- 0:32We thank you, Father, that you are allowing us to feel the
- 0:35depths of your love. Father, we thank you that we can
- 0:38swim in the deep end. We thank you that we can search
- 0:41out truth. We thank you, God, that you are
- 0:44truth. We thank you for the gems and
- 0:46the jewels. God.
- 0:47We thank you for all the prophecies that have been
- 0:49fulfilled and are being fulfilled and will be fulfilled.
- 0:53We thank you, God, that you have called us out.
- 0:56We thank you, God, that we are chosen.
- 0:59We thank you, God, that you, Lord, have put your finger upon
- 1:04the things in our lives, God, that do not belong.
- 1:06You're helping us, Lord. You're putting it under the
- 1:09microscope, Lord. You're putting it under the
- 1:12blood of Christ. You're putting it under the
- 1:14cross, God. And so I pray in the name of
- 1:16Jesus that you help us to walk in our bridal identity.
- 1:20Lord, I pray in the name of Jesus that you help us, Father,
- 1:23to know that we're children of you, the Most High.
- 1:26God, we thank you, Father, for purpose.
- 1:29We thank you, Father, for meaning.
- 1:31We thank you, Father, that you have set us in heights.
- 1:34You have set us there with you in heavenly places.
- 1:37So thank you, Father, for all the miraculous things that
- 1:40you've done for us just today. Thank you for the breath in our
- 1:44lungs, thank you for the capillaries, our heart that
- 1:46beats. Thank you for sight and thank
- 1:48you Lord, for the ability to hear.
- 1:51Lord, I thank you that we can peek and peer into the
- 1:54spiritual. I thank you, Father, for
- 1:57spiritual eyes. God, that we can see what is
- 2:00actually happening all around us today, each and every day.
- 2:05I thank you, God, that you have called us to be your ministers
- 2:10of reconciliation. You have called us into the
- 2:13ministry, Father. You have called us into the
- 2:17fertile soil. You have called us into rescuing
- 2:21those and snatching them out of the fire and snatching them out
- 2:26of the frigid waters, God, and into the lifeboats.
- 2:29Lord, I thank you that you are the parachute.
- 2:31I thank you, Father, that you are helping glide us through all
- 2:36of the turmoil and the tomo and all the chaos surrounding us.
- 2:40God, I thank you for the place of peace, Father, that
- 2:44everywhere that we go, everywhere that we touch,
- 2:46everywhere that we sit, Father, God is peace because you are
- 2:50there and you said we're two or more gathered together.
- 2:53There you are also. So God, I thank you for the
- 2:56promises contained in this book. I thank you, Father, that we're
- 2:59going from glory to glory. Thank you, Jesus, for all the
- 3:03many things that you do for us. Thank you, Jesus, for what you
- 3:06have done for us. I pray, Holy Spirit, that you
- 3:09come in. You be our teacher.
- 3:11Fill us today, Holy Spirit. Correct us today, Holy Spirit.
- 3:15Discipline us today, Holy Spirit, I pray you'll convict us
- 3:20today. Holy Spirit, I decrease as you
- 3:23increase. Be our teacher, be our God.
- 3:27Hide me, hide my thoughts, hide my words, and let this be all
- 3:31about Yahweh everlasting, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob
- 3:36Forever and ever, the Ancient of Days.
- 3:38We say yes and Amen to all of the words and all of the periods
- 3:44and the commas, the jots and the titles.
- 3:47Lord of this book, I thank you, Father, for all of the things
- 3:51that you have done and are doing.
- 3:53We love you, Lord Jesus, We enter your gates with praise and
- 3:58Thanksgiving for you. Our holy, holy.
- 4:01Holy is the Lord God Almighty who was and is and is to come.
- 4:07We worship you in spirit and truth today.
- 4:09We love you, Father. It's all about Jesus.
- 4:14It's all about you. It's all about the Kingdom.
- 4:17Come here on earth, just as it is there in heaven.
- 4:21Let your will be done, Father, here on earth, just as it is
- 4:25there in heaven. Keep us, Lord, from temptation.
- 4:28Keep us, Lord, from sinning. Keep us, Lord, from distraction.
- 4:33Keep us, Lord, from being double minded.
- 4:35Keep us, Lord, from all of the sinful desires and lusts of the
- 4:41eyes and lusts of the flesh and the pride of life.
- 4:43God, I pray you'll keep us from those things.
- 4:46Lord, make us holy because you are holy.
- 4:49Yes, sanctify us, purify us, consecrate us.
- 4:53God, drive out all of the things in our lives that are not adding
- 4:58up, that are not getting us into the sanctification, making us
- 5:03more like Jesus today. Lord, I pray you will rid us of
- 5:07those things, for you are a holy and gracious God, forever to be
- 5:11praised. We love of you and it's in Jesus
- 5:15Christ, holy, precious, righteous, powerful, strong name
- 5:24that I pray, Amen. Let's start in verse one.
- 5:30And after six days Jesus took Peter, James and John his
- 5:35brother and brought them up into a high mountain apart.
- 5:41So you have to understand that all the chapters and verses in
- 5:45the Bible, they were not placed there before 16 hundreds.
- 5:52So prior, when all of the manuscripts and whenever the
- 5:57original Greek and Hebrew and Aramaic were all compiled, they
- 6:03would have been a long scroll and it would have went on.
- 6:07And we have these breaks in chapters and breaks in verses
- 6:13and it makes it a whole lot easier for us to reference.
- 6:16It makes it a whole lot easier to memorize.
- 6:18Praise the Lord God, Hallelujah, John 316.
- 6:24We can remember it, it's very simple, we can go right to it.
- 6:28But prior to the 1600s, that was not the case.
- 6:32And so therefore this is a continuation of verse 28 of
- 6:39chapter 16 when Jesus said, truly I say unto you, there be
- 6:43some standing here which shall not taste of death until they
- 6:48see the Son of Man coming in his Kingdom.
- 6:50And that would have flowed on the parchment, that would have
- 6:53flowed on the papyrus, that would have flowed right into.
- 6:58And after six days, Jesus took Peter, James and John his
- 7:03brother and brought them into a high mountain apart, which we're
- 7:06going to see in verse 2 what it's all about too, and was
- 7:10transfigured before them. And his face did shine as the
- 7:18sun and his clothing was white as the light.
- 7:25Think about it, friends. Jesus allowed his glory to
- 7:33shine. Jesus finally allowed them to
- 7:37see Him as He truly was. This was not just a special gift
- 7:43from God that allowed Jesus to shine bright like the sun.
- 7:48No, Jesus is God Incarnate and He was unveiling the glory that
- 7:56He hid within from mankind during this time.
- 8:02How amazing is it? And we're going to see what he
- 8:05meant in verse 28 whenever we get to see his Kingdom came to
- 8:13this earth. And Jesus here is revealing his
- 8:17kingship. He's revealing that he is the
- 8:20King of kings here in this moment.
- 8:23So if you can imagine going outside and looking up at the
- 8:27sun, try to stare at the sun. You will not be able to for more
- 8:34than a millisecond. It will blind you.
- 8:38And here it says that he was shining like the sun, and his
- 8:44clothing was white as the light. Can you imagine this, friends?
- 8:48Can you even see it? 3 And behold, there appeared
- 8:56unto them Moses and Elijah, talking with him.
- 9:02So here we get to see the Kingdom come to the earth.
- 9:07Lock in, pay attention. Jesus is the representative of
- 9:13the King on the throne during the Millennium reign, during the
- 9:18thousand year reign. Jesus ruling and reigning on the
- 9:22throne. Here is Moses who is a
- 9:26representative of all those that have died in Christ and they
- 9:32have come back in bodily form. Here is Elijah which is a
- 9:37representative of all those that were taken up that are going to
- 9:41be taken up in the rapture. That is how Elijah left and they
- 9:46are all represented here in this trifecta of Jesus as the King on
- 9:52the throne during the thousand year reign.
- 9:56They are there with Moses who is the representative of all those
- 10:02that have died but come back in their new resurrected bodies.
- 10:06And there is Elijah, all those that were taken up to meet him
- 10:11in the clouds to be with him forever more.
- 10:14And of course, another application is this is Jesus,
- 10:19who is the fulfillment of the law and the prophets, which
- 10:24Moses represents the law and Elijah represents all the
- 10:29prophets. And you can see it all fulfilled
- 10:32here in Christ Jesus. And here are the three
- 10:35disciples, Peter, James, and John, and they're looking upon
- 10:40this scene. They're actually getting to see
- 10:45Moses. They're actually getting to see
- 10:47Elijah. And they were talking with Jesus
- 10:51and they were telling him that He was going to go to the cross,
- 10:55that He was going to glorify the Father at the Passover, that He
- 10:59was going to be the spotless lamb.
- 11:03And there was only one found worthy to open the scroll.
- 11:06And that's what we need to understand.
- 11:08This whole scene is painting such a beautiful picture of what
- 11:12Jesus said. Truly I say unto you, there be
- 11:15some standing here which shall not taste of death until they
- 11:19see the Son of Man coming in His Kingdom.
- 11:22This is the Son of Man coming in His Kingdom.
- 11:26Friends, don't miss it. This was a metamorphosis from
- 11:31the inside out. He was shining.
- 11:34He was revealing the glory that was hidden inside of him.
- 11:38Friends, what a beautiful picture, what a beautiful
- 11:42portrait this is for. And then answered Peter and said
- 11:48unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here, if you will.
- 11:57Let us make here 3 tabernacles, one for you and one for Moses,
- 12:02and 1:00 for Elijah. So he's trying to put Jesus on
- 12:06an equal platform with Moses and Elijah.
- 12:09He's trying to degrade the glory of Jesus Christ to the law and
- 12:15the prophets. He's trying to put them on the
- 12:17same platform there. And let's see what God Almighty
- 12:21has to say about it. And imagine here the prophets
- 12:25are, the disciples are looking upon Jesus, who is shining as
- 12:31bright as the sun, a billion Suns, and he's shining bright
- 12:36and his clothing is made like light.
- 12:39And here is Moses and Elijah. What a profound scene.
- 12:45What an amazing scene this must have been.
- 12:49And here they are steadily looking upon.
- 12:53And Peter has a knack for putting his foot in his mouth,
- 12:56and he says, Lord, let us make for you booths like we do in the
- 13:02festivals. Let us make booths for you and
- 13:06Elijah and Moses five, while he yet spoke, behold, a bright
- 13:15cloud overshadowed them. And behold a voice out of the
- 13:22cloud which said, This is my beloved son, in whom I am well
- 13:27pleased. Listen to him, hear you him.
- 13:38The voice of God thunders. I don't know if you've ever been
- 13:42out in the woods and there has been a mighty crack of lightning
- 13:48and Thunder and everything in the woods goes silent.
- 13:58It would have been much like that moment where everything
- 14:03goes silent. You can see that this cloud has
- 14:09overshadowed God Almighty, because no man can look upon him
- 14:14and live. And here the disciples were
- 14:17staring steadily at Jesus and Moses and Elijah, so much so
- 14:23that that Peter could speak. And he says something that is
- 14:27ignoramus. And immediately God interrupts
- 14:32in thunders and lightnings from on high, and he says, This is my
- 14:38son, who I am well pleased. He puts his stamp of approval
- 14:45upon the life of Jesus. And he says listen to him.
- 14:52Listen, is what God is telling Peter. 6 And when the disciples
- 15:02heard it, they fell on their face and were sore afraid.
- 15:07This is the appropriate response.
- 15:10This is when we fall on our face in the presence of God because
- 15:15the Shekinah glory has come and the ministers could not even
- 15:19minister because of the weight of God's presence.
- 15:24I pray that you have been part of this moment.
- 15:27I pray that you understand this weight that comes where you
- 15:31cannot even speak and it is ecstasy and it is a bounding
- 15:43joy. It is the most pleasure that you
- 15:48will ever experience. It goes into the fibers of your
- 15:53being. It supersedes any emotion.
- 15:57It supersedes any feeling. It supersedes any chemical
- 16:05release inside of your body. It supersedes every bit of it.
- 16:09This kind of glory of God, it will cause you to be undone.
- 16:17And here you can see it in these three disciples, when God
- 16:21speaks. 7 And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise,
- 16:29do not be afraid. You know, every time that the
- 16:34angels would appear unto man, they would become sore afraid
- 16:38like this, and they would say, Do not be afraid, do not fear.
- 16:43Here Jesus, He models that so many times.
- 16:47We see the chrystophanes, we see Christ before he was ever born.
- 16:51Show up on the scene so many times and you can see it here in
- 16:55his bodily form saying the same thing.
- 16:58Do not be afraid. He tells you that today over and
- 17:03over and over and over and over throughout the word of God.
- 17:07He says do not fear. Do not be afraid if we will fear
- 17:11God. Everything else douse.
- 17:14Everything else bows unto the weight of God Almighty.
- 17:19He is the Creator of all things seen and unseen.
- 17:24He is the Lord over the entire earth, over the universe, over
- 17:31the angelic and over mankind. Every fish, every bird, every
- 17:36animal that walks on dry land, He is Lord.
- 17:42He is Lord over every geographical place on planet
- 17:46earth. He is Lord, do not be afraid. 8
- 17:54And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man
- 17:57except Jesus only. That is where we have to get to
- 18:01friends. We cannot look to Moses and the
- 18:03Law. We cannot look to the legalism
- 18:06of it all. We cannot think by upholding all
- 18:09of the rules and regulations of the Law is going to get us into
- 18:13heaven. And we cannot look to all of the
- 18:16prophets. We cannot look and try to get in
- 18:20by the way of all of the prophets.
- 18:22We have have to look only to Jesus and Jesus alone.
- 18:27He is the author and the perfector of our faith.
- 18:30He is going to lead us home friends, He is our treasure.
- 18:35He is our everything. Give Him His glory today
- 18:40friends, we need to see no man except Jesus only. 9 And when
- 18:44they had came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them,
- 18:47saying, tell the vision to no man until the Son of man be
- 18:51risen again from the dead. So here in verse 9 he tells them
- 18:56over and over and over. This is how God gets our
- 19:00attention, friends. He tells us the same thing over
- 19:04and over, over and over and over again, just like little
- 19:09children. He reminds us of the same things
- 19:12over and over and over again because He knows that we are
- 19:17thick scold. He knows that we will forget.
- 19:20He knows that he has to drill it in.
- 19:22He knows that there has to be repetition.
- 19:25And here Jesus is telling them again and again and again that
- 19:29I'm going to die. I'm going to be raised again.
- 19:32I'm going to be resurrected. I we'll come back to life and
- 19:36what does the Bible say? 10 and his disciples asked him,
- 19:41saying, why then say the scribes that Elijah must first come?
- 19:47Are they questioning the Lord? They're saying we see you first
- 19:53and then we just saw Elijah. But the Bible and Malachi
- 19:57chapter 4, it says that Elijah will come first.
- 20:01So. What is happening here?
- 20:03Are you even the Messiah here? Jesus is telling them don't go
- 20:08down and tell the other 9 disciples because they will not
- 20:13understand what it is that you're trying to say and they
- 20:16will think that you are trying to be some kind of super St. and
- 20:19we're going to see a dispute break out amongst them about who
- 20:22is the greatest very soon. And so therefore you can see why
- 20:27Jesus is saying don't tell them. But here they're questioning it
- 20:31all and they're saying why does the Bible say?
- 20:34Why does the Holy Scriptures 400 years ago say that Elijah will
- 20:41come first? Let's see what Jesus has to say.
- 20:4511 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elijah truly shall
- 20:49first come and restore all things he's talking about here
- 20:54in the Tribulation. There will be the two witnesses,
- 20:58and Elijah will be one of them. He's talking about right before
- 21:03Jesus comes to restore all things.
- 21:05Elijah will come as one of the two witnesses. 12 But I say unto
- 21:11you, that Elijah has already come, and they knew him not, but
- 21:16have done unto him whatsoever they listed.
- 21:19Likewise shall also the Son of Man suffer of them.
- 21:23So here he's talking about John the Baptist, here he's talking
- 21:26about the ministry of John the Baptist.
- 21:29Even if you look at whenever Elijah, whenever he was opposing
- 21:35Jezebel and King Ahab, and then you can see how John the Baptist
- 21:40opposed Herod the Tetchart and Herodias.
- 21:44What a similarity. Look at the outer garment of the
- 21:50hairy cloak. Look at the leather belt.
- 21:54It's very similar how John the Baptist came as a wild man just
- 21:58like Elijah. And here Jesus is saying that if
- 22:02you will accept it, Elijah has already come in the form in the
- 22:07Spirit, and he was with John the Baptist.
- 22:12So here we need to understand Jesus.
- 22:15This is the second time Jesus has said this.
- 22:18He said, if you would, if you will accept it. 13 Then the
- 22:22disciples understood that he spoke unto them of John the
- 22:27Baptist. Very plain stuff.
- 22:28The Bible makes it as clear as possible here, friends. 14 And
- 22:33when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a
- 22:35certain man kneeling down to him and saying, What did he say?
- 22:4215 Lord have mercy on my son, for he is lunatic and sore
- 22:52vexed, for often times he falls into the fire and often into the
- 22:57water. So here we can see he was
- 23:00seizing and convulsing. He was moonstruck as the literal
- 23:04translation would say, which is why it was translated lunatic.
- 23:08He was moonstruck and we can see in a minute that this was a
- 23:13demonic possession. We can see it was trying to kill
- 23:17the boy, and that is what the enemy will always do.
- 23:20He never changes this. The same mission objective is
- 23:24the same MO since the garden. He is here to steal, kill and
- 23:30destroy. And He will steal your joy, and
- 23:33He will kill your body, and He will destroy your marriage and
- 23:37your testimony. And that is what He does.
- 23:39He might not be able to snatch you out of God's hands, but He
- 23:43sure can get you to make a mess out of your life.
- 23:46Look at all the ministers and pastors who led so many people
- 23:50to the Lord and it was authentic.
- 23:52And then at the end of their life, what happened?
- 23:55It was uncovered that they were fraudulent.
- 23:59It was uncovered that they were deceptive.
- 24:02Does that undo all of their ministry?
- 24:05Does that undo all of those that came into the fold by their
- 24:10testimony? No.
- 24:11But look at how the enemy sure made a mess and a mockery of the
- 24:17cross of Christ by getting them to squander and to compromise on
- 24:22the little things. And it is the same for you and
- 24:26for me if we are not guarded. Friends, he sure will destroy
- 24:33and kill, and he sure will steal your testimony if you allow him
- 24:39to. Friends, let's keep our oil
- 24:44filled, our Wicks trim our lamps full.
- 24:46Friends, be the wise virgin in these last hours. 16 And I
- 24:54brought him to your disciples, and they could not cure him. 17
- 24:58And then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse
- 25:03generation, how long shall I be with you?
- 25:07How long shall I suffer you? Bring him here to me.
- 25:12Jesus knew that his time was short.
- 25:14Jesus is asking when he returns, will he even find faith on this
- 25:19earth, this wicked and perverse generation who seeks a sign, and
- 25:25no sign shall be given to it but the sign of Jonah.
- 25:30And here Jesus has already given the disciples power over the
- 25:37demonic. But the disciples, they were not
- 25:43fanning the flame. They were not spiritually
- 25:47mature. They were not spiritually
- 25:50healthy. In this moment they were too
- 25:52preoccupied trying to figure out where the three went and who was
- 25:56going to be the greatest in the Kingdom.
- 25:58And they had let their guard down, and the enemy was
- 26:00whispering lies to him, and they had let their Shields of faith
- 26:04drag the ground. Here, friends, they had not
- 26:06taken up the sword. They had not put on the helmet
- 26:09of their salvation. They had not run the race with
- 26:12the gospel shoes of peace. They were not wearing the belt
- 26:15of truth or the breastplate of righteousness, friends.
- 26:21And here you can see it. And Jesus, he's asking, How long
- 26:29shall I suffer you? 18 And Jesus rebuked the devil,
- 26:34and he departed out of him. And the child was cured from
- 26:37that very hour, from that very moment.
- 26:40And you can see this epileptic and you can see the demonic
- 26:43leaving, and you can see it, friends.
- 26:46And it was because the faith of the Father when he says Lord, he
- 26:51knew Jesus was Lord. And Jesus honored that. 19 And
- 26:58then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, why could we
- 27:01not cast him out? Now you remember they had
- 27:04already been sent out. Now you remember that they had
- 27:06already been endued with power from on high to drive out
- 27:11demons, and to heal the sick, and to cleanse lepers, And here
- 27:19they're confused, and they're wondering, Why could we not
- 27:24drive it out? 20 And Jesus said unto them,
- 27:29Because of your unbelief, truly I say unto you, if you have
- 27:34faith as a grain of mustard seed, you shall say unto this
- 27:39mountain, remove here to a Yonder place, and it shall be
- 27:43removed, and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
- 27:46So it's not about the size of your faith, it's about who your
- 27:50faith is placed in, friends. And we only need the faith the
- 27:55size of a mustard seed. We need to look upon Jesus.
- 28:00Faith is the currency that we operate out of.
- 28:03Friends and the disciples here, they had missed the mark because
- 28:08they had allowed pride to creep in.
- 28:11They had allowed the world and they had allowed the wanderings
- 28:20and the idea of being great. And they were puffed up in this
- 28:26moment. And Jesus was saying that they
- 28:29were perverse and faithless because their eyes were not on
- 28:39Him. They were put back upon
- 28:41themselves, and they thought of themselves as being more than
- 28:45they should have. It was their unbelief and all
- 28:52they needed is the faith the size of a mustard seed.
- 28:56We need to increase our faith friends, and it's faith that God
- 29:02can do anything. That is what we need to operate
- 29:06out of friends. That is the mark is we need to
- 29:10know that nothing is impossible for God.
- 29:14And it's not just tongue in cheek.
- 29:16It's not just a clever saying. We need to truly believe that
- 29:20God can do anything. We need to get our eyes off of
- 29:26the physical. We need to get our eyes off of
- 29:28the natural, and we need to sit and we need to look upon the
- 29:33face of Jesus knowing that he can do anything.
- 29:39Nothing shall be impossible unto you. 21 How be it this kind goes
- 29:45not out but by prayer and fasting?
- 29:52Some things only go out by prayer and fasting.
- 29:55You can pray the paint off the walls and not see a move of God.
- 30:02But sometimes we need to not just bow our heads and pray.
- 30:07Not just pray when we're driving down the road, but we need to
- 30:10get down on our knees and pray and be humble and have humility.
- 30:16Get down on your knees and pray and pray and pray and don't give
- 30:22up. And if you don't see the
- 30:23breakthrough, fall to your face and pray.
- 30:28Lay prostate as a dead man before God and pray.
- 30:31And if you don't see mountain move in the water part, then
- 30:37fast. Refuse to take any food.
- 30:42Do water only. And watch how your prayers get
- 30:48answered. Watch how you can drive out the
- 30:51demonic. Watch how the healing comes.
- 30:54Watch how the faith the size of a mustard seed can heal and move
- 31:01the heart of God. 22 And when and while they abode in Galilee,
- 31:09Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the
- 31:12hands of men, 23 And they shall kill him, and the third day he
- 31:18shall be raised again here again and again and again.
- 31:26He just told it to them. Likewise shall also the Son of
- 31:31Man suffer of them back in verse 12, and then here again in 22
- 31:36and 23. He's telling them.
- 31:38He's making it plain. He's going to be betrayed. 23
- 31:42they're going to kill him. And then he says that he will be
- 31:46raised again on the third day. How much more plain can Jesus
- 31:51make it unto them? And they were exceeding sorry.
- 32:01You can see here, the disciples did not yet have the
- 32:06understanding of what it all meant.
- 32:08It wasn't going to be until after Christ ascended to the
- 32:13right hand of God that everything was going to make
- 32:15sense to them. 24 And when they were come to Capernaum, they
- 32:21that received tribute money came to Peter and said, does not your
- 32:25master pay tribute? So here Peter and Jesus who were
- 32:32residents of this Capernaum, they, Jesus, Peter was
- 32:36approached by the people who collected these taxes.
- 32:42And this is interesting. This is the only gospel that
- 32:46this is recorded, and it's recorded by Matthew, a tax
- 32:53collector. How interesting is this little
- 32:57story? 25 And he said yes.
- 33:00And when he was coming to the house, Jesus prevented him,
- 33:03saying, what do you think, Simon?
- 33:06Of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute of
- 33:10their own children or of strangers?
- 33:12So here he's asking, do the kings of the earth exact taxes
- 33:17from their children? And Peter's going to answer and
- 33:22say, No 26 Peter said unto him of strangers.
- 33:27Jesus said unto him, Then are the children free?
- 33:31So he's showing that the children of the King are free,
- 33:34and that is you, and that is me. Friends, though that is those of
- 33:39us who belong to him, we're free, and we are free indeed.
- 33:44We are not bound to the tithe. We're not bound to the taxes.
- 33:54We do it so that we will not offend.
- 33:56We do it because we want to bless God's Kingdom.
- 34:00We do it because we want to send it ahead.
- 34:02We do it because we want to be obedient unto the Lord.
- 34:05We are not bound by it. And Jesus is saying who the Son
- 34:10sets free is free indeed. And look at how he knew what
- 34:15Peter was going to ask. He knew what Peter had already
- 34:18gone through before Peter even walked through the door.
- 34:22Look at how Jesus knew everything.
- 34:25He prevented him from even speaking, and He spoke 1st.
- 34:29And he asked him a question, and he made Peter think about it.
- 34:34Let's see how He ends it here. 27 Notwithstanding, unless we
- 34:40should offend them, go you to the sea and cast a hook and take
- 34:46up the fish that first comes up, and when you have opened his
- 34:51mouth, you shall find a piece of money that take and give unto
- 34:59them for me and you. Essentially Jesus is saying, go
- 35:06down, catch the first fish, reach into his mouth.
- 35:10You're going to find enough money in the mouth of the fish
- 35:13to go pay your taxes and mine. What a thought.
- 35:16Friends, look at how God can do anything.
- 35:21There's so much richness in this little story.
- 35:24We need to know that God can bring about provision in any way
- 35:29that He deems God's not limited. You cannot put God in a box.
- 35:36He is the great I am. Everything around you, the soil
- 35:40underneath your feet, the molecules that you're made-up,
- 35:44the air that you're breathing, the clouds and the trees above
- 35:48you, the birds, everything, the universe that expanses, the sky
- 35:53at night, everything the depths of the ocean was all created by
- 35:57his very breath. And if Jesus Christ wants to
- 36:02make the first fish that Peter was to catch, have enough money
- 36:07in his mouth. Nothing is impossible with God.
- 36:10And this is the faith that you and I need to have.
- 36:13Friends, I hope that you have been blessed by this amazing
- 36:22chapter here in Matthew. I know I sure have.
- 36:30I'm praying for every single one of you.
- 36:35I love you, so does God. We'll see you back here
- 36:40tomorrow. God bless you.
