- 0:00Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:03access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing genuine
- 0:07issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:10hypnotherapist, demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:14royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:41Hi, it's Adam here. And in this episode of The
- 0:44Hypnotist, you're going to be listening to a hypnosis session
- 0:47that was created for a client that had high levels of fatigue
- 0:52and a sense of alertness whenever they were in situations
- 0:57that could involve evaluations or potential conflict.
- 1:02And part of that came from a childhood where they were very
- 1:06vulnerable. They were living in an
- 1:10environment where parents were quite critical and they were
- 1:15studying in a boarding school where effectively there was a
- 1:18lot of bullying going on. So back.
- 1:20Then it. Made sense?
- 1:22To be very vigilant, very on guard, very on.
- 1:25Edge because by. Being vigilant in that way it
- 1:29would. Keep them safe, but they.
- 1:32Were an adult and for many, many years they were running that
- 1:37same protective program, even though they weren't in that
- 1:41vulnerable situation like they were as a child.
- 1:45And what this hypnosis session does?
- 1:47Is it uses? Elements of disassociated
- 1:52regression. It also uses a metaphor of the
- 1:57control room of the mind, but in a specific way.
- 2:00The key unconscious metaphor here is that they're running a
- 2:04program that was. Really useful.
- 2:06As a child, but not useful as an adult.
- 2:09And what it does is it updates the software but also even
- 2:13updates the control room. And there's references to things
- 2:16like AI and quantum computing to highlight that this can update
- 2:21itself and. Still.
- 2:24Have that protective ability, but only when it's really
- 2:26necessary, not in everyday situations.
- 2:31So if you're listening to this and you can feel yourself on
- 2:36edge in certain situations, if someone's trying to cajole you
- 2:42or dominate you, or in England we use the phrase take the piss
- 2:48and someone's doing that and that kind of sets you off.
- 2:51Or even if there's false positives where people don't
- 2:54have that intention but it makes you feel on edge anyway, then I
- 2:58think you'd really benefit from this.
- 3:00But it. Has a more broader metaphor, and
- 3:02that is this idea of running old software.
- 3:05So if you feel that you're still acting and thinking in similar
- 3:10ways when it was useful as a child, but you're an adult and
- 3:13you don't really need to feel that way anymore, then it will
- 3:15also have that benefit of updating this internal brain
- 3:20software. If you're.
- 3:23Interested in hypnosis and you like the kind of stuff I do on
- 3:26the podcast. There is a way of getting a lot
- 3:28of the hypnosis than I do without having to listen to it
- 3:31on the podcast. I've got lots of audio sessions
- 3:35that don't have this intro, don't have the outro in the
- 3:38description and all of that kind of stuff.
- 3:39You can just hear the hypnosis and in fact, there's 22 audio
- 3:43files just like that. So if you like listening to this
- 3:46but you don't want to hear me ramble on before the hypnosis
- 3:48sessions, check out the description and download those
- 3:5022 audio files because that would be really helpful for you
- 3:54and also gives you other free stuff as well.
- 3:57In terms of this hypnosis session though, the ideal way to
- 4:00benefit would be to ideally find a quiet, comfortable place where
- 4:04you won't be disturbed, relax and enjoy the session.
- 4:56Take a deep breath in and as you breathe in and as you breathe
- 5:10in, breathe in that resourceful feeling of calm and relaxation.
- 5:17And as you exhale, just give yourself permission to release,
- 5:26to release any feelings of tension, stress, or worries.
- 5:31That's it. Just feel your eyelids getting
- 5:33heavier and heavier and notice your breathing feeling more
- 5:40relaxed, breathing in for longer and exhaling for longer, and
- 5:49noticing that the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you
- 5:53become. And the more relaxed you become,
- 5:58the deeper you breathe. And as you breathe in, I want
- 6:06you to imagine breathing in a color that represents
- 6:10resourcefulness. And I want you to imagine a
- 6:15symbol that represents A depleted battery.
- 6:22Maybe it's a car battery or a power bank, or one of those old
- 6:27rechargeable batteries. And maybe you could imagine a
- 6:34symbol that shows how depleted the battery is, or if it's a
- 6:40power bank, the percentage level that it's currently on.
- 6:48And imagine breathing in that colour of resourcefulness,
- 6:53breathing in the resources you need and exhaling anything
- 7:00that's been draining that battery.
- 7:03Intrusive thoughts, worries and fears, insecurities.
- 7:12Just allow those things that's been draining that battery to
- 7:17leave your body in your outward breath and imagine breathing in
- 7:23that bright colour of resourcefulness, breath by
- 7:31breath. Just feel what's been draining
- 7:35the battery is leaving you, and what is recharging and
- 7:41replenishing the battery is now within you.
- 7:47That's it. Each breath making you more
- 7:51resourceful than the last. And sometimes stress and tension
- 7:59can be a drain on that battery. So imagine tension and stress
- 8:04and worries just leaving your body in your outward breath and
- 8:10breathing in those resourceful feelings.
- 8:14Energy is resource, vitality is resource.
- 8:21Optimism, confidence, self belief and worthiness all
- 8:28resources. And as you breathe in those
- 8:32resources, maybe you can see or even feel a change to that
- 8:41internal battery. Maybe you could feel it
- 8:48recharging breath by breath, each breath adding a fraction of
- 8:56a percent to those resourceful levels.
- 9:04As you continue to breathe in and breathe out, exhaling any
- 9:09drains and breathing in those resources, you'll get a sense
- 9:16that you are recharging and replenishing that battery.
- 9:23And sometimes a useful definition of stress and
- 9:27overwhelm are when demands exceed resources.
- 9:36But as you exhale those demands and you breathe in those
- 9:41resources, I want you to get a sense that you're feeling more
- 9:47capable. And the more capable and
- 9:52resourceful you feel, naturally your memory will just improve.
- 10:00Because when you feel resourceful, all of your
- 10:05cognitive functions work more efficiently.
- 10:10And memory recall is just one of those cognitive functions.
- 10:17So breathe in and breathe out, continuing to recharge that
- 10:21battery. And I wonder if you can picture
- 10:28the most elegant and ornate staircase possible.
- 10:35Maybe it's made of marble. Maybe the banister is made of
- 10:40gold. I want you to picture such an
- 10:45impressive staircase, and you're standing at the top of that
- 10:49staircase. You could make this staircase
- 10:55carpeted with soft velvet or encrusted with jewels.
- 11:03You're standing at the top of this staircase.
- 11:07The bottom of the staircase is a reception area with several
- 11:13doors, and one of these doors is a control room to your
- 11:20unconscious mind. But right now, just picture
- 11:27yourself through your own eyes standing at the top of this
- 11:32impressive staircase and very soon I will countdown from 12:50
- 11:40and with each descending number you will imagine walking down
- 11:43the staircase. Each step down the staircase
- 11:48takes you not just deeper, relaxed and more resourceful,
- 11:54but as you bridging from the conscious to the unconscious.
- 12:01And so many things that you do are unconscious.
- 12:08You don't consciously blink that often or consciously breathe
- 12:13that often. 99% of your thoughts are unconscious.
- 12:21Most of your facial expressions, your body language, your
- 12:25Physiology is all unconscious. And as you walk down the
- 12:30staircase into that control room, we are going to the very
- 12:36source that can influence those unconscious responses.
- 12:42So let's walk down that staircase. 10 first step and
- 12:47just feeling a release of tension. 9 just releasing any
- 12:55tension around your forehead, your jaw, your neck, and your
- 12:58shoulders. Another step down the staircase.
- 13:048 Focus now on any tension in the neck and the shoulders and
- 13:09just imagine that melting away. Seven, breathing in even deeper,
- 13:16that resourceful feeling and exhaling those things that's
- 13:22been draining your resources. That's it. 6 Just feeling like
- 13:29your arms, your shoulders down to your elbow all the way down
- 13:34to your fingertips are just feeling a wave of relaxation
- 13:42that it is now time to just let go.
- 13:48So imagine your arms feeling limp and loose and relaxed like
- 13:53the limbs of a puppet with no strings.
- 13:57That's it, Deeper and deeper relaxed.
- 14:03That's it. And the six times to five.
- 14:07Now focus on your internal organs.
- 14:12Imagine your heart relaxing, your stomach relaxing.
- 14:18Imagine even your intestines start to relax, your lungs
- 14:23relax. You are breathing deeper and
- 14:25more effortlessly as five times to four.
- 14:29Now just hone in on the lower abdomen.
- 14:34Just imagine anything connected with your intestines is
- 14:39relaxing, as some people call the gut, the second brain, the
- 14:46intuitive brain. And as you release any tension
- 14:51there, you are empowering your intuition.
- 15:00You can consider your brain like the CPU of a computer, that
- 15:07processor. You can think of your memory
- 15:11like a hard drive, but I want you to think of your gut.
- 15:17There's a combination between AI and the RAM, your capacity to
- 15:24cope with things. That's it.
- 15:28Just feel that being empowered. Think of that colour of
- 15:32resourcefulness going deep into the gut and as four turns to
- 15:38three. Now focus on your legs,
- 15:39continuing to walk down that impressive ornate staircase,
- 15:45legs feeling limp, loose and relaxed, more and more
- 15:50comfortable down into your calf muscles and then even your toes
- 15:59as two turns to one. Feel a ripple of relaxation from
- 16:02your toes rising up your body to your forehead, the top of your
- 16:07head, and then back down your arms to the tips of your fingers
- 16:12as you take the final step off the staircase.
- 16:17And as you look up, I want you to see that wide awake conscious
- 16:21version of you still standing at the top of the staircase.
- 16:27Your unconscious is at the bottom of the staircase.
- 16:30And that unconscious part walks towards a door.
- 16:35And this door will access a control room that would have
- 16:42looked futuristic from your childhood.
- 16:46Not in days and modern times, but from your childhood.
- 16:55Things like dials and gauges or basic graphics on a screen.
- 17:03But that's just what's behind the door.
- 17:04Let me countdown from 5 to 1 and you will imagine opening the
- 17:07door and accessing that old fashioned control room. 5,
- 17:15putting your hand on the handle. 4 turning the handle, 3 opening
- 17:22the door of that control room, 2 walking into the control room,
- 17:28and one closing the control room.
- 17:33You're now inside, The door is closed, and that conscious part
- 17:38is all the way up there at the top of the staircase.
- 17:43Your unconscious is in the control room, and I want you to
- 17:47see a control room that would have looked modern, perhaps in
- 17:53the late 80s or the 90s. Maybe you can see old fashioned
- 18:02computer monitors, dials and switches and faders.
- 18:13And if you could imagine being in that control room, let me
- 18:16know by nodding your head. That's it.
- 18:21And I want you to see a large monitor that would have looked
- 18:23modern back in your childhood. And I want you to see yourself
- 18:31had a child in a vulnerable situation.
- 18:38I want you to see yourself back then, and I want you to think
- 18:45back then as a child. You need it to create a
- 18:52strategy, software, ways of thinking to deal with being in a
- 18:59vulnerable situation. And if your unconscious mind
- 19:05believes that what you created then was indeed useful to
- 19:12survive a difficult time, let me know by nodding your head.
- 19:17And I want you to thank that part on the screen for being so
- 19:22intelligent, industrious and pragmatic.
- 19:28You identified a problem and you created ways of thinking to deal
- 19:34with that problem. So thank that part.
- 19:40What it did back then was gave you an advantage, an edge or
- 19:49just an ability to cope. And back then extra adrenaline,
- 19:57the ability to second guess motives, the ability to read
- 20:03even subtle cues and expressions was helpful.
- 20:08So thank that part, But I want you to get a sense.
- 20:16But just because something was useful at one point in time
- 20:22doesn't mean they're useful now. Maybe as a child you used to use
- 20:3060 or 90 minute cassettes to record songs of the radio, but
- 20:37you don't use those cassettes anymore.
- 20:41There was a time when you would save files onto floppy disks,
- 20:47but you don't do that anymore. And there was a time when you
- 20:55had to access the Internet or load software in a slow, noisy
- 21:04way. And you don't do that anymore.
- 21:11And I want you to see the clothes you used to wear as a
- 21:14child. And you don't wear those clothes
- 21:18anymore. And if you're unconscious,
- 21:23except that something can be incredibly useful at one point
- 21:28in time and yet become useless or redundant at a different
- 21:34time, let me know by nodding your head.
- 21:37That's it. But thank that part for creating
- 21:44what was needed exactly when it was needed.
- 21:50But I want you to telepathically stream that younger version of
- 21:55you on that screen. All of your frustrations with
- 21:59fatigue, the lack of sleep, the second guessing, the mental
- 22:05replays stream, all of that to that younger version of you that
- 22:11had no idea that you would continue to use that coping
- 22:17strategy all the way into adulthood.
- 22:25And maybe that younger version of you is sad because the
- 22:31intention was to be useful and pragmatic and helpful, not to
- 22:37curse you with something that would deprive you of sleep and
- 22:42energy. And I want you to imagine
- 22:47knowing what you now know, what new ways of handling situations
- 22:54would also keep you safe but reduce the resources needed.
- 23:05And I want you to imagine seeing different dials and gauges,
- 23:10buttons and switches. I want you to get a sense.
- 23:16Then all of that vigilance and second guessing was useful at
- 23:24one time, but now you can dial that all the way down.
- 23:33And that element of looking for clues of malicious intentions,
- 23:41people abusing power dynamics was helpful, but now less
- 23:47helpful. So you can dial that down, all
- 23:51the way down. And I want you to increase the
- 23:55dial of discernment. There will be situations that
- 24:01people are looking to humiliate you, will dominate you, but
- 24:12these are rare occasions. So as you dial down the
- 24:18vigilance, as you dial down that protective shell, increase the
- 24:26discernment, increase your ability to differentiate between
- 24:35when is a safe, relaxed situation and when is one of
- 24:41those vulnerable situations. Because if you are in a context
- 24:49or environment where your physical or emotional safety is
- 24:57being threatened, isn't it useful to have this software
- 25:02running? Just an updated version of it?
- 25:08And if your unconscious agrees, let me know by nodding your
- 25:11head. That's it.
- 25:14And I want you to think of the computer you use or the phone
- 25:22you use, and just imagine having it filled with software running
- 25:30that you were never using, software or applications.
- 25:34Wouldn't that drain the processing power, use up all of
- 25:39that RAM? Wouldn't the ideal thing to do
- 25:44to get more energy and utility from that computer or phone be
- 25:50to just close down the software and applications that you're not
- 25:55using anymore, knowing that you can always reopen them whenever
- 26:00you want? And I want you to imagine seeing
- 26:04a screen showing all of these applications running.
- 26:10Unconscious applications, second guessing, vigilance, paranoia.
- 26:17These are all software running and using your energy, but you
- 26:21need that energy. So just imagine closing down all
- 26:26of those applications and when they're all closed down, only
- 26:35open one right now, mindfulness being here in the present,
- 26:43listening to my voice, and when all of those applications are
- 26:48closed and just mindfulness is running, let me know by nodding
- 26:52your head. That's it.
- 26:54And then imagine in this mindful state, it occurs to you.
- 27:02You've been running old software in an old control room.
- 27:10You don't allow a few months to go by without updating the
- 27:15operating system on your computer to get the latest
- 27:19version on your phone and it dawns on you you're running out
- 27:24of date software. So just imagine navigating this
- 27:31old fashioned control panel and looking for what is called an
- 27:36update. This will update not just the
- 27:42unconscious programs you're running, but also the control
- 27:48room. We will turn this old fashioned
- 27:51control room into something futuristic, powered by the
- 27:57latest artificial intelligence and quantum computers.
- 28:01So press that update button and start to feel that old software
- 28:07is being deleted, software that you're using is being updated,
- 28:14and new software is being installed based on all of your
- 28:18wisdom, all of your experiences, and in particular your intuitive
- 28:24ability to know what would really help.
- 28:28Maybe it's more playfulness, more curiosity, that ability to
- 28:34be unfazed, unflappable. They're all software for your
- 28:38mind. And at the point where the
- 28:42update has happened, don't be surprised if you see that old
- 28:48monitor turning into state-of-the-art 8K screen.
- 28:56The old machines are now the latest technology and at the
- 29:01very heart is now a quantum computer.
- 29:09And I want you to feel, feel the updates happening in your body
- 29:14as you feel more resourceful than ever before with access to
- 29:19new ways of thinking and the intuitive ability to change.
- 29:29To change and let go of what isn't working.
- 29:32And to embrace new ways of thinking and evaluating to give
- 29:37you more energy, clarity, more sense of activating you at your
- 29:45most resourceful. And when the update is finished,
- 29:50let me know by nodding your head.
- 29:55That's it. But now I want you to see that
- 30:00childlike version of you on the screen being replaced by a
- 30:04future version of you, perhaps a week from now, a month from now,
- 30:09a year from now. And just see that version of you
- 30:17perhaps being told that they've done something wrong and see
- 30:25that future version of you brushing it off like nothing or
- 30:29just learning from it or being curious or playful.
- 30:34I want you to see that version of you sleeping so much better,
- 30:40recalling key, fax and information easier than ever
- 30:44before. You know what it's like when
- 30:48you've had an old computer and you get a new one.
- 30:51Everything happens faster. You get the information you're
- 30:56looking for quicker. Things that used to be a drain
- 31:02now become a joy. And if you can see that future
- 31:06version of you handling things differently because you are more
- 31:12resourceful and you've let go of some of those old demands that
- 31:17were true as a child but not as an adult, let me know by nodding
- 31:21your head. That's it.
- 31:24And then step into the screen and feel what that would feel
- 31:29like to be sleeping well, to not have the intrusive thoughts in
- 31:38the way that you had, to be more optimistic, to have this deep
- 31:45belief nobody's out to get here. They're just doing their thing,
- 31:51running their programs, and you're running yours.
- 31:55You let go of the need to take things so personal, to give more
- 32:00of the benefit of the doubt, and to only activate that vigilance
- 32:06in the rare occasions it's actually useful, which is hardly
- 32:13ever at all. And if this feels like you could
- 32:18sleep better and have more energy, let me know about
- 32:23nodding your head and just leave the screen and then just see a
- 32:29futuristic dashboard which now shows your energy levels, that
- 32:34all that breathing of those resources has now replenished
- 32:40your energy levels. And just get a sense of how good
- 32:45that would feel. That's it.
- 32:53So you leave this control room feeling invigorated, allowing
- 33:02the AI in the quantum computer to make automatic updates as
- 33:06necessary to give you the feeling.
- 33:09Then anytime something happens that was less than optimal, you
- 33:16will replay it in a way to teach the AI how to handle similar
- 33:21situations much more better and usefully and pragmatically than
- 33:26before. You will become more and more
- 33:30resourceful because everything you do is either a win or a
- 33:34learn. So imagine leaving that control
- 33:38room, climbing up the stairs, stepping into that version of
- 33:45you, the conscious part, and then realizing you have a
- 33:51choice. The choice when I count from one
- 33:55to 10 is either to awaken or to find a bedroom in this
- 34:00impressive place that enables you to have a deep sleep.
- 34:08If it's time to awaken, 10 will make you awake, and if it's time
- 34:13to sleep, the number 10 will help you sleep, starting to
- 34:17count 12345678910. The.
- 39:59The. The.
- 57:03The. The.
- 1:06:01Yeah. The.
- 1:16:22The. The.
- 1:19:33The. The.
