- 0:13Speaker 1: Hello you guys, Welcome back to another episode of the
- 0:16Speaker 1: Hawkerel Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kayleie, and this is
- 0:19Speaker 1: your weekly reminder that it's a new day, a new week,
- 0:22Speaker 1: a new mindset, and another day pew to become the
- 0:24Speaker 1: Hawkgirl Energy.
- 0:25Speaker 2: You want to a track?
- 0:27Speaker 1: Hello you guys, Happy Wednesday, Welcome back to another episode.
- 0:31Speaker 1: I am feeling a little under the weather. So if
- 0:33Speaker 1: my voice sounds a little raspy, or if I'm digging
- 0:37Speaker 1: multiple water breaks and you can tell that.
- 0:39Speaker 2: My voice is just changing. If there's any.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Crops through this episode, you know why that it's probably
- 0:46Speaker 1: because I'm not feeling well. So I just wanted to
- 0:48Speaker 1: point that out because I know I don't sound the
- 0:51Speaker 1: same right now.
- 0:52Speaker 2: It might not pick up through the mic, but.
- 0:54Speaker 1: I'm feeling very raspy right now and congested. And you
- 0:58Speaker 1: know what, it is the time of the.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Year where it's very normal to get sick around this
- 1:03Speaker 2: time of the year.
- 1:04Speaker 1: We actually just got snow. Okay, we already got snow.
- 1:07Speaker 1: I'm talking like thirty centimeters of snow. It just came
- 1:11Speaker 1: down and was like, yep, it's winter. We're starting early
- 1:14Speaker 1: this year. I typically would.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Prefer the winter to start in December, not November. But
- 1:20Speaker 2: that's okay. It is what it is.
- 1:22Speaker 1: We're embracing the cold weather because if you listen to
- 1:26Speaker 1: my last episode, we are trying to get rid of
- 1:28Speaker 1: the winter uglies and just you know, do the little
- 1:32Speaker 1: things that bring us joy.
- 1:33Speaker 2: So that's what I've been doing. I've been still going
- 1:35Speaker 2: on walks with.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Freddy, dressing warm and again just trying to embrace the
- 1:40Speaker 1: winter season. I've been in the full Christmas mood. I
- 1:44Speaker 1: have already started putting up my Christmas decorations. I've already
- 1:47Speaker 1: ordered a Starbucks holiday drink. I think as soon as
- 1:50Speaker 1: November hits and I start seeing Christmas content on TikTok,
- 1:53Speaker 1: I immediately am like, yep, okay, sign me up.
- 1:56Speaker 2: I will put my decor up. I will get in
- 1:58Speaker 2: the Christmas mood.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Truly. It just brings me so much joy. And I
- 2:02Speaker 1: talked with this in the last episode, but I feel
- 2:04Speaker 1: like only putting your Christmas to Core up for four
- 2:07Speaker 1: weeks is just not fair. Like you put all this
- 2:09Speaker 1: effort and putting your Christmas to Core up, and I
- 2:12Speaker 1: just feel like it needs to be up longer. So
- 2:13Speaker 1: I've officially put up my Christmas tree, and I've decorated
- 2:16Speaker 1: my living room and my kitchen. I now just have
- 2:19Speaker 1: to do my console table and my little nook that
- 2:22Speaker 1: I have behind my living room, which is just like
- 2:25Speaker 1: my mirror and cabinet set up, and then we need
- 2:28Speaker 1: to put the garland on the stairs and decorate the
- 2:30Speaker 1: outside porch.
- 2:32Speaker 2: So definitely have a few more areas that I want
- 2:34Speaker 2: to decorate.
- 2:35Speaker 1: I feel like I look back at my videos from
- 2:37Speaker 1: last year and I feel like I did a little
- 2:39Speaker 1: too much. So I'm trying to obviously do kind of
- 2:44Speaker 1: like a simple Christmas, but also still putting in the
- 2:46Speaker 1: effort of making it look like I put a lot
- 2:49Speaker 1: of effort, if that makes sense. Like we put floating
- 2:51Speaker 1: shelves up in our living room this weekend, and I
- 2:54Speaker 1: was able to decorate the shelves with a bunch of
- 2:56Speaker 1: Christmas to core, which I think looks incredible. But then
- 2:59Speaker 1: I tried to make it more simple in the kitchen
- 3:01Speaker 1: and the dining room would not feel as cluttered since
- 3:04Speaker 1: I put a lot of effort in my living room,
- 3:06Speaker 1: So just trying to make it flow nicely and not
- 3:09Speaker 1: feel overcluttered. But if you want to see how I
- 3:12Speaker 1: decorated my house for Christmas. You can follow me on
- 3:15Speaker 1: TikTok and Instagram. I have a little series that I'm
- 3:18Speaker 1: starting of just kind of showing each room that I decorate,
- 3:21Speaker 1: along with a YouTube blog that should be up this
- 3:24Speaker 1: week as well, and you could probably watch that and
- 3:27Speaker 1: see how I decorate the space is there as well
- 3:29Speaker 1: for anyone that likes to watch YouTube.
- 3:31Speaker 2: So yeah, I've already ordered my Starbucks holiday drink.
- 3:34Speaker 1: I tried the Gingerbread cold foam coffee and I didn't
- 3:39Speaker 1: love it. Like it was good, but it just I
- 3:41Speaker 1: don't know there was something that was missing. I don't
- 3:44Speaker 1: like an overly sweet coffee, but I do like to
- 3:46Speaker 1: know that there's a bit of sweetness in it, if
- 3:48Speaker 1: that makes sense. Like when it's too sweet, I don't
- 3:50Speaker 1: enjoy it. But when it's like the perfect amount of sweetness,
- 3:53Speaker 1: it's like the perfect coffee in my opinion, So I
- 3:56Speaker 1: definitely want to try something different.
- 3:58Speaker 2: I don't love the sugar cookie in my opinion. It's
- 4:01Speaker 2: a hidden miss for me, Like sometimes it's good and
- 4:03Speaker 2: sometimes it's not.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Again, I find it a little too sweet for me.
- 4:06Speaker 1: But I'm wondering if the sugar cookie cold foam might
- 4:10Speaker 1: be better. I wonder if they do the I think
- 4:12Speaker 1: it's the caramel breula. I wonder if they do that
- 4:14Speaker 1: sweetener in the cold film. They probably do. Also, if
- 4:18Speaker 1: you guys haven't tried the protein cold foams at Starbucks.
- 4:22Speaker 1: I loved it. I thought it tasted incredible. It's a
- 4:25Speaker 1: great way to get your extra protein in. But I
- 4:27Speaker 1: tried it at the airport when Zach and I were
- 4:29Speaker 1: going to Dallas, and I was obsessed with it. I
- 4:32Speaker 1: thought it was really really good. I got the Pumpkin
- 4:33Speaker 1: cream cold foam, the protein one. It kind of makes
- 4:36Speaker 1: me sad talking about pumpkin because I know that there's
- 4:39Speaker 1: no more pumpkin cream cold brow now that we're into
- 4:41Speaker 1: the holiday menu.
- 4:42Speaker 2: But I think my favorite holiday.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Drink off the Starbucks menu would probably be the Caramel
- 4:47Speaker 1: brewlat I think that's probably my favorite, and then maybe
- 4:51Speaker 1: the sugar Cookie cold foam. Well. See, I love their
- 4:54Speaker 1: cold foam, So that's why I think I need to
- 4:56Speaker 1: try the sugar Cookie cold foam, not the sugar Cookie drink,
- 4:59Speaker 1: and see if I prefer that, because I like their
- 5:01Speaker 1: cold brew and I like just adding the cold phone
- 5:03Speaker 1: because I find it's like a subtle sweetness and it's
- 5:05Speaker 1: not like overdone. So we'll keep you posted. If I
- 5:08Speaker 1: like that, I'll probably order that next week and give
- 5:11Speaker 1: you guys an honest review on that. But let me
- 5:14Speaker 1: know what your favorite holiday drink is, because I would
- 5:16Speaker 1: love your feedback on what I should order next, because
- 5:19Speaker 1: they do have.
- 5:20Speaker 2: A lot of drinks on their holiday.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Menu, which I honestly find kind of overwhelming, but at
- 5:24Speaker 1: the same time, I love it because they give so
- 5:26Speaker 1: many options. Actually, I do love their crimary refresher. I
- 5:30Speaker 1: don't always order a refresher, but when I do during
- 5:32Speaker 1: the holidays, their crimary one is so good. But yeah,
- 5:36Speaker 1: I've tried a few of their drinks in the past,
- 5:38Speaker 1: and the best one I can think of that I really.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Really loved was their Caromel brulet.
- 5:42Speaker 1: In today's episode, we're going to be talking about a
- 5:45Speaker 1: topic that I've kind of brought up on my Instagram
- 5:48Speaker 1: and TikTok, which is just kind of talking about life changes.
- 5:52Speaker 2: I really wanted to just share.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Some tips on how to adapt to a major shift
- 5:59Speaker 1: in life, whether it's it's you're going through a breakup,
- 6:02Speaker 1: or if you're moving to a new city, or if
- 6:04Speaker 1: you're moving into a new home with your boyfriend or
- 6:06Speaker 1: your husband, if you're you know, trying to have kids
- 6:10Speaker 1: and starting a family. I feel like this year, specifically
- 6:13Speaker 1: for me, has been a lot mentally. I feel like
- 6:17Speaker 1: I haven't really been open and honest.
- 6:19Speaker 2: About that through TikTok and Instagram.
- 6:21Speaker 1: But I have really felt like twenty nine for me
- 6:25Speaker 1: has been a rollercoaster of emotions. And I don't think
- 6:29Speaker 1: that I thought twenty nine was going to be like this.
- 6:31Speaker 1: I think I've been overthinking a lot when it comes to,
- 6:35Speaker 1: you know, thinking about that I'm turning thirty next year,
- 6:38Speaker 1: which is obviously a huge milestone and huge difference in
- 6:44Speaker 1: my age. Another thing I've obviously been thinking about is
- 6:47Speaker 1: knowing that Zach and I want to try for kids
- 6:50Speaker 1: in the coming months, and obviously that's scary but also
- 6:55Speaker 1: really exciting and obviously like thinking about that it's not
- 6:59Speaker 1: just going to be him and I and Freddy anymore.
- 7:01Speaker 1: It's going to be you know, hopefully a child in
- 7:03Speaker 1: our life, and like having that little family that I've
- 7:06Speaker 1: always dreamed of.
- 7:06Speaker 2: And all that.
- 7:08Speaker 1: It's scary, man, Like, it really is scary, but it
- 7:11Speaker 1: also is super exciting because I know it's a change
- 7:15Speaker 1: that I've always wanted for myself. I've always imagined having
- 7:18Speaker 1: kids in my life. I've always imagined having a family,
- 7:21Speaker 1: and picturing that with Zach is so exciting and literally
- 7:25Speaker 1: gets me emotional because it's just like we were kids
- 7:28Speaker 1: when we met. We got together at seventeen years old.
- 7:31Speaker 1: We've been together for almost thirteen years, and to think
- 7:35Speaker 1: that it's not going to be us anymore just makes
- 7:37Speaker 1: things feel so wild, Like I still feel like we're
- 7:40Speaker 1: still kids, Like we always talk about that in bed
- 7:43Speaker 1: before we're going to bed, We're always like, how are
- 7:45Speaker 1: we at this phase in our life?
- 7:46Speaker 2: Like how are we married? How are we husband and wife?
- 7:48Speaker 2: Right now?
- 7:49Speaker 1: We own a house, we just bought another house together,
- 7:51Speaker 1: Like it just kind of feels so real, like knowing
- 7:53Speaker 1: that this is our life together and like we grew
- 7:56Speaker 1: up together and got ourselves to this point, and it
- 7:58Speaker 1: truly is things we need to look back at and appreciate,
- 8:02Speaker 1: like every moment and era that we've been throughout these.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Past few years.
- 8:06Speaker 1: But knowing that next year is a pretty big year
- 8:08Speaker 1: for us, knowing that, you know, turning thirty, we're trying
- 8:11Speaker 1: for kids, Like it's just a lot going on so
- 8:14Speaker 1: I also kind of want to talk about my prepping
- 8:16Speaker 1: for pregnancy journey and things that I'm doing mentally and
- 8:19Speaker 1: physically to kind of prepare myself for this next chapter,
- 8:22Speaker 1: because I know a lot of you guys are in
- 8:24Speaker 1: the same boat who may have followed me on Instagram
- 8:27Speaker 1: or TikTok and wanted me to talk about this. So
- 8:29Speaker 1: I will also briefly talk about just things I'm doing
- 8:31Speaker 1: mentally and physically to prepare for pregnancy. So let's first
- 8:37Speaker 1: talk about just major life changes in general. You might
- 8:40Speaker 1: be someone who just finished college and is moving to
- 8:43Speaker 1: a new city and is scared to, you know, have
- 8:47Speaker 1: this major shift of leaving your family and friends and
- 8:50Speaker 1: basically starting a new life.
- 8:52Speaker 2: It could also be a breakup that you're going through.
- 8:54Speaker 1: You may have been with the same partner for a
- 8:56Speaker 1: few months or a few years, and you're going through
- 8:58Speaker 1: this major shift of you know, ending the relationship and
- 9:02Speaker 1: going back to the single life, and you're not sure
- 9:04Speaker 1: how you're going to get over this heartbreak and just
- 9:06Speaker 1: the healing journey of getting yourself.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Back on track and kind of moving on to the
- 9:11Speaker 2: next phase in your life.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Maybe you just got your first big girl job and
- 9:15Speaker 1: you just left college, graduated, and now you just have
- 9:18Speaker 1: gotten your brand new job, and you're scared because you know,
- 9:21Speaker 1: entering a new job is always different, and you're meeting
- 9:24Speaker 1: new people and you don't know how the environment's going
- 9:27Speaker 1: to be.
- 9:27Speaker 2: It's kind of scared you going into a new job.
- 9:29Speaker 1: And maybe you're like me where you're married and your
- 9:33Speaker 1: husband and wife and now you're thinking about starting a
- 9:35Speaker 1: family and you're kind of scared of jumping into that
- 9:39Speaker 1: next phase of knowing that it's not just your husband
- 9:42Speaker 1: and yourself anymore. It's you're now raising a child and
- 9:45Speaker 1: going to have to go through delivery and birth and everything.
- 9:48Speaker 1: And obviously, like your life changes completely when you're taking
- 9:51Speaker 1: care of a newborn baby versus just taking care of yourself.
- 9:55Speaker 2: So a lot can be scary and that as well.
- 9:58Speaker 1: So I think the first thing that you need to
- 10:00Speaker 1: think about when we're going through these major life changes
- 10:03Speaker 1: is feeling the feelings. And what I mean by that
- 10:06Speaker 1: is that it's okay to cry it out. It's okay
- 10:09Speaker 1: to feel those feelings. If you're wanting to let it out,
- 10:13Speaker 1: don't bottle it up inside.
- 10:14Speaker 2: You really just want to let it go.
- 10:16Speaker 1: If you're feeling sad, then feel sad, because if you
- 10:19Speaker 1: just ignore that sadness, it's really going to impact your
- 10:22Speaker 1: mental health. So if you want to cry, cry, if
- 10:25Speaker 1: you want to listen to sad music, listen to sad music.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Make a playlist on Spotify.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Maybe it's kind of like your comfort playlist that you
- 10:32Speaker 1: kind of resort to when you are feeling down or
- 10:34Speaker 1: when you are feeling like, you know, you just need
- 10:37Speaker 1: to express and release your feelings out.
- 10:39Speaker 2: I find sometimes going on a drive.
- 10:41Speaker 1: And listening to music, or even going on a walk
- 10:44Speaker 1: and listening to music very therapeutic in my opinion. I
- 10:48Speaker 1: feel like it allows you just to kind of like
- 10:50Speaker 1: allow you to think, allow yourself to be in your
- 10:53Speaker 1: own thoughts, and just kind of again release those feelings.
- 10:56Speaker 1: And by walking or driving, it just kind of allows
- 11:00Speaker 1: yourself to focus while you're expressing.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Those feelings, if that makes sense.
- 11:03Speaker 1: It's also a way to kind of grieve this chapter
- 11:06Speaker 1: of your life, whether it's ending an era of being
- 11:08Speaker 1: in your hometown and you're moving to a new city,
- 11:11Speaker 1: or maybe it's being in your childhood home and moving
- 11:14Speaker 1: into a new home with your boyfriend. Like it's okay
- 11:17Speaker 1: to kind of like grieve those moments and like move
- 11:20Speaker 1: past it by releasing those feelings and going through a
- 11:23Speaker 1: therapeutic drive or walk and listening to that kind of music,
- 11:27Speaker 1: because it's important to just kind of like release those feelings.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Another one that I find is a huge one for
- 11:33Speaker 1: me that I feel like really really works is journaling
- 11:36Speaker 1: your thoughts. I feel like this is so important during
- 11:40Speaker 1: a major life transition, writing out everything that you're feeling
- 11:44Speaker 1: in that exact moment.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Sometimes, you know, we go through this.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Change and we kind of have a lot of feelings
- 11:50Speaker 1: built up and we don't know how to express it.
- 11:52Speaker 1: So being able to express it on a piece of paper,
- 11:55Speaker 1: writing everything down on how you're currently feeling, and also
- 11:58Speaker 1: being able to just kind of look back and like
- 12:01Speaker 1: see how you were feeling in that current moment and
- 12:03Speaker 1: kind of reading it over and just knowing that's how
- 12:06Speaker 1: you felt in that moment going through this major life change,
- 12:10Speaker 1: So kind of doing like a little bit of a
- 12:12Speaker 1: mind dump of everything you're thinking of in that moment
- 12:15Speaker 1: and releasing everything that you're feeling about this life transition.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I am a very anxious and stressed person, and I'm
- 12:22Speaker 1: sure there's a lot of you guys out there like
- 12:24Speaker 1: me that may also feel this way.
- 12:25Speaker 2: So writing about.
- 12:27Speaker 1: What you're anxious about and what you're stress about may
- 12:30Speaker 1: also help release that tension.
- 12:32Speaker 2: That you're feeling.
- 12:33Speaker 1: So if you're trying to add something to your routine
- 12:36Speaker 1: to help you know with your stress or your anxiety
- 12:39Speaker 1: around this or just dealing with a major life change,
- 12:42Speaker 1: try and add journaling into your routine because I do
- 12:45Speaker 1: think this would really really help, and again writing out
- 12:48Speaker 1: your thoughts that you may be thinking in that current moment.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Another good one is leaning on your loved ones. It
- 12:54Speaker 1: is so important to know that family will always be
- 12:57Speaker 1: there for you, whether it's family or good friends.
- 13:01Speaker 2: You know they want you to know.
- 13:03Speaker 1: That they're to support you through any type of era
- 13:06Speaker 1: or journey that you're going through. You are not alone
- 13:09Speaker 1: in this. There are people that want to help.
- 13:11Speaker 2: You and you may not even realize it.
- 13:14Speaker 1: I feel like I definitely don't do this enough in
- 13:18Speaker 1: terms of like leaning on loved ones. I feel like
- 13:21Speaker 1: I try and bottle this up and take it as
- 13:23Speaker 1: my own of like this is my own change, this
- 13:25Speaker 1: is my own transition, Like I don't need to rely
- 13:27Speaker 1: on my parents or my sister for like comforting me
- 13:30Speaker 1: or my husband throughout this transition that I'm going through.
- 13:33Speaker 1: But when you do lean on your friends and family
- 13:36Speaker 1: for support, they show how.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Much they want to help you through this.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Like my mom actually has been a really big, you know,
- 13:44Speaker 1: comfort person for me going through you know, just talking
- 13:47Speaker 1: about pregnancy and all that, because obviously she's been through it,
- 13:50Speaker 1: she had me, she had my sister, and so sometimes
- 13:52Speaker 1: talking it out with her brings a little bit of
- 13:55Speaker 1: comfort for me going through this next phase of my
- 13:58Speaker 1: life knowing that, you know, she got beautiful children, not
- 14:01Speaker 1: of it to healthy babies, and it kind of brings
- 14:04Speaker 1: me some courage and strength knowing that if she's able
- 14:08Speaker 1: to do it, I should be able to do it,
- 14:10Speaker 1: and again just kind of boost my motivation and helps
- 14:13Speaker 1: me think in more of a positive way about this
- 14:16Speaker 1: life change versus negatively. So sometimes just talking it out
- 14:19Speaker 1: with a family member or friend could really really help. Also,
- 14:23Speaker 1: maybe if you've seen a friend that has gone through
- 14:25Speaker 1: something similar, or maybe an influencer that you follow that
- 14:29Speaker 1: has gone through a major life change where they you know,
- 14:32Speaker 1: move to a different city, maybe it's time to reach
- 14:34Speaker 1: out to them and just say, hey, like, you know,
- 14:36Speaker 1: I'm currently going through the process of moving to a
- 14:39Speaker 1: brand new city, and would love your tips on how
- 14:41Speaker 1: you met new friends or how you adjusted into a
- 14:45Speaker 1: new city. Like, it's always okay to reach out and
- 14:48Speaker 1: ask questions about someone that may have been going through
- 14:51Speaker 1: something similar that you're going through right now. If you're
- 14:54Speaker 1: moving to a new city and you're afraid of you know,
- 14:56Speaker 1: missing your family or missing your friends, there's face time.
- 15:00Speaker 2: FaceTime is so so incredible.
- 15:01Speaker 1: I have so many long distance friends that live in
- 15:04Speaker 1: different parts of Canada that I FaceTime all the time,
- 15:07Speaker 1: and every time we FaceTime, it just literally feels like
- 15:10Speaker 1: we're just catching up. It doesn't feel like I haven't
- 15:12Speaker 1: chat with them in such a long time. It literally
- 15:13Speaker 1: feels like it's been maybe a few weeks. And I
- 15:16Speaker 1: really really do enjoy catching up with long distance friends
- 15:19Speaker 1: and catching up with them, and again, it just kind
- 15:22Speaker 1: of allows you to get that one on one connection
- 15:26Speaker 1: with your family or friends by having those FaceTime calls
- 15:30Speaker 1: and again reaching out to people that are your comfort
- 15:32Speaker 1: people who bring you so much joy, can really help
- 15:35Speaker 1: you through this transition. And that's why I think just
- 15:38Speaker 1: like leaning on your comfort people or your family or
- 15:41Speaker 1: your friends is so important.
- 15:42Speaker 2: I have a very close.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Relationship with my sister, and I'm very grateful for the
- 15:46Speaker 1: relationship that we do have, because I know a lot
- 15:48Speaker 1: of people are not always close with their siblings. So
- 15:52Speaker 1: I really do cherish that relationship with her. And she's
- 15:55Speaker 1: definitely someone that I lean on a lot when it
- 15:58Speaker 1: comes to just things I want to talk about that
- 16:01Speaker 1: I don't want to bottle up inside, Like we talk
- 16:03Speaker 1: to each other about our own problems, Like she talks
- 16:05Speaker 1: to me about her problems, I talk to her about
- 16:07Speaker 1: my problems, and it just feels really good to sometimes
- 16:10Speaker 1: just like let.
- 16:11Speaker 2: Those feelings out.
- 16:12Speaker 1: And yeah, so that's probably one thing that I could
- 16:15Speaker 1: work on, but I definitely do try and focus on
- 16:18Speaker 1: talking about with my sister as much as I can
- 16:20Speaker 1: my mom when I'm going through my pregnancy craziness that
- 16:24Speaker 1: I'm you know, just scared of going through but also
- 16:27Speaker 1: excited at the same time, and obviously talking to my
- 16:29Speaker 1: husband about how I'm feeling, and yeah, so I try
- 16:32Speaker 1: my best to talk it out with people that bring
- 16:35Speaker 1: me comfort and give me, you know, positive advice, and again,
- 16:39Speaker 1: just also letting out those feelings and not have them
- 16:41Speaker 1: bottle them up inside is so so important. So lean
- 16:45Speaker 1: on your friends, lean on your family. It will feel
- 16:48Speaker 1: really really good just to kind of let those feelings out.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Another thing that I've seen, actually a lot of people
- 16:53Speaker 1: talk about going through just changes in general, is picking up.
- 16:57Speaker 2: A new hobby. So I've seen a lot of people.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Talk about, you know, picking up small hobbies like needle
- 17:03Speaker 1: pointing or reading a book, or you know, getting coloring books.
- 17:08Speaker 2: It's a great way to keep your mind busy.
- 17:11Speaker 1: So instead of like constantly stressing out or worrying about
- 17:14Speaker 1: this major life change in your life, you can focus
- 17:17Speaker 1: on something else.
- 17:18Speaker 2: And I feel like social media.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Especially when you're scrolling on your phone, I don't find
- 17:23Speaker 1: it's always the best thing for me. Like sometimes I
- 17:26Speaker 1: get down a rabbit hole of types of videos that
- 17:28Speaker 1: I really don't want to be seeing, and then I
- 17:31Speaker 1: get in my head a lot about it, and then
- 17:33Speaker 1: it stresses me out.
- 17:34Speaker 2: I get more anxious.
- 17:35Speaker 1: So sometimes putting the phone away and putting it to
- 17:38Speaker 1: the side and doing something that's kind of better for
- 17:41Speaker 1: your mind, like you know, coloring or painting or needle
- 17:45Speaker 1: pointing or reading a book can be a great way
- 17:48Speaker 1: to kind of just again keep your mind busy. And
- 17:51Speaker 1: it's kind of another way to relax and just calm
- 17:55Speaker 1: your mind down and again something that's very therapeutic. So
- 18:00Speaker 1: that's something that I've been trying to do. I actually
- 18:02Speaker 1: just ordered a water coloring book. It's a Christmas theme
- 18:06Speaker 1: one that I found. I think I found it on
- 18:08Speaker 1: Anthropology and I'll link it when it comes in for
- 18:11Speaker 1: anyone that's interested anyways, that's something that I've been wanting
- 18:14Speaker 1: to try and pick.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Up for a hobby, along with reading a book.
- 18:18Speaker 1: So I've been reading a lot of educational books about
- 18:21Speaker 1: prepping for pregnancy. So one of the books that I'm
- 18:24Speaker 1: reading is about nutrition and lifestyle when it comes to
- 18:29Speaker 1: prepping for preconception, and it's honestly just been really educational
- 18:33Speaker 1: and I've learned already so much after reading just like
- 18:36Speaker 1: the first five chapters. It is crazy how much food
- 18:40Speaker 1: and lifestyle can be such a huge impact in the
- 18:43Speaker 1: way that your body is for prepping for pregnancy. So
- 18:48Speaker 1: that's been something that I've actually been really enjoying. I've
- 18:50Speaker 1: been walking on my walking pad and reading a chapter
- 18:52Speaker 1: a day. These chapters are also like twenty five pages long.
- 18:57Speaker 1: I was beyond shocked. I was like, when does the
- 19:00Speaker 1: chapter m here? I'm like walking and I'm like, this
- 19:02Speaker 1: is like a never ending chapter. But anyways, the chapters
- 19:04Speaker 1: in this book are really long, but it's really focused
- 19:07Speaker 1: on like food, lifestyle, you know, supplements, everything that you
- 19:12Speaker 1: can do for your body to kind of prep yourself
- 19:15Speaker 1: through this journey. So anyways, point is it's been kind
- 19:17Speaker 1: of nice to just like read and not be on
- 19:19Speaker 1: my phone as much. So yeah, anyways, reading has been
- 19:22Speaker 1: really nice. But also just getting this water coloring book
- 19:25Speaker 1: I think will be great because it kind of gets
- 19:26Speaker 1: my mind off of the major life change that's happening.
- 19:29Speaker 2: For me right now.
- 19:30Speaker 1: But you know, if you're someone that is going through
- 19:33Speaker 1: any of these changes that I listed, moving, breakup or
- 19:36Speaker 1: anything like that, it's so so important to pick up
- 19:39Speaker 1: a hobby. And this could also be like joining a
- 19:42Speaker 1: different sports team. So maybe you want to take up tennis,
- 19:45Speaker 1: maybe you want to become a runner, Maybe you want
- 19:48Speaker 1: to join a pick a ball team or a soccer team, Like,
- 19:51Speaker 1: there's so many other things that you can do besides
- 19:53Speaker 1: just like little hobbies that you can do at home.
- 19:55Speaker 1: I just feel like the hobbies at home kind of
- 19:57Speaker 1: create a routine for yourself, Like maybe you can to
- 20:00Speaker 1: your night routine of doing these little things that distract
- 20:02Speaker 1: your mind, whereas like joining a sports team might only
- 20:06Speaker 1: be like a once or twice a week thing, but hey,
- 20:09Speaker 1: still do it if you're looking to kind of again
- 20:12Speaker 1: distract your mind.
- 20:13Speaker 2: But also for anyone that's.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Maybe moving to a new city, this could be a
- 20:17Speaker 1: good way to meet friends. Is joining some type of
- 20:19Speaker 1: sports team or some type of club, or again joining
- 20:23Speaker 1: a gym membership or pilate studio. It's a great way
- 20:26Speaker 1: to meet new friends and new people. So that's just
- 20:28Speaker 1: kind of an idea for anyone that might be moving
- 20:30Speaker 1: to a new city that needs advice on how to
- 20:33Speaker 1: meet friends.
- 20:33Speaker 2: But yeah, just picking up a hobby or joining a
- 20:37Speaker 2: sports team or a gym.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Or pilates studio could really be a great way to
- 20:43Speaker 1: distract your mind and not think about the major life
- 20:45Speaker 1: change that you're going through. Another thing to note when
- 20:48Speaker 1: you're going through this transition is change takes time to adapt.
- 20:53Speaker 1: So of course, when this major life change happens, you
- 20:57Speaker 1: need to realize that the first few weeks are not
- 21:00Speaker 1: going to be easy, Like it is going to be
- 21:01Speaker 1: difficult for you to kind of go through this journey
- 21:06Speaker 1: and this change that you're currently going through. It doesn't
- 21:09Speaker 1: heal overnight, and you know it's going to kind of
- 21:12Speaker 1: go day by day. But to understand that you shouldn't
- 21:15Speaker 1: be hard on yourself is the most important part, because
- 21:18Speaker 1: you know, when you're too hard on yourself, it really
- 21:22Speaker 1: really affects your mental health. And I think you need
- 21:24Speaker 1: to give yourself some positive affirmations and tell yourself that
- 21:28Speaker 1: this is only temporary and that there is a healing
- 21:32Speaker 1: journey in place, and you're taking these steps into your
- 21:35Speaker 1: day to day routine to really help yourself feel more
- 21:38Speaker 1: confident going into this major life change. I think it's
- 21:40Speaker 1: also all about telling yourself that there's gonna be good
- 21:43Speaker 1: days and there's gonna be bad days, and that's basically
- 21:45Speaker 1: the whole part of change, is that you're going to
- 21:49Speaker 1: go through good days and bad days, and it's going
- 21:51Speaker 1: to take time.
- 21:52Speaker 2: You're going to see that healing.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Part of yourself where you know, maybe a month from now,
- 21:59Speaker 1: your move into a new city, or you're going through
- 22:01Speaker 1: a breakup, or you just had a brand new baby,
- 22:03Speaker 1: Like just focusing on yourself for like four weeks or
- 22:07Speaker 1: four months or you know six months, you're gonna see
- 22:10Speaker 1: a completely different person, and you're gonna realize how happy
- 22:14Speaker 1: you were that you put all that energy in yourself
- 22:16Speaker 1: and focus on yourself by doing these little habits or
- 22:19Speaker 1: these little things to help you get through that major
- 22:21Speaker 1: life transition, and there's gonna be so much more positivity
- 22:26Speaker 1: and less negativity, and just you're gonna think back and think,
- 22:31Speaker 1: I can't believe I was so hard on myself going
- 22:33Speaker 1: through that journey, and I'm so happy to where I
- 22:36Speaker 1: am today for you know, doing my journaling and doing
- 22:40Speaker 1: those little hobbies and getting myself out of the house
- 22:42Speaker 1: and working on myself to get.
- 22:44Speaker 2: To this point in my life.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Right, So just kind of do the little things, and
- 22:49Speaker 1: the little things really do add up and make a
- 22:51Speaker 1: huge difference at the end of the day, especially when
- 22:54Speaker 1: you're going through such a big change.
- 22:56Speaker 2: And just to build off.
- 22:57Speaker 1: That point for going into the last point for my
- 23:00Speaker 1: tips for leaning into this major life change is putting
- 23:04Speaker 1: a purpose to this transition. So it kind of goes
- 23:08Speaker 1: hand in hand with the positive affirmations because there's.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Obviously a reason that you're going through this major shift.
- 23:13Speaker 1: So tell yourself the reason why I'm going through this
- 23:16Speaker 1: is because the end goal is to get to this point,
- 23:19Speaker 1: which is where I want to be at if you
- 23:21Speaker 1: wanted to move to a new city because you were
- 23:24Speaker 1: going to experience so many new adventures and maybe meet
- 23:28Speaker 1: so many new friends and.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Kind of have a fresh start.
- 23:31Speaker 1: That's the positive out of the situation is that you're
- 23:33Speaker 1: gonna be able to have brand new experiences and memories
- 23:36Speaker 1: that you're gonna make, and you're gonna meet so many
- 23:38Speaker 1: new people, and you are kind of starting your life
- 23:41Speaker 1: from scratch. So kind of maybe also write out the
- 23:44Speaker 1: positives of your life transition to kind of bring some
- 23:48Speaker 1: motivation into this life change. For me, it's like thinking about,
- 23:52Speaker 1: you know, having a baby and having a kid with
- 23:55Speaker 1: my husband and being able to experience those things that
- 23:59Speaker 1: I've always wanted to experience, like little family adventures and
- 24:02Speaker 1: experiences and just like making breakfast together with my kids.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Like those little things are like what I want my
- 24:10Speaker 2: goal in life to be.
- 24:11Speaker 1: And so I think about those positive things and that
- 24:13Speaker 1: gets me excited. For right, I don't think about the negative.
- 24:16Speaker 1: I think all about the positive, and it motivates me.
- 24:18Speaker 1: It gets me excited. So maybe write down a few
- 24:21Speaker 1: positives out of your current transition and why you're so
- 24:26Speaker 1: excited to adapt to this life change.
- 24:28Speaker 2: What makes it exciting. If you're starting a new career,
- 24:31Speaker 2: you're going to grow and learn so many new skills.
- 24:34Speaker 1: If you're going through a breakup, you're going to learn
- 24:37Speaker 1: so much about yourself and just reminding yourself that maybe
- 24:40Speaker 1: things were meant to be and that that guy wasn't
- 24:43Speaker 1: your person. And that's why you know you're one step
- 24:46Speaker 1: closer to finding the right person. And it's a good
- 24:48Speaker 1: thing that you kind of got out of it when
- 24:50Speaker 1: you did, because now it allows you to bring yourself
- 24:53Speaker 1: closer to.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Your husband or your girlfriend or partner in general.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Right, So everything that is happening, there's always a positive
- 25:02Speaker 1: out of it, and you can always find ways to
- 25:05Speaker 1: rate out the positive things that can come out to
- 25:08Speaker 1: be out of the situation and know that, yeah, it's.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Going to suck for the first few weeks or the
- 25:13Speaker 2: first few.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Months, and that it's going to be hard to adapt,
- 25:17Speaker 1: But as long as you keep pushing yourself and thinking
- 25:19Speaker 1: about the end goal of like where you want to
- 25:22Speaker 1: be out of this major life transition, and that there's
- 25:25Speaker 1: going to be so much more positives out of it
- 25:27Speaker 1: than negatives, you are going to see such a stronger
- 25:32Speaker 1: and brighter version of yourself that you've always wanted to see,
- 25:35Speaker 1: and it's just going to bring you so much positivity
- 25:37Speaker 1: and strength and really.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Push you through those hard times. So those are some
- 25:41Speaker 2: tips that I recommend when you're going through a major
- 25:43Speaker 2: life change.
- 25:44Speaker 1: And obviously I've talked about it a lot, but I
- 25:47Speaker 1: am currently in the journey of prepping for pregnancy and
- 25:51Speaker 1: just kind of going through how I can prepare myself
- 25:54Speaker 1: mentally through these next few months, preparing myself before preconception,
- 26:00Speaker 1: and I've talked about it a lot.
- 26:02Speaker 2: On TikTok and Instagram.
- 26:03Speaker 1: But a few things that I'm doing mentally is I've
- 26:07Speaker 1: been reading a lot of books. As I said, I'm
- 26:09Speaker 1: doing a lot of research, listening to informative podcasts. I
- 26:13Speaker 1: will try and link the podcasts that I've listened to
- 26:15Speaker 1: so far, I've strictly, honestly searched them on chatchbt.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Like I literally just went on Chatgibt and I was like.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Can you give me podcast recommendations for someone who is
- 26:25Speaker 1: prepping for pregnancy or prepping for preconception, And then you know,
- 26:29Speaker 1: Chatgibt just gave me a bunch of random episodes that
- 26:32Speaker 1: kind of highlight preconception and just kind of like things
- 26:36Speaker 1: that women and men can do mentally to prepare themselves
- 26:39Speaker 1: for this journey. So this is not something that everybody does, Okay,
- 26:43Speaker 1: like not everybody goes through a pregnancy prep journey. I
- 26:47Speaker 1: am personally just doing it because I think I feel
- 26:51Speaker 1: more mentally prepared knowing that I'm educating myself on this,
- 26:56Speaker 1: and if I can do anything myself, or if Zach
- 26:59Speaker 1: can do anything himself to better prepare us for this
- 27:03Speaker 1: next phase in our life, I would one hundred percent
- 27:05Speaker 1: rather do that than go and blind not knowing what
- 27:08Speaker 1: we're doing or what we're doing wrong. I've just always
- 27:11Speaker 1: been that kind of person where I've always wanted to
- 27:13Speaker 1: educate myself and prepare myself for this next step or
- 27:16Speaker 1: next phase of my life. So it's just something that
- 27:19Speaker 1: I really think has helped me mentally as well, because
- 27:22Speaker 1: I was that kind of person where I have always
- 27:26Speaker 1: kind of been scared to take on change, and you know,
- 27:31Speaker 1: I want to be able to learn as much as
- 27:34Speaker 1: I can to go.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Into this next phase in my life.
- 27:37Speaker 1: So one of them being is that Zach and I
- 27:39Speaker 1: have both made the agreement that we are not going
- 27:41Speaker 1: to drink for six months before trying for pregnancy, along
- 27:47Speaker 1: with obviously not drinking while we're trying to conceive. So
- 27:49Speaker 1: that's one thing that we've both made a non negotiabal
- 27:52Speaker 1: and then another one is is that we're trying to
- 27:56Speaker 1: take some supplements. So I recently started taking a prenatal
- 27:59Speaker 1: by the Ritual. I've been taking Ritual for a really
- 28:02Speaker 1: long time now. I've been taking their multi vitamin for
- 28:05Speaker 1: the past two years, so it's been a brand that
- 28:06Speaker 1: I've really really trusted, and yeah, so I'm taking their prenatal.
- 28:10Speaker 2: I've been loving it so far. I take it at night.
- 28:12Speaker 1: I take two capsules, and I also take magnesium, which
- 28:17Speaker 1: magnesium has truly changed my life, Like it has helped
- 28:21Speaker 1: my mind so much, my muscle so much, especially for
- 28:25Speaker 1: me because I work out so often.
- 28:26Speaker 2: I feel like magnesium really really allows myself.
- 28:29Speaker 1: To relax and my muscles just honestly get overworked and
- 28:33Speaker 1: I just need to just kind of like destress the
- 28:37Speaker 1: body by taking magnesium.
- 28:39Speaker 2: I also feel like it just really helps my sleep
- 28:41Speaker 2: in general.
- 28:42Speaker 1: I feel like I wake up feeling so much well
- 28:44Speaker 1: rested when I take magnesium.
- 28:45Speaker 2: It's also one of the top things that I've.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Heard on a podcast about prepping for pregnancy is just
- 28:51Speaker 1: including magnesium.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Into your routine just so.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Your body is intense or stress, you really just want
- 28:56Speaker 1: to try and feel as relaxed as possible. So I've
- 29:00Speaker 1: been taking that every single night. And then just like
- 29:03Speaker 1: little things I've been doing in my lifestyle, like I'm
- 29:06Speaker 1: trying to add more strength workouts into my routine, so
- 29:10Speaker 1: I've been doing a combination of pilates and strength. I've
- 29:13Speaker 1: also been upping my protein in the morning, so I've
- 29:16Speaker 1: been trying to have thirty grams of protein in the
- 29:18Speaker 1: morning before I start, like before I start my day,
- 29:21Speaker 1: so I have thirty grams of protein in my breakfast.
- 29:24Speaker 1: So I'll usually have like Greek yogurt with two eggs,
- 29:28Speaker 1: and yeah, I feel like it's been my new go
- 29:31Speaker 1: to breakfast that I've been having daily. So again, just
- 29:33Speaker 1: kind of focusing on nutrition, eating a really healthy and
- 29:37Speaker 1: balanced lifestyle. I feel like I've seen food in such
- 29:41Speaker 1: a different way since I started to read this book
- 29:44Speaker 1: and just appreciate carbs so much more and vegetables and
- 29:48Speaker 1: all that. When it comes to just really focusing on
- 29:51Speaker 1: your body and knowing what it needs.
- 29:53Speaker 2: So yeah, the book that I'm.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Reading is called Real Food for Pregnancy, and again it
- 29:58Speaker 1: just kind of talks about this science behind nutrition and
- 30:02Speaker 1: lifestyle when it comes to preconception. And then the last
- 30:06Speaker 1: thing is just booking all my doctor's appointments, all my
- 30:10Speaker 1: dentist appointments, just making sure that everything is good.
- 30:14Speaker 2: For my body, my health is good.
- 30:17Speaker 1: I want to get my blood work done so I
- 30:18Speaker 1: know what vitamins I need to take moving forward, and
- 30:21Speaker 1: my low in iron and my low in omega three
- 30:23Speaker 1: is like just knowing what my body needs for vitamin wise,
- 30:26Speaker 1: I think is really important. And also just having the
- 30:29Speaker 1: conversation with my doctor I think is going to be
- 30:31Speaker 1: really really good and comforting just to kind of talk
- 30:35Speaker 1: to her about everything that I'm feeling and just my
- 30:38Speaker 1: thoughts about pregnancy and all that she has been my
- 30:41Speaker 1: doctor now for I think ten years. I want to say, so,
- 30:45Speaker 1: I really really love my doctor, and she makes me
- 30:47Speaker 1: feel so calm when I talk to her and really
- 30:50Speaker 1: doesn't make me feel stressed at all, which is kind
- 30:52Speaker 1: of nice. So I think it's going to be really
- 30:55Speaker 1: reassuring to talk to her all about this and how
- 30:57Speaker 1: I'm feeling. And yeah, so if you haven't, I highly
- 31:01Speaker 1: recommend booking a pre pregnancy appointment with your doctor to
- 31:04Speaker 1: kind of just like talk about things that you're currently feeling,
- 31:07Speaker 1: and I really do think it.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Will help you mentally and just make you feel so
- 31:10Speaker 2: much better.
- 31:12Speaker 1: I will vlog as much as I can throughout this
- 31:14Speaker 1: journey on TikTok and Instagram of just kind of how
- 31:17Speaker 1: I'm prepping for this. So if you guys want to
- 31:20Speaker 1: see that journey, you guys can see that on there.
- 31:22Speaker 1: But I just wanted to share a few things that
- 31:24Speaker 1: I was doing because I know a lot of you
- 31:25Speaker 1: guys wanted me to talk about it briefly about things
- 31:27Speaker 1: I'm doing mentally and physically for this journey. But that's
- 31:30Speaker 1: everything I'm doing so far. I feel like right now,
- 31:32Speaker 1: it's very much the beginning stages. I just wanted to
- 31:35Speaker 1: share for anyone that was interested that might be going
- 31:37Speaker 1: through it currently that wanted some advice.
