- 0:00Erin Gray: Welcome back to Your Money, Your Rules Podcast with me, your host, Erin Gray.
- 0:04Erin Gray: So glad you're here.
- 0:05Erin Gray: Today we are going to get out our journals.
- 0:09Erin Gray: And I really want this to be a podcast around discussing if your business could talk, if your money and your body could talk, what would it say?
- 0:19Erin Gray: So let's dive in.
- 0:21Erin Gray: I think for a lot of us as entrepreneurs, you know, so many of us are focused on growing and how can we, you know, create the life we want and you know, in every area of our life, especially with business, you know, with money.
- 0:33Erin Gray: And I don't think a lot of us sometimes take the time, which I think it's, you know, you could probably do this once a month, whatever feels good for you, but like take the time to actually speak to our business and our money and our bodies.
- 0:45Erin Gray: And you could do this for every relationship, right?
- 0:47Erin Gray: Like everything that we are in in our life is a relationship.
- 0:51Erin Gray: You have a relationship with your spouse and your child and your community and your friends and your business and your money and your body and all the things.
- 0:59Erin Gray: Everything is consciousness.
- 1:00Erin Gray: And I think that some of my best advice simply comes from me just asking the relationship that I'm in, that I am, you know, working with, whether that be money or that be business or my body recently.
- 1:12Erin Gray: And I just ask it, like, what do you want to say to me?
- 1:14Erin Gray: So let's talk about your business first off.
- 1:17Erin Gray: Sometimes we can treat our business like a machine that should be constantly producing results and that we can act a little bit impatient when we have made some changes, but we haven't yet seen the results show up in the 3D yet.
- 1:30Erin Gray: What I mean is like you've already become the person, you already have taken the action and you're just waiting for the actual either the numbers or whatever it might be in your business to show or catch up in the 3D.
- 1:43Erin Gray: And sometimes our feelings can be one of impatience or frustration.
- 1:48Erin Gray: There's like some of those lower vibration emotions.
- 1:50Erin Gray: And sometimes what I sense with clients is like this sense of urgency or like rushing to get to where they're going, which that to me is always a signal that like you're chasing a feeling because we can feel calm, we can feel certain, no matter how, if you want to call it like, you know, chaotic our business might feel on the on the outside.
- 2:12Erin Gray: We can choose to feel calm on the inside.
- 2:15Erin Gray: So if we're rushing, if we are feeling impatient, if we are feeling frustration, our business also senses that.
- 2:22Erin Gray: So the flip side, and I don't always want to think like we're feeling the lower vibration emotions, right?
- 2:27Erin Gray: We can feel excitement, we can feel appreciation for our business, but maybe we aren't acknowledging our business and giving it the appreciation that it deserves and, you know, and the praise that it deserves.
- 2:39Erin Gray: So I'm going to actually share some of my downloads that I received in each of these areas, my business, my our money, and then also our my body.
- 2:48Erin Gray: And then I'm going to, you know, share like you do this exercise, and then you ask yourself, your body and your money and your business to really sit down with it and give it the time that it needs so that it you can receive and hear the answers that it wants to give you.
- 3:03Erin Gray: But when I asked my business, what do you want to share with me?
- 3:07Erin Gray: Some of the things that came up was to own my brilliance, to have more boundaries and to stick with them.
- 3:12Erin Gray: And I know that that is a place of growth for me.
- 3:16Erin Gray: So I recognize that.
- 3:18Erin Gray: And I have already like seen where am I not holding boundaries.
- 3:22Erin Gray: And I've decided obviously, it's like, yeah, I'm gonna do that for you, right?
- 3:25Erin Gray: I'm gonna do that for you and I'm gonna do that for myself.
- 3:27Erin Gray: It also told me to say yes less often.
- 3:30Erin Gray: I'm probably a yes girl.
- 3:32Erin Gray: I want to say yes to all the things.
- 3:33Erin Gray: And I recognize there's so many hours a week that I want to work.
- 3:36Erin Gray: There's, you know, a certain amount of what I actually want to do in my business and what, and sometimes I was telling this to a client the other day.
- 3:44Erin Gray: I'm like, you know, sometimes it has to go like the next week or the week after or the following week because there's a certain amount of time that you want to work and that you have allocated.
- 3:54Erin Gray: So if it can't be put in those time periods, then it's gonna have to go to next week or the following week.
- 4:00Erin Gray: It also, my business also told me to give what it said to me was give me even more space.
- 4:05Erin Gray: I think that sometimes when I get on my ideas and my downloads, and I'm like, okay, let's go.
- 4:11Erin Gray: And I'm like, and my business was like, hang on, give me a little bit, like give me some space and to trust me more.
- 4:19Erin Gray: And I think so often, entrepreneurs, we compare ourselves, our business to somebody else's highlight reels, like I'm not on Instagram, but if you're on social media and you're looking at or you're going to events or you're talking to other, you know, CEOs and they're talking about their business, if you really aren't tuned in and dialed into yourself and your self-concept and how you feel about yourself, and someone else is at a different revenue number than you are.
- 4:48Erin Gray: And if you are building up a story about what that revenue number means for them and what it doesn't mean for you, and all of this stuff, which I think a lot of times we do, and we think and we put these stories together that someone's growing faster, making more money, or whatever we make up in our mind, right?
- 5:02Erin Gray: That we don't actually give ourselves and our business the space to speak to us.
- 5:06Erin Gray: And the one thing I want you to take away from here, not just the journaling, but like how can you continue to go go within?
- 5:12Erin Gray: Like I think sometimes we can consume too much and we just need to turn it off.
- 5:16Erin Gray: We need to go within.
- 5:18Erin Gray: We need to ask ourselves, we need to sit with ourselves, be bored.
- 5:21Erin Gray: So your business, just like anything else, is a relationship.
- 5:24Erin Gray: And sometimes it needs patience and it needs maybe a little bit more attention than what it has been getting.
- 5:28Erin Gray: Maybe it needs a little bit more time to kind of sift through.
- 5:32Erin Gray: And, you know, maybe you're making some big changes in your business.
- 5:34Erin Gray: Maybe it needs a little bit of time to work through all of that.
- 5:37Erin Gray: You know, if you're sitting over here like chop, chop, chop, hurry up, let's get on it.
- 5:41Erin Gray: Like, how do you think your business feels?
- 5:43Erin Gray: So sometimes the most powerful thing that we can do isn't to actually push harder.
- 5:47Erin Gray: It's actually to slow down and to listen more, to receive more.
- 5:52Erin Gray: So ask yourself if my business could speak honestly to me today, what would it say?
- 5:58Erin Gray: And also I think asking yourself, and what do I want to say to my business?
- 6:03Erin Gray: So that's the first one.
- 6:04Erin Gray: Let's talk about money.
- 6:05Erin Gray: If money could talk, I think that I think there's four like best self-development.
- 6:10Erin Gray: I call them classes, but I don't know what else you want to call them.
- 6:12Erin Gray: Pillars, right?
- 6:13Erin Gray: If if you want to know about, learn about yourself, these four things marriage, kids, business, and money, right?
- 6:20Erin Gray: Like those are all perfect mirrors, reflections for you to see what you are actually thinking and feeling about yourself.
- 6:27Erin Gray: And all of us, I haven't met anyone who doesn't have a thought about money, whether it's, you know, air quotes positive or negative, whatever you want to say.
- 6:35Erin Gray: We all have our thoughts about money.
- 6:36Erin Gray: And many of us are very emotional when it comes to money.
- 6:40Erin Gray: So I'm gonna share a couple of downloads that I received when I asked our money, what did it want to say to me?
- 6:45Erin Gray: Which was surprising because it said the first thing it said was, let's even have more fun.
- 6:50Erin Gray: And I recognize sometimes where I feel like I've come a long way from where I used to be.
- 6:56Erin Gray: But sometimes I can even kind of fall back into my seriousness or I think I'm having a lot of fun and like what's next level of fun, right?
- 7:03Erin Gray: So it also told me, thank you for caring for me.
- 7:07Erin Gray: It may, it'll make me cry.
- 7:08Erin Gray: Thank you for caring for me and changing so much over the last couple of years.
- 7:13Erin Gray: I know you have made a lot of strides with your relationship with me, and I'm really proud of you.
- 7:18Erin Gray: And it's really fascinating when you give yourself and the, you know, the entity, call it your business or your money or whatever it might be, the space, what it actually tells you.
- 7:29Erin Gray: And that was such an endearing thing for me because I know how much time and I don't want to say time, but effort I have spent on myself and on my relationship with money over the last six years.
- 7:43Erin Gray: And for some of us, a lot of us grow up with, I think all of us, right?
- 7:47Erin Gray: We all grow up with different beliefs around money.
- 7:51Erin Gray: I would feel like I had very conflicting beliefs around money.
- 7:54Erin Gray: I saw all the good that money can do.
- 7:57Erin Gray: I also saw when, you know, you feel like you don't have enough money, how stressed you can feel.
- 8:03Erin Gray: Not that money's doing that, but that's what my interpretation was with my parents.
- 8:07Erin Gray: So having this conflicting relationship with money versus me now seeing money as this just pure love and this thing that wants to be shared and transferred and allocated to places that bring every, you know, you joy and really moving away from that conflicting relationship and more so in the pattern of love.
- 8:28Erin Gray: Like anything else, I don't do it perfectly, but I'm definitely more in that energy of loving, feeling loving with money, loving on my money, thinking money is from that energy of love than what I used to.
- 8:41Erin Gray: And so when we grow up with different beliefs around money, sometimes we question it.
- 8:47Erin Gray: Sometimes, you know, something happens, and then we're kind of forced to actually see what our money beliefs are.
- 8:53Erin Gray: And if we have had beliefs around like working hard for money, which I used to have, or we have to earn our fund first, which I used to have that belief, or, you know, it's okay to spend on necessary things, but something that you just want just because you want it, that's not okay, which that's a belief I've also had to work through.
- 9:11Erin Gray: So when you have those beliefs, whatever that they are about money, they shape how you run your business, how you allocate your money, how you invest, how you circulate, how much fun or not fun you're having with money.
- 9:26Erin Gray: So if you were to ask money, you were to ask your money, which I really think that I've been reading, rereading a book called It's Not Your Money by I think her name is Tasha Silver.
- 9:36Erin Gray: I'll put the link in the show notes.
- 9:38Erin Gray: But she has a book called It's Not Your Money.
- 9:40Erin Gray: It's actually God's money.
- 9:42Erin Gray: And, you know, whatever your relationship with is with God or source, but like we are just the vessel, you know?
- 9:47Erin Gray: And so when I started to look at our, when I say our money, me and my husband's money, our money, like it's God's money.
- 9:53Erin Gray: And how do I actually want to just be the vessel and the conduit?
- 9:56Erin Gray: I want to be a really huge conduit and vessel for money, right?
- 10:01Erin Gray: I want a lot of money to flow through to me.
- 10:03Erin Gray: I want a lot of money to flow through me and to be able to help and to serve humanity.
- 10:09Erin Gray: And so when we look at it through God's money instead of our money, that is also another way that we can shape our relationship with money and we aren't so like clingy, right?
- 10:18Erin Gray: Obviously, you got to do all of the emotional and the body release stuff and the processing your emotions.
- 10:23Erin Gray: But I think when we can look at it, money is like it's not our money, right?
- 10:26Erin Gray: Like we're not taking it with we with us when we leave this earth that it's it's God's money.
- 10:31Erin Gray: It's it's coming from source, right?
- 10:33Erin Gray: So if you were to ask your money, what did it want to say to you?
- 10:37Erin Gray: What does it want to tell you?
- 10:39Erin Gray: How are you treating it?
- 10:41Erin Gray: What would it say?
- 10:42Erin Gray: And I would also add here, what do you want to say to money?
- 10:45Erin Gray: I think this is a perfect opportunity for you to think about what do you want to say and what would money say to you?
- 10:51Erin Gray: Because a relationship is two-sided, right?
- 10:53Erin Gray: It's not just one way.
- 10:54Erin Gray: Okay, so let's talk about.
- 10:56Erin Gray: I think something that I've probably ignored.
- 10:58Erin Gray: I've probably taken my health for granted.
- 11:00Erin Gray: I've always been healthy.
- 11:01Erin Gray: I I consider myself healthy.
- 11:03Erin Gray: That's the way I view myself.
- 11:04Erin Gray: But probably over the last, I'll probably say over the last year, you know, I have shared before, like I was, I was eating well, I was exercising, but I was gaining weight.
- 11:13Erin Gray: And, you know, I would maybe restrict my food of like, hey, maybe I don't need to eat the carbs as much or something like that.
- 11:19Erin Gray: Like, what's going on here, you know?
- 11:22Erin Gray: And what like, are there sensitivities?
- 11:24Erin Gray: And then reaching out and because I am totally not in on the medical, the typical Western medical bus.
- 11:32Erin Gray: So I've been very reticent, I guess is the word that I want to use around who do I want to work with?
- 11:37Erin Gray: Because I really wanted someone who was holistic, who was more so on like the body knows exactly what to do.
- 11:42Erin Gray: Like, like, let's actually tap into the body and let's support the body.
- 11:47Erin Gray: We don't need to like fix the symptom.
- 11:49Erin Gray: And so finding someone that I work with now that has supported me in lots of areas in my body.
- 11:57Erin Gray: When I asked the body the other day, like, what do you want to say to me?
- 12:01Erin Gray: It said, Thank you so much for taking care of me.
- 12:05Erin Gray: You know, I've been sending you signals for a while, but you weren't actually like receiving the message.
- 12:11Erin Gray: I was hearing it, right?
- 12:12Erin Gray: Like I was seeing, like, hey, this is off, but I was just thinking, like, oh, okay, is it my food?
- 12:17Erin Gray: Do I need to eat less carbs?
- 12:19Erin Gray: Like, what's going on here?
- 12:20Erin Gray: And so really taking the time to be like, hang on, this is a symptom.
- 12:25Erin Gray: This isn't the root cause.
- 12:27Erin Gray: Let me find someone that can support you.
- 12:30Erin Gray: And the other thing that it said was, I was doing all that I could to support you.
- 12:34Erin Gray: You know, thank you for finally receiving the help and the support that we needed.
- 12:39Erin Gray: We, as in the body, right?
- 12:40Erin Gray: I know exactly what to do.
- 12:42Erin Gray: Just give me time.
- 12:43Erin Gray: And this is something that I tell the lady that I'm working with like the body knows exactly what to do.
- 12:48Erin Gray: I just need to support her while she's in this phase.
- 12:52Erin Gray: And what that looks like for me now is some more naps.
- 12:56Erin Gray: It looks like not going to the gym sometimes.
- 12:59Erin Gray: Even when my brain says I need to go to the gym, I'm like, actually, just kind of actually want to go walk on the green belt.
- 13:04Erin Gray: So often our bodies are talking to us, but a lot of us, I think, are so focused on other things that we keep pushing through.
- 13:12Erin Gray: We aren't as tuned in and tapped in as we could be.
- 13:15Erin Gray: We can value everything, but sometimes we value business or, you know, generating money over other things in our life, like our bodies.
- 13:24Erin Gray: And so I want to ask you, what does your body need?
- 13:27Erin Gray: Does your body need more rest?
- 13:28Erin Gray: You know, I have noticed that in the afternoon times I actually want and my body is desiring to take a nap.
- 13:36Erin Gray: So scheduling that before I go pick up my daughter from school, like giving myself 30 minutes to take a nap to give myself.
- 13:43Erin Gray: And that has been something that I've had to work through because I have grown up around a father who worked 12 hours a day, right?
- 13:51Erin Gray: And so there was some conditioning around resting and taking a nap.
- 13:56Erin Gray: And hey, you're taking a nap in the middle of the day, you know, you're moving client calls so that you can actually take a nap, or I should say scheduling client calls around your naps.
- 14:05Erin Gray: But yeah, that's what the body needs right now.
- 14:08Erin Gray: So listening to the body, tapping in, it knows exactly what to do.
- 14:13Erin Gray: And instead of pushing ourselves more, really thinking about like this is the vehicle or the vessel, right?
- 14:21Erin Gray: This is the only vehicle or vessel that I will have while I'm on planet Earth and loving it and taking care of it.
- 14:28Erin Gray: So if you were to ask your body, what does it want to share with you?
- 14:31Erin Gray: What does it want to say?
- 14:33Erin Gray: What would it say to you?
- 14:34Erin Gray: Also, what do you want to say to your body?
- 14:37Erin Gray: And sometimes this might come up, and I didn't say this with the money or the business, sometimes there might be frustration or anger or grief or sadness or shame.
- 14:47Erin Gray: It's okay.
- 14:48Erin Gray: Like, I think this is a perfect time for you to be able to say, This is what I'm feeling.
- 14:54Erin Gray: Like, are you not addressing things that you're actually feeling and allowing yourself to journal those out and to get those up and out and off of your chest?
- 15:04Erin Gray: So let's journal on these three questions.
- 15:06Erin Gray: What would your business say?
- 15:08Erin Gray: What would your money say?
- 15:09Erin Gray: And what would your body say?
- 15:11Erin Gray: And then also turn those around and say, what would you say to your business?
- 15:14Erin Gray: What would you say to your money?
- 15:16Erin Gray: And what would you say to your body?
- 15:17Erin Gray: Everything is consciousness.
- 15:19Erin Gray: Everything is always communicating with us every single day.
- 15:22Erin Gray: The question is, are we listening?
- 15:23Erin Gray: So you could ask yourself, what's one thing my business needs for me right now?
- 15:28Erin Gray: And it could be multiple things, but like, what's one thing that you need from me right now?
- 15:32Erin Gray: What's one thing my money is trying to teach me?
- 15:35Erin Gray: And what's one thing that my body has been asking for that I've been ignoring?
- 15:39Erin Gray: Okay, hopefully you will get lots of insights from this.
- 15:43Erin Gray: Give yourself the time, come back, listen to this.
- 15:45Erin Gray: If you're in the car, you're on a jog or at the gym, come back to this, listen to this, spend the time to journal about this.
- 15:52Erin Gray: And this doesn't have to be done over a day, right?
- 15:54Erin Gray: Like give yourself a week or plus to be with your business.
- 15:58Erin Gray: Give yourself time to be with your body.
- 16:01Erin Gray: Give yourself time to be with your money and talk to your money and your body and your business.
- 16:06Erin Gray: Listen to what it's saying and also share what your thoughts and feelings are with it.
- 16:11Erin Gray: Okay, as always, thank you for being here.
- 16:14Erin Gray: I love each of you, and I will see you in the next episode.
