- 0:55Speaker 1: Dan Lombardo. Really wow, just like that, Just like that,
- 1:01Speaker 1: I got some predictions of my owne.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Oh yeah, the the awards, Yes, people will be quite
- 1:08Speaker 2: surprised with what with what wins. I think some trolls
- 1:14Speaker 2: got to our awards, but we'll see.
- 1:16Speaker 1: I would just like to start out the show by saying,
- 1:18Speaker 1: I I think I think that the awards were completely fair.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I think that whatever the results are represents the will
- 1:27Speaker 1: of the people. I think people voted with integrity and passion.
- 1:32Speaker 3: Yeah you say that, Now, wait till you get the awards.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Oh boy, just wait till you get the awards.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Okay, sounds like there might be some upsets that I'm
- 1:46Speaker 1: not aware of.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Oh yeah, oh boy.
- 1:52Speaker 4: The Capitol, he might be.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Well, man, I want to see him with the the
- 2:04Speaker 2: the shaman head dress.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Stormy right with the horns and everything.
- 2:07Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, yeah.
- 2:11Speaker 4: So it's been a minute since.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Uh yeah, it's all three of us. I didn't make
- 2:18Speaker 1: the last one, yeah right, and then before that, Dan
- 2:21Speaker 1: didn't make the last one. The one before that.
- 2:24Speaker 4: Yeah, we've had COVID and the flu has just been
- 2:28Speaker 4: like circling through this house.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Oh man, it's all across the country. All the holidays,
- 2:33Speaker 1: you get together with a bunch of people you don't
- 2:35Speaker 1: really get together with its.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Most important here.
- 2:38Speaker 3: That's right, that's.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Right, I get it. I get it.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I got it too, man.
- 2:48Speaker 3: And it lingered.
- 2:49Speaker 2: I mean it's I still got a little bit of stuffiness,
- 2:51Speaker 2: but other than that, I'm fine. Yeah, it's just it's
- 2:53Speaker 2: still annoying. You guys are doing much better.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Dan, Yeah, yeah, everyone's been a lot better.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Okay.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Good.
- 3:00Speaker 4: It went back to work, It went back to school,
- 3:03Speaker 4: so yeah, yeah, I was going to work for a
- 3:08Speaker 4: full week, and then I went back to work for
- 3:11Speaker 4: one day and then there was an ice storm and
- 3:14Speaker 4: then my holiday vacation started. So when I went back
- 3:17Speaker 4: to work, yeah, when I went back to work on
- 3:21Speaker 4: I think it was January fifth, like, and it's not
- 3:25Speaker 4: there's no one at my job. That's like, yeah, Dan,
- 3:26Speaker 4: it's not here. Let me take you.
- 3:29Speaker 3: No, no, yeah, it just up.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Are you still blame ketchup or you finally caught up?
- 3:36Speaker 4: I'm finally caught up.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Okay, that's really good. Yeah, yeah yeah.
- 3:42Speaker 4: But my saving grace was so many, so many other
- 3:47Speaker 4: people also got sick and took a bunch of time
- 3:50Speaker 4: off that like the whole operation stopped.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Oh there you go.
- 3:54Speaker 1: So that way, it didn't make you look bad. Yeah.
- 3:57Speaker 4: I really couldn't pile up that bad because nothing.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Did.
- 4:02Speaker 3: You guys all have a good Christmas at least or
- 4:04Speaker 3: good New Year's.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, a lot of fun New Year's.
- 4:10Speaker 4: I fell asleep on the couch eleven thirty, so you know,
- 4:12Speaker 4: I did my usual there you wake up the morning.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Okay, Yeah, it was it was mediocre for New Year's.
- 4:21Speaker 1: I mean just you know, it was usually we have
- 4:23Speaker 1: a few people over and we kind of had a
- 4:25Speaker 1: nice storm too, and it was nasty and so nobody
- 4:27Speaker 1: really came over. We had a couple of friends come over,
- 4:28Speaker 1: but they left it like ten and then we just
- 4:30Speaker 1: stayed up, my my youngest son, and my wife. My
- 4:33Speaker 1: oldest was he took a trip to Chicago, so there
- 4:37Speaker 1: was just the three of us. We stayed up, watched
- 4:38Speaker 1: the ball drop and you know it was it was
- 4:42Speaker 1: a bad It's been a bad football a couple of weeks.
- 4:46Speaker 1: So the Lions got knocked out of the playoffs. The
- 4:49Speaker 1: Wolverines lost their game.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Wait, wait, you have lions that played football.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Yes, we have Lions that played Lions of play football origins.
- 4:58Speaker 4: You said something about Wolverine.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Yeah, well the wolver read yeah X Men origins and uh,
- 5:02Speaker 1: the Wolves very much. So a lot of deflated balls. Yeah,
- 5:09Speaker 1: it's Brady Gate all over again. Okay, So you.
- 5:13Speaker 4: Know, being home, everyone being home and being on the couch,
- 5:17Speaker 4: you know, you gotta find different ways to entertain yourself.
- 5:19Speaker 4: So my son and I we started rewatching the Marvel
- 5:23Speaker 4: movies from and anticipation of Doomsday coming out next year.
- 5:28Speaker 4: We figured, you know, we could do it slowly and
- 5:32Speaker 4: maybe rewatch everything before that movie comes out. And you
- 5:36Speaker 4: know some of those movies are pretty old. Yeah, now,
- 5:41Speaker 4: rewatching rewatching the first Iron Man, it's like, oh yeah,
- 5:47Speaker 4: this was this was pre iPhone. He's got a no
- 5:51Speaker 4: Kia looking thing.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 5:57Speaker 4: So it was fun stuff like that. But it was
- 6:00Speaker 4: so fun to pick up things that I missed the
- 6:04Speaker 4: first time. The first few times around. I can't believe
- 6:09Speaker 4: I missed this. But the first I think it's the
- 6:12Speaker 4: first time you see you know, it's not the first
- 6:14Speaker 4: time you see him. Would you see Tony Stark in
- 6:17Speaker 4: the casino when when Rody is accepting the award for
- 6:21Speaker 4: him and then they cut away and Tony's playing craps
- 6:23Speaker 4: when he's supposed to be accepting the reward. Oh yeah,
- 6:26Speaker 4: music playing. The music playing in the background is like
- 6:30Speaker 4: a horn version of the theme song from the Iron
- 6:34Speaker 4: Man cartoons from the nineteen sixties. Oh wow, I don't
- 6:39Speaker 4: know how I didn't catch that. You know, that's cool
- 6:43Speaker 4: or whatever whatever that thing came out.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Yeah, that movie does date itself because he's like they
- 6:48Speaker 1: take a selfie of him at the beginning of the movies, like,
- 6:50Speaker 1: don't I don't want to see this on your MySpace page.
- 6:53Speaker 1: It's like if that had come out six months later,
- 6:55Speaker 1: like they would have realized that Facebook would have been
- 6:57Speaker 1: a thing more of a thing.
- 6:58Speaker 3: It's but that's hilarious.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Wow.
- 7:05Speaker 4: Nice.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Well, Uh, there's a lot of movies to go through though, Okay,
- 7:08Speaker 1: I mean even if you watch one a week, you
- 7:11Speaker 1: know you're still going to be into September.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Yeah, there's like close to forty right.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Plus there's a lot of you know, some of the
- 7:19Speaker 1: series you don't really have to pay attention to, Like
- 7:22Speaker 1: the Netflix series, you don't really need to know, but
- 7:24Speaker 1: there's some of the series that you kind of need to.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Yeah, Like I think Loki is going to be very important.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Yep, we're going to watch everything.
- 7:32Speaker 4: Yeah, we're not going to watch everything. We're probably not
- 7:34Speaker 4: going to watch the Netflix stuff because you know, he's
- 7:39Speaker 4: I know, he's getting older, he's thirteen, but still you.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Know that Punisher is Punisher and later Daredevil stuff is
- 7:46Speaker 1: a bit.
- 7:47Speaker 3: Much Jessica Jones stuff too, Yeah.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Jessica Jones, Luke Cage.
- 7:52Speaker 4: And there's and you know what, there's stuff that I
- 7:54Speaker 4: just really didn't enjoy so much. And I don't know
- 7:57Speaker 4: if I want to sit through it again. I don't
- 7:59Speaker 4: think I need to watch Echo again. I don't think
- 8:02Speaker 4: I need to watch.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Hawkeye was fun.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Hawkeye was fun. Yeah.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Yeah, that new wonder Man show that's coming out, what's
- 8:15Speaker 2: that The new Wonderman show that's coming out looks pretty fun.
- 8:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm only barely aware that there's a wonder Man
- 8:22Speaker 1: in the comics. Yeah, like, I know there's a wonder Man.
- 8:25Speaker 1: I know he's Mark Marvel, right right, Okay.
- 8:29Speaker 4: I haven't seen the previous for it. My my Disney
- 8:34Speaker 4: Plus password isn't working anymore, and I'm gonna have to
- 8:38Speaker 4: look into Oh the problem.
- 8:40Speaker 2: It's the same guy that played Black Manta in uh
- 8:43Speaker 2: I gotcha in the Aquaman.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Yeah, there's gonna be a scene now, like in the
- 8:51Speaker 1: background where like you're gonna see a dart like hit
- 8:54Speaker 1: my neck and then the the computer is gonna like
- 8:58Speaker 1: go like shake over here, and you're gonna see it's
- 9:00Speaker 1: just these ears just dropped down from the window.
- 9:06Speaker 4: Is gonna take you out of line?
- 9:07Speaker 2: Yeah, just not mickey laughing.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Then the shot.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Yes, oh boy, yeah, yeah.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Nothing like yourself on the live Internet.
- 9:28Speaker 4: All right.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Well, let's let's get to the Star Trek News before
- 9:31Speaker 2: we admit to more crimes online.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Star Trek News.
- 9:39Speaker 2: All right, So our first news story I thought we
- 9:43Speaker 2: would start with this. The Rotten Tomato scores have come
- 9:46Speaker 2: out for Starfleet Academy, and being that debuts this week,
- 9:51Speaker 2: I figured we'd talk a little bit about that, So
- 9:55Speaker 2: here it is. Right now, Starfield Academy is sitting at
- 9:58Speaker 2: an eighty four percent on Rotten Tomatoes, which is a
- 10:02Speaker 2: very high score. There are some articles out there saying
- 10:06Speaker 2: that it debuted with one hundred percent, which is true.
- 10:10Speaker 2: But if you don't know how Rotten Tomatoes works, it
- 10:15Speaker 2: basically just it's it's binary. It's either was it good
- 10:19Speaker 2: was it bad. So when something gets a high percentage
- 10:23Speaker 2: like this, you really need to read the reviews because
- 10:27Speaker 2: it will just say if the review was overall positive, great,
- 10:32Speaker 2: it's it's one. If the review was even just slightly positive, great,
- 10:36Speaker 2: it's it's you know, it counts as as good. It
- 10:39Speaker 2: doesn't differentiate between the differences. So but the reviews are there,
- 10:48Speaker 2: and overall they are positive. People are saying that, you know,
- 10:52Speaker 2: it's different than any other form of Star Trek we've
- 10:56Speaker 2: had before. It's definitely geared more towards teens. But it
- 11:00Speaker 2: you know, it comes out this Thursday, so we'll see.
- 11:04Speaker 3: We'll do our predictions a little bit later in the show.
- 11:06Speaker 1: But I'm co optimistic.
- 11:09Speaker 3: I'm hoping. I want it to be good. I want
- 11:12Speaker 3: it to be good.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Oh yeah, any any Star Trek fan wants it to
- 11:15Speaker 1: be good.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, so, but what do you guys think
- 11:20Speaker 2: of the high score? The eighty four percent?
- 11:22Speaker 3: Right now?
- 11:23Speaker 1: It's promising.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Yeah, so I feel like Dan is like biting his
- 11:27Speaker 3: tongue right now.
- 11:29Speaker 4: Who is this? This is people that were given advanced
- 11:31Speaker 4: screen So these are.
- 11:33Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, right.
- 11:35Speaker 1: I know that in New York they had a was
- 11:40Speaker 1: it New York or someplace they had yeah, yeah, friend
- 11:44Speaker 1: of the show, the Katie the weather Girl, she went
- 11:49Speaker 1: and she saw an advanced screening of the first two
- 11:51Speaker 1: episodes and she said they were great. So, you know, hopefully.
- 11:57Speaker 3: Hopefully, yeah, hopefully hopefully.
- 12:00Speaker 1: I've kind of lost when it comes to here's the show.
- 12:02Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 12:04Speaker 4: We have gotten a couple of times in the past.
- 12:10Speaker 4: We're not the same as an advanced screen, but we
- 12:13Speaker 4: have had products sent to us, yes, to review on
- 12:18Speaker 4: the show. Yeah right right, Okay, so one thing we
- 12:22Speaker 4: did not do is say this is total garbage, because
- 12:27Speaker 4: we want them to send us stuff right in the future. Okay,
- 12:32Speaker 4: And I think a similar phenomenon occurs when you are
- 12:37Speaker 4: given these advances. If you're given an advanced screen you're
- 12:42Speaker 4: not and it's a total turd. You're not going to
- 12:44Speaker 4: say that because you're not going to get invited to
- 12:47Speaker 4: the next screening.
- 12:48Speaker 1: So there's a built in bias there is that.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yeah, that is a real phenomenon that you
- 12:55Speaker 2: were talking about. Yes, And there is also the thing
- 12:58Speaker 2: where they will send the screeners out to people that
- 13:03Speaker 2: they are more favorable to what's going on, which is
- 13:07Speaker 2: that's not just a Star Trek thing. That is a
- 13:09Speaker 2: media tactic, you know. That is the idea is you
- 13:14Speaker 2: want to make it seem like it's better than it
- 13:17Speaker 2: is before debuts. Films do this, you know, It's just
- 13:23Speaker 2: it's part of the nature of the beast. Speaking of
- 13:27Speaker 2: the nature of the beast. Our next story comes to
- 13:30Speaker 2: us from trekmovie dot com And at that big event
- 13:34Speaker 2: that you were talking about there, Scott, they got to
- 13:37Speaker 2: talk to Alex Kurtzman and he was talking about his
- 13:41Speaker 2: future on Star Trek and he says, quote, I'm hopeful.
- 13:45Speaker 2: So in the interview he talked a little bit about,
- 13:49Speaker 2: you know, what the plans are for the future. He
- 13:51Speaker 2: says he has mentioned before that he has not had
- 13:56Speaker 2: conversations with Paramount yet. His contract is up at the
- 13:59Speaker 2: end of this year, at the end of twenty twenty six.
- 14:03Speaker 2: But god, but there's been no renewal talks yet. But
- 14:10Speaker 2: he does say he is hopeful. He does go on
- 14:14Speaker 2: to mention that he says something about he can't say
- 14:17Speaker 2: anything publicly, but he believes things are promising for him.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Good. I hope he gets hired to go try to
- 14:25Speaker 1: ruin another franchise.
- 14:30Speaker 2: He did also say that he showed so recently. I
- 14:33Speaker 2: don't know if you guys remember we did a story
- 14:35Speaker 2: about this, but Paramount hired a guy named I think
- 14:41Speaker 2: it's Chris Parnell. Yeah, Chris Parnell to be their EVP
- 14:45Speaker 2: of Original Programming for Paramount.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Plus he used to work at EVP. He used to
- 14:51Speaker 3: be the.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Same position at Apple TV. He was also the guy
- 14:58Speaker 2: behind for All Mankind, which was made by Ron Moore,
- 15:02Speaker 2: the star trek Alum. But apparently Chris Barnauld did get
- 15:07Speaker 2: to watch a Starfleet Academy and really enjoyed it. So
- 15:14Speaker 2: this guy, Chris has been has been seen as a
- 15:17Speaker 2: you know, a strong voice and sci fi so hopefully
- 15:22Speaker 2: that's good. Yeah, I want to believe, man, I want
- 15:27Speaker 2: to believe.
- 15:30Speaker 4: You know who they should hire?
- 15:31Speaker 3: Who's that.
- 15:34Speaker 4: Rick Berman? Oh it's been it's been twenty one years
- 15:39Speaker 4: at this Yeah. They should open up the books and
- 15:43Speaker 4: take a look and say when was this franchise most profitable? Hey,
- 15:48Speaker 4: it was most profitable between nineteen eight They'll see the
- 15:52Speaker 4: bell curve between nineteen eighty seven and two thousand and five.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:56Speaker 4: Oh who was running the show during that? This guy
- 16:00Speaker 4: Burman and Brannon Braga. Well what are they doing? Oh
- 16:03Speaker 4: they're still here in Hollywood. Well, yeah, let's see if
- 16:06Speaker 4: they'd like to circle back, yeah, and do the next
- 16:09Speaker 4: generation or whatever. I mean, this this sort of thing
- 16:13Speaker 4: happens in Hollywood all the time. You have these directors
- 16:18Speaker 4: who do the sequel to their movie from twenty something
- 16:22Speaker 4: years ago, because you know there things are cyclical and
- 16:27Speaker 4: midlife crisis and I want to feel young again and whatever,
- 16:31Speaker 4: or I want to finish what I started or a
- 16:33Speaker 4: fresh take on whatever. It's been twenty one years at
- 16:38Speaker 4: this point.
- 16:39Speaker 1: You know, I was thinking too, bringing bringing some older
- 16:43Speaker 1: directors from the TNG era. You know, I'm thinking people
- 16:48Speaker 1: like Robert Duncan McNeil. You know, he's he transitioned from
- 16:52Speaker 1: acting to directing. You know, your boy Robbie, Yeah, my
- 16:55Speaker 1: boy Robbie. You know, bring in bringing Robbie. You know,
- 16:58Speaker 1: he does stuff like Resident Alien did Chuck. He he
- 17:01Speaker 1: directed a couple of really good episodes of Voyager. You know,
- 17:05Speaker 1: he knows the franchise just not. I want to say,
- 17:09Speaker 1: to bring in a fresh perspective, to bring in an
- 17:11Speaker 1: old fresh perspective. You know, people that used to be
- 17:16Speaker 1: in this that you know, have have not been in
- 17:19Speaker 1: it for a while, but like it's still near and
- 17:20Speaker 1: dear to their hearts. You know. He still does a
- 17:23Speaker 1: podcast with my boy Garrett, you know, and that's a
- 17:25Speaker 1: weekly thing. So they they they still love the franchise,
- 17:29Speaker 1: but they're a little bit removed from it, you know,
- 17:32Speaker 1: So it'd be an old fresh perspective. I think that'd
- 17:34Speaker 1: be good. Let Terry Mettallis takeover. Give give Jonathan Frakes, like,
- 17:40Speaker 1: you know, some sort of executive producer kind of thing.
- 17:44Speaker 1: But my god, get Kurtzman out of here. I'm so
- 17:47Speaker 1: sick of him. I can't stand him.
- 17:50Speaker 2: I would want to see I know he's eighty three
- 17:53Speaker 2: years old, but I would want to see Werner Herzog
- 17:57Speaker 2: take over Surgeric.
- 17:59Speaker 3: I don't know if you guys know who he is.
- 18:02Speaker 3: He's a crazy ass filmmaker.
- 18:05Speaker 2: There is literally a documentary about one of his movies
- 18:08Speaker 2: because he wanted to get a ship up a hill
- 18:11Speaker 2: for a shot and instead of just like fabricating it
- 18:14Speaker 2: and pretending, he was adamant that they get the real
- 18:17Speaker 2: ship up the hill and it took a month to
- 18:19Speaker 2: do it, and it's just a log documentary Okay, yeah.
- 18:25Speaker 4: Yeah, he's just did it end up on the cutting
- 18:28Speaker 4: room floor after all that.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Eventually the movie came out, but it took years. This
- 18:34Speaker 2: guy's just crazy.
- 18:36Speaker 4: Stories like that. Yeah, seven days to do this shot
- 18:39Speaker 4: then and then they cut it.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:43Speaker 3: He was also in The Mandalorian. He's the one who
- 18:45Speaker 3: wanted to see the baby in the first couple episodes. Yeah,
- 18:50Speaker 3: he's got that really unique voice.
- 18:52Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, run star d.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Just let it. Sure, sure, you know, I would take
- 18:57Speaker 1: somebody I don't know over Alex Kurtzman.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Werner would demand that they go shoot on actual different planets.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Oh maybe that's fine, Okay, yeah, yeah, sure.
- 19:11Speaker 4: It's great. All right.
- 19:13Speaker 3: So then our last news story comes to us.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Also from trekmovie dot com, and we are getting an
- 19:18Speaker 2: update from Tony Newsom herself about her workplace comedy show.
- 19:26Speaker 3: Yeah, so it's cool.
- 19:29Speaker 2: She did say that she has had conversations a writer
- 19:32Speaker 2: around Christmas and that they turned in all the scripts
- 19:34Speaker 2: for the first season. So now they're just waiting to
- 19:37Speaker 2: hear back. So that's cool.
- 19:41Speaker 3: No word yet.
- 19:42Speaker 2: On on Yeah, I'm getting ads pop up ads welcome.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Yeah. I love Toddy Newsome. I think she's she's funny,
- 19:49Speaker 1: she's adorable, I think whatever. Yeah, you know, she's.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Also a writer on a she's also a writer.
- 19:58Speaker 4: Yeah. Did in DC do this like five or ten
- 20:00Speaker 4: years ago, didn't they have a show that was supposed
- 20:02Speaker 4: to be like a comedy set in the DC universe,
- 20:04Speaker 4: like oh yeah, and it was like an insurance company
- 20:07Speaker 4: or something.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah they worked like behind this. Yeah, it
- 20:12Speaker 1: was like an insurance company that had to deal with
- 20:13Speaker 1: all the aftermath and all the big battles. Yeah yeah
- 20:16Speaker 1: or something.
- 20:17Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah that was Do you remember that show?
- 20:20Speaker 1: You know?
- 20:21Speaker 4: Yeah, this would be great.
- 20:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Well, and I remember originally it was like gonna be
- 20:26Speaker 2: like some sort of resort planet, like like a Riza.
- 20:31Speaker 3: So I don't.
- 20:32Speaker 2: I don't know if the it's evolved or the workplace
- 20:35Speaker 2: is the planet.
- 20:37Speaker 3: We don't know much about this.
- 20:39Speaker 1: So I mean, for every Warner Brothers show that you
- 20:42Speaker 1: you're just talking about that we can't think of the
- 20:43Speaker 1: name of because nobody remembers it because it probably wasn't
- 20:45Speaker 1: all that good. There's also an office out there, so
- 20:48Speaker 1: you know, this could be this could be the workplace
- 20:51Speaker 1: comedy nobody remembers, or it could be another office. It
- 20:54Speaker 1: just depends on how it hits, how it lands. Yeah,
- 20:56Speaker 1: you got good writers, you got good staff, you got
- 20:59Speaker 1: good actors. You know, when it comes together, you know,
- 21:03Speaker 1: and then we have another parks and rec or otherwise
- 21:05Speaker 1: we got nothing.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Yeah, and she was a writer on Starfleet Academy. She's
- 21:10Speaker 2: also got a producer credit.
- 21:12Speaker 1: So.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Who knows.
- 21:16Speaker 2: But that's all the news stories for today. Okay, Yeah,
- 21:23Speaker 2: well we should probably get to the main topics because
- 21:25Speaker 2: we got a couple of them.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Do it.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Yeah, looks good?
- 21:29Speaker 6: Fun will now commit?
- 21:36Speaker 3: All right, So what do you guys want to do?
- 21:38Speaker 4: First?
- 21:38Speaker 3: Do you want to do the awards or do you.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Want to do the awards? And then we'll do okay, okay,
- 21:43Speaker 1: all right, we will do the awards first.
- 21:46Speaker 2: So we got a lot a lot of responses. Like
- 21:53Speaker 2: Scott said, you know, all the voting was fair. This
- 21:56Speaker 2: is just how it is.
- 21:58Speaker 3: We hope you people enjoy it. But the results are.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Yes, pac Man won everything. There were definitely there were
- 22:07Speaker 2: definitely some big swings. This may be the biggest margin
- 22:12Speaker 2: of victory for our winners maybe. Ever, like it was
- 22:16Speaker 2: pretty blown out of the water. So we'll go one
- 22:19Speaker 2: at a time through them. We'll start from the bottom,
- 22:22Speaker 2: we'll work our way up to the top. The first
- 22:25Speaker 2: is Most Anticipated Star Trek Game. The nominees were Star
- 22:30Speaker 2: Trek Infection, Star Trek Voyager, Across the Unknown, and then
- 22:34Speaker 2: the upcoming Magic the Gathering Star Trek Crossover, and with
- 22:39Speaker 2: sixty nine of the voting, Star Trek and Magic the
- 22:44Speaker 2: Gathering are the most anticipated game for this year.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Wow. Okay, I didn't see that coming. But all right,
- 22:52Speaker 1: I guess we have some magic fans out there.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Hey, man, I love magic, so I'm pretty stoked about
- 22:58Speaker 3: that one.
- 22:59Speaker 1: So Okay, I'm not a huge magic person, but I
- 23:02Speaker 1: have some friends that are and I can imagine that
- 23:05Speaker 1: you know, I might build a deck.
- 23:08Speaker 2: No, yeah, for sure. So again, as you see, I
- 23:14Speaker 2: told people to vote, so just know these are the
- 23:17Speaker 2: this is who wins most Anticipated Potential Star Trek Project.
- 23:22Speaker 2: The nominees were Tawny Newsom's Workplace Comedy, The Jonathan Archer
- 23:27Speaker 2: Political thriller Show, and The Reboot Movie, and with sixty
- 23:32Speaker 2: three percent of the vote, Tawny Newsom's Workplace Comedy is
- 23:36Speaker 2: the most anticipated.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Okay, not surprising, not surprising.
- 23:42Speaker 4: Our next, yeah, how many have I'm just curious.
- 23:47Speaker 3: We had one hundred responses.
- 23:50Speaker 4: Exactly, wow, exactly.
- 23:53Speaker 3: Easy, yeah, yeah, exactly all right. Yeah.
- 23:58Speaker 2: Next to is Best Trek Trek Book. So this is
- 24:01Speaker 2: all the books that came out last year twenty twenty five.
- 24:07Speaker 2: We had Star Trek Strange, New Worlds, Toward the Night
- 24:10Speaker 2: by James Swallow, Star Trek Strange New Worlds, Ring of
- 24:15Speaker 2: Fire by David Mack, and Star Trek Identity Thief by
- 24:20Speaker 2: Greg Cox and with seventy percent of the vote, Star
- 24:24Speaker 2: Trek Strange, New Worlds, Ring of Fire by David Mack.
- 24:28Speaker 1: Okay, I'm familiar with David Mack. He's a good he's
- 24:32Speaker 1: a good author. I have read several of his books.
- 24:35Speaker 1: I didn't know much. I honestly didn't know much about
- 24:38Speaker 1: any of these books. I haven't read any of them, so.
- 24:41Speaker 3: I didn't read any of them. I just voted for fire.
- 24:44Speaker 1: I voted for Identity Theft just because it was the
- 24:46Speaker 1: only one that wasn't Strange New World.
- 24:49Speaker 3: Yeah, it is.
- 24:50Speaker 2: It is hard when somebody steals your idea. So right,
- 24:53Speaker 2: that would be a great book. Yes, all right, best rant.
- 24:59Speaker 2: We only had two nomic Dan on Star Trek a
- 25:02Speaker 2: cat or a Starfleet Academy and Scott on Alex Kurtzman.
- 25:07Speaker 2: And the winner with seventy seventy three percent of the votes.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Scott on his rent with Alex Kurtzman.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Thank you, Thank you. I would like to like to
- 25:16Speaker 1: thank the Academy. Yeah, yep, I'd like to thank you,
- 25:22Speaker 1: okay most of all. Yeah, yeah, I'd like to thank
- 25:26Speaker 1: thank my wife, Desiree, for supporting me apparently many many times.
- 25:32Speaker 3: Hey, what about your mom? She watches.
- 25:36Speaker 1: I don't think she voted.
- 25:37Speaker 2: I don't think she Okay, all right, all right, next category,
- 25:42Speaker 2: most anticipated trick. So the trick that is coming out
- 25:46Speaker 2: this year. We've got Strange Into a World season four,
- 25:49Speaker 2: Starfleet Academy and Scouts season two, and with fifty nine
- 25:54Speaker 2: percent of the votes. The most anticipated star Trek is
- 25:58Speaker 2: Starfleet Academy.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Yeah that doesn't surprise me either.
- 26:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it is the one that's up right,
- 26:07Speaker 2: it's the it's the one people are talking about.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Right, and it's it's the newest thing. And and since
- 26:12Speaker 1: you know, there was a slow decline in Stranging Worlds.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Not that Stranging Worlds was bad, but the third season
- 26:18Speaker 1: was okay, okay, you know, so so people are not
- 26:23Speaker 1: I don't know if people are really anticipating in season
- 26:25Speaker 1: four being much that that much better. And I think
- 26:28Speaker 1: that's why Academy, you know, because it's brand new and
- 26:33Speaker 1: we really don't know what you expect.
- 26:34Speaker 3: And so it's anticipated. So there you go. It is
- 26:38Speaker 3: all right.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Next category, Best performance of a classic character by a
- 26:44Speaker 2: new actor. We got a lot of nominees. It's all
- 26:49Speaker 2: it's like your Ants and Mounts or Ethan Beeck's You're
- 26:53Speaker 2: Jess Bush, all those people that are playing classic characters
- 26:56Speaker 2: that we've seen before but are now giving new takes
- 26:59Speaker 2: on it. And with sixty nine percent of the votes,
- 27:03Speaker 2: just dwarfing everybody. Martin Quinn for Scotty on Strange New Worlds.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, I have to say something This was
- 27:12Speaker 1: the one that I took the most serious. This is
- 27:14Speaker 1: the question I took the most serious because I, you know,
- 27:17Speaker 1: all the rest of them, you know, are pretty standard
- 27:19Speaker 1: fare for what we kind of usually do. Yeah, And
- 27:22Speaker 1: I think that there was a clear standout in this category.
- 27:26Speaker 1: I thought that Martin Quinn did a fantastic job. I
- 27:31Speaker 1: love hit his interpretation of Scotty. He's actually Scottish, you know,
- 27:36Speaker 1: so I just yeah, I just overall, I just think
- 27:40Speaker 1: he did a fantastic job.
- 27:42Speaker 2: Big fan, Yeah, I think he did great. All right,
- 27:46Speaker 2: best Trek Cast Beard. We had Scott Strongbeard, Botters, Dan,
- 27:52Speaker 2: and all In said was Dan, and then Chad's Basement
- 27:56Speaker 2: Beard and with seventy two vote, Scott Strongbeards Aboutters.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Wow, this is so unexpected.
- 28:06Speaker 3: Indeed, who would have seen what's coming?
- 28:09Speaker 1: Again, I would like to thank all the Trek Cast
- 28:12Speaker 1: fans out there. This would not have been possible without you.
- 28:16Speaker 1: I am very humbled by this, by this generous award.
- 28:20Speaker 1: Thank you very much. I'd like to thank my wife,
- 28:23Speaker 1: who supported me again many many times. Thank you very much.
- 28:27Speaker 4: I would like to thank you Billy Mays.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Yeah, all those people.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Yes, all right, Next category, Most rewatchable series. Now, this
- 28:44Speaker 2: is of all the series, of all the movies, just
- 28:46Speaker 2: the most rewatchable thing. A lot of different votes came
- 28:51Speaker 2: in the top three were Star Trek TNG Next Generation,
- 28:57Speaker 2: followed by d S nine, but with fifty seven percent
- 29:02Speaker 2: of the votes, far out weighing everyone else. Star Trek
- 29:06Speaker 2: Voyager is the most rewatchable really.
- 29:09Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, that's surprising.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Okay, you know, yeah, I didn't vote for this, but
- 29:16Speaker 1: I am rewatching Voyager right now.
- 29:18Speaker 3: Okay, okay, so right, well, you know I'm not mad
- 29:22Speaker 3: at this.
- 29:24Speaker 2: When Netflix did their their rankings, you know, a few
- 29:26Speaker 2: years ago, like I don't know, ten years ago, now,
- 29:29Speaker 2: Voyager was like the most rewatched Star Trek series.
- 29:34Speaker 4: Yeah, so wondering if that is because of Jane Way.
- 29:39Speaker 4: I'm wondering if that is because the number of women
- 29:44Speaker 4: who tuned in to see her, oh yeah, vastly outweighs
- 29:48Speaker 4: the number of men who may have tuned out, thinking no,
- 29:51Speaker 4: that's not my thing. I don't want to watch a
- 29:52Speaker 4: woman captain.
- 29:55Speaker 3: I mean maybe also at that.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Time, I think that might have been the case back
- 30:00Speaker 1: ninety five when it first premiered. I don't know if
- 30:02Speaker 1: that's the case now.
- 30:03Speaker 3: But like now they're giving it a chance.
- 30:04Speaker 4: I mean that it's the case now. Yeah, it's the
- 30:06Speaker 4: case in nineteen ninety five, and because of it, those
- 30:09Speaker 4: are the people that grew up watching it. Those are
- 30:12Speaker 4: the people that have fond memories of it now, and
- 30:15Speaker 4: those are the people that are rewatching it now, making
- 30:17Speaker 4: it the most. Yeah, and maybe some of those men
- 30:21Speaker 4: from back then have matured a bit and are only
- 30:25Speaker 4: now going back and watching the show.
- 30:28Speaker 1: Well not if you're a captain in the original series era.
- 30:31Speaker 1: If your captain in the original series area might say
- 30:33Speaker 1: something like I'll just never get used to a woman
- 30:35Speaker 1: on the bridge.
- 30:37Speaker 3: I mean, your theory might be right, Dan.
- 30:40Speaker 2: I also think too, like you know, you had tng
- 30:43Speaker 2: you had DS nine, and then by the time Voyager hit,
- 30:46Speaker 2: it was already starting to lose popularity. So when people
- 30:49Speaker 2: go back to watch it, Voyager is the last thing
- 30:52Speaker 2: they probably left off on, so they're trying.
- 30:55Speaker 3: To catch up.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Maybe it's a little bit of everything, who knows, but yeah,
- 31:01Speaker 2: Voyager was most rewatchable.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Well, it's the newest of the TNNG era, right, and
- 31:07Speaker 1: timeline shows. You know, I consider Enterprise TNG era just
- 31:11Speaker 1: because they're all kind of clumped together as far as
- 31:15Speaker 1: air date wise, you know, yeah, Era Burman era, sure, yeah, sure,
- 31:22Speaker 1: all right.
- 31:23Speaker 2: Next category, Best Trek streaming Service. We had two nominees
- 31:28Speaker 2: for this one, either Netflix or Paramounts, and the winner with.
- 31:34Speaker 3: Netflix.
- 31:36Speaker 1: That's hilarious because you can't watch Star Trek Netflix right now.
- 31:40Speaker 4: I know this is like, you know, best comic company
- 31:44Speaker 4: that puts out Superman comics and.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Marvel win right, yeah, Well, and then it's it's not
- 31:50Speaker 1: you know, obviously this is not a you know, we
- 31:54Speaker 1: love Netflix, this is a this was a vote to
- 31:56Speaker 1: hate on Paramount.
- 31:58Speaker 4: Well, is there still that situation where internationally you can't
- 32:02Speaker 4: watch these shows on Paramount Plus it's it's on Netflix.
- 32:06Speaker 1: That could be. But how many international fans of ours
- 32:09Speaker 1: voted in this? I don't think there's any way to tell.
- 32:12Speaker 1: But yeah, it doesn't for overseas. If you're not from
- 32:15Speaker 1: the United States, chime in somewhere, either in the chat
- 32:18Speaker 1: or on our on our Facebook or the comments. Yeah
- 32:22Speaker 1: in the comics, let us know you were overseas and
- 32:24Speaker 1: you voted in the in the poll.
- 32:27Speaker 3: Yeah, all right.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Next question, most rewatchable movie. So, of all the movies,
- 32:35Speaker 2: which is the most rewatchable.
- 32:38Speaker 1: I can't tell if that's late greener. Yeah.
- 32:41Speaker 2: So the top three were, let's see, the Undiscovered Country
- 32:47Speaker 2: was number three, Love It number two Ratha con sure,
- 32:51Speaker 2: but with sixty seven percent of the votes. The number
- 32:55Speaker 2: one most rewatchable movie Star Trek four, the Voyage Home,
- 32:58Speaker 2: the one with the whales.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Ah okay, yeah, people love it, man, Yeah, yeah, we
- 33:06Speaker 1: love it well. And I think it's it's the most
- 33:08Speaker 1: favored of Star Trek film, of non Star Trek fans,
- 33:13Speaker 1: non traditional Trekies. Yeah, you know, of a casual fan
- 33:16Speaker 1: or somebody who's never really paid attention to Star Trek.
- 33:19Speaker 1: This is everyone's favorite.
- 33:21Speaker 4: Yeah, it's the it's quote the one with the whales,
- 33:23Speaker 4: or quote the funny one.
- 33:25Speaker 2: You know, I just put the connection together in my head.
- 33:28Speaker 2: One of the things they're saying about Starfleet Academy is
- 33:31Speaker 2: that it's goofy, it's funny. I bet you they get
- 33:34Speaker 2: metrics like this, and that's why they lean towards that.
- 33:39Speaker 1: You think they're gonna do you think they're also trying
- 33:41Speaker 1: to go for non traditional Star Trek fans. Oh?
- 33:43Speaker 3: Absolutely, okay, Yeah, that's it's the mythical.
- 33:47Speaker 2: Get the casuals, all right, next category, final category Best
- 33:55Speaker 2: Trek in twenty twenty five, and the nominees were strange.
- 33:59Speaker 2: In a world Section thirty one con and of course
- 34:03Speaker 2: the greatest Star Trek series of all Star Trek scouts.
- 34:07Speaker 3: So yeah, you kidding me?
- 34:11Speaker 2: With fifty five percent of the vote Section thirty one
- 34:15Speaker 2: to one, Oh.
- 34:19Speaker 3: We've lost, Scott.
- 34:23Speaker 4: I don't know if this is people trolling, oh they
- 34:26Speaker 4: see they be trolling, or if this is people making
- 34:29Speaker 4: a statement that the state of Star Trek is so
- 34:35Speaker 4: poor right now that this turn is the best thing
- 34:39Speaker 4: they put out this year. I don't know.
- 34:41Speaker 1: I guess what.
- 34:43Speaker 2: Yeah, but Section thirty one voted the best Star Trek
- 34:47Speaker 2: show in twenty twenty five. Uh, surprising results to say
- 34:52Speaker 2: the least. I feel it's trollan, I feel it's Internet trolling.
- 34:57Speaker 1: Yeah. Uh, I blame Mike Medina, friend of the show,
- 35:03Speaker 1: Mike Medina. We always see him on the Facebook group.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Wild Bolt throughout the whole thing. I think Wild Build's
- 35:11Speaker 2: going to storm Starfleet with you, Scott.
- 35:13Speaker 7: Ah.
- 35:15Speaker 3: So that is the award surprisingly enough.
- 35:18Speaker 4: Wow wow.
- 35:21Speaker 3: So when we do this again at the end of
- 35:22Speaker 3: the year, uh, people need to vote.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Well yeah, and you know I was thinking about this,
- 35:29Speaker 1: I'm going to try to keep track of certain like
- 35:33Speaker 1: rants and things like that throughout the year and just
- 35:35Speaker 1: sort of write them down what episode it was, so
- 35:37Speaker 1: we do sort of go back to them, because because
- 35:39Speaker 1: we had some doozies, like I remember a couple of
- 35:42Speaker 1: them where Dan went off on a really great tangent
- 35:46Speaker 1: and I couldn't remember the episode or where it was,
- 35:50Speaker 1: but you know, and I think that should be uh,
- 35:55Speaker 1: we should, you know, kind of keep track of that.
- 35:57Speaker 1: So oh, for sure, for sure, Desiree, I don't know
- 36:01Speaker 1: who this user is. Desiree Boucher's nine to eight nine
- 36:04Speaker 1: seven says someone may be trolling with a hmm emoji,
- 36:11Speaker 1: so there might be some controversy going on.
- 36:15Speaker 3: That's like voting for Pedro all your wildest dreams will
- 36:21Speaker 3: come true.
- 36:22Speaker 1: Oh that's funny because that's that's a Napoleon Dynamite reference, right, Yes, yes, okay, yeah.
- 36:29Speaker 1: My my son, my my fourteen year old just watched
- 36:33Speaker 1: that movie for the first time in class. Oh wow, yeah,
- 36:37Speaker 1: and he he just came home and he's like, we
- 36:38Speaker 1: watched Napoleon Dynamite. I'm like, what'd you think. He's like,
- 36:41Speaker 1: it was kind of dumb. I'm like, yeah, that's kind
- 36:44Speaker 1: of the point. Yeah, like, what was the plot? You know,
- 36:47Speaker 1: what was the plot? There wasn't one.
- 36:51Speaker 3: Yeah, there wasn't one at all.
- 36:53Speaker 4: I watched it once twenty years ago or whenever it
- 36:55Speaker 4: came out. I didn't.
- 36:56Speaker 1: Yeah, you wouldn't get it now if you rewatched it. Yeah,
- 37:00Speaker 1: there's no plot. There's no antagonists, no protagonists, no, you know.
- 37:05Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, all right, So that's the awards. Those are
- 37:10Speaker 2: the results, you know. I'm glad we announced them. But
- 37:14Speaker 2: we have another main topic as well. So we went
- 37:18Speaker 2: from the past. Now we're gonna look towards the future
- 37:20Speaker 2: at Starfleet Academy and our predictions. So yeah, Dan is ready,
- 37:30Speaker 2: so let me get those up. All right, So I
- 37:34Speaker 2: have I came up with some predictions that we can
- 37:37Speaker 2: go on like we've done in years past. These are
- 37:39Speaker 2: either likely or unlikely responses, so we will have you
- 37:45Speaker 2: guys respond to that.
- 37:48Speaker 3: Yeah, oh shoot, I forgot the.
- 37:49Speaker 2: Magic a ball. Well I don't have it, so yeah,
- 37:54Speaker 2: all right. So the first one, instead of saying is
- 37:58Speaker 2: this gonna be good? Is this gonna be bad? I
- 38:00Speaker 2: thought we would go with a different barometer for us.
- 38:03Speaker 2: I thought we would go with, well, Dan, actually watch
- 38:06Speaker 2: every episode likely or unlikely.
- 38:09Speaker 1: There's so many facets to this question. I mean, indeed,
- 38:12Speaker 1: you know you could you could ask it another way.
- 38:14Speaker 1: How committed is Dan trek cast? Oh, that's another way
- 38:18Speaker 1: of asking it, you know, so if we if we
- 38:21Speaker 1: turn it around, there you know, is Dan committed to
- 38:23Speaker 1: trek Cast. I think he's likely committed to trek Cast.
- 38:30Speaker 4: Okay, just so you know, my contract was up at
- 38:34Speaker 4: the end of twenty twenty five.
- 38:36Speaker 3: There you go. Not, there you go.
- 38:38Speaker 4: It has benegotiating right, No, no, I'm here. I'm here
- 38:43Speaker 4: on a memoratum of agreement and extension of the conditions
- 38:48Speaker 4: of the expired contract.
- 38:50Speaker 1: This is you missed the union negotiations. Yeah, totally. So
- 38:55Speaker 1: you know, maybe you should show up for those.
- 38:56Speaker 3: So Dan, are you going to watch every episode? Likely
- 38:58Speaker 3: or unlikely?
- 39:01Speaker 1: Uh?
- 39:01Speaker 4: Is there a column for possibly?
- 39:05Speaker 3: I mean it's likely or unlikely.
- 39:09Speaker 1: I think it's likely.
- 39:11Speaker 4: I will likely watch every episode, but likely's not.
- 39:21Speaker 3: That's right, that's right.
- 39:27Speaker 4: If it's that awful out.
- 39:30Speaker 1: Well, yeah, but now you you want to win this game, uh,
- 39:34Speaker 1: at the end of the season, so you could you
- 39:36Speaker 1: just watch every episode just so you can win this particular.
- 39:39Speaker 1: Uh question, Yeah, so.
- 39:46Speaker 2: The question is will he watch every episode? The question
- 39:48Speaker 2: is not will he enjoy it? My guess is I'm
- 39:51Speaker 2: gonna go unlikely because I'm gonna predict. Maybe there's an illness,
- 39:57Speaker 2: maybe there's a situation where you can't make an episode.
- 40:00Speaker 4: Hold on point of order, yes, or it is the
- 40:04Speaker 4: question how likely is Dan to watch every episode between
- 40:10Speaker 4: the time that it drops and the next episode of
- 40:14Speaker 4: treck Cast? Or is it how likely is he to
- 40:16Speaker 4: watch every episode?
- 40:22Speaker 1: Oh? Okay, I thought it was inferred you to watch
- 40:24Speaker 1: every episode before the next episode of trek Cast, just.
- 40:27Speaker 3: In in the in the time within the episode in
- 40:31Speaker 3: the season. Yeah, well you watch.
- 40:32Speaker 1: Them all by the by the last episode of truck
- 40:35Speaker 1: Cast after the series season finale. I think it is
- 40:38Speaker 1: likely he will have watched every episode.
- 40:40Speaker 4: Okay, it is likely, but it's not a sure thing, right.
- 40:44Speaker 2: That's why I'm going on likely because I can see, Hey,
- 40:47Speaker 2: I'm sick, not gonna watch it, and uh, not gonna
- 40:51Speaker 2: be on the show.
- 40:52Speaker 3: Don't get around to it perfect The.
- 40:54Speaker 1: Floor accepts and acknowledges your your your caveat.
- 40:58Speaker 4: When you say sick, you mean the flu or do
- 41:00Speaker 4: you mean like emotionally.
- 41:04Speaker 3: You know, sometimes we need personal days. Sometimes we need
- 41:07Speaker 3: personal days.
- 41:09Speaker 1: We need a mental health day from me.
- 41:12Speaker 4: Yes. Yes, people at home are like, this guy really
- 41:18Speaker 4: doesn't want to watch the show.
- 41:23Speaker 1: I'm looking forward to. I'll tell you why later. I'll
- 41:27Speaker 1: tell you why later, all.
- 41:29Speaker 2: Right, Next one, they have a logical reason for the
- 41:32Speaker 2: female gem Hadar.
- 41:34Speaker 1: That's a tough one. That's a tough one because I
- 41:37Speaker 1: you know, they should obviously they should like explain it.
- 41:41Speaker 1: But then I can also see a future where all
- 41:44Speaker 1: three of us are going, Yeah, they never even explained it.
- 41:47Speaker 4: Right, We still don't know why Michael Burnham has a
- 41:50Speaker 4: dude's name.
- 41:51Speaker 1: Yeah, no idea.
- 41:55Speaker 2: Well, apparently that's from the show creator. He thought it
- 41:58Speaker 2: was interesting to have a guy his name.
- 42:00Speaker 1: For a girl.
- 42:01Speaker 4: So cool.
- 42:03Speaker 3: Yeah, that's it, all right.
- 42:04Speaker 2: So look, Vimo and gemin are logical reasons behind that
- 42:07Speaker 2: likely or unlikely?
- 42:09Speaker 4: Unlikely?
- 42:10Speaker 1: Okay, I'm I'm I'm going to base my answer on
- 42:21Speaker 1: on a concept from Superman, which is Hope. I'm basing
- 42:29Speaker 1: my answer on Hope, and I'm gonna say likely.
- 42:32Speaker 3: Okay, I am gonna go with unlikely.
- 42:36Speaker 2: But here's my thing. I think they will have a reason.
- 42:40Speaker 2: I don't think it'll be that logical. I don't think
- 42:45Speaker 2: it'll make sense if you if you analyze it, all.
- 42:50Speaker 4: Right, well, you know what, then then three months from
- 42:53Speaker 4: now we're gonna have to argue this.
- 42:55Speaker 3: That's that's why we do this, all right.
- 43:01Speaker 2: We got some viewers submitted ones because we put we
- 43:04Speaker 2: posted it in the Facebook group and in on the Instagram,
- 43:07Speaker 2: so we've got quite a few. Uh p RFG twelve
- 43:12Speaker 2: from Instagram says it's Dawson's Creek with pew pews.
- 43:17Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the prevailing opinion, and I agree with it,
- 43:20Speaker 1: So I say, yeah, I say likely likely, Yeah, I
- 43:24Speaker 1: say a lot of the A lot of the video
- 43:26Speaker 1: memes are gonna have the Dawson's Creek theme in the background.
- 43:30Speaker 3: Yeah you know. I I hear the Dawson's Creek or
- 43:33Speaker 3: Star Trek Dawson's Creek a lot. But I have seen.
- 43:35Speaker 3: My favorite one is days Daystrom Creek.
- 43:39Speaker 1: So Daystrem Creek. I like it.
- 43:41Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I saw Roxanne Dawson's Creek.
- 43:44Speaker 2: Oh nice, nice, all right, next one, Uh, there are
- 43:53Speaker 2: more than two characters we really enjoy.
- 43:58Speaker 3: Likely or unlikely.
- 44:01Speaker 1: I'm gonna say likely because uh, if I would say
- 44:07Speaker 1: unlikely if the doctor wasn't gonna be in there. I
- 44:08Speaker 1: think I'm gonna enjoy the doctor. Uh So, I think
- 44:11Speaker 1: I think that they are going to bring at least
- 44:14Speaker 1: one more character somewhere in there that I'm going to enjoy.
- 44:18Speaker 7: Uh.
- 44:18Speaker 1: I just saw a clip just before I got on,
- 44:23Speaker 1: and it was the doctor, our our, our good old friend,
- 44:27Speaker 1: the holographic doctor, giving inoculations to the new recruits.
- 44:32Speaker 4: What did you think I thought?
- 44:34Speaker 1: I yeah, I thought it was I thought it was cute. Uh,
- 44:38Speaker 1: you know, I thought it was cute. Okay, So I
- 44:43Speaker 1: mean and obviously the doctor is back, the Voyager doctor
- 44:46Speaker 1: he is, It's it's it's Robert Riccardo. You know, pick
- 44:51Speaker 1: picked him up, back up, out of mothballs and mothballs
- 44:55Speaker 1: and brought him in.
- 44:56Speaker 5: So the callback caretaker, yes, I did, Yeah, medical track
- 45:05Speaker 5: corder yep.
- 45:06Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 45:09Speaker 1: Yeah. I hope they do it right.
- 45:13Speaker 4: Yeah, I hope.
- 45:13Speaker 2: So I'm going likely that there's more than two characters
- 45:16Speaker 2: that we enjoy. So, I mean we I even with Discovery,
- 45:23Speaker 2: I liked uh Saru, I liked Booker.
- 45:26Speaker 1: So there was two right yeah?
- 45:29Speaker 3: Yeah, so there you go. Uh next one?
- 45:33Speaker 2: Anthony from Facebook they'll get desperate and we'll see the
- 45:36Speaker 2: return of the board.
- 45:38Speaker 4: Likely or unlikely not this season.
- 45:42Speaker 1: No, I think it's unlikely. God, I hope not.
- 45:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I I also agree with unlikely. I just I
- 45:53Speaker 2: don't see that happening season two.
- 45:55Speaker 3: Who knows.
- 45:55Speaker 2: The other thing too, is I don't think we've been
- 45:57Speaker 2: told is this gonna be an episodic show or is
- 46:02Speaker 2: this going to be a.
- 46:05Speaker 3: You know, it's a continuation week to week, right.
- 46:08Speaker 4: So point of order? Yes? If in uh episode three,
- 46:14Speaker 4: they sit down in the mess hall and a borg
- 46:17Speaker 4: drone walks by and she's like, Hi, I'm fifth of seven.
- 46:20Speaker 4: I just enrolled last week. Yeah, equal turn of the boar.
- 46:24Speaker 4: Or are you talking about as a villain?
- 46:26Speaker 1: She says, I think we're talking to storyline.
- 46:29Speaker 2: She walks bay and goes, I'm fourth of Scotch.
- 46:35Speaker 1: I have fit the Scotch. That's great.
- 46:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm at the new fraternity down the road.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, my fraternity name is half pint. I I
- 46:51Speaker 1: think if they might have a borg, but I think
- 46:53Speaker 1: in order for the the the question to be answered,
- 46:57Speaker 1: it has to be a borg storyline.
- 46:59Speaker 2: Z is. I know you like to do the AI,
- 47:01Speaker 2: we need fit of Scotchborg. That's so bad, the flat,
- 47:07Speaker 2: the Borg frat. Yeah, yeah, I don't think.
- 47:14Speaker 3: I don't think they're gonna bring that back.
- 47:18Speaker 2: Emil from Facebook says the Doctor related episodes will be
- 47:22Speaker 2: the best likely or unlikely likely.
- 47:29Speaker 1: Okay, that's just nostalgia speaking from me.
- 47:31Speaker 4: But yeah, I don't know if we're gonna get Doctor episodes.
- 47:37Speaker 3: That's what I was thinking. I don't think he'll be
- 47:39Speaker 3: the center.
- 47:40Speaker 4: No, I think he's a supporting character. Yeah, I don't
- 47:44Speaker 4: think we're gonna get Doctor episodes. I think we're gonna
- 47:47Speaker 4: get maybe some nuggets where he will fill in some blanks, yeah,
- 47:51Speaker 4: on what what happened to the people we know from
- 47:55Speaker 4: the other show. But I don't think there's gonna be
- 47:57Speaker 4: Doctor episodes, So I will say unlikely.
- 47:59Speaker 2: Yes here, I think he could be maybe a b
- 48:02Speaker 2: plot in episode, but I don't think he's going to
- 48:04Speaker 2: be the main star on any episode.
- 48:07Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, okay, that's fair.
- 48:10Speaker 3: Yeah, all right.
- 48:12Speaker 2: Rick from Facebook says Discovery will show up likely or unlikely.
- 48:19Speaker 1: I'm also going to take my cue from the coat
- 48:22Speaker 1: of arms of the House of l which whose symbol
- 48:26Speaker 1: means hope, and I wholeheartedly hope that Discovery does not
- 48:32Speaker 1: show up, So I'm gonna say unlikely.
- 48:34Speaker 4: Okay, so refresh my memory.
- 48:38Speaker 1: The Discovery was that show that came out in twenty
- 48:40Speaker 1: seventeen about.
- 48:42Speaker 4: Yeah, yes, I know the the last episode of Discovery
- 48:51Speaker 4: takes place. The last few scenes take place. There's a
- 48:55Speaker 4: little time john at the end of the last episode, right,
- 48:58Speaker 4: uh huh, yes, okay, Ah, how long was that time?
- 49:02Speaker 4: It was like a twenty year time jump.
- 49:04Speaker 1: Or something like that. And I think they got rid
- 49:06Speaker 1: of Discovery. Didn't Discovery become self aware in it?
- 49:10Speaker 4: Yeah, she's got an adult son at that point.
- 49:12Speaker 1: Yeah, right, right, okay, but the ship itself went off
- 49:15Speaker 1: into the sunset.
- 49:17Speaker 4: Does this show take place after the time jump at
- 49:21Speaker 4: the end of Discovery or does it take place between
- 49:23Speaker 4: the end of the story and the time jump.
- 49:25Speaker 1: I know because they just started up Starfleet Academy in
- 49:28Speaker 1: Discovery in the end of They were about to start
- 49:31Speaker 1: up Starfleet Academy again at the end of Discovery before
- 49:35Speaker 1: the time jump. Okay, I think correct me if I'm wrong.
- 49:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think they're gonna let something like their
- 49:43Speaker 2: own cannon get in their way.
- 49:46Speaker 3: They want to do it. If they want to do it,
- 49:48Speaker 3: they're gonna do.
- 49:49Speaker 1: It, and if Discovery shows up, I don't think it's
- 49:51Speaker 1: gonna be Old Burnham.
- 49:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I think just a ship. I'm gonna say likely that.
- 49:59Speaker 4: How However, if if Michael Burnham's on the view screen,
- 50:06Speaker 4: I'm going to count that as a Discovery shoots showed.
- 50:10Speaker 3: Up right, right right, I'm gonna also say likely.
- 50:15Speaker 2: I think even if it's just the ship, I think, yeah,
- 50:19Speaker 2: they will.
- 50:21Speaker 1: They're gone. What happened? Didn't something happen to the ship?
- 50:25Speaker 1: Anybody in the chat figure this out? For me? Something
- 50:28Speaker 1: happened to the ship, it became self aware and it
- 50:30Speaker 1: left or is gone. I don't think Discovery exists anymore.
- 50:33Speaker 3: Oh you know what I realized?
- 50:36Speaker 1: Yeah? Oh yeah, And I realized we've been.
- 50:40Speaker 2: Talking about Starfleet Academy and we have not played the
- 50:43Speaker 2: proper sound effect.
- 50:54Speaker 4: Yeah, what am I supposed to.
- 50:59Speaker 2: It's it's like Allen sound effects because it's a scary school.
- 51:03Speaker 3: Okay.
- 51:04Speaker 8: Uh.
- 51:05Speaker 2: Jordan does coffee on Instagram says they all graduate and
- 51:10Speaker 2: have long careers.
- 51:12Speaker 3: Likely or unlikely.
- 51:14Speaker 1: Well that's something we really won't be able to tell
- 51:15Speaker 1: until the end of the series.
- 51:17Speaker 3: Yeah, so I would have to say unlikely.
- 51:23Speaker 1: Because we don't, can we really? I mean, if we
- 51:25Speaker 1: were to rephrase the question two, does anybody die? I
- 51:30Speaker 1: think that's likely.
- 51:34Speaker 4: Okay, you want to rephrase two, do all the main
- 51:38Speaker 4: characters make it to the end of the season?
- 51:41Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, does anyone die?
- 51:45Speaker 1: We'll do that, okay, Okay, I think that's likely.
- 51:49Speaker 2: Okay, yes, okay, Yeah, I also agree.
- 51:56Speaker 4: Or their program will be decompiled. Yeah.
- 52:00Speaker 1: Uh, you know there's more than one. There's more than
- 52:02Speaker 1: one hologram.
- 52:04Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I know, because holograms go to school, but.
- 52:08Speaker 2: Rather well, and the counter argument I've seen is data
- 52:12Speaker 2: data with the Starfleet Academy.
- 52:15Speaker 4: Yeah, years ago.
- 52:17Speaker 1: Right, right, right, I know, I know, all right.
- 52:21Speaker 2: Next question already from Facebook says he hopes Becky Lynch
- 52:26Speaker 2: uses a wrestling move. She is the she is the
- 52:31Speaker 2: pro wrestler that has gotten a role on Starfleet Academy.
- 52:36Speaker 2: She's got the bob cut we saw in one of
- 52:38Speaker 2: the clips. So he's hoping at some point she uses
- 52:41Speaker 2: wrestling move likely or unlikely.
- 52:44Speaker 1: Likely, Yeah, she'll she'll get in a fight.
- 52:48Speaker 4: You guys know how much I love wrestling. I know.
- 52:51Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, I think you you don't hire a pro
- 52:56Speaker 2: wrestler and not have them do at least one wrestling move. Wow,
- 53:00Speaker 2: I just yeah, James from Facebook his is uh Ben
- 53:07Speaker 2: Cisco returns to corporeal existence.
- 53:13Speaker 1: It'd be so cool, which is why they're not going
- 53:15Speaker 1: to do it.
- 53:15Speaker 2: Unlikely, unlikely, unlikely, Okay, yeah, I just not that.
- 53:23Speaker 3: I don't think they would want to do the storyline.
- 53:25Speaker 2: I just I don't see them getting that.
- 53:29Speaker 3: Actor to return.
- 53:30Speaker 1: Avery Brooks is is yeah, he's a nutcase.
- 53:34Speaker 3: Yeah, so I I just don't see that.
- 53:38Speaker 2: And then our last one likely or unlikely, we watch
- 53:42Speaker 2: Interview season two.
- 53:46Speaker 1: Since we know it's coming out, I'm going to say
- 53:48Speaker 1: it's likely.
- 53:50Speaker 3: Okay, well, how.
- 53:55Speaker 1: But I thought we're not going to know this after
- 53:58Speaker 1: season two?
- 53:58Speaker 4: Okay.
- 53:59Speaker 2: My thought of putting this down was we watched like
- 54:03Speaker 2: two episodes of Prodigy and then decided, yeah, we're done
- 54:07Speaker 2: with this, and we never watched it again.
- 54:11Speaker 1: So maybe maybe it should be rephrased to we intend
- 54:13Speaker 1: to watch.
- 54:14Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, So okay, all right, so Scott says likely, Dan,
- 54:27Speaker 2: we intend to watch, Okay.
- 54:32Speaker 4: I think it's gonna be awful, and yeah, I'm gonna
- 54:36Speaker 4: have had enough.
- 54:38Speaker 1: Oh man, uh as you're union Steward, Dan, I think
- 54:42Speaker 1: you should say that you are going to continue watching
- 54:44Speaker 1: the show as as what is your union, Steward, Yeah, okay,
- 54:51Speaker 1: out of contract.
- 54:52Speaker 3: Man, I'm gonna go likely. I just think you know,
- 54:56Speaker 3: there's not a lot of trek Out anymore. So m hm.
- 55:00Speaker 3: And it's a pretty big.
- 55:01Speaker 1: Show, says this could be Dan's final season.
- 55:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I saw that. I saw that.
- 55:09Speaker 4: Uh, I watched I watched that clip. I watched that
- 55:13Speaker 4: clip that you.
- 55:14Speaker 3: Want one Scott was talking about.
- 55:17Speaker 4: Yeah, and it was so goofy, so goofy. And I
- 55:25Speaker 4: know these are kids, and I know these college aged kids,
- 55:31Speaker 4: but these are not college kids. These are cadets at
- 55:36Speaker 4: a military academy, not a military school, a military academy.
- 55:42Speaker 4: So you know, I I usually like to take star
- 55:45Speaker 4: trek and and and make it an allegory for contemporary times.
- 55:52Speaker 4: But you know, the only allegory for Starfleet Academy is
- 55:57Speaker 4: West Point.
- 55:58Speaker 1: Right.
- 55:59Speaker 4: What Point admits twelve hundred new students a year out
- 56:05Speaker 4: of four million graduating seniors in the United States. So
- 56:12Speaker 4: to say that it is ultra ultra ultra ultra selective
- 56:18Speaker 4: is an understatement, right, And this is one planet. Yeah,
- 56:24Speaker 4: so now this is the United Federation of Planets. This
- 56:27Speaker 4: is their west point where there's you know, forty million
- 56:32Speaker 4: graduating high school seniors each year. It's even that more selective.
- 56:39Speaker 4: So the idea that they're going to be goofy and
- 56:44Speaker 4: weird and it's just not realistic, it's not realistic. I
- 56:49Speaker 4: swallowed my combadge again, what is that?
- 57:00Speaker 1: Uh yeah, I get that. I yeah, yeah, you're you're right.
- 57:08Speaker 1: And I look I look back to like my my
- 57:10Speaker 1: time in the service when I when I joined, and
- 57:12Speaker 1: uh and going into basic training, an, you're right, it's
- 57:15Speaker 1: not the same and I'll going into basic training is
- 57:17Speaker 1: not it's not the same as like going to an
- 57:19Speaker 1: elite academy. But we had some pretty young, immature and
- 57:24Speaker 1: quite frankly just stupid young kids that you know, I
- 57:29Speaker 1: could see swallowing their own combatge. But uh yeah, it's
- 57:34Speaker 1: a it's an elite academy. But then again, this is
- 57:37Speaker 1: a I think there's I think their standards are kind
- 57:40Speaker 1: of low because this is I think this is the
- 57:42Speaker 1: first academy class you know that they're that they're trying. Now.
- 57:47Speaker 3: The thing I read is it's the first one since
- 57:49Speaker 3: the burn.
- 57:50Speaker 1: Right, yeah, right, So.
- 57:54Speaker 4: Okay, but even then, let's say let's say West Point
- 57:58Speaker 4: closed down for uh huh twenty years and then restarted. Yeah,
- 58:08Speaker 4: you're still not gonna get You're still not gonna get
- 58:10Speaker 4: the bottom of the barrel.
- 58:12Speaker 1: No, you're not. Yeah, you're not the combat swallowing type.
- 58:17Speaker 4: You know, eating eating equipment. That's just not what is that?
- 58:25Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, all right, Uh, we should probably get to
- 58:31Speaker 2: listener feedback because we got people waiting, So let's do that.
- 58:39Speaker 4: Listener feedback.
- 58:41Speaker 1: And I just want to remind everybody if you'd like
- 58:43Speaker 1: to join us on the show. Uh just uh he
- 58:47Speaker 1: daddy always says X up in the chat, literally just
- 58:49Speaker 1: typing an X, and he'll, uh, he'll put up a
- 58:52Speaker 1: link so you can join us on the show. And
- 58:54Speaker 1: then also, we've got some amazing people that participate in

- 59:25Speaker 1: So that's a lot of fun. Just call us up
- 59:26Speaker 1: and just you know, tell us anything. We'd like to
- 59:30Speaker 1: hear your opinion.
- 59:31Speaker 3: All right, So we got a couple of people waiting
- 59:34Speaker 3: on the line right now.
- 59:35Speaker 2: We're gonna go with one. We have not heard from
- 59:37Speaker 2: him quite a while, so here we go. Hipster Spock
- 59:40Speaker 2: is waiting.
- 59:40Speaker 3: On the line line.
- 59:48Speaker 1: Radio.
- 59:49Speaker 8: Can you hear me now?
- 59:51Speaker 3: We can now we can hear you, yes, okay, cool.
- 59:53Speaker 8: How are you guys doing.
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: Your speakers?
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: Speakers?
- 1:00:04Speaker 8: How about now?
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: Uh, we're still hearing, still hearing ourselves.
- 1:00:11Speaker 8: Okay, I'm on my phone. So how do I like.
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: What you want to say?
- 1:00:20Speaker 8: Okay?
- 1:00:20Speaker 9: So with with Voyager, I think it's because, uh Voyger,
- 1:00:25Speaker 9: if you remember, it was on the up N and
- 1:00:29Speaker 9: not too many people watch UPM back then, and so
- 1:00:33Speaker 9: uh I think all these rewatches they're just catching up
- 1:00:38Speaker 9: on like what happened, because yeah, those are the people
- 1:00:42Speaker 9: who didn't catch Voyager the first time around. So uh
- 1:00:46Speaker 9: they probably went back and watched it and say, hey,
- 1:00:49Speaker 9: this ain't too bad, so uh they decide to rewatch it.
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: What do you think that's very that's very possible.
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't think you.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: Market okay, okay, sorry sorry, yeah, okay.
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, oh that's good.
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I think I think his his theory is sound.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: It's it's a good possible reason.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: I don't know if you heard I said UPM was
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: not available in all markets.
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: Oh yeah, that's true too.
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: Yeah, but there were places in the country that just
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: did not have a upan affiliate and yeah, right, access
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: to that show.
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: Yeah, so very good point.
- 1:01:35Speaker 9: All right, well and then okay, I'll just mute myself.
- 1:01:39Speaker 9: I'll just mute when I when you you go. So
- 1:01:43Speaker 9: another thing is that with academy Okay, yeah, we can
- 1:01:48Speaker 9: give it a try and see how it goes. Maybe
- 1:01:50Speaker 9: they learned something, but a lot of the other like
- 1:01:55Speaker 9: reviews that have given it a C plus or something,
- 1:01:59Speaker 9: and so we'll see. And you know, I'm not gonna
- 1:02:04Speaker 9: be a buzz kill and say, okay, it's gonna be awful.
- 1:02:08Speaker 8: Yeah. Well, we'll take a look and give it a
- 1:02:12Speaker 8: fair shake.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: Yeah absolutely, okay, yeah, fair enough?
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: Right, cool, Thank you guys, Yeah, thank you.
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: Thanks, Yeah, thanks for coming on. It's good to hear
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: from him.
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: Yeah all right, Oh, we had somebody else waiting, but
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: she took off, so we'll get to the next one
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: waiting on the line, jazz biz.
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: So let me bring him in.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: There is.
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: Jazz biz there, hear me. Oh yeah, here we are.
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, good.
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: So buddy, would you say, are you in the celestial temple?
- 1:02:54Speaker 6: Well, it's the sunlight coming into the Okay, when I
- 1:02:57Speaker 6: move you can kind of see it. Yes, yes, I'm
- 1:03:04Speaker 6: the emissary now.
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: Oh wow, the emissary with with dog treats with.
- 1:03:13Speaker 6: A track cast hat.
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: There you go, there you go.
- 1:03:15Speaker 6: So uh, you guys are all going to hell for
- 1:03:18Speaker 6: voting for section thirty one is the best.
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: You are denied.
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: It was the will of the paw rates. That's section
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: thirty one.
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: Yeah, uh huh. Just be forever tied to your names.
- 1:03:34Speaker 6: Yes, yes, it's like the most voted best show would
- 1:03:39Speaker 6: be on the DVD.
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: So, uh, you got any predictions for the show?
- 1:03:45Speaker 6: Well, I have a prediction, and it's a fact. Captain
- 1:03:51Speaker 6: doesn't wear shoes on the ship.
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that is one.
- 1:03:55Speaker 6: Yeah, and she's and she sits in the captain's chair
- 1:03:59Speaker 6: like a kiddie hat.
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: So who doesn't wear shoes the captain?
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, Holly Hunter does not wear shoes. In the show,
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: like like.
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: The actress doesn't or the character doesn't.
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: The character doesn't doesn't like to wear shoes. Yeah, Scott's back,
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: all right, all.
- 1:04:23Speaker 6: Right, you guys, Scott, in the military, could you go
- 1:04:27Speaker 6: around with no shoes on?
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: No?
- 1:04:31Speaker 6: Okay, So the captain doesn't wear shoes.
- 1:04:33Speaker 4: So in the military, you're required to wear shoes in
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: the shower, so that you don't get that.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: Correct.
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: Yes, that's hilarious. I didn't know that that's some of us.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: Would in Iraq. We would wear boots walking from our
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: rooms to the showers because there were scorpions and camel spiders.
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: Oh wow, yeah, huh do you know that.
- 1:05:00Speaker 6: I know there's gonna be maybe a mystery box this
- 1:05:02Speaker 6: season because I've heard somebody review the first few episodes.
- 1:05:07Speaker 6: So that's always men, you know, and I hear you know,
- 1:05:15Speaker 6: the show's not for us. It's supposed to be for
- 1:05:18Speaker 6: like a younger crowd, and they're trying to get the
- 1:05:21Speaker 6: younger crowd in here.
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, they're trying to expand the base.
- 1:05:25Speaker 6: So yeah, so this is this is for our demographic yep. Yeah,
- 1:05:33Speaker 6: And if we tune out, that's all right. We have many, many,
- 1:05:37Speaker 6: many years a good star Trek.
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: That's right.
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: Apparently the one with the whales is the one to watch.
- 1:05:43Speaker 6: So yes, yes, but you know what's funny is Voyager
- 1:05:47Speaker 6: is like the most popular right now, but that was
- 1:05:50Speaker 6: the least popular in the nineties.
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: Yeah, well you could argue Enterprise was the least popular.
- 1:05:56Speaker 6: Yeah, well I understand, well because they did a prequel
- 1:05:59Speaker 6: and that yeah, really had war and they couldn't even
- 1:06:02Speaker 6: beam down and you know, there's there's some issues with
- 1:06:05Speaker 6: the Enterprise. Yeah, and it was one of the you
- 1:06:08Speaker 6: know other ones that didn't get seven seasons either. They
- 1:06:12Speaker 6: just kind of ended it.
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: So yeah, all right, I don't know.
- 1:06:18Speaker 6: Yeah, I think this season once the first episode this week.
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: Or yeah, this week, yeah, Thursday, the first two.
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: Yeah, it's gonna say the first two. Yeah, we're gonna
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: drop a duce on us. Yes, yeah, all right, well.
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: Jez because we got we got one more person waiting,
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: so we're trying to get to everybody, Okay, yeah, we'll
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: catch with you next week. And then we got one
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: more special guest. I think this is the first time
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: her first time on the show. Fully, Yeah, here we go, Scott.
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: You want to introduce this person.
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: Well, hello, this is uh, Desiree, my lovely wife.
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: There we go.
- 1:07:01Speaker 10: Hi, you guys hear me?
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, you gott are fine.
- 1:07:05Speaker 10: Okay, it's weird because I can't really hear myself other
- 1:07:08Speaker 10: than me talking.
- 1:07:11Speaker 4: So are you responsible for this section thirty one?
- 1:07:14Speaker 7: Win?
- 1:07:14Speaker 4: Is that what you're here to tell us?
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: As as your union?
- 1:07:18Speaker 10: I mean, I'm responsible for the whole thing.
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:07:24Speaker 10: Wow, I cannot tell you the dedication it took for
- 1:07:29Speaker 10: the outcome, but yes, they were all mine, and I
- 1:07:34Speaker 10: stand by Voyager and I stand by Star Trek four.
- 1:07:40Speaker 4: There you go.
- 1:07:40Speaker 10: Definitely three was a close second.
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: So you're the reason why my Star Trek first contact
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: was knocked out.
- 1:07:51Speaker 10: Definitely. Okay, It's always the one with the whales. If
- 1:07:55Speaker 10: I'm going to watch, it's the one with the whales.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: Well, I would like to point out that no no
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: laws international or or domestic laws were broken or intergalactic
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: laws were broken during this uh these votes, there was
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: no voter fraud. We've done an extensive internal investigation and
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: come to find out that no, no specific rules were broken.
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: So ye instigation.
- 1:08:21Speaker 10: I do recall that Daniel said. Daniel said, vote often right,
- 1:08:28Speaker 10: and please vote that's right. So many lunch times were
- 1:08:32Speaker 10: spent wow voting, I must say, and evenings and anytime
- 1:08:41Speaker 10: I was waiting and had my value with me.
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: I think I let this be a lesson to the
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: rest of the voters. Yeah, that's right.
- 1:08:54Speaker 10: You got to be as dedicated as.
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: Me, Chas says Riot the Capitol. Oh boy, So we
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: haven't really talked about it much, but are you looking
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: forward to start Starfleet Academy.
- 1:09:09Speaker 10: I think it is definitely the most anticipated. Not in
- 1:09:13Speaker 10: a good way necessarily, but it is the most anticipated.
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: So I mean, well, I'm sure you'll be. I'm sure
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: you'll be next to me on the couch when we
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: watch it on Thursdays.
- 1:09:24Speaker 10: So and I think it's too ridiculous. I'll just tune
- 1:09:29Speaker 10: it out and play on my phone, okay, exactly, I'll
- 1:09:37Speaker 10: pretend like I'm watching.
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: It with you. Okay, Yeah, that's right.
- 1:09:44Speaker 10: I honestly, I honestly think because I am a casual
- 1:09:49Speaker 10: star Trek watcher, I will probably get some entertainment out
- 1:09:54Speaker 10: of it, more so than some really you know, hardcore.
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: Star trek people, right, And I think it's geared towards
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: people like you that, you know, a casual star trek fan,
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: you know.
- 1:10:05Speaker 10: So however, I never watched Dawson's Creek, so I'm not
- 1:10:11Speaker 10: on that bandwagon. Okay, And then what was the other
- 1:10:15Speaker 10: thing I was gonna say?
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: Oh no, chasm, says Dad. You better watch out. You
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: are looking at your replacement.
- 1:10:26Speaker 10: I'm not as cute, so that's not gonna work.
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: Well, I disagree on that one.
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:10:33Speaker 4: If that's Dad, that's the right answer.
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: That's the right answer.
- 1:10:37Speaker 10: Perfect, he knows what to say.
- 1:10:39Speaker 4: That's right exactly.
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: All right. Dad's wisely keeping as.
- 1:10:44Speaker 10: Well, this is not my thing. You probably won't see
- 1:10:49Speaker 10: me on here again.
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: Well this has been a treat.
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, all right, Well, anything else we want to
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: bring before we wrap it up?
- 1:11:02Speaker 10: I think I think I'm done because I can't remember.
- 1:11:04Speaker 10: There was one more thing and I can't remember what
- 1:11:06Speaker 10: it is, but it'll come back to me after the show.
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: Okay. You'll just have to go on to the Facebook group.
- 1:11:12Speaker 4: All right.
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: Yep, Well, thanks thanks for coming on.
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: Yeah, thank you, thank you. We'll catch you guys next week.
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: Already. Take care.
- 1:11:24Speaker 7: This is Captain Benjamin Cisco of Deep Space nine and
- 1:11:27Speaker 7: Space God to the Bajorans. I have a mission for you.
- 1:11:30Speaker 7: This falls outside of Starfleet guidelines, so I can't order you,
- 1:11:34Speaker 7: but I'm asking for volunteers. Volunteers who will subscribe to
- 1:11:38Speaker 7: the trek Cast YouTube channel, leave five star reviews on
