- 0:03Speaker 1: Wake up
- 0:05Speaker 1: Good next
- 0:07Speaker 1: Kicking off your day in the best way, it's Sonnya
- 0:10Speaker 1: and Joakim on the
- 0:11Speaker 1: shock circuit.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Good morning. Who's awake right now?
- 0:15Speaker 2: I'm really not.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Come on, sparkle,
- 0:17Speaker 1: sparkle sparkle,
- 0:20Speaker 1: sparkle.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Hey man, like welcome to your long weekend. It's not over,
- 0:25Speaker 2: but we'll be with you every step of the way.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Singapore's number one hit music station.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Was there any news about her honeymoon? Like, did she
- 0:33Speaker 2: jet off somewhere or?
- 0:35Speaker 2: Not reported. With all that news about the wedding, yeah,
- 0:38Speaker 2: I'm very sure she'd have done what she can to
- 0:40Speaker 2: keep her honeymoon private. Yeah, well, technically if you think
- 0:43Speaker 2: about it, all the, the photos and videos that might
- 0:47Speaker 2: have happened in her during her wedding, they were kept
- 0:50Speaker 2: quite private. There was nothing much, right, that was leaked.
- 0:53Speaker 2: There were no paparazzi. They were not invited inside Madison
- 0:56Speaker 2: Square Garden. Yeah, yeah, only outside. And don't forget she
- 0:59Speaker 2: closed off the entire stretch to keep it private for
- 1:02Speaker 2: her guests and even there were police and
- 1:06Speaker 2: I think some security detail presence as well. Of course, 100%.
- 1:09Speaker 2: I mean, from what we know, the guests actually received
- 1:13Speaker 2: like crazy gifts, like wedding gifts. I mean if they
- 1:16Speaker 2: saire like Taylor Swift, Yo man, like one, no problem.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Who's stopping you, right? Who's stopping you? Anyway, you must
- 1:23Speaker 2: be sleepy this morning. Oh yeah, I'm very surprised I'm
- 1:26Speaker 2: even here. I'm also surprised, but what a show it
- 1:28Speaker 2: was last night over at the National Stadium for NDP 2026.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Thank you all for coming.
- 1:34Speaker 2: The postal reception had laksa Sonia, of course I wish
- 1:38Speaker 2: you were there with me. I know. Hopefully next year
- 1:40Speaker 2: we can enjoy a nice bowl together. I will whack
- 1:42Speaker 2: the laksa with extra sambal, you and I both, always,
- 1:46Speaker 2: but uh I was watching from home, had a small
- 1:48Speaker 2: little thing with like my friends, and they came over
- 1:50Speaker 2: and stuff, and um, we actually decided we wanted to
- 1:53Speaker 2: go upstairs to see whether we can have a peek
- 1:56Speaker 2: of any of the fireworks at all, but not much luck.
- 2:01Speaker 2: But it's OK. We had tons of food and drinks
- 2:03Speaker 2: and like.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Watch the parade. Did you all play drinking games? Of course.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Like when the president stops, I'll take a shot. No, no, never, never, never, never.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Can you not me like that? When someone says Majulah Singapura,
- 2:14Speaker 2: take a shot. No wonder I don't remember much from
- 2:17Speaker 2: last night. Thank you for joining us here today. Um,
- 2:19Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure that this song, people have danced to
- 2:22Speaker 2: it so much during the World Cup. Shakira's raked in
- 2:25Speaker 2: some extra cash as well from there. It's OK, Shakira.
- 2:27Speaker 2: We'll see you in 4 years for the next World Cup. Yeah.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Her voice is just like so suitable for.
- 2:32Speaker 2: The World Cup, the savior of World Cup songs, but I,
- 2:35Speaker 2: I still don't know how to feel about Die Die. Yeah,
- 2:38Speaker 2: I mean, maybe because we, we prefer her previous songs
- 2:41Speaker 2: so much more. And it started trending again actually, funny enough.
- 2:45Speaker 2: There you go. Anyway, coming up in a few minutes, um,
- 2:47Speaker 2: remember just last week I was asking you, we have
- 2:50Speaker 2: like the Hong Pao draw when it comes to CNY
- 2:53Speaker 2: and Toto, right? And then do we have like a
- 2:56Speaker 2: national Day related one which I don't think so. Let
- 2:59Speaker 2: me check in a while, yeah.
- 3:01Speaker 2: But I want to take you across the causeway right
- 3:04Speaker 2: now where we might just have the luckiest housewife ever, OK?
- 3:10Speaker 2: Just as I was wondering about the National Day draw
- 3:12Speaker 2: and all that, right, they have their own version of
- 3:14Speaker 2: jackpot and total jackpot and all that. On that note,
- 3:17Speaker 2: we had $5 million. We do. See, I knew it.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Every special occasion we'll have a total draw. Anyway, I
- 3:25Speaker 2: want to tell you about the luckiest housewife ever in
- 3:27Speaker 2: Malaysia coming up.
- 3:31Speaker 2: David Guetta, if you really love me, how will I know?
- 3:35Speaker 2: Right here on 987, Singapore's number one hit music station.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Just tell you I love you. I know. Anyway, uh,
- 3:42Speaker 2: like I said, I think I want to shake the
- 3:44Speaker 2: hand of the luckiest person ever, which is neither one
- 3:47Speaker 2: of us, to be honest. Um, this lady in Malaysia.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Sanitize my hands for nothing. This lady in Malaysia, she
- 3:55Speaker 2: um went through a tough time during the COVID-19 period. OK,
- 3:58Speaker 2: I think she lost her job. I think her husband's
- 4:01Speaker 2: job was also at risk, not doing well. Um, they decided,
- 4:05Speaker 2: you know, to just buy a lucky pick ticket in
- 4:08Speaker 2: their form of total, like a jackpot situation, OK. Boom,
- 4:11Speaker 2: she wins almost 5000.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Those are 3 years ago, 323 years ago. Three years later,
- 4:20Speaker 2: guess what? She touched again. She won jackpot again. This
- 4:24Speaker 2: time it's over $4 million Singapore dollars. Like what is
- 4:27Speaker 2: going on? I'm stunned. Do you know of anyone who's
- 4:31Speaker 2: won 40 or total like twice?
- 4:34Speaker 2: I know of 40, yes, but total, I don't think
- 4:37Speaker 2: they will say. Yeah, like, but I'm sure it would
- 4:40Speaker 2: have made the news like the same person twice, right?
- 4:44Speaker 2: If they announce it to the public on Instagram, on TikTok. No,
- 4:48Speaker 2: but then how, how do they even get this information
- 4:49Speaker 2: in the first place? I mean, if it's a very
- 4:51Speaker 2: big draw, they will usually make some news about it, right?
- 4:53Speaker 2: So Singapore pools, they have a way to track and
- 4:55Speaker 2: then you claim your winnings. You have to show your SingPass.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Your, your IC and all that, I guess. But you
- 5:01Speaker 2: know how in Singapore when there's a winning ticket, they
- 5:04Speaker 2: reveal the winning outlet. Did they reveal where she bought
- 5:07Speaker 2: the ticket from? Yeah, so the first one was actually
- 5:10Speaker 2: at um this random place that she and her husband
- 5:13Speaker 2: used to frequent. I'm not familiar because I don't really
- 5:15Speaker 2: go to Malaysia, but let me get the location for you.
- 5:19Speaker 2: She had some memory problems, so they went to Perak.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Uh, Lumut in Perak. They stopped in this place called
- 5:27Speaker 2: Sitia One for a meal, and they bought a computer
- 5:30Speaker 2: lucky pic ticket there. Yeah. Was that like their usual
- 5:32Speaker 2: dating spot or what? Last time, like I think when
- 5:35Speaker 2: they were much younger, so she had some memory issues,
- 5:37Speaker 2: you know, he wanted to just bring her and reminisce,
- 5:41Speaker 2: see if it helps. In that case, the next big Singapore, Sonia,
- 5:44Speaker 2: we're going Vivo City again.
- 5:48Speaker 2: I don't know, man. Hopefully it works. from now till
- 5:51Speaker 2: 16th of August 2026 if you shop over at NTUC FairPrice. Oh,
- 5:56Speaker 2: there's one near my house and you spend $61 on
- 5:59Speaker 2: a receipt, you get a $6 voucher. Yay. Wait, wait,
- 6:03Speaker 2: I got a question. Is it, does it have to
- 6:05Speaker 2: be $61 on the dot? No, right? Or is it
- 6:08Speaker 2: minimally $61.
- 6:10Speaker 2: It's that because it says if you spend $61 in
- 6:14Speaker 2: a single receipt, you receive a $6 return voucher. So
- 6:18Speaker 2: you could be calculating what to buy and you hit
- 6:20Speaker 2: $61 just nice, you get the voucher. You know, it's,
- 6:23Speaker 2: it's very cute because I can only imagine some people
- 6:26Speaker 2: like shopping, actually it's very tough to calculate because youT
- 6:31Speaker 2: as well.
- 6:33Speaker 2: True. Speaking of rounded off numbers, right, I think that
- 6:39Speaker 2: the Saipan auntie near my house got tactic, you know.
- 6:42Speaker 2: So you know with your CDC vouchers, they don't technically
- 6:45Speaker 2: give you back change, right? So if you, if for example,
- 6:48Speaker 2: if you get like uh something that's $4 but she
- 6:52Speaker 2: says $450 or like $480 and
- 6:56Speaker 2: You want to use the additional like 1 or $2
- 6:59Speaker 2: you won't get back the 20 cents or 50 cents, right?
- 7:02Speaker 2: So you have to like use your own money or
- 7:04Speaker 2: I don't know, pay now or something which is extra hassle.
- 7:06Speaker 2: I noticed that sometimes she will give me like a
- 7:08Speaker 2: very odd number to the point where like you will
- 7:10Speaker 2: want to just give up, like you just don't, don't
- 7:12Speaker 2: bother paying with your like, your, your QR code anymore.
- 7:17Speaker 2: So you just give her extra 20 cents, you know
- 7:18Speaker 2: what I mean?
- 7:20Speaker 2: Because she knows that some people just round up and
- 7:22Speaker 2: they're like, ah, never mind lah, it's OK. Take it
- 7:24Speaker 2: as if you're giving your favorite hawker stall a small donation.
- 7:28Speaker 2: How about that? Yeah, I know, and I love that
- 7:29Speaker 2: Saipan shop. They've got some of my favorite dishes there
- 7:32Speaker 2: that other places don't have. Hey, this thing about you
- 7:34Speaker 2: surprises me, you know. I never knew you were such
- 7:36Speaker 2: a voucher person. No, I'm not know how to use it. Uh,
- 7:40Speaker 2: not really, actually, I'm quite bad at it. My, my
- 7:42Speaker 2: mom always says that like I waste a lot of
- 7:44Speaker 2: those vouchers because I never check the expiry date.
- 7:47Speaker 2: CDC because I guess um my parents have their own
- 7:50Speaker 2: vouchers and I have my own, so I take my
- 7:53Speaker 2: time to use it. I'm only me, so yeah, I
- 7:55Speaker 2: share it with my mom sometimes because they got 3
- 7:58Speaker 2: people there. I'm very happy to report that my McDonald's
- 8:00Speaker 2: points because I've not had it in so long, it's accumulated.
- 8:04Speaker 2: So the next breakfast we have it on you. OK.
- 8:06Speaker 2: How many breakfasts? Like 34. Hello, 1 or 2 lah,
- 8:10Speaker 2: 3 or 4 stingy Santa Claus, actually, yes, OK.
- 8:15Speaker 2: As someone who represents the community of people who can't swim, OK,
- 8:20Speaker 2: if you can't swim, don't gay. Don't go into your
- 8:24Speaker 2: condo pool or beach or whatsoever. You sound exactly like
- 8:27Speaker 2: my aunties. No, really, because, um, apparently over at Palawan Beach,
- 8:31Speaker 2: a 25 year old man who couldn't swim, and he
- 8:34Speaker 2: knows he can't swim, he went swimming at Palawan Beach
- 8:37Speaker 2: and nearly drowned. Oh my God, why would he do that?
- 8:40Speaker 2: Thankfully he's OK.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Doctors found loads of water in his lungs and all that,
- 8:44Speaker 2: but thankfully he's OK. But I'm just thinking, why would
- 8:47Speaker 2: you do that if you have that formal mentality? It's OK.
- 8:50Speaker 2: I'd rather you save your life than go and join
- 8:53Speaker 2: your friends for a moment's folly and you're in trouble.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Was he trying to impress someone? No, no, no, no,
- 8:59Speaker 2: it wasn't wanted to swimming. Oh, I see. Well, I think, um.
- 9:03Speaker 2: If you want to try swimming, you have to do
- 9:04Speaker 2: it in a controlled environment with like someone who can
- 9:06Speaker 2: help you because the thing about like going to the beach, right,
- 9:10Speaker 2: is that even though, yeah, our waters are quite gentle here,
- 9:12Speaker 2: but sometimes the current can be quite strong and you
- 9:15Speaker 2: don't know how to deal with that, especially if you
- 9:17Speaker 2: don't have the basics. So if you're wearing a life jacket,
- 9:20Speaker 2: it doesn't mean your life is safe. Stay safe, my friends.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Are you currently on vacation? Are you currently just sleeping in?
- 9:30Speaker 2: What's happening? Hey, but you know what, if you're in town, yeah,
- 9:33Speaker 2: especially for 22nd of August 2026, how about joining Sonia
- 9:37Speaker 2: and myself and thousands of other Singaporeans for the RWS
- 9:42Speaker 2: Steps of Hope walkathon? Yeah, you know, I gave myself
- 9:45Speaker 2: hope by telling myself I'll show up for it because
- 9:49Speaker 2: I like walking, but
- 9:50Speaker 2: I don't know if I can keep up with you.
- 9:52Speaker 2: I'm so small. I'm gonna walk your pace. It's not
- 9:54Speaker 2: a race. It's not a run. It's a walk. Oh,
- 9:57Speaker 2: so you're just strolling. Yeah. So if you're walking past
- 9:59Speaker 2: Universal Studios Singapore, you might see your favorite characters. I
- 10:02Speaker 2: want to walk alongside a minion. Then you walk.
- 10:07Speaker 2: No difference. So with National Day done and dusted, the
- 10:11Speaker 2: National Stadium coming August twenty-ninth, I think once they clear
- 10:16Speaker 2: the entire National Day sets and all that.
- 10:19Speaker 2: It will be open for a national stadium experience from
- 10:22Speaker 2: 29th to 20th of September. So it's just what they
- 10:26Speaker 2: did in the month of June, where some select nights
- 10:28Speaker 2: you can go in there and run the track. You
- 10:31Speaker 2: can train there and all that. Do they have other
- 10:32Speaker 2: things going on like, No, I guess it's very much
- 10:36Speaker 2: the track and all that. So just make sure you
- 10:39Speaker 2: observe good track etiquette. If you're going fast, you are,
- 10:42Speaker 2: lane 12, and 3. If you're going slow with your
- 10:45Speaker 2: run clubs and maybe say 6 minutes, 7 minutes, 8.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Minute pace, use 5678. So is it open to spectators
- 10:53Speaker 2: to just sit there in the stands? If you want to,
- 10:55Speaker 2: maybe you can just sit somewhere away from the track
- 10:57Speaker 2: and have a look at people running. Yeah, I don't mind.
- 10:59Speaker 2: I mean, open a bottle of wine, sit at the track,
- 11:02Speaker 2: sit at the stands and watch people run. I don't
- 11:04Speaker 2: know about bringing alcohol into the stadium. You're not allowed
- 11:07Speaker 2: to because they do have the stands, but I don't
- 11:09Speaker 2: think they're not open, of course, in terms of concerts
- 11:13Speaker 2: here in Singapore, I think at the National Stadium, what
- 11:17Speaker 2: was it, Big Bang.
- 11:19Speaker 2: And then very soon we got the weekend, we got
- 11:21Speaker 2: BTS and then performing at the indoor stadium, we have
- 11:25Speaker 2: Baby Monster.
- 11:26Speaker 2: And 28th of November, the same day as Baby Monster
- 11:30Speaker 2: at Apex at Expo, it's the Seraphim. So the thing
- 11:33Speaker 2: is you've got so much to choose from, and I
- 11:35Speaker 2: think by now you would have gotten your tickets for
- 11:37Speaker 2: the ones that you want to go for already, right? Yeah.
- 11:39Speaker 2: So that's all coming up, I guess, second half of
- 11:42Speaker 2: the year. Now the NDP is over. OK, so there
- 11:45Speaker 2: are apparently sleep surveys done for students. Can I give
- 11:48Speaker 2: you some results? Yes, please. They found that primary 5
- 11:51Speaker 2: and secondary 3 students got 15 more minutes of.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Sleep in 2025 than they did in 2023. OK, what
- 11:58Speaker 2: was it attributed to schools shift their slightly later starting hours?
- 12:04Speaker 2: That's good. That's good. Honestly, 15 minutes really means a lot,
- 12:07Speaker 2: you know. Really? You don't think so? I was gonna
- 12:09Speaker 2: say 15 minutes is nothing. If you tell me one hour,
- 12:12Speaker 2: I'll be like, wow, I think 15 minutes is already
- 12:15Speaker 2: like a bonus, even 5 minutes to me, especially at
- 12:18Speaker 2: that time of the morning. Wait, maybe 1 hour is
- 12:20Speaker 2: too much. We start with half an hour first Half
- 12:21Speaker 2: an hour.
- 12:22Speaker 2: 30 minutes is a lot. Yeah, it is a lot.
- 12:24Speaker 2: It is a lot. But OK, so has it improved
- 12:26Speaker 2: their mood and I don't know, is there another study
- 12:29Speaker 2: about that? I don't know about 15 minutes lah, but OK,
- 12:33Speaker 2: I'll take what I can get at this point in time.
- 12:35Speaker 2: So congrats to our primary 5 and 3 students. The
- 12:38Speaker 2: rest I'm not too sure what's happening there. The rest
- 12:39Speaker 2: we remain sleep deprived. We'll do our best. I'm sure
- 12:43Speaker 2: it's a bit of a sleepy morning for everyone. Either
- 12:46Speaker 2: you're recovering from your celebrations yesterday, and I'm sure that
- 12:49Speaker 2: a lot of clubs.
- 12:50Speaker 2: and nightlife areas were open till late last night. I
- 12:53Speaker 2: can envision DJ Nash spinning home by Kit Chan, the
- 12:55Speaker 2: original version. No, no, no, the original version to close
- 13:01Speaker 2: the club to tell everyone to go home. I thought
- 13:04Speaker 2: the remix version. It's not this is home. Please go home.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Now I can't be a songwriter. Please don't. Anyway, speaking
- 13:13Speaker 2: of songs, we got some of our favorites coming up
- 13:16Speaker 2: in just a bit in case you missed.
- 13:18Speaker 2: The live performance of Gareth Fernandez and Drew Chen. They
- 13:21Speaker 2: did sparkle live in the studio and we contributed, although
- 13:24Speaker 2: no one asked, but we offered our services for free
- 13:27Speaker 2: as backup singers. We had to pay them to sing us.
- 13:30Speaker 2: There you go. What better way to wind down from
- 13:33Speaker 2: the National Day weekend celebrations than to hear yet another
- 13:37Speaker 2: uplifting track that was performed live just a couple of
- 13:39Speaker 2: days ago on our show. I wouldn't be so quick
- 13:41Speaker 2: as to say wind down. You never know. The organizers
- 13:43Speaker 2: hear our version. Let's stage it again.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Tomorrow, let's do it. Which community center gonna hire us?
- 13:49Speaker 2: Not even community center, the actual show MVP.
- 13:52Speaker 1: OK,
- 13:52Speaker 2: let's go back there.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Hey,
- 13:53Speaker 2: I think we better start small first, you know, we
- 13:55Speaker 2: start at my, my, my condo gathering or something. Anyway,
- 14:02Speaker 2: we
- 14:02Speaker 1: would love
- 14:02Speaker 2: to relive those moments. Gareth and Drew live with Sparkle
- 14:06Speaker 2: on 987.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Sparkle, come on.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Come on
- 14:18Speaker 1: You've been searching.
- 14:21Speaker 1: your special sign, but look within yourself. You see there's
- 14:24Speaker 1: treasure deep inside.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Waste your time chasing someone's fantasy, but you could be
- 14:31Speaker 1: the one you're meant to be, so get up off
- 14:34Speaker 1: your feet.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Bring it down.
- 14:40Speaker 1: You got so the skills to turn that brown around.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Feel so
- 14:50Speaker 1: Diamonds, kids, so remember you're in.
- 15:29Speaker 1: That you're magic. Don't forget that you are. Season's coming,
- 15:34Speaker 1: reasons going. You could be a star.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Clap your hands and stomp your feet. It's your life
- 15:41Speaker 1: now make believe, so lift me up in yourself too.
- 15:53Speaker 1: that.
- 15:55Speaker 1: from
- 16:02Speaker 1: Kid, so remember you're in.
- 16:42Speaker 1: I
- 17:03Speaker 2: Alrighty, so over at the Masling area there could be
- 17:07Speaker 2: a potential case of cat abuse, potential because it happened
- 17:10Speaker 2: over at the Masling Industrial Estate area. So there's a
- 17:14Speaker 2: community cat by the name of Pai Pai, white and
- 17:18Speaker 2: all that, right, but unfort
- 17:19Speaker 2: Fortunately, the cat feeders that tend to it regularly found
- 17:23Speaker 2: that it was coated with black oil, including in its
- 17:26Speaker 2: ears and eyes, so they suspect it could be cat abuse,
- 17:31Speaker 2: but I'm just seeing the flip side here just in
- 17:34Speaker 2: case before we jump the gun.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Because industrial area, right, maybe there could have been oil
- 17:39Speaker 2: spillage somewhere and Paipay accidentally got into it. So I
- 17:44Speaker 2: don't know, but according to the cat feeders, Paipai was
- 17:47Speaker 2: a bit scared after the whole oil incident. So I
- 17:50Speaker 2: think you can tell if it's scared if the animal
- 17:52Speaker 2: starts becoming scared of humans, something happened there for sure,
- 17:55Speaker 2: like when we just adopted Maxi, right, you could tell
- 17:58Speaker 2: that she, she couldn't trust easily, you know, which is very,
- 18:01Speaker 2: very sad, um.
- 18:03Speaker 2: But speaking of animals and all that, I, I want
- 18:04Speaker 2: to give a big shout out to our friends at SPCA.
- 18:06Speaker 2: They're doing a dog adoption drive very soon. Uh, please
- 18:10Speaker 2: go check it out. They just posted a few days ago,
- 18:11Speaker 2: and a lot of the other dog communities and um
- 18:15Speaker 2: companies or non-profit organizations, they are re-sharing it because I
- 18:19Speaker 2: think there's a new batch of these, you know, dogs
- 18:22Speaker 2: to be up for adoption. Please do what you can
- 18:24Speaker 2: to adopt, don't shop. There we go. OK lah, this one,
- 18:28Speaker 2: capital letters controversial for sure.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Singapore has a sci-fi movie made with AI. It's called
- 18:36Speaker 2: Trace Project. It was premiered yesterday at a 2 p.m.
- 18:41Speaker 2: screening at Golden Village Cinema Hall 4 at Vivo City.
- 18:45Speaker 2: So what's kind of interesting was there's a screenshot, right,
- 18:49Speaker 2: of the 1st 4 rows of the cinema being booked out. Oh,
- 18:53Speaker 2: maybe the production studio or what, and the remaining 5
- 18:56Speaker 2: rows looked empty.
- 18:58Speaker 2: And uh interestingly enough, it's generated by AI. It's prompted
- 19:02Speaker 2: by AI, but the timing of it when the world
- 19:05Speaker 2: isn't really in the embracing mood of AI as of yet, yeah, la,
- 19:11Speaker 2: could be, could have been better lah. I think it's
- 19:14Speaker 2: maybe they're just testing it out, probably, you know, using
- 19:16Speaker 2: this as a test audience. I think they've done other
- 19:18Speaker 2: feature films before and um many stories about Singapore revolve
- 19:24Speaker 2: around our history.
- 19:25Speaker 2: As well that maybe people are curious about. So in
- 19:28Speaker 2: the late 2030s as Earth's ecosystem continues to collapse, humanity
- 19:34Speaker 2: launches the Mars Footprints program, sending astronauts from every nation
- 19:38Speaker 2: to establish a new civilization on Mars. OK, this type
- 19:42Speaker 2: of movie, right, you definitely need like Christopher Nolan kind
- 19:45Speaker 2: of budget. Like look at Interstellar, for example. So maybe
- 19:51Speaker 2: this AI prompting movie, right?
- 19:55Speaker 2: It can show the powers that be. Hey, you know,
- 19:58Speaker 2: these are AI problems that if you invest in us,
- 20:00Speaker 2: we could give you a Chris Nolan standard movie. Basically
- 20:03Speaker 2: you can spin it around for business. Yeah, but I'm,
- 20:06Speaker 2: I'm not too sure how to feel about this one.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, there are a lot of short films
- 20:11Speaker 2: also like on social media now on TikTok and Instagram, right?
- 20:13Speaker 2: They just feed it to you, and I have to say,
- 20:15Speaker 2: I get quite invested, you know, in those like trashy storylines.
- 20:19Speaker 2: But then I end up watching the whole thing. Then
- 20:20Speaker 2: they say, oh, cliffhanger, you got to subscribe to this,
- 20:22Speaker 2: don't know what channel to watch. I, I'm watching the
- 20:25Speaker 2: trailer right now. You can really tell it's AI generated
- 20:28Speaker 2: to the point where the comments. One of the guys, look, the,
- 20:32Speaker 2: the actors actually has a bit of resemblance to Dick
- 20:34Speaker 2: Lee though.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Do you notice? He just popped up on my screen. Oh, the,
- 20:39Speaker 2: the guy that looks like, doesn't he look a bit
- 20:40Speaker 2: like Dick Lee? A little bit. I swear he should
- 20:43Speaker 2: look into that. Oh, let's see if it's still showing
- 20:44Speaker 2: in cinemas. So it wasn't too long ago that here
- 20:47Speaker 2: in Singapore we had a pretty bad lightning strike incident
- 20:50Speaker 2: over at the Pasir Ris Beach area, to which our
- 20:53Speaker 2: heart still goes out to the family and friends of
- 20:56Speaker 2: the victim, and it just really, I think shocked us
- 20:59Speaker 2: as a whole here in Singapore because we never really
- 21:02Speaker 2: A lightning strike is not something you usually think about,
- 21:04Speaker 2: you know, and then we take you over to Thailand
- 21:07Speaker 2: right now where a lightning strike, unfortunately has taken the
- 21:10Speaker 2: life of a very young Thai footballer, only 24 years old,
- 21:14Speaker 2: during a match in Thailand, and another 12 people were
- 21:18Speaker 2: actually injured.
- 21:18Speaker 2: I think football games in Thailand now before they kick off,
- 21:22Speaker 2: they're actually paying a minute of silence for the fallen footballer.
- 21:26Speaker 2: It's really sad and this is why bringing back to Singapore,
- 21:30Speaker 2: when your stadiums, especially for all the run clubs when
- 21:33Speaker 2: they have the lightning alert on.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Take it seriously. Yeah, don't, it's not just for show,
- 21:39Speaker 2: and in the rain and all that because it's a
- 21:41Speaker 2: safety thing. Yeah, but sometimes, you know, as much precaution
- 21:45Speaker 2: as you take, certain things just happen, you know, I,
- 21:49Speaker 2: I really don't know what the, what their form of
- 21:52Speaker 2: precaution was. Like I'm sure they would have said, OK,
- 21:55Speaker 2: the weather is looking not too good now, but how
- 21:56Speaker 2: do you predict the lightning strike?
- 21:58Speaker 2: I mean, if it's raining, don't go in the field
- 22:01Speaker 2: and if you know that there's gonna be a storm,
- 22:03Speaker 2: you might want to clear your football fields at Bishan
- 22:05Speaker 2: Parks or Pasir Ris Parks or East Coast Park, for example. Yeah. Anyway, um,
- 22:10Speaker 2: regardless of what it is you're up to, you know,
- 22:11Speaker 2: I think plenty of people are spending time outdoors over
- 22:14Speaker 2: the next over the weekend and over the next few days.
- 22:16Speaker 2: So please be safe and abide by any sort of
- 22:19Speaker 2: warnings or rules or anything.
- 22:21Speaker 2: We're just sending you love this morning. I'm gonna give
- 22:23Speaker 2: you some dates, OK, of musicals and plays happening here
- 22:26Speaker 2: in Singapore like local musicals and plays staged by our
- 22:31Speaker 2: local scene and actors. OK. Are you ready? OK, so
- 22:34Speaker 2: the very first one, Legally Blonde. Yay. OK, it runs
- 22:38Speaker 2: till 16th of August. So get your tickets in and
- 22:42Speaker 2: then following that, of course, loads of comments about this one.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Jesus Christ Superstar. It'll be available in Singapore very soon.
- 22:49Speaker 2: If I'm not wrong, it runs 19th of August, all
- 22:53Speaker 2: the way till 6th of September. So, all the best
- 22:56Speaker 2: with that one. Enjoy it. And if you're wondering when
- 22:59Speaker 2: is this year's National Day Rally, very soon, August 23rd, 2026,
- 23:04Speaker 2: Sunday night. Hm, OK. So I just did a quick
- 23:07Speaker 2: search and, uh, for Jesus Christ.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Superstar, they've got an NC-16 rating here in Singapore, so
- 23:13Speaker 2: just take note of that. I think in general, the
- 23:15Speaker 2: rest are fine, whatever age you are. Legally Blonde should
- 23:18Speaker 2: be fine. It's going to be a very entertaining family
- 23:20Speaker 2: show as well. Yeah, and loads of rave reviews when
- 23:23Speaker 2: it comes to Legally Blonde. Congrats to Nattie Ong, Nathan,
- 23:27Speaker 2: Sandra as well. It's amazing. I've been seeing them reposting
- 23:30Speaker 2: all the stories from the shows and hopefully you've gotten
- 23:32Speaker 2: your tickets then.
