- 0:41Speaker 1: audio version of this podcast for ten plus years. This
- 0:47Speaker 1: is the anniversary year for hip Hop Now Podcasts. So
- 0:52Speaker 1: support the merch support becoming a member. Information is in
- 0:57Speaker 1: the description of this episode. But if you can't do
- 1:00Speaker 1: any of that, the most important thing you could do,
- 1:04Speaker 1: really is all the little things they have available to you.
- 1:07Speaker 1: If you're on Apple Podcasts, review the joint if you
- 1:10Speaker 1: like it, even if you don't like it, whatever, review it,
- 1:13Speaker 1: I don't care. If you're on YouTube, like, comment, subscribe,
- 1:19Speaker 1: But most importantly share it with people. You know what
- 1:22Speaker 1: I'm saying, because we all do it all the time.
- 1:25Speaker 1: You see something some of us overshare. You see it
- 1:28Speaker 1: all the time on social people social media that people
- 1:34Speaker 1: will share millions of videos with you all kinds of
- 1:38Speaker 1: information and stuff like that, which is cool. So do
- 1:41Speaker 1: the same for this shut we're putting in work, and
- 1:46Speaker 1: today we're putting in extra work because you know what
- 1:49Speaker 1: time it is. Okay, I got a couple disclaimers. I
- 1:55Speaker 1: did this during the battle, I did this after the battle.
- 2:00Speaker 1: I did this when me and Tone shout out to Tone.
- 2:03Speaker 1: We did an episode of that time in hip hop
- 2:05Speaker 1: on Drake's Take Care album, a favorable review re review
- 2:12Speaker 1: of that album. So the disclaimer is, there are no
- 2:17Speaker 1: k bots, there are no Drake stands loud. I myself
- 2:25Speaker 1: was always a Drake fan, was always a Kendrick fan,
- 2:29Speaker 1: was always a cold fan. I can't pretend because of
- 2:33Speaker 1: a battle, I need to pick a side. I'm a
- 2:35Speaker 1: grown man. I don't need to pick no side. They
- 2:38Speaker 1: not buying me no money. You know, the ain't not
- 2:40Speaker 1: buying me nothing, So why you have to feel the
- 2:43Speaker 1: need to pick a side. But when it's a battle,
- 2:47Speaker 1: there's winners and losers, and that's the opinion. So if
- 2:51Speaker 1: you go back and check out any of the content,
- 2:54Speaker 1: that's where it's based in. We hip hop for real.
- 3:00Speaker 1: If you're watch and you see it, we hip hop
- 3:02Speaker 1: for real out here. But the disclaimer has to keep
- 3:09Speaker 1: going though I ain't gonna front. We have to look
- 3:14Speaker 1: at this objectively as music fans. If you're not a
- 3:18Speaker 1: music fan and you're like a social media I like
- 3:21Speaker 1: being in the conversation fan, get on out of here,
- 3:25Speaker 1: you can go. You know why I say that, because
- 3:28Speaker 1: you're not really as invested as you say you are.
- 3:32Speaker 1: You say you're a Drake fan, but are you? Or
- 3:36Speaker 1: you just like being on a side so you can
- 3:39Speaker 1: do this in between getting people's find out of biggie bags. Ready,
- 3:47Speaker 1: some of us have real jobs, not that that's not
- 3:50Speaker 1: a real job, because trust me, I like finding out
- 3:52Speaker 1: the biggie bags and somebody gotta make that shit. Okay.
- 3:56Speaker 1: But what I'm saying is there's no future in your
- 4:00Speaker 1: front okay if you can't look at these things subjectively,
- 4:05Speaker 1: And you don't have to like Kendrick and you don't
- 4:07Speaker 1: have to like Drake, you don't have to like any
- 4:09Speaker 1: of them. But we're here to have a conversation about
- 4:15Speaker 1: the music. This is my Drake review of his brand
- 4:19Speaker 1: new album Iceman. But Drake dropped three albums last night.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Three Now. The first thought that came to my head
- 4:31Speaker 1: was sounds like somebody trying to fulfill a contract so
- 4:36Speaker 1: they could go independent, And when you listen to the album, well, yeah,
- 4:40Speaker 1: it sounds like that's the plan. You know. I don't
- 4:44Speaker 1: know if these three albums fulfill his contract, but there's
- 4:48Speaker 1: a method behind the madness and he kind of alludes
- 4:51Speaker 1: to that on the albums. But we're only here to
- 4:55Speaker 1: review Iceman because it's the hip hop album. The other two,
- 5:02Speaker 1: which is what is it, Habiiti and Made of Honor,
- 5:06Speaker 1: those are more like R and B Drake. One of
- 5:09Speaker 1: them is an R and B joint, the other one
- 5:11Speaker 1: is more like dance Drake. And what I like about
- 5:16Speaker 1: him releasing these three types of albums, they're just people
- 5:20Speaker 1: who are fans of certain versions of Drake, right, some
- 5:25Speaker 1: people that want to argue y'o he spit. He don't
- 5:28Speaker 1: need ghostwriters. Iceman is for you, those like myself who
- 5:33Speaker 1: want to, you know, like the R and B stylish Drake.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Habat He is for you, those who want Drake to
- 5:43Speaker 1: keep making you wave your hands and move your feet.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Made of Honors for you. And they're all three different
- 5:52Speaker 1: looks at Drake across his career, the type of music
- 5:56Speaker 1: he's made the approaches to the flows, right, it's all here.
- 6:04Speaker 1: That's why it feels like he's feeling, you know, trying
- 6:07Speaker 1: to fulfill a contract so he can get out of it.
- 6:11Speaker 1: But Iceman is the one we're going to focus on
- 6:14Speaker 1: because it's the hip hop record, and yes, he talking
- 6:18Speaker 1: about everything. Okay, now, ye'ah know how I do when
- 6:22Speaker 1: it comes to reviewing albums. Three listens. Get it, you've
- 6:27Speaker 1: seen the cover. Three listens, right. The first listen, I'm
- 6:32Speaker 1: just giving you my impressions, right, I'm just going listen
- 6:36Speaker 1: to hear what's there. Second listen, Now I'm familiar with
- 6:40Speaker 1: the records. I'm listening to the lyrics a little bit deeper.
- 6:42Speaker 1: I'm drawing the connections between the songs and the album
- 6:45Speaker 1: cover and the overall concept. And the third listen is
- 6:50Speaker 1: just to confirm my thoughts. And for those who do
- 6:53Speaker 1: not want to sit through a long review, I like it. Now.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Some people may say, nah, but you look and Drake.
- 7:05Speaker 1: I didn't say Drake won the battle. We ain't going
- 7:09Speaker 1: back in time and changing our bets. My bet was
- 7:13Speaker 1: placed before the battle, and what happened is what happened.
- 7:18Speaker 1: It's two years later, but let me tell you why
- 7:23Speaker 1: I say I like it, and let me tell you
- 7:26Speaker 1: some of the things I don't like. Right So, on
- 7:30Speaker 1: the one hand, what I do, well, let's just get
- 7:32Speaker 1: through it real quick. The album is about what is it?
- 7:39Speaker 1: Eighteen tracks, about an hour and nine minutes, which is cool.
- 7:44Speaker 1: You know I could do an hour, but you go
- 7:47Speaker 1: too far over that. I don't know. Features include twenty
- 7:50Speaker 1: one Savage, but he don't really have a verse on hand,
- 7:56Speaker 1: so I was cool with it. Okay, it's cool with it,
- 7:59Speaker 1: Future and Molly Santana. I'm sorry if Molly Santana somebody
- 8:04Speaker 1: knew like he coming from the town. He's pure garbage
- 8:08Speaker 1: because first of all, his verse was dumb short. I'm
- 8:10Speaker 1: not supposed to be reviewing right now, but I just
- 8:12Speaker 1: gotta let y'all know his verse was dumb short. At first,
- 8:16Speaker 1: I was first couple of bars, I was like, okay, shorty,
- 8:20Speaker 1: but then it was like the rest of this short
- 8:24Speaker 1: verse was him repeating the same thing four times, get out,
- 8:27Speaker 1: get get him out of here, get it. I don't
- 8:29Speaker 1: care where he's hot or send me the thing that's hot,
- 8:33Speaker 1: because this wasn't it. Okay, that was it for features,
- 8:37Speaker 1: But I feel like there are other people on here
- 8:41Speaker 1: that aren't listed or or maybe it's just sounds or whatever.
- 8:45Speaker 1: But the album starts out with a song called make
- 8:51Speaker 1: Them Cry, classic Drake type track. You know what I'm
- 8:55Speaker 1: saying with some rapping, he can rap, you know what
- 9:01Speaker 1: I'm saying. Like, I mean, I don't have any confirmation
- 9:03Speaker 1: of any ghostwriters for this, and I'm sure if there is,
- 9:07Speaker 1: the Internet will find him. But he definitely can rap.
- 9:13Speaker 1: And I sort of expected him to talk about, you know,
- 9:20Speaker 1: the Kendrick situation, the battle. I was more so looking
- 9:25Speaker 1: for him to talk about the lossuit and he did
- 9:31Speaker 1: throughout the album. But here's my issue, right, he said
- 9:36Speaker 1: something that made sense to a certain part of the
- 9:42Speaker 1: hip hop audience or the audience in general. That's not
- 9:46Speaker 1: feeling him being you know, basically suing over a rap battle. Now,
- 9:52Speaker 1: he said, I'm suing the man, Drake, you have the
- 9:58Speaker 1: man whatever he's he said, he's suing the man and
- 10:01Speaker 1: not the rapper, and saying, you know people not paying attention, Well,
- 10:06Speaker 1: that's not everybody we know you're suing. UMG, we're clear
- 10:11Speaker 1: on that. All that We've seen, all the court documents.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Every content creator is talked about it. We know, we
- 10:17Speaker 1: know you're not suing Kendrick Lamar, but you are right
- 10:22Speaker 1: because not like us as the basis for your case, right,
- 10:28Speaker 1: not only deflammation of character, which has to U and
- 10:33Speaker 1: G didn't write Kendrick's lyrics. Kendrick wrote it, and the
- 10:37Speaker 1: whole notion of bots, which is also dressed here and
- 10:41Speaker 1: addressed in his video where he goes to a bot
- 10:43Speaker 1: farm and destroys the stuff. This is the thing, and
- 10:48Speaker 1: I know, let's just say the court finds that UMG
- 10:55Speaker 1: used bots to boost not like us, you know, like
- 10:59Speaker 1: I know, it wasn't bots in the super Bowl stadium.
- 11:03Speaker 1: It wasn't bots. Welcome to America, Drake. It was what
- 11:08Speaker 1: people do when they really like a record, right, they
- 11:11Speaker 1: play it to death. You don't need bots, But let's
- 11:15Speaker 1: just say UMG was like, oh, it's going, but let's
- 11:19Speaker 1: make it go some more with some bots. Well, then
- 11:23Speaker 1: you open up the door for them to potentially expose
- 11:29Speaker 1: that you've probably had bots. So you see what I mean,
- 11:34Speaker 1: like lines like this throughout the album to almost appear
- 11:38Speaker 1: like a hero or a victim or someone sacrificing everything
- 11:46Speaker 1: when we know how this started. Y'all remember Drop drop drop.
- 11:52Speaker 1: He was begging for it, and because he came out
- 11:57Speaker 1: on the loser side of it, that's what happened, y'all.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Now we have all this other stuff. So for some people,
- 12:05Speaker 1: and I'm just saying this because it's the elephant in
- 12:08Speaker 1: the room when you press play, anybody's wondering what is
- 12:13Speaker 1: he going to say about this person and that person?
- 12:16Speaker 1: And that's just it. It's kind of like he almost
- 12:20Speaker 1: had to do it. I don't think he did. I
- 12:23Speaker 1: honestly thought he should have taken the best from this album,
- 12:27Speaker 1: the best from the R and B joint, and the
- 12:29Speaker 1: best from that dance joint, and just made one album
- 12:31Speaker 1: that probably would have been really hot. But instead he
- 12:35Speaker 1: chose to make an album where he really I guess
- 12:39Speaker 1: it kind of got it out of his system by
- 12:41Speaker 1: dressing everything. And so for some people when they hear
- 12:47Speaker 1: Drake try to revise the battle or revise the his
- 12:53Speaker 1: viewpoint on certain things and certain people, it's going to
- 12:57Speaker 1: be an instant turnoff. I didn't mine as much because
- 13:03Speaker 1: you're still lost, dog, like you still lost, So telling
- 13:07Speaker 1: me something now is not going to make me say, well,
- 13:10Speaker 1: maybe he didn't lose, maybe he won. We don't do
- 13:14Speaker 1: revisions history over here. We were outside, we know what happens.
- 13:18Speaker 1: We know you weren't here. Because also on this album
- 13:22Speaker 1: there's a lot of peace offerings to the city of
- 13:30Speaker 1: Los Angeles and Oakland. Drake is trying to talk his
- 13:36Speaker 1: way back in because we know he wasn't there, and
- 13:39Speaker 1: if he was, he was, he would probably have Michael
- 13:43Speaker 1: Jackson wig on and the cover of that we know
- 13:46Speaker 1: you weren't there. We know what happened though, So it's
- 13:53Speaker 1: a lot of that on this album. And I know
- 13:56Speaker 1: it sounds like, oh, I don't like it or whatever
- 13:58Speaker 1: like that. What I want to point out is what's
- 14:01Speaker 1: most obvious about this album when you press play, is
- 14:04Speaker 1: that he's going to address everything, and he's going to
- 14:08Speaker 1: say some things that didn't happen. And some of it
- 14:12Speaker 1: is from his perspective, some of it I believe, most
- 14:16Speaker 1: of it I don't because we know what happened, right.
- 14:22Speaker 1: The other thing is, don't think of this album as
- 14:26Speaker 1: being all about that, because that's part of the reason
- 14:30Speaker 1: why I do like it. Every single word out his
- 14:33Speaker 1: mouth isn't about the battle on what happened and blah
- 14:37Speaker 1: blah blah. There's a lot more here that I like
- 14:40Speaker 1: than I don't like. And if we're talking about lyrics
- 14:43Speaker 1: and talking about people like, I don't really care about
- 14:47Speaker 1: hearing entertainer disc athletes like because I really don't want
- 14:53Speaker 1: any lebron any of y'all to respond rapping to him.
- 14:58Speaker 1: You're gonna get cooked. Put the ball in hoop. But
- 15:02Speaker 1: he chose to do so because of what he was seeing,
- 15:05Speaker 1: So I thought it was fine if he want to
- 15:07Speaker 1: take his jabs at people he called friends and all
- 15:09Speaker 1: of that. But the part that back during the battle,
- 15:17Speaker 1: and I'm not gonna clip it, it's available on my
- 15:20Speaker 1: channel in real time. I said I need Drake to
- 15:25Speaker 1: jump on Jake call. And some people say, why would
- 15:30Speaker 1: you say that. You know what I'm saying, He peaceful,
- 15:32Speaker 1: you know he hooped for the monkeys. Well, the reason
- 15:38Speaker 1: why I said it back then was because, regardless of
- 15:42Speaker 1: whether Drake won a battle against Kendrick Lamar, j Cole
- 15:49Speaker 1: backed out in a way when he had a lot
- 15:51Speaker 1: of responsibility in this thing kind of going down like this, right,
- 15:57Speaker 1: two of them hugging and kissing on stage. Remember that
- 16:00Speaker 1: these things happen first person shooter, you know how he
- 16:04Speaker 1: was talking and then he tried to go at Kendrick
- 16:08Speaker 1: and drop the dud that he removed from a mixtape
- 16:13Speaker 1: that was pretty good, and then he comes back outside
- 16:17Speaker 1: and you know he's apologizing. Before that, he made a
- 16:20Speaker 1: whole song apologizing to Drake, just for Drake to be like,
- 16:26Speaker 1: I don't want to be your friend. The more I
- 16:30Speaker 1: turned around and you were gone. At least Drake fought,
- 16:38Speaker 1: regardless if you feel he won or not, at least
- 16:40Speaker 1: he fought. He had the most to lose. If we
- 16:45Speaker 1: keep it in the buck, he was the bigger artist
- 16:48Speaker 1: out of the three. Like universally, everybody has their you
- 16:54Speaker 1: know what they feel about them as MC's. But that's
- 16:57Speaker 1: what kind of made those three kind of dope. Different flavors,
- 17:02Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. You can like Drake and
- 17:03Speaker 1: not like the other two. You can like Kendrick and
- 17:05Speaker 1: not like the other two. Same thing with Ja Cole.
- 17:08Speaker 1: So it's kind of one of those things where I
- 17:12Speaker 1: was waiting for Drake to say something, and I loved
- 17:18Speaker 1: everything he said. Because it's true. Ja Cole can drop
- 17:23Speaker 1: out of the battle all he wants, He can try
- 17:28Speaker 1: to be the peacemaker all he wants, but the time
- 17:30Speaker 1: to be the peacemaker was before you engaged in the battle.
- 17:35Speaker 1: You can't throw a punch, and now you realize you
- 17:38Speaker 1: missed and you probably gonna get beat up. Now you're
- 17:42Speaker 1: gonna leave. But they beating your man up. He ain't
- 17:46Speaker 1: gonna at least break it up. Since this is your
- 17:49Speaker 1: brother and another one of your brothers, you ain't gonna
- 17:52Speaker 1: break it up. You skated. So I did like that
- 17:57Speaker 1: about Drake's Larry because it's probably on my favorite song
- 18:03Speaker 1: on this album, which is make Them Pay. I like
- 18:05Speaker 1: to beat. I like the way he's rapping. I like
- 18:09Speaker 1: a lot of things he's saying, especially the J Cole stuff,
- 18:14Speaker 1: because I felt like I want J Cole to respond
- 18:17Speaker 1: to Drake. We can't go back and change what happened
- 18:21Speaker 1: with Drake versus Kendrick. He lost. I'm just keep saying
- 18:25Speaker 1: it he lost. But if Drake feel like, YO, where
- 18:29Speaker 1: were you? Squabble up? J Cole is not going to
- 18:35Speaker 1: do that because he just wanted to be liked in
- 18:38Speaker 1: a lot of ways doing those interviews. Like I said,
- 18:41Speaker 1: his album was pretty good to me. But once he
- 18:44Speaker 1: started doing all those interviews and being fake, poor and
- 18:47Speaker 1: stuff like that, his name just quickly slipped out of
- 18:53Speaker 1: the conversation. Last time he volunteered to get out of
- 18:58Speaker 1: the conversation. Now people just put him out because regardless
- 19:04Speaker 1: of what the noise is, people are going to like
- 19:10Speaker 1: this album. There's a lot of people who don't just
- 19:12Speaker 1: look at my coverings, you know, social media and all that.
- 19:18Speaker 1: But as someone who considers himself a Drake fan, I
- 19:23Speaker 1: was looking all that time between the battle. I was
- 19:26Speaker 1: looking for something that would make me like at least
- 19:30Speaker 1: a part of what he does. I like the fact
- 19:34Speaker 1: that the song with Future is called ran to Atlanta, right,
- 19:38Speaker 1: little tongue in cheek. Okay, you say I run to
- 19:40Speaker 1: Atlanta every time I need it? Okay, Well now I'm
- 19:42Speaker 1: going to run to Atlanta. I don't know if I
- 19:46Speaker 1: like the Oakland and LA and West Coast kind of
- 19:55Speaker 1: I don't know. It just feels really weird for him
- 20:00Speaker 1: him to extend the olive branch in the way he's
- 20:03Speaker 1: doing it. I don't know. Maybe it works la y'all,
- 20:06Speaker 1: y'all rocking with Drake. I don't know. I saw some
- 20:11Speaker 1: people say nah, make them remember. I like that joint
- 20:16Speaker 1: a lot. Also too hard for the radio, even though
- 20:19Speaker 1: you know you're taking shots. But whatever, man, I expected
- 20:21Speaker 1: at this point, and I like the whole like with
- 20:27Speaker 1: the intro being make them Cry, having a song make
- 20:32Speaker 1: them Pay, and then ending with make Them Know. I
- 20:36Speaker 1: think it's a I think it's a good album. I
- 20:38Speaker 1: think if if we never got the battle, and let's
- 20:43Speaker 1: just say he don't spend as much time on here
- 20:47Speaker 1: talking about people, I would say this, this would be
- 20:51Speaker 1: a good album for me. Like when for All the
- 20:54Speaker 1: Dogs dropped, most people were like nope, including me, like nope,
- 20:58Speaker 1: And I had been saying nope to Drake albums, probably
- 21:01Speaker 1: like three in a row. I was feeling like, all right,
- 21:03Speaker 1: I'm about to tap out, but please do not mistake
- 21:12Speaker 1: me liking this album for me ignoring everything he's doing
- 21:19Speaker 1: that bring that brings your right back to Kendrick's lyrics.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Feels like a colonizer. It feels like songs he's just
- 21:30Speaker 1: made a million times over. Because it is. It's just true,
- 21:38Speaker 1: it is. But the reason why I would like it
- 21:41Speaker 1: because I know with some people they like, man, I'm
- 21:43Speaker 1: good with the joints I have because if he's just
- 21:45Speaker 1: gonna keep making the same shit all the time, why
- 21:48Speaker 1: do I need to go listen to the new stuff,
- 21:51Speaker 1: let alone. How many songs is it like eighty or
- 21:55Speaker 1: forty or whatever it is? Right? I feel I treated
- 22:01Speaker 1: the same way I treat for somebody like Drake. At
- 22:04Speaker 1: least Kendrick. I wouldn't really like that, because he always
- 22:08Speaker 1: gives you a different look each album. But I feel
- 22:11Speaker 1: like with Drake, if that's his sound, you either like
- 22:17Speaker 1: it or you don't. I like Rick Ross. Rick Ross
- 22:22Speaker 1: dropped the same exact album every time, and I'm most
- 22:25Speaker 1: times I like it, if not, most of it's like
- 22:29Speaker 1: all the time, damn it, except for maybe the last one.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Currency is the same way. Currency is saying the same things,
- 22:36Speaker 1: rapping about the same things, having the same type beats
- 22:39Speaker 1: most of the time, all the time. I like it.
- 22:46Speaker 1: So it's it's more about a few, a few things,
- 22:51Speaker 1: like I'll say with this album. If you are a
- 22:55Speaker 1: Drake staying, oh my god, you are in heaven now
- 23:00Speaker 1: three different albums, they not going to listen to anything
- 23:04Speaker 1: else for the remainder of the year. If you're a
- 23:08Speaker 1: reasonable Drake fan like myself, where you like some you
- 23:11Speaker 1: don't like something, I think you might like Iceman. You know.
- 23:16Speaker 1: The only thing is I don't know if some people
- 23:20Speaker 1: can get past the constant like referring to this battle
- 23:26Speaker 1: and everything that happened two years ago, because it really
- 23:32Speaker 1: clouds this album. It's like, that's what it's about. And
- 23:38Speaker 1: if you wanted to know what, well who he disn't
- 23:40Speaker 1: I know it's Kendrick. Okay, well, let me just give
- 23:42Speaker 1: you a quick list, which was clear Cali because he's
- 23:46Speaker 1: the only one he named dropped right, jay z. He
- 23:51Speaker 1: makes references jay z Uh, definitely Kendrick, of course, j
- 23:56Speaker 1: Cole for sure. I think he did it more than once,
- 23:58Speaker 1: to be honest. Probably a couple of people thrown in there,
- 24:04Speaker 1: but not really addressed directly or even indirectly, like Rick
- 24:08Speaker 1: Ross's probably catching strays, but he's he's kind of you
- 24:12Speaker 1: can clump him up in the whole rappers who's against
- 24:15Speaker 1: me type thing. It's a lot of that in here,
- 24:21Speaker 1: but it's it put it this way. When Drake was
- 24:25Speaker 1: trying to come back from the battle before and he
- 24:28Speaker 1: would take jabs, they just weren't this good, you know
- 24:34Speaker 1: what I mean, they weren't this good. Whether I believed
- 24:36Speaker 1: him or not, they weren't this good. And every time,
- 24:39Speaker 1: you know, he would open his mouth before, I would
- 24:41Speaker 1: feel like, here he go trying to tell us something
- 24:45Speaker 1: else happened, and I think the only reason and it
- 24:48Speaker 1: happens on make them cry, Which made me open my
- 24:52Speaker 1: ears to this album a little bit more was the
- 24:55Speaker 1: fact that he showed a little bit of vulnerability in
- 24:59Speaker 1: some of the records about the battle, about how he felt,
- 25:03Speaker 1: and I felt like, that's what you should be, that's
- 25:06Speaker 1: what you should be talking about. That's what you not completely,
- 25:09Speaker 1: but you can show confidence, but that's how you should talk.
- 25:13Speaker 1: How it affected you, Where did you find yourself versus
- 25:18Speaker 1: friends and stuff like that, And he does that a
- 25:20Speaker 1: lot on hand, and I think that's the reason why
- 25:23Speaker 1: I could hear him say some nonsense about the um
- 25:27Speaker 1: G battle lawsuit situation and feel like, whatever you can
- 25:32Speaker 1: say whatever, Homie Bud, this looked like you suing for rap.
- 25:37Speaker 1: He can say whatever he wants, but you could when
- 25:40Speaker 1: you listen to this album, you know what his goal is.
- 25:44Speaker 1: His goal is to say whatever he feels, take it
- 25:48Speaker 1: or leave it, to eventually become independent and do it
- 25:55Speaker 1: in a bigger way his words right, and to established
- 26:00Speaker 1: that he hasn't lost any magic. I'm putting up air
- 26:08Speaker 1: quotes for people audio magic as far as making the
- 26:12Speaker 1: type of records he's made. So I think there's an
- 26:15Speaker 1: audience for this album just like the other ones, and
- 26:18Speaker 1: I think some people are gonna like it and some
- 26:22Speaker 1: people are gonna hate it. It's what Drake will need
- 26:27Speaker 1: to understand after this is that it's on your jacket forever,
- 26:34Speaker 1: and it's probably gonna be there forever because you sued
- 26:40Speaker 1: because I think, uh, And it's the last point I
- 26:43Speaker 1: think when it happened to jay Z. Don't listen to Tore.
- 26:49Speaker 1: He trying to revise things. Tore wasn't outside. Look at
- 26:52Speaker 1: that interview with him and Nas and jay he looked
- 26:55Speaker 1: shook to death. He looks shook to death when he
- 26:56Speaker 1: reading everybody, So don't believe his car house takes on
- 27:01Speaker 1: jay Z, Nas Nas one. We was outside everywhere, But
- 27:09Speaker 1: jay Z didn't fall off. People who liked jay Z
- 27:13Speaker 1: before the battle still liked him. They didn't choose to
- 27:17Speaker 1: say now he lost the knas I ain't messing with him.
- 27:20Speaker 1: We still messed with him. We just felt he lost
- 27:23Speaker 1: the battle. That's it. We still went to the club
- 27:26Speaker 1: when he had hits and records like that. It wasn't
- 27:29Speaker 1: about the battle. It was about being fans of the music.
- 27:33Speaker 1: So you could be a fan of jay Z and
- 27:35Speaker 1: be a fan of Nas, just like you could be
- 27:37Speaker 1: a fan of Drake and be a fan of Kendrick
- 27:40Speaker 1: if you already were. But with Unfortunately for Drake, because
- 27:48Speaker 1: he continues excessively to talk about it into some ways
- 27:54Speaker 1: contradict a lot of what actually happened in the social
- 28:00Speaker 1: media era. People just won't forget, like every time he
- 28:05Speaker 1: open his mouth, it's gonna be at least one person
- 28:07Speaker 1: who's gonna be like, hey, mine, or like it's gonna
- 28:10Speaker 1: be one person, but it's it's not gonna go await fans.
- 28:14Speaker 1: So have you heard Drake's new album, Iceman? Do you
- 28:18Speaker 1: plan to listen to it? Do you not care? Are
- 28:20Speaker 1: you consider yourself with k Biden? You like it's Kendrick
