SPEAKER_01: Everybody was just the support was crazy.

SPEAKER_00: Lindsay is a product manager and passionate Bitcoiner with over a decade of investing experience and three plus years deep in the Bitcoin space.
• 1:48
SPEAKER_00: She started the Uber Chronicle series, a video series where she documented herself.
• 1:53
SPEAKER_00: She documented herself driving Uber and stacking every dollar earned into Bitcoin, which contributed to her becoming a whole Bitcoiner.
• 2:00
  SPEAKER_00: Let's go.
• 2:01
SPEAKER_00: Uh Lindsay, welcome to the show.
• 2:03
  SPEAKER_02: Yes, welcome.
• 2:04
SPEAKER_02: Yes, thanks for having me.
• 2:06
  SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
• 2:07
SPEAKER_02: We're so excited that you were uh able to join us.
• 2:09
SPEAKER_02: And yeah, you have such a great story to share.
• 2:12
SPEAKER_02: So we're excited to get into it.
• 2:14
SPEAKER_02: Um so first off, how did you kind of originally get introduced to Bitcoin?
• 2:18
SPEAKER_02: And yeah, just share a little bit about yourself.
• 2:21
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, sounds good.
• 2:22
SPEAKER_01: Um, first of all, thank you guys for having me.
• 2:24
SPEAKER_01: Um, I love what you are doing.
• 2:25
SPEAKER_01: I love the the husband-wife duo uh podcast, which is super cool.
• 2:30
SPEAKER_01: Um, so my name is Lindsay Stamp, and I um originally just started out investing in traditional assets.
• 2:38
SPEAKER_01: So I got a job out of college in the insurance industry, and I quickly realized that I hated my job.
• 2:45
SPEAKER_01: And I hated getting up every day and going to work.
• 2:48
SPEAKER_01: I had debt, you know, from buying a new Jeep Wrangler and um, you know, just some other dumb stuff that you do when you're young.
• 2:56
SPEAKER_01: And I quickly realized that I was getting up every day to go to work at a job that I hated, to get a paycheck, to pay off like a whole bunch of stuff that I had already bought, you know, I had already bought technically, you know, not really.
• 3:10
SPEAKER_01: Um but and I was like, I need to figure out a way to get out of this.
• 3:14
SPEAKER_01: And that's whenever I um started looking into investing in real estate, investing in the stock market.
• 3:21
SPEAKER_01: And um I started out at 22 years old, um, just maxing out my uh, you know, my 401k, my Roth IRA.
• 3:28
SPEAKER_01: Um, I eventually um got into real estate, bought my first property when I was 24, got into investment real estate a couple of years after that, um, ended up getting um into had like four investment properties, and um I randomly just started posting on on Twitter.
• 3:45
SPEAKER_01: Like I was like, I'm gonna make a Twitter account.
• 3:46
SPEAKER_01: I'm just gonna start posting about my journey, um, posting about traditional finance.
• 3:50
SPEAKER_01: I started doing that for a little while.
• 3:52
SPEAKER_01: And actually, um, one of my friends, his uh his name's Jeff Walton.
• 3:56
SPEAKER_01: I'm sure you you guys know him.
• 3:58
SPEAKER_01: Um he works at Strive now.
• 4:00
SPEAKER_01: Um, but this was before he was Jeff Walton on social media.
• 4:02
SPEAKER_01: He was Punter Jeff on social media and he had like an NFT monkey uh profile picture.
• 4:08
SPEAKER_01: And he only had a couple thousand followers, and it's really funny now looking back because he had less followers than me.
• 4:13
SPEAKER_01: He was like less well known than me at the time, and I was not well known at all.
• 4:17
SPEAKER_01: Um and he was the one that like commented on my post initially when I was posting about Roth IRA and was like, hey, Lindsay, this is great.
• 4:24
SPEAKER_01: Um, but all your all your assets are denominated in fiat.
• 4:27
SPEAKER_01: And, you know, you might have millions of dollars whenever you get to retirement based off of what you're doing now, but um, inflation is eating those dollars away.
• 4:37
SPEAKER_01: And you know, you need to look into Bitcoin.
• 4:40
SPEAKER_01: And initially I kind of like brushed it off, didn't think much of it.
• 4:43
SPEAKER_01: Um, and he was persistent and he reached out to me and he was like, Hey, I'll send you these books, I'll buy them on Amazon, I'll send them to your house, read broken, read the Bitcoin standard.
• 4:53
SPEAKER_01: Um, I was like, I appreciate the offer.
• 4:55
SPEAKER_01: You don't need to buy them for me, I'll buy them myself.
• 4:57
SPEAKER_01: Um, I bought the books.
• 4:58
SPEAKER_01: I was going on a two-week trip to Spain and Portugal, and I took the books with me and um just started reading everything that I could about Bitcoin, and that's kind of what launched me into, you know, as we say, the rabbit hole.
• 5:10
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 5:11
  SPEAKER_01: So awesome.
• 5:12
  SPEAKER_00: Wow, that's awesome.
• 5:13
SPEAKER_00: And it's so it's so wild, right?
• 5:15
SPEAKER_00: Like whenever you create an account on X, and then just like how these doors open, and then just how even like even seeing other people like doors get open for them as well.
• 5:24
SPEAKER_00: Like you said, like he really had any followers, and then he's like working at this big company, and it's just like, what?
• 5:29
SPEAKER_00: Like, and so cool how he was so consistent though, for you like, hey, like here you go, you gotta do this, you gotta do this, you gotta do this, and you're just like, nah, okay.
• 5:38
SPEAKER_00: Um, and then so you would say that those books then is like kind of where like things were a turning point for you where it kind of opened your eyes.
• 5:46
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, for sure.
• 5:47
SPEAKER_01: Like, I would say it was a mixture.
• 5:49
SPEAKER_01: Like, I, you know, I read I read a bunch of books, and I was honestly just like reading anything I could get my hands on, but also listening.
• 5:54
SPEAKER_01: You know, I was like watching YouTube videos, listening to podcasts.
• 5:57
SPEAKER_01: Um, I will say that I knew who uh Chris Johnson was from the wealth squad back then, and I knew that he had recently like totally changed up his approach.
• 6:07
SPEAKER_01: You know, initially he had um a six-figure dividend portfolio paying him over$100,000 a year in dividends.
• 6:13
SPEAKER_01: He was trading the stock market, he had a bunch of real estate properties, and all of a sudden he flipped the switch and he was, you know, selling all of that, buying Bitcoin.
• 6:21
SPEAKER_01: And I thought he was crazy.
• 6:22
SPEAKER_01: You know, I'm like this, this is crazy.
• 6:24
SPEAKER_01: Like he had everything set up perfectly, you know, like he's in a perfect position.
• 6:28
SPEAKER_01: He's in the position that like most 20 somethings, 30 somethings would want to be in, and he's giving all of it up to go all in on Bitcoin, and it didn't make sense to me.
• 6:36
  SPEAKER_01: And I think so.
• 6:38
SPEAKER_01: Jeff reaching out to me and being kind of persistent on social media, and then that mixed with me seeing people who I thought were smarter than me making the decision to go into Bitcoin had me thinking, like, what do they know about Bitcoin that I don't know, that they have so much conviction to buy it and I don't.
• 6:55
SPEAKER_01: And I was, you know, initially very skeptical of Bitcoin.
• 6:58
SPEAKER_01: Like I was one of those people a few years ago that I was like, this is like a scam, like this is just some internet token, like this is a scam, you know, I'm not putting my money into this kind of thing.
• 7:08
SPEAKER_01: Um, so I heard a quote and I I don't know like the exact quote, and I can't even tell you exactly who said it, but basically it was like if you put 1% of if you hedge and you put 1% of your net worth into Bitcoin and Bitcoin goes to zero, it won't affect your life whatsoever.
• 7:26
SPEAKER_01: Um, if you don't put anything into Bitcoin and fiat goes to zero, yeah.
• 7:32
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you're your SOL kind of.
• 7:34
SPEAKER_01: And so I was like, okay, that's true.
• 7:36
  SPEAKER_01: Like I I get where you're coming from.
• 7:38
SPEAKER_01: So it was like the books, the reading, Jeff, uh, Chris Johnson, and then it was like, okay, let me start with a hedge.
• 7:42
  SPEAKER_01: So I was like, okay, I'll just I'll put like 1%, 2%.
• 7:45
SPEAKER_01: And then as I continued to learn, my conviction grew obviously, and uh quickly realized one to two percent wasn't enough.
• 7:53
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, that's so good.
• 7:55
SPEAKER_00: And going back to two with Chris Johnson, uh man, I feel like he's orange-pilled like all of my guests.
• 8:00
SPEAKER_00: He's orange, he actually orange-pilled me, and I would have the exact same viewpoint and mindset, just like you.
• 8:07
SPEAKER_00: I would follow him and then he switched it up.
• 8:09
SPEAKER_00: And for him to be like, he was winning in all uh all avenues too.
• 8:14
SPEAKER_00: It was like a watch company, it was stocks, it was rental properties, and then it and then uh his crypto, and so it was just like crypto, like because he was like he had Etherim too.
• 8:24
SPEAKER_00: He'd always talk about Etherim, and then and then he went all in, like you shared, sold everything, and then that's when even made me.
• 8:31
SPEAKER_00: I felt like I was behind him on the rabbit hole because I was just following him everywhere he was post and stuff.
• 8:36
SPEAKER_00: I was like, wow, this is like making more sense, right?
• 8:39
SPEAKER_00: And um, so no, I totally uh agree with you on that.
• 8:43
SPEAKER_02: And um Yeah, I was gonna ask too like what how what's like the time frame where it went from like, oh, I'm just curious about this to like, oh, I am like all in.
• 8:52
SPEAKER_02: Like, what do you think like around that time frame was?
• 8:55
SPEAKER_01: So I want to say that it was about end of 2023.
• 9:00
SPEAKER_01: I want to say it was around November 2023, when Jeff offered to send me the books and I bought them myself and started reading them.
• 9:08
SPEAKER_01: Um, and earl very early in 2024, like you know, January is when I made my first buy.
• 9:16
SPEAKER_01: And it was like small.
• 9:18
SPEAKER_01: Like I look back now and Bitcoin was in the 40s, you know, and I I think like I started out with like a$500 buy, and then I was just like, I'm gonna buy every week from here until I get to my one to two percent kind of thing.
• 9:30
SPEAKER_01: And it's so funny now I look back and I'm like, I can't believe that I got in in the 40s, like I should have put in thousands.
• 9:36
SPEAKER_01: You know, what what was I doing?
• 9:38
SPEAKER_01: But I think everybody kind of got that uh, but it was pretty quick, you know, like a a couple of months of me doing some research, putting in a small amount, and then it wasn't until that summer of 2024 that I started the Uber Chronicles and then really was like, all right, I have to hurry up and stack Bitcoin as soon as possible.
• 9:58
SPEAKER_01: And like I need to make more money, basically.
• 10:01
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, that was like six months.
• 10:03
  SPEAKER_00: Wow, that's really good.
• 10:04
  SPEAKER_00: Go ahead.
• 10:05
SPEAKER_02: No, I was gonna say because it's uh, you know, sometimes it takes people years and years to kind of figure out, you know, like the Bitcoin space and a lot more, you know, persistence from people or you know, even the ex-community of just being in that in that environment.
• 10:20
SPEAKER_02: And so I feel like you but you already had that mindset of like that entrepreneurial mindset, which I think also really helps because I think a lot, a lot of times people who don't have that mindset are a little bit more hesitant to try new things or to take risks because they're like, I've had the safety net of the government, I have the safety net of a bank, you know, all these things that you know we were grew up with.
• 10:43
SPEAKER_02: It's the system that we grew up in.
• 10:45
SPEAKER_02: And then when you have a different mindset about like, well, what's gonna drive my future forward, you have to research, you have to read about the system, you have to read about the money and all of that.
• 10:54
SPEAKER_02: And so that's what I've learned, you know, myself too, is just being more open to understanding, hey, this isn't just because we were taught this as kids isn't necessarily what we what's gonna work in the future, you know.
• 11:06
  SPEAKER_02: So yeah, 100%.
• 11:08
SPEAKER_01: And I think too, like it helped me that I had already been investing for 10 about 10 years whenever I found Bitcoin.
• 11:18
SPEAKER_01: Um, because I knew that like to make money you have to take risks of some sort.
• 11:24
SPEAKER_01: You know, I I had already been putting my money to work, so to speak, for so long that like me taking$500,$1,000, a few thousand dollars, and putting it into this asset, like that wasn't scary to me because you know, I had been doing that for years.
• 11:38
SPEAKER_01: And at this point, you know, I was pretty set in my career.
• 11:42
SPEAKER_01: Um, and I also at this point had all of my rental properties.
• 11:46
SPEAKER_01: So I had income coming in from multiple places.
• 11:48
SPEAKER_01: I was relatively stable, secure, like all of those things where like throwing a few thousand dollars into something like at that time wasn't it wasn't a huge risk, you know, to me, where I was like, okay, yeah, if I'm wrong and this this thing does go to zero, it's not gonna wipe me out, kind of thing.
• 12:07
SPEAKER_01: So it wasn't, it wasn't as hard of a sell as like somebody who has never invested, has never put any money into assets, and you're taking them from zero to one, which is investing in Bitcoin, which is a completely different approach.
• 12:19
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think.
• 12:20
  SPEAKER_02: For sure.
• 12:21
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, for sure.
• 12:22
SPEAKER_00: The um and thanks for sharing that.
• 12:24
SPEAKER_00: And with the uh like so Uber Chronicles, uh, I know I think I believe you're you're three seasons deep into this, and um where did this whole idea come from for Uber Chronicles?
• 12:34
SPEAKER_00: Like, look tell us, walk us through your thought process on this.
• 12:39
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so I think every Bitcoiner eventually comes to the conclusion that like this is the only truly finite asset, and it's different than every asset in that way, because there's an unlimited number of VoO shares, there's an unlimited number of Microsoft shares, you know, not truly, like I know that's not really accurate, but what I'm saying is if I wanted to buy more of those things, I'll always be able to.
• 13:13
SPEAKER_01: Um, and if I wanted to buy more properties, which at the which you know, for years I was doing, I there was always properties available.
• 13:21
SPEAKER_01: Um, if I wanted to buy more of just about anything on earth, you can get access to it.
• 13:27
SPEAKER_01: And when you learn about Bitcoin, you realize this is the only thing where there really is only 21 million of them.
• 13:33
SPEAKER_01: Millions of them have already been lost.
• 13:35
SPEAKER_01: And if you want to secure yours, um, there's a time frame to do that.
• 13:41
SPEAKER_01: Um, and so it was different for me where it was like you, it doesn't make sense to take like this passive approach where it's like, I want to get to one Bitcoin in the next 10 years, um, because it's very probable that the Bitcoin price will run away on you and what you think you'll be able to get to ends up being super far out of reach.
• 14:00
SPEAKER_01: You know, somebody a few years ago, you know, let's say around 2020, Bitcoin price was$8,000.
• 14:07
SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, if you have$1,000 a month of, you know, discretionary income, you're thinking, all right, I can get one Bitcoin in eight months.
• 14:15
SPEAKER_01: Um, at the end of last year, Bitcoin had$126,000.
• 14:18
SPEAKER_01: If you have$1,000 of discretionary income, you need 126 months.
• 14:24
SPEAKER_01: I mean, you know, that's crazy to think about.
• 14:27
SPEAKER_01: And most people then at that point are never gonna get there.
• 14:30
SPEAKER_01: And so that was kind of running through my mind where it was like, I want to get at least one of these.
• 14:37
SPEAKER_01: I don't know how long the price is gonna be where it's at currently.
• 14:41
SPEAKER_01: So let me just go as hard as I can and get my one, which was my goal at the time.
• 14:46
SPEAKER_01: And obviously, I think everybody feels to say, and you hit your one, you're like, okay, that's not enough.
• 14:50
SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna keep going anyway.
• 14:51
SPEAKER_01: But um that was the thought process behind it.
• 14:55
SPEAKER_01: So initially, I, you know, like I said, I've I've always kind of been a hard worker.
• 14:59
SPEAKER_01: Like I've always had multiple jobs, um, not out of necessity, just because I've wanted to, um, because I know that the more money I make, the more money I can invest, the quicker I can reach freedom and those types of things.
• 15:11
SPEAKER_01: So I was, you know, had my job at the insurance company, had my properties.
• 15:14
SPEAKER_01: Um, I'm married, my wife has a great job.
• 15:17
SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, at this time we don't have any kids.
• 15:19
SPEAKER_01: So, you know, we're just we have extra free time in the evening.
• 15:22
SPEAKER_01: So I'm thinking, let me go see like what Uber's about.
• 15:25
SPEAKER_01: Like I can do it on my own.
• 15:26
SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, I don't have a boss, I don't have co-workers, I don't have a set schedule, I can go out and drive whenever I want, and I'm gonna put the money towards Bitcoin and like just help myself get to these goals that I have quicker.
• 15:36
SPEAKER_01: And so I initially started it, like I said, I think it was the summer of 2024.
• 15:41
SPEAKER_01: Um, and initially I didn't want to tell anybody about it.
• 15:45
SPEAKER_01: And it's so funny because I really don't care what people think of me.
• 15:48
SPEAKER_01: Like I in most regards, like I'm like, you know, I'm gonna live my life and do what I want to do.
• 15:54
SPEAKER_01: And if if you guys don't like that or you don't like me, that's okay, kind of thing.
• 15:59
SPEAKER_01: Um, but with this specifically, I was initially worried that like people were gonna think that I was broke, like people in my family or like people that knew me personally would think, like, all right, why is Lindsay driving Uber?
• 16:12
SPEAKER_01: Like Lindsay has like these properties and like she has a good job, like uh allegedly, and now she's out there driving Uber.
• 16:19
SPEAKER_01: Like something doesn't add up, like she is like it is she's a gambling issue, like you know, just the things that I'm thinking, and I'm like, oh my god, like you know, people are gonna think I'm broke.
• 16:28
SPEAKER_01: And so I initially didn't post anything about it or say anything about it, but it was it was working.
• 16:33
  SPEAKER_01: So I was consistently making$30 to$35 an hour.
• 16:37
SPEAKER_01: I was putting all of the money into Bitcoin, I was going out multiple nights a week in the evenings and on the weekends, and like I was it was working, you know.
• 16:44
SPEAKER_01: I was quickly stacking Bitcoin and like I was like, okay, this is good.
• 16:48
SPEAKER_01: So one day, and I don't think you guys were on social media yet.
• 16:51
SPEAKER_01: At least if you were, I didn't know you yet, but one random summer day, I literally posted like, um, I I know I'm gonna get roasted for this, but I've been driving Uber in the evenings and on the weekends to stack Bitcoin and it it went insanely viral.
• 17:06
SPEAKER_01: Like it went like crazy viral, like millions of views, like like tons of comments.
• 17:11
SPEAKER_01: Mike all Mike Alfred, which I'm sure you know, um commented was like, drop your uh drop your Bitcoin wallet address, we'll send you Bitcoin like to help you keep going, kind of thing.
• 17:22
SPEAKER_01: And I got like$2,000 worth of Bitcoin back then when the price was only like 50 grand.
• 17:27
SPEAKER_01: So like that ended up growing.
• 17:29
  SPEAKER_01: What?
• 17:30
SPEAKER_01: Um, so like everybody was just the support was crazy.
• 17:33
SPEAKER_01: Like I was like, okay, this thing that I didn't want to tell people about is going insanely viral, and I'm getting so much, so many people like supporting it.
• 17:42
SPEAKER_01: So then I'm like, all right, so how do I turn this into like something people are obviously interested in and want to know how it's going?
• 17:47
SPEAKER_01: Like, how do I turn this into something?
• 17:49
SPEAKER_01: So I literally went on Amazon, bought a microphone, got a phone holder, like just got like a few of the things, and I set my phone up in my car, and I just was like, I'm gonna start the Uber Chronicles.
• 18:01
SPEAKER_01: So I just flipped on the video.
• 18:03
SPEAKER_01: I started out, I'm like, like, I'm back with another episode of the Uber Chronicles, the series where I drive Uber and use the money to buy Bitcoin.
• 18:10
SPEAKER_01: Today's whatever date, the Bitcoin price is this.
• 18:13
  SPEAKER_01: Let's go.
• 18:13
SPEAKER_01: And I went, drove, um, picked up passengers, kind of gave feedback on like my different riders and how much I was making.
• 18:20
SPEAKER_01: And um, when I tried different strategies, I was just kind of reporting like what worked, what didn't work, um, you know, how much people were interested in how much I was making.
• 18:28
SPEAKER_01: And at the end of every uh video, I showed my total earnings.
• 18:32
SPEAKER_01: I bought Bitcoin on River, I showed the purchase, and then I just uploaded the video on YouTube and on Twitter.
• 18:39
SPEAKER_01: And it just was crazy.
• 18:41
SPEAKER_01: Like it, it just the traction was so good.
• 18:44
  SPEAKER_01: I did that for a while.
• 18:45
SPEAKER_01: Um, and then Yahoo Finance found it.
• 18:47
SPEAKER_01: Yahoo Finance did an article on me um in the Uber Chronicles, and it was hilarious because they were basically saying like Uber driver risks it all on crazy investment, just like not understanding like you know what I was trying to do.
• 19:02
SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, that that's basically what I did until I hit one Bitcoin and then I like took a break and haven't really driven Uber just because I have so many things going on in my personal life.
• 19:11
  SPEAKER_01: But that's the long-winded uh explanation.
• 19:14
  SPEAKER_00: That is awesome.
• 19:15
SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, especially like it going viral and and uh you know Mike Alfred, everyone and just like donating to you like your wallet, like that has to be the best.
• 19:23
  SPEAKER_00: Like what?
• 19:24
SPEAKER_00: And then um, well, I'm so glad that you turned on your camera and you started Uber Chronicles and like the journey that it took you down.
• 19:31
SPEAKER_00: And Yahoo Finance literally should change it to like bought the safest asset instead of the riskiest asset, their title.
• 19:40
  SPEAKER_00: Uh that's so funny.
• 19:41
SPEAKER_00: And then um, like, did you and did you even think like, did you like realize like how many people would connect with this?
• 19:47
SPEAKER_00: Like that that's not at all.
• 19:50
  SPEAKER_01: Not at all.
• 19:50
SPEAKER_01: I I honestly, but I've kind of had that feeling since I started posting um years ago.
• 19:58
SPEAKER_01: Like I never thought that anybody would care what I had to say at all.
• 20:02
SPEAKER_01: You know, I just never, never thought, you know, like I was putting my thoughts out into where into the world because I wanted to document like initially when I started my journey from like to being a net worth millionaire, like that was my goal.
• 20:16
SPEAKER_01: Like I was like, I'm just gonna document my journey so I can look back on it myself years down the line about like my thoughts and where I was and you know how my portfolio was growing and all of those things.
• 20:27
SPEAKER_01: I never thought that anybody would care.
• 20:30
SPEAKER_01: And I still don't, you know, every time I hit post, even now, even today, um, with almost 30,000 followers, I hit post.
• 20:38
SPEAKER_01: I literally think to myself, nobody is gonna care about this.
• 20:41
SPEAKER_01: Like, how would anybody care about this?
• 20:43
SPEAKER_01: You know, but then I'm surprised every day um when the people that I've met, the the relationships that I've made, the friends that I've made show up to support me every single day, just like I do them.
• 20:54
SPEAKER_01: Um and it continues to blow me away.
• 20:55
SPEAKER_01: And this was no different.
• 20:57
SPEAKER_01: You know, I think I thought nobody would care about it.
• 20:59
  SPEAKER_01: They did.
• 21:00
SPEAKER_01: Um, tons of people started doing um gig work to stack Bitcoin from my videos.
• 21:06
SPEAKER_01: I had so many people reaching out to me saying, like, I'm doing Instacart, I'm doing Uber Eats, I'm doing DoorDash, I'm stacking Bitcoin because of your videos.
• 21:13
SPEAKER_01: And that was a main driver for me to continue to do it because um I really, you know, it was kind of like this loop that I was in at that point where I was buying Bitcoin with money I made from my job and buying Bitcoin with money I made for my rental properties, my rent every month.
• 21:31
SPEAKER_01: Um I was buying Bitcoin with the money I made driving Uber, and then I was making these videos and I was posting them on the internet, and then I was getting ad revenue, so I was using that money to put into Bitcoin.
• 21:41
SPEAKER_01: And so it was like this loop where the content that I was making, I was making money making the content and then posting the content, I was making money.
• 21:49
SPEAKER_01: So I was, you know, just had loop going.
• 21:51
SPEAKER_01: And it eventually kind of was getting to the point where I didn't, you know, some of my earnings and other avenues were far outweighing the earnings that I was making driving Uber.
• 22:00
SPEAKER_01: But it was affecting so many people positively that it like made me want to continue doing it.
• 22:06
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 22:07
  SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
• 22:07
SPEAKER_02: Well, if you can have any impact on someone in a positive way, it's it's I think that's what we're, you know, supposed to do.
• 22:13
SPEAKER_02: We're supposed to encourage one another, love one another, you know, um, just be there.
• 22:18
SPEAKER_02: And I feel like the ex community, ever since I I joined like what, two months ago, a month ago.
• 22:23
SPEAKER_02: Um, but yeah, it's been so refreshing.
• 22:26
SPEAKER_02: Even when I wasn't on it, he would share things with me.
• 22:28
SPEAKER_02: I'm like, how can I even like say have a question about the Bitcoin community?
• 22:32
SPEAKER_02: You guys are all doing push-ups, you guys are all like getting healthier, you're reading books, you're like, Yeah, everyone's just encouraging everybody, right?
• 22:40
SPEAKER_02: And it's just such a uh a positive, hopeful place.
• 22:43
SPEAKER_02: And I think that's so awesome because yeah, easily you could be like, dude, I don't have enough time to do this.
• 22:49
  SPEAKER_02: Like, this is crazy.
• 22:50
SPEAKER_02: I'm like running properties, I'm, you know, working, I'm doing all this other stuff.
• 22:55
SPEAKER_02: And you could have easily just been like, I'm done.
• 22:58
SPEAKER_02: One of these things gotta give, you know, and like Uber might be the one that I should probably give, you know.
• 23:03
SPEAKER_02: But no, I think that's really like selfless of you to, you know, want to be able to help other people and just to hear probably those stories is so encouraging.
• 23:13
SPEAKER_02: And I feel the same way sometimes when we like when we first started our podcast too.
• 23:17
SPEAKER_02: I was like, are people even gonna relate to that?
• 23:19
SPEAKER_02: You know, like are we even gonna be able to like, I don't know.
• 23:22
SPEAKER_02: This is just a whole other world, right?
• 23:23
  SPEAKER_02: It's a whole other world.
• 23:24
SPEAKER_02: You're putting yourself out there.
• 23:26
SPEAKER_02: Um, and you do you start hearing people saying, like, hey, this is really helpful and and encouraging, and you know, seeing a couple on the same page is really encouraging too, you know.
• 23:36
SPEAKER_02: So it's just you never know what's gonna come from just putting yourself out there and you know, being even if we help one person, you know, that's that's a huge deal for sure.
• 23:45
SPEAKER_00: And just gonna just kind of hop on this real quick.
• 23:48
SPEAKER_00: Um, I wanted to share this actually with you real quick, Lindsay, because there's like a handful of people that kind of like it kind of pushed me and inspired me to like do this podcast with Danielle.
• 23:59
SPEAKER_00: And you were actually one of them.
• 24:00
SPEAKER_00: You actually posted this on um in August of 28th last year.
• 24:05
  SPEAKER_00: Uh you're like, hey, I know I've said uh August 28th.
• 24:08
  SPEAKER_00: That's what I tweeted by.
• 24:09
SPEAKER_00: Uh I know I've said this before, but I feel like it's worth repeating.
• 24:12
  SPEAKER_00: Post your content.
• 24:13
SPEAKER_00: The power of social media is real, and your life can look completely different a year from now if you just start today.
• 24:18
SPEAKER_00: Don't let your fear of getting two likes or looking cringe hold you back.
• 24:22
SPEAKER_00: Like, did this really like it sat with me?
• 24:25
SPEAKER_00: And I was like, Oh my gosh, like I feel like I need to like you know, post more or just do something with my wife.
• 24:31
SPEAKER_00: And I don't know, it just sat with me.
• 24:33
SPEAKER_00: And I just want to say thank you because then like we started this in December, and just the people that we've talked to on this podcast, incredible, amazing, high level, high-level thinking.
• 24:43
SPEAKER_00: Um, everybody has just like, you know, different walks of life all over the world.
• 24:47
SPEAKER_00: We've talked to people, and so I just want to say thank you on that, and you know, whatever it thought, you know, sparring Uber in Uber would got you, you know, where we're at right now.
• 24:56
  SPEAKER_00: So it's crazy.
• 24:58
SPEAKER_01: I was just gonna say, like, I remember making that post, and I like still hearing it back, stand by it a hundred percent.
• 25:07
SPEAKER_01: And it's so cool to me that it resonated with you because so many doors have opened for me in my life because of social media.
• 25:15
SPEAKER_01: And I just want to touch on like a couple of those things.
• 25:18
SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, I started the Uber Chronicles, and I had companies reaching out to me to send me merch, like this hat.
• 25:25
SPEAKER_01: Like I got from a Bitcoin company um when they were like, Hey, I see that you like hats, like we're gonna send you a bunch of stuff you can wear in your Uber Chronicles videos.
• 25:33
SPEAKER_01: And I got a bunch of stuff, which then I started wearing that merch whenever I was driving Uber.
• 25:38
SPEAKER_01: And then my passengers would talk to me about Bitcoin because they saw that I was wearing the merch and then I was getting into Bitcoin conversations.
• 25:45
SPEAKER_01: Um, then because of that, um, I had people reach out to me about like starting a bigger production of the Uber Chronicles, like a bigger, you know, actually a production around Uber Chronicles on YouTube and making it like a real thing, um, which I didn't end up going down that path just because of everything else I had in my life.
• 26:06
SPEAKER_01: Um, but then it led to me being invited to the Bitcoin is for everyone, Natalie Brunel's uh book launch in New York City, which I ended up going to and meeting her and Larry Lapard in person and a bunch of Bitcoin people in the Bitcoin space, um, which then kind of led to me starting a consulting business for product where I consult businesses on their their products and how to make their products better and um you know the user experience and user interface.
• 26:32
SPEAKER_01: And now today, two of the clients that I work with in my business came to me from Twitter.
• 26:37
SPEAKER_01: So they knew me from posting, they reached out to me.
• 26:40
SPEAKER_01: Um, I have contracts in place with these people that I work with every single day.
• 26:45
SPEAKER_01: And all of that came from me just posting on Twitter.
• 26:48
SPEAKER_01: And it's crazy to look back on just a few years ago when, you know, I didn't have any followers.
• 26:54
SPEAKER_01: I had my own little motion going just with the things that I was doing, investing, you know, then.
• 27:00
SPEAKER_01: Um, but my income has increased, my network has increased, the opportunities have increased like crazy, um, all because I put myself out there on the internet.
• 27:10
SPEAKER_01: And so the fact that like that message resonated with you and helped you start your podcast, which then has increased your networking um and and eventually your opportunities, like that's the best thing in the world for me to hear.
• 27:22
  SPEAKER_00: Dude, that's so awesome.
• 27:23
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, thank you so much, Lindsay.
• 27:25
  SPEAKER_00: I really appreciate that.
• 27:27
SPEAKER_00: Um, and you taking that step forward because it really it was, it was like, it was just like pushing me.
• 27:32
SPEAKER_00: And I was like, man, I gotta like do this, right?
• 27:35
SPEAKER_00: And um, yeah, so just thank you so much.
• 27:37
SPEAKER_00: And then just to kind of like sum up with you know, the Uber uh Chronicles uh tiny crazy stories like about you know, we're talking about Bitcoin and you know, people maybe calling it a pair of my scheme or a scam.
• 27:47
SPEAKER_00: Like, do you have any like cool story or even a positive one?
• 27:50
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, I think back to there's a few, you know, and and I think um there's this misconception, I think, uh when you hear about Uber, where like your passengers get in and they're like super interested in talking to their driver.
• 28:05
  SPEAKER_01: They're not.
• 28:06
SPEAKER_01: Um, most people are going to and from work, like you're picking them up from work and taking them home, or you're picking up from their house and taking them to work.
• 28:13
SPEAKER_01: Most people just want to get in, ride, get to their location safely, and get out of the car.
• 28:18
SPEAKER_01: So that was 80% plus of my rides.
• 28:23
SPEAKER_01: There was occasionally people that did want to talk, and um, a few of them do stand out.
• 28:30
SPEAKER_01: I I picked up a lady once from her job and was taking her home.
• 28:35
SPEAKER_01: And she was asking me about Uber.
• 28:37
SPEAKER_01: She was an older lady.
• 28:38
SPEAKER_01: Um, she was asking me about um, you know, just Uber, how long I've been driving, if I do it full-time, if I do it part-time, um, do I like it?
• 28:46
SPEAKER_01: You know, what, you know, that type of thing.
• 28:47
SPEAKER_01: And I at this point was like, yeah, I I'm I'm driving Uber and I'm putting 100% of the money that I make into Bitcoin.
• 28:54
SPEAKER_01: And she was like, oh wow, that's so cool.
• 28:56
SPEAKER_01: My husband started buying Bitcoin over 10 years ago.
• 28:59
  SPEAKER_01: He's huge into Bitcoin.
• 29:00
SPEAKER_01: Actually, if he would have kept a few more coins um than he did, we, you know, wouldn't be working now.
• 29:07
SPEAKER_01: And um just kind of got into like he was a software developer and he was big into tech and 10 plus years ago got into Bitcoin, bought a bunch of coins as it was growing.
• 29:19
SPEAKER_01: He was like selling them off, selling them off, and today only holds a few, and not enough to, you know, not enough for the price today to retire him and his wife.
• 29:30
SPEAKER_01: Um, and so things like that, you know, there were people that were like, I was in really, really early, or you know, my family was.
• 29:37
SPEAKER_01: Um, there were people who I I I talked to one guy who specifically um is lives half of his uh life, I guess, in West Palm Beach, Florida, and the other half he lives in Stwickley, Pennsylvania, which is um a high-end area outside of Pittsburgh.
• 29:54
SPEAKER_01: And um he was an investor and he didn't own any Bitcoin at all and wasn't big on Bitcoin whatsoever, but he's probably in his 60s.
• 30:03
SPEAKER_01: Um, he's into real estate, he's into investing in stocks and you know, that type of thing.
• 30:08
SPEAKER_01: And so hearing him kind of give his uh approach and and feelings just about Bitcoin as like a risk asset, um, it didn't change my feelings whatsoever about Bitcoin, but it kind of shows um, you know, different age ranges of people and what they think about certain things and people that are maybe set in their ways versus people who get into assets early on, and and sometimes that's really good.
• 30:32
SPEAKER_01: And sometimes people have like a salty feeling in their mouth if they get in too early and get burned by something.
• 30:37
SPEAKER_01: Um, so just those types of things where everybody I met was, you know, I don't have any like horror stories or anything like that.
• 30:44
SPEAKER_01: Everybody, for the most part, was super respectful.
• 30:46
SPEAKER_01: The people that did want to talk opened the door for me to talk about investing and to talk about Bitcoin specifically.
• 30:52
SPEAKER_01: Um, but nothing like too crazy that like I, you know, story-wise.
• 30:57
SPEAKER_00: Nobody throwing up in your car.
• 31:00
  SPEAKER_01: Never.
• 31:00
SPEAKER_01: Actually, I specifically did not drive.
• 31:04
SPEAKER_01: Like at like weekend nights, like in at night and like downtown.
• 31:10
SPEAKER_01: Um, I wasn't like the drunk crowd was not my crowd.
• 31:14
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 31:15
SPEAKER_01: Like I need business to be able to do it.
• 31:17
  SPEAKER_01: I'll take you home.
• 31:18
SPEAKER_00: I'll take you home from your job before you get wild.
• 31:21
  SPEAKER_01: Yes, that's exactly right.
• 31:23
  SPEAKER_01: I I also just like I wasn't I wasn't about to stay up past 11 o'clock.
• 31:28
  SPEAKER_01: I don't, I'm like an early to better.
• 31:31
  SPEAKER_01: I'm a a a gram.
• 31:33
  SPEAKER_01: Like I I feel like some days I'm a grandma.
• 31:35
SPEAKER_01: Like, I just like to be home on the couch.
• 31:37
SPEAKER_01: I we watch shows, have dinner together, you know, whatever, read a book.
• 31:42
SPEAKER_01: Um, I'm not like about at midnight kind of gal.
• 31:46
SPEAKER_01: So that was not up my alley whatsoever.
• 31:50
  SPEAKER_01: Awesome.
• 31:50
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you probably had a lot more productive conversations too during the hours that you were working.
• 31:55
  SPEAKER_02: For sure.
• 31:57
  SPEAKER_00: Awesome.
• 31:59
SPEAKER_00: Uh so I know you you mentioned you had some rentals.
• 32:02
SPEAKER_00: I believe you sold your rentals.
• 32:04
SPEAKER_00: Uh, what was the reasoning behind that?
• 32:05
SPEAKER_00: Um, because I know uh Bitcoin kind of plays a a part um with when they're making these decisions once you understand the asset.
• 32:13
SPEAKER_00: And so if you don't mind sharing a little bit about that.
• 32:15
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, for sure.
• 32:16
SPEAKER_01: I um so I touched on this a little bit, but you know, whenever I realize like I want to make my job optional, um, I I don't want to work forever, at least what I'm doing, I don't love what I'm doing.
• 32:31
SPEAKER_01: Um I found like the choose FI Bigger Pockets podcast.
• 32:37
SPEAKER_01: Like this was back like 2015, 2016 era.
• 32:41
SPEAKER_01: Um and really what kind of hit home for me was if you own rental properties that are cash flowing, you can eventually replace your income with cash flow.
• 32:53
SPEAKER_01: You know, this property might cash flow four to five hundred dollars a month.
• 32:57
SPEAKER_01: Um, you get five of them, you're looking at$2,500 a month or whatever the case is.
• 33:02
SPEAKER_01: You do the math, kind of get an idea of how many properties you'll need.
• 33:06
SPEAKER_01: Um, and it's a way of like creating this um thing that everybody's chasing, which is passive income, so that you can have options.
• 33:14
SPEAKER_01: And I'm not against that whatsoever.
• 33:16
SPEAKER_01: I I think that real estate is a perfectly fine investment for some people who understand it and um you you know want to go that route.
• 33:24
  SPEAKER_01: I I don't knock like other investments.
• 33:27
SPEAKER_01: Even if people are like Bitcoin's not for me, I'm gonna buy VOO, um, and I'm gonna, you know, buy the stock market.
• 33:34
SPEAKER_01: Like, I might think that fundamentally that we disagree on what the best asset is, uh, but I don't ever knock anybody for like their investment style or what they're into.
• 33:45
SPEAKER_01: Um so I just want to preface that by saying, like, I'm not a real estate hater.
• 33:48
SPEAKER_01: I don't think that everybody who owns real estate um is going broke or is is any less than people that buy Bitcoin at all.
• 33:58
SPEAKER_01: Um, I just speaking from my own experience, didn't have the best experience as a landlord.
• 34:04
SPEAKER_01: And I started to realize like I have this property that um does cash flow, but now in the current environment that we have, I can have the same amount of cash flow holding something like STRC or SATA or any of these other products that don't require me to uh worry about a roof leaking or replacing a toilet or a sink or a faucet or just all of the things.
• 34:36
SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, so there's two kind of um real estate investing plays in my mind.
• 34:42
SPEAKER_01: If you're going into the the residential real estate space, um, which is you can play the appreciation type uh play or the cash flow play.
• 34:52
SPEAKER_01: The appreciation play is is buying real estate in sought-after areas where the price is going to go up significantly during the time that you hold it.
• 35:01
SPEAKER_01: And your cash flow may not be very good because once you factor in um, you know, you have your down payment, but you factor in your mortgage and your interest and you know property taxes and insurance and all those things.
• 35:15
SPEAKER_01: In a lot of locations today, the the numbers don't necessarily work out.
• 35:19
SPEAKER_01: Um, and so you're buying that knowing, hey, I'm not gonna get a ton of cash flow, but this is gonna appreciate.
• 35:25
SPEAKER_01: And if I want to sell it or take out a HELOC or, you know, something down the line, I have that option.
• 35:30
SPEAKER_01: Then there's the other play, which is these properties might not necessarily appreciate a ton um over the next few years based on where they're located, but they cash flow really well because they're cheaper.
• 35:40
SPEAKER_01: So when you get your down payment, you actually have, you know, significant monthly cash flow.
• 35:44
SPEAKER_01: So where I was buying was the latter.
• 35:47
SPEAKER_01: Um, they don't appreciate a ton here in western Pennsylvania.
• 35:50
SPEAKER_01: Um, they're relatively um like reasonably priced, I would say, compared to where you live.
• 35:58
SPEAKER_01: Um, and so I started just buying a, you know, buying one, um, you know, saving up a down payment, buying one.
• 36:06
SPEAKER_01: Um, my once I got my first one, got a tenant, saved up another down payment, bought another one, had to do some uh renovations to that one.
• 36:16
SPEAKER_01: So what we decided was when we bought the second one, we were gonna renovate it.
• 36:19
SPEAKER_01: We were gonna live in it for a few years, finish it up while we uh lived there, and then we were gonna buy another primary, move out, make that one a rental property, which we did, um, bought another one and made that a rental, bought our fourth house, which is our now primary, turned the third one into a rental.
• 36:35
SPEAKER_01: So we did this play where we kind of like were moving around, living in them while we were fixing them up, then turning them into rentals because that was the way that we could like really afford to do this.
• 36:44
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 36:45
SPEAKER_01: And um I would say it was working out.
• 36:48
SPEAKER_01: Um, but it was, I just got to a point where I didn't want to manage like all of these anymore.
• 36:53
SPEAKER_01: And I could have easily hired a property management company to manage these things for me, but that would cut into um the cash flow significantly.
• 37:03
SPEAKER_01: And that it that doesn't come without risks either.
• 37:07
SPEAKER_01: Um so all of that to say, at the end of at the you know, kind of mid-year last year, 2025, um, we were not super gung-ho about real estate and like residential real estate investing any longer.
• 37:21
SPEAKER_01: So we sold one of our properties.
• 37:23
SPEAKER_01: We did put the the proceeds that we got into Bitcoin in 2025, which is which was good.
• 37:29
SPEAKER_01: Um, and then we sold another one a few months ago.
• 37:33
SPEAKER_01: Um, and we have another one that's gonna go on the market uh next month.
• 37:38
SPEAKER_01: My tenants moving out on June 1st, so it should hit the market mid-June-ish.
• 37:43
SPEAKER_01: And that's the last one.
• 37:44
SPEAKER_01: So from there, we are cutting our ties with real estate.
• 37:48
SPEAKER_01: Um, we actually want to move to Florida, so we're just getting everything in place to sell our primary as well, which is our fourth house, um, and then move down there and kind of be done with it.
• 37:58
SPEAKER_01: And the thought process really is like you can make cash flow similar to what you're making on real estate properties with products that are out there today that like weren't available a few years ago.
• 38:12
SPEAKER_01: And now it makes so much more sense to go that route with less headaches for a better return on investment um than to do this.
• 38:20
SPEAKER_00: So yeah, that's the point.
• 38:22
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, no, thanks for sharing because a lot of people right away, uh especially growing up, were just like, oh, real estate, you gotta have real estate, invest in real estate, cash flow, appreciation.
• 38:31
SPEAKER_00: Like it's usually like, and then people see that as like, oh, wealth, right?
• 38:34
SPEAKER_00: They automatically are like, oh, this person owns property, this person's making money, it has cash flow.
• 38:38
SPEAKER_00: But again, there's tenants, right?
• 38:40
SPEAKER_00: There's repairs, there's uh uh costs, right?
• 38:42
SPEAKER_00: And so, and um with inflation, that doesn't any none of these help, right?
• 38:46
SPEAKER_00: And so um no, I I really appreciate you breaking that down.
• 38:50
SPEAKER_00: And it's cool that like you shared, like now there's different products from a year, you know, a few years ago that are out now where you can just almost, you know, just kind of just streamline into these products and then go ahead and make still make that cash flow without the headaches.
• 39:02
SPEAKER_00: And so um no, I really, I really appreciate that.
• 39:05
SPEAKER_00: And then moving down to Florida, nice.
• 39:07
SPEAKER_00: Congrats to like why Florida, real quick.
• 39:10
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, um, honestly, like a major part of it is weather.
• 39:14
SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't know if you've ever been to Pennsylvania, but it's like not beautiful most of the year, and it's hard to live here, like when it's dark, gloomy, and cloudy 24-7, like for months and months on end.
• 39:26
  SPEAKER_01: Um, that's a that's a major part of it.
• 39:28
SPEAKER_01: But the other part of it is um that me and my wife are fully remote now, uh, work-wise.
• 39:32
SPEAKER_01: So we don't have any ties to any offices here.
• 39:35
SPEAKER_01: Um, my parents are less than two years away from retirement and they are interested in relocating.
• 39:40
SPEAKER_01: Um, my wife's grandma just moved to Florida.
• 39:43
SPEAKER_01: Um, her brother just moved to Florida.
• 39:45
SPEAKER_01: Her parents and her other sister are interested in moving to Florida.
• 39:48
SPEAKER_01: And so now we just have the wheels turning where we're all gonna relocate to Florida and do this together as a family.
• 39:55
SPEAKER_01: So um, that's that's really like it's just kind of coming together.
• 39:59
SPEAKER_01: But yeah, that's that's the main reason.
• 40:01
  SPEAKER_02: That's super cool.
• 40:02
SPEAKER_02: Well, it's nice when your whole family can relocate with you.
• 40:05
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you know, like it's like okay, we're moving, and then it's like you don't really have your support system, you know, like you know, in that way.
• 40:12
SPEAKER_02: And and then so everyone's like, why'd you move there?
• 40:14
  SPEAKER_02: You're like you're by yourself.
• 40:16
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 40:16
SPEAKER_02: So if your whole family can go, I have a friend that recently moved too out of uh California, and her whole family moved.
• 40:22
SPEAKER_02: And I was like, that's how you do it, you know.
• 40:24
SPEAKER_02: If you're gonna do it, like the whole family has to go because everyone's gonna miss each other anyways, and we're gonna be flying back and forth.
• 40:30
SPEAKER_02: Like, what are we doing?
• 40:31
SPEAKER_02: Let's just all go together.
• 40:32
SPEAKER_02: And then we have like, you know, lower cost of living or whatever it might be, right?
• 40:37
SPEAKER_02: Better weather, whatever it might be.
• 40:38
SPEAKER_02: And you're like, hey, we're all happy now.
• 40:40
SPEAKER_02: Like, this is we're all together and we're all happy in a different place.
• 40:43
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 40:44
  SPEAKER_02: So that's really cool.
• 40:45
SPEAKER_02: I appreciate you sharing a lot about too about real estate, and um uh just because I think that was like the traditional way.
• 40:52
SPEAKER_02: But like Anthony was kind of, and you were saying it's a headache, it's a headache.
• 40:56
SPEAKER_02: And as your family grows or you start, you know, life changes, you don't want to have to have all these things hanging over your head and adding more pressure because really that freedom is going to be that time, right?
• 41:08
SPEAKER_02: That time freedom of being able to like spend time with each other and uh make memories together, where and then not thinking about, oh my gosh, I have to go fix that sink, or I have to get someone out there, or I can't, I mean, I can I can imagine um just because yeah, we've rented and you know, I know we come up with things we're like, dude, we have to reach out to the landlord and make sure this thing gets fixed.
• 41:30
SPEAKER_00: It's also like, you know, it's also like you don't want to be a headache either, too.
• 41:33
SPEAKER_00: Like, well, this is how we we can't.
• 41:34
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's how we want to.
• 41:35
SPEAKER_00: We're like, can we fix this?
• 41:36
SPEAKER_00: We'll fix this as much as we can.
• 41:38
SPEAKER_00: Because we just don't want to like you know, just have a conversation with them, like, hey, you gotta drop, like, we need a new fridge, you gotta drop, you know, some dough or a new stove or something, or a washer or dryer.
• 41:49
SPEAKER_00: So um, and then with that being said, all of that, so do you think um more people will uh eventually uh leave traditional uh real estate into Bitcoin once they understand the asset?
• 42:00
SPEAKER_01: So I think that the most sought-after properties in the world will always be a good investment.
• 42:08
SPEAKER_01: Um and there will always be um a place for investing in those types of things, like you know, buying properties like on the coast in Miami or you know, those areas.
• 42:24
SPEAKER_01: Like I can see why that would be an investment, um, or a good investment, um, because I think more people are care about their health now more than ever.
• 42:36
SPEAKER_01: And I think more people are interested in being in places where the sun shines and where there's healthy living.
• 42:43
SPEAKER_01: Like um, I've looked into a lot, like the blue zones, which are the areas in the world where people live to be a hundred years old or older in in like the highest groups.
• 42:55
SPEAKER_01: And um, like there's there's a location in California is one of them, and there's you know, locations in Japan, like Okinawa and uh different places all over the world where people live to be a hundred or more.
• 43:08
SPEAKER_01: Um, and I think people are starting to be interested in that.
• 43:12
SPEAKER_01: And so I think like places in California are always going to be sought after.
• 43:16
SPEAKER_01: I think places in probably Texas and uh Florida and you know the Carolinas, you know, I think Charlotte is growing like crazy.
• 43:25
SPEAKER_01: Um, Charleston, South Carolina, for sure.
• 43:28
SPEAKER_01: Um I think the properties in New York City and things like that, where you know, there's a lot of money or these are nice places will always be good investments for some people.
• 43:39
SPEAKER_01: Um, I don't necessarily think that like the small residential real estate properties in western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio are like the place to be, you know.
• 43:50
SPEAKER_01: So I'm pretty bearish like overall on that, just because uh I can't imagine um myself thinking that that would be a better investment than.
• 44:00
SPEAKER_01: Like Bitcoin or or even some of the other opportunities that there are in the market today.
• 44:05
SPEAKER_01: Um, so overall, I don't know because my my long-winded answer is that I don't know because I think that a lot of real estate investors don't care about Bitcoin.
• 44:15
SPEAKER_01: And I think a lot of real estate investors are totally sold on their cash flow from their properties and like this is the way and this is what I'm doing.
• 44:24
SPEAKER_01: I'm never gonna sell my properties, like yeah, whatever.
• 44:29
SPEAKER_01: Um, so so that kind of like is stuck in my in my head a little bit.
• 44:35
SPEAKER_01: Um, but I think that when people who find Bitcoin they are gonna go through um this thought process that I went through that I think it's natural for like Bitcoiners to go through, which is you know, I own this asset, which is this house, and I have this rent, right?
• 44:54
SPEAKER_01: And then um the government or the Fed prints more dollars.
• 44:59
SPEAKER_01: And when they print more dollars, the money supply increases, and because of that, it raises asset prices.
• 45:05
SPEAKER_01: The price of this house that I own now has gone up in value.
• 45:08
SPEAKER_01: And because of that, it's now been assessed at a higher price, which means the property taxes have gone up.
• 45:14
SPEAKER_01: Um, and now since the the property has been assessed at a higher value, now my insurance costs have gone up because if I have a total loss to my house, it burns down, whatever, and they have to pay to replace the entire thing, they have to pay out more money.
• 45:27
SPEAKER_01: So because they have to pay me out more money, they have to charge me a higher premium, which means that my uh my payments going up, which means I have to increase the payment for the tenant.
• 45:36
SPEAKER_01: Um, so then you get a few tenants that are on a fixed income.
• 45:41
SPEAKER_01: Maybe they're on Social Security, maybe they're retired, maybe they're whoever.
• 45:45
SPEAKER_01: Um, and they have a fixed supply of income every month, but their costs are current are always increasing because your costs are always increasing as a landlord.
• 45:57
SPEAKER_01: And to me, that's something that I didn't feel okay with.
• 46:00
SPEAKER_01: You know, I I don't feel okay with constantly having to raise the rent um so that I can make this little bit of profit um off of you because I had the money to put down on a down payment and decided to take this risk and maybe you didn't have that opportunity.
• 46:13
SPEAKER_01: And I don't like the overall, I don't like the overall like how it all works.
• 46:19
SPEAKER_01: It's just yeah, uh I don't want to be a part of that personally any longer.
• 46:24
SPEAKER_01: That's that's a main main part of it, in addition to the fact that it's a headache and and all the things that we talked about.
• 46:30
SPEAKER_01: Um, so I think as Bitcoiners find Bitcoin or as people become Bitcoiners or people find Bitcoin who also own real estate, they'll probably go down this path.
• 46:40
SPEAKER_01: Um but the people that don't find Bitcoin and who are real estate investors, I think that they're gonna ride that kind of gravy train as long as possible.
• 46:49
  SPEAKER_00: No, absolutely.
• 46:50
  SPEAKER_00: I agree with you 100%.
• 46:51
SPEAKER_00: When you get into the weeds and how it actually works, it's it's gross, but it's just so unethical, it feels like where like all of these factors have to come to play where you're like the one who gets it the worst is the renter, right?
• 47:04
SPEAKER_00: And you're just like, sorry guys, but I know you've been great, even if you've been great, you're like you pay on time, you done everything like the right way.
• 47:10
SPEAKER_00: It's just like, hey, you know, things are going up.
• 47:13
SPEAKER_00: If you're enjoying this episode, make sure to like and subscribe.
• 47:16
SPEAKER_00: It helps us reach more people and continue bringing you great guests.
• 47:19
SPEAKER_00: Now let's get back to the show.
• 47:20
SPEAKER_00: Like, your stuff has to go up, right?
• 47:22
  SPEAKER_00: And it's just unfortunate.
• 47:23
SPEAKER_00: Um, but it is it is what it is.
• 47:25
SPEAKER_00: Like, I do want to preface that I'm not talking bad about real estate.
• 47:28
SPEAKER_00: Is that's the game that we play, that's the world that we live in, and so that's the way it is, right?
• 47:32
SPEAKER_00: Like, you can't hate the you know, you can't hate the person that's uh navigating this.
• 47:36
SPEAKER_00: Um uh so uh just to pivot a little bit, there's been a lot of debate lately around people getting bullish because of Kevin Walsh potentially becoming the Fed chair, especially since he's viewed as a more Bitcoin-friendly.
• 47:47
SPEAKER_00: Like, what's your take on this?
• 47:49
  SPEAKER_01: I don't think I don't have a strong, a strong take on it um either way.
• 47:55
SPEAKER_01: Um I'm not bullish or bearish based off of who's in office or um what the political landscape is really.
• 48:04
SPEAKER_01: Um I I am not a big political person.
• 48:08
SPEAKER_01: Um I don't really think um I don't really think that many different decisions can be made based off of one individual.
• 48:17
SPEAKER_01: Um I think that you know Bitcoin is going to survive and is going to thrive regardless of who's in the office as president or who's the Fed chair.
• 48:28
  SPEAKER_01: Um so I I don't I don't really have a strong, a strong feeling on that.
• 48:33
SPEAKER_01: I'll just kind of be honest there.
• 48:35
SPEAKER_01: Um I I honestly just not something I'm interested in really, and I haven't spent a lot of time like contemplating that specifically.
• 48:45
SPEAKER_00: No, I agree 100% on my it doesn't matter, the money's broken, and this one person who's like walking into this system and like they're so late, they're so bad on everything, like it's gross.
• 48:56
SPEAKER_00: It's like why are we even why are we even like even having this discussion?
• 49:00
SPEAKER_00: I just know it's something that I see a lot on Twitter with Bitcoiners kind of discuss, and we're just kind of interested in your take, but it sounds like we're exactly on the same page because I care like zero about all of this, and we're talking about like the Fed like being a Bitcoiner friend, like Bitcoin's gonna do what Bitcoin's gonna do regardless, whether it's a Fed chairman, the president, the senator, you know, like what are we talking about?
• 49:21
SPEAKER_00: Like this thing is its own monster, and so just like talking about like connecting the dots of how people are like, yeah, like, oh, this is gonna be really good.
• 49:30
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, dude, like I think they're missing the plot here, right?
• 49:32
  SPEAKER_00: It doesn't matter.
• 49:34
SPEAKER_00: It doesn't matter at all.
• 49:35
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I I agree.
• 49:36
SPEAKER_01: And I think like once you kind of learn how um the Federal Reserve works and how our money works, um, you start to realize that we can never stop printing money.
• 49:50
  SPEAKER_01: We can't.
• 49:50
  SPEAKER_01: It's impossible.
• 49:52
SPEAKER_01: You know, our debt is out of control.
• 49:55
SPEAKER_01: Um, and so when you know that we can never stop printing money, you know that the money supply is always going to increase.
• 50:04
SPEAKER_01: Um and then eventually that money will flow into the only finite scarce capped asset.
• 50:13
  SPEAKER_01: Um that's that's my belief.
• 50:16
SPEAKER_01: But yeah, you know, I do think it's quite interesting what we're seeing right now, where um assets are at all-time highs, a lot of them, you know, stock markets at all-time highs, um, you know, inflation is high, uh interest rates are high and going higher, uh, real estate prices are high, and uh Bitcoin needs to do a 60% from here to get back to all-time highs.
• 50:40
SPEAKER_01: And I do think that that is something that you know I've been talking to some of my friends about.
• 50:47
SPEAKER_01: Um, is like, is this a typical uh cycle type of thing?
• 50:52
SPEAKER_01: Um, or is something going on?
• 50:55
SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, it it's it's interesting.
• 50:57
SPEAKER_01: And I'm not like a conspiracy theorist of any sort.
• 51:00
SPEAKER_01: Um, I just like to contemplate these things.
• 51:03
SPEAKER_01: Like when we pumped to 126,000 last year, you know, I don't think MicroStrategy was buying as much as they are.
• 51:08
SPEAKER_01: I don't think stretch was buying as much as they are.
• 51:10
SPEAKER_01: I don't think Strive was buying as much as they are.
• 51:13
SPEAKER_01: I don't know that the large players, like the institutional funds and hedge funds and things like that, were buying as much as they are.
• 51:21
SPEAKER_01: Um, I think that regular old plebs are probably buying more now at the current price than they were at 126.
• 51:28
SPEAKER_01: So it begs the question of like who's selling um and and and and why are a lot of other assets at their all-time highs right now and Bitcoin is not.
• 51:37
SPEAKER_01: Um, so because I have you guys here, do you have any thoughts on that?
• 51:41
SPEAKER_01: Like what's your take on like everything pumping and Bitcoin?
• 51:45
SPEAKER_01: I mean, has had a pump from the low 60s.
• 51:48
  SPEAKER_01: Obviously, I think I would have say it's like 20%.
• 51:50
SPEAKER_01: We're up 20% from the lows, which is good.
• 51:52
SPEAKER_01: Um but we're still so far off all 10 highs.
• 51:54
SPEAKER_01: And what what's your guys' take on that?
• 51:57
  SPEAKER_00: That's a great question.
• 51:58
SPEAKER_00: And I absolutely like I love it.
• 52:01
SPEAKER_00: Um, I absolutely love these lows and just where we're at right now overall.
• 52:06
SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, and the that's the thing about Bitcoin, right?
• 52:08
SPEAKER_00: It it bitcoin will always do its own things.
• 52:11
SPEAKER_00: It's unpredictable, and we love that overall.
• 52:14
SPEAKER_00: And so um being able to stack at these prices and uh just the fact that Bitcoin is doing the opposite of what everyone else is, it just shows you like it's not on this like set schedule where, you know, I think it'll always be like uh with the uh M2 money supply, it would always kind of like even with it, right?
• 52:31
SPEAKER_00: And right now, uh Bitcoin is not at all-time high, and we're printing like crazy.
• 52:35
SPEAKER_00: And so just to kind of see this dynamic of like, hey, we don't know what's what's it gonna do, this thing could take off tomorrow, it could take off during this podcast right now, a month from now, and just blow everything out of the water, right?
• 52:47
SPEAKER_00: And so um just having that unpredictability, I actually love it.
• 52:51
SPEAKER_00: The volatility, I love it because the US dollar has zero volatility, it's just going down.
• 52:57
SPEAKER_00: So when people talk about, hey, uh like, oh, it's so volatile.
• 53:00
SPEAKER_00: It went from you know 126, now it's right now, you know, where it's at right now at 78,000.
• 53:05
SPEAKER_00: It's like you probably lost money.
• 53:06
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, no, I've never you only lose money when you sell, and the dollar that you're playing this game with that's getting debased, you're just you're we're losing automatically, we're getting finessed.
• 53:17
  SPEAKER_00: I think, I think right now I'm happy.
• 53:19
SPEAKER_00: We just you know, speaking about this right now, we we just actually hit on Friday, we hit one of our uh another Bitcoin uh stacking goal, you know, and so I'm like, dude, let's go.
• 53:29
SPEAKER_00: Like so now we make a new one and we you know we we make headway.
• 53:34
SPEAKER_00: But um, yeah, so I'm I'm pumped about that.
• 53:38
SPEAKER_00: And that would have been so much harder, you know, it would have taken us a little bit longer if Bitcoin was at all-time highs still, right?
• 53:44
SPEAKER_00: Um I'll I'll take it how I can get it.
• 53:46
SPEAKER_00: Um, like you said, there's only a short amount of time before it run away.
• 53:50
SPEAKER_00: And so I'm like, you know, we're just running right now.
• 53:53
SPEAKER_02: And I think from my from my perspective too, being more, you know, kind of in the earlier-ish stages.
• 53:59
SPEAKER_02: Obviously, I've learned a lot from Anthony and and you know, being in the ex community and just prior to that too, just him sharing with me, like the volatility is intimidating at first, right?
• 54:08
SPEAKER_02: Like you're just like, holy cow, like you when it went up to 125, I mean, you would have thought, like, I don't know.
• 54:15
  SPEAKER_02: I don't know what I thought.
• 54:16
SPEAKER_02: I was just like, Are we millionaires?
• 54:17
  SPEAKER_02: What's happening?
• 54:17
  SPEAKER_02: Like, I, you know, I didn't know can I stop working?
• 54:21
  SPEAKER_02: This is great.
• 54:22
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, whatever.
• 54:23
SPEAKER_02: Um just because I was so out of touch.
• 54:25
SPEAKER_02: Like I really was, I was I knew it was a positive thing, but I was not really like uh, you know, educating myself.
• 54:32
SPEAKER_02: So yeah, just seeing how the learning more about the market too, just from my perspective of just being newer and now learning a new system, I feel like um, yeah, you have to be uncomfortable with the uncomfortable, you know, like or you have to be comfortable with the uncomfortable, excuse me.
• 54:46
SPEAKER_02: Um, and knowing that like things are gonna go up and down.
• 54:49
SPEAKER_02: And I think I've I've grasped onto that um throughout this journey too, just been like, oh, okay, so it's not always gonna be 125 plus, you know, or you know, as much as we are, you know, our podcast to the moon, like we know it's gonna go there, but you know, it's just we have to be be patient and um when learning more about our fiat system too, you're just going, well, this isn't working either.
• 55:13
SPEAKER_02: So like we better do something different, yeah, you know.
• 55:17
SPEAKER_02: Um, so yeah, that's just my perspective, just in a basic level of, you know, if anyone else is like listening, tuning into this, being like, I don't even know what strategy is, I don't know what's driving.
• 55:26
SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
• 55:27
SPEAKER_02: So just being able to just know, like, hey, the what we're our system isn't working, but now being able to like really understand it more and knowing that that volatility, we can't control it.
• 55:37
SPEAKER_02: You know, it's not something that we can control.
• 55:38
  SPEAKER_02: So yeah.
• 55:39
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and then at the same time, too, Lindsay, you know, there's a huge conversation right now around, you know, Bitcoin-related stocks versus simply holding Bitcoin.
• 55:46
SPEAKER_00: Uh people are bullish on companies like you said, stretch, uh, you know, and strategy.
• 55:50
SPEAKER_00: Um, when it comes to this, like what do you what would you what are your thoughts on this?
• 55:54
SPEAKER_00: Because, you know, some people are like, hey, Bitcoin only, because we know where Bitcoin's going.
• 55:58
SPEAKER_00: So like, why would you even you know mess with these other ones?
• 56:02
SPEAKER_00: Um, and then also at the same time, um, I want to preface this as well.
• 56:06
SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm all about like I have no, like you're in stocks, real estate, or just Bitcoin only.
• 56:10
  SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I'm for that.
• 56:12
SPEAKER_00: But I also think, you know, I also see on the other side of the coin where you can leverage these and and to get more Bitcoin, right?
• 56:18
SPEAKER_00: You can leverage real estate, you can leverage stocks, you know, these dividend plays, these treasury companies, um, you know, Boo or whatever.
• 56:25
SPEAKER_00: Like, if you know what you're doing, um, I don't I think you can leverage these and to use it to buy more Bitcoin.
• 56:31
SPEAKER_00: So um, but I know a lot of people are like, hey, Bitcoin only, like, why would you do this?
• 56:35
SPEAKER_00: You're you're in you're in dollars, like you're just playing with you know debase dollars.
• 56:39
SPEAKER_00: So, like, what's what's your take on this, if you don't mind me asking?
• 56:42
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, um, I think it's a great question.
• 56:44
SPEAKER_01: I um, you know, I feel pretty strongly about this.
• 56:49
SPEAKER_01: Um and basically here's my thoughts.
• 56:53
SPEAKER_01: If a lot of the people that say Bitcoin only, 100% Bitcoin, a lot of those people are people that got into Bitcoin early and who got into Bitcoin um years ago, they put a bunch of money into it, it's grown like crazy, and now they're at a point where if they need money to buy something and they can't buy in Bitcoin, they can sell off a little bit of their Bitcoin and for fiat and go and buy the thing.
• 57:20
SPEAKER_01: Um if you are talking to somebody who is a new Bitcoiner who became a Bitcoiner in the last two-ish years, imagine them going all in Bitcoin only at 120,000 or 115,000.
• 57:35
SPEAKER_01: And now they're at a point where they have to buy a thing.
• 57:39
SPEAKER_01: And in order to do that, they have to take a 50% loss on the Bitcoin that they bought.
• 57:44
SPEAKER_01: That is not an ideal situation for most people.
• 57:47
SPEAKER_01: If I bought at$1,000 and I went all in and Bitcoin's at$100,000, heck yeah, I'll sell a little bit to go buy a house or go buy a car or send my kid through college or whatever I have to do.
• 57:57
SPEAKER_01: If I put all of my money into Bitcoin at$120,000 and right now I need to go replace my car and now I have to take a 50% loss on my Bitcoin to buy, that hurts because people don't want to be in a position where they have to sell their Bitcoin at an inopportune time to pay for something.
• 58:17
SPEAKER_01: And when you when you preach to go all in on this thing, it has to be with the understanding that you're gonna hold for years.
• 58:25
SPEAKER_01: If you are going to have short-term expenses along the way that require money that you can't handle from your regular cash flow from your job or however you're getting money, it's not it's not, in my opinion, the best scenario to be 100% into Bitcoin.
• 58:41
SPEAKER_01: So these products that are out today, um, I think that there's an equal amount of love and hate for them amongst the community.
• 58:48
SPEAKER_01: And I can see why.
• 58:49
SPEAKER_01: I can see both sides.
• 58:50
SPEAKER_01: And I think where I stand is like if you are a young person who is buying something and planning to hold for 10, 20 years, you have a long-term outlook.
• 59:00
SPEAKER_01: Bitcoin is going to outperform any of these products long term.
• 59:06
SPEAKER_01: If you're somebody who has uh is in retirement, is approaching retirement, um, or is somebody who has a large expense, like you're gonna be buying a house for your family, like a primary home in the near future, or you want to have three to six months of expenses saved because your wife is gonna quit her job and stay home with the kids, or you just got laid off and you just want to have this nest egg.
• 59:30
SPEAKER_01: Having all of that in Bitcoin in those scenarios is very risky.
• 59:34
SPEAKER_01: Um you're 63 years old, you're just getting into retirement, you have a hundred percent of your money in a Bitcoin, Bitcoin drops 50%, and now your nest egg that you're supposed to live off of is 50% lower.
• 59:44
  SPEAKER_01: That's a major risk.
• 59:46
SPEAKER_01: Um you know, taking a percentage of your net worth and putting it into something like stretch or SATA that's gonna pay you 11 to 13 percent and be stable, uh, underlying price, which people can argue um, is this underlying price going to be stable?
• 1:00:02
SPEAKER_01: You know, this is a new asset.
• 1:00:03
SPEAKER_01: There's no, you know, it's it's too soon to tell if this is gonna stay at par at$100 long term.
• 1:00:08
SPEAKER_01: I get all of that.
• 1:00:10
SPEAKER_01: Um, but in those scenarios, not having all of your money in Bitcoin makes sense to me more than having all of your money in Bitcoin.
• 1:00:19
  SPEAKER_01: Um I'm I'm a I'm a I'm a proponent of having an emergency fund.
• 1:00:24
SPEAKER_01: I've talked about that on Twitter.
• 1:00:26
SPEAKER_01: Three to six months of expenses or whatever you feel comfortable with for your family.
• 1:00:30
SPEAKER_01: I can't imagine, um, like I said, having three to six months of expenses, me getting laid off from my job and going to dip into that three to six months and it's down 50%.
• 1:00:40
SPEAKER_01: I know that dollars are losing purchasing power every year, and I know that the inflation rate is much higher than 3%.
• 1:00:45
SPEAKER_01: I know that those dollars are losing purchasing power, but if it provides the peace of mind for you and your family that you have this money there in case of an emergency, that you don't have to sell your asset that you believe in heavily at a bad time, that to me is worth it.
• 1:01:01
SPEAKER_01: Um, so that that's kind of where I stand.
• 1:01:03
SPEAKER_01: I, if somebody's like, hey, Bitcoin only, Bitcoin only, I'm 100% into Bitcoin, more power to you.
• 1:01:08
SPEAKER_01: A lot of times I think those people are either uh very wealthy where they um if they had to sell some of their Bitcoin at a downtime, it wouldn't affect them whatsoever.
• 1:01:18
SPEAKER_01: Or they're very young people that don't have families and don't have kids, don't have wives.
• 1:01:23
SPEAKER_01: Um I don't know, Danielle, you know, how you feel, but my wife would not be comfortable with me having 100% of our net worth in Bitcoin, um, knowing she's about to have her first child and know she's gonna want to stay home and and raise the kid.
• 1:01:35
SPEAKER_01: Um it that it that just it wouldn't be something that my wife would feel comfortable with.
• 1:01:39
SPEAKER_01: And because of that, I I'm not gonna do that.
• 1:01:41
SPEAKER_01: Um that doesn't have a good large portion of my income and my net worth Bitcoin, I do.
• 1:01:47
SPEAKER_01: Um, but going 100% in just it just isn't in the cards for me and for probably a lot of people.
• 1:01:54
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 1:01:55
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 1:01:55
  SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
• 1:01:56
SPEAKER_02: I appreciate you sharing that because I think that's a lot of hesitation for maybe partners who aren't, you know, involved in the finances sometimes or they're you know not sure of what Bitcoin is, or um, and that's one of the things that I was always very like, hey, cool, yes, like if we have the finances to go into Bitcoin for sure, like I'm all for it.
• 1:02:17
SPEAKER_02: If it's gonna help our family in the future, I mean we have we have long-term visions anyways, like we we're on the same page in that way.
• 1:02:24
SPEAKER_02: Um, but yeah, like life happens and we've navigated some, you know, tougher situations where life did happen and you know, it helped to have that emergency fund and helped to have those, you know, things in place before, you know, that way we didn't have to dip into things that we didn't want to, you know.
• 1:02:41
SPEAKER_02: And so um, yeah, I appreciate that mindset a lot because I feel like um oftentimes people aren't on the same page with their their partners or things like that.
• 1:02:51
SPEAKER_02: And that's kind of why we we started that this too, is because we want to just show, like, hey, yeah, it doesn't have to be all or nothing or you know, certain everyone has their own journey that they're navigating, you know, everyone has a different dynamic.
• 1:03:04
SPEAKER_02: Everyone is, you know, doing their thing um and just trying to get ahead, uh, rightfully so, because we, you know, our system is so broken right now.
• 1:03:12
SPEAKER_02: But um, yeah, I think it's really important to have a uh open mind of saying, you know, yes, I love Bitcoin, like this is gonna be awesome.
• 1:03:21
SPEAKER_02: Like this is this is for sure gonna do what it's supposed to do.
• 1:03:24
SPEAKER_02: But yeah, life be life and you know, like it's gonna things are gonna happen where it's like, shoot, we don't have the finances right now, or we need those finances for this, and you have to be okay with that.
• 1:03:37
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 1:03:37
SPEAKER_00: And and just to add on that, like having responsibilities, you need to have a cash position.
• 1:03:42
SPEAKER_00: I I use I it doesn't I think even having kids, you have to have a cash position.
• 1:03:47
SPEAKER_00: The more your responsible responsibilities stack up, like okay, you go to single and then now you're going married.
• 1:03:52
SPEAKER_00: Okay, I need to have a cash position.
• 1:03:54
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay.
• 1:03:54
SPEAKER_00: You go from a couple to having a kid, I need to have a cash position.
• 1:03:59
SPEAKER_00: It just needs to grow.
• 1:04:00
SPEAKER_00: And we live like we do still live in a fiat world.
• 1:04:03
SPEAKER_00: Like this is our norm.
• 1:04:05
SPEAKER_00: Like we are making transactions with fiat.
• 1:04:07
SPEAKER_00: We are doing all this.
• 1:04:08
SPEAKER_00: Yes, we can do it with Bitcoin, but at the same time, like we have to understand the game that we're playing and where we're going.
• 1:04:14
SPEAKER_00: And so, no, I think that I think that was great, uh, Lindsay and and what you added to, Dan.
• 1:04:19
SPEAKER_00: And then also to just kind of like um, you know, wrap things up a little bit here, Lindsay.
• 1:04:23
SPEAKER_00: Um, what would you say?
• 1:04:24
SPEAKER_00: Like, what's one thing that you would share with someone um that's new to the Bitcoin space?
• 1:04:30
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I would just say that like owning any amount of Bitcoin is better than owning none.
• 1:04:35
SPEAKER_01: And you know, I've been talking to more people uh lately who don't own any, and a lot of those people are in my personal life more than on the internet, because I think that sometimes we get into like this echo uh chamber on the internet where like you're talking to the same people every single day, and then you're talking to the same people that have the same opinions that you do about certain things, and um, you think like Bitcoin's a no-brainer and everybody owns it.
• 1:04:59
SPEAKER_01: If you're on X, like that's what you think.
• 1:05:01
SPEAKER_01: And then you get out into the real world and you realize most people don't.
• 1:05:03
SPEAKER_01: And not only do they not own it, they don't even know what it is, they don't know how much it costs, they don't know what problem it solves, they don't know why it would be smart to even have any of it.
• 1:05:11
SPEAKER_01: Um and so I think for me it's you don't have to sell everything and go all into Bitcoin today, despite the things that you see on the internet and the things that you see people preaching.
• 1:05:23
SPEAKER_01: Um, I am a firm believer, and I didn't touch on this in the prior question, which I probably should have.
• 1:05:29
SPEAKER_01: Um I think that you should strive to have one whole Bitcoin before you're like, I'm you know, buying microstrategy stock or, you know, putting large amounts of money in these other plays, like buying ASST or buying MetaPlanet or buying all these things that are leveraged Bitcoin, which the reason you would buy one of those things is because you think Bitcoin is going to perform.
• 1:05:48
SPEAKER_01: And so you think that these companies that have this mass amount of Bitcoin on their balance sheet are going to perform at a higher rate, a lever a leverage Bitcoin play, meaning they're going to appreciate at a higher pace than Bitcoin is going to appreciate.
• 1:05:59
  unknown: I think.
• 1:06:00
SPEAKER_01: Trying to play those games if you don't own a good stack of Bitcoin is foolish.
• 1:06:05
SPEAKER_01: Um, but I don't think that, you know, owning stretch or owning SATA, um, if you don't have a full Bitcoin, I don't see a problem there because if people have a need for cash flow and they don't want to sell their Bitcoin, that is the play.
• 1:06:20
SPEAKER_01: Um so I think like getting to one whole Bitcoin should be everybody's goal, but you don't need to sell everything and go into Bitcoin today.
• 1:06:27
SPEAKER_01: If that looks like you buying$20 of Bitcoin every week, great.
• 1:06:30
SPEAKER_01: You know, if that looks like you not going out and getting fast food once a week or not going and getting, you know, a new pair of shoes every month, like you're like, okay, I'm just gonna do that every other month or whatever you do.
• 1:06:46
SPEAKER_01: Um, and I'm gonna put that money in Bitcoin, great.
• 1:06:48
SPEAKER_01: Um, but I think everybody should have some exposure to Bitcoin in their portfolio.
• 1:06:53
SPEAKER_01: Um, and I do think that the more you learn about Bitcoin, the larger that slice of your portfolio will become.
• 1:07:01
SPEAKER_01: Um, but starting small and like doing the education piece around it, reading the books or listening to the podcasts or um, you know, going YouTube videos, like all doing all of those things is going to build your conviction, which is what you need to hold on to the asset when it either doubles in price or drops in 50%, you know, by 50%.
• 1:07:20
SPEAKER_01: And if you don't have that conviction, you're either going to sell too early for like minor gains or you're gonna sell for a loss when it drops.
• 1:07:26
SPEAKER_01: Um, and so just owning it, just buying it without understanding it doesn't work.
• 1:07:31
SPEAKER_01: Just understanding it and doing the research without buying it doesn't work.
• 1:07:33
SPEAKER_01: And it's like this hand-in-hand process where you have to understand what you're buying and then put it in practice and buy some consistently at some consistent basis.
• 1:07:42
SPEAKER_01: Um, that is, I think, the the secret sauce or the key.
• 1:07:46
  SPEAKER_00: Nice.
• 1:07:47
  SPEAKER_02: Awesome.
• 1:07:47
SPEAKER_02: No, that's so that's such great advice.
• 1:07:50
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, for sure.
• 1:07:50
SPEAKER_02: You have to look kind of as you're learning, kind of start going, put some skin in the game as you're doing, you know, during the doing the research and and learning more about it.
• 1:07:58
SPEAKER_02: I think that's really important to do because we can talk ourselves into something really easily, and we can also talk ourselves out of something really quickly, too.
• 1:08:05
SPEAKER_02: Um but yeah, so thank you so much, Lindsay.
• 1:08:08
SPEAKER_02: This has been such a great conversation.
• 1:08:10
SPEAKER_02: We really appreciate your time and just value all of your insight and um really respect your um outlook and how you've approached, you know, going into Bitcoin and just your journey into, you know, finances and everything.
• 1:08:24
SPEAKER_02: So um would you share with our guests like where they can connect with you or you know, see some of your content?
• 1:08:29

SPEAKER_01: You can find me at Lindsay underscore underscore stamp.
• 1:08:35
SPEAKER_01: Um, I haven't I haven't been doing the whole YouTube video thing lately, so I'm I'm behind uh over there.
• 1:08:41
SPEAKER_01: So Twitter is the place.
• 1:08:43
  SPEAKER_02: Awesome.
• 1:08:44
