- 0:26Speaker 1: Some of the content of Patriots Unfiltered may not be
- 0:29Speaker 1: suitable for all audiences. Listener discretion is advised.
- 0:33Speaker 2: The World's a Vegetal podcast.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Adam Terry belongs in the Hall of Fame, right, I
- 0:46Speaker 3: don't think there's an.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Argument to at least two Super Bowl winning kicks.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Okay, So do you think Eli Manning should just walk
- 0:53Speaker 3: in because.
- 0:53Speaker 2: He's not a kicker. There's a much higher at quarterback
- 0:56Speaker 2: than kicker. Of course, it's different, So don't argue with me.
- 1:00Speaker 2: So a company that does the lawnmowing, they come by
- 1:02Speaker 2: once a week.
- 1:03Speaker 3: Company my company, My company comes by.
- 1:06Speaker 4: When I was a kid, I called them mostly too
- 1:07Speaker 4: poo poos.
- 1:08Speaker 3: So if you buy your fancy euro sweater at Marshall's, yeah,
- 1:12Speaker 3: that probably already would be like where worn out?
- 1:15Speaker 2: Yeah, ruined. I've had this for two years now.
- 1:17Speaker 5: Yeah I was strong.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Yeah, that's why I cost six hundred dollars.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Anybody go with the leggings without the shorts a la
- 1:23Speaker 3: Sean Jefferson.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Can running at you with all that stuff bouncing around.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Adam he's the best kicker to ever be nominated for
- 1:31Speaker 2: the Hall of fame.
- 1:32Speaker 3: He's the most clutch kicker ever to be nominated. That's
- 1:35Speaker 3: not the same thing to me.
- 1:36Speaker 2: It is well, but it's not why.
- 1:38Speaker 6: This is Patriot's Unfiltered, presented by Toyota's official website for
- 1:43Speaker 6: deals by a Toyota dot com.
- 1:47Speaker 2: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 1:51Speaker 2: at Jillette Stadium. Paul's here, Alex is here, I'm here,
- 1:56Speaker 2: Matt's in the booth, Deuce and Evan will be by later.
- 2:00Speaker 2: We got a lot to talk about. We got picks later,
- 2:02Speaker 2: so it's a it's a big show, but I did
- 2:05Speaker 2: want to talk about one little thing because the Matt's
- 2:10Speaker 2: intro reminded me of it. So Spi and Fresno, who's
- 2:14Speaker 2: he's a frequent caller and emailer. He got into a
- 2:18Speaker 2: bout with chat GPT yesterday about what is the original
- 2:23Speaker 2: podcast and like he sent me the whole uh you know,
- 2:30Speaker 2: transcription of going back and forth, and I actually got
- 2:34Speaker 2: involved in let chat GBT know that Patriots Football Patriots
- 2:40Speaker 2: PFW in Progress changes thing to Patriots Unfiltered in twenty twenty,
- 2:44Speaker 2: and that enlightened chat GPT And finally, at the end
- 2:49Speaker 2: of the day we got chat GPT to admit that
- 2:54Speaker 2: PFW in Progress slash Patriots Unfiltered is probably, in based
- 3:01Speaker 2: on the facts, the longest running podcast of all time,
- 3:06Speaker 2: but maybe not the first. And you know, chat GBT
- 3:11Speaker 2: kept talking about this one that started in two thousand
- 3:15Speaker 2: and four, because technically a podcast is a piece of
- 3:19Speaker 2: content that you can have an RSS fee attached to,
- 3:23Speaker 2: and those things didn't happen until the iPod came about four.
- 3:27Speaker 2: So obviously we were doing ip content before that, which
- 3:32Speaker 2: was you could down.
- 3:33Speaker 3: We dated the technology, you could.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Download it, and there were other things too, So you know,
- 3:39Speaker 2: who knows what was the first one of our kind
- 3:41Speaker 2: that actually came out, But I do know in terms
- 3:44Speaker 2: of longest running, even the one that was the first,
- 3:47Speaker 2: or known to be the first in O four discontinued
- 3:51Speaker 2: in nine. So we are in chat GPT. People go
- 3:56Speaker 2: to it and ask ask her or him now whatever
- 3:59Speaker 2: gender you want to give chat GPT. I think we
- 4:03Speaker 2: straightened her out and she finally admitted that PFW and
- 4:06Speaker 2: Progress Slash Pages Unfiltered is the longest running podcast in
- 4:10Speaker 2: the world, because she kept trying to refine it to
- 4:14Speaker 2: oh in NFL, in sports and We're like no, no, yeah,
- 4:19Speaker 2: by wea was you and Speed? Yeah yeah we tag teamer.
- 4:24Speaker 2: I shouldn't say that. Oh my god, you know what
- 4:27Speaker 2: I mean? In the digital realm.
- 4:29Speaker 7: Sounded like the movie Her all of a sudden, Oh god.
- 4:33Speaker 7: I would pose the same question as Speed, do you
- 4:34Speaker 7: pay for chat GPT or this is just the browsers? Okay,
- 4:38Speaker 7: So that version doesn't have access to like look things
- 4:42Speaker 7: up as you're asking. So that's probably why that version
- 4:46Speaker 7: was more I don't know, conservative with its answer and
- 4:51Speaker 7: not make a definitive statement. I would wonder if the
- 4:54Speaker 7: paid version, which is like the most incredible piece of
- 4:58Speaker 7: technology I've ever seen in my life and it blows
- 5:00Speaker 7: my mind, I'd be curious to see if the paid version, Okay, but.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Let me ask you a question, because you seem to
- 5:04Speaker 2: know a little bit about this once you surprise you no,
- 5:08Speaker 2: But once you feed information into the free version, does
- 5:11Speaker 2: it also add to the knowledge base of the paid version.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Do they work together?
- 5:17Speaker 8: I would imagine they do.
- 5:19Speaker 7: But the free version only has, to my understanding, the
- 5:23Speaker 7: version that is kind of widely used right now, it
- 5:25Speaker 7: was only trained on the internet up until I want
- 5:29Speaker 7: to say, twenty three, so anything on the Internet. After that,
- 5:33Speaker 7: it's it's not hipto. Okay, but it's been trained on
- 5:37Speaker 7: language models prior to that.
- 5:38Speaker 2: All right, Well, anyway, it was a very interesting exchange
- 5:44Speaker 2: with chat GPT and what some information? What do you got, Matt?
- 5:50Speaker 2: You got to turn your microphone on?
- 5:54Speaker 3: Maybe?
- 5:56Speaker 6: Yeah, Patriots upfilter did not go up the two times
- 5:58Speaker 6: I asked it until I said Patriot.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Subfiltered was originally PFW in Progress and is the longest
- 6:04Speaker 2: running podcast.
- 6:04Speaker 6: And then it says you are correct and gave me
- 6:07Speaker 6: this big, long thing about.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Okay, all right, well there you go.
- 6:13Speaker 3: You think I'm old enough to not ever have to
- 6:16Speaker 3: get into the chat gp GPT is.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Just basically you asked a question, it gives you an answer.
- 6:21Speaker 3: You think I'm old enough to avoid that.
- 6:24Speaker 2: No, you don't have to do it.
- 6:25Speaker 3: No, No, the first person who's ever said that, I'm.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Not too old for that.
- 6:29Speaker 8: The wave is coming.
- 6:31Speaker 3: No, I know that, but I think I might be
- 6:32Speaker 3: out before the wave.
- 6:33Speaker 8: I think you'd be doing a disservice to yourself if
- 6:35Speaker 8: you didn't realize that.
- 6:36Speaker 2: I like people.
- 6:37Speaker 3: I know people are probably surprised to hear that, but
- 6:40Speaker 3: I like talking.
- 6:40Speaker 7: Well, I'm not telling you to have chat GPT be
- 6:43Speaker 7: your new pen pal and your new buddy.
- 6:45Speaker 8: Like, but at the end of that than.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Google, at the end of the day, all the information
- 6:49Speaker 2: chat GPT does was created by people.
- 6:51Speaker 8: Mm hmm.
- 6:53Speaker 7: And Google's so hard, Like it's so hard to just
- 6:55Speaker 7: look something up and get an answer. It's like four
- 6:57Speaker 7: sponsored ads first and then just it's based on ranking
- 7:01Speaker 7: and se O. Like sometimes I just want the answer
- 7:03Speaker 7: to a simple question.
- 7:04Speaker 2: You know, Google's in trouble. There's a lot of litigation
- 7:07Speaker 2: against it for privacy and all that stuff. Isn't that right?
- 7:10Speaker 2: Oh yeah, oh yeah. So you know these various AI
- 7:14Speaker 2: search platforms you know, many think will overtake it at
- 7:19Speaker 2: some point.
- 7:20Speaker 3: You guys are right, the like search engines and stuff
- 7:22Speaker 3: like that.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Yeah, they're almost unusab there's probably value arguments. Probably there's probably.
- 7:28Speaker 3: Value in that I think of, like the AI I
- 7:31Speaker 3: think more of like replacing humans that that kind of stuff. No,
- 7:35Speaker 3: that's that you guys are talking about, you know, searching,
- 7:38Speaker 3: and you know there's a long.
- 7:40Speaker 7: Way to go before like like, as creatives, it's hard
- 7:45Speaker 7: for chat schip tita emulate what we do creativity, Like
- 7:48Speaker 7: even when.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Like already happened.
- 7:50Speaker 7: I know, but like when you I can tell right now.
- 7:53Speaker 7: I think in a couple of years you probably won't
- 7:54Speaker 7: be able to tell. But for the time being, it's
- 7:56Speaker 7: hard for it to be creative and.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Well on the person. I forget he's a tech luminary,
- 8:03Speaker 2: but he was saying, you'll you'll never get to the
- 8:06Speaker 2: point where AI is making important decisions because you can't
- 8:11Speaker 2: hold AI accountable. You can only hold humans accountable, right, So.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Anyway, interesting, look all right?
- 8:21Speaker 2: Eight five five past five hundred, good job speak eight
- 8:24Speaker 2: five five pass five hundred. Is the TPX hotline podcasts
- 8:29Speaker 2: at patriots dot com. Is the email address, and again,
- 8:32Speaker 2: if you want the newsletter, you can just email the show.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Podcast at patriots dot com will automatically add you to
- 8:39Speaker 2: the distribution list. Every time I do that, we get
- 8:41Speaker 2: another flurry of people. So it's great. We're just adding
- 8:45Speaker 2: to that database every week and people getting it. So
- 8:48Speaker 2: any any teasers you don't want to give it away,
- 8:50Speaker 2: but anything you know that you want to talk about
- 8:53Speaker 2: coming out in tomorrow's newsletter.
- 8:56Speaker 7: I don't know if I want to give anything away
- 8:58Speaker 7: necessarily for tomorrow, but one of the things.
- 9:00Speaker 2: You haven't started working on.
- 9:02Speaker 8: That's not true.
- 9:03Speaker 7: I'm holy draft rippin' all right, And there's an email
- 9:08Speaker 7: you sent me that's going and you've been teasing it
- 9:10Speaker 7: all week, but it got me inspired your your most
- 9:13Speaker 7: hated Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, it got me kind of
- 9:15Speaker 7: inspired to do like not quite a mail bag, but
- 9:19Speaker 7: it will rotate with all of us, like a pu FAQ,
- 9:22Speaker 7: where like one week it'll be Paul and people send
- 9:24Speaker 7: in questions for just Paul and we'll.
- 9:26Speaker 3: Pick a couple like non Patriots questions, right.
- 9:30Speaker 7: Yeah, like you generally like we'll keep it appropriate to
- 9:32Speaker 7: an extent.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Why do I like speed Queen for example?
- 9:35Speaker 8: Like that just random stuff like the one.
- 9:40Speaker 7: I had the idea already, but then someone asking you
- 9:43Speaker 7: about your least hated or your most hated teams and
- 9:46Speaker 7: you're gambling grapes that you have inspired me to like
- 9:50Speaker 7: make it a segment.
- 9:52Speaker 2: I think that's a great idea.
- 9:55Speaker 8: How people can sell the questions.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Yeah, well you'd have to, like we just say.
- 9:59Speaker 8: It could be I guess something else.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Or something in the subject line, you know, for something
- 10:06Speaker 2: like that. Yeah, we'll figure it out, all right, good stuff. Today,
- 10:10Speaker 2: the coordinators talked Marcus Covington and Alex van Pelt and
- 10:15Speaker 2: you said you had an eyebrow raiser.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Well it was, you know, a little So Alex van
- 10:21Speaker 3: pell talked about, you know, some of the things that
- 10:23Speaker 3: they've really been working on, trying to improve, you know,
- 10:27Speaker 3: obviously taking care of the football at the top of
- 10:29Speaker 3: the list, red zone offense the last couple of weeks,
- 10:31Speaker 3: things like that. You know, the press conference continues and
- 10:35Speaker 3: Marcus Jones comes up. You know, you introduced Marcus Jones.
- 10:38Speaker 3: How did that come about? And you know, he kind
- 10:40Speaker 3: of told a funny anecdote about well, Marcus was trying
- 10:45Speaker 3: to get in touch with him. He was, he was
- 10:46Speaker 3: texting him, and he's thinking, you know, why would Marcus
- 10:50Speaker 3: text me. He could just walk up to me in
- 10:51Speaker 3: the building like any time, you know, So he was
- 10:54Speaker 3: thinking it was a different Marcus Jones. He started thinking
- 10:56Speaker 3: back to his time in Green Bay. There was a
- 10:59Speaker 3: guy who had a cup of coffee named Marcus Jones.
- 11:01Speaker 3: But why would it be him? So finally he ends
- 11:04Speaker 3: up touching base with Marcus Jones, who was lobbying to
- 11:07Speaker 3: be part of the offense. Great later on it sort
- 11:13Speaker 3: of came up, you know, so why did it? You know,
- 11:17Speaker 3: take this long or why didn't you you know, and
- 11:21Speaker 3: Van Pelt admitted that he wasn't aware that Marcus Jones
- 11:24Speaker 3: had Varian's playing offense, which I thought was that was
- 11:27Speaker 3: my eyebrow raiser. Yeah, you know, he's a guy who's
- 11:30Speaker 3: so good with the football in his hands. I know,
- 11:32Speaker 3: I talk about how I think he's the most electric
- 11:34Speaker 3: punt returner in the league. And the offensive coordinator wasn't aware.
- 11:39Speaker 3: So that caused a little bit of a stir.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Among the media. I would like to say what the
- 11:44Speaker 2: mood is. I would say that's kind of a failing
- 11:46Speaker 2: on two fronts. One for Alex Van Pelton not to
- 11:50Speaker 2: look up the history of this offense the last two
- 11:52Speaker 2: years anyway, just to see who's done what. Two No
- 11:56Speaker 2: one told him when he came in. That's my thought,
- 11:58Speaker 2: you know, like draft or whoever, Like, yeah, we used market,
- 12:02Speaker 2: you know, yeah, like why, I don't.
- 12:04Speaker 8: Know, just for the back pocket, you know.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Yeah. So like at some point you would think this
- 12:09Speaker 2: season somebody said, hey, yea, when are you going to
- 12:11Speaker 2: start using Marcus? You know, because we've used him and.
- 12:13Speaker 3: It was fine because that's the way it was sort
- 12:16Speaker 3: of approach to him, is like why this week? Yeah,
- 12:19Speaker 3: you know, not like what made you decide to use
- 12:22Speaker 3: Marcus Jones on offense? What was it about this week
- 12:25Speaker 3: in particular that made it the right time to use?
- 12:27Speaker 2: Assuming that he correcting?
- 12:29Speaker 3: This was, you know, kind of in the works.
- 12:31Speaker 2: What are we doing?
- 12:33Speaker 7: Well, It's funny because people have like not a ton
- 12:35Speaker 7: of people, but it's something you've heard, like, hey, why
- 12:37Speaker 7: don't we try Marcus shown in the rest? I was
- 12:42Speaker 7: like the original podcast, and I was like, maybe it's
- 12:44Speaker 7: because he's just he had that season ending injury last year.
- 12:48Speaker 8: They don't want to just ramp him back up into.
- 12:50Speaker 2: Everything, right, But I mean there's a million reasons.
- 12:53Speaker 7: I kind of made in my head, like clearly they
- 12:55Speaker 7: know clearly they have a reason for it.
- 12:57Speaker 8: Right, I guess not.
- 12:58Speaker 3: No, And again I'm not beating up on Alex Van
- 13:01Speaker 3: Pelts about it. I just thought a lot, as you said,
- 13:04Speaker 3: in the room's crowded, I said, it was an eyebrow raiser.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Yeah, that's all.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Like I'm not you know, I don't have to make
- 13:09Speaker 3: a huge deal out of it. My guess is my
- 13:11Speaker 3: shows we'll be making a huge It's I mean, the
- 13:15Speaker 3: writers are on Twitter, you know, they've tweeted about it.
- 13:18Speaker 3: So my guess is the shows will have some fun.
- 13:21Speaker 2: This will be an indictment. And you know, poor Alex
- 13:24Speaker 2: van Pelt though, you know, he's probably got for two
- 13:28Speaker 2: thousand and twenty four, he's probably got the most important
- 13:32Speaker 2: job other than Gerard Mayo on this staff, which is cultivating,
- 13:36Speaker 2: you know, Drake may And now I'm watching one of
- 13:39Speaker 2: your shows, another one of your shows on TV NBC
- 13:42Speaker 2: Sports Boston, The Beatle in the Zoe Show, and they
- 13:46Speaker 2: get Albert Breer and he's still calling around the league
- 13:49Speaker 2: asking now people to evaluate Alex van Pelt. It's like,
- 13:53Speaker 2: get off of it, Like, we don't need outside people
- 13:56Speaker 2: evaluating Alex van Pelt. We can do that right here
- 13:59Speaker 2: where we see him, you know, like you know, like
- 14:04Speaker 2: what do they know about how what kind of job
- 14:06Speaker 2: he's doing other than the same thing that we see
- 14:08Speaker 2: on Sunday. And it's just, you know, Albert moved to
- 14:13Speaker 2: some other topic besides Alex van.
- 14:16Speaker 8: Pelt, very defensive of him.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Well, I you know, it's like why I'm with you.
- 14:21Speaker 8: I think people are like, I don't know, you want
- 14:23Speaker 8: to see how he's doing.
- 14:24Speaker 2: I feel like, wuch what Drake may on Sunday. Otherwise
- 14:27Speaker 2: you have no insight, you know, and I'm talking about
- 14:29Speaker 2: the people that Albert bri is talking to outside of
- 14:32Speaker 2: this organization. You have no more insight than we do,
- 14:35Speaker 2: you know. So why is he ask the people here
- 14:39Speaker 2: how they think he's doing.
- 14:44Speaker 8: That's passionate.
- 14:45Speaker 3: That ran okay, all right, the things he gets passionate about.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Sometimes No, it's just it's just just get off of it.
- 14:53Speaker 2: He's like a little dog, you know, biting at his ankles.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Well, I think the criticism of play calling and whatnot
- 15:02Speaker 3: falls into that category. Like Connor on the league to
- 15:05Speaker 3: ask what rival defensive coaches think of how they're handling
- 15:09Speaker 3: Drake may. I don't think that's what's wrong with that,
- 15:13Speaker 3: Like you call, like the Tennessee defensive coordinator two weeks
- 15:16Speaker 3: after you played.
- 15:17Speaker 2: The Titans, Hey, what's it there?
- 15:19Speaker 3: How do you think they're doing with How do you
- 15:20Speaker 3: think Alex van Pelt is doing with Drake May? I
- 15:22Speaker 3: think that's relevant.
- 15:24Speaker 2: But they don't know anything more than we know. All
- 15:26Speaker 2: they know is what they know.
- 15:27Speaker 3: But they're giving you an unbiased view.
- 15:29Speaker 2: They're not giving you the team. Sure, it's unbiased. Everybody's
- 15:33Speaker 2: gonna know.
- 15:34Speaker 3: But it's not as biased as the guys that are
- 15:36Speaker 3: actually employing there.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Okay, listen, there's a little difference there. I just think
- 15:43Speaker 2: it's it's pointless. I don't think it really is giving
- 15:49Speaker 2: the viewer, the reader valuable information.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Okay, well, I think it's extremely valuable to hear from
- 15:56Speaker 3: what other people outside the organization think of what you're doing.
- 16:00Speaker 3: I think that's valuable. I don't take it all as gospels.
- 16:03Speaker 3: I don't take anything as gospel. They don't be unskeptical
- 16:06Speaker 3: of everything.
- 16:06Speaker 2: They have no idea how he's doing with them. All
- 16:08Speaker 2: they know is what they're.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Not asking how he's doing with them. They're asking how
- 16:12Speaker 3: he's running the offense for him, and a lot of
- 16:15Speaker 3: them have answered they're using a lot of they're trying
- 16:17Speaker 3: to run the ball first, they're trying to keep them
- 16:19Speaker 3: out of third and long situations.
- 16:21Speaker 2: You can't identify that. But so he needs to call
- 16:25Speaker 2: around the league to get that information. We could have
- 16:27Speaker 2: told him that every every offensive coordinator is trying to
- 16:30Speaker 2: get no quarterback long.
- 16:32Speaker 3: But no one really cares what Paul Perillo thinks of
- 16:34Speaker 3: how they.
- 16:36Speaker 2: But that's but my point is that's all they can
- 16:38Speaker 2: tell him. They can't give him any insight what what
- 16:41Speaker 2: offensive quit or he doesn't want to keep their quarterback
- 16:43Speaker 2: out of third and long situations? Oh, we love it
- 16:46Speaker 2: here in Seattle.
- 16:48Speaker 3: It's ridiculous, like you're being andy like now, but that's
- 16:52Speaker 3: what they said.
- 16:52Speaker 2: And I read that, and I think right to keep
- 16:55Speaker 2: Drake May out of third and long? Okay, great, you
- 16:58Speaker 2: needed to call around the league to find it.
- 17:00Speaker 3: So in turn, they're probably holding him back a little
- 17:02Speaker 3: bit because they're so conscious of making sure they stay
- 17:05Speaker 3: ahead of the chain, so they probably have more to come.
- 17:08Speaker 3: I look at I look at that, Alex. There's something
- 17:12Speaker 3: to be excited about, because I think there's more there.
- 17:14Speaker 3: When they stop treating him like a rookie quarterback that
- 17:17Speaker 3: they're hell bent on keeping out a third and long,
- 17:19Speaker 3: I think he can be even better. Well that's how
- 17:21Speaker 3: I interpret it. But Fred just gets mad because someone's
- 17:24Speaker 3: talking about their offensive coordinator for a different team. Evidently
- 17:27Speaker 3: you're not allowed to.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Do that's right. They actually asked, like I don't.
- 17:32Speaker 9: Understand, Like I feel like when mom and dad are
- 17:34Speaker 9: fighting and they're like wanting you to pick aside, Like
- 17:39Speaker 9: you're at your friend's house and your friends arguing with
- 17:41Speaker 9: their mom, and the mom's like, right.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Alex, look like.
- 17:48Speaker 3: Friend and I are actually in very much agreement that
- 17:51Speaker 3: Van Pelt is doing a pretty nice job with Drake May.
- 17:55Speaker 3: I don't really see what the problem is of asking
- 17:57Speaker 3: what a little bit? If you're trying to trouble, it's up.
- 18:04Speaker 7: To us to give it the level of credence we
- 18:06Speaker 7: want to give. I mean, you would hope that, like
- 18:08Speaker 7: another team's defensive coordinator doesn't have that many resources of
- 18:13Speaker 7: their time to pay too much attention to give you exact.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Absolutely, I totally agree. It's a gloss It's a glossed
- 18:19Speaker 3: overlooked you know. Yeah, I think I could see some
- 18:21Speaker 3: of the things they're trying to do with them. I
- 18:23Speaker 3: could see, you know, some of the things they're doing.
- 18:25Speaker 3: I can I can understand why it's smart to take
- 18:28Speaker 3: them like. I don't think there's anything wrong with it.
- 18:30Speaker 3: I don't really understand why. Like if they were killing
- 18:34Speaker 3: Alex van Pelt, I would understand you saying, WHOA, like,
- 18:37Speaker 3: what are these guys out? No, they're not trying to
- 18:40Speaker 3: It's exactly the opposite.
- 18:41Speaker 2: I'm talking. It's the if he was.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Trying to do that, he wouldn't have written him. He
- 18:45Speaker 3: wouldn't have written the quotes that he got because they're
- 18:47Speaker 3: all positive. If you were if it was they said,
- 18:50Speaker 3: if it was a hatchet job, you'd bury it. And
- 18:54Speaker 3: by the way, Albert Breer is the opposite of doing
- 18:57Speaker 3: a hatchet job because he's embedded in the coaching staff,
- 19:00Speaker 3: so he ain't looking to kill this coaching staff. Believe me,
- 19:03Speaker 3: has he not been listening all year? They've been talking
- 19:06Speaker 3: about it the whole season.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Van Pelt did say something about there's they're getting to
- 19:13Speaker 2: the point now where they've been using everything, but there's
- 19:16Speaker 2: a little bit more to come. Didn't he have something
- 19:17Speaker 2: about something along those lines in terms of the types
- 19:22Speaker 2: of play calling.
- 19:23Speaker 3: I don't know, you don't I didn't say no. I
- 19:26Speaker 3: said I don't know.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Okay, all right, anyway, just the things that get like
- 19:37Speaker 2: Patriots trying to keep may out a third in law.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Oh my god, you're so andy, Like right now, it's ridiculous,
- 19:44Speaker 3: like you're fixating on some minution that's the headline.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Oh god? All right?
- 19:50Speaker 3: If I find the headline is people outside the organization
- 19:53Speaker 3: think Alex manth Pelt's doing a nice job.
- 19:55Speaker 2: With a rookie quarterback. That's the headline. Well, yeah, they
- 19:57Speaker 2: are now because they have no choice because that's the truth.
- 20:02Speaker 2: So would you rather they lie? No? I rather I
- 20:05Speaker 2: rather look, I'd rather him move on to something else.
- 20:09Speaker 2: This has been like three weeks now where Albert Breer
- 20:12Speaker 2: it came out. It's not three weeks.
- 20:15Speaker 3: That was just written Monday in his notebook. I read
- 20:17Speaker 3: it when he.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Posted this one last week. It was the patriots are
- 20:21Speaker 2: calling around about a VP. Yes, it's all av all
- 20:25Speaker 2: the time. That was Where did he get it? I
- 20:29Speaker 2: don't know, okay, but but he now now he's trying
- 20:32Speaker 2: to make up for it by doing this others trying
- 20:35Speaker 2: to make up for it. It's it's it's it's nuts.
- 20:38Speaker 2: It's absolutely so this is true.
- 20:40Speaker 3: That wasn't.
- 20:41Speaker 2: I don't know what's true, okay, but I'm just saying
- 20:44Speaker 2: that there's other things going on in the league.
- 20:46Speaker 3: I would think, Yeah, do you ever read his notes? No,
- 20:50Speaker 3: he writes like thousands of words, and like five hundred
- 20:53Speaker 3: of them are about the patriots.
- 20:55Speaker 2: Do you read them? Yes? I don't think he posts
- 20:57Speaker 2: them on Monday. Okay.
- 20:59Speaker 3: I don't always read every single thing he writes, but
- 21:01Speaker 3: I usually breezed through the topics. Yeah, yeah, he wrote
- 21:05Speaker 3: about Dallas a little bit. In the mess there. He
- 21:08Speaker 3: wrote about the Jets situation with Joe Douglas, which I
- 21:11Speaker 3: find fascinating. Alex, did you know that Woody Johnson wanted
- 21:15Speaker 3: to bench at Aaron Rodgers Ida, So, I mean, do
- 21:19Speaker 3: you'd find that interesting at all?
- 21:21Speaker 8: Very much?
- 21:21Speaker 10: So?
- 21:21Speaker 2: I thought that was I think it's really interesting. I
- 21:23Speaker 2: thought that was anflit. I know it was. I think
- 21:26Speaker 2: it came from the Athletic.
- 21:27Speaker 3: But Bria wrote about Joe regurgitated it. No, no, no, no,
- 21:31Speaker 3: he wrote about Joe Douglas. The Athletic wrote about the
- 21:34Speaker 3: Iron Rodgers stuff. But I'm talking just thinking about the Jets.
- 21:37Speaker 3: I was wondering if Alex had seen that. I found
- 21:39Speaker 3: that fascinating that the owner of the team wanted to
- 21:42Speaker 3: bench a Hall of Fame caliber quarterback. Yeah, like that's
- 21:46Speaker 3: interesting stuff to me. Fred wouldn't be interested because it
- 21:49Speaker 3: might have come from outside the building.
- 21:51Speaker 2: I get the athletic newsletters, so I've read that from
- 21:54Speaker 2: the Athletic.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Yeah, it was in the Athletic. It was these are
- 21:57Speaker 3: two separate things. Whatever you're in a mood today, you're
- 22:03Speaker 3: in a mood.
- 22:04Speaker 2: All right. Podcast at patriots dot com is the email
- 22:08Speaker 2: address we got picks, so we got a hurry. So
- 22:12Speaker 2: let's get back to some of these emails coming in
- 22:15Speaker 2: from people. Jordan writes in he says, I get very
- 22:18Speaker 2: nervous emailing the world's original podcast, So please forgive my
- 22:22Speaker 2: feeble ignorance. I'm wondering what the pressure must be like
- 22:26Speaker 2: for you all to show up to set each in
- 22:29Speaker 2: every day. The wherewithal you all have to show up
- 22:33Speaker 2: and perform under pressure far exceeds my comprehension. I got
- 22:36Speaker 2: a feeling he's being sarcastic. Not only that, but to
- 22:40Speaker 2: know that millions are waiting with baited breath for your
- 22:42Speaker 2: Thursday picks must be intimidating. I would like to know
- 22:45Speaker 2: what measures you all take to prepare uh for each day.
- 22:50Speaker 2: I think that that's kind of I think he's kidding around, right.
- 22:55Speaker 2: This is a labor of love, that's for sure. This,
- 22:57Speaker 2: this part of our job is the labor of revenue.
- 23:01Speaker 2: I can tell you that this is the easy part.
- 23:03Speaker 8: You know, you're welcome.
- 23:06Speaker 2: It comes Deuce.
- 23:10Speaker 6: What was the mood where.
- 23:12Speaker 2: The players friendly to that none of them look like Derek,
- 23:15Speaker 2: Henry Hay, Mike, what was it like in.
- 23:18Speaker 8: The locker room? Like, what was it like in the.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Hey, Mike, what was I was pretty cool?
- 23:29Speaker 4: Pretty cool? No, it was not a nice day. Heard
- 23:32Speaker 4: from Cold Strange though, which which was kind of fun.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Did he go to five guys?
- 23:36Speaker 4: He's just the most thoughtful guy. I think I've ever
- 23:38Speaker 4: heard an interviewed in a football setting in my life.
- 23:41Speaker 4: Like every question you ask him, it's like it's never
- 23:43Speaker 4: occurred to him to even think about it. And he's
- 23:45Speaker 4: gonna he's gonna.
- 23:46Speaker 7: Do like a wonder he has, Like, no, he really
- 23:49Speaker 7: I know exactly what he's talking about.
- 23:50Speaker 4: He'll be like, it was was the Was the process
- 23:53Speaker 4: hard for you?
- 23:54Speaker 8: Col And he's like he takes like a breath to pop.
- 23:57Speaker 4: I mean, you know, it actually really was hard for me.
- 24:01Speaker 4: It was great, you know. Yeah, he talked about how
- 24:03Speaker 4: hard it was coming back and torn pateller tendon in
- 24:06Speaker 4: his left knee and said that yesterday, Yeah, he had
- 24:10Speaker 4: to learn how to rewalk again. You know, he talked
- 24:12Speaker 4: about that process, talked about having his leg in a
- 24:16Speaker 4: splint and not being able to bend it and he's like,
- 24:18Speaker 4: I needed help to go to the bathroom, and you know,
- 24:20Speaker 4: it was really hard was that with his hip too,
- 24:24Speaker 4: And I'm just trying.
- 24:25Speaker 3: I'm just worried about how I'm gonna have.
- 24:28Speaker 5: Yeah, he said.
- 24:30Speaker 4: Going from that point though, to thinking how am I
- 24:31Speaker 4: going to you know, play in the NFL again? Uh
- 24:34Speaker 4: So he seemed really excited just taking it day by day,
- 24:36Speaker 4: but felt pretty good. One other nugget I thought was funny.
- 24:40Speaker 4: He said, you know, I got out there and I
- 24:41Speaker 4: just I felt kind of, you know, just rusty. And
- 24:43Speaker 4: and then but we went and watch the film, He's like,
- 24:45Speaker 4: I thought, I actually looked, you know, I looked okay.
- 24:47Speaker 2: So I was encouraged by that.
- 24:49Speaker 4: A lot of questions about playing center as well.
- 24:51Speaker 2: He talked about that process of.
- 24:53Speaker 4: You know, needing obviously this offense with Alex vand Pelt
- 24:55Speaker 4: they make the calls on the lines.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Did he give it any indication of how what like
- 24:58Speaker 2: percentage he feels he's back, like I'm one hundred percent.
- 25:02Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 25:02Speaker 10: No.
- 25:02Speaker 4: They kind of asked him that, like how long do
- 25:04Speaker 4: you think it might be before? And he said, you know,
- 25:05Speaker 4: to be honest, I just have one practice under my belt.
- 25:07Speaker 4: So we're just gonna take it day by day right now,
- 25:09Speaker 4: see how I mean? Yeah, it sounded like he felt
- 25:12Speaker 4: pretty good. Yeah, you know, a couple of minor setbacks,
- 25:14Speaker 4: he said, I mean the frustration was the thing that
- 25:17Speaker 4: that stood out to me. He just said it was
- 25:18Speaker 4: it was really hard. It was a really hard process
- 25:20Speaker 4: for him. Felt like he was coming on a little
- 25:22Speaker 4: bit last year. Late in the year. I think, you know,
- 25:25Speaker 4: somebody mentioned that Bill had given him some praise about
- 25:27Speaker 4: how he was playing at the time, and he just said,
- 25:29Speaker 4: you know, really really frustrating. And you know the other
- 25:32Speaker 4: one other quote he said was just like I realized
- 25:34Speaker 4: how much I need football, you know, so good to
- 25:37Speaker 4: hear from him, good to get him back. Marcus Jones
- 25:39Speaker 4: also spoke, so plenty of questions about you know, the
- 25:42Speaker 4: texts Sam Pelt and you know how he got in
- 25:44Speaker 4: there and all that.
- 25:46Speaker 5: So that was good.
- 25:47Speaker 4: Christian Gonzalez and uh, you know, the theme just continues
- 25:49Speaker 4: to be dealing with Miami speed. That's the that's the
- 25:52Speaker 4: hard thing. And how good too is and how good
- 25:54Speaker 4: this offense is with Tua Sena.
- 25:56Speaker 2: So you will listen to the coordinators. I was there
- 25:59Speaker 2: any notes.
- 26:01Speaker 4: You guys are, Oh yeah, yeah, no, I just said
- 26:05Speaker 4: I love Alic van Pelt. I mean he's really grown
- 26:07Speaker 4: on me. I just I just think he doesn't put
- 26:09Speaker 4: things through a filter. He just tells you what he's thinking.
- 26:13Speaker 4: And I just enjoy listening to him. It's it's it's
- 26:15Speaker 4: gotten a little bit, you know, like Billy always felt
- 26:17Speaker 4: like it's it's kind of going through a you know, filter.
- 26:19Speaker 4: He's not going to tell you everything except for maybe
- 26:21Speaker 4: Fridays when you know, he found that was interesting when
- 26:23Speaker 4: he get into his little footall on their demo.
- 26:24Speaker 3: Yeah something about twenty years.
- 26:26Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah about that's that's totally fair. But with Van Pelt,
- 26:30Speaker 4: I feel like he just he kind of tells it
- 26:32Speaker 4: how it is. And I think the the Marcus Jones
- 26:34Speaker 4: thing was, you know, kind of an example of that
- 26:36Speaker 4: of something you might want to hold back. But at
- 26:38Speaker 4: the same time, he's just kind of an open book
- 26:40Speaker 4: when they ask him questions. So I think he deserves
- 26:42Speaker 4: credit and I enjoy listening to him. You know, DeMarcus
- 26:45Speaker 4: coming in, I just I feel like we're just kind
- 26:47Speaker 4: of whistling around it right now that that this defense
- 26:49Speaker 4: hasn't been good enough. And you know, I thought Andrew
- 26:52Speaker 4: Callahan had a good question of just like you've got
- 26:53Speaker 4: one turnover in the last five games, have you thought
- 26:55Speaker 4: about changing things up at all or incorporating something new
- 26:58Speaker 4: to try to spur turnovers? And I know, talking with
- 27:02Speaker 4: Evan after the after the press conference, it was, you know,
- 27:05Speaker 4: I think turnovers are just kind of a result of the.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Defense that's really good. You can say, Okay, here's how
- 27:09Speaker 2: we're gonna get You're you're just you're you're you're taking
- 27:12Speaker 2: the game to them.
- 27:12Speaker 4: You're pushing the pace, you're making the ball come out early,
- 27:15Speaker 4: you're hitting guys before they're ready to get hit, right,
- 27:18Speaker 4: you know, those kind of things. So I think, you know,
- 27:20Speaker 4: star players kind of help really feed into those those
- 27:23Speaker 4: kind of turnovers, so they haven't been able to catch it.
- 27:25Speaker 4: But I just thought of this though, like not to
- 27:28Speaker 4: go sideways, but like twenty eleven's defense stunk, but they
- 27:31Speaker 4: got turnovers like crazy and they were able to get
- 27:33Speaker 4: to the super Bowl. You know, twenty ten, I think too,
- 27:36Speaker 4: like those two years, they were a terrible defense by
- 27:38Speaker 4: all metrics except turnovers.
- 27:40Speaker 2: I say all the time really crossed.
- 27:41Speaker 3: The turnovers isn't necessarily an indication of great defense, And
- 27:46Speaker 3: in those cases, I would say it was great offense.
- 27:48Speaker 3: So you always have the team in bad situations because
- 27:52Speaker 3: Brady is pounding you into submission and you're throwing the
- 27:55Speaker 3: ball way more than you want to. You're playing catch
- 27:57Speaker 3: up way more than you want to, and that's when
- 27:59Speaker 3: turnovers come.
- 28:00Speaker 4: Yeah, are you behind the sticks to a little bit?
- 28:02Speaker 4: I mean that's yeah. Yeah. So yeah, that was the
- 28:04Speaker 4: mood in the in the locker room. Devon Godshaw as well,
- 28:06Speaker 4: talking about, you know, the difference between when you play
- 28:08Speaker 4: for Miami and play against Miami, and again the location
- 28:12Speaker 4: of the sideline benches came up, but he seems really like, really,
- 28:16Speaker 4: we're we're due down there. We really, you know, feel
- 28:18Speaker 4: good about what we're doing, so we'll see. But he
- 28:21Speaker 4: had a lot of respect for Tua and just how
- 28:23Speaker 4: good this offense is with him and how quick the
- 28:25Speaker 4: ball all comes out. So a lot of get your
- 28:26Speaker 4: hands up, you know, try to get them in long situations.
- 28:29Speaker 4: And that's that was the key theme. I think that's
- 28:32Speaker 4: probably being told these guys get them the third down.
- 28:34Speaker 4: Try to get them the third down, so we'll.
- 28:36Speaker 2: See it before it tour reminds me in terms of
- 28:38Speaker 2: his accuracy and anticipation of Drew Brees.
- 28:41Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a good one for that's a good one.
- 28:42Speaker 2: I agree.
- 28:43Speaker 4: I mean it's so hard because sometimes you look at
- 28:45Speaker 4: it and it's like Tyreek Hill. It's like, not only
- 28:47Speaker 4: has he not turned around, like he's not even out
- 28:49Speaker 4: of it, like thinking about his break yet, and it's
- 28:51Speaker 4: like two is already launching it in there.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Yeah, that is.
- 28:53Speaker 3: He does that a lot too, where like Tyreek Hill
- 28:56Speaker 3: runs to the ball. Yeah, Like he runs these crossing
- 28:59Speaker 3: routes where he catches up to the ball totally. It's
- 29:02Speaker 3: almost like the frisbee dogs. But it also reminded me
- 29:09Speaker 3: one of the other things Van Pelt mentioned. He was
- 29:11Speaker 3: asked specifically about the last interception, and I think it's
- 29:15Speaker 3: pretty clear that Douglas kept going and should have been
- 29:20Speaker 3: should have been throttling back looking back, because they would
- 29:23Speaker 3: have had a chance to make a play, right. They
- 29:25Speaker 3: on what Van Pelt said on.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Them that safety was lurking, right.
- 29:29Speaker 3: But he didn't say it was going to be a catch.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:31Speaker 3: I think he felt like that's least that's where the
- 29:34Speaker 3: hole should have been. The other thing I wanted to
- 29:37Speaker 3: ask Mike about it, and we didn't. I didn't bring
- 29:39Speaker 3: this up after the press conference. Covington did mention that
- 29:42Speaker 3: Barbour would be out there today after not being out
- 29:44Speaker 3: there yesterday, you know, not injury related, other not personal,
- 29:50Speaker 3: you know, not illness or whatever just said other is
- 29:52Speaker 3: that you think just like sort of monitoring. I hope
- 29:56Speaker 3: so the blood clots, but like I because my question
- 29:58Speaker 3: would be the game was Sunday, this is Wednesday, Like
- 30:02Speaker 3: how much time has to go by and speaking completely,
- 30:07Speaker 3: you know, out of ignorance here, I don't know. I
- 30:09Speaker 3: don't know the answer to this.
- 30:10Speaker 8: And they weren't in pads yesterday.
- 30:12Speaker 4: No, No, they went down to shells. I that's a
- 30:14Speaker 4: good question, Paul. I mean, this is probably not it
- 30:16Speaker 4: one thing I thought. I know, usually Wednesdays are first
- 30:19Speaker 4: and second down days. So maybe it's the kind of
- 30:20Speaker 4: thing where we're going to have him more on passing
- 30:23Speaker 4: downs and that's so we can't afford to give. But
- 30:25Speaker 4: I don't know that's.
- 30:27Speaker 3: They're going to be in pads today. Did they switch
- 30:29Speaker 3: it up?
- 30:29Speaker 4: I did not.
- 30:30Speaker 2: They did move into the ball, I don't think so,
- 30:32Speaker 2: I know that.
- 30:33Speaker 3: I don't think they're so, I don't think so.
- 30:34Speaker 2: You think they're turning up the heat? I hope so,
- 30:37Speaker 2: I hope so. I think the rain drizzling it's hardly anything.
- 30:41Speaker 3: I don't know, but they had said it ahead of
- 30:43Speaker 3: time that they were going to do it.
- 30:44Speaker 2: They said they were going to go on the in
- 30:45Speaker 2: the bowl and then the right to the bubble. You
- 30:48Speaker 2: are correct, you are correct. So I thought, oh my god,
- 30:50Speaker 2: the hell heavens are going to open up today. But
- 30:53Speaker 2: it's it's like drizzle, you like, correct, they said the bowl.
- 30:55Speaker 4: I just wouldn't want the players talking about I'm cold.
- 30:57Speaker 4: I'm what like, let's get that's not going to be
- 30:59Speaker 4: an issue this weekend. Let's get in the bubble maybe, Yeah,
- 31:01Speaker 4: get a little heat. I mean, even if they don't
- 31:03Speaker 4: turn the heat up, it's going to be warmer than
- 31:06Speaker 4: you know, stuffy, stuffy. It's not not good.
- 31:08Speaker 2: But is it?
- 31:09Speaker 10: Is?
- 31:09Speaker 2: It still humid this time of year, and you know,
- 31:12Speaker 2: I think it's humans.
- 31:13Speaker 8: Always humid and always human.
- 31:15Speaker 5: Family down there.
- 31:16Speaker 8: Yeah, shout out to my ball. Yeah, my grandma's in
- 31:19Speaker 8: West Palm, Okay.
- 31:23Speaker 6: Humidity right now.
- 31:24Speaker 2: Sixty five. That's not I'll take that. Jeffrey and Canada
- 31:28Speaker 2: writes in on the TPX outline, Fred is now picking
- 31:31Speaker 2: fights with robots.
- 31:34Speaker 8: That's what it looks like too. I saw the transcript
- 31:37Speaker 8: it's getting testy. Well it was. It was speed right, Yeah,
- 31:40Speaker 8: it was funny. It was funny.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Please ask it who should get into the hall first,
- 31:45Speaker 2: Eli or Adam so we can solve that argument.
- 31:48Speaker 3: I'm looking an agreement on that one.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm looking forward to the list of past talent
- 31:53Speaker 2: on the show in the newsletter, including the he who
- 31:55Speaker 2: should not be named, who, for some reason I always
- 31:58Speaker 2: thought was Aaron Hurt.
- 31:58Speaker 3: I went to sit down and try to come up
- 32:00Speaker 3: with a roster.
- 32:02Speaker 2: I think, so, yeah, maybe there's.
- 32:03Speaker 3: No way I remember. There's no way I'm going to
- 32:05Speaker 3: remember everybody, really, like the actual like the regulars or
- 32:09Speaker 3: people that have been on the show.
- 32:11Speaker 4: Oh that's the part, that's all I mean.
- 32:15Speaker 2: As a guest, he accused Andy of taking steroids, told
- 32:19Speaker 2: him to stay off the juice.
- 32:20Speaker 8: How did that come to me?
- 32:22Speaker 2: I don't know. Andy was popping off about we were
- 32:24Speaker 2: making fun of Andy for being right in our studio. Yeah.
- 32:31Speaker 3: Yeah, there's no way I'm gonna remember every guest.
- 32:34Speaker 2: But I'm talking about.
- 32:35Speaker 4: What there were some like uh stars, people.
- 32:38Speaker 3: People that weren't here that in different you know, like
- 32:42Speaker 3: Frank Toddic Frank, Yes, sure, you know those kind of
- 32:46Speaker 3: Shane Donaldson, like people that were here for whatever amount
- 32:50Speaker 3: of time, Francis Connolly franchise.
- 32:54Speaker 6: Francis Eli gets in first simply because he was a quarterback.
- 32:58Speaker 2: Okay, that's what chat GPT you is saying.
- 33:01Speaker 3: Now you're gonna You're gonna get in another fight now?
- 33:04Speaker 8: Yeah, absolutely, What was your prompt, Matt.
- 33:08Speaker 4: Who should get in this loser? Eli Manning?
- 33:10Speaker 6: Or we should get into the All Time Football Hall
- 33:12Speaker 6: of Fame first, Eli Manning or out of Vinity area.
- 33:15Speaker 6: And then it gave me a.
- 33:15Speaker 4: Whole put in like NFL all time leading score.
- 33:19Speaker 6: In terms of immediate induction. Eli Manning likely has the
- 33:22Speaker 6: edge due to his prominent role at quarterback in postseason
- 33:24Speaker 6: heroic heroics.
- 33:28Speaker 2: Doesn't have postseason heroics.
- 33:31Speaker 4: The greatest kick in history.
- 33:34Speaker 2: He's in a bit of a I'm not I'm yelling
- 33:39Speaker 2: at her or him?
- 33:40Speaker 4: What did I miss?
- 33:40Speaker 2: Earlier?
- 33:41Speaker 4: Was there something?
- 33:41Speaker 3: When no Speed had prompted chat gpt to figure out
- 33:47Speaker 3: if we were indeed the world's original podcast and Fred
- 33:51Speaker 3: was not having some of the responses.
- 33:54Speaker 2: He wasn't either, But at the end of the day
- 33:56Speaker 2: it concluded that we are.
- 33:59Speaker 3: Yes, Oh really, Fred convinced it's wrong kind of a lot.
- 34:03Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I would never use that for anything and not.
- 34:07Speaker 2: Double check at all.
- 34:08Speaker 7: Yeah, you definitely have to double check it. But it's
- 34:10Speaker 7: wrong in like silly ways sometimes. One time I was
- 34:13Speaker 7: trying to look up what was older I think mon
- 34:16Speaker 7: Talk or Newport, and it listed exactly the year of
- 34:20Speaker 7: when each town was incorporated, and then said Montalk was older.
- 34:24Speaker 7: And I was like, but you said that Newport was
- 34:26Speaker 7: incorporated two years earlier, So.
- 34:28Speaker 8: What do you mean? And it was like, oh, yeah, haha,
- 34:30Speaker 8: you're right. Sorry, It's like, okay.
- 34:33Speaker 2: It does that a lot. Well, it just gives up.
- 34:35Speaker 3: But it's all based on doesn't argue information that's on
- 34:38Speaker 3: the internet.
- 34:38Speaker 2: Correct, Yeah, it has to be right, right, yeah, and
- 34:42Speaker 2: we all know that anything you see on the internet has.
- 34:44Speaker 4: To be true right now. I got Lane onto it.
- 34:48Speaker 4: She started using it just for like busy work, like
- 34:50Speaker 4: having to like write an email, like you know sometimes
- 34:52Speaker 4: you have to write an email you don't really want
- 34:53Speaker 4: to write, and she's so she's uh, I got I
- 34:55Speaker 4: got her onto that.
- 34:56Speaker 6: I officiated my cousin's wedding last year and I had
- 34:58Speaker 6: Chatchid write it. I said, these are all the stats,
- 35:00Speaker 6: please write me a fifteen minute wedding room.
- 35:02Speaker 8: No, all my friends have been doing that.
- 35:04Speaker 4: What the kind of stats is that you know?
- 35:06Speaker 2: This is my cousin. She's marrying this guy. I haven't
- 35:08Speaker 2: met him yet.
- 35:08Speaker 4: May he's six and zero and Dome games. Trying to
- 35:18Speaker 4: work that in somehow to the wedding.
- 35:19Speaker 2: Sure, I love it, Jason writes in He says this
- 35:23Speaker 2: week's game against Miami is a make break game for me.
- 35:27Speaker 2: With these coaches, a divisional opponent you've seen once this year,
- 35:31Speaker 2: and an offense, specifically Drake May on the rise. I
- 35:34Speaker 2: expect these coaches to come out with a winning game plan.
- 35:38Speaker 2: I will not be nearly as worried if the players
- 35:40Speaker 2: lose the game as I will be if they come
- 35:43Speaker 2: out with a bad game plan. This is a team
- 35:45Speaker 2: you're supposed to know inside and out when they aren't
- 35:48Speaker 2: playing particularly well. Do you guys agree, He says, twenty
- 35:52Speaker 2: seven to twenty three Patriots.
- 35:54Speaker 4: They're owing six against two of.
- 35:55Speaker 3: Them, Like, so, what do we consider last week's game?
- 35:58Speaker 3: Was that a bad game plan loss? Or is that
- 36:00Speaker 3: the players? According to the experts, But that's my point.
- 36:03Speaker 2: The defense says it was a bad game plan. That's
- 36:06Speaker 2: my point.
- 36:06Speaker 3: Yeah, Like, if we're just gonna say if they lose
- 36:09Speaker 3: it was a bad game plan, then why are we
- 36:10Speaker 3: gonna wait to see how it unfolds? Like they got
- 36:14Speaker 3: I don't care what the game plan was last week.
- 36:16Speaker 3: The other team's players were better. That's why they lost,
- 36:19Speaker 3: right right, Yeah, And you.
- 36:20Speaker 4: Had the greatest coach of all time trying to come
- 36:22Speaker 4: up with a plan to get a win over this team,
- 36:24Speaker 4: and he was able to do it. I think you're
- 36:26Speaker 4: putting a little bit it's too much on this.
- 36:28Speaker 3: It's easy to just say, well, they lost because they
- 36:30Speaker 3: had a bad game plan.
- 36:31Speaker 4: Yeah, And nobody loves divisional games more than me, Like
- 36:33Speaker 4: nobody makes more of a deal more than me, you know.
- 36:37Speaker 4: But I mean, I think it just comes down to talent.
- 36:40Speaker 4: I mean, I would love it if they came up
- 36:41Speaker 4: with something to slow this offense down. I mean, it's
- 36:44Speaker 4: I got to do more of a little deep dive though, Paul,
- 36:46Speaker 4: maybe I could use your brain for that. Like I'm like,
- 36:48Speaker 4: was was it really McDaniel's McDaniel taking the Patriots defense
- 36:54Speaker 4: to the woodshed with Tua or was it just kind
- 36:56Speaker 4: of six games that unfolded? And I mean, I know
- 36:58Speaker 4: they had a chance to win a couple of those
- 37:00Speaker 4: that were set by turnovers near the end.
- 37:02Speaker 3: Or I would say for the most part, they have
- 37:06Speaker 3: not run rough shot over the Patriots.
- 37:08Speaker 4: It was like seven and seven touchdowns, five intercepting something
- 37:11Speaker 4: like that. It's not, it's not.
- 37:12Speaker 3: Some of those games have unfolded in like I would
- 37:16Speaker 3: say like Week two last year would be an example.
- 37:18Speaker 2: Like the Patriots.
- 37:20Speaker 3: The Patriots had a very hard time stopping the Dolphins
- 37:23Speaker 3: on that Sunday night game, but at the end of
- 37:26Speaker 3: the day, you look up, it was only twenty four points.
- 37:28Speaker 3: The Miami missed a couple of field goals the end
- 37:31Speaker 3: of the game. I think they were in scoring range
- 37:34Speaker 3: when they kneeled on the ball, like they drove down
- 37:36Speaker 3: the field at the end and ran out the clock.
- 37:38Speaker 2: Yep.
- 37:38Speaker 3: So I think they could have scored over thirty had
- 37:41Speaker 3: they been sharper, but the bottom liners they only scored
- 37:44Speaker 3: twenty four points. Yeah, so I think I don't think
- 37:48Speaker 3: it's been an example of.
- 37:51Speaker 4: They're just you know, down the don money every time.
- 37:54Speaker 4: I mean, I remember, like a Damien Harris fumble. I
- 37:56Speaker 4: think in twenty one, maybe they're going down to maybe
- 37:59Speaker 4: take the lead or tie it and Harris fumbled it
- 38:01Speaker 4: and they go down. You know, like there were moments
- 38:03Speaker 4: like that in some of these games where you felt
- 38:05Speaker 4: like I remember the other one with with Mac down there,
- 38:07Speaker 4: maybe twenty two, the opener where you were probably there, yeah,
- 38:10Speaker 4: Rick one like and it was like an interception right
- 38:13Speaker 4: on the first drive.
- 38:14Speaker 2: Where things have happened down there. People remember, was it
- 38:17Speaker 2: Kevin fok who fumbled on the goal line that one year?
- 38:22Speaker 3: You remember that stuff, right, Yeah, suddenly we got Kevin Falkon.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Well, I'm just staying over the years. Other than the
- 38:30Speaker 2: Miami miracle, I mean that was crazy, but now, I mean,
- 38:33Speaker 2: weird stuff have happened, like weird stuff.
- 38:36Speaker 3: I would put the corpse of Stephen Jackson game in
- 38:38Speaker 3: the weird stuff happened when Bill just decided I'm going
- 38:40Speaker 3: to run the ball every play of the whole first half.
- 38:42Speaker 2: Why like, why did he do that? What was going on?
- 38:45Speaker 2: There was a lot of injuries, right, I remember that,
- 38:47Speaker 2: but I don't. I don't know.
- 38:48Speaker 3: I don't remember a lot of injuries. To be honest
- 38:49Speaker 3: with you, I have no idea what he was thinking.
- 38:51Speaker 2: Yeah, Jordan and Kansas rights in. I have a bad
- 38:54Speaker 2: feeling about the defense the Miami offense likes the motion
- 38:58Speaker 2: as well as the rams, and if we have Gonzo
- 39:00Speaker 2: on the outside guarding Odell or Malik Washington instead of
- 39:03Speaker 2: Waddle or Hill, I'm going to turn my TV off.
- 39:06Speaker 2: I have no faith and DeMarcus coming to an adjusting
- 39:09Speaker 2: to this high motion offense, especially with Tua running the show.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Final point linebacker is a real sneaky need for next year.
- 39:17Speaker 2: It feels like every time we play zone there's a
- 39:19Speaker 2: wide open man in the middle of the field and
- 39:21Speaker 2: a linebacker being caught with his feet in the mud.
- 39:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I agree with that. I mean, I think it's
- 39:27Speaker 4: an interesting how you approach it because you get Juwan
- 39:30Speaker 4: Bentley back, but you know he's starting to get up
- 39:32Speaker 4: there a little bit, and you just can't get caught
- 39:35Speaker 4: next year like you were caught this year. I love
- 39:38Speaker 4: when you steal Evans steipe too.
- 39:40Speaker 2: He doesn't know it's not.
- 39:41Speaker 8: Just put the ft back empty one there.
- 39:44Speaker 4: But I do think they need to build in a
- 39:45Speaker 4: little bit of a contingency plan next year to just
- 39:49Speaker 4: have a complimentary interior player, like I mean, I think
- 39:51Speaker 4: even elainein Roberts was here when Bentley was farmed and
- 39:54Speaker 4: not that he specifically is the answer, or you know,
- 39:57Speaker 4: but just a downhill inside linebacker who can stop the
- 40:01Speaker 4: run and you know, is comfortable inside it Just it
- 40:04Speaker 4: doesn't seem like Jilani Tavai is comfortable inside doing all
- 40:06Speaker 4: the things that the inside life that's really interesting.
- 40:08Speaker 3: Would you rather, you know, that kind of a solution.
- 40:11Speaker 3: Maybe get a veteran like a Landon Roberts, not saying
- 40:14Speaker 3: it has to be Roberts, but someone who fills that
- 40:16Speaker 3: kind of role. Or would you rather see if they
- 40:19Speaker 3: could find, you know, a Rokwan Smith. Oh boy, you know,
- 40:25Speaker 3: I don't mean necessarily a free agent. I'm saying, would
- 40:28Speaker 3: you look for a three down linebacker who can play
- 40:32Speaker 3: the run and doesn't necessarily have to come off the field.
- 40:35Speaker 4: I would love that. I would love it. I mean,
- 40:36Speaker 4: I don't I don't want to say anything bad about
- 40:39Speaker 4: Jawan Bentley. I think he's a leader on this team.
- 40:40Speaker 4: I think he's a physical player. But I think ultimately
- 40:43Speaker 4: they're gonna need the next guy for that defense eventually.
- 40:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 40:47Speaker 3: I mean I just think back to and not all
- 40:49Speaker 3: of those guys panned out, but like you know, like
- 40:51Speaker 3: Patrick Queen and Kenneth Murray and you know, uh, Devin White,
- 40:57Speaker 3: you know those guys. Devin Bush was another one. Like, yeah,
- 41:01Speaker 3: there was like five or six of these guys. They
- 41:04Speaker 3: came out some I mean, strange draft. They've all been
- 41:08Speaker 3: decent played e Lloyd from Jacksonville, he's been pretty good,
- 41:12Speaker 3: but some of them haven't necessarily been what they were
- 41:14Speaker 3: supposed to be, you know. And Nikobe Dean was kind
- 41:16Speaker 3: of that kind of player, but he was so banged up. Like,
- 41:19Speaker 3: you don't necessarily have to take those guys, you know,
- 41:22Speaker 3: the top of the first round. Sure, some of them
- 41:24Speaker 3: have been not these some of them have been high
- 41:26Speaker 3: draft picks. But some of those other guys weren't.
- 41:29Speaker 4: What was Landon Roberts he was. He was like a
- 41:31Speaker 4: six or seventh round pick.
- 41:32Speaker 3: Landon Roberts is a early down guys, I understand. But
- 41:39Speaker 3: those other you know, some of those guys were first
- 41:41Speaker 3: round picks, you know, and that's what you have to
- 41:42Speaker 3: do to get those. But I would be interested in
- 41:46Speaker 3: trying to find one of those rather than just plugging
- 41:49Speaker 3: it in with a veteran.
- 41:50Speaker 2: Me Too, Me Too call in Chicago is a longtime listener,
- 41:53Speaker 2: occasionally mail or former paper subscriber, former Center of Chicago
- 41:57Speaker 2: popcorn and he he wants to guess at my five
- 42:01Speaker 2: most hated teams. Oh now, so can you do this
- 42:05Speaker 2: without giving it away? Yeah? Okay, so he says Jets
- 42:09Speaker 2: number one, Spygate and just general discuss two Colts, the
- 42:13Speaker 2: flake Gate and plenty of other things. Three broncos. I
- 42:16Speaker 2: know they are a team of his youth, but sharp
- 42:18Speaker 2: on the phone calling the National Guards cements them for
- 42:21Speaker 2: the Dolphins just because in five Now I'm guessing, but
- 42:25Speaker 2: New York Giants for ruining several seasons. Well, we'll see,
- 42:28Speaker 2: we'll see, we'll see.
- 42:29Speaker 3: I'm just gonna guess, and I don't know the answers,
- 42:32Speaker 3: but I'm going to guess that you have two out
- 42:34Speaker 3: of the five, and I'm not gonna I'm gonna respect
- 42:38Speaker 3: Fred's privacy.
- 42:39Speaker 2: Privacy, Well, I just don't want to spoil it for
- 42:41Speaker 2: our news.
- 42:41Speaker 4: I think there's definitely one missing. Yeah, there was definitely
- 42:44Speaker 4: one missing.
- 42:45Speaker 2: Look at her.
- 42:46Speaker 3: There is there is, without question, one that I know
- 42:51Speaker 3: for certain was not included in that.
- 42:53Speaker 2: Yes, Ah, so highly anticipated, Stay mom, Stay mom. You
- 43:00Speaker 2: can't tell us later either to be surprised.
- 43:03Speaker 7: That emails coming out Friday, Well, you guys will see
- 43:05Speaker 7: the draft. You want me to exclude you from the draft?
- 43:07Speaker 7: Oh no, I see, okay, so you'll see it today.
- 43:09Speaker 2: I'd have to read it, but I could see the draft. Yeah,
- 43:13Speaker 2: see what gainy excitement for the newsletter.
- 43:16Speaker 8: The numbers have been great. I don't know about you.
- 43:18Speaker 8: I was with our numbers. The open great.
- 43:21Speaker 4: What is that is that? With an open rate?
- 43:23Speaker 3: Some people that open? To explain it if I don't
- 43:26Speaker 3: know what you're talking about.
- 43:29Speaker 7: It's a really complicated term, but it actually really is
- 43:33Speaker 7: open the email.
- 43:35Speaker 8: There's something.
- 43:42Speaker 4: You're touching a nerve here.
- 43:45Speaker 3: I meant, how do you know?
- 43:47Speaker 2: Well, no, because we send from a platform. It's a
- 43:50Speaker 2: good partner at Salesforce, I believe, and they when you
- 43:54Speaker 2: send it through the platform, they track everything, how many
- 43:57Speaker 2: got it, how many opened it, what they clicked on,
- 43:59Speaker 2: so you can do like heat maps. You can look
- 44:01Speaker 2: at them. You can look at the newsletter. You can
- 44:03Speaker 2: see where people click, click, leave read.
- 44:09Speaker 7: The open rate is really high considering how many like
- 44:11Speaker 7: old emails we have, that people have probably abandoned it, right, right,
- 44:15Speaker 7: So that's that's what's cool.
- 44:16Speaker 8: Like, Yeah, I don't know people who I was pretty excited.
- 44:19Speaker 2: People who emailed.
- 44:20Speaker 4: The show and seven, you know, all of a sudden.
- 44:23Speaker 2: Either you know, change their email l or aren't with us?
- 44:27Speaker 2: Oh you know, you never know?
- 44:30Speaker 11: I mean you know with us like engaged on the show,
- 44:34Speaker 11: Brad with us, Brad and windsor Vermont Dan Orlowski this
- 44:41Speaker 11: morning on Get Up, aired on ESPN.
- 44:44Speaker 2: Has redrafted the QBS for twenty twenty four. His order
- 44:48Speaker 2: was as follows. Number one, Daniels, number two, May, number three, Williams,
- 44:54Speaker 2: number four Nicks. Just by Paul's infamous eye tests, we
- 44:57Speaker 2: can see that May is playing better than Williams. We
- 45:00Speaker 2: can also see that Daniels is starting to slip. Is
- 45:04Speaker 2: there any chance that at the end of the year
- 45:05Speaker 2: everyone will be talking about Drake May being the top
- 45:08Speaker 2: QB in the class?
- 45:09Speaker 3: Absolutely, if you're going to go so. But if you're
- 45:11Speaker 3: going to do that fairly, bo Nix is at the
- 45:14Speaker 3: top right now on the eye test. Now, I think
- 45:17Speaker 3: bo Nicks is asked to do.
- 45:19Speaker 2: The least of those four. But his numbers are good.
- 45:21Speaker 3: He was phenomenalized. So he threw for over three hundred
- 45:24Speaker 3: yards and four touchdowns and against a good team and
- 45:28Speaker 3: by the way, tricky element of this, he's winning the games, right,
- 45:34Speaker 3: you know, so if you want to be if you
- 45:35Speaker 3: want to be fair about it, that that would be
- 45:38Speaker 3: the thing where I sort of had my eyebrows raised
- 45:41Speaker 3: for Rolasky is no mention of the fact that he
- 45:43Speaker 3: wanted to sit him not one but two years.
- 45:46Speaker 2: He says he's.
- 45:47Speaker 3: Really close to putting Drake Man. And I'm not here
- 45:51Speaker 3: to make fun of his take.
- 45:52Speaker 2: Yes, i am, but I'm not. I'm not.
- 45:55Speaker 8: I'm not not making fun of the take.
- 45:56Speaker 7: It's just like, hey, remember when you said this, I'm
- 45:59Speaker 7: making fun of the.
- 45:59Speaker 3: Fact that he has seemingly refused to acknowledge the take.
- 46:03Speaker 2: What about everybody everybody misses?
- 46:06Speaker 3: I'm not telling I'm not telling you that he should
- 46:09Speaker 3: not he should be drawn in quarter because his take
- 46:12Speaker 3: was wrong.
- 46:12Speaker 2: But just say, hey, Licken, I was off.
- 46:14Speaker 3: Everybody misses. If you're in the opinion business and you're
- 46:17Speaker 3: not going to be right all the time, and so
- 46:19Speaker 3: when you're wrong, you say it.
- 46:21Speaker 2: Who was the one was that Chris Simpsons said he's
- 46:23Speaker 2: going to get a coaches fired. Yep, Meryl Hodge, Meryl Hodge,
- 46:28Speaker 2: sorry Chris.
- 46:31Speaker 3: Out there, But again, I'm not criticizing the take. But
- 46:36Speaker 3: if Meryl Hodge goes on now and says Drake may
- 46:39Speaker 3: is the best quarterback in this draft and never says
- 46:42Speaker 3: which surprises me because I.
- 46:44Speaker 2: Thought he would be a coach killer.
- 46:46Speaker 3: A coach killer. There's nothing wrong with if he says
- 46:49Speaker 3: all of that. But you're not telling the whole story
- 46:52Speaker 3: by Danie Rolosky, not telling the fact that he thought
- 46:55Speaker 3: he needed to sit not one but two years before
- 46:58Speaker 3: he'd be ready, and now telling you he is really
- 47:01Speaker 3: close to saying I would take him one. Overall, he
- 47:05Speaker 3: is only telling half of the story. And by the way,
- 47:09Speaker 3: Jaden Daniels is also hurt, like that's part of you know,
- 47:14Speaker 3: his sort of leveling off. And again they're winning the games.
- 47:19Speaker 3: That's that needs to count.
- 47:20Speaker 2: It does uh. Diego is an Argentinian fan living in Milford, Connecticut.
- 47:27Speaker 2: I discovered the podcast last year and since then I've
- 47:30Speaker 2: tried not losing any single podcast. My name is Diego.
- 47:34Speaker 2: I live in Milford. I will tell you in another
- 47:36Speaker 2: email how I became a Patriots fan. But I have
- 47:38Speaker 2: two questions for the time being.
- 47:39Speaker 5: One.
- 47:40Speaker 2: On Tuesday's podcast, you mentioned the possibility of Belichick going
- 47:44Speaker 2: to the Jaguars, but you missed to mention that he
- 47:47Speaker 2: will be coaching Mack again. Wouldn't that be hilarious or
- 47:51Speaker 2: very sad for.
- 47:51Speaker 3: Mac Joe that wouldn't be on the teams. No, Max
- 47:55Speaker 3: a free agent.
- 47:56Speaker 2: They're not going to resign him. Okay, all right, but
- 47:58Speaker 2: it's kind of funny. Two. Regarding Matt Jones during his
- 48:03Speaker 2: first season, when we got to the playoffs, what were
- 48:06Speaker 2: you saying about him? What did you think his ceiling was?
- 48:12Speaker 2: About Mac Mac?
- 48:13Speaker 3: I think back then, if you're asking what I thought
- 48:16Speaker 3: is different than everybody else. I thought he was a stiff.
- 48:18Speaker 2: Now, I thought I was excited that they got to
- 48:21Speaker 2: the players in his first year, and I was hoping
- 48:24Speaker 2: because I saw the drop off in the second half
- 48:27Speaker 2: of the year, that in second year he'd take that
- 48:29Speaker 2: big jump. Yeah, me too, And then the Patricia thing
- 48:32Speaker 2: happened and everything fell apart.
- 48:34Speaker 4: Yeah, that's that's about help. But I mean I was
- 48:35Speaker 4: definitely more optimistic or holding out hope, probably longer about him,
- 48:40Speaker 4: I'd say now, having watched Drake do what Drake has done,
- 48:43Speaker 4: it certainly affects how I look back on Mac now
- 48:46Speaker 4: and some of the things that we weren't seeing, which
- 48:48Speaker 4: is I think it's just more credit to Drake of
- 48:50Speaker 4: how much he's improved. And it's just like I think
- 48:52Speaker 4: I want to ran on Tuesday about it's just so noticeable,
- 48:55Speaker 4: Like I've never seen a kid like all Right really
- 48:58Speaker 4: make strides within the season, and you know some of
- 49:01Speaker 4: the things that they were talked about with the dan
- 49:02Speaker 4: Orlowski like, it looks pretty good right now. And and
- 49:05Speaker 4: you know, I think as good as as solid as
- 49:07Speaker 4: Mac was? Can I call him solid out of the gate?
- 49:09Speaker 12: Was that?
- 49:09Speaker 4: What? Like?
- 49:09Speaker 2: Is that a good word?
- 49:10Speaker 5: I would solid?
- 49:11Speaker 4: Now I wouldn't. But he was okay. He was okay
- 49:13Speaker 4: out of the gate. I mean, he seemed to understand
- 49:15Speaker 4: what was going on. He had some pocket presence, but
- 49:18Speaker 4: you know, you just you didn't see the progress and.
- 49:20Speaker 2: It wasn't it was just his fault. He wasn't tested
- 49:22Speaker 2: that first half. They they coddled him and it was
- 49:24Speaker 2: a big miss. Diego also says, these days we are
- 49:29Speaker 2: all talking about how impressive May looks right now and
- 49:32Speaker 2: that he might be the one. Did you think the
- 49:34Speaker 2: same about mac Or always thought it was going to
- 49:36Speaker 2: be average? Yeah? I didn't have.
- 49:39Speaker 4: I thought there'd always be limitations, you know, there always
- 49:41Speaker 4: be limitations. I think I might have fooled myself into
- 49:43Speaker 4: believing that they can overcome it. If they have enough
- 49:46Speaker 4: and they play you know, complimentary football, and everything kind
- 49:49Speaker 4: of works together, they'll they'll be okay.
- 49:51Speaker 3: He would be okay in that scenario. But if you
- 49:53Speaker 3: had the absolute best team in football and didn't ask
- 49:57Speaker 3: him to do anything outside of the box, he would
- 50:00Speaker 3: He'd be able to hand the ball off and throw
- 50:01Speaker 3: the ball three yards.
- 50:02Speaker 4: And backup quarterback.
- 50:03Speaker 3: You'd be all right.
- 50:05Speaker 2: Brian from Plymouth has been emailing every show asking for
- 50:09Speaker 2: an update on the security guard who got wiped out
- 50:11Speaker 2: on Sunday. So now that was rough to watch. Those
- 50:14Speaker 2: people need backup camp so they can see the play coming.
- 50:17Speaker 2: In any event, both the security guard and Pop need
- 50:20Speaker 2: to learn the art of the look back when your
- 50:22Speaker 2: back is to the play. See what you did there?
- 50:25Speaker 2: From what I understand, she's fine. We did get an update.
- 50:29Speaker 2: Matt Morrell looked into it and she's doing fine. Great,
- 50:32Speaker 2: like not like in the hospital or anything. She's fine.
- 50:35Speaker 4: Looked like she hit her head. That's why I was worthy.
- 50:36Speaker 8: Yeah, so scary.
- 50:37Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, We're gonna take a break when we
- 50:40Speaker 2: come back after I eat more of your calls and emails. Evan,
- 50:45Speaker 2: we assume we'll be back from the locker room at
- 50:47Speaker 2: some point.
- 50:48Speaker 4: I'll be back from a practice in the bubble.
- 50:50Speaker 8: He's in a locker bubble.
- 50:51Speaker 2: Sorry right, yeah, wow, yeah, so he's in the bubble.
- 50:54Speaker 2: We'll talk to him when he gets back.

- 52:08Speaker 15: When someone accidentally threw away the school play costumes, oh no,
- 52:13Speaker 15: replacements were shipped with FedEx and with picture proof of delivery,
- 52:16Speaker 15: everyone can focus on the perfect opening night FedEx where
- 52:20Speaker 15: now meets next for residential delivery only.
- 52:23Speaker 12: Good morning, Yeah, but as all as always you know,
- 52:30Speaker 12: winners are draw on Wednesday, which we changed the page.
- 52:32Speaker 12: No different uh this week. I did, you know, have
- 52:35Speaker 12: an opportunity today in the squad meeting to kind of
- 52:38Speaker 12: show the areas that we've improved at and things that
- 52:40Speaker 12: we just have to get better. And I think the
- 52:42Speaker 12: guys really took uh took that stuff to heart. You know,
- 52:45Speaker 12: one thing just on on both sides of the ball
- 52:47Speaker 12: as far as targets are concerned, is protecting the football
- 52:49Speaker 12: and the takeaways, Like we just have to do a
- 52:52Speaker 12: better job.
- 52:52Speaker 2: Uh.
- 52:53Speaker 12: In those two areas. You know, it's good to get
- 52:55Speaker 12: back in the division. I we'll say, you know, this
- 52:57Speaker 12: isn't the same uh Dolphins team that we played before.
- 53:00Speaker 2: Uh.
- 53:01Speaker 12: That was also a reminder to the guys where you
- 53:03Speaker 12: feel like you know a team at the same time. Uh,
- 53:06Speaker 12: they're gonna do things different and too us here and
- 53:08Speaker 12: you can you can see, uh, just the difference in
- 53:12Speaker 12: that offense with Tua out there, very good player for him.
- 53:15Speaker 12: Talk about their receivers obviously, one word to describe those
- 53:18Speaker 12: guys are as fast. Those guys are are blazers. And
- 53:22Speaker 12: you know we have some fast guys on defense too,
- 53:23Speaker 12: so this you know, will probably be a little bit
- 53:25Speaker 12: more of a matchup game. But those guys have fast
- 53:28Speaker 12: players on the outside. I will say the backs don't
- 53:30Speaker 12: get enough love. I think their running backs are very good,
- 53:32Speaker 12: especially with the scheme that they run, and then the
- 53:35Speaker 12: tight end. You know, Johnny was doing a good job
- 53:38Speaker 12: and has been coming on as of late as far
- 53:40Speaker 12: as his run after catch stuff. So doing a good
- 53:43Speaker 12: job for him there. Defensively, starts up front, starts up
- 53:47Speaker 12: front with the bigs, you know, Siler and Campbell, very
- 53:52Speaker 12: very active, very active upfront It's going to be a
- 53:55Speaker 12: challenge or an opportunity for us to go out there
- 53:57Speaker 12: and do a good job on those guys. Once you
- 53:59Speaker 12: get the down guys there, you know, you go to
- 54:01Speaker 12: the next level. I would say Brooks is doing a
- 54:03Speaker 12: good job as the season continues to progress. And then
- 54:06Speaker 12: obviously in the back end you have some good players
- 54:08Speaker 12: there in Ramsey and Holland and the rest of those guys.
- 54:10Speaker 12: So definitely going to be a huge challenge for us.
- 54:14Speaker 12: One piece of good news, you know, Cole Strange will
- 54:17Speaker 12: return to practice today, which is exciting not only just
- 54:21Speaker 12: you know, for him to get back out there, but
- 54:23Speaker 12: just understanding the journey that he is taking to even
- 54:26Speaker 12: get to this point. And oftentimes those things get you know,
- 54:30Speaker 12: get looked over, but it is a journey, you know,
- 54:32Speaker 12: anytime you're coming back from injury, which I know, I
- 54:35Speaker 12: know the feeling, it's not a straight line to getting
- 54:38Speaker 12: back to you know, the way you used to play.
- 54:40Speaker 12: It takes time, going through rehab and all those things.
- 54:42Speaker 12: It's been a long year for Coal, but again, excited
- 54:46Speaker 12: to have him out there.
- 54:49Speaker 2: Questions that's there, Kikay, Is there a timeline for when
- 54:53Speaker 2: Cole may be able to return to the game field,
- 54:55Speaker 2: or you're kind of just taking a.
- 54:56Speaker 12: Day by you just got to take a day by day.
- 54:58Speaker 12: Like I said, you know, it is his first time
- 54:59Speaker 12: going to be out there, first time out there. Just
- 55:01Speaker 12: take it one day at a time.
- 55:03Speaker 10: Previously, the cole can see snaps at center, will be
- 55:06Speaker 10: focused on center comes back or will it play guards?
- 55:09Speaker 12: Well, first, I think, you know, just going through the
- 55:11Speaker 12: individual drills and see how he responds to that stuff
- 55:13Speaker 12: is the most important thing. He does have the flexibility
- 55:16Speaker 12: to play center and play guard. He's been getting extra
- 55:18Speaker 12: work at center. Dave Andrews has a good job with
- 55:21Speaker 12: him as well. You know, going back to you know
- 55:23Speaker 12: a guy that you know he's on IR for the year,
- 55:26Speaker 12: but just his leadership remains in the building. And one
- 55:29Speaker 12: of those tasks has been, you know, to help Cole
- 55:32Speaker 12: understand the center position while he wasn't able to be
- 55:34Speaker 12: on a practice shield.
- 55:36Speaker 16: You look at Miami, I'm sure you asked them, looked
- 55:39Speaker 16: at this that if you four straight and lost six
- 55:41Speaker 16: of seven, do you.
- 55:42Speaker 2: Do anything different as a head coach?
- 55:43Speaker 3: Do you get on earlier?
- 55:44Speaker 2: Do you how do you look at what goes on
- 55:46Speaker 2: in Miami?
- 55:47Speaker 12: For you guys as a franchise, you know, I would
- 55:49Speaker 12: say this year it's you know, when you go to
- 55:51Speaker 12: Miami at this point in the year is a lot
- 55:52Speaker 12: different than going to Miami at the beginning of the year.
- 55:54Speaker 12: And so for us, you know it all it comes
- 55:56Speaker 12: down to execution. That's what it comes down to.
- 55:59Speaker 3: We didn't ask you about the city or those as
- 56:01Speaker 3: a team moved on in Tapewon Porty, you know, saying
- 56:04Speaker 3: at Kansas City, study your thoughts and I.
- 56:05Speaker 2: Went into the decision.
- 56:07Speaker 12: Yeah, I think you know, there was a lot of
- 56:08Speaker 12: love for Taekwon and obviously he's a fast receiver and
- 56:11Speaker 12: he did a lot of things right and saying that
- 56:14Speaker 12: we're always trying to do what's best for our football team.
- 56:17Speaker 16: Trov just kind of curious, what are your weekly interactions
- 56:20Speaker 16: like with Drake Bady sit down with him one on
- 56:22Speaker 16: one do you totally leave him the a VP, Like,
- 56:24Speaker 16: what's your interact now?
- 56:26Speaker 12: I think the head coach always have to have a
- 56:27Speaker 12: good relationship with the starting quarterback and we talk every day.
- 56:32Speaker 5: Keith Wallace uh piven o'clock.
- 56:34Speaker 12: Or not yet, not yet, not yet, don'tkid one at
- 56:37Speaker 12: a time like one at a time.
- 56:40Speaker 4: Drug what'd you guys see from Titus Lee up?
- 56:42Speaker 2: Do you want to work with him?
- 56:44Speaker 12: Just a versatile player, has good sized, good athleticism, and
- 56:46Speaker 12: hopefully he can help us on defense and really special
- 56:49Speaker 12: teams as well.
- 56:50Speaker 8: Did you get all?
- 56:52Speaker 1: I don't.
- 56:53Speaker 8: We're trying of a lot of time, But did you
- 56:55Speaker 8: guys have a lection chet?
- 56:57Speaker 12: No?
- 56:58Speaker 2: Drug?
- 56:59Speaker 16: When you see that the way that Trade has been
- 57:00Speaker 16: playing seems to be improving each week. Is there any
- 57:03Speaker 16: part of you that's surprised with how well l he's
- 57:05Speaker 16: been playing?
- 57:06Speaker 12: No? I will say this, you know that one of
- 57:08Speaker 12: his strengths that you continue to see now, he's not
- 57:11Speaker 12: a repeat era guy and there are definitely looks that
- 57:14Speaker 12: he still hasn't seen or we haven't practice against, and
- 57:16Speaker 12: you know they may confuse him at first, but he's
- 57:18Speaker 12: not a repeat air guy. And that's a that's a
- 57:20Speaker 12: good trait for a quarterback that I know.
- 57:22Speaker 10: He said, I believe the extending place is the most
- 57:25Speaker 10: fall you on the quarterback, because quarterreck, when did you
- 57:28Speaker 10: come to believe that?
- 57:29Speaker 3: And what made you come to that realization?
- 57:31Speaker 12: I mean, look at look at the quarterbacks around the
- 57:33Speaker 12: league that we throw in the top tier, all of
- 57:36Speaker 12: them have the ability to extend plays. Now, with that
- 57:38Speaker 12: being said, he is a quarterback and there are times
- 57:40Speaker 12: where it's like just stay in the pocket and throw
- 57:42Speaker 12: the ball. But to be able to at least even
- 57:44Speaker 12: have the threat of scrambling definitely helps offenses out and
- 57:49Speaker 12: the offensive.
- 57:49Speaker 3: Line that time.
- 57:50Speaker 10: It's different from the other quarterbacks you faced. You know,
- 57:52Speaker 10: when you were playing right, most pocket bound guys, and
- 57:55Speaker 10: since you started coaching year, you know, the top quarterbacks
- 57:58Speaker 10: have that account of mobility and ability to extend it.
- 58:00Speaker 10: Is that something that changed in your philosophy or viewpoint
- 58:02Speaker 10: during those periods.
- 58:03Speaker 12: I would say there was a mix of quarterbacks at
- 58:05Speaker 12: least when I played. You know, it may not be
- 58:07Speaker 12: the let's say, the Lamar Jackson, but you got to think,
- 58:10Speaker 12: like Michael Vick was doing some of that stuff. And
- 58:12Speaker 12: I would also throw a guy like Ben Roethlisberger in there,
- 58:14Speaker 12: who he wasn't very elusive, but it was hard to
- 58:17Speaker 12: bring down in the pocket. And so I mean, I'm
- 58:19Speaker 12: sure you've seen all the mistackles on Ben Roethlisberger, but
- 58:22Speaker 12: that also is an extended Playfully way back, we're back.
- 58:30Speaker 16: Every team seems to have at least two really top
- 58:32Speaker 16: tier receivers from.
- 58:33Speaker 12: The Bengals of Seattle.
- 58:35Speaker 11: Last week, you guys dealt with cup in Nakula. How
- 58:38Speaker 11: do you guys determine when you see wattle and Tyreek hilt?
- 58:41Speaker 16: How do you determine what you're gonna do in the
- 58:44Speaker 16: secondary week to week into the conversation stuff.
- 58:47Speaker 12: I think the first thing this is a little bit different.
- 58:49Speaker 12: You know, you look at last week it was more
- 58:51Speaker 12: about the size matchup. This week is about the speed matchup.
- 58:54Speaker 12: And you know, we've we have guys in the locker
- 58:56Speaker 12: room who have covered those guys relatively well, and we
- 58:59Speaker 12: just have to continue to do that. I would say
- 59:00Speaker 12: when you look at when you look at like matchups
- 59:03Speaker 12: like that, you know, it's always fun to see a
- 59:06Speaker 12: guy travel with the guy. But again, you know they
- 59:09Speaker 12: learned you and you're learning them during the game, and
- 59:11Speaker 12: I think there is something that's sometimes changing those matchups up.
- 59:14Speaker 12: Just to throw it off, I was.
- 59:16Speaker 4: Gonna ask somewhat similar questions, being somewhat big, secular, open extaement.
- 59:21Speaker 14: They have speedy guys, You have speedy.
- 59:23Speaker 1: Guys that might people were of a matchup.
- 59:26Speaker 12: No, that's right, that's exactly right.
- 59:28Speaker 4: It was wonder de Fens and he follow off of
- 59:31Speaker 4: the Rams game where some of our discussion with Christian.
- 59:35Speaker 12: Which is which is you know it's it's a fair
- 59:37Speaker 12: point what I would say, Like in the Man I
- 59:39Speaker 12: went back and looked at that as well. So in
- 59:41Speaker 12: the Manda Man snaps, Christian was on one of those
- 59:45Speaker 12: top two guys the majority of the time and now
- 59:47Speaker 12: on zone like I mean, it really doesn't matter. Now
- 59:49Speaker 12: I shouldn't say doesn't matter where he is, but in
- 59:51Speaker 12: those Manda Man snaps, he was for the most part
- 59:53Speaker 12: where we wanted him to be.
- 59:54Speaker 16: Try did you've watched the Dolphins up two of him
- 59:57Speaker 16: since he became their quarterback?
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: Why does he did this offense.
- 1:00:02Speaker 12: So long and comes out so quickness?
- 1:00:04Speaker 5: That's right?
- 1:00:05Speaker 12: Yeah, I think I think the first thing is like
- 1:00:06Speaker 12: you have a bunch of receivers and now even putting
- 1:00:08Speaker 12: the back and Johnny in there as well, that you
- 1:00:11Speaker 12: know they have good run after catchability and you hit
- 1:00:13Speaker 12: it on the head. You know, the quickness that the
- 1:00:16Speaker 12: ball comes out and gives those guys an opportunity to
- 1:00:18Speaker 12: run is definitely a strength to us.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: Live Quarterback wide Receiver conversation.
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: How much of it all this history played?
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: We talk about a guy specifically like Jonathan jos.
- 1:00:29Speaker 12: I think you take those things into consideration while at
- 1:00:32Speaker 12: the same time, you know, maintaining the right to kind
- 1:00:34Speaker 12: of change those matchups.
- 1:00:35Speaker 16: So Miami historically has been a weird place for this
- 1:00:39Speaker 16: team to play, no matter at the time of the year.
- 1:00:41Speaker 12: What do you think that is.
- 1:00:42Speaker 16: Do you address that with the guys this week?
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it.
- 1:00:45Speaker 12: I think it well, first and foremost. I won't address
- 1:00:48Speaker 12: it with the guys as far as like the struggles
- 1:00:50Speaker 12: that we've had in Miami, even though they're probably listening
- 1:00:52Speaker 12: to me right now. But what I will say is
- 1:00:55Speaker 12: every game is unique. Every game is unique. It's a
- 1:00:57Speaker 12: tough place to play. It's not that it's like super
- 1:01:00Speaker 12: loud or anything like that. We just we just haven't
- 1:01:02Speaker 12: been able to get over the hump.
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: So sorry to keep parking on.
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: The matchups in and now great moments in.
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: History. Eric and Paul show a feeling for the league.
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: Jacksonville wins this game. They do, in fact, get that
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: I took the Houston points.
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: What about the cover I took the heree and a
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: half Jacksonville by three and a half. Yeah, you took
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: jackson So you want the point you lay in the points, pleepless.
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: They're gonna They're gonna win by more's He's winnings on
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: both sides.
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: Ladies and gentlemen, He's winning.
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: They're gonna win now, you know.
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: Want to know why I have that face? Some of
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: these are not intentional?
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: Yeah? Uh, this is your lock of the week. Upset
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: Lock of the week Pittsburgh over the Titans. What was
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: the spread?
- 1:01:53Speaker 15: To two?
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: Huge upset too.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: They're gonna win by more big upset. The New England
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: money is not coming in, so that worries me. That
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: worries me in this game. What do they know? What
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: do they know? But I'm gonna say nothing. They know nothing.
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: Oh I thought you were gonna say nothing.
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: Yeah, and he's done that plenty Yeah.
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: Patriots prevail twenty eight nineteen Patriots.
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: My favorite part of the friend is twenty when he
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: gives picks on games that there's some thought too, like
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: that one. Right, He's tortured for a minute and then
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: it's really you go either way and then six away
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: for a two score win.
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: Yeah, that's another great moment.
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: All right back here and Patriot's unfiltered a five to
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: five past five hundred is the TPX hotline podcasts at
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: Patriots dot Com. Is the email address. Jay has a
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: good email. It's a candidate for Email of the Week.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: In the newsletter, it says, first off, love the show,
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: especially when Fred and Paul argue when they agree with
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: each other. Me too, we argue when we agree. But
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: I've had several gripes this year and I want to
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: get them off my chest. One Alex and Evans attendance
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: is poor to me. They're unbelievably good members and I
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: love when they're on, but it's disappointing that fifty percent
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: of the shows don't have one or the other. I
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: understand that it's due to change and schedule with the
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: team in the league, but I feel like something can
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: be done. Okay, well, you know, we leave, we leave
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: you wanting more, not really, not really for we leave
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: you wanting more anyway. Number two Alex Barth does not
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: know what rapid fire means. Dude needs to make a
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: point and move on. We'll have to take that up
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: with Evan when he comes here.
- 1:03:45Speaker 7: Uh.
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: Three, Alex, the woman needs to elaborate on her freaking picks. Okay, okay,
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: I kind of like her style, and we have to hurry.
- 1:03:57Speaker 8: We have to there's not much to elaborate on.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: We have to hurry. Four. No Socks needs to get
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: the good, the bad, and the injured list so much
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: sooner he lets it drag on and on until he does.
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: It's so annoying. Good, the bad, and the injured.
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: Well, I think we've done the good, the bad, the
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: injured before we start the good, the bad, and the injury.
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: Five. The good, bad, and injured list is the best
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: part of the post game shows. Stop consolidating the list
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: and take your time. For instance, Oh, the whole defense
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: was great today. Say more talk about all the individual players,
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: especially after a win. We're riding a high. Well that
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: doesn't come too often. Frid Well, we only had three
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: so far. Uh makes it sound so mean. And still
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: on No Socks, he needs to understand what part of good, bad,
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: and injured you're in, because he always has some weird
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: interjection with a negative in the good list or an
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: injured player when you're on the bad list.
- 1:04:57Speaker 4: Oh, that's funny, so it's good.
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: I haven't total help him out with that. I do try, right,
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: but I don't know.
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: Do you notice the last part there that he when
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: we're in the middle of the good list, he talks
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: about bad things.
- 1:05:12Speaker 5: Oh I don't know, No, not so much.
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: In general.
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: In life, well, Susan, Yeah, we Mike, I have sort
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: of I think he's getting better every week.
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: Yeah. I think it's just like we already know Matt
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: and we already have a little bit of a rapport
- 1:05:34Speaker 4: with him. So I think it's just settling into that,
- 1:05:36Speaker 4: like into what we're normally just sitting in the bullpen
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: down here.
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: The one thing that I've been trying to really get
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: him to come out and do is offer his thoughts.
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: He wants to be sort of traditional host. I'm gonna
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: set the table and I'm gonna let Mike and Paul
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: Shine opine.
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: But I think he needs to opine more.
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: Yeah, right, sure, that's where heart he did a little
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: bit Kickers usually right every time they'd score a touchdown,
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: Nick Folk would make the extra point, he'd write down, I.
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: Got one, everybody, Lee writes in High Gentleman and Alex
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: I love the stripped down start to Patriots Unfiltered, with
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: the senior members arguing whilst Alex looks on probably in
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: complete bewilderment of them. Arguing, arguing in agreement.
- 1:06:35Speaker 7: You were stuck in one of those like when two
- 1:06:37Speaker 7: dogs are fighting each other and you're like if I
- 1:06:38Speaker 7: jump on them?
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: Just in the AML too, look on her face was
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: exactly as the email are just described.
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: It was like, what am I doing here?
- 1:06:46Speaker 8: No, I was smiling, it was entertaining.
- 1:06:48Speaker 7: I was thinking in my head like it'd be cool
- 1:06:51Speaker 7: for the listeners to be able to have like a
- 1:06:53Speaker 7: front row seat to it and be in the room
- 1:06:55Speaker 7: while it's manifesting.
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: It's it's it's it's fun to listen to. But at
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: the same time, like there, You're like, are they arguing
- 1:07:01Speaker 4: the same thing? I'm like, I'd get in on this
- 1:07:03Speaker 4: if there was a side, But I feel like they're
- 1:07:04Speaker 4: both on the same side and there's some are arguing.
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: So it's two days in a row. Two It was
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: on Adam.
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: It was on Adam yesterday and today it was we
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: agree that Van Pelt is doing a good job.
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: What's right now we're arguing about it.
- 1:07:17Speaker 4: All that thing.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: Fred. I have some concerns. Firstly, we haven't seen Tamara
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: in a long time. I hope she's okay. She's been
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: on the post game show, pregame she just I'd be
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: in the pregame show every week. Yeah. Secondly, Paul seems
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: to be in some sort of predicament car concerns, no
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: longer eating on the show. Can you drive around and
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: do a welfare check on him as part of your
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: boss man duties?
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: I have finances of hit hard.
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: I have a query as to what you think of
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: last year's draft class now they are no longer rookies, Douglas, White,
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: Gonzales all look like NFL caliber players and similar to
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: parliamentry by Booty as to his progression will continue and
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: what causes move from frankly bust to looking like he
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: belongs in the league. Is it the change in coaches
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: and approach? I think it's it's him. He just decided
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: I'm going.
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: To keep working at it, because he went through the
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: spring in most of the summer in the same spot
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: that he was in sort of fringe.
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: Moster guy, hanging on, kind of fighting.
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: According to the coaches, it was his sort of progression
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: on the practice field that pushed it. He was inactive
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: earlier in the year, right, yeah, a couple of times. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: So I would agree overall though, like that draft class
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: looks Okay, you know, Gonzales and White I think look
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: like two guys that should be part of your defense
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: going forward. And I think you get I think Douglas
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: and Booty you are both probably going to be part
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: of your receiving group. Now you need obviously better than that,
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: but they're going to be part of it. So that's
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: that's four players that you're going to have going forward
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: from one class.
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: That's not bad. I echoed that.
- 1:08:51Speaker 4: I'm curious about Marty Mapoo right now. I know, actually
- 1:08:55Speaker 4: Jabill Peppers has his next court date tomorrow, so maybe
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: we'll get an update on his status. But I mean
- 1:08:59Speaker 4: there's a very good chance he's never gonna dress to
- 1:09:01Speaker 4: the Patriots again. Marty Maphu didn't dress last week. Is
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: he part of the solution long term? You know, how
- 1:09:07Speaker 4: do you feel about Kyle Dugart, Del Pattis and Mapou
- 1:09:09Speaker 4: next year or is that a significant need that they
- 1:09:12Speaker 4: might have to look at it.
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: I wonder if Mapu didn't dress because of something physical.
- 1:09:17Speaker 4: He's mean, he's been on with a neck, he's had
- 1:09:19Speaker 4: a neck injury, or if they just decided, But I mean,
- 1:09:21Speaker 4: even you know, one little thing I noticed is Del
- 1:09:24Speaker 4: delp has us play more snap than then the other
- 1:09:26Speaker 4: guy right now, jamis you know just I mean it
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: could be circumstantial, but still it's uh not great.
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: Something to note, but that's not really a shot at
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: del pettis the secondary struggle.
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: Sure, you know, Brian wrote in and this is for you, dues.
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: He wants to know if you have an update on
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: bil Peppers.
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: I just gave him man courrow. We could do that
- 1:09:50Speaker 4: on tomorrow. Tomorrow Tomorrow is next time he'll be.
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: But so you really think that we've we will not
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: see him again.
- 1:09:58Speaker 4: I kind of think that's the way I'm leaning, right,
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: I mean unless tomorrow they come out, And I mean
- 1:10:01Speaker 4: why if there was a videotape of something, wouldn't they
- 1:10:04Speaker 4: have been here?
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: It is Oh geez, the ladies.
- 1:10:07Speaker 7: Maybe we talked about this all the time, like I'm leaving,
- 1:10:11Speaker 7: I'm leaking at the next day, That's what I do,
- 1:10:14Speaker 7: you know.
- 1:10:15Speaker 8: And he's been like he's dropping.
- 1:10:17Speaker 4: Some music don't like in the last so really, what's
- 1:10:20Speaker 4: he doing now?
- 1:10:21Speaker 7: This is like talk We were wondering what he was doing.
- 1:10:24Speaker 7: And then later that week I saw him posting like.
- 1:10:27Speaker 4: Round he's getting into his music now. See it's not
- 1:10:29Speaker 4: a good sign like he's on this transitioning his music career.
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: Jacob and Illinois. I'd like to address a glaring p
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: U Crew injustice. Fred. You must be mister crabs for
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: how you live comfortably wearing designer clothes because Marshals is
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: beneath you, having your lawn mode for you and going
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: to restaurants where you shot Dane to carry your drink. Meanwhile,
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: the man next to you can't afford to keep his
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: car to snuff with the state and can't update the wardrobe.
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: You incessantly bully him for loosen your purse strings. You
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: miserable whatever. Paying Paul shouldn't be that hard. Something else
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: that isn't hard, easy to drink, easy to enjoy the
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: official beverage of Paul Perilla.
- 1:11:11Speaker 5: I got your butt.
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: All of this isn't just keep up the amazing work.
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: Shout out Biggie my brother from another mother trucker.
- 1:11:19Speaker 8: What a Marshalls slanderous This is a Marshall's fine right here.
- 1:11:22Speaker 4: First, people, though, I'm Marshalls hashtag TEAMJS. Well maybe you
- 1:11:28Speaker 4: work there, Alex. You can provide some insight on this.
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: Fred says that the clothes that they send to Marshals
- 1:11:33Speaker 4: are actually lesser quality than the clothes they sell in
- 1:11:36Speaker 4: the regular store.
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: Would you concur and or we're damaged?
- 1:11:39Speaker 7: Okay, So to my understanding, it's a mix of irregular stuff,
- 1:11:45Speaker 7: stuff that was over purchased for retail stores, and then
- 1:11:49Speaker 7: a lot of what you're seeing now is like maybe
- 1:11:51Speaker 7: brands that are past their heyday a little and they're
- 1:11:54Speaker 7: on the decline, and then that's when they get into
- 1:11:56Speaker 7: your Marshals and stuff. I think there's probably some that
- 1:11:59Speaker 7: manufacture specifically.
- 1:12:02Speaker 8: I think you're right.
- 1:12:04Speaker 7: I cannot confirm that I was just a lucky I
- 1:12:07Speaker 7: was a very lowly sixteen seventeen year old sales associate.
- 1:12:10Speaker 5: I worked in the if you're if.
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: You're a young kid and you and you've just got
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: your first or second job, and it's a place where
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: you kind of have to work. Everything you have to
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: dress every day go to Marshalls.
- 1:12:22Speaker 7: So it depends on the Marshalls too. Yeah, you go
- 1:12:25Speaker 7: even one in Newton. They have legitimate designer stuff like
- 1:12:29Speaker 7: in glass cases, like you need someone to get in there.
- 1:12:33Speaker 17: You go to like bother and speaking by So I'm
- 1:12:37Speaker 17: in CBS the other day, okay, and I needed to
- 1:12:40Speaker 17: buy soap bar soap on the slot it's locked up.
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I had to get assistanced the case to get
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: soap soap?
- 1:12:50Speaker 10: Is that?
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: I said to her? I said, people really stealing.
- 1:12:54Speaker 7: So she's like, if you go to the ink blot
- 1:12:57Speaker 7: anywhere in the ink blot or like, you can't even
- 1:13:01Speaker 7: just go in.
- 1:13:01Speaker 8: And get anything. It was all locked up at least
- 1:13:04Speaker 8: last time I was, which is ra yeah expensive.
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: You know any formula, drugs, formula, this.
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: Is just normal.
- 1:13:13Speaker 8: Well, they're making meth out of suit of fed.
- 1:13:17Speaker 4: Sounds like it sounds like an.
- 1:13:18Speaker 6: Opportunity, melting the soap and repurposing it and selling it
- 1:13:21Speaker 6: on the black market. It's like, what are they building
- 1:13:25Speaker 6: it into then reselling it themselves?
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: Is that right? Wow, that's what the Google says. Oh
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: my god.
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: Ept, well you can imagine, you know, I don't care.
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: I'm just kidding. A new unlocked about the Marshals.
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: How about a new unlock display soap on a slot?
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:13:41Speaker 6: So, the slat irregular in the sense of being defected
- 1:13:44Speaker 6: or damaged, but often come from overstocked past seasons or
- 1:13:47Speaker 6: excessive inventory from major brands.
- 1:13:49Speaker 8: Yeah, there's the regular stuff too.
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: Literally, you remember the like.
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: The Adidas shorts that everybody used to wear.
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: Yeah, the three stripes stripes, Yeah, yeah, kind of like.
- 1:14:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I was probably like maybe twelve ish and my
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: mother got me.
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: A few pairs. Sometimes they were really shiny.
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: Yeah, like you know, and they were they were good shorts.
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: But like one of the pockets was like stitch clothes.
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: Couldn't you couldn't get in you know, No, no it
- 1:14:20Speaker 3: was it was stitch clothes. It wasn't trying.
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: You couldn't do it. That's why it was in. Marshall
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: locked up the pocket.
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: That's why that like pair of like you know, forty
- 1:14:29Speaker 3: dollars shorts was on sale for like five bucks because
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: the pocket didn't there.
- 1:14:34Speaker 4: But you can't get into it.
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: But I I it looks good. Yeah, it's just like
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: all the time, like damn it, that's my move for
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: all I know. There's like there's a sales guy upstairs
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: who's about to do a deal with Marshall's Boston company.
- 1:14:47Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: I've gotten many things at Marshall's.
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: Okay, good for kids, kids stuff.
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: I mean that's I don't think we've ever gotten anything.
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: But like I said, if you need quantity, because you
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: need to change it up. You go there, Go ahead,
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: put them bag for your buck. Yeah, I just don't
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: buy a lot of clothes.
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: Even says it with such disdain. Go there if you want.
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: I'm giving you permission.
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: The email and nails you like the one like the
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: one from back, the one about no one makes being
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: rich sod.
- 1:15:18Speaker 4: Rich that he missed out on like the thread had
- 1:15:19Speaker 4: just hanging his hand off the off the throne to
- 1:15:22Speaker 4: let the dog clean off.
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: His fingers for it. That's just being lazy. That's just
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: being lazy. Uh. Tom in England the perfect We're talking
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: about donuts the other day. So the perfect donut is
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: a jam filled donut, not shelley with a dusting of sugar,
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: followed by a Krispy Kreme glazed ring donut. What are
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: your thoughts on Tim Horton's We have this side of
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: the pond and I rate them over Duncan.
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: Duncan is great a sponsor.
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: Yes, Uh.
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: Doesn't match up donut.
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: Right? I don't know.
- 1:16:03Speaker 7: One Duncan in Massachusetts where they still make them there,
- 1:16:07Speaker 7: but most.
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: Of the others then donuts are fine for the donuts,
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: but you go to these places they have these designer
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: donuts it's like.
- 1:16:14Speaker 8: The next Yeah, like.
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: What's the place that every is that the place bringing
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: and is like thanks, they just sit there because nobody
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: wanted them. Yeah, you just told me.
- 1:16:31Speaker 4: Well, I will say. We get dunk in every week
- 1:16:33Speaker 4: for the pre and post game show and those things
- 1:16:35Speaker 4: are gone, like they everyone.
- 1:16:38Speaker 5: Six of them before.
- 1:16:39Speaker 4: That's why I always get one.
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: I get one sometimes too.
- 1:16:44Speaker 4: It's got a little treat before the two. Get you excited.
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: Ah, let's see who's his first time emailer? It is Dylan. Oh,
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: you're on the list with to talk about a VP
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: and Marcus Jones. Early I had an idea. It might
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: not be realistic, but I wanted your opinion on it.
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: The running game has been struggling for a while. Remandre
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: hasn't had the same juice we saw earlier in the season.
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: It seems like Drake May accounts for seventy percent of
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: the rushing yards every week. Could putting Marcus Jones in
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: the backfield and giving him some snaps as a running
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: back workout. Like Paul said, he's absolutely electric with the
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: ball in his hand and he could be a threat
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: to break one off for a touchdown at any point.
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: Do you think his vision and ability on punt returns
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: could translate to a role as running back, getting a
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: few snaps here and there. It's a change of pace,
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: I don't think. So it's a lot different, you know,
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: running from that dead start.
- 1:17:35Speaker 4: That's what we've seen, Yeah, that dead stop, getting them
- 1:17:38Speaker 4: in space, you know, getting them with speed and space.
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: And around last week is yeah, you have to do
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: it that way.
- 1:17:43Speaker 4: But yeah, but I mean I get what he's getting
- 1:17:44Speaker 4: at a little bit with a punk return, but I
- 1:17:46Speaker 4: also think on a punt return, you have a lot
- 1:17:47Speaker 4: more time to kind of find an angle. And it's
- 1:17:50Speaker 4: not like I mean, especially with this offensive line, there
- 1:17:52Speaker 4: might be a guy on top of him, like you
- 1:17:54Speaker 4: don't like a punt return, but he might wave fair catch.
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: And if you're spreading, you know, spread the formation out
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: and you're trying to, you know, see if you can
- 1:18:00Speaker 3: get the defense in a light front, and all of
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: a sudden you get a seam or a crease or whatever. Yeah,
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: I think, yeah, he could make some big plays doing that,
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: but I there's a traditional running back first and ten
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: I don't I don't like his chances, right, yeah, twenty
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: two leads. I don't like his chances of holding.
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: Up tim our friend at Duncan writes in he says,
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: do you think that the Patriots may utilize Brendan's schooler
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: the way they did in the Chicago game as some
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: sort of spy for the quarterback?
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: I don't think.
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: I don't think you need it on too it.
- 1:18:33Speaker 4: I mean maybe something to considered with Kyler Murray in
- 1:18:34Speaker 4: a couple of weeks though.
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: Sure, sure, yep, sure, Uh let's go to the TP.
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: We haven't been there yet. I can't read. Uh, Dylan
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: in South Carolina? What's up? Dylan?
- 1:18:50Speaker 18: Hey, first time caller. Just to clear up some things
- 1:18:53Speaker 18: you guys were talking about yesterday, y'all are saying, like
- 1:18:57Speaker 18: Drake had said pause here in the interview. Being from
- 1:19:00Speaker 18: the Carolinas and a young kid like myself had a
- 1:19:02Speaker 18: brag or anything, but uh, we would say pause if
- 1:19:05Speaker 18: we said something out of pocket, for example, like Drake
- 1:19:08Speaker 18: made it feeling up on the guys or whatever. He
- 1:19:11Speaker 18: ended up staying like feeling good in the coverage. He
- 1:19:14Speaker 18: said pause, and you know, indicate like it might have
- 1:19:16Speaker 18: been out of pocket if you heard it. I had contact.
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: Yeah, So that's why he was saying that.
- 1:19:21Speaker 18: The last thing I want to bring up is we
- 1:19:23Speaker 18: always talk about the worst draft here recently. What would
- 1:19:26Speaker 18: be the best draft pick other than Drake May obviously
- 1:19:29Speaker 18: that you guys would bring up and I'll take it
- 1:19:31Speaker 18: off there of.
- 1:19:32Speaker 3: All time, Dylan the way the best, the best draft
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: pick recently. Yeah, he's probably Gonzales. Yeah yeah, yeah, like
- 1:19:40Speaker 3: Drake May was the third overall pick, that was the
- 1:19:43Speaker 3: pick Gonzales. They had all kinds of options, they traded down,
- 1:19:46Speaker 3: they still got Paul.
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: What was the best draft the Patriots ever had as
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: a franchise individual years at the Hannah Draft, that.
- 1:19:54Speaker 3: Would be one of them. Seventy three I think it was. Yeah,
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: seventy six was great. I think it was like one
- 1:20:01Speaker 3: in like eighty five, I think something like that.
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: I mean they drafted Marcus Haynes and then Marcus Haynes,
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: Mike Haynes. I'm thinking of Marcus Jones. Mike Haynes. I
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: just know you speak, I speak, Frank, I know I
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: knew exactly what he meant. That's why I laughed. That
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: was a good.
- 1:20:24Speaker 3: They had some good I mean, Chuck Fairbanks was a
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: really good drafter.
- 1:20:27Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and even you know when Parcels, they had
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: some good.
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: Drafts ninety five draft was was exceptional high lawd Ted Johnson,
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: Curtis Martin.
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: Yeah, not a bad one. Two three Nope.
- 1:20:40Speaker 6: Chat g BT says the two thousand is the best
- 1:20:42Speaker 6: draft year of all.
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: Time for the Patriots.
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: Yeah, well, why who they draft in two thousand?
- 1:20:47Speaker 17: Right?
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: You're playing out here here with Rabel?
- 1:20:55Speaker 3: None of these were draft picks except for Break.
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: Was not a draft. I'm straight just reading, not.
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: Knowing at you GPTs blind spot right, facts, facts, facts.
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: Rabel wasn't a draft pick anything. Wasn't on a team
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: in two thousand. So that's not good. That's not good
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: for g BT.
- 1:21:18Speaker 4: I'd be careful with that.
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: Accurate, but it isn't. Kendalls in North Carolina? What's up, Kendall?
- 1:21:24Speaker 8: Hey?
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: Are you good?
- 1:21:27Speaker 19: I wanted to ask real quick, what do I think
- 1:21:31Speaker 19: that Patriots can be like to be competing for the division,
- 1:21:34Speaker 19: to be compete for the division next year or at
- 1:21:36Speaker 19: least a second. If you look at the division, the
- 1:21:39Speaker 19: Dolphins got situations with Tour long term help, and then
- 1:21:42Speaker 19: the Jet they're like they're going to rebuild it this year,
- 1:21:45Speaker 19: and then we know Buffalo is but that we can
- 1:21:47Speaker 19: at least be number two in the Vision next year.
- 1:21:49Speaker 19: This question foot Paul, but any of y'all can answer,
- 1:21:51Speaker 19: appreciate it, Okay.
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: All right, thanks Kenvill.
- 1:21:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I think I would say Miami would
- 1:21:56Speaker 3: be discernibly better than the Patriots next year, But if
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: TUA is out of the equation.
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: Then that would change things for sure.
- 1:22:04Speaker 3: And I also think there's a difference between competing for
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: the division and finishing second in the division. Right now,
- 1:22:10Speaker 3: whoever finish the second behind Buffalo this year is probably
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: going to be like four or five games behind, right, and.
- 1:22:15Speaker 4: Then go after loose to Buffalo in the playoffs.
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: Well, so what you're saying second is up for grabs
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: right now.
- 1:22:22Speaker 3: Miami's four and six, right, so there are four games
- 1:22:25Speaker 3: by hind in Buffalo. We're not even at Thanksgiving.
- 1:22:28Speaker 4: It's a lot to make up.
- 1:22:29Speaker 3: So you can say Miami is the second best team
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: in the division, that's fact, right, But you can't say
- 1:22:35Speaker 3: they're a contender for the division right because they're not.
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: Yep uh Travis in West Virginia. One of my pet
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: peeves is when people add an extra unnecessary syllable when
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: saying Vina. Terry Matt and Mike Knock it.
- 1:22:49Speaker 4: Off because you guys say Tierry, I pronounced the eye
- 1:22:53Speaker 4: vin Terry than a Terry.
- 1:22:54Speaker 6: Okay, I said it that way because that's how I
- 1:22:56Speaker 6: heard Mike saying, no.
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: Shoot. Also, I'm personally indifferent about you can't cover this
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: team if you don't know how to pronounce there's an
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: eye in there.
- 1:23:03Speaker 3: You don't know how to pronounce the names you should.
- 1:23:05Speaker 4: There's an Ou and Blount.
- 1:23:07Speaker 6: You said it so many times making the two thousand
- 1:23:09Speaker 6: and one documentary.
- 1:23:10Speaker 4: Oh damn it, I ruined the whole thing.
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: Also, I'm personally indifferent about the Thursday pick segment, but
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: I actually think it's an insult. If people say that
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: it's their favorite part of the show, Wow, they're insulted.
- 1:23:23Speaker 4: I have to say, I take the pics a little
- 1:23:24Speaker 4: bit more seriously now that they we have like a
- 1:23:25Speaker 4: graphic about the standings.
- 1:23:27Speaker 8: I tried to take it seriously. Today it was blocked
- 1:23:29Speaker 8: from DraftKings. I tried to do.
- 1:23:30Speaker 5: Prep and we had to get Fred.
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: I had to issue a ticket to help desk same.
- 1:23:37Speaker 5: Oh yeah, because I.
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: Wasn't allowed and I had to I had to approve it.
- 1:23:41Speaker 4: Yeah yeah. Fred came out Big boss Man said he
- 1:23:44Speaker 4: was like what huh.
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: He actually had to approve it.
- 1:23:46Speaker 7: We're on the gambling approved list, all of us.
- 1:23:50Speaker 4: Yeah, well at least the people. I mean Evan and
- 1:23:52Speaker 4: Alex and me and.
- 1:23:53Speaker 8: You anyone who submitted a help ticket.
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean we're not allowed to gamble. We had
- 1:23:59Speaker 3: to take a class to say that we understand that
- 1:24:03Speaker 3: we're not allowed to gamble, and now we have to
- 1:24:05Speaker 3: be treated like children. No, no, no, you can't even
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: look at a spread, like.
- 1:24:10Speaker 4: What are we doing blocking more sites? Like what you know?
- 1:24:12Speaker 4: Like what do you really need for your job? Like
- 1:24:14Speaker 4: you know you can get to do that.
- 1:24:16Speaker 8: A lot of companies do that, like Gmail will be
- 1:24:18Speaker 8: blocked and random stuff. I don't know.
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: It's crazy being freds Now. You guys had some lawn
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: maintenance discussion yesterday which got me wondering if Fred has
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: been using his nut grab or it's actually nut Wizard.
- 1:24:31Speaker 2: I can't remember the actual name. That's what it is.
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: It is it holding up. I've never had it's amazing.
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: After that one season where acorns were just raining down,
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: ever since then, I've never had a year where not
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: these horns were.
- 1:24:45Speaker 4: This year was an acorn year. We got a ton
- 1:24:46Speaker 4: of acorns because I don't have like different, yeah, but
- 1:24:51Speaker 4: I know it's like a thing every couple of years
- 1:24:53Speaker 4: that there's just a ton of acorns, so I never
- 1:24:55Speaker 4: had to you we had them this year.
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: But it is holding up Evan's here.
- 1:25:01Speaker 17: Evan has returned from practice and has returned prompt.
- 1:25:08Speaker 6: Has returned from practice.
- 1:25:11Speaker 5: Who was there?
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: All right, Evan? What's going on?
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: Now?
- 1:25:15Speaker 5: They're in the bubble, right in the bubble today? There
- 1:25:18Speaker 5: it was it wasn't too hot in there now it wasn't.
- 1:25:21Speaker 5: It was normal bubble temperature. But you know, a lot
- 1:25:24Speaker 5: of grousing about in out and out. And I'll get
- 1:25:26Speaker 5: to that in a second. But the good news is
- 1:25:31Speaker 5: is that, yeah, is that Christian Barmore? Now I can't
- 1:25:36Speaker 5: even get my train of thought. Christian Barmore was back
- 1:25:40Speaker 5: at practice today, So it sounds like he's like on
- 1:25:43Speaker 5: like a Thursday schedule where Thursday is the day. We'll
- 1:25:46Speaker 5: see if he's out there tomorrow. But that's what it
- 1:25:48Speaker 5: was last week. So Barmore back, Still no dtrich whise,
- 1:25:52Speaker 5: so he misses his fifth straight practice now going back
- 1:25:55Speaker 5: to last week after missing last week's game with that
- 1:25:58Speaker 5: foot injury. So those are really the two attendance notes today,
- 1:26:02Speaker 5: everybody else was present and accounted for. So Barmore back
- 1:26:06Speaker 5: and why is not.
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: Okay? So is this the first time they practiced in
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: the bubble? What we've had access this season?
- 1:26:15Speaker 5: Correct?
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: Yeah, yes, that's nothing. What was the mood like? Was
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: it different for you in there?
- 1:26:22Speaker 5: It was different. It was bumping in there because you know,
- 1:26:24Speaker 5: you turned music on and and it's indoors obviously, so
- 1:26:27Speaker 5: it's allowed. And uh, you know, guys were guys were
- 1:26:30Speaker 5: into it. There's a lot of.
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: Hoot more selective in terms of what media is allowed
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: in there.
- 1:26:35Speaker 5: Nope, no, nope, same contingent. But they have these like
- 1:26:39Speaker 5: awnings up like because you know the glass doors that
- 1:26:42Speaker 5: open up into it from the parking lot, so they
- 1:26:45Speaker 5: have these like awnings up now, like kind of like
- 1:26:47Speaker 5: when we're on the road, when you know, in the
- 1:26:49Speaker 5: team hotel, to like cover the field so that you
- 1:26:53Speaker 5: can't just stand in the parking lot and look into
- 1:26:56Speaker 5: the into the practice. So that that that was an
- 1:27:00Speaker 5: interesting new edition.
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: And we did have an emailer that asks that you
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: have a conversation with Alex Barth about because he doesn't
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: understand the meaning of rapid fire.
- 1:27:13Speaker 5: Oh he does not. We're terrible at that as a duo,
- 1:27:17Speaker 5: Like you know us, like we could talk football all
- 1:27:18Speaker 5: day long. So asking us to go rapid fire is
- 1:27:22Speaker 5: like asking us to do something impossible.
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: You know. It's is that a segment in the show
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: that you do?
- 1:27:27Speaker 4: Know it?
- 1:27:27Speaker 5: Just last week we had a bunch of and he's
- 1:27:29Speaker 5: he's standing over there right now.
- 1:27:32Speaker 10: You know.
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: We like making fun of people right when they're Yeah.
- 1:27:36Speaker 4: No.
- 1:27:36Speaker 5: Last week we had a bunch of emails that had
- 1:27:39Speaker 5: come in and I had neglected them. So I was like,
- 1:27:41Speaker 5: last ten minutes, let's just rapid fire through one. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:27:46Speaker 5: and we were going the first one. He's going on
- 1:27:50Speaker 5: and on, Alex, rapid fire like I don't have five
- 1:27:55Speaker 5: minute takes here, you know, but that's what we do
- 1:27:58Speaker 5: to share his gift.
- 1:27:59Speaker 2: Okay, uh Dan writes in firstly, some email are on
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: host crime, Alex. Stop picking on Paul in the newsletter.
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: You might hide it well, but Paul is a very
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: sensitive soul. You might think that he drinks as a hobby,
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: but it's an escape. It's to escape days that's dark, Alex.
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: If you need to fill in content, you can always
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: print Eric's book about Africa and serial excerpts. That would
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: be funny, don't It'll be a low effort piece as
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: there will be nothing to print. If you're lucky, Eric
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: might give you a watermark photo to fill in the space.
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: So that's how those are inside.
- 1:28:33Speaker 3: Jokes, inside jokes.
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: John Jones usually played on Hill in the past. Is
- 1:28:38Speaker 2: that still the case or is Marcus Jones a better
- 1:28:42Speaker 2: match for Hill now with his speed? I think I
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: think he'll. I think what you do with Jones is
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: you double them up with somebody.
- 1:28:48Speaker 5: So Dave had Gonzo actually played Tyreek Hill the last
- 1:28:52Speaker 5: couple of times. In Week five, he shadowed Tyreek on
- 1:28:55Speaker 5: twenty one of his twenty nine routes in that game,
- 1:28:58Speaker 5: and then also Gonzalez his rookie year. Now, Marcus Jones
- 1:29:01Speaker 5: got hurt early in that game his rookie season, so
- 1:29:05Speaker 5: I don't know if that had an effect, but Gonzalez
- 1:29:08Speaker 5: shadowed Tyreek Hill in that game as well, So I think,
- 1:29:13Speaker 5: you know, let's not forget that Gonzales ran a four
- 1:29:16Speaker 5: to three nine. He can he can fly too, So yeah,
- 1:29:19Speaker 5: he's been on Hill for the most part the last
- 1:29:22Speaker 5: couple of times he's been healthy.
- 1:29:23Speaker 4: Okay, it might be some Jones of safety.
- 1:29:25Speaker 5: That's kind of what I could be figure as well.
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I forgot to ask were they in pads today indoors?
- 1:29:31Speaker 2: No pads, no pads, No, no pads at all.
- 1:29:35Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah they had they always have the uppers.
- 1:29:37Speaker 4: Well, I want to hear more about the grousing though,
- 1:29:39Speaker 4: about the ins and the outs.
- 1:29:41Speaker 8: Well, yeah, Michael Scott snipsnaps.
- 1:29:44Speaker 5: Yeah, it was in out and out, you know, pause
- 1:29:47Speaker 5: and back in the back in the in the rain.
- 1:29:50Speaker 4: They're putting you back out in the rain.
- 1:29:52Speaker 5: Uh. That was the That was the grousing was that
- 1:29:57Speaker 5: we were standing underneath the overhead that this is such
- 1:30:02Speaker 5: a first problem. That's why I'm lou there and uh,
- 1:30:05Speaker 5: and we're out in the kind of the rain but
- 1:30:07Speaker 5: not getting rained on. And then we thought we were
- 1:30:10Speaker 5: going to get kicked out and back outside, but they
- 1:30:12Speaker 5: let us stand behind the awning you know, backs to
- 1:30:14Speaker 5: the field though right now.
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: Just really surprised they don't like to put hoods over
- 1:30:19Speaker 2: turn around.
- 1:30:19Speaker 5: Yeah, well it's like me, of all people, I'm not
- 1:30:21Speaker 5: going to break anything like.
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: A blanket party. The don't even look at him, don't
- 1:30:27Speaker 2: Did you get an updated list of who's going on?
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: The trip this week.
- 1:30:31Speaker 5: A couple of people are going on the trip this
- 1:30:33Speaker 5: week that don't normally don't always go, So it's going
- 1:30:36Speaker 5: to be a little bit of a bigger from the media.
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, nice nice weather.
- 1:30:41Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, a little bit bigger. But I was reminded
- 1:30:44Speaker 5: that it's usually cold in that press box in Miami.
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: Well, no, it was what happens. It's the worst press
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: First of all, it's the worst press box ever, even
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: with the improvements to the stadium. But when it is
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: warm out, they've got the events that literally drip condensation
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: right on you while you're sitting there.
- 1:31:04Speaker 5: It's like it's raining. Yeah, it's a tough setup. But
- 1:31:08Speaker 5: noted about the cold chili.
- 1:31:11Speaker 4: Some people are bring a ring coader and it bring
- 1:31:13Speaker 4: that on, Brelly, you brought its child.
- 1:31:15Speaker 2: It's going to be in the fifties.
- 1:31:16Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I like that.
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: I don't know what you guys are going to do.
- 1:31:19Speaker 5: I'm not going to have to bring all right.
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: It's that time of the week.
- 1:31:25Speaker 4: The best part of the show the shop. It's really
- 1:31:31Speaker 4: free because they're at home.
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: Playing a game long boat. The boys from the Man
- 1:31:40Speaker 2: We gotta hurry Love.
- 1:31:44Speaker 4: We got a hurry spread of again, we got a
- 1:31:48Speaker 4: hurry business song tune?
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: She makes a real one. It's that time? Okay? Is
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: that AI generated? Okay?
- 1:31:59Speaker 3: It is? It sounded like a ross between mid eighties sitcoms.
- 1:32:05Speaker 2: Yeah, and just some like prompted if we like that
- 1:32:08Speaker 2: or should we give it another try?
- 1:32:09Speaker 6: I have other versions if you want.
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: Okay, well, not for today.
- 1:32:12Speaker 5: But the irony is that that takes up a lot
- 1:32:15Speaker 5: of time when we're trying to hurry.
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: What's that The prop I put in for that was
- 1:32:19Speaker 2: disco and jingle?
- 1:32:20Speaker 11: Okay?
- 1:32:22Speaker 4: It was there a rights issue with the that thing? No, no,
- 1:32:26Speaker 4: we're just getting people just as a yeah, all right, fine.
- 1:32:30Speaker 2: All right, Paul. What happened last week?
- 1:32:31Speaker 3: So it was a good week for most not me, No.
- 1:32:36Speaker 2: Not really you either, Fred, But I didn't say anything.
- 1:32:39Speaker 3: No, no, I just was saying we were, you know,
- 1:32:41Speaker 3: a little lagging behind. Mike and Evan eleven and three, nice,
- 1:32:45Speaker 3: Alex ten and four, and you and I were nine
- 1:32:47Speaker 3: and five. So you know, it's like we're holding down
- 1:32:53Speaker 3: the curve, right, you know, right, you know, bringing down
- 1:32:56Speaker 3: the whole class with the spread. Mike eleven and three,
- 1:33:00Speaker 3: really good week with the spread, Alex and Evan really
- 1:33:03Speaker 3: good week with the spread ten and four, Paul seven
- 1:33:06Speaker 3: and seven mediocre as usual, Fred, very atypical of Fred.
- 1:33:10Speaker 2: Yeah, six and eight, My worst week yet this year.
- 1:33:13Speaker 2: You've fallen off.
- 1:33:14Speaker 3: The top spot. Oh boy, So overall, Evan takes the
- 1:33:19Speaker 3: lead from me, breaks the tie one oh nine and
- 1:33:22Speaker 3: fifty seven. I remained in second place at one O
- 1:33:25Speaker 3: seven and fifty nine, Alex one O six and sixty
- 1:33:29Speaker 3: Fred one O five and sixty one, and Mike one
- 1:33:33Speaker 3: O three and sixty three. Don't you Fred, I don't know, Oh,
- 1:33:38Speaker 3: handsome one, it's happened with the spread. There's a new
- 1:33:43Speaker 3: sheriff in time, boy, and he's wicked handsome. Mike is
- 1:33:47Speaker 3: ninety three seventy and three, Wow, followed by Fred at
- 1:33:51Speaker 3: ninety two seventy one and three, Evan ninety seventy three
- 1:33:55Speaker 3: and three, Paul eighty eight seventy five and three, and
- 1:33:59Speaker 3: Alex eighty six seventy seven and three. Still picking every
- 1:34:04Speaker 3: game with the spread. The worst record that this show
- 1:34:07Speaker 3: has is eighty six and seventy seven. Is something that's
- 1:34:10Speaker 3: that's pretty good. That's what you don't need to man's plain,
- 1:34:15Speaker 3: what are we doing?
- 1:34:16Speaker 4: Well? Like?
- 1:34:16Speaker 8: That's pretty good?
- 1:34:17Speaker 2: I think you don't get bonus points for being a woman.
- 1:34:19Speaker 8: No, I'm saying, like I I don't want a man's
- 1:34:22Speaker 8: playing basketball.
- 1:34:24Speaker 3: One of my all time favorite drops. I feel like
- 1:34:27Speaker 3: man's splaying.
- 1:34:28Speaker 5: I was a man splainning hockey to do earlier. So
- 1:34:30Speaker 5: that's fine, power.
- 1:34:31Speaker 4: Play you have an extra man?
- 1:34:34Speaker 5: How does that happen?
- 1:34:35Speaker 4: Paul?
- 1:34:35Speaker 2: That first, the spread the last?
- 1:34:37Speaker 5: Overall?
- 1:34:38Speaker 2: Do you have like a like a theory of like
- 1:34:40Speaker 2: I don't.
- 1:34:40Speaker 4: Like, don't I think we need to check my dumblock? Yeah?
- 1:34:42Speaker 4: Probably there, Thanks for but.
- 1:34:45Speaker 2: We're gonna have to especially first on the amount of
- 1:34:47Speaker 2: we're gonna have to knock into the We're gonna have
- 1:34:49Speaker 2: to do something about that point spread.
- 1:34:50Speaker 4: Lead.
- 1:34:51Speaker 2: I gotta get my lead back, all right. Start with
- 1:34:55Speaker 2: tonight on Prime Video eight fifteen. The eight and two
- 1:34:59Speaker 2: Steelers are at the two and eight Browns, another one
- 1:35:02Speaker 2: of Paul's division matchups.
- 1:35:04Speaker 3: Yeah, Pittsburgh by three and a half.
- 1:35:06Speaker 2: That's it. Yeah. I think there's some sharp snow something here.
- 1:35:10Speaker 2: Something's up, folks, Something is up.
- 1:35:13Speaker 4: I think there's some inclement weather as well tonight.
- 1:35:16Speaker 5: It's that could be a little bit of our sources
- 1:35:18Speaker 5: in Pittsburgh.
- 1:35:19Speaker 4: We have sources directly connected to the head coach in
- 1:35:21Speaker 4: Pittsburgh who informed us that there's some snow tonight. It
- 1:35:24Speaker 4: could be yet I don't know, man, I I guess.
- 1:35:27Speaker 5: I guess, no pronounce, that's what this person said.
- 1:35:34Speaker 4: But I'm gonna I'm gonna go. I look, I don't
- 1:35:36Speaker 4: I haven't really been a believer in Pittsburgh, but I'm
- 1:35:38Speaker 4: gonna go for it tonight. I'll take Pittsburgh lay the points.
- 1:35:41Speaker 8: Yeah, I'll take Pittsburgh road favorite. I think they're starting
- 1:35:44Speaker 8: to put a little bit of stuff together. I think
- 1:35:46Speaker 8: they're tough. There's a weather situation, thank you.
- 1:35:53Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm taking Pittsburgh both ways. That the Browns have
- 1:35:55Speaker 5: not been competitive for a couple of weeks now, and
- 1:35:57Speaker 5: I keep on thinking that the Steelers are gonna slip
- 1:36:00Speaker 5: up here, and they just don't. So I'm taking Pittsburgh.
- 1:36:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:36:03Speaker 3: I'm taking Pittsburgh both ways too. My only concern would
- 1:36:06Speaker 3: be coming off a huge win short week on the road.
- 1:36:09Speaker 3: But this is more of an anti Cleveland pick. I'll
- 1:36:11Speaker 3: take Pittsburgh both Yeah.
- 1:36:12Speaker 2: This is the kind of team, the kind of game
- 1:36:14Speaker 2: where Tomlin says, you.
- 1:36:16Speaker 4: Know, we're tough, and yeah, according to sources exactly what
- 1:36:19Speaker 4: he's saying, will blanket at I don't know she was
- 1:36:24Speaker 4: going between a blanket and the T shirt. I'm like,
- 1:36:26Speaker 4: get it straight, he says.
- 1:36:28Speaker 2: And now everybody right Sunday CBS one o'clock, the nine
- 1:36:33Speaker 2: and one Chiefs are at the three and seven Panthers.
- 1:36:37Speaker 3: Kansas City by eleven on the road.
- 1:36:40Speaker 4: Eleven.
- 1:36:40Speaker 2: Oh boy.
- 1:36:42Speaker 4: Uh the last week I went against Kansas City right
- 1:36:44Speaker 4: time to finally yeah, to go against them, but I'm
- 1:36:47Speaker 4: back on the chefs. Just a question to lay in
- 1:36:51Speaker 4: that ten and a half. I'm gonna go for it.
- 1:36:53Speaker 4: Let's lay him.
- 1:36:55Speaker 8: I'm gonna lay it to bounce back for the Chiefs.
- 1:36:59Speaker 8: Good placement of opponent for them.
- 1:37:01Speaker 4: Taekwon thornon two on the team, so look practice well.
- 1:37:05Speaker 5: But I don't know if you know he landed in
- 1:37:07Speaker 5: Kansas City and saw that.
- 1:37:10Speaker 2: I was worried.
- 1:37:10Speaker 4: I didn't know if his plane would make it.
- 1:37:12Speaker 5: But he's there. Chiefs both ways.
- 1:37:17Speaker 3: Uh so definitely Kansas City great, as Alex said, great
- 1:37:21Speaker 3: bounce back opponent after the loss. I'm gonna take Carolina
- 1:37:26Speaker 3: with the points because Kansas City just hasn't covered these
- 1:37:29Speaker 3: spreads all year, and I'm gonna go with the balance
- 1:37:32Speaker 3: of the season and say that Carolina finds a way
- 1:37:35Speaker 3: to have a backdoor cover.
- 1:37:38Speaker 2: I was tempted to take the points, but my reasoning
- 1:37:40Speaker 2: for not doing that is Chiefs lost last week, their
- 1:37:45Speaker 2: first loss. Now kind of like pressure is off, so
- 1:37:48Speaker 2: it only it's almost like they're starting a new season
- 1:37:51Speaker 2: here for them, So I think that they actually do
- 1:37:54Speaker 2: cover and have a uncharacteristically twenty twenty four good offensive game, and.
- 1:37:59Speaker 3: That defense could really make life difficult on Bryce Young.
- 1:38:03Speaker 2: One o'clock on Fox, The eight and two Vikings are
- 1:38:06Speaker 2: at the four and six Bears Minnesota by three and
- 1:38:10Speaker 2: a half.
- 1:38:11Speaker 4: O Man, I hate picking Minnesota every week. It's just
- 1:38:15Speaker 4: I can never get a good feel for them, and
- 1:38:18Speaker 4: it's hard to pick Chicago after seeing what they did
- 1:38:20Speaker 4: two weeks ago and then they bounce back. But I'm
- 1:38:23Speaker 4: gonna take Minnesota. I just think they're overall better team
- 1:38:25Speaker 4: and they've got the more well developed talent at this point.
- 1:38:29Speaker 7: On later points, I'm gonna take the Vikings both ways,
- 1:38:32Speaker 7: and I don't have an elaboration.
- 1:38:35Speaker 3: Two games in already out of gas, I'm I'm not
- 1:38:39Speaker 3: sure I'm gonna take the Vikings for sure, but I'm
- 1:38:43Speaker 3: gonna take the Bears to the cover.
- 1:38:44Speaker 5: You know, these divisional games sometimes they get close and
- 1:38:47Speaker 5: they get weird. I'm gonna say it's a field goal
- 1:38:49Speaker 5: game and.
- 1:38:51Speaker 3: I'm gonna take it a step further and take the
- 1:38:53Speaker 3: Bears to pull an upset.
- 1:38:56Speaker 5: And he's trying to make up ground.
- 1:38:58Speaker 3: It's more about sam Donold. I think he's not been
- 1:39:01Speaker 3: the same the last, you know, consistently, the last couple
- 1:39:04Speaker 3: of weeks. And I think Chicago at home, I think
- 1:39:07Speaker 3: they look like they put together a better performance last week,
- 1:39:12Speaker 3: and I think they'll do it again.
- 1:39:13Speaker 2: I'm gonna go with the Vikings here. I think Brian
- 1:39:16Speaker 2: Flores himself has a sack in this game. One o'clock
- 1:39:19Speaker 2: on CBS, the two and eight Titans are at the
- 1:39:22Speaker 2: seven and four Texans. Uh, Houston by eight?
- 1:39:29Speaker 4: Oh Joe, Yeah, they were so he's just pretty fired up, right, Fred?
- 1:39:33Speaker 7: Was that was you?
- 1:39:33Speaker 4: Were you the one that was bothering there? They were too,
- 1:39:35Speaker 4: They were too excited.
- 1:39:36Speaker 2: Yeah, the sideline, very excited on the sideline.
- 1:39:39Speaker 3: Fred wasn't having that fun. Police was out.
- 1:39:43Speaker 4: I think they keep rolling, especially at home. I'll I'll
- 1:39:45Speaker 4: take Houston.
- 1:39:46Speaker 8: I'll lay the points Betweet.
- 1:39:52Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm gonna take Houston both ways. I just think
- 1:39:54Speaker 5: the Titans kind of stank.
- 1:39:57Speaker 3: Oh man, Yeah, I don't think Houston's played all that
- 1:40:02Speaker 3: well offensively. They have to try to get that offense
- 1:40:05Speaker 3: on track. I know they scored thirty four points last week,
- 1:40:08Speaker 3: but that wasn't a thirty four point outing. They had
- 1:40:11Speaker 3: some turnovers. I'll take Houston both ways.
- 1:40:13Speaker 2: I am too Houston both ways. Uh Fox one o'clock,
- 1:40:17Speaker 2: the nine and one Lions are at the five and
- 1:40:20Speaker 2: six Colts, So this is Dutwah by seven and a half.
- 1:40:27Speaker 4: Listening to Evan Lazarre tell me this morning, Anthony Richardson
- 1:40:30Speaker 4: not quite as bad as you might have thought last week,
- 1:40:33Speaker 4: but I don't care.
- 1:40:34Speaker 2: He played really well, but.
- 1:40:36Speaker 4: I'm gonna I'm still gonna stick with Detroit. I just
- 1:40:38Speaker 4: think they are in f you mode and I will
- 1:40:41Speaker 4: lay the seven and a half points.
- 1:40:44Speaker 8: Yeah, me too.
- 1:40:45Speaker 5: Yeah. I was impressed by what I saw from Richardson
- 1:40:48Speaker 5: last week. A lot of design quarterback run stuff that
- 1:40:51Speaker 5: try to get him into the game a little bit,
- 1:40:54Speaker 5: and I thought he made some good throws. But I
- 1:40:56Speaker 5: just think the Lions are a wagon. So I'm gonna
- 1:40:58Speaker 5: take the Lions in this game both ways. But I
- 1:41:00Speaker 5: was impressed for next week with the Patriots that Anthony
- 1:41:03Speaker 5: Richardson I thought looked a lot better.
- 1:41:05Speaker 3: And this is another one of those examples. There's evidently
- 1:41:08Speaker 3: a thing. The team that plays Detroit the following week
- 1:41:11Speaker 3: gets eviscerated. Oh yeah, except for when Tennessee did it.
- 1:41:17Speaker 3: Who Tennessee played the.
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: Week after they played Detroit?
- 1:41:19Speaker 4: I don't remember Patriots.
- 1:41:21Speaker 3: Oh so this is setting up the Colts coming to
- 1:41:24Speaker 3: town next week. I'm going to take Detroit both ways, folks.
- 1:41:29Speaker 2: This is your point spread lock of the week. Colts
- 1:41:33Speaker 2: cover in this game, even though the Blonds win.
- 1:41:37Speaker 3: I thought about taking the hook.
- 1:41:38Speaker 5: You should have threw the ball.
- 1:41:39Speaker 2: Well. One o'clock on CBS, the four and six Buccaneers
- 1:41:43Speaker 2: are at the two and eight Giants Bucks by six.
- 1:41:47Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:41:47Speaker 4: I was gonna say my sheets three and a half.
- 1:41:49Speaker 4: Only that was way too low. Uh yeah. Things falling apart,
- 1:41:54Speaker 4: by the way for the Yeah, see them talking to
- 1:41:57Speaker 4: Drew Locke about it. He seems as befuddled. I was interesting, Paul,
- 1:42:00Speaker 4: real quick aside. You talk a lot about the New
- 1:42:03Speaker 4: York media, and I watched an interview with Drew Locke,
- 1:42:05Speaker 4: and they were right on him of like, I mean,
- 1:42:07Speaker 4: when you signed here, you thought you were the backup,
- 1:42:08Speaker 4: and you know you could see the conflict in him
- 1:42:10Speaker 4: of how to answer these questions and yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:42:13Speaker 4: I mean I am kind of thinking that, you know,
- 1:42:15Speaker 4: they they got him good.
- 1:42:16Speaker 3: Here we would have been asking the backup quarterback about
- 1:42:18Speaker 3: the backside.
- 1:42:19Speaker 4: So yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna go with bigger bakes
- 1:42:22Speaker 4: and I will uh yeah, I'm gonna lay those six points.
- 1:42:27Speaker 8: Yeah, I'm gonna take the Bucks. Giants are just weird
- 1:42:31Speaker 8: to me.
- 1:42:31Speaker 2: A lot of decent size spreads this week.
- 1:42:34Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm gonna take the Bucks. I'm gonna take them
- 1:42:37Speaker 5: both ways, but I'm tempted to take the Giants to cover.
- 1:42:40Speaker 5: But I the decision to bench Daniel Jones and go
- 1:42:43Speaker 5: to Tommy DeVito has not gone over well. It doesn't
- 1:42:47Speaker 5: feel like in New York, and I'm worried that for
- 1:42:50Speaker 5: a dable that that might have lost in the locker
- 1:42:52Speaker 5: room a little bit. So that's why I'm not gonna take.
- 1:42:54Speaker 3: I absolutely agree, and I don't have any problem with
- 1:42:57Speaker 3: benching Jones mean either for business reasons, and I know
- 1:43:00Speaker 3: that's why they did it so he doesn't get hurt
- 1:43:02Speaker 3: and they don't. They're not on the hook for that guarantee,
- 1:43:04Speaker 3: But why not Drew Locke? Like that doesn't make any
- 1:43:08Speaker 3: sense to me. It's almost like it's a twin bill.
- 1:43:10Speaker 3: It's we're gonna do what's not in the best interest
- 1:43:12Speaker 3: of winning games by taking the quarterback out for financial reasons,
- 1:43:16Speaker 3: but we're also not going to put the guy in
- 1:43:18Speaker 3: who gives us the better chance to win because we
- 1:43:20Speaker 3: want to lose. Yeah, it's like both Yeah, I got
- 1:43:23Speaker 3: Tampa both ways because of what Evan says. I think
- 1:43:26Speaker 3: the Giants' locker.
- 1:43:26Speaker 2: Room is me too, buckering the same Buccaneers both ways.
- 1:43:30Speaker 2: One o'clock on Fox, the three and seven Cowboys are
- 1:43:33Speaker 2: at the seven and four Commanders. Cowboys finally have a
- 1:43:37Speaker 2: non prime game.
- 1:43:38Speaker 3: Uh, they'll be back. Unfortunately, Washington by ten and a half.
- 1:43:43Speaker 4: Ten and a half, that seems like a lot. I'm
- 1:43:48Speaker 4: gonna take Washington to win at home. That's just a
- 1:43:51Speaker 4: lot of points for a divisional game, even if Dallas
- 1:43:53Speaker 4: is stinking. So I'm gonna take the points for Dallas.
- 1:43:56Speaker 2: Please.
- 1:43:59Speaker 8: I'm just gonna rip it Commanders both ways.
- 1:44:02Speaker 2: It just rip it.
- 1:44:05Speaker 5: I Normally would side would do such a big spread
- 1:44:07Speaker 5: in a divisional game, But the Cowboys just haven't been
- 1:44:09Speaker 5: competitive in their games. So I'm going to take the
- 1:44:12Speaker 5: Commanders both ways. I just think the Cowboys stink.
- 1:44:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:44:15Speaker 3: I also think Washington, you know, been off ten days.
- 1:44:18Speaker 3: They need to get back on track. Lost two in
- 1:44:20Speaker 3: a row. Maybe Jade and dais a little healthier. I'll
- 1:44:23Speaker 3: take Washington both ways.
- 1:44:25Speaker 2: I will take the points Cowboys cover. All right, we
- 1:44:29Speaker 2: skip over the Patriots and we moved to four oh
- 1:44:32Speaker 2: five on CBS. The six and five Broncos are a
- 1:44:37Speaker 2: rare road game. At the two and eight Raiders, it's
- 1:44:41Speaker 2: not far from home, though.
- 1:44:44Speaker 3: Denver By he always adds a wrinkle to it that
- 1:44:46Speaker 3: makes me laugh. Denver By six.
- 1:44:49Speaker 4: Yeah, we talked a little bit about Bonix. You know,
- 1:44:52Speaker 4: he's playing pretty well. I think you can see why
- 1:44:55Speaker 4: Sean Payton liked him and how he's fitting into things
- 1:44:57Speaker 4: for them there. So I'm gonna take Denver. Uh, drop
- 1:45:00Speaker 4: Vegas another one. I'll lay the six points from Denver.
- 1:45:03Speaker 7: Take Denver, lay the points. The reason is I don't
- 1:45:06Speaker 7: like the Raiders. One of my irrational gripes, like Fred has.
- 1:45:09Speaker 4: Does not have to be irrational?
- 1:45:10Speaker 2: What's the reasoning? Why don't you like the Raiders?
- 1:45:15Speaker 7: A lot of reasons I think they should have, just
- 1:45:18Speaker 7: like I don't know. I don't like just plopping all
- 1:45:22Speaker 7: these teams in Vegas and just it's not their fault,
- 1:45:24Speaker 7: I know, but but there's a lot of reasons too.
- 1:45:26Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 1:45:27Speaker 3: Okay, it's kind of their fault.
- 1:45:29Speaker 2: They wanted to go there, But I don't know. But
- 1:45:32Speaker 2: is that really the reason? Just ye, no, I don't.
- 1:45:36Speaker 8: I just don't respect the readers. I don't respect them, Okay,
- 1:45:39Speaker 8: I don't know why?
- 1:45:40Speaker 2: All right?
- 1:45:41Speaker 5: Fair enough?
- 1:45:41Speaker 4: It seems like a deep dive.
- 1:45:42Speaker 3: Imagine Fred asking someone why, How ironic is that?
- 1:45:48Speaker 8: That's why I called it?
- 1:45:50Speaker 4: Yeah, you might need an essay in the newsletter.
- 1:45:55Speaker 3: You hate for reasons sometimes, but you have a lot
- 1:45:57Speaker 3: of irrational hate.
- 1:45:59Speaker 2: Well you do. I have the reason, but maybe it's irrational,
- 1:46:05Speaker 2: you know, like there's always a reason, you know what
- 1:46:08Speaker 2: I mean, there's never like oh, just because there's sometimes
- 1:46:11Speaker 2: a reason. You may not think the reason is worthy
- 1:46:15Speaker 2: of the hate, but that's your your opinion.
- 1:46:18Speaker 5: I'm not buying the Bonnick stuff. It feels very mac
- 1:46:22Speaker 5: Jones Rookie year to me, like really good head coach
- 1:46:25Speaker 5: that's managing him through these games. But I don't like
- 1:46:28Speaker 5: the Raiders either, So I'm going to take Denver in
- 1:46:30Speaker 5: this game, and I'll take the Raiders to cover. Though
- 1:46:33Speaker 5: I thought Minshew was was a little little frisky last
- 1:46:35Speaker 5: week against Miami. I didn't think he played poorly.
- 1:46:39Speaker 3: I think it'll be a little different against the Broncos
- 1:46:41Speaker 3: defense for your frisky quarterback. I think this is a
- 1:46:44Speaker 3: huge game for the Broncos, a game on the road
- 1:46:47Speaker 3: that they quote unquote should win. Let's see where they are.
- 1:46:51Speaker 3: I'll take Denver both ways.
- 1:46:52Speaker 2: I'll take Denver, but not to cover the Raiders cover
- 1:46:56Speaker 2: in this AFC.
- 1:46:57Speaker 5: How about bron Bowers And I do.
- 1:46:58Speaker 3: Have to say, you know, I was critical of other
- 1:47:01Speaker 3: people and not coming back. I think bo Nicks I
- 1:47:04Speaker 3: thought he coming out. I thought he's stunk. I thought
- 1:47:06Speaker 3: he was a second round pick at best. He's played
- 1:47:08Speaker 3: really well, and you know.
- 1:47:11Speaker 2: Sean Payton for that a lot of it.
- 1:47:13Speaker 3: But I give the coaches a lot of credit for
- 1:47:15Speaker 3: how they handle these young guys because nobody comes into
- 1:47:18Speaker 3: the league ready to do it all by themselves, so
- 1:47:21Speaker 3: they need good structure. And I think Sean Payton's done
- 1:47:23Speaker 3: a good job with them.
- 1:47:24Speaker 2: Absolutely. Four on Fox, the five and five forty nine
- 1:47:28Speaker 2: Ers are at the seven to three Packers Green Bay
- 1:47:31Speaker 2: by one and a half.
- 1:47:33Speaker 4: Oh no, this is a good game. This feels yeah,
- 1:47:35Speaker 4: I mean this is this is the closest spare we had,
- 1:47:37Speaker 4: But you know this, this feels like a good one.
- 1:47:39Speaker 4: Little little old school little history there of course.
- 1:47:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:47:43Speaker 4: I think it's a coin flip a little with these
- 1:47:45Speaker 4: two teams. But San Francisco should be peaking. Shoot, I'm
- 1:47:48Speaker 4: gonna take San Francisco on the road. I'm gonna go
- 1:47:51Speaker 4: for it. I'll take them with the upset, yep, upset.
- 1:47:55Speaker 5: My guy, Kyle's not doing so hot right now. This
- 1:47:58Speaker 5: is not the season that they invented, envisioned in San Francisco.
- 1:48:01Speaker 5: I didn't think b Rock Party played very well last
- 1:48:03Speaker 5: week either, So I'm gonna take the Packers in this
- 1:48:06Speaker 5: game at home to win. I something's off with the
- 1:48:09Speaker 5: forty nine Ers. I can't really put my finger on it,
- 1:48:13Speaker 5: but it seems like all their guys have come back,
- 1:48:14Speaker 5: but maybe a little bit too late, you know, and
- 1:48:17Speaker 5: the season sort of off the rails already.
- 1:48:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm going to do the same. I agree that
- 1:48:22Speaker 3: Deebo doesn't look good. I know they don't have a
- 1:48:24Speaker 3: You know what happened is you were complimentary of pretty
- 1:48:27Speaker 3: much I did that.
- 1:48:29Speaker 5: Yeah, I'll take I'll take the pack Horse Engineer.
- 1:48:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna take the forty nine ers to win
- 1:48:34Speaker 2: the game. I just I think every once in a
- 1:48:37Speaker 2: while this year, they're gonna have a good game just
- 1:48:39Speaker 2: because of their talent. So this is one of those
- 1:48:42Speaker 2: four to twenty five Fox. The six and four Cardinals
- 1:48:45Speaker 2: are at the five and five Seahawks.
- 1:48:48Speaker 3: Seattle by one.
- 1:48:49Speaker 5: That's a tough one.
- 1:48:49Speaker 4: Oh, this is another good one NFC West matchup. I
- 1:48:53Speaker 4: love Seattle at home, but Arizona's playing well. I think
- 1:48:57Speaker 4: they they've got a lot of respect. Trae McBride another
- 1:49:00Speaker 4: tight end who's coming on and playing well. Shoot, I'm
- 1:49:04Speaker 4: gonna go Arizona. I'll do the same thing I did
- 1:49:06Speaker 4: last time with San Francisco. I'll take the upset.
- 1:49:13Speaker 8: This is one too that I'm conflicted.
- 1:49:15Speaker 7: My got saying Cardinals, my brain is saying Seahawks, and
- 1:49:22Speaker 7: I feel like it's bad vibes to pick two upsets
- 1:49:24Speaker 7: in a row. So I will go with the what's
- 1:49:26Speaker 7: your heart saying my heart could not care less.
- 1:49:29Speaker 2: The heart wants, the heart wants.
- 1:49:32Speaker 3: Seattle at home, Seattle at home.
- 1:49:37Speaker 4: This is uh.
- 1:49:38Speaker 5: I love watching both of these offenses.
- 1:49:39Speaker 2: I don't know which one owns the other on this
- 1:49:41Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:49:42Speaker 5: Either, but I both these offenses I think are really
- 1:49:45Speaker 5: well designed and fun to watch. And I'm excited to
- 1:49:48Speaker 5: watch this game afterwards. But I'm gonna go Seahawks at home.
- 1:49:52Speaker 5: I just think that they they're ryan high after that
- 1:49:55Speaker 5: win last week over San Francisco's. I'll take the Seahawks,
- 1:49:58Speaker 5: but I think both these coordinators are doing really good job.
- 1:50:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna take Arizona. I think they're They've played
- 1:50:05Speaker 3: better than Seattle over the course of the season. I
- 1:50:07Speaker 3: think they'll continue to do that. And I think that
- 1:50:09Speaker 3: the way they play is going to be travels.
- 1:50:12Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:50:13Speaker 3: They're a physical team. They like to run the ball
- 1:50:16Speaker 3: with Connor and Maury's played really well.
- 1:50:18Speaker 2: Yeah he has. It's a tough one. This really is spread. Yeah,
- 1:50:23Speaker 2: I'm gonna take the Cardinals. Have been with them all year,
- 1:50:27Speaker 2: so I'll stick with them. Sunday Night A twenty on
- 1:50:31Speaker 2: nb Universo, Telexitos and Peacock. The eight and two Eagles
- 1:50:38Speaker 2: are at the five and five Rams. Rams coming off
- 1:50:41Speaker 2: huge win.
- 1:50:42Speaker 3: Yeah, back to back huge primetime games at Sofar this weekend.
- 1:50:48Speaker 3: Two decent matchups, not great matches, but decent. The Eagles
- 1:50:52Speaker 3: by two and a half six.
- 1:50:53Speaker 5: In a row over Philly streaking what's six of the six?
- 1:50:58Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I know that's and I always have trouble
- 1:51:00Speaker 4: with this, Like you see the Rams come in and
- 1:51:02Speaker 4: their offense looks really good against Patriots team, and it's like,
- 1:51:04Speaker 4: how are these guys not better than what their record
- 1:51:07Speaker 4: indicates they are.
- 1:51:07Speaker 3: And most of those guys haven't played most of the year.
- 1:51:09Speaker 4: That's correct, right, No, yeah, I know, but that's what
- 1:51:11Speaker 4: you know. So I think I'm gonna go with the
- 1:51:15Speaker 4: Rams here. Lots I like about Philly, but I still
- 1:51:18Speaker 4: just think there's some there's some things not quite totally
- 1:51:22Speaker 4: right there. I'm gonna go with the Rams as home dogs.
- 1:51:25Speaker 8: I'm gonna take Philly both ways.
- 1:51:29Speaker 5: I like the Rams here too. I think the thing
- 1:51:31Speaker 5: is off about the Eagles to me is their coaching.
- 1:51:33Speaker 5: I still don't trust their coaching on offense, especially, and
- 1:51:37Speaker 5: I think this is another one of those games prime
- 1:51:38Speaker 5: time McVeigh Stafford. I think they show their their metal
- 1:51:43Speaker 5: in this game.
- 1:51:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I think the Eagles are a better team. But
- 1:51:46Speaker 3: I'm going to root for my boy, Matthew Stafford. So
- 1:51:49Speaker 3: I'm just gonna take the law and I'm going to
- 1:51:51Speaker 3: just go with I'm gonna use Alex's advice and go
- 1:51:54Speaker 3: with my heart to your heart.
- 1:51:58Speaker 8: Oh, speaking of your love of Stafford. That reminded me.
- 1:52:02Speaker 8: I was on Claire's podcast today. I just wanted to shout,
- 1:52:04Speaker 8: shout out clip.
- 1:52:08Speaker 4: Anymore.
- 1:52:09Speaker 5: You remember she used to she's she's busy promoting her
- 1:52:13Speaker 5: own she's she's famous.
- 1:52:16Speaker 4: Now we pay her to call in now because she's.
- 1:52:18Speaker 2: You know, uh, just another one. I I have no idea.
- 1:52:21Speaker 2: I'm going to go with the Eagles. I've been picking
- 1:52:24Speaker 2: against them a lot this year and I've been wrong,
- 1:52:26Speaker 2: so I'll give them this week. They'll probably prove me
- 1:52:30Speaker 2: wrong again. But take the Eagles over the Rams, all right?
- 1:52:34Speaker 2: Monday night, eight fifteen on ESPN, ABC, ESPN two, and
- 1:52:39Speaker 2: ESPN Deportes. The seven and four Ravens are at the
- 1:52:43Speaker 2: seven and three Chargers.
- 1:52:45Speaker 3: The Brothers correct Harball Bowl and Baltimore by two and
- 1:52:50Speaker 3: a half.
- 1:52:52Speaker 4: Also, it's a tough one. I like Baltimore just last
- 1:52:56Speaker 4: week it was, like I said, it was so them
- 1:52:58Speaker 4: like I you know, you get on board, you feel
- 1:52:59Speaker 4: like they're humming and it's gonna all go great, and
- 1:53:01Speaker 4: then all of a sudden they lose to a team
- 1:53:02Speaker 4: that you might not think that they should have lost to.
- 1:53:05Speaker 4: No disrespect to the Steelers.
- 1:53:07Speaker 2: Sounded like a lot of disrespect.
- 1:53:08Speaker 4: Actually maybe it was. That's just my open the.
- 1:53:10Speaker 3: Team ahead of the other one, wasn't.
- 1:53:13Speaker 5: I just feel like the rasource isn't going to give
- 1:53:15Speaker 5: us information anymore, alienating the sources.
- 1:53:20Speaker 4: You know what, I'm gonna go with the lack at home.
- 1:53:22Speaker 4: I think they play a similar kind of tough brand
- 1:53:24Speaker 4: of football the Baltimore and I think got a little
- 1:53:26Speaker 4: Ravens skid here.
- 1:53:30Speaker 8: I'm going to predict a Ravens bounce back on the road.
- 1:53:34Speaker 8: Take them both ways.
- 1:53:36Speaker 7: Happy for the Harbaugh family to all get together before Thanksgiving.
- 1:53:39Speaker 7: It's really nice of the week.
- 1:53:40Speaker 5: It's a great point out.
- 1:53:42Speaker 4: Do you think you'll fly back or actually it was
- 1:53:44Speaker 4: like the gyms will still living in like a looking.
- 1:53:47Speaker 3: Like an ran the river blows.
- 1:53:50Speaker 2: I love that.
- 1:53:51Speaker 5: Was it a bungalow balow?
- 1:53:54Speaker 2: Yeah? Price, L l A.
- 1:53:57Speaker 8: Bungalows are nice, right, thank you.
- 1:54:00Speaker 5: I'm going to take the Ravens in this game. I
- 1:54:03Speaker 5: like what I've seen from the Chargers. I'm just not
- 1:54:05Speaker 5: sure if they're quite there. And Baltimore needs to get
- 1:54:08Speaker 5: back on track after last week. So I will say though,
- 1:54:12Speaker 5: when Justin Herbert was running down the field on a
- 1:54:14Speaker 5: scramble the other day, I did a double take and
- 1:54:17Speaker 5: thought it was Drake mank and it was fantastic all
- 1:54:21Speaker 5: right then and there, and it made me feel something. Yeah,
- 1:54:25Speaker 5: where did you feel it? No comment?
- 1:54:29Speaker 3: So I'm a little worried that I'm agreeing with some
- 1:54:32Speaker 3: of the points that Evan's making so much. I agree
- 1:54:35Speaker 3: everything you said about the Chargers. I'm really impressed with
- 1:54:37Speaker 3: the team, but I'm just not I don't know if
- 1:54:39Speaker 3: they're ready for a step up in weight class.
- 1:54:41Speaker 2: So I'm going to take Baltimore. I think Jim has
- 1:54:44Speaker 2: John right where he wants him. I'm going to take
- 1:54:47Speaker 2: the Chargers. Did I get that right? Yeah?
- 1:54:54Speaker 5: All right?
- 1:54:55Speaker 2: Now we go back. It's a Sunday at one on CBS.
- 1:54:59Speaker 2: The three and eight Patriots, who the team No one
- 1:55:02Speaker 2: wants to play, are at Miami playing the four and
- 1:55:06Speaker 2: six Dolphins Miami by seven and a half.
- 1:55:09Speaker 5: That's disrespectful.
- 1:55:11Speaker 4: Sure is, it's a lot of points.
- 1:55:13Speaker 2: Sure is, it's like those movies.
- 1:55:17Speaker 3: It sounded like the Beef.
- 1:55:20Speaker 2: Dad's gonna creemy on account I didn't do my homework
- 1:55:23Speaker 2: past perfect. That was absolutely perfect.
- 1:55:28Speaker 3: That could actually be a line of dialogue from that show.
- 1:55:31Speaker 2: Trust me. I grew up with lead a de beaber.
- 1:55:33Speaker 5: Ah leave it's a beam the name of that show.
- 1:55:38Speaker 4: My confidence is not high with this Patriots defense going
- 1:55:41Speaker 4: against this Miami offense. I heard him talk about speed
- 1:55:44Speaker 4: all week. That's it's gonna be a challenge for them.
- 1:55:47Speaker 4: I think two was gonna If it does what Toua does,
- 1:55:49Speaker 4: he's gonna have a day. I've got Miami thirty three,
- 1:55:52Speaker 4: twenty four.
- 1:55:57Speaker 7: Miami thirty four, back door cover by the Pats twenty seven.
- 1:56:03Speaker 4: Oh look at that parts.
- 1:56:05Speaker 5: I like where alex Is head is that I'm gonna
- 1:56:07Speaker 5: go a little bit lower scoring thirty one twenty three Miami,
- 1:56:11Speaker 5: But I like where your head's at in terms of
- 1:56:14Speaker 5: potentially a backdoor cover opportunity here for the Patriots. I
- 1:56:18Speaker 5: definitely worry about the Patriots defense against this Miami offense.
- 1:56:22Speaker 5: I think the key to the game for the Patriots
- 1:56:23Speaker 5: is to try to shorten it. If they can make
- 1:56:26Speaker 5: the Dolphins march, you know, have to go ten, twelve, fifteen,
- 1:56:29Speaker 5: play drive to score, then maybe they can keep this
- 1:56:32Speaker 5: thing in the twenties. But if you just look at
- 1:56:34Speaker 5: the matchup on paper, I don't see how the Patriots
- 1:56:36Speaker 5: defense stops the Dolphins very much.
- 1:56:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I kind of see it similar to everybody else.
- 1:56:41Speaker 3: I'm gonna take the hook. I will take Miami to win,
- 1:56:44Speaker 3: but I'll take the that half point thirty to twenty three.
- 1:56:48Speaker 3: I think Drake may gets sort of in a shootout
- 1:56:50Speaker 3: adjacent but can't quite keep up because he doesn't have
- 1:56:54Speaker 3: what Tua has to help him do it.
- 1:56:57Speaker 5: I said thirty one, I'm at thirty one. I'm at
- 1:56:59Speaker 5: your score.
- 1:57:00Speaker 2: Oh so you're taking the points?
- 1:57:01Speaker 5: Yeah, thirty one, twenty four back door cover.
- 1:57:06Speaker 2: Okay. I'd love to say Tua in this game.
- 1:57:10Speaker 3: Well that's a pause. You might hear that again on Sunday,
- 1:57:15Speaker 3: but I can't.
- 1:57:16Speaker 4: Ta Yeah, oh, Tua, I got you, all right, But.
- 1:57:22Speaker 2: The Dolphins prevail.
- 1:57:24Speaker 4: But what are you doing on Patriots?
- 1:57:26Speaker 2: For the first time this season, hit the thirty mark
- 1:57:29Speaker 2: thirty five thirty Dolphins win the game.
- 1:57:32Speaker 5: That would be a fun one yeap, all right, so.
- 1:57:36Speaker 2: That's gonna be it. That's it, everything's in.
- 1:57:38Speaker 3: We had had three minutes.
- 1:57:41Speaker 2: Hayes in the barn. Any closing thoughts as people enter
- 1:57:46Speaker 2: into the weekend.
- 1:57:48Speaker 8: I got one, Yeah, do some media on media crime?
- 1:57:51Speaker 2: Oh no, please for me, not you do?
- 1:57:55Speaker 5: Please do it?
- 1:57:56Speaker 3: I know the story, go ahead.
- 1:57:57Speaker 2: What happened?
- 1:57:58Speaker 7: I was doing a one on one yesterday interview outside
- 1:58:02Speaker 7: of the locker room. I was interrupted mid interview, mid
- 1:58:07Speaker 7: player thought for just like some small talk for I'm
- 1:58:12Speaker 7: not going to call it the reporter. I'm not gonna
- 1:58:13Speaker 7: call it outlet, but they were experienced, They've been.
- 1:58:16Speaker 8: Doing this a while.
- 1:58:18Speaker 2: And respectful.
- 1:58:19Speaker 8: Does that like.
- 1:58:22Speaker 7: Trying to get an interview the players in the middle
- 1:58:24Speaker 7: of like a long, really thoughtful answer and this reporter
- 1:58:27Speaker 7: just like came in to shake his hand, and is.
- 1:58:30Speaker 2: There any is there any? Is there any chance that
- 1:58:33Speaker 2: the reporter just heard the silence and moved in and
- 1:58:36Speaker 2: didn't know that you were in the middle.
- 1:58:38Speaker 7: Because the player was I have the recording mid answer,
- 1:58:41Speaker 7: and it totally threw him off the game.
- 1:58:43Speaker 8: He had to be like, wait, what was the question? Toge,
- 1:58:44Speaker 8: I'm so sorry.
- 1:58:45Speaker 2: Yes, did you say anything to this person?
- 1:58:47Speaker 8: So this is what I want you guys to advice on.
- 1:58:50Speaker 8: Back in the day, your heads prevail.
- 1:58:52Speaker 7: So I wanted to give it some time, and I
- 1:58:54Speaker 7: didn't want I didn't want to like.
- 1:58:57Speaker 8: Look like a B word in front of the player
- 1:58:59Speaker 8: and be like, what the effort you doing? I'm trying
- 1:59:01Speaker 8: to conduct an interview?
- 1:59:04Speaker 5: The hell are you doing?
- 1:59:06Speaker 8: And would you do that if it were any like?
- 1:59:08Speaker 3: I don't know, so that would be my second part
- 1:59:10Speaker 3: of the question is would the reporter have interrupted.
- 1:59:14Speaker 8: And I don't want to play or the team employee.
- 1:59:19Speaker 3: Would they've interrupted Karen Gregian doing that?
- 1:59:23Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:59:23Speaker 3: No, they wouldn't have. They did it because there was
- 1:59:25Speaker 3: a Patriots employee. They knew that and they figured they could.
- 1:59:29Speaker 8: That's right, That's not right.
- 1:59:32Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't And it wasn't like.
- 1:59:35Speaker 7: Small talk with the player. We're outside of the locker
- 1:59:38Speaker 7: room doing like recorder literally like that.
- 1:59:43Speaker 2: I don't. I don't know if it happens as much
- 1:59:45Speaker 2: as it used to. But back in the day, when
- 1:59:47Speaker 2: you'd have the big scrums, sometimes you'd have jostling in
- 1:59:50Speaker 2: the back with like a writer that would get in
- 1:59:52Speaker 2: front of a camera and the bump them in the
- 1:59:55Speaker 2: head hands.
- 1:59:57Speaker 5: Ye, yeah, the killing.
- 2:00:01Speaker 2: Sometimes you know, they'd be close to skirmish is breaking out.
- 2:00:07Speaker 5: So there's that used to The new setup helps with
- 2:00:11Speaker 5: that now that we're doing video only in the REVS
- 2:00:13Speaker 5: locker room, Yeah, it definitely avoids that those types of.
- 2:00:17Speaker 3: But what used to happen a lot is kind of
- 2:00:20Speaker 3: what Alex is talking about. There'd be scrums everywhere, and
- 2:00:22Speaker 3: then some people would say I don't really have any
- 2:00:25Speaker 3: interested in the scrum, and they'd go over and talk
- 2:00:27Speaker 3: to somebody on their own, and all of a sudden,
- 2:00:29Speaker 3: the scrub would end, and you know, three or four
- 2:00:32Speaker 3: people from the scrum, Oh, he's I didn't invite you
- 2:00:36Speaker 3: to this, right, all right, I'm talking to this guy
- 2:00:38Speaker 3: by myself. I didn't say you guys could come.
- 2:00:40Speaker 2: In, right, you know, But that happens, and that used
- 2:00:43Speaker 2: to be etiquette in general. That's the etiquette.
- 2:00:46Speaker 3: Someone comes over and they'll give you the you know,
- 2:00:48Speaker 3: they'll they'll try to make eye contact with you to
- 2:00:50Speaker 3: see if it's okay.
- 2:00:52Speaker 8: Before that isn't this guy's first rodeo.
- 2:00:55Speaker 5: This happens all the time.
- 2:00:56Speaker 2: Should be said something should be said, and you said
- 2:00:59Speaker 2: it was a veteran. Oh yeah, veteran camera person or
- 2:01:02Speaker 2: writer writer? Oh even worse, I don't know who it is,
- 2:01:05Speaker 2: but I think I know who it is. Okay, all right,
