- 0:00Speaker 1: It's fast paced, it's entertaining, and it's easy. Cleaning out
- 0:03Speaker 1: sound fridge on one more thing, I'm.
- 0:08Speaker 2: One more thing.
- 0:10Speaker 3: We haven't done this in a long time, which isn't
- 0:12Speaker 3: like us because it is easy. It requires nothing of me,
- 0:16Speaker 3: which is my favorite thing to be.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Required, and I enjoy it. You know.
- 0:20Speaker 3: It's when we got leftover sound clips from the show.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Yeah, the the everybody works on the show busts their
- 0:27Speaker 1: butt to bring all this entertaining stuff to the to
- 0:31Speaker 1: the fridge, and then we can't.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Use it all. So let's use it now. What do
- 0:34Speaker 2: you want to start now?
- 0:36Speaker 3: Sorry, cleaning sound of fridge. Who came up with that
- 0:41Speaker 3: idea sound Fridge team effort?
- 0:46Speaker 2: I think I think I did, but I don't know.
- 0:51Speaker 3: God. I went to eat some yogurt last night and
- 0:53Speaker 3: opened up the container. Good lord, how long have that
- 0:57Speaker 3: been there?
- 0:58Speaker 1: When that goes, that goes fast, smell punches.
- 1:05Speaker 2: So gross?
- 1:06Speaker 1: Is everybody gagging right now? Everybody hearing this is gagging
- 1:10Speaker 1: right now?
- 1:10Speaker 3: An are you happy?
- 1:13Speaker 2: Oh you are? Yes?
- 1:15Speaker 3: That's aren't you healthy? You eat yogurt instead of donuts?
- 1:19Speaker 3: You win? And homemade protein granola?
- 1:22Speaker 1: So wow?
- 1:24Speaker 3: I did? I went there yep.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Wow, protein granola. What's Yeah.
- 1:29Speaker 4: It has all of your usual granola stuff sands, the
- 1:33Speaker 4: sugar and peanut butter, protein powder and vanilla protein powder,
- 1:39Speaker 4: and when you mix it with honey and a little
- 1:41Speaker 4: bit of olive oil and put it in the oven,
- 1:42Speaker 4: the protein powder just kind of turns into a nice
- 1:45Speaker 4: crisp and you know it taste.
- 1:46Speaker 2: It at all? Can I get that recipe? Absolutely sounds fantastic. Yeah.
- 1:52Speaker 3: I'm fighting the urge to eat donuts on the way
- 1:54Speaker 3: home today because the scale has been really good to
- 1:56Speaker 3: me lately, like as a reward, which is obviously the
- 1:58Speaker 3: wrong way to open it.
- 1:59Speaker 2: You could I fit two or three and.
- 2:03Speaker 1: It's like it's like buying a bottle of vodka to
- 2:05Speaker 1: celebrate sobriety.
- 2:06Speaker 2: But whatever.
- 2:09Speaker 1: All right, well, let's get to clean out sound fridge.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Do you want to set up thirteen the John Stuart thing?
- 2:14Speaker 2: Jack or Wow?
- 2:16Speaker 3: So he did a long, like fifteen minute rant about
- 2:18Speaker 3: AI that I thought was pretty darn funny, But this
- 2:20Speaker 3: part was not really the sort of thing we should
- 2:23Speaker 3: have on the radio. Yeah, this is John Stewart from
- 2:26Speaker 3: the Daily Show.
- 2:27Speaker 5: And as AI gets better and better, it's only going
- 2:30Speaker 5: to make it more difficult to separate fact from fiction,
- 2:32Speaker 5: which could be terrifying. Luckily, the people in charge of
- 2:36Speaker 5: AI have told us that just like with the Internet
- 2:39Speaker 5: and social media, it's actually going to make everything much
- 2:43Speaker 5: much better.
- 2:44Speaker 2: This has the potential to make life much better.
- 2:46Speaker 3: I think it's honestly a lay up.
- 2:47Speaker 2: I hate to sound like utopic techbro here, but the
- 2:50Speaker 2: increase in quality of life that AI can deliver is extraordinary.
- 2:55Speaker 3: AI is the most profound technology humanity is working on,
- 3:00Speaker 3: more profound than fire or electricity.
- 3:03Speaker 5: Yeah, sucking fire, that's right, you are me.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Your arty fire. I'm sorry, ready to turn that up.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Suck a mother fire.
- 3:24Speaker 5: Whoa what are you giggling out?
- 3:27Speaker 2: Electricity?
- 3:33Speaker 3: Sandr Patai or whatever from Google saying it as gonna
- 3:37Speaker 3: be a bigger deal than a than fire electricity, which
- 3:40Speaker 3: is just mind blowing to me. And that was Sam
- 3:42Speaker 3: Altman saying in there. You know, I hate to sound
- 3:44Speaker 3: like tech bro, but it's just gonna make everybody's life
- 3:47Speaker 3: so wonderful and much better. I know a lot of
- 3:51Speaker 3: that crowd believes it because they think we're gonna sit
- 3:54Speaker 3: around and write poetry and and and and create art
- 3:58Speaker 3: when we don't have jobs. I think we're all going
- 4:01Speaker 3: to go crazy and kill each other or ourselves. So
- 4:04Speaker 3: we have different views of how this is going to
- 4:06Speaker 3: turn out.
- 4:06Speaker 1: How do you like this? One just popped into my
- 4:08Speaker 1: head as we were listening to that. AI is to
- 4:11Speaker 1: humanity what a five hundred million dollar lottery win is
- 4:16Speaker 1: to an individual.
- 4:17Speaker 3: It absolutely is. That is exactly right, that's perfect, and some.
- 4:22Speaker 1: People's great, but we can't handle it. But ninety five
- 4:25Speaker 1: percent of people can't handle it right.
- 4:29Speaker 3: It might even be higher than that, because the entire
- 4:34Speaker 3: reason for being isn't like spending money winning the lottery,
- 4:38Speaker 3: so like striving to support yourself and your family is
- 4:41Speaker 3: your entire existence.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Taking that away on a very fundamental anthropological level, that's
- 4:47Speaker 1: what we're made to do. Sure, now you can call
- 4:50Speaker 1: that God's will or evolution or whatever, but no, that's
- 4:53Speaker 1: that's that's all of your chromosomes, your entire genetic makeup,
- 4:57Speaker 1: the way your brain works.
- 4:58Speaker 2: It's all to accomplish thing.
- 5:01Speaker 3: And raising a family. What did your dad do? He
- 5:03Speaker 3: wrote poems and learned to play good car because he
- 5:05Speaker 3: never had a job.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Nobody wanted to hear him, nobody bought the music or
- 5:12Speaker 1: listen to No, he just did it.
- 5:14Speaker 6: It's very simple. Every human being has to have a
- 5:16Speaker 6: purpose in life.
- 5:17Speaker 3: Yeah, man, what's your purpose? Well, people like Sam Altman
- 5:20Speaker 3: actually believe your purpose can be just in joeing the
- 5:24Speaker 3: arts or playing frisbee in the park. But that's just
- 5:27Speaker 3: you're wrong, man, You're just wrong.
- 5:28Speaker 4: Look at the pandemic take away everybody's purpose for a while,
- 5:32Speaker 4: and alcohol abuse went up, suicide went up, I mean,
- 5:36Speaker 4: horse went up. Yeah, I don't know this, Sam Altman. Guy,
- 5:39Speaker 4: I don't mean to sound like a tech bro. Followed
- 5:41Speaker 4: by the most tech bro thing I've ever heard.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Yeah, no kidding, very good point.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Yeah, no, no joke. And then Jack you mentioned. Ask
- 5:50Speaker 1: anybody who's retired about suddenly not having that purpose in
- 5:54Speaker 1: their lives, and how virtually everybody finds that jarring. Some
- 5:59Speaker 1: people had just to it beautifully and enjoy themselves very much.
- 6:02Speaker 1: I know some guys like that in gals too, but
- 6:06Speaker 1: some do not, and some find it devastating.
- 6:09Speaker 2: And it's over.
- 6:12Speaker 3: If it's an adjustment when you're in your sixties and
- 6:15Speaker 3: you've worked your whole life, how about if it just
- 6:18Speaker 3: comes upon you for your whole life, right exactly, You're tired,
- 6:22Speaker 3: you've got plenty of money, you're sick of everybody at work,
- 6:24Speaker 3: you hate what you do, it's time to stop.
- 6:26Speaker 2: And even then it's jarring. But yeah, exactly, you're.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Thirty one years old and you're you're looking at another,
- 6:33Speaker 1: you know, sixty years of doing little to nothing.
- 6:37Speaker 3: What kind of people is that going to create?
- 6:39Speaker 2: Too? Oh?
- 6:40Speaker 4: I mean a whole generation of people that haven't had
- 6:42Speaker 4: to have a daily purpose.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Right, and then think of mating, which, uh a lot
- 6:48Speaker 3: of it is built around. I mean just women having
- 6:52Speaker 3: the desire to find a man that can be a
- 6:55Speaker 3: supporter of a family. I mean that's just where we're
- 6:57Speaker 3: built psychologically, It's in our genes. So now you're gonna
- 7:00Speaker 3: be you're gonna be what are you gonna be looking
- 7:03Speaker 3: for in a guy?
- 7:06Speaker 2: A poet?
- 7:08Speaker 1: I don't I don't know. What's interesting to me though,
- 7:13Speaker 1: is that to sort this out evolutionarily would take twenty
- 7:23Speaker 1: thousand years, oh at least, and it's gonna come upon
- 7:27Speaker 1: us in like a month.
- 7:28Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly exactly. John Stewart says, I had a point,
- 7:32Speaker 3: and this is all gonna happen next Thursday.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Yeah, right right, Well, it's funny every time we get
- 7:37Speaker 1: on this topic. It's it's difficult to stop, but I
- 7:40Speaker 1: am going to whistle it and let's let's move on.
- 7:45Speaker 1: This is Chris Wallace talking to Larry David.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Thirty Michael. The over under is half a billion dollars. No,
- 7:57Speaker 2: we're not doing a spit take here. By the way,
- 8:00Speaker 2: I'm not.
- 8:00Speaker 1: A water I'm sorry. Can you stop that? That's it's
- 8:03Speaker 1: this is the thing. This is an ongoing issue behind
- 8:07Speaker 1: the scenes and the Armstrong and Getty show.
- 8:09Speaker 3: All right, here we go. I don't know what's about
- 8:11Speaker 3: to happen, but something is.
- 8:14Speaker 1: I Joe Getty behind the scenes now regularly advocate leave
- 8:19Speaker 1: the question in go ahead that that well, Q and
- 8:26Speaker 1: A unless there's a reason not to.
- 8:30Speaker 3: I am responsible for this one. Uh that clip.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Explain yourself, woman, I'm working on it.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Shut up, I will good lord.
- 8:40Speaker 3: Can we not have gendered language?
- 8:42Speaker 2: Please stop?
- 8:45Speaker 6: Uh.
- 8:46Speaker 4: So, from all the clips that I saw looking for this,
- 8:49Speaker 4: it started there and he just kind of went, sow
- 8:52Speaker 4: your net worth and so that's the first thing that
- 8:54Speaker 4: you're hearing.
- 8:55Speaker 3: If you would listen to the clip, oh yeah.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, just listen to the freaking beginning and beginning
- 9:02Speaker 1: of it.
- 9:03Speaker 3: They're on the topic of the networth. Let's hear the
- 9:04Speaker 3: dame thing.
- 9:05Speaker 2: The over under is half a billion dollars. No, we're
- 9:09Speaker 2: not doing a spit take here. By the way, I'm
- 9:12Speaker 2: out of water. Okay, I'm out. I think you're avoiding
- 9:16Speaker 2: the question. Avoided the question. I'm going to say, over
- 9:19Speaker 2: a billion dollars to your father, none of your how
- 9:24Speaker 2: about that?
- 9:25Speaker 3: And that's ridiculous, that's ridiculous.
- 9:27Speaker 2: But what you just said billion, that number is so preposterous. Okay, ridiculous.
- 9:34Speaker 2: How about one hundred million dollars? Okay, how about you
- 9:36Speaker 2: shut up? Okay, how about you shut up?
- 9:40Speaker 1: Is that I got to say, you know, one hundred interviews,
- 9:43Speaker 1: nobody's okay, your shut up?
- 9:45Speaker 2: Okay.
- 9:47Speaker 3: I've read a little bit about this. I didn't see
- 9:49Speaker 3: the interview. But so, Jerry Seinfeld is almost a billionaire now,
- 9:56Speaker 3: a billionaire off of his comedy because they each he
- 9:59Speaker 3: and Larry David getz so much money in the residuals
- 10:01Speaker 3: from Seinfeld back in the day. The diffence with the
- 10:03Speaker 3: Larry David being is that he got a divorce and
- 10:06Speaker 3: he lives in California, So that's probably why he was
- 10:10Speaker 3: reacting to that number with the spit tak Yeah whatever.
- 10:15Speaker 4: Hmmm yeah, Seinfeld's worth more than a billion as of
- 10:19Speaker 4: the released last month.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Yeah wow oof.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Interesting how that show is brilliant as it was, just
- 10:29Speaker 1: doesn't hold up.
- 10:30Speaker 3: No, no, no, no. My Friends was on TV the
- 10:33Speaker 3: other night in the hotel room and my son and
- 10:35Speaker 3: I watch a little bit Love It funny could sit
- 10:38Speaker 3: there and watch Friends episodes. I have no desire to
- 10:40Speaker 3: watch an episode of Seinfeld, and if they come on,
- 10:42Speaker 3: I'm like eah, And which is weird?
- 10:44Speaker 1: Which is not to say it was not worse art
- 10:47Speaker 1: or anything like that. It's just you know, different art
- 10:50Speaker 1: indoors in different ways.
- 10:52Speaker 3: Yeah, no doubt.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Let's see, does thirty four need any setup?
- 10:57Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 10:57Speaker 2: I pulled this one. Let me explain it.
- 11:00Speaker 6: This is a woman that got caught stealing from Walmart.
- 11:02Speaker 6: She has a full cart of a different good so
- 11:05Speaker 6: that she's stolen, and a cop has come to arrest
- 11:08Speaker 6: her along with the Walmart manager, and she hasn't this
- 11:11Speaker 6: interaction with him.
- 11:14Speaker 4: We're doing an investigation right now.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Apparently somebody walked out with a.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Car put it in a random car.
- 11:18Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, that was me. Okay, would you come over
- 11:20Speaker 3: by a car with us.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Whose car is it?
- 11:21Speaker 4: I don't know you neither, So where's all your stuff
- 11:23Speaker 4: you took out of the store?
- 11:24Speaker 2: And I just put it?
- 11:25Speaker 5: I put it in a random car that was open.
- 11:27Speaker 3: In a random car that was open for what because.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Y'all are coming and I just ran up to the car.
- 11:31Speaker 3: It's a payment of replay. It's called twenty one.
- 11:32Speaker 2: It's basically you go and steal all the fo and
- 11:34Speaker 2: you get out without getting caught.
- 11:35Speaker 3: Well, I did it one other time in this time,
- 11:37Speaker 3: but I got caught in this time.
- 11:38Speaker 5: So now I gotta figure out where my purses and
- 11:40Speaker 5: ruin my merchandise is because now I got to give all.
- 11:43Speaker 4: The merchandise back to Walmart. Well, it's not really game.
- 11:46Speaker 3: Yeah, it is a it's tough to you.
- 11:50Speaker 2: It's fun too, it's really fun. Oh going to jokes bar.
- 11:54Speaker 3: It's not really a game. It's theft. So is that
- 11:56Speaker 3: a BS? I can say?
- 11:58Speaker 2: Bullshit?
- 11:58Speaker 3: It's the podcast. Was that a bullshit story about it
- 12:01Speaker 3: being a game and she was actually just stealing? Or
- 12:03Speaker 3: is it that she was just stealing? Okay, it's called
- 12:06Speaker 3: twenty one. You put twenty on items in your cart
- 12:08Speaker 3: and see if you can get out the door, and
- 12:09Speaker 3: then if you do get out of the door, you
- 12:11Speaker 3: just keep them.
- 12:11Speaker 2: That's called stealing. Why'd you put it in that car?
- 12:14Speaker 2: Because I got caught?
- 12:17Speaker 1: Do you understand the Miranda warning and why it exists?
- 12:21Speaker 1: Of course that person is too damn stupid to walk
- 12:24Speaker 1: the streets anyway.
- 12:25Speaker 3: So, uh so this happened to me yesterday. I need
- 12:29Speaker 3: to buy uh something at the convenience door and it
- 12:34Speaker 3: was like a ten dollar item, and I had a
- 12:37Speaker 3: lot on my mind, and I just walked out the
- 12:40Speaker 3: door with it. I got and I almost got to
- 12:44Speaker 3: my truck and thought, geez, I didn't pay for this,
- 12:46Speaker 3: And I had like a feeling of panic that I'd
- 12:48Speaker 3: walked out the door with an item I hadn't paid for.
- 12:50Speaker 3: So back into the circle can, I said, oh, geez,
- 12:53Speaker 3: I walked out the door without paying for this? She
- 12:55Speaker 3: said whatever I said?
- 12:57Speaker 2: Uh?
- 12:58Speaker 3: I said, well, I didn't do it on purpose. She said,
- 13:00Speaker 3: I'm not going to stop you. I said, you wouldn't.
- 13:02Speaker 3: You're not going to stop me? She said, yeah, I'm
- 13:04Speaker 3: not allowed to stop you. Besides, I don't get paid enough.
- 13:07Speaker 3: I said, do other people walk out.
- 13:08Speaker 2: The door stuff?
- 13:09Speaker 3: She said, every day? There you go, So she saw
- 13:12Speaker 3: me walk out door. She wasn't even going to say anything,
- 13:14Speaker 3: let alone actually physically stopped me.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a California and that surge of adrenaline fear
- 13:20Speaker 1: was completely unwarranted. Well, I findently stole something.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Well mine was a more morality based, but I'm I'm
- 13:29Speaker 3: so with you.
- 13:30Speaker 4: I drove home for thirty minutes from a target with
- 13:33Speaker 4: a pair of sunglasses on my head that I didn't pay.
- 13:35Speaker 3: For, and I went I went back. Oh.
- 13:37Speaker 4: Now, when I told the girl I just drove back
- 13:39Speaker 4: from here, she went, are you serious, Like you really
- 13:43Speaker 4: came back to pay for this?
- 13:44Speaker 3: I'm like yes, because I believe in karma. She is
- 13:47Speaker 3: very real.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Isn't that something that you were the outlier? You were
- 13:52Speaker 1: the person they were thinking.
- 13:53Speaker 2: What were you thinking?
- 13:55Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, she looked like she looked at me like
- 13:57Speaker 3: I had three heads. Yeah.
- 14:00Speaker 2: A couple.
- 14:03Speaker 1: A couple of times in my life as an absent
- 14:05Speaker 1: minded guy, I have been looking at the ground thinking
- 14:09Speaker 1: whatever and walked into the women's bathroom. That is a
- 14:13Speaker 1: really bad feeling when you look around.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Where the hell are the urinals?
- 14:16Speaker 1: That's funny that she's oh my god, and then you
- 14:20Speaker 1: just pray no one walks in and start screaming.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Of course these days you just say transgender.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Well, no, if I had short hair and a beard.
- 14:30Speaker 4: If I was in the bathroom and you walked in
- 14:33Speaker 4: and I freaked out and told you to get out,
- 14:35Speaker 4: in today's day and age, I would be the bad
- 14:37Speaker 4: guy because I wasn't accepting of the man with the
- 14:39Speaker 4: beard walking into the women's restroom.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Right, I'd go viral for telling you to get out.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Some birthing person started screaming at me. It was humiliating, Yes.
- 14:50Speaker 2: I eactly.
- 14:51Speaker 3: I had a brief moment of thinking, maybe I'll just
- 14:54Speaker 3: hang on to it and drive off just for the
- 14:55Speaker 3: story of this is how easy it is to steal,
- 14:57Speaker 3: but dying wasn't going to do that.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's pretty well established anyway.
- 15:01Speaker 3: It's easy too, Yeah, exactly, it's easy to forget. I
- 15:04Speaker 3: was once trying on this rollox and I said, look,
- 15:06Speaker 3: there's a fire, and I walked out the door when
- 15:08Speaker 3: they were looking at the supposed fire.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Oh, I forgot.
- 15:11Speaker 4: That's actually an online thing right now, where people are
- 15:14Speaker 4: going into shoe stores and trying on a really expensive
- 15:16Speaker 4: pair of sneakers and then they sprint as hard as
- 15:19Speaker 4: they can out the front door and stop about fifty
- 15:23Speaker 4: feet past the door, jump, turn around and sprint back
- 15:25Speaker 4: in and just watch the employees lose their mind.
- 15:27Speaker 3: Personally, what the yeah?
- 15:31Speaker 2: The online challenge funny til someone gets shot?
- 15:34Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Wow, I can't believe this.
- 15:39Speaker 6: I just you know, just two people that stole something
- 15:43Speaker 6: went back and they said, don't worry about it. I'm senior, dumbfounded,
- 15:47Speaker 6: I know.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Well, I guess that's it.
