- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, hey, hey, Yeah, I gotta tell you something, man,
- 0:04Speaker 1: And I am so excited about this. And I don't
- 0:07Speaker 1: know anything about this company. I don't know anything about
- 0:11Speaker 1: what you know. All I know is it's working for
- 0:16Speaker 1: my kids, and it's got my kids off of video games,
- 0:19Speaker 1: and it's got me playing the ship too, and it's
- 0:22Speaker 1: really it's a lot of fun and everything. It's called
- 0:24Speaker 1: Gravia Tracks. Have you heard of it? I saw it
- 0:27Speaker 1: on Casey's Instagram and explain it to people who don't
- 0:32Speaker 1: know what it is. But I saw what Rocco built
- 0:34Speaker 1: and it was fucking awesome. Yeah, okay, So Gravia Tracks
- 0:38Speaker 1: is like a marble racing obstacle course slash. I want
- 0:46Speaker 1: to reminds you of like old school hot Wheels tracks
- 0:49Speaker 1: kind of like that also, but also like Lego also
- 0:52Speaker 1: because you have to build and it shows you pictures
- 0:56Speaker 1: of things you need to make the obstacle worse and
- 1:00Speaker 1: everything work. It's really awesome and the accessories that come
- 1:05Speaker 1: with it, you know, are very creative. Also. There's like
- 1:08Speaker 1: elevators and you know, trampolines and catapults and you know,
- 1:13Speaker 1: sling shot like crazy things like loop de loops, like
- 1:17Speaker 1: crazy things. And you get into it with your sons,
- 1:20Speaker 1: so you're like, you you don't feel like you're playing
- 1:22Speaker 1: something that's you know, it's cool because you're as interested
- 1:26Speaker 1: as he is. So you're actually playing with your kids
- 1:28Speaker 1: something that's fun for you both. All Right. When I
- 1:30Speaker 1: was a kid, Times Square has this place called Port Authority.
- 1:34Speaker 1: It's where all the buses come into New York City, right,
- 1:37Speaker 1: and growing up that place was like a freaking scary
- 1:41Speaker 1: ass you know, dirty. You know. They made a television
- 1:44Speaker 1: show about the neighborhood I grew up in, and it's
- 1:47Speaker 1: about pimps and prostitutes and crackheads and you know, the
- 1:52Speaker 1: beauty of forty second Street and where all the movie
- 1:54Speaker 1: theaters were, right, they made a television show about it. Anyway,
- 2:00Speaker 1: Or Authority had this thing and it had like a
- 2:01Speaker 1: bunch of uh pool h Q ball you know, balls
- 2:07Speaker 1: from you know, from the pool table, so like from
- 2:10Speaker 1: one all the way to was it twelve balls, right,
- 2:13Speaker 1: And they had a bunch of them and they created
- 2:15Speaker 1: something very similar to what Gravia Tracks is doing, and
- 2:20Speaker 1: it would but this thing made like music. And I
- 2:23Speaker 1: remember as a kid, people used to surround this thing
- 2:26Speaker 1: because it was like this clever contraption of you know, winding.
- 2:31Speaker 1: You know, if anybody out there remembers, uh, the sesame
- 2:36Speaker 1: street one, two, three, four or five six twelve, right
- 2:42Speaker 1: that remember how the cartoon went where it was like
- 2:45Speaker 1: a pinball machine, but then when you when you hit
- 2:48Speaker 1: the ball, it went inside one of the holes. And
- 2:50Speaker 1: then now the balls on a track and rolling all
- 2:52Speaker 1: around it. That's what graviha tracks is man, And it's amazing.
- 2:56Speaker 1: It's so much fun. It's so much fun. We have
- 2:59Speaker 1: so much fun with it. Kids have been doing it
- 3:00Speaker 1: for two dage straight without being on a television screen,
- 3:04Speaker 1: without you know, with it's just them and their mind
- 3:07Speaker 1: and their imagination and awesome. I just want to give
- 3:09Speaker 1: a shout out to them, uh and say yo, thank you.
- 3:14Speaker 1: I'm sure lots of parents are looking for any way
- 3:18Speaker 1: to have their kids be fascinated by something other than
- 3:20Speaker 1: video games absolutely or television. You know, it makes kids
- 3:26Speaker 1: have to use their brains. There's a lot of math involved,
- 3:30Speaker 1: you know, it's very specific in how things work, and
- 3:34Speaker 1: then you have to be creative with what you're given
- 3:37Speaker 1: in that realm. It's really awesome. That's awesome, all right,
- 3:39Speaker 1: everybody checked that out, Um, we got to talk about
- 3:42Speaker 1: wonder Woman, because I don't I really am confused about
- 3:47Speaker 1: wonder Woman. I don't know what the hell was going on.
- 3:50Speaker 1: And I know I'm speaking to three fans of superhero movies.
- 3:55Speaker 1: I don't ever like to disc anyone involved in creative
- 3:58Speaker 1: endeavors because it is so walking hard to make anything,
- 4:01Speaker 1: and thousands of people worked on this movie, and there's
- 4:03Speaker 1: so much talent. The actors are all amazing. I know,
- 4:06Speaker 1: the directors amazing. I just want to know from three
- 4:10Speaker 1: people who like these sort of things, what that was?
- 4:17Speaker 1: What a great question, Zach Joel, you go first, want
- 4:23Speaker 1: to talk about it? Uh? I feel like this is
- 4:28Speaker 1: the branded direction DC has chosen to go in where
- 4:32Speaker 1: they don't mind making these sort of like be heavy
- 4:36Speaker 1: camp films. But they're not for me. But the who
- 4:43Speaker 1: were they four? Because I was watching it going is
- 4:46Speaker 1: a kid gonna get any of this? No? I don't
- 4:49Speaker 1: think it's four children. It's four adults, specifically guys I
- 4:53Speaker 1: think who are really into like old school comics, which
- 4:57Speaker 1: didn't always have to make sense like the basis of
- 5:01Speaker 1: reality or even have like strunk structure. Now there's a
- 5:03Speaker 1: lot of great like classic comic books. But it's also
- 5:05Speaker 1: there was a genre of comics specifically for looking at
- 5:09Speaker 1: late eighties early nineties, where like the physics were off
- 5:11Speaker 1: and the body mechanics were way off, and there's like
- 5:13Speaker 1: no sense of reality and there's no sort of tie
- 5:17Speaker 1: to like, oh, we need a great American hero. And
- 5:19Speaker 1: it's not even you know, sixties cheesiness. It was just
- 5:22Speaker 1: like wild, extreme, like pumped up nineties kind of stuff.
- 5:26Speaker 1: And those fans have really clung to like that ideal
- 5:29Speaker 1: of superheroism. That's like what they really enjoy and so
- 5:32Speaker 1: you know, you don't need a motivational reason for the
- 5:35Speaker 1: Cheetah Lady to happen. She just happens, and it's totally fine.
- 5:39Speaker 1: It's not for me. I think there's like especially a
- 5:42Speaker 1: disappointing that Wonder Woman doesn't get to be the center
- 5:44Speaker 1: of character in her own movie. It's a little disappointing.
- 5:48Speaker 1: I really like Wonder Woman. There's a lot of great
- 5:50Speaker 1: source material for her, and for me, it doesn't do
- 5:53Speaker 1: the character of Justice. But I also don't want to
- 5:55Speaker 1: take anything away from DC fans. I'm a true believer
- 5:57Speaker 1: that like, if you like a thing, you know that's
- 5:59Speaker 1: your ye and the DC fans liked this movie. I
- 6:01Speaker 1: haven't searched the internet to know if it's well received
- 6:04Speaker 1: or not. I don't even have critics liked it. I
- 6:06Speaker 1: didn't even look to see what critics liked it. It
- 6:08Speaker 1: was critically panned. And it seems to me that while
- 6:11Speaker 1: some DC fans were like, no, this is a solid
- 6:13Speaker 1: superhero movie, it's certainly not getting the praise of like
- 6:17Speaker 1: a Justice League or the the Call for you know,
- 6:21Speaker 1: Zack Snyder cut or anything like that. So I think
- 6:23Speaker 1: it's sort of middling. I have a I have a
- 6:26Speaker 1: real problem. Listen, we got we were really excited to
- 6:30Speaker 1: watch it. Yeah, me too. We were really excited all
- 6:34Speaker 1: those actors, yeah yeah, and great cast, great cast. And
- 6:38Speaker 1: the first three minutes of the movie with the little
- 6:43Speaker 1: girl is the best part of the movie to me.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Um where she uh is in the race and at
- 6:51Speaker 1: the last minute her I don't want to spoil it,
- 6:53Speaker 1: so I'm going to shut up, so but she's in
- 6:55Speaker 1: the race, and that was the best part of the movie.
- 6:58Speaker 1: And then a minute this is where I was like,
- 7:01Speaker 1: I think we're in trouble now. I'm not hating on
- 7:03Speaker 1: this movie. I'm not hating on this movie. I don't
- 7:06Speaker 1: want to hate on this movie, but this is where
- 7:07Speaker 1: I thought was like, oh, we're in trouble. When Wonder
- 7:10Speaker 1: Woman turned back around and winked at the little girl,
- 7:13Speaker 1: I was like, oh, oh, oh, oh no, And what
- 7:20Speaker 1: did it for me? Because and because my wife is
- 7:22Speaker 1: a great judge of what you know, what's to come,
- 7:26Speaker 1: Like she figured out the usual suspect before you know,
- 7:31Speaker 1: the minute the movie started. She was like, Oh, that's
- 7:32Speaker 1: kinds that's kinds of jose right yeah, And I was like, oh, okay.
- 7:36Speaker 1: She she said, oh, these are her exact words. She
- 7:40Speaker 1: went like that. She went oh And I was like
- 7:43Speaker 1: what what what? What? What? And she was like, uh,
- 7:48Speaker 1: if the rest of the movie is like this, we
- 7:49Speaker 1: got a problem. What was with all the SlowMo? What
- 7:55Speaker 1: was with all the SlowMo? I don't know. I have
- 7:59Speaker 1: to say I want to understand how she could fly.
- 8:02Speaker 1: I mean that she's always been able to do that.
- 8:04Speaker 1: She's always been able to do that. Hold on, now, now,
- 8:07Speaker 1: let's let's if you want to go and told me
- 8:09Speaker 1: on Twitter that she was lasting the lightning. I didn't know, Okay,
- 8:14Speaker 1: I've never seen her do that before. But Wonder Woman
- 8:16Speaker 1: has always been able to fly. What was weird was
- 8:19Speaker 1: why does she have the invisible jet because she can fly?
- 8:22Speaker 1: That was always the that was always the argument, you
- 8:25Speaker 1: know what I mean, Like, what's the point of the
- 8:27Speaker 1: invisible jet if you can fly? Um? But so as
- 8:31Speaker 1: far as that goes, her powers and everything like that
- 8:34Speaker 1: are top notch uh And they're powers and they're they're
- 8:40Speaker 1: but they're doing it justice man, Like, that's that's the truth.
- 8:43Speaker 1: She's supposed to be. If Superman is the male version
- 8:47Speaker 1: of what is the most powerful, wonder Woman is the
- 8:49Speaker 1: female version of what is the most powerful? You know
- 8:52Speaker 1: what I mean? Like they're supposed to be the Titans
- 8:55Speaker 1: that protect Earth, you know what, And that that that
- 8:58Speaker 1: is apparent in this movie. It's clear if you are
- 9:01Speaker 1: a mere mortal on this planet and you go against her,
- 9:05Speaker 1: and you go against Diana, you're gonna get your ass kicked.
- 9:09Speaker 1: On the other side of things, we all loved Soul, right,
- 9:12Speaker 1: Soul is incredible. You didn't like Soul. I have so
- 9:17Speaker 1: many feelings about Soul. It's a beautiful film. I cried
- 9:20Speaker 1: at the end. I think structurally it's very sound. I
- 9:25Speaker 1: sort of wish in the way that Coco got to
- 9:28Speaker 1: experience an afterlife that was authentic to a culture. I
- 9:30Speaker 1: wish soul had provided us with an afterlife authentic to
- 9:34Speaker 1: Black culture. Um, but but performances outstanding. I really really
- 9:40Speaker 1: did enjoy the Just watching the film, I thought, beautiful,
- 9:45Speaker 1: beautiful art. I saw someone coming on Twitter and one
- 9:48Speaker 1: of them like the body types. And it wasn't just
- 9:52Speaker 1: African Americans being the star of the show, but the
- 9:54Speaker 1: way that they the artists drew different body types and
- 9:57Speaker 1: facial types and shapes and sizes, the way they drew
- 10:00Speaker 1: his barber. I mean, I just love I loved us.
- 10:03Speaker 1: The art of it I thought was medical. I loved
- 10:07Speaker 1: Uh soul Um for a lot of reasons, but mostly
- 10:14Speaker 1: for like there there's something special about an artist when
- 10:17Speaker 1: they can inspire you. And usually when an artist does that,
- 10:20Speaker 1: they win Academy Awards and stuff like that. And Jamie
- 10:24Speaker 1: Fox is one of those artists. When he gets it right,
- 10:27Speaker 1: when the movie is right, and when he's in that zone,
- 10:31Speaker 1: he really can inspire you, you know what I mean,
- 10:33Speaker 1: Like he really his talent is top notch when the
- 10:38Speaker 1: when the cards are in his favor and he's playing
- 10:41Speaker 1: that hand, you know what I mean, Like I I
- 10:45Speaker 1: and this is one of them. This ray is one
- 10:48Speaker 1: of those, but this one also, it's like you listen
- 10:51Speaker 1: to him and you're like, holy cow, I I need
- 10:54Speaker 1: to be a voice actor. I think. I think. I
- 10:58Speaker 1: think if I focus really hard, I could be a
- 11:00Speaker 1: voice actor. Oh my, you know what I mean. He
- 11:02Speaker 1: just makes it seem like you can do it too,
- 11:05Speaker 1: and it's a gift that you have. I once told
- 11:07Speaker 1: him that, and I think it came off kind of wrong,
- 11:08Speaker 1: and he was like, well. I was like, I was like, dude, man,
- 11:11Speaker 1: you make you make people feel like they can win oscars.
- 11:15Speaker 1: He was like, well, shit, motherfucker, go get you one.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Then I was funny though he was. I hope he
- 11:22Speaker 1: was laughing with you. I was like, all right, all right,
- 11:26Speaker 1: I'm bad, but yo. Anyway, the point is he's just
- 11:30Speaker 1: amazing in this role. And when it comes to music,
- 11:34Speaker 1: it really does. You know, he really does shine, whether
- 11:36Speaker 1: he's talking it or singing it or you know, you
- 11:40Speaker 1: know it. There's just something special about him when it
- 11:44Speaker 1: comes to that. Yeah. It's a beautiful movie, I think,
- 11:47Speaker 1: and everyone should see it, even if you're not. If
- 11:49Speaker 1: you you know, I thought it was just artful and
- 11:53Speaker 1: Pixar man, did they have it? Did they have it down?
- 11:57Speaker 1: It's just almost every single time flawless. Daniel, you didn't
- 12:02Speaker 1: see that one either, did you didn't see it yet?
- 12:04Speaker 1: Daniel was building computers. M we I wanted to talk
- 12:09Speaker 1: about all the all the pictures of those of you
- 12:12Speaker 1: who bought onesies. Um, Donald and I are both loving
- 12:14Speaker 1: all the pictures you're posting. It brings a giant smile
- 12:17Speaker 1: into our face. We love that you love this podcast.
- 12:20Speaker 1: I just be sentimental for one second before Donald counts
- 12:23Speaker 1: us in. You know the amount of love that you
- 12:26Speaker 1: shower upon the four of us on social media, and
- 12:30Speaker 1: it really means a lot. And I saw so much
- 12:33Speaker 1: varying from silliness and someone in a onesie eagling their
- 12:37Speaker 1: their husband to someone saying this show probably saved my life.
- 12:42Speaker 1: No joking around this year. And I just want you
- 12:47Speaker 1: to know that we we hear it, and we love you,
- 12:49Speaker 1: and we did not think we'd make this much of
- 12:51Speaker 1: a difference, but it means so much to all of
- 12:54Speaker 1: us when we see your reaction here here, and so
- 12:59Speaker 1: we're gonna keep um entertaining you because that's what we're
- 13:02Speaker 1: here to do, is hopefully put a smile on your face, right, Donald,
- 13:06Speaker 1: Absolutely all right? I second that. All right, Well let's
- 13:10Speaker 1: let's why don't we rewatch an episode of Scrubs and
- 13:12Speaker 1: discussing six seven about show we made about a bunch
- 13:20Speaker 1: of nurses said stories, yet around here, yet around here? Yeah?
- 13:38Speaker 1: So do you have your recap ready? I do have
- 13:41Speaker 1: my recap ready. How did you feel about this episode? Um?
- 13:46Speaker 1: I thought it was very silly. It was very short,
- 13:48Speaker 1: It felt shorter than normal. Here's here's something I don't understand.
- 13:52Speaker 1: How do you make an episode that really is only
- 13:55Speaker 1: funny if you've smoked a lot of weed about about
- 13:59Speaker 1: you know, uh, you know, this is your brain on drugs.
- 14:03Speaker 1: How do you make you know what I mean? Like?
- 14:05Speaker 1: This show has so many like if you're if you're
- 14:07Speaker 1: stoned and you're watching this, this is a very very
- 14:09Speaker 1: funny episode, like silly, like the type of episode where
- 14:12Speaker 1: you got out your nose because you laugh so hard. Yeah,
- 14:15Speaker 1: you know what I mean? I felt like if I
- 14:17Speaker 1: would since you asked me. It's like the writers were you.
- 14:20Speaker 1: I can tell when the room and when the vibe
- 14:22Speaker 1: of the writer's room was particularly stonery and silly that week. Absolutely,
- 14:27Speaker 1: Now one of the mains of this episode, but I
- 14:30Speaker 1: mean the brain on Drugs episode, the B story is
- 14:33Speaker 1: essentially that the janitor wait, let me get into the riquet. Okay, okay,
- 14:39Speaker 1: but I mean it's definitely an If you had a
- 14:43Speaker 1: stone or friend who wasn't into scrubs, I suppose you'd
- 14:46Speaker 1: probably start with Wizard of Oz with musical, but this
- 14:49Speaker 1: might be one to show them, right, absolutely, absolutely, alright, alright,
- 14:54Speaker 1: hold on, hold on, hold on, stop watch and go.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Jad and Carla have really bonded over the last few years.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Turk sick of being nagged over his butt watching habits,
- 15:04Speaker 1: Elliott and Cox think differently of a patient, and the
- 15:07Speaker 1: janitor is maybe the most desperate we've ever seen him.
- 15:12Speaker 1: What are the limits to fidelity? When does it become infidelity?
- 15:17Speaker 1: That's not up for anyone to decide, but you my
- 15:20Speaker 1: personal belief, if you need to lie for whatever reason,
- 15:24Speaker 1: you're probably doing more harm to the situation than helping.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Communication is always key, amen on communication being always key.
- 15:34Speaker 1: But Turk can't be looking and fucking all these asses?
- 15:36Speaker 1: Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? If his
- 15:39Speaker 1: wife says and means it and isn't bullshitting if she
- 15:42Speaker 1: says honey, honestly, you're a man, and I don't find
- 15:46Speaker 1: it disrespectful. And I'm going to look at that ass too.
- 15:49Speaker 1: She's got a great ass. Whatever the whatever, whatever their
- 15:51Speaker 1: rules are, and it's honest. She's not just putting it
- 15:54Speaker 1: on to be to be cool, to be cool wife,
- 15:58Speaker 1: and there's communication. Okay. I'm just saying, if it's real,
- 16:02Speaker 1: if it's not just like she's like, oh, I don't
- 16:04Speaker 1: want to be like up tight. I'm gonna pretend like
- 16:05Speaker 1: I'm okay with it, but really I'm crying inside. I mean,
- 16:08Speaker 1: Turkey is like when she says go, he turns and
- 16:11Speaker 1: he just looks at the ass like this. I feel
- 16:13Speaker 1: like Turk and Carlin might be open for a little
- 16:16Speaker 1: you know. Uh, you know, we talked about it before.
- 16:19Speaker 1: You know, j D kind of thinks it's possible. I
- 16:22Speaker 1: think they're open to a little you know, Intermarrital. First
- 16:26Speaker 1: of all, I don't think. First of all, she goes
- 16:28Speaker 1: on a date. This was so weird, Like she goes
- 16:31Speaker 1: on a date and j D doesn't tell Turk either. Yes,
- 16:37Speaker 1: you would have, but he doesn't. In the show. I forgot.
- 16:41Speaker 1: I'm sorry I did. I brain farted on what your
- 16:43Speaker 1: what your reaction was when she finally reaction that they
- 16:46Speaker 1: give is not a reaction. They give JD's fantasy of
- 16:49Speaker 1: what's going to happen. Right, do you ever see what
- 16:52Speaker 1: really happens? Oh my god, how funny. By the way,
- 16:54Speaker 1: first of all, you'd be this age right now all,
- 16:57Speaker 1: you'd be in this age right already. Out I said this,
- 16:59Speaker 1: I just blew you out. Sorry, I said the same thing, dude.
- 17:01Speaker 1: First of all, the funniest part of the show, in
- 17:04Speaker 1: my mind is me as an old man, still living
- 17:06Speaker 1: with you and farting. And then I went I did
- 17:09Speaker 1: the math, and I'm like, that's that's me at forty five,
- 17:12Speaker 1: right right, right right right? That's how how trippy is
- 17:16Speaker 1: that to see yourself? I mean, this is an experience
- 17:19Speaker 1: most people on earth will never have, seeing how you
- 17:23Speaker 1: as a twenty five year old portrayed yourself at forty five,
- 17:28Speaker 1: and then going back at forty five and watching it.
- 17:32Speaker 1: I was old and bald and fat and farting and
- 17:35Speaker 1: farting and still living with my friends and very very
- 17:38Speaker 1: jewish and extra jewey, extra jewey, sorry, because I've got
- 17:43Speaker 1: nowhere else to go. I was like, I was like
- 17:46Speaker 1: a fucking Seinfeld character. Oh my god, I was very funny. Though.
- 17:56Speaker 1: That would have been great. There are certain things I
- 17:59Speaker 1: would he's had more of. I wish there was. I
- 18:01Speaker 1: wish Turk's moll puppet was a running gag, and I
- 18:05Speaker 1: certainly wish forty five but really seventy five year old
- 18:09Speaker 1: extra Jewey Zach was a character. I mean extra Joey
- 18:12Speaker 1: j D, Extra Jewey JD. Well, they they they overlap,
- 18:16Speaker 1: all right, Um, Jadie's nipples name is Jasper. I laughed
- 18:19Speaker 1: at that. JD loves to show his nipples. Right, you're right,
- 18:22Speaker 1: nipples name is Jasper. Yes, and you have one hair
- 18:25Speaker 1: named Clancy. So there's Jasper and Clancy. Well, the hair
- 18:28Speaker 1: is named Clancy, and the we don't get the left
- 18:31Speaker 1: nipple's name is no, I think it's the left. I
- 18:33Speaker 1: think it's my left. That's Jasper. Yeah, it's sure left,
- 18:37Speaker 1: that's Jasper. I'm sure it's on scrubs Wiki. You're right, now,
- 18:39Speaker 1: you're right, you're right, you're right right. But anyway, first
- 18:41Speaker 1: of all, in the spirit of sexual harassment at the workplace,
- 18:44Speaker 1: I mean, j D and Turk are just like really
- 18:47Speaker 1: not being subtle at all ogling this woman's tush. Yes
- 18:53Speaker 1: they are. And I got to ask you a question now,
- 18:56Speaker 1: because it's funny even in even in two thousand and
- 19:00Speaker 1: two or three, whenever we're making must have been three. Uh,
- 19:04Speaker 1: we seem to not be character we seem to not
- 19:08Speaker 1: be playing characters that were toning it down or I
- 19:10Speaker 1: don't know. It just seemed out of place. It was bizarre.
- 19:14Speaker 1: I gotta ask you, though, are you a ass man
- 19:16Speaker 1: or a breastman? Ass man times ten? Okay, So when
- 19:19Speaker 1: we first met, though, dude, you were a breastman. You
- 19:22Speaker 1: were all about tiny waists and big breast. Dude when
- 19:24Speaker 1: we never met that was of another friend. That was you. Dude.
- 19:27Speaker 1: You were like, it has to be I was like, well,
- 19:29Speaker 1: what about the big ass? You were like, it has
- 19:30Speaker 1: to be so tiny ass has to be. Maybe, oh
- 19:35Speaker 1: my god, we're gonna fight. Sorry, I don't mean yeah,
- 19:38Speaker 1: we're gonna fight. We're gonna be your appreci I'm not
- 19:41Speaker 1: saying that your appreciation for giant tushes. I don't like
- 19:45Speaker 1: JP off on me a little bit. I don't like fake,
- 19:47Speaker 1: I like giant. I don't like we both we both
- 19:50Speaker 1: have something in common that we like the real real.
- 19:53Speaker 1: I like the real, real, Yeah, I definitely didn't know
- 19:55Speaker 1: that ass implants were a thing until recently. I thought
- 19:58Speaker 1: that was a joke. It looks weird, and you got
- 20:00Speaker 1: this big, big, big, big like hump on your bet,
- 20:03Speaker 1: but and then like these real tiny legs, like if
- 20:06Speaker 1: it don't match the if the if the hamstring don't
- 20:10Speaker 1: match the booty, what's you're really doing? What's you're really
- 20:13Speaker 1: doing to each their russ If you're listening right now
- 20:18Speaker 1: and you're on the fence about whether they get the
- 20:20Speaker 1: ass implants, Donald and I are begging you not to
- 20:23Speaker 1: unless you got no ass. If you've got no ass,
- 20:26Speaker 1: can then do squats. Don't fucking put silicone in your touch.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Sometimes squats. Sometimes squats, okay, Daniel, Sometimes squats don't help though, Well,
- 20:36Speaker 1: I'm just I mean to each their own again, if
- 20:38Speaker 1: you're sitting there on a cushy ass implant, then Mozeltov,
- 20:42Speaker 1: I'm just saying, I personally would rather you did the squats.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Joel just over there sipping on hot tea. By the way,
- 20:51Speaker 1: someone runs something so funny on Twitter. They said rip
- 20:55Speaker 1: to Joel's UH search history. After last week's episode where
- 20:59Speaker 1: we made hers search for the amount of sperm that
- 21:03Speaker 1: are in each so practically no penis pill ads. Yet
- 21:07Speaker 1: this just you wait, Well, you were doing a service
- 21:11Speaker 1: for the American, well, for the for the for the Earth,
- 21:13Speaker 1: for the Earth, Earth, for Earth, Planet Earth. You're welcome,
- 21:17Speaker 1: You're welcome, You're well welcome. Isn't it funny when you
- 21:21Speaker 1: when you not funny but when you're like you Google
- 21:24Speaker 1: something and then you're on some other website and ads
- 21:27Speaker 1: for that thing come up, and you're like, what the fuck?
- 21:29Speaker 1: I just look for two seconds. I don't can and
- 21:31Speaker 1: doesn't need to be like pornographic. It's like, I'm not
- 21:34Speaker 1: that interested in in in iron shelving. I looked once. Yeah,
- 21:39Speaker 1: it's I looked at a knife online, like a cooking knife,
- 21:43Speaker 1: because you guys know, I'm so in the cooking a
- 21:45Speaker 1: chopping knife, and I looked into it because it's like
- 21:47Speaker 1: one of those big ones that you see on the
- 21:49Speaker 1: Food Network and stuff. Yeah, it won't stop showing up.
- 21:53Speaker 1: It just keeps showing up on my phone in every
- 21:56Speaker 1: ad that in every ad on any site that I
- 21:59Speaker 1: go to, YouTube, freaking Facebook, Twitter, well Twitter and half adge,
- 22:05Speaker 1: but um Instagram, it shows up. Yeah, they got you
- 22:10Speaker 1: Luckerberg's got you all right now. The Janitors whole storyline, yes,
- 22:15Speaker 1: is a big storyline is he has a twin brother
- 22:18Speaker 1: named Roscoe, and he's committed to tricking JD and Turk
- 22:21Speaker 1: that he I mean, does this guy have any of
- 22:24Speaker 1: work to do. He's the entire time trying to convince
- 22:30Speaker 1: us that he has a twin brother. But and and
- 22:32Speaker 1: and he goes through like outrageous feats to his theory.
- 22:38Speaker 1: He enlists Troy, right, he lists Troy. He jumps out
- 22:43Speaker 1: of a window, a one story window. He jumps from
- 22:46Speaker 1: the second story to the top of the first story
- 22:50Speaker 1: roof and then onto an ambulance and then onto an
- 22:52Speaker 1: ambulance and then falls off the ambulance because the ambulance
- 22:55Speaker 1: gets a call so they speed off. He falls onto
- 22:58Speaker 1: the ground. I mean, this guy really, really, really really
- 23:02Speaker 1: was committed to trick. He made a video yes with
- 23:05Speaker 1: Troy for the birthday for the two of them, for
- 23:10Speaker 1: the twin birthday party. Twin birthday party. This episode was
- 23:15Speaker 1: so silly, I mean, and he goes, take your time
- 23:17Speaker 1: to look at this and runs around, Yeah, and then
- 23:22Speaker 1: the other gen comes in and it's got nail polish
- 23:24Speaker 1: on the other hand, But then when he walks in,
- 23:27Speaker 1: he goes walking slowly. Yeah. Yeah, what was the woman's
- 23:31Speaker 1: name on his in his and his brain trust? Do
- 23:35Speaker 1: you remember her? It must have been crazy eyed Margo.
- 23:39Speaker 1: It must have been her hand, crazy eyed Margo memory.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Someone wrote on Twitter. I sat. Someone wrote on Instagram
- 23:47Speaker 1: or Twitter about you. It was funny. They said. There's
- 23:49Speaker 1: definitely a Goldilocked sweet spot for how high Donald should be.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Sometimes it's too little, sometimes it's too much, right, Sometimes
- 23:56Speaker 1: I get too far gone. Yeah, I'm like, holy shit,
- 24:00Speaker 1: I was high in that episode. Yeah. And then there's
- 24:02Speaker 1: sometimes where I was like, I probably should have smoked
- 24:03Speaker 1: weed in that episode. Yeah. I just love that someone
- 24:06Speaker 1: compared you to Goldilocks's like, that's that's that's that porridge,
- 24:09Speaker 1: that that weed is not enough, that weed is too much,
- 24:11Speaker 1: that weed, that's just right. Um, why don't we go
- 24:17Speaker 1: to break, right, chel We're gonna go break, and when
- 24:19Speaker 1: we come right back, we're gonna talk about firm like Mutton,
- 24:22Speaker 1: the second time that an assid has been compared to
- 24:24Speaker 1: Mutton in Scrubs. We'll be right back and we're back, okay,
- 24:39Speaker 1: all right, And I have a question, why why why?
- 24:42Speaker 1: First of all? Why that why? Why? I don't know.
- 24:44Speaker 1: It came to my mind when you did that noise? Okay,
- 24:47Speaker 1: second of the second, second second of all? Um, I
- 24:54Speaker 1: thought Elliott had gotten past this look. I thought we
- 24:57Speaker 1: were moving past this look at this point, aren't we? No,
- 25:00Speaker 1: she does this rock her hair for like? I think
- 25:02Speaker 1: the whole season really okay? Yeah, I think the season
- 25:05Speaker 1: three was Elliott rock her hair. Okay, the whole season. Yeah,
- 25:09Speaker 1: I'm sad about it too. And the whole season and
- 25:11Speaker 1: then and season three ends with us getting with Carla
- 25:15Speaker 1: and Turk getting married. Right, I don't know, boilers, Oh,
- 25:19Speaker 1: Joel says, yes, I can. Look. I have it in
- 25:22Speaker 1: front of me here, what Joel, you're looking? Yes, I'm
- 25:25Speaker 1: looking right here? Do you want to know what's coming up?
- 25:27Speaker 1: We have? Oh, we have his story. I think this
- 25:33Speaker 1: must be when you narrate. Oh shucks, it is either
- 25:36Speaker 1: mea John c. McGinley. No, it says you. Turk has
- 25:39Speaker 1: hesitations about whether or not to mail his wedding invitations.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Oh shit, yep. And then we have Scott Foley coming back,
- 25:47Speaker 1: um for I mean, we haven't booke him on the episode,
- 25:49Speaker 1: but Connecticut's favorite Scott Foley. Yeah, and then we have
- 25:53Speaker 1: Richard Kine's episode, and yeah, it ends with Carla and
- 25:58Speaker 1: Turk getting married with George. Somebody's gonna ask you that's
- 26:06Speaker 1: that Just that line alone in that song. I don't
- 26:08Speaker 1: even know the song, but just that line alone. Classic.
- 26:12Speaker 1: So the sixth member of the cast of Spin City
- 26:15Speaker 1: joins this Alexander Chaplin. Now we call him Sandy. I'm
- 26:19Speaker 1: Sandy Forever. We went to theater camp together, which sounds
- 26:22Speaker 1: like a joke from Scrubs, but is true. We went
- 26:24Speaker 1: to a theater camp called Stage Door Manner together. And
- 26:27Speaker 1: he is related to say it, tell it. There's a
- 26:30Speaker 1: reason why his name is Chapman. No, Chaplain, He's not
- 26:34Speaker 1: related to Chaplain. His father in law is how Prince
- 26:39Speaker 1: the most celebrated was under the impression that Sandy was
- 26:42Speaker 1: was related to Charlie Chaplin. No, you can, let's look up.
- 26:48Speaker 1: I would know that. I would. Let's look this up.
- 26:51Speaker 1: But his father, somebody, you know, told me this. David
- 26:53Speaker 1: alan Base told me this. So I'm gonna put Dave
- 26:55Speaker 1: David alan Base on I don't think so. I feel
- 27:00Speaker 1: like I would know that tidbit about him because I
- 27:03Speaker 1: know him and he's a very very sweet man and
- 27:05Speaker 1: a wonderful actor. And do you know what film he
- 27:08Speaker 1: was in that was really where where his acting was
- 27:10Speaker 1: really incredible. I wish I was here. M hm do
- 27:16Speaker 1: you remember that Donald? Isn't that he plays the young rabbi? Uh?
- 27:24Speaker 1: Do you remember that Donald? Oh? Yeah, that's right? And
- 27:32Speaker 1: the plant and something about the plant. Right. He is
- 27:35Speaker 1: a great actor, I think, very very amazing actor. I
- 27:38Speaker 1: think it's very underused. I mean, the guy should have
- 27:41Speaker 1: his own show. At this moment where he explodes on
- 27:43Speaker 1: Elliott over over trying to get pain medication out of her,
- 27:47Speaker 1: I mean it was just like it was just like
- 27:49Speaker 1: a quick, little three sentence monologue and he fucking killed it.
- 27:52Speaker 1: He's so talented. He's very talented and very funny. Also,
- 27:56Speaker 1: he's very funny. He can also has a beautiful voice. Um,
- 28:00Speaker 1: I love this man. I wish I wish that I
- 28:02Speaker 1: saw him more. We gotta, we gotta, we gotta. If
- 28:05Speaker 1: you're out there and you're a casting director, you gotta
- 28:07Speaker 1: book Alexander Chaplin because he is a talented fellow. Yeah
- 28:12Speaker 1: he is. Um, just give me a second. I'm still looking.
- 28:15Speaker 1: I think Joe Welle is doing the work for me. Yeah,
- 28:17Speaker 1: they're not related, and it doesn't even look like that.
- 28:20Speaker 1: Maybe his original last name. It says that he adapted
- 28:22Speaker 1: it when yeahs he got married according to their Wikipedia page. Yeah,
- 28:26Speaker 1: do talk about stage door manor though Zach. Yeah, does
- 28:28Speaker 1: it say that he's his father in law's hel Prince?
- 28:31Speaker 1: It does? There you go, wow, he is he is
- 28:37Speaker 1: very Look, he's one of those people where you're like, dude,
- 28:39Speaker 1: he should be working way more. I agree, This is
- 28:42Speaker 1: why I tell people and not that. And Sandy's had
- 28:44Speaker 1: a great career. He's been on Spin City, He's been
- 28:46Speaker 1: on lots of shows. He's a working actor. But I
- 28:48Speaker 1: do have to say when people go, when people talk
- 28:50Speaker 1: about becoming actors, I go, there are people like Sandy
- 28:54Speaker 1: Slash Alexander Chaplin that are so good and handsome, and
- 28:59Speaker 1: you're like, why is this guy not a household name?
- 29:03Speaker 1: I mean, that's it's it's humbling because you go, That's
- 29:07Speaker 1: why I always talk about it all being a lottery,
- 29:08Speaker 1: like the fact that that guy never had his own
- 29:12Speaker 1: show or has he yet to have his own show.
- 29:15Speaker 1: I just can't believe it, because he can do everything,
- 29:18Speaker 1: and he's and he's charming, and anyway I cast him,
- 29:21Speaker 1: I'll continue to cast him. It's crazy how that is, though,
- 29:24Speaker 1: because you meet a lot of those people in Hollywood
- 29:27Speaker 1: as you go through the as you go, you know,
- 29:30Speaker 1: as you climb the ranks, and as you fall down
- 29:33Speaker 1: the ranks, you know what I mean, as you as
- 29:34Speaker 1: you fall, you meet a lot of the same type
- 29:38Speaker 1: of people who are running the same type of race
- 29:41Speaker 1: that you are. Man, this thing really is like it.
- 29:44Speaker 1: I remember when I lived in New York, we used
- 29:46Speaker 1: to look at this thing, look at the acting game
- 29:48Speaker 1: as the trenches, because like your best friend all of
- 29:51Speaker 1: a sudden as your enemy the minute you walk into
- 29:53Speaker 1: an audition space, because you're all competing for a job,
- 29:56Speaker 1: and you know you're absolutely right. He's one of the
- 30:00Speaker 1: people that you watch and you're like wow, even as
- 30:02Speaker 1: an actor, when you look at them, you're like, this person,
- 30:06Speaker 1: there's something something's wrong if this person's not doing it right.
- 30:09Speaker 1: And it's like why, like why, I mean other than
- 30:11Speaker 1: just the lottery of of of the way the chips fall,
- 30:15Speaker 1: I don't know see why. I mean, Donald and I
- 30:16Speaker 1: both won't you know, can can name privately actors that
- 30:21Speaker 1: are hugely successful and totally cut together in the edit room,
- 30:24Speaker 1: and they owe their career to an editor and a director.
- 30:27Speaker 1: And then there's people like Sandy Chaplin, who, like I
- 30:32Speaker 1: directed him in which I was here, there's not a
- 30:33Speaker 1: single take he did I couldn't I couldn't use in
- 30:36Speaker 1: the film. He's right that him yelling at Elliott is
- 30:39Speaker 1: also just on him. It never cuts to her reaction
- 30:42Speaker 1: until after he's done. So you see the you see
- 30:45Speaker 1: him smiling, and then the ramp and the and the
- 30:48Speaker 1: it's really it's and then he quickly turns a joke
- 30:51Speaker 1: and then right and then right it comes back. I
- 30:55Speaker 1: think he recurs a few times. Bill loves the same character. Yeah,
- 30:58Speaker 1: Bill loves him too. Um So, all right, there's our
- 31:00Speaker 1: there's our monologue about how much we love Alexander Chaplin
- 31:03Speaker 1: and and again, sorry shameless plug, if you still haven't
- 31:07Speaker 1: seen Wish I Was Here, please check it out. And
- 31:09Speaker 1: he's really good in that. He's I play a guy
- 31:11Speaker 1: who's so not into his religion and he's secular and
- 31:14Speaker 1: was raised Orthodox, and and he befriends this younger rabbi
- 31:18Speaker 1: who's sort of you know, shows him that there's a
- 31:21Speaker 1: way to be religious without being the religious ways his
- 31:25Speaker 1: parents were and and and so he finds his own
- 31:28Speaker 1: unique way to connect to spirituality. He's sort of the
- 31:31Speaker 1: rabbi I always wished i'd met. I wish I'd met
- 31:33Speaker 1: a rabbi who who? Who? Who taught me a way
- 31:37Speaker 1: to be spiritual without the strict dogma that I was
- 31:40Speaker 1: sort of had forced upon me as a child. I
- 31:43Speaker 1: have a question for you. Go ahead, And this is hypothetical,
- 31:49Speaker 1: and so I don't want to just change. I don't
- 31:51Speaker 1: want to. I don't want to be because I think
- 31:55Speaker 1: everybody did a great job and wish I was here
- 31:56Speaker 1: and everything like that. But if Natalie Portman would have
- 31:58Speaker 1: played your wife in that movie, do you have made
- 32:00Speaker 1: it the sequel to to uh Garden State State? No? No, No,
- 32:09Speaker 1: I don't think so. I I see how they are
- 32:11Speaker 1: there's they're sort of cousins of each other. But um,
- 32:16Speaker 1: I think I didn't want to go anywhere near Garden State.
- 32:18Speaker 1: I mean, obviously I I it's coming out of my
- 32:21Speaker 1: brain and in this case, and wish I was here's
- 32:24Speaker 1: the case my brother Adam as well. But so they're
- 32:26Speaker 1: all gonna, you know, have a piece of me. And
- 32:29Speaker 1: in fact, the new script is funny someone someone I
- 32:32Speaker 1: know and love and trust read it and I said,
- 32:34Speaker 1: this is the first thing I've written that really isn't
- 32:35Speaker 1: about me. And they read it and laughed. They said,
- 32:37Speaker 1: do you think this isn't about you? I mean, it's
- 32:39Speaker 1: not about a struggling artist, a guy from Jersey, but
- 32:43Speaker 1: it is so much of who I am in it.
- 32:46Speaker 1: I think that that's just, you know, that's what comes
- 32:48Speaker 1: out of me when I when I write. So I
- 32:49Speaker 1: think I see how they're cousins of each other, but
- 32:52Speaker 1: I didn't. I didn't see Kate's character having anything to
- 32:55Speaker 1: do with with Natalie's character. Would you ever consider revisiting that?
- 33:00Speaker 1: I'd love to work with Natalie again. I don't want
- 33:02Speaker 1: to do like I've had so many opportunities to do
- 33:05Speaker 1: incarnations of Garden State, I don't. I just kind of
- 33:07Speaker 1: want to leave. Would you ever want to put this
- 33:10Speaker 1: cast back to you? Like? This is what I don't understand,
- 33:12Speaker 1: This is what I don't understand. It's certain and some
- 33:14Speaker 1: directors do it, and then other directors don't do it,
- 33:16Speaker 1: and I don't understand that. And sometimes it really upsets
- 33:19Speaker 1: me because you meet certain directors and you're like, I
- 33:22Speaker 1: want to work with this person forever and then you
- 33:24Speaker 1: never work with that person again. But like Scorsese, he's
- 33:27Speaker 1: one of those people where if he loves you, you're
- 33:29Speaker 1: in everything. He's gonna do same thing with Oliver Stone,
- 33:31Speaker 1: you know what I mean. I don't understand why people
- 33:34Speaker 1: don't take something that was successful like Garden State and
- 33:38Speaker 1: bring the entire cast back together, same writer, same director,
- 33:43Speaker 1: same everything, and create something different. If it all worked
- 33:47Speaker 1: the first time, why would it be different the second time.
- 33:51Speaker 1: That's a great point, But you'd have to write something
- 33:54Speaker 1: that would be perfect for all those people again, you know,
- 33:58Speaker 1: but you already kind of know what it is because
- 34:00Speaker 1: you did it the first time. No, all right, if
- 34:02Speaker 1: I just stick to the blueprint, the blueprint says this
- 34:06Speaker 1: is gonna work. This is something that rappers do all
- 34:08Speaker 1: the time, all right. The blueprint says this is gonna work.
- 34:11Speaker 1: This is something that artists do all the time. The
- 34:13Speaker 1: blueprint says this is gonna work. And it does pretty
- 34:17Speaker 1: much every time, pretty much every time. If if a
- 34:22Speaker 1: maybe in the rap world, but not not in the film.
- 34:25Speaker 1: There's plenty of people trying to recreate the magic. Look,
- 34:27Speaker 1: it's the whole world of sequels. I mean, how many
- 34:30Speaker 1: sequels are good. That's you're you're absolutely right when it
- 34:34Speaker 1: comes to sequels. But the equal is exactly what you're saying. Well, no,
- 34:40Speaker 1: not really, because when it's the sequel, you want something different.
- 34:44Speaker 1: That's the that's the only thing that's the that's the
- 34:46Speaker 1: that's the difference between the sequel and what the formula is.
- 34:50Speaker 1: The formula works every time. The sequel can't be the
- 34:53Speaker 1: formula again, that's the rule. Man, it can't be all right,
- 34:57Speaker 1: I made Star Wars, so the next one has to
- 34:59Speaker 1: be Star Wars. They made Star Wars, and the next
- 35:01Speaker 1: one was Empire Strikes Back. And that's why this is
- 35:04Speaker 1: the challenge though, and and I hear, here's how I'll
- 35:06Speaker 1: address it in the way that what I experienced is
- 35:09Speaker 1: it took me a long time to make another film
- 35:11Speaker 1: after Garden State, and when I and and I didn't.
- 35:15Speaker 1: You know, it's the classic sophomore effort. And I think
- 35:18Speaker 1: artists of all types feel this is. Of course, I
- 35:21Speaker 1: want the audience to come back for what they loved.
- 35:24Speaker 1: But I don't want to repeat myself. You know, it's
- 35:27Speaker 1: the class any any musician with their sophomore album would
- 35:29Speaker 1: say the same thing. I want I want everyone to
- 35:32Speaker 1: come back into the tent, but I don't want everyone
- 35:34Speaker 1: to think I'm just biting myself. So you're trying to say,
- 35:38Speaker 1: here's something in the spirit of what you liked, but
- 35:41Speaker 1: I'm also going to tiptoe us over here. Now that'll
- 35:43Speaker 1: either work or won't. Sometimes they won't like the tiptoe
- 35:47Speaker 1: and they'll be like, where the fun Like, for example,
- 35:48Speaker 1: I wish I was here doesn't really have a love story. Um,
- 35:52Speaker 1: you know, there's it's a couple that's that's that that
- 35:54Speaker 1: loves each other and they're going through a tough time
- 35:55Speaker 1: and there's a chance that there's a chance they might
- 35:58Speaker 1: break up. But at the center of it isn't a
- 36:00Speaker 1: love story, right, So people that are so related to
- 36:02Speaker 1: a love story, we're like, oh, it's a Zach Braff
- 36:05Speaker 1: movie and it's got, it's got it's got a vibe,
- 36:07Speaker 1: and it's got music, and it's got it's kind of
- 36:08Speaker 1: great actors I love. And then when they saw that
- 36:11Speaker 1: there was no will they or won't they love story?
- 36:13Speaker 1: I think were I suspect we're disappointed by that. So
- 36:17Speaker 1: it's always a challenge to go I want to, I
- 36:20Speaker 1: want to, I pray you all come back into the tent.
- 36:23Speaker 1: But I also want to kind of do something different together, right,
- 36:27Speaker 1: no doubt, No, No, I totally understand what you're saying.
- 36:30Speaker 1: I totally get what you're saying. But that makes me wonder.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Then Scorsese has figured out his formula. It seems like, yeah,
- 36:37Speaker 1: he makes really good gritty movies, you know what I mean.
- 36:42Speaker 1: But Scorsese always delivers. He's going you're gonna see guns,
- 36:45Speaker 1: You're going to see criminal activity, you're gonna see you're
- 36:49Speaker 1: going to see amazing cinematography. You're always going to see
- 36:52Speaker 1: the top actors in the world. He does. The Rodriguez
- 36:56Speaker 1: is another one that's done. That's my point. They're y
- 37:00Speaker 1: there are like a handful of directors that have done that. Tarantino.
- 37:04Speaker 1: You know what you're going to see when you see
- 37:06Speaker 1: a Tarantino movie. Yeah, and Tarantino's done it in a
- 37:08Speaker 1: genius way that even more than anyone that they I
- 37:11Speaker 1: think they are so specifically Tarantino films, but they're all
- 37:16Speaker 1: over the place, in there, in there, in there in
- 37:18Speaker 1: what they're about. So then what's wrong with you doing that?
- 37:21Speaker 1: What's wrong with you doing is as good a writer
- 37:25Speaker 1: or as prolific a writer. But Zack garden State is
- 37:28Speaker 1: fucking fire, dude, regardless of what you want to say,
- 37:30Speaker 1: and regardless of what you want to say about wish
- 37:32Speaker 1: I was here, that's fire dude. It's a great story,
- 37:37Speaker 1: you know what I mean. And it touches something that
- 37:39Speaker 1: you don't see in a lot of movies. You don't
- 37:41Speaker 1: see a lot of people. Thank you. I think. I
- 37:44Speaker 1: think what I do, that is what I write, probably
- 37:48Speaker 1: has a smaller audience, but it can grow. But that's fine. Grow,
- 37:52Speaker 1: that's fine. I don't need to be you two the
- 37:56Speaker 1: band that came to my mind first. Um, I can
- 37:59Speaker 1: be a smaller act at a smaller venue, but there
- 38:02Speaker 1: definitely there clearly is an audience for it. Um. But
- 38:05Speaker 1: you know I'm not I'm content not being as as
- 38:08Speaker 1: hugely successful as Tarantino. My point is not just for you,
- 38:12Speaker 1: this is for everybody. It's all right to do what
- 38:15Speaker 1: you do. There's nothing wrong with doing what you do.
- 38:17Speaker 1: Nobody does you better than you. Yeah, I agree, no
- 38:20Speaker 1: matter what you're, no matter what you're, no matter what
- 38:23Speaker 1: your art is. I believe that. And also what comes
- 38:25Speaker 1: out of you at the time is the art that
- 38:28Speaker 1: you have to contribute to the world. I always go
- 38:31Speaker 1: back to Justin m from bonnever saying to me about
- 38:36Speaker 1: I think I sold the story on the show that
- 38:38Speaker 1: he said, I try to give him a note on
- 38:40Speaker 1: the song for which I was here, and he said,
- 38:42Speaker 1: that's what came out of me when I saw the film.
- 38:45Speaker 1: And so I don't apologize at all for the stuff
- 38:49Speaker 1: I make, whether when sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't,
- 38:51Speaker 1: because it's what came out of me at the time.
- 38:53Speaker 1: It's what I had to say, and hopefully some people
- 38:56Speaker 1: liked it. Right speaking, if that's very difficult to be
- 39:00Speaker 1: on that page, because then that goes against everything that
- 39:03Speaker 1: I was just talking about, where the formula always works.
- 39:06Speaker 1: If you're on that this is what I expressed at
- 39:09Speaker 1: that moment. That's that's the only thing. That's the only
- 39:14Speaker 1: thing I can do. I think I don't know how
- 39:15Speaker 1: to I don't know. I mean, I have yet to
- 39:18Speaker 1: know how to write something. And that's not like a
- 39:21Speaker 1: an order for me to get in a chair and
- 39:23Speaker 1: spend that much time and commitment. And I need to
- 39:26Speaker 1: tap into like what I feel as a human being.
- 39:31Speaker 1: I yet to be able to be like, oh my god,
- 39:33Speaker 1: I have a great submarine movie idea. And it's not
- 39:36Speaker 1: to say, it's not to say, it's not to say
- 39:38Speaker 1: that I don't have an occasional good submarine movie idea,
- 39:41Speaker 1: but I wouldn't have the commitment to sit down and
- 39:43Speaker 1: and and put the time in to do it in
- 39:46Speaker 1: order for me to fucking do the thing that we
- 39:49Speaker 1: writers do, which is stare at the blinking cursor alone
- 39:52Speaker 1: wishing you were doing anything else. I need to I
- 39:55Speaker 1: need to feel like it's coming out of my fucking body.
- 40:00Speaker 1: That's your formula. Yeah, My formula is to um, is
- 40:04Speaker 1: to tap into my own psyche and my own um,
- 40:09Speaker 1: the things that make me joyous and the things that
- 40:11Speaker 1: made me depressed and and uh and craft. Well it shows.
- 40:15Speaker 1: It shows in your movies, man, because after walking out
- 40:18Speaker 1: of Wish I was here, I think everybody was like, fuck,
- 40:21Speaker 1: I'm depressed, dude. Come on, it's not. There's hope at
- 40:25Speaker 1: the end. There's very little. That ship. That family is
- 40:29Speaker 1: so fucked man, Oh my god. Not at the end
- 40:32Speaker 1: they're happy. Yeah, well they're happy because they freaking the
- 40:36Speaker 1: bully died, you know what, and he no spoilers, but
- 40:41Speaker 1: he definitely begins a new chapter of his life and
- 40:43Speaker 1: he seems like he's content in the end and the
- 40:46Speaker 1: very end, in the very very I love the movie, dude.
- 40:49Speaker 1: I'm just telling you, man that that family is that's
- 40:52Speaker 1: a very and and what's crazy about it is that's
- 40:54Speaker 1: the truth. Though. That was a truth and it's not
- 40:58Speaker 1: a wrap this up with a big Hollywood boo. I
- 41:00Speaker 1: don't want to make that ship. There's plenty of people
- 41:03Speaker 1: making that shit. I want to make the real real.
- 41:05Speaker 1: I want to make you know you and your wife
- 41:07Speaker 1: can have an all out fucking battle and yeah, you
- 41:10Speaker 1: love each other, and yeah you will do anything for
- 41:13Speaker 1: each other. But in the back of your mind, you're like,
- 41:15Speaker 1: is this gonna fucking last forever? Like, I don't know.
- 41:19Speaker 1: I want to make that movie. I don't want to
- 41:21Speaker 1: make the I lift her up and we hug on
- 41:22Speaker 1: the beach bullshit. There's plenty of people doing that. That
- 41:25Speaker 1: feels good though, too, keep me one hundred. Yeah, but
- 41:29Speaker 1: there's but there's plenty of people doing that. There's plenty
- 41:31Speaker 1: of I'd rather I'd rather tell it on a story
- 41:33Speaker 1: about a couple that hopes they're gonna make it. Yeah,
- 41:36Speaker 1: that's the truth, because that that is the truth, man,
- 41:39Speaker 1: That's what that's what really, you know, when you walk
- 41:42Speaker 1: out of a wish I was here, and I'm fucking
- 41:44Speaker 1: totally you know, I'd totally sound like your best friend
- 41:47Speaker 1: who's so totally proud of you. But it's like when
- 41:49Speaker 1: you walk out of that movie, regardless of who you are,
- 41:52Speaker 1: where you are, or what you're doing, if if, if
- 41:55Speaker 1: you don't, if you don't feel like shit, damn man,
- 41:58Speaker 1: I'm happy. I'm not that right now. Yeah, not them
- 42:03Speaker 1: right now. I just want to aspire. I aspire to
- 42:06Speaker 1: make you watch something that makes you talk about it,
- 42:08Speaker 1: like you know, when you can see a movie and
- 42:10Speaker 1: then by the time you get to your car, you're like,
- 42:11Speaker 1: should we get desserved? Like I mean in normal times?
- 42:14Speaker 1: Should we? Uh? And just it's gone, It's gone, like
- 42:16Speaker 1: you had cotton candy. Right. I'd rather be like, yo,
- 42:20Speaker 1: you remember to part yeah, of course, and be like
- 42:23Speaker 1: even even by the way, even if you're like I
- 42:26Speaker 1: fucking hated the way he wrote that one character, like
- 42:28Speaker 1: even I just want you by I'm fine to be polarizing.
- 42:33Speaker 1: I want your passion right right, that's what's up. I
- 42:37Speaker 1: want talk about the shrubs. Why don't we, Joel, why
- 42:40Speaker 1: don't we invite the guests after a break. We'll be
- 42:43Speaker 1: right back after these fine words. And we're Badgle gargo, gargo. Okay, Um,
- 42:57Speaker 1: here's where are we going? When we see the janitor
- 43:01Speaker 1: after he falls off the ambulance, I thought we were
- 43:03Speaker 1: going to play basketball. The basketball hoops behind us. I'm
- 43:06Speaker 1: with you, dude. I think that the director was assuming
- 43:09Speaker 1: that the audience doesn't know the geography of our parking lot. Well,
- 43:12Speaker 1: this was written by rich Estes Does that I say
- 43:15Speaker 1: his name? I don't know who's written by? On me? Look, um,
- 43:20Speaker 1: this was written by Oh, I don't know who rich
- 43:24Speaker 1: Eustace is. He wasn't a regular staff writer. I'm not
- 43:28Speaker 1: sure what the story with rich Eustace is. And then
- 43:30Speaker 1: who directed it? Maybe Gail Mancuso directed it. Oh Gail,
- 43:34Speaker 1: you love Gail. We do love Gail. Love Gail Um.
- 43:37Speaker 1: Gail Um has won many an Emmy, I think for
- 43:40Speaker 1: directing modern family. She does that is she Um does it?
- 43:46Speaker 1: She does it right, She's great. Um. I once Um
- 43:51Speaker 1: texted Gail to have her direct Alex inc. And she
- 43:56Speaker 1: didn't reply to me. Now I don't know if I
- 43:58Speaker 1: had the wrong cell phone this many years later, but
- 44:01Speaker 1: I to this day, I'm harboring. Um, I'm sure you
- 44:05Speaker 1: have a listener in your life, someone that never replied
- 44:09Speaker 1: and you're like, do I have a wrong number? Or
- 44:12Speaker 1: did they ghost me? And I feel that way and
- 44:15Speaker 1: I'm like and I'm like, no, Gail loved me. It's
- 44:18Speaker 1: not like we have beef or anything. Why would she
- 44:20Speaker 1: ignore me? Oh, I have a bunch of people that
- 44:22Speaker 1: I'm like that with. Man, it's ridiculous where it's like
- 44:25Speaker 1: I text them and then they never text me back. Yeah,
- 44:28Speaker 1: it's weird though, man, But but do you have people
- 44:31Speaker 1: in your phone? Like, let's say someone hits you up
- 44:33Speaker 1: right and they're not in your noting mean, it's not
- 44:35Speaker 1: someone in your clothes circle. It's it's like a outer
- 44:38Speaker 1: ring friend and you're not dissing them. Yeah, you'll get
- 44:40Speaker 1: back to them. They're cool, but you're not gonna do
- 44:42Speaker 1: it right now because you're in the middle something. And
- 44:43Speaker 1: then you forget. Yeah all the time. Of course, So
- 44:47Speaker 1: sometimes because of my neurosis, I'll go back and go,
- 44:49Speaker 1: oh fuck, I never applied to so and so it
- 44:52Speaker 1: just happens too often with me. You know, you're a
- 44:54Speaker 1: stoner too, so it must happen more because of the
- 44:56Speaker 1: amount of ganja. All right, Now, I laughed hard at
- 45:01Speaker 1: my character getting attacked for hitting on a woman in
- 45:04Speaker 1: the elevator. Now, I think she overreacted a bit, just
- 45:12Speaker 1: a little bit, because that's a sault. Yeah, she assaulted
- 45:15Speaker 1: me because all you said, I didn't. I used a
- 45:18Speaker 1: bad pickup line and she beats the shit out of me.
- 45:21Speaker 1: But it's hilarious and I'm sure there's a lot of
- 45:23Speaker 1: women out there who watched that being like, yeah, that's
- 45:25Speaker 1: what you want to do sometimes when a guy's hitting
- 45:27Speaker 1: on you in an element, that's what you get, Okay. Uh,
- 45:32Speaker 1: Carla ripping the condom open with her teeth kind of
- 45:36Speaker 1: gave me movement. I don't know why. Really, there was
- 45:38Speaker 1: a bit of a like a there was a shift,
- 45:40Speaker 1: he felt a jiggle. It was, yeah, there was a
- 45:42Speaker 1: little bit of a yeah, although you probably don't have
- 45:45Speaker 1: a light jiggle like I feel like when you have movement,
- 45:47Speaker 1: it's like like what you know, like when they make
- 45:49Speaker 1: the sound effect of a giant boat moving, it's like
- 45:52Speaker 1: a yeah, you know when they do like the underwater
- 45:58Speaker 1: shot of like their aircraft carrier turning and the like.
- 46:02Speaker 1: We had a turn turn, turn, and they cut underwater
- 46:04Speaker 1: and then you hear the boat like, yeah, like a
- 46:08Speaker 1: big streaky turn. Yeah, yeah, that's what I feel like.
- 46:13Speaker 1: It sounds like when your penis shifts, all right, Carla,
- 46:17Speaker 1: Carla going on a date was just I had trouble
- 46:20Speaker 1: with that. I like, I did never do that. It
- 46:23Speaker 1: felt so duplicitous. And and the fact that she made
- 46:27Speaker 1: JD hold the secret. That's where I had a problem.
- 46:30Speaker 1: I didn't have a problem with her going on to
- 46:32Speaker 1: date because that can happen. That could happen where. But
- 46:35Speaker 1: the fact that JD was there when it happened, and
- 46:37Speaker 1: she said yes, and then she was like, yo, if
- 46:39Speaker 1: you tell on me, these beads mean nothing. That was like, wait,
- 46:43Speaker 1: hold on, yeah, I don't know if y'all know how
- 46:46Speaker 1: this works, but its bros. Before holdesb that's real talk,
- 46:49Speaker 1: be real, real fucking talk. Would you say Casey said
- 46:53Speaker 1: to me, I'm gonna go on a date before Donald
- 46:55Speaker 1: and I fuck out of here. If you don't tell me, dog,
- 46:58Speaker 1: that's a rap. B we really are friends. You might
- 47:02Speaker 1: as well fuck Casey. Dude. You might as well fuck
- 47:04Speaker 1: Casey if she says yo, n it is not bad, dude.
- 47:09Speaker 1: If Casey said to you, let's let's put it this way.
- 47:14Speaker 1: Hold on, hold on, let me finish. Were hanging out, right, you,
- 47:18Speaker 1: you and my wife are friends. And I'm like, I
- 47:20Speaker 1: don't give I'm not threatened by this situation. You guys
- 47:22Speaker 1: are you guys are best friend. It doesn't mean I
- 47:25Speaker 1: encourage this because of my relationship with you, Zach. You
- 47:29Speaker 1: two hang out. So you two are hanging out. You
- 47:31Speaker 1: go out one night and she runs into I don't know,
- 47:34Speaker 1: let's say, Brad Pitt. That's somebody she talks about a lot.
- 47:38Speaker 1: And Brad Pitt says to her, oh my god, I
- 47:41Speaker 1: was a huge fan of the newly Weds. You used
- 47:45Speaker 1: to make me laugh all the time. Um, And Casey
- 47:50Speaker 1: was like, oh my god, I'm a fan of your stuff.
- 47:52Speaker 1: And they're just having them having a cute little meat
- 47:54Speaker 1: cute right. And then at the end of it, Brad goes,
- 47:58Speaker 1: I would love to pick this up some other time.
- 48:02Speaker 1: Case Oh, Casey or Casey, what a horrible position. What's
- 48:06Speaker 1: your number? I'll give you a call. Maybe we can
- 48:09Speaker 1: go out to some other time. And she's like, blah
- 48:11Speaker 1: blah blah, uh uh one, just keep dialing five and
- 48:22Speaker 1: you didn't tell me. Of course I would tell you,
- 48:24Speaker 1: And no, I'm talking about about the show. Yeah, and
- 48:28Speaker 1: you didn't tell me. You might as well, fuck Casey,
- 48:31Speaker 1: you might as well. I don't agree that. I don't
- 48:33Speaker 1: agree that those two are equal. Um me not telling
- 48:36Speaker 1: you she want to do with Brad. She goes the
- 48:37Speaker 1: day with Brad Pitt. She gonna leave me for Brad Pitt. Dude,
- 48:40Speaker 1: She's gonna be like by Rocco, Bye Wilder, Bye Donald,
- 48:43Speaker 1: it is Brad all day. Well be a mistake for her,
- 48:46Speaker 1: wouldn't it because Brad pitts we might have to cut this. No,
- 48:51Speaker 1: the Brad Pitt for example, because every woman who's straight
- 48:54Speaker 1: listening is like, yeah, I get it. That would be
- 48:56Speaker 1: a conundrum, And every guy who's gay listening is like, yeah,
- 48:59Speaker 1: I get it. That would you can under him? And
- 49:01Speaker 1: every guy whose Kinsey scale allows right now, I was thinking, like, yeah,
- 49:04Speaker 1: I get it, that might be a problem. You know
- 49:06Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Joel, y'all, Yes, yes, absolute Brad Pitt.
- 49:12Speaker 1: If Brad Pitt is like, yeah, you hang out, you
- 49:14Speaker 1: gotta look at your pridner and be like yo, baby
- 49:16Speaker 1: pass no, no, But I'll try to tell you I
- 49:19Speaker 1: want to perhaps I don't believe it. Let's make it work.
- 49:22Speaker 1: I don't believe in that. I think that's just the
- 49:23Speaker 1: game couple's play. I don't think this show is all
- 49:26Speaker 1: about this episode is all about that though, Man a
- 49:29Speaker 1: hall pass dude, if you if if the fact that
- 49:32Speaker 1: j D didn't tell Turk is some bullshit right, agree with?
- 49:37Speaker 1: That doesn't make any sense? Whatso I didn't write it Donald.
- 49:40Speaker 1: They the writers needed to find some drama, so they
- 49:43Speaker 1: created the drama. But that's made up drama. Man, Come on, man,
- 49:46Speaker 1: that's a made up that's I agree? Is the is
- 49:49Speaker 1: the guest here, Daniel. Let's invite this person in and
- 49:52Speaker 1: make their day. Let's cheer them up or or tickle
- 49:56Speaker 1: them with our words. Oh ladies, and gentleman wearing his
- 50:03Speaker 1: fake doctor's real fringe onesie, give it up for Jimmy,
- 50:08Speaker 1: can't Jimmie? Welcome to the program. You our very first
- 50:14Speaker 1: guest to be wearing the onesie live on the show.
- 50:17Speaker 1: I encourage all future guests if you, if you have
- 50:21Speaker 1: a onesie, to wear it as as a guest. I
- 50:24Speaker 1: can ask you a question. Yeah, before we get her,
- 50:28Speaker 1: isn't it cozy? It's so cozy. Can I say real quick,
- 50:34Speaker 1: I'm using my brother in law's computer. My name's actually
- 50:36Speaker 1: cam U. I go by Cam. Okay, so confusing Cam. No,
- 50:43Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I thought I could change Cam. You can
- 50:46Speaker 1: you know, if you go in your odo see if
- 50:47Speaker 1: you upper right in corner those those three dots and
- 50:50Speaker 1: you click on it, and then it says, oh, sorry,
- 50:54Speaker 1: Daniel's gonna do it for you. Maybe the gentleman give
- 50:57Speaker 1: it up for Actually, I mean, I really just couldn't
- 51:03Speaker 1: go through life knowing that I didn't get Donald's oprah
- 51:06Speaker 1: intro to someone else's name when you play the show back,
- 51:12Speaker 1: when you play the show back for your brother, it's
- 51:14Speaker 1: your brother, your brother in law. He's going to be
- 51:17Speaker 1: happy that he gotta because your last name ain't even
- 51:20Speaker 1: ke is it. It's not. It's Salibi, all right, but listen,
- 51:24Speaker 1: let's go Cam camp Donald, and gentlemen give it up
- 51:30Speaker 1: my cam Salibi um Donald. I want to say that
- 51:36Speaker 1: the onesie looks really good on CAM. It is very comfortable,
- 51:40Speaker 1: very cozy. Now, Cam, do you like the fact that
- 51:43Speaker 1: it has pockets because sometimes you get a onesie and
- 51:45Speaker 1: and there's nowhere to put your phone or your stuff.
- 51:48Speaker 1: You can put anything you want in there. Yeah, not
- 51:50Speaker 1: only the pockets, but I like where they're placed too,
- 51:52Speaker 1: you know, not even like to decide they're like perfect
- 51:55Speaker 1: like hoodie pockets. You know. I have only one complaint
- 52:00Speaker 1: about our one zie. Okay, no poop flap, no poop flop. Yeah,
- 52:05Speaker 1: next incarnation, we need to add a poo flaps. Going
- 52:07Speaker 1: to cost more money though, Yeah, yeah, you cost more money.
- 52:10Speaker 1: You do have to go all the way off if
- 52:11Speaker 1: you want to, you know. Yeah, I just think a
- 52:14Speaker 1: poop flap is funny, even if you don't use the
- 52:16Speaker 1: poop flap. I just think I laugh every time I
- 52:17Speaker 1: see a poop flap. Um, Cam, Welcome to the program.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Where are you calling from? I'm from Charleston, South Carolina? Okay,
- 52:27Speaker 1: And do you have a question for any of us
- 52:29Speaker 1: today to be on the show? I do? I do?
- 52:31Speaker 1: I have a question for all of you. Actually, go
- 52:33Speaker 1: ahead and cam that really scrubs specific And I just
- 52:35Speaker 1: got to say so I give credit where credit is due.
- 52:39Speaker 1: I kind of got this question from another podcast I
- 52:41Speaker 1: listened to. It's called The Watch through the Ringer Network.
- 52:44Speaker 1: Shout out Shay Serato watch both the Watches. Two guys
- 52:49Speaker 1: they had Jason Mazuokas on and they were talking a
- 52:52Speaker 1: lot about this past year, and the question was, do
- 52:55Speaker 1: you feel the way you consume content or what content
- 52:58Speaker 1: you want to consume has change over the past ten months.
- 53:01Speaker 1: Your personal taste or what you find funny has that
- 53:04Speaker 1: changed over the past year as well? Obviously with the
- 53:06Speaker 1: pandemic things like that. Yeah, I think I think my
- 53:11Speaker 1: taste and what I find funny has changed. And I
- 53:14Speaker 1: think a lot of it has to do with how
- 53:15Speaker 1: the culture has shifted. You know, what is considered bullying
- 53:22Speaker 1: and not necessarily was considered punching down now used to
- 53:28Speaker 1: be considered very funny and it it's it's not anymore.
- 53:33Speaker 1: Um And so yeah, i think I'm way more conscious
- 53:37Speaker 1: of when listening to jokes and this is and and
- 53:40Speaker 1: this is something that I'm not necessarily happy about or
- 53:43Speaker 1: sad about. Uh, It's just that I'm very I'm I'm
- 53:47Speaker 1: I'm very aware of this now that when I listened
- 53:50Speaker 1: to jokes, I'm also when I'm when I'm consuming content,
- 53:55Speaker 1: I should say I'm also checking to see if it
- 53:59Speaker 1: offends anyone, because if it does, then I'm not necessary
- 54:03Speaker 1: like once I feel like something offends somebody, then I
- 54:07Speaker 1: have a problem with it in a lot of ways,
- 54:09Speaker 1: And I don't know, and I think I think it
- 54:12Speaker 1: has a lot to do with, you know, just the
- 54:14Speaker 1: climate that we're in right now. I don't want anyone
- 54:16Speaker 1: to necessarily be offended by me, like in ways that
- 54:24Speaker 1: I've been offended by people, you know what I mean.
- 54:27Speaker 1: So if if I ever make somebody feel like I
- 54:32Speaker 1: have felt, then I got a problem with that. And
- 54:35Speaker 1: I think this year, more than anything, because of the climate,
- 54:39Speaker 1: we are experiencing that more. I think whether it's okay, well,
- 54:44Speaker 1: now that I know that it hurts you, people are
- 54:46Speaker 1: using it more, or I know that it hurts you,
- 54:50Speaker 1: I'm going to refrain from saying it. And even if
- 54:52Speaker 1: it's not honest, at least it's at least it's an
- 54:55Speaker 1: effort to say, you know what, I see that that
- 54:57Speaker 1: hurts you. My bad. What about you, Joel? Do you
- 55:02Speaker 1: think your ways of or the way you view content
- 55:05Speaker 1: has changed all during the pandemic? Uh? No, I mean
- 55:09Speaker 1: I had the film and television critic beforehand. I watched
- 55:14Speaker 1: things all the time streaming or on my computer because
- 55:16Speaker 1: that's how we get the screeners. I think that there's
- 55:21Speaker 1: a possibility. I like certain shows a lot more than
- 55:23Speaker 1: I would have pre pandemic. I still would have enjoyed,
- 55:26Speaker 1: like I would have enjoyed the Lasso whenever it came out,
- 55:28Speaker 1: But my God, wasn't like vital to just lifting the spear.
- 55:32Speaker 1: It was like came like the darkest point of the
- 55:33Speaker 1: pandemic where we were like, I don't there's no cure insight,
- 55:36Speaker 1: I don't know what's happening. Then like like a beacon
- 55:38Speaker 1: of light here comes to the lasso, just to like
- 55:39Speaker 1: bowl you over with comedy and then did you feel
- 55:42Speaker 1: sorry to digress that episode two was the best episode
- 55:44Speaker 1: of Oh clearly, clearly the best superior to all the
- 55:48Speaker 1: episodes was something about the way it was directed. Go ahead,
- 55:51Speaker 1: And then there shows like um, the Queen's Gambit or
- 55:55Speaker 1: even I don't know if you guys have had an
- 55:56Speaker 1: opportunity to Marini's Black Bottom yet, but that like again,
- 56:01Speaker 1: like there's something timely about these things, even Soul, which
- 56:03Speaker 1: I think maybe I would have been more harshly critical of,
- 56:06Speaker 1: like pre pandemic, like this is so no I can
- 56:11Speaker 1: I like Soul, I might have been more critical in
- 56:14Speaker 1: a world where you know, we probably would have had
- 56:18Speaker 1: a similar summer despite the pandemic. Right, So tensions are
- 56:21Speaker 1: high and there's a lot to consider about black representation
- 56:24Speaker 1: and art. But like, my god, anything that's going to
- 56:26Speaker 1: make me feel some kind of joy or light or
- 56:29Speaker 1: or feels like just remotely better than the previous representation
- 56:34Speaker 1: we've had, and like give it a hall pass. Like
- 56:36Speaker 1: again't take it too harshly, because I just need this
- 56:39Speaker 1: level of joy and content in this time. And I
- 56:43Speaker 1: a little bit his change. I appreciate certain things a
- 56:46Speaker 1: little bit more, but for the most part, no, I'm
- 56:48Speaker 1: watching and consuming when you hear people, But when you
- 56:51Speaker 1: hear people say certain things like uh, you know, hurtful
- 56:56Speaker 1: things in media and in in it doesn't affect you
- 57:00Speaker 1: more Like it affects me way more now because I
- 57:03Speaker 1: feel like everybody is well await, Like okay, I just
- 57:07Speaker 1: saw something recently where a young lady is going crazy
- 57:10Speaker 1: over her phone accusing of a young accusing a young
- 57:13Speaker 1: black kid of stealing her phone, right, and it really
- 57:20Speaker 1: angered me because it was like, wait, hold on, now,
- 57:22Speaker 1: you know what's going on. There's a better way to
- 57:25Speaker 1: do this, dude. What you're doing right now isn't the
- 57:28Speaker 1: right way. There's a better way to handle all of this.
- 57:32Speaker 1: You know, what's what climate, This is what's going on
- 57:35Speaker 1: right now, and you're not even paying. You don't give
- 57:37Speaker 1: a fuck, and that pisses me off. You know what
- 57:39Speaker 1: I mean? When I see sh like that, I can't
- 57:42Speaker 1: really media. That's something somebody like captured, right, Like, that's
- 57:45Speaker 1: not turned into media though, you know what I mean,
- 57:48Speaker 1: it's now turned into something to involve. It is a
- 57:50Speaker 1: much broader conversation, which I don't a thousand percent disagree
- 57:54Speaker 1: with you, but it's a much broader conversation than I
- 57:57Speaker 1: think we can tackle here. I think I've always been
- 58:00Speaker 1: sensitive to that stuff, Like, I mean, if you're gonna
- 58:02Speaker 1: come yelling at children who are just being kids, like,
- 58:05Speaker 1: I've always found that, right, I don't get it. What
- 58:09Speaker 1: about you, Daniel? I think you know inherently, one thing
- 58:13Speaker 1: that is affected my media watching is just the climate
- 58:16Speaker 1: of the world from a health standpoint. Every movie or
- 58:19Speaker 1: thing that I watched from the past, I just look
- 58:21Speaker 1: at and be like, can you believe all those people
- 58:23Speaker 1: are so close together? Can you believe that we were
- 58:25Speaker 1: just so accepting of like this or that or the
- 58:27Speaker 1: other thing? Right? You know, one thing I saw one
- 58:30Speaker 1: thing I saw recently people. Someone on Twitter was saying,
- 58:33Speaker 1: can you believe that we all just like went bowling,
- 58:35Speaker 1: like sticking your fingers into the bowling ball? That's someone else.
- 58:38Speaker 1: You have no idea that we all just did that
- 58:41Speaker 1: and then ate our chicken fingers light. So I think,
- 58:46Speaker 1: you know, anytime I watched something from a year ago
- 58:49Speaker 1: and beyond, there's that, and that's definitely going on in
- 58:52Speaker 1: the back of my head, and going forward, I will
- 58:54Speaker 1: definitely be considering that in the safety of everybody around
- 58:57Speaker 1: in production. Do you think the movie should be Do
- 59:00Speaker 1: you think movies should be conscious of that? Do you
- 59:02Speaker 1: think do you think movies should go back to the
- 59:04Speaker 1: way they were before compared to what's going on now?
- 59:09Speaker 1: Like should movies tackle the fact that Corona happened and
- 59:15Speaker 1: sanitizing your hand and washing your hands? And you know
- 59:18Speaker 1: what I mean, because when you go and watch a
- 59:19Speaker 1: movie and somebody does that, the whole audience is going
- 59:21Speaker 1: to be like, oh my god, so fucking no. I
- 59:24Speaker 1: know it's a question because I'm hoping to shoot my
- 59:26Speaker 1: film this coming summer and I don't plan to address
- 59:31Speaker 1: COVID at all, because I imagine it will come out
- 59:34Speaker 1: a year from the summer, and with god willing universe willing,
- 59:40Speaker 1: COVID will be tackled. And I don't want my film
- 59:43Speaker 1: to be like, oh, it's a COVID movie, but yeah,
- 59:45Speaker 1: it's weird you think of like you know, you think
- 59:49Speaker 1: of shooting something. I agree everything I watch now, I'm like,
- 59:53Speaker 1: oh my god. We were watching the show called every
- 59:55Speaker 1: Somebody Feed Phil. I don't know if you ever see.
- 59:57Speaker 1: It's really funny food show, and he's like really sharing
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: a fork with a stranger and everyone we just like
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: when the room gasped, we were like, oh my god.
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: It just really quickly. On that very point, I think
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: sometimes the best movies exist in a world where, like
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: the situation of the world isn't the focus. It just
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: happens to exist in that world. I think, like, you know,
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: you think about the kind of clover Field, the monster movie.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: Clover Field tried to do a good job of telling
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: a story in a world where a monster movie is happening,
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: rather than making the movie about the monster. Maybe not
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: the best example, but I think as we see movies
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: going forward, there will be movies that exist in the
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: time of COVID. But if there are movies that are
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: about COVID, it's just going to be contrived and boring
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: and lame. But seeing a movie that exists in this
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: world that's about something else, I'm interested to see how
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: that's part of life and so how decide to tackle
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: that in film and the media, I'm interested. So they
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: made a comment in that other podcast about how they
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: were watching old episodes of back PI and uh He's
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: and the guy was like, Jason was like, everyone in
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: that show is dealing with Vietnam, you know, years and
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: years later. And his thought was like, you're you know,
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: you got to have like a character dealing with the pain,
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: Like what what was going on in their life during
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: the pandemic. I don't know it. I thought it was
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: kind of interesting thought, Like, but I agree, Zach, you're
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: not gonna make a COVID somebody somebody will will. But
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: I think and I think that also that they'll do
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: both things. Somebody will make a film about plenty of
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: movies about COVID. But then like in your Magnum Pi analogy,
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: they'll be art of all types, whether it's a PI
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: show or or a little dark indie where COVID is
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: a character. Just the the the trauma, the emotional trauma
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: of what's happened to the earth. UM for what will
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: be two years or more. UM, I think is going
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: to be something a lot of artists make art about.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: All Right, kem, what's your next question for for the group? Well,
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: that was actually my My other question was do you
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: do you see art changing? Now? All of you are
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: in different types of obviously art and I know there's
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: obviously the little haiting flute like fruit like I assume,
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: like you know, dance floors or DJs are not going
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: to be completely filled maybe, But do you see it
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: changing coming out of this on the other side because
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: of two or two and a half years of being
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: in it, I never really thought about that. I don't think.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: I think. I think eventually people will go back to
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: nightclubs and people will go back to theaters. I don't
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: think any of that's dying that quick at death. People
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: love dance, people love to go see movies together. People
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: like me are obsessed with live theater. Wait, hold on,
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: let me get this straight, Zack. You feel like the
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: movie theater is going to make a comeback again. I
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: think the movie theater as a as an experience for
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: Blockbusters is going to outlive us. I do think that
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: the idea, even I who love movies, when I see
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: when I see the trailer, I go, I'll wait till
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: it's to be on my big screen TV because I
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: don't it's not a film that for me. I want
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: the theatrical experience. But then then nineteen seventeen came out.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: I actually watched the screener because I had the Award
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: screener for it, and I went, holy shit, I have
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: done this film a disservice. I want to go see
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: it on a big ass screen. So I think they'll
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: always be, at least for our lifetime, an experience that
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: someone can go have and go see a movie on
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: a big screen. I think that the business they'll do
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: for smaller films that aren't about spectacle will will dwindle. Yeah,
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: it's just I have a hard time thinking that people
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: will go back to theaters. And I hope they do
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: go back to theaters. I don't. I don't want to
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: jinx this, but it's just that's one of the dirtiest
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: places you can go as far as hygiene goes. You
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: go to the bed like when you sit down and
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: the arm rest next to you. Well, COVID will be tackled.
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: I mean, how long is the question? But it will
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: be conquered. Okay, well it needs to be. We listen,
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: And I hate to get political. I don't want to
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: get political about this because I don't think this is
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: a political statement. But one hundred million vaccine, one hundred
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: million vaccine ship to the US, how many people have
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: been inoculated? How many people have received a code vaccine?
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: A million people? Okay, so one million out of one
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: hundred million, about of three hundred millions. I see where
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: you're going though, because the thing is what I did
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: read earlier today is that like at the current rate
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: that we're that we're giving out the vaccine, we're not
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: going to give out the vaccine in total for ten
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: years if we want, right, I know, but okay, but
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: in defense of in defense of human beings and a
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: global logistics, I think that it will be begin the
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: if you looked at the graph, it's going to start picking.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: I mean, not to be political, but of course I
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: have a feeling when Biden takes over, um, there might
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: be a few smarter people in the room to kick
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: up the distribution. But but even if it wasn't even
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: even if everyone in this current administration were well in
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: ten and doing their best at one hundred percent, it's
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: still pretty massive undertaking to to to give the COVID
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: vaccine to three hundred million people. Yeah, it's going to
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: be an enormous undertaking. Also, just to correct because people
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: will undoubtedly come at us. It's two point one million
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: people as of the recording, two point one million people
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: in the US and perceive their cover and we've gotten
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: so let's make sure we're clear on that. If you,
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: like I said, I don't want to offend anybody by
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: my numbers. These are the things before I would just
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: be black fucking it's such such a sense of touch.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: I don't give a fuck about facts. Nowadays it's very important.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: You're absolutely right. Yeah, does X point you like you're
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: gonna want to see a horror film in a theater again, Like,
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: it's not the same. It's not the same watching a
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: horror movie at home by yourself. You're like, oh, it's
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: it's kind of scary. But when you hear three hundred
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: people gasp in a movie theater, there's nothing is replacing
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: that presence. How will that be packaged? Delivered and sold
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: to us is going to change drastically. My guess is
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: we're gonna see a spike in low inc like the
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: dollar theaters and things like that that are cheap and
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: running very old movies and things like that, because and
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: then we'll see obviously a hike in the very expensive
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: you can get booze in a like food items and
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: things delivered and their smells in the air, or whatever
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: they can do to sensationalize and get more money. Because
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: theaters are going to have to adjust post pandemic, but
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: they will adjust. They'll still have audiences, all right. Here's
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: a great example, Joel. If you had to go to
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: if you went to the movie theaters to see Wonder
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: Woman nineteen eighty five, which you piss whatever it was
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: when you walked out, wouldn't you be pissed off? Well, no,
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: I want to see it. I understand that sometimes movies
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: are gonna be bad. I'm a movie theater goer. Again,
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm probably buy it person. I'm a
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: film critic, so I really have to pay for a movie.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: But even when I do, I'm like, I go in
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: for the experience of like, I can't see a movie
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: and Wonder Woman. Say Zack's earlier point gives you so
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: much to talk about. You can critique that movie seven
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: thousand different ways, so many things to discuss. Catch though, Man,
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: it ain't as bad as like, you know what I'm
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: saying that. I think that's what I'm trying to say.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: It's by the way Christen Wig was was a cat.
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: I was expecting her be like because jelicals can and
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: jelicals due about that time, he is a curious beast.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: James James Gordon comes falling down, you know whatever, It's cool.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: The person who put Kristen Wig in a movie and
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: did not allow her one opportunity to be funny needs
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: a hand slap. Yes, all right, Cam, how can we
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: It's time for everyone's favorite segment in South Carolina especially,
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: it's time too fix your lie. Cam. We're here for you.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: How can we help you? We are professional therapists. Yeah,
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't it's you're talking to three
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: professional therapists and Donald Yeah. Yeah. I value your your judgement, Donald,
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: um for good or bad. So if it's about weed
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: or Star Wars, we haven't I got you. Well, I
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: don't want to be on too long. Uh so Uh,
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: I hate to go down the rabbit hole of always
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: asking the love questions. But and as my sister sex
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: next to me, oh, it's our specialty. She's going to
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: roll her eyes. But is your sister next to you, Yeah,
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: she's right here, sister. That's my sister Caroline. So I'm
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: I'm thirty seven, I'm the middle child. My sister is younger.
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: I have an older brother as well. Uh. They are
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: both married and have not one, but two kids. The
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: second one is on the way for both of them.
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: So I'm the lone single sibling left in the family.
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: And not that there's a lot of pressure from the
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: parents or from other family members, but some uh and
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: and I guess my roundabout question is, uh, I don't
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: know if some of them feel like I'm too picky
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: sometimes with finding a girl. Um, And then I so
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: I know, And I say that because I you know,
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: there's this idea of like when you know, you know,
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: and everybody has their story right that whatever it may be.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: I feel like when people get married or when they
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: get together, they're like, you know, it never would have
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: happened because of this and this, And I feel like
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: I've had those moments, but then it hasn't banned out.
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: So I'm like, is that a real moment? Was I
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: fooling myself? Was I not? You know? So I guess
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: that's the idea a little bit, if that's a question
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: at all. Um, you know, I guess that when you know,
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: you know it's a true statement. Maybe, But I just
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: am I too picky? You know? Like, no, I don't
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: think that such thing as too picky, But you got
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: to realize that it's you know, it's a two way street.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: So where where you're picky and your cup of tea
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: might present itself, you might not necessarily be that person's
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: cup of tea. So um, But also, can I say
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: something you we all are subscribing to this societal construct
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: that there's something wrong with you if you're your age
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: and you found haven't found your person yet. And I
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: think step one is you have to just let that
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: bullshit and go, yeah, it's because of kids, though, man,
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: it's because of kids. Okay, Okay, it's older, it's maybe
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: a little bit more difficult to have kids. And that's
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: the only reason why. Just as let me just say
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: my thoughts, just as you were programmed, I'm sure that
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: this was the right religion for our family, and this
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: is what we believe. And look, there's a book that
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: says it all, and these are the rules, and an
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: XYZ happens if you're good, and ABC happens if you're bad.
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: You were also programmed that by age thirty you better
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: be married and be thinking about having kids, and you
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: better stay with that person for the rest of your life.
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: And I just think a good starting point for the
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: conversation is just as I don't know if you're religious
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: or not, but just as Donald and I, for example,
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: are secular and don't and chose not to subscribe to
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: that aspect of what we were fed. You can also say,
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: guess what, what if my path is that I continue
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: leading the life that I have with enjoyment, I continue dating,
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: and holy shit, what if I find true love at
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: forty five? What if i'm what if I have a kid?
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: By the way, I have a good friend who started
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: having kids at fifty. I've never seen the guy happier
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: in his whole existence, you know, Gary Donald, So you
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: don't know what's coming for you. Now, we can give
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: you strategies for some ideas on how to how to
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: up your chances of meeting the person. But I think
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: the first step would be letting go of like I'm
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: in the wrong because of what society tells me I'm
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: supposed to be doing. Yeah, and well I'm coming from
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: the South. I feel like it was like, all right,
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: you graduated from high school, you go to college for
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: four years, you graduate from college, you get the job,
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: you get the white, white picket fence, and yeah, by
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: thirty that's all online. And I'm way past that. And
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: it's been a I understand, Zach, and it's a tough
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: thing to let go of. But in the back of
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: my mind it like, you know, knowledge you a little bit.
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: And what's happening is that every day you're telling yourself
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: there's something wrong with you. And also that white picket
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: fence fairy tale is of the past. Man that shit.
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: Who wants a fence? Nobody wants that shit? No more? Right, No,
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: I mean literally in figuratively, who the fuck wants that?
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: I think they're ugly. I actually have a I actually
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: have an old weathered one. They're beautiful weather. I just
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: don't like the painting white. Um. Now that's my that's
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: my speech on that. That's just my two cents, because
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: obviously it's coming from a place that I've thought a
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: lot about. Because I'm forty five. I have a girlfriend
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: I'm in love with. But I'm forty five and haven't
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: done any of the white picket fence of it all.
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: And when I do, you've done. You have done one
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: thing that you have done, one thing that is very
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: and I think I know what it is. I have
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: a home and a dog, You've you you put together
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: quite a career and and that's and that's part of
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: the white picket fence fairy tale. And I think, and
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: I'm gonna be honest with you, I think that is
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: part of the reason why so many people nowadays are
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: having a hard time finding the uh, the person that
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: they're looking for or the person that they think is
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: out there for them they're perfect person. You have to
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: focus on yourself if you're on hat. Listen, I've been,
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: I've been in that relationship where it was like, let's
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: make this work, because maybe we can be happy if
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: we make No. Man, you have to be happy first
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: to be able to make someone else happy. You can't
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: be a miserable person. And then and and expect to
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: find happiness in someone else. It doesn't work that way.
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: That's not how it works, regardless of what regardless of
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: what the movie says and everything like that, that's not
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: how it goes. You have to be confident in yourself first. Yeah,
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: I think you're already there, and so I think, I think,
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: I think. I don't think the problem is whether you
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: want to you know, why me? Why hasn't it happened
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: for me yet? I don't think it's I don't think
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: you're ready for it yet. I think if you wanted it,
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: you could go get that shit anybody. Well, I'm sure Cam,
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: especially in that Onesie could go, could go on dates
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: and and and meat chicks to hook up with. But
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: the one in the mustache make you look fire listen, Cam,
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: I'm sure what what I think was happening is that
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: cam on your body cam? If you want these things.
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: I'm sure you're dating, oh, not in COVID, but pre COVID,
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: I'm sure you were dating right, yes? And are you
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: on any of the apps. It's a love hate relationship,
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: so some some months yes, some muths though, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: I can tell you that. Um that of course, you
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: gotta be you gotta be on the field. You know,
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: you can't be in the stands. You gotta be playing
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: the game right right, because if you're if you're not.
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: I mean, nowadays, you know, people don't want to go
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: lean on a bar and yell to a stranger. I
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: like your skirt. You can actually have a chance to
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: to kind of get to know someone a little bit. Yeah,
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: thank you, just sitting there giggling at me. Did you
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: fucking hit that weed during our break? Did you hit
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: the weed? No, man, I wouldn't. I don't know about you,
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: but hitting the I want you. I want you to
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: be I want I'm gonna be honest with you. There
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: will never be a time ever when we're making this
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: podcast where while we're making it, I'm smoking weed, unless
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: we all agree that we're smoking weed. Anyway, let's commit
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: let's no listen once once once um, we're we're all
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: um injected and we and we're safe. I think we
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: should do an episode where we get together in the
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: same room and get high as balls and do the show. Yes, okay,
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: that's fine with me. There won't be any different for me.
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: I'd just be different for y'all. All right, Sorry, but
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: back to camloset, my wife might be mad, but we
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: can have maybe because the kids will be back at school. Um,
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: Cam Um. One thing I just want to say is
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: that you have to know that it's it takes work
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: to sustain a relationship. It's not just like if I
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: think one thing, then one thing negative that's coming out
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: of the apps is that everyone's just like pulling the
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: roulette wheel. Sorry, I think everyone's pulling the one armed bandit.
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: What do you call that thing? Slot machine? Yeah, everyone's
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: everyone's like okay, okay, oh cool, she's cool. Yeah, we
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: had a good day. Oh I'm looking her. Oh she
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: smokes drink. Next oh da dada. Oh she was kind
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: of obnoxious to Uh, you know people are people are
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: are pulling the slot machine so quickly being like thank
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: you next, as Ariana Grande said, um, and and whereas
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: if you are in pursuit of a committed relationship, it
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: does take patience and giving giving something time to brew. Yeah,
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: I think I've been guilty of that on some dates,
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: So I understand what you're saying. I'm sure there may
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: be girls you went on a date with and one
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: thing negative happened and you're like, fuck this and that
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: girl could have been amazing. She might have had a
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: bad night, all right, Donald, Donald, Remember it's like I
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: I was just thinking about that, or you might have
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: had a bad night, and yeah, you might have want
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: that second chance, you know what I mean. Like, that's
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: that's the thing. The first impression ship is it's it's
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: you always hear the story of well, the first impression
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: was horrible, but the second impression, that's when I knew
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: I liked the person. With these app things, now you're right,
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: it is white, I don't I don't know, but I'm
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: I imagine that it would be with my kids at
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: least swipe, swipe, swipe, such a such, And it's like
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: everybody's reading attributes Nope, next and when did you ever
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: have that? Next? When? When did you ever? When did you? Sorry? Right?
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: But when did you ever have that that capability? You
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: had to get to know somebody before all of that,
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: and sometimes when you got to know somebody, you were
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: able to dismiss some of the attributes that yours, you
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: know what I mean. And so that's the one thing
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: that's a little bit crazy about the the state of
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: dating nowadays, This computer age, this app age, it just
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: seems like there's just there's there's a little bit of
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: a disconnect because you're doing it through the wires of
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: the computer, you're getting to know. But I do think
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: it's I'm very pro I think, you know, Daniel is
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: one person. I have another friend. I'm very I know
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: a lot of people that I've seen people really find
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: true love through it. So I'm not saying it can happen.
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: I'm just saying there's steps that are you know what
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: I mean, Whereas you had to make an effort just
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: to see each other and talk to each other before
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: I'm typing it on the phone. Try and Match, Try
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: and match Cam, because that seems to be the one
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: I keep hearing works for people, and you know, Tinder,
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: you know, I think it's for people looking to hook up,
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: you know. And I don't really know about the other
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: ones because I've never been on them. But I've never
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: been on Bumble, I've never I've never been on any
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: of that ship cam. I recommend Match because I feel
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: like that one I seem to I seem to have
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: a lot of people they don't they should advertise with
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: us because I've I've I've heard a lot of people
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: have success with that one. But anyway, Cam, the point
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: is you gotta put in the time and don't just
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: and don't just um, especially now during the pandemic. There's
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: no reason you can't be like laying foundation and flirting
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: and getting yourself out there. Yeah, I think that I
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: recommend and only fans page Cam. Yeah, so also don't
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: be afraid to start Every guest that comes on, you
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: recommend they get an only fans account. Well, I think
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: that you're turning our guests into Donald My first subscriber
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: only if it's Donald, only if it's free. I don't
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: think you can watch the Yeah you can, you can.
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: There've done my research about this about only fans. No,
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: I looked twin what's her name? Got it? And one
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: made all that money. I was curious. I was like,
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: what did you subscribe? No? I wasn't gonna give her money,
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: but that was the thing that did you subscribe to
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: only fans? Did? She was the first person what's her name?
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: Bella Thorne was the first person that made me go,
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: what the fuck is this? And I looked it up,
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: but I did you subscribe to only fans? Though? No,
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: I haven't subscribed to only fans like I have not
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: even like listen, I'm gonna be honest with you, man,
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: there are a bunch of people in I just spit
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: on my camera, look at that shite that there are
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: a bunch of people in on Instagram that have only
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: fans and male and female. And I'm like, why would
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: you get only fans? I don't understand, you know what
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: I mean? And then I heard about the money you
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: can make. Why It's like yeah, and then just like
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: wait a second, you could make some money on only
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: people want to see naughty shit. I mean that they
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: don't necessarily have to do naughty. Yes enough that you
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: have to like beat off, but you have to like
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: show something. I gotta I gotta show. I gotta show junk,
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: I think, Joel, No, what are people paying for if
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: they're not? So here's the problem. Here's the problem is
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: that people like celebrities are like, oh, I'm doing an
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: only fans and everyone's like, oh, naughty bits, dope. I
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: will pay one hundred dollars for that photo. And then
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: they get the photo and you can see that on
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: Instagram and you're like, what the hell did I just
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: spend on hundred dollars for so you can go on
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: there and post whatever you want, but customer satisfaction varies. Right,
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: But you haven't answered my question, Joell, which is what
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: am I seeing on only fans as a satisfied customer
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: that doesn't involve nudity? Nothing? Nothing. I mean, there wasn't
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: ever intentionally designed for this originally supposed to be for
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: like artists and stuff. No matter what, no matter what,
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: anyone inventsd they're like, okay, now, how can we use
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: it for sex? It's just like Patreon and Patreon also
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: has this as well. There are people who sell you know,
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: sex work on Patreon. It's just only fans became something
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: that seemed more for that. Yeah, but even so their
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: platform identical. I feel like you' you know, what is it?
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: Two birds with one stone? Yeah, only fans. You're meeting people,
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: meeting new people. No, I don't think you should go
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: on only fans and two you making money. So let's
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: let's just get down to it. Don't take his advice.
