Let Me Be Frank Podcast · Jul 18, 2025 · 1h 8m

Comedy writer and Only an Excuse creator Phil Differ and Glasgow stand-up favourite Raymond Mearns join Frank McAvennie and Simon Houston for a riotous episode packed with stories, laughs and a bit of nostalgia.

The four talk football, the glory days of Scottish sketch comedy, and how Phil came up with Frank’s iconic catchphrase “Where’s the birds?” — much to Frank’s ongoing confusion. Raymond delivers what may be the greatest joke ever told, and they all discuss the inspiration behind Celtic Da’s — Phil’s brand-new stage play starring Raymond and fellow Scottish comic Bruce Morton.
