- 2:43And now, ladies and gentlemen, we have to get into some
- 2:46baseball conversation as a yeah, a little MLB conversation.
- 2:52Two teams that are on the verge of a historic collapse this
- 2:58baseball season are the Detroit Tigers and New York Mets, who
- 3:02are now barely holding on to two final playoff spots in their
- 3:07leagues after the Guardians beat the Tigers yesterday.
- 3:10And the Guardians and the Tigers are now tied in the American
- 3:14League Central, with the Guardians holding the tiebreaker
- 3:18if they finish the season with the same record.
- 3:21The Guardians have gone 9 and one in their last 10 games,
- 3:25while the Tigers have gone 1 and 9 in their last 10 games.
- 3:29The Guardians trail the Tigers by 8 1/2 games just 13 days ago,
- 3:35and now we're down as many as 15.5 games in July.
- 3:42The Mets have collapsed in similar fashion, going 5 and 11
- 3:47in their last 16 games. The Mets had the best record in
- 3:51baseball on June 12th at 45 and 24, but since then they are tied
- 3:58with the White Sox for the 4th worst record in baseball at 35
- 4:04and 52. The Mets are currently one game
- 4:08ahead of the Diamondbacks and the Reds for the last playoff
- 4:12spot, but don't have a tiebreaker game.
- 4:16Well, why is this popping up? I don't know why that popped up.
- 4:19What the hell is going on here and I'm sorry.
- 4:22And the Mets currently have a one game ahead of the
- 4:24Diamondbacks and Reds for the last playoff spot, but don't
- 4:27have the tiebreaker against either of those teams.
- 4:32If the Mets miss the playoffs, they would be the third team in
- 4:36MLB history to finish the playoffs after being 21 games
- 4:42over 500. Let's go to the vets first.
- 4:45This is an absolute collapse. I don't want to hear about Juan
- 4:49Soto. Yes, the one and only Juan Soto
- 4:52everybody loves, which I don't, by the way.
- 4:54Juan Soto is a bitch, as we all said in the beginning of the
- 4:57season. I've said he's a bitch.
- 4:58Crybaby antics about the damn All Star game.
- 5:01He's having a sensational year. A year that we have not seen an
- 5:04MLB player in New York ever have, and he could end up the
- 5:08season with fifty home runs and forty stolen bases.
- 5:11Who the F cares if the Mets don't make the playoffs and they
- 5:15fall short? This is a guy Steve Cohen had
- 5:17spent a lot of money. They paid him $768 million in
- 5:21the offseason. And this is a pitching staff
- 5:23with some of the youth and young talent that they have and
- 5:26McClain and Tong and all the guys that they've brought up.
- 5:29They have a future. But this pitching staff has been
- 5:32one of the worst in the league. And we've said this over and
- 5:35over and over again. The Mets should have went after
- 5:37pitch pitching, not hitting in the offseason.
- 5:39They are no problems in the playoffs hitting the ball.
- 5:42Vientos was one of the best hitters in the playoffs and
- 5:45Lindor did the things that he needed to do in the playoffs,
- 5:47beat Alonzo, hit that big home run, three run home run against
- 5:51the Brewers to knock them out of the playoffs.
- 5:53The offense wasn't the problem last year, it was their
- 5:56pitching. And again, going back to what
- 5:58the Mets did in the offseason, David Stearns and what everybody
- 6:02thought he did in the offseason was sensational bringing in a
- 6:05Juan Soto. Juan Soto again is having a
- 6:08memorable year and and his one of his best years.
- 6:11If not, he's best year as a professional athlete.
- 6:13It doesn't matter. The Mets could be looking at a
- 6:16new manager in the offseason. The manager choking the way he
- 6:19has. I I mean, I don't know if the
- 6:22Mets are going to go that far, but this is a team that has not
- 6:25been very, very good really since the All Star break.
- 6:28They're the, if you're getting compared to the White Sox,
- 6:31there's a problem. The White Sox have been one of
- 6:33the worst organizations in professional baseball since Ozzy
- 6:37Guillen. Yes, you heard it.
- 6:38Ozzy Guillen. Remember him?
- 6:40I I mean, Tony La Rooster took over this team.
- 6:43Is he there? Is he actually coaching that
- 6:45team and managing that team anymore?
- 6:46No, it's a bunch of choke artist and the White Sox are a bad
- 6:50organization when you're being compared to them, there's a
- 6:53problem. And then there's the Detroit
- 6:56Tigers. This has been a good team all
- 6:58season long. And then the story broke
- 7:01recently about these executives and, and, and some of the
- 7:05broadcasters being involved with these sexual, you know, antics
- 7:11off scene of baseball. I mean, Detroit and the Tigers,
- 7:15you would have expected them to make a a real big run.
- 7:19I thought they had everything. They have one of the best
- 7:22pitchers in baseball. You can argue he is the best
- 7:24pitcher in baseball. You have a young lineup as good
- 7:27as they have been all season. You had five players, five
- 7:31players make the All Star team this year on this Detroit Tigers
- 7:35team. They were unstoppable.
- 7:37I mean, Gleyber Torres look like he was going to get paid a lot
- 7:40of money in the offseason and then it's completely falling off
- 7:43in the second-half, especially in the last, I would say 20
- 7:46games. Gleyber Torres has not been very
- 7:48good. I, I don't know what's going on
- 7:50with the Detroit Tigers, but the Guardians, we've seen this
- 7:53before. I'm not surprised the Guardians
- 7:56made a run like this. The Guardians are very well
- 7:59managed. They could, you could argue they
- 8:01have the best manager in baseball and they always have a
- 8:05good pitching staff and their pitching staff somehow figures
- 8:08it out in the second-half. If you look at the Cleveland
- 8:12Guardians record in the second-half in the last three
- 8:15seasons, you can argue this is the best team in baseball in the
- 8:19second-half. If you look at their record in
- 8:22the last three years, it's it's remarkable and I know Job is
- 8:25going to talk about Jose Ramirez and how he is a game changing
- 8:29player as one of the most underrated players in the
- 8:31league. It's proving it right now.
- 8:33You're not going to be talking about him as an MVP candidate,
- 8:36but if you look at his numbers in the second-half, especially
- 8:40what he's done, not only being in a lineup.
- 8:43He'll be in the top five like he usually is.
- 8:45But he's he's not going to win it.
- 8:47It's it's going on one or one of the other guy, you know, one or
- 8:50the other we've been speaking about.
- 8:51But the fact is, is Jose Ramirez, you can see why he is
- 8:56such a special player. You can see why the Guardians
- 8:58are making a run like they are. They're dangerous.
- 9:01As we we look at the record, we talk about the Yankees and I
- 9:03know we haven't spoken enough about the Yankees.
- 9:06I wanted to air this one out because Fish did not put this
- 9:09in. Congratulations to Aaron Boone.
- 9:12I don't care what anybody says about Aaron Boone and how bad of
- 9:16a manager this man is. If you look at the Yankees
- 9:19record in the last 60 games, he has one of the best.
- 9:24The Yankees have one of the best records in baseball and for all
- 9:28the pitching rows, they've had Devin Williams just absolutely
- 9:31being so bad in the first half. Go look at Devin Williams, his
- 9:35numbers in the last 20 games. Look at this pitching staff in
- 9:39the last 20 games since Max Free came back from that blister.
- 9:43Max Freed has you can argue is not only a Cy Young candidate,
- 9:47he's been the best pitcher in baseball since he's come back
- 9:49from that blister blister injury.
- 9:52It's been remarkable this team, Aaron Judge said it best
- 9:55yesterday after winning and and getting in and they could win
- 9:59the division. Still, crazy as it may sound,
- 10:01the Toronto had a six game lead a week and a half ago and they
- 10:06there was no way in hell that the Yankees were going to win
- 10:10the division. And tonight, the Yankees just
- 10:14tied the tied the I'm sorry, not.
- 10:17Did you try? To talk about.
- 10:18The Blue Jays for first place in their division.
- 10:22The Yankees could absolutely win the division.
- 10:24As Aaron Judge said yesterday after getting in I, I think
- 10:28that's the Yankee team is flying high in the perfect time.
- 10:32Bellinger is hitting Judges hitting this whole rosters
- 10:35hitting and they're getting the pitching that they need in the
- 10:38bullpen. They're going to be a hard out.
- 10:41I I, it's crazy to say this because I didn't think that the
- 10:44Yankees could really cut it And and over the last 55 games, the
- 10:47Yankees have been the best team or you could argue top three
- 10:50team right now in baseball. Congratulations to Aaron Boone
- 10:52for all the people that were taking shots at him and saying
- 10:56that he's done. He needs to be fired.
- 10:58Yankee fans, you could choke up whatever you want.
- 11:01I said about I've I've loved Aaron Boone.
- 11:04I've stuck up for Aaron Boone. I I didn't like him this year.
- 11:07I thought he was going to get fired at the end of the year.
- 11:09But what a remarkable, remarkable 50 games Aaron Boone
- 11:13has as a manager. Congratulations to him.
- 11:16And I'm not surprised about the Mets and the Tigers because I
- 11:18believe the Cleveland Guardians are as dangerous as a
- 11:21second-half team as any team in baseball.
- 11:24So congratulate if the Guardians pull this one off.
- 11:27Remarkable. Absolutely remarkable.
- 11:28Yeah, We talked earlier in the season about the Mets clutch
- 11:31stats and how they've been down for a lot of baseball throughout
- 11:33the year. I think they were eighth worst
- 11:35at the time. And if they want to nitpick on
- 11:37anything with soda in addition to obviously this field, the one
- 11:39you didn't expect to be good, it's been that this year.
- 11:42And we we've seen in a lot of these instances recently against
- 11:45the Nationals, they've lost two out of three in August to the
- 11:47Nationals. They lost two out of three
- 11:48recently to the Nationals. They lost to the Marlins.
- 11:50A lot of that had to do with losing a lot of those close
- 11:52games and eventually those add up and you don't want this kind
- 11:56of thing and kind of reverse mode from last year when the
- 11:59Mets had that slow start. Obviously Jorge Lopez, the noble
- 12:02throwing the glove in the stand debacle, and then the Mets
- 12:04rallied around that. It's kind of going in reverse
- 12:06and they're letting all this thing carry over and it got to
- 12:09the point where it's really messing with a lot of their
- 12:11fundamentals. Jeff McNeil has made really bad
- 12:14throws recently in yesterday's game and Brandon Nimbo, not the
- 12:18same in the field. He had a big home run recently,
- 12:20but it's really a fielding and pitching issue all at once
- 12:23that's really accumulated outside of Diaz and Brooks Raley
- 12:27and obviously the kids that have come up and nobody has pitched
- 12:29well. And Errol, like you're saying,
- 12:30Carlos Mendoza has been very suspect, like not bringing the
- 12:33pitchers in in the right times out of the bullpen either.
- 12:35And it's really adding up. The Tigers I think is a.
- 12:37Different. They fire him in the offseason.
- 12:39If they miss the playoffs, I think you don't have a choice.
- 12:41I think he's going to go away. Then it's he did so well last
- 12:44year. Like if you sympathize with that
- 12:46kind of thing, I don't think he's terrible, but some of the
- 12:49some of the mistakes that he was making in the second-half
- 12:51definitely cost them. Detroit, I think had a different
- 12:53issue. You'd mentioned the stars that
- 12:55they have, but I think the depth was a concern for them after the
- 12:57trade deadline. They didn't, really.
- 12:58I think that story hurt him too. I do too that that I think was a
- 13:02psychological end. And I think from the from the
- 13:04depth building standpoint, I like Kyle Finnegan.
- 13:07I think he's pitched well. They didn't build up the bullpen
- 13:08enough though. They had a lot of guys that were
- 13:10hurt. They're starting pitching
- 13:12outside of school, has a 5.78 error a since the trade
- 13:15deadline. So that is not going to win you
- 13:16games. Cleveland, I give them a lot of
- 13:18credit. They rallied around the whole
- 13:19Class A and. They're scary.
- 13:21They have the best manager in baseball right now.
- 13:24He's going to win manager of the year and this roster is just
- 13:28clicking at the right time and you know what the Guardians
- 13:31pitching is? They're just lights out.
- 13:33That bullpen is it's it's crazy how good the bullpens been in
- 13:38the last two months. I think they have the best ERA
- 13:41in baseball. That bullpen.
- 13:43We see how dominant they are. If the question is, are they
- 13:46going to do it in the playoffs? The Yankees got to them in the
- 13:48playoffs last year. Can they, if they match up
- 13:51against the Yankees at one point this year, this year in the
- 13:53playoffs, can they do what they couldn't do last year?
- 13:57That's the question. Final thoughts before you guys
- 13:58go, I just want to mention with the Guardians, I think they're
- 14:01kind of one of those weird teams that do well more as an underdog
- 14:04than they do as like a heavier favor.
- 14:06They were two seed last year. They they squeaked by a Tigers
- 14:08team, but they could have very easily lost that series.
- 14:10And we saw sometimes when the higher seeds and they end up
- 14:13losing earlier to the Yankees or to either even teams that
- 14:16weren't as talented than them. But they have a sense of
- 14:18adversity with Class A and Ortiz getting admitted in that
- 14:21scandal. And they've really had that bad
- 14:23losing streak off the trade, though, and they rallied around
- 14:25that since then. And they've just been playing
- 14:26their game since then and they played like the small ball.
- 14:29They're doing a lot of what the Brewers have done all year and
- 14:31it's working for them. Yeah, I think that when you look
- 14:36at the Tigers, I think it's kind of a tale of two seasons.
- 14:39Like last year you looked at, you know, they started off awful
- 14:42and then they they got hot at the right time.
- 14:44And this year is like, holy cow. Or is anybody going to beat the
- 14:47Tigers with, you know, the best record of baseball at one point?
- 14:50And then it turned into holy crap, we've got school and
- 14:55that's about it. It went, it literally when I
- 14:57talked to my people from Detroit, it went from, you know,
- 15:00wanting to go to every game. Now you're just going on school
- 15:02throws. And then that's just kind of the
- 15:04way their, their season turned around.
- 15:06And then I mean, the guardians with what they are, it's it's it
- 15:10doesn't, it shouldn't surprise anybody at this point when they
- 15:13always make a run, no matter where they're at.
- 15:15They've always been the underdog just because they don't really
- 15:17ever have a huge name. I mean, it's just obviously I, I
- 15:22love Jose Ramirez and what he is.
- 15:24And you know, he, he doesn't fly under the radar, you know, as
- 15:28much as he used to, because everybody's like, all right,
- 15:31let's stop talking about him as underrated because he's not.
- 15:35And it's, it's just one of those, one of those deals where
- 15:38they just, they really, oh, that when David Fry got hit in the
- 15:41face. Oh, that's rough.
- 15:44And you know, the crazy part about that is in that inning,
- 15:47it's the first time a Cy Young pitcher in school has thrown a
- 15:52wild pitch, balked and made an error all in one inning.
- 15:57And that, I mean, you guys don't understand like, how, like, that
- 16:01affects your psyche when you hit somebody, Like, it sticks with
- 16:04you because you see it and it just it's rough.
- 16:07And, you know, after that, you kind of seem.
- 16:09Then he gave up the Homer to Riley Green.
- 16:11So it, it's just, it's interesting to, to see those
- 16:15dynamics and, and the Mets, I don't know what you can say it's
- 16:17it's the first time in history that there's been a team with,
- 16:21they had a 7 plus losing streak in June.
- 16:23They had a 7/1 in August and they've had an 8 plus in
- 16:25September. So, and it's just they, they, as
- 16:29as you well know, speedy, they, they found every which way to
- 16:31lose. I mean the Saturday game was
- 16:34unfortunate when the guy had like 2 like home run robberies
- 16:38in center field right? Besides that, they're beating
- 16:40themselves. And I, I think it, it does, it
- 16:44been Mendoza does a great job. But this year I think it's, it's
- 16:47been so all over the place that it's, it's really kind of been,
- 16:51you know, it's always falls in his shoulders or whatever.
- 16:53But and, and Soto, like you think about the crazy year when
- 16:57we're like, oh, slow start that what he did this year is great.
- 17:01I mean, he had 40 homers, 100 bags, a hundred walks, 100 runs,
- 17:0430 steals. There's only been two other
- 17:06people in baseball history to do it, and that's Barry Bonds and
- 17:08Jeff Bagwell, which Bagwell surprise Bonds did not.
- 17:12But so just imagine if he didn't get off to a slow start.
- 17:15So just just seeing those epic. I mean, that's why you play 162
- 17:21because you never know what's going to happen and what makes
- 17:24it fun. And, you know, now you got, you
- 17:27know, people fighting and clawing to get in and then
- 17:30people playing spoiler. You know, obviously the Reds
- 17:32fighting and clawing who, you know, me and me and Goody were
- 17:36like, you know what, they're going to be in it.
- 17:38And I mean, they were. And then to lose the 1st 2 going
- 17:41into the last few games of the season.
- 17:44So yeah, it's all around. It's been fun, it's a great
- 17:47time. And see, now you get the
- 17:49tiebreakers and that last wild card makes things really, really
- 17:52interesting. And you know, it's these you
- 17:56always get one epic fail or epic run that goes into it.
- 17:59And you know, you went from having the best record.
- 18:02Now they, I think the Mets don't have the worst record in the
- 18:05last like 70 games. They're like number.
- 18:07Three. No, they're fourth.
- 18:08Worst. They're the tie for 4th, 4th.
- 18:094th My bad, my bad, my bad, my bad.
- 18:11That's only behind. I think it's the Nationals, the
- 18:13Rockies and the Angels I think are the only other three, which
- 18:17are all poverty franchises besides Washington I.
- 18:19Think. And that was a yeah, the Mets
- 18:30have just absolutely blown it. I mean, I've, I, I give some
- 18:37lessons to some guys and, and their favorite, their favorite
- 18:41team's, the Mets. And I always give them crap
- 18:42because it's just unbelievable what happened.
- 18:44But Carlos Mendoza is a manager in the minor leagues and I
- 18:47thought he was an amazing manager, actually one of my
- 18:49favorite. I had him through two seasons.
- 18:52And so I, I don't necessarily put all, I don't necessarily put
- 18:55all the blame on Mendoza, but I mean, he's the one they're going
- 19:00to go after. Yeah, there he is.
- 19:03Because again, you look at the pitching at the deadline too,
- 19:06like you're using you guys that are trying, you're trying to
- 19:09rebirth guys that have struggled.
- 19:10And he's been using Helsley, who was he's been a boss to which as
- 19:13he come over, it happens and he's still trying to use him,
- 19:15trying to get him to work in the most highest leverage situation
- 19:18to this Java. We were talking about this with
- 19:19the Padres. They've made Mason Miller,
- 19:22Robert Suarez, that combo work. Why can't the Mets do that with
- 19:24those relievers and put Diaz in in other spots that they're more
- 19:27comfortable with? I think that's hurt.
- 19:28Them he did that the other day. Did you see the children save
- 19:31there? He got.
- 19:32Finally did that, but I think it took a while for them to do that
- 19:34and I wish you just did that more so that goody.
- 19:36I don't think he's a bad manager either.
- 19:38I just think some some of the decisions have been very costly
- 19:40and those accumulate over time. But mainly it's what you were
- 19:43describing Java. Like once they lose a couple
- 19:45games it really just accumulates.
- 19:47It's also remark, and I know a lot of people, we're looking at
- 19:50this complete downfall of some of these teams, but we have to
- 19:53look at what some of these teams have done in the last 50 games.
- 19:57And that's why I had to add the the Aaron Judge, New York
- 20:00Yankees, because I think a lot of people counted the Yankees,
- 20:03including me. I counted.
- 20:05The Yankees. Yeah, I was about to say, dude,
- 20:07you were ripping the Yankees off.
- 20:08I. Counted the Yankees out.
- 20:10I, I really did. I, I didn't think they had
- 20:13enough. And honestly, as much as people
- 20:17hate Brian Cashman, Choppa Chamberlain, Brian Cashman made
- 20:23the moves that he needed to at the trade deadline and they
- 20:27finally are starting to look like they're working.
- 20:30And again, I I know a lot of Yankee fans think Brian Cashman
- 20:34has weighed out his welcome. He shouldn't be.
- 20:36Here. Hey, what he did was he he built
- 20:39up a nice cushion lead in the AL ES that the trade deadline.
- 20:43He said, you know what, let me go, Trey Expend all these guys
- 20:46get back these Major League All Stars.
- 20:49I know it takes a little bit of time for them to break into New
- 20:52York and learn how to pitch there.
- 20:54So I have that buffer of a few games of leading the East.
- 20:57And now that they've broken in, they know how to pitch New York.
- 21:00They know how to handle the pressure.
- 21:01Now you're seeing the fruits of your labor.
- 21:03He's genius. Yeah.
- 21:04Absolutely, I just saw a stat that said teams with the amount
- 21:10of days the 1st place to miss the playoffs, it'd be 173 days
- 21:17if they miss with the Mets are 175 with the Mets, 173 with the
- 21:21Tigers, and the last team to do was the Mets at 178 in 2007.
- 21:26Wow. Another.
- 21:28One go Mets. Another one you would probably
- 21:30want to throw in there too is like historic.
- 21:31If the Tigers do hang on, it would be the Astros.
- 21:34I don't think the Tigers hang on.
- 21:36I think the Guardians are going to.
- 21:37They're going to win the Central.
- 21:39I I do, I think the Tigers. Are I told you they're good?
- 21:43They just there's like they hit this moment where it's like, all
- 21:46right, you're you're either going to do it or you're not
- 21:48going to do it. And they when they had that like
- 21:51streak of losing and it's like, all right, we either do we want
- 21:54to play in the postseason this year or do we not?
- 21:57They kicked in. It's probably what one of the
- 21:59guys had in the Because if we do, we need to step it up.
- 22:02Yeah, because this ain't cutting it.
- 22:03And the next thing you know? Remarkable first place.
- 22:07Absolutely remarkable. Both the Yankees and the
- 22:09Guardians look. Like the Mets, The Mets will
- 22:10make it in, though the Reds will blow it.
- 22:13Hope you're right, John. Hope you're right.
- 22:15I know, goodies. Hope I was trying to give you I
- 22:17was trying to give you some soul as they're speedy like I mean,
- 22:20yeah, they I mean that sucked that match up early today 100
- 22:23green. You know what?
- 22:24I want the Mets to make it too, Jabba, because I don't want to
- 22:27hear goodies say I told you about Cincinnati, Terry Frank
- 22:30out I told you I. Believe I was on that train too.
- 22:35I was on. But listen, you got you just
- 22:37don't understand. Like it matters.
- 22:40He matters. I got it.
- 22:41And now, ladies and gentlemen, goodies.
- 22:43Bag of balls. My mom was going to wire a car
- 22:46battery. On my testicles trying to put
- 22:48Tiger. Bomb on this jungle's nuts.
- 22:51Goodies Bag of balls. That's how you become great man.
- 22:54Hang your. Balls out there all.
- 22:55Right, I got a couple things we want to go over.
- 22:59The first one is and, and it's come out and we know what we're
- 23:03talking about here, but MLB, Major League Baseball, we use
- 23:06the automatic ball strike challenge system.
- 23:09It's the ABS system that we have spoke about multiple times on
- 23:12this show, but they're going to use it during the entire 2026
- 23:15season. The there's now challenge rules.
- 23:18Each team will get 2 challenges and can keep them if they're
- 23:21successful. And then challenges can only be
- 23:24initiated by a pitcher catcher. And I think it what?
- 23:27What else was it? Pitcher, catcher and manager
- 23:32probably. And I think, yeah.
- 23:34Yeah, pitcher, catcher and man. Hope the manager.
- 23:37Yeah, what do we got? I, I think, I think it could be
- 23:43a good thing. I think like in major games, you
- 23:46know, these game of inches, you know, baseball's a game of
- 23:50inches. And so the guy misses the call.
- 23:52That can be the difference between going to the postseason
- 23:54and going home. I think it's it's good because
- 23:57you're only going to get to what I think is really going to be
- 24:00interesting is I think as much as people are are hating on the
- 24:04fact like is the human aspect coming?
- 24:08I think it's going to hold umpires more accountable because
- 24:12now it's the immediate satisfaction of hey, we're going
- 24:16to know. So maybe that low strike in the
- 24:19framing and stuff now is going to be different because they're
- 24:22going to, this is like a turn around and the average, so
- 24:25there's 2, so there's 4 total, correct?
- 24:27The average that they did it is 13.4 seconds.
- 24:30So when we talk about pace of play and people are like, oh,
- 24:32baseball's too, that's less than a minute if you're doing all of
- 24:34it. Think about how crazy this is
- 24:36going to be. Umpire.
- 24:38They umpire like management challenges.
- 24:41It doesn't win the challenge on a close play right Later in the
- 24:44game, guy gets banged on a curveball or fastball outside
- 24:47the zone, can't challenge it. The guy wants to challenge it
- 24:50clearly can't like it's and then the man now the umpire has to
- 24:57turn around because it'll are like if a umpire gets a call
- 25:01wrong in a in a very important game and the guys are out of
- 25:03challenges and he has to turn around and freaking see that he
- 25:05got it wrong. Like everybody's going to know
- 25:08every umpire's name like they're going to they're going to be get
- 25:10it. Their Twitter feed is going to
- 25:12be. Blown up, yeah.
- 25:14I mean, what you got to understand.
- 25:16You understand like they're. Going to get, they're going to
- 25:17get like death threats like this is crazy.
- 25:20Yeah, but and it's also it, it's going to come down to strategy
- 25:25like obviously when you, when do you use them?
- 25:29Like, is it early critical situations like how like, I'm
- 25:33very, very interested in everybody's always, you know,
- 25:36with everything that's changed in baseball and so on and so
- 25:38forth. But the players adapt very, very
- 25:41easy. It's the fans that it it takes
- 25:44longer to adapt to, but I think it's going to hold them
- 25:47accountable more because now it's going to be like, OK, CB
- 25:51Buckner. Yeah, you get your umpire grades
- 25:54on X and you can see all this stuff.
- 25:56But now it's like during a game in the bottom of the ninth that
- 26:00could change the whole dynamic of a game and boom, sorry you
- 26:05blew that one. And we're talking about I saw
- 26:07one in the Dodgers Diamondbacks game just literally like 5
- 26:11minutes ago that was split middle, middle and it was a ball
- 26:14that's in the 8th inning in a playoff game.
- 26:16And now you you have the challenge.
- 26:18So there's going to be Storm to Teegery in there when you use
- 26:21them. Yeah.
- 26:22So I'm I'm excited to see how it is.
- 26:24It's not going to be a long process, which I'm really,
- 26:27really excited about where it's boom, it's one of these
- 26:30everybody turns average of 13 seconds.
- 26:32Hey, next pitch, let's go. I'll save them.
- 26:35I'm I'm excited. I'll save them.
- 26:36I'll save them for all the 9th inning if it's a playoff game
- 26:40and you need that. Goal.
- 26:41What's the strategy? Yeah, you know, like that's a
- 26:43whole nother aspect of the game that the manager has to be like,
- 26:46all right, Dang, I have. When should I throw my
- 26:49challenge? Well, and also where?
- 26:51Think about it. Think about if he steps on your
- 26:55toes and takes one away from you.
- 26:57This is I know. That's.
- 27:00Why? Like there's so many things,
- 27:02like I'm excited. About if I was a manager and if
- 27:05I. In here for the ninth like it's
- 27:06a ballsy. Move.
- 27:07That's that's what that's what I would do.
- 27:08I would save it for the ninth because at the in the 9th
- 27:11inning, if it's that one or two strikes that could win you the
- 27:14game, you're going to need those strikes because you could just
- 27:17say I'm challenging it. That's a strike, and that could
- 27:19end the game. I understand, I understand what
- 27:21you're saying there, but that could that could also hurt you
- 27:24in the sixth inning where you don't get the call and boom, two
- 27:27run Homer. Now you're not even in the
- 27:29situation to get that that that 9th inning call.
- 27:32So I'm like. Oh no.
- 27:33Like, there's been so many things I've looked at I'm.
- 27:35Like, you know, always win the game in the 9th inning, yes,
- 27:38that's when the game is over. But games are one second inning,
- 27:41third inning, 4th inning, 5th inning, 6th inning.
- 27:44So like at some point and one of those innings you got to stop
- 27:47the bleeding. Do you throw the challenge flag?
- 27:48You know what's interesting? Because if the if the Yankees
- 27:51had that, when Garrett Cole and the Yankees had a 5 nothing lead
- 27:54and that bad inning, some of those strikes, they were strikes
- 27:58and they called it balls. Maybe the Yankees challenge that
- 28:01and get out of that inning and maybe the Yankees win that game
- 28:04if they actually add this. So if you think about it, that
- 28:06could have changed the World Series and it might change
- 28:09something in the playoffs this year that could.
- 28:12Cost it will. Yeah.
- 28:13So it could cost other teams. The other one is.
- 28:15Going to be, it's crazy. This is going to be great.
- 28:18I mean, you know, baseball fans, traditionalists might not like
- 28:23it, but like you said, we don't necessarily love the pitch
- 28:25clock. But fans are starting to adapt.
- 28:27And now that you know, they like.
- 28:29It you don't even really noticed it.
- 28:31No or like the the left-handed one out guy right?
- 28:34Like the loogie? I still.
- 28:37I still. Hate that I like it because
- 28:40we're traditionalists, because we don't care how long the
- 28:42game's been played, because we just love to play.
- 28:45But people are now gambling and like, you know, they're probably
- 28:49gambling on game times, I'm sure, and everything.
- 28:52You can gamble on everything. And it's like.
- 28:54The other strategy thing I think you guys didn't mention yet is
- 28:56you would you want to use it, let's say there's like a six or
- 28:59seven hitter that maybe draws a walk that gets on base or
- 29:01something like that. Do you, do you want to use it
- 29:03then think you can extend the inning because this guy doesn't
- 29:05normally get on base. Do you want to use it for how
- 29:07many outs there are in the inning too?
- 29:09In addition to like when in the game you use it too?
- 29:11It's very interesting. And then lastly, Goody, I want
- 29:13to mention the comments I texted you a few months ago.
- 29:15Remember how when I texted you about Steve, even Quan getting
- 29:17screwed by all those like borderline calls?
- 29:20Like double the amount of the next league?
- 29:22I'm sure he's happy about this rule.
- 29:24Yes, yes, Stephen Quan will for sure benefit from this rule.
- 29:28Absolutely. I want to say something.
- 29:30Could I say something? The Guardians were trading
- 29:33pieces away at the trade deadline.
- 29:35Well, yeah, that's my next. You want to just jump into it?
- 29:37I didn't even. Go right.
- 29:38In the back right here. Go ahead, go ahead.
- 29:40I'm sorry. Go.
- 29:40Ahead. All right, let me.
- 29:42Let me these these things blow my mind.
- 29:45All right, so back around the All Star break, Cleveland's odds
- 29:50to win the AL Central were plus 15,000 and they had like a .66
- 29:56chance. OK, .66 is clearly not a lot.
- 30:01Now you Fast forward this week and they're now 225 favorites
- 30:07over Detroit and sports books like big ones like The MGM and
- 30:13it's like, dude, it like it just blows my mind what they're doing
- 30:16right now. Like they they literally had
- 30:18Mount Everest to climb. What were they like 15 1/2 games
- 30:21back and they're there and they've eclipsed it.
- 30:25It's dude and they're young, which is crazy.
- 30:28You know what's so funny? And this.
- 30:30You know, people, people. Crapped on Stephen Vog like we
- 30:35you know, they were crapping on him.
- 30:36Why is he doing this? Why isn't that?
- 30:37But the manager matters, Tito matters, Stephen Vogt matters.
- 30:41And look what's happening if there's no coincidence.
- 30:43You know what this reminds me of?
- 30:45Anybody remember the Saint Louis Blues?
- 30:47Remember they fire their they fire their coach before the
- 30:51first, before the All Star break, and then they bring in
- 30:55Craig Barubi and they had the worst record in hockey.
- 30:59OK, it was so bad. And then all of a sudden after
- 31:03the All Star break, Saint Louis went on this.
- 31:05They traded away pieces. They were they nobody thought
- 31:09they had any chance of making the playoffs.
- 31:11They come all the way back at hot in the second-half of the
- 31:15NHL season. They wind up one of the top
- 31:17teams in the Western Conference and they go on a run and they
- 31:21win the Stanley Cup. OK, I remember it.
- 31:24It was unbelievable. And the chances of it was even
- 31:27higher than 1500. I think it was like 2500 all
- 31:31right. Like wouldn't think like dude
- 31:33what clicks for teams I. Don't know you.
- 31:35Know coaching, I think. Coaching.
- 31:37Managing. Coaching matters, but I think
- 31:40it's when everybody's like energy matches.
- 31:43It's not like you're not just playing for yourself, you know,
- 31:46you know, you're playing for something bigger.
- 31:47I I just think. I think it's, I think it's, I've
- 31:50said it, I think the Guardians, their manager is going to win
- 31:53Manager of the year. I think he absolutely should
- 31:56after watching what the Guardians have done and just
- 31:59think about it, like you just said, a goodie.
- 32:01When you look at the team and look at the organization as a
- 32:04whole, I said it go look at the Guardians record in the
- 32:07second-half of the season in the last three years.
- 32:10If you compare it, it's almost identical in three years.
- 32:15I said this, and I said it before the All Star break.
- 32:18I wouldn't be surprised if the Guardians make a run and they
- 32:21sneak into the playoffs. Did anybody think that this team
- 32:24was going to win the? Division like at at the at the
- 32:27mid season, like as a trade deadline, we lost Class A who
- 32:30was supposed to bring in a ton of whatever he wanted.
- 32:35Basically, you could command whatever you want for Class A.
- 32:37And then we also lost Luis Ortiz, multiple injuries, guys
- 32:42coming up and down like. Got rid of Bieber.
- 32:46Got rid of Bieber. I mean it's it's like it's just
- 32:49been boom, boom, boom. And then they they also started
- 32:52what they do like a six man rotation at some point and
- 32:55they're just trying everything they can to win.
- 32:57And then like, you know, to me, this shows like this team is
- 33:00super resilient. And I know they're young, but
- 33:02it's like, I don't know if they necessarily know what they just
- 33:05did, like overcoming 15 1/2 games and the most in history.
- 33:09But I think this team is like, it reminds me a lot of the team
- 33:12I was on in 2017 when we won 22 in a row.
- 33:15Like they're just synergizing. We're all in the same like
- 33:18wavelength. It's well.
- 33:20And it and it's cool. Looks like you got bold Naylor
- 33:23who's was literally garbage all year.
- 33:25And I'm not not talking trash literally and figuratively, but
- 33:28he just wasn't good. And then somehow he figured out,
- 33:31he changed his stance and he's hitting over 300 in this last
- 33:36stretch and dudes figured out and that's that's buying in.
- 33:39That's understanding. Like, hey, we believe in each
- 33:42other. Like we know we have a mountain
- 33:44to climb. We're like, so let's just win
- 33:46one game. Did you see Cal Riley
- 33:48afterwards? Yeah, yeah, Dropped the F bomb
- 33:51on TV and the guys were like. Let it like weird.
- 33:54Sorry, you know Cal Riley's emotional remarks, Yeah.
- 33:57So yeah, it's yeah, it's, it's, it's fun to see.
- 34:01That's why they you never, you never know.
- 34:04That's why sometimes I'm like, I love that wild card game where
- 34:08it's win or go home Now it's, you know, you got the three.
- 34:12But yeah, it's, it's it's crazy to to see some of these
- 34:15deficits. And, and I've always wondered,
- 34:18do you look at it more so as them like, is it a full
- 34:23derailment of the team that was in the lead?
- 34:25Or do you like give the, the team credit for coming back and
- 34:28not looking at the number? Like, because obviously these
- 34:31people just have to diarrhea on themselves to lose a 15 1/2, you
- 34:35know. So like, do you give more credit
- 34:38to the team that's overcoming that?
- 34:40Or do you like, man, they really just, they just really blew it.
- 34:45I think a Cleveland play case you have to because of what
- 34:47could he describe. Like they have all this
- 34:48adversity they have to overcome with the scandal that are going
- 34:52on with their pitching. They traded other stuff away.
- 34:53They lost a lot of their starting rotation and like.
- 34:55You see? But you see what winning does?
- 34:58Yeah, winning helps you forget about that other stuff.
- 35:00Right. Isn't it?
- 35:01Yeah, that's wild. Dude didn't like think about
- 35:03everything that they had to have overcome and all that honesty
- 35:06vote too. You know he's and they have a
- 35:08lot of. Like they have, not just.
- 35:10Naylor, they have a lot of those other guys that are like random
- 35:12platoon players, like what was it Schneemann in the outfielder
- 35:15that he's broken out? Recently.
- 35:16Yeah, he's, hey, he's a stud. Yeah, he's played very well.
- 35:19They have a. Lot of dude.
- 35:20Like if you aren't a baseball fan, you'd probably know about
- 35:2512% of that roster. Yeah, maybe 2.
- 35:28You would know Jose Ramirez and. He's thinking.
- 35:34Jose Ramirez. I mean, not really.
- 35:38I mean maybe Stephen Quan. Stephen Quan, But I will even
- 35:42him. I will say quiet, he's not
- 35:44right. I will say this.
- 35:45You see, everybody was going back and forth about Cal Raleigh
- 35:48and and Aaron Judge. I don't think it's an argument.
- 35:50I think job you're right, Aaron Judge is absolutely the MVP of
- 35:54the league. I don't care what Cal rally did
- 35:56when it came to home runs and as a catcher.
- 35:59Aaron Judge coming back from the injury that he's had and and and
- 36:03still keeping his numbers up at 3:20 for all the season 8 at at
- 36:07one point for two months, he only he was hitting over 400.
- 36:11I, I, I'm sorry, I think, I think Aaron Judge is the
- 36:14absolutely going to run away as good as rally's been.
- 36:18I saw somebody tweet out that if Cal Raleigh loses 180 points on
- 36:23his OPS, he's an average baseball player.
- 36:27If Aaron Judge loses 180 on his OPS, he's Cal Raleigh.
- 36:32Still like, yeah. Cal Raleigh.
- 36:34This is 180 on his own. PS He's Cal Raleigh.
- 36:37I was like, man. It's it is crazy that too, you
- 36:41know, listen to Tom Verducci talk and one of the dudes that I
- 36:44envy for the just the brilliant mind that he has in baseball.
- 36:48And he was he was touched on Cal like Cal's going to play in 159
- 36:52games like that's that's unheard of.
- 36:54And to do and not only hit, he hit his 59 tonight, but you got
- 36:59to forget, you guys forget he's a platinum Gold Glove catcher.
- 37:04Like his defensive run saves are crazy.
- 37:06Like, and to be able to stay locked in and be the quarterback
- 37:10and call pitches and and be invested and not only that and
- 37:13then be able still to do what you do.
- 37:15Like I'm not taking anything away from him because if it
- 37:19wasn't for Aaron Judge, we wouldn't even be having this
- 37:21conversation. And for the same reason in the
- 37:24in we'll get into that more, but it's just it's crazy to to see
- 37:30these guys in these teams that you don't like and and Cal
- 37:33Raleigh obviously signed a decent deal, but you didn't
- 37:35really know who he was. And the best is like he only hit
- 37:38like 3030 homers or something. They're like, Oh, I can't wait
- 37:41till he gets tested and get caught.
- 37:42Like man, stop drinking the hater raid people.
- 37:45Just just when the dude give props where props are, dude,
- 37:47like man, there's so much hate in this world.
- 37:50Like just big ups to the man for doing it.
- 37:53And like, just because you want Judge to win, like does Judge
- 37:57deserving to win? Yeah, like, and I mean, look at
- 38:00this. If it ain't for Cal, Rally Judge
- 38:02wins the Triple Crown. Yeah, I mean, he's it's great.
- 38:07I mean, Judge is the supreme, the best hitter in the league.
- 38:12But then the defensive metrics come into play because the
- 38:16catcher kept, like you said, and the catcher catches and throws
- 38:19just as much, if not more as the pitcher.
- 38:21And how many defensive runs does he say versus how many has Aaron
- 38:24Judge saved in right field? And how do you quantify that?
- 38:26Like that's what they're trying to do.
- 38:28We'll get into that deeper next week.
- 38:30Go. You will get into that deeper.
- 38:31It's just blows my mind, I don't know.
- 38:34Blows my mind. How you blow a 15 1/2 a game
- 38:37lead is what blows my mind. That's been yeah, that's, that
- 38:41was wild. I mean they.
- 38:41Didn't know 62 and then they went to the World Series.
- 38:44That's Detroit. I don't like I don't even know
- 38:46what to say dude, that's crazy. That's.
- 38:49Detroit Gutterville, as I call them.
- 38:53I know Jabba doesn't like that, but I used to call him
- 38:55Gutterville. What did Jeff call them?
- 38:57Trash in Detroit I. Mean just to just to get back.
- 39:03Kind of like on track. Now Cleveland has all the
- 39:06momentum in the world. They have all women in the
- 39:09world. They just won the night.
- 39:12You, you beat Scubal as their best pitcher and now you win
- 39:16again tonight. And it's just, and you have
- 39:19different guys from that team stepping up.
- 39:21Like I know one of my buddies is on, they're close with Detroit
- 39:25and he's like, dude, Cleveland, he's like, I don't, we don't
- 39:27know. We don't know.
- 39:28We can't figure them out. It's just it's crazy.
- 39:34Season's been crazy. All right, do we have one more?
- 39:40Yeah, yeah, one more. 1. More Jesse, did you see
- 39:44Belichick was on a cover of Us Weekly?
- 39:47Oh, I did, yeah. After his own fourth start.
- 39:50They just came down here to UCF and got beat by UCF.
- 39:54Yeah, University of North Carolina came down and beat UCF.
- 39:56Blows my mind. Anyways, is he?
- 39:58I mean, I think Billy Bees is the swaggiest coach in college
- 40:02football. He does it all except when.
- 40:05He's swaggy, all right. He's got a woman that's wearing,
- 40:08you know, boots, barely anything.
- 40:10She might as well walk on the sidelines topless because that's
- 40:14all anybody is talking about right now.
- 40:15They don't care about Bill Belichick.
- 40:17They care about his woman strutting herself up and down
- 40:20the line and and really making all the calls it it really has
- 40:24nothing. If I was a recruiter, I'm sorry.
- 40:28If I'm a kid that I'm getting recruited by Bill Belichick, I'm
- 40:31telling, I'm telling Bill to have his woman recruit me.
- 40:35I don't want to see your ugly face.
- 40:37I want to see your woman come and speak.
- 40:40How do? You think that she's in the if
- 40:42she's like, could you imagine like 100% and think about this.
- 40:45We have kids, goodie. Like, just put like, OK, our
- 40:49kids play football and they're getting recruited by North
- 40:52Carolina. Could you imagine going in there
- 40:54expecting like Bill Belichick to talk to you and then literally
- 40:57Jordan or what? However she says it and like she
- 41:00starts talking. I don't know what I would do as
- 41:03a parent because you're obviously seeing it right now.
- 41:07And and I don't know if you guys have seen some of the the memes
- 41:10are hilarious, but and then some of the people talking about it
- 41:12like they've never seen something like this.
- 41:15And I, I guess I never paid attention enough to where there
- 41:18was even a conversation. Mick.
- 41:21Jagger had a kid at like 80 with however old his wife was.
- 41:25Yeah, I mean, it still works. I mean, that guy's a rock star.
- 41:28You know what I would do if I was the father and my kid was
- 41:31sitting there and he was trying to get recruited by her?
- 41:33I'd be like, show me some boobie.
- 41:34You know, I'll get him in the school.
- 41:36Show me some boobie. I want to see some boobie.
- 41:39But I just it's, it's, I mean, good for her.
- 41:43She's pulling it off, I guess. What?
- 41:45She's pulling my right. What I want to know is get your
- 41:47perspective on what do you think that what do you think the guys
- 41:50in the locker room are thinking? Tell you what, The coach?
- 41:53Is Mack in his side? He's 80.
- 41:55Like he's the dream, That's the dream.
- 41:56What makes me, if I was a player and I was, I'm going over there
- 42:00and I want to be coached by Bill Belichick.
- 42:03And I see his woman, 24 years old, who's just as young as
- 42:08maybe the oldest player on my team, OK.
- 42:12And I see her strung herself during practices and with
- 42:16practically nothing on and she looks like a cheerleader.
- 42:19I sincerely, I'd be upset if I'm a star player and I'm going over
- 42:24there. There was a couple of offensive
- 42:25lineman that went into the portal that were going to be a
- 42:28high draft stock. Players going into the portal
- 42:32this year to go and work with a Bill Belichick because he's got
- 42:36all the means of getting you into the NFL and being
- 42:38successful. I would not be happy that I'm
- 42:41seeing his woman walk up and down and strung herself and
- 42:44speak for him and doing the things and there's video and
- 42:47pictures and I wouldn't be happy if I was a recruit and I know
- 42:51that. Would you let your son go to
- 42:53UNC? No, no, no.
- 42:56There you go. Not at all.
- 42:58And that's why I think UNC football is never going to get
- 43:01over the hump. And Bill Belichick is going to
- 43:03say either I'm going back to the NFL or this isn't going to work.
- 43:06This this trial is not working. And I will say this, the only
- 43:10reason why he took that job is because he wants to be like his
- 43:13father. His father coached UNC.
- 43:16That was why he took the job or I think.
- 43:20That's interesting. Yeah, and he wanted, the whole
- 43:22thing is, is Atlanta should have hired him.
- 43:25The Falcons should have hired him.
- 43:26That would have been the best hope for.
- 43:28Them do you think he'll live out his no tenure there in his
- 43:34contract? No, I think I think another year
- 43:36of this and he's going to say if I want to still coach, I'm going
- 43:39back to the NFLI have a better chance of winning in the NFL.
- 43:42There's no way there'll be teams next year that are going to open
- 43:45up big name teams. If Green Bay fails, if Green Bay
- 43:50fails this year to win a Super Bowl next year, their their
- 43:54coach, as good as as good as he's been, could be on the hot
- 43:57seat because that team is loaded.
- 43:59And if they can't get to the Super Bowl this year and next
- 44:03year, they could be looking for a new, new coach.
- 44:05And, and if, if they think Bill Belichick is the answer to get
- 44:08you over the hump, that's where he would go.
- 44:10So he's going to go to a Super Bowl contender if he leaves UNC.
- 44:14But no, I, I, if I'm a recruiter, I don't want to, I
- 44:17don't want any bit of any of the challenge that I have to deal
- 44:21with on the sidelines with that freaking woman walking up and
- 44:24down the silence just trying to herself.
- 44:26I would just get sick and I'd be like, I'd, I'd honestly probably
- 44:30get kicked off the team because I'd be saying all these weird
- 44:33things to her. So I, I just, I mean, come on,
- 44:36man, an old, an old man in his 70s, Mack in that, I mean, come
- 44:42on, we all know there's money behind that.
- 44:45She's walking with her Louis Vuitton bags.
- 44:49Her. Maybe she likes.
- 44:50Maybe she likes older? Dudes, she does not.
- 44:52Maybe it's. True love.
- 44:53How many Viagra pills is that man popping every single night
- 44:57before he gets into bed? That guy's gonna have a massive
- 44:59heart attack on the sidelines before you know it.
- 45:01I mean, that's. What maybe she's probably, I
- 45:03mean, he's got a good ticker, obviously.
- 45:05He's got a ticker, all right. It's tick, tick ticking.
- 45:07He'll have a heart attack on the sidelines and not show any
- 45:10emotion like he always does. It's a number arrow that's.
- 45:14There's a lot of numbers that I would like to spit out.
- 45:17What Bill Belichick is holding when it comes to age is a number
- 45:21that I do not want to ever concede to it in.
- 45:25Invest into a 24 year old woman. OK, that's a that's sad.
- 45:30OK, that's sad that if I was a father of hers, I would be
- 45:35upset. I would be, I would be like, I
- 45:37would be really, really upset. I'd be like, what the hell do
- 45:40you see in a 77 year old man? Okay, it's definitely not as
- 45:45it's definitely not as pork rind in his pants.
- 45:47Okay, all right, It's definitely not that.
- 45:50Hold on, am I misspoken here? Like she had like a book
- 45:55autographed by him when she was like 12.
- 45:56I think so. I don't know what the hell is up
- 45:59with her father. I mean, our father, who's
- 46:01probably younger than 50 years old.
- 46:04I mean, he's 20 years older than her father And, and she and he's
- 46:08allowing this disgustingness. And I mean, this is this is
- 46:11disgusting. All right, I, I and I don't like
- 46:14it because Bill Belichick is not doing his job.
- 46:17His mind is not into football. It's into titties and ass.
- 46:21That's what I would be. That's what my mind will be in.
- 46:24Oh, my God, I can't wait to Mack that thing.
- 46:26Oh, man, I'm going to get her in that.
- 46:29I'm going to get her in that Louis Vuitton.
- 46:31You know, I don't know that that I I bought her.
- 46:35I bought her a Louis Vuitton bag.
- 46:36I'd rather just wear that Louis. Vuitton Louis Vuitton cut cut a
- 46:40booty. Something man, I.
- 46:42Mean it. Could you imagine her wearing
- 46:45Bill Belichick's half half cut, you know, hoodies?
- 46:49You just see at the bottom of her her boobies.
- 46:52I'm not going to say what I really want to say.
- 46:54And you see that thing strutting on the sidelines.
- 46:56I, I'm telling you, man, I, I, I'm sick.
- 47:01I'm sick to my stomach. All right, let's get off of it.
- 47:03All right, ladies and gentlemen, what's that smell?
- 47:06Hold up. What is that smell?
- 47:08What's? Right.
- 47:12Smell. Wow, you don't see that
- 47:16everyday. All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 47:18what's that smell? And we're going to get Jarrett
- 47:20in here because we don't have fish.
- 47:23And what we're going to do, it's pretty simple.
- 47:25What we do is we go around, we tell a story, and we're going to
- 47:28tell you what it smells like. So tonight for the first time on
- 47:32what's that smell? I think this is his first time,
- 47:34right? Yeah, Jarrett done to.
- 47:35Us. All right, we're going to get
- 47:36Jarrett as our first guy. We're going to have Poops as our
- 47:40second guy. We're going to have Speedy as
- 47:42our third guy. We're going to have Goody as our
- 47:45fourth guy, then Jabba or Joba, then me.
- 47:50Here we go. Look at Jared is literally
- 47:53pandering with all of us like he.
- 47:56Went. Daniel Jones, and he was talking
- 47:58about how she was. I got an LSU shirt on.
- 48:01It's all a plant. Brilliant glory hole.
- 48:05That's tight. Hey, next you'll have to wear a
- 48:08leash on your neck for Nathan. So I'm putting you on a leash
- 48:12now. A lot of hot ladies.
- 48:15Oh goodness. I've got a new one for you.
- 48:18Have you heard the new ones? Doble fisting.
- 48:23What does it say? Doble fisting.
- 48:26Double fisting. Double fisting.
- 48:28Oh my gosh. Thumb up my ass.
- 48:34Don't you love Nathan? Oops, he gets no cooch.
- 48:40The best is he does this voluntarily.
- 48:44Like it's, it's not like, hey, we're going to give you 100
- 48:48bucks. Like let me just do.
- 48:49It I told Errol the next one he has to do is 1 for Jeff.
- 48:53Jabba likes my shrimp cocktail all.
- 48:58Right, Jared, let's get it all right.
- 49:03This is from this from last week, actually.
- 49:06NBA Commissioner Adam Silver was caught in a bit of a lie by the
- 49:11great Pablo Torre. He's done an amazing job
- 49:13covering this Clipper story, he said in the first press
- 49:17conference. And I quote, frankly, I never
- 49:20heard of the company aspiration before.
- 49:23It was all new to me. Then the next night, Pablo Torre
- 49:28came out with a report that said every single sponsorship goes
- 49:30through the NBA, especially one that was worth over $300
- 49:34million. So how did Adam Silver not know
- 49:36about this? Silver immediately then went on
- 49:39the air the next day and said, I said I never heard of it.
- 49:42I meant in the context of the accusations here.
- 49:45I was certainly aware of the brand he said the first time.
- 49:51I never have the company aspiration for.
- 49:54He is completely lying out of his ass right now.
- 49:57He is either a lying about that he'd never heard of it, that he
- 50:03had heard of it and he was covering something up before
- 50:05him. He knew very well what's going
- 50:07on with aspiration with Steve Ballmer, or he's just lying that
- 50:11he never, it never came across his desk and he's not the one
- 50:14doing those things. So either it's just a bad look
- 50:16or it's a major scandal. Either way, it smells awful.
- 50:21It smells like the 11160 toilets at the Intuit Dome right now.
- 50:27There's something deep going on at the Intuit with the NBA and
- 50:31this whole scandal. I don't know what's going to
- 50:32happen with it, but it ain't going to be good.
- 50:37All right, Silver, Silver and that gang over there in the NBA
- 50:41is definitely quite the spectacle.
- 50:43But I'm going to actually, I try not to kind of stay on the same
- 50:46topic with my what's that smells back-to-back week.
- 50:49But I have to go back to some wrestling because I was already
- 50:53I was already conversating with Jabba and Jared in the chat last
- 50:57show and already got their opinions.
- 50:58But Oh my God, for the first ever pay-per-view on ESPN for
- 51:03WWE, Wrestle Palooza was absolutely garbage.
- 51:07It was hot trash. All the matches on that card
- 51:11absolutely were underwhelming, besides one match which was the
- 51:14woman's match to crown a Woman's World champion.
- 51:18Now that the title is no longer vacant, however, just it was
- 51:22very poorly done. The return of AJ Lee, the match
- 51:25was very underwhelming. Like I said, the match between
- 51:27Brock Lesnar and John Cena for the last time ever, absolutely a
- 51:31squash mesh. I don't even know what they were
- 51:33thinking with that match. And on top of that, I want to
- 51:35mention how a lot of people that I know personally as well, all
- 51:38over Twitter, all over the world, were not even able to
- 51:41watch the pay-per-view. They were having troubles right
- 51:43out of the gate from trying to purchase the $30 price tag on
- 51:46ESPN. So it was just a huge mess.
- 51:48I ended up getting AVPN. Anybody that's watching, make
- 51:51sure you get your VPN and go on Netflix and watch it because
- 51:54that is the only way you can actually.
- 51:55Watch it. Reasonably so.
- 51:57What does it smell like? It smells.
- 51:59Oh, and I'd even mentioned ESPN as well gave rest of Palooza AC
- 52:04rating. So that's pretty embarrassing
- 52:06the fact that their own network gave it AC rating.
- 52:07But it honestly smells like a palooza of turds.
- 52:11Excreting or exasperating? We're seeping from a clogged
- 52:17toilet over in Indiana. So poops gets no coots.
- 52:21There we go. All right.
- 52:23Scoops sits on the shitter. Goody, you talked about
- 52:25Belichick and Jordan Hudson's relationship.
- 52:27I'm going to stay in college football with another
- 52:28relationship, and that is Elaine Kiffin's daughter.
- 52:31Some of my ass. Landry kiffin is come out on
- 52:35Instagram that she is dating LSU linebacker wit weeks and.
- 52:39Lulu. Post it on Instagram.
- 52:42LSU's best player, LSU's best linebacker, something like that.
- 52:45The only LSU linebacker. All all, all respect.
- 52:47And the linebacker. Weeks responded in the comment
- 52:50section. I've heard he's a pretty good
- 52:52guy as well. And actually Lane Kiffin and his
- 52:55petty self goes bet the over in this game.
- 52:57And we're playing, we're playing mind games with these guys.
- 53:00This is peak mind games right there.
- 53:01As LSU, we'll take out Ole Miss at Ole Miss this Saturday #3
- 53:05versus. #13 in. This in the country very funny
- 53:08story. What does it smell like?
- 53:10Well, there's a there's a dairy plant in Mississippi called
- 53:12Kojuko that apparently smells like spoiled milk.
- 53:15So that smells like Giants legend Evan Engram and Ole
- 53:18Missalum sitting in that late lagoon for the entire game.
- 53:22Breaking news, I got to go back off now.
- 53:26You got to root for Lane Kiffin. He's from Lincoln, OH.
- 53:29You got to root for what weeks? Goody has no woody.
- 53:35He's in Kiffin. Will Weeks apparently had enough
- 53:38of a woody to get her. I have no all right.
- 53:42Just whip this one up. Did anybody see this?
- 53:45Peter Fairbanks blew a kiss. Old Oracle looked like the
- 53:50Orioles dugout. But now he's saying that the
- 53:52actual the kiss was meant for towards a fan.
- 53:56And it looks to me like he's backtracking on what he was
- 54:00actually, you know, like he hit the guy, apologize, and now he
- 54:03blew a kiss to him because he shut him down.
- 54:06And now he goes into the media and he has to come up with some
- 54:08story to make him look like a good guy.
- 54:10Smells pretty. So it's pretty fishy to me.
- 54:14Like, I don't know, putting opening up tuna cans and
- 54:18sticking them under your girlfriend's car seat and
- 54:21letting simmer in the sun? Smell my ass.
- 54:24Breaking news. I need Brittany also you.
- 54:26Sure, that's the car seat? Or just not her.
- 54:30Yo, my dad said that he used to do he did that as somebody in
- 54:33high school and they said they could not find it and their
- 54:36whole whole car smelled like tuna for.
- 54:40Like the streaks in that bridge? Goody wants to buy Kozuko dairy
- 54:43plant spoiled milk topped on that to another add to it.
- 54:45Yeah, just pop it. Oh my gosh, could you imagine my
- 54:49blood? No.
- 54:52That's good, yeah. There'd be none of that going on
- 54:57this dobber in the dirt, Yeah. You're the one who said it.
- 55:06Oh, yeah. I mean, yeah, but not about
- 55:09that, I guess. Pulled it out of my ass.
- 55:12Yeah, for sure. All right, it's my turn yet.
- 55:15It's Yep, it's so. I'm going George Springer crying
- 55:21per kind of the usual as he hits a ball down the line and then he
- 55:27gets in. Tough call either way, I will
- 55:30give him that. But at the same time then he's
- 55:33gone and you see him in the dugout.
- 55:35Just absolutely moaning. Like if you just want to give it
- 55:39to New York, just give it to him.
- 55:41Like blah. Like what?
- 55:42Like first of all, grow up. Second of all, grow up.
- 55:48Third of all, grow up. And you know what it smells like
- 55:53You've already cheated once, you're trying to cheat again.
- 55:55It smells like not only tuna under the seat, but her legs
- 56:00spread even making it smell worse when it's shark wheat.
- 56:04This makes my pecker hard. That does not.
- 56:12What are we doing? Like the streaks in my britches.
- 56:17Oh, the wheels always fall off in this segment.
- 56:19Every time. All right, the final what's that
- 56:22smell goes to the get ready guys?
- 56:26Indiana fever. It is unbelievable what's going
- 56:31on right now without Caitlin Clark, Sophia Cunningham,
- 56:35Aaliyah Boston, Chloe Bibby, Lexie Hall, Kelsey Mitchell.
- 56:41Oh my God, they have one more game left.
- 56:47If they win this game, they're going to the WNBA Finals.
- 56:52Without Caitlin Clark, who would have thought this to happen?
- 56:57Their best play, one of the best players in the WNBA, was lost
- 57:02all really for almost a month and a half and then going into
- 57:06the playoffs knocking off the champion, Liberty knocking off
- 57:09that team, and then the Liberty firing their coach right after
- 57:14that loss, who just won a championship last year and went
- 57:18to AW Eastern. What was it?
- 57:20Eastern Conference finals the year before.
- 57:23And then they fired their coach right after that loss.
- 57:26I it's unbelievable what that fever is doing this.
- 57:29If they win a championship without Caitlin Clark, does
- 57:31Caitlin Clark come back for the WNBA championship to help them
- 57:35win? I mean, I, it is an unbelievable
- 57:38story. Congratulate.
- 57:39If they do it, congratulations to them.
- 57:41What a remarkable run. What a remarkable run.
- 57:45What it smells like. It smells.
