- 3:54[SPEAKER_04]: Sleep well, especially, uh,
- 3:57[SPEAKER_04]: with these late games that are going to be coming up for you bravest souls who will watch for me.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_04]: Well, yeah, not for you because you're on West Coast time, but for me, who I have to work, obviously early morning, after, you know, seven o'clock eight that seven 30 start was was top last night, because I don't think I have done uploading the show and
- 4:24[SPEAKER_04]: Good luck and hopefully you do have a quality sound mattress after in Western New York if you're watching these, these savers after dark cams that will be soon coming up in this big this big road trip.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_04]: Would you say, you know, we'll get into this too, but would you say this is the most important road trip of the season already?
- 4:44[SPEAKER_04]: I think it is.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, 100% and also given that this is the exact time period where the season unraveled last year,
- 4:52[SPEAKER_02]: I think they have a point to prove not only to themselves, but to the league that they need to be taken seriously.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_02]: This is the best version of their roster that they've had probably all season long, even though Kesselbring won't join on this trip.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was reported earlier.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_02]: It still is the healthiest they've been in the entire season.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_02]: So it looks like tomorrow night, I think I saw from practice today that Colton Ellis had his own net at practice, which is usually an indication that he was getting the most reps. And he's going to be the starter tomorrow night against the flyers on the road, which I'm not necessarily surprised by because he's performed relatively well aside from the flames game.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_02]: which the whole team was horrible.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_02]: So I'll let's get to the net tomorrow night.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_02]: And then the next game would be Friday in Winnipeg.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_02]: And it'll likely either be, I don't know, depending who knows.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_02]: Let's say Colton Ellis goes out there.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_02]: It has a great game on Wednesday.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't be surprised if he started doing Friday.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_02]: That's kind of how this is going.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_04]: I would check the connection on your mic there.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_04]: Herles is coming a little staticy.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_04]: I see if maybe you get on plug a plug
- 6:07[SPEAKER_04]: that'll help you definitely come in our coming a little sketchy there.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I totally agree with you.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_04]: You're right that this was a time that the train went off the rails for the Sabres last season.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_04]: You know, obviously, you know, Thanksgiving.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_04]: This month between Thanksgiving and Christmas time that's good like, you know, measuring, measuring, and for where you're gonna be, you know, obviously,
- 6:34[SPEAKER_04]: You know, the Olympics are also right around the quarter two, where you're also going to like as a GM you almost get like two trade deadlines right you get the one where they put through the roster freeze heading into the Olympic break and then you have obviously the trade deadline is well, you know, as a GM is a good time to kind of feel where your team is at and what adjustments you'll have to make.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_04]: And again, the sabers have proven that they can skate with some of the best teams in the league, you know, they beat Carolina, they beat the wild, they had that win last night, like they're beat, they can beat good teams, they can skate with good teams and just what a brother fresh air it is to have, what hopefully will continue to be a healthy Josh Norris in this lineup and I get, I don't know what they're going to do with the center position if that is going to be the line rider, dying no matter what, you know, Lini does like to mix up lines, but he seems to love.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_04]: Looks for any excuse to keep a tape on the wing.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_04]: What, I don't want to agree with that.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_04]: I know you don't, but we'll see how this goes.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_04]: Your thoughts, where do you, where do you, for this to be a successful road trip?
- 7:45[SPEAKER_04]: How many points do you need, do you need to see them come out with?
- 7:49[SPEAKER_02]: Testing one, two, three, you hear me?
- 7:51[SPEAKER_04]: much better.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_02]: Okay cool.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_02]: I was talking about it a little bit with people online earlier.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_02]: I think a successful road trip is 7 of 12 points.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_02]: A
- 8:04[SPEAKER_02]: You're staying a live road trip is six of seven of 12 or more.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_02]: And then you're still in the conversation is six of 12.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_02]: So you're staying right around 500, your at least like keeping your head above water.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_02]: Any five points or less on this road trip?
- 8:23[SPEAKER_02]: I believe.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_02]: they'll be on their way up.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_02]: That's kind of how this has gone the past few years where they have this midseason wall that if they only get two of the six games or they went to and they lose another one and over time or yeah and that some combination.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_02]: I would like to see seven or more from a healthy lineup against a relatively easy stretch of teams.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of these teams have injuries, a lot of them are underperforming.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_02]: If you look at a team like Calgary, obviously everyone was so upset about that game at home a couple of weeks ago, but it's one of the worst teams in the league.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_02]: uh... you look at a team like the jet last night they don't have kind of how about uh... they don't have their full infantry at the moment especially compared to last season uh... the flyers game will be tough tomorrow night they're a good team they've been pretty good at home there in a wildcard spot at the moment and this is the typical uh... midweek away game after a big win at home where everyone expects this savers team to come out and laying egg
- 9:29[SPEAKER_02]: Hopefully they all recognize that because they've been on this this type of stretch this season though they'll win a big game or they're went they'll win two games in a row and then they'll come out the next night, so hopefully that gives them some motivation going into tomorrow's tomorrow night specifically.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_02]: And of course, you got to look at it in the scope of a six game road trip, but if I'm them, of course, you're aware of the standings, Lindi is said before that he's got the standings in the locker room.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_02]: I think you look at it tomorrow night.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_02]: If you successfully, in any way, whether it's regulation over time or shoot out, get two points tomorrow night.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_02]: That should be considered a success.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_02]: It's your first three game win streak of the season.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_02]: You have your health, he has line up that you have in a while.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that would be four or five or four or six four of the last six, that, in my opinion, would be a great stepping stone to start the road trip, go into it and have a little ball juggling forward.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and, you know,
- 10:28[SPEAKER_04]: The flyers are coming off a tough loss last night to the Pittsburgh penguins that who, you know, you know, somehow even with all the, you know, the aging players on that team, they're somehow, you know, having the season that they're having, how about sitting, not to step away from the savers, how about Sydney Crosby with 18 goals and 25 games right now at 38 years old.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_02]: And one, one dive and one, in my opinion, purposeful hit to take out Dalline in the game they put against the Sabers.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_02]: I got, I caught the vitriol of the Penguin's fan base online during that game.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_02]: I, uh, I didn't know there was a Beyonce like Sydney Cross behind out there, but I, I tweeted something along the lines of like, oh, the golden boys are always going to get his calls
- 11:18[SPEAKER_02]: they'll get, he'll get them to the end of the end of time.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_02]: And I also mentioned the VFBI.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_02]: That was such a bad idea to, oh my god.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, probably the wrong organization to mention at the moment.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_02]: Please don't, please don't come for me.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_02]: Please don't come for me, FBI.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_02]: But I mentioned the FBI to arrest Sidney Crosby.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_02]: And people got really upset.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_02]: whatever, but going on doesn't matter.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's a great player is going to go.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I don't wish insanity that he's not five players.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_02]: Not five player ball time.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_04]: No doubt.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_04]: Um, and I think even Gratsky was on record, maybe I could be wrong or I could say he thinks I crossed.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_04]: He's better way better than he ever was.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I think I mean, he plays a different game, but yeah, I would say that the the the scope of his game as a complete player is probably a better all around player.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_04]: I'd say I agree, but on pace for 57 goals at age 38, which and he just hit
- 12:20[SPEAKER_04]: I pointed out that what's the most insane thing about that or no, no, I'm sorry six time he hit no It was that's over 17 hundred points, but he hit goal
- 12:32[SPEAKER_04]: 640th whatever it was to to move up on the all-time list, which insane to me that he has that many goals and he's closing it on 700 goals.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_04]: He could hit it, you know, because he's probably going to play at least one more season.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_04]: But the fact that he's only scored 50 goals in his career one time.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_04]: Like, that's insanity to me.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_04]: Like, you would think there's probably a couple of 50 goals, season sprint dope, only one.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_04]: The guy has been consistently, though, like, 25 to 30 plus goals score.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_04]: Every single year of his career just about, I mean, minus probably some short and seasons.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_04]: But like, that's him, he is an insane stat, that the guy has only scored 51 to this entire career.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm surprised by that too, but at the same time, I don't, I don't think of Sidney Krauseby as a goldscorer either.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_02]: I think of him as the guy that gets to the corner, creates a turnover, has eyes in the back of his head, always knows where to be, always knows where his teammates are.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_02]: He has made guys careers.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_02]: Chris Cunitz became an NHL player or became a very good NHL player.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_02]: because of Sydney Crosby.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_02]: You can think of a guy like Connor Sherry.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_02]: You can think of a guy like Jake Gensel.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of these guys careers were made specifically because of Sydney Crosby.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_02]: But this is a Savers podcast.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_02]: We don't need to talk about that criminal.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_04]: No, no, no.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_04]: I understand Savers podcast, but it's just like, I hate obviously the die of that, you know, and what happened to him in Daly, but at the same time, it's just like,
- 14:07[SPEAKER_04]: it's it's incredible that we've lived in a generation that has had guys like crossbee and hovetskin and make david and just like just be on the watch those guys their entire careers is something so it's pretty remarkable and you're Mike is your Mike is going a little walk you again again Jesus yeah it's got to be the court man I'm telling you please move on to the next topic no I move on to the next topic anyways
- 14:35[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you know, Pittsburgh coming off a big win over Philadelphia just last night.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_04]: So you guys imagine Philly who's 14 and eight right now and with some loser points sprinkle in that, you know, they're going to be coming probably, you know, pretty pissed off to start this road trip.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_04]: But I look at that schedule that Buffalo has you have you have you have
- 15:04[SPEAKER_04]: personally with the way they're playing, and I just have zero confidence at all in Philly's goal-tending that we could easily, I should say the word easily, but you can come out there with six out of six points.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_02]: I think in the next three games.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, it's not out of a realm of possibility, but is this team showing us anything to this
- 15:31[SPEAKER_04]: No, but I think that we're, you know, cue the Josh Norris effect.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_04]: I think that matters so much more than people might realize.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_02]: I will say, I was just looking at Philly's goaly stats.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_02]: Dan Fledar is actually had a really good year.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_04]: Is he playing well?
- 15:50[SPEAKER_04]: Because I remember seeing some stats on like Eerson and their numbers were awful.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so air, air since not great, but depending on who starts tomorrow night, Vladars 10, 5 and 1 with a 259 and a 906, so not terrible, not terrible.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, I, I would say anything under 275 and over 900 in today's NHL, especially for like a non-star goalie.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_02]: That's pretty good.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_02]: And even their their forwards, they're getting contributions from a lot of guys and a guy who many people might not expect to be leading them in points.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_02]: Based upon his trajectory the past couple years and all of the talk and all of the bullshit.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_02]: What a third round pick.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_02]: Trevor Ziegres 25 points and 25 games.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_02]: Nine goals and 16 assists to lead the team in points by five points.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_04]: uh... it's pretty pretty remarkable um... i would have loved to ever see her i was right there with you man i i just i never really understood the hate like people thought he was soft because he smiled and had fun a lot you know what i mean and he thought i think the word the word soft gets thrown around way too often
- 17:02[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't around by people who have never played hockey.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_02]: And I just think that you have to look at a player for what he can offer and figure out especially with his pedigree and his body of work.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_02]: How he can fit your roster and how he can help you rather than being like, oh, he's too pretty.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, not old school NHL.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_02]: You know what of who would have hated Trevor's egress?
- 17:27[SPEAKER_02]: The after the whistle guys.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_02]: They would have been like, oh, that's not that much type of guy we need me while meanwhile he's leading the flyers and points in there in a wild card spot.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_02]: Gonna take some heat for that one.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_02]: I don't care, man.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_02]: It's ridiculous.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_02]: I love it guys guys get reputations way too early and unjustifiably Based upon like a perception of them rather than looking at what skills and what they can offer right Trevor Zegres is an unbelievable playmaker so talent So he has been since his like
- 18:02[SPEAKER_02]: Two years before his draft year, do you remember that world junior classic where but prior to the championship game, he was in Canada and he did an interview.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_02]: In the lobby of their arena, he was like, yeah, we're going to go in, we're going to get into the corners, we're going to take the Paco way and we're going to beat him at their own game and we're going to win and they want to nothing and he had to assist in the game like that is that is Trevor's egress to a T he'll talk shit he'll do up no look behind the back pass he'll flip a pass over the net to sunny Milano in Buffalo who batted it out of the air like I just think that I don't know.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_04]: It's frustrating and it's I still think that was a high stick, but that happened live on ESPN and there's no chance will go away.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_04]: That was getting burned.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was close enough that it was too hard to prove that it was a high stick.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it could it could have won either way.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_04]: I just remember vividly that I just like I remember just watching it's like there's just that's a high stick.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_02]: that way and I'd like to address what I'd like to address one comment without getting into the discussion that we got into last night.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_02]: John I forget the rest of his username.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_02]: I acknowledge that you've played hockey and that a lot of people do think going power soft.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_02]: That's fine.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_02]: I think that I wouldn't necessarily call him soft.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_02]: I would call him
- 19:29[SPEAKER_02]: unaware and undeveloped to the point in his own zone.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_02]: I don't necessarily think he's a soft player.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's a very good player in many aspects of his game that people don't acknowledge.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_02]: And people have this perception of him.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_02]: And anytime he does something remotely wrong, that factors into this conversation around home power.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_02]: But no, I don't think he's a soft player personally.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_04]: We disagree.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_04]: I think he's a very soft player.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_04]: The thing that the things that you're asking him to do physically are like, you're not asking to do the things you're seeing misty as Samus and do this season I guess I think they're like he's he's not necessarily a physical player, but I don't necessarily think that makes makes him soft right those are you don't have to be a physical player though to just use your size.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no, and I get that, but I also didn't do that.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_02]: I also think he uses his skating ability really well.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_02]: And I think he uses his length and he uses his gap control in a way that he's not as bad, especially on rushes and gap control like at the blue line.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's pretty good.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_02]: So, I don't know, people that don't trust me.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_04]: There are parts of his game that are good.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_04]: Really good.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_04]: When you get red line and in in your own end,
- 20:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, I mean, I mean, I guess I'm addressing like one aspect of what people consider about evaluating an defenseman.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_02]: I think his puck retrievals are really good.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's great at break out passes.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's got a gap control coming into the defensive zone and limiting guys on rushes, especially given how good a skater he is.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_02]: Especially going backwards and yeah, he could use his eyes a little bit more.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_02]: He could use a little bit more physicality and he needs to be better in front of his own that But I think we need to acknowledge the entire profile and Obviously the point aren't necessarily coming at the moment, but he's creating chances So I don't know I think it's a new arc of your microclones going on while I think as you could your movement around and so that might be at because you're holding the mic
- 21:38[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_04]: We do have a question for you, herles in the chat from John.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_04]: Herles as a goalie, would you want power in front of you, purely from a defensive perspective, not offensive?
- 21:49[SPEAKER_02]: Are we talking beer league or what are we talking?
- 21:52[SPEAKER_04]: If you're, if you're playing in the national hockey league, if you're there, if you, if you're living the dream, you made the show.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think I think I would say that beyond it.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, at this current moment, he needs to be better.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_02]: Can you hear me?
- 22:09[SPEAKER_02]: I can hear you, yes.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_02]: At this current moment, I've even said it last night.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_02]: Like he needs to be better.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_02]: I think we've all acknowledged that.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_02]: But to say that I wouldn't want him on my team.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_02]: No, I want him on my team.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_04]: No, I'm the saying, I'll add on to his question.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_04]: Two minutes left in the game.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_04]: You're defending a lead.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_04]: Dileens out of the game.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_02]: out there defending a one goal lead.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I've, I said it last night and I'll say it again.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's been the third best defenseman on the team this year.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_02]: So I think I want Samuel Sinon and, and, and power.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I do.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_02]: because I'm taking them and so I'm taking them.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_02]: And that's in that situation and that's a situation.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_02]: Sam Wilson's going to be in front of the net and power will be in the corner to hopefully use his length and his skill to take away passing lanes to retrieve the puck to get it down the ice.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_02]: I in my humble opinion, I think it should be Sam Wilson and power on the ice personally.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, man, you're getting sport on, then that's a thing.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you can point to the Pittsburgh, uh, you can point to the Pittsburgh.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_04]: It's not just the Pittsburgh.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_02]: No, but like, what time is this?
- 23:26[SPEAKER_02]: Let me know, like, like, I know it's tough in these situations, but can you think of another?
- 23:32[SPEAKER_02]: at least recently in the past few weeks, specifically a play in front of his own net where he has been grossly unaware or grossly soft as people say as he often gets criticized about.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_02]: I personally can't.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_04]: I personally can't.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_04]: I just can't remember.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_04]: In some words, I just remember screaming at the TV when happened.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_04]: Um, and that's kind of a favorite frame which game.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_02]: And that's why.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, and it has happened, but for the criticism and the vitriol for it to be as loud as it is, I think there should be more examples of it rather than people hanging other examples of it.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_04]: I think I think just.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_04]: Here's why, I think here's why the Pittsburgh play was so polarizing is because even the analytics talking has, we're coming out of like the people who are adamant Owen power defenders.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I would, I would, I would, I would.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_04]: This is bad.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_04]: That plays not polarizing, that play was just bad.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I say polarizing to the point where you made the the most adamant Owen power defenders come out like, yeah, that's bad, that this keeps happening like Chad, for instance, like Chad flat out said, I mean, that he was over him and he literally broke that down that plate on said he literally watches him skate in the
- 25:02[SPEAKER_02]: And I'll give you the three on three over time defending.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_02]: He's been in a couple of situations that have also been pretty bad this year.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_02]: But I will also say that defending in three on three over time from a team perspective has been really bad too.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_02]: like a lot a lot of these guys just have not known what to do in those situations which also comes down to coaching like if those guys aren't prepared for a situation that very well could happen in any given game like that's got to that's got to change right and we can complain about coaching of the seam until the cows come home but
- 25:34[SPEAKER_02]: I think that, yeah, it just needs to be better all around.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_02]: Quickly, on the topic of defense, I saw, I think the Sabre report tweeted out today, and also a few other people just specifically related to Dallene's numbers since he's returned, which I think that was that, that game in Detroit.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was November 15th.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_02]: His expected goal share, his, I think he has eight assists in nine games since he's returned.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_02]: His expected goal share and in terms of the chances for the team while he's on the ice and chances against are all extremely positive and I know people,
- 26:14[SPEAKER_02]: don't necessarily always follow analytics but like if you look at a graph of it, it's as if it's like a steep climb up Everest.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_02]: So it appears that he's kind of turned a corner in terms of how he's controlling play while he's on the ice, which is the best possible sign for the entire team.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, I mean, again, like you said, it's like kind of all relative but
- 26:41[SPEAKER_04]: Going back and kind of back on topic for we veered off obviously at the comments with with the own power stuff.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_04]: This road trip.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_04]: We talk about the three goalie rotation.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_04]: Lindi kind of alluded today while being interviewed that a roster decision is going to be made fairly soon.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_04]: They can't carry six defensemen, uh, just six defensemen on this road trip.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_04]: There's no way.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_04]: You have to have a seventh guy.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_04]: So somebody kind of has to get sent down or some move has to be made, right?
- 27:13[SPEAKER_04]: And I'm going to see if I can find it, um, the exact quote, but your opinion, obviously we we're we're pretty much.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_04]: Assuming, or pretty much being told that Ellis is starting tomorrow against Philly, how do they handle this three goalie rotation?
- 27:29[SPEAKER_04]: Throughout this road trip, because again, they don't come back to Buffalo until December 18th, ironically again against, you know, the Philadelphia Flyers at home, but how do you handle this?
- 27:41[SPEAKER_02]: I have no idea how they're gonna handle it.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_02]: And I would say that it's probably gonna be something similar to how they've done all year, but I don't feel confident about that.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_02]: I think Elis gets the game tomorrow night.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_02]: If he plays well, there's a chance he plays Friday.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_02]: They're not gonna start in three games in a row, and at that point it'd be like a week and a half since line started, so maybe you go back to line, but it seems like they've really forced, not forced, but they've elected to start UPO a lot recently.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_02]: So I wouldn't be surprised if you got the game after that, and then I think there's only one back to back, which is the Edmonton and Calgary Games that's on day and Tuesday.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, I think it, and that would make the first four games of the Rocher.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think you're going to see all three goalies in the first four games.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't know what combination.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, if I...
- 28:33[SPEAKER_02]: I know it sucks and it's super frustrating, but that's just kind of what the situation is at this point.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_02]: So it's not even worth groveling about, I think eventually they're going to have to make a decision.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_02]: But at this current moment, they're rolling with it.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_02]: And if it's keeping these guys fresh, someone argue that it's not that it's taking guys out of a rhythm.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's kind of a two-way street, right?
- 28:57[SPEAKER_02]: at points, they're all playing well, but at other points, they're all not playing well.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's just more of a goal-tending conversation that if just generally needs to be more consistent.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_02]: Because the defense, the team defense, I saw other numbers today that showed that, they're actually relatively good this year compared to the rest of the league.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_02]: I think they're 13th in the league and expected goals against, which is not bad at all, but the goal-tending needs to improve.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_02]: and also the finishing in the power play to just generally help out the entire team picture.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, you go with Alice tomorrow night and then depending on how we play, I guess you see for Friday.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_04]: Are you still using your microphone or are you using the laptop now?
- 29:42[SPEAKER_04]: He's in the microphone.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe you just disconnect the microphone for now and just use the laptop audio.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_04]: I think that's what you get.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_04]: I think that's the route you got to go right now because it's good for like five minutes and then it just goes static again.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not sure, I'm maybe I'm only one hearing.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not sure if our listeners can hear that.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_04]: Perfect now.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_04]: Perfect now.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_04]: So I got the I got the the quotes pulled up from Monday today.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_04]: Linear off to the savers will need to add another defenseman to the roster, but they may not be what until they had to win a peg.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_04]: Michael Custlering won't join the team on the trip.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_04]: He'll continue to rehab skate in Buffalo.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_04]: They currently only have six to
- 30:28[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, Jacob Bryson obviously is already up, you know, how are they going to, like, is this a trade?
- 30:35[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, are they going to add this defenseman via trade?
- 30:38[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, we saw, we saw, you know, Jason here in the chat, could we see a UPL and Ryan Johnson for Jake
- 30:47[SPEAKER_04]: because that the wallman name has been thrown over out.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_04]: Obviously, UPL's name has been attached to Edmonton through other talksabers talking heads.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_04]: But I think it was Ellie Friedman said that the sabers didn't seem like they were inclined on moving UPL at that time.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_04]: But like, I mean, you cannot, with obviously a road trip like this being this far away from home, you know,
- 31:12[SPEAKER_04]: It's not like he just fly a guy out on a whim and expect him to be game ready, you know, on a road trip like this.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_04]: So you want to bring another guy with you, is this going to happen via trade because I mean, it really said the reality is, if you, if you, if you were going to have a guy come from Rochester, you would have just kept jackments up right like you would have been here with you.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, maybe or like you said, like it could be Ryan Johnson.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, in season trades are tough, they really are, and I'd be shocked personally.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't think it's going to happen.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_02]: And I think it's more than likely going to be, they're just trying somebody new.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_02]: Like, they had mats up for a little bit.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_02]: I would say the most likely possibility is Ryan Johnson.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_04]: I would think, right?
- 32:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but I don't know.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe I crazed you things of happened, right?
- 32:04[SPEAKER_02]: Like, they've got a lot of prospects.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_02]: They've got a lot of picks.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_02]: And they have three goalies.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_02]: And it doesn't look like they're going to be trading either Alex Lyon or Colnales.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_02]: So if it is UPL, then so be it.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I think a lot of people would be happy.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_04]: I mean,
- 32:22[SPEAKER_04]: Again, I think I'm as podcast we've been pretty critical of UPL myself particularly, but like in the day, just want to win.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_04]: I don't care who's in that.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_04]: I just want to win hockey games.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_04]: I don't care if it's fucking safer to than that, you know, during the like, you know, I don't care just win hockey games.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_04]: he would have to be a hundred percent so there's already an injury that might be lingering to a guy that you know you depend to take some take face-offs and has been particularly pretty successful in the face-off circle so I don't know man I uh for me it's like what I don't know Ryan Johnson he's a
- 33:21[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, you'd want to bring exact months or was a right-handish out the funds for it.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_04]: It would have made sense to keep him up.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, maybe.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_02]: So if that's, if that's an indication of trade is coming, by all means, I think it would inject some life into this organization.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, talk about the the play of Josh Donne, Josh Donne has been not just a breath of fresh air, but just, you know, instantly turning to a fan favorite, you know, we saw it and we talked about it last night.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_04]: There's been a lot of narrative, especially today on social media about the the JJ Patirka trade and Josh Donne, like I've started, I had this conversation earlier today at work, like I think the savers might have won that trade on Josh Donne alone.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I just, I think that if you're just comparing those two players.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's kind of an even swap, right?
- 34:15[SPEAKER_02]: Like, the mammoth got what they wanted in finishing goal scoring and rest chances.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_02]: And the savers got what they wanted in playmaking, defensive responsibility, and tough nose for checking.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_02]: So, that singular aspect of it can be a win for both sides.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_02]: I don't necessarily think you need to go into the weeds of being like, oh, Josh Jones,
- 34:40[SPEAKER_02]: a better player than JJ Paturka, Paturka's better than Josh Stone, they're very different players.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_02]: So it doesn't have to be this direct comparison because you can't do that.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_02]: I think each team identified that they needed more of something else and they had a conversation and what out and got it.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_02]: But the fact that you add a potential second pair long-term, big, physical, defensively
- 35:09[SPEAKER_02]: and Michael Castle ring, to that deal, I think it makes it obviously shift a little bit more in the savers end.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_02]: But the concept, obviously everyone says, when the trade won the trade won the trade, that's only a thing to fans.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_02]: Like GMs don't think about whether they won the trade or not.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_02]: They think about whether the guys that they got help them won game, win games.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_02]: So,
- 35:32[SPEAKER_02]: Josh Jones currently has been a big factor in helping the Sabers win games, and if you continue to do that, and obviously it's great that he's a fan favorite in people love him.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_02]: I think Alex Stock when he first came over after the Jack Ikel deal.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_02]: He was automatically a fan frader, of course, been very in the connection to the organization and to the community, but
- 35:53[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to naturally happen, even look at Ryan McCall, like people were frustrated with how many similar prospects that the Sabers were accruing, and they went out and got a guy who was different than Matthew Zavoy.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_02]: uh... same thing with ball environment case in middle stat they had a lot of skilled forward that weren't necessarily but the best defensively and they went out and got a defenseman who playing with dalleen he was amazing playing without dalleen not so much but you know he can give you some offence of upside here and they're just like we saw last night with his goal on the rush to make it to nothing which turned out to be the game wouldn't go
- 36:30[SPEAKER_02]: So, yeah, I do commend Kevin Adams in the sense that he's made some legitimately good hockey trades, and I think he's at least thrown a few darts at the board to be in a very tough situation that the savers are not being able to acquire free agents and a lot of players in the league having them on their no trade list.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_04]: Um, Alex talk contract conversations.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_04]: He was on Saber's live today.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_04]: Um, kind of talking about it.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_04]: He didn't really necessarily like avoid the question, but, you know, kind of played the whole.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just focused on hockey, uh, routine, you know, we have a lot of games coming up, just focused on getting wins.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_04]: Um, he says, we're playing every other day.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_04]: I've talked to my agent.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_04]: I haven't talked to my agent days.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_04]: I
- 37:16[SPEAKER_04]: Actually, let me let me see if I can pull this whole thing up real quick Personally, I've been focused on hockey.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_04]: We're playing every other day.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_04]: I haven't talked to my agent in days or I don't even know when the last time I talked to him and honestly I don't know where I don't I just know that there are conversations I mean I don't know what their rumors are Anything I stay away from those, but I'm just worried about playing hockey helping my team win in any way possible
- 37:44[SPEAKER_04]: Given the season he's having, obviously, I think that fans would like to probably have seen a little more consistency at Alex talk.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_04]: It got especially again, considering the contract demands, the comparables, what you're hearing from suit and talking heads and the money that he wants.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_04]: Again, we continue to probably go back to the Adrian Camp Bay comparison, like they're literally having the same season right now.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_04]: He just got paid like it was like 10.6 whatever it is per season.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_04]: I think fans will be fine with that number because I get it a few years.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_04]: That's like 8% of your total cap.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_04]: So it's not that bad of a number and the grand scheme of things.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_04]: Especially when you're paying to age like under $8 million a season.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_04]: You know, that's fine by me.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_04]: But where do you see this right now?
- 38:34[SPEAKER_04]: If the sabers are trucking along and they're pushing for a playoff spot, that does become a difficult decision for a guy like probably honestly the most difficult decision he's ever had to make as a GM because you don't want to lose Alex talked for nothing.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_04]: And I know we're having this conversation 20 or 20 something games into the season, but as a conversation I think that's worth having.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_04]: Like, what do you do if you're Kevin Adams?
- 39:06[SPEAKER_02]: Hmm, well, I guess that conversation comes down to other Kevin Adams is going to be making that decision.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_02]: I think it depends on where the team is at the Olympic break, where they are in the standings.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_02]: If they are out of the race, I think that Yermo is likely making that decision.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you know.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_02]: that Kevin Adams on the last chair of his deals on his way out or already out.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_02]: So I think it is a conversation that necessarily be had in that sense at this point because we don't know where the team is going to be.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_02]: But for all the talk of Alex Stockby and consistent, he needed to step it up.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_02]: So a lot of chatter on that, especially throughout November.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_02]: leads to team points at this current moment.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_02]: He's got 23 points in 26 games.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_02]: He obviously has a four-sis game in there, the other night during the Blackhawks.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_02]: In the route, which kind of weighs it a little bit, but I was just looking at his game box.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_02]: There's only been a few games where he can point to where he did nothing.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, I think that he has come on as of late.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_02]: He's playing a closer style of game to the Elixir stuff that we're used to.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_02]: And he's been unbelievable on the panelly killing.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_02]: Like he's like honestly a top three penalty killer in the league is the best one of the best probably colors in the league and he's on the best penalty kill in the league which is largely the best penalty kill in the league because of both him and McLeod and Sam Wilson.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_02]: So I just think that he's got all the leverage in the world and I think he knows that and I think the Sabers know that.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_02]: So
- 40:48[SPEAKER_02]: I think they're really truly focusing on getting in a position to stay in contention to hopefully make the playoffs.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's the best possible situation for everybody.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_02]: If Alex talk is close to the team lead, team lead in points, he's going to make 10.5 11 million per year.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_02]: If they fall off in December on this road trip in January up until the
- 41:16[SPEAKER_02]: then he's likely a trade candidate.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's really hard to say.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I tend to agree with you because, you know, we mentioned before you.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_04]: I'm assuming there's going to be a roster freeze hiding in the Olympics.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_04]: Like GMs do get to essentially to to trade deadlines here.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_04]: And like a mini trade deadline, obviously, heading into Olympic break and the trade deadline itself.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_04]: I think there is a realistic chance that to your point if the season does kind of go off the rails on this road trip.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_04]: And maybe you finally do get that hard decision that needs to be made.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_04]: I shouldn't, it honestly shouldn't be hard about changing to Yama's mid-season.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_04]: And having that guy already wait in the wings waiting in your mochaic online.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_04]: which I'm still trying to figure out what exactly he does as a senior advisor.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_04]: But listen, like, I think there's a real estate chance that after the Olympic break, Alex talk is no longer a Buffalo Saber.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I do really believe it depends on where they are.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_04]: So I guess we'll see.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_04]: We do have one last question here before we get to our final thoughts.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_04]: What do you think you know, don't invent and contracts could look like,
- 42:35[SPEAKER_04]: Hmm, it's a good question.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what a relative figure would be at this moment.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_02]: I think we have this discussion yesterday about how Dallene got a bridge deal, how Sam Ryan Hart probably never should have gotten a bridge deal, but he did a lot of guys have gotten bridge deals.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_02]: I think Benson will be 21, 22.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_02]: I think Dallene is probably
- 43:03[SPEAKER_02]: 20, 23, 24, let's see how old he is.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_02]: He is 23 in turns 24 February, February 1st.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_02]: So, yeah, I mean, I think those guys are
- 43:18[SPEAKER_02]: focal points of what you want in your organization, right?
- 43:21[SPEAKER_02]: Like they play the game the same way.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_02]: They're very good playmakers.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously Benson hasn't proved he can be a goldscore at this point in his career yet, but I do think that's coming.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_02]: I would say hopefully somewhere at least three years for each guy potentially more.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_02]: I mean,
- 43:39[SPEAKER_02]: if we're talking about who matters more, I would put them at very similar levels.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_02]: I really would.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_02]: Like if you can get five or six years out of each guy at six or seven million per, I would take that in a heartbeat.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_04]: I,
- 43:56[SPEAKER_04]: We've only gotten such a small sample size so far of Josh don't and obviously there was a lot of criticism when that tray was made right because Castlering it was and it probably still is like the centerpiece of that deal, but you know, there was so many things that were kind of like unknowns about Josh don't that we've been able to see firsthand and kind of like proven the haters wrong or if you want to call him haters.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_04]: If there's two players, I feel a very confident, not name Rasmus Dileen giving them long-term extensions this early in the year.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_04]: I think I'm going to say Zach Benson and Josh Donut because they leave it all on the ice every single game and you never question anything when it comes to effort with them.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_04]: I think they're a very high character hockey players.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_04]: Zach Benson is just a war hog.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_04]: like literally he does he instigates he agitate he can he is yet to score a goal but once he does start scoring goals I think he'll think he'll start to go on a tear but like he does everything right and plays the game it's way it's supposed to be played especially for his side and then Josh don't a guy who does a lot of the same things and just has good hand I think he has sneaky
- 45:10[SPEAKER_04]: knows blue collar game on I hate using those words because there's such like buzzwords and clichés sayings but like it's so true like he plays that style of hockey and he plays the way you this team needs to play in order to win hockey games you know it's far lack of a better way of saying it because you're not going to have the you're not going to win with I'm a team just on like finesse like if anything like you need a score like the way what how many goals have you seen out of like I think
- 45:39[SPEAKER_04]: where they finesse goals.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I mean, yeah, not many.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_04]: They're all right in front of the net.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's how they're going to win games this season.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_04]: And I have no reservations at all of giving him a long-term deal, none whatsoever.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_02]: It's crazy to say that because like last season, he played 51 games for the Utah hockey club.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_02]: He had 19 points in 51 games.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_02]: In 26 games for the savers in season, he is 18 points.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_02]: So he's almost surpassed his total from last year with Utah.
- 46:15[SPEAKER_02]: And obviously he's in a much bigger role with the savers.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_02]: He's on the top line a lot of nights, not anymore, but he's on the top powerplay unit, which he likely never was with.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_02]: So if he's shown that given a larger responsibility that he can not only handle it, but thrive in it.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, I'd have to agree, you'd like to see a little bit more and him to continue to produce consistently, but yeah, I'd love to see five six years deals for each of these guys with no doubt about it at least five million potentially more.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_04]: And we talked about that last night, like when when, you know, you talk about like kind of hating on players that have left awful on the way they left like.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_04]: You talk about Josh Don and the oper- like he's getting the same opportunities here that we gave puttica to start his career.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_04]: You know what I mean?
- 47:05[SPEAKER_04]: It's almost kind of like.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_04]: similar situations, right?
- 47:09[SPEAKER_04]: Like he wasn't granted.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_04]: Obviously, Patrica, this is the team he started with.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_04]: You never had nothing to compare it to, but like he's getting the same opportunities we gave to JJ Patrica.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_04]: And he's thriving in those situations.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, I've loved it, man.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_04]: I've loved, I've loved everything.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_04]: I've seen from Josh to own, like, you know, if I've
- 47:27[SPEAKER_04]: I'm starting to become very anti bi-Jewsies, but I think I feel comfortable giving the opportunity to buy a Josh Stone jersey.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_04]: I think that'd be an easy, easy kind of current swipe, no doubt about it.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_04]: We're going to kick it right back to our sponsors here.

- 49:36[SPEAKER_02]: I want to say her cues that people don't know.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_02]: And they just beat number 13, Tennessee, which is probably their biggest win in a long time.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_02]: But it's in hockey.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_02]: No, in basketball.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I'm sorry.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_04]: Sorry, that's where they don't have a D1.
- 49:48[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sorry that I'm talking about this.
- 49:49[SPEAKER_02]: But like, oh, like a very prominent,
- 49:52[SPEAKER_02]: Division one basketball program won a national course yet all four years.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_02]: I was there we were number run rank number one at one point once upon a four twice.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_02]: This is a very proud basketball program and they just be their seven and one they just be number 13 Tennessee and the fans storm the court like what are you doing?
- 50:12[SPEAKER_02]: Like what is going on?
- 50:15[SPEAKER_04]: Dan store the court after beating who again number 13 Tennessee and bucket storm the court.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_02]: I get no no no no.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_02]: This is where I draw.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_02]: This is where I draw the line that's okay.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_02]: That's a big win, but you do not storm the court for beating number 13 Tennessee as a very like proud basketball program.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_02]: Like that is that soft in my
- 50:41[SPEAKER_04]: All right, all right, man.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, man.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_02]: I just saw that and I got fired up.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but either way, um, sticking with other Western New York, uh, sports coming up.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, yeah.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_02]: This is a big, big road check for the flavors and I am hopeful for eight of 12 points.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_02]: I actually, I think I went through earlier and I I'll give a prediction for what I think is going to happen.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_02]: I have a game by game prediction.
- 51:09[SPEAKER_02]: And let's see if it actually comes to fruition, not only potentially over time losses, over time wins, but this is what I have and let's see how close I am.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_04]: And so you want, you said seven points out of 12 to be successful, but yeah, predict the road trip real quick.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, I would like eight, that would be ideal.
- 51:32[SPEAKER_02]: So I think they get the wind tomorrow night.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_02]: I think they'll be motivated by trying to get a three-game winch trick for the first time this season, personally.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_02]: There is healthiest they've been.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_02]: I think Philadelphia's good, but not that good.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_02]: And I think coming off the momentum of last night,
- 51:50[SPEAKER_02]: And in a typical spot where you think they'd have a let down, I think they could get a wind around.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_02]: I, whether that be, I'm not predicting a regulation when, but whether that be in regulation over time or shootout.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_02]: I think they get two points for it.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_02]: At Winnipeg, I set over time loss, strictly because seeing the same team twice in one week is tough and I think that team is still really talented and pretty good at home and I think they'll be able to respond and at least getting a point out of a game like that could be a good thing to get.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_02]: At Calgary, I'm going to say they win that game.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_02]: I think they're letting me do that.
- 52:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you have to number one, but I think they're let down against Calgary a couple weeks ago, probably stuck with them.
- 52:36[SPEAKER_02]: And I think they directly responded to that loss with those, those two games that I was at.
- 52:41[SPEAKER_02]: The 93 win against Black Cox and also the 4 to 1 win against the hurricane.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_02]: So, I think they win that one in regulation.
- 52:50[SPEAKER_02]: I think,
- 52:51[SPEAKER_02]: Unfortunately, it's a back-to-back in Admiton, who has been a little bit better as of late, and I think we all know the talent that Admiton has.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_04]: I think David and Dry Zatal, you know, you never tell me this guys out.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_02]: I think more than likely they lose in Admiton, and as of right now I have that as a regulation loss, knows if they are able to get it over time, but I'll put a regulation loss there.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_02]: I'm saying, they go to Vancouver who everybody knows, or at least a lot of people know, they put a lot of their guys, there's trade rumors out there, it's not necessarily the best situation at the moment.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_02]: I'm saying over time when, or shoot out when in Vancouver, they typically play while at home, and they obviously have a lot of talent, but I think they're able to sneak out two points there.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_02]: And then at Seattle, I have an over time or a shootout loss because they haven't been great in Seattle.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_02]: Seattle is a pretty good defensive team.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_02]: They're not a bad team so far this season.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_02]: But that could be a tough situation to be in.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_02]: Either way, all of that considered is eight points.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_02]: and eight points in whichever which way you get them out of 12 points in my opinion would be a success.
- 54:00[SPEAKER_02]: That's only one regulation loss, which is paramount.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_02]: And then after that, they would be 14, 12 and six with 34 total points.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_02]: So that's my official prediction.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see how close they got.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_04]: I love it.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_04]: I think you're right.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_04]: I think if they can somehow pull out eight points out of here.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_04]: Not somehow.
- 54:18[SPEAKER_04]: I think it's very possible that they can.
- 54:20[SPEAKER_04]: It's possible they can take the first three games.
- 54:23[SPEAKER_02]: And I think they need to stress even if especially against like Western conference teams trying well.
- 54:30[SPEAKER_02]: I guess it doesn't matter as much in terms of conference standings, but
- 54:33[SPEAKER_02]: Try to get that loser point no matter what.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_02]: A regulation loss is crippling at the moment, and you don't want to lose position in a middle-link eastern conference by losing in regulation.
- 54:48[SPEAKER_04]: That's a break off, but
- 54:51[SPEAKER_04]: Preds, predators are up for nothing on the flames, and what's been dubbed as the McKenna Bowl.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_04]: Flames fans are probably a static right now.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_04]: Kind of have a little PTSD.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_04]: reading that tweet right there.
- 55:06[SPEAKER_02]: So at least we're not playing in the mechanical.
- 55:09[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you know, I don't want to go through that again.
- 55:12[SPEAKER_04]: You know, if we win the lottery pick, great, if not, you know, whatever, you know, I don't want to be anywhere close to lottery pick.
- 55:18[SPEAKER_04]: That being said, guys, we will talk to you soon, potentially tomorrow night for another post game show.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_04]: But until then, as always, go sabers, we'll talk to you later.
