- 0:00SPEAKER_08: Well Brian, this is a very interesting slide.
- 0:06SPEAKER_08: Is your mom marry Mr.
- 0:07SPEAKER_08: Rogers?
- 0:24SPEAKER_14: And me.
- 0:26SPEAKER_14: And his mom's favorite Larry.
- 0:29SPEAKER_05: Hello, guys.
- 0:31SPEAKER_05: Welcome to the O'Brien and Doug podcast.
- 0:34SPEAKER_05: I'm O'Brien.
- 0:35SPEAKER_05: I'm Doug.
- 0:36SPEAKER_05: Happy New Year, everybody.
- 0:37SPEAKER_05: Happy New Year 2024.
- 0:42SPEAKER_05: We're a little donked.
- 0:43SPEAKER_05: I'm a little donked.
- 0:44SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 0:44SPEAKER_05: You probably tired.
- 0:46SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 0:46SPEAKER_05: So we uh we rang in the new year uh in style, our own style, I guess.
- 0:53SPEAKER_05: In a chili style.
- 0:54SPEAKER_05: In a chili style.
- 0:56SPEAKER_05: Not in a chilies.
- 0:57SPEAKER_05: It was it was a gig that was um, I think by us predetermined to be a cluster.
- 1:06SPEAKER_03: It was a Charlie Fox trot.
- 1:07SPEAKER_05: Um It ended up being okay.
- 1:10SPEAKER_05: At least Well, we made it okay.
- 1:12SPEAKER_05: And that's the thing that's that I read into this is it's because we got to play together.
- 1:18SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:18SPEAKER_05: And and we have fun playing, period.
- 1:21SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:22SPEAKER_05: Uh whether there's I mean it's more fun when there's a crowd and the crowd is into it.
- 1:26SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 1:27SPEAKER_05: But yes, it was cold.
- 1:30SPEAKER_05: Uh I couldn't feel my fingers.
- 1:32SPEAKER_05: No, I imagine.
- 1:33SPEAKER_05: Um but like I said, I mean, we have fun, we like these songs, we we sounded good.
- 1:41SPEAKER_05: OJ made sure of that.
- 1:42SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:43SPEAKER_05: You know, I think um I think it's because of people.
- 1:47SPEAKER_05: OJ is a renaissance, man.
- 1:48SPEAKER_05: Well, here's the here's the thing I was gonna say.
- 1:50SPEAKER_05: That guy can do anything, man.
- 1:51SPEAKER_05: I think I think it's because of people like OJ and Kelly and Joel and Chris Morton that I didn't really worry about it.
- 2:02SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 2:03SPEAKER_05: You know?
- 2:03SPEAKER_05: And Larry and and Larry.
- 2:05SPEAKER_05: I knew, I knew, and I knew once Larry was involved, I was like, we're gonna be okay.
- 2:08SPEAKER_05: Um because the city had kind of put us through um well, they promised us a lot of things.
- 2:18SPEAKER_03: And delivered on and almost none of it.
- 2:20SPEAKER_05: Didn't come through uh almost at all.
- 2:22SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 2:23SPEAKER_05: Um there's a lot of back and forth, you know.
- 2:27SPEAKER_05: Uh we can't find a tent.
- 2:29SPEAKER_05: Do you really need a tent?
- 2:30SPEAKER_05: Yes, we need a tent.
- 2:31SPEAKER_05: Uh why do you need a tent?
- 2:32SPEAKER_05: Can you play outside?
- 2:33SPEAKER_05: No, we can't play outside.
- 2:34SPEAKER_05: It's raining out.
- 2:36SPEAKER_05: Have you ever done an event before?
- 2:37SPEAKER_05: December 31st.
- 2:39SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 2:39SPEAKER_05: Um so can can It's okay if you're in Arizona.
- 2:43SPEAKER_05: Can somebody some of you play under the tent and some of you not play under the tent?
- 2:46SPEAKER_05: No, we all have to be under the tent.
- 2:48SPEAKER_05: Hello?
- 2:48SPEAKER_05: You know, well, we can't we have then you can't have a stage.
- 2:51SPEAKER_05: Because the stage won't fit under the tent.
- 2:54SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 2:55SPEAKER_05: So we went there thinking that we were gonna be playing on the ground.
- 3:00SPEAKER_05: And which would have been wet, probably.
- 3:03SPEAKER_03: No, the pavement was pretty dry.
- 3:05SPEAKER_05: Yeah, well, I mean it was, but it could have been.
- 3:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it could have been wet.
- 3:07SPEAKER_03: It could have been wet.
- 3:09SPEAKER_05: So uh our our our cronies uh that's a negative word, but I mean our our representatives showed up early and they had delivered a stage outside the tent.
- 3:24SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 3:25SPEAKER_05: Because they said it wouldn't fit under the table.
- 3:27SPEAKER_05: And so you either get the tent or you get the stage.
- 3:30SPEAKER_05: And so our guys decided we're gonna put the tent under the stage or put the stage under the tent and you're gonna see.
- 3:36SPEAKER_05: So that's what they did.
- 3:38SPEAKER_05: And it worked.
- 3:40SPEAKER_05: It wasn't ideal, but we were we were but I I don't know why they pitched a tent.
- 3:46SPEAKER_05: They pitched a tent.
- 3:48SPEAKER_05: If they if they you know they gave us a stage or a tent.
- 3:53SPEAKER_05: So if we put it.
- 3:54SPEAKER_05: So why put the tent out?
- 3:55SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 3:55SPEAKER_05: If we were playing on a stage, what would be the tent before?
- 3:58SPEAKER_05: For people?
- 3:59SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 3:59SPEAKER_05: You know, so the people can go under the tent if it rains, but the band can't be outside with expensive equipment.
- 4:09SPEAKER_03: So a lot of brainiacs on this committee.
- 4:12SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 4:12SPEAKER_05: So like I said, we we made it fun.
- 4:17SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I think.
- 4:18SPEAKER_05: And I think the people that showed up and they all seemed to have fun.
- 4:22SPEAKER_05: They seemed to have fun.
- 4:23SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 4:24SPEAKER_05: And and there weren't a lot initially, and then I think what it was was which would this was I thought this was kind of stupid, but it was actually kind of smart.
- 4:33SPEAKER_05: Um, lots of stuff going on in the city last night.
- 4:37SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 4:37SPEAKER_05: You had fireworks at Riverside, you had a fundraiser going on at the community center, you had two uh rock bands at the mall, which I guess was also very successful.
- 4:46SPEAKER_03: Well, it was two rock bands, but it was the same band.
- 4:48SPEAKER_05: It was one band, yeah.
- 4:49SPEAKER_05: I don't know how many people knew that actually.
- 4:51SPEAKER_03: I don't knew either, but it was I saw some pictures.
- 4:54SPEAKER_03: There was a pretty good crowd there.
- 4:56SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 4:56SPEAKER_05: So um and then they had uh we were we were out in front of the hotel.
- 5:01SPEAKER_05: Rodney's is a restaurant that's in the hotel, and then downstairs there's a lounge where they had another rock band.
- 5:08SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 5:09SPEAKER_05: And you had New Year's Eve revelers that f went to all three places.
- 5:15SPEAKER_05: I mean, like in that area in the hotel.
- 5:17SPEAKER_05: So Oh, yeah, they just kept wandering.
- 5:19SPEAKER_05: Yeah, they ate at Rodney's.
- 5:20SPEAKER_05: Yeah, they went down to the lounge to see the band.
- 5:23SPEAKER_05: Yeah, they came up to see us.
- 5:24SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 5:25SPEAKER_05: So at any one point, we had 50 people out there.
- 5:30SPEAKER_05: Probably.
- 5:31SPEAKER_05: Um, I think probably at the highest amount of people.
- 5:34SPEAKER_05: We had about 50 people at the time.
- 5:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but they had a great time.
- 5:36SPEAKER_05: They were dancing, yeah.
- 5:37SPEAKER_03: They were having a great time.
- 5:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 5:38SPEAKER_03: So uh And nobody was obnoxious?
- 5:41SPEAKER_03: Nope.
- 5:41SPEAKER_03: Except for Weird Girl.
- 5:43SPEAKER_03: Which one was Weird Girl?
- 5:44SPEAKER_03: The one they just kept like cruising the stage, staring at everything.
- 5:48SPEAKER_03: It was weird.
- 5:48SPEAKER_03: It was kind of weird.
- 5:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 5:50SPEAKER_03: Really good looking, but really weird.
- 5:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah, she was really strange.
- 5:54SPEAKER_03: And her boyfriend like would like hang out in the back and just like keep an eye on her, like Yeah, just let her do her thing.
- 5:59SPEAKER_05: Just kind of let her do her thing, and he'd be there.
- 6:01SPEAKER_05: She'd come up to Anthony, like right up to the stage, and just look at him.
- 6:05SPEAKER_05: Like, yeah, look eye to eye.
- 6:07SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 6:07SPEAKER_05: And if he wasn't looking at her, she'd try and get his attention.
- 6:11SPEAKER_05: Like, look at me, look at me.
- 6:12SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 6:13SPEAKER_03: I got this feeling that she's some she thinks she's some sort of self-styled influencer.
- 6:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it did look that way.
- 6:19SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 6:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:20SPEAKER_03: Like, yeah, look, you know, I'm gonna put this on my social media, look what I'm doing.
- 6:24SPEAKER_03: I'm important.
- 6:25SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 6:25SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 6:26SPEAKER_05: You're not important.
- 6:27SPEAKER_05: There was uh there was one guy that had you could tell had had a few drinks and was uh yelling at the band, but it was all good.
- 6:33SPEAKER_05: I mean, it was all good, yeah.
- 6:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I know who you're talking about.
- 6:36SPEAKER_05: You know, it's I mean, like, you guys are the best band ever.
- 6:38SPEAKER_05: Yeah, this is the greatest piano player ever, you know.
- 6:40SPEAKER_05: That that which is fine.
- 6:42SPEAKER_05: You know, yeah.
- 6:43SPEAKER_05: As long as it wasn't obnoxious and there was no trouble that came from it.
- 6:46SPEAKER_05: So I think everybody really had a good time.
- 6:48SPEAKER_03: I mean, it was Yeah, that was you know, funny you mentioned that.
- 6:51SPEAKER_03: That there was no police presence.
- 6:54SPEAKER_05: You know what?
- 6:55SPEAKER_05: You're right.
- 6:55SPEAKER_05: Zero.
- 6:56SPEAKER_05: There was zero police there.
- 6:57SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 6:58SPEAKER_05: That's interesting.
- 6:59SPEAKER_03: Well, I mean, I think I mean I'm sure they were out and about because it's human keys.
- 7:03SPEAKER_05: It would have to be.
- 7:04SPEAKER_03: But they were there, I mean, zero.
- 7:06SPEAKER_03: I saw zero police officers the entire night.
- 7:09SPEAKER_05: You're right.
- 7:09SPEAKER_05: I never even thought of that.
- 7:10SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 7:11SPEAKER_05: There was no and I don't know if it's because they're well, they have that bouncer in the lounge.
- 7:18SPEAKER_03: You mean tall skinny guy?
- 7:19SPEAKER_03: Tall skinny guy.
- 7:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 7:21SPEAKER_03: He's intimidating.
- 7:24unknown: Yeah.
- 7:25SPEAKER_03: He might lecture, he might lecture me on Marsh on Marxism or something.
- 7:30SPEAKER_05: Anyway, I think it was uh uh you know, I'm I'm I'm not gonna say happy with it, but we got a good rehearsal and oh yeah.
- 7:38SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:39SPEAKER_03: It was yeah, I mean I I mean I still had fun.
- 7:41SPEAKER_03: So did I, you know, and it was just it was just it was just freaking cold.
- 7:45SPEAKER_03: It was cold, you know, and they had these, you know, we had propane heaters, you know, but they weren't working because the sides of the tents was open to the breeze.
- 7:55SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 7:55SPEAKER_03: So if I mean if it had if the sides of the tent had been closed in, it actually probably been a lot warmer.
- 8:02SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 8:02SPEAKER_03: Because if you put your like where were we standing, I you know, I put my hand up, yeah.
- 8:06SPEAKER_03: You could feel the heat up there.
- 8:08SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 8:09SPEAKER_03: But it was not down where we were.
- 8:10SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 8:10SPEAKER_05: You could see our breath.
- 8:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 8:12SPEAKER_03: See our breath.
- 8:12SPEAKER_03: I mean, I I while on intermission, I stayed out with Joel and uh just to keep an eye on the gear.
- 8:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 8:20SPEAKER_03: And uh so I stood by one of the propane heaters, and you can unless you were standing directly over it, you couldn't feel any heat.
- 8:30SPEAKER_05: Really?
- 8:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 8:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 8:32SPEAKER_03: I mean, it was just basically just going up to the ceiling of the tent.
- 8:36SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 8:36SPEAKER_05: So um and the other thing is we had I mean, we're we talked about how cold it was, but we had great weather.
- 8:47SPEAKER_03: Oh, it was really good weather.
- 8:48SPEAKER_05: Imagine if it had been snowing or raining or even colder.
- 8:53SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 8:53SPEAKER_05: I mean, which it normally would be.
- 8:54SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah, normal yeah.
- 8:55SPEAKER_05: You know, our New Year's Eve uh in in the Star City is not always 30 degrees.
- 9:01SPEAKER_05: No, you know, that's an anomaly.
- 9:04SPEAKER_05: It is, you know.
- 9:05SPEAKER_05: So we lucked out as far as that's concerned.
- 9:07SPEAKER_03: So well, if it if it had been sub-zero, they we would not have been outside.
- 9:12SPEAKER_03: That that gig would have been canceled.
- 9:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah, probably.
- 9:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they wouldn't have put us anywhere else because they didn't know what they were doing.
- 9:18SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 9:18SPEAKER_03: That's true.
- 9:19SPEAKER_03: So, you know, it we we would just effectively have the night off.
- 9:23SPEAKER_03: So with pay?
- 9:24SPEAKER_05: No.
- 9:24SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 9:25SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 9:26SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 9:27SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 9:28SPEAKER_03: I think I think Chris is more wily than that now, especially dealing with the city.
- 9:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 9:32SPEAKER_03: Because, you know, we get we had to change our name because I don't want to be associated with them anymore.
- 9:37SPEAKER_03: I mean, real I mean, I mean I I I got really tired of people talking just to hear themselves talk.
- 9:48SPEAKER_05: It's and and it was incessant.
- 9:50SPEAKER_05: You said the same things like four times.
- 9:54SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 9:55SPEAKER_05: You know, you're thanking the sponsors.
- 9:56SPEAKER_05: There's one thing to get up and say and thank all the sponsors.
- 9:59SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 9:59SPEAKER_05: But it's another thing to say, are you having a good time?
- 10:03SPEAKER_05: Look, this is great.
- 10:04SPEAKER_05: This is a great, this is the best thing ever.
- 10:07SPEAKER_05: Over and over and over again.
- 10:09SPEAKER_05: I swear she talked for ten minutes.
- 10:10SPEAKER_03: She it felt like it because I think she was more trying to convince herself and the crowd that this was great.
- 10:16SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 10:17SPEAKER_03: And it was, it was, it was, you know, if you were just showing up to it, yeah, it probably was pretty great.
- 10:22SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 10:23SPEAKER_03: Well did you notice that where they put us up inside the hotel in the old copper's lounge?
- 10:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 10:29SPEAKER_03: That big, big screen TV.
- 10:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 10:31SPEAKER_03: Did you see what was on that?
- 10:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, downstairs.
- 10:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it was down.
- 10:34SPEAKER_03: I thought that was kind of neat actually.
- 10:35SPEAKER_03: It was neat.
- 10:36SPEAKER_03: I thought that was a pretty good idea.
- 10:37SPEAKER_03: They should have put it like closer where you could actually see the screen.
- 10:41SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 10:41SPEAKER_03: But uh I thought that was kind of a neat idea.
- 10:43SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 10:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 10:46SPEAKER_05: So here's you could go down here and see what's going on.
- 10:48SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 10:49SPEAKER_05: You know, I thought that was a good idea too.
- 10:50SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 10:50SPEAKER_03: Um I mean there were there are parts of it that was really well planned out.
- 10:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 10:54SPEAKER_03: But there were other parts of it that were just completely Charlie Fox drop.
- 10:58SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 10:58SPEAKER_05: You know, so it was just Well, I do think I do think that they threw it together in the last three, three weeks, four weeks.
- 11:05SPEAKER_03: Well, they had to.
- 11:06SPEAKER_03: They didn't even they didn't even hire us till last uh November.
- 11:10SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 11:11SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 11:11SPEAKER_05: So it was it was pretty much thrown together.
- 11:13SPEAKER_05: And for something that was thrown together, I think it was a pretty good success.
- 11:16SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 11:16SPEAKER_05: Um the uh what is it?
- 11:18SPEAKER_05: Uh ha having Marionette, um Shelby from Marionette came to sang a song with us was pretty cool.
- 11:24SPEAKER_05: That was great.
- 11:25SPEAKER_05: Yeah, we did a no doubt song, so that was fun.
- 11:28SPEAKER_05: Um and you know, there's people uh uh on social media talking about it, and some are complaining, some are saying the same thing, and this is what I would say to those who are complaining.
- 11:37SPEAKER_05: What were they complaining about?
- 11:38SPEAKER_05: You know, uh did our taxpayers pay for this when 15 people showed up?
- 11:43SPEAKER_05: You know, things like just the people that get going.
- 11:45SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah.
- 11:48SPEAKER_05: And I'll I will echo what someone responded.
- 11:51SPEAKER_05: Listen, you complain that there's nothing to do up here, and then when there is something to do, you still complain about it.
- 11:58SPEAKER_05: You still complain about it.
- 11:59SPEAKER_05: So go back to bed.
- 12:02SPEAKER_05: You know, go home.
- 12:03SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 12:04SPEAKER_05: Stay home.
- 12:05SPEAKER_05: We don't want you.
- 12:06SPEAKER_05: So negative Nancy.
- 12:08SPEAKER_05: Like you said, I think it was a success.
- 12:11SPEAKER_05: It was not at least our part was not logistically, it was a nightmare.
- 12:17SPEAKER_05: Yes, I agree.
- 12:18SPEAKER_03: Especially the outside portion of it.
- 12:19SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 12:20SPEAKER_03: Inside I mean, you can make anything work inside.
- 12:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 12:23SPEAKER_03: That's the easy part.
- 12:25SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 12:26SPEAKER_03: They just did not logistically speaking, for the outside part of it, they did not do well.
- 12:32SPEAKER_05: And I will say, and and I'm speaking as well, I really, you know, because I I appreciate all types of music and things.
- 12:43SPEAKER_05: But you don't have to please everybody.
- 12:45SPEAKER_05: You don't have to try and please everybody.
- 12:48SPEAKER_05: And the reason I say that is because we had some kids kids running around out out, you know, um by the stage, you know, for New Year's.
- 12:57SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah.
- 12:57SPEAKER_05: They had a hip hop act.
- 12:59SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah, that's right.
- 13:00SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 13:00SPEAKER_05: And fine.
- 13:02SPEAKER_05: It's I mean, it's cool, you know.
- 13:04SPEAKER_05: Um, but I don't think that it was completely family friendly.
- 13:08SPEAKER_05: Oh, well, they even said himself.
- 13:09SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 13:10SPEAKER_03: So he even went out and said it, and I was like, well, at least he's honest.
- 13:14SPEAKER_05: I'm not sure if you're if you're gonna do uh an event for the city, which you bill as family friendly, maybe not hire a uh adult-oriented hip hop act.
- 13:28SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 13:28SPEAKER_05: Uh they were fine.
- 13:29SPEAKER_05: Yeah, they were good.
- 13:30SPEAKER_05: I mean, they did a good job.
- 13:32SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 13:32SPEAKER_05: But yeah, I think that you know you don't have to please everybody.
- 13:35SPEAKER_05: Yeah, exactly.
- 13:37SPEAKER_05: So um, that's just my that's just my take on it.
- 13:40SPEAKER_05: Agreed.
- 13:41SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 13:41SPEAKER_05: So I would say it was a success.
- 13:43SPEAKER_03: Um we should talk about successful ish.
- 13:46SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 13:47SPEAKER_05: We should talk about uh since everybody's doing their recap of 2024.
- 13:52SPEAKER_05: We already did our stats on the last podcast.
- 13:54SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, that's right.
- 13:56SPEAKER_05: Um do we have any goals for 2025?
- 13:58SPEAKER_03: Uh to go to Singapore and see our fans.
- 14:05SPEAKER_03: That's right.
- 14:06SPEAKER_03: We have I spent a lot of time with the Pacific in the military.
- 14:10SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 14:10SPEAKER_03: So, you know, you know, the Pacific, it's it's really nice.
- 14:13SPEAKER_03: Sure.

- 15:52SPEAKER_05: Let's connect.

- 16:03SPEAKER_03: Oh, I see what you okay.
- 16:05SPEAKER_05: And then uh he says, I co-ho I co-host a podcast called, I'm not gonna say uh where we support fellow podcasters um and get the greatest value out of their show and be heard by more of their ideal listeners.
- 16:19SPEAKER_05: We have to stick together and find that so many podcasters do not realize what is holding their podcast back from being heard by more people.
- 16:25SPEAKER_05: So we've created the podcast power appraisal.
- 16:28SPEAKER_05: Here's a link to learn more about it if you're looking to make your show work harder for you, as well as my calendly link to schedule and appraisal.
- 16:38SPEAKER_05: So he wants to appraise our podcast.
- 16:39SPEAKER_03: Appraise our podcast?

- 17:16SPEAKER_05: And I'm just thinking.
- 17:20SPEAKER_03: Awesome, thank you, thank you, AI.
- 17:22SPEAKER_05: Yeah, right.
- 17:23SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I'm uh if you if you've listened to our podcast, you know it's just it's just well, your appraisal you can listen to it as it wants and appraise it and as as D minus.
- 17:34unknown: Right.
- 17:35SPEAKER_05: Maybe D plus.
- 17:36SPEAKER_05: You realize it's just us talking about stupid stuff.
- 17:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's all we're just talking to abuse ourselves.
- 17:41SPEAKER_03: We're not trying to influence anybody.
- 17:44SPEAKER_03: We are definitely not in the any position to influence anything whatsoever.
- 17:49SPEAKER_03: This is true.
- 17:50SPEAKER_03: And we're fine with that.
- 17:50SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 17:51SPEAKER_05: So um although my daughter said, I think I told you this last night, she's like uh she said, Um, have they asked you again to uh you and Doug to um do the color and play by play for uh an alumni high school basketball game or whatever?
- 18:09SPEAKER_05: And I said, No, they did that one time and they had never asked us.
- 18:12SPEAKER_03: Never passed us back.
- 18:13SPEAKER_05: She's like, I am not gonna go to another alumni game unless you guys are doing the color in the play by play.
- 18:19SPEAKER_05: So so what what that was was I don't know how long ago that was.
- 18:24SPEAKER_05: Ten years ago.
- 18:25SPEAKER_05: Well, something.
- 18:25SPEAKER_05: So close to that.
- 18:26SPEAKER_05: Because GG was uh uh was a senior, I think.
- 18:30SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 18:30SPEAKER_05: So I but I don't know how long ago that was.
- 18:32SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 18:33SPEAKER_05: But uh so we were up in the in the crow's nest in the booth and and calling it not on the radio or anything, but live over the speakers as the game was going on.
- 18:45SPEAKER_05: And uh we don't like I mean I'm not gonna say we don't like sports, but we don't know anything about sports.
- 18:50SPEAKER_03: Well, we know stuff about sports, just not basketball.
- 18:53SPEAKER_05: This is true.
- 18:54SPEAKER_05: This is true.
- 18:55SPEAKER_03: I mean we neither of us played basketball in high school.
- 18:58SPEAKER_03: I mean, which maybe played it, but we didn't play it, you know.
- 19:01SPEAKER_03: Which made it more fun.
- 19:02SPEAKER_03: It made made it really fun.
- 19:03SPEAKER_03: I mean, we were just like, you know, heckle people and you know gave them nicknames.
- 19:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, gave them nicknames that they didn't want or deserve, and uh, you know, just we we just be it ourselves.
- 19:13SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 19:14SPEAKER_03: And they I I assume everybody was just like, well, we want something more professional.
- 19:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 19:18SPEAKER_03: We should actually get people with personalities and know things about basketball.
- 19:22SPEAKER_05: So anyway.
- 19:23SPEAKER_05: She thought it was she thought it was a crime that we weren't asked again to do that.
- 19:27SPEAKER_05: Well, she's biased.
- 19:27SPEAKER_05: It was quite funny.
- 19:29SPEAKER_05: Um She got home by the way.
- 19:32SPEAKER_05: I had to put her on the plane at well, I told you this.
- 19:36SPEAKER_05: So her flight was at 5 45 Tuesday morning, New Year's Eve.
- 19:39SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 19:40SPEAKER_05: Uh and then every other airport that she goes to, you have to show up like an hour and a half to two hours early.
- 19:44SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 19:45SPEAKER_05: So, well, this should be no different.
- 19:46SPEAKER_05: So we got up at 3 30.
- 19:48SPEAKER_05: Because we don't travel.
- 19:50SPEAKER_05: We don't know what the airport's.
- 19:51SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 19:51SPEAKER_05: So we got up at 3 30 and we got there.
- 19:53SPEAKER_05: We're the first ones there.
- 19:54SPEAKER_03: Of course.
- 19:55SPEAKER_02: There's nobody there.
- 19:57SPEAKER_03: You probably had to unlock the door.
- 20:00SPEAKER_05: We just a little small pol podunk airport.
- 20:03SPEAKER_05: Um, you know, and and so we sat there.
- 20:06SPEAKER_03: Well, it will be until the the big expansion.
- 20:08SPEAKER_05: Oh, don't even get me started on that.
- 20:10SPEAKER_05: Don't even get me started on that.
- 20:13SPEAKER_05: We're gonna have an international jet way.
- 20:16SPEAKER_05: You know, so jet blue uh is the new airline.
- 20:20SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 20:21SPEAKER_05: And I've heard nothing but complaints about it.
- 20:25SPEAKER_03: Well, it's it's the Walmart of airlines.
- 20:29SPEAKER_03: Jet Blue, right Walmart blue, right?
- 20:32SPEAKER_05: On the on the way here, my daughter was delayed uh seven times.
- 20:39SPEAKER_05: She was she was supposed to leave at uh well she had a her coach they only have two flights.
- 20:46SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 20:47SPEAKER_05: Right?
- 20:48SPEAKER_05: So she had a delay in Boston for nine hours.
- 20:55SPEAKER_05: Right?
- 20:55SPEAKER_05: So she got some work done.
- 20:56SPEAKER_05: She sat in the airport and did some work.
- 20:59SPEAKER_05: And her plane was supposed to leave at uh I think it was supposed to leave at 9 30 or something like that.
- 21:07SPEAKER_05: And well then it got delayed to ten and then like ten thirty.
- 21:18SPEAKER_05: It turns out it was it's a less than an hour flight.
- 21:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I was supposed to say with a jet.
- 21:22SPEAKER_03: Well with one of the old turbo props, yeah, it would have been an hour and a half.
- 21:25SPEAKER_03: But with these jets you go a little bit faster.
- 21:28SPEAKER_05: We got home at two 'cause her her it was delayed until I don't know, she got on the plane at like twelve or something and got we got she got into the airport at one or or a little after one or but I mean But I'm hearing that's happening a lot.
- 21:43SPEAKER_03: Well, I I'm gonna attribute some of it to holiday travel.
- 21:49SPEAKER_03: She said there was nobody in the airport.
- 21:51SPEAKER_05: She said it was any of the airports?
- 21:53SPEAKER_05: Well, well she was at Logan.
- 21:54SPEAKER_05: And she's like, It's weird because there's nobody here.
- 21:56SPEAKER_05: Or not many people here.
- 21:57SPEAKER_05: Well, that is a little weird.
- 21:58SPEAKER_05: She's like not many people here.
- 22:00SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 22:00SPEAKER_05: Uh maybe just in the where she was.
- 22:02SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah.
- 22:04SPEAKER_05: You know, um portion of it.
- 22:05SPEAKER_03: Well, yeah, that's probably they're probably like, well, we'll we'll put you in the closet.
- 22:10SPEAKER_03: You guys can have the unfinished part of the thing.
- 22:15SPEAKER_03: You have to take off on the runway that looks like it was bombed by the Iraqi army.
- 22:22SPEAKER_05: Uh so let's see.
- 22:25SPEAKER_05: Seriously, I started talking about goals for 2025.
- 22:27SPEAKER_05: You do want to go to Singapore.
- 22:28SPEAKER_05: Okay, I got that.
- 22:29SPEAKER_03: Any any other goals?
- 22:30SPEAKER_03: Um I want to meet the fan from Germany that downloads this every week.
- 22:38SPEAKER_05: Here's the thing.
- 22:39SPEAKER_05: If you are a fan from outside of the continental US.
- 22:44SPEAKER_03: Oh, we have to.
- 22:45SPEAKER_03: Actually, if you're a fan outside of the state, we'll be I think uh Don't we Oh dude, I I meant to mention Did I see something about uh Bouncing Bob and Ilsa's.

- 23:46SPEAKER_05: Alright, I was switched because we did get we did get some mail here.

- 25:00SPEAKER_05: My mom took me to see Wicked in theaters, and if you ask me, it was amazing, and I can't wait for part two next year.
- 25:05SPEAKER_05: Sincerely, Ilsa.
- 25:07SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 25:07SPEAKER_03: Well, happy birthday.
- 25:08SPEAKER_03: Happy birthday.

- 25:16SPEAKER_05: Okay, so this one was sent uh Monday this week.
- 25:19SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 25:20SPEAKER_05: So we're not too bad on this one.
- 25:21SPEAKER_05: Hey guys, it's Ilsa again, and I have a new band for you guys to review.
- 25:24SPEAKER_06: Oh, nice.
- 25:25SPEAKER_06: Oh, okay.
- 25:28SPEAKER_05: Is it our band?
- 25:29SPEAKER_05: No, but it's not a new band.
- 25:30SPEAKER_06: Oh, okay.
- 25:32SPEAKER_05: It's a glam metal band called Steel Panther.
- 25:35SPEAKER_13: Oh.
- 25:38SPEAKER_05: They're from Los Angeles and they've been on America's Got Talent and Impractical Jokers, and they have six studio albums.
- 25:44SPEAKER_05: But I want you guys to review their song Eyes of a Panther, which is one of the most popular songs.
- 25:49SPEAKER_05: Now, if I know anything about Steel Panther, we'd have to check the lyrics first.
- 25:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we probably should do that.
- 25:55SPEAKER_05: Um Steel Panther, Ilsa, if you are just coming in contact with Steel Panther, I want you to talk to your father.
- 26:07SPEAKER_05: Yeah, they're a little risque.
- 26:09SPEAKER_05: So yeah.
- 26:10SPEAKER_05: And I I wonder if you had if you discovered them, because that was kind of odd to me, that after four or five albums, just on a whim, they went on America's Got Talent.
- 26:23SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that is weird.
- 26:24SPEAKER_05: That you know, they they were already popular, yeah.
- 26:27SPEAKER_05: They already had a fan base, and they kind of were huge and playing arenas.
- 26:31SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah and and and they said, We're gonna go on America's Get Talent.
- 26:35SPEAKER_05: And they did.
- 26:36SPEAKER_05: I don't know how they did.
- 26:37SPEAKER_05: I don't either, because I don't either.
- 26:40SPEAKER_05: But I think they I think they advanced.
- 26:43SPEAKER_03: Well, I'm sure they did, because I mean they're a great band.
- 26:45SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 26:45SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 26:46SPEAKER_05: So let's see.
- 26:55SPEAKER_03: I know Yoko was into them uh pretty heavily for a while.
- 26:59SPEAKER_05: Well, like I said, if you if you came from if you like 80s metal.
- 27:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 27:05SPEAKER_05: Uh Van Halen uh Poison things like that, you're gonna like them.
- 27:09SPEAKER_03: Oh, absolutely, yeah.
- 27:10SPEAKER_05: But it's it's very hedonistic.
- 27:12SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, oh yeah, it's very yeah, it it's they're definitely trying to bring the eighties back.
- 27:17SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 27:19SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I'm not gonna play this.
- 27:24SPEAKER_05: It's a lot of um well, okay, okay, so so it's not as bad as it's not as bad as a lot of.
- 27:34SPEAKER_03: Is it more innuendo?
- 27:35SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 27:35SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 27:36SPEAKER_05: Well that's so let's just so um okay, so I'll read it first.
- 27:42SPEAKER_05: Okay, and then we'll listen to it.
- 27:43SPEAKER_05: Alright.
- 27:44SPEAKER_05: Um, here we go.
- 27:45SPEAKER_05: Whoa.
- 27:46SPEAKER_05: Oh, whoa.
- 27:47SPEAKER_05: Wow.
- 27:52SPEAKER_05: She's looking good from head to toe.
- 27:54SPEAKER_05: She's licking her paws.
- 27:55SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 27:56SPEAKER_05: She's ready to blow.
- 27:59SPEAKER_05: Got a teeth like razors and claws like knives.
- 28:02SPEAKER_05: She's ready to pounce on your AF.
- 28:07SPEAKER_05: I can say ass.
- 28:09SPEAKER_05: Uh, you know you won't survive.
- 28:11SPEAKER_05: She's got the eyes of a panther, she's got lips like Satan, she's got the eyes of a panther, and soon you'll be a matin.
- 28:18SPEAKER_05: She's got the eyes of a panther.
- 28:20SPEAKER_05: Soon you'll be a maiden.
- 28:21SPEAKER_05: You'll be a matin.
- 28:22SPEAKER_05: It's not Bob Dylan.
- 28:28SPEAKER_05: She's making you crazy like a cat a cat in heat.
- 28:31SPEAKER_05: Got her claws running down your back.
- 28:33SPEAKER_05: Wow.
- 28:34SPEAKER_05: Under the sheets.
- 28:36SPEAKER_05: She's on the prowl.
- 28:37SPEAKER_05: Meow.
- 28:38SPEAKER_05: Jaws.
- 28:40SPEAKER_02: Here I am.
- 28:41SPEAKER_02: Meow.
- 28:41SPEAKER_05: Here I am trying to be a songwriter.
- 28:43SPEAKER_05: Meow.
- 28:45SPEAKER_05: You gotta take some lessons here.
- 28:47SPEAKER_05: Make notes.
- 28:47SPEAKER_05: Jaws ready to snap.
- 28:49SPEAKER_05: Like a game of cat and mouse.
- 28:50SPEAKER_05: You're caught in her trap.
- 28:52SPEAKER_05: And then it goes to the chorus again.
- 28:53SPEAKER_05: Oh, I should read it because it's it's a different chance to do it.
- 28:56SPEAKER_05: Oh, it's a different chorus.
- 28:57SPEAKER_05: She's got the eyes of a panther and a tongue like a cow.
- 29:00SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 29:00SPEAKER_05: What?
- 29:01SPEAKER_05: She's got the eyes of a panther.
- 29:03SPEAKER_05: You're gonna be her chow.
- 29:05SPEAKER_05: Oh, that's why.
- 29:07SPEAKER_05: She's got the eyes of a panther.
- 29:08SPEAKER_05: Yeah, we gotta we gotta rhyme something with chow.
- 29:11SPEAKER_05: She said, Don't be afraid of heavy metal.
- 29:13SPEAKER_05: Don't be afraid to rock, to rock, to rock.
- 29:16SPEAKER_05: She said, Don't be afraid now, so I won't.
- 29:23SPEAKER_05: You're hiding in the shadows, and you can hear her breath.
- 29:26SPEAKER_05: Your heart's pounding like a bass drum.
- 29:28SPEAKER_05: Boom, boom, boom.
- 29:30SPEAKER_05: Ready to meet you.

- 42:22SPEAKER_05: This is true, yeah.
- 42:23SPEAKER_05: Because he sampled this from the Rolling Stones.
- 42:26SPEAKER_05: Oh, did he?
- 42:27SPEAKER_05: And probably took all his money.
- 42:31SPEAKER_05: Well, he he um there's a whole backstory there.
- 42:36SPEAKER_05: Uh he was kind of done wrong uh for that song.
- 42:41SPEAKER_03: Oh uh Fiona Apple.

- 43:08SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that's what I mean.
- 43:11SPEAKER_11: Love and bad go Yeah, you're right.
- 43:15SPEAKER_05: I didn't like this video.
- 43:17SPEAKER_05: I was remembering it a different way.

- 43:45SPEAKER_07: Do you have the time to listen to me whine about nothing and everything allowed once?
- 43:56SPEAKER_07: I am one of those maladromics.
- 44:05SPEAKER_05: Skinny of us talked about doing this one, right?
- 44:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think it's on the it's on the new settlement.

- 44:13SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 44:29SPEAKER_05: Yeah, no, good stuff.
- 44:31SPEAKER_05: Uh Soundgarden, Black Hole Sun.

- 44:35SPEAKER_03: It was, but great song.
- 44:36SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah.
- 44:37SPEAKER_05: Great, great, great song.
- 44:38SPEAKER_05: One of the greatest um Soundgarden tunes.
- 44:40SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 44:41SPEAKER_05: But it was like like the the um face is kind of misshapen or yeah, it was yeah, it was odd.
- 44:51SPEAKER_03: I think that was the whole point.
- 44:52SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah.
- 44:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 44:53SPEAKER_05: And just kind of creepy.
- 45:11SPEAKER_05: Almost scary.

- 45:56SPEAKER_03: We'll talk about this video.
- 45:58SPEAKER_03: We were watching this for some reason.
- 46:00SPEAKER_03: I can't remember why.
- 46:03SPEAKER_03: We might have been talking about Perry Pearl.
- 46:15SPEAKER_05: See, I w one thing I I uh I like about videos, music videos.
- 46:22SPEAKER_05: And I dislike about music videos.
- 46:24SPEAKER_05: And if you I like see, because I'm a songwriter, so I like the stories.
- 46:31SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 46:32SPEAKER_05: But music videos takes away takes away the subjectivity, I think.
- 46:42SPEAKER_05: Or can mean like if I hear a song, I'm like, oh that's really cool.
- 46:47SPEAKER_05: It's about um you know uh it's about this.
- 46:52SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 46:53SPEAKER_05: But then they make a video.
- 46:56SPEAKER_05: It has nothing to do with that.
- 46:57SPEAKER_05: I was like, oh, so maybe it's about that.
- 47:02SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 47:02SPEAKER_05: I liked it before, and now I don't you know.
- 47:03SPEAKER_03: Yeah, now you don't like it as much.
- 47:05SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 47:05SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 47:06SPEAKER_05: So I like video I but I do like videos that tell a story.
- 47:10SPEAKER_05: You're following the story.
- 47:11SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 47:12SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 47:13SPEAKER_05: Um but I like concert videos too.
- 47:17SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 47:18SPEAKER_05: You know, depending on how they're shot.
- 47:19SPEAKER_05: So I don't know, there's that's it's it's a love hate thing.
- 47:23SPEAKER_05: It is a love-hate thing, yeah.
- 47:24SPEAKER_05: Uh this one this one I love because it has Silverstone in it.
- 47:29SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah.
- 47:31SPEAKER_05: And uh is this one with Liv Tyler as well?
- 47:33SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
- 47:34SPEAKER_03: Well, they were like the uh poster children for their videos for in the 90s.
- 47:38SPEAKER_03: This is Aerosmith crying.
- 47:43SPEAKER_05: There was a time Aerosmith was huge in the early in the early 90s.
- 47:50SPEAKER_03: Oh they could do no wrong.
- 47:53SPEAKER_03: Every song they put out was a banger.
- 47:55SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
- 47:57SPEAKER_08: The tables of time called me and where's a party.
- 48:04SPEAKER_08: That kind of thing.
- 48:05SPEAKER_05: Yeah, so they had that that uh I bet you I bet you all of those Alicia Silverstone Liv Tyler videos are on this list.
- 48:10SPEAKER_05: Oh, I'm sure I I bet I would I wouldn't be surprised.
- 48:13SPEAKER_03: So that's I mean, because they I mean back in the day they were like it girls.
- 48:17SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 48:18SPEAKER_03: You know, oh it's blind melon.
- 48:19SPEAKER_05: Blind Melon, no rain.

- 48:22SPEAKER_05: Rest in peace, shoot.
- 48:23SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, wasn't it?
- 48:24SPEAKER_03: I love the songs.

- 49:15SPEAKER_08: This is uh Jones in America.
- 49:19SPEAKER_05: This song was a collaboration between Bowie, Brian Eno, and Trent Reznor.
- 49:26SPEAKER_03: Oh, that explains it.
- 49:27SPEAKER_03: Because there's Trent Reznor right there.
- 49:30SPEAKER_03: Kind of stalk at him.
- 49:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 49:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I'd be scared too.
- 49:37SPEAKER_03: He's gonna smack him with the paper or something.
- 49:38SPEAKER_05: Say what you want about Trent Reznor.
- 49:40SPEAKER_05: I think he's a genius.
- 49:40SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah, that man is wicked smile.
- 49:44SPEAKER_04: Run, Dave, run! He's right behind you.
- 49:51SPEAKER_05: I'd be running from Trent Resner, too.

- 50:07SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 50:08SPEAKER_05: Uh, Radiohead, Karma Police.
- 50:10SPEAKER_03: I don't remember this song.
- 50:11SPEAKER_05: I don't either.
- 50:12SPEAKER_05: I don't really care for Radiohead very much.
- 50:14SPEAKER_05: No.
- 50:14SPEAKER_03: I don't remember the song at all.
- 50:20SPEAKER_03: Sounds like something else.
- 50:30SPEAKER_03: Have you noticed a theme in all these songs?
- 50:33SPEAKER_03: Most of them involve a car.
- 50:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 50:46SPEAKER_03: He doesn't waste any time getting to the title.

- 50:52SPEAKER_05: This to me would be just boring to watch.
- 50:54SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah.
- 50:57SPEAKER_05: But okay.
- 50:58SPEAKER_05: Uh here we go.
- 50:58SPEAKER_05: Aerosmith's living on the edge.
- 51:00SPEAKER_05: Uh this doesn't have that.
- 51:02SPEAKER_03: I don't think that has a uh Alicia soul.
- 51:04SPEAKER_05: This was a cool video, though.
- 51:05SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
- 51:05SPEAKER_03: Well, they were all pretty cool videos.
- 51:10SPEAKER_11: Something wrong with that.
- 51:11SPEAKER_03: I mean, that's when you did like the the blackface.
- 51:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 51:15SPEAKER_03: Well, sort of blackface.
- 51:17SPEAKER_03: Well, half blackface.

- 51:23SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 51:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 51:24SPEAKER_03: That was disturbing.
- 51:30SPEAKER_03: I should have blocked out the bottom half.
- 51:36SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that was a cool video.
- 51:37SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 51:38SPEAKER_05: Uh The Cure for Eddie I'm in love.
- 51:40SPEAKER_05: I love this song.

- 51:44SPEAKER_03: I just like the song.
- 52:02SPEAKER_05: Okay, guys, we're gonna have you run in and just put your shoes on and start playing whenever you feel like it.
- 52:10SPEAKER_03: Robert, Robert, wear a white shirt and uh you know, so it blanks out your face.
- 52:15SPEAKER_01: I don't care about it.
- 52:17SPEAKER_03: But that's it.
- 52:29SPEAKER_05: Great song.
- 52:30SPEAKER_05: Great song.
- 52:30SPEAKER_05: You can't play a tambourine though.
- 52:32SPEAKER_05: The video is Yeah.
- 52:35SPEAKER_05: Oh, uh, we talked about this uh the song at least last week.
- 52:39SPEAKER_05: It's funny that you say that because it's funny that I say that.
- 52:42SPEAKER_05: Because uh George Michael was our artist last week.
- 52:47SPEAKER_05: Was it last week?
- 52:48SPEAKER_05: Well, last week.
- 52:49SPEAKER_05: Last podcast.
- 52:49SPEAKER_05: Last podcast.
- 52:50SPEAKER_05: And because um um my daughter and I had to drive down to Orno for a basketball game, for the boys' basketball game.
- 52:57SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 52:57SPEAKER_05: So we listened to the podcast.

- 53:04SPEAKER_05: Because I only played a snippet of the song.
- 53:06SPEAKER_05: I said, I want to hear the whole song.

- 53:12SPEAKER_05: She liked it.
- 53:13SPEAKER_05: But the video Myra?
- 53:16SPEAKER_05: No, no, with Olivia.

- 53:18SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 53:19SPEAKER_05: The video, of course.
- 53:20SPEAKER_03: That's why you have to start using names.
- 53:22SPEAKER_05: The video had all these supermodels in it.
- 53:24SPEAKER_05: Do you remember this?
- 53:25SPEAKER_05: No.
- 53:25SPEAKER_05: You don't?
- 53:26SPEAKER_03: Oh, vaguely.
- 53:27SPEAKER_03: I think Cindy Crawford was in it.
- 53:28SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I'm gonna make it bigger for you.
- 53:30SPEAKER_05: But I love this song.
- 53:32SPEAKER_05: And and you know, if you think about it, we were talking about how uh George Michael got caught up in in the culture uh that he was in.
- 53:42SPEAKER_05: And um so faith was so huge, right?
- 53:47SPEAKER_05: The album Faith was so huge.
- 53:49SPEAKER_05: And people the record labels and everything, they wanted him to do this and they wanted him to do that.
- 53:55SPEAKER_05: But he didn't want to do that.
- 53:56SPEAKER_05: So that's what this song is about.
- 53:57SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 53:58SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 53:58SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 53:59SPEAKER_03: If you listen to the words, um he's talking about this is about the same time that Prince went through his, you know, artistly forming Prince.
- 54:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, this is when they were starting to fight back against record companies.
- 54:10SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 54:10SPEAKER_03: He's not even in this video.
- 54:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 54:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's all supermodels, right?
- 54:13SPEAKER_03: If I remember right.
- 54:14SPEAKER_03: Right, which made it better.
- 54:15SPEAKER_03: Well, yeah.
- 54:18SPEAKER_03: So you've never seen the video?
- 54:19SPEAKER_03: Well, I've seen it, but it's been a long like freaking time.

- 54:29SPEAKER_05: And I I was thinking what what the name, I thought the name of the album was Freedom, but no, it's Listen Without Prejudice.
- 54:34SPEAKER_03: Oh, oh, isn't that fancy?
- 54:45SPEAKER_03: Isn't that Amory guy?
- 54:48SPEAKER_03: That's just another guy.
- 54:50SPEAKER_05: Naomi Campbell, I think.
- 54:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's Naomi Campbell.
- 55:15SPEAKER_05: What do Linda Evangelistas do with these days?
- 55:18SPEAKER_05: I have no idea.
- 55:19SPEAKER_05: I don't really care.

- 55:30SPEAKER_03: Anyway.
- 55:37SPEAKER_05: I would agree that that deserves to be on the list of uh well just for the supermodels.
- 55:42SPEAKER_05: That's number 12, George Michael in Freedom 90.
- 55:44SPEAKER_05: And her Sandman.
- 55:46SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah.
- 55:46SPEAKER_05: Number 11.
- 55:47SPEAKER_05: That was a great video.
- 55:48SPEAKER_05: That was a pretty great video.
- 55:49SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 55:50SPEAKER_03: Because it kind of it kind of fits the song.
- 55:52SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 55:53SPEAKER_03: You know?
- 55:53SPEAKER_03: It's just this kid having a nightmare and all these.
- 55:55SPEAKER_03: I noticed they kept the old man from this video for the uh unforgiven video.
- 55:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 55:59SPEAKER_03: They were like, hey, we like your face.
- 56:01SPEAKER_03: Uh we're gonna put you in this other weird video.

- 1:02:07SPEAKER_05: Nine inch nails.
- 1:02:09SPEAKER_03: Why don't I remember this?
- 1:02:11SPEAKER_05: Oh, come on.
- 1:02:12SPEAKER_05: Oh, yes, I do.
- 1:02:13SPEAKER_05: Yeah, never mind.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_05: Uh this is the director's cut, so um, I'm not sure if they have uh censored it or not.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_05: Probably not.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_05: I doubt it.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_05: So when it comes to the chorus, we'll just see now look at that.
- 1:02:24SPEAKER_05: That's that's co that's disturbing.
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:02:27SPEAKER_05: That's disturbing.
- 1:02:28SPEAKER_03: Oh, that's a typical nine-inch nails video.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, okay, yeah, I know.
- 1:02:31SPEAKER_03: I remember exactly what that was.
- 1:02:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.

- 1:02:43SPEAKER_03: I mean, that dude can play and do just about anything he wants.
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:02:49SPEAKER_05: So obviously that's why it was a director's cut, what you just saw there.
- 1:02:54SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah, this It's just an odd, disturbing video.
- 1:03:04SPEAKER_03: I love how when Weird Al put this in one of his pokahs.
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_03: He put like slide whistles and like stuff in it with the chorus.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_03: It was pretty great.
- 1:03:16SPEAKER_05: I just you know, I just saw what you do.
- 1:03:19SPEAKER_05: I I censored it myself.
- 1:03:23SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's a weird video.
- 1:03:24SPEAKER_03: You can stop it now.
- 1:03:25SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's a weird.
- 1:03:27SPEAKER_05: Very creepy.
- 1:03:28SPEAKER_05: Uh smells like Teen Spirit, number one.
- 1:03:30SPEAKER_05: Of course I yeah.
- 1:03:30SPEAKER_05: Number one.
- 1:03:31SPEAKER_03: I I totally get that, man.

- 1:03:35SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 1:03:36SPEAKER_05: You know.
- 1:03:36SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that's the one that uh kind of started it.
- 1:03:39SPEAKER_05: Started it all.
- 1:03:40SPEAKER_05: Started it all for the for the nineties, anyway.
- 1:03:42SPEAKER_05: I thought.
- 1:03:44SPEAKER_05: Um so there you go.

- 1:03:47SPEAKER_03: 30 greatest music videos of the 90s, I think.
- 1:03:49SPEAKER_03: Is that what it said?

- 1:04:50SPEAKER_05: I said I have every album that you and I have rated.
- 1:04:54SPEAKER_05: And then he sent me his first Martin guitar.
- 1:05:00SPEAKER_05: I said, Oh, backpacker.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_05: So he got a little tiny tiny Martin guitar.
- 1:05:04SPEAKER_05: He's like, yep, very affordable and fun guitar.
- 1:05:07SPEAKER_05: So yeah, because I picked uh Randy Foster's uh holding money for if you found a hundred dollar bill or whatever.

- 1:05:32SPEAKER_03: She said, I love the picks this week.
- 1:05:33SPEAKER_03: All great songs for finding a hundred dollar bill on the sidewalk.
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_05: She gave it to the rascals, didn't she?
- 1:05:38SPEAKER_05: She didn't.
- 1:05:38SPEAKER_03: My pick this week was Cousin Larry's.

- 1:05:52SPEAKER_04: On to present.
- 1:05:55SPEAKER_03: Alright, so present song was The question was, you are eleven years old standing behind the divider wall at the roller rink.
- 1:06:05SPEAKER_03: What song is playing during couple skate when you look up to see your crush from school heading in your direction, smiling at you?
- 1:06:15SPEAKER_03: So I will read what cousin Larry said.
- 1:06:24SPEAKER_05: I do remember the roller rink in Carolina.
- 1:06:26SPEAKER_05: That's what my parents meant, actually.
- 1:06:27SPEAKER_05: Really?
- 1:06:28SPEAKER_05: Yeah, my dad was stationed at Rink in Caroline.
- 1:06:30SPEAKER_05: Oh, there we go.
- 1:06:34SPEAKER_03: Uh see, okay.
- 1:06:37SPEAKER_03: Well, I was 11 years old in 1976, and just beginning to discover girls.
- 1:06:42SPEAKER_03: I used to skate at the rink in Winslow, and songs like Beth by Kiss, Get Closer by Seals and Croft, and When I Need You by Leo Sayer were some of the slower songs for a couple skate.
- 1:06:53SPEAKER_03: I was really getting into the music of the day back then, but I had also discovered the Beatles.
- 1:06:58SPEAKER_03: I would say the song playing as my crush approach to me, smiling would be I Wanna Hold Your Hand.
- 1:07:07SPEAKER_05: Alright, let me get that up here.
- 1:07:19SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
- 1:07:22SPEAKER_05: Young and innocent.
- 1:07:24SPEAKER_00: I know it's time.
- 1:07:30SPEAKER_00: I wanna hold on.
- 1:07:34unknown: I wanna hold on.
- 1:07:38unknown: I wanna hold on.
- 1:07:39SPEAKER_03: You know, people uh Beatles fans are sometimes broken up into two camps.
- 1:07:43SPEAKER_03: They like early Beatles or they're like, you know, drug Beatles.
- 1:07:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:07:47SPEAKER_03: I like both.
- 1:07:47SPEAKER_03: I like all errors of the Beatles.
- 1:07:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:07:49SPEAKER_03: I love this stuff.
- 1:07:50SPEAKER_03: I love the poppy boy band songs.
- 1:07:54SPEAKER_03: I like the, you know, white album stuff.
- 1:07:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:07:57SPEAKER_03: You know, I love it all, man.
- 1:07:58SPEAKER_05: I love it all too.
- 1:07:59SPEAKER_05: I gotta say, I prefer the early stuff.
- 1:08:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I love the early stuff because it was more rock and roll.
- 1:08:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and it's and it's uh more rock and roll in its pure form.
- 1:08:08SPEAKER_05: Ear candy.
- 1:08:08SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:08:09SPEAKER_05: Too.
- 1:08:09SPEAKER_05: It's very the melodies and things like that.
- 1:08:11SPEAKER_03: The harmonies and everything.
- 1:08:12SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 1:08:12SPEAKER_05: Alright, so what's yours?
- 1:08:14SPEAKER_03: Well, mine was because it was 1983 when I was 11.
- 1:08:18SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 1:08:19SPEAKER_03: And my crush would have been my very first girlfriend, Danielle.
- 1:08:24SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 1:08:24SPEAKER_03: She was there last night.
- 1:08:25SPEAKER_03: She was there last night.
- 1:08:26SPEAKER_03: I was uh I was gonna say you probably saw her there.
- 1:08:28SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 1:08:29SPEAKER_03: And uh our song was Making Love Out of Nothing at All by Air Supply.
- 1:08:35SPEAKER_03: Oh, wow.
- 1:08:36SPEAKER_03: She loved that song so much.
- 1:08:40SPEAKER_05: That's that's a great song.
- 1:08:42SPEAKER_05: It is a great song.
- 1:08:43SPEAKER_05: It's uh uh I don't know if you knew this.
- 1:08:45SPEAKER_05: The same guy wrote this, wrote uh Two Out of Three Ain't Bad for Oh, yeah, that's right.

- 1:08:53SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:08:55SPEAKER_12: I know just how to whisper, and I know just how to do it.
- 1:09:01SPEAKER_03: I remember Danielle used to make me listen to this song.
- 1:09:04SPEAKER_03: I was like, Well, because you're my girlfriend, I'll listen to it.
- 1:09:07SPEAKER_03: You know, I was kind of skiking the thing because I was not into the song.
- 1:09:10SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 1:09:10SPEAKER_03: But it it the build-up to it is.
- 1:09:12SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah, the build-I mean, the corners is great.
- 1:09:14SPEAKER_12: Oh, when he gets into it, and it's like I know just when to face the truth and then I know just when to drink.
- 1:10:15SPEAKER_12: And I don't know how you do it.
- 1:10:24SPEAKER_05: It's it's so overly dramatic, you know, especially in the winter.
- 1:10:27SPEAKER_05: Oh, it is it is like sugary, the big boom.
- 1:10:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but great.
- 1:10:32SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, it's a great song.
- 1:10:34SPEAKER_03: I I you know I come I've come to appreciate it over the years.
- 1:10:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah.

- 1:18:53SPEAKER_03: Blue Jay Way was written by George in August 1967 during his visit to California with Patty Neil Aspinall and Alex Martis.
- 1:19:03SPEAKER_03: On arrival in Los Angeles on August 1st, they were driven to a small rented house with a pool on Blue Jay Way, a street high in the Hollywood Hills above Sunset Boulevard.
- 1:19:15SPEAKER_03: It belonged to the manager of singer Peggy Lee, who was on vacation in Hawaii at the time.
- 1:19:22SPEAKER_03: Derek Taylor, formerly the Beatles press officer, and now a publicist working in Los Angeles, was due to visit them on their first night in town, but got lost on the narrow can got lost in the narrow cannons, canyons on his way to the house and was badly delayed.
- 1:19:38SPEAKER_03: There was a small Hammond organ in the corner of the room, and George wild away the time while by composing a song about being stuck in a house on Blue Jay Way while his friends were lost in the fog.
- 1:19:51SPEAKER_03: Well, so that makes sense.
- 1:20:18SPEAKER_05: Not very good.
- 1:20:19SPEAKER_05: Whoever posted this one.
- 1:20:22SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:20:23SPEAKER_05: Yeah, not my favorite Beatles song.
- 1:20:25SPEAKER_05: No, definitely not.
- 1:20:26SPEAKER_05: Um, alright.
- 1:20:28SPEAKER_05: I have an album.
- 1:20:30SPEAKER_05: I don't know if we've done this artist before or not.
- 1:20:33SPEAKER_05: So let the guessing begin.
- 1:20:35SPEAKER_05: Big band?
- 1:20:37SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 1:20:39SPEAKER_03: Big band.
- 1:20:40SPEAKER_03: Small band.
- 1:20:41SPEAKER_03: Small band.
- 1:20:42SPEAKER_03: Meaning band.
- 1:20:44SPEAKER_03: Small band.
- 1:20:47SPEAKER_03: Small band.
- 1:20:50SPEAKER_05: Um I think it started out as four guys.
- 1:20:53SPEAKER_05: Uh then it was three guys.
- 1:20:55SPEAKER_05: And now it's three guys.
- 1:21:13SPEAKER_03: You think it's three guys?
- 1:21:14SPEAKER_05: I think I think now it's three guys.
- 1:21:26SPEAKER_05: You never asked me what genre either.
- 1:21:28SPEAKER_03: Oh, what genre?
- 1:21:30SPEAKER_03: Oh never mind, it's not Rush.
- 1:21:37SPEAKER_03: I almost think we've done that.
- 1:21:39SPEAKER_03: Is it is it Mike and the Mechanics?
- 1:21:42SPEAKER_03: How did you do that?
- 1:21:45SPEAKER_05: How did you do that?
- 1:21:47SPEAKER_03: Well, at first I was gonna say Genesis, but we we just did Genesis not too long ago.
- 1:21:51SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:21:52SPEAKER_05: So have we done Mike and the Mechanics?
- 1:21:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I'm pretty sure we have.
- 1:21:56SPEAKER_05: We have?
- 1:21:56SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:21:58SPEAKER_05: Um Yeah, now that you say that, I think I remember talking about this one.
- 1:22:06SPEAKER_05: Because it was for his dad.
- 1:22:07SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:22:08SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:22:14SPEAKER_05: It's okay though.
- 1:22:16SPEAKER_03: I I know.
- 1:22:17SPEAKER_03: I I never complain when we have to talk about mic and mechanics.
- 1:22:20SPEAKER_05: This is uh from the compilation uh album Hits.
- 1:22:28SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 1:22:28SPEAKER_05: This is only the second time we've done it.
- 1:22:31SPEAKER_05: And we how long ago did we do it?
- 1:22:33SPEAKER_05: Oh, it's been a while.
- 1:22:34SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:22:34SPEAKER_09: Blame's the one before.
- 1:22:48SPEAKER_09: I know that I'm a prisoner to all my father has old fear.
- 1:22:54SPEAKER_09: I know that I'm a hostage.
- 1:22:56SPEAKER_09: All his hopes and fears I just wish I could have told in the world.
- 1:23:03SPEAKER_05: That's of course the great Paul Carrick.
- 1:23:06SPEAKER_05: Yes, on Leave Vocals.
- 1:23:07SPEAKER_05: And Mike is Mike Rutherford from Genesis.
- 1:23:10SPEAKER_05: And there was another singer named Paul Young, not the Paul Young that sang Oh Girl.
- 1:23:15SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 1:23:16SPEAKER_05: But another different Paul Young.
- 1:23:17SPEAKER_05: Different Paul Young.
- 1:23:18SPEAKER_05: He sings this one.
- 1:23:20SPEAKER_05: Uh, he's sadly passed on.
- 1:23:24SPEAKER_05: But I love this song.
- 1:23:26SPEAKER_05: This is a great song.
- 1:23:46SPEAKER_03: I don't even tell you it's the intro.
- 1:23:49SPEAKER_03: Wow, that's this is a very informative video.
- 1:24:20SPEAKER_05: Very electronic, but still it's still great.
- 1:24:23SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah.
- 1:24:23SPEAKER_03: Of course it was the 80s.
- 1:24:24SPEAKER_03: We didn't care back then.
- 1:24:26SPEAKER_05: Genesis had become very electronically.
- 1:24:28SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 1:24:34SPEAKER_03: I don't think we were as picky back then as well, you know.
- 1:24:37SPEAKER_03: I agree.
- 1:24:37SPEAKER_03: Was it we were as live or if it was electronic?
- 1:24:40SPEAKER_03: We didn't really care.
- 1:24:41SPEAKER_03: We weren't really musicians then.
- 1:24:42SPEAKER_03: Not really.
- 1:24:42SPEAKER_03: See, we just we just like the song.
- 1:24:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:24:49SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that's that's that's classic.
- 1:24:52SPEAKER_05: Uh so there's that and the living years that I just played.
- 1:24:55SPEAKER_05: There was this one, they say it was a hit.
- 1:24:58SPEAKER_05: It's on the hits album.
- 1:24:59SPEAKER_05: I don't remember it being a hit, but I love this song.
- 1:25:02SPEAKER_05: Uh another cup of coffee.
- 1:25:09SPEAKER_05: I don't remember this song at all.
- 1:25:10SPEAKER_05: I love I love this song.
- 1:25:12SPEAKER_05: Paul Caracas.
- 1:26:21SPEAKER_05: I like that one, and then of course we have the one that I remember I thought they used it in the movie Starman.
- 1:26:28SPEAKER_05: I never saw that movie.
- 1:26:30SPEAKER_05: With uh Jeff Bridges.
- 1:26:31SPEAKER_05: But maybe they didn't.
- 1:26:32SPEAKER_05: I don't remember that.
- 1:26:33SPEAKER_05: But this is we've actually done a cover of this ver this song.
- 1:26:36SPEAKER_05: Who?
- 1:26:36SPEAKER_05: You and I.
- 1:26:37SPEAKER_05: We have?
- 1:26:37SPEAKER_05: We've played it uh as a cover.
- 1:26:39SPEAKER_05: We did our own little thing with it.
- 1:26:43SPEAKER_05: Do you remember this at all?
- 1:26:44SPEAKER_05: As it builds up.
- 1:26:48SPEAKER_05: No, no, no.
- 1:27:08SPEAKER_05: Nothing yet.
- 1:27:10SPEAKER_05: Nope.
- 1:27:19SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
- 1:27:20SPEAKER_03: That was a long time ago.
- 1:27:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:27:22SPEAKER_03: We haven't done that for a long time.
- 1:27:23SPEAKER_03: I used to love doing it though.
- 1:27:25SPEAKER_03: Should bring it back.
- 1:27:35SPEAKER_05: It's called silent running.
- 1:28:29SPEAKER_05: I'll play one more with Paul Young singing.
- 1:28:31SPEAKER_05: This is another big hit of theirs.
- 1:28:34SPEAKER_05: Which was pretty great, actually.
- 1:28:40SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah.
- 1:28:41SPEAKER_05: Great song.
- 1:28:42SPEAKER_05: Taken in.
- 1:28:42SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:28:44SPEAKER_05: Simple, but just you know, melodic.
- 1:28:48SPEAKER_09: Kind of like around the face around the face around.
- 1:29:08SPEAKER_09: That's that's the right.
- 1:29:16SPEAKER_09: You say I'm the only one when I give you right.
- 1:29:21unknown: I want to play.
- 1:29:29SPEAKER_05: Mike Rutherford co-wright wrote all of these songs.
- 1:29:32SPEAKER_09: I mean And if you say you understand, I don't believe it.
- 1:29:41SPEAKER_09: And when you reach out for my hand, I don't believe it.
- 1:29:46SPEAKER_09: And if you say you take the blame, I don't believe it.
- 1:29:51SPEAKER_09: And if you say that nothing's changed, I don't believe it, don't believe it.
- 1:29:56SPEAKER_05: So that's them in their heyday, and then of course, we lost Paul Young.
- 1:30:00SPEAKER_05: Paul Carrick has his own solo career.
- 1:30:02SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 1:30:03SPEAKER_05: Um but back in 2017, Mike Rutherford got a couple other guys together and brought Mike and the mechanics back.
- 1:30:12SPEAKER_05: They're still Oh yeah, I forgot about that.
- 1:30:13SPEAKER_05: They're still together.
- 1:30:15SPEAKER_05: Uh, but they don't I don't think they do a lot right now.
- 1:30:18SPEAKER_05: Um I'm gonna I'm gonna play over just a piece of a song from the they that they released in 2017.
- 1:30:28SPEAKER_05: It's not the same without Paul or Paul.
- 1:30:31SPEAKER_05: But the two guys that that uh are singing now are are pretty good.
- 1:30:36SPEAKER_05: I can't remember their names.
- 1:30:41SPEAKER_05: But again, Mike Rutherford.
- 1:30:42SPEAKER_05: I always wondered what Mike Rutherford did because it just says he plays guitar.
- 1:30:47SPEAKER_05: I don't want to live.
- 1:30:47SPEAKER_05: He doesn't sing or anything like that.
- 1:30:50SPEAKER_05: No, he used the name.
- 1:30:51SPEAKER_05: Well, it's he writes all the songs.
- 1:30:53SPEAKER_03: Oh, there you go.
- 1:30:54SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 1:30:56SPEAKER_03: You know, if he wasn't there, it'd be just the mechanics.
- 1:30:59SPEAKER_03: You know, so living a lie.
- 1:31:04SPEAKER_03: That's a boring name.
- 1:31:07SPEAKER_09: Every day the pressure is a bit.
- 1:31:09SPEAKER_05: But I wonder if they could if they could, if Mike gave him their blessing and they just said, we're gonna go out as the mechanics.
- 1:31:16SPEAKER_05: Where's Mike?
- 1:31:18SPEAKER_04: We want Mike! We want Mike!
- 1:31:23SPEAKER_00: What can I do?
- 1:31:26SPEAKER_00: So let me fly, let me fly, pull it.
- 1:31:30SPEAKER_05: See, it's not the same.
- 1:31:31SPEAKER_05: I mean, it's good.
- 1:31:31SPEAKER_03: That's good, but it's yeah, it's not yeah, it doesn't have that same like feel.
- 1:31:35SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:31:36SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:31:37SPEAKER_05: And I think they've got I think this is from 2017.
- 1:31:40SPEAKER_05: I think they put out maybe two or three albums altogether.
- 1:31:43SPEAKER_05: Wow.
- 1:31:43SPEAKER_05: As a unit, as the the new unit.
- 1:31:45SPEAKER_05: Um, I don't know.
- 1:31:46SPEAKER_05: But I love the classic stuff.
- 1:31:47SPEAKER_03: Yeah, the classic is the best.
- 1:31:49SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:31:49SPEAKER_05: So anyway, that's it.
- 1:31:51SPEAKER_05: Mike and the mechanics are uh Mike We Want Mike Wall of Tunes album of.
- 1:31:57SPEAKER_03: I wanna be, I wanna be like Mike.
- 1:32:00SPEAKER_05: And that is episode two twenty-four.
- 1:32:02SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:32:03SPEAKER_05: In the books.
- 1:32:04SPEAKER_05: First one of 2025.
- 1:32:05SPEAKER_05: Yeah, our almost our fifth anniversary.
- 1:32:08SPEAKER_05: Yeah, when is that?
- 1:32:09SPEAKER_05: April?
- 1:32:10SPEAKER_05: April, yeah.
- 1:32:10SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:32:11SPEAKER_05: So we're gonna We're gonna do something big for that.
- 1:32:14SPEAKER_02: Yes, yes, we are.
- 1:32:17SPEAKER_03: That's when we're gonna take our trip to Singapore and do a live podcast.
- 1:32:23SPEAKER_05: I think we should I think we should definitely change all the intros and the bumper music and revamp the show for the fifth anniversary.
- 1:32:30SPEAKER_03: I was thinking about that.
- 1:32:36SPEAKER_03: I lost my train of thought.
- 1:32:40SPEAKER_03: Well, I had this I had this thought of it, because you know, I listen to a lot of other different podcasts and they never change anything.
- 1:32:47SPEAKER_03: That's boring.
- 1:32:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:32:48SPEAKER_03: I mean, it's like you know, you know which podcast you listen to because once the the theme song comes on, it's like, oh, it's this one.
- 1:32:55SPEAKER_05: Do you find that boring?
- 1:32:56SPEAKER_03: No, I do a little bit, but it's it's just I I wonder if that's like a if it if it's like a detriment to the podcast because we're always changing stuff.
- 1:33:04SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:33:05SPEAKER_03: Well, we haven't changed we haven't changed a lot.
- 1:33:07SPEAKER_03: No, no, I mean, but we changed like the theme song and then we Yeah.
- 1:33:11SPEAKER_03: We definitely need new pictures.
- 1:33:13SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:33:13SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:33:14SPEAKER_05: New pictures.
- 1:33:15SPEAKER_05: I would like to change the intro.
- 1:33:17SPEAKER_05: Uh well, I still want cousin Larry.
- 1:33:19SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah, me too.
- 1:33:20SPEAKER_05: Me too.
- 1:33:20SPEAKER_05: I want to get cousin Larry to do although he did he he did more than just what I know, yeah.
- 1:33:24SPEAKER_05: He had a few others.
- 1:33:25SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:33:26SPEAKER_05: Um and maybe I can try and find that and and uh maybe he could you know do a couple of do some fresh ones.
- 1:33:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:33:31SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:33:32SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:33:32SPEAKER_05: I I do want to keep Cousin Larry doing it, but um we'll keep the same music.
- 1:33:37SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I like that.
- 1:33:38SPEAKER_05: I like the music.
- 1:33:38SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I like the song we have.
- 1:33:40SPEAKER_05: Yeah, but we'll get to we'll get cousin Larry to uh if you're listening to Cousin Larry, it's it's all on you now.
- 1:33:46SPEAKER_05: So we'll get we'll get him to do some new intros and we'll try and get that.
- 1:33:49SPEAKER_02: It's like, don't I do enough for you guys?
- 1:33:52SPEAKER_02: Send you money, send you Christmas cards.
- 1:33:54SPEAKER_02: What do you give me?
- 1:33:55SPEAKER_02: Nothing.
- 1:33:56SPEAKER_03: This is so true.
- 1:33:59SPEAKER_03: Well, I'm all the way out here in Wyoming.
- 1:34:03SPEAKER_03: You guys just take, take, take.
- 1:34:08SPEAKER_03: Bunch of takers.
- 1:34:10SPEAKER_03: He's not wrong.

- 1:34:13SPEAKER_03: Absolutely correct.
- 1:34:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:34:17SPEAKER_03: We are leeches on cousin Larry.
- 1:34:19SPEAKER_05: It's so true.
- 1:34:21SPEAKER_05: It is so true.
- 1:34:23SPEAKER_05: But that's okay.
- 1:34:24SPEAKER_05: Oh man.
- 1:34:25SPEAKER_05: Alright, so uh that's episode 224.
- 1:34:28SPEAKER_05: As I just dropped something on the floor, I'm not sure what it was.
- 1:34:30SPEAKER_03: I don't know what it was.
- 1:34:31SPEAKER_03: Is that that thing?
- 1:34:33SPEAKER_03: Whatever that black thing is?
- 1:34:34SPEAKER_05: No.
- 1:34:35SPEAKER_03: That's not it?
- 1:34:36SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 1:34:36SPEAKER_05: Then I have no idea.
- 1:34:37SPEAKER_05: It doesn't really matter.
- 1:34:39SPEAKER_05: I mean, look at the place.
- 1:34:40SPEAKER_05: Does it matter?
- 1:34:40SPEAKER_03: Not really, no.
- 1:34:41SPEAKER_05: No.
- 1:34:42unknown: No.
- 1:34:42SPEAKER_05: Alright, so uh that's it.
