- 0:53Speaker 2: Hannah McDonald. Juicy Scoop. Hello, and welcome to Juicy Scoop.
- 1:00Speaker 2: I have your favorite blue-eyed, smiley delight.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Daddy, Christopher Angiola.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Happy Father's Day. Thank you very much. What a day
- 1:10Speaker 3: it was.
- 1:11Speaker 2: What did you do, Chris?
- 1:12Speaker 3: Well, you know, my wife's dad's still alive, so they
- 1:18Speaker 3: go there. So I don't get anything. I just smile.
- 1:22Speaker 3: My wife's like, well, you're not my dad. I was like,
- 1:25Speaker 3: I guess that's true. And my daughter doesn't care. So, yeah, nothing.
- 1:29Speaker 2: It's really interesting because, you know, I saw a lot
- 1:33Speaker 2: online for Mother's Day about people educating mothers who now
- 1:41Speaker 2: have sons that are married to women.
- 1:43Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:44Speaker 2: And they have kids and that you should step back.
- 1:48Speaker 2: And not be demanding of their time or what they
- 1:50Speaker 2: want to do. You should be like to your son,
- 1:53Speaker 2: do what's right for your wife. I had the mothers.
- 1:56Speaker 2: I had the breakfast in bed and all that. Like,
- 1:58Speaker 2: it's not about me.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:01Speaker 2: But I think it's also about how the kid wants
- 2:03Speaker 2: to spend their time. Like, if you are like, I
- 2:07Speaker 2: want to do this for my dad because he'll be hurt. Yeah.
- 2:11Speaker 2: It's a hard thing to navigate. I say.
- 2:14Speaker 3: It should have been about me, right? It should have
- 2:16Speaker 3: been about me. I think it should have been.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I would, I would have done.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Okay. Okay.
- 2:20Speaker 2: If, um, I don't really remember. I had a lot
- 2:23Speaker 2: of father's day with my dad and I, Peter never
- 2:25Speaker 2: really cared. So I think we would, it would be
- 2:28Speaker 2: the summer and like, whatever. My mom would make some
- 2:31Speaker 2: food and we would do like a barbecue. We lived
- 2:32Speaker 2: next door. It was very convenient to celebrate both. Yeah.
- 2:36Speaker 2: But what I would say to somebody else that like
- 2:37Speaker 2: lives within the area, why don't you like do something
- 2:41Speaker 2: with your dad on Saturday night or ask your husband,
- 2:44Speaker 2: would you like to celebrate on Saturday or would you
- 2:47Speaker 2: like to celebrate Sunday? And what would you do now
- 2:49Speaker 2: with me? So it was Peter, right?
- 2:51Speaker 3: Right.
- 2:51Speaker 2: So we just had a great time in Cabo, which
- 2:54Speaker 2: I'll get into. But wake up that day. I'm like,
- 2:58Speaker 2: what do you want? Like, I will go to the
- 3:00Speaker 2: bagel place, get what you want, you know, and then
- 3:03Speaker 2: they wanted to play golf. And I was like, okay, well,
- 3:07Speaker 2: they have a really nice thing at the club at
- 3:09Speaker 2: 4 o'clock with lobster tail. He's like, nope, nope, don't
- 3:13Speaker 2: want to do that. Don't want to do it.
- 3:15Speaker 3: Right.
- 3:15Speaker 2: And I was like, all right, well, I guess we
- 3:18Speaker 2: can come join you and we'll just like eat at
- 3:20Speaker 2: the casual spot. Well, they closed the casual spot at
- 3:23Speaker 2: the club because they had all their people working on
- 3:26Speaker 2: the fancy 4 o'clock lobster tail.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 3:28Speaker 2: So then they went and they picked up California pita
- 3:31Speaker 2: for us on the way home and we all ate
- 3:33Speaker 2: out of styrofoam.
- 3:34Speaker 3: That's what he wanted.
- 3:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:36Speaker 2: I think that's like, who cares? I'm just like, whatever
- 3:39Speaker 2: you want.
- 3:39Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:39Speaker 3: My family left and I stayed at home with the
- 3:43Speaker 3: peace and quiet, which was the greatest gift I could
- 3:45Speaker 3: have ever gotten. But I can't say that. Of course
- 3:47Speaker 3: I can't say that.
- 3:48Speaker 2: You can also just, I think the biggest thing is
- 3:50Speaker 2: just communicate whether it's mother's day, someone's birthday.
- 3:53Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Just be like, what do you, and if your mind
- 3:56Speaker 2: changes halfway through the day and you're like, I don't
- 3:58Speaker 2: want to put on makeup and go to this dinner.
- 4:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Or I don't, you know.
- 4:02Speaker 6: Right.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Well, and also there was, I don't know if you've
- 4:04Speaker 3: noticed in your neighborhood, there's some ash in the air.
- 4:07Speaker 3: There's like ash flying around.
- 4:09Speaker 2: No, I didn't notice that. I was outside and I
- 4:11Speaker 2: thought it was a beautiful day outside.
- 4:12Speaker 3: It is a beautiful day, but there seems to be
- 4:13Speaker 3: some ash on my car and stuff.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Oh.
- 4:15Speaker 3: So I woke up in the morning on Sunday, Father's Day.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:19Speaker 3: And I saw some ash on my car. And my
- 4:21Speaker 3: wife and my daughter came with me on an investigation
- 4:24Speaker 3: around the neighborhood to see where the ash was coming from.
- 4:26Speaker 2: And where was it coming from?
- 4:27Speaker 3: Well, apparently it's coming from a fire somewhere kind of
- 4:29Speaker 3: far away.
- 4:30Speaker 2: So you have to do something fun that you're interested in.
- 4:32Speaker 3: So that was a big day for us, investigating the ash.
- 4:36Speaker 3: And that was done by 8 a.m.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Okay.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Yeah, thank you.
- 4:39Speaker 2: So Kourtney Kardashian dragged her husband. Travis Barker wearing all
- 4:43Speaker 2: black on a day that was well over 80 degrees
- 4:46Speaker 2: to Disney World.
- 4:47Speaker 3: I know.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Oh, Disney World. So they were actually in Florida, which
- 4:50Speaker 2: is probably hotter.
- 4:52Speaker 3: It says Disney World on this. Do you think they
- 4:54Speaker 3: made a mistake?
- 4:55Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm going to Disney World.
- 4:57Speaker 3: You are?
- 4:58Speaker 2: For the first time ever, I'm going to Epcot Center.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Because this weekend I have a show in Tampa and
- 5:03Speaker 2: then a show Friday in Orlando. Oh, OK. So Thursday, Tampa, Friday, Orlando.
- 5:08Speaker 2: And then a juicy scooper is going to show us
- 5:13Speaker 2: around Epcot Center. So we're doing that Saturday. I'm like,
- 5:17Speaker 2: let's just pick one world. So we picked Epcot Center.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Oh, is that like international or something?
- 5:23Speaker 1: Yes.
- 5:23Speaker 3: You can go to different countries?
- 5:24Speaker 2: But I'm going with Brandon, and I'm like, Brandon, if
- 5:25Speaker 2: it's hot as shit, if we're over it by 3 o'clock,
- 5:28Speaker 2: you've got to act like an 18-year-old man, and we've
- 5:30Speaker 2: got to cut it down, which he will. He'll be
- 5:33Speaker 2: cool about it. But I doubt– I can't imagine a
- 5:37Speaker 2: lot of dads saying, for Father's Day, I would like
- 5:40Speaker 2: to go– To an amusement park.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Well, how old is their child? It's not even old
- 5:44Speaker 3: enough to get it, right?
- 5:46Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like the baby's not even one.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Yeah, so there's no reason. There's no reason.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Maybe they went with other kids.
- 5:51Speaker 3: Is Travis Barker into rides or something?
- 5:54Speaker 2: They are into Disneyland stuff. They are like adult Disney people.
- 5:57Speaker 2: They had like an old 19... 60s-themed Disneyland baby shower.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Yeah, that's fun. That's a weird area.
- 6:06Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Adult Disney people, it's a strange area. It just is.
- 6:10Speaker 5: It is.
- 6:11Speaker 3: I know there are people who love it, but it's
- 6:13Speaker 3: a weird area. Now, is he, I know you've talked
- 6:17Speaker 3: about this on the podcast in the past, but is
- 6:19Speaker 3: he considered rodent hot?
- 6:21Speaker 2: Is he rodent? Yes, 100%. He's tattooed rodent.
- 6:24Speaker 3: But I think he's a little too old to be rodent.
- 6:26Speaker 3: He's been around a while now.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Who do you think was the original rodent?
- 6:31Speaker 2: But if you see him, like when he was a
- 6:33Speaker 2: teenager before all the tats, he was just straight up
- 6:36Speaker 2: rodent nerd.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Yeah, okay.
- 6:38Speaker 2: The tats made him, you know, and his talent made
- 6:41Speaker 2: him sexy.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Right.
- 6:42Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah.
- 6:43Speaker 3: I mean, I don't think I'm ever going to get
- 6:45Speaker 3: a break in this town because I was never good
- 6:48Speaker 3: looking enough to be like the Brad Pitt, the hot era.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Right.
- 6:51Speaker 3: You know, the era of those guys when really good
- 6:53Speaker 3: looking was it. I wasn't that good looking.
- 6:56Speaker 2: And then- You're not a character actor. Right. You're not
- 6:59Speaker 2: super hot. But I think you and I fall into-
- 7:05Speaker 2: Somewhat attractive.
- 7:06Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 7:07Speaker 2: If there was a breakdown, somewhat attractive. I could go
- 7:09Speaker 2: for that.
- 7:10Speaker 3: But you're not rodent either. Neither am I. I wouldn't
- 7:12Speaker 3: be considered a rodent, which is the hot thing now.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I should have leaned into more just being an ugly dork.
- 7:18Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:18Speaker 2: I would put on too much makeup and look too cute.
- 7:21Speaker 2: When I should have gone for Ugly Dork because the
- 7:24Speaker 2: few parts I got, I was a dork. Like when
- 7:27Speaker 2: I guest starred on Frasier, it was like he was
- 7:30Speaker 2: on a horrible date, a speed date with me being.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Like, argh.
- 7:33Speaker 2: You know what that latest R-rated movie was rated? What
- 7:36Speaker 2: the joke was? Have you heard of that new pirate movie?
- 7:40Speaker 2: And then he goes, no, I have not. And I go,
- 7:43Speaker 2: it's rated, argh. And they zoomed in on me and
- 7:46Speaker 2: kind of make me look dorky. And I'm like, I
- 7:48Speaker 2: should have just– If my parents hadn't told me that
- 7:50Speaker 2: I was so gorgeous, I should have embraced the character
- 7:53Speaker 2: dork face. You could have been right in. And I
- 7:55Speaker 2: think I could have gotten more work.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Could have been in a romantic comedy with Barry Keegan
- 7:59Speaker 3: or whatever that weird looking guy is. He's the one
- 8:02Speaker 3: who did all this. He came out of nowhere.
- 8:04Speaker 2: That's a salt porn.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Salt porn guy.
- 8:07Speaker 2: That looks like he's 40.
- 8:09Speaker 3: And then people say Adam Driver is the one who.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Adam Driver is the one. Because when it started, I
- 8:16Speaker 2: thought when it started when he was screwing I thought
- 8:21Speaker 2: he was ugly and they were equally unattractive.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Yeah. But he's a good looking guy.
- 8:28Speaker 2: I was like, no, wait, he's hot. Like he's sexy.
- 8:31Speaker 2: He's fit.
- 8:33Speaker 3: I know.
- 8:33Speaker 2: And then she just kept casting hot guys that were
- 8:36Speaker 2: in love with her, which I also love. She's the
- 8:37Speaker 2: Woody Allen of our time. She's the female Woody Allen.
- 8:40Speaker 3: Lena Dunham.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Lena Dunham. In that show, she was the female Woody
- 8:44Speaker 2: Allen that convinced us that all these guys would be
- 8:47Speaker 2: attracted to her because you keep seeing it and you're like, yeah,
- 8:51Speaker 2: that's absolutely.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Talk about rodent hot. She looks like a wombat.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Okay. Yeah.
- 8:58Speaker 2: This– OK. I want to talk about vacation because this
- 9:01Speaker 2: New York Post talked about like a TikTok or something
- 9:04Speaker 2: where this girl said, I paid all this money, thousands
- 9:07Speaker 2: of dollars to treat my parents. She was 37. She
- 9:10Speaker 2: treated– or her parents were celebrating their 36th wedding anniversary.
- 9:13Speaker 2: So she sent them to Hawaii. and on a beautiful
- 9:17Speaker 2: trip and all this stuff. And they started texting her
- 9:19Speaker 2: being like, oh my God, the food is so expensive here.
- 9:22Speaker 2: And she's like, mom, enjoy the free hotel and the
- 9:25Speaker 2: free flight. Just enjoy. And the mom wrote back like, well,
- 9:29Speaker 2: you should have looked into an Airbnb where I could
- 9:31Speaker 2: have gotten some groceries and made my own meals. And
- 9:35Speaker 2: I remember my mom saying that some, this young girl
- 9:38Speaker 2: in her real estate office had finally like sold some
- 9:40Speaker 2: houses and she took her whole family that was all
- 9:42Speaker 2: kind of fucked up and estranged on a cruise and,
- 9:46Speaker 2: And my mom went to dinner with her and she
- 9:48Speaker 2: was like, the whole family complained about the food on
- 9:50Speaker 2: the cruise, this on the cruise. And I remember that
- 9:54Speaker 2: as a young person being like, you know what? Don't expect.
- 10:00Speaker 2: people to be super grateful for shit like that, especially
- 10:02Speaker 2: your family.
- 10:03Speaker 6: No.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Vacations, because eventually they become the people that they are. Yeah.
- 10:09Speaker 3: Regardless if they're getting stuff for free, they become– Vacations
- 10:12Speaker 3: are tough for like groups of people.
- 10:15Speaker 2: We had a great, great vacation. Here we are. We
- 10:18Speaker 2: went to the Gran Veloz in Los Cabos.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Los Cabo.
- 10:23Speaker 2: I just said Cabo.
- 10:24Speaker 4: Anyway.
- 10:25Speaker 2: And the four of us went, kind of did a
- 10:27Speaker 2: birthday celebration, a Father's Day celebration, ran and graduated from
- 10:31Speaker 2: high school. Now, it was great because we're 18 and 21. Also,
- 10:34Speaker 2: it was great because it was all-inclusive.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Right.
- 10:37Speaker 2: And very, very high-end. Now, can I ask you about
- 10:40Speaker 2: all- The most delicious food ever.
- 10:41Speaker 3: All-inclusive. Is that really all-inclusive?
- 10:43Speaker 2: Yes.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Or do people like, you know, when you hear all-inclusive,
- 10:47Speaker 3: you don't have to tip, right?
- 10:48Speaker 2: You don't have to tip, and they don't sniff around
- 10:51Speaker 2: for a tip.
- 10:52Speaker 3: They don't look for a little extra on top?
- 10:55Speaker 2: We would tip at the restaurants and tip here and there.
- 10:57Speaker 2: I tipped at the spa. You have to pay for
- 10:59Speaker 2: the spa. Yeah. But it's completely up to you. They
- 11:01Speaker 2: are not expecting every time to bring a drink for
- 11:04Speaker 2: you to do that. Right. But because you do, you pay.
- 11:09Speaker 3: But they're not going to talk shit about you. Like
- 11:10Speaker 3: if this was below deck.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Yes. No, they're not going to talk shit. And what
- 11:15Speaker 2: I love about this place in particular is you actually,
- 11:20Speaker 2: on a vacation, sometimes you hear the food noise and
- 11:23Speaker 2: the money noise in your head. And every time you
- 11:25Speaker 2: go to eat, you're like, well, am I full? Wait,
- 11:28Speaker 2: we paid for the buffet. Let me like. stuff my
- 11:30Speaker 2: face like I'm a bear or whatever. And Drake went
- 11:34Speaker 2: with a family where it was, you could choose the
- 11:36Speaker 2: days of inclusive. So they did two days of inclusive
- 11:39Speaker 2: and then two not. And then the day before the,
- 11:42Speaker 2: the not started, they were just like forcing the boys
- 11:44Speaker 2: to like stuff their faces. Like, like they were bears.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Right.
- 11:47Speaker 2: And I was like, okay, now that's not a vacation.
- 11:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Like this, what I love is that I didn't overeat.
- 11:53Speaker 2: I ate really, really well. I didn't over drink because
- 11:57Speaker 2: I'm like, and if my drink was like warm or whatever,
- 11:59Speaker 2: I was like, I'll have a new one. I'm not
- 12:02Speaker 2: shoving it down my gullet.
- 12:04Speaker 3: It's more relaxing.
- 12:05Speaker 2: It's more relaxing and fun. But Drake does tend to
- 12:10Speaker 2: complain sometimes. And I told him at one point, I said,
- 12:13Speaker 2: I need you to put all your complaints in your
- 12:15Speaker 2: notes section of your phone. And once we get home
- 12:18Speaker 2: to Woodland Hills, then you can tell me if there's
- 12:20Speaker 2: anything you didn't like.
- 12:21Speaker 3: About the trip. Did you hear them when he got home?
- 12:23Speaker 2: That was enough for me to tell, and then he stopped.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Then he realized, and he wasn't complaining about a lot,
- 12:28Speaker 2: just like, Oh, this little thing. And I'm like, I
- 12:31Speaker 2: don't want to hear anything from you. Like, this is
- 12:35Speaker 2: so fun and so relaxing. Also, I never left the resort,
- 12:39Speaker 2: which is a new thing I do.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Never leave.
- 12:41Speaker 3: That's what you're supposed to do.
- 12:43Speaker 2: You don't have to. All the restaurants are beautiful. We
- 12:45Speaker 2: didn't have to go ATVing. We didn't go down a
- 12:48Speaker 2: zip line. No one got hurt.
- 12:51Speaker 3: Mine ruins or anything like that.
- 12:52Speaker 2: No one slipped and fall. No one got a cold.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Got a little sunburn, but that's it.
- 12:57Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:58Speaker 2: And yeah, we rocked it.
- 13:00Speaker 3: And you had a pony of some sort.
- 13:02Speaker 2: I have a fake pony that's changed my life.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Is that right?
- 13:04Speaker 2: Changed my life.
- 13:06Speaker 3: Who puts that in?
- 13:07Speaker 7: Me.
- 13:07Speaker 6: Oh.
- 13:08Speaker 2: All I do is I put my hair in a
- 13:10Speaker 2: bun and then it like fits over the bun. And
- 13:14Speaker 2: now I don't have to blow out my hair. I
- 13:16Speaker 2: don't have to try to make my curls work. And
- 13:20Speaker 2: it's not hot.
- 13:21Speaker 3: Is that real hair? Is it hair from?
- 13:23Speaker 2: No, I think at one time it was someone's real hair.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Okay.
- 13:26Speaker 2: I don't know who she is, but she enjoyed her
- 13:28Speaker 2: time in Mexico.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Oh, that's good to hear.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Like a heart transplant.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 13:33Speaker 2: You were like, I want to go visit my hair.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Heather McDowell's been enjoying it. And then I just have
- 13:40Speaker 2: to go, thank you for giving me the best trip
- 13:41Speaker 2: of my life. Without your hair pony, I wouldn't have
- 13:45Speaker 2: a good time.
- 13:45Speaker 3: I hope this bald gal saw the pictures.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Now, I know some people are going to be like, Heather,
- 13:50Speaker 2: you with your weird fake pony. But all these housewives
- 13:52Speaker 2: wear fake hair all the time. And I'm like, it
- 13:55Speaker 2: just doesn't.
- 13:55Speaker 3: It kind of ups your look. How did it feel?
- 13:57Speaker 2: It's comfortable. All right. I love it.
- 14:00Speaker 3: I'm not saying it looks bad.
- 14:01Speaker 2: The fake pony is coming with me to Italy, so
- 14:03Speaker 2: get ready. Oh, it is?
- 14:05Speaker 1: Yes.
- 14:05Speaker 2: I found a spot in the suitcase. The other thing
- 14:10Speaker 2: is I didn't post until I came home. And that
- 14:14Speaker 2: makes my time much better because people don't realize how
- 14:17Speaker 2: much time.
- 14:17Speaker 3: You were posting while you were there, weren't you?
- 14:18Speaker 2: Just very little like a story.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Yeah, no, that does make sense.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Not where you do the whole thing and all the
- 14:22Speaker 2: hashtags and all that.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Right.
- 14:25Speaker 2: And then you go and check on it and you
- 14:26Speaker 2: read the comments. And I'm just saying it just takes
- 14:28Speaker 2: you out of the vacation because it's part of our
- 14:30Speaker 2: business to do that. And I just want it to
- 14:32Speaker 2: be like, I just want to hang out by the
- 14:35Speaker 2: pool and like chill.
- 14:37Speaker 3: I totally agree.
- 14:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:38Speaker 2: It was really, really fun.
- 14:39Speaker 3: Put the phone away. You get something from brain rot.
- 14:41Speaker 3: They say you get. Everyone's getting brain rot from being
- 14:43Speaker 3: on the phone too much. I believe I am.
- 14:45Speaker 2: I am too.
- 14:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:46Speaker 2: So many times I'm like, put the phone away and
- 14:48Speaker 2: watch TV, loser. Now it's like, now TV is like.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Remember when that was brain rot? Now it's like, turn
- 14:54Speaker 2: off the TV and read a book. Now it's like, no,
- 14:55Speaker 2: just put away the phone and watch regular TV to
- 14:58Speaker 2: like educate yourself. But anyway, very, very good time. Okay.
- 15:03Speaker 2: But I have a bone to pick with the Catholic church. Okay.
- 15:08Speaker 2: So I found out all these comedians.
- 15:10Speaker 3: 200 internet comedians.
- 15:13Speaker 2: It was 100 comedians around the world were invited to
- 15:17Speaker 2: meet the Pope. Now, Jim Gaffigan, we know, is very Catholic.
- 15:21Speaker 5: Right.
- 15:21Speaker 2: He has a clean act. And he, at one time,
- 15:24Speaker 2: performed for the Pope when the Pope came to America
- 15:26Speaker 2: or something.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:27Speaker 2: So they have a relationship. And so I believe, you know,
- 15:31Speaker 2: he got like the Chris Rock and the... Julia Louis-Dreyfus
- 15:34Speaker 2: to come.
- 15:35Speaker 3: Jim Gaffigan. I mean, Jimmy Fallon.
- 15:36Speaker 2: But I want to ask these comedians that were invited,
- 15:41Speaker 2: have they, because I added it up with Brandon, the
- 15:45Speaker 2: amount of money that I have spent on a Catholic education,
- 15:49Speaker 2: my own included, not my sister, just mine and my kids. Right.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Where was my invite? Are you kidding me?
- 15:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:59Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Did Whoopi Goldberg send her kids to Catholic school? Did
- 16:02Speaker 2: Chris Rock? No, he did not. Now they'd say, Heather,
- 16:05Speaker 2: it's not about inviting Catholic comedians.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Right.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Heather, did you learn nothing from Catholic school? Be a
- 16:12Speaker 2: humble servant.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Right. Okay.
- 16:15Speaker 2: But then Brandon said, maybe it's because... Your viral video
- 16:20Speaker 2: where I said, I've never gotten COVID, so clearly Jesus
- 16:24Speaker 2: loves me the most. And then I fainted.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Fainted, yeah.
- 16:26Speaker 2: A lot of people thought that was wrong that I
- 16:28Speaker 2: said it.
- 16:29Speaker 6: Right.
- 16:30Speaker 2: And so far, I've had so many things prove to
- 16:32Speaker 2: me that Jesus loves me the most. And now this
- 16:34Speaker 2: was more. I was off the list. I was off
- 16:38Speaker 2: the list.
- 16:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:40Speaker 2: But listen, the church has a way of making it
- 16:43Speaker 2: up to me.
- 16:43Speaker 3: How so?
- 16:44Speaker 2: After we go to Italy in the Amalfi Coast, we
- 16:47Speaker 2: are spending our last couple days in Rome.
- 16:50Speaker 6: Oh.
- 16:50Speaker 2: In July.
- 16:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:52Speaker 2: So, like, July, like, 22 and 23. Maybe you can
- 16:56Speaker 2: get in to see him. If he wishes to see me.
- 16:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:59Speaker 2: You know, if he wishes to see me and, you know.
- 17:03Speaker 2: But the whole reason I said that is because I
- 17:04Speaker 2: believe Jesus thinks I'm a hoot. So, I love that
- 17:06Speaker 2: he thought this was about him.
- 17:08Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Acknowledging that comedians are, they might say edgy things.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Why were the comedian? What was the point of it?
- 17:15Speaker 2: I think the point was to be like, as the
- 17:18Speaker 2: Catholic church, like we don't think that you're blasphemous, horrible
- 17:21Speaker 2: people like Heather McDonald.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Right.
- 17:23Speaker 2: We think it's okay that you joke about things.
- 17:26Speaker 3: Oh, gotcha. Gotcha.
- 17:27Speaker 2: And I think Jim probably was the one that was
- 17:30Speaker 2: in charge of hiring the people. And I don't know
- 17:32Speaker 2: him personally.
- 17:33Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 17:34Speaker 2: But once again, you get left out because you were
- 17:37Speaker 2: too good looking.
- 17:38Speaker 3: And then you weren't good looking enough.
- 17:40Speaker 2: And I never get a break.
- 17:42Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Are there any other female... headlining comedians that actively talk
- 17:48Speaker 2: about the Catholic religion in a positive way as much
- 17:51Speaker 2: as I have in my books, in my stand-up, on
- 17:54Speaker 2: my podcast. No, there is not. So yeah, am I
- 17:56Speaker 2: a little bit pissed today?
- 17:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I am.
- 17:58Speaker 3: But then you would have had to leave your great
- 18:01Speaker 3: vacation in Cabo to go to this.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Right. Well, sometimes you just want the invite. I would
- 18:06Speaker 2: have worked it out. I'm sure this was six months
- 18:08Speaker 2: in advance of knowing, and I could have gone another
- 18:10Speaker 2: week to Cabo. This wasn't a last-minute hop on the
- 18:13Speaker 2: the plane to Rome.
- 18:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
- 18:16Speaker 3: How long do you think they had to explain to
- 18:18Speaker 3: the Pope who these people were who were coming up
- 18:21Speaker 3: to see him? You know, I don't think he knows
- 18:22Speaker 3: who Jimmy Fallon is. Do you think?
- 18:25Speaker 1: Yes.
- 18:26Speaker 2: I think he probably had just like anything else. Like
- 18:28Speaker 2: that scene in The Devil Wears Prada where someone's just
- 18:31Speaker 2: whispering and this is, you know, Meryl Streep is like
- 18:34Speaker 2: shaking the hands to like, no, I don't think they
- 18:36Speaker 2: care or anything. And I, of course, you know, so.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Just once again, I can't get a break.
- 18:43Speaker 3: I can't even get.
- 18:44Speaker 2: The respect for my own church. The car is beautiful.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Where did you end up going for it? This exclusive
- 18:50Speaker 2: place that Dad has connections with. They have more cars
- 18:52Speaker 2: for more dealerships than like anywhere else. You have to
- 18:55Speaker 2: put me in touch. What's it called? It's Dunaidial.
- 18:59Speaker 5: Where?
- 19:00Speaker 2: Dunaidial. There's an accent on the E. Do you mean... Yes,
- 19:05Speaker 2: I got it on Dundale Cars.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Lift?
- 19:07Speaker 3: Please.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Are you going past Kimmage? Oh, Kimmage.
- 19:11Speaker 1: No.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Done deal, cars.
- 19:13Speaker 4: You couldn't possibly go anywhere else.
- 19:15Speaker 5: I'm Darman, and this is What Happens Next. Each week
- 19:19Speaker 5: on the show, I sit down with extraordinary people who
- 19:22Speaker 5: have faced tremendous setbacks, and yet somehow have found a
- 19:26Speaker 5: way to turn them into their greatest strengths.
- 19:29Speaker 6: Life is one long lesson of chaos. I'm heading to
- 19:32Speaker 6: the Emmys, and I have police complaints filed against me.
- 19:35Speaker 6: When your free will was about to be taken from you,
- 19:38Speaker 6: what would you do if it was given back?
- 19:40Speaker 7: Where did that need come from where you thought that
- 19:43Speaker 7: you had to succeed in order to feel loved?
- 19:45Speaker 3: He said, I have a work dad.
- 19:46Speaker 5: I need a home dad.
- 19:47Speaker 7: What happens next?
- 19:49Speaker 3: When I came in, he started crying.
- 19:50Speaker 7: Everybody in life encounters hardships what defines them is not
- 19:55Speaker 7: those hard moments that they go through it's about what
- 19:57Speaker 7: happens next i decided to risk it all i realized
- 20:00Speaker 7: how valuable every day was you're worth the work Listen.
- 20:03Speaker 3: Dara, I'm not going to pull punches.
- 20:05Speaker 2: You can use your voice even if it's shaped.
- 20:07Speaker 5: The stories are different, but the impact is the same.
- 20:11Speaker 5: Only one question matters. What happens next?
- 20:21Speaker 3: I did a lot of workouts for Catholic priests. And
- 20:24Speaker 3: I don't know why I wasn't invited because I used
- 20:27Speaker 3: to work out.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Because they want to see your muscle definition, right?
- 20:31Speaker 3: Well, they told us that we needed to practice more
- 20:35Speaker 3: physical fitness as young boys. So me and my friends
- 20:39Speaker 3: would go down every Saturday and lift weights for the
- 20:41Speaker 3: priests at St. Joseph's Church in Ronkonkoma. And then at
- 20:45Speaker 3: the end, he would do a contest to see who
- 20:47Speaker 3: had the best calves. And Kevin Flanagan won every time.
- 20:53Speaker 3: And honestly, to be honest, Kevin Flanagan, calves not that great.
- 20:56Speaker 3: Neither are mine, but I'm saying that I should have
- 20:58Speaker 3: won at least once. That's all. Nothing went beyond that.
- 21:03Speaker 3: I want you to know it was just working out,
- 21:05Speaker 3: physical fitness. Anyway, we worked out.
- 21:09Speaker 2: He didn't even have weights.
- 21:10Speaker 3: We just lifted heavy pieces of wood.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Well, my dad's cousin, first cousin, was a priest from Ireland.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 21:19Speaker 2: And we had some nuns in our family. And even
- 21:21Speaker 2: then this didn't get me.
- 21:22Speaker 3: We had two. I have two uncles who are priests.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Listen, we can make up for it. And I saw
- 21:27Speaker 2: the other priest when he came to L.A. in the 80s.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Went on a bus trip with a bunch of Catholic
- 21:32Speaker 2: girls and went to Dodger Stadium and watched the Popemobile
- 21:35Speaker 2: go by.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Pope John Paul was that?
- 21:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 21:39Speaker 3: I'm sorry that you didn't get invited.
- 21:42Speaker 2: I mean, just sometimes I'm just like, I feel like
- 21:45Speaker 2: the Roger David. Rodney Dangerfield. I get no respect.
- 21:49Speaker 3: No respect at all.
- 21:49Speaker 2: We just don't. We don't.
- 21:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 21:51Speaker 2: We still have a good life.
- 21:52Speaker 3: But there's like a different, you know.
- 21:53Speaker 2: I know. Obviously, there are huge, huge, huge stars.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Julie Louis-Dreyfus is Julie Louis-Dreyfus.
- 21:58Speaker 6: Yes.
- 21:58Speaker 2: And like I said, I don't know Jim Gaffigan. Right. So,
- 22:01Speaker 2: I mean, if we were friends, if I would have
- 22:04Speaker 2: reached out and made friends with his wife 10 years ago,
- 22:07Speaker 2: maybe I could have somehow weaseled in on this trip.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Now, the Pope has been in trouble lately for he's
- 22:11Speaker 3: saying a word that they're saying that there's– I believe
- 22:13Speaker 3: he's from Argentina– And they're saying that he's saying he's
- 22:17Speaker 3: using a slang term for gay. He's using the F
- 22:22Speaker 3: word in his speeches. Oh, the translation. They're saying there's
- 22:28Speaker 3: something lost in translation. He doesn't mean to be derogatory. Oh, okay.
- 22:33Speaker 3: But I believe the word he's using is, I'm just
- 22:36Speaker 3: going to say it, it's called faggotry.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Oh.
- 22:39Speaker 3: And I believe. And he's used it twice now, and
- 22:42Speaker 3: I've told him, you can't use that word. But he
- 22:44Speaker 3: used it again last week. So I wonder if that's
- 22:46Speaker 3: something that comedians could joke about, or that's off limits,
- 22:50Speaker 3: that he's saying faggotry about the Catholic Church.
- 22:54Speaker 2: Well, now I just got disinvited. There was a juicy
- 22:57Speaker 2: scooper working at the Vatican that was listening to me, laughing,
- 23:02Speaker 2: writing my name down, starting an email to get me
- 23:04Speaker 2: to be able to be invited. And now it just
- 23:07Speaker 2: got X'd. thanks to you but it's.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Fine no i i'm just saying he said i'm just
- 23:12Speaker 3: reporting the news like all these guys jimmy fallon doing
- 23:18Speaker 3: his his pope oh and.
- 23:20Speaker 2: I had like a viral well maybe it wasn't viral
- 23:22Speaker 2: but it was a few hundred things of me actually
- 23:26Speaker 2: i actually do bits in church like i actually showed
- 23:31Speaker 2: brandon doing a speech about me.
- 23:33Speaker 3: During a mass that was at a church Yeah.
- 23:36Speaker 1: All right.
- 23:36Speaker 2: I mean, it was in an auditorium, but it was
- 23:38Speaker 2: a mass.
- 23:39Speaker 3: Well, maybe it's going to be like Netflix is a
- 23:41Speaker 3: joke festival. They'll do it next year, too. You know,
- 23:45Speaker 3: maybe they'll roast Pope. I did.
- 23:47Speaker 2: I did tag. I did go on here and I said,
- 23:50Speaker 2: where is at Heather McDonald? She's she's a good female
- 23:55Speaker 2: Catholic comedian. Well, maybe he'll say, can you let me
- 23:57Speaker 2: know today's show? And we'll see the six people will
- 24:00Speaker 2: like it. And two people will be like, yeah. Yeah. Heather,
- 24:04Speaker 2: we don't care about you. Okay, this was kind of interesting.
- 24:07Speaker 2: So on Wednesday, the Texas Rangers in Texas, they arrested
- 24:14Speaker 2: this guy, Patel, for online impersonation in the third degree.
- 24:18Speaker 2: I'm going to explain it to you guys. Just let
- 24:19Speaker 2: me explain it.
- 24:19Speaker 7: Okay.
- 24:20Speaker 2: This, from what I understand, this guy was running against,
- 24:25Speaker 2: he's a Democrat, he's running against a Republican in Texas
- 24:28Speaker 2: for a thing. Okay. And then he went on and said,
- 24:32Speaker 2: oh my God, I'm getting so much hate. from all
- 24:36Speaker 2: these people that are clearly fans of the Republican, who
- 24:41Speaker 2: are calling me, because he's not white, racist things and
- 24:44Speaker 2: all that. Like, clearly my opponent, the Republican, is just
- 24:48Speaker 2: like a Donald Trump with his horrible minions who are
- 24:51Speaker 2: coming after me. Well, the opponent noticed that one of these,
- 24:57Speaker 2: this collab that he did of all the hate was
- 25:02Speaker 2: a handle of someone that went after him.
- 25:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:06Speaker 2: So they did an investigation and it was it was him.
- 25:09Speaker 3: Oh, he was right.
- 25:09Speaker 5: He was.
- 25:10Speaker 2: He had all these accounts. They all came from his
- 25:12Speaker 2: computer and he was writing all the racist hate about
- 25:17Speaker 2: himself to him to appear like a victim. Like it's
- 25:20Speaker 2: a it's like a Jussie Smollett light.
- 25:23Speaker 6: Oh, OK.
- 25:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:24Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 25:24Speaker 3: What was in the hopes that people would feel sorry
- 25:26Speaker 3: for him and vote for him?
- 25:27Speaker 2: Yes. And for the hopes that people would be so
- 25:29Speaker 2: turned off by the opponent. Yeah. Like we don't want
- 25:31Speaker 2: to be associated with any type of his fans.
- 25:34Speaker 3: Right.
- 25:35Speaker 2: And, you know, I mean, I want to say as
- 25:38Speaker 2: someone who's been a victim of this, it's time we
- 25:41Speaker 2: normalize not to pay any attention to online comments and
- 25:47Speaker 2: troll accounts. They're not real threats. No one is coming
- 25:51Speaker 2: to kill you and stop using it to victimize yourself
- 25:55Speaker 2: to be like, oh, my God, look how horrible. And
- 25:58Speaker 2: then and don't you fall for it as the people
- 26:00Speaker 2: that see it like. ignore it. Unless somebody's really coming
- 26:05Speaker 2: to your house and there's stuff in the mail, let's
- 26:09Speaker 2: not bother the police with this shit. And just delete
- 26:13Speaker 2: and block and move the fuck along. Because it's too
- 26:16Speaker 2: hard to figure out where it's really coming from. So
- 26:18Speaker 2: you shouldn't accuse your enemy of them doing it because
- 26:22Speaker 2: it might be yourself. It might be coming from within
- 26:26Speaker 2: the house to get stories or to get sympathy.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 26:30Speaker 2: And I truly believe that with a lot of things.
- 26:32Speaker 2: So like, anyway, now they got arrested because it's a crime.
- 26:36Speaker 3: It's a crime to what?
- 26:37Speaker 2: Impersonate someone else.
- 26:39Speaker 3: Online?
- 26:39Speaker 2: Online. At least in Texas it is. It said, yeah,
- 26:45Speaker 2: so they realized that he painted himself and his family
- 26:48Speaker 2: as victims of a vicious race-based smear campaign perpetrated by
- 26:52Speaker 2: his opponent's supporters. That's what he did. So we'll probably
- 26:56Speaker 2: see more of this type of stuff as we get
- 26:58Speaker 2: into the election. And it's like, just find your own facts.
- 27:01Speaker 3: I don't think so. I think this election is going
- 27:02Speaker 3: to be perfectly civil.
- 27:05Speaker 2: There's a show on Netflix called Antisocial, a documentary, that's
- 27:09Speaker 2: all about the trolls that created a lot of mayhem.
- 27:13Speaker 3: Right.
- 27:13Speaker 2: And in the end, the guy's like, we're still just
- 27:15Speaker 2: all alone in a basement with six screens. Like they
- 27:20Speaker 2: cause all the mayhem and they watch it and they
- 27:22Speaker 2: have fun. But then in the end, they're in the
- 27:25Speaker 2: same place they were two years ago, alone in a basement.
- 27:28Speaker 2: They're like Marthas from the Reindeer Show.
- 27:32Speaker 3: That's where I was on Father's Day, alone in a basement,
- 27:34Speaker 3: more or less. I wasn't sending out hate.
- 27:37Speaker 1: No.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Justin Bieber is parting ways with his business manager, Lou Taylor. Now, remember,
- 27:42Speaker 2: this is a woman.
- 27:43Speaker 3: Okay.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Short for Louise. She is the one... that was Britney
- 27:49Speaker 2: Spears' business manager and all that stuff. So he announced
- 27:52Speaker 2: he's going away from her, he's choosing Johnny Depp's financial advisor.
- 27:57Speaker 2: But then, that was last night, and then today, Scooter Braun,
- 28:02Speaker 2: who also used to manage Justin, he has retired from
- 28:05Speaker 2: music management. After 23 years, he's divorced, and his reason was,
- 28:10Speaker 2: I have three stars in my life that need more attention,
- 28:13Speaker 2: and those are his three kids.
- 28:16Speaker 3: And, you know.
- 28:17Speaker 2: But I don't know. I think it's all very suspicious.
- 28:20Speaker 3: How so?
- 28:21Speaker 2: I don't know. Just from like the stuff with the P.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Diddy and everything. Right. Lou Taylor and Britney Spears and
- 28:28Speaker 2: all of this stuff that's just like kind of coming
- 28:30Speaker 2: out that isn't up to par. I think he's probably like,
- 28:34Speaker 2: maybe it's time I bow out. Now, remember, he got
- 28:36Speaker 2: a lot of hate from the Swifties.
- 28:38Speaker 3: Taylor Swift, yeah.
- 28:39Speaker 2: Because he bought the catalog.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Right.
- 28:43Speaker 2: But then there was a discussion that like he did
- 28:45Speaker 2: nothing wrong, was up for sale and he bought it.
- 28:47Speaker 3: That's what he said. Yeah.
- 28:49Speaker 2: And it was her other music management company that kind
- 28:52Speaker 2: of did it from underneath her and her dad had
- 28:54Speaker 2: signed off on it and all this other stuff. So
- 28:57Speaker 2: maybe he's just rich enough and he's just like, but where,
- 29:00Speaker 2: I want to know where the fuck does the name
- 29:02Speaker 2: Scooter come from? Is that a real name? Was he
- 29:05Speaker 2: born as Scooter?
- 29:07Speaker 3: Probably not. So it's a nickname, you know?
- 29:10Speaker 2: Well then like as a man that's like entering like
- 29:12Speaker 2: late forties, do you just like say, just call me Scott?
- 29:15Speaker 3: Well, maybe now that he's retired, you know, You can
- 29:17Speaker 3: go back to his real name, which is Moped Braun. Strange. No,
- 29:22Speaker 3: just kidding. Come on, everybody. Let's have some fun. Yeah.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Still looking young, though. Yeah.
- 29:31Speaker 3: We used to know him a little bit. Remember, he
- 29:33Speaker 3: was always kind of in our world back in the
- 29:35Speaker 3: Chelsea Lately days.
- 29:36Speaker 2: Well, I just feel like we talked about him a lot.
- 29:38Speaker 3: But he was like the manager of several people we
- 29:41Speaker 3: had as guests quite a bit. Not just Justin Bieber,
- 29:43Speaker 3: several other people. And yeah, he was always hanging around
- 29:47Speaker 3: our offices in the early days.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Way back. But I don't know. They're It'll be interesting
- 29:53Speaker 2: to kind of see what goes on. And I'm not
- 29:56Speaker 2: accusing him of anything bad. But remember, right before the P.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Diddy thing all got exposed, he all of a sudden goes, oh,
- 30:04Speaker 2: I'm giving all the publishing rights back to all of
- 30:06Speaker 2: my artists. P.
- 30:07Speaker 3: Diddy said that.
- 30:08Speaker 2: Yeah, just as a good aside to my heart. Just
- 30:10Speaker 2: you guys.
- 30:10Speaker 3: But how is Scooter Braun affiliated with P. Diddy? Did
- 30:14Speaker 3: he manage him?
- 30:15Speaker 2: I'm just saying. It just is an interesting time for
- 30:18Speaker 2: this stuff to come out where everybody's where maybe he's
- 30:21Speaker 2: just like, I'm out. I just don't want to be
- 30:22Speaker 2: part of the music industry.
- 30:23Speaker 4: It's icky.
- 30:24Speaker 2: It's gross.
- 30:25Speaker 6: Right.
- 30:25Speaker 2: And maybe it really is just pure things. I have
- 30:27Speaker 2: plenty of money and I want to hang out with
- 30:28Speaker 2: my kids. I'm divorced. I don't want to screw up
- 30:31Speaker 2: these relationships.
- 30:32Speaker 3: Hopefully that could be.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Hopefully that's it. But I'm just like when P Diddy
- 30:35Speaker 2: did that, I was like, I don't believe P Diddy
- 30:37Speaker 2: is doing this out of the goodness of his heart.
- 30:38Speaker 2: I think he's doing this to like go. some shit's
- 30:41Speaker 2: going down and I hope you guys don't come after me.
- 30:42Speaker 2: So here's your publishing rights. And literally a month later,
- 30:45Speaker 2: all this shit went down.
- 30:46Speaker 3: Where does P Diddy go from here? I mean, it's over.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Give back the key.
- 30:50Speaker 3: To what city?
- 30:51Speaker 2: To the city of New York. Oh, that guy, that
- 30:53Speaker 2: guy asked for it back. Eric Adams.
- 30:55Speaker 3: Eric Adams.
- 30:56Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 30:57Speaker 3: And he's like, it doesn't really open anything, right? Like
- 31:00Speaker 3: you can't open a Sbarro at 2am in Times Square.
- 31:04Speaker 2: You know, I'm, What if it did? What if it
- 31:07Speaker 2: was like a master key that just opened at every restaurant?
- 31:10Speaker 3: Hey, you guys want to go to Bubba Gump? I
- 31:13Speaker 3: have the key.
- 31:14Speaker 2: What?
- 31:14Speaker 3: Yes. Yeah, I don't think it... So he had to
- 31:18Speaker 3: give it back. Oh, that's too bad.
- 31:20Speaker 2: You know, in light of the horrible Cassie video.
- 31:23Speaker 3: It's a terrible video, and that's pretty much the end
- 31:25Speaker 3: of his career. But when did he put on the socks?
- 31:30Speaker 3: Or the towel. I feel like it was in the hallway,
- 31:33Speaker 3: in the video, he's wearing socks and a towel, which
- 31:35Speaker 3: means he either was wearing, he was completely nude with
- 31:39Speaker 3: socks on.
- 31:40Speaker 2: He put on his socks first.
- 31:41Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying. That's a strange look.
- 31:43Speaker 2: Did he get out of the shower?
- 31:44Speaker 5: Right.
- 31:45Speaker 2: You're right. Who puts on socks before you put on
- 31:47Speaker 2: underwear and a shirt? Socks are the last.
- 31:49Speaker 3: Thing before the shoes.
- 31:51Speaker 2: That is interesting.
- 31:52Speaker 3: The socks and the towel were a weird choice. for
- 31:56Speaker 3: the hallway.
- 31:57Speaker 2: And I'm also like, you're so, you know, determined to
- 32:01Speaker 2: go get her in the hallway and bring her back.
- 32:05Speaker 2: But you care about covering your own self. Like you're
- 32:07Speaker 2: doing something, but you're like, I'm surprised you didn't walk
- 32:10Speaker 2: out just butt naked in a rush.
- 32:12Speaker 3: I know. Anyway, I was just weirded out by the
- 32:14Speaker 3: socks and the tag.
- 32:15Speaker 2: I mean, that's horrible. Okay.
- 32:16Speaker 3: And also his glasses have been taken. I go to
- 32:19Speaker 3: America's Best Optometry and.
- 32:22Speaker 2: I- Oh, he has glass.
- 32:23Speaker 3: He has a glass like- The Sean John collection.
- 32:25Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 32:25Speaker 2: He had so many clothes.
- 32:26Speaker 5: A lot.
- 32:26Speaker 2: One of the Sean John sweatshirts and stuff.
- 32:28Speaker 3: Yes, a lot of clothes. He's got a ton. Go
- 32:30Speaker 3: over to any Marshalls. There's a bunch of Sean John sweatsuits.
- 32:33Speaker 3: But anyway, I would get his glasses at America's Best.
- 32:37Speaker 3: Now I got to go over to the Randy Jackson collection.
- 32:40Speaker 3: He's really done. He has pretty nice- I have several pairs.
- 32:43Speaker 3: Randy Jackson. I don't think he's in any trouble, is he?
- 32:46Speaker 2: No, and I just met him, not just, but a
- 32:49Speaker 2: year and a half ago when I did the Name
- 32:51Speaker 2: That Tune.
- 32:52Speaker 3: Oh, Randy Jackson's on that?
- 32:53Speaker 2: In Ireland, he was on it. Oh, okay. And I
- 32:55Speaker 2: had this yellow blazer on that was Veronica Beard. And
- 33:00Speaker 2: he was like, where did you get that blazer? I
- 33:02Speaker 2: want that for myself. And I was like... Whoa.
- 33:05Speaker 3: Well, I mean.
- 33:06Speaker 2: It was a very... It was a female blazer.
- 33:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:09Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 33:10Speaker 3: He can... these, these days, you know, enjoy it.
- 33:13Speaker 2: You're right.
- 33:14Speaker 3: You're right.
- 33:14Speaker 2: You're right. Okay. So Legos, the crime is just getting
- 33:20Speaker 2: worse and worse.
- 33:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:21Speaker 2: First of all, yesterday I saw a video of this
- 33:25Speaker 2: horrific jewelry robbery. Yeah. The surveillance camera, but somewhere in California.
- 33:31Speaker 2: It was beyond a smash. It was like 25 people
- 33:34Speaker 2: bursting into a big jewelry store, crashing every single one
- 33:38Speaker 2: and taking it all. And, um, And I think I
- 33:42Speaker 2: said this to you once before, but it's like, I
- 33:44Speaker 2: wonder if like old, like sophisticated, like Ocean's Eleven type
- 33:49Speaker 2: of thieves are like sitting in prison, like watching these
- 33:53Speaker 2: smash and grabs and being like, why didn't we all
- 33:55Speaker 2: just put on masks and get together?
- 33:57Speaker 3: And just run out.
- 33:57Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 33:58Speaker 2: Why did we have to do these elaborate things when
- 34:01Speaker 2: we could have just all, like they must be jealous
- 34:04Speaker 2: that these guys could just text each other and be like,
- 34:06Speaker 2: meet at Kay Jewelers, you know, at four.
- 34:09Speaker 6: Right.
- 34:10Speaker 2: And, you know, wear your sweatshirt and then put it
- 34:12Speaker 2: over your head and put on your mask. And like,
- 34:15Speaker 2: we all just go together.
- 34:17Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean, it's crazy.
- 34:19Speaker 2: And then whatever you can take, you take for yourselves.
- 34:21Speaker 2: But in the group, then how are they ever going
- 34:23Speaker 2: to know who it is?
- 34:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:26Speaker 2: But now it's happening with Legos.
- 34:29Speaker 3: Smashing and grabbing Legos? Well, they're... Or stealing them from.
- 34:32Speaker 2: It's a little more elaborate from the stores, Walmart and whatnot.
- 34:36Speaker 2: But those will be the next things, just like your
- 34:38Speaker 2: skin cream.
- 34:39Speaker 3: They have the alarm on them. They have the alarm
- 34:42Speaker 3: on them at Target. Because some of them are like $ 700.
- 34:45Speaker 3: You get the Millennium Falcon or whatever.
- 34:48Speaker 2: Well, they've always been really expensive. And as much as
- 34:51Speaker 2: a mom that stepped on Legos and had all the
- 34:54Speaker 2: Lego things, you always want you always think that your
- 34:58Speaker 2: kid is gonna play with the ones that are left
- 35:01Speaker 2: over and make their own thing, but they don't. So
- 35:04Speaker 2: you buy this big thing that has always been expensive.
- 35:07Speaker 3: And if you lose any pieces of it, it's screwed, right?
- 35:09Speaker 2: Well, you usually don't. You really kinda follow the thing,
- 35:12Speaker 2: and now you've made it. And then after that, it's done.
- 35:15Speaker 2: It's literally the most expensive toy That is like a
- 35:20Speaker 2: two hour use. That's it. Then you put it on
- 35:23Speaker 2: your thing. You don't really like play with the thing. No,
- 35:26Speaker 2: you just, it's about building it. Yeah. And then they
- 35:30Speaker 2: never made anything out of the extras. Right. So, but
- 35:35Speaker 2: for boys that, that would be something I'd be like,
- 35:37Speaker 2: It'll keep them busy for a few hours on Christmas,
- 35:40Speaker 2: but they're always so expensive.
- 35:42Speaker 3: So now they're stealing them and you can get them
- 35:43Speaker 3: on the black market.
- 35:44Speaker 2: Like eBay and swap meets and stuff like that.
- 35:48Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:48Speaker 3: Okay.
- 35:49Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:51Speaker 3: Yo, yo, yo, yo. I got these Mickey Mouse.
- 35:55Speaker 2: What?
- 35:55Speaker 3: Lego Mickey Mouse.
- 35:56Speaker 2: Oh, okay. You want the Star Wars? Yeah. Those are
- 36:02Speaker 2: the good ones.
- 36:03Speaker 3: Ford Mustang.
- 36:04Speaker 2: I kind of remember the day that it was like
- 36:06Speaker 2: the last... christmas that i was like do you want
- 36:09Speaker 2: any like special legos and they you know and each
- 36:12Speaker 2: kid was like no and we.
- 36:13Speaker 3: Haven't gone down that road yet my daughter's not not
- 36:16Speaker 3: lego at all it's thankfully.
- 36:18Speaker 2: They try to make it for girls and do like
- 36:20Speaker 2: barbies and stuff but the in the following the instructions
- 36:23Speaker 2: is just so much more in a general sense more
- 36:27Speaker 2: of a dude's brain right than a girl's and it's
- 36:29Speaker 2: just like girls have more of an imagination and the
- 36:32Speaker 2: boys like want to like follow the thing and put
- 36:35Speaker 2: it together like a mechanic. That's why they're a great gift,
- 36:38Speaker 2: but that's the deal. Okay, this is a weird pairing.
- 36:41Speaker 2: This is from Closer Weekly.
- 36:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I read this yesterday.
- 36:45Speaker 2: John Travolta and Kristen Davis, Charlotte from And Just Like
- 36:49Speaker 2: That and Sex and the City, really like each other,
- 36:52Speaker 2: and they're not the only ones. Our insider revealed that
- 36:55Speaker 2: his kids have gave their blessing, too.
- 36:59Speaker 3: Wow.
- 37:00Speaker 2: Now, here's the thing.
- 37:01Speaker 3: She's divorced or something?
- 37:04Speaker 2: I want to say that she adopted kids on her own.
- 37:07Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 37:08Speaker 2: Something like that.
- 37:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:11Speaker 2: So age appropriate, I think he's like, what, early 60s
- 37:15Speaker 2: and she's like mid-50s or something?
- 37:16Speaker 3: Oh, he's got to be early 70s. He's in the
- 37:19Speaker 3: more than early 60s.
- 37:21Speaker 2: All right. Well, whatever. Thank God. I mean, he shaved
- 37:23Speaker 2: his head. He got cuter.
- 37:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:25Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 37:26Speaker 3: The wigs are gone.
- 37:27Speaker 2: The wigs are gone. He's a widow.
- 37:32Speaker 3: Now... Is she Scientology? I think she is, isn't she?
- 37:37Speaker 2: No, I don't think she was ever Scientology.
- 37:39Speaker 3: Maybe not.
- 37:40Speaker 2: I think at this point, he's probably like, I am
- 37:42Speaker 2: not going to just hold it to... Here's the thing, though.
- 37:46Speaker 2: There were so many rumors back in the day of
- 37:50Speaker 2: him liking men sexually. And the.
- 37:56Speaker 2: The evidence, which I don't know that, you know, it
- 37:58Speaker 2: was true, was him kissing his pilot. There was a
- 38:02Speaker 2: photo of them kissing.
- 38:03Speaker 3: Right.
- 38:04Speaker 2: And then people said, no, it could have just been like,
- 38:06Speaker 2: you know, not full kissing, maybe da-da-da. People always justify that.
- 38:11Speaker 3: A European thing.
- 38:11Speaker 2: A European thing.
- 38:12Speaker 5: Sure.
- 38:13Speaker 2: Then there was the guy that there was a whole, like,
- 38:17Speaker 2: tabloid story.
- 38:19Speaker 3: Of a guy allegedly.
- 38:21Speaker 2: Saying that he wanted massages and asked men, da-da-da-da. And
- 38:26Speaker 2: then the whole thing of Scientology being like, did he
- 38:30Speaker 2: struggle with his sexuality? And Scientology had the secrets for
- 38:35Speaker 2: when they take those two cans and be audited. And
- 38:39Speaker 2: that is why he's so loyal to Scientology. But now
- 38:42Speaker 2: if he's pursuing a romantic relationship with a woman well
- 38:46Speaker 2: into his 60s, it makes me wonder, A, maybe he's bi,
- 38:50Speaker 2: who cares?
- 38:51Speaker 6: Right.
- 38:52Speaker 2: And, but like what, you know, maybe none of this
- 38:56Speaker 2: was true.
- 38:57Speaker 3: None of it. Well, yeah. I mean, who knows? It
- 38:59Speaker 3: was always just a rumor.
- 39:01Speaker 2: Right.
- 39:01Speaker 6: I mean. Right.
- 39:02Speaker 2: It was just one massage guy's story or a few
- 39:05Speaker 2: of them saying it.
- 39:05Speaker 3: I was quite a few, you know. I heard, I mean,
- 39:07Speaker 3: I had friends who were, you know.
- 39:09Speaker 2: Propositioned by him?
- 39:10Speaker 3: Not propositioned, but my friends worked at like fancy hotels
- 39:15Speaker 3: and you would room service, you'd go up to room
- 39:17Speaker 3: service and the robe would be open. That's what I've heard.
- 39:20Speaker 3: You know, but it was no proposition. Just like maybe
- 39:24Speaker 3: if this is something you're interested in.
- 39:25Speaker 2: I feel like now, like even if I order room service,
- 39:28Speaker 2: like I shouldn't even. I feel like. any time you're
- 39:30Speaker 2: in a hotel robe, it's like could get you in
- 39:33Speaker 2: trouble now.
- 39:33Speaker 3: Right. That's what I'm saying. Like I put on.
- 39:36Speaker 2: A hotel robe. I've come out like in the towel
- 39:38Speaker 2: and been like, oh, you just leave it there.
- 39:40Speaker 3: Especially when they come in.
- 39:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:43Speaker 3: You know, it's a weird. They should just leave it
- 39:45Speaker 3: outside and go, OK, it's a different time we live in,
- 39:49Speaker 3: you know.
- 39:50Speaker 2: Um, I don't, so, okay. Taking all those rumors apart away.
- 39:55Speaker 3: Okay.
- 39:56Speaker 2: I don't know. This could be kind of great if
- 39:58Speaker 2: it's true and they really like each other because like
- 40:00Speaker 2: I said, I don't think she ever got married. I
- 40:04Speaker 2: want to say she has like one or two adopted children. Yeah.
- 40:07Speaker 2: like from Africa or something, because she was really into
- 40:11Speaker 2: elephants as a charity. Oh.
- 40:15Speaker 3: Well, that's a good... I don't know why that sounded so.
- 40:18Speaker 2: Funny when I delivered it. But no, like I followed
- 40:21Speaker 2: her and it was a lot about like elephant stuff.
- 40:23Speaker 2: Have you seen that video about the one elephant that
- 40:25Speaker 2: can paint and then all the other elephants are like
- 40:27Speaker 2: dicks to it and like push it in the water
- 40:30Speaker 2: and stuff?
- 40:31Speaker 3: Well, you know.
- 40:32Speaker 2: Yeah, like because one has like really.
- 40:33Speaker 3: One's got talent.
- 40:34Speaker 2: One's got total talent and they're just like, oh, you
- 40:36Speaker 2: think you're all that? And then it's like paints being flown.
- 40:39Speaker 3: I heard that elephant's meeting the Pope next week. I know.
- 40:46Speaker 2: I mean, Jesus. Heather, be a humble servant. Also, Heather,
- 40:49Speaker 2: you don't have to be invited to everything. Okay, shut up, girl.
- 40:52Speaker 5: Yes.
- 40:53Speaker 3: I mean, why wouldn't you like this? I mean, everyone
- 40:55Speaker 3: kind of likes John Travolta. I feel like he's one
- 40:57Speaker 3: of those guys that everyone kind of likes. You know
- 41:00Speaker 3: what I mean?
- 41:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:00Speaker 3: Nobody has a bad thing to say about him, really.
- 41:03Speaker 2: No, everyone says he was always just like a totally
- 41:05Speaker 2: nice delight.
- 41:06Speaker 3: People love him on sets of movies and stuff. They
- 41:08Speaker 3: say he's great to work with and very nice, flies
- 41:11Speaker 3: planes and like a charitable guy, I think.
- 41:15Speaker 2: No, I feel like he's one of those that the
- 41:19Speaker 2: only movies he's done in the last like 15 years
- 41:22Speaker 2: or 10 years have been like the Randall Emmett films
- 41:25Speaker 2: that are like all the old stars or maybe– know
- 41:29Speaker 2: what he's done lately.
- 41:30Speaker 3: You ever look in a red box? There's nothing sadder
- 41:34Speaker 3: than a red box in front of a 7-Eleven.
- 41:36Speaker 2: Do they still exist?
- 41:37Speaker 3: In some neighborhoods in front of a 7-Eleven, you know.
- 41:40Speaker 3: And then you look in there and there's movies you're like,
- 41:42Speaker 3: wait a minute. John Travolta's made seven movies that I've
- 41:46Speaker 3: never even heard of and they're in red box, you know.
- 41:49Speaker 2: He kind of had an interesting... romantic history. When he
- 41:54Speaker 2: was boy in the plastic bubble, he fell in love
- 41:58Speaker 2: and had a full-on relationship with the woman who played
- 42:00Speaker 2: his mother.
- 42:01Speaker 3: Is that, yeah. I think, yeah, right. Betty Broderick?
- 42:07Speaker 2: No, it wasn't Betty Broderick. It was this woman. So
- 42:09Speaker 2: she was like 42 and he was like 21. And
- 42:12Speaker 2: they were like together for a very long time.
- 42:15Speaker 3: Yes. And then he was, there was rumors that he
- 42:17Speaker 3: was with Lily Tomlin at one point. I remember that.
- 42:21Speaker 3: I mean, when I was growing up, he was, like,
- 42:23Speaker 3: the biggest star in the world.
- 42:25Speaker 2: Right, yeah, because it was the, yeah.
- 42:26Speaker 3: He was on the cover of the paper every day
- 42:28Speaker 3: with whoever.
- 42:29Speaker 2: I don't know. I would like to see this happen,
- 42:32Speaker 2: and I would like to see him in something else.
- 42:35Speaker 2: I just, I feel like it's been so long since
- 42:37Speaker 2: we've seen him do anything.
- 42:38Speaker 3: Yeah, he's due for it, because he has, like, a comeback. Now,
- 42:40Speaker 3: Pulp Fiction, of course, that was a long time ago,
- 42:42Speaker 3: but that was his big comeback, and then he had.
- 42:44Speaker 2: He needs to play, like, a father of the bride
- 42:46Speaker 2: type of, like, Movie, like a– just be cute and cheesy.
- 42:52Speaker 3: I think you just need to have him host the
- 42:53Speaker 3: Oscars because remember he just comes and does these great
- 42:55Speaker 3: flubs and just– They're brilliantly talented.
- 42:59Speaker 1: Wickedly.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Yeah, that was it. They're wickedly talented.
- 43:02Speaker 3: Adele Dazeem.
- 43:04Speaker 2: Oh, the Tonys were last night.
- 43:05Speaker 3: I watched it a little bit. I haven't seen any
- 43:08Speaker 3: of the shows.
- 43:08Speaker 2: I don't know anything. But congrats to the winners. Okay.
- 43:12Speaker 2: J-Lo gets to keep her $ 2. 5 million canceled tour amid
- 43:18Speaker 2: marital woes. So I guess, you know, part of the
- 43:22Speaker 2: tour was she got some money up front.
- 43:26Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 43:26Speaker 2: Then the tour was canceled. She gets to keep that
- 43:30Speaker 2: because they say it's going to be rescheduled.
- 43:33Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 43:35Speaker 2: But I don't know. I think, you know, I think
- 43:38Speaker 2: that the the whatever AG Live or who is it
- 43:44Speaker 2: that does it? Whoever's put the thing together.
- 43:47Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 43:49Speaker 2: I think they had decided along with her to cancel it.
- 43:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:54Speaker 2: And it's good. They're going to take it to the
- 43:55Speaker 2: grave that they take it. It just wasn't worth it
- 43:58Speaker 2: to continue. And we're going to take the loss. and
- 44:02Speaker 2: we're just gonna cancel it. Then hire all the people
- 44:05Speaker 2: to work it and all that and then also she
- 44:07Speaker 2: probably was like, I don't wanna come to like a
- 44:09Speaker 2: half empty place.
- 44:10Speaker 6: Arena.
- 44:12Speaker 2: You got, you were the ones, I mean, there's got
- 44:14Speaker 2: to be something where they came and they, they didn't
- 44:17Speaker 2: do their due diligence or, or estimate correctly that this
- 44:21Speaker 2: was going to be a huge hit.
- 44:23Speaker 3: Now, why did, why do you think they, they, people
- 44:25Speaker 3: didn't buy tickets? Cause I mean, she's no different than
- 44:28Speaker 3: like she got pop hits, like a Janet Jackson.
- 44:31Speaker 5: I know.
- 44:31Speaker 2: I think I came up, I know.
- 44:32Speaker 3: And she dances.
- 44:33Speaker 2: I know why.
- 44:34Speaker 3: I feel like people have gone, are going to concerts.
- 44:36Speaker 3: So it's not like there's an overwhelming.
- 44:38Speaker 2: Uh, This is what I think. I think Beyonce and
- 44:41Speaker 2: Taylor Swift and even Madonna for that matter. Took that money. No,
- 44:45Speaker 2: they have hits. They have big hits.
- 44:47Speaker 3: Right.
- 44:48Speaker 2: Real, really big hits. But they have consecutively gone out
- 44:53Speaker 2: every couple years and toured and toured and toured and toured.
- 44:56Speaker 2: So people go and they're like, I mean, Madonna always
- 45:02Speaker 2: puts on a great show, but someone like a Beyonce
- 45:04Speaker 2: and Taylor that have really, you know, done great in
- 45:07Speaker 2: the last 10 years. It's like, they know that every,
- 45:10Speaker 2: that they go, it's going to be a killer show.
- 45:13Speaker 2: And so they're like loyal fans. Just like when we,
- 45:15Speaker 2: as comedians go crazy, And sometimes my agent would say this,
- 45:20Speaker 2: and I'd be like, but aren't the people sick of me?
- 45:22Speaker 2: He's like, no. If you go back to the same
- 45:25Speaker 2: place and you consecutively be good, they're like, I had
- 45:28Speaker 2: such a good time last time. And it's true. I
- 45:30Speaker 2: have people that are like, I've seen you five times.
- 45:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:33Speaker 2: Because I give a good show and they come and
- 45:34Speaker 2: they're loyal. But she didn't do that because she did
- 45:37Speaker 2: so many movies and things in between.
- 45:39Speaker 3: Right.
- 45:40Speaker 2: So she's really... so she just doesn't like, she's a
- 45:43Speaker 2: great performer, but it's not like she has these rabid
- 45:46Speaker 2: JLo fans like Swifties or the beehive. And so that
- 45:51Speaker 2: is why, that's why I don't think it, I mean,
- 45:53Speaker 2: I think people would, yeah, they'd go see her if
- 45:55Speaker 2: she went.
- 45:56Speaker 3: And also I think that she split herself in too
- 45:58Speaker 3: many ways. She's like, I don't know what she is.
- 46:00Speaker 3: Like she's an actress.
- 46:01Speaker 2: She's, she has all the clothing and the makeup and
- 46:04Speaker 2: all this.
- 46:04Speaker 3: And now she's also like just tabloid person. They're like,
- 46:07Speaker 3: I feel like I don't need to pay to see
- 46:09Speaker 3: her because I see her constantly.
- 46:11Speaker 2: Yes, I think there's always that secretive thing. I remember
- 46:15Speaker 2: back in Madonna's rise, it would be so rare that
- 46:18Speaker 2: she would ever do an interview or anything. And we
- 46:21Speaker 2: didn't really know her. And it's like, oh my God,
- 46:25Speaker 2: I have to see her.
- 46:25Speaker 3: So when she came walking out on an award show
- 46:27Speaker 3: or something, Madonna, it was exciting. Like, oh my God,
- 46:30Speaker 3: that's Madonna. But these people you see, like her, you
- 46:34Speaker 3: see her on TMZ every day. How am I going
- 46:37Speaker 3: to spend $ 400 on a ticket to see a concert?
- 46:40Speaker 2: Okay, Chris, I love that you agreed to stay because
- 46:43Speaker 2: we have so much more to talk about. But first,
- 46:45Speaker 2: to conclude today's show, I want you to hear this
- 46:47Speaker 2: interview I did. It's very juicy. And so many of
- 46:51Speaker 2: you have asked me about the Netflix documentary Dancing with
- 46:56Speaker 2: the Devil. about a religion that included all these TikTok dancers.
- 47:03Speaker 2: And a lot of people have been talking about it.
- 47:05Speaker 2: And I interviewed Katie Paulson, who really had a big
- 47:08Speaker 2: part in getting the story out there through the mainstream
- 47:11Speaker 2: media and other people picking it up, which made it, hence,
- 47:15Speaker 2: made this documentary happen. And so let's get into that
- 47:19Speaker 2: interview right now. Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop. I
- 47:23Speaker 2: am talking to Katie Paulson. best known for her YouTube
- 47:27Speaker 2: channel and her Instagram, which is how I found you,
- 47:30Speaker 2: without a crystal ball. Welcome to Juicy Scoop.
- 47:33Speaker 6: Thanks, Heather. I'm so excited to be here.
- 47:38Speaker 2: Listen, you have a very juicy channel, and you covered
- 47:44Speaker 2: a lot of cults.
- 47:46Speaker 5: Yes.
- 47:48Speaker 2: You contributed to the documentary Dancing with the Devil. How
- 47:54Speaker 2: did they... contact you to get, have your involvement in that,
- 47:58Speaker 2: which is on Netflix, which is about these Tik TOK
- 48:01Speaker 2: dancers that we all enjoy watching so much. Some were couples,
- 48:05Speaker 2: some all met out in LA and, and the documentary
- 48:10Speaker 2: is how they are super talented, but they also believe
- 48:14Speaker 2: in God and they joined this church run by this
- 48:17Speaker 2: man named a pastor named Robert Shin.
- 48:20Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 48:21Speaker 2: And after being part of that church for a while, he, said,
- 48:25Speaker 2: you know, you're so talented. Why don't I form a
- 48:27Speaker 2: management company called 7M that will help you guys secure
- 48:32Speaker 2: dancing jobs and brand deals and whatnot. And so he's
- 48:37Speaker 2: in charge of the church as well as the management company. Yes.
- 48:41Speaker 2: And that was a big part of the documentary.
- 48:43Speaker 5: Yes.
- 48:43Speaker 2: Based on how much they would end up paying for
- 48:46Speaker 2: their gig. So they'd give 20% for the management. Yep.
- 48:51Speaker 2: But then they're also getting... 30% because they broke it
- 48:54Speaker 2: down into three tens to the church.
- 48:56Speaker 6: 10, 10, 10. Yep. 10% tithing, 10% man of 10%
- 49:00Speaker 6: man of God. And then 10% first offering, meaning like
- 49:03Speaker 6: the first 10% of your paycheck. So really it's, it's
- 49:07Speaker 6: just another 10%.
- 49:09Speaker 2: Which is, I never had that. When I went to church,
- 49:12Speaker 2: they would just encourage you to give.
- 49:14Speaker 6: I grew up Catholic Yeah, Catholic.
- 49:17Speaker 2: It's like you're supposed to give, but it was never.
- 49:19Speaker 2: But I know Mormons, it's like a real hard 10%
- 49:22Speaker 2: of your income.
- 49:23Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 49:24Speaker 2: And things like that.
- 49:26Speaker 6: He comes from like prosperity gospel. He would say he
- 49:28Speaker 6: would not be, but it's very prosperity driven with the
- 49:32Speaker 6: idea of like the more you give, the more you'll receive.
- 49:35Speaker 6: The bigger the gift, the better the blessing.
- 49:38Speaker 2: Right.
- 49:39Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 49:41Speaker 2: So you became aware of what was going on because,
- 49:45Speaker 2: and they show this in the documentary, Miranda, who is
- 49:49Speaker 2: one of the dancers who ended up marrying this other
- 49:53Speaker 2: guy that's part of it. So now they're the Derricks.
- 49:57Speaker 2: Her sister Melanie and her parents went live with a
- 50:02Speaker 2: plea of saying, we have not talked to you know,
- 50:06Speaker 2: Miranda in a while and we're just going public with it.
- 50:09Speaker 2: And that was brought to your attention. And then you
- 50:12Speaker 2: started to, you know, get their message out through your channel, correct?
- 50:18Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 50:18Speaker 6: So I found out about it from one of my followers,
- 50:21Speaker 6: like this family just went live and they're really worried
- 50:24Speaker 6: about their daughter. You cover cults. Maybe you could help them.
- 50:28Speaker 6: They knew that I have a lot of like mainstream
- 50:31Speaker 6: journalists that follow me. And so they felt like if
- 50:34Speaker 6: you post on your page, maybe an outlet will pick
- 50:37Speaker 6: it up. And that's what happened. Right.
- 50:40Speaker 2: So The Sun wrote about it. Daily Mail wrote about it.
- 50:43Speaker 6: Yeah. Because I've established relationships with different journalists, different outlets.
- 50:47Speaker 6: And I think that's kind of what you do in
- 50:49Speaker 6: this industry. And yeah, so I reached out to Kelly
- 50:53Speaker 6: and I said, hey, like I've covered cults for years.
- 50:56Speaker 6: And I know that one of the things that you
- 50:58Speaker 6: can do is try to get as much, you know,
- 51:00Speaker 6: if we push it out. and we get enough exposure
- 51:03Speaker 6: on this, maybe it'll go bigger. And then it got
- 51:07Speaker 6: to sort of a point where even though it got
- 51:11Speaker 6: pushed out and even though there was exposure, Robert sort
- 51:14Speaker 6: of took the narrative back.
- 51:16Speaker 2: Right.
- 51:17Speaker 6: And he changed things up, which you see in the series. So, um,
- 51:23Speaker 6: it was March of 2022. It was February 24th. They
- 51:25Speaker 6: went live. It was March, 2022. Everything goes viral. And
- 51:32Speaker 6: near the end of March, I was approached by Tim Milgram,
- 51:36Speaker 6: who is a director that has a dance studio, and
- 51:40Speaker 6: Isaiah Shin, who is Robert's son, used to work for him.
- 51:45Speaker 6: And he quit to go work for his dad, which
- 51:48Speaker 6: he thought was weird. He's like, my dad's making me
- 51:50Speaker 6: quit to go work for him. And he noticed that
- 51:54Speaker 6: all these dancers were leaving with him. And Tim felt
- 51:59Speaker 6: almost a sense of responsibility, like, if I didn't have
- 52:03Speaker 6: Isaiah in my studio, maybe he never would have met
- 52:06Speaker 6: these people. He almost felt like it was his fault.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Oh, I see what you mean. So he was saying
- 52:11Speaker 2: because he had the dancers in his studio and Isaiah
- 52:13Speaker 2: was doing video, filming the videos for him. Yeah. That
- 52:17Speaker 2: is how possibly they met Isaiah. And then Isaiah was like, Hey,
- 52:21Speaker 2: you know, you should come and you know, come to
- 52:24Speaker 2: our church. God.
- 52:26Speaker 3: Okay.
- 52:26Speaker 6: And so for Tim, he just felt like, oh my gosh,
- 52:30Speaker 6: did I do this? You know, like he's a really
- 52:33Speaker 6: well-respected director. Everyone loves to go to his studio for dance.
- 52:37Speaker 6: He does classes. He's not a manager. So he didn't
- 52:40Speaker 6: sign any of these people. He wasn't in charge of
- 52:42Speaker 6: their careers or anything like that. But so he approached
- 52:45Speaker 6: me and he was like, listen, I see what you're
- 52:47Speaker 6: doing to help the Wilkins. I know the Wilkins because
- 52:50Speaker 6: Melanie and Miranda have both danced here. And I want
- 52:54Speaker 6: to help. I know Isaiah and he's like, I have
- 52:56Speaker 6: a friend named Jessica. She has, she works for WVE entertainment,
- 53:01Speaker 6: Wilmer Valderrama entertainment, and she does non-scripted and I've asked
- 53:06Speaker 6: her to look into this. And I was like, okay.
- 53:07Speaker 6: And he's like, really, what I'd like to do is
- 53:09Speaker 6: have all of us working together so that it's like
- 53:12Speaker 6: strength in numbers is kind of how he put it. Like,
- 53:15Speaker 6: let's just bring everyone together and we'll do this production
- 53:17Speaker 6: together to even bring it to a bigger platform. Um,
- 53:21Speaker 6: so that was kind of how it was born. And
- 53:23Speaker 6: I met Jessica through at a meeting with Jessica and
- 53:28Speaker 6: kind of talked about.
- 53:29Speaker 2: What Jessica's of the producer.
- 53:31Speaker 1: Okay.
- 53:31Speaker 6: Yeah. She's the executive producer. She's so amazing. And I
- 53:35Speaker 6: will say that Wilmer's entire team was phenomenal. Um, Wilmer
- 53:39Speaker 6: was involved, but he was like more hands off because
- 53:42Speaker 6: this is Jessica's non-scripted department. Um, but he was a
- 53:46Speaker 6: really big part of You know, helping families feel comfortable,
- 53:51Speaker 6: like his level of compassion and all of that. So
- 53:54Speaker 6: what I really loved about this production company more than others,
- 53:57Speaker 6: because so many companies approached me. Was that their care
- 54:02Speaker 6: for the people involved, um, remembering that it's a human
- 54:06Speaker 6: being and it's their real life. And they were really
- 54:10Speaker 6: like wanting to, they didn't want to sensationalize it. They
- 54:14Speaker 6: didn't want to exploit it. They just wanted to help
- 54:16Speaker 6: give it a bigger platform. And Wilmer's whole thing is
- 54:21Speaker 6: about his whole production company is about representing minority populations.
- 54:28Speaker 6: Obviously he's from Venezuela and he's a Latino man. And
- 54:33Speaker 6: so this story fit with that, right? So there's like
- 54:36Speaker 6: Korean immigrants involved in the story, and then you've got
- 54:39Speaker 6: African-American dancers. And so it's an underserved population. And so
- 54:43Speaker 6: it helped them because it's what they're passionate about is
- 54:47Speaker 6: elevating these stories. Because in some cases, a story like
- 54:50Speaker 6: this might have gotten lost because it's, you know, I'm
- 54:56Speaker 6: just glad that Wilmer's team was there is what I'm
- 54:58Speaker 6: trying to say.
- 54:58Speaker 2: Well, I thought some of the interesting things about it
- 55:01Speaker 2: is that a lot of these dancers were featured on
- 55:04Speaker 2: Ellen when Ellen had her talk show.
- 55:06Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 55:06Speaker 2: She was so big on dancing. Yep. And, you know,
- 55:10Speaker 2: she certainly didn't, it's appeared, I'm sure, in my opinion,
- 55:14Speaker 2: she wasn't thrilled about that. this story coming out and
- 55:20Speaker 2: in her defense, these are good dancers. I don't think
- 55:24Speaker 2: that she was, you know, taking a cut or in,
- 55:27Speaker 2: or going to the church or anything. I just think
- 55:29Speaker 2: the dancers came here and then they, but then they
- 55:32Speaker 2: were like, Oh my God, these dances are on Ellen.
- 55:34Speaker 2: So it's like, okay.
- 55:35Speaker 6: They're friends. Well, they were friends with Twitch, right? So
- 55:39Speaker 6: Twitch was a, one of a contestant on. So, so
- 55:42Speaker 6: you think you can dance. And so was Vic who
- 55:45Speaker 6: is at Slavic and Miranda competed on So You Think
- 55:49Speaker 6: You Can Dance as well. So several of these dancers
- 55:52Speaker 6: were friends with them because they were part of the
- 55:55Speaker 6: like umbrella of So You Think You Can Dance. And
- 55:58Speaker 6: then B-Dash and Kevin were on World of Dance. And
- 56:03Speaker 6: so if you know anything about the dance community in
- 56:05Speaker 6: LA is that it's like small. Like there's a lot
- 56:09Speaker 6: of dancers, but the community is tight. And so everyone
- 56:12Speaker 6: knows everyone. And so- Twitch was bringing his friends on
- 56:18Speaker 6: basically to dance.
- 56:19Speaker 2: I mean, I did think it was interesting. One part
- 56:22Speaker 2: of it to give Robert Shin as a producer and manager,
- 56:27Speaker 2: some credit is he was coming up with these older,
- 56:31Speaker 2: more classic songs that the kids had never heard of. And,
- 56:35Speaker 2: you know, it reminds me of this other guy interviewed
- 56:37Speaker 2: during COVID, this really cute guy. I can't remember his name.
- 56:41Speaker 2: something white and um now i can't remember his name
- 56:44Speaker 2: but he he went viral because he was like singing
- 56:47Speaker 2: old 1970s songs oh really oh cute and he had
- 56:51Speaker 2: like kind.
- 56:52Speaker 6: Of wavy hair and it was a dick no oh
- 56:56Speaker 6: because that's.
- 56:56Speaker 2: Just lip syncing them but it just kind of went
- 56:59Speaker 2: viral because it was nostalgic and it was also like
- 57:03Speaker 2: these great hits so in the videos that they did
- 57:07Speaker 2: yeah we were great. They were shot great. They dress sharp.
- 57:12Speaker 2: They were two really great songs. It was charming. It
- 57:16Speaker 2: was good, clean fun. No one was twerking. It was like,
- 57:19Speaker 2: I could see why.
- 57:21Speaker 6: It felt like wholesome, right?
- 57:22Speaker 2: I could see why it was such a, a big thing.
- 57:26Speaker 2: And in the documentary that we see that, you know, um,
- 57:29Speaker 2: these kids don't, you know, have a lot of money.
- 57:32Speaker 2: So isn't it great that you guys wait, I have
- 57:34Speaker 2: a property that you can all live at, right at
- 57:37Speaker 2: the house, just like there's there are TikTok houses and
- 57:40Speaker 2: YouTube houses where a bunch of kids get together and
- 57:42Speaker 2: collab and make videos. So it was kind of like that.
- 57:46Speaker 6: So like high quality is what I said in the series.
- 57:50Speaker 6: So how would they know that it's not weird? Right.
- 57:52Speaker 1: Right.
- 57:53Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 57:53Speaker 6: There's so many other people out there doing this.
- 57:56Speaker 2: And also it's like, you know, Hey, we're, we believe
- 57:59Speaker 2: in God and you know, we believe in the scripture
- 58:01Speaker 2: and this is helping us and it's providing, you know,
- 58:05Speaker 2: a discipline and like all that kind of stuff. So I,
- 58:08Speaker 2: I do get it. And then also there's that side
- 58:12Speaker 2: of like, well, maybe Miranda, you know, was happy to
- 58:16Speaker 2: get away from her sister a little bit and maybe
- 58:18Speaker 2: she wanted to be on her own and now she's
- 58:20Speaker 2: in love with her husband and all of that. Yeah.
- 58:23Speaker 2: And so then, but I could see what also thought
- 58:26Speaker 2: was interesting is, and I wish they kind of would
- 58:30Speaker 2: have focused a little more on this, is when you
- 58:34Speaker 2: suspect that your child or someone you love might be
- 58:39Speaker 2: in whatever organization you want to call it. Yeah. Where
- 58:42Speaker 2: they're not communicating like they used to and you feel
- 58:45Speaker 2: like it's not 100% their choice or they're being influenced
- 58:48Speaker 2: not to. Yeah. Like these decult people or whatever that
- 58:53Speaker 2: will help you to say the right thing.
- 58:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 58:57Speaker 2: And I think that was really interesting. They were like
- 58:59Speaker 2: practicing in the car before they saw their loved ones
- 59:02Speaker 2: of like what to say so that it's not like,
- 59:07Speaker 2: Leave me alone, mom. Or something like, hey, you know.
- 59:10Speaker 2: we want to hear about your journey. And if there's
- 59:12Speaker 2: something that, um, you know, was hurtful in your childhood
- 59:16Speaker 2: that you feel like this is, you know, comforting, we
- 59:19Speaker 2: don't want to question that. Like there's a certain words
- 59:21Speaker 2: that you use that I thought was like very interesting.
- 59:25Speaker 6: Yeah. And Kelly's actually, I don't She's a counselor. So
- 59:28Speaker 6: she was a school counselor and she is, they worked
- 59:33Speaker 6: with deprogramming, like cult experts. They had conversations I know
- 59:39Speaker 6: with like X members of NXIVM. And I know that
- 59:42Speaker 6: they spoke to different psychologists and professionals and they contacted
- 59:46Speaker 6: like the human trafficking coalition in Los Angeles. Like they
- 59:53Speaker 6: literally did absolutely everything. I think the challenge with this
- 59:59Speaker 6: specific case is that those people might be able to
- 1:00:04Speaker 6: help when you can actually communicate with that person. But
- 1:00:07Speaker 6: in this case, they didn't know if they were actually
- 1:00:10Speaker 6: communicating with her because Robert's system is set up that
- 1:00:16Speaker 6: the mentors had access to their phones, their passwords, their
- 1:00:21Speaker 6: social media.
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: Meaning there's like a person that's like in charge of
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: a small group within the church that they kind of
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: have to check in with. You're saying those people allegedly
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: could control all that stuff. So they would see the
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: text and stuff. Yeah.
- 1:00:38Speaker 6: So he's got a hierarchy. It's like Robert's at the
- 1:00:41Speaker 6: top and he's the man of God. And he claims
- 1:00:43Speaker 6: that he is getting, you know, divine prophecies from God.
- 1:00:48Speaker 6: He kind of is that Pentecostal speaking in tongues, full
- 1:00:53Speaker 6: like charismatic, right? And a part of that is believing
- 1:00:58Speaker 6: in prophecy that you are getting direct messages from God.
- 1:01:01Speaker 6: And so it can open up these doors where the
- 1:01:04Speaker 6: wrong leader believes they are God or acts like they
- 1:01:08Speaker 6: are God. And so with Robert, a lot of it
- 1:01:11Speaker 6: became like, I am the source, right? But because he
- 1:01:16Speaker 6: elevated himself so high and believed he was so high,
- 1:01:19Speaker 6: he had other people doing his bidding. And so the
- 1:01:22Speaker 6: mentors are the ones that are really in charge of
- 1:01:26Speaker 6: directing and doing the day-to-day for everything. And Robert's like
- 1:01:31Speaker 6: telling them what to do, right? So he's got a wife, Hannah,
- 1:01:35Speaker 6: who's his fourth wife, by the way, the third that
- 1:01:37Speaker 6: he's married in the cult. And Hannah joined the cult
- 1:01:40Speaker 6: when she was like a late teenager and she's 20,
- 1:01:44Speaker 6: Some years younger than him, 22 years younger than him. Um,
- 1:01:48Speaker 6: and that's the whole thing, but these mentors, Hannah is
- 1:01:53Speaker 6: the manager and she's also the mentor for Miranda, right?
- 1:01:56Speaker 6: So because Miranda's having these, this person above her, they
- 1:02:02Speaker 6: don't know if it's Hannah or if it's Miranda. And
- 1:02:04Speaker 6: then the way that Aubrey explained it in the series
- 1:02:07Speaker 6: was that, you know, they had to go to their
- 1:02:09Speaker 6: mentors for everything. So they couldn't spend money without talking
- 1:02:14Speaker 6: to their mentor. They have to report throughout their day,
- 1:02:17Speaker 6: what they're doing to their mentors. And they have to
- 1:02:20Speaker 6: talk about if someone's reaching out to them and then
- 1:02:23Speaker 6: their mentor might tell them what to say. And the
- 1:02:25Speaker 6: mentor might actually log in and type it for them.
- 1:02:29Speaker 6: And in the case with Miranda and the other people,
- 1:02:32Speaker 6: there was a suspicion that we've kind of had confirmed
- 1:02:35Speaker 6: that they weren't really controlling their social media, even though
- 1:02:38Speaker 6: they could, they also had the mentors have access to
- 1:02:43Speaker 6: delete things, block people, you know, type in their DMS. So,
- 1:02:50Speaker 6: and then with Robert's teaching the die to yourself, which
- 1:02:52Speaker 6: we haven't really talked about where a big thing is
- 1:02:54Speaker 6: that he teaches them like in order to be fully
- 1:02:57Speaker 6: committed to their walk with Jesus, they have to die
- 1:02:59Speaker 6: to whatever they liked in their, in their life. They
- 1:03:02Speaker 6: have to die to their loved ones to save them
- 1:03:04Speaker 6: from hell.
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:03:07Speaker 6: And so, he's making it seem like their, their families
- 1:03:11Speaker 6: are going to die.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:03:12Speaker 6: If, if they don't cut off their families. So that
- 1:03:16Speaker 6: just adds a whole nother layer of like, well, if
- 1:03:17Speaker 6: I reach out to my family, are they going to die?
- 1:03:19Speaker 6: Are they going to die?
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: So a lot of the people that everyone participating is
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: no longer part of the, of the church.
- 1:03:30Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: And, and Miranda does, you know, come to visit.
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: And does talk to them. And we see that she
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: did go to her sister's wedding, which happened after the
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: doc had wrapped. And so she just spoke today on
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: her Instagram.
- 1:03:51Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: And she basically is talking to the camera. And she
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: looks great.
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: She looks fine.
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: And she says, you know, since the documentary has aired,
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: my husband and I, prior to that, felt safe in
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: our life.
- 1:04:05Speaker 6: Now.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: We are getting all these death threats and messages and
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: emails saying, if we're walking on the street, they're going
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: to pick us up and kidnap us. We should kill ourselves.
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: We should die. All this stuff.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: Which I can imagine if you receive it is really horrific.
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: But one of the things I want to say about this,
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: because we hear about it so much when whether they're
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: on a reality show and they have a bad edit
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: or they are part of this documentary about if in
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: fact they might be a part of a cult and
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: unwillingly or not aware of it.
- 1:04:47Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: Is because of the, because of what then comes into
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: my social media internet, therefore, whatever it is, the opposition
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: should be blamed for it. Like, right. As if, first
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: of all, who is mad at Miranda in this world
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: for dancing and being with her husband? If she is
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: in fact part of an organization that later on she
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: realizes wasn't what she thought it was, nobody is mad
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: at her for that.
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: No.
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: So I believe, in my opinion, and nobody, why don't
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: people wonder maybe these messages are coming to her, but
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: maybe they're coming from inside the house. They're coming from
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: so that you will go, oh my God, my family
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: put out this documentary and now my life is worse
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: because they spoke, my life is worse. And it's like,
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: there's no way to prove who these anonymous troll bot
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: people are. There is no, I've been through it myself.
- 1:05:56Speaker 6: And Robert is known to use fake accounts and bots
- 1:06:01Speaker 6: and all of that. And I actually saw this happening yesterday.
- 1:06:04Speaker 6: They tried to scare her mom by claiming I was
- 1:06:08Speaker 6: going to get Miranda killed. And I'm like, it's just like,
- 1:06:12Speaker 6: they're trying to Robert in whatever way he can make
- 1:06:17Speaker 6: it so that he, he, that he is the safety, right?
- 1:06:22Speaker 6: But I want to say point blank, like if anyone
- 1:06:27Speaker 6: is sending those messages and it's not connected to the cult, don't.
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: And I'm also saying there's just no way to prove
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: who these people really are. In this world of AI,
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: fake accounts, bots, trolls, people can buy those, they can
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: disguise them, they can make it look like... they're juicy
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: scoopers coming after this.
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: They can make it look like that. Like there's, it's,
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: and I, and I feel badly that anyone receives even
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: one mean comment, DM or message. It should never just
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: be like, Oh, get over it girl. Because when you
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: read it, it's really upsetting.
- 1:07:05Speaker 6: It's totally upsetting.
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: So it's like, but I just think it's yeah. But I,
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: but when you first get it, if you've never really
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: gotten that before and, you do think, oh my God,
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: it's coming from that camp. And I don't want to
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: fuck with that camp anymore, no matter what. Yeah, and
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: so it helps.
- 1:07:25Speaker 6: Strengthen her resolve that she needs to go deeper in
- 1:07:28Speaker 6: with Robert.
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: And that, you know, this got exposed. And because it
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: doesn't make any sense why anybody watching this doc would
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: be compelled to get on their phone and write something
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: mean to any one of the people.
- 1:07:43Speaker 6: Of the victims.
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: That are involved, you know, dancing and believing in this man, whatever.
- 1:07:50Speaker 6: Well, here's the thing is I don't think Miranda is
- 1:07:53Speaker 6: the re we don't believe Miranda has seen the series.
- 1:07:56Speaker 6: So she doesn't really, in our opinion, like, at least
- 1:08:00Speaker 6: in my opinion and who I've talked to, we don't
- 1:08:02Speaker 6: think she's watched it because if she watched it, she
- 1:08:05Speaker 6: would know that nothing happened. was really said badly about her.
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: There was not one thing said. I mean, the only
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: thing that you could be offended by.
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: Everyone talks so lovingly about her.
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: I mean, the only thing that you could be offended
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: by if you were her is, you know, I'm a
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: big girl. I know what I'm doing. How dare you
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: think that I'm dumb enough to be succumbed to something
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: that is not truthful? I believe in this church. I
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: believe in this man. And how dare you question me
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: as an adult? That's about it. And, but it's coming
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: out of a loving thing, but I assume that's why
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: anybody in any religious organization gets pissed and offended when
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: people question it.
- 1:08:47Speaker 6: Well, Robert has made them so paranoid of the outside
- 1:08:50Speaker 6: world too. Like he tells them they're all demonic or,
- 1:08:55Speaker 6: you know, it's a spiritual attack.
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:08:57Speaker 6: So he does. use fake accounts. I mean, I would
- 1:09:02Speaker 6: tell Miranda on the flip side, I have received those
- 1:09:06Speaker 6: same kinds of messages for two years covering the story.
- 1:09:10Speaker 6: You know, I get threats constantly. I'm being sued. Like
- 1:09:14Speaker 6: this is not, I, first of all, like if you've
- 1:09:18Speaker 6: seen my coverage and you will see, and even the
- 1:09:21Speaker 6: production's coverage over and over and over again, we have said,
- 1:09:24Speaker 6: do not leave nasty comments. Please be kind to these people.
- 1:09:28Speaker 6: Don't even comment. Like you have no reason to comment.
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: Yeah, you don't need to comment. Nobody needs to go.
- 1:09:33Speaker 6: You don't need to tell her she's in a cult.
- 1:09:35Speaker 6: You don't need to say anything really.
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:09:38Speaker 6: Just leave her alone. Like, and remember that they're victims
- 1:09:43Speaker 6: and they don't know it. So it's like, you don't
- 1:09:45Speaker 6: know you're in a cult until you know.
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: You know, and also the shame of it I've talked
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: about that. Well, also another shame of it is without
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: all of this being exposed through the documentary.
- 1:10:00Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: Someone may have come across her page, her, her dancing.
- 1:10:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: And been like, Oh my God, we want her to
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: be on dancing with the stars as a, you know,
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: with the star, or we want her to be part
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: of this. Well, now I'm telling you, if that was
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: my job, if I was producer of one of these
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: dancing shows, as cute and as fabulous as she is,
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: now that I know that this is her manager and
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: this is this other stuff that's happening, I'm going to
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: be less likely to want to hire her. Because those
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: are the people that are attached and all of that.
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: And that's the real shame. That is the shame of
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: this getting out is that Well, you may have, without
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: it being known, you might've gotten this opportunity. You would
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: have had to give 50% of your money away before taxes. Yeah.
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: But now the opportunity is not going to come at
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: all because it's just too sticky and icky.
- 1:10:55Speaker 6: And they were doing a good job. If you saw
- 1:10:58Speaker 6: in the series of like, he's like, we're going to
- 1:11:00Speaker 6: cut people off and they're not even going to know it,
- 1:11:03Speaker 6: you know? And that was a whole thing so that
- 1:11:05Speaker 6: they could hide what was happening, right? Like he signs
- 1:11:08Speaker 6: them all into NDAs. So really, is she going to
- 1:11:12Speaker 6: be able to be truthful? Because if she has an
- 1:11:15Speaker 6: NDA and she can't disparage him, she's not going to
- 1:11:18Speaker 6: blame him for any of this. And she still believes
- 1:11:22Speaker 6: that he's her man of God. And so, of course,
- 1:11:24Speaker 6: it's the outsiders that are creating this. Of course, it's
- 1:11:28Speaker 6: her family that is to blame. But I think I
- 1:11:32Speaker 6: can say this for certain, that her family did not
- 1:11:35Speaker 6: come into this with ill motives. They did not come
- 1:11:37Speaker 6: into this to hurt her. to hurt James. They came
- 1:11:41Speaker 6: in to help get people out. And that live that
- 1:11:47Speaker 6: they did woke up six dancers. That live woke up
- 1:11:55Speaker 6: former members that had been in his cult for 20
- 1:11:58Speaker 6: plus years. Priscilla left as a result of everything that
- 1:12:03Speaker 6: happened after they went live and all of that coverage.
- 1:12:06Speaker 6: And Mentors start finding out again that Robert all these
- 1:12:12Speaker 6: years later is still having inappropriate relationships with women in
- 1:12:16Speaker 6: his church while he's married, you know, and that creates
- 1:12:19Speaker 6: a whole conflict and his daughter takes off with her husband,
- 1:12:23Speaker 6: you know. So families that were in this cult for
- 1:12:27Speaker 6: 20 plus years are exiting as well because they're like,
- 1:12:30Speaker 6: this isn't what I signed up for. You know, you
- 1:12:33Speaker 6: lied to me about this. You know, you've deceived me.
- 1:12:37Speaker 6: And we were shocked when Miranda and James didn't leave.
- 1:12:41Speaker 6: And when tight eyes and Kendra and Vic and Nick
- 1:12:45Speaker 6: didn't leave, it was shocking.
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: So those people that are in the dock are still
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: active in the company and the church. Yeah. Well, you know, again,
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: this is all, you know, alleged and then what we
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: see and what has been told and from the other
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: members and she is saying she's very happy she did
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: go to the sister's wedding and you know and there
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: was some of that in the doc of like we'll
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: go call your family go see your family because this
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: is out we don't want it to look like you
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: can't be hanging out with your family at.
- 1:13:27Speaker 6: All yeah and I think now because they can't do
- 1:13:30Speaker 6: that right like he's been exposed. Like that was a
- 1:13:33Speaker 6: whole thing he was doing. So now what is he
- 1:13:35Speaker 6: going to do?
- 1:13:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:13:37Speaker 6: He's going to try to blame the documentary for causing
- 1:13:39Speaker 6: harm to her.
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:13:42Speaker 6: And really anything that she posts right now is coming
- 1:13:46Speaker 6: from him. So, and her mentors are telling her what
- 1:13:51Speaker 6: to post. So do we even know that these are
- 1:13:54Speaker 6: really happening? Do we know?
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: I wonder if all this, what if someone just reached
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: out to 7M and they're a really good dancer. And
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: they're like, hi, I'd like you to manage me, but
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: I don't want to join your church. If you're truly
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: a manager, then why not just like be thrilled that, oh,
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: you have such great people under your management company manage me. Like, yeah, then,
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: you know, you should be happy that you've been given
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: all this attention.
- 1:14:23Speaker 6: But they can't be happy that these.
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: Great dancers are now being featured on an international platform.
- 1:14:30Speaker 6: Well, have you looked at the views on her Instagram
- 1:14:34Speaker 6: or like through the roof right now? Yeah.
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: So, I mean, why isn't there anything positive? Like I
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: would think a different attitude to take if I was
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: he is to say, look, whatever, these things are not true.
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: What is true is that I have these really talented
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: dancers that, you know, that are available to work and
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: for things. And let's make a deal and whatever. And
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: then also on Sundays, they, you know, come to my
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: church and pray or whatever it is. Like, I'm just
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: saying there's a way, it's just interesting the reaction that's
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: come from it, you know?
- 1:15:11Speaker 6: And he could stop all of this, right? Like he
- 1:15:13Speaker 6: could be the man of God and the manager and
- 1:15:19Speaker 6: come out and speak and say something, but he's really putting...
- 1:15:24Speaker 6: these people out like sacrificial lambs and like he's putting,
- 1:15:29Speaker 6: he's letting the bus roll over them. He's making them
- 1:15:33Speaker 6: do his dirty work and, and fight his battles. And
- 1:15:36Speaker 6: he's telling them probably that it's a spiritual attack against
- 1:15:39Speaker 6: him and they need to pray harder and be more
- 1:15:41Speaker 6: obedient to him. It's sad.
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: What's going to happen is like anything in a week
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: or two, there'll be another hot doc or thing that
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: people will be talking about. And, you know, and then
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: these families will not have everyone chatting about it, getting
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: the attention. And all they're going to be able to
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: do is just hope and pray that they're able to
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: keep their relationship with their daughter in an authentic way.
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: And like, who knows if that'll happen. And then at
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: a certain point, I feel like the family's got to
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: get on with their life. You know, I mean, I
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: also think about the other sister. Like how many years
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: and are we, is our whole family just going to
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: be like the other sister's married? She's going to want
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: to have a kid. Like at a certain point, you're
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: just going to be like, okay, all right, we'll see
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: you twice a year and we won't talk about your church. And,
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: but it won't, it'll feel fake, but what are we
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: supposed to do? Like, I just think after a certain point, what, what, what,
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: what is a family supposed to do? And that's where,
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: you know, I find it really intriguing.
- 1:16:52Speaker 6: Yeah. And that's kind of the conversation that was had
- 1:16:55Speaker 6: in this documentary is what is it like to lose
- 1:16:58Speaker 6: someone and they're an adult and it looks like human trafficking,
- 1:17:02Speaker 6: but when adults are involved in human trafficking, the adult
- 1:17:07Speaker 6: has to recognize they're a victim. Right.
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: I mean, and this type of thing does happen. People,
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: kids go off to college and they get involved in
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: organizations that, are very, very different than the mindset of
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: the parents. And the parents are like, I don't want
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: my son.
- 1:17:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: Or, but I remember my mom had a friend whose
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: daughter was in the Moonies, which was like this old school.
- 1:17:30Speaker 7: Oh yeah.
- 1:17:31Speaker 6: That was a cult.
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: Cult. And how terrible it was. And it was just like,
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: oh my God, you raise your child your whole life.
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: And it's just like, I, what are we supposed to do?
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: And then if, but if you're too stronghold, you know,
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: and you know, then you're, what are you supposed to do?
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: Kidnap them? Like, when they're adults, how it's just- I think.
- 1:17:53Speaker 6: Right now the concern is, is that there's illegal activities
- 1:17:57Speaker 6: happening here that are happening very publicly. There's obvious signs
- 1:18:02Speaker 6: of labor trafficking and multiple women have come forward related
- 1:18:08Speaker 6: to reports of sexual assault and sexual abuse. In our research,
- 1:18:15Speaker 6: there's been at least 10 women that have accused him
- 1:18:18Speaker 6: of this. And so it's not just a situation of
- 1:18:22Speaker 6: my daughter joined a group and it's high control. This
- 1:18:25Speaker 6: is beyond high control. I mean, this is, they're controlling
- 1:18:28Speaker 6: everything in their lives down to what they can post
- 1:18:31Speaker 6: and not post. And then for him to try to
- 1:18:33Speaker 6: say that the documentary is making her unsafe when the realities,
- 1:18:37Speaker 6: when Priscilla tried to leave.
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: Who's Priscilla again?
- 1:18:41Speaker 6: She was the one that came out of the cult.
- 1:18:43Speaker 6: That was Melanie's sister.
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: Oh yes.
- 1:18:45Speaker 6: When she tried to leave, she said she was beaten
- 1:18:48Speaker 6: by Hannah. Um, for an hour and you know she
- 1:18:53Speaker 6: says that Robert raped her for years and she wasn't
- 1:18:56Speaker 6: allowed to get married and she wasn't allowed to have
- 1:18:58Speaker 6: kids because Robert will not let them have children so
- 1:19:02Speaker 6: it's like.
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: She has she has filed A lawsuit against him, right?
- 1:19:07Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: Everything you're saying is part of her lawsuit.
- 1:19:10Speaker 6: Correct. And it's an allegation and a lawsuit, which he denies, right?
- 1:19:16Speaker 6: So he says that the relationship was consensual and that
- 1:19:21Speaker 6: no inappropriateness was happening outside the fact that he was
- 1:19:24Speaker 6: her employer and pastor.
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:19:28Speaker 6: And had her living in housing. Now the court, he
- 1:19:30Speaker 6: tried to get it thrown out when she said that
- 1:19:32Speaker 6: she was being human trafficked. And he said that she
- 1:19:35Speaker 6: hadn't pled that complaint well. And the court basically said, no,
- 1:19:38Speaker 6: she did. You were controlling her housing, her wallet, her keys,
- 1:19:43Speaker 6: access to cars. I mean, Priscilla really was a prisoner
- 1:19:47Speaker 6: in that White House in many respects. And for her
- 1:19:50Speaker 6: to get out, she was beaten. So like, that's the
- 1:19:53Speaker 6: concern about the longer Miranda stays. that could be her.
- 1:19:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: And well, I mean, it was, you know, well, I
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: commend you for, you know, using your platform to get
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: this story out. I really do feel like you were
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: the one that got the ball rolling and hopefully whatever happens,
- 1:20:17Speaker 2: they continue to be happy and prosperous and are not,
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: don't fall to anything that's, you know, worse than what
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: we've seen and we'll see, we'll see what comes about,
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: you know? Um, and hopefully everything with you in speaking
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: your truth will, you know, uh, come out on the
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: right side. Yeah.
- 1:20:41Speaker 6: I'm pretty, I'm hopeful. Like this docuseries really helped everything
- 1:20:46Speaker 6: that's been happening to me. And so, um, I would
- 1:20:49Speaker 6: just hope that, the conversation keeps happening that people start questioning,
- 1:20:54Speaker 6: like how many women have to come forward before police
- 1:20:57Speaker 6: do anything about someone.
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: That was really interesting too. And sad. We need a
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: couple more women. It's like, Oh my God.
- 1:21:04Speaker 6: So you apparently have to be a serial person doing that. Right.
- 1:21:08Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: Well, I mean, basically it's like the puff daddy thing.
- 1:21:12Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: Didn't happen until. Yeah. It's like women in numbers is. Well, anyway,
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: I'm going to let you go, but tell everybody where
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: they can follow and get more of your content.

- 1:21:43Speaker 2: And I do love that name. That is very clever. Oh, yeah.
- 1:21:46Speaker 6: Well, it fits with the whole cult thing, right?
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: Yeah. I always am like, prediction. I do have predictions.
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: So I should be like, prediction, but not without a
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: crystal ball. I don't have a crystal ball, but it's very... Um,
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: it's clever. Well, anyway, thank you so much.
- 1:22:01Speaker 6: Thank you, Heather. It was wonderful talking with you.
- 1:22:03Speaker 3: Okay.
