- 2:09yeah, they also, it says Tuesday through Saturday,
- 2:13they do dinner from 4.30 to 10.
- 2:16So they close for a little siesta there
- 2:18from like 2.30 till they open again
- 2:22at 4.30. So basically, they're closed like
- 2:24two hours till they reopen.

- 3:40We'll also do a brief interview with one
- 3:43of the staff or owners there and talk

- 3:50So yes, check that out, guys.
- 3:52So this is Inspirations for Your Life.
- 3:54And the master weekly topic for Series 5,
- 3:57Show 30 is building the habits that shape
- 3:59an extraordinary life.
- 4:02How to strengthen your mind before challenges arrive.
- 4:06Series 5, Show 30, Episode 2.
- 4:08Welcome, everyone, to Inspirations for Your Life.
- 4:11I'm John C.
- 4:12Morley, serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing specialist, video producer,
- 4:17podcast host, coach, keynote speaker, graduate student at
- 4:22Montclair State University, a passionate lifelong learner, and
- 4:27now so grateful to be a published author.
- 4:30All right, guys.
- 4:31So life doesn't wait until we're ready before
- 4:34presenting challenges.
- 4:35Sorry about that.
- 4:37Unexpected setbacks, disappointments, difficult conversations, and moments of
- 4:44uncertainty are all part of the human experience.
- 4:48While we can't control every circumstance, we can
- 4:53prepare our minds for how we'll respond.
- 4:56Mental strength isn't something that appears overnight, guys.
- 5:01It's developed through daily choices, healthy thinking, emotional
- 5:08discipline, and the willingness to grow from every
- 5:11experience.
- 5:12Today, guys, I'm going to discover with you
- 5:15how preparing your mind before challenges arrives allows
- 5:19you to respond with confidence rather than fear
- 5:23and with purpose rather than panic.
- 5:27Number one, mental strength is developed.
- 5:31No one is born mentally strong.
- 5:33Like any other skill, resilience grows through repetition,
- 5:38consistent practice, and that's through our experience.
- 5:41Every challenge you overcome adds another layer of
- 5:46confidence and prepares you for the next opportunity
- 5:51to grow.
- 5:52Number two, preparation creates confidence.
- 5:56Confidence comes from knowing you've invested the time
- 6:00to prepare.
- 6:01When you've practiced, planned, and learned, uncertainty becomes
- 6:07far less intimidating.
- 6:09Preparation gives you a foundation to stand on
- 6:12when pressure increases.
- 6:15Number three, control your thoughts, guys.
- 6:18Your thoughts influence your emotions and your emotions
- 6:22influence your actions.
- 6:25Learning to direct your thinking toward possibility rather
- 6:29than fear helps you make better decisions.
- 6:33A disciplined mind creates a stronger future.
- 6:37Yeah, that's important.
- 6:38Discipline is key.
- 6:40Motivation is great, but motivation wanes based on
- 6:43our moods.
- 6:44Number four, guys, expect challenges.
- 6:46Life isn't meant to be free from obstacles.
- 6:52Accepting that challenges will come helps you respond
- 6:57calmly when they arrive.
- 7:00Preparation replaces surprise with confidence.
- 7:04Number five, stay emotionally steady.
- 7:07Emotions provide valuable information, but they shouldn't always
- 7:11control your decisions.
- 7:13Learning to pause before reacting allows you to
- 7:17think clearly and respond wisely.
- 7:20Emotional stability creates better outcomes.
- 7:24That's true, guys.
- 7:25Number six, perspectives change everything.
- 7:28Two people can experience the same setback and
- 7:31see it completely differently.
- 7:33One sees failure while another sees an opportunity
- 7:37to learn from.
- 7:38Your perspective often determines whether an obstacle becomes
- 7:44a stopping point or a stepping stone.
- 7:48Number seven, choose optimism.
- 7:50Optimism isn't pretending problems don't exist.
- 7:54It's believing that solutions can be found.
- 7:57Positive thinking encourages creative problem-solving and keeps
- 8:02your energy focused on progress rather than defeat.
- 8:08Number eight, stay solution-focused.
- 8:12Problems deserve attention, but solutions deserve your energy.
- 8:18Rather than dwelling on what's wrong, ask yourself
- 8:21what action you can take next.
- 8:25Every solution begins with one positive decision.
- 8:29Number nine, learn from setbacks.
- 8:32Every setback contains valuable lessons.
- 8:36If you're willing to look for them, failure
- 8:39isn't the opposite of success.
- 8:42It's often one of the greatest teachers you'll
- 8:44ever have.
- 8:46Experience creates wisdom, guys.
- 8:48Number 10, build resilience daily.
- 8:51Resilience isn't built solely during major life events.
- 8:56It's developed every day through small acts of
- 8:59discipline.
- 9:01Patience, adaptability, and perseverance.
- 9:05Daily habits prepare you for bigger challenges later
- 9:08on.
- 9:09Number 11, protect your mindset.
- 9:12Be mindful of what influences your thinking from
- 9:16the get-go.
- 9:16The conversations you have, the information you consume,
- 9:21and the people you surround yourself with all
- 9:25affect your outlook.
- 9:27Protect your mindset because it shapes your future.
- 9:31Number 12, focus on what you control.
- 9:35Many things remain outside your control, but your
- 9:40attitude, effort, preparation, and response always belong to
- 9:46you.
- 9:47Direct your energy toward what you can influence
- 9:51rather than worrying about what you cannot control.
- 9:54Number 13, stay adaptable.
- 9:57Life rarely unfolds exactly as we planned it
- 10:00to.
- 10:01This water was very good with the fresh
- 10:03lemon.
- 10:04Adaptability allows you to adjust without giving up
- 10:07flexible thinking.
- 10:08And this creates opportunities even when circumstances change
- 10:13unexpectedly.
- 10:15Number 14, confidence grows through action.
- 10:19Waiting to feel confident often delays progress.
- 10:25Confidence grows by taking action despite uncertainty.
- 10:31Every courageous step strengthens your belief in your
- 10:34own abilities.
- 10:36Number 15, practice patience.
- 10:39Meaningful growth takes time.
- 10:42Don't become discouraged because progress feels slow.
- 10:46Stay committed to the process.
- 10:50Continue improving and trust that consistent effort always
- 10:54produces results.
- 10:57Number 16, replace fear with preparation.
- 11:01Fear often grows from uncertainty, but preparation builds
- 11:06confidence.
- 11:08The more you learn, practice, and prepare, the
- 11:13less intimidating challenges become.
- 11:16You may never eliminate fear, but you can
- 11:19prevent it from controlling your decisions.
- 11:24Preparation allows courage to take the lead.
- 11:28Number 17, stay calm under pressure.
- 11:31I know that's easier said than done, but
- 11:33I want to tell you that it's not
- 11:35easy to do things, guys.
- 11:37Because, you know, we sometimes stop because we
- 11:41see a limit, okay?
- 11:43And that limit really is not a true
- 11:47limit.
- 11:48It's a facade that we put up, a
- 11:51limitation we've created that really isn't there.
- 11:54But when our mind says it's there, it's
- 11:56there.
- 11:57Number 17, stay calm under pressure, and pressure
- 12:00reveals how prepared you really are.
- 12:02Staying calm doesn't mean ignoring the situation.
- 12:06It means trusting yourself enough to think clearly
- 12:09before reacting.
- 12:11A steady mind finds solutions much faster than
- 12:15a panicked one.
- 12:17Number 18, learn continuously, guys.
- 12:20Every experience offers another opportunity to grow.
- 12:23Stay curious, ask questions, and look for lessons
- 12:28in both success and failure.
- 12:31Long times can be changed from the lifelong
- 12:36learning as we strengthen your confidence.
- 12:39Because every new skill expands your ability to
- 12:43solve future problems.
- 12:47Number 19, every setback teaches.
- 12:50Disappointments are rarely enjoyable.
- 12:52Sorry, guys.
- 12:53But they are often valuable.
- 12:56Setbacks expose weaknesses, reveal opportunities, and encourage better
- 13:02decisions.
- 13:03When you choose to learn instead of quitting,
- 13:08every obstacle becomes part of your growth story.
- 13:11Number 20, think long term.
- 13:14One difficult day doesn't define your future.
- 13:18We've all had times, you know, we come
- 13:19back, you know, we have a very long
- 13:21plate.
- 13:21And that can happen sometimes.
- 13:23The key is to just do what you
- 13:25can do.
- 13:26Try to get everything done.
- 13:27If you can't, get the rest done tomorrow.
- 13:30Sometimes we need a little bit of a
- 13:31break, right?
- 13:32That happens.
- 13:33Looking beyond today's challenges helps you stay motivated
- 13:38during temporary setbacks.
- 13:41Long-term thinking encourages patience and reminds you
- 13:45that meaningful success is built over, that's right,
- 13:50time.
- 13:51Number 21, keep improving, guys.
- 13:55There is always another opportunity to become better.
- 14:00Improvement isn't about perfection.
- 14:03It's about making steady progress.
- 14:07Through consistent effort, small improvements made daily eventually
- 14:12create an extraordinary transformation.
- 14:16Number 22, build emotional discipline.
- 14:19Emotional discipline helps you respond thoughtfully rather than
- 14:23react impulsively.
- 14:26It helps you remain focused, okay?
- 14:29And I think that's a very important thing
- 14:31during the uncertainty times.
- 14:34And it prevents temporary emotions from derailing us
- 14:38and making permanent decisions that we probably aren't
- 14:41going to be happy with.
- 14:42Emotional strength becomes one of our greatest advantages
- 14:46and assets.
- 14:46Number 23, please stay flexible, guys.
- 14:50Life rarely follows a perfect plan.
- 14:54There's no perfect time, no perfect people, no
- 14:56perfect place.
- 14:58Being flexible allows you to adjust without losing
- 15:03momentum.
- 15:05Sometimes changing your approach is exactly what helps
- 15:09you keep moving toward your goals.
- 15:12Number 24, keep believing in yourself.
- 15:16Self-belief grows through action.
- 15:19Every challenge you overcome reminds you that you're
- 15:24stronger and more capable than you once believed.
- 15:29And we said before that your belief creates
- 15:31your reality.
- 15:33Trust the progress you've made and continue building
- 15:37confidence through experience.
- 15:39Number 25, strength grows through experience.
- 15:44Reading about resilience is valuable, but living through
- 15:48challenges develops true strength.
- 15:52Every obstacle you overcome increases your confidence and
- 15:58prepares you for greater opportunities.
- 16:01Did you know that?
- 16:02Experience remains one of life's greatest teachers.
- 16:06I think sometimes people, they get derailed by
- 16:08that.
- 16:09They're like, well, I'm not ready for that
- 16:10lesson.
- 16:11And when you're not ready for a lesson,
- 16:13it's very hard to move forward because you
- 16:17don't understand what's going on or why something
- 16:19is going on.
- 16:20All you know is that a change is
- 16:22happening and you're not quite sure about what
- 16:25it is or why it's going on that
- 16:28way.
- 16:28Does that make sense?
- 16:32I think that's important.
- 16:37Does that make sense to everybody?
- 16:42Hopefully it does.
- 16:46I think sometimes we don't realize that the
- 16:52reason we're not moving forward isn't because of
- 16:55anybody else but ourself.
- 16:58You see, when we put in our head
- 17:00that we can't do something, Henry Ford says,
- 17:03and I have to give him the credit
- 17:04because he's the genius that came up with
- 17:05this.
- 17:06He said a long time ago, if we
- 17:08believe we can't, we're right.
- 17:09But if we can, we're also right.
- 17:13Those are powerful things.
- 17:14So our mind, from our perceptions, creates our
- 17:19reality.
- 17:21And our reality makes the difference to whether
- 17:25we're going to succeed or not.
- 17:27Number 26, guys, every challenge prepares you.
- 17:31I know you may not be in love
- 17:33with the challenges that pop up.
- 17:34I get it.
- 17:35I do get it.
- 17:36But I want you to know that these
- 17:39challenges are necessary for you to grow.
- 17:41I've said that when we grow, it's not
- 17:44comfortable.
- 17:45It's uncomfortable.
- 17:47Today's difficulties often become tomorrow's advantages and successes.
- 17:54Skills developed during hard times frequently create opportunities
- 17:58you never expected.
- 18:01Be flexible.
- 18:02Be open.
- 18:04It doesn't have to come in a brown
- 18:05paper bag.
- 18:06It doesn't have to come in a plastic
- 18:08container.
- 18:09It doesn't have to be at your local
- 18:12shopping store.
- 18:13It doesn't have to be on the computer.
- 18:16It doesn't have to be in person.
- 18:18Be open to things and opportunities that will
- 18:20show up in your life if you have
- 18:23that kind of an attitude.
- 18:24Every challenge adds another layer of wisdom and
- 18:31resilience to your life, okay?
- 18:36Number 27, please build inner confidence.
- 18:40Real confidence doesn't depend on applause or approval
- 18:45from others.
- 18:46That's what many people go after is that
- 18:49applause.
- 18:49And although there's nothing wrong with the applause,
- 18:52don't do what you do for the applause.
- 18:55I know I don't.
- 18:56I do it because I love to become
- 18:59better and I love to help other people
- 19:00become better versions of themselves.
- 19:03There's no magic trick here, guys.
- 19:07There is consistency and there is structure.
- 19:09And I've said that when you have structure
- 19:11and consistency, you will be successful.
- 19:13It comes from knowing you prepared, stayed consistent,
- 19:19and honored your commitments.
- 19:23Inner confidence remains steady because it's built from
- 19:27personal growth.
- 19:29And I think when something comes from personal
- 19:31growth, I know you're like, oh, I don't
- 19:32want to deal with that.
- 19:33But guess what?
- 19:35We're like, maybe that works.
- 19:36Maybe that actually works.
- 19:38And if that works that way, it's like,
- 19:40well, wait a minute.
- 19:40I actually can do something, all right?
- 19:43That's an important thing.
- 19:50I think some people don't understand that, okay?
- 19:56And I can tell you that a lot
- 19:58of people, for whatever reason, they get confused.
- 20:04And then they also give up when something
- 20:07is not in the package or in the
- 20:10flavor they're expecting.
- 20:11I'm using flavor.
- 20:12I'm using package.
- 20:15How you're expecting to come.
- 20:16It may not come the way you want
- 20:18it.
- 20:19I could be talking about business, opportunities, money.
- 20:23I could even be talking about relationships.
- 20:25Well, you know, I'm not going to meet
- 20:27my partner unless it's when I'm traveling.
- 20:31I don't ever want to meet my partner.
- 20:33I'm just making this up, okay?
- 20:35People have these weird things.
- 20:36I can meet my partner, but it can
- 20:38never be at a coffee shop, or it
- 20:41can never be at an airport, or it
- 20:43can never be at a business function.
- 20:50Those are key, guys.
- 20:52Those are the key.
- 20:53And so when you're saying, that's not what
- 20:57I want, you're also saying, I don't want
- 20:59it because you're not being open to how
- 21:01it could reach you.
- 21:02Number 28, guys, stay mentally strong.
- 21:04I know this is easier said than done.
- 21:07Mental strength is developed one decision at a
- 21:09time.
- 21:10Continue choosing positive habits, healthy thinking, and purposeful
- 21:16actions.
- 21:17A strong mindset helps you stay focused, even
- 21:21when circumstances become difficult.
- 21:25That's key, guys.
- 21:27I said that nothing was going to be
- 21:29easy.
- 21:29But if you know that nothing's going to
- 21:31be easy, you're going to be more able
- 21:33to understand it, okay?
- 21:36And by being more able to understand, like,
- 21:38oh, wait a minute, I actually get this.
- 21:40I actually understand this, right?
- 21:52I think sometimes people, you know, they rush
- 21:59through something because they feel if they rush
- 22:01through it, then everything else is going to
- 22:03be easy.
- 22:04No, it's going to be hard.
- 22:07So if you do the hard stuff first,
- 22:10this is what I've learned.
- 22:12You may not like it, but all the
- 22:14other stuff is going to be easier.
- 22:16Number 29, growth requires courage.
- 22:20Growth always asks you to leave what's comfortable
- 22:23and embrace what's possible.
- 22:26Courage isn't the absence of fear.
- 22:29It's the decision to continue moving forward despite
- 22:33uncertainty.
- 22:34Every courageous choice expands your potential horizons.
- 22:39Number 30, strong minds create strong lives.
- 22:43No secret there.
- 22:44Everything begins in your mind.
- 22:46A wise person once told me, John, if
- 22:49you want something in reality, you have to
- 22:51create it in the mind first, and then
- 22:53you create reality.
- 22:56And I didn't believe this until it actually
- 22:57started happening.
- 22:59You envision what you want, and then your
- 23:01mind is taking those steps.
- 23:03And you're like, oh, wait a minute.
- 23:04I didn't realize I was doing that.
- 23:06Your thoughts influence your choices, guys.
- 23:08Your choices become your habits, and your habits
- 23:12shape your future.
- 23:14Strengthening your mindset today creates opportunities you'll benefit
- 23:21from for years to come.
- 23:24As we close the show, I want to
- 23:26remind you to definitely check out Monica's.
- 23:28They're at monicasrestaurant.net.
- 23:32You can tell them you heard about them
- 23:34on the Inspirations for Your Life show, Jason
- 23:35Academy.
- 23:36And Monica's, if you're listening, I hope you'll
- 23:38go to Jason Academy.
- 23:39I hope you will invite us to host
- 23:43a show there at your location, and we
- 23:45can help build some community and tell your
- 23:46story.
- 23:47So ladies and gentlemen, challenges are unavoidable parts
- 23:50of life.
- 23:51But they don't have to control your future.
- 23:54When you strengthen your mind before adversity arrives,
- 23:57you develop the confidence, resilience, and emotional discipline
- 24:02to respond with clarity rather than fear.
- 24:05And what's fear?
- 24:06False evidence appearing real.
- 24:08I learned that from a friend of mine
- 24:09many years ago.
- 24:10Every positive thought, every lesson learned, every obstacle
- 24:14overcome, and every intentional decision becomes another brick
- 24:20in the foundation.
- 24:21It might be the cornerstone of a longer,
- 24:24stronger life.
- 24:25Remember, ladies and gentlemen, that mental strength isn't
- 24:28built in a single extraordinary moment.
- 24:30We've said this before.
- 24:31It's developed through hundreds of ordinary decisions made
- 24:35consistently over time.
- 24:37Even though we have different subtopics each day,
- 24:40some topics kind of interleave back to other
- 24:43things, kind of flash them back.
- 24:45Continue investing in your mindset, ladies and gentlemen.
- 24:48Protect your perspectives.
- 24:50Remain adaptable and trust that every challenge is
- 24:54preparing you for something greater.
- 24:57Your greatest growth often begins just outside your
- 25:02comfort zone.
- 25:03So push it.
- 25:05Thank you so much, ladies and gentlemen, for
- 25:06choosing to join me for another amazing episode
- 25:09of the ever-popular Inspirations for Your Life
- 25:12show that's almost on the air, basically over,
- 25:16well, it's going to be over five years
- 25:19in a few more months.
- 25:20December 31st, we will be over five years.
- 25:22That's a pretty important milestone to celebrate that.
- 25:29I think that's something a lot of people
- 25:30don't realize, but it definitely is important to
- 25:35understand.
- 25:36Ladies and gentlemen, I am Jon Seymour, serial
- 25:39entrepreneur, engineer, marketing specialist, video producer, podcast host,
- 25:45coach, keynote speaker, graduate student at Montclair State
- 25:48University, a passionate lifelong learner, and now so
- 25:53grateful to be a published author.
- 25:56Oh, my book, Training to Driven.
- 25:59Until next time, ladies and gentlemen, I want
- 26:02you to remember something, that a strong mind
- 26:05is built long before life's biggest tests arrive.
- 26:09So even if your test or your challenge
- 26:11hasn't shown up, it's never too late or
- 26:15too early to build a strong mind.
- 26:18You see, ladies and gentlemen, keep learning, okay?
- 26:25Keep preparing, keep believing in yourself.
- 26:32And I know those things sound like words,
- 26:36and it's easier to say it than to
- 26:38do it, but we're being truthful here.
- 26:41And the next part's not easy, but I
- 26:46really want you to embrace this with your
- 26:48whole heart, mind, and body.
- 26:51Please, please, please continue building the habits
- 26:59that shape an extraordinary life, because the strongest
- 27:07version of you is created one thought, one
- 27:16choice, and one day at a time.
- 27:24So let's enjoy our moments together.
- 27:27Let's be mindful of the time we have.
- 27:31We may not be able to get more
- 27:33time in life, but we can put more
- 27:36life in our time.
- 27:38And when we do that, our time will
- 27:40slow down and we'll appreciate what's going on.
- 27:46I know these just sound like words, but
- 27:48when you truly put this into your mind
- 27:52and you practice it, your world changes.
- 27:56Again, I'm John C.
- 27:57Morley, serial entrepreneur.
