- 0:35Speaker 5: Hey, hey, hey, hey. It's a new day.
- 0:37Speaker 2: I'm a, I'm a doobie.

- 0:41Speaker 5: me up. Welcome, welcome, welcome! You're listening to the Sports
- 0:47Speaker 5: Shock Show.
- 0:48Speaker 2: I am the Sports Shock, Wayne Gandy.
- 0:50Speaker 5: Good morning to you here on this Thursday morning as
- 0:55Speaker 5: we ride into the second week of the NFL. The
- 1:00Speaker 5: third week of college football. Lane Kiffin headed to Ole Miss.
- 1:07Speaker 5: Even the governor already put out a mandate. Now y'all
- 1:09Speaker 5: act right. with Lane and LSU. We'll talk about that
- 1:14Speaker 5: later in the show, but glad to be here with you.
- 1:17Speaker 5: Thursday night football. And if you saw the interview, you
- 1:21Speaker 5: saw how Josh Allen not really happy. The Buffalo Bills
- 1:26Speaker 5: hosting the Lions. You heard the sentiment. If you didn't,
- 1:30Speaker 5: I understand. But I did as a former player. You
- 1:33Speaker 5: could tell, man, I can't believe we got to play
- 1:37Speaker 5: another game. on Thursday, he had that, we just had one.
- 1:43Speaker 5: Fresh out the box, it's hard. As I have said before,
- 1:47Speaker 5: when you play football, Thursday is the first day.
- 1:51Speaker 2: You feel any kind of.
- 1:56Speaker 5: Vitalization from the last game. You're just kind of like, ah, okay.
- 2:04Speaker 5: And as soon as that happens, you want me to
- 2:06Speaker 5: be back on the field. Thursday is the first day
- 2:10Speaker 5: that you're feeling anything like, oh, I can do it
- 2:13Speaker 5: again this coming Sunday. Now you're asking right off the bat.
- 2:16Speaker 5: And I said, okay, Thursday games, I'm cool with it.
- 2:19Speaker 5: But it was better when it used to be about
- 2:22Speaker 5: four or five, six weeks into the season. But you
- 2:26Speaker 5: want me to play who is two great teams over
- 2:30Speaker 5: the last couple of years to play again in 72
- 2:33Speaker 5: hours in a sense. The Lions- taking on the Beals tonight,
- 2:38Speaker 5: Thursday night. Football, I'm quite sure, is a host of
- 2:41Speaker 5: college football games. And as you know, week five, six,
- 2:45Speaker 5: based on what state you are, for high school football,
- 2:49Speaker 5: I have a big one for you that like high
- 2:51Speaker 5: school football, no matter where you are. Buford, the Wolves
- 2:57Speaker 5: from North Georgia, the national champs. I don't know that
- 3:00Speaker 5: the people in Georgia understand they had the national high
- 3:03Speaker 5: school champ. from last season. But they will be taking
- 3:09Speaker 5: on the Grayson team, the university. So it's mostly two universities.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Of high school football playing. Yeah, University of Grayson.
- 3:18Speaker 5: They're both universities, and that's how I look at both
- 3:21Speaker 5: of them because each and every one of them, every year,
- 3:26Speaker 5: every class they put out, it's six or seven I
- 3:33Speaker 5: was in high school, I was the only player that
- 3:36Speaker 5: went D1 for my high school team. These teams, yearly, individually,
- 3:47Speaker 5: eight to 12. D1, not just the, I'm talking about
- 3:53Speaker 5: the major program. Eight to 15 people on the team.
- 3:59Speaker 8: And then you got the juniors and sophomores in waiting
- 4:02Speaker 8: It's coming up.
- 4:03Speaker 5: Yes, it's something, but 7.30 Friday night, Buford 3-0 taking
- 4:08Speaker 5: on Grayson. I think Buford is maybe eighth right now
- 4:12Speaker 5: in the country, number one in.
- 4:14Speaker 2: The state of Georgia.
- 4:15Speaker 5: Coach App already four in his eight years, four state
- 4:20Speaker 5: championships and one national championship.
- 4:22Speaker 2: So that's called success, guys. Yeah, yeah.
- 4:26Speaker 5: Is that not?
- 4:27Speaker 2: It's a start. It's a good start.
- 4:29Speaker 9: Oh.
- 4:31Speaker 10: I'm saying because you know we in the NIL era
- 4:34Speaker 10: now and you got to win win win no matter
- 4:36Speaker 10: what and one.
- 4:38Speaker 5: Thing I almost forgot Comanche Greg I mean Comanche come
- 4:41Speaker 5: on Greg you're here now baby I know you had
- 4:43Speaker 5: to change the tire he has that I had to
- 4:45Speaker 5: change the tire look by myself with nobody on the
- 4:51Speaker 5: side of the room with nobody watching for him that
- 4:53Speaker 5: nobody slowed down just the number one player In the country,
- 5:02Speaker 5: plays for Buford. Number one rated player.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Again? Or didn't they have number one? That sounds like again.
- 5:10Speaker 10: Yeah, I think they've had a couple of number one
- 5:12Speaker 10: players in the country before.
- 5:14Speaker 5: They've had top running back, top receiver. I don't know
- 5:18Speaker 5: that they had the number one ranked. The last time
- 5:21Speaker 5: I called a number one overall ranked player in the country,
- 5:28Speaker 5: Was it Juju? His name was Travis Hunter.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Oh, Travis.
- 5:33Speaker 5: Which was about five years ago. Where's he now? And typically,
- 5:39Speaker 5: if you're ranked number one, he's in Jacksonville.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Whatever happened to him? He's in Jacksonville? Went on to college.
- 5:46Speaker 2: How'd he do?
- 5:47Speaker 5: Something did, something about a Heisman. Something like that.
- 5:53Speaker 10: I always wondered whatever happened.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 5:57Speaker 5: What do you think about the- He does commercials now.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Oh, does he?
- 6:00Speaker 5: Yeah, he does. Oh, he's an actor.
- 6:01Speaker 2: He's an actor. He went into acting. He went into acting.
- 6:04Speaker 11: Okay.
- 6:04Speaker 2: It makes sense now. It makes sense. Speaking of Buford.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Turned out all right for him.
- 6:08Speaker 12: Yeah, I guess.
- 6:09Speaker 2: He kind of flipped it on you.
- 6:10Speaker 11: I guess.
- 6:11Speaker 5: Had a lot of little things. He was doing everything else.
- 6:14Speaker 5: So he decided. Playing both ways on the field, I
- 6:16Speaker 5: guess he decided.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Go ahead, sir.
- 6:18Speaker 8: Buford, with that national ranking- they're getting a hard time
- 6:22Speaker 8: locally because they play two teams out of state and
- 6:25Speaker 8: they're saying that that's going to hurt them on their
- 6:27Speaker 8: playoff rankings. I don't think that should hurt them as
- 6:31Speaker 8: far as having some.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Playing non-conference games.
- 6:35Speaker 8: But unfortunately, they were speaking like, if you look at
- 6:38Speaker 8: the Georgia ranking of GPI, they're like ranked eighth.
- 6:43Speaker 5: Well, Georgia this year, which it seems one thing about
- 6:48Speaker 5: Georgia high school football or Georgia sports completely, they change
- 6:54Speaker 5: something every year. Every year. So this year they're working
- 6:58Speaker 5: off what they call the PSR system where they're ranking
- 7:02Speaker 5: week to week how the high school players. So you
- 7:06Speaker 5: can never– kind of narrow who you would play. It
- 7:09Speaker 5: is based on week to week, so everybody's adjusting. I
- 7:12Speaker 5: don't think Buford cares who they play, where they play,
- 7:15Speaker 5: how they play.
- 7:16Speaker 2: I was going to say.
- 7:17Speaker 5: They just play football to the next opponent. They're not
- 7:19Speaker 5: trying to set it up to make sure they play
- 7:21Speaker 5: a weak opponent. They're just playing the dominoes as they
- 7:25Speaker 5: hit the ball.
- 7:26Speaker 10: And I think that what we're moving into with some
- 7:31Speaker 10: of these high school programs, the Bufords, the Collins Hills, is...
- 7:36Speaker 10: We're no longer concerned with our state accolades anymore. We're
- 7:41Speaker 10: not really concerned about our position in the state. Because
- 7:47Speaker 10: we'll be in Dublin the next year for the opening
- 7:51Speaker 10: of the high school football season, playing some people from California.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Dublin, Ireland, not Dublin, Georgia.
- 7:57Speaker 10: No, Dublin, Ireland, playing some kids from California or in Hawaii,
- 8:03Speaker 10: playing some kids from somewhere in Wisconsin.
- 8:06Speaker 5: In the Chick-fil-A high school classic.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Classic. And that's where we're going. Kickoff series. That's where
- 8:13Speaker 2: we're going.
- 8:14Speaker 10: That's where we're going, where our Friday Night Lights now
- 8:18Speaker 10: will be on ESPN or Prime, and it'll be some
- 8:22Speaker 10: team that's the best from California against some team from
- 8:25Speaker 10: somewhere else.
- 8:25Speaker 5: Because the number one player came from Texas, transferred from
- 8:28Speaker 5: Texas this season. He said he wanted to develop and
- 8:31Speaker 5: be better. So him and his father discussed where can,
- 8:36Speaker 5: in his senior year, he develop. They believe Buford. add
- 8:40Speaker 5: something to their game. He's 6'3, about 3'15. And they
- 8:46Speaker 5: came to Buford.
- 8:48Speaker 10: And like nine, 12 years ago, I know a coach
- 8:53Speaker 10: from Grady went to jail.
- 8:56Speaker 5: For that, I know a coach from Jake Grady straight
- 9:00Speaker 5: went to jail.
- 9:00Speaker 10: They fired the administration of Grady High School, and then
- 9:03Speaker 10: they sent that coach to jail.
- 9:05Speaker 2: You know who I am. I'm not exaggerating.
- 9:09Speaker 5: They arrested that coach.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Even changed the name of the high school.
- 9:12Speaker 5: They arrested that coach.
- 9:14Speaker 2: You right.
- 9:15Speaker 5: They trying to change the name of the high school.
- 9:18Speaker 10: Changed the name of the whole school, and now this
- 9:21Speaker 10: man is at a press conference going, look, I'm Lee Texas.
- 9:24Speaker 10: Because I'm going to go to Buford in Georgia, and
- 9:26Speaker 10: I'm still in high school. And everybody's like, yay! Top story.
- 9:30Speaker 5: And, Big Kenny, as I said, as ESPN and Fox,
- 9:32Speaker 5: that is the next phase of sport domination that the
- 9:40Speaker 5: Bufords are going. They're going to have those same, like,
- 9:43Speaker 5: schedules you see with the Big Ten, the SEC, where
- 9:46Speaker 5: I have my seven games I have to play in
- 9:50Speaker 5: the state.
- 9:51Speaker 13: Mm-hmm.
- 9:52Speaker 5: And the three people I'm going to pick are going
- 9:55Speaker 5: to be, because Buford just played.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Miami.
- 9:59Speaker 5: Central last week. So I'm gonna pick the next state's
- 10:05Speaker 5: best team. Why not? Why not every year? I had
- 10:08Speaker 5: the best team. Florida team, I had the best Alabama team,
- 10:13Speaker 5: I had the best Tennessee. It's right here. So I
- 10:16Speaker 5: can find that kind of competition and put it on
- 10:19Speaker 5: my resume, and it's going to be in that way.
- 10:23Speaker 2: I believe it. We're seeing it already.
- 10:27Speaker 10: It used to be you catch a Friday night lights game,
- 10:32Speaker 10: especially here in Georgia, on GPB, some local network. Now
- 10:37Speaker 10: I cut straight to ESPN. Emmy award winning. Yeah. Now
- 10:42Speaker 10: I cut straight to ESPN. Now ESPN is awesome. Yeah, thanks, GPB,
- 10:46Speaker 10: for keeping them warm for us.
- 10:49Speaker 5: Thanks, opener.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Because now they've come to get all of those games.
- 10:53Speaker 5: Yeah, they kicked off the season this year with Buford
- 10:55Speaker 5: and Gainesville on ESPN. I actually had to watch the
- 10:59Speaker 5: game to get prepared for tomorrow. Night by high school sports,
- 11:03Speaker 5: as I said, great game coming up. Number one player
- 11:05Speaker 5: in the country as well, and a whole bunch of
- 11:08Speaker 5: other brand names that you will see on the college rink.
- 11:13Speaker 5: But we got that to talk about. Kraft versus Macklemore.
- 11:17Speaker 2: What is his name?
- 11:18Speaker 5: Macklemore. Yeah, we're going to talk a little bit about that.
- 11:22Speaker 5: As I said, Ole Miss, LSU going to do battle.
- 11:25Speaker 5: I don't like segments where I say I told you so,
- 11:28Speaker 5: but now y'all mad for Nickit. Women athletes? Wait now!
- 11:34Speaker 5: I've been on that soapbox for years. And see, we've
- 11:37Speaker 5: been trying to hush you. We've been trying to tell
- 11:39Speaker 5: you to hush me. Because I love my Sports Illustrated person.
- 11:41Speaker 5: Now everybody, oh, that's demeaning to women, isn't it?
- 11:45Speaker 2: Demeaning. Wasn't it always?
- 11:47Speaker 5: Because it's the wrong woman. We'll be back with more
- 11:49Speaker 5: of the Sports Talk Show. Right after this.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Let's not knock naked.
- 11:54Speaker 5: Don't go away.
- 11:54Speaker 14: More of the Sports Jot Show with Wayne Gamby is.

- 13:10Speaker 16: Talking about guns with others might not always feel comfortable,
- 13:13Speaker 16: but it could save a life. Here's a way to
- 13:15Speaker 16: start a conversation. Your family is going over to your
- 13:18Speaker 16: neighbor's home for dinner for the first time. How would
- 13:20Speaker 16: you ask if there are any unlocked guns in the home?
- 13:23Speaker 17: Hey.
- 13:23Speaker 12: Hey, we're so excited for tonight. Before we come over, though,
- 13:26Speaker 12: may I ask if there are any unlocked guns in
- 13:29Speaker 12: your home?
- 13:29Speaker 18: Our guns are stored securely, locked in a safe that
- 13:32Speaker 18: the kids can't access.
- 13:34Speaker 5: Awesome.
- 13:35Speaker 16: Learn how to have the conversation at agree2agree. org, brought to
- 13:38Speaker 16: you by the Ad Council.
- 13:40Speaker 9: Don't act like that. Don't wear that.
- 13:43Speaker 6: Don't think that.
- 13:45Speaker 18: I've heard everything you tell yourself every time you felt different,
- 13:49Speaker 18: and I want you to know That you can be

- 14:07Speaker 18: to you by the Huntsman Mental Health Institute and the

- 14:17Speaker 7: Jock of the Day is sponsored by MattressHeroesUSA.com. The sleep
- 14:21Speaker 7: you deserve at a price you can afford. Now, it's
- 14:25Speaker 7: time to present the Jock of the Day on the
- 14:27Speaker 7: Sports Jock Show.
- 14:28Speaker 14: He's taken it to a completely different level this year.
- 14:31Speaker 7: Where we highlight an athlete that has taken their game
- 14:34Speaker 7: to the next level.
- 14:44Speaker 19: Welcome back to the Sports Shop Show. I'm the Sports
- 14:46Speaker 19: Shop Wayne Candy. Good morning to you. Big win for
- 14:49Speaker 19: Texas over Ohio State. The comeback, I think it was
- 14:51Speaker 19: just not so much that Texas, who was ranked four
- 14:53Speaker 19: going into the game, and Ohio State ranked one.
- 15:14Speaker 5: So really the storyline is not that Texas beat Ohio State.
- 15:18Speaker 2: It was the way they did it. It was the
- 15:20Speaker 2: comeback part.
- 15:22Speaker 5: So don't get out there, as I always say, when
- 15:24Speaker 5: they– four beating one is not an upset.
- 15:28Speaker 2: It's possible. It's plausible.
- 15:30Speaker 10: That's not an upset. It's in the realm of– what
- 15:32Speaker 10: do they call the realm of error when they do
- 15:38Speaker 10: the predictions– It's in the margin of error.
- 15:41Speaker 5: Yeah, it's not an upset.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Two or three points.
- 15:43Speaker 5: Arena, Aranya Sabalenka losing the other day. She was one.
- 15:49Speaker 5: The other lady was number two. There was some conversation
- 15:51Speaker 5: that the number two lady was going to beat the
- 15:53Speaker 5: number one. That's not an upset. Four beating one is
- 15:56Speaker 5: not an upset. When you look at this, it just
- 15:58Speaker 5: was that they were down 20 in some kind of
- 16:02Speaker 5: way with no signs that they were going to win
- 16:05Speaker 5: this game.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Won it. You know, in the last quarter. And they
- 16:10Speaker 2: call that an upset because the people who thought they
- 16:12Speaker 2: were going to win were upset. It's not that scientific.
- 16:16Speaker 5: But after the game, a social media post went out
- 16:20Speaker 5: where with the help of AI, as a lot of
- 16:24Speaker 5: things are and everything I know that I don't think
- 16:29Speaker 5: is true, I feel like it's AI-generated. In this case,
- 16:34Speaker 5: someone showed Arch Manning, one of the Manning fans, a
- 16:41Speaker 5: video of his coach where they had made it seem
- 16:44Speaker 5: like when Steve Sarkeesian, the head coach of Texas, went
- 16:48Speaker 5: to do an interview with Holly Rowe, it made it
- 16:52Speaker 5: seem like he slapped Holly Rowe. Someone showed it to
- 16:57Speaker 5: Arch Manning. People saw that Arch Manning's first reaction was
- 17:03Speaker 5: he laughed.
- 17:03Speaker 2: At the video.
- 17:04Speaker 5: 22-year-old laughing in as Big Kenny, Comanche Greg, the bad
- 17:10Speaker 5: producer have taught me. Everybody now goes to social media
- 17:15Speaker 5: for the response and whatever social media, whether they watch
- 17:20Speaker 5: the game, whether they know Arch, whether they know anything,
- 17:23Speaker 5: whatever social media has to say, starts becoming the truth.
- 17:30Speaker 5: To the point Arch Manning had to go, he had
- 17:33Speaker 5: to apologize for laughing initially at the video And now
- 17:43Speaker 5: whenever you do something good, whenever you decide that you're
- 17:46Speaker 5: going to live a certain life as people choose to,
- 17:50Speaker 5: they now decide what you can, can't do, what you
- 17:54Speaker 5: can laugh at, how you can vote, what restaurant you
- 17:57Speaker 5: should eat at, who you should call friend. You don't
- 18:02Speaker 5: have to sign a release. You don't have to say
- 18:05Speaker 5: you want to do these things as soon as you
- 18:09Speaker 5: Get attention paid to you. For whatever your reason, now
- 18:13Speaker 5: society feels like they own your consciousness. You need to
- 18:18Speaker 5: live up to whatever they are. They get the imprint
- 18:21Speaker 5: on how you should handle to the point now you're
- 18:24Speaker 5: telling an individual what their body and mind reacts to.
- 18:31Speaker 2: As funny.
- 18:35Speaker 5: I don't laugh at scary movie with the Wayne brothers.
- 18:39Speaker 5: None of that stuff makes me giggle. I watched the
- 18:45Speaker 5: whole movie and I watch it in awe of waiting
- 18:50Speaker 5: to when some of the skit is going to actually
- 18:53Speaker 5: invoke me to laughter. But there are about 10, 30,
- 19:00Speaker 5: 500 movies in.
- 19:03Speaker 2: So somebody's laughing. Somebody, somewhere. Or they're going to keep
- 19:07Speaker 2: making these movies.
- 19:08Speaker 5: Have mercy. But I don't get it. And that's how
- 19:11Speaker 5: it is for all individuals. That's how it really is.
- 19:17Speaker 5: Kevin Hart is one of the biggest stars on the
- 19:19Speaker 5: planet from the comedic realm.
- 19:24Speaker 2: He get maybe two from me. Ha, ha, ha. Oh,
- 19:31Speaker 2: I got to apologize. That is not a knock on him.
- 19:34Speaker 2: That's how comedy.
- 19:36Speaker 5: Right. Guys that have had me crying at comedy shows
- 19:42Speaker 5: never have necessarily become anything.
- 19:46Speaker 2: They're local, as 50 Cent say.
- 19:48Speaker 3: Local.
- 19:49Speaker 5: They local. They're not international. I've cried when a comedian, Earthquake, has,
- 19:56Speaker 5: I'm not, like, cried. Like, man, look, that's enough. I'm
- 19:58Speaker 5: going to go ahead on home. You got my money's worth.
- 20:01Speaker 5: I got my money's worth. I can go ahead.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Earthquake has brought the house.
- 20:04Speaker 5: But he, you mentioned his name in the comic world
- 20:08Speaker 5: as far as, People outside, they might not have ever
- 20:12Speaker 5: even seen him.
- 20:15Speaker 2: And he's still that funny today. He's still that.
- 20:18Speaker 5: So I start here coming at you, Greg, because how
- 20:21Speaker 5: dare people? I'm not saying Arch Manning is right or wrong,
- 20:25Speaker 5: but how dare you decide to the point Arch Manning
- 20:28Speaker 5: needs to go.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Apologize.
- 20:32Speaker 5: Now him laughing means that he supports violence. I'm quite
- 20:38Speaker 5: sure I'm putting myself in his shoes.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Game's over.
- 20:42Speaker 5: Somebody shows him this video. He knows his coach. He
- 20:47Speaker 5: knows his coach. He's probably laughing like, man, or the
- 20:51Speaker 5: stupidity that they got coached. It could be multiple reasons.
- 20:54Speaker 5: You jump right to he laughing at the video because
- 20:58Speaker 5: it's supporting violence.
- 21:04Speaker 2: How do you know that, Grant? Not you, per se.
- 21:07Speaker 2: How do I know that?
- 21:08Speaker 5: You're supporting violence?
- 21:09Speaker 4: Yes.
- 21:10Speaker 5: How would those people who are against Arch and needed
- 21:12Speaker 5: an apology know that's why it triggered it?
- 21:17Speaker 20: Because there are people who believe there's only one appropriate
- 21:21Speaker 20: reaction to certain things. He may have laughed out of
- 21:26Speaker 20: nervousness or he laughed because it was like so jarring.
- 21:28Speaker 2: He wasn't expecting it.
- 21:30Speaker 20: I'm sure a lot of people laugh because it was like, oh,
- 21:32Speaker 20: I wasn't expecting to see that. I know it's not real.
- 21:35Speaker 20: I know it's cartoonish. But I just wasn't expecting it.
- 21:40Speaker 20: And that's how.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Man, they'll make anything.
- 21:44Speaker 5: Exactly. Isn't that a laughter?
- 21:47Speaker 2: Have you ever laughed at somebody like that?
- 21:49Speaker 5: Like you're laughing at the idea that somebody sat around
- 21:53Speaker 5: and came up With this, like where do they come
- 21:56Speaker 5: up with this? Like half the things and we'll go
- 21:59Speaker 5: to break, come back. A lot of things I laugh
- 22:01Speaker 5: and instantly go laughing. Like boy, they was real high.
- 22:06Speaker 5: When they wrote this script, they had to be, right?
- 22:10Speaker 2: They had to be.
- 22:11Speaker 5: Some of the stuff they make movies of, that's the
- 22:14Speaker 5: part I be laughing at. Not what they put on
- 22:16Speaker 5: the screen, how high they must've been.
- 22:20Speaker 2: For that to be.
- 22:22Speaker 5: Let's do that. Or some things you think, man, if
- 22:25Speaker 5: I was on acid, I would get it.
- 22:26Speaker 2: I would get it.
- 22:27Speaker 5: So probably if I was on a drug watching a
- 22:29Speaker 5: scary movie, I would get it, right?
- 22:33Speaker 6: No.
- 22:34Speaker 2: I wouldn't get it. Okay, we'll come back, Big Kenny.
- 22:37Speaker 5: Bad producers wait on why someone, the article, ESPN launches
- 22:41Speaker 5: furious attack on immature Arch Manning as scandal engulfs college
- 22:47Speaker 5: football superstar overreaction to violent AI clip. That's the headline. Yeah.
- 22:54Speaker 5: We'll be back right after.
- 23:01Speaker 13: This.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Don't go away.
- 23:08Speaker 13: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gambias coming

- 23:19Speaker 6: But we do have one question for the veterans listening.
- 23:22Speaker 5: When was the last time you reached out for help?
- 23:26Speaker 6: If you or someone you know needs resources, whether it's

- 24:49Speaker 17: using their typewriters. Why should it be any different for

- 24:57Speaker 17: cause of more than 3,000 deaths in 2022.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Come on, we're smarter than this.
- 25:03Speaker 17: Let's put down the phones and focus on the roads.

- 25:24Speaker 2: In the red zone.
- 25:26Speaker 11: Bust it.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Bust it.
- 25:45Speaker 5: Welcome back to the Sports Talk Show. I'm the Sports
- 25:48Speaker 5: Talk Wayne Kennedy.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Good morning. Comanche Greg, Big Kenny, and the Bad Produce
- 25:51Speaker 2: are all.
- 25:52Speaker 5: In the building as we round into week two of
- 25:54Speaker 5: the NFL season, kicking off the night. The Lions visiting
- 25:58Speaker 5: the Bills. This is big because this is kind of
- 26:01Speaker 5: built up to be the first official game for the
- 26:04Speaker 5: Bills in their new confines up there in Buffalo, something
- 26:09Speaker 5: they have been going back and forth over for about
- 26:12Speaker 5: 30 years. From the days of Jim Kelly and those guys,
- 26:17Speaker 5: they've been trying to figure out whether to build a
- 26:19Speaker 5: new stadium. Even at one point, there was rumors of
- 26:23Speaker 5: them leaving Buffalo because of this stadium situation. Similar to
- 26:29Speaker 5: how the Kansas City Chiefs are opening their new stadiums.
- 26:32Speaker 5: This was kind of proposed. I think they were going
- 26:35Speaker 5: to go right across the border and maybe build a
- 26:37Speaker 5: stadium in Buffalo. But the Lions... taking on the Bills,
- 26:42Speaker 5: two teams with a lot of promise about their team tonight.
- 26:47Speaker 5: We left talking about the situation with Arch Manning. Justin,
- 26:51Speaker 5: week three of the season, finds himself already about an
- 26:57Speaker 5: AI clip, a video where his head coach was generated
- 27:04Speaker 5: through AI to be slapping the ESPN host, Holly Rowe.
- 27:11Speaker 5: In this instant, at some point, someone showed this clip,
- 27:14Speaker 5: which was generated quickly to Arch Manning. And we wake
- 27:18Speaker 5: up today where you see words like Arch Manning is immature, scandal,
- 27:28Speaker 5: painting a picture of where he supports violence by laughing.
- 27:35Speaker 5: Comanche Greg and I had our chance to weigh in.
- 27:39Speaker 5: Big Kenny, bad producer. Our society, how is it that
- 27:43Speaker 5: we feel like Arch Manning needs to apologize.
- 27:49Speaker 2: In this situation?
- 27:53Speaker 10: My direct answer is I don't know how we get
- 27:56Speaker 10: there as a society. Now, a couple of things that
- 28:02Speaker 10: I question. One, it was an AI clip. Do you
- 28:07Speaker 10: think that it's possible that some of this could be
- 28:10Speaker 10: AI outrage? The algorithm is trained to do that. That's
- 28:15Speaker 10: how they test it is I might just have this
- 28:19Speaker 10: clip put out and now because someone laughed, I have
- 28:24Speaker 10: it programmed to be the opposite.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Stance.
- 28:31Speaker 10: I'm going to be outraged and the more support you
- 28:33Speaker 10: give it, the more outrage I'm going to give in
- 28:37Speaker 10: the opposite opinion.
- 28:38Speaker 2: That's one thing.
- 28:40Speaker 10: Number two, just say, for instance, say, for instance, Arch
- 28:46Speaker 10: Manning actually thought it was funny. Say that he's got
- 28:50Speaker 10: a heavy bag with a picture of Holly Roe on
- 28:53Speaker 10: it at home. What if he's a fan of dark humor?
- 28:56Speaker 10: What if he thinks stuff like that is hilarious? What
- 29:00Speaker 10: if he watches wipeout videos where guys try and do
- 29:03Speaker 10: flips off of bridges or jump their bikes over a
- 29:06Speaker 10: bridge and they don't make it and they hit the
- 29:09Speaker 10: concrete and they break an ankle?
- 29:11Speaker 2: And people laugh at this. They had whole.
- 29:15Speaker 10: television shows about it jackass they had ridiculousness not just
- 29:20Speaker 10: jackass i'm saying one two three the movie the movie
- 29:25Speaker 10: all of that now and so if you can find
- 29:28Speaker 10: that funny if you can find some guy running into
- 29:33Speaker 10: a bus while he's trying to do a Willie on
- 29:35Speaker 10: a bike, hilarious. And you can distribute that. Surely someone
- 29:40Speaker 10: can find this funny and, and you don't have to
- 29:44Speaker 10: watch it. You could keep scrolling. And I don't understand.
- 29:47Speaker 10: It's only because he plays for Texas and his name
- 29:52Speaker 10: is Manning that it's even a story. I, I didn't
- 29:56Speaker 10: hear Holly roll complaining about the video as much as
- 30:00Speaker 10: people are complaining about him laughing about it.
- 30:04Speaker 2: Um, first he's still a college student. He's, he's a kid.
- 30:08Speaker 5: I don't know where they hollering immaturity.
- 30:10Speaker 8: I know he's placed football and he's, he's out there
- 30:14Speaker 8: doing something that's spectacular and amazing, but he's still a youth.
- 30:20Speaker 2: He's still a, a young man. It's a college student
- 30:24Speaker 2: in my eyes.
- 30:25Speaker 8: Um, Just like any typical young man, you see something funny,
- 30:30Speaker 8: you would laugh about it at first. I'm a little
- 30:34Speaker 8: taken back by how they have came at Steve Sarkeesian
- 30:38Speaker 8: and is like, he should protect his quarterback and issue
- 30:41Speaker 8: an apology on top of his to take away the
- 30:44Speaker 8: heat from Arch Manning.
- 30:46Speaker 2: Why should anybody be apologizing to him? Well, in this case,
- 30:51Speaker 2: we will see how it works out.
- 30:52Speaker 5: I just don't like how we decide that because someone
- 30:56Speaker 5: can do something, and we see it all the time,
- 30:59Speaker 5: no matter who it is. When we talk WNBA, we
- 31:02Speaker 5: talk about Angel Reese. We talk about Caitlin Clark. We
- 31:05Speaker 5: forget these young ladies are 24, and they have the
- 31:09Speaker 5: right to move and go. We decide that what they
- 31:13Speaker 5: should listen to, which political point, which religious point, As
- 31:19Speaker 5: we talk next, McLemore and Kraft, we'll talk about that.
- 31:23Speaker 5: Some of that is that. We don't even criticize what
- 31:28Speaker 5: people say anymore. We criticize what they should have said now. Yeah,
- 31:32Speaker 5: how they should have handled it. Man, you should have
- 31:35Speaker 5: came out and made a statement. What?
- 31:37Speaker 10: I was just minding my business and now you got
- 31:39Speaker 10: me somewhere having should have made a statement.
- 31:43Speaker 2: That's It's ridiculous now.
- 31:45Speaker 5: It has become truly something to where now we're even
- 31:49Speaker 5: Comanche Greg trying to decide what a person's comedy button is.
- 31:57Speaker 5: That is laughable in itself. It makes me laugh thinking
- 32:01Speaker 5: about that you think that you, I don't get, there's things,
- 32:05Speaker 5: as Big Kenny was pointing out, even you pointing out,
- 32:09Speaker 5: we all get something different.
- 32:11Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 32:14Speaker 5: I watch an episode of, like you said, Jackass, and
- 32:17Speaker 5: then it's like, well, I don't ever need to see
- 32:19Speaker 5: that again. It's not my comedy.
- 32:22Speaker 2: It's not my comedy.
- 32:23Speaker 5: Everybody didn't watch Seinfeld. They didn't get it. Everybody didn't
- 32:27Speaker 5: watch something like In Living Color. They didn't get it.
- 32:30Speaker 2: They didn't get it.
- 32:31Speaker 5: It's not everybody. You can't actually tell somebody what their
- 32:35Speaker 5: comedy is.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Trigger is. The office. I'm sorry. I wish that was
- 32:41Speaker 2: something you could.
- 32:42Speaker 20: And there may be people who don't believe in comedy
- 32:44Speaker 20: at all.
- 32:45Speaker 5: I don't even know that you can shape that.
- 32:47Speaker 2: No.
- 32:49Speaker 5: I don't even know that there's something you can shape.
- 32:51Speaker 5: Either you would it or you really are not.
- 32:54Speaker 10: And the fact that we would have discussions about shaping
- 32:57Speaker 10: it is the scary part. Because when I look at
- 33:03Speaker 10: situations like we are discussing with Arch Manning. it pushes
- 33:09Speaker 10: right up against censorship. And because of that, they're actually
- 33:13Speaker 10: wanting to impose some sort of penalty on this man
- 33:17Speaker 10: and the university and all.
- 33:18Speaker 2: Of that for laughing.
- 33:20Speaker 10: And that's, I mean, that's a scary thing area of
- 33:24Speaker 10: society when you can be penalized for that was somebody
- 33:29Speaker 10: slips and falls and you go oh that was funny
- 33:31Speaker 10: but it was a disabled person or it was an
- 33:36Speaker 10: older person or a person of color and now you
- 33:38Speaker 10: shouldn't have laughed and now I gotta pay a fine
- 33:41Speaker 10: well now the sad thing is that.
- 33:46Speaker 8: Texas the University of Texas football coach Sarkeesian Archman and
- 33:51Speaker 8: his players are now under the microscope because they are
- 33:55Speaker 8: writing articles to say that Steve Sarkeesian needs to teach
- 33:59Speaker 8: his players how to be better and not be violent
- 34:02Speaker 8: toward women.
- 34:04Speaker 10: That's what this is led up to. So I played
- 34:07Speaker 10: for Texas and now I'm violent towards women?
- 34:10Speaker 8: Yeah, because his players need to be more respectful and serious.
- 34:14Speaker 2: And somebody that they had nothing to do with.
- 34:17Speaker 8: We do not know who made the video.
- 34:19Speaker 5: As I said, Steve Sarkeesian. Arch Manning, Daddy Cooper. No
- 34:27Speaker 5: one can give him comedy. You can be married. You
- 34:32Speaker 5: can be parents. You can't tell your kid what is funny.
- 34:37Speaker 5: She can't tell you. Your wife and you might not
- 34:40Speaker 5: even watch the same shows based on neither one of
- 34:43Speaker 5: you get it. That's not what I laugh at. That
- 34:49Speaker 5: ain't my humor. You can't get somebody to get it.
- 34:54Speaker 5: Everybody's not laughing at Dave Chappelle at all. Some people
- 34:58Speaker 5: don't get it. It's just not one of those things.
- 35:02Speaker 5: We have that individual. I know y'all want to paint all.
- 35:06Speaker 5: I saw some article that this generation now is painting
- 35:09Speaker 5: all the houses.
- 35:10Speaker 2: White because.
- 35:15Speaker 5: Color might run people off or signify something. So if
- 35:21Speaker 5: you watch in your community, the newer constructions, the houses
- 35:25Speaker 5: are more white. Even painting the bricks white. The bricks white.
- 35:28Speaker 5: They're painting them blue. Or gray because they're supposed to
- 35:33Speaker 5: be neutral. Neutral. No kind of yellow would mean something.
- 35:40Speaker 5: Orange would mean something. According to them.
- 35:44Speaker 2: Exactly. That's what I'm trying to tell you. According to what?
- 35:47Speaker 10: According to the fact that, again, I'm beginning to wonder,
- 35:52Speaker 10: is this even real? You post something, and this is
- 35:57Speaker 10: what I'll, remember when you could Google something and it
- 36:01Speaker 10: would pop up based on the search. Then they started
- 36:05Speaker 10: paying to sponsor the first thing to pop up. So
- 36:08Speaker 10: now it's not based on who's searching or who gets
- 36:12Speaker 10: the most business. It's who's sponsored. So now I can
- 36:15Speaker 10: just sponsor an outrage. Whatever gets the most likes, that's
- 36:20Speaker 10: what gets pushed.
- 36:22Speaker 2: And so....
- 36:23Speaker 10: I want to sell white paint. Everybody, paint your house white.
- 36:26Speaker 10: And if someone looks at it and goes, they got 10,000 whites.
- 36:30Speaker 10: There's cotton candy white.
- 36:32Speaker 2: Which leaves it open. Which leaves it open so I
- 36:35Speaker 2: can sell all the white colors. Because if you don't
- 36:37Speaker 2: got the cotton candy white.
- 36:38Speaker 5: Marshmallow white.
- 36:39Speaker 2: You might get in trouble. Eggshell white. We'll be back.
- 36:43Speaker 2: Great color.
- 36:44Speaker 5: With more of the Sports Chalk Show right after this.
- 37:00Speaker 5: Don't go away.

- 39:08Speaker 5: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Gandy. It's
- 39:21Speaker 5: Wayne Gandy. It's way in there.
- 39:30Speaker 2: It's way in there.
- 39:32Speaker 26: Oh, log on so you can see. The Sports J-O-C,
- 39:36Speaker 26: even bigger. Welcome back to the Sports Shock Show. I'm
- 39:41Speaker 26: the Sports Shock Wayne Candy.
- 39:42Speaker 5: Good morning to you out there in listening land.
- 39:45Speaker 2: Glad to be here with you. Keep an eye.
- 39:48Speaker 5: Comanche Greg, Big Kenny, listeners, bad producer. Keep an eye
- 39:52Speaker 5: on and see if it's just me. But athletes that
- 39:56Speaker 5: are out, missing time, injured, not living up, they look
- 40:03Speaker 5: very comfortable. Very relaxed. not living up to, not participating in.
- 40:17Speaker 5: And I saw this last night when Aaron Judd of
- 40:20Speaker 5: the Yankees left the game. He looked very relaxed that
- 40:25Speaker 5: he had a little tweak in his hamstring. When I've
- 40:28Speaker 5: seen Kawhi Leonard, we'll talk about him on the sideline.
- 40:33Speaker 5: When I've seen Tua Tagloa Sunday, Michael Penix, when I
- 40:38Speaker 5: see guys out, They just don't have that, man, I
- 40:43Speaker 5: hate missing look when I look into the eyes. They
- 40:49Speaker 5: look like whatever, man, whatever. The check cashing. The commercial running.
- 40:58Speaker 5: The little bae at home cooking up the zucchini.
- 41:01Speaker 2: We good.
- 41:03Speaker 5: They don't have that look like, man, I wish I
- 41:05Speaker 5: was out there. They don't have that kind of tightness.
- 41:10Speaker 5: They kind of laid back. Yeah. Yeah, I got them.
- 41:18Speaker 5: That's what they did. I'm saying just keep your eye big, Kenny,
- 41:20Speaker 5: because you do that. I mean, you're good at perceiving.
- 41:24Speaker 2: They have that relaxed.
- 41:26Speaker 10: In my opinion, I've never played professional sports, but I
- 41:29Speaker 10: remember a time when being on the field.
- 41:35Speaker 2: Was tied to.
- 41:38Speaker 10: The relaxed the ability to relax off the field you
- 41:42Speaker 10: had performance incentives.
- 41:45Speaker 2: You had uh.
- 41:49Speaker 10: Yards, you had bonuses for gaining certain. And now everything is,
- 41:57Speaker 10: you know, you had the perception that you won't be
- 42:02Speaker 10: here long because you're not producing. But all I got
- 42:05Speaker 10: to do is sell tickets. I don't actually have to
- 42:08Speaker 10: produce on the field anymore. I just have to be
- 42:11Speaker 10: an entity for this organization. So as long as people
- 42:16Speaker 10: scream my name or even I'm a top story, and again,
- 42:21Speaker 10: the check is going to cash. I ain't got to
- 42:24Speaker 10: earn it first to cash it. It's cashed already. I'm
- 42:29Speaker 10: trying to get time off to spend it. I sort
- 42:31Speaker 10: of noticed it in the NBA.
- 42:33Speaker 8: That's when I first started noticing that a lot of
- 42:36Speaker 8: the players were like, hey, I'm just over here.
- 42:39Speaker 2: I got my check. I'm good.
- 42:43Speaker 20: And I looked at it because– It just happened recently.
- 42:47Speaker 20: Gabe Vincent, I think he's still on the Hawks. But
- 42:51Speaker 20: every couple years, an NBA player says, hey, a lot
- 42:54Speaker 20: of these guys don't really love basketball. They're just doing
- 42:58Speaker 20: it because it helps them to do all the other
- 43:02Speaker 20: stuff that they want to do outside of basketball.
- 43:04Speaker 10: Yeah, it's like me being on the sideline is equivalent
- 43:08Speaker 10: to pay time off.
- 43:09Speaker 5: So what I'm getting from you three is, Y'all have
- 43:12Speaker 5: already seen it too, I thought? Oh yeah, I've seen
- 43:15Speaker 5: it since basketball. I've seen and watched it. It ain't
- 43:18Speaker 5: just a sports talk thing.
- 43:20Speaker 20: It's hard to fathom in, I think it would be
- 43:23Speaker 20: hard to fathom in football, but.
- 43:25Speaker 2: No, no.
- 43:26Speaker 5: Who was the dude?
- 43:27Speaker 2: I know my body. Was it Michael Penix? I know
- 43:30Speaker 2: my body.
- 43:31Speaker 5: Who was that?
- 43:31Speaker 2: Was that him? I know my body.
- 43:34Speaker 10: They had cleared him to play. They were saying, you
- 43:41Speaker 10: can get back on the field. We need you on
- 43:43Speaker 10: the field. And he was like, I ain't ready yet.
- 43:46Speaker 10: And you know, everybody keeps telling me I'm ready, but
- 43:48Speaker 10: I know my body and my body tell me that
- 43:51Speaker 10: I'm not ready. And I, I mean, you know, that
- 43:54Speaker 10: to me was the, the pivotal moment in, in that,
- 44:00Speaker 10: you're not even going with the advice of the organization's doctors.
- 44:05Speaker 2: And medical staff. I need a third opinion.
- 44:07Speaker 10: And nobody has anything to do with the sport or
- 44:10Speaker 10: the team. I got to go to Zurich. I'm going
- 44:13Speaker 10: to fly a guy in. No matter of fact, forget
- 44:16Speaker 10: flying him in. I still might have to show up
- 44:18Speaker 10: at the facility.
- 44:19Speaker 2: If I'm flying here. I'll fly to him.
- 44:21Speaker 8: Start showing up at football when they create that little
- 44:24Speaker 8: blue tent more. You never notice that until– They started
- 44:28Speaker 8: sending the players in the tent. They come out of
- 44:30Speaker 8: the tent. You see them on the sideline. Used to,
- 44:33Speaker 8: you see them on the sideline. They got the helmet
- 44:36Speaker 8: in the hand. They ready to go. Still trying to go.
- 44:38Speaker 8: But once they got in the tent, they tell them relax. Just,
- 44:42Speaker 8: you know, we got to do some more tests.
- 44:44Speaker 10: Well, again, it used to be, remember, even when they
- 44:47Speaker 10: were holding up towels, it used to be if a
- 44:49Speaker 10: dude got hurt on the side, they'd be holding the
- 44:52Speaker 10: fingers up.
- 44:52Speaker 2: How many fingers I got? And seven. Okay, just get
- 44:56Speaker 2: me back out there. Give me that. But now, again.
- 45:00Speaker 5: I don't think you can give smelling salt anymore. Remember,
- 45:02Speaker 5: they got upset.
- 45:03Speaker 2: Well, you got to bring your own. You have to
- 45:05Speaker 2: buy your own now.
- 45:06Speaker 5: No, that's what I said. I don't think they can
- 45:07Speaker 5: give you smelling salt anymore. Well, since I didn't know
- 45:11Speaker 5: I was going to get knocked out, I didn't bring any.
- 45:15Speaker 2: Keep something in your sock.
- 45:17Speaker 10: So now I'll just run to the side and say
- 45:20Speaker 10: I don't feel that well.
- 45:22Speaker 5: Well, if I keep it in my sock and I
- 45:23Speaker 5: got a concussion, I forgot it was in my sock.
- 45:25Speaker 5: They're going to ask you where it is. No, they
- 45:28Speaker 5: can't administer it. But one of your teammates, just remind
- 45:31Speaker 5: your teammates. Remember what we're talking about. They can't have
- 45:34Speaker 5: anything to do. With you using smelling salts. What about
- 45:37Speaker 5: your teammate? If he knows in there he can't get
- 45:39Speaker 5: it for you and crack it open? As soon as
- 45:41Speaker 5: I do that, then they're going to put a rule
- 45:43Speaker 5: that he can't. The only person.
- 45:44Speaker 2: Who would be able to do it is me.
- 45:47Speaker 5: Do you have smelling salts, or do you know where
- 45:49Speaker 5: they are?
- 45:50Speaker 2: Well, I'm going to write a note.
- 45:51Speaker 8: If I get knocked out, sports jock gets to crack
- 45:56Speaker 8: open my smelling salt, and I give him permission.
- 45:59Speaker 3: No.
- 46:01Speaker 5: I'm not doing it.
- 46:02Speaker 2: Notary.
- 46:03Speaker 5: No. Because soon as I do it, then you're going
- 46:06Speaker 5: to sue me that I administered some smelling salt that
- 46:09Speaker 5: now took away your taste buds or your vision, which
- 46:13Speaker 5: you couldn't finish your career. But the note, though, it
- 46:16Speaker 5: skews you. It's not going to be legally binding. What's
- 46:21Speaker 5: the lady wrote as we go to commercial? What's the
- 46:23Speaker 5: lady with the president that signed the NDA but still
- 46:28Speaker 5: sued him?
- 46:29Speaker 2: Omarosa. No, Stormy Daniels. Stormy Daniels.
- 46:33Speaker 5: Oh, okay. Then they have something written in place.
- 46:36Speaker 10: I'm going to do that thing and you're going to
- 46:38Speaker 10: keep it quiet.
- 46:39Speaker 2: Okay, okay.
- 46:40Speaker 10: Sign right here. Hey, remember that time I said? I
- 46:43Speaker 10: didn't mean that.
- 46:45Speaker 2: And then you find a lawyer. And then you find
- 46:47Speaker 2: a lawyer.
- 46:48Speaker 5: A sympathetic judge. She didn't have to keep it quiet.
- 46:51Speaker 5: And we'll be back with the Sports Jock Show because
- 46:53Speaker 5: it's only valid in Utah.
- 46:55Speaker 2: In Utah. Something like that. We'll be back right after this.
- 47:04Speaker 5: On your mark, ready, set, let's go. Don't go away.
- 47:11Speaker 13: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gambias coming
- 47:14Speaker 13: up next.
- 47:16Speaker 7: And now let's talk about something exciting, life insurance. Three-quarters
- 47:20Speaker 7: of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical piece of
- 47:23Speaker 7: financial security, yet only 49% actually have life insurance.
- 47:27Speaker 27: When I was 25, me and my wife were just
- 47:29Speaker 27: getting started with our family and thought we lived forever.
- 47:32Speaker 27: Life insurance was the last thing on my mind.
- 47:34Speaker 15: What about you?
- 47:35Speaker 2: Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 47:37Speaker 27: When I was 40, with a kid in college and
- 47:39Speaker 27: bills piling up, I was worried how my family would
- 47:41Speaker 27: survive without me. That's when I made an appointment with
- 47:43Speaker 27: the insurance informant.
- 47:44Speaker 7: Information gives you power and life insurance gives your family security,
- 47:48Speaker 7: no matter what stage of life you're in.
- 47:50Speaker 27: Now that I'm older, I don't worry about whether I
- 47:52Speaker 27: leave my family with bills or benefits.
- 47:54Speaker 2: The answer is easy.
- 47:55Speaker 7: Whether you're 25 or 50, whether you earn a little
- 47:58Speaker 7: or a lot, all you need is the insurance informant
- 48:00Speaker 7: to help you build a foundation of security.
- 48:03Speaker 15: Because without you, your family will have two options.
- 48:16Speaker 22: Some people won't give you the real talk on drugs,
- 48:19Speaker 22: but it's time we know the facts. Fentanyl is killing people.
- 48:23Speaker 22: It's a powerful opioid often made illegally and commonly mixed
- 48:26Speaker 22: with illicit drugs. It can even be pressed into counterfeit
- 48:29Speaker 22: pills that resemble prescription medications. Just two milligrams, about the
- 48:34Speaker 22: size of a few grains of sand, could potentially be lethal.
- 48:37Speaker 22: This isn't an ad to scare you, but it is
- 48:39Speaker 22: an ad to make you think twice. Get the facts.
- 48:42Speaker 22: Go to realdealonfentanyl.com. This message is brought to you by
- 48:46Speaker 22: the Ad Council. You wanted to be cool, which led
- 48:48Speaker 22: you to smoking, which led to a pack a day.
- 48:52Speaker 22: Then you met that special someone, which led to starting
- 48:55Speaker 22: a life with them, which led to wanting to live longer,
- 48:59Speaker 22: which led to quitting. Then you heard you may be
- 49:02Speaker 22: at risk for lung cancer, which led you to getting
- 49:05Speaker 22: a low-dose CT scan. If you smoked, get scanned. Talk
- 49:09Speaker 22: to your doctor and learn more at savedbythescan.org. Brought to
- 49:13Speaker 22: you by the American Lung Association and the Ad Council.
- 49:18Speaker 5: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Gandy. Center Court.
- 49:25Speaker 2: On sports, news, gossip, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 49:43Speaker 5: Welcome back to the Sports Shock Show.
- 49:48Speaker 2: I'm the Sports Shock Wayne Gandy.
- 49:49Speaker 5: The NCAA confirms that the replay mistake caused Western Michigan
- 49:55Speaker 5: a week one win over Michigan. That happened in week
- 50:01Speaker 5: one where they got two attempts as a Hail Mary.
- 50:05Speaker 2: I don't get that.
- 50:06Speaker 5: I would need to talk to whoever was viewing the
- 50:09Speaker 5: camera because everybody kept asking me and I'm saying, well,
- 50:12Speaker 5: if it's a rule, I'm not saying I agree with it,
- 50:15Speaker 5: but you're saying it's a rule that the referees.
- 50:21Speaker 2: I don't understand.
- 50:22Speaker 5: So are you saying the referees didn't do the.
- 50:25Speaker 2: Rule or there was no rule?
- 50:27Speaker 5: But the rule was that the defender was out of bounds,
- 50:32Speaker 5: and as the ball touched him, the clock stops. I'ma
- 50:40Speaker 5: look more into that, but the whole rule was that, basically,
- 50:45Speaker 5: it was only because he was standing out of bounds
- 50:48Speaker 5: when the ball touched his hand, which immediately stops the clock.
- 50:55Speaker 2: That was it.
- 50:57Speaker 5: So if he hadn't caught the ball or touched the
- 50:59Speaker 5: ball and the ball sailed out of bounds, the game
- 51:02Speaker 5: would have been over. The only reason they went and
- 51:05Speaker 5: reviewed and gave them the second was because I didn't
- 51:08Speaker 5: see where you thought they was trying to bend the rule.
- 51:11Speaker 5: So is it not that rule? How do you say?
- 51:14Speaker 2: It was something about like their, like how they got
- 51:17Speaker 2: to that.
- 51:19Speaker 5: Rule. It's like the protocol of replay. Something was.
- 51:24Speaker 20: They didn't follow the rules to get to that, to
- 51:28Speaker 20: determine that. Yes, I mean, we clearly see, yes, he
- 51:31Speaker 20: was out of bounds, and he came back in and
- 51:33Speaker 20: touched the ball.
- 51:35Speaker 2: But how they got to that, it shouldn't have. I
- 51:38Speaker 2: didn't see.
- 51:39Speaker 10: All I saw was the end result, and that's Michigan
- 51:44Speaker 10: won the game. And then I started seeing the flood
- 51:50Speaker 10: of public outrage on social media. Even people who are
- 51:54Speaker 10: devout Michigan fans saying, hey, they gave Michigan a second
- 51:59Speaker 10: chance and they cheated for Michigan.
- 52:01Speaker 2: And all of that. They're not real Michigan fans.
- 52:04Speaker 10: And I honestly believe that that is the reason they
- 52:08Speaker 10: came out with this. Because what does it change? Are
- 52:10Speaker 10: they going to change the standings now?
- 52:14Speaker 5: And why were they cheating for Michigan exactly? See, I
- 52:18Speaker 5: don't know. But that's what I'm saying. As a Michigan fan,
- 52:21Speaker 5: I would never say that. They didn't institute a law
- 52:23Speaker 5: or break a rule. Well, the rule they had in place.
- 52:31Speaker 2: They used. Dash, dash, whatever, whatever. Amendment.
- 52:34Speaker 8: They made the amendment. They looked at everything and they
- 52:38Speaker 8: went together. They got together. And if it's the rule.
- 52:40Speaker 2: They said the replay. the replay protocols were not followed.
- 52:45Speaker 2: What's that?
- 52:45Speaker 5: I don't know what the replay protocol should have been.
- 52:50Speaker 2: Excuse me, go ahead.
- 52:51Speaker 20: They don't say what the replay protocol should have been,
- 52:54Speaker 20: but they're just saying they weren't followed.
- 52:55Speaker 8: And I thought in the last two minutes, it's automatic
- 52:58Speaker 8: replay or last two minutes.
- 53:00Speaker 20: It depends on what the college rule is. What the
- 53:03Speaker 20: conference may be.
- 53:05Speaker 10: And that's when you click, I agree to the terms
- 53:11Speaker 10: and conditions. This is what they're setting you up for,
- 53:14Speaker 10: the replay protocol.
- 53:15Speaker 2: You didn't read.
- 53:16Speaker 10: The replay protocol. I mean, you're not going to read
- 53:19Speaker 10: that either. The replay protocol, you can find it on
- 53:22Speaker 10: page 2007 of the rule book, and you're not going
- 53:27Speaker 10: to search through all of that stuff. And they just
- 53:30Speaker 10: say whatever, whatever, and they keep it moving because disagreeing
- 53:35Speaker 10: is unpopular now. And outrage is unpopular, so they're going
- 53:38Speaker 10: to do whatever they can to keep people calm.
- 53:40Speaker 2: You think if it was Michigan, would we have this outrage?
- 53:43Speaker 2: If it was anybody but Michigan, or what?
- 53:45Speaker 5: Well, I don't know who it is. I don't even
- 53:49Speaker 5: know what the outrage about Michigan is. I don't know
- 53:51Speaker 5: what Michigan's storyline of being evil or anything, of doing any.
- 53:56Speaker 5: I don't know where all of this comes from, and
- 53:59Speaker 5: this is why I don't even like social media. Because
- 54:03Speaker 5: y'all bring stuff into the atmosphere. about something, who don't
- 54:09Speaker 5: like Michigan other than Ohio State?
- 54:12Speaker 2: Michigan State.
- 54:14Speaker 5: No, Michigan State don't have a problem. They accept we're
- 54:16Speaker 5: the sister school of the state. They've been beaten to submission.
- 54:20Speaker 2: See, see, see, see.
- 54:23Speaker 5: So I'm trying to figure out where, and even if
- 54:25Speaker 5: it's Michigan State and Ohio State, how does that equate
- 54:28Speaker 5: to Michigan? Michigan don't have no coach. Do they have
- 54:34Speaker 5: a coach? You're the traditional powerhouse.
- 54:36Speaker 8: You have been on the top of the food chain forever,
- 54:39Speaker 8: and we're glad you're falling off.
- 54:41Speaker 2: For who?
- 54:44Speaker 5: I went to Auburn. I don't have a problem with Michigan.
- 54:46Speaker 5: Michigan wins about as much as anybody else wins.
- 54:52Speaker 10: Well, and again, a lot of it, in my opinion,
- 54:55Speaker 10: is rooted in the ability for the story to stay relevant.
- 55:01Speaker 10: because of the advent of people on social media. Now,
- 55:05Speaker 10: it may not carry for three weeks here in Georgia,
- 55:11Speaker 10: but in the state of Michigan.
- 55:13Speaker 2: And in the Ohio area.
- 55:14Speaker 10: There's so much information being gathered because we just keep
- 55:21Speaker 10: sending these electronic signals back and forth about this game
- 55:26Speaker 10: that is a week in the past now.
- 55:29Speaker 5: Two weeks.
- 55:30Speaker 2: Two weeks in the past. I don't ever want Alabama
- 55:34Speaker 2: to beat Auburn.
- 55:35Speaker 5: Ever.
- 55:36Speaker 6: Ever.
- 55:37Speaker 2: In any sport. In nothing.
- 55:39Speaker 5: But if this happened and you were telling me this
- 55:43Speaker 5: was the rule, then what you showed me on tape
- 55:49Speaker 5: was executed.
- 55:50Speaker 20: That's what I got to go by. But you skipped
- 55:53Speaker 20: steps to get to that. Whatever those steps are supposed
- 55:57Speaker 20: to be.
- 55:57Speaker 5: Whatever.
- 55:58Speaker 8: How many times have the steps been skipped.
- 56:00Speaker 2: To get to something? You just don't want to admit.
- 56:04Speaker 20: If the clock goes to stop because he came from
- 56:06Speaker 20: out of bounds, that's what we saw. But it's like, no,
- 56:09Speaker 20: we're supposed to get a note from the teacher. A
- 56:13Speaker 20: note from the teacher. The clock's going to stop. Signed
- 56:17Speaker 20: by a committee of replay officials.
- 56:19Speaker 2: I didn't want Chris.
- 56:20Speaker 5: And you got to have all that before the game ends.
- 56:22Speaker 5: I didn't want Chris Webber to call that timeout. all
- 56:27Speaker 5: those years ago. I was hoping that was a mistake.
- 56:31Speaker 5: He saw a teammate. But it happens. I couldn't go
- 56:34Speaker 5: back and reverse it. You can't do that, Chris. Y'all
- 56:37Speaker 5: ain't got no timeouts, bro.
- 56:38Speaker 2: I don't know. We can't run back to time or nothing.
- 56:42Speaker 2: You get it? I mean, it happens. And somebody who
- 56:45Speaker 2: lived through that moment thought to themselves.
- 56:46Speaker 8: No, but somebody on the sideline was doing like this,
- 56:48Speaker 8: and that's the only reason I did.
- 56:49Speaker 2: So can I get the timeout back? No, that's not
- 56:52Speaker 2: how it works.
- 56:53Speaker 10: In the future, we're going to be able to get
- 56:55Speaker 10: that timeout back. That's what they thought back then. Like,
- 56:58Speaker 10: we're going to come up with a way to change this.
- 57:01Speaker 10: Change the play that already happened.
- 57:02Speaker 5: Yes.
- 57:03Speaker 2: Okay, we'll be back with more of the Sports Talk
- 57:06Speaker 2: show right after this.
- 57:18Speaker 5: Don't go away. More of the.
- 57:20Speaker 13: Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gamby is coming up.
- 57:29Speaker 9: Next.
- 57:29Speaker 28: You said you'd never buy your kid candy from the
- 57:32Speaker 28: checkout aisle. Or forget extra diapers. And never give in
- 57:38Speaker 28: to a meltdown. You'd never lick your thumb to clean
- 57:43Speaker 28: their face. Never let them have too much screen time.
- 57:48Speaker 28: And never bribe them for just one more bite. You
- 57:54Speaker 28: say you'd never let them out in public without their
- 57:56Speaker 28: hair brushed. Never, ever become a minivan mom. And you'd
- 58:02Speaker 28: never give them your phone for a quiet dinner. So
- 58:08Speaker 28: when you say you'd never leave your child in a
- 58:10Speaker 28: hot car, know it can happen. Cars get hot fast,
- 58:16Speaker 28: and kids can be at risk in temperatures as low
- 58:18Speaker 28: as 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Never happens.
- 58:23Speaker 6: Before you leave the car, always stop, look, lock.
- 58:27Speaker 28: Brought to you by NHTSA and the Ad Council.
- 58:29Speaker 15: I actually drive better when I'm high. If anything, I'm
- 58:32Speaker 15: more careful.
- 58:33Speaker 14: That's probably what the driver who killed a four-year-old told himself.
- 58:37Speaker 14: And now he's in prison. If you feel different, you
- 58:39Speaker 14: drive different. Don't drive high. Brought to you by NHTSA
- 58:43Speaker 14: and the Ad Council.
- 58:46Speaker 4: Enough is enough. I have had enough.
- 58:50Speaker 2: Why so serious?
- 58:53Speaker 26: And we hold the world ransom for Wayne Gandy.
- 58:56Speaker 5: Excuse me while I whip this out.
- 58:58Speaker 4: Broadcasting live in Atlanta, Georgia.
- 59:03Speaker 5: This, this is the Sports Chalk Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 59:08Speaker 3: You may still be young.
- 59:27Speaker 2: Back to the Sports Talk Show.
- 59:29Speaker 5: I'm the Sports Talk Wayne Gandy. Good morning to you
- 59:32Speaker 5: out there and listening in. The cast is in a groove.
- 59:36Speaker 5: Great show so far. If you missed any of that
- 59:39Speaker 5: first hour, get ready. When the show goes off, Comanche
- 59:43Speaker 5: Greg uploads, and you get to hear it all over again.
- 59:47Speaker 5: Big Kenny, the bad producer in the studio, week three
- 59:51Speaker 5: of college football coming up. Some interesting games, Bama, FSU.
- 59:57Speaker 5: They put out somebody, I guess, AI'd something about a
- 1:00:01Speaker 5: moving truck in front of Mike Norvell, the head coach
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: of Florida State's house. See, if somebody had shown me that,
- 1:00:09Speaker 5: I'd have been laughing. Is that violent? That might be real.
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: I'd have been laughing. No, you're in trouble. It might
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: be a real moving trip. Because you are.
- 1:00:17Speaker 8: A sports analysis in the sports world, and you should
- 1:00:21Speaker 8: be unbiased.
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: That's insensitive. Yes, you're not being unbiased.
- 1:00:26Speaker 5: They already fired the AD at Florida State last week.
- 1:00:29Speaker 5: Are you laughing about that? About somebody getting fired.
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: Come on, man.
- 1:00:35Speaker 5: He's out of a job.
- 1:00:37Speaker 10: This man is lost in his job. You're not thinking
- 1:00:39Speaker 10: about the impact on his community.
- 1:00:41Speaker 8: He's not going to get the contract, the extension that
- 1:00:44Speaker 8: he was.
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: You are very insensitive.
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: University of Georgia taking on Arkansas. That's Saturday. The Hurricanes,
- 1:00:52Speaker 5: who found a new deal. They're back with Nike, if
- 1:00:55Speaker 5: that matters. I guess, you know, based on what you think,
- 1:01:00Speaker 5: sometimes Auburn a couple years ago was with Under Armour.
- 1:01:04Speaker 5: Now they're with Nike. So Nike seems like they're trying
- 1:01:07Speaker 5: to find their way back with their international sales down.
- 1:01:12Speaker 5: You might not know, but they've been struggling a little bit.
- 1:01:15Speaker 10: Well, Nike was fine until everybody came along with it.
- 1:01:19Speaker 10: You know they're making seven-year-olds die. Construct them shoes.
- 1:01:23Speaker 8: And then everybody was like, hey, man.
- 1:01:27Speaker 5: Well, I was reading why, and they said because a
- 1:01:31Speaker 5: lot of the shoe companies for the jogging, the hookah,
- 1:01:36Speaker 5: and the icy on, that's what it is, the ice
- 1:01:39Speaker 5: on cloud, have kind of really jumped into that walk, jog, shoot,
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: and kind of taken a lot of that. their business
- 1:01:50Speaker 5: and also in China with their market, their citizens and
- 1:01:57Speaker 5: that side of the world is starting to buy their
- 1:02:00Speaker 5: shoe product. And that's why we saw guys, I think
- 1:02:04Speaker 5: Dwyane Wade, I think Steph Curry. There's been a couple
- 1:02:08Speaker 5: of guys jumping over there. The shoe they're endorsing is
- 1:02:12Speaker 5: not selling here. But it's selling over there. over there.
- 1:02:18Speaker 5: And so that market used to be more of Nike's market.
- 1:02:23Speaker 5: But as they have decided to produce their own, some
- 1:02:27Speaker 5: of the sales.
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: So Nike. And Nike just trying to stay afloat.
- 1:02:30Speaker 10: Man, them kids ain't seven, that boy was nine years old.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: Better kiss the ring.
- 1:02:33Speaker 5: Again, Phil Knight. So Phil Knight, like 90 years old. Whoever,
- 1:02:41Speaker 5: it might be a sign on the board.
- 1:02:43Speaker 10: They just keep telling Phil to sign here. Dad, just
- 1:02:46Speaker 10: sign here.
- 1:02:47Speaker 5: Sign where?
- 1:02:49Speaker 10: Just sign here. Just initial it. You don't have to
- 1:02:51Speaker 10: really just initial it.
- 1:02:53Speaker 5: So the Hurricanes against Wake tomorrow night. But I'm quite
- 1:02:58Speaker 5: sure there's a couple of games tonight as well on
- 1:03:01Speaker 5: the college level. Speaking of big games, LSU, Ole Miss.
- 1:03:05Speaker 5: This is just all about Lane Kiffin. Lane Kiffin, at
- 1:03:08Speaker 5: least this year, doing a little of the Deion Sanders,
- 1:03:13Speaker 5: the prime time. If you watch some of the games, stars,
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: even some rumors that President Trump might show up to
- 1:03:21Speaker 5: this game down there between LSU. I know at that
- 1:03:25Speaker 5: first game, you had a lot of some of that
- 1:03:28Speaker 5: show they watched that's coming out next year, and you
- 1:03:31Speaker 5: had some country singers. It's becoming the place. to be.
- 1:03:38Speaker 5: And when you talk about the Angel Reese's, the Shaq's,
- 1:03:43Speaker 5: the Odell Beckham Jr's, the Jamar Chase's, you got a
- 1:03:46Speaker 5: lot of.
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: Sports star power already.
- 1:03:49Speaker 5: So now you have some stars on there and you
- 1:03:52Speaker 5: see how powerful LSU, you're not really thinking of it,
- 1:03:55Speaker 5: because you still got that Cajun, you know, hey baby,
- 1:04:00Speaker 5: ain't thought about it, but LSU is just as big
- 1:04:04Speaker 5: of a beacon.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: In football, in sports.
- 1:04:10Speaker 5: Kim Mulkey and the team, like the gymnastic team with
- 1:04:15Speaker 5: the young lady. So they are a beacon. You've never,
- 1:04:18Speaker 5: maybe because you've never been about on Rouge. Who is
- 1:04:21Speaker 5: your guy? Canes, raising Canes. That's where they started. And
- 1:04:25Speaker 5: you see where they're flooding the market.
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: He's looking disappointed at you for some reason. Who is
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: your guy? Who is your guy? Oh, the man.
- 1:04:32Speaker 5: Jamarcus Russell.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: Bring him out. Mr. Set it off. Bootsy. He going
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: to be running out the.
- 1:04:38Speaker 5: Bootsy lives here.
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: He's a Baton Rouge.
- 1:04:42Speaker 5: He is a LSU. He lives here now. He is
- 1:04:44Speaker 5: part of the... There's hardly any... He was there last week.
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: Him and Luane was there.
- 1:04:49Speaker 8: And the fans, they all are asking that Bootsy lead
- 1:04:53Speaker 8: the team out of the top.
- 1:04:54Speaker 5: Can you understand, but for the sports shop, between Bootsy
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: being on trial for murder... Boosie's been on trial for
- 1:05:04Speaker 5: brandishing a weapon. Boosie's been banned from an arena here
- 1:05:08Speaker 5: locally for beating up a man on stage. Boosie is
- 1:05:13Speaker 5: a champion of the strip club. He's been arrested for.
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: Women abuse.
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: So why would I see Boosie as something to label
- 1:05:29Speaker 5: LSU as without him at least being alumni. No, no, no,
- 1:05:40Speaker 5: I'm asking you for me. I don't care what Lane does.
- 1:05:42Speaker 5: Lane don't hold my morals. Lane is an unmoral man.
- 1:05:50Speaker 5: We seen it. Said it all. So I'm not surprised
- 1:05:54Speaker 5: he's aligned with Boopsy. Because he champions all that stuff
- 1:05:58Speaker 5: that Boosie, maybe except the attempted murder part, but he's
- 1:06:01Speaker 5: with everything else. Set it off.
- 1:06:04Speaker 10: And I ain't judging because we done all been with
- 1:06:06Speaker 10: everything else but attempted murder.
- 1:06:08Speaker 6: Am I right?
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: We done all, you know, you know.
- 1:06:13Speaker 5: But he's over here thinking that's intentional.
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: I wouldn't. Well, LaWayne, he was there too. He's a
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: bad LSU player.
- 1:06:22Speaker 20: The game is in Oxford, so it doesn't. All that
- 1:06:27Speaker 20: is not even really important to the storyline of the game.
- 1:06:33Speaker 10: And this is, I think, sometimes where the panel gets
- 1:06:43Speaker 10: bogged down when you say things like that, is you
- 1:06:47Speaker 10: say it like Boosie running out of the tunnel with
- 1:06:50Speaker 10: LSU is the store.
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: Like, that is the attraction. That's just a part of
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: the excitement.
- 1:06:57Speaker 10: What I'm saying, and it's a very small part of
- 1:07:00Speaker 10: the LSU excitement now.
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: No, it's not.
- 1:07:02Speaker 10: The LSU fan base that loves Boosie may, I'm saying
- 1:07:06Speaker 10: because it's a small part of the fan base who
- 1:07:09Speaker 10: loves Boosie.
- 1:07:11Speaker 5: Have you, okay. I don't even know a lot of
- 1:07:18Speaker 5: people that know Boosie outside of you. I've never written
- 1:07:24Speaker 5: down in all the years I've been working with Comanche
- 1:07:27Speaker 5: Greg for him to play a Boosie song. For a while,
- 1:07:32Speaker 5: I had to be reminded which song Boosie makes. I
- 1:07:36Speaker 5: never bought a track. You could DJ a whole day
- 1:07:41Speaker 5: and never drop his song, and I would never think
- 1:07:44Speaker 5: I missed it. Something you have to realize are uniquely you.
- 1:07:51Speaker 5: I learned that when I went to Auburn that everybody
- 1:07:54Speaker 5: does not eat possum.
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: Blew his mind.
- 1:07:58Speaker 5: In my time, everybody eats possum and coon, and roadkill
- 1:08:02Speaker 5: is a delicacy. From my little town of Haines City,
- 1:08:06Speaker 5: and then I get to Auburn, and I would make
- 1:08:08Speaker 5: that little joke, and people, even from country towns.
- 1:08:12Speaker 10: I was amazed that as a senior in high school,
- 1:08:17Speaker 10: none of the class in Mississippi had trafficked drugs.
- 1:08:20Speaker 5: I was, what?
- 1:08:22Speaker 10: Y'all 16, 17 years old and ain't never ran a
- 1:08:27Speaker 10: pack across state lines? The hell are you doing here?
- 1:08:31Speaker 10: And they all were looking at me with like, What
- 1:08:35Speaker 10: are drugs? Like you actually have seen drugs?
- 1:08:38Speaker 5: So you're talking about like he's Jay-Z or Beyonce. To
- 1:08:43Speaker 5: the state of Louisiana?
- 1:08:45Speaker 11: No.
- 1:08:47Speaker 5: Just probably to those people who like him in Louisiana.
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: Because I was going to say. Until you reminded me
- 1:08:54Speaker 5: he's from there, I keep thinking Bootsy is from Atlanta.
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: Well, the fan base, I'm just. If they had a
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: choice between Shipoozy.
- 1:09:02Speaker 5: LSU fan base. What fan base? My daughter is 29.
- 1:09:06Speaker 5: She loves music. I said the LSU. And there's no
- 1:09:09Speaker 5: time in her lifetime. I've sent her to about 100 concerts.
- 1:09:14Speaker 5: Has she's ever forwarded me, I need to go see Bootsy.
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: He's nothing.
- 1:09:22Speaker 5: He's more local than local. If he wouldn't act like
- 1:09:27Speaker 5: a monkey. Ooh, he said the M word.
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: He wouldn't even get any attention.
- 1:09:36Speaker 5: If he would sit there like a civilized person at
- 1:09:38Speaker 5: the Holtz State Farm Arena, nobody would know he was there.
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: He gonna call him when we go to break.
- 1:09:43Speaker 5: Watch.
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: You have to do something to call him now.
- 1:09:46Speaker 5: But for attention, he had some guy.
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: Bring him a toolbox full of jewelry one.
- 1:09:57Speaker 5: Night, set it on the court, and decided to put
- 1:10:02Speaker 5: his jewelry on on the court.
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: Like a monkey.
- 1:10:08Speaker 9: Wow.
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: Wow. He said it two times.
- 1:10:11Speaker 5: M word.
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: Two times.
- 1:10:15Speaker 5: And you needed me to inject. And we've wasted five
- 1:10:18Speaker 5: minutes of a great show.
- 1:10:22Speaker 10: Eric Badgett said, come on, bad producer. You're sounding like
- 1:10:25Speaker 10: a bad producer.
- 1:10:27Speaker 5: We'll be back with more of the Sports Shop show
- 1:10:30Speaker 5: right after this.
- 1:10:36Speaker 15: Everybody jump, jump, jump, jump, jump, jump, jump.
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: Everybody jump.
- 1:10:44Speaker 5: Don't go away.
- 1:10:44Speaker 13: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gamby is

- 1:13:06Speaker 2: It's your birthday.
- 1:13:07Speaker 5: We're going to party like it's your birthday. We're going
- 1:13:09Speaker 5: to sip a card like it's your birthday.
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: And you know we don't give a fuck.
- 1:13:15Speaker 5: Welcome back to the Sports Talk Show. A couple of
- 1:13:17Speaker 5: birthdays here going into weekend.
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: Serge Ibaka.
- 1:13:20Speaker 5: And when I saw this Serge Ibaka, I just thought
- 1:13:22Speaker 5: about LeBron James. And it added to some of his greatness.
- 1:13:26Speaker 5: Steph Curry and Paul, any of these guys. Serge Ibaka
- 1:13:30Speaker 5: is no longer in the league at 37. And we
- 1:13:32Speaker 5: still have guys his age and older. Kevin Durant knows
- 1:13:37Speaker 5: guys still just as dominant as when he left.
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: Serge Ibaka was a great power forward. 37 years old.
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: Tony Cuoco. is 58, Billy Sims, who is Billy Sims? Okay,
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: I'll let you go. Hey, great running back, Oklahoma Sooners,
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: Detroit Lions. Okay, okay.
- 1:13:56Speaker 5: Number 20. 71 years of age, Greg is like, man,
- 1:13:59Speaker 5: thank you for bailing me out.
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: Oh, you knew it?
- 1:14:02Speaker 5: Oklahoma. Okay, oh yeah, I forgot. I forgot he from the,
- 1:14:09Speaker 5: I'm sorry about that, Comanche. You know, some of the
- 1:14:12Speaker 5: Oklahoma Sooners, 71 years old, Billy Sims. A great running back.
- 1:14:16Speaker 5: Jimmy Fallon is 52. Sinai Lathan, 55. The great Trey Young.
- 1:14:24Speaker 5: And I'm looking forward to seeing Trey play. Hopefully he's
- 1:14:27Speaker 5: healthy with the Washington Wizards. I always keep wanting to
- 1:14:32Speaker 5: call them the Bullets because I never really understood who decided, oh,
- 1:14:38Speaker 5: it's too much violence in Washington.
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: You in Washington. The magic tricks. The magic.
- 1:14:42Speaker 20: He was friends with. a foreign diplomat who was shot
- 1:14:47Speaker 20: and he wanted to change the name okay now i
- 1:14:49Speaker 20: guess i thought it was just based on the local
- 1:14:51Speaker 20: um that's what they told crime but you're saying he
- 1:14:56Speaker 20: has actually had a personal experience okay now that now
- 1:15:01Speaker 20: i can stop even i can remove that image i
- 1:15:03Speaker 20: just thought it was public outcry and i'm sitting here
- 1:15:06Speaker 20: like well It's not my problem that Big Kenny and
- 1:15:09Speaker 20: them like to put in that work every week.
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: Somebody give me the truth about the Redskins.
- 1:15:13Speaker 10: I was saying if it could change the team name,
- 1:15:16Speaker 10: then Chicago ought to change the name of their team
- 1:15:18Speaker 10: every other week.
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: That shouldn't be aggressive.
- 1:15:21Speaker 29: No.
- 1:15:22Speaker 5: No aggressive animals like bulls. No bulls or nothing. We
- 1:15:25Speaker 5: ought to be. No cubs.
- 1:15:26Speaker 10: No, we are the hummingbirds something. We don't want to
- 1:15:29Speaker 10: be nothing but that growl. We just, the kittens.
- 1:15:35Speaker 5: The sardines. The something. Something that's docile. Trey Young is
- 1:15:41Speaker 5: 28 years old. Jeremy Irons, great actor, 78. Columbus Short
- 1:15:46Speaker 5: is 44. DeJounte Murray, who used to be here in
- 1:15:50Speaker 5: Atlanta with Trey, is 30. Robert Kimdiche. We were talking
- 1:15:55Speaker 5: about Grayson. Grayson, Robert Kimdiche. He was the number one recruit.
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: Ole Miss.
- 1:16:01Speaker 5: All the way back in his day at Ole Miss.
- 1:16:04Speaker 5: And you see what it did for him. He's 32.
- 1:16:07Speaker 5: You see what it did, man.
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: Jumping out them windows.
- 1:16:09Speaker 5: And he was worried. Walmart robbing somebody. Wasn't that the
- 1:16:12Speaker 5: last time we talked about Robert?
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: Got some milk.
- 1:16:14Speaker 5: Locally.
- 1:16:15Speaker 9: Hey, hey, hey.
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: Oh, wasn't he getting some coconut milk or something? Stole
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: some milk.
- 1:16:18Speaker 5: Stole some groceries or something. I ain't judging because we
- 1:16:20Speaker 5: done all stuck somebody up in the Walmart. Am I right?
- 1:16:23Speaker 5: Something like that, right? Am I right?
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: We done all hit the jail. And he had money
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: in his pocket, too. Wasn't that the story?
- 1:16:28Speaker 10: We done all hit the jail, get the Walmart. Y'all
- 1:16:30Speaker 10: know him.
- 1:16:31Speaker 5: Ben Carson, 75. Belle Bill DeVoe. Ricky Bale is 59.
- 1:16:37Speaker 5: Is it Asia or Aja Tyler, the actress? Aisha.
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: Aisha Tyler, 56.
- 1:16:44Speaker 5: Exhibit, 52. Holly Robinson-Pete, 62. Angela Simmons is 39. Jason
- 1:16:53Speaker 5: Sudeikis is 51. Jada Pickett-Smith. Ted Lasso really did jump on,
- 1:17:00Speaker 5: didn't he? His career took a big, he probably didn't
- 1:17:05Speaker 5: even see that coming.
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: He was working and doing some stuff.
- 1:17:08Speaker 10: Yeah, he was trying to get some work, and then
- 1:17:10Speaker 10: here come Ted Lasso, and now he on some, man,
- 1:17:13Speaker 10: we going into, they about to make a movie.
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: Oh, are they?
- 1:17:17Speaker 11: Oh, no.
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: Oh, okay. I wouldn't be surprised.
- 1:17:19Speaker 5: But Ted Lasso is 51. Jada Pickett-Smith, 55. Rasheed, our
- 1:17:25Speaker 5: man Wallace, is 52. Phil Jackson is 81. Mark Brunel, 56.
- 1:17:34Speaker 5: Alex Ovechkin is 41, the great hockey player.
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: And the MVP.
- 1:17:42Speaker 5: The future Hall of Famer, Patrick Mahomes, is 31 years
- 1:17:48Speaker 5: of age. And ACL, MCL, LCL, all the surgeries, hey,
- 1:17:54Speaker 5: Technology is something that Patrick Mahomes was able to take
- 1:17:58Speaker 5: the field last week and run around and dive in
- 1:18:00Speaker 5: the end zone. Guys from 1982 were jealous.
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: They would have that.
- 1:18:07Speaker 5: Same surgery and not play again. Ever.
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: Patrick Mahomes, week one. Come on, Michael Penix, why you
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: ain't back? I know my body. I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: I know my body.
- 1:18:20Speaker 5: Hey, whatever. You're being insensitive towards his knees.
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: Whatever.
- 1:18:24Speaker 5: He even told you he know his body. His knees
- 1:18:27Speaker 5: have feelings. Floyd Mayweather's young daughter. Wait, wait, wait. We
- 1:18:32Speaker 5: didn't get.
- 1:18:33Speaker 6: Oh, Comanche.
- 1:18:33Speaker 5: I'm going to let Comanche Gregg clock in.
- 1:18:35Speaker 26: Ooh.
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: He ain't ready. It's been a while. He ain't prepared.
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: It's a non-awaited.
- 1:18:39Speaker 6: Oh.
- 1:18:40Speaker 5: Oh. See a little mature for your man. A little
- 1:18:44Speaker 5: slide off.
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: A little cougaring. Cougaring on the weekend.
- 1:18:48Speaker 21: Okay now.
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: Careful now. there, sir.
- 1:18:52Speaker 5: Careful with it. Adam Jada. Okay, okay. So Nye Lathan.
- 1:18:58Speaker 5: And all Stan Lathan big money that he just got
- 1:19:01Speaker 5: laying around.
- 1:19:02Speaker 22: Yeah.
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: The daddy.
- 1:19:03Speaker 5: A lot of people don't know this. Nye and Stan Lathan.
- 1:19:06Speaker 5: That's his daughter.
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: When they talk about nepo babies. Yeah, they exclude her.
- 1:19:11Speaker 5: It's like everyone. There's no color.
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: We don't do that.
- 1:19:15Speaker 5: There is no, excuse me? Everybody's connected in that world
- 1:19:21Speaker 5: of Hollywood. Why wouldn't I?
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: It's acting. That's what it's built on. She earned her.
- 1:19:26Speaker 5: It's actually built on Ice Cube putting Ice Cube on.
- 1:19:30Speaker 20: Is that not true? Lil Ice, get up there and
- 1:19:32Speaker 20: say something. I mean, they try to say like, oh,
- 1:19:34Speaker 20: he had to earn the role. To play his dad.
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: Well, she did some reads. She had to go do
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: a read.
- 1:19:40Speaker 5: She didn't just get, oh, you're here.
- 1:19:42Speaker 10: Listen, she didn't do the cattle call read. We got
- 1:19:46Speaker 10: three people we considering. Hey, I want Sanaa to read.
- 1:19:49Speaker 10: We got four people we considering. And she's in one
- 1:19:56Speaker 10: of the four. And I like this girl. Did you
- 1:20:00Speaker 10: see Sanaa? Okay, it's between Sanaa and this girl. And okay,
- 1:20:06Speaker 10: so now is it- So you're.
- 1:20:07Speaker 5: Saying when they called for a nine-year-old to play a role,
- 1:20:11Speaker 5: they needed a nine-year-old black girl to play a role.
- 1:20:14Speaker 5: She didn't run down town to the- No.
- 1:20:17Speaker 10: We asked the executive producer who's got a nine-year-old black daughter,
- 1:20:23Speaker 10: was she still acting.
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: As your daughter's still doing? Okay, okay.
- 1:20:27Speaker 21: Yeah.
- 1:20:28Speaker 5: You think she's ready for this role?
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: Am I still executive producing? Hell yeah, she's ready for
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: the role. Get some of my money back.
- 1:20:37Speaker 5: Floyd Mayweather, I was reading his daughter for that stabbing.
- 1:20:41Speaker 5: I remember we reported on this that happened a couple
- 1:20:44Speaker 5: of years ago. $ 50 million settlement, the judge. Dropped that
- 1:20:49Speaker 5: gavel on his daughter for that NBA young boy when
- 1:20:54Speaker 5: she stabbed that young lady.
- 1:20:55Speaker 13: $ 50 million.
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: That's dropping the hammer, right? Ooh, yeah.
- 1:21:01Speaker 5: That means that they're counting on when Floyd passed. We
- 1:21:06Speaker 5: got a plan.
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: I'm finna have to go.
- 1:21:08Speaker 10: Hold on, I ain't got it now, but you might
- 1:21:10Speaker 10: have it in there. I'm finna go collect the knives,
- 1:21:12Speaker 10: give my girl some mace. No, no, we ain't gonna
- 1:21:16Speaker 10: stab nobody. $ 50 million?
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: $ 50 million. And I'm sure she ain't got it. I'm
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: sure she ain't got it.
- 1:21:24Speaker 11: No.
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: But she will.
- 1:21:28Speaker 5: Anything that Floyd put in her name, she'd have to
- 1:21:30Speaker 5: just live off him with no kind of, ever touch
- 1:21:33Speaker 5: her bank.
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: You just move back in with me. She'd have to
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: go back to cash. $ 50 million.
- 1:21:41Speaker 5: Because nothing ever touched her account.
- 1:21:44Speaker 10: And she probably looking at NBA young boy now like,
- 1:21:46Speaker 10: you ain't that sexy.
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: You really, I was tripping. I was really, I was young,
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: and I was tripping. And she got a baby behind her.
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: We'll be back. And didn't he move out the country? No,
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: he in Utah. Kind of like moving out the country.
- 1:22:00Speaker 5: We'll be back. We'll be back right after this.
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: We'll be back. Don't go away.
- 1:22:15Speaker 13: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gamby is
- 1:22:18Speaker 13: coming up next.
- 1:22:21Speaker 18: Remember, always be generous with the nutmeg.
- 1:22:24Speaker 15: Just eyeball it.
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:22:27Speaker 25: Mom's wisdom has served you well, but now it may
- 1:22:30Speaker 25: be your turn to guide her.
- 1:22:32Speaker 29: Hey, I'm worried about Mom. She keeps forgetting her famous
- 1:22:35Speaker 29: sweet potato pie recipe.
- 1:22:37Speaker 15: Some things come with age, sis. And some don't.
- 1:22:40Speaker 25: Knowing the early signs of Alzheimer's in a loved one

- 1:22:52Speaker 29: Choosing to buy a gun was not a decision I
- 1:22:54Speaker 29: took lightly. But with everything going on, I really wanted
- 1:22:57Speaker 29: to feel like I could protect myself. I hadn't thought
- 1:23:00Speaker 29: about the danger of an unlocked gun in my own home, too.
- 1:23:04Speaker 5: Mia, where are your napkins? Not that drawer. Unless anyone
- 1:23:09Speaker 5: needs a gun.
- 1:23:12Speaker 29: Now, I always lock my gun to keep everyone safe.

- 1:23:21Speaker 15: I'm a pretty great multitasker.
- 1:23:23Speaker 11: I can wash dishes and do laundry. I can roller
- 1:23:26Speaker 11: skate while walking my dog. I can even order lunch
- 1:23:30Speaker 11: while doing my homework. But I can't use my phone
- 1:23:34Speaker 11: while driving. A distracted driver is one of the leading
- 1:23:36Speaker 11: causes of death in the United States. So when it
- 1:23:39Speaker 11: comes to driving, please, don't be a multitasker.
- 1:23:42Speaker 15: Don't drive distracted.
- 1:23:43Speaker 7: A message brought to you by the National Highway Traffic

- 1:23:51Speaker 15: All right, son, time to put out this campfire. Dad,
- 1:23:54Speaker 15: we learned about this in school. Oh, did you now? Okay,
- 1:23:57Speaker 15: what's first?
- 1:23:58Speaker 6: Smokey Bear said to... First, drown it with a bucket
- 1:24:01Speaker 6: of water, then stir it with a shovel.
- 1:24:03Speaker 15: Wow, you sound just like him.
- 1:24:06Speaker 6: Then he said, if it's still warm, then do it again.
- 1:24:09Speaker 15: Where can I learn all this?
- 1:24:11Speaker 25: It's all on SmokeyBear.com with other wildfire prevention tips.
- 1:24:15Speaker 5: Because only you can prevent wildfires.
- 1:24:18Speaker 15: Brought to you by the USDA Forest Service, your state forester,
- 1:24:20Speaker 15: and the Ad Council.
- 1:24:23Speaker 5: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Gandy.
- 1:24:26Speaker 4: Players Lounge.
- 1:24:31Speaker 3: You have been given full access to the Players Lounge
- 1:24:34Speaker 3: on the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:24:37Speaker 6: You can't touch this.
- 1:24:54Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Sports Talk Show.
- 1:24:56Speaker 5: I'm the Sports Talk Wayne Gandy. Over the last couple
- 1:24:59Speaker 5: of days, a lot of conversation. Enough to cause 200,000
- 1:25:05Speaker 5: Instagram followers to stop following Sydney Sweeney. So that takes
- 1:25:11Speaker 5: her down to about 500 million. Billion, yeah.
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: So she lost 200,000, but she's still doing good.
- 1:25:19Speaker 5: It's like Elon Musk losing a million dollars a day
- 1:25:22Speaker 5: on the market.
- 1:25:24Speaker 10: That's equivalent to change falling out of my pocket between
- 1:25:29Speaker 10: the seats of the car.
- 1:25:32Speaker 5: And all this stems from Sydney Sweeney. Herself has done
- 1:25:39Speaker 5: a campaign where she is portraying what a woman in
- 1:25:44Speaker 5: sports look like in various ads for Norvig, which is
- 1:25:50Speaker 5: a betting app.
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: And I'm quite.
- 1:25:54Speaker 5: Sure if you Google it, you will see the pictures
- 1:25:56Speaker 5: of her. She takes one on a goal, basketball goal.
- 1:26:01Speaker 5: She takes one with some footballs, different sports, where it
- 1:26:06Speaker 5: says Norvig, just sports. And then a lot of people,
- 1:26:10Speaker 5: all the way up to people like Kelly Stafford, the
- 1:26:15Speaker 5: wife of Matt Stafford of the Rams, different athletes in
- 1:26:20Speaker 5: various sports. criticizing her for doing the ad based on
- 1:26:27Speaker 5: their portrayal as though she is sending out the wrong
- 1:26:33Speaker 5: signal about female athletes. If you heard me earlier, it's
- 1:26:39Speaker 5: something I've been questioning. I've even proposed to the guys
- 1:26:43Speaker 5: here with me on why. We've seen it in various ways.
- 1:26:52Speaker 5: We see it as soon as someone does something in
- 1:26:56Speaker 5: the Olympics, as soon as someone wins a championship, as
- 1:27:00Speaker 5: soon as an athlete, especially on the female side, achieves anything,
- 1:27:06Speaker 5: they are in some kind of quickly posture of a
- 1:27:12Speaker 5: bathing suit. We saw the great Serena Williams doing the
- 1:27:17Speaker 5: body issue. Megan Rapinoe, Miss Fight the Power on everything.
- 1:27:25Speaker 5: Sue Bird, the head of FIBA team, the women's basketball
- 1:27:32Speaker 5: USA team, the Hall of Famer, the great Sue Bird.
- 1:27:35Speaker 5: Don't take nothing away from her. The legend of Sue Bird.
- 1:27:39Speaker 5: And all those ladies who are icons when you talk
- 1:27:44Speaker 5: about them, all run and find themselves in some kind
- 1:27:49Speaker 5: of scandalous clothing. I've asked you guys, how does that
- 1:27:53Speaker 5: correlate on different shows? Why is it that? As soon
- 1:28:00Speaker 5: as somebody, a tennis star, whether she wins or not,
- 1:28:03Speaker 5: if she gets some attention, it's.
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: Some kind of.
- 1:28:07Speaker 5: Nude ad or suggestive sexual ad. Now, Sydney Sweeney, the actress, she,
- 1:28:18Speaker 5: does this as a company for this company, Norwig, and
- 1:28:22Speaker 5: now Big Kenny, Comanche, Bad Producer, all of a sudden,
- 1:28:27Speaker 5: you're displaying, objectifying women of sport.
- 1:28:34Speaker 2: Why is that now? Why is it now?
- 1:28:36Speaker 5: Is it just because, i so if i don't play
- 1:28:38Speaker 5: sports i can't actually do something is that what you're
- 1:28:42Speaker 5: saying comanche uh i think it's.
- 1:28:51Speaker 20: It depends on like the the the audience that you're
- 1:28:55Speaker 20: going for with that kind of ad um And I
- 1:28:59Speaker 20: think some women found it, if they find it offensive, yeah,
- 1:29:03Speaker 20: they see the sexualizing, objectifying. And I don't think it
- 1:29:11Speaker 20: was marketed. The commercial is not marketed towards women specifically.
- 1:29:18Speaker 20: So they're speaking out against it. Well, it wasn't for you. Yeah,
- 1:29:23Speaker 20: you saw it, but you don't have to you don't
- 1:29:27Speaker 20: have to download this app or sign up for it
- 1:29:29Speaker 20: or anything like that.
- 1:29:30Speaker 5: We saw it goes all the way down to what
- 1:29:33Speaker 5: they call WAGs. Patrick Mahomes' wife.
- 1:29:39Speaker 2: Wives and girlfriend.
- 1:29:40Speaker 5: Was in bikini, photo shoot, Sports Illustrated. Swimsuit edition. Why
- 1:29:49Speaker 5: isn't that? So you're saying if I take Sandy Sweeney
- 1:29:53Speaker 5: out of these ads and I actually have an athlete
- 1:29:58Speaker 5: if I took a basket in WNBA player and put
- 1:30:01Speaker 5: them on top of the goal in the same pose,
- 1:30:04Speaker 5: I didn't just go around to the different ads and
- 1:30:07Speaker 5: I add it to be a, then it's not objectifying.
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: It's objectifying for a different reason.
- 1:30:15Speaker 10: Now, listen, Again, and we're going to coin the phrase
- 1:30:21Speaker 10: AI outrage. You can't tell either that or society lying
- 1:30:25Speaker 10: to me. You can't tell me the same society that
- 1:30:29Speaker 10: used to push the swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated as
- 1:30:34Speaker 10: the one time. A year we put this out, it's
- 1:30:38Speaker 10: that time again, Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue. And then that
- 1:30:43Speaker 10: wasn't enough. We doubled down on the body issue.
- 1:30:46Speaker 3: Yes, sir.
- 1:30:47Speaker 10: Where we just going to take the swimsuit out of
- 1:30:49Speaker 10: there completely.
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: And every athlete. But the body issue is athletes. Yeah,
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: and that's because. But not Kelly Stafford and Patrick Mahone's wife, Brittany.
- 1:30:59Speaker 5: It's Brittany.
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: Wives and girls.
- 1:31:01Speaker 5: It's Brittany Mahone.
- 1:31:02Speaker 2: But when they do it. No, it's not different. When
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: they do it.
- 1:31:06Speaker 10: You tried to make it seem like it was all
- 1:31:08Speaker 10: about empowerment and me taking control of how I'm seen
- 1:31:13Speaker 10: and me not being sexualized, but me being seen as
- 1:31:18Speaker 10: powerful and athletic and fluid and all of these things
- 1:31:22Speaker 10: that you thought would help sell a magazine to people
- 1:31:25Speaker 10: who were, uh, wanting to be seen as sensible and moral.
- 1:31:31Speaker 10: But you put a Sweeney, a Sidney Sweeney on, uh,
- 1:31:36Speaker 10: a sports app and it's for guys who just want
- 1:31:39Speaker 10: to see it. Sidney Sweeney naked. And now all of
- 1:31:43Speaker 10: a sudden it's displaying when she don't play sports. So
- 1:31:46Speaker 10: don't worry about showing female athletes in the wrong light.
- 1:31:49Speaker 10: It's just Cindy Sweeney doing what she does. Well, she's
- 1:31:52Speaker 10: an actress and a model and she's just doing what
- 1:31:54Speaker 10: she does.
- 1:31:55Speaker 8: And I think they, a little, because she's showing that
- 1:31:58Speaker 8: she is a real woman and it's, tied into sports.
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: That's my opinion.
- 1:32:04Speaker 8: But these are the same people, you gotta understand, that
- 1:32:07Speaker 8: was applauding Megan Thee Stallion when she's out.
- 1:32:10Speaker 5: I don't understand what's a real woman.
- 1:32:13Speaker 8: All of them are women. Well, a female. You know,
- 1:32:15Speaker 8: this thing with the WNBA is going on. All of
- 1:32:18Speaker 8: them are female. But they want to say female. They
- 1:32:21Speaker 8: don't like the word female as we've been told. But
- 1:32:24Speaker 8: you said woman, so all of them are real women.
- 1:32:27Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, she is a woman. It's advertising. as
- 1:32:31Speaker 2: a wonderful sport. So I don't get it.
- 1:32:34Speaker 8: I'm going to digress.
- 1:32:39Speaker 5: On that.
- 1:32:42Speaker 9: One.
- 1:32:44Speaker 2: Am I being insensitive by laughing?
- 1:32:46Speaker 11: Yes.
- 1:32:46Speaker 10: You should be laughing. They told you about me laughing.
- 1:32:50Speaker 10: Your friends in Florida said stop being insensitive. My desire
- 1:32:53Speaker 10: to be more insensitive is only growing.
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: At this point. But I mean, you know.
- 1:32:59Speaker 5: I'm just, as I have said, I'm always, and we
- 1:33:02Speaker 5: will always go. We just went through this with our
- 1:33:05Speaker 5: local team, the Hawks, and Magic City Night. All of
- 1:33:09Speaker 5: it is objectifying women.
- 1:33:11Speaker 20: Did you hear about the new program?
- 1:33:14Speaker 5: Literally, it is actually, I saw Shannon, Joe Johnson, and
- 1:33:22Speaker 5: Chad Ochocinco. where they had decided, okay, we're going to
- 1:33:26Speaker 5: do a live show, and they decided to do it
- 1:33:28Speaker 5: from the strip club. Strip clubs, regardless of your level
- 1:33:37Speaker 5: of what you think, are the poster child for objectifying
- 1:33:47Speaker 5: a man or a woman. So it doesn't matter whether
- 1:33:51Speaker 5: you're at a male strip club or a female the
- 1:33:55Speaker 5: Chippendale dancers.
- 1:33:58Speaker 2: You are objectifying.
- 1:34:03Speaker 5: Sports Illustrated, swimsuit model, is an objectifying periodical. It comes
- 1:34:14Speaker 5: with your subscription.
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: It do.
- 1:34:17Speaker 5: So I'm not saying go out and burn it. But
- 1:34:20Speaker 5: at least start with the understanding of what you're doing. Playboy,
- 1:34:25Speaker 5: all of it.
- 1:34:26Speaker 10: The swimsuit issue ain't never had no stats next to
- 1:34:29Speaker 10: the picture.
- 1:34:31Speaker 2: Not a one stat. No stats. It just is that.
- 1:34:33Speaker 5: So in this, I'm trying to figure out, be outraged.
- 1:34:37Speaker 5: I'm not saying you shouldn't if that's what it is,
- 1:34:39Speaker 5: but be outraged completely. Stop the selective based on if
- 1:34:44Speaker 5: I put an athlete on top of the goal or
- 1:34:50Speaker 5: a non-athlete based on the commercials. Because as Big Kenny,
- 1:34:54Speaker 5: I think one of you two, Comanche, Big Kenny, this
- 1:34:58Speaker 5: is a betting app. This is not a sports team.
- 1:35:01Speaker 5: They're trying to trigger views for their company.
- 1:35:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:35:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:35:07Speaker 10: And a naked Sidney Sweeney next to a hockey stick,
- 1:35:10Speaker 10: that do it.
- 1:35:12Speaker 5: I'm quite sure they would have watched it. If Sidney
- 1:35:14Speaker 5: Sweeney could tell somebody, you can win.
- 1:35:16Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 1:35:16Speaker 2: Bet with us.
- 1:35:17Speaker 5: What's the speed skater woman who won the gold championship?
- 1:35:21Speaker 5: Did a great job. She broke all kinds of records.
- 1:35:24Speaker 5: She dates the boxer. A beautiful woman. Just something. I
- 1:35:32Speaker 5: can't think of the name. But if I went and
- 1:35:33Speaker 5: got her and did these ads now, is it not objectifying?
- 1:35:39Speaker 8: If she's not liked by this group or certain people,
- 1:35:43Speaker 8: that's what I'm thinking. A lot of this is you're
- 1:35:45Speaker 8: not who we want it to be if it's who
- 1:35:48Speaker 8: they think it should be.
- 1:35:51Speaker 5: And that's why a lot of things don't fully hit
- 1:35:54Speaker 5: home because you're not addressing the whole thing, Big Kenny.
- 1:35:57Speaker 2: And that's the part. You're addressing one part. That's the part.
- 1:36:01Speaker 5: Judah Leardom? Judah Leardom.
- 1:36:03Speaker 2: The speed skater. The speed skater.
- 1:36:05Speaker 10: See, you would see Sidney Sweeney do it and you
- 1:36:08Speaker 10: would make the connection to objectifying. But Judah Leardom do
- 1:36:13Speaker 10: it because she's an athlete. then you can blur the
- 1:36:16Speaker 10: line and go, it's empowerment. Yeah, and Olympic athletes are
- 1:36:20Speaker 10: the one who are doing the most of the complaining.
- 1:36:21Speaker 10: They were saying they're the main ones.
- 1:36:24Speaker 5: So it sounds like Sidney Sweeney took their job. Hey, hey, don't, don't, don't. Hey,
- 1:36:30Speaker 5: don't hate the play or hate the game. And we'll
- 1:36:32Speaker 5: be back with more of the Sports Jock Show right
- 1:36:34Speaker 5: after this. Don't go away.
- 1:36:46Speaker 13: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gambias.
- 1:36:49Speaker 5: Coming up next.
- 1:36:52Speaker 30: Everyone needs to take care of their mental health, even
- 1:36:54Speaker 30: running back Bijan Robinson.
- 1:36:56Speaker 2: When I'm on the field and feeling the pressure, I
- 1:36:58Speaker 2: usually just take a deep breath.
- 1:37:00Speaker 15: When I'm just breathing and seeing what's in front of me,
- 1:37:02Speaker 15: everything just slows down.
- 1:37:04Speaker 2: It just makes me feel great before I run the play.
- 1:37:06Speaker 30: Just like Bijan, we all need a strong mental game
- 1:37:09Speaker 30: on and off the field. Make a game plan for
- 1:37:12Speaker 30: your mental health at georgia.loveyourmindtoday.org.

- 1:38:10Speaker 6: My Alzheimer's diagnosis was hard to take.
- 1:38:13Speaker 9: But early detection allowed us to take control of the
- 1:38:16Speaker 9: situation together.
- 1:38:17Speaker 15: Talk to your family about seeing a doctor.
- 1:38:19Speaker 18: Go to alz.org slash time to talk.
- 1:38:22Speaker 2: A message from the Alzheimer's Association and the Ad Council.
- 1:38:27Speaker 5: And now, back to the sports jar. Wayne Gandy. It's
- 1:38:40Speaker 5: Wayne Gandy.
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: It's Wayne Gandy. It's Wayne Candy.
- 1:38:51Speaker 26: Oh, log on so you can see. The sports J-O-C,
- 1:38:55Speaker 26: even Big Candy. Welcome back to the Sports Shock Show.
- 1:39:00Speaker 26: I'm the Sports Shock Wayne Candy.
- 1:39:02Speaker 5: Kyrie Irving has offered to pay Houston Texans linebacker Aziz
- 1:39:07Speaker 5: Al-Shahir's fine, which the fine is funny because.
- 1:39:11Speaker 2: It's $ 11, 941. The NFL.
- 1:39:16Speaker 5: From the time I walked in until now, I never
- 1:39:18Speaker 5: get these off numbers. Why isn't it just $ 12, 000? Or
- 1:39:25Speaker 5: why isn't it just 940? I don't know where the
- 1:39:28Speaker 5: other dollar came in, Big Kenny. I don't know what
- 1:39:31Speaker 5: that's about. No, it's to keep you doing math in
- 1:39:32Speaker 5: your head. But Khatri, Aziz, Al-Shahir wore black. Tape under
- 1:39:45Speaker 5: the eye, you know, if you watch guys play sports,
- 1:39:48Speaker 5: they have that line a lot of times for the lights.
- 1:39:52Speaker 5: It helps them find the ball and things like that.
- 1:39:55Speaker 5: He had written Hyde, or how do you say this
- 1:40:00Speaker 5: young girl who passed away? Is it Hyde Rajab?
- 1:40:05Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:40:06Speaker 5: Hyde Rajab, who was reported missing. a Palestinian girl, five
- 1:40:13Speaker 5: years old, killed by Israeli military earlier this year in
- 1:40:19Speaker 5: Gaza City. But it wasn't for that he wore the blackout.
- 1:40:26Speaker 5: It was more what he wrote. They have certain things.
- 1:40:29Speaker 5: We saw this all the way back to Cam Hayward
- 1:40:33Speaker 5: a decade ago when he was fined for putting what
- 1:40:38Speaker 5: his dad had, brain cancer, I remember the NFL was
- 1:40:42Speaker 5: involved and they were supporting breast cancer. He put brain
- 1:40:48Speaker 5: cancer or something like that on his. So that's what
- 1:40:52Speaker 5: the fine is for them. It's not them. And I'm
- 1:40:54Speaker 5: leading with that story because it leads you to Robert
- 1:40:57Speaker 5: Krav and Macklemore. Robert Krav asking Sheeran, basically telling Macklemore
- 1:41:06Speaker 5: he cannot perform in his stadium. So that pushed Ed
- 1:41:12Speaker 5: Sheeran to push Macklemore off the tour. Since then, Macklemore
- 1:41:16Speaker 5: challenged Robert Kraft to donate money. And Macklemore was on tour.
- 1:41:23Speaker 5: He got to the stadium. He mentioned free Palestine a
- 1:41:28Speaker 5: couple of times. That's not something that Robert Kraft wanted
- 1:41:32Speaker 5: to be said. Since then, he's challenged Robert Kraft to
- 1:41:37Speaker 5: donate money to the Palestinian relief effort, which he didn't
- 1:41:46Speaker 5: just match, he doubled. He said, proudly. I think to
- 1:41:54Speaker 5: me that shows how we always talk here. I think
- 1:41:57Speaker 5: the fairness is because Robert Kraft does not want you
- 1:42:01Speaker 5: to say that on stage or want that to be
- 1:42:03Speaker 5: part of, does not mean that he is against you.
- 1:42:06Speaker 5: Sometimes we like to leap Business and pleasure. I don't
- 1:42:11Speaker 5: need any of that in my, call me personally.
- 1:42:14Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:42:15Speaker 5: In a sense.
- 1:42:17Speaker 2: Big Kenny, Comanche Gray, bad, but call me personally. Work
- 1:42:20Speaker 2: it out. We work it out, but not at the store.
- 1:42:24Speaker 2: Not on the stage. Right, right. Yeah, you got my phone, though.
- 1:42:28Speaker 5: You got my, call me, so you challenge me. Macklemore
- 1:42:32Speaker 5: put up a million dollars. Robert Clark put up two
- 1:42:34Speaker 5: million dollars, all of it for what Macklemore is supporting.
- 1:42:38Speaker 5: And I'm using this and that's what I got from it.
- 1:42:43Speaker 5: I'm not into whether the Israelis or the Palestinians, I
- 1:42:47Speaker 5: don't have any voice in that. I'm not educated enough
- 1:42:52Speaker 5: to be weighing in, to take a stance.
- 1:42:57Speaker 10: I just don't want y'all to sing the song at
- 1:42:59Speaker 10: my birthday party. At something that's been going on since
- 1:43:03Speaker 10: so long. You know, I just don't, I don't know,
- 1:43:06Speaker 10: I understand. Don't bring it up in public.
- 1:43:08Speaker 2: Right, I'm saying.
- 1:43:10Speaker 5: And I think he's showing, I support, I don't want
- 1:43:14Speaker 5: that to happen either. What you're fighting against and the killing,
- 1:43:18Speaker 5: I don't want that to happen either, so let me
- 1:43:19Speaker 5: help you, but that doesn't mean I want to.
- 1:43:22Speaker 10: You sang it at the arena. You sang it at
- 1:43:25Speaker 10: the football field. You sang it at the Civic Center.
- 1:43:30Speaker 2: But at my backyard party. Just don't do that. Well,
- 1:43:36Speaker 2: he's been. Don't say that. And is that wrong of him? No, no, no.
- 1:43:40Speaker 2: Just the one time I don't need you to do that.
- 1:43:42Speaker 8: And you got to look at it. The promoters are
- 1:43:45Speaker 8: the one that. had pulled him off. It was not
- 1:43:48Speaker 8: just the venue owners. And you have other artists speaking out,
- 1:43:52Speaker 8: like Pink saying that he shouldn't dress up in fake
- 1:43:56Speaker 8: nose and try to tell Jewish people who or what
- 1:44:00Speaker 8: they should do. So this is something that's been ongoing
- 1:44:04Speaker 8: with him. And then it leads to other, we're talking
- 1:44:09Speaker 8: about the other acts opening acts left the show already
- 1:44:14Speaker 8: who to me I look at like maybe the ticket
- 1:44:16Speaker 8: sales possibly wasn't selling that good.
- 1:44:19Speaker 10: Also no way well all I'm saying is this if
- 1:44:22Speaker 10: me well I know he may be but I'm saying
- 1:44:25Speaker 10: me you and Comanche Greg are going to perform at
- 1:44:30Speaker 10: Mercedes Benz Dome and they say we're going to cancel
- 1:44:35Speaker 10: the show unless the bad producers pulled off the show
- 1:44:39Speaker 10: Me and Comanche Greg still going to get our check.
- 1:44:42Speaker 2: Going to get it.
- 1:44:42Speaker 10: You better go get it. I'm saying we're going to
- 1:44:44Speaker 10: still get ours. Now, whatever's going on with you, do
- 1:44:48Speaker 10: your thing. But I'm going to go perform and get
- 1:44:51Speaker 10: mine because I'm not part of what you're saying. You're
- 1:44:53Speaker 10: just on the bill. You got selected for us to
- 1:44:56Speaker 10: tour together. And so, yeah, you could stay off the
- 1:45:00Speaker 10: show if you want to.
- 1:45:01Speaker 20: And reportedly, Ed Sheeran tried to get him back on
- 1:45:03Speaker 20: the– tried to– mend fences, but it didn't work out.
- 1:45:10Speaker 2: Why we just can't come sing? But here's the deal.
- 1:45:14Speaker 2: I'm asking that part. But here's the deal.
- 1:45:18Speaker 20: They got the platform and this is the time where
- 1:45:22Speaker 20: I could also do this.
- 1:45:23Speaker 5: How many times have we discussed how people hijack stuff? Like,
- 1:45:27Speaker 5: I just don't decide to hijack. And I need you
- 1:45:31Speaker 5: just to do what you can. This is Ed Sheeran's tour.
- 1:45:34Speaker 5: And you done hijacked the whole tour.
- 1:45:36Speaker 10: I just need you to tell the jokes. This was
- 1:45:40Speaker 10: a comedy show. I came for the jokes. And in
- 1:45:43Speaker 10: the middle of the comedy show, you went off into
- 1:45:46Speaker 10: the free these people things. And I didn't know that
- 1:45:51Speaker 10: was going to be this.
- 1:45:53Speaker 2: I wouldn't have came if we was going to be
- 1:45:55Speaker 2: doing this.
- 1:45:55Speaker 10: I came to laugh and get away from all of
- 1:45:58Speaker 10: the free people stuff, and you threw it right in
- 1:46:01Speaker 10: the middle of the event I came to.
- 1:46:03Speaker 2: Well, here's another thing.
- 1:46:04Speaker 5: I would imagine that anyone that performs has to adhere
- 1:46:08Speaker 5: to venue rules and regulations based on where that venue is.
- 1:46:13Speaker 5: What is said in one's place might not be something
- 1:46:16Speaker 5: that is– It has to be adjusted to somewhere else
- 1:46:24Speaker 5: in this situation. But Robert Kraft stepping up, meeting the challenge,
- 1:46:28Speaker 5: showing that one thing didn't have to do with the
- 1:46:31Speaker 5: other in this situation.
- 1:46:34Speaker 8: Can I say, actually, he had already donated before McLemore
- 1:46:39Speaker 8: to that same cause. So what he was asking for,
- 1:46:43Speaker 8: Robert Kraft has already been putting money in that situation.
- 1:46:46Speaker 8: So this is nothing, what McLemore was asking for was
- 1:46:49Speaker 8: nothing new.
- 1:46:50Speaker 10: What Mr. Kraft was already doing. And what if Robert
- 1:46:53Speaker 10: Kraft say you trying to call somebody out? Can you
- 1:46:55Speaker 10: whoop my ass? You want to get in the square circle, Macklemore?
- 1:47:00Speaker 10: What if he'd have done that? Everybody always trying to
- 1:47:02Speaker 10: call somebody out. What if he'd have said, well, I
- 1:47:05Speaker 10: got a million dollars for some people to beat you
- 1:47:07Speaker 10: up when you see in that area? How many times
- 1:47:09Speaker 10: have we talked about that?
- 1:47:09Speaker 5: Like, why do you think people supposed to prove something
- 1:47:12Speaker 5: to you? Still in the moment. You're telling me that
- 1:47:15Speaker 5: Robert Kraft probably donates to all kinds of things. All
- 1:47:20Speaker 5: the time.
- 1:47:21Speaker 2: But I ain't seen it. I ain't seen it.
- 1:47:23Speaker 5: Because that's not how I move.
- 1:47:24Speaker 2: It ain't your business. That's not how I move.
- 1:47:27Speaker 5: Me donating to that, me using my name, I don't
- 1:47:30Speaker 5: think is going to drive it any further.
- 1:47:33Speaker 2: You don't see these henchmen, I come.
- 1:47:35Speaker 20: That's a generational thing, like how people, how they donate
- 1:47:39Speaker 20: to causes or work with causes, volunteers. Some people have
- 1:47:43Speaker 20: to put out that they did it, and some, like,
- 1:47:45Speaker 20: they just do it. They don't really say anything about it.
- 1:47:48Speaker 20: They just do the work.
- 1:47:49Speaker 5: So if Jeff Bezos gives some guy a million dollars
- 1:47:52Speaker 5: today just because he woke up in a giving mood,
- 1:47:56Speaker 5: he needs to let us know?
- 1:47:59Speaker 20: Some people feel that way. Some people feel like, oh,
- 1:48:02Speaker 20: he needs to tell people that he's, you know.
- 1:48:04Speaker 2: But then they'll be like, look at him grandstanding. Look
- 1:48:07Speaker 2: at him showing off.
- 1:48:08Speaker 5: He's a good person. I saw a dad standing on
- 1:48:10Speaker 5: a corner with his two kids waiting on a bus.
- 1:48:15Speaker 5: And something about that today made me feel like getting
- 1:48:19Speaker 5: out out of this Tahoe and giving it to him
- 1:48:26Speaker 5: something about today yesterday I saw the same man and
- 1:48:30Speaker 5: it didn't hit me like that but today I started
- 1:48:33Speaker 5: I realized I don't need this car he does.
- 1:48:40Speaker 2: That's the level that I'm on.
- 1:48:41Speaker 10: And if I say something about it now, it's, oh,
- 1:48:44Speaker 10: look at him embarrassing his dad.
- 1:48:46Speaker 2: He was just trying to help his kids, and now
- 1:48:48Speaker 2: you want credit for making it?
- 1:48:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:48:50Speaker 2: We're never satisfied. Never satisfied. We'll be back right after this.
- 1:49:05Speaker 5: Don't go away.
- 1:49:06Speaker 13: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gamby is
- 1:49:09Speaker 13: coming up next.
- 1:49:11Speaker 15: And now let's talk about something exciting, life insurance.
- 1:49:13Speaker 7: Three-quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical piece
- 1:49:17Speaker 7: of financial security, yet only 49% actually have life insurance.
- 1:49:22Speaker 27: When I was 25, me and my wife were just
- 1:49:24Speaker 27: getting started with our family and thought we lived forever.
- 1:49:26Speaker 2: Life insurance was the last thing on my mind.
- 1:49:28Speaker 5: What about you?
- 1:49:29Speaker 15: Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 1:49:31Speaker 27: When I was 40, with a kid in college and
- 1:49:33Speaker 27: bills piling up, I was worried how my family would
- 1:49:35Speaker 27: survive without me. That's when I made an appointment with
- 1:49:37Speaker 27: the insurance informant.
- 1:49:38Speaker 7: Information gives you power and life insurance gives your family security,
- 1:49:42Speaker 7: no matter what stage of life you're in.
- 1:49:44Speaker 27: Now that I'm older, I don't worry about whether I
- 1:49:46Speaker 27: leave my family with bills or benefits.
- 1:49:48Speaker 2: The answer is easy.
- 1:49:49Speaker 7: Whether you're 25 or 50, whether you earn a little
- 1:49:52Speaker 7: or a lot, all you need is the insurance informant
- 1:49:55Speaker 7: to help you build a foundation of security. Because without you,
- 1:49:58Speaker 7: your family will have two options, benefits or bills. Which
- 1:50:02Speaker 7: legacy will you leave behind? Log on today, benefitsorbills.com. That's benefitsorbills.com.
- 1:50:09Speaker 5: Thank you. When I smoke weed, I get lost in
- 1:50:16Speaker 5: the music.
- 1:50:17Speaker 2: I like to isolate each instrument.
- 1:50:20Speaker 12: The rhythmic bass, the harmonies on the piano, the sticky melody. Hey, hey, hey, hey.
- 1:50:29Speaker 10: Careful, babe.
- 1:50:30Speaker 11: There's someone crossing the street.
- 1:50:31Speaker 5: Sorry, I didn't see him there. If you feel different,
- 1:50:35Speaker 5: you drive different.
- 1:50:36Speaker 2: Don't drive high. It's dangerous and illegal everywhere.
- 1:50:40Speaker 6: A message from NHTSA and the Ad Council.
- 1:50:43Speaker 17: Nobody had to tell your grandparents not to drive while
- 1:50:46Speaker 17: using their typewriters. Why should it be any different for
- 1:50:50Speaker 17: us kids and our cell phones? Distracted driving was the
- 1:50:54Speaker 17: cause of more than 3,000 deaths in 2022. Come on,
- 1:50:58Speaker 17: we're smarter than this. Let's put down the phones and
- 1:51:01Speaker 17: focus on the roads. Drive safe, everybody.
- 1:51:05Speaker 23: Don't drive distracted. A message brought to you by the
- 1:51:08Speaker 23: National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Project Yellow Light, and the
- 1:51:11Speaker 23: Ad Council.
- 1:51:15Speaker 5: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Gandy.
- 1:51:20Speaker 3: Now, it's time for the scoreboard, where we put a
- 1:51:23Speaker 3: spin on life and sports and how they intermingle on
- 1:51:28Speaker 3: the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:51:32Speaker 5: Hey, this is radio station WSKB.
- 1:51:36Speaker 11: We're taking calls on the wish line, making your wacky
- 1:51:42Speaker 11: wishes come true.
- 1:51:44Speaker 19: Hello?
- 1:51:44Speaker 5: I wish I was a little bit taller.
- 1:51:46Speaker 2: I wish I was a baller.
- 1:51:47Speaker 5: I wish I had a girl who looked good. I
- 1:51:49Speaker 5: would call her. I wish I had a rabbit and
- 1:51:51Speaker 5: a hat with a bat and a six-form park.
- 1:51:55Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Sports Talk Show.
- 1:51:56Speaker 5: I'm the Sports Talk Wayne Gandy, and I pay for
- 1:52:01Speaker 5: the pregame meal for the Haines City High School football program.
- 1:52:10Speaker 2: Did y'all need to know that? Every home game or
- 1:52:16Speaker 2: every game?
- 1:52:16Speaker 5: Or weight games only? Y'all need to know that, though.
- 1:52:20Speaker 2: Wait, wait, wait, wait.
- 1:52:21Speaker 10: So you're the one that pays for all of those
- 1:52:23Speaker 10: carbs and very few vegetables?
- 1:52:26Speaker 5: I'm the one who pays for the young men to
- 1:52:30Speaker 5: eat before the game.
- 1:52:33Speaker 2: All the games.
- 1:52:34Speaker 10: And do you make sure that the food is locally
- 1:52:37Speaker 10: sourced and you're supporting local?
- 1:52:40Speaker 5: All those things. I just don't know why. I need
- 1:52:45Speaker 5: to inform you or have the media write an article
- 1:52:49Speaker 5: about it.
- 1:52:51Speaker 2: I thought.
- 1:52:52Speaker 5: We have no other indication that you're a good person.
- 1:52:55Speaker 5: I thought the kids were supposed to eat.
- 1:52:59Speaker 2: We have no other indication that you're a good person.
- 1:53:01Speaker 5: I thought I would supply something to the kids that
- 1:53:03Speaker 5: was not supplied to me. We just played off of
- 1:53:10Speaker 5: whatever we could find before 7.30.
- 1:53:11Speaker 17: Mm-hmm.
- 1:53:14Speaker 5: I thought it, but I didn't know that. I'm just
- 1:53:16Speaker 5: giving you an example. I didn't know I needed to
- 1:53:18Speaker 5: run this by the world. Well, they prefer it that way.
- 1:53:25Speaker 5: And that's how it makes it seem. Like, you have
- 1:53:27Speaker 5: to make, and unless that is going to generate you
- 1:53:32Speaker 5: to start doing some more, I don't know that it's necessary.
- 1:53:37Speaker 8: Uh-uh, because all they're going to do is say, well,
- 1:53:38Speaker 8: he got it. He can continue to do it. Just
- 1:53:40Speaker 8: let him keep doing it.
- 1:53:41Speaker 5: The Hall of Fame has decided to revamp Some of
- 1:53:44Speaker 5: that revamp has thrown Tony Dungy and Bill Polian out
- 1:53:49Speaker 5: of the Hall of Fame election. And to me, this
- 1:53:53Speaker 5: is still too little too late for me, for the
- 1:53:58Speaker 5: great Bill Belichick. I don't care that you're throwing 22
- 1:54:02Speaker 5: members out.
- 1:54:06Speaker 2: It's still embarrassing.
- 1:54:07Speaker 5: It's still embarrassing. You still have watered down the whole
- 1:54:11Speaker 5: idea of the process. I don't know how you're saying
- 1:54:16Speaker 5: you have a comedic Hall of Fame and Richard Pryor
- 1:54:20Speaker 5: is not in it.
- 1:54:20Speaker 2: I wouldn't understand that.
- 1:54:23Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:54:26Speaker 2: How would that work? Right. How does that work?
- 1:54:33Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:54:34Speaker 2: It goes to show.
- 1:54:35Speaker 5: Because you're saying he did a little cocaine? And I
- 1:54:38Speaker 5: ain't judging. We done all did a little bit of.
- 1:54:42Speaker 2: Cocaine of a right.
- 1:54:44Speaker 5: He didn't meet your expectations of morality.
- 1:54:48Speaker 2: He didn't donate enough. Then that's a bogus comedic hall
- 1:54:51Speaker 2: of fame. That's very bogus.
- 1:54:55Speaker 5: It's the same with Bill Bell. I know y'all are, oh,
- 1:54:57Speaker 5: we need to fix this. We need to show them
- 1:54:59Speaker 5: some effort. I know I saw one name, Mary Kay Cabot,
- 1:55:05Speaker 5: someone we've had on our show. They cut her. Lisa Salter,
- 1:55:12Speaker 5: they cut her. There's some names if you want to
- 1:55:14Speaker 5: go see. 22 people. I think they're down from like 51,
- 1:55:17Speaker 5: 52 to like 30, somewhere in there now. But to me,
- 1:55:21Speaker 5: Big Kenny, it doesn't help me right now.
- 1:55:23Speaker 10: Well, I'm saying nothing says we botched the job like
- 1:55:26Speaker 10: firing half the staff. After the job is done, we
- 1:55:32Speaker 10: look at it and go, oh, I kind of like it.
- 1:55:35Speaker 10: And then the next day you go, hey, man, we
- 1:55:37Speaker 10: fired everybody because of what happened in that debacle.
- 1:55:41Speaker 2: So, yeah, we'll see. And that's all this screams.
- 1:55:45Speaker 10: Because they can vote him in next year, can't they?
- 1:55:49Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:55:50Speaker 10: And they'll be all apologetic and trying to explain why
- 1:55:54Speaker 10: it shouldn't have been that way.
- 1:55:56Speaker 5: Maybe. And that's if Bill, because Bill might not show
- 1:56:02Speaker 5: up just because of that.
- 1:56:05Speaker 2: Or we might get the sound bite of a lifetime
- 1:56:09Speaker 2: in the speech.
- 1:56:10Speaker 5: We've had some speeches go up there and people tell
- 1:56:12Speaker 5: you how they really.
- 1:56:13Speaker 2: Feel about everything. We've had it.
- 1:56:15Speaker 5: So if Bill go up there and do it in
- 1:56:17Speaker 5: a civil way, we'd have to give him a round
- 1:56:19Speaker 5: of applause.
- 1:56:20Speaker 10: Haters gonna hate. I spent on my ops. But thank
- 1:56:30Speaker 10: you for trying, but for me, no.
- 1:56:32Speaker 5: It doesn't patch up the most clear-cut thing in the world.
- 1:56:38Speaker 10: Yeah, you done got your side chick pregnant now, baby. Look,
- 1:56:41Speaker 10: I deleted her number out the phone.
- 1:56:44Speaker 5: The most clear-cut coach that would ever be in the hall.
- 1:56:49Speaker 8: Did your list show– it only published– the one I
- 1:56:51Speaker 8: see is 19 names. I was wondering who those other three,
- 1:56:55Speaker 8: why they haven't released their name. And you as an
- 1:56:59Speaker 8: NFL alumni, how do you feel about, like, Coach Dungy
- 1:57:03Speaker 8: and Bill Paulian, which it originally came out that he
- 1:57:06Speaker 8: had something to do with it, but everybody's like, oh, no,
- 1:57:09Speaker 8: because he said, no, I would never do Bill Belichick
- 1:57:12Speaker 8: like that, but it came out and now it's coming out.
- 1:57:13Speaker 2: How do you feel as, I mean, I know you said.
- 1:57:16Speaker 2: I thought I was just telling you how I felt
- 1:57:18Speaker 2: about it.
- 1:57:18Speaker 8: I know, but I'm just, no, it's just that, seriously though,
- 1:57:20Speaker 8: I mean, as a player that you see this, I mean,
- 1:57:24Speaker 8: for real, this is.
- 1:57:25Speaker 5: Something, this is egregious. I just said it doesn't help me.
- 1:57:28Speaker 5: I just really displayed what I said.
- 1:57:30Speaker 8: I know, but I mean, I just, I feel, but
- 1:57:32Speaker 8: you laughing though. And I'm thinking, you know. Because I'm
- 1:57:36Speaker 8: laughing because I just talked. I just said my true
- 1:57:41Speaker 8: feelings about it. Too little, too late for me. Well,
- 1:57:46Speaker 8: I feel like you're supposed to be on a board
- 1:57:49Speaker 8: and be objective. The number one criteria for me for
- 1:57:56Speaker 8: you to even be on this is that you're going
- 1:57:58Speaker 8: to be objectively induct people on the merit of their
- 1:58:05Speaker 8: need to be inducted. Not anything more than that. Not
- 1:58:09Speaker 8: that you lost eight games to them. Or he cost
- 1:58:17Speaker 8: you some money. Let me say it like this then.
- 1:58:18Speaker 8: Can I say it like, let me, I respect Tony,
- 1:58:23Speaker 8: I am disappointed in Tony Dungy.
- 1:58:25Speaker 5: Okay, then you say it then. You're trying to draw
- 1:58:27Speaker 5: me into saying it.
- 1:58:29Speaker 8: I'm disappointed in Tony Dungy because of the fight that
- 1:58:32Speaker 8: he went through because you thought like how he got
- 1:58:34Speaker 8: fired at Tampa. He's like, oh, he built that team.
- 1:58:38Speaker 8: You're doing this for you. And his story in the background,
- 1:58:41Speaker 8: then all of a sudden you find out he's.
- 1:58:43Speaker 2: A part of this.
- 1:58:44Speaker 8: And it's like, man, all that warrior, this person, you
- 1:58:50Speaker 8: sold to me. And I'm like, you're actually a hater.
- 1:58:55Speaker 10: Well, I think the reason they are doing this large
- 1:59:00Speaker 10: effort in overcorrection is because most people would like to
- 1:59:06Speaker 10: believe that somehow the system is not.
- 1:59:09Speaker 5: Rigged or biased.
- 1:59:11Speaker 10: This was obviously an example of how that is not
- 1:59:15Speaker 10: the reality in sports today. Because by your own metrics,
- 1:59:20Speaker 10: you didn't put in the one person who deserved to
- 1:59:23Speaker 10: be in there more than anybody else who does what
- 1:59:25Speaker 10: he does. And now everybody knows that this ain't been
- 1:59:30Speaker 10: fair from the beginning.
- 1:59:31Speaker 2: So now you want us to believe.
- 1:59:32Speaker 10: That it's fair because you fire a few people that
- 1:59:35Speaker 10: we're supposed to believe had those kinds of feelings about
- 1:59:39Speaker 10: Bill Belichick, the Tony Dungys and the people like that.
- 1:59:43Speaker 10: But again, it's too late. Y'all done already snubbed me.
- 1:59:50Speaker 10: You've already proven that it's personal. We all know it's
- 1:59:53Speaker 10: personal now.
- 1:59:55Speaker 2: Yeah, T.O. tried to show us.
- 1:59:58Speaker 5: It was, and now y'all have actually proved it.
- 2:00:01Speaker 2: Because T.O. was a lunatic.
- 2:00:02Speaker 10: And we saw it. We didn't want to listen. But
- 2:00:05Speaker 10: we didn't want to listen to T.O. because he was
- 2:00:07Speaker 10: somewhere in Chattanooga, Tennessee when he said it. And, you know,
- 2:00:11Speaker 10: everybody had to kind of distance themselves from T.O. But
- 2:00:14Speaker 10: now we kind of go, hey, man, T.O., we sorry.
- 2:00:17Speaker 17: We all owe T.O.
- 2:00:18Speaker 2: An apology. T.O., we sorry. And we are in the ocean.
- 2:00:25Speaker 5: The truth is, he will throw your a * *
- 2:00:27Speaker 5: in the ocean.
- 2:00:29Speaker 3: It's time to wrap things up on the Sports Jack
- 2:00:32Speaker 3: Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 2:00:55Speaker 5: When you're the sounds of the ocean, it gives the
- 2:00:57Speaker 5: sports talk just a minute to vent. We'd like to
- 2:00:58Speaker 5: thank you for tuning in to today's show. If you
- 2:01:00Speaker 5: miss any of the show, you can hit a rebroadcast,
- 2:01:03Speaker 5: Apple Podcasts, Amazon Podcasts, Audible, Deezer, iHeartRadio, Spotify, Comanche Greg,
- 2:01:11Speaker 5: Big Kitty, Bad Producer. Thank you for your contributions to
- 2:01:14Speaker 5: today's show. Going in the ocean is former Duke point guard,
- 2:01:19Speaker 5: former Chicago Bull point guard, NBA, ESPN, Fox, all kind
- 2:01:26Speaker 5: of announcer, Jay Williams. Jay Williams needed to get something
- 2:01:32Speaker 5: off his chest and he tried to loop us all
- 2:01:35Speaker 5: in it. As former college athletes, we all participated in
- 2:01:41Speaker 5: cash payments.
- 2:01:42Speaker 2: Before NIL. Yes, he did. No, Jay, own that yourself.
- 2:01:48Speaker 5: Don't just be throwing no lasso around the other million
- 2:01:52Speaker 5: athletes because you got a paycheck.
- 2:01:56Speaker 2: You're doing like the bad producers.
- 2:01:58Speaker 5: That's going to put us all in danger because he
- 2:02:01Speaker 5: in trouble. That's a Duke man now. That's a Duke
- 2:02:05Speaker 5: man now.
- 2:02:05Speaker 2: They got us.
- 2:02:06Speaker 5: They got us.
- 2:02:07Speaker 2: If you want to get something off your chest, Big Kenny,
- 2:02:09Speaker 2: then you get it.
- 2:02:10Speaker 5: Off of you.
- 2:02:11Speaker 2: No, you don't.
- 2:02:12Speaker 5: Don't be leaking I was there in the story. In
- 2:02:15Speaker 5: the duffel bag. No info for love. You not a
- 2:02:19Speaker 5: duffel bag boy. So, Jay Williams, you know, hey, if
- 2:02:22Speaker 5: you need a confession, If you need to get right
- 2:02:26Speaker 5: with whoever you need to get right, you receive cash
- 2:02:30Speaker 5: payment before NIL. Don't just throw it and make people be, hey, man,
- 2:02:35Speaker 5: how much money you got? I knew Duke was cheap.
- 2:02:38Speaker 5: I don't know what Jay talking about. I'm not we.
- 2:02:43Speaker 2: Singular.
- 2:02:44Speaker 5: You speak French.
- 2:02:45Speaker 2: Jay Williams got money.
- 2:02:47Speaker 11: You, you.
- 2:02:48Speaker 2: Before the NIH.
- 2:02:49Speaker 5: Make sure you.
- 2:02:50Speaker 2: Say that into the microphone, Jay.
- 2:02:52Speaker 5: Just Jay Williams. Something for that, Jay Williams.
- 2:02:56Speaker 22: Walk the plank.
- 2:03:00Speaker 8: That's about the same time they try to say we
- 2:03:02Speaker 8: have fake classes, too.
- 2:03:08Speaker 2: From the Sports Talk Show, as we say on Thursday,
- 2:03:10Speaker 2: we will see you in the future.
- 2:03:14Speaker 5: Peace.
