Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: On this best of the Bus episode, we're throwing it
- 0:02Speaker 1: back to the boy. Michael Chandler, three time bell Toor,
- 0:04Speaker 1: a lightweight world champion and one of the most electrifying
- 0:07Speaker 1: fighters in UFC history, joins us just two days after
- 0:11Speaker 1: his war Charles Oliver. Fresh off the fight. Mike breaks
- 0:14Speaker 1: down what it felt like stepping back into the cage
- 0:16Speaker 1: after two years, and he takes us through every round,
- 0:18Speaker 1: reflects on the moments he wishes he had back. He
- 0:21Speaker 1: also opens up about the pain, the pressure, and the
- 0:23Speaker 1: mindset it takes to perform on the biggest stage. This
- 0:26Speaker 1: one's raw, boys, it's inspiring, and it's full of that
- 0:29Speaker 1: classic Chandler energy and joy. Fellas. Now, ladies and gentlemen,
- 0:33Speaker 1: welcome to a bonus episode of Bust with the Boys.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Our boy, Michael Chandler, to sit with us right now.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Went to absolute war on Saturday night against Charles Oliver.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Obviously didn't go the way you wanted. But even in
- 0:47Speaker 1: a loss that you still win, dude. So let's give
- 0:50Speaker 1: a ride of a pause to the legendary Mike Chandler.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Riding applause to you guys. No place, no place I'd
- 0:55Speaker 2: rather be a touchdown in Nashville yesterday. So we've got
- 0:58Speaker 2: to get on the bus. Yeah, loser, draw, this is
- 1:00Speaker 2: where we go.
- 1:00Speaker 3: How are you feeling?
- 1:01Speaker 2: How's your body? Body is A body is jat My
- 1:05Speaker 2: heart is full. Let's talk about my heart.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Okay, heart, let's start start with the heart.
- 1:10Speaker 2: My heart is full. All right. I walked across the
- 1:12Speaker 2: threshold yesterday. Happen ace put me in tears. I'm just
- 1:15Speaker 2: happy to be home. Uh you know it was is
- 1:18Speaker 2: good had I mean, I had a phenomenal training camp.
- 1:20Speaker 2: We went to war, We did our thing. Body the
- 1:23Speaker 2: most pain I've ever been in my entire life, like
- 1:25Speaker 2: the most injuries I've ever had in a fight, for sure.
- 1:29Speaker 2: You know peede blood inflammation all over my whole body swollen.
- 1:32Speaker 2: I feel like you know, my legs blood.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Yeah, it was it like a dense color of blood
- 1:38Speaker 1: or it was like a light pain.
- 1:38Speaker 2: The first one was very light, which was in my
- 1:41Speaker 2: drug test New York drug testing me before the fight
- 1:44Speaker 2: and then after the fight, just positive. I tested positive
- 1:48Speaker 2: for blood, tested positive for going nuts. But yeah, so
- 1:56Speaker 2: they had like a light tent and then the second
- 1:57Speaker 2: one was like uh beat looking juice. It was dark
- 2:02Speaker 2: there hurt, no really, I don't, well, like what is
- 2:05Speaker 2: also my whole body hurt too? So at that point, you.
- 2:08Speaker 3: Know, starting from the pissing blood, what does that, guys?
- 2:11Speaker 3: That come from? Like a shot to the shot.
- 2:13Speaker 2: I think it's I mean, I think it's a little
- 2:14Speaker 2: bit of rabdough, you know, like rabdough myialysis or whatever
- 2:17Speaker 2: they call it.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Overworking the muscles.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like you're overworking the muscles. Your muscles secrete
- 2:21Speaker 2: blood and then your blood. You know, the doctor's out there,
- 2:24Speaker 2: don't fact check me, but it's like, you know, blood,
- 2:27Speaker 2: Their blood goes into the kidneys, slash, liver, whatever wherever
- 2:30Speaker 2: your your urine goes, and it gets trace amounts of
- 2:33Speaker 2: blood in it, where whereas mine wasn't really trace amounts.
- 2:36Speaker 2: It was a large amounts. But yeah, I've had it
- 2:38Speaker 2: before many times. Anytime you have a five minute fight
- 2:41Speaker 2: like or a five round fight like that, twenty five minutes,
- 2:45Speaker 2: even if it's an quote unquote easy twenty five minutes,
- 2:48Speaker 2: you're still hyped. Your body is doing things. You're you're
- 2:51Speaker 2: in fight or flight mode for twenty five minutes or
- 2:53Speaker 2: really thirty minutes plus plus the walk out, plus the
- 2:56Speaker 2: after plus the.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Yeah when do you think that starts to hit the
- 3:00Speaker 1: rush of like you know, you're not going to feel
- 3:01Speaker 1: pain until probably twenty four hours later. Is that the walkout?
- 3:05Speaker 1: Is that in the locker room right before you walk out?
- 3:07Speaker 1: Is it the first punch?
- 3:08Speaker 2: It's it's it's actually in the octagon. Yeah, it's like
- 3:11Speaker 2: once you're once you're in there, because I try to
- 3:12Speaker 2: stay pretty present, man. I try to stay pretty present
- 3:15Speaker 2: and pretty myself and and really just focus on being
- 3:18Speaker 2: a human being. And as soon as the cage door
- 3:20Speaker 2: closes and then Bruce is in there, it's kind of
- 3:22Speaker 2: one of those deals where it's maybe like a kickoff
- 3:24Speaker 2: or like whatever, where it's like I'm in the games
- 3:26Speaker 2: about to start, and then all of a sudden, then
- 3:27Speaker 2: you all of a sudden're running down the field or the
- 3:28Speaker 2: first play and you're like, oh, shoot, we're actually in
- 3:31Speaker 2: it now. Yeah, and then you then you start you know,
- 3:34Speaker 2: usually for me, it's it's like, oh, man, okay, here
- 3:36Speaker 2: we go. We're actually walking toward each other. Okay, there's
- 3:38Speaker 2: the five you know, there's the first handshake, we touched
- 3:40Speaker 2: each other, clocks running, we're going, and then you're like,
- 3:44Speaker 2: I'm kind of waiting to take that first punch to
- 3:46Speaker 2: be like, okay, here we are, right. Yeah, hopefully it's
- 3:49Speaker 2: not a big one. Hopefully it's just like a nice
- 3:50Speaker 2: get the first hut there.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, I always into the age old phrase,
- 3:53Speaker 1: get that first hit out of the way, feel a
- 3:55Speaker 1: whole lot better. Then your nerves are huge right before,
- 3:58Speaker 1: like all the doubts, the insecurities, the wondering, the overconfidence.
- 4:01Speaker 1: I think it's all like a flush of emotions all
- 4:04Speaker 1: at once to.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Doubt your overconfidence in I too, like, yeah, yeah, why
- 4:07Speaker 3: do I feel good?
- 4:08Speaker 1: I shouldn't feel this good? And then you start feeling
- 4:09Speaker 1: bad all of a sudden, all over yeah.
- 4:13Speaker 2: And then once you're in it, you're like, okay, now
- 4:14Speaker 2: we're in it. Now. Now the body's just doing your
- 4:17Speaker 2: training is taking over your your reaction time, your you know,
- 4:21Speaker 2: your spirit.
- 4:22Speaker 1: So before the fight, so Will and I had a
- 4:24Speaker 1: cool unique perspectives because Will was watching it over so
- 4:27Speaker 1: he was able to hear the commentators. I obviously was there.
- 4:30Speaker 1: We'll talk about all of it, but the but as
- 4:32Speaker 1: you were walking out, Will was saying that Rogan's like,
- 4:34Speaker 1: I know you're going to see a new Michael Chandler here.
- 4:37Speaker 1: I you know, I don't think, I know. Do you
- 4:39Speaker 1: think Olive Aaron knew you were going to strategically go
- 4:42Speaker 1: about this differently? If Rogan was so so clearly understood
- 4:45Speaker 1: the process.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, the funny thing was, I knew I was
- 4:47Speaker 2: going to but I also in my interviews, I didn't
- 4:50Speaker 2: I didn't want to talk about it too much. It's
- 4:52Speaker 2: like I did the whole I talked about the who
- 4:53Speaker 2: Chandler two point oh Chandler one point oh. Maybe gave
- 4:56Speaker 2: it a little bit of too much information because I still,
- 4:58Speaker 2: I honestly wanted Charles Olivera to feel like he was
- 5:01Speaker 2: fighting Michael Chandler for twenty twenty one. I wanted him
- 5:03Speaker 2: to think he was fighting the guy who fought in
- 5:05Speaker 2: my last fight against Poier in twenty twenty two. I
- 5:07Speaker 2: wanted him to think that was the guy he was fighting. Therefore,
- 5:11Speaker 2: when I switched the game plan up on him a
- 5:12Speaker 2: little bit, you know, it would be a different fight
- 5:16Speaker 2: and I throw him into a scenario. But I think, yeah,
- 5:21Speaker 2: unfortunately the word got out that I was going to
- 5:24Speaker 2: fight a little bit differently, and I, you know, and
- 5:26Speaker 2: I did, Who's Who's the rat? I mean, I think
- 5:29Speaker 2: it was I think it was me, your own rat.
- 5:31Speaker 2: I think, well, that's what I'm saying. I was like, I,
- 5:34Speaker 2: you know, but but no matter what I mean, the
- 5:36Speaker 2: narrative was, you could not hide it from the fact
- 5:38Speaker 2: that I hadn't fought for two years. You had to
- 5:40Speaker 2: talk about the Connor situation, had to talk about, you know,
- 5:42Speaker 2: the two year layoff, the training camp for Connor fighting
- 5:46Speaker 2: at one seventy different mindset gun and then going down
- 5:49Speaker 2: to one fifty five. And I was just speaking more. Yeah,
- 5:52Speaker 2: I'm just more of an open guy. I just I
- 5:54Speaker 2: want my story to be told. I want to wear
- 5:56Speaker 2: my heart on my sleeve. If I cry, I cry,
- 5:58Speaker 2: If I get mad, I get mad. I just want
- 6:00Speaker 2: to be myself and be authentically me. And in that
- 6:03Speaker 2: obviously I was just talking about my growth as a
- 6:05Speaker 2: human being over the last two years, which was you know,
- 6:08Speaker 2: hard times, tough times. You guys know, the behind the
- 6:11Speaker 2: scenes stuff as the boys of like the ups and
- 6:14Speaker 2: downs of all of it. But I grew as a
- 6:16Speaker 2: human and became a better man and fighter and athlete
- 6:18Speaker 2: because of it. And then yeah, I just wanted to
- 6:21Speaker 2: go out there a little bit more composed and calculated.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Also twenty five minutes is a lot different. It's almost
- 6:27Speaker 2: like double the amount. It's almost double the amount of
- 6:29Speaker 2: time as a three round four.
- 6:30Speaker 1: When's the last time you went a full fight.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Twenty five minutes, man, Benson Henderson, Like twenty sixteen or twenty.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Eighteen, because every fight I think I've seen that.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Yeah, peed blood after that one, for sure, Yeah, that's
- 6:43Speaker 2: passed out. Actually that I passed out in that fight.
- 6:46Speaker 2: My coach. I was unconscious on my feet. My eyes
- 6:49Speaker 2: were open, but I was unconscious. My coach had to
- 6:51Speaker 2: pick me up after the fourth round right at the
- 6:53Speaker 2: end of the round. Woke up in the corner. Finally
- 6:56Speaker 2: came to as my coach behind me. Neil yelled something
- 6:59Speaker 2: at me, and I was like what And I looked
- 7:01Speaker 2: at Hinry. I was like, do we lose or is
- 7:02Speaker 2: it over? He's like, no, We're going into the fifth round.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Go you got to go. And I'm like okay, and
- 7:07Speaker 2: then uh yeah, we thought luckily luckily Uh yeah. I
- 7:11Speaker 2: mean that was just like a pure exhaustion slash, you know,
- 7:15Speaker 2: lack of blood flow to the brain or whatever the
- 7:17Speaker 2: hell was going on.
- 7:18Speaker 3: But do shout out, n F what a fucking walk out?
- 7:20Speaker 2: Shout out. What a walk out. Yeah, it was good.
- 7:23Speaker 2: He made that song specifically for you in this fight. No,
- 7:27Speaker 2: it was a song. It was a song. I mean,
- 7:30Speaker 2: it would be really cool. I would love to actually
- 7:32Speaker 2: lie lie right. I was almost upset.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Here in the commenting and going on because I was
- 7:37Speaker 3: wanting to. I could hear the song and I'm like.
- 7:39Speaker 2: God, everybody, shut up.
- 7:40Speaker 3: I want to enjoy the lyrics happening, dude.
- 7:42Speaker 2: The lyrics are so sick and it's and it's a
- 7:44Speaker 2: little bit I mean the lyrics themselves, which we won't
- 7:47Speaker 2: give I mean, any of them away because it's it's
- 7:49Speaker 2: not out there yet, but but it's it's very much
- 7:52Speaker 2: a uh. You know. I've always been the type of
- 7:54Speaker 2: guy who's like, I'm not here to prove the doubters wrong.
- 7:56Speaker 2: I'm here to prove my supporters right. I I don't
- 7:59Speaker 2: really have a chip on my shoulder. I'm more of
- 8:01Speaker 2: a you know, just like I just want to do
- 8:03Speaker 2: my thing and be an athlete who works hard, kind
- 8:04Speaker 2: of positivity stuff. And then over the last two years,
- 8:06Speaker 2: I'm like, f everybody, man, F everybody. I'm a different man,
- 8:09Speaker 2: and I deserve this. I deserve to freaking absolutely smash
- 8:15Speaker 2: this life that we call you know, our existence, and
- 8:18Speaker 2: uh I love the haters, love the haters. Man.
- 8:22Speaker 1: There's a special place for him.
- 8:24Speaker 2: There's a special special place from the special place in
- 8:26Speaker 2: my heart for him. Man.
- 8:27Speaker 1: So when you're walking out right now, are you? You
- 8:30Speaker 1: look loose? I love you look you seem like you're
- 8:33Speaker 1: about it, because we're all sitting there being like, yeah,
- 8:36Speaker 1: as your friend, we're thinking he hasn't fought in two years.
- 8:39Speaker 1: McGregor's out there. Two weeks before that fight, McGregor breaks
- 8:42Speaker 1: a little tiny peaky toe. He's now out. He's dipped
- 8:44Speaker 1: out for the first time in his UFC career. What's
- 8:46Speaker 1: gonna happen to Mike? Now you're in this limbo? Do
- 8:49Speaker 1: you wait for Connor? Still? UFC fighters are talking shit,
- 8:52Speaker 1: haters are talking shit. And then all of a sudden
- 8:54Speaker 1: you get Charles Oliver and now you're went from fighting
- 8:55Speaker 1: on one seventy and now you're going to one to
- 8:57Speaker 1: fifty five. So there's all these different things can allow
- 9:00Speaker 1: you to stiffen up a little bit, and then you
- 9:02Speaker 1: walk out and you seem loose, confident, poised, controlled like
- 9:07Speaker 1: you just seem like Michael Chandler like the ultimate confidence. Yeah, man,
- 9:10Speaker 1: are you actually feeling that? Or is that like I
- 9:12Speaker 1: got to put this on a little bit ficketty and
- 9:14Speaker 1: make it type of thing because it has been a
- 9:15Speaker 1: while since I've.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Been no I was man like, I I mean that.
- 9:17Speaker 2: And that's when you just know you're doing exactly what
- 9:19Speaker 2: you were called to don It's it's it doesn't matter
- 9:22Speaker 2: if I was out for ten years. It doesn't matter
- 9:24Speaker 2: if I was injured, it doesn't matter. If there's stuff
- 9:26Speaker 2: going on behind the scenes, it doesn't matter. None of
- 9:28Speaker 2: that stuff matters, man, because you're doing exactly what you
- 9:31Speaker 2: were called to do. And and this is where you
- 9:32Speaker 2: were supposed to be. There's nowhere else in the entire world.
- 9:35Speaker 2: I was supposed to be then in Madison Square Garden
- 9:38Speaker 2: at that moment, right, you know. And and I was
- 9:40Speaker 2: built for this thing, and I was I was, I
- 9:42Speaker 2: was bred for it, and it's it was an awesome
- 9:46Speaker 2: you know. It was a little bit more like, hey,
- 9:48Speaker 2: let's take it in because you haven't done this. You know.
- 9:50Speaker 2: I've did a lot of visualization closing my eyes when
- 9:53Speaker 2: I was in our octagon inside of our gym down
- 9:56Speaker 2: in Florida, and like imagining the crowd and the lights
- 9:58Speaker 2: and the feels and even during the you know, I
- 10:01Speaker 2: hadn't been in the locker room like that warming up
- 10:03Speaker 2: for two years. Needed to go out to MSG. I Like,
- 10:05Speaker 2: they were like, you can't go out there. I was like,
- 10:07Speaker 2: all right, cool, and then I like walked out anyway
- 10:09Speaker 2: and they were like no, seriously, like come on, come on,
- 10:11Speaker 2: and they were like pulling me out. But I went
- 10:12Speaker 2: out to the arena smelled it, like you gotta smell it,
- 10:15Speaker 2: you gotta feel it, you got to hear you gotta
- 10:17Speaker 2: hear it. Because there's twenty thousand people there and they're
- 10:19Speaker 2: all talking, and all of their hearts are beating, and
- 10:21Speaker 2: there's a bunch there's an energy out there, right, and
- 10:24Speaker 2: there's a smell, and there's a feel, and there's a
- 10:26Speaker 2: taste and there's all of these different senses going on.
- 10:29Speaker 2: And I hadn't smelled it in two years of actually
- 10:32Speaker 2: being the guy who was going to be in the arena,
- 10:36Speaker 2: and it all just came back, man, And you know,
- 10:39Speaker 2: getting in there and kind of walking around, the first
- 10:41Speaker 2: time I had touched the cage to my back in
- 10:43Speaker 2: two years, the first time I had felt the canvas
- 10:44Speaker 2: on my feet in two years, the first time I
- 10:46Speaker 2: had been in an arena with all of those different
- 10:50Speaker 2: emotions going on around me, Right.
- 10:53Speaker 3: How hard is it to not get too high? Like
- 10:54Speaker 3: once you do step in the octagen and you are
- 10:56Speaker 3: drinking it all in, it's like, hey, I need to
- 10:58Speaker 3: focus on my breathing.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Here it is, it is, And you got your trump
- 11:02Speaker 1: and musk.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I mean I mean.
- 11:07Speaker 1: The great tailor there, Yeah, the greatest the point.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Yeah, the greatest crowd of witnesses. You know, man, I
- 11:12Speaker 2: mean that's that's pretty. That's a freaking really really cool
- 11:15Speaker 2: uh little row up there, uh cage side, And yeah,
- 11:19Speaker 2: I mean I did have to pull myself back down
- 11:22Speaker 2: because that was that was the biggest thing with me. Obviously,
- 11:25Speaker 2: I will touch gloves and go balls to the wall
- 11:28Speaker 2: until the wheels fall off and I go out on
- 11:30Speaker 2: my shield and my heart explodes or whatever happens. But
- 11:33Speaker 2: this fight, I wanted to be more present, and I
- 11:36Speaker 2: wanted to breathe, and I wanted to feel my heart beat.
- 11:38Speaker 2: I wanted to control my thoughts. I wanted to actually
- 11:41Speaker 2: make decisions in there instead of my body just doing
- 11:45Speaker 2: just doing and reacting, you know. And I and I
- 11:48Speaker 2: did that, but I needed to come back down because
- 11:52Speaker 2: I did get a little bit hyped up as I
- 11:54Speaker 2: walked in. I'm like, hell, yeah, let's do this. I
- 11:55Speaker 2: remember this, this is what I let's let's Then all
- 11:59Speaker 2: of a sudden, you know, the cooler head prevailed where
- 12:02Speaker 2: it was like, wait a second, bro, bring it down,
- 12:04Speaker 2: you know, and breathe a little bit, and and and
- 12:07Speaker 2: realize that you're about to go into a job, in
- 12:10Speaker 2: a profession, and in a contest instead of a war,
- 12:14Speaker 2: instead of a battle, you know, going back to the
- 12:17Speaker 2: trying to win by a thousand instead of trying to
- 12:18Speaker 2: win by one, you know, and and I just truly
- 12:21Speaker 2: thought me trying to win by one, I was still
- 12:23Speaker 2: gonna win by a thousand.
- 12:24Speaker 3: And wait on the moment presenting itself.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, the uh when all of air is coming
- 12:32Speaker 1: out and you're pacing back and forth, so the music changes,
- 12:35Speaker 1: Like does that affect you at all when you hear it?
- 12:37Speaker 1: When you hear that, I just want to feel all
- 12:39Speaker 1: the things you.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Were Yeah time that uh yeah, I mean that's a
- 12:43Speaker 2: little disappointing because then you're like, man, I'm having I'm
- 12:45Speaker 2: enjoying my music, and I'm enjoying my moment and you're like, oh, shoot, okay,
- 12:48Speaker 2: and I gotta have a five minutes where it's all
- 12:50Speaker 2: about him and I gotta you know, now we're But
- 12:52Speaker 2: I think that was when I started kind of get
- 12:54Speaker 2: locked in where it was like, oh, shoot, now the
- 12:56Speaker 2: guy who's about to try to take everything from me
- 12:59Speaker 2: is walking into the arena.
- 13:01Speaker 3: You're not only walking in the arena, but hugs you yet,
- 13:03Speaker 3: huggy Yeah, any party you want to slip him And
- 13:05Speaker 3: I knew.
- 13:07Speaker 2: No, I I knew that. And in the back yeah, no,
- 13:10Speaker 2: Me and Charles are very respectful, man, there's no doubt
- 13:13Speaker 2: at that both Guystimately it's a big hug, you know,
- 13:16Speaker 2: God blessed you type of thing. Like, dude, I'm just
- 13:18Speaker 2: happy you're here. I mean, that's one thing too, like
- 13:20Speaker 2: what you talk about. I mean, look at Chris Widman.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Chris Whidman woke up on November sixteenth thinking he was
- 13:26Speaker 2: going to fight, probably to a phone call saying hey, sorry,
- 13:28Speaker 2: Eric Andres is injured, sick or whatever, pulling out of
- 13:31Speaker 2: the fight. I'm just happy you're here because now we
- 13:34Speaker 2: both get paid, we both get to fight. We both
- 13:36Speaker 2: like this thing is actually happening, you know, So it's
- 13:39Speaker 2: a there's part of that where you're just like, man,
- 13:41Speaker 2: thank god it's here, because up until that moment, nothing
- 13:44Speaker 2: is guaranteed, you know, until that cage door actually locks, like,
- 13:48Speaker 2: nothing is actually guaranteed. So then then it starts to
- 13:51Speaker 2: get a little bit more real. You hear his music.
- 13:53Speaker 2: His music is awesome. I don't understand it because it's
- 13:56Speaker 2: Brazilian or Portuguese whatever, but it's a totally different but
- 13:59Speaker 2: it's a cool it's a cool song. Sounds like a
- 14:01Speaker 2: worship song or something. I don't know, but it's it's
- 14:03Speaker 2: a yesterday sometimes dang dude in the car over there, dude,
- 14:12Speaker 2: but that, yeah, that's kind of the momentere you're like, Okay,
- 14:14Speaker 2: now it's you know, it's it's no longer about my
- 14:16Speaker 2: walk out. I'm actually in here. Oh and that guy's
- 14:19Speaker 2: coming out, and you're kind of like, you know, are
- 14:21Speaker 2: you make an eye contact? Are you looking at him?
- 14:23Speaker 2: Are you now You're now you're also still questioning yourself,
- 14:25Speaker 2: like how are you gonna play this? You're gonna like
- 14:27Speaker 2: mean mug them, You're gonna freaking you're gonna lock eyes
- 14:29Speaker 2: and kind of do one of those numbers, you're not
- 14:30Speaker 2: gonna look him at all, which sometimes people are like, oh,
- 14:33Speaker 2: he does not looking at him, looking at him at all,
- 14:35Speaker 2: which shows lack of confidence. And sometimes it's a high
- 14:38Speaker 2: level of confidence to not look at your opponent at all,
- 14:41Speaker 2: like Jose Aldo was a was a perfect example of that.
- 14:43Speaker 2: He would he would go face to face with the
- 14:45Speaker 2: guy and just look down and kind of like look
- 14:47Speaker 2: at his feet the whole time, would never never make
- 14:49Speaker 2: eye contact. Yet he would go out there and absolutely
- 14:51Speaker 2: smash somebody. He wasn't afraid of them, you know. So
- 14:53Speaker 2: it was a it's an interesting it's an interesting vibe,
- 14:57Speaker 2: but it.
- 14:57Speaker 3: Was just a game being played at all times, right, Yeah,
- 15:00Speaker 3: there's mental warfare, just like people just playing chess well
- 15:02Speaker 3: their pieces in certain way.
- 15:03Speaker 2: But it's but it's funny too, right, because we're all
- 15:05Speaker 2: human beings, like we're we're all we all must play
- 15:08Speaker 2: by the rules of human nature and and succumb to
- 15:12Speaker 2: to just being a human and the thoughts that are
- 15:14Speaker 2: going on, the biological things that are happening inside of there,
- 15:17Speaker 2: where's your heart rate and all these different things. We're
- 15:19Speaker 2: a human being, but you get looked at differently because
- 15:22Speaker 2: you're an athlete, and then even kind of even more
- 15:25Speaker 2: different because you're fighting in an octagon with a very
- 15:28Speaker 2: little rules, you know, but we're just human beings trying
- 15:31Speaker 2: to figure it out, and every single time is different.
- 15:34Speaker 2: You talk about being thankful that he you know, he's there.
- 15:36Speaker 3: You guys are both there, the fight's gonna happen, you're
- 15:38Speaker 3: both gonna get paid and whatnot. When there rumors of
- 15:41Speaker 3: him possibly backing out, Yeah, we're dropping out? Was it
- 15:43Speaker 3: due to injury?
- 15:44Speaker 2: It well, so I never really got any kind of
- 15:48Speaker 2: confirmation other than my my manager called me like two
- 15:51Speaker 2: days after that. That news rumor kind of broke, and
- 15:55Speaker 2: I didn't even think anything of it. I think it
- 15:57Speaker 2: was more there was some games misship I think happening
- 15:59Speaker 2: because it's like, hey, this happened at Chandler three months ago,
- 16:02Speaker 2: two weeks before the fight, let's uh, let's leak something.
- 16:05Speaker 2: And it was Brazilian media, so I don't know if
- 16:07Speaker 2: it was his coach saying something or what. But I
- 16:11Speaker 2: wasn't worried about it at all. I just kept training
- 16:13Speaker 2: and I knew it wasn't me, so yeah, it had
- 16:16Speaker 2: to be him, But.
- 16:17Speaker 3: I think it was all just the thing, and this
- 16:19Speaker 3: is better than not fucking happened.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Yeah, you got to because I.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Mean your thoughts go there, You're like, well, shoot, would
- 16:25Speaker 2: I take another fight? Who would who would they match
- 16:27Speaker 2: me up against? It's it's a short notice fight, so
- 16:30Speaker 2: then people think we'll shoot, it's an easy fight because
- 16:33Speaker 2: a guy's probably coming off the couch. But actually it's
- 16:35Speaker 2: not an easy fight because you're like, it's a brand
- 16:36Speaker 2: new opponent and that guy's got nothing to lose. Like,
- 16:39Speaker 2: I love that idea. Like if Hunter called me and
- 16:41Speaker 2: was like, hey, you want to step in and fight
- 16:42Speaker 2: this guy on two weeks and I said be like, hell, yeah, dude,
- 16:44Speaker 2: I got nothing to lose. What are you gonna pay me?
- 16:46Speaker 2: Let it sweep, just let it fly. And if after
- 16:49Speaker 2: a round and a half my gas tank goes, you
- 16:52Speaker 2: don't really lose because you weren't training for the It's
- 16:56Speaker 2: you know what it is, it's Nate Diaz versus Connor one.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Yeah that it was on a level in days notice.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Diaz had nothing to lose whatsoever. Connor had everything to
- 17:04Speaker 2: lose because he was training for ten weeks leading up
- 17:06Speaker 2: to the fight and he goes out there and loses.
- 17:08Speaker 2: He gases out and Diaz doesn't somehow, and he had
- 17:12Speaker 2: nothing to lose and went out there and won shock
- 17:14Speaker 2: the world.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, round one. So you're coming out with the
- 17:18Speaker 1: new mic two point zero. You get in there and
- 17:20Speaker 1: you feel it from like the beginning, the first ten
- 17:22Speaker 1: seconds of fight. You guys are floating around a little bit.
- 17:24Speaker 1: He does a little leg kick, you kind of move
- 17:25Speaker 1: it out of the way, and it already feels in
- 17:28Speaker 1: the building like, oh, this is way different than we
- 17:30Speaker 1: all expected. Yeah, what at what point do you think
- 17:34Speaker 1: he fully realized that this is a new mic he's fighting.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Well, I know we went to the ground at some
- 17:39Speaker 2: point in the first round within like the first two
- 17:42Speaker 2: kansas at time. So I think that first the first couple,
- 17:46Speaker 2: the first couple exchanges, just just navigating and actually letting
- 17:50Speaker 2: the fight progress instead of instead of forcing myself into
- 17:53Speaker 2: the fight, let the fight progress and if he lands
- 17:55Speaker 2: a shot or I land a shot or whatever it is,
- 17:58Speaker 2: let's just you know, let's just get in here, move
- 18:00Speaker 2: around a little bit, rather than rather than going right
- 18:03Speaker 2: into the fire. And yeah, things were going well until that,
- 18:07Speaker 2: you know that uh first takedown really and then got
- 18:11Speaker 2: on the ground and then he but then even then
- 18:14Speaker 2: I also it shows my growth instead of trying to
- 18:17Speaker 2: force my way out of the position, I was completely okay,
- 18:22Speaker 2: saying for the first time in my life, I concede
- 18:24Speaker 2: a day a round. I let him stay on I
- 18:26Speaker 2: let him stay on top, and I let him win
- 18:28Speaker 2: the round because I had twenty more minutes to fight.
- 18:31Speaker 3: And in your in your head, are you thinking too, like,
- 18:33Speaker 3: don't force anything here, you need your gas stake. Yeah,
- 18:35Speaker 3: we're preparing for a five round fight.
- 18:37Speaker 2: That was exactly what it was like I was. I
- 18:39Speaker 2: looked over at the clock. I've never seen a clock
- 18:41Speaker 2: ever in my thirty two fight career. I've never looked
- 18:43Speaker 2: at a clock, never wondered what time it was, never
- 18:45Speaker 2: heard my coach say thirty seconds, one minute, whatever. I've
- 18:47Speaker 2: never never worried about it because I'm in there fighting.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Whereas there I was not really fighting. I was strategic.
- 18:55Speaker 2: I was I was like chart Well number two. Even
- 18:58Speaker 2: more importantly, the greatest submission artists in UFC history is
- 19:02Speaker 2: on top of you with your leg and my left
- 19:04Speaker 2: leg freaking up in a knee bar type of position
- 19:07Speaker 2: where you're one second away from him attacking that and
- 19:10Speaker 2: snapping my leg off. Plus he's on yeah, plus he's
- 19:13Speaker 2: on top, and and you know he he you know,
- 19:17Speaker 2: I went back and watched the fight and Joe and
- 19:19Speaker 2: and like the commentators like those elbows he landed, he
- 19:22Speaker 2: didn't land it one one elbow on me whatsoever. They
- 19:24Speaker 2: all looked like they landed, but they all glanced off
- 19:26Speaker 2: my arm or glanced off like the side of my head.
- 19:29Speaker 2: And I remember laying in there like he threw one.
- 19:31Speaker 2: I was like, oh, thank you Jesus. That was good,
- 19:33Speaker 2: because there was freaking, like three different times a couple
- 19:35Speaker 2: of those elbows were absolute fire balls coming at me
- 19:40Speaker 2: with his bony, freaking long elbows, and none of them landed.
- 19:45Speaker 2: And uh, I was just like, I'm gonna sit here,
- 19:47Speaker 2: and then pushed him like as soon as the bell
- 19:48Speaker 2: ring pushed him off me, walked to my walk to
- 19:50Speaker 2: the to the stool.
- 19:52Speaker 3: Are there ever times where you feel like you're in
- 19:54Speaker 3: trouble when he's got your back because you're talking about
- 19:56Speaker 3: rewatching it and you're hearing the commentator like Chandler could
- 19:59Speaker 3: be in a lot of trouble here if he just
- 20:01Speaker 3: you know, he can't give him his back, he can't
- 20:02Speaker 3: do this like this is a very dangerous spot for
- 20:04Speaker 3: Mike to be this.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Yeah, that is that is his favorite spot to be
- 20:08Speaker 2: in a fight, right, I mean he finished, poor finished
- 20:11Speaker 2: Gaechee finished. So many guys. He's got, however, many twenty
- 20:15Speaker 2: something submissions or something like that, over a million dollars
- 20:18Speaker 2: in bonuses. The guy's got, right, You guys are probably
- 20:21Speaker 2: looking at how many freaking rear naked chokes he has.
- 20:23Speaker 2: It's probably half of his submissions are rear naked chokes
- 20:26Speaker 2: because he's the perfect body type. If you go back
- 20:29Speaker 2: and watch how long his forearms are, it's crazy, and
- 20:32Speaker 2: they're not big. They're bony and they're skinny, but he's
- 20:35Speaker 2: still strong. So he's got really long arms and he's
- 20:37Speaker 2: got really long legs. So he's gonna he's gonna lock
- 20:40Speaker 2: that figure four up around the body. Yeah, and freaking
- 20:44Speaker 2: squeeze your guts out, separate your freaking rib on the
- 20:47Speaker 2: right side. And that one was happening. Oh, I mean
- 20:49Speaker 2: I think he got it.
- 20:50Speaker 1: And uh is that the one we had fully stretched
- 20:52Speaker 1: out over there?
- 20:54Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 20:54Speaker 3: That's when I think DC and Ruggan we're going back
- 20:56Speaker 3: and forth like, oh, he's been here before. Yeah, And
- 20:58Speaker 3: then I think somebody corrected the other. So you got
- 21:01Speaker 3: to remember that was in the first round of the
- 21:02Speaker 3: last fight. Like this is different because tanks, you know,
- 21:05Speaker 3: guys are wearing.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Out a little bit. Yeah, yeah, it was. It was good.
- 21:08Speaker 2: It was good once you start getting sweaty, because I
- 21:10Speaker 2: do remember that too, being in that first round. He
- 21:12Speaker 2: gets on top of me and you can you can
- 21:14Speaker 2: feel the guy you're holding onto and it's like it's
- 21:16Speaker 2: sticky and you're sticky. Is not good when you're fighting
- 21:19Speaker 2: Charles olavera second round, third round, fourth round, when the
- 21:23Speaker 2: sweat is flowing, everything gets a little bit more slippery
- 21:26Speaker 2: or obviously and then you're in a better spot. But
- 21:28Speaker 2: you're also always in danger against Charles. But I've got good,
- 21:32Speaker 2: you know, pretty good defense and keeping the hand control and.
- 21:36Speaker 1: When you're when in those three rounds when you're on
- 21:38Speaker 1: the ground all those times, you always talk about being
- 21:41Speaker 1: aware of him, how good he is. Was there ever
- 21:43Speaker 1: a point where you're like, oh fuck, Like yeah, because
- 21:47Speaker 1: there's a like you talk about hand control all that,
- 21:49Speaker 1: there's just things that I don't understand. Will you do
- 21:51Speaker 1: a little bit because you did wrestling, but like I'm
- 21:52Speaker 1: watching in the ground, I got JP in my air
- 21:55Speaker 1: being like he's doing this well and that well. I'm
- 21:57Speaker 1: just thinking to myself, I know he's good on the ground.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Were you ever like if he does this.
- 22:01Speaker 3: One thing I am fucked was because one time he
- 22:03Speaker 3: like had Mike's face it seemed like.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Yeah, and in the fourth round I think it was
- 22:09Speaker 2: or third round, third or fourth round, Yeah, he had
- 22:11Speaker 2: he had a full on rear naked choke in there
- 22:13Speaker 2: two different times and I was able to pull pull
- 22:16Speaker 2: the arm down, and then I also planted my elbow
- 22:19Speaker 2: and did this number. So I had kind of a
- 22:21Speaker 2: kickstand going on there where he couldn't get the elbow
- 22:24Speaker 2: when he any shorter. But I definitely had a moment
- 22:27Speaker 2: or two where because you know, when you're about to
- 22:30Speaker 2: go out, if you can feel it where the crowd goes,
- 22:36Speaker 2: you know, it starts to get starts to sound like
- 22:38Speaker 2: you're in a tunnel type of situation where you're like, okay,
- 22:41Speaker 2: I'm not that far away from being choked out right now.
- 22:44Speaker 1: You know the crowd understands, I should understand.
- 22:46Speaker 2: While your heart beats going one thousand miles an hour
- 22:48Speaker 2: and your body's doing all kinds of biological stuff, but
- 22:52Speaker 2: that was, but I just remember, you know, I I
- 22:56Speaker 2: wasn't you know, there was just things weren't going well
- 22:58Speaker 2: in there as far as and movement and and my
- 23:02Speaker 2: footing and all that kind of stuff. And then even
- 23:04Speaker 2: being on the ground, I was like, I'm not moving
- 23:07Speaker 2: well on the ground. But I also don't want to
- 23:08Speaker 2: force positions I'm I was. When I walked into that
- 23:12Speaker 2: fifth round, I thought, Okay, this is where right where
- 23:14Speaker 2: I was supposed to be thwart off all the attacks,
- 23:18Speaker 2: let him do his grappling stuff, let him wear down,
- 23:20Speaker 2: and I'm going to finish him in the fifth. I
- 23:22Speaker 2: had the plan of being being there later in the
- 23:24Speaker 2: rounds to finish him in the fourth or fifth, and
- 23:26Speaker 2: I knew that's right where I was, you know, wanting
- 23:29Speaker 2: to be. But so I was just okay with those positions. Yeah,
- 23:35Speaker 2: because we go ahead.
- 23:36Speaker 1: You you brought up I mean, obviously before we get
- 23:38Speaker 1: to the fifth that's the money fight, the money part
- 23:41Speaker 1: of the fight. It was unbelievable, but you talked about
- 23:43Speaker 1: like you're losing your footing. You didn't feel like you
- 23:44Speaker 1: were moving around too well, like what you took a
- 23:46Speaker 1: bagel blee kick in the leg, and it seemed like that.
- 23:49Speaker 1: That was wobbling like crazy. And then I see you.
- 23:51Speaker 1: I think it was after the second round, ja second
- 23:54Speaker 1: or third, You're doing like the foot thing in the corner.
- 23:56Speaker 1: It seemed like you were just trying to grab some
- 23:57Speaker 1: sort of grip, so you it seemed like you were
- 23:59Speaker 1: under saying that like maybe you weren't mechanically working correct.
- 24:02Speaker 1: It wasn't your legs, was your shoulder? Like what was
- 24:04Speaker 1: going on?
- 24:04Speaker 2: Well, I'm not I will not say anything until I
- 24:06Speaker 2: get an MRI. But yeah, so I think something happened
- 24:11Speaker 2: to the knee in that first exchange where he had
- 24:14Speaker 2: the leg and I did like a full three sixty.
- 24:16Speaker 2: He did like a little knee bar thing because I
- 24:18Speaker 2: walked back to the stool and I looked down on
- 24:20Speaker 2: my left leg and it was not working right. It
- 24:21Speaker 2: wasn't stepping, it wasn't catching, it was unstable. It was weird.
- 24:27Speaker 2: And then and then yeah, during the fight, it was
- 24:29Speaker 2: like the because you spar all these rounds and you
- 24:32Speaker 2: know what it feels like. I've been fighting for fifteen years,
- 24:34Speaker 2: you know what it feels like to be on a
- 24:36Speaker 2: solid foundation to walk forward, plod forward, move forward, attack,
- 24:41Speaker 2: and I just wasn't moving backwards, it was no problem.
- 24:44Speaker 2: So my body and my brain was telling me moving
- 24:46Speaker 2: backwards is cool, but moving forward planting and being in
- 24:50Speaker 2: his face and being in that pressure, like even if
- 24:52Speaker 2: you go back and watch the fifth, if you really
- 24:53Speaker 2: watch the fourth and fifth, whenever I was kind of
- 24:56Speaker 2: pursuing him, my legs were almost just my left leg
- 25:01Speaker 2: was just like almost like flopping rather than stalking and
- 25:04Speaker 2: moving forward, you know. And I remember and Robbi Lawler
- 25:07Speaker 2: is such a freaking badass Hall of Famer in some
- 25:09Speaker 2: of the craziest fights ever. And I was just like, guys,
- 25:11Speaker 2: I can't get my footing. I'm trying to figure out
- 25:13Speaker 2: my footing. And He's like, well, you better figure it out.
- 25:16Speaker 2: And I was like, you're right, Robbie. Shit, It's like
- 25:22Speaker 2: and yeah, it was uh yeah, man, I mean we'll
- 25:25Speaker 2: we'll see, we'll see what happened. But yeah, essentially, for
- 25:28Speaker 2: about twenty three minutes of that fight, I don't know
- 25:30Speaker 2: if the leg was really working that well. How does
- 25:33Speaker 2: it feel right now? Not great, not great, not great?
- 25:39Speaker 1: How did you How did your knee feel before the fight?
- 25:42Speaker 2: The right knee, the right knee. You had some stuff
- 25:44Speaker 2: going on and I think, I think we're gonna get
- 25:46Speaker 2: that cleaned up for sure. But I've had that for
- 25:48Speaker 2: like two years. But the left knee is like the worst,
- 25:52Speaker 2: the worst I've ever felt on any kind of injury whatsoever.
- 25:57Speaker 2: But it's you know, it's a fight, man, it's you.
- 25:59Speaker 2: You figured out. And I'm also, uh, my default is
- 26:02Speaker 2: never okay, where where's my excuses? Where's my where's my excuse? Buttons?
- 26:07Speaker 2: You know, like I don't have those. So I was
- 26:09Speaker 2: just I was like, well, it must be my fault.
- 26:10Speaker 2: It must be my footing. It must be you know,
- 26:13Speaker 2: the canvas. It must be like I got to get
- 26:15Speaker 2: my feet wet, you know, I was trying to getting
- 26:17Speaker 2: my feet wet in between every single round, like spitting
- 26:19Speaker 2: water out, pouring water out, getting water on my feet
- 26:22Speaker 2: because and then now when I go back and watch
- 26:25Speaker 2: the fight, because I know how I move, I know
- 26:27Speaker 2: what I look like. I got my my last couple
- 26:30Speaker 2: of sparring sessions of how I move and what my
- 26:32Speaker 2: foundation looks like on my feet, and it just was
- 26:35Speaker 2: not the same at all. So it's a weight bearing issue,
- 26:39Speaker 2: slash balance issue, slash whatever. But I felt like, how
- 26:43Speaker 2: many times did I fall in that fight, like I'm
- 26:46Speaker 2: I'm a pretty I'm a decently athletic guy. Like I'm pretty,
- 26:51Speaker 2: I'm pretty athletic.
- 26:52Speaker 1: And if you look at the softball game, you you
- 26:54Speaker 1: made things. We're also more difficult to show off that
- 26:59Speaker 1: you were at.
- 27:00Speaker 2: And like I've got a fly ball and then just
- 27:02Speaker 2: jumped out and.
- 27:04Speaker 1: Catch it.
- 27:04Speaker 2: And I'm better at fighting than I am softball. But
- 27:07Speaker 2: like I I just kept falling, like and I'm like,
- 27:12Speaker 2: I don't, I don't really fall I'm like.
- 27:14Speaker 3: You know, you you talked about even the second round
- 27:17Speaker 3: that you know you ultimately had to kind of concede
- 27:20Speaker 3: and figure out, but ultimately it let go into the
- 27:22Speaker 3: ground because you tripped on the cage.
- 27:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I cut my foot, freaking just did something my
- 27:26Speaker 2: damn hand here. I looked down at my thumb because
- 27:28Speaker 2: I think my thumb went back and touched my wrist. Yeah,
- 27:32Speaker 2: I know. So I got m R on that on
- 27:34Speaker 2: that as well. But yeah, I mean, it's, uh, that's
- 27:36Speaker 2: why we love the sport. Dude. You got two dudes
- 27:38Speaker 2: just freaking braving the unknown to bodily un bodily harm.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Right, So when you.
- 27:44Speaker 3: Go down three to oh and you're going to that
- 27:46Speaker 3: fourth round, are you thinking, all right, Chandler one point,
- 27:48Speaker 3: oh has to start coming out because I'm starting to
- 27:49Speaker 3: run out of time because he's had he's had me
- 27:52Speaker 3: on the ground, whether you can. You talked about conceding
- 27:54Speaker 3: the first one, and second one you kind of tripped
- 27:56Speaker 3: and he had his way within the second round, third round,
- 27:58Speaker 3: he's on top of you the whole time. Are you
- 28:00Speaker 3: starting to like feel the conditioning were off of me? Like,
- 28:03Speaker 3: all right, I gotta start taking some chances here.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Yeah, because also I didn't take any damage. I mean right,
- 28:08Speaker 2: I mean that was the one thing I mean to
- 28:10Speaker 2: me as an athlete, and I'm the hardest on myself,
- 28:13Speaker 2: and obviously my wife is my biggest fan. She's gonna
- 28:15Speaker 2: you know, she's got a skewed version and vision, as
- 28:19Speaker 2: do you guys, probably, but she's like, yeah, he got
- 28:22Speaker 2: on top of you and controlled you. But like, I mean,
- 28:25Speaker 2: look at my face. I got a black guy. Part
- 28:27Speaker 2: of the black eye too, was like I came down
- 28:28Speaker 2: and headbutted his knee or something in the fifth round,
- 28:32Speaker 2: Like I've jacked my face up more myself by going
- 28:34Speaker 2: in and trying to throw punches and running into limbs
- 28:37Speaker 2: more than actually getting punched in fights sometimes, but he
- 28:40Speaker 2: wasn't doing damage.
- 28:42Speaker 3: He was just getting on Like if it was wrestling. Yeah,
- 28:46Speaker 3: you're showing the ride time and everything else.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Yeh, control time, So like it when it comes to that, I,
- 28:50Speaker 2: if you actually look at it, I landed more strikes
- 28:52Speaker 2: in the fight than he did, even though he controlled
- 28:55Speaker 2: and had, you know, because because he would just take
- 28:57Speaker 2: the back, do the body triangle and then kind of
- 29:00Speaker 2: just do this number. And we were just playing hand
- 29:01Speaker 2: fighting for you.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Know, when you're doing the back in the body triangle,
- 29:04Speaker 1: Who's who's exerting more energy in those positions?
- 29:09Speaker 2: I was. I was resting a lot, you know, like
- 29:11Speaker 2: I and I and I and I say that. I
- 29:13Speaker 2: used to hate that word because I think guys pussy
- 29:16Speaker 2: foot around. They don't fight hard enough, they don't you know,
- 29:19Speaker 2: their two point fight tactically. But I was just like, well, hey,
- 29:22Speaker 2: when Charles Olivera has your back, I can choose to
- 29:25Speaker 2: force this and put myself in a bad situation. I
- 29:28Speaker 2: can choose to exert a crazy amount of energy with
- 29:31Speaker 2: a fifty to fifty shot of getting out. You don't
- 29:33Speaker 2: get out, you try to create a scramble your your
- 29:36Speaker 2: cardio goes down, maybe you put yourself in a bad spot,
- 29:39Speaker 2: get Armbard triangled some something silly, or just let him,
- 29:43Speaker 2: you know, let him do his thing. And I still
- 29:45Speaker 2: got I mean, at that point in time, you're in
- 29:46Speaker 2: the third round, You're like, dude, I still got twelve
- 29:48Speaker 2: minutes left to fight. Twelve minutes is like an eternity
- 29:51Speaker 2: inside of there when one punch can finish a fight.
- 29:54Speaker 2: And and I say that as as a guy who
- 29:57Speaker 2: I Got'm proud of myself for actually being in there
- 30:00Speaker 2: and fighting tactically and making conscious decisions rather than you know,
- 30:05Speaker 2: the you know, Dana calls me the arturial Gatti of
- 30:08Speaker 2: the UFC type of you know, it's like, that's great.
- 30:10Speaker 2: I do love that. But also, man, I I was
- 30:13Speaker 2: one hundred percent confident, one hundred percent positive that this
- 30:15Speaker 2: is exactly the way it was supposed to be. I
- 30:17Speaker 2: was going to be Charles Olivera. I was going to
- 30:19Speaker 2: fight for the title next and this is the way
- 30:21Speaker 2: it was supposed to be. And I had to fight
- 30:22Speaker 2: that way as a real professional rather than just a
- 30:26Speaker 2: guy who goes out there and entertains in a crazy,
- 30:28Speaker 2: badass fight. Get a bonus fight could be up for
- 30:31Speaker 2: fight of the Year type of situation, which is all great,
- 30:33Speaker 2: but man, I'm here for championships. So now that that
- 30:36Speaker 2: ship is sailed.
- 30:37Speaker 3: In defending off one of the best ground guys who's
- 30:39Speaker 3: known for finishing on the ground.
- 30:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, and it, you know it, it needs
- 30:44Speaker 2: to be said as well. It's like I've only got
- 30:45Speaker 2: I've only lost the three guys in the UFC. You know.
- 30:47Speaker 2: It's like I've lost to Charles. Every single guy that
- 30:49Speaker 2: I've lost to has been ranked top two or three
- 30:52Speaker 2: in the world at at that moment. It's Poorier Gaichie
- 30:55Speaker 2: and Olivera. Olivera choked out and finished a and Gaegee,
- 31:01Speaker 2: you know, and he wasn't able to do it to me.
- 31:03Speaker 2: So I mean, it's all all of those things. And
- 31:06Speaker 2: it's either way. People can draw the conclusions that they want.
- 31:10Speaker 2: People can love me, they can hate me, but we're
- 31:12Speaker 2: having fun, we're winning, so thank you.
- 31:14Speaker 1: I mean hard pressed to find hard press to hate me.
- 31:16Speaker 2: I mean that fifth round was crazy.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Yeah, you go ahead, No, no, you were sizing up.
- 31:20Speaker 3: I was just gonna I was gonna say, like after
- 31:22Speaker 3: the fourth round and in your mind you're like, all right,
- 31:25Speaker 3: I'm down for like, this is it. The guy gotta
- 31:27Speaker 3: empty the clip. However, I can you go into that
- 31:29Speaker 3: fifth round?
- 31:31Speaker 2: Buddy, I came up off of Mike.
- 31:35Speaker 3: You're sitting there like you know, we're watching from a
- 31:37Speaker 3: different perspective, like you're talking about with Bree. It's like
- 31:39Speaker 3: you're watching your brother. Like you know, I remember watching
- 31:41Speaker 3: Cody all the time, wrestling those feelings, and you're sitting
- 31:44Speaker 3: there watching the fight unfolding, like he's losing the fight.
- 31:47Speaker 3: But all he needs is just he just needs a
- 31:49Speaker 3: land of shot. He needs a land of shot. And
- 31:51Speaker 3: you were being patient, like you're defending them off. You're
- 31:53Speaker 3: happy every time. It's like he's got you for most
- 31:55Speaker 3: around on the ground. It's like, all right, if he
- 31:56Speaker 3: can last two and a half minutes here, then you
- 31:58Speaker 3: end up doing it. He's checking the clock, he's get
- 32:00Speaker 3: into the corner. You can tell you're breathing. Fine, It's like,
- 32:02Speaker 3: all right, he has to go in. This fifth round
- 32:04Speaker 3: has to go. When you landed that first one, dog
- 32:07Speaker 3: and I tell you, I was so mad when you
- 32:09Speaker 3: missed those two.
- 32:11Speaker 2: I was like fuck because you.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Had him, Yeah, you had him on the ground. I
- 32:15Speaker 1: thought they were gonna call the fight because you're right, Like.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Because I got my phone out, I'm recording the TV.
- 32:20Speaker 2: I'm like, come on, bro, you got it, you just
- 32:22Speaker 2: go keep going.
- 32:22Speaker 1: JP and I got our arms around each other. We're
- 32:24Speaker 1: jumping in the air, like leaning over people, screaming like
- 32:28Speaker 1: this is fucking eat because yeah, the first four it's
- 32:31Speaker 1: like it seemed you had your game plan. You did
- 32:33Speaker 1: the game plan. It was what it was. But like
- 32:35Speaker 1: you said, it's like you one punch and when you
- 32:38Speaker 1: cliss one moment he like puts his hand like that.
- 32:40Speaker 1: You're like, oh, he's fucking hurt, and then it falls
- 32:43Speaker 1: down and then you start coming in with the elbows
- 32:45Speaker 1: and the punches. I'm just staring at the Red fight
- 32:47Speaker 1: fucking goll goll it like screaming, bro.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Yeah nobody, yeah, no, Nobody in the last couple of
- 32:54Speaker 2: years has put Oliver in that position. And I put
- 32:56Speaker 2: in in that position twice in the first fight and
- 32:58Speaker 2: in the second fight, and obviously he got finished Islam,
- 33:00Speaker 2: but that's his only loss. Well arming, but that was
- 33:02Speaker 2: a kind of a hug fest, right, yeah, man, it was.
- 33:07Speaker 2: And yeah, hindsight is always twenty twenty man. It's so
- 33:10Speaker 2: it you go back and you're like, God, if you
- 33:12Speaker 2: could just put me back in that moment, I would
- 33:14Speaker 2: have just pushed off and I would have made him
- 33:15Speaker 2: come back up and just But the other thing too,
- 33:18Speaker 2: was I think I also knew. You can just tell
- 33:21Speaker 2: the way I was pursuing him. It was almost like
- 33:23Speaker 2: I was like just tripping toward him. Yeah, you know,
- 33:27Speaker 2: Like I said, I'm not making excuses, but like it was.
- 33:30Speaker 2: It was a weird.
- 33:31Speaker 1: I was on the field and.
- 33:33Speaker 3: Still trying to be like, yeah, I could just go
- 33:36Speaker 3: back to this.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Last night I watched it and I was like, I
- 33:38Speaker 2: was not happy.
- 33:39Speaker 1: You could tell something was up on your legs because
- 33:41Speaker 1: it seemed like you were walking on uneven surfaces.
- 33:43Speaker 2: It was yeah, you know, we'll see. We cannot say
- 33:46Speaker 2: anything until we get the MRI results or whatever, but yeah.
- 33:50Speaker 1: Right there, man, Yeah I was done.
- 33:53Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's uh. And and the referee was right there, dude,
- 33:56Speaker 2: because I mean he took like fifteen shots of the
- 33:59Speaker 2: year fifteen, and I was like, is he gonna is
- 34:02Speaker 2: this for? You're gonna freaking step in? Dude? What do
- 34:06Speaker 2: you think?
- 34:06Speaker 1: Are you thinking like it's over?
- 34:07Speaker 5: Like is that?
- 34:08Speaker 2: Because well, so the herd. The hard part is there's
- 34:11Speaker 2: kind of an unspoken rule at this point. It's like
- 34:14Speaker 2: it's got to be pretty definitive, like if if, because
- 34:17Speaker 2: I would want the exact same thing if I was
- 34:19Speaker 2: up three rounds, four rounds to one or none and
- 34:24Speaker 2: Charles olivera clipped me, I would want the referee to
- 34:27Speaker 2: not step in unless it's like life or death situation
- 34:29Speaker 2: because I'm up. Just let me survive and I win
- 34:32Speaker 2: the fight type of situation. And this is where, you know,
- 34:35Speaker 2: this is where the my humility comes in, where I'm like, hey,
- 34:38Speaker 2: this is the sport, and this is the way things
- 34:40Speaker 2: are supposed to be. Like I completely get if it
- 34:43Speaker 2: was a different fight. I think Keith Peterson finishes, finishes,
- 34:47Speaker 2: or steps in and pulls me off of him after
- 34:49Speaker 2: he takes those fifteen, maybe twenty shots if it's in
- 34:53Speaker 2: the first few rounds. Yeah, but he's already up a
- 34:56Speaker 2: couple of rounds there. So it's kind of like an
- 34:57Speaker 2: unspoken rule, let this guy serve vibe unless I need
- 35:01Speaker 2: to save him, unless you know, but he was in
- 35:03Speaker 2: a bad Yeah, he was in a bad spot. I
- 35:05Speaker 2: remember when he turned over and he looked at it.
- 35:07Speaker 2: For some reason, his eyes were red, like I don't
- 35:09Speaker 2: know if freaking like they were red, like bloodshot, and
- 35:12Speaker 2: he was looking at me, but he wasn't really looking
- 35:14Speaker 2: at me. He was like looking through me, cross eyed
- 35:16Speaker 2: and and just he was he was looking at God.
- 35:20Speaker 2: He was all just head right there. He's like, I
- 35:24Speaker 2: need to come back. You're good.
- 35:25Speaker 1: That's a that's supposed to do that.
- 35:28Speaker 5: When you're on top of him and you lean back
- 35:29Speaker 5: and he Mike like took a few deep breasts and
- 35:31Speaker 5: then just starts going back in.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, well yeah, And that's and that's one of
- 35:37Speaker 2: Charles Charles's good things because he's he's been He's not
- 35:41Speaker 2: the most dominant guy. If you watch him, you know,
- 35:45Speaker 2: he he gets in bad positions and guys hurt him.
- 35:47Speaker 2: But he's but he's long and lanky, and he's and
- 35:50Speaker 2: he could close his eyes and and and use his
- 35:53Speaker 2: feet like hands, you know, and and tie you up
- 35:56Speaker 2: and do these things with his big old long limbs.
- 35:59Speaker 2: So it was it's a tough position to be in
- 36:01Speaker 2: because he's so good at being defensive in those positions
- 36:05Speaker 2: because he's been in those positions so much. And that's
- 36:07Speaker 2: what you have to be as a jiu jitsu artist.
- 36:09Speaker 2: You are going to concede the position and let a
- 36:12Speaker 2: guy be on top of you so you can triangle
- 36:14Speaker 2: him and armbar him and do these things. But you
- 36:16Speaker 2: still have to be very good. Whereas me, I'm not
- 36:19Speaker 2: that way because I'm not ever on bottom like that,
- 36:22Speaker 2: you know, with a guy on top of me usually.
- 36:25Speaker 2: So you get in a position and you make one
- 36:27Speaker 2: little movie, you let him advance a little bit, and
- 36:29Speaker 2: then he's got you tied up and he's just hugging
- 36:31Speaker 2: you with his legs or he's doing something, and then
- 36:32Speaker 2: you can't land a good shot, right, so remind me.
- 36:35Speaker 1: So you have him, you have him down. I forget
- 36:38Speaker 1: what happened next, because we thought it was over and
- 36:40Speaker 1: then he was.
- 36:41Speaker 2: Like putting it.
- 36:42Speaker 5: He was like trying to go for your arm in
- 36:44Speaker 5: some weird way. And then that's when I feel like
- 36:46Speaker 5: it kind of got.
- 36:46Speaker 3: It's when you started to see a little like you know,
- 36:48Speaker 3: the conditioning as far as like it's the fifth round
- 36:50Speaker 3: and you're just unloading the clip on him, yeah, whereas
- 36:53Speaker 3: your that's where you're like looking back and back if
- 36:55Speaker 3: I have just stepped away and make him get up.
- 36:57Speaker 2: Yeah, but obviously you have to follow him. I mean
- 37:00Speaker 2: that was when I, you know, that's when I I
- 37:02Speaker 2: go back to it, and I had no weight. Like
- 37:04Speaker 2: when you're on you when you're throwing a left hook,
- 37:07Speaker 2: you want both your weight planted on both of your
- 37:09Speaker 2: feet and if anything, a little bit more on your
- 37:12Speaker 2: front foot, because that's where you're all the powers coming
- 37:15Speaker 2: from your left hip, which for me is my front hip.
- 37:17Speaker 2: And I threw that hook with my left foot in
- 37:20Speaker 2: the air because I wasn't putting weight on my left foot,
- 37:23Speaker 2: and this whift fell. We did a complete three sixty,
- 37:26Speaker 2: and we landed in a good spot for me to
- 37:28Speaker 2: to land good damage. So I wouldn't have I wouldn't
- 37:31Speaker 2: have stood us up. I wouldn't have stood up then
- 37:33Speaker 2: right away. I would have tried to finish them right there.
- 37:35Speaker 2: But as soon as the as soon as the action
- 37:37Speaker 2: kind of stopped and I and I wasn't just dominating
- 37:39Speaker 2: raining punches. It would have been nice to be able
- 37:42Speaker 2: to just push him away and make them stand up.
- 37:44Speaker 1: But here we are, and then it gets you to
- 37:47Speaker 1: the ground what like a minute forty five, a minute
- 37:50Speaker 1: thirty left, And yeah, that's the point we kind of knew,
- 37:52Speaker 1: like all right, like did you know, like all right?
- 37:54Speaker 1: He's got me on the ground. This guy's the best ground.
- 37:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:57Speaker 2: Here we are again. Yeah, here we are again. You know.
- 38:01Speaker 2: And he didn't do any damage. He just held me
- 38:03Speaker 2: and hugged me and did his thing.
- 38:04Speaker 1: And yeah, at that point, for him, he doesn't have
- 38:07Speaker 1: to really do anything, right he control.
- 38:09Speaker 2: And then Chandler Chandler two point okay or Chandler one
- 38:12Speaker 2: point oh, reverted back where I was like, Hey, now
- 38:15Speaker 2: we're like, hey, I'm about to take this one hundred
- 38:18Speaker 2: and eighty pound man with one leg and stand up.
- 38:22Speaker 1: Wattle ass wattle is.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Yeah, we can't do it right here. We got to
- 38:26Speaker 2: walk to the middle of that monster can and freaking
- 38:30Speaker 2: slam them twice. And I know it's like it's not like, hey,
- 38:33Speaker 2: I let me see if I can knock him out
- 38:35Speaker 2: with this thing. I mean, it would have been actually
- 38:39Speaker 2: the craziest thing ever if his he lost his breath
- 38:43Speaker 2: or he freaking went unconscious. But obviously there was a
- 38:45Speaker 2: zero percent chance of that happening. Really, but I was like,
- 38:48Speaker 2: this is just for the fans. I looked right at
- 38:50Speaker 2: freaking Donald Trump and Kid Rock on the first one,
- 38:52Speaker 2: and then on the second one, as I was getting up,
- 38:55Speaker 2: I was on three points and Hunter Campbell had his
- 38:57Speaker 2: hands like this, and he was just like looking at
- 38:59Speaker 2: me like this is freaking nuts, and we like locked
- 39:02Speaker 2: eyes and I was like and I smiled at him
- 39:05Speaker 2: and just did it again.
- 39:07Speaker 1: Again, dude, when you fucking that. The fifth round was
- 39:11Speaker 1: maybe the most electric fifth round you could ever ever watch.
- 39:14Speaker 1: You had him in the corner, he gets you on
- 39:16Speaker 1: the ground. Like the range of emotions was crazy because
- 39:18Speaker 1: we're screaming he's gonna do it.
- 39:20Speaker 2: Then he gets you in the.
- 39:21Speaker 1: Ground, like man, it's over. That sucks. And then you
- 39:23Speaker 1: sort of stand up and you're like, hey, what's he doing?
- 39:26Speaker 1: What's he about to do right now? And you literally
- 39:29Speaker 1: like it was like it was cinema. It was absolutely
- 39:32Speaker 1: because you're like struggling to get up and he just
- 39:34Speaker 1: holding on your back and you can see your legs
- 39:36Speaker 1: shaking and your body shaking. You're like just the the
- 39:39Speaker 1: power of an alpha male standing up from the people.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Everyone's like oh, because you can feel the crowd. The
- 39:45Speaker 1: crowd was like all right, they got his back. Everyone
- 39:46Speaker 1: and their mother's like all right, they're gonna be on
- 39:48Speaker 1: the ground for the rest of the time. This fight's over.
- 39:51Speaker 1: Let's get ready for the John Jones fight. And then
- 39:53Speaker 1: when you start to quiver your way up with him.
- 39:55Speaker 1: When I was back, I was like, wait a second
- 40:00Speaker 1: about it. They were like holy shit, and you stand
- 40:03Speaker 1: up and then when you mouth fuck it yeah, and
- 40:06Speaker 1: then on the back, I was like, holy shit, Yeah
- 40:10Speaker 1: he might not. I in my dumb brain, I'm like,
- 40:12Speaker 1: he might fucking knock him out.
- 40:15Speaker 2: You might fucking do it. Well, what's really funny is
- 40:17Speaker 2: we already have history. I did it in the first fight, right,
- 40:19Speaker 2: And I think when he had my back that thought
- 40:22Speaker 2: went through my mind a couple of different times during
- 40:24Speaker 2: the fight. But I'm like, no, it takes a lot
- 40:26Speaker 2: of energy. It's there's a one percent chance that it
- 40:30Speaker 2: helps out and does something cool. It's just a cool
- 40:32Speaker 2: it's a wow factor type of situation. But with forty
- 40:35Speaker 2: seconds left in the fight, You're like, let's wow one,
- 40:37Speaker 2: let's give the seconds if you yeah, go back to
- 40:39Speaker 2: the other clip. Yeah, it's like thirteen seconds left. Thirteen
- 40:42Speaker 2: seconds left. That was the second one, Yeah, was it? Yeah? Dude?
- 40:45Speaker 1: Yeah, just walking through he's got your leg. You're just
- 40:47Speaker 1: fucking hobbling over. Yeah, And I hey, did you tap
- 40:51Speaker 1: at the end?
- 40:52Speaker 2: Well, so that I thank god because you were so
- 40:57Speaker 2: technically I kind of did, but it was more like
- 40:59Speaker 2: a good job, buddy, he freaking did this, uh and
- 41:03Speaker 2: kissed me. It was like a show of respect type
- 41:05Speaker 2: of thing. It was like a good you know, like
- 41:07Speaker 2: you never heard.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Of a man seeking his tongue respect.
- 41:10Speaker 3: You just do the body things twice. He's hanging on
- 41:12Speaker 3: You're both just being showman.
- 41:13Speaker 2: Yeah, what that was. That was like a moment for us.
- 41:16Speaker 2: And I look back at it and people people are like, oh,
- 41:18Speaker 2: he tapped, you should and like and but and that's
- 41:20Speaker 2: where the referee did not. I guess you would say,
- 41:24Speaker 2: like follow the rules. It's like if he saw a tap,
- 41:26Speaker 2: he should, but he knows what's happening. He He's refed
- 41:30Speaker 2: thousands of fights. Charles Olvera does not have a submission.
- 41:33Speaker 2: As a matter of fact, his arms are loose around me.
- 41:35Speaker 2: I'm not tapping. It was a it was a pat
- 41:38Speaker 2: on the competitor, right. But yeah, I look back and
- 41:41Speaker 2: I'm like, dude, thank god, that would have that would
- 41:44Speaker 2: that would have sucked.
- 41:45Speaker 1: I mean, bro pulls it off left on the clock.
- 41:49Speaker 2: I know, right, you know, and it's but it was
- 41:52Speaker 2: I think he knew what was happening there. We're both smiling,
- 41:55Speaker 2: we're both DA's the fucking the It was late.
- 42:03Speaker 5: Before the fight, Bruce Buffer, did ad read for a
- 42:05Speaker 5: Gladiator too? And then your fight happens. I'm like, whoever's
- 42:08Speaker 5: in charge of Gladiator to put Mike in the trailer?
- 42:13Speaker 2: Yeah? I don't think that's a coincidence that they waited
- 42:16Speaker 2: till my fight to do that, you know, because obviously Gladiator. Yeah,
- 42:21Speaker 2: well yeah, I guess are you not entertained? That's a
- 42:22Speaker 2: freaking Gladiator. Damn dude, Yeah, I need to I need
- 42:26Speaker 2: to holler at the freaking they filmed that coming out
- 42:29Speaker 2: im out this week day man kid rocks losing.
- 42:32Speaker 1: You see Jelly's arm waving around.
- 42:34Speaker 2: I will say I've been getting sent videos of the
- 42:38Speaker 2: second slam because obviously the first one happens, and the
- 42:40Speaker 2: whole entire Madison Square garden is on their feet. The
- 42:43Speaker 2: entire Madison Square garden is on their feet, because especially
- 42:47Speaker 2: when people saw me getting like struggling my way to
- 42:51Speaker 2: my feet for the second one, people were like, oh shit,
- 42:53Speaker 2: he's gonna do it again, Like he's gonna do it again.
- 42:56Speaker 2: We're about to see it again, and It was a Devin,
- 43:00Speaker 2: uh my buddy Devin, who sent me one where he's
- 43:02Speaker 2: a little bit far back where you can kind of
- 43:04Speaker 2: see twelve thousand of the twenty thousand people and they're
- 43:07Speaker 2: all standing up and half of them were waving their
- 43:09Speaker 2: hands in there. They're like they're like, he's gonna do
- 43:12Speaker 2: it again. You know.
- 43:14Speaker 1: It was insane.
- 43:16Speaker 2: Mike United America.
- 43:18Speaker 1: Yeah, good brought it back.
- 43:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that's that's ah, that's where the that's
- 43:23Speaker 2: where the fight was out the window at that point.
- 43:25Speaker 2: It was just like, hey, we're I'm living my best life,
- 43:28Speaker 2: Like I'm doing this right now and I'm gonna live
- 43:31Speaker 2: my best life and we're gonna do something spectacular. What
- 43:34Speaker 2: was it Dana said? And I love that he said it.
- 43:36Speaker 2: He said, I'm in the business of making holy shit moments.
- 43:40Speaker 2: You know. That's what he does. That's what he sells.
- 43:42Speaker 2: He doesn't sell fights, he doesn't sell competition, he doesn't
- 43:45Speaker 2: sell the UFC. He's selling holy shit moments, you know,
- 43:49Speaker 2: Like that's what he does. And you're six for six,
- 43:53Speaker 2: I ain't going anywhere, you know, like that's where and
- 43:57Speaker 2: that was one of those things. Yeah, So what do
- 44:00Speaker 2: you think's next? Well there's only one the call out. Yeah, yeah,
- 44:06Speaker 2: I mean I had my whole I had my whole
- 44:08Speaker 2: speech lined out. You know, I was gonna I was
- 44:10Speaker 2: gonna win, do my job. I was gonna call it
- 44:12Speaker 2: Islam or Max for the BMF belt or Connor obviously,
- 44:16Speaker 2: but obviously I was. I was one hundred percent said
- 44:18Speaker 2: I wanted to fight Islam next or Arman could win that.
- 44:20Speaker 2: But I think his Lam wins. But and I was
- 44:23Speaker 2: gonna be cage sided for it. Still might be go
- 44:26Speaker 2: out there to do some appearances. Everybody loves La. We'll
- 44:29Speaker 2: go to l A Boys. Yeah, you know, so looks
- 44:33Speaker 2: like it's gonna be Connor next.
- 44:35Speaker 1: Do you what do you think the reality of Connor
- 44:37Speaker 1: is guys on the yacht, five hundred million dollars whatever
- 44:41Speaker 1: he's got, breaks the pinky toe.
- 44:43Speaker 2: In court, in court right now. Yeah, tough week for
- 44:46Speaker 2: the boy, tough week, tough week.
- 44:47Speaker 1: Do you think this is is a real reality that
- 44:50Speaker 1: he comes back to the octagon.
- 44:52Speaker 2: I'm not saying it's a real reality, but I am
- 44:54Speaker 2: saying if he does, his road comes straight through Nashville, Tennessee.
- 44:57Speaker 2: You know, like his road back to the UFC. We
- 45:00Speaker 2: have to finish the Ultimate Fighter. The UFC wants to
- 45:02Speaker 2: finish the Ultimate fighter. Connor wants to fight me, like
- 45:05Speaker 2: there's he can fight anybody. But he made a commitment,
- 45:09Speaker 2: you know, And I've said this numerous times. I have
- 45:10Speaker 2: no problem giving my opponents props like I think he is.
- 45:14Speaker 2: He's more sentimental and romantic about the sport than people
- 45:17Speaker 2: give him credit for, because he has become this big, infamous,
- 45:21Speaker 2: you know brand, right, But he knows he's nothing without
- 45:25Speaker 2: that UFC octagon. He knows he's nothing without the UFC.
- 45:28Speaker 2: He was a plumber on welfare, sleeping on a couch,
- 45:32Speaker 2: and without the UFC, he's he's nothing, you know. And
- 45:36Speaker 2: I don't say that to taking anything away from him.
- 45:37Speaker 2: We all know, you know, we need our we need
- 45:41Speaker 2: our employers or our brands or whatever to take us
- 45:45Speaker 2: to the next level and create the life. Right. So
- 45:49Speaker 2: I think he wants to see through to his commitment.
- 45:51Speaker 2: Quite frankly, I mean, he needs to come back, he
- 45:55Speaker 2: needs something to chase, or else he's going to keep
- 45:57Speaker 2: chasing the wrong things. And if he does, there's a
- 46:01Speaker 2: guy waiting. And it just so happens that I think
- 46:03Speaker 2: I'm one of the top draws in the UFC, like there,
- 46:05Speaker 2: people will pay good money to watch me fight no
- 46:09Speaker 2: matter what. It's OH ship moments NonStop, dude, because I
- 46:13Speaker 2: I will give them to you, like I am guaranteed
- 46:16Speaker 2: to give them to you. And I and I might
- 46:17Speaker 2: be the only guy in the UFC who will guarantee
- 46:21Speaker 2: that you will have an O ship moment. And I
- 46:25Speaker 2: wear that proudly. And uh, here we are so Connor's
- 46:28Speaker 2: gonna come back. If he comes back, he's fighting me as.
- 46:31Speaker 1: You uh exit the octagon E sifting and a left tack,
- 46:34Speaker 1: a hard right because me Jelly JP tailing Brie. We're
- 46:38Speaker 1: all waiting for you. Take a hard right. Go see
- 46:41Speaker 1: old forty seven?
- 46:42Speaker 2: Yeah, would you say them just shoot? You know, shook
- 46:46Speaker 2: his hand and he he said, uh, he said awesome
- 46:49Speaker 2: fight you're a warrior or whatever, and he whispered him. Yeah,
- 46:52Speaker 2: he he whispered him. Do There was a really cool
- 46:54Speaker 2: shot actually of him whispering in my ear and he
- 46:58Speaker 2: was just like you were one bad mone type of deal,
- 47:01Speaker 2: you know, Like it was pretty freaking cool. And I
- 47:02Speaker 2: was like, well you are, thank you for saving our country.
- 47:05Speaker 2: And then from there it was like the entire Avengers
- 47:08Speaker 2: squad was there, Like the entire group of people that
- 47:12Speaker 2: is going to set our country in the right direction
- 47:15Speaker 2: is there. Plus, my one of my favorite people is
- 47:17Speaker 2: Tulsi Gabbard.
- 47:19Speaker 1: You see what's up to her? Yeah, that was obviously
- 47:22Speaker 1: the first time I met her. She is she's got
- 47:24Speaker 1: a calm confidence about her. She's got to know her
- 47:26Speaker 1: about her, like when she speaks, she just sounds like
- 47:29Speaker 1: I was in O eight when Obama was running for president.
- 47:33Speaker 1: I didn't know shit about politics, still really don't, but
- 47:36Speaker 1: I would watch Obama and be like, Yo, this guy
- 47:38Speaker 1: just sounds amazing when he speaks, has no idea what
- 47:40Speaker 1: he's actually saying. Tulsa gives me the same vibe. It's
- 47:42Speaker 1: like she just holds herself very confidently. She had a
- 47:45Speaker 1: great energy about her when we were sitting there, and
- 47:47Speaker 1: when she speaks, she just sounds like she really just
- 47:50Speaker 1: speaks very well.
- 47:51Speaker 2: Tulca Gabbard is going to be the first female president.
- 47:55Speaker 2: That's that's what that's my hope. I hope Toulsi Gabbert
- 47:58Speaker 2: is the first female president for you States. So the
- 48:01Speaker 2: streets you're saying.
- 48:02Speaker 1: Yeah, the whispers, the CLAMBRANX.
- 48:03Speaker 2: Yeah, she's is which is great. I mean, I love
- 48:06Speaker 2: that she's what is she Director of National Intelligence, which
- 48:10Speaker 2: is really funny because they put her on like the
- 48:11Speaker 2: terror watch list and all this stuff. It's just like,
- 48:14Speaker 2: what's really cool from the political side is to see
- 48:17Speaker 2: the political establishment start to freak out about how unqualified, dangerous,
- 48:22Speaker 2: and scary all these people are because they are threatening
- 48:26Speaker 2: the bureaucracy that has been there going on for the
- 48:29Speaker 2: last one hundred years and had us taking steps backwards
- 48:34Speaker 2: because those people have been in power, you know, the
- 48:36Speaker 2: left has been in power, what twelve of the last
- 48:38Speaker 2: sixteen years, you know, And so it's exciting. And either way,
- 48:43Speaker 2: whether you voted one side or the other or you're
- 48:45Speaker 2: upset about one or the other, either way, it's a change. Like, hey,
- 48:49Speaker 2: let's just give it a shot. Right, It's no different
- 48:51Speaker 2: than your seven years into your NFL career. Let me,
- 48:54Speaker 2: let me just try this thing. It's a little on
- 48:55Speaker 2: the fringe. It's a little some people hate it, some
- 48:57Speaker 2: people love it. But let's just try this thing. Like,
- 48:59Speaker 2: let's try to have a freaking rocket scientist. Let's try
- 49:02Speaker 2: to have a guy who was independent in the middle,
- 49:06Speaker 2: he was on the left and has now come over
- 49:07Speaker 2: to the right, like, let's just try it. Let's try
- 49:09Speaker 2: this thing. It's a little bit different than just a
- 49:12Speaker 2: bunch of suits who have been living the public service
- 49:17Speaker 2: life for the last forty years and don't have a
- 49:21Speaker 2: lot of actual moving the country forward to show for it.
- 49:24Speaker 3: And they got everybody they went in like if if
- 49:26Speaker 3: it's gonna happen, it's gonna be now.
- 49:27Speaker 2: Yeah. And then and then if a guy like me,
- 49:29Speaker 2: who is one hundred percent on board, I look back
- 49:31Speaker 2: and be like, yeah, rocket science is he's an idiot
- 49:33Speaker 2: in politics, he should he was the wrong guy. RFK, Yeah,
- 49:37Speaker 2: he's an idiot. Never mind. We had high hopes, right,
- 49:40Speaker 2: But it's like, let's just try something different. That's what
- 49:42Speaker 2: America does, dude. America makes innovations and they take big risks,
- 49:47Speaker 2: and that was what then the country was founded upon.
- 49:50Speaker 2: You know.
- 49:51Speaker 1: He brought up a good point of the hope thing.
- 49:53Speaker 1: And it's like, regardless of left or right or whatever,
- 49:55Speaker 1: whoever wins, wherever side of the aisle you lay on,
- 49:58Speaker 1: you you want hope, Like, hey, if it wasn't my choice,
- 50:01Speaker 1: let's hope this works out for the best, because a
- 50:03Speaker 1: the end of the day, we just want our country
- 50:05Speaker 1: to do as well.
- 50:06Speaker 3: I'm still gonna be raising a beard before July.
- 50:08Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think Trump said it. He said it
- 50:11Speaker 2: and maybe his uh acceptance speech or whatever, you know, uh,
- 50:15Speaker 2: and he said it. It's great. It's like success brings
- 50:18Speaker 2: people together. And if if we are successful with the boys,
- 50:23Speaker 2: get you really right exactly?
- 50:25Speaker 1: You know it's what you watched.
- 50:27Speaker 2: I did watch I Can Forget, which is freaking amazing.
- 50:35Speaker 2: You know, like success brings people together. Dude, it's like
- 50:37Speaker 2: love me or hate me. If I make your life better,
- 50:40Speaker 2: you gotta give me props for that. You're happy about it?
- 50:44Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of the fear and a lot of
- 50:46Speaker 1: the stuff, like hopefully everything just calms down the next
- 50:48Speaker 1: couple of years.
- 50:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's been. It's been pretty pretty good
- 50:51Speaker 2: and cordial. Don't watch the news and just live your
- 50:53Speaker 2: life and.
- 50:54Speaker 1: Well, yeah, we're gonna keep doing what we do, just
- 50:58Speaker 1: having people on Tuesdays, come on, the froom comes out
- 51:01Speaker 1: on Thursdays, right.
- 51:02Speaker 2: Dan, play video games?
- 51:04Speaker 1: Yeah, at one o'clock today, right now? So em I
- 51:10Speaker 1: would have you already gotten the MRI.
- 51:11Speaker 2: I No, I'm hounded him. I'm like, I want it today.
- 51:14Speaker 1: You should have they should have given it to you,
- 51:15Speaker 1: like right after the fight, but the next morning.
- 51:18Speaker 2: Well yeah, I mean that was that was partly me
- 51:20Speaker 2: because like I wanted to get I wanted to just
- 51:22Speaker 2: not be held hostage in New York. And you know.
- 51:26Speaker 1: You should have got them, Mikey.
- 51:28Speaker 2: Maybe be a professional. I know, you need to do
- 51:30Speaker 2: it the next day.
- 51:31Speaker 1: I wanted to play game a little OUCHI they give
- 51:33Speaker 1: you a nemoraiah the next day, I know, but get
- 51:36Speaker 1: an amor. I don't go on a plane. Yeah right,
- 51:38Speaker 1: inflamation going exactly, That's what it's. Just maybe have a
- 51:43Speaker 1: little fun with you.
- 51:44Speaker 2: Look, maybe it's just the inflammation from the plane. Maybe
- 51:46Speaker 2: that he's fine. That's what I'm saying.
- 51:48Speaker 1: We were not making any excuses little red light therapy.
- 51:52Speaker 2: If you had, if you knew what the m ri
- 51:53Speaker 2: I would say, what would you guess? It would say,
- 51:56Speaker 2: I don't know, I don't I really don't want to.
- 51:58Speaker 1: Let's let's play doctor, let's play doll te med.
- 52:01Speaker 2: I really don't want to know. But uh, I don't know.
- 52:03Speaker 2: Either way.
- 52:04Speaker 3: When the mri I comes up for your knee, put
- 52:06Speaker 3: the pit bull on it the game yeah yeah.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Yeah, well yeah we can uh we can break it
- 52:11Speaker 2: down on the next episode of Busting with the Boys.
- 52:13Speaker 2: But I don't even if there's a road to recover,
- 52:15Speaker 2: there's a road to recovery, the timeline will work out fine,
- 52:19Speaker 2: you know. I think I think me and Connor International
- 52:21Speaker 2: Fight Week is the next fight. That's what I'm throwing
- 52:23Speaker 2: out there, Like I think in July.
- 52:25Speaker 1: When do you think, when do those conversations start to happen?
- 52:27Speaker 1: Give us a timeline on that? When do you know
- 52:29Speaker 1: if that's a reality?
- 52:30Speaker 2: Uh well, I mean I got to see what's up
- 52:32Speaker 2: with the body right.
- 52:34Speaker 1: Now, which you should have done a couple of days ago, I.
- 52:35Speaker 2: Know, But uh, I'll talk to Hunter in the next
- 52:38Speaker 2: couple of days. You know. Well, I'm sure he's given
- 52:40Speaker 2: me a little time right now, are yeah. I mean,
- 52:43Speaker 2: no matter what it's like Chandler versus anybody is is
- 52:48Speaker 2: a thumbs up for the UFC right now.
- 52:49Speaker 1: So okay, So let's say Connor's done, he rides off
- 52:53Speaker 1: in the sunset.
- 52:53Speaker 2: That's it.
- 52:54Speaker 1: What in your perfect world? Who are you fighting next?
- 52:57Speaker 2: Max Holloway for the BMF belt? You know, I mean,
- 52:59Speaker 2: I'm I don't know what my ranking is now, probably
- 53:03Speaker 2: still seven ish or whatever. He's number five because he
- 53:05Speaker 2: beat Gai Chie. You know. So like you got two
- 53:07Speaker 2: guys inside the top ten BMF Belt one fifty five
- 53:12Speaker 2: Chandler versus gay Chee two. That's a big fight. You know,
- 53:16Speaker 2: that's another banger.
- 53:19Speaker 5: You know.
- 53:20Speaker 2: That was fifty five. Yeah, I would love to fight
- 53:26Speaker 2: a one seventy as much as it suck to just
- 53:27Speaker 2: get to it's like a different human. Yeah, it's you
- 53:30Speaker 2: step on the way in and everything else. I'm like
- 53:33Speaker 2: being around you as much as we have the last
- 53:34Speaker 2: few years. It's you can just see how much work
- 53:37Speaker 2: and effort it is to get down there. It's yeah,
- 53:39Speaker 2: it's calorie restricted every day. Like I did not have
- 53:42Speaker 2: one day in which my calories exceeded my burning calories.
- 53:47Speaker 2: Like my resting metabolic rate was like thirty five hundred
- 53:50Speaker 2: to thirty eight hundred or something like that, and I
- 53:52Speaker 2: was ingested like twelve hundred and fifty hundred calaries.
- 53:54Speaker 3: I mean, you look at working out three times person
- 53:56Speaker 3: right now compared to when yeah.
- 53:58Speaker 2: Well I'm a little swollen. Yeah, I'm a little swollen
- 53:59Speaker 2: right now. Yeah, like just my whole body, Yeah, my
- 54:03Speaker 2: whole body has inflamed.
- 54:06Speaker 3: He didn't let any damage on he's got a black guy.
- 54:08Speaker 1: Yeah, my head's fine. Look at me, like, yeah, look
- 54:10Speaker 1: at you. I was like that. People like, yo, what happened?
- 54:13Speaker 2: Well yeah, but you forgot what I got on the
- 54:15Speaker 2: bus after Getchee, even freaking after poor Yeah yeah, you know,
- 54:19Speaker 2: like face was much more.
- 54:20Speaker 1: Do you take on Holloway? You're standing up with him?
- 54:23Speaker 1: What's the deal? You swing out? I don't want He's
- 54:25Speaker 1: literally giving guys, you know, pointers during fights. Yeah, he's
- 54:29Speaker 1: looking away while throwing jabbies.
- 54:30Speaker 2: You don't want to now because you just came home
- 54:32Speaker 2: and hugged your kids. Yeah, I know when you're in
- 54:34Speaker 2: that cave. Oh yeah, that guy's a psycho. That guy.
- 54:36Speaker 2: That guy will stand with Max Holliday for five rounds
- 54:38Speaker 2: and be willing to die in there. You know which
- 54:42Speaker 2: is you know, it's great. I know I got an
- 54:45Speaker 2: Emmy and uh we'll never lose it. So yeah, that
- 54:48Speaker 2: would be a fun one. I would love to fight
- 54:50Speaker 2: at one seventy though, but it's gotta be the right
- 54:52Speaker 2: fight at one seventy.
- 54:53Speaker 1: You know what you didn't do in your last fight?
- 54:56Speaker 2: See it, that's up? No, I didn't be fest Oh
- 55:00Speaker 2: dang it, you're right. We talked about it because I
- 55:03Speaker 2: had to go forward to do that. I was fighting
- 55:06Speaker 2: backwards the entire free.
- 55:07Speaker 1: You say, you don't have an excuse, but we did
- 55:10Speaker 1: talk about We talked about it the day of the
- 55:12Speaker 1: day before before, Hey bro spinning back first.
- 55:15Speaker 2: Yeah, dang, it didn't happen, he laughed.
- 55:19Speaker 1: He goes, yeah, I could do that. I'm thinking myself, do.
- 55:21Speaker 2: It, seriously? Do it?
- 55:24Speaker 1: I need Could you imagine a little spin.
- 55:27Speaker 2: That would have been awesome?
- 55:28Speaker 1: Get in there at one two? Stomach? Should you got
- 55:30Speaker 1: should you have got Charles's body a little bit more?
- 55:32Speaker 1: Get his hands down?
- 55:33Speaker 2: Yeah? I didn't know the body at all. I mean
- 55:36Speaker 2: part of that.
- 55:37Speaker 1: I'll tell you what you need to have. You gotta have.
- 55:40Speaker 1: You gotta have JP in your corner. JP was falling
- 55:44Speaker 1: things out. He's like, if he goes to the body
- 55:46Speaker 1: a little bit more, Oliver, his hands are way too high.
- 55:49Speaker 1: Right now. JP is on his ship.
- 55:51Speaker 2: Yeah he is. I needed you to break down the footage.
- 55:55Speaker 2: We can do that.
- 55:55Speaker 5: You'll check out Mike's YouTube channel. We'll be on there,
- 55:58Speaker 5: break there, break it down for me. This could be
- 56:01Speaker 5: a crazy one and maybe it's a bad idea of
- 56:03Speaker 5: but no bad ideas and brainsworm for next fight. Wise,
- 56:07Speaker 5: if Vulk loses this, it looks like he's going to
- 56:10Speaker 5: get a rematch. Yeah, like maybe a Chandler Vulcan Chandler
- 56:15Speaker 5: Vulcant fifty five. He would love to He would probably
- 56:17Speaker 5: even love to go to one seventy.
- 56:19Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that would be fun. I mean yeah, we
- 56:21Speaker 2: should just we should just normalize. We should just normalize
- 56:23Speaker 2: fighting at our our normal weights, like that would be great.
- 56:27Speaker 1: You know you hated that, Yeah, it's uh, but but
- 56:32Speaker 1: I'm so damn good at it though.
- 56:33Speaker 2: That's that's what's crazy. Is like, even the hard stuff
- 56:37Speaker 2: for me, it's just it just from it needs to.
- 56:40Speaker 2: I wish people could see what I went through the
- 56:42Speaker 2: last twelve weeks, and it's like, yeah, it sucked. But
- 56:45Speaker 2: if you just stick to a plan and you do it,
- 56:46Speaker 2: and you have discipline and you do not cheat whatsoever,
- 56:50Speaker 2: it's all doable. Like I honestly had a very very
- 56:53Speaker 2: easy weightcut. Did it suck absolutely? Was it painful, yes?
- 56:56Speaker 2: Was it uncomfortable. Was I ticked off? Yes? But it
- 56:58Speaker 2: was a it was an easy weightcut. But the weight
- 57:00Speaker 2: cut doesn't start the fight week. Weightcut started twelve weeks prior.
- 57:04Speaker 2: I mean the weight cut started when I I mean,
- 57:06Speaker 2: I had that conversation with you about Hey, dude, here's
- 57:08Speaker 2: the options here, what's going on. I was like, I
- 57:10Speaker 2: don't want to go to one fifty five. I was
- 57:11Speaker 2: in the middle of like starting to calorie restrict. I'm
- 57:14Speaker 2: weighing like one ninety something, one ninety one, and I'm
- 57:17Speaker 2: like starting a calorie restrict because they wanted me to
- 57:20Speaker 2: fight October fifth. And I was like, Hunter, I dude,
- 57:23Speaker 2: you I will make I will make weight. I will
- 57:26Speaker 2: make weight if I give you my commitment and I
- 57:28Speaker 2: signed my name on the down line, I will make weight.
- 57:30Speaker 2: I just think I'm gonna be a shell of a
- 57:31Speaker 2: human being inside of the octagon, and I'm gonna be
- 57:34Speaker 2: frail and it probably banged up because of this hard
- 57:37Speaker 2: weight cut. For it's too soon. Can we do Madison
- 57:42Speaker 2: Square Garden? And he said no at first, and then
- 57:45Speaker 2: obviously we know how it played out. I fought at
- 57:46Speaker 2: Madison Square Garden, but I was in the middle. I
- 57:50Speaker 2: started way soon because I needed to go from a
- 57:52Speaker 2: one to seventy body type down to a one to
- 57:54Speaker 2: fifty five bud cut. Let's get down to like two
- 57:57Speaker 2: hundred or so.
- 57:57Speaker 1: Wait till wait after the holiday season.
- 57:59Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, let's were the boys about. We're about to
- 58:01Speaker 2: have a fun couple of week month and a half
- 58:03Speaker 2: a right, just fired me up. Hey, I gotta ge, dude.
- 58:08Speaker 2: I can't give up the dark chocolate buttercuffs. Man, they
- 58:11Speaker 2: crumble me.
- 58:12Speaker 3: I know their peanut butter pretzel bites.
- 58:15Speaker 2: God, well that you yearned for them. That's where Yeah,
- 58:18Speaker 2: that's why I yearned for them. That's where I'm getting
- 58:20Speaker 2: my head wrapped around. Like if I got to get
- 58:22Speaker 2: you know, any kind of surgery or something, I'm like, Okay,
- 58:24Speaker 2: I'm going straight carnivore the whole time. I'm a freaking
- 58:27Speaker 2: gonna be in my red.
- 58:29Speaker 1: Because we have the most buttered turkey, oh, the most buttery.
- 58:33Speaker 1: We're doing a competition this year in the one household.
- 58:35Speaker 1: Anybody who comes over who wants to participate will have
- 58:37Speaker 1: a scale, right Yeah, yeah, winner take all.
- 58:41Speaker 2: I'm gonna win. An I can manipulate my weight so well,
- 58:45Speaker 2: I can manipulate my weight so well, I'm gonna show. Yeah,
- 58:49Speaker 2: he went back.
- 58:49Speaker 3: She went from three to ten to what are you
- 58:52Speaker 3: like to forty?
- 58:53Speaker 2: Then'll be disrespectful.
- 58:56Speaker 1: What are you talking?
- 58:56Speaker 2: Great, dude, thank you, it's phenomenal. It wasn't that. It
- 58:59Speaker 2: wasn't shot you lost you.
- 59:01Speaker 1: There was there was when I was in the two forties.
- 59:03Speaker 1: We'll give me the whole hate you doing the home
- 59:05Speaker 1: shoulders forward. You're getting a little too skinny.
- 59:08Speaker 2: He looks a little sick face exactly.
- 59:10Speaker 1: He sat me down a little bit, and I was like,
- 59:11Speaker 1: all right, I gotta put like ten more pounds on it.
- 59:13Speaker 1: It's gonna be five, but I think I'm gonna try
- 59:15Speaker 1: to I'm gonna wait. Cut it's like two forty five
- 59:17Speaker 1: for Thanksgiving, which is the week.
- 59:18Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. I'm gonna have to do that.
- 59:20Speaker 1: Yeah, no, it isn't. You stay where you're at, buddy.
- 59:22Speaker 1: I'm gonna I'm putting fifteen pounds on the day of Thanksgiving.
- 59:26Speaker 1: Calling it now you're sleeping on Mitch, Mitch. But mitche
- 59:30Speaker 1: here's here's Mitch. Mitch stays with the carbs. When you
- 59:34Speaker 1: cut carbs, you lose water weight so fast. So when
- 59:38Speaker 1: I if I have no carbs, I did fuck up
- 59:40Speaker 1: in New York big time.
- 59:41Speaker 2: Hell carbs cars.
- 59:45Speaker 1: But if I have no cars from now till Thanksgiving,
- 59:48Speaker 1: I'll have like a free seven eight pounds that literally
- 59:51Speaker 1: will be like a piece of bread and I'll be done.
- 59:53Speaker 1: And then it's all about endurance. Brother, And you boys
- 59:55Speaker 1: have seen me eat when I eat?
- 59:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean yeah, you're a big boy.
- 59:58Speaker 1: Yeah, you're fucking.
- 59:59Speaker 5: After it, Roster. I'll make some odds on it. We'll
- 1:00:01Speaker 5: get it out there if people can bet on it.
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: We got to just do that one day in general,
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: like Thanksgiving. I know everybody's got their thing, but we
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: should just see if you can eat the most one day.
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: Everybody could a poster, dude. That would be morning contests,
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: can you get it? The bust and busting bowls just
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: like bowls of freaking whatever you decide.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: Spaghetti Tailor makes these like cinnamon rolls, dude, I'm telling you.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: She made him a week ago, and I was like,
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: first off, you fuck yourself. You should never make I've
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: told you I'm not doing a car until Thanksgiving up
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: to New York. But I told you sure Thanksgiving, I
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: was like, make one for everybody, and then make a
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: whole sep one because I'm meeting the whole thing. I'm
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: going Those Simon roles are insane, Bro're so good.
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: Yeah, those sour dough ones even put it full. We
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: had him last year, right, I mean you know, I
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: don't think.
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: You could Thanksgiving with Thanksgiving meals and everything else. Dang,
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: just letting you know, I don't think you can't.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: I love it. No, I love I love this. You're
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: probably right, but I'm like.
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: You too.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: There's like twelve of them boys. I'm kind of excited
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: about that challenge.
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: Yeah, those comes and people down the bus, even fans
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: included too. You have a way in at what seven
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: eight in the morning, post your scale, Yeah, post your scale,
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: and then what seven pm, eight pm?
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: Twelve hour window, twelve hour window.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: Hashtag busting bloated boys. We'll come up with the hashtag hashtag. Yeah,
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: you gotta do a water five to twenty busting busty boys.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: Yet to do a water cut busting turkey games.
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: Ye yeah, I'm a Wednesday next week. Let's do it.
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: When's it next week?
- 1:01:38Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: It's like me when I went in one fifty six
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: fifty five points six and then twelve hours later I
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: was on seventy five, So it's like twenty pounds.
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: What basically just explaining that that.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: Was more just dehydration, yeah. Dehydration. Well, water fast means
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: you're really only drinking water. This is more like not
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: drinking much water. I think. I think that the last
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: twenty four hours, I only drink like thirty two ounces
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: of water sixty four hours.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: And we should do that next Wednesday. How long does
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: it take?
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: I mean you just basically do a twenty four hour
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: one where you're not You're just dehydrating yourself for twenty
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: four hours.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: Can I have nicotine?
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: Yes? Okay, you get a coffee? Yeah, I mean coffee
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: dehydrate you? Right, Yeah, that'd be easy for me.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: You smacked that.
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: I'll be pissing gold sometimes, brother, should I got drinks?
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: You got that brown?
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: That's super water. Let's get to the water. Drink the water.
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: I love how you think I just sit on the
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: couch and I'm that at home. Well, sometimes no, I
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: take it.
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: I text it Will last night and he's like doing dishes,
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: just going after this.
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: I'm saying everything he said.
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: Steel was out there, he's getting Will is running the
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: scoreboard up right now.
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: At home. He's crushing.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: He's doing what he's got. That's grind, yeah, fun grind.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: When you were doing a water cut, was that you
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: right there. That's severe dehydration. No, my uh, I've been
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: in that little brown. I've been in that, the third one. Yeah,
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: I've been in that.
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I've been in the b Yeah, I've been the dehydrated.
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: I've not been. I mean, I don't understand why this
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: severely dehydrated is red. That looks like blood, right?
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: That blood one time was thirteen. It was kind of painful.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: That's why I was wondering if it was painful for you.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: I think, well, I think my whole body was in pain,
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: so I just wouldn't have really noticed. But but yeah,
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: it's definitely a different density, you know, because blood compared
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: to just urine, whole urethra, whatever that thing is.
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: How was it?
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: How was Brie after the fight?
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: She was good man like she she was. It was
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: tough before the fight because she hadn't done it. Twelve
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: weeks is over? Yeahah yeah, I mean that's four boards.
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: I remember seeing her Halloween. I was like, how are
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: you doing? That's right? We're in it, yeah, because she Yeah,
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: she she had a tough time with this one because
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: she hadn't done it in two years. I mean we
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: would have been together for ten twelve years, married for ten,
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: but she's been she's been used to you know, she's
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: been used to me fight every six months or so.
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: She didn't she wasn't used to it for two years,
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: you know. So it was a little bit out kids.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: Yeah and without Yeah, so's she's handling all that, and
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: then she's also handling the emotions. Like even when we
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: were in New York, like she on fight day, she
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: was just sitting in her hotel room by herself for
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: like five six hours. I was like, you're good. She's like, yeah,
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: I just hanging out. Just want to be by myself,
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: you know, because you're also not yourself. Like that's how
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: I am around fight week and stuff. It's like, hey, dude,
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: let's go do this, Let's go do have dinner. And
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: I'm like, now, because I'm going to be there, I'm
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: not going to be myself and I'm gonna be second
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: guessing how am I handling this interaction. I'm not myself.
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: I don't really want to be here. We're having a conversation,
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: but I don't really care about this conversation. And I'm
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: completely okay with giving myself permission to not care about
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: this conversation. Because I have to go fight in a
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: cage and twenty four hours type of thing, and she's
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: the same thing. It's like we had twenty five friends there, probably, right,
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: But she's like, I'm not the normal breed that you
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: guys are used to because my husband's about to go
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: fight in a cage and my body's doing weird things
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: and I don't have an appetite not sleeping well. And
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: you know, so she was happy after because once again,
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: I've never lost a fight. Like every time we're going
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: up right, like it's win, loser, draw. It's like whatever,
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: it sucks if you lose, but it's also like, hey,
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: the future looks bright. So you're just happy it's over,
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: you know, just happy. You're happy it's over and and
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: it and it worked out decent. Whatever, it's fine, you know,
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: and I'm home now. You're excited that I get to
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: come home and just be dad and husband for a
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: little while. Yeah, and uh yeah, so she was good after.
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: Well that's awesome, brother, We're happy for you, regardless of man.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: You put on an absolute show.
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: Oh ship moments, dude, Oh ship moments, win lose, Right,
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: we don't go gently, Yeah, we do not go quietly
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: into the holidays.
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: Yeah, get plumped, get excited. One we'll focus on the body.
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: Yeah, we're moving to the new house in a couple
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: of weeks.
- 1:05:59Speaker 4: So it's December fifth, before Christmas house. Yeah, so celebrating.
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: So yeah, we've got to move to all that stuff.
- 1:06:06Speaker 4: That'll be fun. Yeah, right down the road.
- 1:06:10Speaker 5: Maybe that won't be with the recovery, all the injuries,
- 1:06:12Speaker 5: having to move.
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: Yeah, you almost gotta hope for a surgery, right.
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: I am not. Yeah, I'm like, I do not want
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: to be that guy because I'm like, God, yeah, babe,
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: grab that box. Yeah that's good. Is that heavy good?
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: Well, put your back into the perfect time. That get
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: her one of those little weight belts that the movers had.
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: Let her start. Get her dolls.
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: She's got to be a back surgery, and then we're
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: both we're both on the freaking injured reserve.
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: That would be the worst. You're coming off of recovery.
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: She's going into recovery. It's like, now I gotta do
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: what I saw her do.
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: It'll be doing the j hoole workouts. Gotta get right moving.
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: Tell you what, thanks for coming on, bro, of course
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: I appreciate it. Always back on the bus. We love you, guys,
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: appreciate you
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: See you at the subscribe right five stars.
