- 0:05Speaker 1: suitable for all audiences. Listener discretion is advised.
- 0:09Speaker 2: The World's a pigeon Podcas.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. I'm all ears. I'm hoping that
- 0:22Speaker 3: there's an explanation. I can't imagine what it would be.
- 0:25Speaker 4: Answer your question of what is his case? Negligence just pure.
- 0:29Speaker 3: I had no idea what was going on, So it
- 0:31Speaker 3: sounds to me like they were ready to cut him,
- 0:33Speaker 3: and then they the Patriots reconsidered from what she said.
- 0:36Speaker 5: From what she said, that's what she.
- 0:38Speaker 4: Said, And he's not going to have Rose Capaccio standing
- 0:41Speaker 4: next to him when he talks to us after training camp.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Prag or Guy Fieri is some calling to humble Brag.
- 0:48Speaker 5: I was doing the TV show Friday night with NBC
- 0:51Speaker 5: Sports Plus. Obviously seven other people canceled HI because I
- 0:54Speaker 5: got the call on Friday.
- 0:56Speaker 3: But GAROPPOLOI which letter is double? I have anmonic device
- 1:00Speaker 3: that he has two P two peah.
- 1:03Speaker 5: That's how I always remember it. He has to peek.
- 1:10Speaker 3: But I really do think he spells his name incorrectly
- 1:13Speaker 3: because Polo is Italian for chicken, right.
- 1:16Speaker 5: But why does it have to be that he's it's
- 1:18Speaker 5: supposed to be chick.
- 1:19Speaker 3: It's chicken, that's Italiant. I know what it means, Ryan
- 1:23Speaker 3: and Dublin. Paul said on Thursday show and that he
- 1:26Speaker 3: hopes Jack Jones pops off this coming year. I'm pretty
- 1:29Speaker 3: sure if this wasn't the poppy was thinking.
- 1:31Speaker 5: Of, this is Patriots unfiltered.
- 1:36Speaker 3: All right, welcome the Patriots unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 1:39Speaker 3: at Jillette Stadium, and we're talking Patriots for the next
- 1:43Speaker 3: two hours. It's Tamara, it's Evan Paul, myself. Deuce is
- 1:48Speaker 3: in l A, soon to be in Hawaii. I was correct,
- 1:52Speaker 3: and I said he's on his way to Hawaii, not tomorrow.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Jumped down my throat.
- 1:56Speaker 5: I didn't know. She always does that.
- 1:59Speaker 6: I know, Oh my god, Jesus.
- 2:00Speaker 3: But he is beginning the journeys which will eventually end
- 2:05Speaker 3: up in Hawaii, so with his family, so good for him.
- 2:09Speaker 3: But we're here, we're talking to patriots.
- 2:11Speaker 5: I could have used as Marcus smart trade analysis. I
- 2:14Speaker 5: was the Celtics.
- 2:15Speaker 6: I was about to say, I don't think that we're
- 2:18Speaker 6: about to be talking patriots for two hours, because for
- 2:20Speaker 6: the past fifteen minutes, I've listened to you guys just.
- 2:22Speaker 4: Talk about the Celtics in Red, Soize and Red the
- 2:25Speaker 4: teams that are actually relevant.
- 2:27Speaker 5: That off time for the Patriots on it.
- 2:30Speaker 3: It truly is the dog days of the NFL right now,
- 2:34Speaker 3: you know, uh, no new you know, the Jack Jones thing.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Thank god for the Celtics trade because that kind of
- 2:41Speaker 3: knocked Jack Jones off the airwaves. But right now, you know,
- 2:46Speaker 3: there's nothing really to talk about with that situation because
- 2:49Speaker 3: the next thing is really training camp. Does he come,
- 2:52Speaker 3: does he report? What? What are what's the Patriots next
- 2:56Speaker 3: move regarding this? And it's just to wait and see
- 2:59Speaker 3: kind of Do you.
- 3:00Speaker 5: Think there'll be some kind of news regarding that that
- 3:03Speaker 5: situation between now and camp.
- 3:06Speaker 3: With the Patriots? Yeah, well, no, you mean from the
- 3:10Speaker 3: Patriots side, the NFL side, What do you mean, any side.
- 3:13Speaker 5: Any side, any further ring of the Jack Jones situation
- 3:17Speaker 5: between now and camp.
- 3:18Speaker 3: I don't think.
- 3:19Speaker 5: I don't know what it is. I think something will
- 3:23Speaker 5: you know, either Goodell will chime in, the Patriots will
- 3:26Speaker 5: suspend him, they'll release him, or do you think something
- 3:29Speaker 5: will come out, you know in terms of what the
- 3:31Speaker 5: you know the case.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Yeah, but do you think that the Patriots, if they
- 3:35Speaker 4: if it's a team suspension, we're never gonna hear about
- 3:37Speaker 4: it until we get out there and training campan is
- 3:40Speaker 4: not there.
- 3:41Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't think so. I think someone will know.
- 3:44Speaker 4: So you think will be reported, but it's not. We're
- 3:46Speaker 4: not like Patriots are not going to say like we didn't.
- 3:48Speaker 5: We didn't find out last year that Jake Bailey and
- 3:50Speaker 5: Jack Jones got suspended because we went out to practice
- 3:53Speaker 5: and they weren't there, like people reported on it. Yeah, someone,
- 3:59Speaker 5: it won't be me.
- 4:00Speaker 6: Yeah, I think.
- 4:01Speaker 3: Well, but if we get to training camp and Jack
- 4:03Speaker 3: Jones isn't on the field, the Patriots have told him
- 4:06Speaker 3: you can't.
- 4:06Speaker 5: Be here, right, But that's I'm saying. Between now and camp,
- 4:10Speaker 5: I think there'll be something that comes up, some kind
- 4:12Speaker 5: of update to the story.
- 4:13Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 4:14Speaker 6: Really. Yeah, I feel like they won't release him until
- 4:18Speaker 6: that August eighteenth day, because like I meant, until something
- 4:21Speaker 6: is definitely like set in stone. I feel like I
- 4:23Speaker 6: wouldn't see them releasing him, but suspension I can definitely see.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Yeah. I think they'll wait to see get all the
- 4:29Speaker 3: facts out.
- 4:30Speaker 5: Yeah, And I think when they get the facts we'll
- 4:32Speaker 5: have an update on the story. Yeah, and I don't
- 4:34Speaker 5: think that will take to August eighteenth.
- 4:35Speaker 4: Okay, I would just be really I'm trying to think
- 4:38Speaker 4: of scenarios where it makes sense for the Patriots to
- 4:41Speaker 4: put him on the practice field in training camp, and
- 4:44Speaker 4: I just I'm hard pressed to find a reason for that.
- 4:48Speaker 4: I think mainly because then it becomes a monumental distraction
- 4:52Speaker 4: that he's out there and kind of a secondary to
- 4:56Speaker 4: that he's going to talk at some point.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Well, let's say this. Let's say they get the facts.
- 5:02Speaker 3: The facts are good, the facts are favorable to Jack Jones.
- 5:05Speaker 3: So you put him out there knowing the facts, and
- 5:08Speaker 3: then you tell Jack Jones when you become available, you
- 5:11Speaker 3: can't talk about it. You can't legally. All you have
- 5:15Speaker 3: to say is I'm not going you know, I'll have
- 5:17Speaker 3: my day in court, but I'm not talking about.
- 5:19Speaker 6: That was DeShawn I feel like he was still showing
- 5:22Speaker 6: up to practice it before he was able to speak.
- 5:24Speaker 5: Yeah, I just don't constant updates every step along the
- 5:27Speaker 5: way that the next five weeks you're gonna get nothing.
- 5:31Speaker 4: I just don't know if that's it.
- 5:32Speaker 3: You had women coming out that was different and he
- 5:36Speaker 3: was talking, I know, but that, but other people were
- 5:39Speaker 3: advancing that story besides him.
- 5:41Speaker 5: This is well, that's what I'm I'm not saying the
- 5:43Speaker 5: Patriot's going to be responsible for the furthering of the story.
- 5:46Speaker 3: I know.
- 5:47Speaker 5: I mean, just you know, hear me out here. But
- 5:50Speaker 5: I have a feeling that the lawyer is not just
- 5:52Speaker 5: going to go quietly into that good night based off
- 5:54Speaker 5: what I heard the other day.
- 5:55Speaker 3: Well, I don't think, Yeah, I don't think she's going
- 5:57Speaker 3: to say anything until it's time. But we'll see, we'll see.
- 5:59Speaker 3: I don't no, no one knows.
- 6:01Speaker 5: I think she wakes up yelling at people. I just.
- 6:04Speaker 4: I think that, unfortunately, and this is sort of what
- 6:07Speaker 4: ros Capaccio was getting at. And I'm not going as
- 6:09Speaker 4: far as she went and saying that people were calling
- 6:12Speaker 4: him a thug and a gangster and stuff like that.
- 6:13Speaker 3: I don't.
- 6:14Speaker 4: I don't know how how much of that I actually
- 6:16Speaker 4: really saw. But regardless of that, the court of public
- 6:19Speaker 4: opinion is, especially on social media, is just so instant
- 6:24Speaker 4: and so strong that regardless of if there's great evidence
- 6:27Speaker 4: that supports his claim that he had nothing to do
- 6:30Speaker 4: with this, some people have already made up their minds.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Oh yeah, And I just don't know how you avoid
- 6:37Speaker 4: that being in even if the evidence comes out, even
- 6:40Speaker 4: if the case gets dropped, you know, between now in
- 6:44Speaker 4: August eighteen, which is not but I'm just saying in theory.
- 6:46Speaker 5: That would change my mind. That's serious. If the case
- 6:49Speaker 5: was dropped like they the state didn't think they had
- 6:52Speaker 5: any you know, it's a federal crime, right, I would
- 6:54Speaker 5: think in national if they dropped the charges because they
- 6:59Speaker 5: didn't think anything was there, that would certainly shut me up.
- 7:01Speaker 5: And so maybe that what if he please out, that
- 7:05Speaker 5: wouldn't change my line, right. So this is my point though,
- 7:08Speaker 5: is that, like you know, we all have an opinion
- 7:11Speaker 5: on it. We're kind of paid to have an opinion
- 7:13Speaker 5: on it. But other people have an opinion on it
- 7:15Speaker 5: just in general. And I find it hard to believe
- 7:18Speaker 5: that there's going to be a resolution that's going to
- 7:21Speaker 5: put the Patriots in a good light if he's out
- 7:23Speaker 5: there for training down. I don't think it'll be a
- 7:24Speaker 5: resolution necessarily. I just think that we're going to get
- 7:27Speaker 5: more of the attempt to sort of obfuscate the facts
- 7:33Speaker 5: that we got on Tuesday. Well, don't pay attention to
- 7:37Speaker 5: this court case over here. Look at Twitter and someone
- 7:41Speaker 5: found like in the span of like five days and
- 7:46Speaker 5: like hundreds of thousands of tweets, four people use the
- 7:49Speaker 5: word thug right or something like that.
- 7:52Speaker 3: No, that was definitely a tactic on it.
- 7:54Speaker 4: Oh yeah, you know.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Yeah. But so we don't have any more information as
- 7:59Speaker 3: you know, Tuesday, So we'll move on, uh to other things.
- 8:05Speaker 3: But when it comes to the Patriots, there aren't a
- 8:07Speaker 3: lot of other things. I do think we're gonna announce
- 8:11Speaker 3: the first few days of training camp today. Don't know
- 8:13Speaker 3: if we've done it yet, but look at you know,
- 8:16Speaker 3: keep up with Patriots dot com today because I think
- 8:19Speaker 3: there'll be a training camp announcement as to when the
- 8:22Speaker 3: first three or four days of practice will be.
- 8:24Speaker 6: Who are your sources? Fred?
- 8:26Speaker 3: Uh? Well I work here?
- 8:28Speaker 5: Wow? Yeah, how long were you the sources?
- 8:31Speaker 4: Fred?
- 8:34Speaker 3: No, I know they're working on it is. So check
- 8:37Speaker 3: Patriots dot com today. That'll be announced today.
- 8:39Speaker 5: Not necessarily anything new here in terms of news, and
- 8:42Speaker 5: we've talked about heading to Green Bay and Nashville to
- 8:47Speaker 5: do joint practices. We've sort of speculated on that. The
- 8:50Speaker 5: Globe actually wrote it as fact, and I'm not sure
- 8:53Speaker 5: that that had been yeah, sort of announced by by
- 8:58Speaker 5: the Patriots or green Bay. I think Tennessee did, because
- 9:01Speaker 5: I think Rabel did say something about the plans to
- 9:04Speaker 5: do joint practices with Tennessee. But I hadn't seen anybody
- 9:08Speaker 5: do that for Green Bay. But the Globe wrote it
- 9:10Speaker 5: earlier in the week that that that's happening. Yeah, the
- 9:13Speaker 5: Patriots are going to be joint practices in green Bay
- 9:15Speaker 5: and in National.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Don't but don't you think it's unlikely that we'll have
- 9:18Speaker 3: three joint practices with threats two? Okay, Bay and so okay?
- 9:24Speaker 4: So Bill Bill confirmed Tennessee Okay. When he was asked
- 9:28Speaker 4: about Rabel going into the Patriots Hall of Fame, he
- 9:30Speaker 4: confirmed that that. He said, like, we'll be working with
- 9:33Speaker 4: the Titans and we're looking forward to that. So that
- 9:35Speaker 4: one has been confirmed by both head coaches. Now, I yeah,
- 9:38Speaker 4: I didn't know that the Packers one was official.
- 9:41Speaker 5: I agree. I hadn't seen anybody from the Patriots or
- 9:45Speaker 5: the Packers say that. But in the Globe, I want
- 9:47Speaker 5: to say, on Wednesday, maybe Tuesday or Wednesday, they had
- 9:52Speaker 5: I mean just was written, not citing the source, just
- 9:55Speaker 5: written matter of factly. Now I think it's correct but
- 9:58Speaker 5: I hadn't seen that announced by anybody. The first game
- 10:00Speaker 5: is against Houston Fred. There are no joint practices scheduled
- 10:03Speaker 5: for the.
- 10:04Speaker 4: PA, so the Packers game is on a Saturday, right, Yeah,
- 10:08Speaker 4: So my question is is usually they do it's three
- 10:12Speaker 4: practices with one team and only two like usually they
- 10:14Speaker 4: don't do back to back weeks of three full practices
- 10:17Speaker 4: of joint practices, I feel like, so I just wonder
- 10:20Speaker 4: how they stagger that. And then because if we're gonna
- 10:23Speaker 4: do three practices with the Titans, that game is on Saturday,
- 10:26Speaker 4: the Packers game, are they gonna turn the plane right
- 10:29Speaker 4: around and go but down to Nashville a day later?
- 10:32Speaker 4: Like how you know there? That's gonna be an interesting
- 10:36Speaker 4: little little scheduling time crunch there of how exactly they're
- 10:39Speaker 4: gonna stagger.
- 10:40Speaker 5: Saturday is Green Bay?
- 10:42Speaker 4: Then you because Tennessee they play Tennessee on Friday, right,
- 10:46Speaker 4: so they want to.
- 10:46Speaker 5: Fit in you go home, So you would go home
- 10:49Speaker 5: Saturday night, Sunday morning, and then you know treatment whatever Monday,
- 10:54Speaker 5: if you fly to Nashville for practices Tuesday and Wednesday? Wednesday, right,
- 10:59Speaker 5: because that's say would be a walk through day. And
- 11:01Speaker 5: then Friday, right, what you'd be doing.
- 11:04Speaker 4: So you'd only so they'd probably only be doing two practices,
- 11:07Speaker 4: is my guess. In Tennessee.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Well, that could be part of why they haven't announced
- 11:10Speaker 3: it officially yet with Green Bay because they're trying to
- 11:13Speaker 3: figure that out.
- 11:14Speaker 5: Yeah, and I will say that Globe Peace did have
- 11:16Speaker 5: the dates of the practices. Again, I don't know if
- 11:19Speaker 5: they're accurate or not, but.
- 11:21Speaker 4: It's just a difficult because it's both weeks are on
- 11:24Speaker 4: the road, and there's only six days in between the
- 11:27Speaker 4: games themselves, and I just would it's just surprising because
- 11:32Speaker 4: I would think that they would if they are going
- 11:33Speaker 4: to do three practices of joint practice with another team,
- 11:36Speaker 4: you'd think they would want to do it with Vrabel
- 11:37Speaker 4: and not do it with the Packers, who they're less
- 11:39Speaker 4: familiar with. But it looks like it might be the opposite.
- 11:42Speaker 4: It might be three with the Packers and two with
- 11:44Speaker 4: the Titans.
- 11:46Speaker 3: Well, so we get that to look forward to at
- 11:50Speaker 3: the end of the summer.
- 11:52Speaker 4: What else, there was a little Diana Russini update on
- 11:56Speaker 4: DeAndre Hopkins situation. She all also said to be patient
- 12:02Speaker 4: with the situation, that he's going to take his time,
- 12:04Speaker 4: but she said that he's mulling offers from the Titans
- 12:07Speaker 4: and the Patriots and and made it sound like it's still,
- 12:10Speaker 4: to her knowledge, a two horse race. You know, there's
- 12:13Speaker 4: no yet, there's no third team that's come in or
- 12:17Speaker 4: anything like that, and that he has two contracts on
- 12:20Speaker 4: the table from both teams that he's he's working a
- 12:24Speaker 4: decision on at the moment. So I think that's good
- 12:27Speaker 4: news if you're a Patriots fan that wants de Andre
- 12:29Speaker 4: Hopkins that there's it might not be as open ended
- 12:31Speaker 4: as like another team jumping in or something like that.
- 12:34Speaker 3: At least doesn't the Tyreek Hill situation sound like it's
- 12:37Speaker 3: going to amount to anything or is it?
- 12:40Speaker 5: But that's another reason why he wouldn't be on my team.
- 12:43Speaker 5: It's funny that I used him as my example on Tuesday,
- 12:46Speaker 5: and like, I know how great he is, and at
- 12:48Speaker 5: this point, he's probably proven so much as a player
- 12:51Speaker 5: in the league that it's going to take a lot
- 12:53Speaker 5: to get them removed.
- 12:55Speaker 4: But yeah, it was weird because that story, they initially
- 12:58Speaker 4: said that the person wasn't going to press charges, and
- 13:01Speaker 4: then the police investigation happened, and now all of a sudden,
- 13:05Speaker 4: the person is going to press charges. So my guess
- 13:07Speaker 4: is that person is just trying to get some money
- 13:09Speaker 4: out of tying Kale.
- 13:10Speaker 5: And there were some reports I think late last night
- 13:13Speaker 5: or early this morning that said that it was the
- 13:16Speaker 5: case was closed, that the police was no longer investigating,
- 13:20Speaker 5: and now some people are saying that that's not accurate,
- 13:23Speaker 5: that it is still an ongoing investigation. So who knows.
- 13:26Speaker 3: I'm sure the other teams in the AFC East are
- 13:29Speaker 3: contributing to uh. Yeah, and could you look into this
- 13:32Speaker 3: a little bit.
- 13:32Speaker 4: It doesn't sound like spend year and you.
- 13:35Speaker 5: Don't know who I am kind of deal. Yeah, came
- 13:37Speaker 5: in telling everybody that you could buy and sell them.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Yeah. And then locally, you know with the other team,
- 13:43Speaker 3: big trade for the Celtics, Bazina coming to Boston.
- 13:48Speaker 4: Like JJ Smith Schuster now yeah, and.
- 13:51Speaker 5: You would never say Smith Schuster.
- 13:53Speaker 3: Marcus Marcus Smart leaving town. So that's creating ripples and
- 13:58Speaker 3: team Green of Some people think it's great.
- 14:02Speaker 5: Other people, you know, we don't have to spend time
- 14:04Speaker 5: and analyzing the trade. But can you think of a
- 14:06Speaker 5: player that is that polarizing. Yeah, well, the opinions of
- 14:12Speaker 5: that one individual guy are so different.
- 14:16Speaker 4: It's a tough it's a tough situation too, because he
- 14:19Speaker 4: had success with the Celtics, but he never won a championship.
- 14:22Speaker 4: So it's not didn't it's not.
- 14:24Speaker 5: My Twitter timeline would tell me a different story.
- 14:27Speaker 4: It's not quite like you know, I saw like Tom
- 14:30Speaker 4: curR and like compared him to Lawyer Maloy. But but
- 14:33Speaker 4: lawyer I.
- 14:35Speaker 5: Came really close to. I came really close to responding
- 14:38Speaker 5: to that by saying only only Maloy was good. Yeah,
- 14:43Speaker 5: but I was like, I don't need to get there's.
- 14:44Speaker 4: Other there's other people have compared it to No Mar maybe,
- 14:49Speaker 4: but No Mar. It wasn't hated like No Ma had.
- 14:51Speaker 4: There was no he was like the best player in
- 14:54Speaker 4: the league. But there was also just no like group
- 14:58Speaker 4: of Red Sox fans that dislike No Mar as far
- 15:00Speaker 4: as I remember, not like I thought I can recall.
- 15:02Speaker 5: I mean, he was.
- 15:03Speaker 4: Beloved here for most of the time that he was
- 15:05Speaker 4: with the Red Sox.
- 15:06Speaker 3: So yeah, I don't know, I don't I don't know
- 15:08Speaker 3: who to compare him to. I just know that he
- 15:12Speaker 3: definitely thought he was a lot better than he was,
- 15:15Speaker 3: and I think a lot of fans think he's a
- 15:17Speaker 3: lot better than he actually was is he as bad
- 15:20Speaker 3: as some fans like Paul.
- 15:23Speaker 5: And I'd be willing to admit that he's not as
- 15:26Speaker 5: bad as I think he is, and he's not as
- 15:28Speaker 5: good as his supporters thinking.
- 15:30Speaker 3: But I do think that the team needs to shake up.
- 15:32Speaker 3: They're stuck in this kind of you know, spin cycle
- 15:36Speaker 3: of getting close but not being able to get over
- 15:39Speaker 3: the hump.
- 15:39Speaker 6: I do wonder without their coach situation that happened this year,
- 15:43Speaker 6: if if things would have ended differently because there was
- 15:45Speaker 6: like speculation about their locker room like not recovering from that.
- 15:49Speaker 4: But but I think that that Marcus was a big
- 15:52Speaker 4: reason why.
- 15:53Speaker 5: That's why.
- 15:54Speaker 4: Yeah, And I think that that's a lot of the
- 15:56Speaker 4: things that we heard all season long and were that
- 16:00Speaker 4: Marcus Smart continued to talk about im Adoka continued to
- 16:04Speaker 4: talk about that situation and his voice in that locker
- 16:08Speaker 4: room was so powerful that he was basically the leader.
- 16:12Speaker 3: Well forget about that he said in public about his
- 16:16Speaker 3: coach in the situation. It's just not helpful, not helpful.
- 16:20Speaker 4: I think for me as a Celtics fan, it's like
- 16:23Speaker 4: two things. It's one, I don't mind moving on from
- 16:26Speaker 4: Marcus Smart. I don't mind acquiring Chris STAPs. Porzingis just
- 16:30Speaker 4: the optics of the way that the trade went down
- 16:33Speaker 4: when it was originally supposed to be brogged in and
- 16:35Speaker 4: then they had to pivot to Smart because the Clippers
- 16:37Speaker 4: pulled out. It looks you gave up a lot more
- 16:41Speaker 4: now like when it was just Broaden and picks for Porzingis.
- 16:44Speaker 4: I was like, oh, that's a great trade for the Celtics.
- 16:46Speaker 5: You have take the health. Yeah.
- 16:49Speaker 4: Yeah, Now it's smart.
- 16:53Speaker 5: Player than Smart. But if you can't play, then he's
- 16:55Speaker 5: not a better player than Smart. He can't play.
- 16:57Speaker 4: I mean, I don't know. I don't know if he's
- 16:59Speaker 4: a bear scorer than Smart.
- 17:01Speaker 5: I think everything he's he's a better defensive players. Smart
- 17:06Speaker 5: is a liability on defense, I know, and I think
- 17:08Speaker 5: he's a better defensive player than Smart. I'll tell you
- 17:13Speaker 5: the thing. You always say that, like I always say
- 17:15Speaker 5: that he can't do anything. I'll tell you the thing.
- 17:18Speaker 5: I've said it a million times. When he plays a
- 17:21Speaker 5: certain way, he's extremely valuable, and that is moving the ball.
- 17:25Speaker 5: When he wants to look for his offense, he does
- 17:27Speaker 5: it in the paint. Because I think he can play
- 17:29Speaker 5: bully ball against guards with the best of them in
- 17:32Speaker 5: that league. I think when he wants to get the
- 17:34Speaker 5: ball to the basket, he's tough around the basket, he
- 17:37Speaker 5: can finish, he's a good free throw shooter. He can
- 17:40Speaker 5: be a complimentary piece offensively if he wants to be.
- 17:44Speaker 5: And there are times when he does that. He did
- 17:46Speaker 5: it a little bit in the early in the Philadelphia series,
- 17:49Speaker 5: then he stopped, and he did it a little bit
- 17:51Speaker 5: in the Miami series, and he stopped. I don't know
- 17:53Speaker 5: if it's because of injuries. That's that's a hard way
- 17:55Speaker 5: to live like that. That's grinding, Like I mean, that's
- 17:59Speaker 5: that's a grinding way for a guard to constantly take
- 18:02Speaker 5: a pounding inside. But when he does that, he can
- 18:05Speaker 5: be really effective.
- 18:06Speaker 3: But I and I, but I think he's a plus
- 18:08Speaker 3: defensive player.
- 18:09Speaker 5: Not last year. He wasn't.
- 18:10Speaker 6: No.
- 18:10Speaker 4: Last year his defense went down, for sure, but he
- 18:13Speaker 4: was still an average too above out.
- 18:15Speaker 3: The year before he was defensive Player of the I
- 18:18Speaker 3: know what he was, you know, the best defensive player
- 18:20Speaker 3: on his team.
- 18:21Speaker 5: But I know what he won. I get it.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Yeah, So like, yeah, he wasn't as good as the
- 18:25Speaker 3: year before, but he's still he's a flashy, better than
- 18:28Speaker 3: average and to throw a chest into you.
- 18:30Speaker 4: It definitely at.
- 18:32Speaker 3: Okay, But he's he's always in the mix, and I
- 18:34Speaker 3: think in this league he's a better than average defensive
- 18:37Speaker 3: player because there's not a lot of guys willing to
- 18:39Speaker 3: play defense.
- 18:40Speaker 6: So has anyone checked on Alex?
- 18:42Speaker 5: I didn't, No, no, no.
- 18:46Speaker 3: She she tweeted. She said, if if Marcus is gone,
- 18:49Speaker 3: I'm gone, and she tweeted a picture out of an airplane.
- 18:55Speaker 5: Trip.
- 18:55Speaker 4: I'm not I'm not picking on Alex when I say this,
- 19:00Speaker 4: but true Green teamers, and I think Alex sometimes goes
- 19:04Speaker 4: into that category. With the Celtics, Marcus Smart gets extremely
- 19:10Speaker 4: overrated by those people to the point where like he
- 19:14Speaker 4: was not an untouchable piece, Like he just wasn't like
- 19:18Speaker 4: he wasn't an untouchable. The Jays are untouchable to me, Like,
- 19:21Speaker 4: you're you're not trading either one of those guys. But
- 19:23Speaker 4: Marcus Smart was the he was the guy that if
- 19:26Speaker 4: you had to have an odd man out, he was
- 19:27Speaker 4: the odd man out. Like it was pretty crystal clear
- 19:30Speaker 4: that he was the one that if you felt like
- 19:32Speaker 4: you needed to shake up, the easiest thing to do
- 19:35Speaker 4: was to trade Marcus Smart. And I like Porzingis. I
- 19:37Speaker 4: think that that's something that they didn't have, somebody that
- 19:40Speaker 4: can play off of Tatum and Brown that can shoot,
- 19:43Speaker 4: can stretch the floor, but also can score inside and
- 19:46Speaker 4: and be that pick and roll guy that other than
- 19:49Speaker 4: Rob running the rim, they really didn't have, like a
- 19:51Speaker 4: skilled guy that could, you know, be a legitimate scorer.
- 19:55Speaker 4: So I like Porzingis and I don't mind moving on
- 19:59Speaker 4: from Smart. I just hate that this is how it
- 20:01Speaker 4: had to go down, with them pulling out the clippers,
- 20:04Speaker 4: pulling out of the trade. But it's okay that Marcus
- 20:06Speaker 4: Smart is gone. It's also okay to to be upset
- 20:09Speaker 4: that he's gone because you was here for nine years.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Okay, it's okay, Okay, it's Okayry.
- 20:14Speaker 4: Sometimes people just need to be told that it's okay.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, absolutely all right. So that's pretty much it.
- 20:24Speaker 3: There's really no other Patriots news to really talk about
- 20:27Speaker 3: right now, so we'll open it up to our emailers
- 20:30Speaker 3: and our callers and see what they want to talk about. Uh,
- 20:33Speaker 3: and that could be anything, you know, really anything. What
- 20:37Speaker 3: are you watching on TV?
- 20:39Speaker 6: I feel like we're going to get back onto a
- 20:40Speaker 6: soap conversation.
- 20:41Speaker 5: I started another one last night the recruit.
- 20:43Speaker 3: Is something wrong with that? You got a problem with
- 20:45Speaker 3: that soap conversation? I think you're better than.
- 20:48Speaker 5: Me, obviously, she yelled at you before the show.
- 20:58Speaker 3: All right, eight five five PATS five one hundred is
- 21:00Speaker 3: the ACE ticket hotline web radio at patries dot com
- 21:03Speaker 3: is the email address? Uh do they find the people
- 21:06Speaker 3: in the submarine?
- 21:07Speaker 4: By the way, they're they're probably I think that they're
- 21:11Speaker 4: out of oxygen. It was eleven am. Not Yeah, they
- 21:15Speaker 4: probably were in already anyways.
- 21:17Speaker 3: But yeah, that's too bad.
- 21:20Speaker 7: Found debris from it an hour ago.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Oh really, debris?
- 21:24Speaker 7: That's what this news article is saying.
- 21:26Speaker 3: How did it break up?
- 21:27Speaker 5: I thought this thing wasn't the problem, but it wasn't
- 21:29Speaker 5: very well built.
- 21:30Speaker 3: Yeah, well no, but you couldn't open it up from
- 21:34Speaker 3: the inside, So like, where would the debris come from
- 21:37Speaker 3: if it wasn't Yeah, I don't know.
- 21:40Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 21:42Speaker 3: All right, Well, anyway, that's a tough way to go.
- 21:46Speaker 3: Oh my god. If anyone has any updates on that,
- 21:50Speaker 3: you can offer them up. But we'll go to Anthony
- 21:52Speaker 3: and Seattle right now in the ACE ticket hutline. What's up, Anthony?
- 21:56Speaker 8: Okay, what's people?
- 21:57Speaker 3: Hey? Hey, So.
- 22:01Speaker 8: I started vaulting in my early twenties, and so I
- 22:05Speaker 8: shaved my head twice a week. And I just recently
- 22:08Speaker 8: found out that when I go on vacations, I don't
- 22:11Speaker 8: have to get to my destination and then go to
- 22:14Speaker 8: the drug store and buy disposed war razors. That I
- 22:16Speaker 8: can actually pack razors in my luggage and take them
- 22:19Speaker 8: through security in the airport. So I know this dude
- 22:23Speaker 8: knew he couldn't bring extended cliffs through security and the airport.
- 22:27Speaker 8: So I don't know what he could have been thinking.
- 22:29Speaker 5: Yeah, no, I know, as lawyer says, he didn't knowingly
- 22:31Speaker 5: do it.
- 22:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean again, like, then, why don't you know
- 22:36Speaker 3: where your guns are?
- 22:37Speaker 5: So correct?
- 22:37Speaker 3: Again, I'm all ears. I just can't imagine what the
- 22:41Speaker 3: excuse is. But I'm all ears.
- 22:44Speaker 8: But so I called today just for a little bit
- 22:47Speaker 8: of therapy. I wasn't gonna call. I didn't even want
- 22:50Speaker 8: to talk about it, but I decided I.
- 22:51Speaker 9: Needed the therapy.
- 22:52Speaker 8: I'm gonna be real quick. I want to get these
- 22:54Speaker 8: thoughts out. I don't want to go down a rabbit hole,
- 22:56Speaker 8: so I'm gonna try to be brief. But you guys
- 23:00Speaker 8: probably remember my call a couple of weeks ago because
- 23:02Speaker 8: there were no other calls like it. But I said
- 23:04Speaker 8: we were winning the whole thing. Right now, my aspirations
- 23:08Speaker 8: for this team are on hold. And I know it
- 23:11Speaker 8: sounds funny to say because of Jack Jones, because I know,
- 23:14Speaker 8: you know, I don't know. Usually we see eye to
- 23:17Speaker 8: eye and a lot of the player analysis. I don't
- 23:19Speaker 8: know why for some reason we don't see eye to
- 23:21Speaker 8: eye on Jack Jones. I don't want to get into
- 23:24Speaker 8: that right now. But to my answer to the question
- 23:27Speaker 8: you guys asked on Tuesdays, the Warhol of Trouble is
- 23:29Speaker 8: a resounding yet. But because to me, there's a dental
- 23:34Speaker 8: drop off between him and whoever is your else is
- 23:37Speaker 8: going to be your number two outside corner. There's a
- 23:40Speaker 8: drop off between him and you know, Jonathan Jones, who's
- 23:44Speaker 8: a slot guy, Jalen Mills, who's a safety, and Marcus
- 23:48Speaker 8: Jones who's five foot eight, and then Jack Jones, who's
- 23:51Speaker 8: a tall, instinct if play making gamer of an outside,
- 23:55Speaker 8: you know corner. And you know, my vision for this
- 24:00Speaker 8: team started and ended with this defense, who to me
- 24:04Speaker 8: is just a not was going to be a nightmare
- 24:06Speaker 8: they can match up with anyone anyhow, anywhere on any day,
- 24:10Speaker 8: nasty and I was so excited. But it but it
- 24:13Speaker 8: it consisted of them being like, well.
- 24:15Speaker 3: If they're gonna be that good, Anthony, if if you
- 24:18Speaker 3: think that they were close to being as good as
- 24:21Speaker 3: you think Jack Jones is gonna make, that's gonna destroy it.
- 24:25Speaker 3: You know. It's like the Yankees, you know, like, Okay,
- 24:28Speaker 3: so Aaron Judge is gone, so now the whole team collapses.
- 24:31Speaker 3: Are you really a good team? Then?
- 24:35Speaker 8: Well, because to make a Super Bowl run, we were
- 24:37Speaker 8: gonna we were gonna need to shock the world and
- 24:38Speaker 8: it had to be perfect. I think the defense is
- 24:40Speaker 8: going to be still very good, probably even great because
- 24:43Speaker 8: we have so many playmakers. But now there's just gonna
- 24:45Speaker 8: be a missing element.
- 24:46Speaker 3: Absolutely, you know.
- 24:47Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, And I just felt felt like to me,
- 24:51Speaker 8: he just was such a big part of my vision.
- 24:53Speaker 8: I'm gonna get off the phone because I don't want
- 24:54Speaker 8: to hold everybody body yet.
- 24:55Speaker 10: But he was such a big part.
- 24:56Speaker 8: Of my vision, and now I'm just unpaused.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Now you have to relook at yep, absolutely all right,
- 25:02Speaker 3: thanks to And that's assuming we don't know he could
- 25:05Speaker 3: be part of it still. We just don't know, but
- 25:08Speaker 3: you know, like he's saying there's a big drop off,
- 25:11Speaker 3: that's saying more about the other people on the team
- 25:14Speaker 3: than the defense as a whole, you know, like you know, So.
- 25:17Speaker 4: I'm not sure if I don't know if I think
- 25:20Speaker 4: that there's like a huge drop off at the top
- 25:22Speaker 4: of the depth chart, but there's obviously a trickle down effect,
- 25:25Speaker 4: sure of it. To the point where when we got
- 25:28Speaker 4: out there at training area in mini camp and OTAs,
- 25:31Speaker 4: they were so deep in the secondary that they just
- 25:36Speaker 4: had a lot of options to throw at different things,
- 25:39Speaker 4: including I think the biggest one being replacing Devin mccordy.
- 25:43Speaker 4: Right now you have Jalen Mills who can play a
- 25:45Speaker 4: little bit of safety. We were even discussing maybe Jonathan
- 25:47Speaker 4: Jones playing a little bit of deep safety. Now that
- 25:51Speaker 4: flexibility isn't quite there because you don't have the two
- 25:54Speaker 4: outside cornerback spots on lock. But I don't think that
- 25:57Speaker 4: there's a huge drop off between Jack Jones and Jonathan Joe.
- 26:00Speaker 4: And I actually think Jonathan Jones is probably better better than.
- 26:03Speaker 5: Jack better last year now he should have been Jack
- 26:05Speaker 5: Jones was a rookie, but right I didn't see anything
- 26:07Speaker 5: from Jack Jones that told me he's better than Jonathan.
- 26:10Speaker 4: I mean ball hawking maybe, but in terms of like
- 26:12Speaker 4: actually covering your guy in a man coverage or whatever.
- 26:15Speaker 4: Like No, So I don't think that there's necessarily a
- 26:18Speaker 4: drop off in that respect, but it does make them
- 26:20Speaker 4: a little bit less multiple.
- 26:22Speaker 5: I guess it's the I say this all the time,
- 26:24Speaker 5: and and I know this is probably happens everywhere, but
- 26:27Speaker 5: around here it always happens. Your very first impression goes
- 26:31Speaker 5: a long way. And the first thing anybody saw him
- 26:34Speaker 5: do was a pick six against Darreon Rodgers. They know
- 26:37Speaker 5: what the next ten games, yea. And I don't know
- 26:40Speaker 5: how Jack Jones all of a sudden got to be big,
- 26:43Speaker 5: Like I had to look like look it up to remember.
- 26:45Speaker 5: I'm like, it's funny because I thought that one of
- 26:47Speaker 5: the reasons why he was where he was in the draft,
- 26:49Speaker 5: beyond the off field, was his size. Yeah he's five
- 26:52Speaker 5: to eleven. Yeah, he's like he's not big, you know,
- 26:57Speaker 5: Like I just I didn't see what's saying. I'm not
- 27:00Speaker 5: saying I'm not painting everybody with this brush. I didn't
- 27:02Speaker 5: see what some people saw from Jack Jones last year.
- 27:06Speaker 3: I think He's got upside.
- 27:08Speaker 5: Absolutely as upside as a young player, you know, and
- 27:10Speaker 5: they didn't lose. They're not losing Dion.
- 27:12Speaker 3: You know.
- 27:13Speaker 5: According to that, that's a guy that is the difference
- 27:15Speaker 5: between you going to the super Bowl or not is
- 27:18Speaker 5: not Jack Jones.
- 27:19Speaker 3: But I think for this team, if everything was perfect,
- 27:23Speaker 3: he would have been absolutely.
- 27:26Speaker 5: Had a chance to start and had a chance to
- 27:28Speaker 5: start well.
- 27:29Speaker 3: When you look at all the scouting reports. The thing
- 27:31Speaker 3: that hurt Jack Jones coming up with himself, but he
- 27:35Speaker 3: was highly rated as a recruit in coming into college
- 27:39Speaker 3: and you know, just kept going. Sean Wade just kept
- 27:42Speaker 3: screwing up throughout college, you know.
- 27:44Speaker 4: I think that to me, Jack Jones's ceiling has always
- 27:47Speaker 4: been j C. Jackson. Like they play a very similar brand.
- 27:50Speaker 4: I think jay C is like a little bit thicker,
- 27:52Speaker 4: a little bit more built than Jack Jones is, but
- 27:54Speaker 4: just in terms of making plays on the football, interceptions,
- 27:58Speaker 4: knowing when to take those types the chances and jumping
- 28:01Speaker 4: around j.
- 28:02Speaker 3: Jackson Me, yeah, oh well, oh everybody average, he's pretty good.
- 28:07Speaker 5: Yeah he's okay. Yeah, no, Ei the difference between your
- 28:09Speaker 5: team going or no.
- 28:11Speaker 4: But I think you know what to the callers point,
- 28:13Speaker 4: I guess I think what the disappointment is is that
- 28:16Speaker 4: you had a guy in now in Christian Gonzales, who's
- 28:20Speaker 4: supposed to be the seventy snaps a game. He's going
- 28:24Speaker 4: to be in the receiver's hip pocket, and he's going
- 28:26Speaker 4: to erase his side of the field potentially, and it
- 28:29Speaker 4: should have freed up Jack Jones to just go in
- 28:32Speaker 4: and ballhawk and make turnovers and make big plays. But
- 28:36Speaker 4: I don't necessarily think that they're going to lack the
- 28:39Speaker 4: turnover gene like just because he's not out there. But
- 28:42Speaker 4: I think that that was he was going to be
- 28:44Speaker 4: in an ideal spot where he could take those chances
- 28:48Speaker 4: and he could go out there and play off and
- 28:51Speaker 4: play zone and play techniques that allow you to go
- 28:53Speaker 4: after the football.
- 28:54Speaker 5: Can you, I know you have the easy way of
- 28:57Speaker 5: looking up like playtime, just snaps? What did he have?
- 29:00Speaker 5: Like we don't have to get it immediately. But yeah,
- 29:02Speaker 5: his PFF numbers in terms of snapcount last year because
- 29:05Speaker 5: I don't recall him playing a huge role for the
- 29:08Speaker 5: entirety of the season. Got Jones and they had incredible
- 29:12Speaker 5: turnover numbers last year.
- 29:13Speaker 6: I think he only he only went in once. What
- 29:16Speaker 6: was it John Jones got hurt or Jalen Mills, one
- 29:19Speaker 6: of them got hurt. And I think that's when.
- 29:21Speaker 3: He had to play in green Bay.
- 29:23Speaker 5: That everyone so he was he started, he was at
- 29:25Speaker 5: fifty three point snapcout last for the season. Yeah, so
- 29:29Speaker 5: he was a part time player for the season. Now,
- 29:33Speaker 5: I know that counts him getting hurt at the end
- 29:35Speaker 5: of the year and then getting suspended, but this isn't
- 29:39Speaker 5: I just don't know what everybody remembers other than the
- 29:42Speaker 5: two picks. I think Detroit play was to me far
- 29:45Speaker 5: more impressive for Jack Jones than the green Bay one.
- 29:48Speaker 5: But like what else did anybody remember the rest of
- 29:51Speaker 5: the green Bay game? Well, when I was like twelve
- 29:53Speaker 5: yards off of his guy, I know it was all coaching, right,
- 29:56Speaker 5: that's what happens. Like he has a pick six on
- 29:58Speaker 5: Aaron Rodgers and then an over time they throw like
- 30:01Speaker 5: three quick wide out screens that were like easy money
- 30:05Speaker 5: because he's twelve yards off his guy. They blamed that
- 30:08Speaker 5: on the defense.
- 30:08Speaker 4: Right on the call. Yeah, I get that. I'm not
- 30:13Speaker 4: like putting my nose up to people that don't watch
- 30:15Speaker 4: the All twenty two like me, but I don't a
- 30:18Speaker 4: lot of the stuff that I think. I think Jack
- 30:22Speaker 4: Jones got a way with a lot of stuff last
- 30:24Speaker 4: year where in that Green Bay game, he just busted
- 30:28Speaker 4: a coverage like just let a guy just run right
- 30:30Speaker 4: behind him and Aaron Rodgers didn't see it, so it
- 30:33Speaker 4: didn't burn them. And there were many instances throughout his
- 30:38Speaker 4: film where he was busting coverages or he was trying
- 30:41Speaker 4: to jump a route and it wasn't the rout he
- 30:43Speaker 4: thought it was and the guy got behind him and
- 30:47Speaker 4: he got lucky a handful of times that the quarterback
- 30:50Speaker 4: just didn't see it and didn't get the ball to
- 30:52Speaker 4: the player. So his down to down coverage consistency in
- 30:56Speaker 4: terms of just is he in the right spots he
- 31:00Speaker 4: attached the receiver was not nearly as good. But fans,
- 31:05Speaker 4: I think, and again not to like put my nose
- 31:07Speaker 4: up to it, but fans they attached themselves to the highlights, right,
- 31:11Speaker 4: so they remember the picks. And because he didn't get
- 31:14Speaker 4: burned for touchdowns on the plays where he busted coverages,
- 31:18Speaker 4: there's no way to really highlight that that was happening.
- 31:20Speaker 4: But that was going on a lot with him as well.
- 31:23Speaker 5: And I would say, like I'm disappointed. I think He's
- 31:25Speaker 5: a young player who you figured was going to get better.
- 31:29Speaker 5: So it's if he can't be part of the Patriots
- 31:31Speaker 5: moving forward, that's absolutely like, that's disappointing, you know from
- 31:36Speaker 5: a fan perspective. Yeah, and you have just a potential. Yeah,
- 31:40Speaker 5: he had potential to be a good player, but I
- 31:42Speaker 5: think people thought he was more than he was last year.
- 31:45Speaker 6: Yeah, I think it's definitely a waste of potential, especially
- 31:47Speaker 6: because you've been given numerous chances to kind of like
- 31:50Speaker 6: start over and numerous chances to like, you know, turn
- 31:53Speaker 6: over a new leaf. And if this happens to be
- 31:57Speaker 6: that this was a poor mistake on his hand, it's
- 31:59Speaker 6: just like you're letting something once in a lifetime dream
- 32:03Speaker 6: just go to waste.
- 32:04Speaker 5: Yeah, Like if they started the season with Christian Gonzales,
- 32:07Speaker 5: Jonathan Jones and Jalen Mills' is the top three cornerbacks,
- 32:09Speaker 5: would you be stunned? Like before this, before this incident,
- 32:14Speaker 5: you'd be disappointed because I know that you agree with
- 32:16Speaker 5: me that I think that the best case scenario would
- 32:19Speaker 5: have been right.
- 32:20Speaker 4: Is this pre pre spring or like what we know
- 32:23Speaker 4: from miniicamp, because I think pre Spring seeing anything.
- 32:27Speaker 5: No, but it's been stunning right right.
- 32:29Speaker 4: Once he had the mini camp that he had, it
- 32:30Speaker 4: felt like, Okay, this is the guy that's gonna gonna
- 32:33Speaker 4: play significant But I.
- 32:35Speaker 5: Just don't think, you know. And there were times that
- 32:37Speaker 5: he was with the first group quote unquote first group.
- 32:39Speaker 5: I'm using my air quotes so I don't get in trouble.
- 32:43Speaker 5: There were times that he was with that group. He
- 32:45Speaker 5: certainly was the last day of Mini caamp. Yeah, but
- 32:47Speaker 5: there were times that he wasn't. Ye, So I would
- 32:50Speaker 5: not have been stunned if the season came. Now we'll
- 32:52Speaker 5: never know because it's all different, but I wouldn't have
- 32:55Speaker 5: been stunned if the season came and he wasn't starting.
- 32:58Speaker 4: Yeah. I just think to me, it's it goes back
- 33:00Speaker 4: to the flexibility, because now I think that we're gonna
- 33:03Speaker 4: see a situation where Jalen Mills is probably gonna have
- 33:06Speaker 4: to play corner again. Yeah, just just for the sake
- 33:09Speaker 4: of depth. And I thought that he could have been
- 33:12Speaker 4: a really valuable safety for them, and maybe even a
- 33:15Speaker 4: better safety than he is a corner, just the way
- 33:18Speaker 4: that they use safeties in the system. And now he's
- 33:21Speaker 4: probably gonna have to go back to playing some corner
- 33:25Speaker 4: and that then thins out your safety room by one
- 33:28Speaker 4: extra person too. So that's where it feels like it
- 33:32Speaker 4: hurts them, is they just don't have the same versatility
- 33:34Speaker 4: like we were talking all spring about all they they're
- 33:37Speaker 4: gonna spin the dial and they're gonna have a ton
- 33:39Speaker 4: of versatility and guys can play different spots in different places.
- 33:42Speaker 4: Like that kind of does take a hit with.
- 33:45Speaker 5: The depth and everything that comes with it. You know, injuries,
- 33:48Speaker 5: will you know, one injury is much bigger now because
- 33:51Speaker 5: that's like two, right, one injury becomes two. If Jack
- 33:53Speaker 5: Jones isn't there.
- 33:55Speaker 3: Let's go to Kevin in Portland, Oregon. What's up Kevin?
- 34:00Speaker 11: Hey?
- 34:00Speaker 10: How you doing?
- 34:01Speaker 11: This is my first time calling. I just want to
- 34:04Speaker 11: say it's super awesome, thank you.
- 34:08Speaker 5: How can we get number?
- 34:11Speaker 10: Well?
- 34:12Speaker 3: How could?
- 34:12Speaker 10: He's not going anywhere?
- 34:17Speaker 11: And just to back that up, he literally just bought
- 34:19Speaker 11: another house here.
- 34:20Speaker 10: So I'm pretty sure it's.
- 34:21Speaker 4: The real estate angle.
- 34:22Speaker 5: Real estate that's better than the wrangle.
- 34:25Speaker 6: I mean to be fair, you could you could have
- 34:26Speaker 6: two homes, you could.
- 34:27Speaker 4: Have one there, but one of his home is going
- 34:30Speaker 4: to be in Portland.
- 34:31Speaker 5: When you have you know, a year.
- 34:36Speaker 11: Bigger than the first one that he bought here, So
- 34:38Speaker 11: I don't know if that makes a difference. So but
- 34:43Speaker 11: I just wanted to kind of say three things. Number one,
- 34:49Speaker 11: I'm I'm a huge mag Jones follower. He did something
- 34:54Speaker 11: over the summer that I don't feel like you guys
- 34:57Speaker 11: have ever talked about. But he knows that the media
- 35:00Speaker 11: is watching him. He does this thing where he when
- 35:04Speaker 11: he comments on other players like statuses, he uses what
- 35:09Speaker 11: is called a spider web, which, if you know, it's
- 35:13Speaker 11: like a rap song, but basically it means that other
- 35:16Speaker 11: people are watching you. And so I know he's going
- 35:19Speaker 11: to have a monster season because.
- 35:21Speaker 10: Of what he does.
- 35:22Speaker 3: What is a spider web? I know it's.
- 35:28Speaker 10: Me.
- 35:29Speaker 3: He's using the lyrics of that song though.
- 35:31Speaker 11: He posts, So whenever a player says something that he
- 35:35Speaker 11: knows he shouldn't answer, he'll post spider web, which means
- 35:40Speaker 11: that I know that twelve is watching the West, which
- 35:43Speaker 11: twelve is like another word for like other upper people
- 35:46Speaker 11: watching you.
- 35:47Speaker 10: So anytime he posts that.
- 35:49Speaker 11: I'm all over it, like I'm like, oh my god,
- 35:51Speaker 11: oh my god, oh my god.
- 35:53Speaker 4: So he's going to play good football because of this, Like, yeah,
- 35:56Speaker 4: I feel like.
- 35:57Speaker 11: This year we have an MVP season, Mac Joe.
- 36:02Speaker 10: I feel like no one talks about it.
- 36:04Speaker 11: Because they doubted the Patriots so much, But it is
- 36:07Speaker 11: what it is.
- 36:08Speaker 10: I just think we're going to have.
- 36:09Speaker 3: A great season, Okay, I hope so.
- 36:12Speaker 11: And then second with the Jack Jones thing, Honestly.
- 36:17Speaker 10: I don't think it's that big of a deal.
- 36:19Speaker 11: I understand it's a big deal in the sense that
- 36:21Speaker 11: we drafted him, but he had this kind of trouble
- 36:26Speaker 11: in college. I feel like Bill Belichick kind of already knew, like, hey,
- 36:29Speaker 11: I kind of need to back up this player.
- 36:32Speaker 5: So what deal like if they have to let him go.
- 36:37Speaker 11: Him having Yes, if we have to let him go
- 36:40Speaker 11: and kind of use what we have.
- 36:43Speaker 10: Like the other guy who was saying it's the end
- 36:46Speaker 10: of the world.
- 36:46Speaker 5: Yeah, I would. I would lean more toward your point
- 36:49Speaker 5: of view than than Anthony's in Seattle.
- 36:52Speaker 3: Thank you, Kevin.
- 36:52Speaker 10: I just I think that's way too rash.
- 36:55Speaker 3: Well thanks for Colin don't be a stranger the first time. Yep,
- 36:59Speaker 3: good stuff.
- 36:59Speaker 5: I don't really understand the other thing you guys are.
- 37:01Speaker 5: You guys are gonna have.
- 37:02Speaker 4: To learn trying to find web So I went over
- 37:06Speaker 4: both me and Tamar's head then I don't.
- 37:08Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 37:09Speaker 3: You guys are young, like I think, yea spider web.
- 37:13Speaker 5: But I'm not even talking about concept, like I don't know,
- 37:16Speaker 5: so I could sort of understand what he's talking about,
- 37:18Speaker 5: Like when you're trying to sort of send like almost
- 37:21Speaker 5: like subliminal messages, you know, cryptic, cryptic, How does that like,
- 37:26Speaker 5: how does that extrapolate to he's going to have a
- 37:28Speaker 5: great year, right, like even if he's doing it, which
- 37:31Speaker 5: I'm not even will.
- 37:33Speaker 4: Little tongue in cheek about okay. I also would say that,
- 37:37Speaker 4: like one of my biggest pet peeves is this new
- 37:39Speaker 4: thing where athletes just like tweet out emojis, so it's
- 37:44Speaker 4: just done with.
- 37:44Speaker 6: It brown or like.
- 37:48Speaker 3: He's definitely one.
- 37:49Speaker 5: It's just it's just shoot on does it too.
- 37:51Speaker 4: And I'm saying it's not that it annoys me that
- 37:54Speaker 4: they do it to begin with, but what annoys me
- 37:57Speaker 4: even more is how people still react to it like
- 38:01Speaker 4: it's something.
- 38:02Speaker 3: Patrick Chung was another one. He you think, you know
- 38:05Speaker 3: people dot dot dot like, okay, are about.
- 38:10Speaker 6: I think I think Cam did that right before the
- 38:13Speaker 6: Eagles camp, And I swear his whole press conference that
- 38:17Speaker 6: morning was about like who are you talking about when
- 38:19Speaker 6: you said you can't trust anybody?
- 38:21Speaker 3: Right?
- 38:21Speaker 5: Right?
- 38:21Speaker 6: And it was the whole press conference was about that.
- 38:23Speaker 4: Yeah, the whole thing, right, So judn't just say it. Yeah,
- 38:26Speaker 4: you know, Judan tweeted out like GM of the Year
- 38:30Speaker 4: the other day and.
- 38:32Speaker 5: Everybody's like, well they got there.
- 38:36Speaker 4: Were articles written that the Patriots, Oh what's Judah hinting at?
- 38:40Speaker 4: And it's like, we don't need to take it, because
- 38:43Speaker 4: we take the cheese. And that's why they keep doing
- 38:45Speaker 4: it is because it's getting them attention.
- 38:47Speaker 3: Of course, of course we wise up on that.
- 38:50Speaker 4: Please. Thank you.
- 38:52Speaker 3: Brian is in Saint Louis. What's up, Brian?
- 38:55Speaker 5: Hey, yeah, hey, the first time, first time.
- 39:02Speaker 9: I really appreciate the show.
- 39:04Speaker 10: You guys do a great job.
- 39:05Speaker 9: All four of you. I have a couple of thoughts
- 39:09Speaker 9: there and i'll take it off the air. First of all,
- 39:14Speaker 9: you know, the idea of Jack Jones, what's going on there.
- 39:17Speaker 9: It's a compelling story is to see how an individual
- 39:21Speaker 9: who has dreamed of this opportunity his life, you know,
- 39:26Speaker 9: his whole life, and then come.
- 39:28Speaker 8: To this point where he's no potentially going.
- 39:31Speaker 4: To throw it away.
- 39:32Speaker 10: Other than that, you know, it's not really something that's
- 39:37Speaker 10: gonna make a difference in terms of how the Patriots
- 39:40Speaker 10: performed over the course of the season.
- 39:45Speaker 9: Secondly, Mac Jones, I've got faith from this guy. Uh
- 39:51Speaker 9: And I think Brady is time is a fine example
- 39:55Speaker 9: because he progressed over his career and the Patriot know
- 40:01Speaker 9: how to sustain a quarterback, educated quarterback.
- 40:08Speaker 10: And give him the tools.
- 40:09Speaker 9: To improve on his performance. And and you know, Brady
- 40:12Speaker 9: was what I think he's a perfect example of that
- 40:15Speaker 9: in terms of a guy who came into the league
- 40:19Speaker 9: as a manager and left as a playmaker.
- 40:24Speaker 3: One.
- 40:25Speaker 9: And the thing about Tom Brady, you know, if we
- 40:29Speaker 9: asked ourselves what what was it about him besides the
- 40:34Speaker 9: fact that yes, he won seven Super Bowls? But what
- 40:37Speaker 9: was it about him as a quarterback that made him
- 40:42Speaker 9: so uniquely.
- 40:46Speaker 10: Accomplish?
- 40:47Speaker 9: And you know what, I what I point to from
- 40:50Speaker 9: the thing that that was evident throughout his career was
- 40:55Speaker 9: his low interception rate. You know, I think from the
- 41:00Speaker 9: beginning to the time that he left the league, he
- 41:02Speaker 9: threw very few interceptions. And that way, I think he
- 41:06Speaker 9: really revolutionized the quarterback position. Before him, a lot of
- 41:09Speaker 9: quarterbacks threw a lot of touchdowns, but they also threw
- 41:12Speaker 9: a lot of interceptions, or they threw quite a few interceptions,
- 41:15Speaker 9: but I think he was really the first quarterback to
- 41:18Speaker 9: throw a few interceptions and then over the course of
- 41:21Speaker 9: the career of his career, the touchdowns significantly increased and
- 41:26Speaker 9: the interceptions.
- 41:28Speaker 3: Well, but that's to me, that's all football, Like, yeah,
- 41:31Speaker 3: thanks for toughness. It's football, IQ. It's it's seeing the
- 41:35Speaker 3: field and you know, not throwing into trouble. And you know,
- 41:41Speaker 3: the guys that make those mistakes, they just don't see
- 41:43Speaker 3: the field the way Brady did. His football IQ was
- 41:48Speaker 3: out of the park, and I think that helps him
- 41:50Speaker 3: not make mistakes. When you can see something and instantly
- 41:54Speaker 3: know what you're looking at, you know, it's all quarterbacks
- 41:58Speaker 3: see it. But what am I seeing? What am I
- 42:00Speaker 3: looking at? And he could do that in an instant
- 42:02Speaker 3: and and that's why that's one of the big reasons
- 42:06Speaker 3: why I think that is.
- 42:07Speaker 5: To me, its toughness that that that's what it comes
- 42:10Speaker 5: down to. I thought he played better the same or
- 42:13Speaker 5: better when it mattered most, when something had to had
- 42:17Speaker 5: to be had. He almost all no one's perfect, but
- 42:20Speaker 5: he almost always came through when he had to. And
- 42:23Speaker 5: that's toughness that I think that other people didn't have.
- 42:26Speaker 5: You guys probably have the numbers.
- 42:27Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 42:30Speaker 5: Is his interception rate like significantly less than the other.
- 42:33Speaker 4: Great quarterbacks not not like necessarily the other great quarterbacks
- 42:37Speaker 4: from this era.
- 42:38Speaker 5: No, well that's what I'm talking about, comparing him to
- 42:40Speaker 5: Terry Bradshaw, right, like I'm comparing him to Aaron Rodgers.
- 42:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:43Speaker 4: Now Aaron Rodgers is.
- 42:45Speaker 5: Again again high football. I Q like he but my
- 42:49Speaker 5: point is separate. Why is Brady so much better than Rogers?
- 42:53Speaker 3: I don't know if he is. You don't when it
- 42:55Speaker 3: comes to interceptions, No, no, no, as a player. Oh
- 42:59Speaker 3: then then it comes to that ice cold and.
- 43:02Speaker 5: There was a year that that Brady threw like thirty
- 43:04Speaker 5: six touchdowns and four picks I want to say, like
- 43:06Speaker 5: twenty ten ish something like that. But for the most
- 43:10Speaker 5: part you could count on like, you know, eight ten,
- 43:12Speaker 5: twelve picks his like ridiculous consistency. I mean that that
- 43:17Speaker 5: stands out, But I think there are other guys that
- 43:20Speaker 5: that didn't throw interceptions, that didn't make the amount of
- 43:22Speaker 5: plays that he made. Yeah, that to me is different.
- 43:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know.
- 43:26Speaker 4: I mean, he was a total package other than everything,
- 43:29Speaker 4: other than mobility, I guess.
- 43:31Speaker 5: It wouldn't have been fair. Yeah, could run, it wouldn't
- 43:33Speaker 5: have been fair.
- 43:34Speaker 4: But right his you know, intangible qualities, his mental processing
- 43:39Speaker 4: and football a Ques fred put it. His ball placement,
- 43:43Speaker 4: his anticipation, his arm strength, I think is a little
- 43:47Speaker 4: bit underrated. Are honestly. I mean, look, he's the Brady
- 43:51Speaker 4: and I was.
- 43:52Speaker 3: Watching over and over again the other day that play
- 43:54Speaker 3: in twenty eleven, the throat to Welker. You know, because
- 43:57Speaker 3: there was a debate, Yeah, throw or drop if you
- 44:02Speaker 3: look at where the defenders were, Brady had to throw
- 44:04Speaker 3: it where he threw it. He couldn't throw it on
- 44:06Speaker 3: the other shoulder because the defender was closing in. He
- 44:10Speaker 3: had to go to the other shoulder. It made it
- 44:12Speaker 3: a tougher catch. But that's the only place he could
- 44:15Speaker 3: have put it.
- 44:15Speaker 5: No, he could have thrown it to him, not in
- 44:17Speaker 5: front of him, to him. He threw it behind him,
- 44:20Speaker 5: Like I understand what you're saying. He didn't want to
- 44:22Speaker 5: lead him into the hit.
- 44:24Speaker 3: He couldn't go the other way. He couldn't go because
- 44:26Speaker 3: there was no So, yes, what he said, I don't know.
- 44:32Speaker 3: Maybe it could have been better but it wasn't as
- 44:35Speaker 3: bad a throw as some people think it was. It wasn't.
- 44:37Speaker 5: It wasn't as bad of a drop as people think
- 44:39Speaker 5: it was.
- 44:39Speaker 4: He also won, you know, seven times, so yeah, we'll
- 44:42Speaker 4: give him one correct, right. But I think with him
- 44:45Speaker 4: it just I think his physical tools and I'll like
- 44:50Speaker 4: die on this sill. I think his physical tools get
- 44:52Speaker 4: extremely underrated.
- 44:53Speaker 5: I totally agree, and Fred will be my witness. I
- 44:57Speaker 5: said this in two thousand, before he had ever even played.
- 45:00Speaker 5: They talked about how his arm strength was not at
- 45:02Speaker 5: an NFL level, And the first day we saw him
- 45:04Speaker 5: throw a training camp, I said, I don't know what
- 45:06Speaker 5: they're talking about. Yeah, he throws the ball fine.
- 45:08Speaker 4: Yeah, And that was.
- 45:08Speaker 5: Before he did all his stuff with Tom House and
- 45:11Speaker 5: added the mechanics and things like that. He came into
- 45:14Speaker 5: the league with an ability to throw the ball better
- 45:16Speaker 5: than they said he could.
- 45:17Speaker 3: Yeah, and I don't know what his combine rating was.
- 45:19Speaker 3: Do they rate the ball speed?
- 45:21Speaker 4: They do now?
- 45:22Speaker 3: I don't know if they didn't do it back then.
- 45:24Speaker 4: Yeah, but you look at like the touchdown that he
- 45:27Speaker 4: threw to Troy Brown in Miami, backpedaling like sixty yards
- 45:32Speaker 4: in the air on a dime to Troy Brown.
- 45:35Speaker 5: Steve Burton.
- 45:35Speaker 4: So you're in the background, you're telling like, so the
- 45:38Speaker 4: deep ball was there. Then he throws would throw passes
- 45:41Speaker 4: like you know, the pass in twenty eight to three
- 45:44Speaker 4: to Amandola along the sideline in overtime, just put far
- 45:48Speaker 4: hash strike right on the money, and then he'd hit
- 45:51Speaker 4: gronk up up the seam like he had so much
- 45:54Speaker 4: His arm talent was so much better than he gets
- 45:57Speaker 4: credited by.
- 45:58Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, did he have the l Way cannon, No,
- 46:02Speaker 3: but but just knowing where to put it in, just
- 46:05Speaker 3: that ice colt through his veins where you know, a
- 46:09Speaker 3: lot of times quarterbacks the thing that holds them back
- 46:12Speaker 3: from being accurate or is their head, yea, you know,
- 46:16Speaker 3: they like there's they don't have the confidence. Brady had
- 46:20Speaker 3: that confidence.
- 46:20Speaker 4: But I just this is why I push back on
- 46:22Speaker 4: like when people say they use Brady with Mac and
- 46:25Speaker 4: they say, see, like Brady wasn't this physical marvel and
- 46:28Speaker 4: he he made it all work.
- 46:30Speaker 5: I did.
- 46:31Speaker 4: There is a distinct difference between Brady's arm talent and
- 46:35Speaker 4: Mac Jones' arm talent. Oh god, yeah, Brady has a
- 46:37Speaker 4: much better arm than Mac does. And he had a
- 46:40Speaker 4: much better arm than Mac does at forty five, like
- 46:42Speaker 4: not just in his prime. So I think that that's
- 46:46Speaker 4: that's where I can't get there with that. Oh well,
- 46:49Speaker 4: now if you want to talk about Drew Brees, like
- 46:51Speaker 4: maybe that's like a little bit more in the ballpark.
- 46:54Speaker 4: But I don't think Mac is really in the same
- 46:57Speaker 4: tier as Brady in terms of he.
- 46:59Speaker 3: Didn't have great arm. But again, football IQ, anticipation, ball placement,
- 47:04Speaker 3: knowing what he's looking at. He overcame because of all
- 47:08Speaker 3: those things.
- 47:09Speaker 6: Yeah, and I feel like just some things you either
- 47:12Speaker 6: are born with it or you don't, or you got
- 47:13Speaker 6: it or you don't. You really can't, like as much
- 47:16Speaker 6: as hard as he works, if like he's never going
- 47:18Speaker 6: to have an arm like Joe Burrow or Josh Allen,
- 47:22Speaker 6: like he's just not gonna have that.
- 47:23Speaker 4: Well that's I think that's the disappointing part for me.
- 47:25Speaker 4: And like this might be being a little bit too critical
- 47:28Speaker 4: of him, but you know, he worked with Tom House,
- 47:30Speaker 4: he's worked with his quarterbacks coach over the last couple
- 47:33Speaker 4: of years, and I'm just waiting for that like big
- 47:37Speaker 4: jump in velocity and I'm not talking about deep ball.
- 47:40Speaker 4: I think you can throw a pretty nice deep ball
- 47:42Speaker 4: in terms of like the you know, arcing touch deep ball,
- 47:45Speaker 4: but that ability to hit a dig route in between
- 47:49Speaker 4: two defenders fifteen yards down the field and just put
- 47:52Speaker 4: your foot in the ground and dot it, Like, I
- 47:55Speaker 4: just don't see him having that type of velocity on
- 47:59Speaker 4: the and that that is where I think Brady improved
- 48:02Speaker 4: the most as his career went on, was that ability
- 48:06Speaker 4: to really uncork a pass him into tight coverage over
- 48:09Speaker 4: the middle of the field. And I just haven't necessarily
- 48:11Speaker 4: seen that increase in velocity from Mac which makes me
- 48:17Speaker 4: worry that maybe that's never coming, Like maybe, you know,
- 48:19Speaker 4: maybe this is just physically what he's going to be
- 48:22Speaker 4: for the rest of his career, and can he make
- 48:24Speaker 4: it work with that.
- 48:25Speaker 6: It's like a part of halfway like, Okay, this is
- 48:29Speaker 6: this is the best he's got, and then the other
- 48:30Speaker 6: half is like, maybe he's just not confident right now,
- 48:33Speaker 6: like and he's still trying to, yeah, find that confidence
- 48:36Speaker 6: that he can do those things.
- 48:38Speaker 4: Yeah, No, that's I definitely am leaving that open to
- 48:42Speaker 4: that margin open because maybe Bill O'Brien gets him back
- 48:45Speaker 4: on that confident track and he does start to just
- 48:50Speaker 4: grip it and rip it a little bit more, but
- 48:51Speaker 4: I still didn't see that in mini camp from him.
- 48:55Speaker 4: I didn't see that, you know that real just kind
- 48:58Speaker 4: of loose, let's just you know, throw the ball around.
- 49:02Speaker 5: Now.
- 49:02Speaker 4: He hit some really good down the field throws in
- 49:04Speaker 4: mini camp, you know, to get Sicki and to DeVante
- 49:07Speaker 4: Parker and you know, those touch, tear drop type of passes.
- 49:11Speaker 4: But he's got to be able to drive the football
- 49:13Speaker 4: into coverage. And if he can't do that, then I
- 49:16Speaker 4: don't know if you can live off of an offense
- 49:18Speaker 4: that's all at the line of scrimmage or all just
- 49:21Speaker 4: kind of those deep ball touch throws down the field.
- 49:24Speaker 5: I mean, even Brady, you know kind of you kind
- 49:28Speaker 5: of saw last year. You can't live off that because
- 49:30Speaker 5: that's what Brady was last year is they couldn't make
- 49:32Speaker 5: any connections down the field. And their offense I think
- 49:36Speaker 5: they punted. I think they had more three announced than
- 49:39Speaker 5: the Patriots or close, which is that's how bad their
- 49:42Speaker 5: offense was last year.
- 49:44Speaker 3: Did all the great quarterbacks have early success.
- 49:50Speaker 5: Well, how like how early like you know within the sitter,
- 49:53Speaker 5: Peyton Manning early success well, because he had a terrible
- 49:55Speaker 5: rookie year.
- 49:56Speaker 3: No, No, but like right after that rookie year, didn't
- 49:59Speaker 3: they make the playoffs?
- 50:00Speaker 5: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I would consider him early success.
- 50:02Speaker 3: I would.
- 50:02Speaker 5: So he had a train record, but rookie seed like
- 50:04Speaker 5: twenty eight.
- 50:05Speaker 3: Oh, I know he's terrible, but like within their first
- 50:08Speaker 3: three years, they're like, Okay, this guy's good and he
- 50:11Speaker 3: and their team the performance of the field reflected that,
- 50:15Speaker 3: Like did all the great quarterbacks have that? Or are
- 50:17Speaker 3: there is there example of a quarterback who it took
- 50:20Speaker 3: a while for them to blossom.
- 50:22Speaker 5: I mean if you go on like all time like
- 50:25Speaker 5: Hall of like guys like Terry Bradshaw, Yeah took him
- 50:28Speaker 5: a long time, did it Okay?
- 50:30Speaker 4: Like he was I don't remember, he's coming into the
- 50:32Speaker 4: league and being.
- 50:33Speaker 5: He wasn't what he was in New Orleans.
- 50:35Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, like great right away he was good.
- 50:38Speaker 5: Yeah, the charges but yeah he was. The indoor thing
- 50:41Speaker 5: really helped him.
- 50:42Speaker 6: I'm hoping that. So this is obviously you can't really
- 50:45Speaker 6: compare them because Trevor Lawrence has way more talent than
- 50:47Speaker 6: Mac Jones. But like, obviously horrible rookie season for many
- 50:51Speaker 6: reasons between Roster Urban Meyer, just a lot of things.
- 50:55Speaker 6: But like you know what. I'm sure he's able to
- 50:58Speaker 6: build on what he did last year, what his team did.
- 51:00Speaker 6: I don't want to say just him, but I think
- 51:02Speaker 6: he'll be interesting to see, Like was that his ceiling?
- 51:06Speaker 6: Does he have a high ceiling. I'll be interesting to see,
- 51:09Speaker 6: but obviously, but I could think of a lot of
- 51:11Speaker 6: guys different skill at the top of my head that
- 51:12Speaker 6: you're talking about.
- 51:13Speaker 5: Oh yeah, Andrew Luck, Trevor Lawrence, Ben Joe, Joe Burrow,
- 51:19Speaker 5: Justin Herbert.
- 51:21Speaker 3: I'm just wondering how much that early success contributes to
- 51:24Speaker 3: the confidence they have going forward and how much it
- 51:27Speaker 3: hurts if they don't have it like three four.
- 51:30Speaker 4: Years and well I think that that and look where
- 51:33Speaker 4: Josh Allen still hasn't won anything, but his trajectory is
- 51:36Speaker 4: rare like that.
- 51:37Speaker 3: That's that's a good that's a good example, you know.
- 51:39Speaker 4: But but he's not an all time great, but he's.
- 51:43Speaker 5: He got much better a year two than year one.
- 51:45Speaker 5: It was even before digs and then you know he
- 51:48Speaker 5: got digs. He took off.
- 51:49Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, but he I think his example of being
- 51:54Speaker 4: able to really play more under control and have better
- 51:59Speaker 4: accurate see like the quarterback in college couldn't hit the
- 52:02Speaker 4: broadside of a barn at Wyoming and then he figured
- 52:05Speaker 4: it out mechanically to start to to be more accurate
- 52:09Speaker 4: and things like that. He but his his trajectory is
- 52:11Speaker 4: extremely rare, especially for those like Ball of Clay type
- 52:14Speaker 4: of quarterbacks. But Mac was supposed to be the floor guy, like,
- 52:20Speaker 4: so that's what you know. This was always the concern
- 52:22Speaker 4: with him was that, yeah, he was going to be
- 52:24Speaker 4: a serviceable NFL quarterback as his floor, but his he
- 52:28Speaker 4: just doesn't have that ceiling that to really be that
- 52:31Speaker 4: and take that next step, and so far that he's
- 52:34Speaker 4: been stuck in neutral in the NFL.
- 52:36Speaker 6: What about Mahomes, Yeah, yeah, right away it's like I wonder,
- 52:43Speaker 6: but I feel like he also has like that mental toughness,
- 52:45Speaker 6: that grit that if he didn't start off good, I
- 52:47Speaker 6: feel like he probably would have kept working hard until he.
- 52:50Speaker 3: Was well he's got He also sat he said all
- 52:53Speaker 3: those things he played that rookie year, he was awesome,
- 52:58Speaker 3: and they said, you know, in Kansas City, the reports
- 53:00Speaker 3: are I don't know how true this is because it's
- 53:02Speaker 3: you know, hindsight, but.
- 53:03Speaker 4: He was better in practice practice than Alex Smith. But
- 53:07Speaker 4: they were they wanted to wait.
- 53:09Speaker 5: And I think a lot of that had to do
- 53:11Speaker 5: with how much respect they had for Alex Smith.
- 53:12Speaker 6: To be honest with you, that makes me wonder what
- 53:14Speaker 6: Jordan Love is going to look like, just because like
- 53:18Speaker 6: when we did see him, it.
- 53:20Speaker 5: Took a while. Yeah, he sat behind far I know,
- 53:23Speaker 5: and then when he played he wasn't great. Yeah, like
- 53:26Speaker 5: not only I think he said three years.
- 53:27Speaker 4: Yeah he was. He was one of those guys to it.
- 53:30Speaker 4: You know, from what I remember, I don't remember him
- 53:34Speaker 4: being like overwhelmingly as physically talented as he turned out
- 53:39Speaker 4: to be. Like, yeah, I think he might be one
- 53:42Speaker 4: of an example that did develop arm strength and mobility.
- 53:46Speaker 5: And nutrition at the NFL level.
- 53:49Speaker 3: Well, remember, Paul, we had one of those early games
- 53:52Speaker 3: with Rogers. Farv was hurt. Rogers came in and we
- 53:56Speaker 3: pasted him like forty something to thirty five nothing, Yeah,
- 54:01Speaker 3: Paul remembers. I remembers.
- 54:03Speaker 6: Well, we'll see if Jordan Love's falls in those footsteps.
- 54:06Speaker 3: All right, Paul's foods here, so is mine. We're gonna
- 54:09Speaker 3: eat it and we'll be right back after this.

- 1:04:33Speaker 5: And Now great Moments in.
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: History. So I do the thing where you see somebody
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: in their car. They're about to leave, so you pull over,
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: put your single line and you sit there. So this
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: guy in a big tesla comes up right in front
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: of me, starts giving me the hands. What what I'm like?
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: You know, most you go around, go around. You know,
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: He's like, you wouldn't do it. It wouldn't go around. Finally,
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: you know, he decides, oh, I'll go around. So she
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: goes around. But then he decides to do a pull
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: up roll down. He pulls up next to me. Now
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: he pulls the pull up, pull up roll down and
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: pulls down the window. So he starts talking to me,
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: and I just say, keep effing driving. Just like that.
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: He had the kids in the back seat. I don't care,
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: but I just say keep, he goes, we'll talk later. No,
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: we won't. You know that that's another great moment from
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: out now. Why would you choose that, Matt Morrell?
- 1:05:30Speaker 16: I think that is hilarious.
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, but it's you know, come on, been
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: a while since we played it. Yeah, I guess, I
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: don't know. It's summer, people go to the mall. I guess,
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: I don't know. Maybe a tough guy, Fred, Yeah, no guy,
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: he got on my bad side. I mean, just go around.
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: Why why do you have to make a scene? All right? Anyway?
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: Eight five five pasts five hundred, we're back. It's tamaraw,
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: it's Evan, Paul, myself, Matt and the booth talking Patriots.
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: We're talking submarine. I haven't heard any or read any
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: updates yet from y'all out there, but if you have any,
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: send him in.
- 1:06:08Speaker 5: Uh.
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: We do have Andre in Nashville on the line. What's up? Andrey?
- 1:06:14Speaker 10: How you doing?
- 1:06:15Speaker 11: Guys?
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: All right?
- 1:06:18Speaker 19: Hey, So I want to first, but first and foremost,
- 1:06:20Speaker 19: I want to say dam And I've been following you
- 1:06:22Speaker 19: for for a long time, even when you were doing
- 1:06:24Speaker 19: the podcast with Alex Man, So I want to say
- 1:06:27Speaker 19: make congratulations on your your promotion man.
- 1:06:29Speaker 4: Oh, thank you, thank you very much.
- 1:06:32Speaker 19: Okay, So I have a two part question. So here's
- 1:06:34Speaker 19: my first question. The DeAndre Hopkins Sweet States. So here's
- 1:06:40Speaker 19: my thing. I feel like the longer peak takes on
- 1:06:45Speaker 19: trying to pick the right team or right sits for him,
- 1:06:48Speaker 19: I think it doesn't look too good for the Patriots
- 1:06:52Speaker 19: because I feel like when he went into his meeting,
- 1:06:54Speaker 19: he probably had an understanding on what they were trying
- 1:06:58Speaker 19: to offer. And on top of that, I heard that
- 1:07:01Speaker 19: Tennessee offer had already offered him a contract. So I
- 1:07:05Speaker 19: think I think that Diana Rossini posted today or twit
- 1:07:09Speaker 19: it today that he's exploring his options between the Patriot
- 1:07:13Speaker 19: and the Titans. So I want to give you guys
- 1:07:15Speaker 19: thoughts on that, like the longer he waits. Is it
- 1:07:17Speaker 19: looking good for the Patriots or is it looking good
- 1:07:20Speaker 19: for maybe a mystery team or maybe the Tennessee Titans themselves.
- 1:07:24Speaker 19: And then my last question is as far as mac
- 1:07:27Speaker 19: Jones is concerned, Mac Jones was really good at Alabama,
- 1:07:33Speaker 19: and I feel like people overlooked that. I mean, yes,
- 1:07:36Speaker 19: he did have Davontae Smith, and he did have Jalen Widow,
- 1:07:40Speaker 19: and I think he had. I forgot who else he had,
- 1:07:48Speaker 19: but he was really good at Alabama. He threw for
- 1:07:51Speaker 19: what almost for it was it four thousand or post
- 1:07:53Speaker 19: of four thousand, and some of the touchdowns. I feel
- 1:07:56Speaker 19: like with Bill O'Brien, I feel like he's gonna do
- 1:07:58Speaker 19: He's gonna play better. I mean the circumstances last year,
- 1:08:02Speaker 19: where the circumstances with obviously Matt Patriccia. But I just
- 1:08:05Speaker 19: kind of want to get your guys' thoughts on that.
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: Okay, thanks Andre, thank you.
- 1:08:10Speaker 5: Sraight to call the FDIC that it comes off the
- 1:08:13Speaker 5: heels of Evan gushing about his Alabama days.
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: Yeah, the first point that DeAndre Hopkins. The longer, Yeah, absolutely,
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: I think it's terrible news, the longer that it takes
- 1:08:22Speaker 4: for him to make a decision, Not because of the
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: Titans necessarily. I think it's more of that that dark
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: horse team, right, the team that comes out of nowhere,
- 1:08:31Speaker 4: especially we'll see I get that there's reports out there
- 1:08:35Speaker 4: that he could wait into training camp and see if
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: somebody gets hurt, or you know, a team gets into
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: camp and they're like, we're actually not as good at
- 1:08:41Speaker 4: receiver as we thought we were, or something like that.
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: But I would just be more concerned about that team,
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: the dark horse or a third team coming in and
- 1:08:50Speaker 4: swooping in and taking him. The longer that this goes on.
- 1:08:54Speaker 6: I agree. I mean, especially with like, for example, the
- 1:08:57Speaker 6: Jets losing someone on defense today, Chuck Clark. It's like
- 1:09:00Speaker 6: how it's like sad how quick someone can get injured
- 1:09:02Speaker 6: and be out the whole season, the way Clark is
- 1:09:04Speaker 6: for the Jets. It's like it takes something like quick
- 1:09:08Speaker 6: like that happening. A team being like, Okay, DeAndre Hopkins
- 1:09:11Speaker 6: is available, Let's sign them, and they'll do anything. They'll
- 1:09:13Speaker 6: offer way more than the Patriots or the Titans probably
- 1:09:16Speaker 6: would offer.
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: Is there anything to be said about Hopkins waiting till
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: after the Patriots Titans joined practice to go on either team,
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: you know, like.
- 1:09:25Speaker 4: That's pretty deep into it.
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: I'm just gonna wait, you know, until after these guys
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: practice together, and then whichever team I know right now
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: I'm gonna join, I'll join them.
- 1:09:34Speaker 4: That I definitely think that there's something to him not
- 1:09:37Speaker 4: wanting to practice in training camp, Like I think that
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: that's I don't know about it being the optics of
- 1:09:43Speaker 4: the Titans in the Patriots situation, but I definitely think
- 1:09:47Speaker 4: there's something to be said for the fact that at
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: thirty one years old and with all the clout that
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: he's you know, has and things like that, that maybe
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: he would rather, oh, well, if I have to miss
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: the first week of training camp, first two weeks, like right,
- 1:10:01Speaker 4: so be it.
- 1:10:02Speaker 6: Don't you think there's a big difference between being in
- 1:10:04Speaker 6: in shape and then being in football shape, Like absolutely so,
- 1:10:08Speaker 6: Like I understand not wanting to practice, but you have
- 1:10:10Speaker 6: to get out there at some point.
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: But here's the problem with the NFL today. You can't
- 1:10:14Speaker 3: get into football shape anymore. Football shape used to involve
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: getting tackled or tackling, you know, or blocking at full speed,
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: and they don't do that anymore. So you don't you
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: don't get into football shape until week three of the
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: regular season.
- 1:10:27Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, because I remember High Tower saying that
- 1:10:29Speaker 6: when he came back after you know, sitting out the
- 1:10:32Speaker 6: COVID year, he was saying, like, you know, I worked out.
- 1:10:34Speaker 6: He was still working out. It wasn't like he was
- 1:10:36Speaker 6: sitting at home watching TV. But it's a difference between
- 1:10:39Speaker 6: getting hit at practice and being in football shape and
- 1:10:41Speaker 6: working out on your own with trainers, right, yeah, yeah,
- 1:10:44Speaker 6: no doubt.
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: It's it's all different now eight five five past five
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: hundred web radio at Patriots dot com. Rick says something
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: that Tamara said that they found debris on the seafloor
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: during the search. Uh, but you know that's I don't
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: where the debris comes because this thing can't open up.
- 1:11:02Speaker 7: So what's it's a debris field. They're not sure if
- 1:11:05Speaker 7: it's from the.
- 1:11:07Speaker 4: Reason, so it could be from could.
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: It could be from craft that happened ten years ago.
- 1:11:14Speaker 7: I just cantal a.
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: Please all right? Well, Franklin and Baltimore writes in at
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: web BRADYO at Patries dot com. I think these comparisons
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: to Brady to hype up Mac always missed the mark
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: for me because despite his lack of a top flight
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: armed strength in terms of distance, I never ever questioned
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: Brady's velocity. His balls almost always had zip on it.
- 1:11:36Speaker 3: You can clearly see his baseball background whenever he throws. Also,
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: even in college, Brady always had a knack for elevating
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: his teammates around him. In an ideal world where Brady's
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: college coach wasn't enamored with an incumbent, there is no
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: doubt in my mind, he doesn't last beyond the second
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: in that draft class. Don't let his draft status fool you.
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: Brady was a draft miss, not scrub that had no
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: physical talent whatsoever.
- 1:12:03Speaker 4: Okay, I agree with that talent.
- 1:12:07Speaker 5: Yeah, I largely agree with the whole thing too. I
- 1:12:09Speaker 5: don't know how high he would have been drafted, but
- 1:12:12Speaker 5: if they didn't recruit Drew Henson and feel compelled to
- 1:12:16Speaker 5: play him like it would have been like if if
- 1:12:20Speaker 5: Alabama had just played Bryce Young instead of Mac Jones.
- 1:12:24Speaker 5: Mac Jones was at Alabama for five years, yeah, and
- 1:12:27Speaker 5: it never really played, and then Bryce Young came in
- 1:12:31Speaker 5: and they went with mac Jones. Well, Lloyd Carr went
- 1:12:35Speaker 5: with a platoon system with Drew Henson and Tom Brady
- 1:12:38Speaker 5: for two years.
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:12:40Speaker 5: And if that didn't happen, if he just said book,
- 1:12:43Speaker 5: I mean, I'm watching practice. Brady's better than Drew Henson
- 1:12:46Speaker 5: every day and he just went with Tom Brady, he
- 1:12:49Speaker 5: wouldn't have been drafted in the sixth round. Now, I
- 1:12:51Speaker 5: don't know where he would have been drafted, but he
- 1:12:53Speaker 5: wouldn't have gone in the sixth round. One hundred ninety
- 1:12:54Speaker 5: ninth overall.
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: YEP, Matt and Carlsbad, California. Did Drew Brees have an
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: elite arm? Remember him having less? Definitely arm strength. Now,
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: obviously Mac is not Drew Brees, but I'm just trying
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: to think of an example of a great quarterback without
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: an elite arm.
- 1:13:08Speaker 5: Yeah, he did not have an elite elite arm strength,
- 1:13:11Speaker 5: I would agree.
- 1:13:12Speaker 4: But he also played half his games in a dome,
- 1:13:14Speaker 4: so so.
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: You don't think he'd have had the success he did
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: outside if.
- 1:13:19Speaker 5: He had to play in New England. No, I don't.
- 1:13:21Speaker 5: I totally agree with Evan.
- 1:13:22Speaker 4: I think he would have been good. Yeah, I don't
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: think he would have held the NFL passing yards record
- 1:13:27Speaker 4: at one point. Does he still have it or did
- 1:13:29Speaker 4: Brady pass him? I don't remember. Yeah, but he wouldn't
- 1:13:33Speaker 4: have been that good.
- 1:13:34Speaker 5: I think he's one of those guys that threw a
- 1:13:37Speaker 5: lot with anticipation. I also think that a lot of
- 1:13:40Speaker 5: his skills, like that shoulder injury, really hurt him. You know,
- 1:13:44Speaker 5: was it three four years into his career. Yeah, I
- 1:13:47Speaker 5: think that that hurt him. I think that was not
- 1:13:50Speaker 5: to give Nick Saban the out here, but that's why
- 1:13:53Speaker 5: Nick Saban didn't take him. He went with Dante Culpepper
- 1:13:56Speaker 5: instead in Miami, which ended up sort of ending his
- 1:14:01Speaker 5: tenure with the Dolphins before it even began.
- 1:14:02Speaker 4: Yeah, one of the biggest, bigger what ifs of that era.
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: Let's see Matt is in New Jersey, first time emailer
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: working in the film industry. It's always funny hearing Mike's
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: stories and how nothing has changed, including accidentally ceaseeing writers
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: when trashing their scripts. I wholeheartedly agree with Paul saying
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: that Belichick using Patricia and Judge as a placeholder for
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: Billy Oh is a fireable offense for negligence.
- 1:14:34Speaker 5: That's why I don't believe it happened.
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: Regardless of whether that's true or not, last year was
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: a major disrespect for the offensive side of the ball.
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: I saw it as Bill intentional or not telling all
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: of his offensive coaches and the rest of the league
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: that offense is easy enough for a defensive and special
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: teams coordinator to design and coordinate an offense, and it
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: will still be better than half of the NFL offenses.
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: To have Bill Belichick one of the greatest football act
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: like that is baffling. Also on Tuesday, Fred insisted that
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: Garoppolo must have something to do with chicken and Italian
- 1:15:09Speaker 3: not so, per my friend who does Italian to English
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: subtitling for Netflix. Garoppolo while not The galloping chicken, while
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: not the common phrasing coincidentally translates to ice scramble, as
- 1:15:22Speaker 3: in I scramble out of the pocket.
- 1:15:24Speaker 5: The galloping chicken.
- 1:15:25Speaker 4: He doesn't scramble very much, so it's not very fitting.
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: Well you used to, yeah, and finally broke at trivia question.
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: There have been seven Pro Football Hall of Fame players
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: whose sons were drafted by an NFL team. Who are
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: the father son combinations? Hints four sons were Patriots, and
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: some of these Hall of famers had multiple sons drafted
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: for a bonus. There is an eighth duo, although the
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: father was not.
- 1:15:51Speaker 5: We're trying to say this all seven of them Hall
- 1:15:53Speaker 5: of famers whose sons were drafted in the NFL. Saw
- 1:15:56Speaker 5: Slater Slater, Jackie, that's ample.
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, An he's saying.
- 1:16:02Speaker 20: Uh, Matthews, Clay Matthews, Bruce Matthews, Clay Matthews. Right, yeah,
- 1:16:13Speaker 20: uh so there's four Patriots and we only got one
- 1:16:16Speaker 20: of the Patriots.
- 1:16:17Speaker 4: Yeah, so let's think now, is Archie Manning in the
- 1:16:21Speaker 4: Hall of Fame.
- 1:16:23Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, there's isn't he.
- 1:16:25Speaker 3: I don't Archie Manning in the Hall of Fame. He
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: wasn't that good.
- 1:16:28Speaker 5: He shouldn't be.
- 1:16:29Speaker 10: In the hall.
- 1:16:30Speaker 4: But he's a Manning, so I don't think he was.
- 1:16:32Speaker 5: That was before that became a thing, that really didn't became.
- 1:16:38Speaker 3: Let's think now, Uh, patriots, fathers, sons of patriots, fathers
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: who were.
- 1:16:46Speaker 5: A hard time with This is a tough question.
- 1:16:48Speaker 4: Yeah, right. I remember there's seven of them, there a lot,
- 1:16:50Speaker 4: and we only got two out of the eight.
- 1:16:53Speaker 5: Seven.
- 1:16:54Speaker 6: Do you say that already was not having attention?
- 1:16:56Speaker 4: No, he's not in the Hall of Fame. Santae Samuel
- 1:17:00Speaker 4: in the Hall of Fame.
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: This is so he's got He's got one other patriot,
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: but that's all. So he has Jackie Slater and Matthew Slater,
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: we got that right away, herb Hannah and John Hannah
- 1:17:14Speaker 3: and Charlie Hannah.
- 1:17:16Speaker 5: Who Charlie Hannah is John Hannah's brother, right, But is
- 1:17:19Speaker 5: he in the Hall of Fame?
- 1:17:20Speaker 4: No, John is so maybe the somebody in the.
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: Okay, all right, but that's the only patriot he has.
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: He's got Bob Greasy and Brian Greasy, Tony Dorsett and
- 1:17:32Speaker 3: Anthony Dorsett, Russ Grim and Cody Grimm.
- 1:17:36Speaker 5: I never heard of Cody Grimm.
- 1:17:37Speaker 3: Howie Long, Chris Long, who was a Patriot.
- 1:17:42Speaker 5: We should have gotten that one, Yeah, he should have gotten.
- 1:17:44Speaker 3: And then Kellen Winslow and Ken Kellen Winslow Jr. Who
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: is the Patriot very briefly, kell was a Patriot when
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: he didn't he wasn't on the team for like a
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: day or two days mid season, remember that, I think
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: I remember.
- 1:17:59Speaker 5: I'm not saying you're wrong.
- 1:18:00Speaker 4: I think that's a technicality.
- 1:18:01Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't think you ever played.
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: A game twenty twelve. I think he was. I think
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: I remember being on a road trip and he I
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: think he was on the team for like a week
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: or something.
- 1:18:10Speaker 5: Okay, so we should have got Is that all of them?
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: And then the bonuses Don Shula and Mike Schuler, but
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: Don as a coach.
- 1:18:16Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, we definitely should have gotten the Longs.
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: Yeah that that was.
- 1:18:23Speaker 5: That was a pretty easy one. In greasy we probably Yeah.
- 1:18:25Speaker 4: So, so Kellen Winslow was on the Patriots for eight days.
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: Eight days, Yeah, eight days.
- 1:18:32Speaker 5: Did he play a game?
- 1:18:33Speaker 4: September of twenty twelve, good job, Fred.
- 1:18:37Speaker 5: He probably says twenty twelve in the year it did.
- 1:18:40Speaker 4: I see, I gave you credit. He did play a game.
- 1:18:43Speaker 5: I know better.
- 1:18:44Speaker 4: He caught one pass for twelve yards.
- 1:18:46Speaker 5: I would have lost a lot of money on whether
- 1:18:49Speaker 5: or not he caught a pass.
- 1:18:50Speaker 4: Yeah, caught a pass.
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: Yeah, he was troubled, he had some issues.
- 1:18:56Speaker 5: Is zero lately?
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: Yeah, let's see Kobe is in Vermont, he says, being
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: thirty one, I've only experienced the Patriots dynasty in three
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: years of mediocrity. Excuse me, how would you prefer the
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: next decade to go? Would you rather the Patriots get
- 1:19:14Speaker 3: twelve to fourteen wins every year and make it deep
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: in the playoffs every year but no Super Bowl wins?
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: Or be below five hundred eight to ten years and
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: win a super Bowl in twenty thirty three.
- 1:19:26Speaker 4: Oh, it has to be in twenty thirty three.
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: Yeah, so you have to wait a long time for it.
- 1:19:30Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 1:19:31Speaker 4: I'm always taking I'm always taking the super Bowl.
- 1:19:34Speaker 5: Really, see my answer is always the super Bowl. But selfishly,
- 1:19:37Speaker 5: being fifty five years old, I will not be still
- 1:19:40Speaker 5: working for the Patriots in twenty thirty three, So I
- 1:19:43Speaker 5: would take.
- 1:19:45Speaker 4: For your sake, the steady right, for your sake. I
- 1:19:49Speaker 4: hope that's I hope that's true, yecause we don't retired.
- 1:19:54Speaker 6: Fans can deal with below five hundred for the next I.
- 1:19:57Speaker 4: Know, Well, it just basically like make you know, it's
- 1:20:01Speaker 4: like the Red Sox, Like the Red Sox either win
- 1:20:02Speaker 4: the World Series or they're a mediocre baseball team. There's
- 1:20:05Speaker 4: no in between.
- 1:20:06Speaker 5: So and I'm fine with that, yeah, but you have
- 1:20:09Speaker 5: to win like this is like you're really bad every year.
- 1:20:12Speaker 3: And then he said, eight to ten years below five hundred.
- 1:20:15Speaker 5: And then you win one a super Bowl, you know,
- 1:20:18Speaker 5: at a time where I'm hoping to have stepped aside.
- 1:20:24Speaker 3: Will Lucas writes in uh he said last week Evan
- 1:20:28Speaker 3: had a great rant about his disdain for Bill's mafia.
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: I too share this feeling, as many Buffalo fans think
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: there a few years of moderate success put them on
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: our level. My question is, are there any other fan
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: bases that are as insufferable as these hooligans ps? The
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: term Buffalo winning is the perfect way to describe their success.
- 1:20:48Speaker 5: I think in all serious that are about twenty fan
- 1:20:50Speaker 5: bases like that, Well, you hate all fans that would
- 1:20:53Speaker 5: have said thirty two. If I hated them all said,
- 1:20:56Speaker 5: I think they are about twenty. But the one part
- 1:20:58Speaker 5: that I really agree with the Buffalo is, you know,
- 1:21:03Speaker 5: you have to have won something.
- 1:21:05Speaker 4: They think that they think that they're winning the AFC
- 1:21:08Speaker 4: East is winning something.
- 1:21:09Speaker 5: But this is not new. But they know how they
- 1:21:12Speaker 5: are right now.
- 1:21:12Speaker 4: They've been like this forever.
- 1:21:14Speaker 5: When they were like three and thirteen.
- 1:21:16Speaker 4: Yeah, they feel like they have bragging rights over the
- 1:21:19Speaker 4: Patriots because they've won the AFC East over the last
- 1:21:23Speaker 4: couple of years. The division gives them bragging, right.
- 1:21:26Speaker 6: It's like when someone's like bar so low, like something
- 1:21:29Speaker 6: like that is, you know, like winning the Super Bowl
- 1:21:32Speaker 6: for them. But when you're a Patriots fans and you're
- 1:21:35Speaker 6: a dynasty used to a dynasty, your bar is so
- 1:21:38Speaker 6: much higher that you're just like, what, like, what are
- 1:21:40Speaker 6: you doing?
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: Well?
- 1:21:41Speaker 4: I as a Patriots fan, you have to tell these
- 1:21:46Speaker 4: Buffalo like raise your bar. Yeah, raise your bar a
- 1:21:50Speaker 4: little bit because they all say, oh, like you just
- 1:21:53Speaker 4: live in the nostalgia of the of the Brady years
- 1:21:55Speaker 4: and all Patriots fans just talk about what happened ten
- 1:21:59Speaker 4: years go and who It's like you at least we
- 1:22:02Speaker 4: have something to talk the.
- 1:22:03Speaker 5: Nostalgia of the Kelly years. Right, they didn't even win, right,
- 1:22:06Speaker 5: that's all for those Super Bowls, Right, they're terrible.
- 1:22:10Speaker 3: I mean they're winning now, but they haven't won it.
- 1:22:12Speaker 4: You know, they haven't even made it.
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:22:15Speaker 4: They they have one AFC Championship game appearance where they
- 1:22:18Speaker 4: got blown out by Kansas City. Yeah that's it.
- 1:22:23Speaker 5: That's is that right?
- 1:22:25Speaker 4: Yes, in the in the Allen era, they've made one
- 1:22:29Speaker 4: AFC Championship game.
- 1:22:30Speaker 5: I don't remember them getting blown up.
- 1:22:31Speaker 4: Oh yes, Stefon Diggs remember the picture Stefan Diggs on
- 1:22:35Speaker 4: the field.
- 1:22:35Speaker 5: I just don't remember that game being a blow I
- 1:22:37Speaker 5: remember the games were good games. I remembered the AFC
- 1:22:41Speaker 5: Championship game was at least like Cincinnati last double digit.
- 1:22:45Speaker 3: Did they pull away at the end or something they
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: might have I can't remember.
- 1:22:48Speaker 5: I'm confused. I might be confusing the divisional rounds with that.
- 1:22:51Speaker 4: Well they thirteen seconds is the divisional round?
- 1:22:54Speaker 3: Okay?
- 1:22:54Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, maybe I was wrong with Cincinnati last year.
- 1:22:58Speaker 5: That was a blowout. They got blown they as Emmitt
- 1:23:00Speaker 5: Smith would say, they got blowed out.
- 1:23:01Speaker 6: They got blowed Was it thirty eight? Was it in
- 1:23:04Speaker 6: twenty twenty one, thirty eight, twenty four.
- 1:23:07Speaker 4: Yeah, thirty eight, twenty four, fourteen points.
- 1:23:10Speaker 5: Not a blow to me. If you lose like twenty
- 1:23:14Speaker 5: to three, you got blown out, you know, thirty eight,
- 1:23:16Speaker 5: twenty four years you couldn't keep up on a shootout.
- 1:23:19Speaker 3: Yeah, Mac Jones, Ray and Saint Louis says, Looking to
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: come to a Patriots home game this year, what are
- 1:23:26Speaker 3: some cool places to come visit for the weekend for
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: a twenty eight year old Tamara.
- 1:23:31Speaker 6: I'm a horrible person, ask that.
- 1:23:33Speaker 3: I know you don't go out.
- 1:23:34Speaker 6: No, you're nothing to do here.
- 1:23:35Speaker 3: You are not all night like, that's true.
- 1:23:37Speaker 6: There's nothing. Are you forgetting where I moved here from?
- 1:23:39Speaker 6: There's nothing to do here.
- 1:23:40Speaker 4: Well, it's just different from where you came from.
- 1:23:43Speaker 6: There's nothing to do.
- 1:23:43Speaker 4: We're also asking you're not the things which Boston no offense,
- 1:23:47Speaker 4: but you're also a transplant. So like all the other
- 1:23:50Speaker 4: places in the front ground by Miami, al right, I got.
- 1:23:54Speaker 6: It, because it's like here, it's like unless you're going
- 1:23:56Speaker 6: to a sporting event, yep, what are you doing this club? Club?
- 1:24:02Speaker 21: No?
- 1:24:03Speaker 4: Well, I'm not a big club.
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: You go down to the seaport, there's all those new
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: bars and clubs down there, the Grand whatever.
- 1:24:10Speaker 4: The Seaport if you want to go quote unquote clubbing,
- 1:24:13Speaker 4: the Seaport is the There is.
- 1:24:15Speaker 6: One bar in Boston that I like and I can't
- 1:24:17Speaker 6: think of the name right now. I need to think
- 1:24:19Speaker 6: about it.
- 1:24:20Speaker 3: By the Guard.
- 1:24:20Speaker 6: Is it Alibi?
- 1:24:22Speaker 3: I don't know. I haven't been in that scene to you,
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: but you don't go out now. We watch Law and
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: Order every night exactly.
- 1:24:29Speaker 6: But if we talk about food, yes, Regina's Pizza in
- 1:24:34Speaker 6: the North End. Oh my godich well I wouldn't.
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: I would just say, you know, if you're looking for,
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: you know, the nightlife, go to the Seaport or yeah.
- 1:24:46Speaker 4: Yeah, so Seaport's nice if you want that sort of.
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: Upper clubs. Lansdown Street.
- 1:24:56Speaker 4: So those I would consider bars, right like.
- 1:24:58Speaker 3: But they used to have clubs like with music.
- 1:25:00Speaker 4: Oh yeah yeah, I mean if you want to go
- 1:25:03Speaker 4: to Landsdown like personally, I love Lansdown Pub. That's like
- 1:25:08Speaker 4: one of my favorite spots. And at night that does
- 1:25:10Speaker 4: turn up to like more of like a club music
- 1:25:13Speaker 4: DJ type of scene. Cask obviously is is more sports
- 1:25:19Speaker 4: bar and game on in those places. But Landsdown Pub
- 1:25:23Speaker 4: some people like cheeky monkey. I'm not a cheeky monkey guy. Unfortunately,
- 1:25:27Speaker 4: Baseball Tavern is clothes, so you can't go there anymore,
- 1:25:30Speaker 4: which is a real bummer. But that's like the whole
- 1:25:32Speaker 4: Fenway area. Faniel Hall has some cool bars too, you know,
- 1:25:36Speaker 4: especially this time of year. The Landing Tia is right
- 1:25:39Speaker 4: on the water. He can go and the Tias is
- 1:25:41Speaker 4: still there. The Landing is really cool. It's only open
- 1:25:44Speaker 4: in the warmer weather. It's right on the on the
- 1:25:47Speaker 4: pier right outside of the Aquarium in Boston, which I
- 1:25:51Speaker 4: really like. If you want to go, like garden right
- 1:25:55Speaker 4: like near the garden, herp the Harp is obviously like
- 1:25:59Speaker 4: the biggest one over there.
- 1:26:00Speaker 6: Clearly Evan is out twenty four to seven.
- 1:26:03Speaker 4: I lived here most of my life.
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: Banners is huge.
- 1:26:06Speaker 4: Banners is huge if you like, if there's a sports
- 1:26:08Speaker 4: game on, we love banners because the TV's are are huge,
- 1:26:11Speaker 4: and it's good. Is that new It's yeah, it's attached
- 1:26:14Speaker 4: to the garden.
- 1:26:16Speaker 6: But if we're talking food, I love hunters. Have you
- 1:26:19Speaker 6: been Hunters?
- 1:26:20Speaker 4: Hunters?
- 1:26:22Speaker 6: It's so good.
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: Hunters are hunters.
- 1:26:24Speaker 6: Hunter like Hunter Henry Okay, it is incredible in Boston.
- 1:26:29Speaker 6: It's technically more towards like Dorchester.
- 1:26:32Speaker 5: Okay, that's kind of not in Boston.
- 1:26:35Speaker 3: Proper food, southern food, Okay.
- 1:26:38Speaker 6: But it's like more like a bar vibe. It's not
- 1:26:40Speaker 6: a restaurant. Yeah, definitely, very very chill.
- 1:26:43Speaker 4: Yeah, Boston I think is more to me, like it's
- 1:26:46Speaker 4: more about like the bars I think are more fun
- 1:26:49Speaker 4: than like the true clubs, Like the clubs I think
- 1:26:52Speaker 4: are like trying to be Miami, trying to be ye know,
- 1:26:55Speaker 4: that's just not those bottle bars.
- 1:26:57Speaker 3: Like you don't bring your bottle bottle service, you get
- 1:27:01Speaker 3: a table and it's like two grand for the table.
- 1:27:04Speaker 4: And they're just like ridiculous, trying too hard.
- 1:27:06Speaker 3: Yeah, what do you do? This is boss?
- 1:27:08Speaker 5: Just go to do that in Boston's still closing that
- 1:27:11Speaker 5: like right.
- 1:27:12Speaker 4: Yeah, just go to like in some of the bars
- 1:27:14Speaker 4: that I just mentioned, and it's it's a good time.
- 1:27:17Speaker 4: It's casual, not not like nobody like that.
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: Freddy you oh back in the time Fields, Uh, I
- 1:27:25Speaker 3: wasn't a big Copper Fields fan, but back Bay was
- 1:27:28Speaker 3: a big place. We'd go to the.
- 1:27:30Speaker 4: Poorhouse or the poorhouse closed.
- 1:27:32Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:27:33Speaker 4: During COVID I heard that, which is really there.
- 1:27:35Speaker 3: Was another place called it was the old firehouse. It's
- 1:27:38Speaker 3: something different now, but back then it was Division twenty one.
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: I think, yeah, yeah that was a great place.
- 1:27:42Speaker 4: Yeah, poorhouse of that one. Yeah, used to frequent the
- 1:27:46Speaker 4: poor House. And then uh, what's the one that's right
- 1:27:49Speaker 4: next to Whiskeys Whisky Whiskeys Whiskeys are still open? Yeah,
- 1:27:53Speaker 4: poorhouse didn't make it.
- 1:27:54Speaker 3: And then we'd go to, uh there was the Lenox
- 1:27:56Speaker 3: piano bar.
- 1:27:57Speaker 4: We'd go to fancy Yeah, even a spin in Boston.
- 1:28:01Speaker 6: No, with all the games in the inside.
- 1:28:04Speaker 4: No, we do go to put Shack though that place
- 1:28:07Speaker 4: is fun pud No put shack indoor indoor mini golf doing.
- 1:28:13Speaker 3: I don't know what kind of bar it is.
- 1:28:14Speaker 5: I don't know how laughs and how many times you
- 1:28:17Speaker 5: make me just put my palms to the air and
- 1:28:19Speaker 5: just look at you incredulously.
- 1:28:21Speaker 4: Indoor mini golf and bar. It's like, you know, like
- 1:28:24Speaker 4: King's like where you can go bowling and drink. This
- 1:28:26Speaker 4: is spin. This is mini golf and drink.
- 1:28:29Speaker 5: We like well the student Union at Merrimack where I
- 1:28:31Speaker 5: was yesterday bowling alley in a golf simulator. I was like, geez,
- 1:28:35Speaker 5: I did just have my mail forwarded here?
- 1:28:37Speaker 3: Right? Wow?
- 1:28:39Speaker 5: This is like higher education nowadays.
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: Those are the days going out in Boston, Narcissus. No,
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: I never never want to be. We used to go
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: to a place across the street in Chemortes where you're
- 1:28:51Speaker 3: called Pooh's Pub down down in the basement. I think
- 1:28:54Speaker 3: you're too young. You're shaking your head right.
- 1:28:57Speaker 4: No, I don't know that.
- 1:28:58Speaker 3: The rascular was on one, but you go down the
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: street and Poos Pub was on the same side.
- 1:29:03Speaker 5: It's yeah, I don't remember that Poos Pub. That must
- 1:29:06Speaker 5: have been gone before.
- 1:29:07Speaker 3: Yeah, we used to go to Crossroad who was on.
- 1:29:09Speaker 5: First You used to go there? Oh yeah, oh yeah.
- 1:29:12Speaker 4: All those places are gone now, yeah, they're all gone.
- 1:29:14Speaker 4: Back to the emailer. If if if I were coming
- 1:29:17Speaker 4: to Boston and I was like trying to show, like
- 1:29:19Speaker 4: you know, my friends that aren't from here or something,
- 1:29:22Speaker 4: and you wanted to go out at night, I prob
- 1:29:25Speaker 4: I probably hit up Fanuel.
- 1:29:26Speaker 3: Hall area, like, yeah, just to see it.
- 1:29:28Speaker 4: Tilla is Landing, Yeah, bell in Hand, Black Rose, Yeah,
- 1:29:34Speaker 4: Howel is like right down the street if you wanted that,
- 1:29:36Speaker 4: if you want to go to that.
- 1:29:37Speaker 3: And like bell in Hand is like historical.
- 1:29:39Speaker 4: Too, Yeah, Bellinghann's School it's got multiple floors. One of
- 1:29:43Speaker 4: the lower floor is usually live music, in the upper
- 1:29:45Speaker 4: floor is like a DJ.
- 1:29:46Speaker 3: Is dur Park. Still there is that close?
- 1:29:49Speaker 4: I think it closed? Yeah?
- 1:29:51Speaker 5: Yeah, so yeah, I could have given you like the
- 1:29:54Speaker 5: lay of the land and like say nineteen eighty nine. Right,
- 1:29:57Speaker 5: I'm not really of much value to you today. Yeah,
- 1:29:59Speaker 5: I'm stocks Bonds on the Financial district, A big, big nightclub.
- 1:30:04Speaker 3: What's the one it's downstairs. It's like really narrow, but
- 1:30:09Speaker 3: it's it's historical greatest bar. Yeah, I think it. No
- 1:30:13Speaker 3: greatest bar, that's no. No, the red red tab or shoot,
- 1:30:20Speaker 3: I think it.
- 1:30:23Speaker 5: You talk. Where where is it located? Like in Fanuel Hall?
- 1:30:26Speaker 3: No?
- 1:30:27Speaker 5: By the garden? No, it was Massachusetts.
- 1:30:32Speaker 3: No, it was you know where Macy's is, right, Okay,
- 1:30:37Speaker 3: district but it's yeah, it's down one of those streets
- 1:30:40Speaker 3: and you go down and it was very narrow, but
- 1:30:42Speaker 3: it was like a huge like after work bar. No one,
- 1:30:47Speaker 3: I don't know anyway.
- 1:30:50Speaker 5: Kyle, right, JJ Foles for me after work?
- 1:30:52Speaker 3: Yeah, Kyle and Pembroke. If you guys could have any
- 1:30:57Speaker 3: former Patriots player in the prime who never played for
- 1:31:02Speaker 3: Belichick as a head coach, join this year's team, who
- 1:31:06Speaker 3: would you choose? Oh? Come on, that's like there's a million.
- 1:31:09Speaker 4: Right, we gotta choose one.
- 1:31:12Speaker 3: So this year, who would you choose? I mean, Tippett
- 1:31:15Speaker 3: comes to mind immediately.
- 1:31:17Speaker 5: Who's the best quarterback you can come up with?
- 1:31:19Speaker 4: Yeah? Well, no, he said Patriot.
- 1:31:23Speaker 5: Former Patriots, former Patriot. I just said someone who never
- 1:31:27Speaker 5: played for.
- 1:31:27Speaker 3: Former Patriot, who never played for Belichick.
- 1:31:30Speaker 4: Oh, I can't go Drew. So right now, I mean
- 1:31:34Speaker 4: quarterbacks out. Is Grogan really much of an upgrade Jim Plunkett? No,
- 1:31:40Speaker 4: I'll take mac okay good to know, uh.
- 1:31:44Speaker 5: What, obviously, I'm nothing if not.
- 1:31:46Speaker 4: No, I just I don't know as much about the
- 1:31:49Speaker 4: old Patriots quarterback.
- 1:31:50Speaker 3: So how about how about since we just lost Jack Jones,
- 1:31:55Speaker 3: will take Mike Haynes.
- 1:31:57Speaker 4: Yeah, Mike Canes would be Goodna Stanley Morgan maybe give
- 1:32:01Speaker 4: him the there we go, Fie Field stretcher receiver Stanley
- 1:32:05Speaker 4: Morgan should be in the Hall of Fame.
- 1:32:07Speaker 3: Twenty yards per catch, something like that, crazy.
- 1:32:09Speaker 4: Tip tip it yeah tip obviously.
- 1:32:11Speaker 3: You know, but like when you just think about need
- 1:32:14Speaker 3: right now, what player would.
- 1:32:16Speaker 5: Well, Anthony and Seattle would definitely say Mike Haynes because
- 1:32:19Speaker 5: we just lost them.
- 1:32:20Speaker 4: Yeah, that's why. That's why I said Stanley Morgan, because
- 1:32:24Speaker 4: I you know, get that that receiver, that game changing receivers.
- 1:32:28Speaker 5: A good one. Yeah, Russ Francis Ben Coates. Ben Coates
- 1:32:34Speaker 5: may have played No. No, I don't think Coats did
- 1:32:36Speaker 5: play for No. They cut him that year and he
- 1:32:39Speaker 5: played for Baltimore.
- 1:32:40Speaker 3: John says the debris field could be from the submarine.
- 1:32:43Speaker 3: If there was a leak at low depths, it likely imploded. Yeah,
- 1:32:47Speaker 3: because that's what I was thinking, because you need that
- 1:32:49Speaker 3: pressure in the inside because of the you know, you're
- 1:32:51Speaker 3: two and a half miles down. If you don't have
- 1:32:53Speaker 3: that to think, it will be crushed. Yeah, so you wonder, Yeah,
- 1:32:59Speaker 3: that's what a way to go. Oh my goodness, not Bob,
- 1:33:04Speaker 3: what a way to go?
- 1:33:05Speaker 5: You know.
- 1:33:06Speaker 3: It's like, so, you know, you spend two hundred and
- 1:33:09Speaker 3: fifty thousand dollars and you're in this tin can with
- 1:33:11Speaker 3: these people you don't really know, and now you're going
- 1:33:13Speaker 3: to die with them.
- 1:33:14Speaker 5: I wish I could see, like the way the same
- 1:33:16Speaker 5: if they went to space, because that's cool.
- 1:33:19Speaker 7: Conspiracies that this was all on purpose to kill the
- 1:33:22Speaker 7: billionaire that's on there is insane right.
- 1:33:24Speaker 6: Now, that's awesome.
- 1:33:25Speaker 7: Really they're leaking all this old interviews and stuff.
- 1:33:30Speaker 5: You know what, politics don't ever change. I also don't
- 1:33:34Speaker 5: ever change.
- 1:33:34Speaker 6: Just want to know what the waiver would have said
- 1:33:36Speaker 6: before you gotten that thing, like right, like, I feel
- 1:33:40Speaker 6: like you can't even reallyssue anyone probably from whatever they
- 1:33:42Speaker 6: signed to.
- 1:33:43Speaker 3: Go no matter what happens. Yeah, we're not responsible. Yeah,
- 1:33:47Speaker 3: come at your own risk. Let's see who is this
- 1:33:52Speaker 3: doesn't say Eric would not like that. Here's a hypothetical
- 1:33:58Speaker 3: for you that I'd like to get your opinion on it.
- 1:34:00Speaker 3: How would Brady have done in Max's exact circumstance drafted
- 1:34:04Speaker 3: where he was in playing when he did with these
- 1:34:07Speaker 3: same Patriots teams? Oh, I'm sorry, he's from Savannah, so
- 1:34:13Speaker 3: I apologies with the.
- 1:34:15Speaker 6: Same issues as like Patricia and stuff, but the same
- 1:34:18Speaker 6: exact scenario.
- 1:34:19Speaker 3: Same as scenario the first year. Yeah, well everything I.
- 1:34:23Speaker 5: Think so the first year. I mean, as long as
- 1:34:26Speaker 5: we're just going to play fantasy land, I'm going to
- 1:34:27Speaker 5: say they would have won.
- 1:34:28Speaker 3: The super Bowl, right because he had Dale?
- 1:34:32Speaker 5: Yeah, valid, I mean they won ten games with Max Jones. Yeah,
- 1:34:39Speaker 5: Brady won the super Bowl in a similar situation with
- 1:34:42Speaker 5: a lesser team.
- 1:34:43Speaker 4: Do you think the two thousand and one team was lesser?
- 1:34:45Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:34:46Speaker 4: Oh, one team had two Hall of Famers on.
- 1:34:50Speaker 5: It, and how many are on this one. We don't
- 1:34:53Speaker 5: have any idea any no, zero, It's all fantasy, I guess.
- 1:35:02Speaker 5: I mean, no, the two thousand and one team was
- 1:35:07Speaker 5: you know, I'd have to give it some thought to
- 1:35:09Speaker 5: go player for player. But it wasn't an overly talented team.
- 1:35:13Speaker 5: It wasn't.
- 1:35:14Speaker 3: I mean, it was, well, it turns out defensively it was.
- 1:35:18Speaker 5: It was Brady like the same Like I love Drew.
- 1:35:23Speaker 5: I don't think they were going eleven and five and
- 1:35:25Speaker 5: winning the Super Bowl.
- 1:35:26Speaker 4: I Drew play defensively though. That they were good was loaded, right,
- 1:35:32Speaker 4: I mean.
- 1:35:32Speaker 3: Richard Seymour, Ty Law, Teddy Bruski, Ted Johnson, Mike Rabel.
- 1:35:37Speaker 5: Like a lot of that's what they turned out to be.
- 1:35:39Speaker 3: Right, Well, we didn't know it at the time, but
- 1:35:41Speaker 3: these were they weren't bad at the time.
- 1:35:43Speaker 4: Okay, So but like if if you know Christian Gonzales
- 1:35:47Speaker 4: ends up being ty Law, is your point, right? You
- 1:35:50Speaker 4: just kind of you just don't know.
- 1:35:53Speaker 5: Now, that's obviously an Andy Hart like exaggeration.
- 1:35:57Speaker 4: Or Kyle Duggar could be as good as lawyer Malloy. Right,
- 1:35:59Speaker 4: maybe he is already as good as lawyer Maloy.
- 1:36:03Speaker 6: Continues to be the most versatile player.
- 1:36:04Speaker 5: Now, that was a team that I think wasn't a
- 1:36:10Speaker 5: super Bowl caliber team, That's all I'm saying. Like, I
- 1:36:13Speaker 5: don't think that was an overly talented.
- 1:36:17Speaker 3: Offense.
- 1:36:17Speaker 5: To Evan's point, were they more talented than the twenty
- 1:36:19Speaker 5: twenty one Patriots? Probably?
- 1:36:21Speaker 3: Yeah, Well, when you look at the offense, they weren't.
- 1:36:23Speaker 5: I mean, they did nothing.
- 1:36:25Speaker 4: But that was also a different era.
- 1:36:26Speaker 5: Totally different, right, totally different era. I don't know, if
- 1:36:30Speaker 5: you know, let's go pro max side. Now that was
- 1:36:33Speaker 5: the anti max side. We'll go to the pro max side.
- 1:36:35Speaker 5: I don't know if Brady would have been ready to
- 1:36:37Speaker 5: throw the ball as much as Mac did as a
- 1:36:39Speaker 5: as a rookie. You know, even though they had better receive.
- 1:36:42Speaker 5: I mean all they all that team really had was
- 1:36:44Speaker 5: Troy Brown, yeah right, and J R.
- 1:36:48Speaker 3: Redmond.
- 1:36:48Speaker 5: You know, Patton Wigans well, Antoine Smith was the offense.
- 1:36:53Speaker 3: Yeah right, right, But we're going.
- 1:36:56Speaker 5: To extrapolated to now, you can't just hand the ball off.
- 1:36:59Speaker 5: To remind Stevenson, every single play right. That's what that
- 1:37:02Speaker 5: team did.
- 1:37:03Speaker 4: Just such a different time. I feel like the greatest
- 1:37:06Speaker 4: show on turf, Like they were ahead of their time
- 1:37:07Speaker 4: like that. That's how everybody plays now, not how everybody
- 1:37:11Speaker 4: really played back then.
- 1:37:13Speaker 5: So it's it's fun exercise.
- 1:37:15Speaker 3: Speing Fred getting crushed in a submarine at depth is
- 1:37:18Speaker 3: an insane way to go for each of you, what's
- 1:37:21Speaker 3: your most and least preferred way you'd want to go?
- 1:37:24Speaker 5: Oh, God, Morgan, most, I mean I want to go
- 1:37:28Speaker 5: fast in my sleep.
- 1:37:30Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, I hope to feel it.
- 1:37:32Speaker 3: It is going your sleep. I mean that's the best way.
- 1:37:36Speaker 3: If it has to be tragic. I you know, airplane,
- 1:37:39Speaker 3: I guess, oh.
- 1:37:40Speaker 4: No, no, no, no, that's like that's like my worst.
- 1:37:44Speaker 3: I don't want to suffocate the death. I'd rather just
- 1:37:46Speaker 3: have it be an impact boom.
- 1:37:49Speaker 4: But the airplane, like the whole way down.
- 1:37:52Speaker 3: I don't want to I don't want to make peace
- 1:37:54Speaker 3: with yourself. You know, at least you're not suffering mentally.
- 1:37:57Speaker 3: You're suffering, but not physically, you know.
- 1:37:59Speaker 5: I don't, though, I think it's worse.
- 1:38:02Speaker 4: I'm terrible with flying, so I'm the wrong person to
- 1:38:05Speaker 4: maybe in a shootout.
- 1:38:07Speaker 3: You know that.
- 1:38:10Speaker 5: If you got a cycle on the other side of
- 1:38:12Speaker 5: the glasses.
- 1:38:13Speaker 3: Tried that you were unsuccessful. I take it.
- 1:38:17Speaker 4: No, I wont I was.
- 1:38:22Speaker 5: I was quite successful.
- 1:38:23Speaker 4: I would say the worst ways to go to me
- 1:38:27Speaker 4: are burned alive like that that the suffering number one,
- 1:38:32Speaker 4: and then drowning would be would be number two. So
- 1:38:35Speaker 4: I guess plane would be number three for me technically, but.
- 1:38:38Speaker 5: The burn like to me, the burning alive, that that's
- 1:38:43Speaker 5: both of them, because that's a mental thing, because obviously
- 1:38:45Speaker 5: you don't just all of a sudden spontaneously can bust right,
- 1:38:48Speaker 5: like the building you're in is on fire, you're trying
- 1:38:50Speaker 5: to get.
- 1:38:51Speaker 3: Out of the Jamella likes d I don't know.
- 1:38:53Speaker 5: You might well if it hasn't happened yet. Like like,
- 1:38:57Speaker 5: I think you're totally dismissing the mental part.
- 1:38:59Speaker 4: Of like I know, burning alive and we're.
- 1:39:02Speaker 5: Flying, we're at could I hit that mountain?
- 1:39:06Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:39:07Speaker 5: No, not good, not fun.
- 1:39:10Speaker 3: Rick and Dallas to answer the email this question, the
- 1:39:12Speaker 3: Philadelphia Eagles fan base is the worst in.
- 1:39:15Speaker 5: The bad one. What I'm saying, I think there's a
- 1:39:17Speaker 5: lot of really, but again, at least they've won. Yeah, Oh,
- 1:39:22Speaker 5: I'm not saying that Buffalo is not the worst. Maybe
- 1:39:24Speaker 5: they are like Philly. I don't really have much use
- 1:39:27Speaker 5: for them.
- 1:39:28Speaker 4: Off Philly is bad to.
- 1:39:30Speaker 5: Dallas, Pittsburgh like Green Bay.
- 1:39:33Speaker 3: I like. I like Pittsburgh's fan base because because they
- 1:39:37Speaker 3: want that, they've got a tradition and they don't like
- 1:39:40Speaker 3: I tell you this all the time, Paul. You you
- 1:39:43Speaker 3: listen to those national radio shows, the sports shows, and
- 1:39:46Speaker 3: winn lose. The Pittsburgh fans don't go away. They don't
- 1:39:49Speaker 3: go silent when they lose. They get on there, they
- 1:39:51Speaker 3: take their come up and and and.
- 1:39:53Speaker 5: The only ones there always category the ones that don't
- 1:39:56Speaker 5: have a fan base, like the Rams, Washington, the Chargers.
- 1:40:00Speaker 5: I don't know, Washington nit bad.
- 1:40:01Speaker 4: So we did just announce the training camp dates.
- 1:40:04Speaker 3: Okay, what do we got?
- 1:40:05Speaker 4: So first three days of Patriots training camp will be
- 1:40:08Speaker 4: July twenty sixth, July twenty seventh, and July twenty eighth,
- 1:40:13Speaker 4: all open to the public time TBD. Shocker.
- 1:40:16Speaker 3: And what are those days? That's a Wednesday, Thursday.
- 1:40:19Speaker 4: Friday, I believe.
- 1:40:20Speaker 3: So okay, okay, so we don't know the weekend?
- 1:40:23Speaker 5: Does that mean? Yeah, like when we have the Saturday
- 1:40:26Speaker 5: off and then practice Sunday or we practice Saturday and
- 1:40:29Speaker 5: episodesday because one of them will be off.
- 1:40:31Speaker 4: So what the rule? There's the rules about pads, right,
- 1:40:35Speaker 4: like they have to wait a couple days. Think it's three,
- 1:40:37Speaker 4: so those three days will be pads and or will
- 1:40:40Speaker 4: be will not be pads, and then the day off
- 1:40:43Speaker 4: and then pads.
- 1:40:43Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:40:44Speaker 5: I think the first two was strictly helmets. Then I
- 1:40:46Speaker 5: think they could put the shells on maybe, and then okay,
- 1:40:49Speaker 5: I think the fourth day is the first day.
- 1:40:51Speaker 4: Right A full path.
- 1:40:52Speaker 3: Getting back to the fan email, he says, I firmly
- 1:40:54Speaker 3: believe there is a special place in health somewhere between
- 1:40:57Speaker 3: people who talk in movie theaters and people who sit
- 1:41:01Speaker 3: in the right hand lane at a stoplight because they're
- 1:41:04Speaker 3: going straight when everyone else behind them is clearly trying
- 1:41:07Speaker 3: to turn. Those are the Eagles fans. I can't stand them.
- 1:41:11Speaker 6: Okay, wait to stay on this topic. And I actually
- 1:41:13Speaker 6: posted this on my Instagram story. I think my biggest
- 1:41:17Speaker 6: pet peeve which instead of the right hand lan lane thing,
- 1:41:20Speaker 6: people in the left lane, which I have seen more
- 1:41:23Speaker 6: of it here than I have anywhere else that I've lived,
- 1:41:25Speaker 6: and I've lived in like seven states. People in the
- 1:41:28Speaker 6: left lane who drive the exact speed limit or below
- 1:41:31Speaker 6: and are causing so much track.
- 1:41:33Speaker 3: That's that's not good.
- 1:41:35Speaker 6: And like you see people go and then you see
- 1:41:37Speaker 6: people going around you and you're not getting the memo
- 1:41:39Speaker 6: like okay, why are all these people.
- 1:41:41Speaker 5: And you need to do the aggressive pull around.
- 1:41:45Speaker 3: Well, yeah, there's a way to do it. To a guy,
- 1:41:47Speaker 3: and you make a point. It's like Paul putting the
- 1:41:49Speaker 3: sub in the middle of it. It's you do it
- 1:41:52Speaker 3: with attitude.
- 1:41:53Speaker 4: Just just to be clear there.
- 1:41:55Speaker 6: I have never seen it.
- 1:41:58Speaker 3: But the Providence, but I see it.
- 1:42:01Speaker 5: Providence.
- 1:42:02Speaker 3: Rhode Island drivers are the worst drivers because the state
- 1:42:07Speaker 3: is so small. They don't get enough practice.
- 1:42:10Speaker 5: I've heard this one laugh every time they were they're
- 1:42:16Speaker 5: terrible drivers.
- 1:42:17Speaker 6: It'll be crazy because like like there's so much traffic
- 1:42:21Speaker 6: and I'm like, okay, is there a car accident? Is
- 1:42:22Speaker 6: there construction? And then I get up to it and I'm
- 1:42:24Speaker 6: like it was just some person.
- 1:42:27Speaker 3: Sure.
- 1:42:27Speaker 5: Yeah, there is a lot of traffic in Boston that
- 1:42:31Speaker 5: you never get, you know, not that you want something
- 1:42:34Speaker 5: bad and obviously you never get like oh well that's why, yeah,
- 1:42:38Speaker 5: you never find out why.
- 1:42:39Speaker 4: All of this morning, I did have one coming in.
- 1:42:41Speaker 4: I had a oh that's why moment.
- 1:42:43Speaker 5: But there was a guy upside down just two days
- 1:42:46Speaker 5: ago when I was going on completely Boston. New York
- 1:42:50Speaker 5: City is a totally different animal just because of like
- 1:42:53Speaker 5: how fast everybody drivesolume, it's just crazy. But I lived
- 1:42:57Speaker 5: in LA, Boston and New York City, which are like
- 1:43:01Speaker 5: notoriously the three worst traffic and like driving nothing compares
- 1:43:05Speaker 5: to Boston Boston. So LA has more like legitimate traffic,
- 1:43:13Speaker 5: but I think it's just because of sheer volume. I
- 1:43:16Speaker 5: agree with Evan. I think that both New York and
- 1:43:18Speaker 5: LA have so many more cars to deal with. Right.
- 1:43:20Speaker 5: The Boston is the roads. Well, yeah, roads are designed so.
- 1:43:24Speaker 4: Poorly that they create the roads and the attitude of
- 1:43:27Speaker 4: the drivers like l A. Everybody is like chill, right,
- 1:43:30Speaker 4: like nobody. There's never a bad day. It never rains
- 1:43:34Speaker 4: in California, right, but there's just so many people and
- 1:43:37Speaker 4: the only way to really get around is driving into
- 1:43:40Speaker 4: the roads are just jammed because of that. But the
- 1:43:43Speaker 4: the a holes behind the wheel, combined with the traffic
- 1:43:47Speaker 4: in Boston takes the cake.
- 1:43:50Speaker 5: A lot of pet peeves because believe me, I said,
- 1:43:53Speaker 5: more time than I would like to in traffic's matters.
- 1:43:55Speaker 5: Thing about the right lane is annoying. Of the email said,
- 1:43:59Speaker 5: the driver in the left lane is annoying when you're
- 1:44:03Speaker 5: in traffic. Okay, so let's say you're moving, say twenty
- 1:44:07Speaker 5: miles an hour. You're on a highway. You're moving, but
- 1:44:10Speaker 5: obviously there's a lot of traffic, so you got to
- 1:44:12Speaker 5: go slow. When you're behind a guy that refuses to
- 1:44:15Speaker 5: catch up to the guy in front of him, I
- 1:44:18Speaker 5: don't know why it bothers me so much.
- 1:44:20Speaker 3: You're not going anywhere, but still, but it's allowing everybody
- 1:44:22Speaker 3: to cut in front of that guy.
- 1:44:23Speaker 5: It just feels like you're getting slowed down. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:44:26Speaker 5: and it really really bothers me.
- 1:44:29Speaker 3: Pull up to the guy in front of you. Don't
- 1:44:31Speaker 3: ride his bumper. You know what bothers me, But pull
- 1:44:33Speaker 3: up to the guy. It's the guy who. It's always
- 1:44:36Speaker 3: a guy. It's the guy who when he's going to
- 1:44:39Speaker 3: make a turn, but first he puts on his brakes,
- 1:44:43Speaker 3: Then he gets to the turn, then he puts his
- 1:44:45Speaker 3: blinker on. Buddy, it's the other way around.
- 1:44:48Speaker 5: You're talking like you're talking about city driver.
- 1:44:51Speaker 3: Yeah, you put your blinker on first.
- 1:44:53Speaker 5: I have a whole separate.
- 1:44:54Speaker 3: Then you get there and you put your brake on,
- 1:44:56Speaker 3: you know.
- 1:44:56Speaker 5: Whole separate chapter of things that bug me about that this.
- 1:45:00Speaker 3: I need to know what you're going, what you're doing.
- 1:45:02Speaker 5: No courtesy whatsoever correct in the city, like when you're
- 1:45:06Speaker 5: driving and I'm not even talking about Boston, I'm talking
- 1:45:08Speaker 5: about whatever town that you live in. Yes, it's all
- 1:45:11Speaker 5: civility has completely been lost. That nobody lets you go ever,
- 1:45:17Speaker 5: that's anywhere.
- 1:45:17Speaker 4: That's the difference between LA and Boston traffic.
- 1:45:21Speaker 3: They let you go.
- 1:45:21Speaker 4: L A is everybody's everybody's nice. Everybody everybody, oh yeah,
- 1:45:25Speaker 4: you go ahead, right Boston it's you know, you get
- 1:45:27Speaker 4: the bird, you get the hunk.
- 1:45:30Speaker 5: I like to use that like a very simple rule
- 1:45:31Speaker 5: of thumb. There is a couple of One is if
- 1:45:34Speaker 5: if I'm driving down the street, like let's say I'm
- 1:45:36Speaker 5: on the main street and I'm just going and someone's
- 1:45:38Speaker 5: trying to get off a side street, I almost always
- 1:45:41Speaker 5: look in my rear view mirror if there's no one,
- 1:45:42Speaker 5: If there's nobody behind me, I go. If there's a
- 1:45:45Speaker 5: few people, usually I slow down, stop and let the
- 1:45:47Speaker 5: guy out because I know he's not getting otherwise It's
- 1:45:52Speaker 5: like first man to the intersection has the right away rule. Right, Like,
- 1:45:56Speaker 5: if I'm trying to get off a street onto another
- 1:45:58Speaker 5: one and I'm waiting and this car is going both ways,
- 1:46:02Speaker 5: and I will see a car approaching who's going to
- 1:46:04Speaker 5: take a turn. You wouldn't believe the amount of people
- 1:46:07Speaker 5: that refuse to let you go. They come into the
- 1:46:10Speaker 5: turn going like thirty five miles an hour, and if
- 1:46:12Speaker 5: you go, you're getting t boned.
- 1:46:14Speaker 6: So this brings up another pet peeve of mine, people
- 1:46:17Speaker 6: not knowing how to use roundabouts. Oh yeah, this, but anyway, like,
- 1:46:25Speaker 6: if you're in it, you don't need to yield, you
- 1:46:28Speaker 6: just keep going right.
- 1:46:29Speaker 5: The person that stops in the middle of the rotaries
- 1:46:31Speaker 5: the problem.
- 1:46:36Speaker 4: She's right, that's called the rotary. Though, just for the record,
- 1:46:39Speaker 4: it is a road. I don't know what a roundabout is.
- 1:46:41Speaker 4: Unbout what's a roundabout?
- 1:46:44Speaker 3: The car will.
- 1:46:47Speaker 18: The way.
- 1:46:47Speaker 3: I was very offended yesterday. I was going down four
- 1:46:50Speaker 3: ninety five and there was a car in front of
- 1:46:52Speaker 3: me and they were smoking, and the person threw out
- 1:46:54Speaker 3: their butt and the button and it hit the windshield.
- 1:46:57Speaker 3: I don't know why, but I felt like i'd been
- 1:46:59Speaker 3: spit on you know, like it's like did you chase
- 1:47:02Speaker 3: him down? But it's like, you know, how dare you?
- 1:47:05Speaker 5: It wasn't you know? It's like a guy in the parking.
- 1:47:07Speaker 3: Little cotton filter hit my windshield.
- 1:47:09Speaker 5: But I was like, how dare you?
- 1:47:11Speaker 6: Do you use your horn?
- 1:47:12Speaker 4: Friend?
- 1:47:13Speaker 3: Rarely?
- 1:47:14Speaker 5: I would agree, rarely rarely?
- 1:47:16Speaker 3: Yeah, it's what's what's the point?
- 1:47:18Speaker 6: I'm a horn user?
- 1:47:20Speaker 3: You are you? I can see you can see that
- 1:47:22Speaker 3: little miss missing everybody.
- 1:47:25Speaker 5: I use it more, but I'm not gonna lie. I'm
- 1:47:27Speaker 5: afraid to.
- 1:47:31Speaker 6: That's fair. I really I will only use if you
- 1:47:33Speaker 6: come into my lane, Like if you're like one of
- 1:47:35Speaker 6: the people who are like merging into my lane and
- 1:47:37Speaker 6: you don't see me, I'm definitely gonna.
- 1:47:38Speaker 3: Oh well, then that's a warning. That's what the horns for.
- 1:47:41Speaker 3: That's here I am. That's the only time I use.
- 1:47:44Speaker 3: That's what it's for.
- 1:47:44Speaker 6: But not in terms of like a speed up blowing horn.
- 1:47:47Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I would never do.
- 1:47:48Speaker 5: Never do.
- 1:47:49Speaker 6: That's scary.
- 1:47:50Speaker 5: That's when you do the aggressive pull around, right.
- 1:47:52Speaker 4: I also, I have a hole with the sup down
- 1:47:55Speaker 4: on the thing.
- 1:47:56Speaker 3: You know what I'm talking.
- 1:47:57Speaker 5: I know, I know you've done it.
- 1:47:58Speaker 4: I'm sure I am who hasn't died.
- 1:48:01Speaker 6: I've even been in the left Wan going like eighty
- 1:48:03Speaker 6: and I see someone coming up behind me going like
- 1:48:06Speaker 6: ninety five, and I'm like, okay, I'm moving.
- 1:48:08Speaker 5: I don't care if you're going eighty. If he's going
- 1:48:09Speaker 5: eighty one, you get out.
- 1:48:11Speaker 6: Yeah. So I'll see him coming up fast and I'm wrong.
- 1:48:14Speaker 3: But I still say jerk, I still say jerky. Yeah.
- 1:48:17Speaker 3: You know what I do. I give over to good
- 1:48:19Speaker 3: tough guy, but you know what I give him. I'm
- 1:48:24Speaker 3: getting old, but you know what I best. You know what?
- 1:48:26Speaker 3: You know what I find myself doing a lot now
- 1:48:29Speaker 3: when somebody does something stupid, just shaking my head, yeah,
- 1:48:33Speaker 3: you know, like just you know, okay.
- 1:48:37Speaker 5: Just like he's all above all this crap and you're
- 1:48:39Speaker 5: doing all of this.
- 1:48:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I just, you know, shake my head like you idiot.
- 1:48:42Speaker 6: Okay. Last thing, if you're at a stoplight, and so
- 1:48:45Speaker 6: it's a card for to you, you with the light
- 1:48:47Speaker 6: turn screen, and it takes how long.
- 1:48:49Speaker 5: Do you wait?
- 1:48:50Speaker 6: Yes?
- 1:48:50Speaker 3: Yeah, five seconds because in Boston you're not paying. First
- 1:48:57Speaker 3: of all, I find that very disrespectful. I find that
- 1:49:00Speaker 3: very disrespectful.
- 1:49:01Speaker 5: But did you ever see anybody who finds disrespect in
- 1:49:03Speaker 5: more places than.
- 1:49:04Speaker 3: Because there's other people trying to get through that light,
- 1:49:07Speaker 3: and so now you know you're going to get through,
- 1:49:09Speaker 3: but like what about the people behind you? And the
- 1:49:12Speaker 3: other thing I know I hate is like I look
- 1:49:14Speaker 3: at distance between cars going through in it. You know
- 1:49:16Speaker 3: the light. If there's a big distance between you and
- 1:49:19Speaker 3: the car, that's disrespectful too. You need to be on
- 1:49:23Speaker 3: their ass get through, so in line with my keep
- 1:49:27Speaker 3: up with the guy in front of right, so as
- 1:49:29Speaker 3: many people can get through as possible.
- 1:49:30Speaker 5: You don't have to ride on his bumper. Just keep
- 1:49:32Speaker 5: up with the traffic.
- 1:49:33Speaker 3: Love your neighbor. That's what Jesus would do. He'd be
- 1:49:37Speaker 3: on their tail so that the guys behind me get in.
- 1:49:40Speaker 6: Wait, so I have seen a turn signal. Some cars
- 1:49:43Speaker 6: will go like okay, that car. Once they make it
- 1:49:45Speaker 6: all the way across the street, then the next car
- 1:49:47Speaker 6: will go I'm like, why are you waiting? You can
- 1:49:49Speaker 6: turn with them.
- 1:49:52Speaker 5: Finding out it's just soap with a slot. She's interested
- 1:49:55Speaker 5: in nonsense, just not your nonsense.
- 1:49:58Speaker 4: Yeah it is uh In Austin, it's you have to
- 1:50:02Speaker 4: anticipate the light turning green, because if that light hits
- 1:50:06Speaker 4: green and you're not already on the gas. Yes, yeah,
- 1:50:11Speaker 4: so you so you have to look around and like, oh,
- 1:50:15Speaker 4: like this is the pattern, right, like this one goes right,
- 1:50:17Speaker 4: then we go and you have to you have to
- 1:50:19Speaker 4: be on it.
- 1:50:20Speaker 3: But but especially if like that, if you see the
- 1:50:22Speaker 3: head looking down, you know they're looking at their phone. Right,
- 1:50:25Speaker 3: Oh yeah, you give them and we had they head
- 1:50:27Speaker 3: you know, jolts up.
- 1:50:29Speaker 4: I will admit I'm I'm bad about that about looking
- 1:50:33Speaker 4: at the phone at the red light.
- 1:50:34Speaker 5: I do all the time. I'm bad about that. I
- 1:50:36Speaker 5: don't do it when I'm driving, like actually no now,
- 1:50:39Speaker 5: but I always if I know that a text came in, yeah,
- 1:50:42Speaker 5: and I'm at a red light. Yeah, but even if
- 1:50:43Speaker 5: I'm on one twenty eight, I a complete stand still. Yeah,
- 1:50:46Speaker 5: I'll peek and see.
- 1:50:47Speaker 3: You should use the car play.
- 1:50:49Speaker 5: I can't why it doesn't work.
- 1:50:50Speaker 3: What do you mean?
- 1:50:51Speaker 5: I don't know who on first I did? It worked
- 1:51:01Speaker 5: for like the first I would say month month and
- 1:51:03Speaker 5: a half that I had the car, and then I
- 1:51:05Speaker 5: got my voice. Then I think, yeah, I know I
- 1:51:07Speaker 5: understand how it works for it. My wife has it.
- 1:51:11Speaker 5: But something happened. I think Will was like his music
- 1:51:16Speaker 5: then and I cannot the cord. He had the ox
- 1:51:20Speaker 5: cord and you go ye uh.
- 1:51:22Speaker 3: Claire in West Midlands, UK, Hello one, Hello Marine. A
- 1:51:26Speaker 3: quick note, I totally understood Tamara. We called them roundabouts
- 1:51:30Speaker 3: in the UK.
- 1:51:30Speaker 4: Sometimes islands in the UK they call them islands.
- 1:51:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess, so, jeez.
- 1:51:36Speaker 4: Drive on the wrong side of the road, leave it
- 1:51:37Speaker 4: to the UK and not know what an island is.
- 1:51:40Speaker 3: Rick and Louisville easily, without a doubt. The driver that
- 1:51:43Speaker 3: bothers me is the one that is on his or
- 1:51:47Speaker 3: her phone when the light turns green. They know it's green,
- 1:51:50Speaker 3: and they still stay in their phone because they're not
- 1:51:52Speaker 3: done doing whatever they're doing. My bad.
- 1:51:54Speaker 5: Yeah, you do that, you know it's green, and you
- 1:51:58Speaker 5: finish your.
- 1:52:00Speaker 4: Separately to like actually driving the car. Though Boston has
- 1:52:03Speaker 4: a a real like parking tickets have gotten out of hand.
- 1:52:09Speaker 5: They give out a lot of it.
- 1:52:10Speaker 4: They give out you cannot park someplace, and like if
- 1:52:14Speaker 4: your meter expires for like five minutes, you have a
- 1:52:18Speaker 4: ticket on your twenty five. So it depends on where
- 1:52:22Speaker 4: you're parked. Some of them are are are forty.
- 1:52:25Speaker 3: Yeah, So I used to play the game when I
- 1:52:27Speaker 3: was in HOTUK drivers and meter Maze the two most
- 1:52:30Speaker 3: hated people out there.
- 1:52:31Speaker 5: Yeah, well I was crazy. I would never park at
- 1:52:33Speaker 5: a place where you could get towed. But I mean
- 1:52:36Speaker 5: I would always park like in resident permit, you know,
- 1:52:38Speaker 5: stuff like that I and I always said, like I
- 1:52:40Speaker 5: could pay fifty bucks to park, or it could roll
- 1:52:42Speaker 5: the dice that I'm gonna get a ticket, which is
- 1:52:44Speaker 5: at most is gonna cost me fifty bucks, right, And
- 1:52:46Speaker 5: I always like, if I would go in a Red
- 1:52:48Speaker 5: Sox game, yeah I did it all. I would park
- 1:52:49Speaker 5: on Mountford Street. Yeah, like I would do it all
- 1:52:52Speaker 5: the time. And I would say, half the time, you
- 1:52:53Speaker 5: get away with it. But I always felt like I
- 1:52:55Speaker 5: was making out on the deal because if I get it,
- 1:52:57Speaker 5: I had to pay for parking anyway, might as well
- 1:52:59Speaker 5: roll it.
- 1:53:00Speaker 4: And maybe I guess we used to have doesn't happen anymore.
- 1:53:02Speaker 3: On off of Boylson Street. I think it was behind
- 1:53:05Speaker 3: Division twenty one if you go with the side street.
- 1:53:08Speaker 3: There was a parking lot behind there and it was
- 1:53:10Speaker 3: for people that worked at the tee. That was like
- 1:53:13Speaker 3: their park. But we used to park there at night
- 1:53:15Speaker 3: and we never got ticketed ever. It was like our
- 1:53:18Speaker 3: private parking spot.
- 1:53:20Speaker 6: Speaking tickets, speaking of parking, this is this is another thing. Okay,
- 1:53:25Speaker 6: So say have you pulled up to a street where
- 1:53:27Speaker 6: you could parallel park and you could have the choice
- 1:53:30Speaker 6: of leaving some room so someone else can parallel park,
- 1:53:33Speaker 6: or would you park in a way that like, like
- 1:53:35Speaker 6: no one could park in front of or behind it?
- 1:53:36Speaker 3: No, I leave space. I park correctly.
- 1:53:38Speaker 5: Yeah, leave space.
- 1:53:40Speaker 6: When people do not leave space, like are they parking
- 1:53:41Speaker 6: away where like they're off, someone couldn't park in front
- 1:53:45Speaker 6: of them. And then also it's just.
- 1:53:47Speaker 3: Yeah, well people who don't park right, that's a whole
- 1:53:49Speaker 3: other thing.
- 1:53:50Speaker 5: You know, we could do another show on the not
- 1:53:52Speaker 5: parking right. The guys that have to back into spots
- 1:53:54Speaker 5: no matter what, like park I have to back Yeah,
- 1:53:57Speaker 5: like parking lot. I'm not talking about parallel parking.
- 1:53:59Speaker 6: No, I back in all parking slots.
- 1:54:01Speaker 5: But don't you get at some point you have to
- 1:54:03Speaker 5: go backwards? But don't you it's better when you're back
- 1:54:06Speaker 5: into it.
- 1:54:06Speaker 3: But like, if you're in a parking lot, like at
- 1:54:08Speaker 3: a store or something, and somebody else park like an idiot,
- 1:54:12Speaker 3: so you have to kind of park like a neediot,
- 1:54:14Speaker 3: you get paranoid, you know, they're gonna leave before you.
- 1:54:16Speaker 3: Then the next person that comes in, you're in it.
- 1:54:19Speaker 5: Yeah, that's valid if you if you back into a spot,
- 1:54:23Speaker 5: like say here at Julette Stadium, so you're not holding
- 1:54:26Speaker 5: anybody up, like there's nobody here, Like you're in a
- 1:54:29Speaker 5: mall and people are all you know, like Christmas time,
- 1:54:32Speaker 5: you know, let's go back aways when people actually used
- 1:54:34Speaker 5: to have to go to the mall. You know, what's
- 1:54:35Speaker 5: that You're causing traffic? That's true, right, pull into the spot,
- 1:54:40Speaker 5: just pulling. You don't have to pull, you're gonna have
- 1:54:42Speaker 5: to back out of it. I get it, but you're
- 1:54:44Speaker 5: causing just as much time.
- 1:54:45Speaker 3: I'm going to be able to get out quicker.
- 1:54:47Speaker 5: And then percent of the people that do it can't
- 1:54:50Speaker 5: and they have to make it a separate swing to
- 1:54:53Speaker 5: go back out and they go back in.
- 1:54:54Speaker 4: But I like backing into the spot.
- 1:54:56Speaker 5: I'm not gonna wait wait, I'm not telling you I've
- 1:54:58Speaker 5: never done it, but I don't hold up, don't went around.
- 1:55:01Speaker 3: But if not just pulling?
- 1:55:02Speaker 4: Oh yeah, like your pointing out here when I come
- 1:55:04Speaker 4: to work back in every time.
- 1:55:06Speaker 5: Because a lot of people like to go around and
- 1:55:08Speaker 5: it'll do the pull through.
- 1:55:09Speaker 4: Yeah, pultures are dangerous. Gotta be careful at that time too.
- 1:55:12Speaker 3: Well, yeah, they are. Somebody could be coming in to
- 1:55:16Speaker 3: a call. We're getting to the end here. Ben Brett
- 1:55:19Speaker 3: is in Western mass What's up, Brett and how.
- 1:55:22Speaker 21: It's going guys the first time? Long time?
- 1:55:25Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 1:55:25Speaker 10: I had a quick.
- 1:55:26Speaker 21: Comment in question regarding DeAndre Hopkins and Jack Jones. Okay,
- 1:55:30Speaker 21: obviously DeAndre Hopkins you know, true disability and had a
- 1:55:34Speaker 21: great visit. But I'd imagine both of his decisions on
- 1:55:38Speaker 21: whether he's going to go to the Pats or wherever
- 1:55:40Speaker 21: he goes going to be based more on that than
- 1:55:42Speaker 21: his kind of rudimentary Oh I want to go to
- 1:55:44Speaker 21: a stable leadership and the defense. But within the context
- 1:55:48Speaker 21: of those points, if Jack Jones is not playing the
- 1:55:51Speaker 21: season wherever the result of his action takes him, does
- 1:55:55Speaker 21: that influence DeAndre Hopkins looking at Pats as a desirable
- 1:55:59Speaker 21: destination and why it may or may not.
- 1:56:02Speaker 4: No, I don't think those too. I don't think DeAndre
- 1:56:05Speaker 4: Hopkins has any clue who Jack Jones is.
- 1:56:07Speaker 5: I can't imagine. I can't imagine that would impact is
- 1:56:10Speaker 5: now Nope, nope, fair thanks taking my question guy.
- 1:56:14Speaker 3: Okay, thanks than.
- 1:56:15Speaker 5: If the Patriots offer more money than anybody else is offering,
- 1:56:18Speaker 5: He's probably gonna listen.
- 1:56:19Speaker 3: D Hop's been around long enough. He's seeing guys come
- 1:56:22Speaker 3: and go. He knows teams have problems.
- 1:56:25Speaker 4: It's not be if it was like and I'm not
- 1:56:28Speaker 4: pushing this upon any thing with Matthew Judon, but like,
- 1:56:31Speaker 4: if it was Matthew Judon, then maybe you would say, oh,
- 1:56:34Speaker 4: like that that's a factor. I seriously doubt that DeAndre
- 1:56:37Speaker 4: Hopkins has any clue who Jack Jones is.
- 1:56:39Speaker 3: Chris with a ti An says, I'm driving in Boston
- 1:56:43Speaker 3: and the majority of your complaints are happening to me
- 1:56:45Speaker 3: right now, and.
- 1:56:46Speaker 5: Then you're probably causing them bozo, and.
- 1:56:48Speaker 3: He says it's Division sixteen, fred right, not Division twenty one.
- 1:56:52Speaker 3: Division sixteen was the restaurant we used to go to.
- 1:56:57Speaker 3: Eric Paul, Have you done a factory reset? It can
- 1:57:01Speaker 3: reset Apple Play. If you've done a factory reset.
- 1:57:03Speaker 5: You've done a factory factory research phone.
- 1:57:07Speaker 3: Google your car brand and say factory reset radio. I'll
- 1:57:12Speaker 3: tell you how to do it.
- 1:57:12Speaker 5: I'll look into that.
- 1:57:13Speaker 3: Thank you. Usually hold down two buttons for.
- 1:57:16Speaker 5: I can't even back up my phone anymore. I don't know.
- 1:57:18Speaker 4: Your kids have to be able to fix this for you.
- 1:57:20Speaker 5: No, they haven't been able to.
- 1:57:21Speaker 4: Really.
- 1:57:22Speaker 5: My son's just going to be majoring in like digital
- 1:57:24Speaker 5: media told me yesterday, quote, I suck at techie stuff.
- 1:57:28Speaker 4: That is. That's a disappointing thing.
- 1:57:31Speaker 3: Also, Eric says, if you're first at the light, you
- 1:57:34Speaker 3: have a responsibility to not be on your phone. And
- 1:57:37Speaker 3: Instagram is a luxury for the line. I don't know
- 1:57:40Speaker 3: what the line. I don't know what he means by
- 1:57:43Speaker 3: luxury for the line.
- 1:57:44Speaker 5: We've had a lot of people speaking the wrong.
- 1:57:47Speaker 3: Oh, I see what he means. If you're backing back
- 1:57:50Speaker 3: in the back in the line and it's a luxury
- 1:57:52Speaker 3: for back.
- 1:57:52Speaker 4: Then No, I'm just gonna do what I want to do.
- 1:57:55Speaker 5: Things I certainly don't. I don't do any of that stuff.
- 1:57:59Speaker 5: I'm traveled. I do look at my texts, and.
- 1:58:01Speaker 4: Texts could be like Twitter scroll scroll.
- 1:58:04Speaker 5: Like in a situation a couple last week with DeAndre Hopkins. Yeah,
- 1:58:08Speaker 5: like I'm driving home, Hey, anybody.
- 1:58:10Speaker 4: Well, that's like my worst nightmare is that, like something
- 1:58:13Speaker 4: major like that is going to happen while I'm driving.
- 1:58:15Speaker 4: Because you know, we we get paid, we get paid
- 1:58:19Speaker 4: to react to these sort of things, and uh, if
- 1:58:22Speaker 4: I'm like on the middle of ninety three and they
- 1:58:24Speaker 4: signed DeAndre Hopkins, it's like, oh no, Like, what do
- 1:58:26Speaker 4: I do I pull over?
- 1:58:27Speaker 6: Like?
- 1:58:27Speaker 4: What do I do?
- 1:58:28Speaker 3: Pull over? Do we have a Catch twenty two coming up?
- 1:58:31Speaker 3: We do? All right, So that's coming up right now
- 1:58:34Speaker 3: with Alex and Evan, So stay tuned for that. Maybe
- 1:58:37Speaker 3: they'll talk football, maybe more carb problems, but us for us,
