  What changed, Obi-Wan from a good character, in our eyes to,

  like the character in our eyes. Yes.

  That a good way to put it. I think so.

  Yes, about that later. But this is a good segue into

  because this announcement is huge at the end of the episode.

  So yeah, yes, many of you already know through social

  Because I think you might have been before me because you were

  already like writing stories and doing research before I was.

  So like Clone Wars overall changed everything it just added

  more depth to you know my two favorite characters which is is

  Obi-Wan and Anakin so hmm. As a whole, the show did it

  right? But that those pivotal moments

  that said, holy shit. He's on another level than I
• 1:58
  ever. Ever knew or expected, was
• 2:01
  definitely landing at Point rain.
• 2:04
  And remember when we talked about in one episode our
• 2:07
  favorite Obi-Wan moments, yes. That was like when he ignites
• 2:12
  that saber and he's about to go in with like whatever broken
• 2:15
  ribs and broken, bones and internal, No bleeding that he
• 2:19
  has and he was gonna go fight anyway and go down fighting
• 2:23
  that. Yeah, I was like, oh, he's made
• 2:25
  us something totally different. I've always liked.
• 2:27
  Obi-Wan, un sir, Alec Guinness and now we can add Clone Wars /
• 2:34
  James Arnold Taylor to the list because of many moments.

  But that was like the defining moment when I was just Blown
• 2:41
  Away, really same thing like I've probably told the story
• 2:47
  before, I was like watching dishes, you know, and I would be
• 2:49
  like, put my laptop up and watch Clone Wars because it was a
• 2:52
  cartoon and I felt like it was maybe four kids, but I just
• 2:55
  wanted to see what was all about by landing at Point rain.

  I had to I like could not have a distraction while I watched it.

  Like that was a huge turning point in the show for me in
• 3:07
  general, which I'd love to, like Dive Into The geonosian Arc, in
• 3:12
  more depth at some point. But for sure his there Was like
• 3:16
  something at the beginning when I was like this is going to be
• 3:19
  different episode 40, be one and it was when Anakin says, don't
• 3:26
  worry about me. You just make sure you reach the
• 3:29
  landing Zone. Yeah.

  And I was like he's not going to reach the landing zone.
• 3:33
  Is he something Terrible's gonna happen?
• 3:37
  And we had never seen anything like that.
• 3:39
  Op1 just takes everything in stride up to that point.

  And, you know, he was always kind of like, Oh, and a kidney
• 3:47
  in every episode up to this point.

  And this is where he was suddenly injured and having to
• 3:55
  kind of power through it anyway and you see a level of
• 3:59
  compassion and kindness for the Clones with him and, and even
• 4:03
  some humor, or at the beginning. When he tell, sure Cody, that he
• 4:07
  didn't miss much, he had been chained to a hit a pole and
• 4:10
  attacks by humongous monster. Yes.

  But he left out that he also had The Misfortune of wearing a
• 4:17
  mullet the entire time, which is its own torture in a way.
• 4:24
  That's true. And it honestly him fighting on.

  Genosha, do you know, show is that how you say it?

  Now my brain is not working is like that was the only time the
• 4:33
  mullet looked good because it just like fell all loose around
• 4:36
  his. Yeah, it was a little wind blown
• 4:38
  and sweaty and yeah things instead of being quaffed in
• 4:42
  cloths and and big roll a deist yeah.

  Yeah, don't forget the big roller brushes, he sat under one
• 4:50
  of those big dome dryers to like get that and 1990s Mall music is

  playing while he's reading at Cosmo.

  A cosmo magazine. Exactly, I kind of like that

  But yeah, yeah. It's funny because He's already

  been to this planet. He's already had deal with these

  So but the best part is like it eventually.

  We see more whenever he goes underground with Anakin like in
• 5:41
  a later in a later episode where they go to the geonosian queen
• 5:45
  and he and he gets into his real humor and like so.

  We start to see in these earlier Seasons.

  The sassiness come alive. Yeah.

  It which I really like, because, as we've always said, Obi-Wan
• 6:00
  can be a little uptight. It can be a little too close,
• 6:04
  you know, to the code. And then we get to see him not
• 6:08
  only be a badass fighter but he fights with his crew.
• 6:13
  He was going to fight with him to the very end in landing at
• 6:16
  Point rain. But he's also When he's, you
• 6:20
  know, Anakin and them get there and he's able to relax and sit
• 6:23
  down, we then see him go into his strategy, his mental
• 6:29
  capacity, you know of of war and he does it while injured and
• 6:34
  sitting there, right? And I always thought that was
• 6:36
  such a nice addition that Obi-Wan continues to lend his
• 6:41
  skill to the fight, even if he's incapacitated in a physical
• 6:44
  manner. Yeah, yes. 100%.

  And There's also that moment at the end and our friend, our
• 6:55
  friend Ben. And now Patron they have been
• 6:58
  thanks. Ben, he sent me that moment and

  was saying, you know, Anakin's caring Obi-Wan to the ship and
• 7:06
  there he and his so kind of bickering about who has the
• 7:10
  higher count and then ki-adi-mundi is like 65.

  What do I win? Yeah, and Ben and I were both
• 7:15
  like wouldn't it be funny if Obi-Wan had a higher account?

  Then all of them? Em and he just kept it silent.

  Yeah. It's just keeping it to himself,

  like I'm not participating in this.

  I kind of like that. Actually even injured leg on the

  ground killed more, right? That's such a morbid game.

  Honestly, I got it doesn't need to be, it doesn't need to be

  Seriously it like I know that for the most part, they're

  usually talking about battle droids, but in this episode I

  sewed. These are living creatures that.

  word is, but like the morality, I guess, of their, a clan unto

  themselves. They're fighting in some way

  that they believe in something, they're protecting their own

  sovereignty. Yeah.

  Like I don't like, when one Core group of people come in and

  overtake. Another Core group of people
• 8:17
  that just as doesn't sit right with me.

  But in the interest of the story, it's all part of the

  greater. Right.

  More. That Palpatine is dictating and
• 8:27
  puppeteering and right. Exactly.

  Yeah. They're making weapons of mass
• 8:32
  destruction. Yeah.

  Right. Isn't that what they're doing

  different in to disarm it, right?

  Or they get stuck? Yeah, exactly.

  I don't remember the title. It's the one where Ahsoka and

  Truth be told I almost never watch that episode because I

  dislike beerus so much. I mean, hot tag.

  I don't care what. And to beerus, I know a lot of

  people care. A lot of people want to know if

  she's never going to show up, I don't care.

  Yeah, I just also find luminara a bit irritating, luminaries

  terrible. She is the coldest Jedi out

  there. Well, I noticed you at cuz I

  re-watched landing at Point range.

  Just before the so I was prepared and there's that part

  at the beginning where Anakin and Obi-Wan are kind of like
• 9:21
  bantering bickering at the The Briefing table and they're like,

  you just make sure you get there.

  And luminara's like gentlemen, we have a battle to fight and
• 9:32
  then she and ki-adi-mundi bow to each other, in the Hologram.

  And I was just like, you, two belong together, you are both
• 9:40
  sticks in the mud. Yes, yeah, yeah.

  I mean, I'm all for like, breaking up the old married
• 9:46
  couple bickering, which because it adds humor, right?
• 9:48
  But, yes, but it could go on and on some tact luminara.

  Some tact just ever it would be nice if she ever had any tact

  but she doesn't she just imagine all the Jedi were like her and

  ki-adi-mundi. It would be no fun to watch this

  show. Isn't it interesting?

  That the Jedi Council wrote a code that wanted people to be

  like those two. Yeah.

  Yeah. It's not as entertaining.

  It's not TV material, at least will say that.

  That Obi-Wan can balance. You can balance all of that and

  Numa oh, brings out this side of him that we never have seen

  before. Where he's so sweet and gets
• 10:51
  down on her level and speaks directly to You and understands
• 10:55
  her language. This is kind of where we start
• 10:57
  to see Obi-Wan actually speaks all these different languages,
• 10:59
  which I still always what? Yes, when he busted out in her
• 11:05
  language, I literally sat back I remember because I was not
• 11:08
  expecting it whatsoever. Yeah, and he like interpreted it
• 11:12
  and all this stuff and I just thought holy shit.

  This guy knows a lot. I just know, I don't know.

  I don't know. He's impressive.

  Most impressive. I have to say.

  Yeah, yeah, yeah of course. It's like it's a low-hanging

  fruit. It is.

  Yeah. I love that episode because he's

  this really great mix and a lot of it has to do with how James

  uses his voice to portray the like different levels for him.

  And that one, he's pretty light and quippy and You know, like,
• 11:50
  who's up for a challenge, you know, that kind of stuff, but
• 11:52
  then then you see him protect all the Clones, you know, from
• 11:56
  the giant tick beasts. Yeah, they know.

  That is so good. I love that scene on another
• 12:02
  level. It's so fun.

  And I like the way they show him, like, extend his hand and
• 12:08
  make them. Yeah, really powerful.

  Yes. And the Clones are surprised by
• 12:13
  it. So like, how long is he busted
• 12:15
  out? Probably not that off.

  I love that that Mom. It was incredible and Cody tells
• 12:21
  him to shut up, baby. All right.

  Well mostly, because isn't he trying to just not break his
• 12:28
  concentration? Yes.

  Probably. Yeah, Co and then you see, you
• 12:33
  see him with Numa where he's softened and sweet and protected
• 12:37
  even when he stands in front of her and like covers her eyes and
• 12:41
  all of that interaction, I just loved it was really different
• 12:44
  than how they had portrayed his character up to that point.
• 12:47
  They really started to open. The character up a lot more.
• 12:50
  And, and because he has so many Dynamic, so many Dynamics, I'm
• 12:57
  not sure that's the way to phrase it but he's a dynamic
• 12:59
  character. I found it way more engaging

  than some of the other characters who are always the
• 13:06
  same. You always get you know what you
• 13:09
  expect. And I think that's very true.

  That's why I like both of these episodes in particular because
• 13:15
  and further into the genoshan arc as well like what you were
• 13:18
  talking about The one where they go into the caves because open
• 13:21
  one does stuff. I didn't expect and it makes me
• 13:24
  laugh or it really surprises me. And yeah, these two episodes in
• 13:29
  particular are awesome. I think you could sum it up at
• 13:33
  least. I could sum it up for me when he
• 13:36
  displays characters of a leader that I would follow.

  That's when I really was like super impressed by him.

  Yeah, and that's when it turned from being a character.

  I admire to a character. I fucking Loved yeah.

  Same he because he's a good leader, but he's also
• 13:55
  compassionate. So he's able to like keep doing
• 13:58
  the mission without losing his Humanity.

  Right. And I think that's kind of what
• 14:04
  it's missing. When you, when you watch
• 14:06
  ki-adi-mundi even in that same episode because he is, you know,
• 14:12
  compassionate, I guess about his soldiers, that died and Landing
• 14:16
  it Point rain but he's still kind of like just keep Pushing
• 14:19
  forward keep going and like there's a lack of empathy in his
• 14:24
  voice for sure for sure. Yeah.

  He's it's the difference between let's say managers are bosses
• 14:33
  where they're checking all the boxes and they're doing all the
• 14:36
  things. But you you wouldn't confide in
• 14:40
  them, right, right. They don't go out of their way
• 14:43
  to really turn themselves into a human, they're just a manager,
• 14:47
  but then there's a leader. Who you would confide in, you
• 14:50
  would go to and he or she is still checking off all the boxes
• 14:54
  necessary for the mission. But you trust that person?
• 14:58
  Yeah. And that's the difference
• 14:59
  between Kenobi and many others. I think it's really true.

  I agree with you. It's the difference between like
• 15:08
  in creating a group of people who follow you, like the Loyalty
• 15:12
  that they're willing to give you because if you give back to
• 15:16
  them, they're willing to give you more You know, I've seen
• 15:20
  like I've seen that with my own bosses in the past, for sure.

  There are certain bosses like yes, of course.

  I'll do you ask me to do something extra.

  I'll do it because I know you're gonna understand when I need
• 15:31
  something from you later, you know, it's I don't know, he's
• 15:36
  such a good character and they just really is helping

  basically, from there on, they just like expanded to a crazy

  level. With that character in
• 15:44
  particular, I feel like almost more than Anakin it This.

  I feel like I'll be one because we like we knew where Anakin was
• 15:53
  headed and so they kind of led us.

  Oh yeah. Are we expected to go Obi-Wan?

  They took all these twists and turns that I really didn't

  expect them to ever take. It's funny.

  You mentioned Anakin because I can remember the moment that

  started to change from my preconceived Anakin to what.

  I now know, and love about the character through clone wars and
• 16:15
  that episode this has nothing to do with the title of this one.

  But you mentioned. It that one was strangely

  enough. The Pantera episode where we,

  orto plutonia put yatto Pluto. I can't say the name but the ice
• 16:29
  planet where they meet the they meet those creatures.

  And yes, we metrio chuchi for the first time and all this
• 16:37
  stuff, right? And Anakin they can't figure out
• 16:40
  how to communicate with these creatures, but he draws a
• 16:43
  picture and that's how they begin to form their bond and
• 16:49
  That was so brilliant that Anakin was the one that came up
• 16:51
  and I said, okay, all right, what are we doing here?
• 16:54
  We're building layers to this man that I already thought had
• 16:57
  enough layers, you know. So that that was like my moment

  in Clone Wars for that. But then you mentioned Numa and

  is it any surprise that Obi-Wan relates to Leia?

  Now, in the Kenobi show when he's already had right hands?

  That's such a good point. Oh my God.

  I didn't even think of that. Well, it's kind of the same.

  They didn't totally go away from how he gets on her level.

  He tries to speak to her the way that she speaks to him, you

  know, again, reaching her in a way that maybe someone else

  wouldn't be comfortable or able to lay is a very special

  character with a very special manner.

  Yeah about her. So that's so interesting because

  obviously he sort of raised Anakin Anakin even says that and

  one of the Clone Wars episodes that they never finished

  producing. He says you basically raised me

  like an older brother father, and then he is good with Numa.

  He's good with Ahsoka, he's actually pretty good with kids.

  But then at the Kenobi panel, we went to Ewan.

  McGregor said they wanted to show that he wasn't very good at

  it, with Leia, at first, that he was like, pretty bad at talking

  to her. I blame, I blame that on his

  isolation and his depression exotic that he Never lost his
• 18:19
  ability. It's just it was it was buried
• 18:22
  somewhere along with everything else and she brings it out of
• 18:26
  him and we salty. So God see it come back over
• 18:29
  time as like that last scene where he kneels down and speaks
• 18:33
  to her. That's so, like Numa that its
• 18:38
  Grandeur. I know this is like totally not
• 18:40
  a thing, but I wonder if he was Thinking of all the times like
• 18:47
  he had to speak to little Noma or any little child that he had
• 18:51
  to save. I'm sure there were others.

  You know. Yeah.

  It's just headcanon like you know the most flashing by yeah

  thinking of little Anakin to do. That makes it so sad.

  That's the tragedy. The tragedy that is Star Wars.

  I know, I love that idea of like that area that's unexplored.

  Have between Phantom Menace, an attack of the Clones, you know,

  like when Anakin is a little boy and Obi-Wan has trying to be a

  master and like they're both new to it.

  Like he has no idea how to teach a person and Anakin has no idea

  how to be a Jedi know. There's, there's a lot to

  explore their, which is why I'm writing a fake about it, but
• 19:35
  that's never nor there. Yeah, it would be cool to see

  maybe tales of the Jedi part 2. Oh, yeah.

  They could they could explore that there's so many options
• 19:46
  with animation and since tales of the Jedi is not exactly a
• 19:50
  what-if show but it is supposed to be more like fables, where
• 19:54
  they're not necessarily 100% Cannon.

  It's more like an idea or an exploration, about a character

  like filoni said that. I'm not just making that up,

  right? They could they could explore

  all kinds of ideas, you know? It's That show has a lot of
• 20:10
  potential and I'm excited that they're doing at least another
• 20:13
  season. Oh yeah, I hope it's better than

  the first, you know, we had our feelings about the first season,

  just some of the some of the episodes, a lot of them but it
• 20:23
  didn't pull me in the way Clone Wars pulled in the end, that's
• 20:27
  for sure. We'll see if they keep
• 20:29
  exploiting. I've said filoni has a history
• 20:32
  of having like a slow first season and not to a detriment.

  Even, you know, like Clone Wars season 1 was slow avatar The
• 20:40
  Last Airbender season one was slow and my opinion.

  Mando season 1 was very slow. Yeah, no, it's yeah, I agree.

  But I do trust him especially if he knows he has a resolution in
• 20:56
  mind that he's going to get us there in a way that by the end
• 20:58
  will be sobbing because it's like that happened.

  Even with Last Airbender, it was so good.

  It was worth the investment of watching all the seasons because

  it was so tied together really well to end and I, if Last Jedi
• 21:12
  not Last Jedi, oh, my Hales. Heels of the Jedi laughs should

  I that's that's gone, leave it opportunity is gone.

  What I meant was with tales of the Jedi.

  There are some really cool places he could go the actually

  like tie all of this together. So I'll Reserve full judgment

  until the end because same, I trust filoni.

  I also think that there's going to be at least a few episodes

  that will reel me in and since it's not, it's not crazy for me
• 21:44
  to To assume this or want for this, but since there wasn't a
• 21:48
  lot of Obi-Wan in Tales of the Jedi yet, I mean, so far maybe

  we'll get more in this one. Yeah, yeah, especially

  especially since there was a Kenobi show, maybe he's going to
• 21:58
  play not often at the show, but off the fact that there are a
• 22:01
  lot more fans, or maybe the fans of Obi-Wan have risen up and he
• 22:05
  has heard them, you know, that sort of thing.

  I mean, come on, hear us seriously.

  I I really think that Disney doesn't didn't know, maybe they
• 22:18
  know now, because they wouldn't do nobody's show and saw the
• 22:22
  insane reaction, that like fans really like Obi-Wan, and they

  really will devour content about him.

  That's what I'm hoping. Yeah, I remember when I've told

  this before, at Comic-Con the year that you and I went to
• 22:38
  Comic-Con together. I went to a Star Wars.

  The literature literature panel, where they The Books and Comics
• 22:43
  that were coming out and that was when they announced master
• 22:46
  and apprentice and heroes of the Republic which was also going to
• 22:52
  be, there's going to be an Obi One comic for that.

  And I went up to the exec afterwards and, you know me, I
• 22:58
  don't talk to anybody. I'm terrified of speaking to
• 23:00
  strangers and I said, like, thank you for making Obi-Wan
• 23:05
  content like we want it. Yes.

  And so, I hope that they listen to that kind of stuff.

  It seems like they take, An sometimes they take into account
• 23:15
  with the fans really want, but well, it's certainly a character
• 23:19
  that they have to be careful with.

  So he's still guilty. Yeah.

  So but I don't think that a 15-minute short would destroy

  anything that they've built up. It would only add to if we saw
