
- 54:48Speaker 6: there are some very good loser bureaucrats that Waru does
- 54:54Speaker 6: want to play. And as we're kind of talked about,
- 54:57Speaker 6: and as we will continue to talk about, it's about
- 54:59Speaker 6: knowing when to play that and when to hold them
- 55:01Speaker 6: like that. I held leg it for robin Hood against Dexter.
- 55:05Speaker 6: You know, you know what's coming. You need to sabotage,
- 55:08Speaker 6: you need to get it out of there, and that's
- 55:10Speaker 6: what you use it for.
- 55:11Speaker 3: So that's I want to I want to point out
- 55:14Speaker 3: too that it's the Legate is another one of your many, many,
- 55:18Speaker 3: many anti turbo tools. You also played into me this
- 55:22Speaker 3: weekend and it did very, very effectively destroyed my early
- 55:27Speaker 3: game because the one of the things that the Legate
- 55:29Speaker 3: does with its with its sabotage that other decks don't
- 55:33Speaker 3: necessarily get access to, is that like when I play
- 55:36Speaker 3: into Bravos, right, They're they're sabotaging me still, but they
- 55:39Speaker 3: do it during the afternoon, which means that I still
- 55:43Speaker 3: get traced counters, so I'm not as upset about it.
- 55:46Speaker 3: I still obviously I would love to play the card,
- 55:48Speaker 3: but I'm getting something back, whereas with Leggot, you were
- 55:51Speaker 3: hitting me and war was always due, yeah, like at
- 55:56Speaker 3: the the end of the day. And that's probably a
- 56:00Speaker 3: lot of what I want to do is seating that
- 56:02Speaker 3: like that. The turbo loop is get things into reserve
- 56:07Speaker 3: that then when you play them, are going to stack
- 56:09Speaker 3: your reserve backup so that you can play those things
- 56:12Speaker 3: on your next turn. My ada's my salvagers whatever. When
- 56:18Speaker 3: I play Haven and it drops a card over there, Frankenstein,
- 56:22Speaker 3: all of it is filling my reserve backup as I
- 56:25Speaker 3: cycle cards out of it, turnoverturn. That's how I get value,
- 56:29Speaker 3: That's how I win the game. Leggot just says no, yep,
- 56:33Speaker 3: that it does take sabotage, yep.
- 56:37Speaker 6: And that was one of the things that we had
- 56:38Speaker 6: talked about, right, like, especially with the Sleeping Leggate. The
- 56:42Speaker 6: first time, it's going to fail, right because I'm going
- 56:45Speaker 6: to make a failing lane specifically, and that way I
- 56:49Speaker 6: get to pick what I'm going to sabotage, and then
- 56:52Speaker 6: the next day the legate's still there, and then you
- 56:55Speaker 6: have to decide if you're going to contend that or not.
- 56:57Speaker 6: And as we talked about before, like one of the
- 56:59Speaker 6: potential ways that you fight against war is Okay, well,
- 57:02Speaker 6: he specifically wants to lose this lane, so I'm just
- 57:04Speaker 6: gonna give him that lane, which is fine, right, warr
- 57:07Speaker 6: still advances on a lane for two one two stats,
- 57:09Speaker 6: That's fine. I'll take that any day of the week, right,
- 57:12Speaker 6: And then I can compete on the other lane. And
- 57:14Speaker 6: so it's you're definitely at a catch twenty two with
- 57:17Speaker 6: these failing excuse me, the the loser bureaucrats, because it's
- 57:22Speaker 6: you have to make the decision as the opponent whether
- 57:24Speaker 6: or not to let them fail and get the reward
- 57:27Speaker 6: or let Warroo move ahead, and then you're fighting on
- 57:30Speaker 6: the other Absolutely.
- 57:32Speaker 3: That's I wish that, like my my bitter blue feelings
- 57:36Speaker 3: is that I think that is the part of the
- 57:38Speaker 3: Waru puzzle that is really cool and interesting that like,
- 57:42Speaker 3: while I'm here, if if I if something bad happens,
- 57:47Speaker 3: I get an upside right, Like you may get a
- 57:49Speaker 3: lane advance, you're gonna win the tugger war over here.
- 57:53Speaker 3: But when you do that, I'm gonna take a little
- 57:55Speaker 3: bit off the top because to me, that's a super
- 57:58Speaker 3: cool puzzle and I enjoy interacting with Warus for that.
- 58:02Speaker 3: It's the it's the things like Robin Hood Counsel, some
- 58:06Speaker 3: of the ones wherether it's like it's literally just I
- 58:08Speaker 3: say no, but by existing, there's no like, there's not
- 58:14Speaker 3: a there's not a trade off there. Those things frustrate me.
- 58:17Speaker 3: But the the sleeping I guess we're calling them loser
- 58:21Speaker 3: bureaucrat puzzle. I really wish they had leaned harder into
- 58:24Speaker 3: that where more of WARU play was engineering the losing
- 58:29Speaker 3: lanes in a way that then funds the expedition on
- 58:33Speaker 3: your next turn. That's it's super cool.
- 58:36Speaker 6: I don't know if that would have been the way
- 58:38Speaker 6: because like to me, like as as a warroom player,
- 58:41Speaker 6: I like the exact same thing that you're talking about, right, Like,
- 58:44Speaker 6: where do I purposely fail in expedition so that way
- 58:47Speaker 6: I can benefit next turn? If they just leaned into
- 58:50Speaker 6: like okay, if these bureaucrats fail, they you know, here's
- 58:53Speaker 6: your benefit. It's literally gonna be probably back and forth
- 58:56Speaker 6: war war, right like, I'm gonna lose this light. Next turn,
- 58:59Speaker 6: I'm gonn win the other lane. I'm gonna lose this lane,
- 59:02Speaker 6: you know, and it just keeps, excuse me, back and forth.
- 59:03Speaker 6: You're gonna lose lanes, right like. I feel like that
- 59:07Speaker 6: makes the puzzle a little bit more simple as far
- 59:10Speaker 6: as that kind of goes, because then you're just trading
- 59:12Speaker 6: back and forth about which lane that you're losing purposely
- 59:15Speaker 6: or trying to lose. Obviously, your opponent can interject into that,
- 59:20Speaker 6: but I feel like if they did lean more into that,
- 59:23Speaker 6: it would make more decisions a little bit more simple.
- 59:26Speaker 6: But maybe not, we'll see. Yeah, that's the metal line
- 59:33Speaker 6: for this week.
- 59:35Speaker 3: Thank you, Zach.
- 59:36Speaker 1: Alrighty, time to move. I got you on Marketplace this week. Okay,
- 59:42Speaker 1: I've already googled it, so right now you're looking at
- 59:44Speaker 1: the Kickstarter version one hundred and fifty two bucks.
- 59:50Speaker 4: That's still Gamers Guild yeap.
- 59:52Speaker 1: Spell Gamers Guild and altered just regular old version eighty
- 59:58Speaker 1: four nine.
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: Nice, very good prices.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: I don't know if that went down from last year.
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: I feel like that went down.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: I think that's the same.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: I thought it was like ninety bucks last week for
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: some reason, I'm not sure, but eighty four dollars a box,
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: do you? You still can't shake a stick at eighty
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: four dollars for thirty.
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: Six packs a real good price because.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: Right now Magic I believe, is like one hundred and
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: fifty one hundred and sixty somewhere in there.
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: And then you wait, Now, one fifty one price is
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: pretty solid. As soon as that's gone, the next lowest
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: is in the two twenties or whatever.
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: So as soon as.
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: They're sold out, the next next step up is going
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: to cost you. So looks like they're a ninety eight
- 1:00:39Speaker 4: still available.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: Ninety eight go to Gamers Guild, not a sponsor Gamers Killed.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: If you'd like to sponsor the marketplace check, let us know,
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: talk to Z. But it's time to move on to events. So,
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: oh wait, who's taking over for coal this week? Is
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: that I'm feeling out? What do we got for events?
- 1:01:05Speaker 6: Well, it's not going to be the Cold Special, but
- 1:01:07Speaker 6: I will give it my best shot. For online events.
- 1:01:11Speaker 6: This past week, we of course had our ACE Tuesday
- 1:01:15Speaker 6: sponsored by AGAs Creative Company at Local Gaming store here
- 1:01:19Speaker 6: in Houston.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: Can we talk about this?
- 1:01:24Speaker 4: We should actually just ask the owner.
- 1:01:28Speaker 5: Pretty sure it's Ages.
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure it's Vegas.
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: No, well they're I think they are, like legit four
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: options here. Let's just so, actually, the way that it's
- 1:01:41Speaker 4: supposed to be pronounced, all of you are doing it wrong.
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: It's nobody likes saying that.
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: So why would it be?
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: Wasn't there used to be? Wasn't there used to be
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: a whole gaming company called Agus. Didn't they make like
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: Warlord TCG and.
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: Holy Cow Warlord deep references here?
- 1:02:11Speaker 6: Yeah, it doesn't there what you're showing their z like
- 1:02:13Speaker 6: it's a name.
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: It could be anything. I know.
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: Them.
- 1:02:18Speaker 8: Yes, well I have heard for the same word like
- 1:02:22Speaker 8: right and wrong ish each time aegis agis just uh egus,
- 1:02:30Speaker 8: I've heard all of these things.
- 1:02:32Speaker 6: Well it's it's because that ae right, It's yeah, yeah,
- 1:02:36Speaker 6: that's the that's the problem. So anyhow, this last Tuesday,
- 1:02:40Speaker 6: ACE hosted there Are our own online tournament. We ended
- 1:02:44Speaker 6: up having let me see, I think it was like
- 1:02:48Speaker 6: thirty something people show up, forty four close enough, forty
- 1:02:52Speaker 6: four people show up. We did have some no shows.
- 1:02:54Speaker 6: It did actually fill up. We did you know, of
- 1:02:57Speaker 6: course gonna have no shows because people are signing up
- 1:02:59Speaker 6: in might not make it.
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: So again.
- 1:03:03Speaker 6: Our Ace Tuesday event was sponsored by Aegus Egus. It
- 1:03:06Speaker 6: was sponsored by Julio of the local creative company store
- 1:03:10Speaker 6: We will ask him on.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: Saturday down by the down by the stockyard.
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: What No, I don't get that reference.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: The song dope, Me and Julio down by the Okay,
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: y'all are enough.
- 1:03:26Speaker 6: The winner this week was bigs D with the fire
- 1:03:29Speaker 6: Dog deck that he and talked about last week.
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I took the same deck I talked about, plated
- 1:03:35Speaker 4: as I discussed, and I took first. But like, before
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: you continue this, yep, the ass hat that I was
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: playing against four finals or semi finals or something, declared GG.
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: I don't know it.
- 1:03:49Speaker 6: Was a final because call on guy, he's a good guy.
- 1:03:53Speaker 6: He you you fought in the semi finals. Yes, you
- 1:03:57Speaker 6: did play against that.
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: I was playing against, declared DG. Yep, as in they
- 1:04:03Speaker 4: thought they had won the game. Yep before yep, I
- 1:04:08Speaker 4: won the game.
- 1:04:10Speaker 6: So the problem so as a as a harken back
- 1:04:14Speaker 6: to why I sook at Alter and I will said
- 1:04:16Speaker 6: key forge again, I did manna one of my robin
- 1:04:20Speaker 6: hoods at the very beginning of the game, because I thought, well,
- 1:04:22Speaker 6: I got to get out fast and I can't hold
- 1:04:24Speaker 6: on two fore cost cards at very beginning, but that
- 1:04:26Speaker 6: was a problem. And then I decided to put a
- 1:04:30Speaker 6: recruit course.
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: I think it was maybe the trooper.
- 1:04:34Speaker 6: On aside that I already had one, but I was
- 1:04:36Speaker 6: kind of trying to see in baiteout Z what he
- 1:04:38Speaker 6: had and he was able to intimidate my character on
- 1:04:43Speaker 6: the left lane. I can, yeah, the only character which
- 1:04:47Speaker 6: allowed him to win that lane instead of me, which
- 1:04:49Speaker 6: I thought that was going to be the game. It
- 1:04:52Speaker 6: was a very very tight game. It was a very
- 1:04:54Speaker 6: close game. But yes, I did pronounce its preemptive dd
- 1:05:00Speaker 6: it was. I thought it was. I thought I had
- 1:05:02Speaker 6: it in the bag, but nope.
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: I was literally in chat, we were in voice. I
- 1:05:06Speaker 4: was like, you, mofo, I'm going to beat your ass now.
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: And I did not know I was going to win.
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: He gave you tons of motivation, though, Oh it was.
- 1:05:13Speaker 6: It was a very close game. It was a very
- 1:05:15Speaker 6: close game, very good game, Yeah it was.
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: It was. I never would have Peggy for that kind
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: of behavior. Zach. Honestly, you're you're literally out Noble one.
- 1:05:26Speaker 6: Listen, listen, listen.
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: That's true.
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: Zach's kind of a preck all right. You know he
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: looks at you like, oh, look, I'm Zach, I'm nice,
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: Like why wouldn't I be nice? And then he just
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: like lays it on you and you're like, you know what, Zach,
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: you're not you're not friendly, and you kind of walk away.
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: We actually we had this conversation this weekend. He's increased
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: such a nice guy until you're sitting across from him
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: and he's shuffling that warrior deck here. There's a game
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: face that that turns on for about thirty minutes that
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: is a prey lie, and then he switches back and
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: then he's a nice guy again.
- 1:06:03Speaker 6: Well, I appreciate that.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: And I know that Zach. I know that guy. That guy. Yep,
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: it's true. It's hard. I've played and it literally it's
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: like there's a switch that flips and then all of
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: a sudden, when you're done, you're like oh, and like
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: you chuckle it off like it's nothing, but it's like
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: you're kind of a prick. Bro.
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: Well I'm not going to get on that train.
- 1:06:31Speaker 6: I'm on that that's fine, Wookie. No I I legitimately
- 1:06:36Speaker 6: thought I won the game. It was not a Dexter
- 1:06:38Speaker 6: style like I'm gonna play as many cards as I
- 1:06:39Speaker 6: can after I've won the game. No I I legitimately
- 1:06:42Speaker 6: thought I won. Hence the reason for the GGS. And
- 1:06:44Speaker 6: then it was like, Okay, we're just gonna go back
- 1:06:46Speaker 6: to for with GGS because you know whatever. But uh no,
- 1:06:50Speaker 6: it was yes, so Z did take that, and then
- 1:06:52Speaker 6: he did beat the kel On guy. The Keelon guy,
- 1:06:55Speaker 6: however you want to say that played a Warward deck.
- 1:06:58Speaker 6: That was a very very good match.
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: It was two.
- 1:07:01Speaker 6: Right down to the wire. It's it is what it is.
- 1:07:07Speaker 6: Let's see what else do we have. We had a
- 1:07:09Speaker 6: wall Wednesday. This last Wednesday, Pluca reigned supreme.
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: Again.
- 1:07:15Speaker 6: I did not spectat in these matches or anything more
- 1:07:18Speaker 6: than most playing with traced for axiom came in seconds.
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: I need to get some notes on that, because, like,
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: how in the world in this meta it to the
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: top with Tracey assume a lot of dodging, Like, I
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: don't know how Trace beats There are twelve twelve cards
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: in the core Waru deck that stomp on Trace, like
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: just innately stomp on it, so I assume that's a
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: lot of dodging over.
- 1:07:48Speaker 6: I did want to bring up one thing that they
- 1:07:50Speaker 6: had over on the A wall Server.
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: One of their.
- 1:07:55Speaker 6: Members, twam T A U M. Came up with the
- 1:07:59Speaker 6: website thirty nine cards dot com and if you go
- 1:08:02Speaker 6: to it's linked in the A wall server under tournament results.
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: It's awesome.
- 1:08:08Speaker 6: It has our stuff up there, it has a wall
- 1:08:10Speaker 6: stuff up there, it has some other stuff. It has
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: the Angers event that was back at the beginning of October.
- 1:08:17Speaker 6: It has looks like one in Leon also in France,
- 1:08:20Speaker 6: and then some other ones online, big numbers, very very
- 1:08:24Speaker 6: good results. It's some good stuff over there. It shows
- 1:08:27Speaker 6: who placed, what, shows deck list. It's really nice. Works
- 1:08:31Speaker 6: well on mobile, works well on PC. Very very nice website.
- 1:08:35Speaker 6: Shout out to twam over on the A Wall Server
- 1:08:38Speaker 6: for creating that website. Let's see what else. There are
- 1:08:43Speaker 6: a couple of local Texas events that Cole has in
- 1:08:46Speaker 6: Here Nowhere League starting up in San Antonio. It looks
- 1:08:50Speaker 6: like they are starting going to be playing for six
- 1:08:52Speaker 6: weeks starting on November second. I don't know if this
- 1:08:58Speaker 6: is online or in person, but if you are in
- 1:09:01Speaker 6: the San Antonio area. Look for the Nowhere Nowhere League
- 1:09:08Speaker 6: signing up. That's no as in that you know something.
- 1:09:12Speaker 6: Dragon's Layer in Austin is up on events on our website.
- 1:09:16Speaker 6: It's on Mondays, and there's also another place, Wonko's, is
- 1:09:21Speaker 6: also on Monday. All of these are on the Altered
- 1:09:24Speaker 6: Corner website. You can scroll down on the calendar and
- 1:09:27Speaker 6: see where there might be local events that we have.
- 1:09:31Speaker 6: And that's what I have for events recap for the week.
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: Very good. Cole would be proud.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: Alrighty, So I believe that's gonna do it for this week.
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: Thank you all for joining us in the chat as
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: you should every single Friday at eight thirty pm Central time.
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: You can find this show releasing every Tuesday or every
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: following Tuesday. I guess I should say check out our
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: Patreon that's brand new. Didn't have one of those before. Patreon,
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: dot com, Forward Slash Altered Corner. We'll be having some
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: tiers that you can sign up for as well as
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: something I'm gonna let z take this one down. You
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: explain the.
- 1:10:14Speaker 4: Things we know that are coming right now are as follows,
- 1:10:18Speaker 4: so we will continue. So we've talked about all of
- 1:10:21Speaker 4: the decklists. We will make a link to that core
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: decklist that we won't ever change, so that one will
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: stay static, so if we ever updated it, we'll get
- 1:10:30Speaker 4: a different one and a different link. Since you can
- 1:10:32Speaker 4: make multiple decks, so we'll have those up there on
- 1:10:35Speaker 4: the Patreon ones with maybe some notes about them on
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: the wall. As far as that goes, we will also
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: have the future deckconstruction episodes will all be in the
- 1:10:46Speaker 4: patrion because I'm going to move moving on to a
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: different deck con topic starting next week, and some of
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: this fault like as far as construction, as far as
- 1:10:55Speaker 4: like what kind of control elements to put in different
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: decks which could span across multiple facts and that kind
- 1:10:59Speaker 4: of but the other four factions and the breakdowns of
- 1:11:03Speaker 4: how to build those decks, we'll all be in the
- 1:11:06Speaker 4: Patreon And then as soon as we get thirty two
- 1:11:09Speaker 4: subscribers for the Patreon, we will have a tournament every
- 1:11:14Speaker 4: other month and the winner will win a box of
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: retail altered You're welcome to sign up if you are international.
- 1:11:24Speaker 4: Just all of them will be scanned digital open for
- 1:11:27Speaker 4: you and you can scan them through seeing or something
- 1:11:31Speaker 4: as far as that goes, because shipping to Europe is
- 1:11:35Speaker 4: hella expensive. But those are the three main things to
- 1:11:38Speaker 4: look forward to in the coming week months. For Patreon,
- 1:11:42Speaker 4: we're hoping to grow as we go, and of course
- 1:11:45Speaker 4: all that helps support us get more gear. Mainly it
- 1:11:48Speaker 4: helps us fund all the prize in here. We're not
- 1:11:52Speaker 4: making anything off of any of the show. Everything we
- 1:11:55Speaker 4: get as far as net stuff will go into just
- 1:11:57Speaker 4: improving different services we can provide to the community. At
- 1:12:02Speaker 4: some point we might even be able to host a
- 1:12:03Speaker 4: bigger type of event. Since pjay is a very good outlet,
- 1:12:08Speaker 4: we've been testing what it can and cannot do. I
- 1:12:11Speaker 4: could foresee something bigger in the future, depending on how
- 1:12:15Speaker 4: how the Patreon goes in the future.
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: Absolutely, and it's always thank you all for listening and
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: we'll see y'all gay but.
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: Not afraid to tell you to get it, keep it
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: to myself and to celebrate. It's that time Againbody to
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: grab your balloons and invite your friends. See bills back going, yes,
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: trap them in. Just look at me, everybody. I'm smiling
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: big on the road right now that I can't predict it.
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: Tell me trone that down, but I can't resist. Y'all
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: know if that sound better? Praise your fish. The search
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: begins im back, so enjoy the trip.
