- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we have some more news
- 0:08on the congressional subpoena front, as we're now adding Leslie Groff,
- 0:14Sarah Kellen, Leon Black, Doug Band, and Ted Waite, the
- 0:19former boyfriend of Glenn Maxwell to the list. And of
- 0:23course we talked about Katherine Rummler and Howard Lutnik previously,
- 0:28so these are added on to that. And again I
- 0:32don't expect much from Congress, but it'll be interesting at
- 0:36least to see people get put under oath. And as
- 0:39far as Sarah Kelln goes or Leslie Groff, I highly
- 0:43doubt that either of them are going to put themselves
- 0:46into legal jeopardy by incriminating themselves in front of Congress.
- 0:51So I doubt that Leslie Groff and Sarah Kellen are
- 0:56ever going to show up. Now, maybe if you subpoena
- 0:59them and you try and compel them to do so,
- 1:03but short of that asking them to come, okay, I guess,
- 1:08but if you know anything about the case, you know
- 1:10that both of them have a whole lot to lose,
- 1:13more to lose than just about anybody else in Jeffrey
- 1:16Epstein's whole circle. Considering the scope and the length of
- 1:20time that they were both with Epstein, and according to
- 1:23all the reports we've heard though, both of them were
- 1:26key components in his criminal enterprise. So it's not like
- 1:30those two were just you know, hanging around. They weren't
- 1:33just invited to a party. And there's a reason that
- 1:37the both of them were given protection under the NPA
- 1:41because Epstein and his lawyers knew that they were dead
- 1:44to rights. If the federal government pursued the case the
- 1:47way they should have pursued the case, then everybody would
- 1:50have been charged. So that's why you see them get
- 1:54the non prosecution agreement as basically a payoff to remain quiet. Now,
- 2:00of course there was a financial component all of that
- 2:02as well, and both of them received a ton of
- 2:05money from Jeffrey Epstein. So I have some doubts about
- 2:08either of them showing up willingly. And if you want
- 2:12to talk to the core of four, my guess is
- 2:14you're going to have to compel them to be there
- 2:17under subpoena. All right. So this article was published by
- 2:21CBS News and the headline Bill Gates among seven asked
- 2:25to testify before House Committee on possible Epstein ties. This
- 2:30article was authored by Faris Tanyos. Microsoft co founder Bill
- 2:36Gates is among seven people who on Tuesday were asked
- 2:40to testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee
- 2:43regarding its ongoing investigation into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
- 2:49The six others are Leslie Groff, a former longtime executive
- 2:53assistant to Epstein, Sarah Kellen, another former Epstein employee, Katherine
- 2:59Rumler for White House Council to former President Barack Obama,
- 3:03Leon Black, co founder of Apollo Global Management, Doug Band,
- 3:07a longtime personal aid and counselor to former President Bill Clinton, who,
- 3:12along with his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton,
- 3:15both testified separate lyon Epstein before the House Oversight Committee
- 3:19last week. And tech billionaire Ted Waite, a former boyfriend
- 3:24of Epstein, associate, co conspirator, all around scusbag, fellow child abuser,
- 3:29and bipeteral serpent. You mean Glenn Maxwell, who attended Chelsea
- 3:32Clinton's twenty ten wedding as a guest of Maxwell. And
- 3:37you notice they say here that Maxwell wasn't the plus one.
- 3:40Ted Waite was in the seven letters House Oversight Committee
- 3:45Chair James Comer writes that the committee believes the recipients
- 3:49have information that will assist in its investigation. Comer explains
- 3:54that the committee is reviewing the alleged mismanagement of the
- 3:57federal government's investigation into Epstein and mac ways, in which
- 4:01Epstein and Maxwell sought to curry favor an exercise influence
- 4:05to protect their legal activities and potential violations of ethics
- 4:09rules related to elected officials. Notice it doesn't talk about
- 4:13how the DOJ needs to be overseen or how there
- 4:16needs to be a look at the FBI. Right, No, no, no,
- 4:21can't have that. That's what they're trying to protect. They
- 4:23got to make sure the institutions keep on humming, even
- 4:27if the institutions are completely broke. The seven were given
- 4:31testimony dates ranging from April sixteenth to June ninth. A
- 4:35spokesperson for Gates indicated that he planned to testify before
- 4:39the committee. Gates welcomes the opportunity to appear before the committee,
- 4:44the spokesperson told CBS News in a statement. While he
- 4:47never witnessed or participated in any of Epstein's legal conduct,
- 4:51he's looking forward to answering all the committee's questions to
- 4:54support their important work. Oh what a hero, What a
- 4:58white knight, what a savior. Give yourself a round of applause,
- 5:02Bill Gates. Meanwhile, this idiot has been lying about his
- 5:05relationship with Jeffrey Epstein for all these years, but all
- 5:08of a sudden, he's just so sorry and he wants
- 5:11to come clean. Jennifer Connolly, a spokesperson for Rumler, told
- 5:15CBS News that Rumbler welcomes the opportunity to appear before
- 5:19the committee. At the time she interacted with Jeffrey Epstein,
- 5:22she was a practicing criminal defense attorney and shared a
- 5:25client with him. The spokesperson said she has done nothing
- 5:29wrong and had no knowledge of any ongoing criminal activity
- 5:32on his part. Well, we talked about her earlier, so
- 5:36we're just gonna keep it moving. It's very obvious that
- 5:40Rumler was very much closer to Jeffrey Epstein than she
- 5:44ever let on, and that she's been lying about her
- 5:47relationship to him for all these years. An attorney for
- 5:51Groff said she had no comment on the letter. Oh
- 5:54I bet not. Like I said, I highly doubt that
- 5:58Leslie Groff wants any to do with being under oath
- 6:02when it comes to Jeffrey Epstein, considering how she benefited
- 6:08and how she grew her wealth on the back of
- 6:10pain and suffering. I'd be pretty scaredify with her too,
- 6:14And I think there are mountains of evidence, circumstantial and
- 6:18otherwise that would easily lead to a grand jury indicting
- 6:23Leslie Groff and Sarah Kelln. CBS News also reached out
- 6:28to black Band and wait for a comment and is
- 6:31attempting to contact Helen. None of the seven have been
- 6:35criminally charged with wrongdoing and connection with Epstein. Nice little qualifier,
- 6:40but do you really think that's the case. Do you
- 6:44really think that none of them have been targeted. If
- 6:47that's the case, then why is Leslie Groff and Sarah
- 6:51Kelln Vickers protected under the NPA? And why to Judge
- 6:55Nathan call Sarah Kelln Vickers a co conspirator an open
- 7:00court so you can save your qualifiers when you're talking
- 7:03about Sarah kell and Vickers. The House request comes after
- 7:08the Justice Department in December began the process of releasing
- 7:11millions of files related to its decades long investigation into Epstein,
- 7:16a wealthy financier pedophile who was accused of running an
- 7:20extensive sex trafficking operation with Maxwell's aid. The tour believed
- 7:24to have victimized dozens of underage girls and women, dozens
- 7:29the Justice Department itself set over a thousand. Where do
- 7:32they get these numbers from? YO? You don't have to
- 7:34be an expert in what's going on in the case,
- 7:38but you should at least have the very basics down right.
- 7:42The Justice Department only released the files after Congress passed
- 7:45a bill in November signed into law by President Trump
- 7:49compelling it to do so. In two thousand and eight,
- 7:52Epstein pleaded guilty in Florida to stay charges of soliciting
- 7:56prostitution in exchange for having a federal case against him
- 8:01charges for soliciting prostitution, not soliciting prostitution from a child, right,
- 8:06not abusing a child, just soliciting prostitution. YO, what's going
- 8:10on with CBS? Is Barry Weiss writing all these articles?
- 8:15Sure seems like it. A New York federal grand jury
- 8:18indicted Epstein on child sex trafficking charges in July of
- 8:22twenty nineteen, but he was found dead weeks later in
- 8:25August twenty nineteen in a Manhattan jail. His cause of
- 8:29death was ruled to suicide, no questions about it, not alleged,
- 8:34not called, but ruled a suicide. So that's the end
- 8:36of it. Maxwell was convicted in twenty twenty one of
- 8:41federal sex trafficking charges and later sentenced to twenty years
- 8:44in prison. The release files, however, have revealed the wealthy
- 8:49financier's deep connection to the rich and powerful that persisted
- 8:53well after his Florida conviction. Last week, Gates apologized to
- 8:58the staff of his philanthrope Big Gates Foundation for his
- 9:01ties to Epstein, which he said began in twenty eleven
- 9:05and continued through twenty fourteen. Imagine knowing what Jeffrey Epstein
- 9:11was and showing up to his house asking for money. Hey,
- 9:14you know, hey, jeff, I was wondering if you wanted
- 9:16to help me save the world. I know you abuse
- 9:18kids and shit, but we're gonna overlook that you got
- 9:21a couple mill for your boy, Like what, you don't
- 9:25have anybody else you can go and get money from nobody,
- 9:28not one single person. I'm pretty sure there's some rich
- 9:31people out there that would love to help you out,
- 9:34even if it's only for tax purposes. But Jeffrey Epstein
- 9:38Bill Gates, nobody believes you, buddy. According to audio of
- 9:43the apology obtained by The Wall Street Journal, Gates told
- 9:46staff he and Epstein shared a private jet together once
- 9:49and spent time in Germany, France, New York, and Washington. Yeah,
- 9:54you know, hardly knew each other. I fly on jets
- 9:57with people all the time who I don't know. I mean,
- 10:01I'm flying commercial. But that's not the point, I guess.
- 10:04Included in the trove of DOJ files where two emails
- 10:08Epstein sent to himself on July eighteenth, twenty thirteen, containing
- 10:13unverified allegations that Gates had extra marital sex with Russian
- 10:17girls that resulted in sexually transmitted disease requiring antibiotic treatment,
- 10:23and one email Epstein claimed Gates also sought surreptitiously to
- 10:29give antibiotics to his then wife, Melinda Gates. Well, that's
- 10:35weird because he did admit that he had those affairs, right,
- 10:41So what do you mean alleged? Pro tip, it's not
- 10:44alleged when it's proved to be a fact. The emails
- 10:49appeared to have been written by Epstein on behalf of
- 10:52an aggrieved employee of Gates who was resigning. Regarding those allegations,
- 10:56agates spokesman told CBS News in January that the claims
- 11:00are absolutely absurd and completely false. The only thing these
- 11:04documents demonstrate is Epstein's frustration that he did not have
- 11:08an ongoing relationship with Gates and the lengthy would go
- 11:11to entrap and to fame them. At last week's town hall,
- 11:16according to the Journal, Gates admitted that he did have affairs,
- 11:20one with a Russian bridge player who he met at
- 11:22bridge events and one with a Russian nuclear physicist who
- 11:26I met through business activities. So he was lying, okay,
- 11:31just like he's been lying about everything that has to
- 11:33do with Jeffrey Epstein. And if you want to believe them, cool,
- 11:37I don't care. Personally, I don't believe the guy at all.
- 11:41Catherine Rumler wrote that she adored Epstein. Rumler served as
- 11:45the White House counselor under Obama from twenty eleven to
- 11:49twenty fourteen, before joining the law firm Lathlam and Watkins
- 11:53in twenty fourteen and then Goleman Sachs in twenty twenty.
- 11:58Rumler appeared several times in the Justice Department's release files,
- 12:02including a December twenty fifteen email exchange in which he
- 12:08wrote that she adored Epstein. How cute, What a great
- 12:12cute couple helicopters volcanoes. In May of twenty fifteen, Epstein
- 12:20asked Rumler if she could get filmmaker Woody Allen and
- 12:23his wife sun Yee a tour of the White House,
- 12:26which took place in December twenty fifteen, according to White
- 12:30House records. Last month, Rumbler announced she would resign from
- 12:34her role as top lawyer for Goldman Sachs in the
- 12:36wake of the release files. Well, the least you could
- 12:40do imagine being one of her colleagues over at Goldman Sachs.
- 12:44Pretty awkward conversation at the coffee machine. So, uh, Kathy,
- 12:48get any chicken noodle soup from Uncle Jeffy Lately. The
- 12:53DJ's documents show that Black, co founder of investment from
- 12:57Apollo Global Management, received advice from Epps on how to
- 13:00keep a six year affair with a Russian woman from
- 13:03going public. In one September twenty fifteen email, Epstein suggested
- 13:09to Black that he hired former law enforcement officers to
- 13:12approach the woman about signing a non disclosure agreement. Choose
- 13:16met that a message delivery my choice too. Highly respected
- 13:20former law enforcement agents fill in the blank, Immigration Scotland
- 13:24Yard SFO, who may knock on the door and present
- 13:28the terms, Epstein wrote. In October of twenty fifteen, the
- 13:32woman signed a non disclosure agreement with Black in which
- 13:37he agreed to pay her one hundred thousand dollars monthly
- 13:40for fifteen years, forgive a one million dollar loan, and
- 13:43provide two million British pounds for her to obtain legal
- 13:47status in the UK. Senate Finance Committee. Documents also showed
- 13:51that Black paid Epstein one hundred and fifty eight million
- 13:54for tax and estate planning services. Black stepped down as
- 13:58chairman and CEO of Apollo in twenty twenty one. A
- 14:02law firm retained by Apollo's board to review Black's dealings
- 14:05with Epstein cleared Black of any possible wrongdoing. Well, he's
- 14:10been cleared Donald Trump's been cleared by Bill Clinton. Bill
- 14:14Clinton's been cleared by Donald Trump. I guess we could
- 14:17just pack it in. Huh, don need to have any subpoenas,
- 14:20no need for an investigation. I mean, I don't know
- 14:23why you're laughing. Have you checked the Dow? I mean
- 14:26it's under fifty thousand, so that means we can talk
- 14:29about Epstein again. Right, wasn't that the barometer that was
- 14:32set by Pam Bondy. Now, as far as the subpoenas look,
- 14:37it's a good step, right, But I have my doubts
- 14:40about what we're gonna learn. Have you learned anything new
- 14:44from any of these depositions yet? I know I haven't.
- 14:47But with that said, we'll keep an open mind and
- 14:50we'll see what happens. And when we have some concrete
- 14:52dates for all these people, we'll get those added to
- 14:55the catalog as well. All Right, everybody that's gonna do
- 14:59it for this one. All the information that goes with
- 15:01this episode can be found in the description box.
