- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:28Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30Today we are talking about mantras or incantations or
- 0:35things that you say to yourself repetitively that help you move
- 0:40forward. Now I'm a big, big, huge
- 0:43proponent of these because we are programming ourselves
- 0:46constantly. It's a never ending process that
- 0:49we do, although we realize that or not is another thing.
- 0:52But we are always programming ourselves.
- 0:54And one of those important pieces of programming ourselves
- 0:57is to recognize what exactly are we saying to ourselves.
- 1:01And it can be a very tricky process to figure this out
- 1:05because quite frankly, we are very unconscious about what
- 1:09we're saying in our head, how we're saying it.
- 1:11And it's, it is a daunting task to pay attention to it.
- 1:16And I'm the first one to admit because my, I'm so Uber creative
- 1:21that my brain does not stop. I mean, just coming out to do
- 1:24the podcast this morning. And since it's, you know, a, a,
- 1:27a lovely Sunday morning, it's one of those things for me
- 1:31that's like, oh, I should do this or I could do this.
- 1:34And I've got a boatload of plants sitting to be pot to be
- 1:39put into the ground, all different kinds of butterfly
- 1:41bushes that I had been waiting for forever.
- 1:44I happened to stumble into them, In case anyone's wanting to
- 1:47know, and you're a plant fan, there is a butterfly Bush that
- 1:50grows giant and it is called Black Knight.
- 1:53And this thing is a magnet for butterflies, bees.
- 1:59It's astoundingly productive when it comes to putting out all
- 2:04the different flowers. It stays for a long time.
- 2:07And I had one many years ago when I lived in Rhode Island.
- 2:10And it, it just drew in butterflies.
- 2:12So I've always thought about them.
- 2:15But this year I had a real intention of saying, OK, I need
- 2:18to track that down. And about 3 weeks ago, I started
- 2:21focusing on it. And I kept saying to myself, so
- 2:24happy I found the Black Knight, so happy I found the Black
- 2:27Knight. Well, again, that's an
- 2:28incantation that I'm giving myself.
- 2:30And lo and behold, yesterday I walked into a garden center and
- 2:34they had four of them which led me and they were on sale.
- 2:38And then they had other butterfly bushes which led me to
- 2:40more flowers. So 2 wagons later and there are
- 2:43a lot of plants to be planted. But in in any event, that's an
- 2:46example of a positive incantation that I'm telling
- 2:49myself. I'm so grateful that for these
- 2:51butterfly bushes. And I literally do that.
- 2:53I walk around whatever I'm working on manifesting.
- 2:56I walk around incanting that I already have it and that it's so
- 2:59wonderful. And then I somehow they show up.
- 3:03So a positive way to do mantras and incantations.
- 3:07But there are many versions of this that can hurt us when
- 3:12they're negative, like when we have these beliefs about things
- 3:15that are happening. Oh, they're always late.
- 3:16Oh, they're always late. Oh, they're always late.
- 3:18And guess what? They're late.
- 3:20We're encanting the things that we don't want to have happen as
- 3:24much as we are probably more than we are encanting the things
- 3:28we do want to have happen. So this is really something that
- 3:33when you start focusing on what are the mantras you're telling
- 3:36yourself, you know, oh, I don't work out.
- 3:38I don't work out. I it's too hard.
- 3:40I my knees hurt when I walk. These are all versions of
- 3:44mantras that we say to ourselves, disempowering ones
- 3:47nonetheless, but they are beliefs that are coming up
- 3:51repetitively that we say to ourselves.
- 3:53Therefore, my friends, they are mantras.
- 3:56They are incantations and they, they, they know, take that in
- 4:01very seriously into manifesting what you're looking for.
- 4:04I mean, as Bruce Lee said, be careful about what words you use
- 4:07because it is called spelling for a reason.
- 4:09You are casting spells with the words you use and it is very,
- 4:14very true. Whatever you call it, spelling,
- 4:18mantras, incantations, beliefs, it, they are all.
- 4:22If they are repetitive in your mind and you keep doing it, you
- 4:26will cast it and you will make it happen.
- 4:30So it is incredibly important to look at it.
- 4:33So a great exercise to do is to stop and pause and say, oh, am I
- 4:37doing this from a positive frame or a negative frame?
- 4:41Like how is that working? What, what part of this am I
- 4:44doing in a way that's resourceful?
- 4:46And what part of it am I doing in a way that is very
- 4:48unresourceful? And when you start to pull back
- 4:51and look at that, you'll be able to get a real sense of, oh boy,
- 4:56I'm doing this far too much in a way that I should not be doing
- 5:00it. And then you'll get an idea of,
- 5:02OK, I need to come up with better ways to control what I'm
- 5:08focusing on. So I love to wear a white string
- 5:11on my left wrist. And when I do that, I'm really
- 5:15focusing on keep it simple. Pay attention.
- 5:17When I look at the string, what am I thinking?
- 5:19When I look at the string, what am I thinking?
- 5:21So it's a question to help me align my thoughts and it works.
- 5:26So give it a try. All right, my friends, I hope
- 5:29you have a blessed day and I will see you tomorrow.
- 5:31Bye.
