Monday morning, session six, node eight. Aisha Bello's HAZOP team has one drawing on the screen: a high-pressure separator at sixty bar, its liquid draining through a single level control valve into a condensate stabiliser rated for a fraction of that pressure. Over one long session we sit at the table with Aisha, the operator Noor Haddad, the functional safety lead Mariam Al Hosani and Diego Ferrer, and take the node apart guide word by guide word. We hear the worksheet read back, watch the team argue about whether a relief valve can really handle gas blow-by, and follow the worst scenario…
