[upbeat rock music] Na, na, na, na, na, na. Down. Na, na, na, na-na-na, na-na, na, na. Hello, radio listener.
0:19
This is Full Spectrum Cycling. Show number 21- 2,114. 2,114. 2- do the 214th edition. Math is hard. Math is hard. 2- 200-ish. Ish. It's like 2-1-1-2. It's like a Rush album, but not really.
0:37
Every- everybody, we're gonna have to do the show very quietly today 'cause the po-po are in the building. [laughs] The po-po are in the building.
0:46
Yeah, had a little, uh- The dog ate your- Had a little burglary at the old shop building, uh- You said robbery. I thought it was like, gun in face bullshit. No, burglary.
0:55
Burglary is more the correct- And I was like, "Huh, yeah"... the correct term. I know. I was like, "Dude, for real?" At, uh- Then I saw the timing and the thing... late in the early morning of Tuesday was,
1:08
yeah, it kinda sucked. Uh, fortunately our shit's locked down pretty well, so we really didn't lose much, uh, f- from the shop. But other tenants of the building lost musical gear and,
1:22
um, other tools and all sorts of stuff, probably. That's a bum. That is a bum. Yeah, kinda sad.
1:27
And they, they got the footage from Ron at- I've got footage f- from our cameras of the guy stealing my broken-ass skateboard, which was broken in half 'cause coming- [laughs]...
1:36
you know, landing in the middle of it from a large jumpy thing broke it in half, uh, many years ago, and it was just on the wall as decoration, and my kick-ass Generac power washer. Unfortunate, but true.
1:48
The one that didn't work? Oh, it worked. Steven just cleaned the carbs and it worked great. Oh. He had just, uh, just- What can't Steven do? Jesus Christ. He's a man of many talents. He's a renaissance man.
1:58
Many, many talents, that guy. He's-- yes, very, very, very Robin Williams of him. He, uh, yeah, he can remodel your bathroom or your kitchen or- Yeah... he can fix your carburetor- He can tune up bike like no other...
2:10
on your power washer. Or just hang out on your porch and have a good conversation. Yeah. Has he been over to your house? No, but I feel like he should be. He should visit your porch. Yeah. I have a good porch.
2:20
You know the porch. I like your porch. Porch visiting is a common theme over at the- I can't quite get into my-... JJ house... yeah, I can't get into my porch yet.
2:27
I, I like it okay, but it's too close to the sidewalk- Well-... so I'm gonna hang out in the back... so, so is ours, but our out, our back is plagued by the annoying upstairs neighbor- Mm...
2:40
so the front is better to deal with. But the back is also plagued by the football games and track meets and- Yeah... other things at the high- That too [laughs]... the high schoolery. Oh, yes.
2:49
I have seen your daughter floating- Nice... past. [laughs] But I'm going like, "Wait, I know her," but I'm not gonna scream it out- Yeah... 'cause I'm just sitting out there having a smoke in the middle of the day.
2:58
Oh, you should totally do it. Uh- Scream, "I fucking know-" Well, I already did it to Henry twice after- Nice...
3:04
after we were speaking [laughs] and then going to dinner, and then he screamed at me, uh, on my way on Sunday. Nice. [laughs] And, uh- [laughs]... J.K. is here. So is Tony. Yeah. Have you noticed? This is Fen.
3:17
You probably recognize our voices by now. Yeah. Thank you for listening. It's awesome. Tolerate it. J- J.K., was that show not awesome Wednesday night? It was very good. It was better than I was expecting. Me too.
3:33
What, the Hot Chip show? Hot Chip. Hot Shit. Hot Chip? Hot Chip. Let's put it this way. What I'm listening to, I know exactly what the playlist is, and it didn't sound that mm-hmm, just listening to via Spotify. Okay.
3:50
But the stage presence, my God, it was different. Yes. Yes, very. But I liked it. I am, I am projecting. Did a, did a little cool down midweek here in, uh, Milwaukee. Oh, yes. I got- Windy and insane...
4:04
uh, yeah, I brought out my big, my big gloves. Uh, big mitts. It was, uh- I had two war gloves today.
4:10
[laughs] Well, it was a beautiful weekend, and we did some, did some rolling, did some- Yeah, until I got hit by a car. [laughs] Did the WMSC. We're-- well, let's, let's just, let's- Let's rewind here.
4:20
Yeah, let's- Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah... let's, let's just, let's just start with what we did that was good- Yeah... and we'll end with how you fucked up. We went down to- [laughs] I don't think I fucked up.
4:28
I think the driver did. No. You didn't stop at Subatic, is what you didn't do. Oh, all right. That, that is true. That was a fuck up.
4:37
[laughs] So we went down to Enlightened Brewing for the WMSC Listener and Give Us Our Shit party. And their 10-year Enlightened anniversary. An Enlightened s- that-- really? They've been around that long. Yeah.
4:48
Well, they haven't always been in that location, though. And they also used to be called, I think this is the greatest, their original name was the Enlightened Abider. Uh? Yeah, that was the original name of the brewery.
5:01
Are they some kinda, like, dude fans? Like, I, I... Dude Abides? I don't know. Yeah. That's-- I just think it's just hilarious that that was what their name originally was. And now it's just shortened to Enlightened.
5:10
Well, no- Yeah... 'cause they, they used to be in the, uh, the Lincoln Warehouse. Yep, yep. And that's when, uh, Zeto was like, "Hey, guys, hey, hey, hey. Get in here." And now in their space is, uh, TCB. New Barons.
5:24
New Barons. Yeah, New Barons. New Barons and Twisted Path. Yeah, th- but they were, before that even, they were up higher- Year before that... up higher. Then they were, uh- Year or up higher...
5:32
but now it's Taking Care of Business Brewing, which is supposed to be really good. And New Barons is on the corner. On the first floor. First floor. Yeah, this one's on, like, the second or third. Yeah. Whatever.
5:40
So there's two breweries in the same building. How do you compete? Come on. That's just- You don't... crazy. Crazy. What? [laughs] Uh, it was a really good, uh, it was a good show.
5:51
They had, uh, they had, they had stuff for us, which was nice. Yeah. I was, I was pleasantly surprised. I was using a very lightweight Road Runner, uh, s- I think it's, like, called the Slacker, I think, backpack.
6:02
That's a nice backpack, man. It's-- and it, it, and it fit the big WMSC... our sign- Yep... very nicely. It's been- I almost, I almost wanna just poach one to be like- Right... "Hey, can you give me one, too?"
6:13
It, which all of them- I'm sure they would've... they totally would've. But- I, I used my coffee mug already. Very happy with that. I didn't get a mug. I didn't want one.
6:21
I really don't have a place to put a good thing like that in a good place. So we had a pleasant ride down there, and then- And then we were gonna- Then we were gonna head home...
6:31
on, on, on the way, on the way- Lily pad on our way home... lily pad, we stopped at, uh- Sabbatical... ah, Sabbatical. And I was like- I wanted to- "I wanna go home. I'm just going home" I'm getting home to my family...
6:41
and then you're going home to your family. And then there was a guy that was passing you on the thing- Yeah, the-... and you, and you pushed the button... he was fast. It was an old dude on an old mountain bike. Yeah.
6:51
Oh, yeah, he was fast. Yeah. He was fast. And you wanted to just- Slick tires... you wanted to, you wanted to bitch with him. And- Well, I dusted him, but- Yeah, and then-... then I got dusted. Ta-da.
6:59
So, so- So now that we've come to the point where Tony gets- Now you stop-... hit by a car... now you stop it. [bell ringing] Tell us about the car-hitting situation.
7:08
Um- And I will go get myself a beer while you do that... I was at a stoplight, and the light, and he was right next to me in a minivan. I realized that he was an Uber driver. Never trust the minivan.
7:19
So the light changed. I'm literally crossing. It's the light where the Journal Sentinel building is, and- [laughs]... the Brat House is there.
7:28
And I take off, he takes off, and then he promptly pulls over into the bike lane to drop off his passengers. In which case I screamed, smacked the side of his window,
7:40
uh, banged the side of his window as I felt the bike going over my back- [laughs]... realizing I'm not gonna be able to stop this. It was the total, as anyone that's ever crashed on a bike- Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa...
7:50
the slow motion effect of the bike coming over the top of you. Come back here, you rabbit... uh, yeah, right. That, I love that episode. I am totally on ether now. Um, and, uh,
8:02
I was in such shock that I didn't get any information from the guy, except for I remember he was wearing a Comedy Sports T-shirt or- Ah-ha... or dress shirt. I'm like, "Okay." Ah-ha.
8:12
But he asked me if I was okay, and I just kinda said, "You..." I think I said, "You might wanna- Fucking... start looking for bicyclists, especially if you're someone that drives for a living."
8:21
Um, so yeah, finding new bruises every day. Got a big bump on my leg, but I'm gonna give a shout-out to someone that never listens, um, because he probably doesn't know about it. Um, Steven, my chiropractor,
8:34
I feel like a million bucks this morning as compared to the three days [laughs] prior. He- Oh, he is from the Sherwood... he is the Sherwood guy, and he is- He's a Sherwood-er... he's a cracker.
8:43
He's not a gentle chiropractor. He's a brute. Crack your bones. Crack your bones. He is brute- Crack your bones. Crack your bones... and did my neck twice, my, three spots on my back. Dude, I could do that.
8:53
Give me 50 bucks, I'll just punch you in the shoulder. Yeah, I wanna live. [laughs] So I, uh, I've heard your story, and I've listened to it, and here's what I think about car drivers and bikes.
9:05
They are, they're stupid, and, and, and we're good. No, uh, what hap- No, we, we, we ha- So what I think happens- We have to coexist in a very fuck-you world while we're just floating next to each other...
9:15
well- Well, what I- Yes, yes, yes... so what I think happens is that car drivers are used to seeing bikes go at approximately 10, 12 miles an hour. They're- Right...
9:23
they're not really used to seeing a bike that can go 22 or 25 miles an hour off a stoplight in a half a block, because they figured they've already passed it. And now it's- That's exactly-... going much faster...
9:34
that's exactly what I think happened. Yeah, so you should've been behind him on, in the road instead of on the side where the bike stuff is. You should not have pushed the button.
9:40
I didn't know the dude was just gonna- Why did you push the button?... just abruptly pull over after being, you know, two buildings past the intersection. 'Cause he's an idjit, and that's what- Man... Uber drivers do.
9:49
They're- Yeah... they don't pay attention. When their little app says stop, they turn and stop. [lips smack] Dude, I almost got- Yeah...
9:56
I almost got run over by a fucking city bus that wanted to make a right turn onto the, uh, river walk by the PAC Marcus Performing Arts Center, and the guy's looking at me going like, "No, look out."
10:10
And I'm like, "I'm trying to go this way," and he's- Yeah... trying to make a right turn. I'm like, "What right turn are you trying to make?" I had to punch a city bus by, by UWM because- It's so-...
10:21
he turned right in front of me... isn't it satisfying to punch buses? I, I was- It's terrifying... the, the driver slammed on the brake- I am s-... so I must have made enough noise... it is so satisfying.
10:28
[laughs] Dave, Dave's wrestled with buses before, and- It is so sati- well, I've s- you know, sketching of 'em is also satisfying, like ting, ting, ting.
10:36
That's what U-locks are for, is to beat on buses when they're trying to lean on you. U-lock justice. U-lock justice. Yeah. It was, it was yet another accident. Yet another, huh? I- Well, you're up and you're here...
10:49
where's the wood knocking? Yeah. Knocking of the wood. I've- Well, whatever. Hey, man... not encountered a vehicle lately- Eeh, yeah... which I feel good about. Uh, so that's Tony- We were at the show...
10:57
that's Tony's accident. He's- We, we were at the show the other day, and it was awesome. Yeah. Did you hit your helm? Oh, yeah. I went over the bars. Oh, wow, okay. Yeah, I couldn't stop fast enough.
11:09
Um, I started feeling the back end coming around. I didn't go all the way over the bar. You know what? I can't answer it qui- I don't know if I hit my head. Did you hit the car? Oh, yeah. [laughs] Did you- Big time.
11:19
Did you- You should have saw the, the- Did you dent the car? You sh- oh, yeah. [laughs] You should have saw the passenger's face as I'm, like, screaming, "What the fuck?" As he's turning, like, I'm like, "Dude, dude."
11:29
And he just turns right into me. Did you- I couldn't... And I couldn't turn away. There was a car there. I couldn't turn in- I didn't wanna turn into a parked car. Sure.
11:37
So I'm like, "Well"- You didn't, you didn't at least get, like, $60 cash? I was in shock. Just to, just to shut the people... Well, there was no- They were at least reporting, is what you're saying? Yeah.
11:45
No, I didn't get the- Going like, "Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah." I'm sure that guy's counting his blessings. Just, just give me, just give me $50, and then we walk away from all this shit. And it- It's normally...
11:54
Well, that's what- And a beer... every, every time I've been hit by a car, I- I got a beer yesterday. That's a fun story. So- I get, I get 50 bucks out of it. [laughs] So a- Hey, uh...
12:02
I happened to, e- I went to the chiropractor yesterday to get, to get a correction for this injury, and it's fantastic. And on the way home- Lo and behold, it's 4:08 in the afternoon. That's- And I happen-...
12:14
that's 12 minutes closer to closing time... and I happen to notice that, lo and behold, Amorphic Beer is open. So what's the cute girl that's bartender there? The cute young lady? 420. I wanna say Alyssa. Blonde.
12:27
Alyssa maybe. Maybe. And I pulled in and, um, got myself a tasty beverage 'cause it's Amorphic. Oh, yeah, I saw you when I was, uh- And some bewildered kid walks in,
12:39
and he's clearly not old enough to drink, and he's like, he looks at her, and she's like, "What can I do for you?" And he says, "Do you know this place called Schlick Cycles?" Yeah. And I laughed. I'm like, "Well, I do."
12:55
He's like, "Really?" I'm like, "Yeah, it's right over there." I'm like, "Do you have an appointment?" He's like, "No." I'm like, "Well, we're kind of... " I'm like, "We're kind of appointment by only."
13:02
And he's like, "We're?" I'm like, "Well, I work there." I'm like, "What's going on?" He's like, "I blew a tire." I'm like, "Well, let me see if I can get you a tube." A tube. He blew a seal. Yeah.
13:10
Let me see if I can get you a, a tube. [laughs] Tube. So lucky for him, you were just leaving. I went over and- I thought this was like, like- This is a-... like who broke in...
13:19
it's a fixation- Like, oh, my God, this is like a fucking SP, like NCSI fucking episode. Uh, it's a f- I already see what the hell's going on... do not think it was Snitch Kid. No.
13:27
[laughs] Um, it was a fixation f- fixed gear and, uh, of course, that means deep V rim, so we had no tubes for him. We didn't have any tubes for him. No, it needed a 48 Presta.
13:40
Oh, well, usually we, we're getting kinda low on stuff- Yeah... 'cause, hey, guess what? We're moving. I, I, I heard that- We're moving again... from Sean recently. We're moving again. Talk about it, Greg.
13:51
All the way over? Third, third time's a charm hopefully in this moving business, uh, into the building that does contain Amorphic Brewing, which we often mention- Oh... on the show. It is a very blessed building.
14:02
And it's also very well trafficked by people. The owner, well, one of the three owners is an avid rider. He does, like, 5 to 8,000 miles a year.
14:11
Although, I think since he started the brewery, he has somewhat slacked on his riding. But it's a great- We'll be there to, uh... Yeah. It's- Ron's the primary brewer, isn't he? He's the brewer. He is.
14:21
And the other people do other tasks for the business, like run the business and do other things. Talk to us. And so- And talk to us... so with Ron being a bike guy, they're very bike-friendly.
14:31
They have a, a really long bike rack that some idiot parked completely sideways on a couple weeks ago. [laughs] But that's neither here nor there. That was over th- That was me. That was over there.
14:40
Um- No, I didn't do it. Did I? No. You don't want, you don't want this one? What? Which one? Oh, wait. Okay, which one do you want? You can have whichever. Yeah, we just have a little mini- Oh, I didn't see this.
14:50
Yeah, I'll take this. We have a little beer, uh, [sighs] shortage today, so we're scavenging the fridge. Yeah, it's fucking leftover day. And we're at the top of the- I've never had this... top of the hill.
14:56
Top of the hill leftover day. Um, so- Certainly- I, the-... Italian style Pilsner? Never heard of it. It was b- it was in a multi-pack, I'm sure, but- Exciting. I'm very excited.
15:06
So, uh, at, at Shen- I'm off the grid, man. I'm totally off the grid. Off the ground. I'm off the ground. Yeah. Or the grid. Either way.
15:13
Uh, so Amorphic is so bike-friendly that if you bike to their fine establishment, they will give you $2 off your pint o' beer. As a matter of fact, she forgot to do that, and she promised me to remind her the next time.
15:24
You, you do have to kinda bring it up. She w- Yeah... she was also listening to goth music and talking about how the fact that it doesn't- Well-... make her sad, and I'm like, "Me neither. I like goth."
15:32
Was it on World- She was playing some Bauhaus... was it on World Goth Day? Because that was- Was that World Goth Day yesterday? Uh, Monday was. Oh, I didn't know that. Huh.
15:41
Yes, I'm all pal- well, that's why I'm all pale and tragic. Eh. That's why I'm, I'm doing- You do look pale and tragic... the chin beard again. I see that. [laughs] So, uh, I, I'm hoping- So...
15:53
that we're gonna be out within a week. We got... So hopefully you guys don't have anything going this weekend 'cause we're gonna be pushing lots of shit over there. Graduation. Whatever. Who... Graduation schmaduation.
16:01
Who's graduating? Uh, Henry, Molly's nephew from high school. Henry. And Miles, Molly's nephew from UW Milwaukee with his film degrees. Nephew schmephew. Unless it's your own... Both film degrees?
16:13
Uh, he's got a film degree. Uh, m- uh, Henry's gonna go to school for acting. He's very, very into the theater. Oh. Different, different Henry? No. Yes, different Henry. It was funny.
16:25
Aft- a- after speaking of Henry last time, ran into him twice [laughs] along the way, just sitting outside having a drink. His band apparently played at Plum. And it... Well, no, and, and it's like, I'm like, "Henry."
16:36
He's like, he looks and he's like, "Oh, hey." Yeah. And then- Let me look it up because- No, no, no, no, no... his band has the worst name ever. You might as well call him Lover Boy. And, and the- [laughs]...
16:45
and the next day, next day I'm, I'm riding back, and I'm playing fucking, uh, Cutty Ranks, and I got, like, you know, big old dancehall reggae going on, Shabba Dabba, like, right on, uh, Oakland,
17:00
Oakland and Kenwood, the new, uh, thrift store that's out there. He emerges with his new girlfriend or whatever, and like, "Oh, stop a, stop a, stop a." He's like, "Hey, Mike." [laughs] And I'm like, "That's so weak."
17:15
Such a cool... Is he a junior or something? He's a junior, yeah. He's the same age as Cleon. Yeah. So bike- But he's smarter than all the juniors.
17:23
We, we have to, we have to- Uh, except for Cleon dusted him, and he's even more- I'm just saying... than him... no, I know- Let's brag about our children. So my son- Exactly...
17:30
is now considering going to film school at UWM as well. Nice. Nice. So maybe he should talk to this Miles character about his experience there. Um, we'll talk. Yeah. Or to, uh, Borchard. Yeah. Mark Borchard?
17:43
Yeah, there you go. Yeah. Well, he, his- I, I mean, you go to the mothership on that shit...
17:46
what he, what he wants to do is not ex- it may not exactly be filmmaking, but it's as close as he's come to having a curriculum that's like, "Yes, this kind of grooves with what I wanna do." Sure. So- Oh, yeah, yeah...
17:58
let's see if they can, you know- Yeah... make a, make a filmmaker out of him... I think, yeah, I think Bor- I think Borchard would be a- His-... be a heavy... [laughs] Henry's band's name is Ego Trip. Oh.
18:08
And that's when I responded to Dinardo, "What? Lover Boy was taken?" [laughs] 'Cause that's a terrible name for a band. That's a terrible name for a band. But he's in high school, so it's allowed.
18:17
Unless it goes big, and then I'll remind him daily that it's a terrible name for a band
18:22
I got something here that- [laughs] I wanted to mention- E- Ego Trip, does it have double Gs or double Ts or nothing clever, just Ego Trip? Mm-hmm. This is a holdover- [laughs]... from last week's, uh, show notes.
18:35
Uh- We, we talked about some other pod- oh, it's, we talked about the podcasts from Mayday Mayhem, but there's another podcast out of Iowa, I forget what it's called.
18:44
Um, it's Benji- All right, I gotta move this goddamn thing. Get rid of it. Don't stomp on it, though. I'm not stomping on it. So, um- I'm just getting rid of it. Oh, sorry that you fell on your face there, doll.
18:55
She's drunk. So Benji Nichols has a podcast. He runs a magazine with his wife called Inspired or something like that, that's- Sure... Northeast Iowa and sort of it's in that Driftless region.
19:06
And guess who their guest was? And he's a good guest. Sav. Sav is on his show. Really?
19:11
Yeah, and I can't remember the name of the show, but I have the link in the show notes, and if you wanna know what Sav's been up to since he left the cycling industry, this is a really good podcast to listen to. Huh.
19:20
Because the same kind of irreverent Sav that we all knew and loved is now doing, uh, a, a... He owns a business called The Cardboard Robot in Decorah, which is a, like a make stuff kind of a store.
19:32
It's just like, yeah, I... We've talked about this- Yeah... in past podcasts. Right. Cool. And so this, he talks about it in that podcast, so. [laughs] Oh, that's awesome. Show note link? It's, uh, yeah, it's in there.
19:41
It's benj nichols.podbean.com/cardboard. Interesting. That sounds like a good podcast. But he does this thing where he interviews people from basically Decorah because they're all Decorah proud, which I- Decorah...
19:53
I agree with 'cause Decorah's an awesome spot. And Sav does live there, and had...
19:57
He talks about his time with Surly and how he was one of the first, you know, remote worker guys, 'cause he left Surly corporate, like, 10 years ago and managed to work many years from his house in Decorah.
20:06
He's like, "Oh, yeah, by the way, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. Yes, this. Ding, ding, ding. Here are dimensions and awesomeness." He was sales manager, so he, he talked. Yes. He talked. He did talking- I know it.
20:19
I know it... with his mouth and tongue- Yes... and lips. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. And- Listen to the show. It's awesome It is. I'm looking forward to that. Got another awesome thing, which I really didn't consider.
20:29
We mentioned it a few shows back that the Wisconsin Bike Fed's ride guide is out. Yeah. So you know what I assume? It's a guide about what? Riding. Rides, obviously. Like, is it just gonna be a calendar of rides?
20:41
But there's a lot of really cool articles in there. I was very surprised. Oh. I've been using it as, as, like, reading while I'm, you know, pooping material. Pooping.
20:48
[laughs] But they're very good stories, and often I will read a two-page story even though I don't need to sit on the toilet that long. See, I- That happens. That happens... I was having a terribly emotional poop- Yeah.
20:58
[laughs]... at the time. [laughs] That happens. Lots of good stuff. It w- it was a seven-pager, I tell you. Yeah.
21:03
We c- [laughs] Oh, very, very diverse, uh, uh, group of articles, and I would recommend picking it up just to read the articles. And then guess what you'll get as a bonus? Oh. Ride guide. [laughs] There you go. Yeah.
21:16
And our, our good buddy, Mr. Dave Schlabowske, is the editor of that and has a couple stories in there, so, uh... Actually, I talked to Dave today. Oh. He is getting ready to do his well-rehearsed video- [laughs]...
21:30
podcast, for lack of a better... A vlog. A, a vlogging. A v- A vlog... a vlogging. But, uh, it will be, it will be bike packing oriented, and he's put a lot of time into making it something- No shit, yeah...
21:41
that's gonna hopefully be good right out of the box and- Well, yeah, speak- speaking of- Not boring and not crappy is what I said... speaking of both Bike Fed, Dave, bikes- Jake Newborn...
21:51
et cetera, Jake Newborn, we should try to get Pete D'Antoni, Peter D'Antoni on the show. Well, we just had him. 'Cause we just saw him- I, I thought... That's what I thought.
21:59
I, I thought he was- And he has the coolest... He has his batteries for his Bullet in a briefcase- Yeah... that just has a cord coming out to charge it. Nice. Nice.
22:10
And then he just puts it in a giant, uh, what's the brand of Home Depot plastic crates? Husky? That's their brand for everything. Maybe. Sure. I think so.
22:18
So then he just seals it down, and that's how it's all completely watertight. It's a pretty slick setup. Gotta check it out. It's, uh, it's definitely a slick bike. It, it boogies. Well- He said 30... It does about 35.
22:31
He c- Yeah, he just, he rips... he unfriended me. He rips. He unfriended me at one point and never refriended me. Eh. He can be a little bit of a schn- schnuntz. I'm just saying- Schnuntz, whatever that word is...
22:43
I'm just saying I saw him- We're not, we're not Facebook friends... well, I saw him out in the world, and it was good to see him in the world and say, "Hey." Yes. And I thought he was following us here, and he didn't.
22:53
Odly enough, I'm friends with his wife on Facebook, but not him. Mm-hmm. Hmm. But she some- he somehow found out I was hit by a car, 'cause he sent me a message asking about it. Oh, Lord. Like, "You okay?" Like, "Yeah."
23:05
You know, you know the drill. So Hot Chip was the hottest chip- Chip... in the chip land. I have really great...
23:12
So the whole deal with Hot Chip and why I can't wait to see them again is- So I'm gonna- Wait, I'm not done... I'm, I, I, I just- I'm not done... I'm sorry, I just ke- I'm not done...
23:19
I kept drinking fucking wine because it was the same price as beer. Uh, the reason I'm ex- so excited about seeing Hot Chip is the first show I saw- I thought you saw them already...
23:29
it's the first show, sh- first show I saw... Oh, yeah, the reason I loved seeing Hot Chip... Sorry. [laughs] Exactly. Come on. Work with us... is, uh, it's the first show we saw after Cleone was born.
23:41
She saw, we- So it's the first time we left Cleone with someone to go see a show. Gotcha, gotcha, gotcha, gotcha. And she was not killed. Yep, she survived.
23:48
Everything- [laughs] I remember getting to Company, or whatever it was called back then, and having, like- Ono Po?... 10 people ask me if I could buy, if they could buy my ticket, and I was kinda...
23:57
I didn't even know who the band was. So I'm like, "Wait, why are all these people trying to buy my ticket?" And Molly's like, "They're playing in LA, San Francisco- Ah... Milwaukee, New York, and Boston."
24:10
How the hell does Milwaukee get thrown into that mix? And at a little, a little venue- At a little tiny venue... like Ono Po was. And it kicked. I, at one point, I thought Ono Po was [laughs] gonna collapse.
24:23
[laughs] There were so many people jumping So this time you saw him at the Pabst. This time we saw him at Turner Hall. Turner Hall, okay. Turner. I've seen him at The Rave. I was disappointed.
24:33
They opened for LCD Soundsystem. Oh, are you expecting to be disappointed [laughs] at this one? Right? I know. No, I'm expecting- Were you- No, I think this one's- Were you disappointed?
24:40
This one was awesome, 'cause Turner Hall's a great place to see a band. Exactly, except, uh, it takes... You have to go down two flights of stairs to have a cigarette. You should stop. Not a problem.
24:51
You should stop smoking anyway. Well, I could- Think of all the money you'll save. Yeah, or I could just smoke in the fucking bathroom. Or you could just stop smoking. Yeah.
24:59
Dude, p- p- p- p- p- Eh, eh- It's muscle memory, man. Come on. Here's something, if you- Get a straw... here's something, uh- Get a straw [laughs]... if you're on a ride with- Get a... Yeah, get a straw. Get a dum-dum.
25:06
[laughs] If you're on a ride with Tony, and, and you want a photo of something you wanna review- [laughs] Tell, ask Tony to take it...
25:13
tell, tell Tony to make sure that the thing is, like, completely in the photo, like this backpack that- Oh, I-... I was talking about earlier.
25:18
[laughs] Oh, no, I think- I'm like, "Why is only half the backpack in the photo?" [laughs] I think, I think I have a couple fucking pictures of that dance, and your dance, and tonight's dance, and- And Dr. Sushi's dance.
25:28
Doctor... Yeah, yeah. Ooh. You were so close to Dr. Sushi. You could've taken him out. A missed opportunity, if you ask me. But you saw a dog. I, I need a three-hour break at WMC.
25:38
No, you saw a dog, and you could not just... Oh, dog. Well, it is true. [laughs] It is true. It's a great picture. Is it today, with me [clicks tongue]? Yeah. You're just sitting there going, "Whoa, doggy."
25:52
[laughs] And then [laughs], and Sushi's like, "Na-da-da-da-da." [laughs] Ah, Dr. Sushi. I'm sorry. No. I can't love everything about WMC. No, no. You can.
26:01
No, you've got, you've got a couple of them, like Sonia and, and, and Sushi. I can't do either one of those. I'm not a blues person. [laughs] "Hi, this is Sonia. I'm so excited." And, and just Dr.
26:11
Sushi is, as Denardo says, it's, you know, it's what's going on in my mind right now. Yeah. Not mine. No. No, that was a brilliant way... It was a brilliant take that he had on that.
26:20
[sighs] What are you doing over there, Mr. Non-microphone user? I'm looking for my goddamn fucking eyes. Those things right there? No, these are sunglasses. Oh. You need real glasses. Right arm. All right.
26:32
Well bye, Crackie. I'm just getting a little spastic. Don't mind me. We started late. We could end early. That doesn't matter. Whatever, you people. Well, we'll, we'll be here next week. It's 6:20.
26:42
We, we may have something better. Oh. What's the story with us moving? [sighs] We're moving. But where? I mean, where in that location? Right next to the event space part. Yeah.
26:51
We could, we can go over there and have a beer and look at it right now. Yeah. It's, there's time, and it's- Sounds good... super simple... absolutely... Yeah. Yeah, we should go- It's very sh-... check her out.
27:02
All right, everybody, we'll... I'll take some pictures of it so you can see it- It's-... in the before-... chef's kiss... the before phase, and I'm just so happy to be moving again. I can barely contain myself.
27:12
But this should- [laughs] Jesus... this should be a place that does not leak water on anything, and also doesn't flood, and also is owned by somebody that is not going to be a crappy landlord, hopefully. Crappy.
27:27
[laughs] Well, we'll see. Otherwise, uh, the other option was to shut the shop down, so we're gonna have to do this to keep making bike stuff for people. It will. Yes. All right, everybody, thank you for listening.
27:39
I'm sorry we put you through that, but we'll just do it again next week anyway, so come back then and be abused another time. Welcome to a therapy session. Good night. And I'm playing with my nipples.
27:50
