- 0:06[SPEAKER_01]: On Dr. Steve Turley, join me every day as we discover answers to today's toughest challenges and explore the re-bondalization of conservative civilization.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_01]: This is Turley Talks.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_01]: If you thought the corruption scandal and Minnesota was bad, wait until you see what's now happening
- 0:30[SPEAKER_01]: With federal investigators closing in from multiple directions, his own chief of staff pleading guilty to federal felonies.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_01]: His wife's charity under criminal scrutiny by the DOJ and the FBI.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_01]: And now, JD Vance, the frauds are himself with his crosshairs lock squarely on Sacramento.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_01]: The political store of the grease monkey himself, Gavin Newsom is falling.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: and you're about to find out exactly why.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_01]: On June 15th, Gavin Newsom went full panic mode on X, where released a video announcing that President Trump had directed the Department of Justice to investigate him and his wife, Jennifer Sebel Newsom, over allegations tied to so-called behested payments.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_01]: The has to payments are a practice in which new some pressured companies doing business with or regulated by the state of California to donate millions of dollars to Jennifer's non-profit the California partners project in what investigators are scrutinizing.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: as a potential pay to play corruption scheme.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_01]: Newsom of course did his best to turn it around to his own political favor claiming that he is a victim of a political witch hunt.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: Donald Trump hit the wrong target.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: We have nothing to hide.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_01]: Now what does that remind you of?
- 2:08[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, can you see the finger wagging in the overall for that?
- 2:11[SPEAKER_01]: I did not have sex with that woman.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_01]: I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_01]: I never told anyone to lie.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: Never, never in my whole life.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's patently comical at this point.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_01]: This rabbit hole surrounding Newsom and his
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: CD web of corruption.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_01]: Apparently runs very, very deep.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_01]: Let's start with the investigation itself because here's the first thing you need to know.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_01]: Newsom, of course, is claiming this is a politically motivated witch hunt by Donald Trump.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_01]: Again, nice try.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: Even CNN.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, CNN.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_01]: Confirmed that this investigation was not initiated by Trump appointed officials in Washington.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_01]: It was started last year by the U.S. Attorney's Office in Sacramento, California's own capital, based on whistleblower tips from within Newsom's own staff.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_01]: Grandjury subpoenas have been issued, witnesses have been interviewed, financial documents belonging to the Newsom family of reportedly been obtained by investigators.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_01]: and it started long before anyone in Washington decided to make it a priority.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: So, what exactly are they investing in?
- 3:26[SPEAKER_01]: Well, there were really two tracks here, and both of them lead directly back to Gavin Newsom.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_01]: So, track one is Newsom's wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_01]: Jennifer runs a gender equity non-profit,
- 3:46[SPEAKER_01]: And here's where it gets interesting.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_01]: Gavin Newsom has used a legal mechanism called a Behested Payment to funnel over $4.4 million in donations from private companies directly into his wife's nonprofit.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_01]: Now, a Behested Payment is when a public official asks private entities, often, companies that do business with or are regulated by the state.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: donate to a charity of the officials choosing.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_01]: Now, is it technically legal?
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_01]: But is it ethically in nuclear disaster?
- 4:23[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_01]: And here's why.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_01]: The donors include Silicon Valley Bank, the Pritzker family, Native American tribes,
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: but then in turn, received $216 million in California state contracts.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: Hmm.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: Comcast donated $15,000 to a non-profit and low and behold, they received $20 million from the state.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_01]: Kaiser Permanente donated $20,000.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_01]: and what do you know they in turn received 172 million dollars from the state are you seeing the pattern here are you seeing how this works pay to play baby.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: you donate to the governor's wife's charity and suddenly you find yourself swimming in California state contracts and all the while, Jennifer herself, ha ha she's been collecting man, she's because I kid you not 3.7 million dollars in salary from her own nonprofit over the last decade, 150 grand a year plus another 150 grand
- 5:45[SPEAKER_01]: uh... a year to her private uh... production company girls club llc for writer director producer fee fee so she's making three hundred thousand dollars all this stuff not back investigators are now looking very carefully at whether any of this crosses into things like tax fraud or personal use of non-profit funds or outright corruption
- 6:08[SPEAKER_01]: And the California Fair Political Practices Commission has already fined the greasy Gavin Newsom 13,000 dollars last year for failing to timely report over 14.3 million dollars in Behasted Payment.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: So at least at one level he's already been caught.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_01]: He's already been fined.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: And now the feds are training that like smoke and looking for the fire.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: And it looks like they found it.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: But first, have you noticed how fast the world is changing right now with every single week, bringing another headline about companies, cutting workers, prices going higher and families wondering if the old plan still works?
- 6:53[SPEAKER_01]: Because for years, the establishment told us, you know, go to work, trust the system, put money in a 401k, and everything will be fine.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_01]: But what happens when you're paycheck?
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: You're retirement.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_01]: And your entire family's future or all time to decisions made by people who you'll never meet, and that's exactly how they keep it dependent.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: But what if you did not have to stay trapped in that system?
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: What if you were just one trade plan away from a more independent financial future?
- 7:25[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the message inside the name backpack.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: Trader.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's not about Wall Street.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's not about staring at screens all day.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's about learning a simple plan you can carry with you a plan that can help you build skill, confidence, and real choices from wherever you are.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_01]: And now I know some of you were saying, oh, come on Steve, trading.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_01]: Stock trade.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_01]: Isn't that risky and complicated?

- 8:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's waiting for you together.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_01]: So here's where track two of this investigation comes in.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: And it hits even closer to home.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_01]: This isn't ultimately about Newsom's wife's charity.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_01]: This is about him, to about his own office, specifically his own chief of staff.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_01]: In May of this year, Dana Williamson, Gavin Newsom's former chief of staff, his top aide, the person who ran his office, walked into federal court and pleaded guilty to three federal felonies.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_01]: Three, she pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit bank fraud.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: wire fraud and filing a false tax return.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_01]: She faces up to 30 years in federal prison and over a million dollars in fines.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: She and her co-conspirators were charged with stealing $225,000 from a dormant campaign account belonging to Havier Bacera, the former California Attorney General.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_01]: She lied to the FBI.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_01]: She filed false tax return.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_01]: She fraudgently deducted personal expenses.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_01]: We're talking like,
- 10:06[SPEAKER_01]: veterinary bills and home goods, payments to family members as business expensives.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: Now, what's so key to get here, this wasn't merely a staff member of Gavin Newsom.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_01]: This was Gavin Newsom's chief of staff.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_01]: Again, it wasn't some low level staff from the Parks Department.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_01]: This is the person who sounded the right hand at the Governor of California and she just
- 10:35[SPEAKER_01]: Now, of course, Newsom is desperately trying to distance himself from all that.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_01]: He said he finds the news distressing and hard, and then he didn't know the details.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_01]: But again, here's the question investigators are asking, and beginning to probe, how on earth did you not know what your own chief of staff was doing?
- 10:52[SPEAKER_01]: How does this happen in your office, on your watch, and you claim you had no idea?
- 11:05[SPEAKER_01]: The frauds are President Trump appointed Vice President JD Vance to lead the White House Anti-Fraud Task Force, and Vance has been on an absolute tear.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_01]: You may remember just a few weeks ago, Vance issued a criminal referral to the DOJ against Minnesota Governor Tim Walsh and Attorney General Keith Ellison for their role in that state's massive fraud scandal.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_01]: is next.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_01]: The feds have already launched a criminal investigation into homelessness for odd across seven Southern California counties, the FBI, the IRS and the HUD inspector general they're all working together.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: Do you remember that $24 billion that California spent on homelessness programs with no way to track where any of it went?
- 11:53[SPEAKER_01]: You remember that?
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: The DOJ is already brought fraud charges against two LA real estate developers tied to homeless
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: 70 hospices in Los Angeles were suspended by Vance's anti-fraud task force needed to know the hospice fraud scandal.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_01]: And Newsom, who vetoed bipartisan transparency legislation that would have caught these fraudsters years ago, is right at the center of all of it.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: Again, keep him a Newsom vetoed the bipartisan bill that would have tracked the $24 billion in missing homelessness funds.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, these are the actions of an innocent man.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_01]: These are the actions of someone who desperately did not want anyone looking to closely.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_01]: And the voters are starting to figure it out because the deeper you dig into what's happening in blue state America, from Minneapolis to Los Angeles to Sacramento, the more you see the same pattern.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_01]: Money flows from taxpayers to the state, from the state to the cities, from the cities to the non-profits.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_01]: from the non-profits to the politically connected, and somewhere along the way, it disappears.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_01]: Everyone gets paid, everyone gets their cut, everyone that is, except the people they were supposed to help.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_01]: Except the homeless people sleeping on the streets of Los Angeles, that all the money was supposed to go to.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_01]: And the people responsible, well, they called themselves compassionate.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_01]: They lecture you about democracy in the rule of law,
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: and then they stuff the cash and their wife's charity accounts and veto the transparency bills that might expose them.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_01]: The good news is that JD Vans has them in his sights.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_01]: The FBI has them in their sights.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_01]: The IRS has them in their sights.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_01]: And with new some fuming and squirming on X all the while his own chief of staff is cutting plea deals in federal court.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_01]: I got to say the grease monkey of Sacramento has got a lot of explaining to do.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: So what do you guys think?
