- 0:01What's going on, Thunder fans? Welcome back to your weekly
- 0:04episode of the Bring the Thunder podcast.
- 0:06I am here with the Thunder coverage, Jack.
- 0:10Today we got a few segments we're going to go over.
- 0:14Obviously, we like to get right into it first.
- 0:17We're just going to grade the thunders offseason moves,
- 0:21starting with drafting Thomas Sorber.
- 0:24So I'll let you Jack grade first.
- 0:28It hasn't changed since draft night.
- 0:29So I I got him as an A same reasons really, just but what we
- 0:35needed what we got good value again with an injury, but we
- 0:40haven't seen him play summer league.
- 0:41So this Nah, nothing has happened to make it go up or
- 0:44down. But I am a big fan of his
- 0:46defensive upside and yeah, good pick.
- 0:49Yeah. I'm a I'm a fan as well of the
- 0:51upside offensively and defensively showed a little
- 0:54promise shooting the ball mid range, obviously extremely long
- 1:01shot blocker and protects the paint.
- 1:04Could be, you know, the next Hartenstein for us.
- 1:07Hopefully. I think that's the idea.
- 1:10I believe on draft I had to add it's like a BABB plus something
- 1:13like that. I think it's going to stay
- 1:16there. Like you said, we haven't seen
- 1:18summer league out of him. He didn't play, but I he looks
- 1:22like a prospect that would fit with this team, which is
- 1:26exactly, you know, what OKC needs is just more players to
- 1:29fit their role on this team for now.
- 1:32So yeah, I I think BB Plus sounds about right and I'm
- 1:36looking, looking forward to seeing him soon.
- 1:41The next one is trading Nick Clifford or the 24th pick into
- 1:45the future. I think on draft night I gave an
- 1:48A minus and my reasoning was what else were we meant to do
- 1:52right? Like we had to trade it anyway.
- 1:54But now seeing Nick Clifford play summer league, it's gone
- 1:57down to AB because some of me is wondering how maybe Nick
- 2:02Clifford might be more of an impact than Jang is right now
- 2:07for us or how we could turn into a better player.
- 2:09So part of me is thinking, oh, if we just wave Jang and kept
- 2:12Nick Clifford, but still be like, we still got a first round
- 2:15pick in the future and you can't be too mad at it.
- 2:19But yeah, he's it was a pretty good pick by the Kings in the
- 2:22end. Yeah, good, good pick for the
- 2:24kings. Well, it looks like it's going
- 2:26to be anyway draft night. I had it as an incomplete grade.
- 2:31I I still kind of do. I mean, I can't really grade
- 2:34these until I I see, you know, Nick played really good in in
- 2:38summer league, but got to translate into, you know,
- 2:41regular season and and real minutes.
- 2:43So I'm going to keep it incomplete.
- 2:45Again, like you said, not much rostrum at all on this team.
- 2:53And I feel like OK, C wanted to go with, you know, they want
- 2:57another route for a reason. I think they believe in this
- 2:59guy. And that kind of brings us right
- 3:01into our next grade drafting. Brooks Barnheiser.
- 3:06I'll let you. I'll leave that one to you
- 3:08again. Before I begin, I want to say
- 3:10it's relative to like, it's not relative to the other one.
- 3:15So if Sorber gets an A Barnheiser isn't relative to
- 3:19Sorber, it's relative to pick, whatever second round pick.
- 3:23So I have, I haven't been an A+, which has gone up since draft
- 3:28night, which I believe is an A. But watching that summer league,
- 3:32I'm just like, this guy's going to be in the league for a long
- 3:34time. He's going to be a good role
- 3:36player. I mean, a second round pick,
- 3:39right? Like what?
- 3:40This is like a on the Aaron Wiggins level of second round
- 3:43picks. Like this is a great second
- 3:45round pick for shaping up, shaping up to be a great second
- 3:48round pick. This is obviously a summer
- 3:51league of reaction, but man, like what He was averaging 7
- 3:55seals for a solid 2-3 game stretch there in summer league.
- 3:58Like As for the second round picks, I think A+ because we
- 4:03couldn't have done any better. So that that's my reasoning for
- 4:07an A+. But like I said, Silver's an A
- 4:10and he's an A+, but they're different, different
- 4:13relativities. Right to to the pick itself.
- 4:18I honestly don't remember what I had this this graded as whatever
- 4:24it was, it's going to be higher now.
- 4:26I'd still say like BI think he's you know, he plays really hard
- 4:33plays good defense, you know knows he's a smart player.
- 4:37He says a lot to, you know, refine and refurbish but and
- 4:43develop. But I could see it.
- 4:46I could see why you think this could be on the Aaron Wiggins
- 4:48level type draft, you know, second round pick when you're in
- 4:55OK C if you play hard like this guy, you become a fan favorite
- 4:58pretty quickly. So I believe that will be him,
- 5:01especially being on a two way, hopefully, you know, getting
- 5:05some minutes as we're dominating teams throughout the season.
- 5:09So I like it. I'm going to keep it as AB, but
- 5:14I have yeah, like I'm I'm rooting for the guy for sure.
- 5:19It's also good that like we're in a spot where we're not
- 5:22relying on this pic. So makes me feel a bit better.
- 5:28Next up is trading Dylan Jones. Sad to see him go, but we didn't
- 5:34see much from him during the season and we needed that roster
- 5:37spot for Thomas Sorber so I gave it an A.
- 5:42We had to give up a second round pick, which isn't great and we
- 5:45already gave 5 second round picks to acquire him in the 1st
- 5:49place. So basically one year of Dylan
- 5:51Jones cost 6 second round picks, which I'm not a fan of, but he
- 5:55shot his press, he shot a shot. At least he moved on when he did
- 5:59because you wouldn't. You wouldn't want Jang and Dylan
- 6:04Jones taking up two roster spots because they could be something
- 6:08and just not the fans getting frustrated with that.
- 6:10So, right, yeah, just an A. He did what he needed to do.
- 6:16Yeah, he he was, you know, he was good for the team last year.
- 6:22Obviously, roster spots are are hard to come by right now in OK
- 6:25C and somebody had to be the odd man out.
- 6:29Jones ended up being that guy. I don't really have a grade for
- 6:35this. It just had to be done.
- 6:37It's kind of irrelevant. I mean, we love Dylan Jones as
- 6:40OK C fans, but I feel like it's just, you know, somebody had to
- 6:46go and it was going to be somebody that didn't really play
- 6:49and have much effect on the team.
- 6:51So I'm not going to end up reading this one kind of just
- 6:57it's a fine move. It had to be done.
- 7:01Next I have extending Shay. I think this is going to be
- 7:05we've talked a lot about it, but a plus obviously, I don't know
- 7:09sound like a broken record, but is we did what we have to do
- 7:14again, MVP what, not give him the money?
- 7:21Yeah, yeah, pretty simple. Definitely give him the money,
- 7:26lock him up as long as you can anytime you can extend that's
- 7:33top two NBA player and you know, not let him get to free agency
- 7:40like we have in the past is a great feeling.
- 7:43He's only getting, you know, he hasn't even reached his full
- 7:46peak yet, which is crazy to think about.
- 7:51Yeah, A+. What else can you say?
- 7:53The guy's a magician with the ball, a great player, a great
- 7:57human and a great leader for OK C and he's already got US1 chip.
- 8:04Now we got what, five more, five more six more years of this.
- 8:07So sign me up for that for sure. Next up is extending shit.
- 8:16I have an A so did what we needed to do.
- 8:21Had to lock him in, give him the the Max.
- 8:23I'll go with it. But it's it gets a bit tricky
- 8:27with the cap space and everything we've been talking
- 8:29about. But he's not quite on the same
- 8:31level as he's not quite on the same level as extending Shay, I
- 8:35don't think. Yeah, I agree.
- 8:38I actually gave this 1A minus, which is still a great, great
- 8:44grade, don't get me wrong, But I feel like Chut is extremely
- 8:48valuable to this team. We don't win anything without
- 8:51him. And obviously he hasn't even he
- 8:56he's played two seasons, right? So like 1 1/2 really.
- 8:59He had one full season and he was out this year.
- 9:01He was out his whole rookie year.
- 9:05So that's the only like kind of thing where it's like, OK,
- 9:07you're you're maxing out a guy who's only had one healthy
- 9:10season out of three. But I mean, if he stays healthy,
- 9:15he's one of the better players in the NBA.
- 9:19So sign him up again for till about 203031.
- 9:25Keep the team intact. A minus for me.
- 9:29Next up we have exciting Jada. I have an ad as well.
- 9:34He's second best player, 40 points in the final.
- 9:38You know, just the man, I guess. But I did what we have to do.
- 9:44Again, I think that's this offseason has just been just
- 9:47doing what we have to do. It's been very predictable and I
- 9:51impressed he hasn't screwed it up even though it'd be pretty
- 9:53hard to. But yeah, I.
- 9:55Was going to say predictable is a good thing here, but I, I gave
- 9:59this an A plus. I, I love Jalen Williams again,
- 10:03another guy who's only played three seasons now.
- 10:06So yeah, he was drafted with Chet, a plus for me because he
- 10:13he's not, he hasn't even scratched the surface yet and
- 10:16he's already put a 40 point game up in the finals.
- 10:18He's already one of our better playmakers on the team.
- 10:20He's super athletic, all NBA all defense, all NBA All Star 20
- 10:30about 2425 points per game in the finals.
- 10:34Fantastic Rd. play against Minnesota and Indiana.
- 10:40It doesn't get much better than J Dub in the league period.
- 10:43And you know, locking him in as well to 203031 keeping his big
- 10:48three together. It's an A+, this guy.
- 10:51I expect we'll get into that a little bit later, but I expect
- 10:54another huge jump from him next year to shoot him up into, you
- 10:58know, superstar, superstar area and lock him up to a plus move
- 11:03for sure. Extending AJ Mitchell, I have AB
- 11:09Plus. I think the contract is, is it
- 11:12three years, $9 million, which I think is really cheap for, for
- 11:16what he is. I mean, he was really good last
- 11:20season. Hopefully, I mean, obviously
- 11:21he'll get better because he was a rookie, but I think especially
- 11:24when his contracts kick in, he'll he'll be very valuable to
- 11:27us on their contract. So I'm going to beat past.
- 11:30Yeah, I, I like this one as well.
- 11:32I'm going to say Aaj showed a lot of potential in the summer
- 11:38league for sure. I mean, he looked too good for
- 11:40summer League almost. He showed a lot of potential in
- 11:42the regular season last year. Obviously had that foot injury,
- 11:46kept him up a while, wasn't able to finish out the regular
- 11:50season, came back in the play offs, but irrelevant minutes
- 11:51really. But including last year, you're
- 11:56pretty much getting four years of AJ Mitchell for $9 million
- 12:00total. Great signing, great contract,
- 12:03team friendly. And if he blossoms into a great
- 12:07backup point guard to Shay, I mean, look out.
- 12:10He also has shown that he could score, play, make, shoot the
- 12:13ball. Four years, 9 million pretty
- 12:16much, I'll take that for sure. Definitely extending Jalen
- 12:21Williams. Yeah, well, Jay will.
- 12:24I don't say the other Jalen Williams.
- 12:26Yeah, I have it as an A again, just doing what we need to do.
- 12:32He's a big piece of of the puzzle.
- 12:36Just a glue guy, really. Like, it'd be pretty sad to see
- 12:40him on another team, quite frankly, I don't think I could
- 12:43picture it. So it's really good to see him
- 12:45back and hopefully he'll stop Yokich again.
- 12:48Yeah, no way we could have let him walk.
- 12:53He kind of earned that. You know, he got 324, right?
- 12:57Three years, 24 mil. He kind of earned that extra
- 13:00like 2,000,000 per year in that Denver series.
- 13:05We could have gotten this guy back cheaper, but he came up
- 13:08huge in in that Denver series guarding Yokich big time threes,
- 13:12obviously a triple double machine when he starts in the
- 13:15regular season. So getting him back ultimate
- 13:19glue guy really good player. It it it needed to happen.
- 13:25I was you know, I would have been very concerned if it didn't
- 13:28happen. So yeah, keeping him with just
- 13:34great. I'll give.
- 13:35With every penny yeah, next resigning Brandon Carlson to his
- 13:41second two way contract. I have a bit of a joke, but a
- 13:48plus plus. I think he's got to be one of
- 13:52the best two way players in the league who I mean he's he's too
- 13:57good for two way really like he could be a rotational big man.
- 14:01We saw against the Cavs game like but getting him back like
- 14:05our two way is stacked at the moment.
- 14:07So I just, yeah, incredible job to get him back.
- 14:14Yeah, bring the Thunder here. Loves Brandon Carlson, diehards
- 14:17over here, a A+. This guy, like you said, is not
- 14:23a two way player, but he is for our team.
- 14:26We're able to do it. You know, had him on a two way
- 14:28last year, got him back on a two way, which I don't think I was
- 14:31really expecting. You know, good depth piece to
- 14:35have in case, you know, something crazy goes down.
- 14:38Showed flashes like you said in the game against Cleveland.
- 14:41Played very good and like the couple games he played in the
- 14:43summer league this year, outstanding getting them back on
- 14:48a two way. Really didn't think it was going
- 14:49to happen. But to round the segment off, we
- 14:54have the 2 two ways that we let walk Flagler and Ducas.
- 15:00It's pretty relevant, a bit like the Dylan Jones, right?
- 15:03But pretty hard to grade really. But it's cool to see Duke is
- 15:08going back to Australia and I think Flagler went to Atlanta
- 15:11for the summer league. So hopefully he can land a two
- 15:15way spot or a real spot there. But I think I'm just going to go
- 15:20for a combined grade here of B. Not much to it, but it just
- 15:24happened really. Yeah.
- 15:26Again, it's like you don't necessarily need to grade these.
- 15:32There will always be Alex Dukas day and Adam Flagler day in OK
- 15:35C, which is great. But I I'm not not to, you know,
- 15:40crap on these guys, but I think our two ways coming in this year
- 15:44a little bit stronger. Dukas is going back.
- 15:47He's playing. Where's he playing again, Jack?
- 15:53Christian Billets. There you go.
- 15:55There you go. And Flagler, I mean, he's going
- 15:59to go try to get a two way in Atlanta or Spot.
- 16:03Wished I'd done but the best. But it was just like Jones.
- 16:06It kind of had to be done. Yeah.
- 16:13All right, that wraps up the offseason move so far.
- 16:20I wanted to add one more. That hasn't happened yet.
- 16:23Maybe it will, maybe it won't. I'm not saying it will or it
- 16:27won't actually, but I just kind of wanted to talk about it.
- 16:29We're seeing all these, yeah, OG point guards go back to their
- 16:35teams. Dame resigned back in Portland,
- 16:38leaving Milwaukee after his way from Milwaukee.
- 16:41We got Chris Paul going back to the Clippers.
- 16:46There's a free agent out there that I think OKC could possibly
- 16:50get on a vet man. What are the odds of Westbrook
- 16:55gets step back to OK CI mean? I'm sure everybody would love
- 17:01it. The energy would be insane.
- 17:05You'd be a great mentor for the guards on this team.
- 17:07Super young guards. I just think it needs to get
- 17:10done at this point. No excuses here for me.
- 17:16I'm not quite on the same same train as you, I think.
- 17:20I mean, watching him last year, I think he still has one or two
- 17:22more seasons of being a rotational competitive player,
- 17:27which I don't think we can provide him at the moment.
- 17:29But I'm all for him coming back and sitting on the bench, you
- 17:33know, retiring as a Thunder, like a bit like Adonis Haslam in
- 17:37his last season. But I'm just not a fan of
- 17:39bringing him back now just because he used to play with us
- 17:42and then take away the minutes from Tobitch AJ, who we need to
- 17:46develop. And that's like what we're
- 17:48brought into our young core and building up as as a group.
- 17:52And we've invested a lot into these guys, so I wouldn't want
- 17:55to see their minutes just be stripped.
- 17:57Just. Just for a fun reunion, I guess,
- 18:01even even though it'd be really cool to see him back in OK C,
- 18:03but I don't think if he, if he comes back to OK CI, don't think
- 18:06he'll be in the rotation and I think it'll be more of just a
- 18:10farewell tour. Yeah, definitely.
- 18:13Yeah, definitely agree. We got, you know, the young guys
- 18:14to develop. I think he'd be great and
- 18:17helping those young guys develop if he was able to, you know, if
- 18:20he was willing to accept that role of, you know, like almost a
- 18:24player coach, like UD, you said. But I, I don't think he's there
- 18:28yet. I think he's still like
- 18:29competitive like we he he had a couple 30 point games last
- 18:33season if I'm not mistaken, like he was what 25 plus point games,
- 18:38but. Yeah, he started the.
- 18:40Season. He's still competing, yeah.
- 18:42There was they had Denver fans, you know, talk and they wanted
- 18:45Russ to start over Jamal Murray in the first half of the year.
- 18:47They were he was playing fantastic for them.
- 18:50But yeah, listen, I'll always leave it open.
- 18:55I'm not it would it would that'd be one of the craziest days in
- 19:00OK C history. Let me tell you about we'll see.
- 19:04I saw a report today that, oddly enough, he's NBA teams.
- 19:09Ben Simmons. Yeah, he has to sign somewhere.
- 19:15And that's slowing down Russ from, you know, slowing down
- 19:18Russ's market opening up, which makes no sense to me.
- 19:20But, yeah. But we'll see what happens with
- 19:22him. I always got my eyes on him.
- 19:26Who knows? All right.
- 19:29Next up we got, we're going to be grading OK, C jerseys, just a
- 19:37select few of mostly the alternate jerseys, but yeah,
- 19:42we're going to try to come up with a consensus tier list here.
- 19:46Yeah, let's get into it. First up, we have the 20/17/18
- 19:49City edition. Yeah.
- 19:52What do you think? For me, you guys are watching
- 19:55this transpire live here too. Jack and I really didn't, you
- 20:01know, talk about what we think about these.
- 20:04So we're kind of trying to read them equally together.
- 20:07I, I love those. I actually loved the 1718
- 20:10jerseys. I think they're a tier.
- 20:12I I thought they were great. Yeah, I I think it's probably
- 20:18one of the most unique, unique city edition jerseys we've ever
- 20:23had where they really try to use elements of the logo like the
- 20:26the spikes coming out of the the emblem.
- 20:29So, but for me it's B, but I can I can agree with A if you're not
- 20:33going to budget, but. No, I mean, I'm, I'm flexible.
- 20:36I, I loved them, but I, I actually liked a lot of these
- 20:39jerseys so. Yeah, you.
- 20:41Can throw it in be I'm looking at that.
- 20:44All right, Next up we have the 2020-2021.
- 20:51Would that be them? Yeah.
- 20:54The only thing I remember about these is Pokashewski wearing
- 20:56them. Really.
- 20:58Yes, very washed out Jersey. Not a lot of memories with that
- 21:03jersey just because of where we were at as a team.
- 21:05I actually didn't mind the jersey itself.
- 21:09What do you? In terms of jerseys, I don't
- 21:12know. In in terms of jerseys, it's
- 21:13quite a nice design. But then again, it kind of looks
- 21:15like AG League kind of design as well, but.
- 21:20GLC for me, I'm fine with legacy.
- 21:23Yeah. Also adding in that you know the
- 21:26the season itself wasn't too friendly to.
- 21:28OK, see I'm fine with AC right there all.
- 21:32Right Next up we have the 20/18/19 City Edition jerseys,
- 21:36which for me, I'll just go straight ahead, is automatically
- 21:39S tier. You got an S tier.
- 21:41I'd like to hear, I'd like to hear a rebuttal, but.
- 21:44Yeah, I enjoyed them. I think more of an A tier for
- 21:49me. Good season with them more than
- 21:55pretty often yeah. I don't have an SI have a few
- 22:02others down here on this list. I can go S not over you know not
- 22:06I can't choose that one over a few of these others.
- 22:08But if you want to throw it in S.
- 22:11I'll try persuade you as as we go on.
- 22:13We'll see. All right, Next up we have the
- 22:1720/21/22 City edition, the all white.
- 22:21What do you think about those? I absolutely love the all white.
- 22:25I I love the all white. Again, not a fantastic year for
- 22:29the team. I would love if they would bring
- 22:32them back. I know they're not going to, but
- 22:35that's S for me. I absolutely love that jersey.
- 22:38I think all white no KC looked fantastic.
- 22:42Your thoughts? Yeah, it's pretty hard to
- 22:46disconnect them from the team that they played with because
- 22:50obviously thinking of that season, there's not much not
- 22:54much highlights to it. But yeah, I can get behind S
- 23:00they're really, really smooth and clean and they don't look
- 23:03like AG league and they're unique.
- 23:05Like I think a lot of times I mean, we'll see it a bit later,
- 23:09but at jerseys are being pretty like down like looking the same
- 23:15year after year like so I think those are pretty good.
- 23:19Next up we have these ones. What do we think?
- 23:26Those jerseys, what's a good time?
- 23:29That was still Durant and Rush. I didn't hate them, I didn't
- 23:35love them. I'm fine with like an A or B
- 23:39there. They're solid jerseys.
- 23:42I would like the like the Navy ish blue.
- 23:45It was good seasons with them so B or A is fine by me.
- 23:49Yeah, I think they're quite nostalgic now.
- 23:52I'm seeing a lot of Steven Adams jerseys being sold in this,
- 23:56especially here in New Zealand. But yeah, I'm cool with BI think
- 24:02as a jersey design. They're not, they're not
- 24:04awesome. But I think there's a lot of
- 24:06letters going going down one side and not much else to it.
- 24:09It's pretty pretty basic, but. Right.
- 24:12Yeah, I'm pretty happy with B. We have this year's City
- 24:15Edition. What do we think?
- 24:19Yeah, the team loves it, seem to wear it often.
- 24:25I don't know. I don't know how much like the
- 24:27black works for OKC. We won a lot of games in them.
- 24:36What do you think? I'll, I'll deflect to you.
- 24:38I'll defer to you first. Yeah.
- 24:40I really like these because I mean, it is the third season in
- 24:43a row where we've had a black base uniform, but I think third
- 24:48time's a charm because they perfected it on this one.
- 24:51The blue on the side is really nice.
- 24:54It's got some good elements and it really utilizes the yellow,
- 24:57which is one of the OKC's colours, but we never see it.
- 25:03So I'm I'm pretty, I know I I think in between A&B, but.
- 25:07I'm I'm fine with AI think. I They're really clean and.
- 25:13This year, so I think it works. And and when, when the players
- 25:17accessorize with the black headbands, black shoes, I think
- 25:19it looks really sleek, especially on the the NBA Cup
- 25:23courts, I think. That is really good, definitely.
- 25:27Definitely. Next up we have 20/20/21 City
- 25:31Edition. Yeah, absolutely hated it.
- 25:34I think it's ugly. I date here.
- 25:37For me, I I just did not like these jerseys at all.
- 25:44Yeah, I can get behind that. I just really think of Blue Dart
- 25:48when I see these jerseys. I think that's the only thing
- 25:52that really comes to mind. But in terms of jerseys, they
- 25:55don't really look. They just don't really look like
- 25:58an NBA jersey at all. Quite basically.
- 26:00Like, I don't really know what's going on, but yeah, not not the
- 26:06best design. Next up we have the 20/17/2019
- 26:12statement jerseys. I think for me this is very
- 26:19similar to the the city edition from that year or the year after
- 26:25the one that I had an A possibly yes.
- 26:26So I'm I'm around that ranch, but.
- 26:30Yeah, I definitely agree. Definitely agree.
- 26:32Those are salad jerseys. I'm good with a for sure.
- 26:38You know, it's odd. Oddly enough, I kind of think of
- 26:40like for some reason like Alex Sabrina's is like the first that
- 26:46pops in my head. Shout out the goat.
- 26:49He just retired. Yeah, I see it.
- 26:54I see it. I see a bit more of Carmelo
- 26:59maybe or Paul George. I guess that makes sense, except
- 27:07we had 2019-2020 City Edition Jersey.
- 27:10Or should we just call it the Chris Paul Jersey?
- 27:12Really. But.
- 27:13Absolutely the Chris Paul Jersey.
- 27:18I think it's going to be quite high for me because it's the
- 27:22first time. Like gold is a pretty cool
- 27:24color. Although yeah, I don't know.
- 27:29It's It's basic but unique. Yeah, I actually like them.
- 27:36When they were on the court when they originally came out with
- 27:38these, I was like, I don't know, I don't know how high you would
- 27:44like to go. I kind of put it in like AB or
- 27:49yeah, I kind of put. It in B I'd say top of B for me,
- 27:53but what do you think? Better or worse than the Gray
- 27:55ones? I just love those Gray ones.
- 27:59A bit below that. I thought those were fantastic.
- 28:05All right, Next up we have the 20/22/23 City edition.
- 28:12Looking back at these, I'm actually quite high on them.
- 28:14Like they they weren't too bad really.
- 28:16I think the grey was unique at the time and interesting touch,
- 28:23but again, not a great time for OKC Thunder basketball.
- 28:26But so a pretty solid jersey in my opinion.
- 28:30Maybe BT? Yeah, I'm indifferent.
- 28:36B sounds fine. And then last but not least,
- 28:41last season City Edition or last last season's now 2324.
- 28:47I don't know how to feel about these to be honest.
- 28:58I kind of like them and see. Yeah, top of sea for me, I can
- 29:03see that. But.
- 29:03What's my favorite? I think this year's blackout
- 29:07jerseys is a much better upgrade than, you know, this one we're
- 29:11looking at. Pretty solid list I think.
- 29:16Any any discrepancies or anything you don't like?
- 29:21No, I mean, I think it's a good list.
- 29:24I do. I think it's a good list.
- 29:26Yeah, I think we've made a pretty solid list.
- 29:29With the jerseys, you know, so it's tough.
- 29:32I think hopefully we'll we'll rank some other jerseys in
- 29:36another video in the future. That's the city, City 1.
- 29:39So look out for that one for that video.
- 29:44OK, Next up, we have some over underlines.
- 29:50I'll just pull them up. We have Lou dot over under 42%
- 29:55for three. I believe he shot 41 point
- 29:58something this season. Yeah, he was damn near 42 this
- 30:03past season. 43 is a really good.
- 30:07No regression. 43 is a really good shooter, like an excellent
- 30:12shooter. Tough.
- 30:18It's it's a good line. I think I'm going to go a little
- 30:21bit of a regression, maybe around 40%.
- 30:23Hopefully he sits around because 43 puts you up there.
- 30:31So hopefully I hope that he sits around 40%.
- 30:34I'll take the under though. Yeah, I think I'm going to take
- 30:40the under as well. Just I don't think he'll
- 30:43improve. I don't think he'll regress too
- 30:46much either. But I think coming into last
- 30:50season, he wasn't exactly known as a consistent shooter like
- 30:54he's that he's been a lot of work into a shot.
- 30:56So I think now the scout will change on him and people will be
- 30:59more aware of his shooting. And.
- 31:03I think that'll be, yeah, more addressed for the players.
- 31:08Yeah, I mean, it was 40, it was about 41 point whatever like you
- 31:12said throughout the season. Then he struggled early in the
- 31:15playoffs, but then really, you know, turned it on towards the
- 31:17end in the championship as well. So like you said, people aren't
- 31:21going to be leaving him, you know, as open as as they have in
- 31:24the past. So little bit of a regression,
- 31:26but nothing crazy hopefully. Next up, we have Shay over under
- 31:3151% from the field. Over for me.
- 31:37What do you think I? Think I think he gets over.
- 31:41I think the next step for Shay is about a 504090 season.
- 31:47He improves that 3 point shot to a 40%.
- 31:50I know he's going to stay over 51.
- 31:53I think 5049 is coming up soon for him.
- 31:56Yeah, that's a good point. On the three-point shot.
- 31:58I think this field goal present is mainly just tanked by his
- 32:01three-point shot at the moment when he's shooting 8, maybe 12
- 32:05threes in a game. So now that I'm thinking about
- 32:09it, originally I was maybe leaning towards under, but he is
- 32:13one of the most efficient scorers of all time so I'm going
- 32:16to confidently say over now. Yeah.
- 32:20Next we have Casey Wallace over under 1.9 steals per game.
- 32:26I'm going to let you go first on this one.
- 32:29I'm going to go well. The reason I made this was
- 32:34because I didn't know well. I'm assuming he's going to be
- 32:39getting a bit more minutes, possibly starting some games
- 32:42based of what we saw in the finals, and he's due to take
- 32:46another leap in progression. I think he averaged 1.5.
- 32:54I ran that mark last season. Lead was actually like 1.81
- 32:58point 91.8. I'll double check on that but I
- 33:04believe it was like 1.8. Definitely could be.
- 33:08So yeah, it's I think this is the toughest one I've made, but
- 33:12I think I'm going to go over 1.8.
- 33:16I'm going to go over just because I guess there's an
- 33:19argument that the team defense will be better, but like, so
- 33:22it'll be more shared around a number of players, but I think
- 33:26he his his leap will solidify that hopefully.
- 33:31So I'm going to go over. Two steals a game is fantastic
- 33:37and I'm expecting more minutes as well this year.
- 33:40Give me the over as well. I mean, the dude's an animal on
- 33:43the defensive side of the ball. He never slows down Reed's
- 33:47passing lanes. Guards one-on-one.
- 33:50I'm going to take the over. If there's more minutes, it's
- 33:54going over for sure. Next up, Hartenstein over under
- 34:009 1/2 rebounds per game. I'm just going to go over plain
- 34:05and simple. I think if he's not starting,
- 34:07he'll be sick, man. Or yeah, should be.
- 34:12And we are notoriously pretty bad at rebounding as a team.
- 34:17So he picks up a lot of that slack.
- 34:20So I think when he's on he'll he'll make the most of
- 34:22rebounding. And he knows his role is mainly
- 34:24to rebound on this team and set screen.
- 34:26So he he he's confident in his ability to do that and knows
- 34:30that that's what the team needs. So I'm going to go over.
- 34:34Yeah, this year he was sitting at 10.7 a game.
- 34:37You add Sorber into that mix, but I still don't think that
- 34:40affects, you know, him to fall under 9 1/2.
- 34:42I still think he should be around double digits, so I'll
- 34:45take the over as well. OK Next up we have J Dub over
- 34:49under 5 assists per game. So I think he was sitting at 5
- 34:55or maybe 4.5, but some factors. 5.15.1. 5.1 That's right.
- 35:03And then so yeah, some factors that Topics and AJ are coming
- 35:08in. So they'll be doing a lot more
- 35:09facilitating this year, whereas we didn't have either of them
- 35:13for most, well for most of last year.
- 35:15So it was mainly on JW to be the the secondary facilitator, which
- 35:19he did a great job of. So I'm going to go under just
- 35:24based off the idea of Topics coming in and doing what he's
- 35:29meant to be doing. What do you think?
- 35:34This is super interesting for me 'cause he averaged about 21.6
- 35:39points per game, I'm expecting a lead to like 25 points per game.
- 35:43I talked about this in our past videos.
- 35:45I think he's going to be hitting about 25 a game.
- 35:49He was at 5 rebounds and five assists last year.
- 35:53If the points go up, dude, does that make the assist go down a
- 35:57little? I'm not sure.
- 35:59I think he's going to be ultra aggressive all year.
- 36:06It's a tough one. It's such a good line.
- 36:09Like I think he's going to sit at I'm I'm going to call.
- 36:12I think he sits at 5:00 this year.
- 36:13Again, I think I'm just going to say I'm just flat taking him
- 36:18five. He's going to hit. 5 override
- 36:21it, yes, yes, OK. And the last one, I think we
- 36:27touched on that earlier, Chet hungry over under 41 games
- 36:31playing. Yeah, I'm going to pray that
- 36:33it's over. I believe that it's going to be
- 36:35over. I think, you know, the hip
- 36:37injury was a freak accident. Obviously, he went up to
- 36:40contest, fell on his head. What are you going to do about
- 36:43it? He's going to gain some muscle,
- 36:47gain some strength over the offseason.
- 36:48He's going to continue to get a little bit bigger.
- 36:51His rookie season was fine. Well, Tech, his first season was
- 36:56fine, and then obviously his rookie season, the foot injury,
- 37:01but that was freak too. That was in like Pro Am with
- 37:05LeBron James and stuff. So yeah, I'm expecting a healthy
- 37:09season for Chet, A healthier season.
- 37:12You know, I don't need him to play 82, but anything over like
- 37:1564 is is great for Chet this year.
- 37:18Yeah, I'm taking the over. I'm hoping it'll hit as well
- 37:22because he's a big part of the game and I think he only played
- 37:2536 games last year, which is. Insane.
- 37:28Pretty, yeah. Pretty insane.
- 37:30Like thinking about it like only 36 and we still finished.
- 37:35Yeah. As we go back and he only played
- 37:3936, you know, around 36 games in the regular season and OK, so
- 37:44he's still finished with 68 regular season win.
- 37:46It's like, unbelievable. Yeah, what a season we had.
- 37:52Well, that's it for the over underlines.
- 37:56Moving on. Yeah, I mean, one more guy I'd
- 38:00shout out. I'm not going to spend a whole
- 38:03lot of time on this. Listen, we can flashback the
- 38:11last trade deadlines episode this past evening.
- 38:15There's a guy out there restricted free agent.
- 38:19Brooklyn's only offering him $7,000,000 a year, $7,000,000
- 38:25Cam Thomas We saw the lack of scoring off the bench in the in
- 38:30the playoffs. It was a real thing.
- 38:32We still won the championship. I know we have guys coming in
- 38:36just I, I, I all I want to say is keep your eye out for that
- 38:39guy. I don't think we're going to
- 38:40sign them, but $7,000,000, it's not hard to beat.
- 38:45What are your thoughts? Are there?
- 38:49Are there? Are there any?
- 38:51Yeah, I haven't really considered Cam Thomas at all,
- 38:56but then again, as a Thunder fan, knowing that we've had all
- 39:0015 roster spots and we're pretty stacked this year that I haven't
- 39:03really considered many free agents.
- 39:06I think $7,000,000 is just a massive middle finger to him
- 39:10though, because he's definitely better than that.
- 39:12But obviously we've seen like Giddy himself, Kim manga just
- 39:17being screwed over by the restricted free agent as as
- 39:20restricted free agents. Hopefully he'll land somewhere.
- 39:24But I mean, I I see where you're coming up coming from with the
- 39:28scoring off the bench. But yeah, I'm not sure if he's
- 39:32the answer for OK C, but I I'm sure he will be doing good next
- 39:36season wherever he ends up. I just I just.
- 39:39Just speculating, just. Speculating, just saying like 7
- 39:42million, you know, like just keep an eye out.
- 39:46Yeah, yeah, yeah. We get Yeah, I guess that'll
- 39:51wrap up this episode, episode 18 now already.
