- 0:05My name is Carolina. I' m twenty- four. I am originally
- 0:09from the State of Puebla. I am currently living alone, but a couple
- 0:13of years ago I lived along with my rumi by the name of Cassandra,
- 0:17in the state of Querétaro. I found the job I had always looked for,
- 0:22which was far from Puebla, so I had to move to Queretaro to
- 0:26live. At first I thought it would be difficult to find a place I
- 0:32really knew very little, but thanks to a friend from the university, I
- 0:37knew Cassandra, who fortunately was looking for someone to share the apartment with.
- 0:42He offered to pay me a very affordable rent. The place was very spacious,
- 0:46furnished and the best thing is that the job was just five minutes away
- 0:50walking everything seemed to be painting very well. She introduced me to her friends
- 0:56and even her boyfriend, whom I' ll call frame. They were very
- 1:00nice people and with whom I managed to get along quickly. A month after
- 1:04my arrival. Upon returning from my work, it was raining and it was
- 1:10very windy, so I rushed to close the windows of all the rooms for
- 1:14the time it was. There shouldn' t have been anyone, but I
- 1:18could hear someone babbling inside one of the rooms where we kept things we didn
- 1:23' t use. I approached the door and stuck my ear in order to
- 1:27hear more clearly. It was the voice of a man who uttered a series
- 1:33of words that I had heard in my life. He laughed macabrely, but
- 1:37in a very low tone. The most disturbing thing was that suddenly someone answered
- 1:41him. It was a woman I quickly identified as Cassandra. I walked away
- 1:49in silence. I made the decision to get out of the apartment for a
- 1:53few minutes, thinking maybe I was interrupting something, so I walked away in
- 1:59the most stealthy way possible so that they wouldn' t notice my presence.
- 2:02I stayed outside for a few minutes to give them a little time and when
- 2:07I was about to reopen the door and warn that I had already arrived,
- 2:10someone greeted me from the hallway. It was Cassandra, accompanied by her frame
- 2:15boyfriend. I was quite puzzled, for I was almost certain that they were
- 2:21both inside. I asked if anyone else had access to the place, but
- 2:25she assured me it wasn' t like that. Marco was the first to
- 2:30go in to check and make sure everything was okay and to our surprise,
- 2:36we found the room of things. It' s a mess. Whoever would
- 2:40have been inside had already left the apartment got more ice cream than usual.
- 2:46Cassandra told me that, even if I was making a rainy climate, the
- 2:52place didn' t give to cool down. So much, we decided to
- 2:55order some dinner so we wouldn' t have to go out and while we
- 3:00waited to love, he came up with the great idea of playing the daughter.
- 3:02I didn' t know that they had it in store or that they
- 3:07came to play it, but Cassandra told me that it was something they usually
- 3:10did with friends. I' ve never played before, so I thought it
- 3:15was fun to try. They pulled a black bag out of the room where
- 3:21I heard the babbling. We put it on the table in the living room,
- 3:24turned off the TV and only left the light in the living room and
- 3:29the hallway on. He took it out of his package and I realized it
- 3:31wasn' t a runaway like I was expecting it. It was a piece
- 3:36of wood with the common characteristics of a daughter, but with the exception that
- 3:40she was scratched and injured from various sides. From her she had holes and
- 3:46cuts that seemed to have been made with a machete or a sharp knife.
- 3:52Cassandra pulled out the pointer which had nothing special, only appeared to be plastic
- 3:57and which did not belong to the daughter. Final edge placed it on top
- 4:01of her and offered me the first shift. I didn' t really know
- 4:05what to do with him. I knew they put it on the table and
- 4:09put their hands on top of it, but I wasn' t ready to
- 4:15ask something frame. Realizing that he did not know what to do, he
- 4:18decided to take control and invoke a low world being. Nothing happened, so
- 4:24Cassandra repeated the same thing and everything was quiet. He offered me the pointer
- 4:29again and that time I repeated the same as the two said and the instant
- 4:33I finished the first sentence, the lights in the hallway and the room blinked
- 4:40there was someone else with us. Cassandra excitedly told me that if they would
- 4:45answer me, they had both tried hard and never succeeded. I was already
- 4:49terrified, I didn' t want to be part of that game anymore.
- 4:54So I wanted to give him the pointer to frame so he could handle it,
- 4:59but my fingers wouldn' t get on. They could take off the
- 5:00pointer. I raised both hands and without holding it, this one was holding
- 5:05on to me. Cassandra and Marco looked surprised as if it were a show.
- 5:11Marco put his hands on the pointer and then Cassandra asked if there was
- 5:15a demon there. The daughter moved slowly to the word. So, Marco
- 5:20had the idea then of challenging her, telling her to show herself suddenly.
- 5:26From the room where I had heard the babbling, laughter was heard. That
- 5:31scared the shit out of me and I told them I didn' t want
- 5:34to play anymore. Cassandra understood that it had scared me so much that she
- 5:39said it was best to close the communication with the spirit. Then, no
- 5:44one did anything. The pointer moved to some letters. I saw Marco,
- 5:47who was terrified could not take away the pointer' s gaze, that Sandra
- 5:53repeated that she was not moving him. I looked at the board and the
- 5:58letters I pointed out were the jack and the arp Damente, so I realized
- 6:01that he was laughing at us. The three of us stared at each other
- 6:06and in a scandalous way, Cassandra began to laugh with her mouth open.
- 6:12His laughter was not fun, but rather macabre. We tried to calm her
- 6:17down between me and Marco, but she was still tickling. I realized that
- 6:20he was short of air, as he was becoming purple. From so much
- 6:27laughter I looked at the daughter and implored her to leave her alone and Marco
- 6:30began to pray, but he could not even finish. Our father for asking
- 6:34Cassandra to stop and, if that were not enough, the lights in the
- 6:40hallway and the wings went out. Cassandra was lying face down with the pointer
- 6:45in her hands while laughing. Then it occurred to me to offer you whatever
- 6:49the board wanted if it freed us. Then Cassandra dropped the pointer. I
- 6:56had a sense of freedom. The breath returned to me and I could breathe
- 7:00and Cassandra stopped laughing and took air as she could and slowly returned to her
- 7:05frame color, holding it and with a notebook that was there nearby, Air
- 7:11was pouring on her. I kept saying over and over that everything would be
- 7:14fine. We remained silent for quite some time and I took the couch cover
- 7:18to cover the daughter. I could feel that somehow Cassandra was watching me still
- 7:24breathing with great difficulty. I had hardly realized that the rain had increased and
- 7:30was approaching an electrical storm. I was the first to talk and ask Marco
- 7:34not to leave and stay with us. He accepted, so he got up
- 7:40and went for blankets and pillows. The three of us stayed in the living
- 7:45room with the lights on. I don' t know when I fell asleep,
- 7:49but I woke up shortly before three in the morning. Marco slept calmly,
- 7:55but Cassandra was not at his side. I thought maybe he needed help
- 8:00and he got up from there without making any noise so he wouldn' t
- 8:03bother us. So I went to get her. Although it was a spacious
- 8:07apartment with few rooms. I was having a hard time finding her. I
- 8:11had to wake up to frame to ask him if he had seen her,
- 8:16but he refused, so he looked with me. When we suddenly heard voices
- 8:18from the room of things, it was Cassandra who spoke there. Inside the
- 8:24frame he opened the door and Cassandra was in the dark. Looking down on
- 8:28the floor, he repeated again and again words that I came to identify as
- 8:33Latin. She was in a sort of trance that we couldn' t wake
- 8:39her up from, and even though we shook her and talked to her,
- 8:43we even threw water at her. She followed the same frame she told me
- 8:46it was useless, so we took her out into the living room and sat
- 8:52her on the sofa She kept her eyes fixed on the floor and without blinking.
- 8:54She began to laugh again, but within a few seconds she fainted frame
- 9:01commented that she would take her to the doctor in the morning hoping that the
- 9:05rain would already be removed. He also asked me to wait for the daughter
- 9:07in the black sack and hide her under the sofa bed. He' d
- 9:11get rid of her. Then I had the strange feeling that all this was
- 9:16just beginning. The next day. After returning to the doctor, he told
- 9:22us that perhaps he had a hangover to drink so much and as much as
- 9:26we assured him that it did not. She told us she was fine and
- 9:30didn' t require special attention. I realized that Cassandra wasn' t taking
- 9:33my eyes off me. He seemed to want to, somehow hurt me,
- 9:39but the truth was afraid to ask. Marco tried to spoil her, but
- 9:45her character was that of a crazy woman. He was yelling at Marco and
- 9:48me, too. Even a couple of times he told me to get out
- 9:52of the house. We realized that perhaps something in her changed as the days
- 9:58passed her conduct and he was deranged and toxic. Marco no longer resisted that
- 10:03deal he gave him, so he decided to end the relationship. But it
- 10:07seemed that Cassandra did not care, for she only mocked him. I didn
- 10:13' t want to get into your couple' s problems, so I tried
- 10:18to stay away. One day after work, I stayed to rest in my
- 10:20room instead of going out for a walk with a friend. The department wasn
- 10:26' t the same anymore. I was always very quiet since Marco had finished
- 10:31with Cassandra and rarely in the week had the opportunity to meet her or talk
- 10:35about something she almost always spent in her locked room, so we didn'
- 10:41t interact much. And that afternoon, when I was falling asleep, I
- 10:46heard they knocked on my door. I kept thinking for a moment if it
- 10:50had really been like this or if I imagined it, and again they played.
- 10:56I got up quickly to open, but no one was there. I
- 11:01had a feeling of coldness in my arms. I felt an extensive chill running
- 11:05through my body, which prompted me to close the door. Again it had
- 11:11been a feeling I never felt before. Within minutes I heard several noises in
- 11:16the living room and that the entrance door of the apartment closed tightly. I
- 11:22left my room and realized that Cassandra was no longer there. He didn'
- 11:26t leave me a message or any indication of where he was going. It
- 11:31was in that way that she disappeared for several days, weeks and months.
- 11:35We didn' t hear from her. I contacted Marco to ask him if
- 11:39he' d frequented her lately, but he' d been looking for her
- 11:45for days too. His cell phone left him in the apartment, just like
- 11:48all his belongings, so we kept hoping he' d come back with the
- 11:54passing of days. Marco visited me frequently. At first it was for me
- 11:58to look together we were Cassandra, but it was an excuse to see us.
- 12:03We started to like each other and go out together until we consolidated our
- 12:09engagement one afternoon, a couple of months since Cassandra disappeared. I left to
- 12:13go to the movies with Marco after he came back from work. I opened
- 12:18the apartment and as I had become accustomed to being alone, I did not
- 12:22notice if Cassandra had returned her room. It was always open to let in
- 12:28more ventilation and light. I came to my room and closed the door.
- 12:33When suddenly someone knocked on my door. I was shocked for a few seconds
- 12:39by what I heard, no one was home or at least I hadn'
- 12:43t seen anyone. I thought maybe it was Marco, because he already had
- 12:48keys to the apartment, but in turn it was impossible. He had little
- 12:52to hang with him and knew well that he was not. Close. Again
- 12:56they knocked on my door, but now he asked me to give him to
- 13:01come out for a moment I couldn' t believe it. It was Cassandra
- 13:03' s voice I didn' t know if I felt joy or terror When
- 13:09I heard her talk I asked her where she had been and she only repeated
- 13:15to me that I came out for a moment, I walked to the door
- 13:20and when I put my hand on the handle, I again had the same
- 13:24feeling of chills that I had felt before and my instinct told me not to
- 13:26open the door. I told him to leave. He had nothing to do
- 13:28there, but he didn' t like this, as the door began to
- 13:33shake violently and Cassandra' s voice, repeating me to come out, was
- 13:37no longer the same. His tone changed, becoming more severe and violent.
- 13:43I asked him to leave several times and in an instant everything was silent.
- 13:48For a few minutes I stood by the door, waiting again for it to
- 13:52shake. I had the anxiety to look under her and in doing so I
- 13:58realized that something was there. I could see a white face and her eyes
- 14:03sticking out of her orbits. She was Cassandra. I walked away from the
- 14:07door begging her to leave me alone and in peace, and she began to
- 14:11laugh, like the time we played the daughter. There I realized it wasn
- 14:16' t my old friend. I started praying and asking God, I tried
- 14:20to mark Marco, the cop or my parents, but I had no luck.
- 14:28Cassandra' s macabre laughter was heard all over the apartment. So it
- 14:33was for two hours and then everything calmed down. I had already darkened when
- 14:39I heard someone knocking on my door again. It was Marco who had entered
- 14:43the apartment. I did not yet have the courage to open it, but
- 14:48after much effort on his part, he ended up convincing me. I ended
- 14:52up moving out of fear of something happening again. I left Cassandra' s
- 14:56things in the place and as far as they are still there, otherwise the
- 15:01owner of the place already took her out. Go back to live in Puebla
- 15:05with my family and Marco. I ended the relationship, no matter how much
- 15:09it hurt, but I think it was the best thing for both of us
- 15:13since that last time with what happened to me with Cassandra or what seemed to
- 15:18be her, I have no longer felt that chill that warned me about the
- 15:24danger anonymous account
