- 0:00Speaker 1: Scrubbing In with Becca Tilly and Tanya Red and iHeartRadio
- 0:04Speaker 1: and two time People's Choice Award winning podcast.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Hello everybody, we are scrubbing in.
- 0:15Speaker 3: We have some special guests today.
- 0:17Speaker 4: Very special guests because they just announced that they are
- 0:21Speaker 4: doing a podcast together. But you all know them for many,
- 0:25Speaker 4: many different reasons.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Yeah, you know Juliana from E News Red Carpet Interviews.
- 0:30Speaker 2: She interviewed every celebrity known to man, especially during that era.
- 0:35Speaker 4: She is like goals, Like I am obsessed with Juliana
- 0:38Speaker 4: Ransick and her husband Bill.
- 0:40Speaker 5: They are entrepreneurs. They do so much.
- 0:42Speaker 4: They had a reality television show together and now they
- 0:46Speaker 4: have a podcast, Bill and Juliana the podcast, and.
- 0:49Speaker 2: We thought, why not have the new podcasters come on
- 0:52Speaker 2: for our podcast. So everyone please welcome Juliana and Bill Ransick.
- 1:03Speaker 3: That was like our motto is if not, if.
- 1:06Speaker 5: Not not you, it's not you.
- 1:08Speaker 3: You're not talking for yourself.
- 1:09Speaker 1: I always say that too. You have to be your
- 1:11Speaker 1: biggest fan, yes, and your biggest cheerleader.
- 1:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:14Speaker 3: It's so lovely to see all.
- 1:16Speaker 2: I'm holding your dog in my last how it feels
- 1:19Speaker 2: I feel very immediately connected.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Isn't he the greatest he's wonderful.
- 1:23Speaker 1: So he is our fourth dog, way five now, and
- 1:26Speaker 1: he was a foster that we rescued from a shelter
- 1:29Speaker 1: actually in Los Angeles Carson Shelter, which is a high
- 1:32Speaker 1: kill shelter, and so we rescued him as a foster
- 1:36Speaker 1: and then we ended up adopting him after like five
- 1:38Speaker 1: seconds of him being in our lives, and we rescued
- 1:42Speaker 1: him as a medical senior dog. So he has three legs,
- 1:45Speaker 1: he gets some health stuff, and he's a senior. We
- 1:47Speaker 1: think he's like thirteen or so. And he's the greatest
- 1:51Speaker 1: is he not the greatest? He's lovely, he sleeps a
- 1:56Speaker 1: long time, and he's just the best. And so I'm
- 1:59Speaker 1: really into rescue you and we just love his name
- 2:01Speaker 1: is Leonardo d poodle.
- 2:03Speaker 5: With that name, that's like what, no, oh, you changed it?
- 2:06Speaker 1: We changed it. So interestingly enough, when a dog goes
- 2:08Speaker 1: into the shelter system, most of the time they change
- 2:10Speaker 1: their names to give them like a fresh start, and
- 2:13Speaker 1: a lot of dogs they don't have the history of
- 2:15Speaker 1: so they kind of named them themselves. Do you know
- 2:17Speaker 1: what they named him?
- 2:18Speaker 5: What?
- 2:19Speaker 1: Haha?
- 2:21Speaker 3: I know that's so mean, like tripod or something.
- 2:25Speaker 1: I know because a lot of people refer to and
- 2:33Speaker 1: so they didn't hah. And I was like, So a
- 2:36Speaker 1: volunteer sent me a video because she knew I was
- 2:38Speaker 1: in too rescue, and she said, I know you're doing
- 2:40Speaker 1: a large transport like a flight of rescue dogs from
- 2:45Speaker 1: l A to the Midwest tomorrow. Would you ever want
- 2:48Speaker 1: this dog you just came here. And I was like absolutely,
- 2:51Speaker 1: And so we ended up fostering.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Him, So you just like go. And then Bill knows
- 2:55Speaker 3: that a new dog a two.
- 2:57Speaker 6: Day deal, and I'm like, okay, two days and then
- 3:01Speaker 6: he was seven months ago.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Yeah, Bill was really you were really really like you
- 3:06Speaker 1: loved him from the beginning. Though, Bill very early on
- 3:08Speaker 1: was like I understand, Like why you want to keep him?
- 3:11Speaker 1: He's a great look, how can you not? Yeah, yeah,
- 3:14Speaker 1: he's the cutest. So I love that you're bonding with him.
- 3:16Speaker 1: I think you might need to go no way, but
- 3:21Speaker 1: I can find you one. I can find you an
- 3:23Speaker 1: amazing rescue.
- 3:24Speaker 3: My dog is very much an only child.
- 3:26Speaker 2: So but I could foster and see how it goes,
- 3:28Speaker 2: but I just know i'd have a I'd be a
- 3:30Speaker 2: foster fail every time.
- 3:31Speaker 3: So but y'all have so much going on You're you're oh,
- 3:35Speaker 3: go ahead.
- 3:36Speaker 4: No, there's just like so much to get to And
- 3:38Speaker 4: I'm so happy that you guys have a podcast because
- 3:41Speaker 4: I feel like I lived so much life with you,
- 3:45Speaker 4: Like it's so crazy. I was like looking back at
- 3:47Speaker 4: the timeline of everything and I just feel like we
- 3:49Speaker 4: we got so much from you publicly for such a
- 3:52Speaker 4: long period of time and then you just like went away.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Yeah, and now you're back and we're back.
- 3:59Speaker 7: We left because of our son. You know, we didn't
- 4:00Speaker 7: want to have him on a reality TV show, right
- 4:03Speaker 7: right right.
- 4:03Speaker 6: I think it was kind of the catalyst for us,
- 4:05Speaker 6: you know, retiring from the Juliana.
- 4:07Speaker 5: What age was he when you kind of too Yeah.
- 4:10Speaker 7: We did his first birthday on the show.
- 4:11Speaker 6: We did a few other things, and then it's like,
- 4:14Speaker 6: I don't know if he's gonna want us showing him
- 4:16Speaker 6: being potty trained, Yeah, stuff like that.
- 4:18Speaker 7: That wasn't fair to him. And then we went back
- 4:19Speaker 7: to Chicago full time.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Yeah, and I'll tell you, like it was interesting. We
- 4:23Speaker 1: did eight seasons of our reality show, Juliana and Bell,
- 4:26Speaker 1: and when we were talking about the next season with
- 4:29Speaker 1: the producers that it was so much of it was
- 4:32Speaker 1: like Duke centric on our son, Like so much of
- 4:35Speaker 1: it was like is Duke going to potty train? As
- 4:37Speaker 1: Bill said, like is gonna are you gonna go tour schools?
- 4:41Speaker 1: We'd love to follow that action. And we were like, eh,
- 4:44Speaker 1: it was just too much. And you know, it's one
- 4:46Speaker 1: thing for us to open up about our lives, which
- 4:48Speaker 1: we did, like we talked about my breast cancer journey,
- 4:51Speaker 1: our infertility journey, nothing was off limits. But as soon
- 4:54Speaker 1: as it came to like our little you know, our baby,
- 4:57Speaker 1: it was a different story. And so we yeah, stopped
- 5:01Speaker 1: doing that. And then we at the same time, we
- 5:03Speaker 1: were opening restaurants. Yeah, and then I had a clothing
- 5:07Speaker 1: line on Home Shopping Network that was like getting you know,
- 5:10Speaker 1: more busy, and so we really focused on that. So
- 5:12Speaker 1: we've always like you know, done a couple of TV
- 5:16Speaker 1: things here and there, but mostly focused more on like
- 5:18Speaker 1: the entrepreneurial business things for a few years there.
- 5:23Speaker 5: I mean, it never ends.
- 5:24Speaker 7: This is our latest baby.
- 5:26Speaker 6: So we got Leo, we got Duke, and then we
- 5:28Speaker 6: have Mamada Pandi's Italian food products. So we've got four
- 5:32Speaker 6: different dried pastas, we have four sauces, so we have
- 5:36Speaker 6: a Palmo yeah, her mom's just But we have a rabbiata,
- 5:40Speaker 6: we have a vodka sauce and a bowlonnaise. We have
- 5:42Speaker 6: frozen foods now we have frozen lasagna, frozen meatballs, I mean,
- 5:46Speaker 6: which are now at Target.
- 5:48Speaker 7: And then what else we have olive oils and salamis.
- 5:51Speaker 1: My god.
- 5:53Speaker 5: Entrepreneur, I mean that is.
- 5:55Speaker 7: She's become a good entrepreneur years.
- 5:57Speaker 6: She's definitely blossomed and really taken on that entrepreneurial spirit.
- 6:02Speaker 7: But I think so.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Much of it is like, you know, I always have
- 6:05Speaker 1: a lot of ideas, Like I always have ideas, and
- 6:09Speaker 1: my big thing is I never feel like any idea
- 6:11Speaker 1: is too big, Like I've never been that person. I
- 6:14Speaker 1: feel like I have like no limitations on myself at all.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Like I feel like I could do anything, and I
- 6:20Speaker 1: think anyone can. That's how I feel about anyone. Like
- 6:22Speaker 1: when someone asks me, a friend calls me, or someone
- 6:25Speaker 1: calls for business advice, I'm like, why wouldn't you be
- 6:27Speaker 1: able to do that? Of course you're going to do it.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Let's figure this out. And that's how I think. And
- 6:31Speaker 1: so you know, we have a lot of ideas, but
- 6:34Speaker 1: the ones that actually go someplace, like the restaurants, you know,
- 6:37Speaker 1: like that was a big idea. Getting into the restaurant
- 6:40Speaker 1: business fifteen years ago or sixteen years ago was crazy,
- 6:43Speaker 1: but it has proved to be, you know, very successful.
- 6:47Speaker 1: We have nine now and it's been great. But the
- 6:49Speaker 1: mom oft to pandelon that's my mom's cooking, like that
- 6:52Speaker 1: came naturally from the restaurants because my mom's signature pasta
- 6:57Speaker 1: is like the most popular dish on the me you
- 7:00Speaker 1: and so we were like why not jar jar or
- 7:03Speaker 1: sauce and so it's always.
- 7:05Speaker 7: Like, well, but we took it took us about two years.
- 7:07Speaker 6: I just want to It wasn't that easy because we
- 7:09Speaker 6: wanted it to be very clean. We wanted to be
- 7:11Speaker 6: the highest end. The yeah sugar added tomatoes. You don't
- 7:16Speaker 6: see the skins of the tomatoes. Like we really kind
- 7:19Speaker 6: of made it more of a small batch type and
- 7:23Speaker 6: people it just took off. I mean now we're in
- 7:25Speaker 6: over three thousand stores Kroger Ralph's here in La Harris,
- 7:29Speaker 6: Teeter on the East coast around these you name it,
- 7:33Speaker 6: I mean Target. So it's like people want high quality stuff.
- 7:37Speaker 6: So I'm glad we took our time and really did it.
- 7:39Speaker 6: The slow way rather than just kind of rush it out.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Yeah, can I starting.
- 7:43Speaker 2: I've heard I've heard nightmare stories about starting a restaurant
- 7:46Speaker 2: and opening a restaurant and how it is so time
- 7:50Speaker 2: consuming and you are you have to be there basically
- 7:53Speaker 2: twenty four to seven or have someone who's running it right.
- 7:57Speaker 2: And what was the success because you said you have
- 7:59Speaker 2: nine now, so obviously you found the magic and like
- 8:03Speaker 2: making it happen, But what was how did you do that?
- 8:05Speaker 6: I think it's about the people, you know. And we
- 8:08Speaker 6: found some really good partners. Their family had been in
- 8:11Speaker 6: the restaurant business for fifty plus years and now they
- 8:15Speaker 6: were the next generation of restaurant tours. And we through
- 8:18Speaker 6: Greg Olsen, who was a NFL broadcaster who was a
- 8:21Speaker 6: Chicago Bear eighteen years ago, and we were out to
- 8:24Speaker 6: dinner and Juliana was explaining to them that we're going
- 8:26Speaker 6: to open an Italian restaurant and we had envisioned this
- 8:29Speaker 6: little thirty seat red checker tablecloth joint where we couldn't
- 8:33Speaker 6: lose too much money because I didn't.
- 8:35Speaker 7: Want to do it. Yeah, and I'm literally in the
- 8:37Speaker 7: background telling.
- 8:38Speaker 6: You we're not We're not doing this like this is
- 8:40Speaker 6: like you said, it's the dumbest investment you could make.
- 8:43Speaker 6: And then he said, well you should meet my friends
- 8:45Speaker 6: r J and Jared Melman and their family has been
- 8:48Speaker 6: in the restaurant business because they want to open up
- 8:49Speaker 6: an Italian restaurant. And we met and we kind of
- 8:51Speaker 6: court at each other for about a year, and then
- 8:53Speaker 6: the first RPM was born, which stands for Ransick plus Melman,
- 8:58Speaker 6: which is the two families.
- 9:00Speaker 7: And that was it.
- 9:01Speaker 6: And you know, the first restaurant is fifteen thousand square
- 9:04Speaker 6: feet with you know, a couple hundred employees. And I
- 9:06Speaker 6: was like, oh my god, I put so much money
- 9:08Speaker 6: into this. I thought it was going to, you know,
- 9:10Speaker 6: just be a disaster. And it took off. And now
- 9:12Speaker 6: we have nine and we have twelve hundred you know,
- 9:15Speaker 6: team members and the RPM family and it's we hire
- 9:19Speaker 6: the best, you know, we hire really good people.
- 9:21Speaker 1: I think it's interesting, like when we first started, so
- 9:23Speaker 1: much of the focuses on food, right, like you have
- 9:25Speaker 1: to make sure you make the best food and people
- 9:27Speaker 1: love your food. But what I started noticing, it's funny
- 9:30Speaker 1: back then, I think fifteen years ago, was Twitter was
- 9:32Speaker 1: everything was on Twitter for all the kids out there
- 9:34Speaker 1: exp with Twitter, but Twitter, which was so huge, right,
- 9:39Speaker 1: and that was before Instagram. I remember people would tweet
- 9:42Speaker 1: me all the time, like in the same sentence it
- 9:45Speaker 1: always said, I tried our piment time and the food's amazing,
- 9:48Speaker 1: and so is the service. I love the food and
- 9:50Speaker 1: the service. I love the food, and my server was amazing.
- 9:53Speaker 1: It was really interesting. I went back to the team.
- 9:55Speaker 1: I'm like, I have to be honest with you guys.
- 9:57Speaker 1: As much as I hear how great the food is,
- 9:59Speaker 1: the service is just right up there with the food.
- 10:02Speaker 1: And I think people feel like if they're going to
- 10:04Speaker 1: go out and spend money and like it's expensive going
- 10:07Speaker 1: out to eat, you want not only great food, but
- 10:10Speaker 1: you want to be treated like a rock star, you
- 10:12Speaker 1: know what I mean. And you want that server to
- 10:14Speaker 1: be like amazing and like really great informative but not pushy.
- 10:18Speaker 1: It's like, so we really work so hard on having
- 10:21Speaker 1: this incredible team that makes everyone feel really welcome and
- 10:24Speaker 1: just makes you feel like you have like an incredible night.
- 10:28Speaker 5: Service is everything to me, right, everything?
- 10:30Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I agree.
- 10:31Speaker 1: I think it's a big deal. And so when we started,
- 10:33Speaker 1: it was kind of this crazy tree.
- 10:35Speaker 7: Do you remember how that you make them feel?
- 10:37Speaker 5: That's how I pick hotels that I stay at service.
- 10:40Speaker 1: But I remember, so it was you know, it was
- 10:41Speaker 1: so amazing, and then Bill and I yeah, and then
- 10:43Speaker 1: it just led one led to another. We opened Rpmattalion
- 10:47Speaker 1: was first, and there was RPM Steak, RPMC Food and
- 10:51Speaker 1: so they've become.
- 10:53Speaker 6: In Vegas, DC, working Land in Chicago. This is the
- 11:00Speaker 6: this is the project we're really excited about because it's
- 11:02Speaker 6: home cooking. You know, it's it's the closest thing you're
- 11:05Speaker 6: going to get to home cooked sauce.
- 11:08Speaker 4: Right, but busy, but not too busy to launch a
- 11:11Speaker 4: new podcast. I know, Okay, I have so many questions
- 11:15Speaker 4: about the podcast because one anytime I say, like the
- 11:18Speaker 4: two of you, I always say Juliana and Bill ran sick.
- 11:20Speaker 5: But the podcast is Bill and Juliana Ran.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 11:25Speaker 7: People know I did applaud them for the decision, So
- 11:33Speaker 7: this is technically.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Right, that makes sense.
- 11:36Speaker 5: Actually okay, it.
- 11:37Speaker 7: Doesn't, it really does. But but they the iHeart people
- 11:42Speaker 7: and their brilliant team.
- 11:43Speaker 6: As you guys know, they said it needs to be
- 11:45Speaker 6: Bill and Juliana because when people go to google it,
- 11:48Speaker 6: if they if they google Julian and Bill, all the
- 11:50Speaker 6: eight seasons of Juliana and Bill will pop up and
- 11:53Speaker 6: the podcast will get buried to the bottom.
- 11:55Speaker 3: That makes sense.
- 11:56Speaker 5: This does make sense, but I listen.
- 11:58Speaker 7: I think it was a right decision. You need to
- 12:02Speaker 7: change it up.
- 12:02Speaker 1: But you're right, Tanya, thank you so much for bringing
- 12:05Speaker 1: that up. So naturally, I was like, all right, guys,
- 12:07Speaker 1: so should we call it Juleanna Bill, like the podcast
- 12:10Speaker 1: Jennen Bill, this John Bill. And they're like, actually, we
- 12:13Speaker 1: have something to tell you. I was like, what's that, Like,
- 12:15Speaker 1: it's Bill and Juliana. I was like, excuse me.
- 12:19Speaker 7: I was like, but you know everyone.
- 12:24Speaker 1: And I said, are you.
- 12:29Speaker 7: So literally?
- 12:30Speaker 1: I was like, this can't happen. And so then they
- 12:34Speaker 1: brought up that point about searching it and I was like, yeah,
- 12:36Speaker 1: that's actually a really good point.
- 12:38Speaker 7: But it was fine.
- 12:38Speaker 1: I didn't mind either way. I honestly was thinking about
- 12:41Speaker 1: it more is a business woman like you, Tanya, thank
- 12:43Speaker 1: you so much, And I thought, you know, we've done.
- 12:45Speaker 4: Weird bran totally brand equity, relational equity. But I do
- 12:51Speaker 4: like also that it's just called it's just your names.
- 12:53Speaker 4: And then the podcast that you come up with some
- 12:54Speaker 4: like right sticky yes.
- 13:03Speaker 3: Medical professionals.
- 13:04Speaker 2: It gets very confused when I tell them the name.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Of us scrubbing and was taken. So but it's chic, like.
- 13:11Speaker 4: At the title of your podcast is like chic, and
- 13:13Speaker 4: they's just like what it is.
- 13:14Speaker 1: It is what it is, and I will be honest
- 13:16Speaker 1: with you for so long, I mean I remember going
- 13:19Speaker 1: way back to like remember we met with a company
- 13:22Speaker 1: way back years and years ago about doing a podcast
- 13:26Speaker 1: and which was going to be Westward one, okay, and
- 13:29Speaker 1: it was going.
- 13:30Speaker 7: To be and there was another company we couldn't make it.
- 13:33Speaker 1: There were a couple oh that, yeah, there were a
- 13:35Speaker 1: couple so years ago, and it was always going to
- 13:38Speaker 1: be like celebrity oriented because I was doing my carpet
- 13:42Speaker 1: and e news or it was going to be like
- 13:44Speaker 1: business and we just never you know once, I mean,
- 13:47Speaker 1: I've worked at you for twenty years. You know, I
- 13:49Speaker 1: did that for twenty years, and so I was like,
- 13:51Speaker 1: if I ever did a podcast, like, I don't think
- 13:53Speaker 1: that that's what I would want to keep on doing
- 13:55Speaker 1: because I've done it for so long.
- 13:56Speaker 5: Like interesting, we couldn't.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Come up with new ideas of what to do a
- 13:59Speaker 1: podcast on. And you know how it happened is I
- 14:02Speaker 1: got my first colonoscopy this year, and at two in
- 14:05Speaker 1: the morning, I woke up. I had to set an
- 14:08Speaker 1: alarm because I could not finish the liquid that prep
- 14:10Speaker 1: they gave you.
- 14:11Speaker 5: No, my husband has got one, Yeah did he? How
- 14:14Speaker 5: was the prep for him?
- 14:15Speaker 1: That liquid? He didn't mind drinking that stuff.
- 14:18Speaker 5: He's just like a beast.
- 14:19Speaker 1: He's one in a million. Okay, most people hate drinking
- 14:22Speaker 1: me stuff. So at two in the morning, I had
- 14:24Speaker 1: to set an alarm because I couldn't finish it, and like,
- 14:26Speaker 1: you have to finish it before your colnosophy otherwise it's like,
- 14:29Speaker 1: oh my gosh, right, like you're going to ruin everything
- 14:31Speaker 1: you can't go. So two in the morning, I'm like,
- 14:34Speaker 1: I literally can't have another sip. I'm canceling my appointment.
- 14:37Speaker 1: But before I did, I went online and I searched
- 14:40Speaker 1: do I have to finish my colonoscopy prep? And finally, like,
- 14:44Speaker 1: I see a note on like a chat room from
- 14:46Speaker 1: like a nurse. It says I've been a colonoscopy nurse
- 14:49Speaker 1: for twenty five years and dot dot dot, and she
- 14:52Speaker 1: answered the question, which was basically like if you're healthy,
- 14:56Speaker 1: if you've never gotten one before and you have a
- 14:57Speaker 1: little liquid left, you're fine sort of thing, and that
- 15:00Speaker 1: made me feel so much better. And I went and
- 15:02Speaker 1: got it and I was fine. And that afternoon I
- 15:05Speaker 1: said to Bill, oh my gosh, you know, we should
- 15:06Speaker 1: do a podcast on just answering these random questions that
- 15:10Speaker 1: people have at like two in the morning. So like
- 15:12Speaker 1: even when we interview a celebrity, like we interviewed Sebastian Manuscaco,
- 15:16Speaker 1: it's instead of just like Sebastian Maniscaco's our guest today,
- 15:19Speaker 1: we're going to talk about his life and his career,
- 15:22Speaker 1: We're going to tackle a question people have with Sebastian Maniscotto.
- 15:25Speaker 1: So the question was do you stay at your in
- 15:28Speaker 1: laws house or a hotel?
- 15:30Speaker 5: And so right, doesn't he say with that.
- 15:32Speaker 1: No, not anymore? So he is he doesn't stay at
- 15:41Speaker 1: the in laws anymore except for like very special occasions
- 15:46Speaker 1: and exceptions. But the point is, so we just thought,
- 15:49Speaker 1: you know, let's do so it's everything from like the
- 15:53Speaker 1: most searched questions. We actually did research, like what are
- 15:56Speaker 1: the most search questions online? And one of them, surprisingly
- 15:59Speaker 1: if you type in why is my like why is
- 16:02Speaker 1: my could be anything right, like why is my boyfriend
- 16:05Speaker 1: of jerk? Or why is my Why is my dog
- 16:07Speaker 1: sleeping all day?
- 16:08Speaker 2: Do you know?
- 16:09Speaker 7: I think he loves you?
- 16:11Speaker 6: A couple of months, we'll be back in August.
- 16:14Speaker 1: One of the most searched questions when you do why
- 16:18Speaker 1: is my like, one of the top three that comes
- 16:20Speaker 1: up is why is my poop green? So we're taking
- 16:23Speaker 1: that question.
- 16:23Speaker 3: On who are you bringing that to?
- 16:25Speaker 7: Celebrity?
- 16:29Speaker 5: Celebrity gets that.
- 16:30Speaker 3: Jem of a question.
- 16:32Speaker 7: It's really well known doctor from Northwestern doctor. Yeah, yeah, he's.
- 16:36Speaker 3: Gonna google that. I've googled that, especially kids.
- 16:41Speaker 6: Because if he I think it's tricks or lucky charms.
- 16:43Speaker 6: It turns the Krispy treats that too, Huh.
- 16:46Speaker 7: It is interesting.
- 16:48Speaker 5: Are you eating rice Krispy trees?
- 16:50Speaker 3: She's like regularly does pretty damn good.
- 16:55Speaker 1: So we brought in, funny enough, our colonoscopy doctor who
- 16:59Speaker 1: did both of our and asko be separately, although that
- 17:01Speaker 1: would be fun to do together, but anyways, you'd have
- 17:04Speaker 1: to focus on one or the other. But anyway, we
- 17:07Speaker 1: brought him on and the question was why is my
- 17:10Speaker 1: poop green? And so therefore, like if someone's searching that,
- 17:13Speaker 1: hopefully they'll be like, Okay, there's so many articles, but
- 17:16Speaker 1: like maybe I could listen to a podcast about that,
- 17:18Speaker 1: you know, and it makes it a little more interesting.
- 17:20Speaker 1: And so while we were talking to him, you guys,
- 17:22Speaker 1: tell me if you've ever thought of this? Ready, guess
- 17:24Speaker 1: what question came up in my mind that I think
- 17:26Speaker 1: a lot of people can relate to. But maybe you'll
- 17:28Speaker 1: think I'm crazy. Are you ready? It's very embarrassing.
- 17:30Speaker 5: I'm scared.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Okay, So when we were talking about why is my
- 17:33Speaker 1: poop green? Not my poop but people's poop? Yeah, yeah,
- 17:37Speaker 1: all of a sudden i'm talking to him, I'm like,
- 17:39Speaker 1: oh my god, I have a question about my bowels
- 17:42Speaker 1: that I've wanted to ask someone. Tell me if this
- 17:45Speaker 1: happens to you. Do you ever walk into TJ Max
- 17:48Speaker 1: or Home Goods? Oh, this is and Noble and have
- 17:50Speaker 1: to run to the bathroom because you have to go
- 17:51Speaker 1: number two?
- 17:55Speaker 2: So yeah, friends that have it's specifically Barnes and Noble,
- 18:01Speaker 2: TJ Max and Home Goods.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Yes, there's something. Did you get a name?
- 18:06Speaker 7: But you got to watches?
- 18:09Speaker 1: Well, airplanes is a different sort of.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Because that does like the pressure actually I think does
- 18:14Speaker 2: have a physical.
- 18:17Speaker 7: As No.
- 18:19Speaker 5: No, this is so.
- 18:22Speaker 1: No, no, no, this is different than the phenomenon from teaching.
- 18:26Speaker 7: You're nervous about flying.
- 18:27Speaker 1: So what I was going to say is when I
- 18:28Speaker 1: go on an airplane, it's different, like it's nervous. But
- 18:32Speaker 1: so I mean, I'll tell you so the TJ Max one,
- 18:35Speaker 1: the reason he said that this happens is, oh my god,
- 18:40Speaker 1: and none of.
- 18:40Speaker 6: These people are going to have to tune in the
- 18:43Speaker 6: millions of people listening to the show.
- 18:45Speaker 1: How about this. It has to do funny enough. A
- 18:47Speaker 1: lot of people think it's the smell of the books
- 18:50Speaker 1: at Barnes and Noble, or smell of coffee, but it's not.
- 18:54Speaker 1: It's actually your state of mind changes.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Because you're relaxed.
- 19:00Speaker 5: There.
- 19:01Speaker 4: You couldn't get me relaxed enough to go to go
- 19:05Speaker 4: number two in any public bathroom. Yeah, I can't do
- 19:09Speaker 4: major anxiety.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Went home instead it all day.
- 19:13Speaker 5: If I'm not home for five days, I will hold
- 19:15Speaker 5: her for five days.
- 19:16Speaker 6: I have no I held it on an eight hour
- 19:18Speaker 6: flight one like I'm not going now so bad.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Always i feel like I'm like, I also am I
- 19:26Speaker 1: going to do?
- 19:27Speaker 8: I had to do it once and then it's a
- 19:29Speaker 8: whole thing. I sat down in my thing and I'm like,
- 19:32Speaker 8: I'm gonna get you know, I didn't the inside of
- 19:37Speaker 8: the toilet. I'm like, oh, I'm gonna I'm gonna have herpes.
- 19:42Speaker 4: That I can't even got my my like work office
- 19:46Speaker 4: one are every day that's like my second.
- 19:48Speaker 5: Home every day every day.
- 19:50Speaker 1: I can't go here.
- 19:51Speaker 5: No, a lot of people don't have problems going here.
- 19:55Speaker 3: That's why she does it.
- 19:57Speaker 7: I forget it.
- 19:57Speaker 2: It.
- 19:58Speaker 1: I like had a designated stall. I knew exactly, and
- 20:00Speaker 1: I didn't even go down.
- 20:01Speaker 5: To my tress room bath rooms.
- 20:04Speaker 1: Oh, I don't care.
- 20:05Speaker 4: I liked doing it if it was private, if it
- 20:07Speaker 4: was like I knew, nobody could like be around me.
- 20:10Speaker 3: But I think she's worried about it. I said, I
- 20:12Speaker 3: don't think you're worried about it. You didn't.
- 20:14Speaker 7: You don't even take.
- 20:15Speaker 1: The extra thirty seconds to go to the dressing room.
- 20:17Speaker 1: I would just go right in the news. You haven't.
- 20:19Speaker 6: You're able to do number two? Like I like to
- 20:24Speaker 6: take my time and like I'm gonna scroll And I
- 20:29Speaker 6: used to when I was younger, to have magazines, adult magazines, but.
- 20:33Speaker 7: Like horror magazine.
- 20:35Speaker 6: Four.
- 20:36Speaker 7: Yeah, but she she can. I'm like, wait, you you
- 20:40Speaker 7: went pooped that quick? It's it's increditing fast, like lightning fast.
- 20:44Speaker 1: But can I tell you something. First of all, I
- 20:46Speaker 1: would never scroll on this because I feel like someone's
- 20:48Speaker 1: watching me. I feel like the camera is somehow going
- 20:50Speaker 1: to or I feel like I'm gonna go live accidentally.
- 20:53Speaker 1: I've done that before, which.
- 20:54Speaker 5: Is fear I've never heard before.
- 20:56Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 20:56Speaker 1: No, these are all things though we're gonna be tackling
- 21:01Speaker 1: on the podcast.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Going back to the colonoscopy.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I love this.
- 21:23Speaker 2: No, because I have seen this is actually more of
- 21:25Speaker 2: a getting into more serious thing. Okay, getting a I've
- 21:29Speaker 2: seen so many people talk about doing that younger and
- 21:32Speaker 2: younger and encouraging people to get checked.
- 21:35Speaker 3: What was the was.
- 21:36Speaker 7: It just We've got a whole episode on it right now.
- 21:39Speaker 6: He's saying it should be at forty five because there
- 21:42Speaker 6: was forty what it was fifty, So I didn't get
- 21:45Speaker 6: mind till fifty.
- 21:46Speaker 7: You got yours at fifty.
- 21:48Speaker 6: But now he's saying that they're recommending it at forty
- 21:51Speaker 6: but maybe maybe or forty five. I'm sorry, maybe now
- 21:53Speaker 6: it's forty. But it's just preventive. You know, the sooner
- 21:56Speaker 6: you can catch it, the better off you are, you know,
- 21:58Speaker 6: And I think when you do a kolonoscopy. It's going
- 22:01Speaker 6: to tell you these polyps. You look for these polyps
- 22:04Speaker 6: and those are pre cancers. So you're really ahead of
- 22:06Speaker 6: the game versus some of the other options out there
- 22:09Speaker 6: where you've already gotten it once you know the stuff
- 22:12Speaker 6: where you send it in and all that's still great.
- 22:15Speaker 6: Those are all great options. Blood, So we go really deep.
- 22:20Speaker 6: The episode is called talking Shit.
- 22:23Speaker 5: How many episodes do you have so far? Like have you?
- 22:28Speaker 1: We interviewed doctor Amen, who I'm obsessed with, you guys love.
- 22:31Speaker 7: Doctor Amin's a very famous neurologist.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Oh my god, you guys, He's the one. He's like
- 22:35Speaker 1: all over Instagram. So he's just amazing and he does books.
- 22:39Speaker 5: Yeah, I think I know who you're talking.
- 22:43Speaker 1: He's amazing. And so we had brain scans done in
- 22:47Speaker 1: his clinic, which is not just like oh, pop in
- 22:49Speaker 1: and brain scan, like it's a whole thing. And it
- 22:52Speaker 1: was crazy. So he looked at both of our brains.
- 22:54Speaker 6: We're very competitive, and she has a better brain.
- 22:58Speaker 7: I've got a better call.
- 22:59Speaker 1: It was beautiful.
- 23:00Speaker 3: There you go, son, Bread.
- 23:07Speaker 4: I'm so curious as to like, why you wanted to
- 23:09Speaker 4: go so far from the celebrity stuff because I feel
- 23:12Speaker 4: like you.
- 23:12Speaker 5: Did it for twenty years, like you do. You don't
- 23:14Speaker 5: have that itch anymore.
- 23:15Speaker 1: No, you know what it is. I think that I
- 23:18Speaker 1: here's the thing you have to know, Like I think
- 23:22Speaker 1: in life, it's like timing, you know. And for me,
- 23:25Speaker 1: I loved and I was so into what I was
- 23:28Speaker 1: doing for so long. Yeah, and I just think like
- 23:31Speaker 1: it's nice to just do something different, you know what
- 23:34Speaker 1: I mean.
- 23:34Speaker 4: Like Queen of the Red Car, like not even the
- 23:37Speaker 4: Queen like like because the Queen has like princesses and
- 23:40Speaker 4: like people that come after like you were it, Like
- 23:44Speaker 4: that was it, you know what I mean, Like you
- 23:45Speaker 4: were that moment. And I just feel like ever since
- 23:48Speaker 4: you left, like it's never been the same.
- 23:50Speaker 1: You're so sweet.
- 23:51Speaker 7: I read that a lot. I realized it's a totally
- 23:53Speaker 7: like I don't watch anymore and the.
- 23:55Speaker 4: Show is like gone away, come back, one away, come back.
- 23:59Speaker 5: And you can't.
- 24:00Speaker 4: It's just like there was a moment in time. I
- 24:02Speaker 4: think it was a lot in part to you. I
- 24:05Speaker 4: think Ryan had a lot to do with it. I
- 24:06Speaker 4: also think it was that moment in time.
- 24:09Speaker 7: Were the dream magic.
- 24:10Speaker 4: It was like magic in a bottle. But it's just
- 24:13Speaker 4: great time yeah, and I just feel like you shaped
- 24:17Speaker 4: like so many women's lives, I know, even for me,
- 24:20Speaker 4: Like I was always like I remember when I got
- 24:21Speaker 4: to do I didn't do a carpet with you, but
- 24:24Speaker 4: I was like doing one of the shows while you
- 24:26Speaker 4: were doing the carpet and I was like wow, Like
- 24:27Speaker 4: I can't believe I'm on the same.
- 24:29Speaker 5: Like time period is you do you know what I mean?
- 24:33Speaker 4: Like for so many women, and like you just are
- 24:37Speaker 4: that person and like you, I don't know, there's something
- 24:41Speaker 4: in me that like I just want you to not
- 24:44Speaker 4: like go back to it, but like I don't know.
- 24:46Speaker 6: We're gonna have celebrities on. Don't worry, We'll get into it,
- 24:50Speaker 6: but it's we're gonna also pivot tackle.
- 24:52Speaker 7: You know.
- 24:53Speaker 6: There's so much bad information out there totally, and I
- 24:56Speaker 6: fallen prey to it. Like I scrolled up when I'm
- 24:58Speaker 6: on a flight on Instagram, Like I bought the Groons
- 25:00Speaker 6: vitamins that they're all these celebrities are still luny.
- 25:04Speaker 7: I get a monthly shiftment. You know.
- 25:06Speaker 6: I got hooked into these zin's right because they said
- 25:08Speaker 6: it's going to prevent Alzheimer's and dementia.
- 25:11Speaker 7: So I started sampling with these zins.
- 25:13Speaker 5: Well, isn't that tobacco?
- 25:16Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 25:16Speaker 6: I never never had nicotine in my life, never smoked,
- 25:19Speaker 6: And I'm watching all these guys talk about nicotine prevents
- 25:23Speaker 6: Alzheimer's and dementia.
- 25:25Speaker 1: The way, I don't do it anymore.
- 25:28Speaker 6: I tried it for a few weeks and I started
- 25:32Speaker 6: with one and I'm like, look two, and then I
- 25:35Speaker 6: find out it's more addictive than heroin, like the stuff.
- 25:37Speaker 7: So I was able to nip it right away.
- 25:39Speaker 6: But I bought into the lie or I don't know
- 25:41Speaker 6: if it's a lie, but according to doctor, and.
- 25:43Speaker 1: You bought into like the marketing of it or like, like.
- 25:48Speaker 7: The thought of getting Alzheimer's or dementious scares me.
- 25:51Speaker 4: Also, I feel like you can, like you can do
- 25:53Speaker 4: research and kind of not fabricate the outcome. But if
- 25:57Speaker 4: you can do research and get whatever outcome.
- 25:59Speaker 7: You can sew the number one hundred percent.
- 26:01Speaker 5: So like the stuff you're seeing is like real, but
- 26:03Speaker 5: like is it real?
- 26:04Speaker 1: But I think, to Bill's point, I know exactly.
- 26:08Speaker 7: Floating around out there, it feels.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Like there's so much that people are seeing. Imagine, like
- 26:13Speaker 1: you know, if you're young, right and you're seeing this
- 26:15Speaker 1: stuff and you're like, wait, what, I didn't know this
- 26:18Speaker 1: about this vitamin or this, and you're just going to
- 26:21Speaker 1: kind of believe the first thing you see. So we
- 26:23Speaker 1: want to be able to like take whatever people are
- 26:25Speaker 1: buzzing about on Instagram or social media or just in
- 26:29Speaker 1: you know the world, and like bring in an expert
- 26:31Speaker 1: to talk about that. So that's what we did. Like
- 26:33Speaker 1: doctor Amon came in for that episode about nicotine and
- 26:36Speaker 1: he was like, no, like, do not listen to that,
- 26:38Speaker 1: And he's explained why. So it was just interesting. You know,
- 26:42Speaker 1: it's like just getting the right information out.
- 26:43Speaker 4: Will you guys ever get go into relationships stuff? Because
- 26:46Speaker 4: you've been married now for twenty years. That's amazing.
- 26:50Speaker 1: Share, I know it's crazy, right you like me? You
- 26:53Speaker 1: know what's so crazy is, Yeah, we met. I interviewed Bill.
- 26:56Speaker 5: I'll never forget it. I'm like so invested in you guys.
- 27:00Speaker 2: I love it.
- 27:01Speaker 1: I remember it when I Interyeah, I interviewed him. He'd
- 27:04Speaker 1: won The Apprentice. The first season of The Apprentice, the
- 27:07Speaker 1: you know show, which was like the two biggest shows
- 27:10Speaker 1: at that time. They were really like the first of
- 27:11Speaker 1: their kind. It was Survivor on CBS, Apprentice on NBC
- 27:15Speaker 1: and they were huge. When Bill won The Apprentice the
- 27:17Speaker 1: first season, it was a live finale and in New
- 27:20Speaker 1: York and twenty five thirty million people watched that like
- 27:24Speaker 1: that to get those numbers, it's like impossible these days.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Reality it wasn't exist. So it was like the heyday
- 27:30Speaker 1: of that kind of competition reality show, and so everyone
- 27:33Speaker 1: was watching. I had just become anchor on E News
- 27:36Speaker 1: and so I got well. I begged for the job
- 27:39Speaker 1: to go interview Bill because I had a crush on him,
- 27:42Speaker 1: and I watched him.
- 27:42Speaker 5: It was like, do you remember this? No, Oh my gosh,
- 27:45Speaker 5: I commented.
- 27:46Speaker 1: To you, and so that's us. Can you believe that
- 27:53Speaker 1: that guy is that crazy? That's me interviewing him? And
- 27:55Speaker 1: if you the crazy thing is in the interview. I
- 27:58Speaker 1: were literally flirting the entire time, and I'm like, Bill,
- 28:00Speaker 1: w want and a girl ded it done? And He's like, Oh,
- 28:03Speaker 1: I'm holding out for you and maybe we should get married.
- 28:06Speaker 5: Ye interviewed, I'm not even kidding you.
- 28:09Speaker 4: I because of your love story, I thought that I
- 28:11Speaker 4: was gonna like fall in with any any single guy
- 28:14Speaker 4: I interviewed for the Morning show, like.
- 28:16Speaker 5: Tim Tebow, went Powell. It's gonna happen to me too,
- 28:22Speaker 5: the way it happened to Juliana. Yeah, didn't happen that way.
- 28:25Speaker 1: It was so crazy, And so I interviewed Bill and.
- 28:28Speaker 7: Then pul would have been a good one.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Yeah, well she's married now.
- 28:32Speaker 7: Very high.
- 28:35Speaker 6: That dude ha is yoked. I saw him in the
- 28:37Speaker 6: locker room in Mexico.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Yeah, he is just.
- 28:42Speaker 7: Freaking jacked, and so I feel like a frail little
- 28:47Speaker 7: You look good.
- 28:48Speaker 1: So I interviewed Bill and then yeah, we got engaged
- 28:52Speaker 1: ten months later, and then we've been married almost twenty years.
- 28:55Speaker 1: So we got married two thousand and seven, so it's
- 28:57Speaker 1: almost twenty twenty seven. So but we've been together now
- 29:01Speaker 1: y years this month. But what's so crazy is that, Yeah,
- 29:04Speaker 1: I mean we just hit it off, and so Bill
- 29:06Speaker 1: was doing The Apprentice, I was anchoring on E and
- 29:10Speaker 1: yeah we've been together ever since. So relationship stuff, definitely
- 29:13Speaker 1: we'll talk about.
- 29:14Speaker 6: Yeah, we're gonna have Jason and Lauren Kennedy on. Hopefully
- 29:17Speaker 6: we'll get Adam and Bahadi on. I just talked to keep.
- 29:20Speaker 7: Out there, but will get him on.
- 29:22Speaker 1: But I think a big thing is for us is yeah,
- 29:25Speaker 1: we're like I think we've been married long enough that
- 29:27Speaker 1: we're like happy to talk about anything, but like even
- 29:30Speaker 1: one thing is I noticed there's like a friend group
- 29:32Speaker 1: I have in Chicago, and I noticed that like one
- 29:36Speaker 1: got divorced and then the next one got divorced and
- 29:38Speaker 1: the next one. So like when I came up with
- 29:39Speaker 1: this episode, I'm like, let's do an episode on is
- 29:42Speaker 1: divorce contagious? Like suddenly like when one thing gets the
- 29:45Speaker 1: worces next one. So to answer your question like relationship
- 29:49Speaker 1: and anything like sleep divorce, like Bill and I don't
- 29:51Speaker 1: always sleep in the same bed, and you don't well.
- 29:54Speaker 7: Because she has four dogs in the bed with her.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Five Oh that doesn't go in the sure zeus doesn't.
- 29:59Speaker 7: Go dogs in the bed, I'm afraid. And they're all little.
- 30:03Speaker 7: You can roll over, roll over and kill one of
- 30:06Speaker 7: these dogs.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Like that's not why you don't do it because you
- 30:08Speaker 1: don't want to be because Muffin wakes you.
- 30:09Speaker 7: Up to want to be.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Pause at you.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Small dogs weirdly take up a lot of rooms more
- 30:14Speaker 2: than you think.
- 30:14Speaker 7: No, it's a great.
- 30:15Speaker 6: What's weird to me though, is like she makes me
- 30:18Speaker 6: take my shoes off in the house.
- 30:19Speaker 7: But these dogs who are out and about.
- 30:22Speaker 6: Walking all over the city of Chicago can sleep in
- 30:24Speaker 6: bed with her.
- 30:25Speaker 7: It's like it's not clean.
- 30:27Speaker 1: I wipe their paws. It's still.
- 30:30Speaker 5: Does work. I do the same.
- 30:31Speaker 1: Oh my god, I wipe their pause and so like. Yeah,
- 30:34Speaker 1: so that even like sleep divorce.
- 30:37Speaker 7: That's the reason we occasionally have sleep divorce.
- 30:40Speaker 6: It's more than a case probably, And I like to
- 30:43Speaker 6: watch what I want to watch.
- 30:45Speaker 1: Okay, you know what, when you've been together so long
- 30:49Speaker 1: and you're like so secure in your marriage, it's okay,
- 30:52Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like a lot of stuff
- 30:54Speaker 1: that you didn't used to do, you'll see you start
- 30:56Speaker 1: to do and it's okay.
- 30:58Speaker 2: You know.
- 30:59Speaker 1: But Bill and I are very very I don't know,
- 31:02Speaker 1: we're best friends. I mean, it's like I feel like
- 31:05Speaker 1: I just met you.
- 31:06Speaker 7: I can't believe it's been twenty yeh. It's crazy.
- 31:09Speaker 1: It's so crazy.
- 31:10Speaker 7: We're so we're kids. I just looked at that video.
- 31:13Speaker 3: So young was it.
- 31:15Speaker 2: I can't even imagine Letting choosing to have the reality
- 31:19Speaker 2: show when they came to y'all, because how how long
- 31:21Speaker 2: had y'all been married when.
- 31:23Speaker 6: They filmed our wedding? Yeah, we were the executive producers
- 31:26Speaker 6: of it though. Oh so we had Yeah, we did.
- 31:28Speaker 7: You know, we had some control on it a little bit.
- 31:30Speaker 3: I mean not really like letting.
- 31:32Speaker 7: It wasn't like they just came in and stayed for
- 31:34Speaker 7: a month, right schedule. Yeah, we kind of.
- 31:37Speaker 6: It was not it wasn't like The Bachelor or Apprentice
- 31:43Speaker 6: where you're living with cameras and everything, or Survivor.
- 31:47Speaker 4: It was you know, we had men of Survivor so
- 31:50Speaker 4: much a lot of just wondering, like letting the letting
- 31:53Speaker 4: cameras into your life and documenting, you know.
- 31:56Speaker 3: The the good, the bad, the real, all the things.
- 31:58Speaker 6: Well, I think if we said we're going to do it,
- 32:00Speaker 6: we want to make it real and authentic. And that
- 32:02Speaker 6: was something we stuck with. Like people can smell when
- 32:06Speaker 6: it's not authentic, you know, like I can spot it
- 32:08Speaker 6: a mile away when I watched some of these shows.
- 32:10Speaker 2: Yeah, but y'all survived, That's what I'm saying. Your relation
- 32:14Speaker 2: survived it. And then having and especially I guess it
- 32:18Speaker 2: was kind of before the craze of social media and
- 32:21Speaker 2: TikTok and people making a video about every single thing
- 32:24Speaker 2: that said or done or you know, so there was
- 32:27Speaker 2: that element.
- 32:28Speaker 3: Of you escaped that part of it.
- 32:31Speaker 2: But was there any hesitation doing a podcast and letting
- 32:34Speaker 2: people back into your relationship at all?
- 32:37Speaker 1: I mean, I'll tell you, I will be honest with you.
- 32:39Speaker 1: We definitely had issues during the reality show, like how
- 32:44Speaker 1: could you not reading?
- 32:45Speaker 7: So Bill?
- 32:46Speaker 1: Like, I think I was much more open because I
- 32:49Speaker 1: was doing e every day and Bill had done a
- 32:51Speaker 1: huge reality show. But I think when we did our
- 32:54Speaker 1: reality like we would definitely like it was there was
- 32:56Speaker 1: tension because what like things we would decide to open
- 33:02Speaker 1: up on. Maybe he didn't feel like so comfortable at
- 33:04Speaker 1: the beginning and things like that. But like even when
- 33:06Speaker 1: we would do our interviews, remember so you know, the producers,
- 33:09Speaker 1: they would take Bill separately and they'd be like, Okay,
- 33:15Speaker 1: so Bill, you know today, here's what we're going to
- 33:17Speaker 1: talk about. And they would be asking him questions in
- 33:19Speaker 1: his interview and they'd be like, so Juliana said that
- 33:23Speaker 1: you said this to her after you guys had dinner
- 33:27Speaker 1: that night, and Bill's like, she told you that? And
- 33:29Speaker 1: I was like, the producers would coming and then Bill's like,
- 33:33Speaker 1: why are you telling them so? But our thing, you know,
- 33:38Speaker 1: we always had to I'm like, Bill, it's a reality show,
- 33:40Speaker 1: Like you can't just not you can't leave that stuff out,
- 33:44Speaker 1: so we have to like stick together. But it was
- 33:46Speaker 1: definitely hard.
- 33:47Speaker 7: I mean, you could watch with your kids, you know.
- 33:50Speaker 6: Yeah, we weren't flipping over tables at Christenings and you
- 33:53Speaker 6: know things like that.
- 33:55Speaker 5: It was very wholesome.
- 33:55Speaker 6: It was a wholesome show. Like you said, we tackled
- 33:59Speaker 6: a lot of really important issues. And even to this day,
- 34:01Speaker 6: I walk through an airport and someone will say, you know,
- 34:03Speaker 6: thank you. My family now knows what we're experiencing with
- 34:06Speaker 6: infertility because of your show. My wife got a mammogram
- 34:09Speaker 6: because she watched the Juhn Bill Show. And we haven't
- 34:12Speaker 6: done that show in ten years. Yeah, and still the
- 34:14Speaker 6: state people remember it.
- 34:16Speaker 1: It still airs.
- 34:17Speaker 7: Yeah, I guess it's still still on Amazon.
- 34:19Speaker 1: Right, no YouTube, YouTube.
- 34:21Speaker 7: Idea, We don't get a Nickel show.
- 34:25Speaker 1: Yeah. I still get residuals from random things like I
- 34:29Speaker 1: had one line in the movie Fantastic four, a rise
- 34:31Speaker 1: of the Surfer or is it the Silver Surfer?
- 34:34Speaker 2: Right?
- 34:36Speaker 1: Yeah? Is that right?
- 34:36Speaker 3: Okay?
- 34:38Speaker 1: And I literally said one line, Oh my god, I
- 34:40Speaker 1: have a funny story about that. By the way, I
- 34:42Speaker 1: said one line, you know, just Scalba, Yeah movie, Okay.
- 34:44Speaker 1: I had one line. They flew me to Canada for it.
- 34:47Speaker 1: I was, you know, hosting E and they were like, oh,
- 34:49Speaker 1: we need a reporter. I'm like great, So I go
- 34:51Speaker 1: up there. I get hired to do this. I'm so excited.
- 34:53Speaker 1: They like paid me and everything. I still get residuals.
- 34:55Speaker 1: They're like they're like four dollars and twenty cents. But
- 34:57Speaker 1: I'm like this is amazing, Like this is great. I'm
- 34:59Speaker 1: still twenty years later. But the funny thing is when
- 35:03Speaker 1: they sent me to do that movie, I was so
- 35:06Speaker 1: excited and like they had a trailer for me. I'm like, wow,
- 35:09Speaker 1: this is like a big deal. Like I thought it
- 35:10Speaker 1: was only like a line, like I'm getting a lot
- 35:12Speaker 1: of like love here. So they had like everything for me.
- 35:15Speaker 1: I go out there. They're like Juliane, are you ready?
- 35:17Speaker 1: And then there's like a million extras. It's like a
- 35:20Speaker 1: whole huge set and all this stuff. I'm like, yeah,
- 35:22Speaker 1: I'm ready, and I'm holding my mic You're gonna die
- 35:25Speaker 1: and they're like action, background, action, and I'm like and
- 35:30Speaker 1: I'm just standing there looking at the camera and I'm like,
- 35:33Speaker 1: I'm sorry, where's the prompter. Where's the prompter? I'm on
- 35:37Speaker 1: a movie set and they go cut and the doctor's
- 35:40Speaker 1: like I'm sorry what And I go, oh, where's the prompter?
- 35:45Speaker 1: Isn't there a prompt? I don't know my lines? They
- 35:47Speaker 1: were like, you don't didn't memorize the lines and it
- 35:49Speaker 1: was like lines about characters and stuff like I don't
- 35:52Speaker 1: And I was like, I have no idea. They're like,
- 35:55Speaker 1: and like, all this stuff's budgeted like to the minute, right,
- 35:59Speaker 1: so it's not like I just go back and like
- 36:01Speaker 1: memorize it and come back. So I was like, oh
- 36:03Speaker 1: my god, of course. And they were like, you're acting
- 36:05Speaker 1: like you don't have a prompter. I was like, oh
- 36:08Speaker 1: my god.
- 36:08Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 36:09Speaker 1: And so anyway, I had to go off to the
- 36:11Speaker 1: side and I was like shaking. I was like, oh
- 36:13Speaker 1: my Mike. I called my agent. They were like, you've
- 36:15Speaker 1: got to be kidding that you didn't memorize the lines
- 36:18Speaker 1: on a major motion.
- 36:19Speaker 5: Fail on her part or there whoever?
- 36:21Speaker 4: Your agent, Yeah, they should tell you, like, no, you're
- 36:25Speaker 4: used to working with the prompter every day, like you
- 36:27Speaker 4: know you're gonna have to memorize your lines, and.
- 36:28Speaker 1: You know what, it was major fail. I was like
- 36:32Speaker 1: I cannot But anyway, long story short, thank god, I
- 36:34Speaker 1: have like a pretty good memory, so I went off
- 36:36Speaker 1: and like had to memorize it. But yeah, so to
- 36:38Speaker 1: this day, they still send me checks for like almost
- 36:41Speaker 1: blowing that whole shoe. I've already got some so much money.
- 36:45Speaker 1: And I'm telling you, it was like I had to
- 36:46Speaker 1: say like character's names, so I didn't know any of it,
- 36:49Speaker 1: and so I have to go off and I'm like,
- 36:50Speaker 1: can you guys read me the lines like in between
- 36:53Speaker 1: I'm talking, I think they had to read the lines
- 36:55Speaker 1: to me. But that was my story there. But but anyway,
- 36:59Speaker 1: with the reality sho, I think that it was great.
- 37:02Speaker 1: We were really were really proud of the show.
- 37:04Speaker 5: You know, it is excellent.
- 37:06Speaker 2: I do feel like you were y'all story about infertility
- 37:08Speaker 2: was the first. When I think about talking about that publicly,
- 37:12Speaker 2: I feel like you were one of the first people
- 37:14Speaker 2: who was in your position with the amount of fans
- 37:17Speaker 2: and followers you had to openly speak about that.
- 37:21Speaker 4: I can't even believe you did that because I'm like
- 37:24Speaker 4: trying as whatever I'm trying right now, and I'm like,
- 37:28Speaker 4: it's so crazy just even talking about that.
- 37:30Speaker 5: Yeah, not even like the next.
- 37:32Speaker 4: Step, because there's so it's like if I have one
- 37:36Speaker 4: more person, tell me just to get drunk and have
- 37:37Speaker 4: sex one more time.
- 37:38Speaker 5: I'm like literally gonna like, yeah, have some sex. I'm like,
- 37:41Speaker 5: I'm going to punch you in yes. So I'm like,
- 37:44Speaker 5: I'm sure you got so much unsolicited advice.
- 37:47Speaker 7: I mean, fifteen years ago was talked about. It was real.
- 37:51Speaker 7: It was it was like some shame, you know.
- 37:53Speaker 5: There's still shames I can't even imagine.
- 37:55Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was crazy. But that I don't know,
- 37:58Speaker 1: I just that was the thing. We just felt like
- 38:01Speaker 1: it was we had agreed to do this show. He
- 38:03Speaker 1: had come to us and said, you know, we want
- 38:05Speaker 1: to film your wedding in Italy, and then that led
- 38:07Speaker 1: to like, hey, a lot of people watch that special.
- 38:10Speaker 1: Would you ever do a reality show? And we were like,
- 38:11Speaker 1: only if it's positive, you know, because we're not we
- 38:14Speaker 1: don't have like drama, like I mean, you know, and
- 38:17Speaker 1: more than the regular person, and so we're not going
- 38:20Speaker 1: to fake anything. And they were like great, whatever, and
- 38:23Speaker 1: so yeah, and we're shooting the show, and the reality
- 38:26Speaker 1: was we weren't like we were having all this, you know,
- 38:29Speaker 1: all these issues trying up a baby, and so we're like,
- 38:32Speaker 1: are we going to open up about this, you know,
- 38:33Speaker 1: are we going to tell the producers? And so we did,
- 38:35Speaker 1: and I'm so glad we did because to this day,
- 38:39Speaker 1: I mean, people still tell us and people will still
- 38:41Speaker 1: come to me about like, hey, I'm thinking about getting
- 38:44Speaker 1: a surrogate, Like what do you think of that? You know,
- 38:46Speaker 1: And it's like because I had to We had to
- 38:48Speaker 1: get a stag as I was going through breast cancer
- 38:50Speaker 1: treatment because I was diagnosed with breast cancer. So just
- 38:53Speaker 1: opening up about all of it. Though looking back, it
- 38:55Speaker 1: was definitely hard during the time, you know, because it's
- 38:58Speaker 1: like you're living it, like all day long talking about it.
- 39:01Speaker 1: But at the same time it was it's so rewarding
- 39:04Speaker 1: because people got something from it, you know, and that
- 39:07Speaker 1: was exciting. So that's I think in a way, that's
- 39:09Speaker 1: why the podcast is an evolution of the show because
- 39:13Speaker 1: it's not like in our home, but it's still us
- 39:16Speaker 1: being able to like give people information.
- 39:18Speaker 4: Yeah, it's still you guys are able to be yourselves. Also,
- 39:23Speaker 4: it's like not as invasive.
- 39:24Speaker 7: Right correct.
- 39:25Speaker 1: Yeah, although I feel like we're really like we didn't
- 39:28Speaker 1: talk about our like Colin's before and now we're talking
- 39:31Speaker 1: about and pooping number two.
- 39:33Speaker 3: These are helpful to the people. You're doing this more
- 39:38Speaker 3: than people, Yeah, but I.
- 39:39Speaker 1: Do feel like we're almost saying more.
- 39:42Speaker 7: Yeah, it's weird. Yeah, that's pretty personally weird.
- 39:48Speaker 2: Thing about it being a microphone in your face and
- 39:51Speaker 2: not a I mean we have cameras, but like not
- 39:53Speaker 2: a camera though.
- 39:55Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 39:56Speaker 2: Like sometimes we have a conversation and and then they
- 39:58Speaker 2: post a clip from the podcas and I'm like, oh, yeah,
- 40:01Speaker 2: we talked about that.
- 40:03Speaker 5: Yeah, or like my husband will see it and he'd like,
- 40:05Speaker 5: you said that on the podcast.
- 40:06Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, I was so so.
- 40:07Speaker 5: I'm so sorry. I didn't realized I was a secret.
- 40:10Speaker 2: Sorry exactly how I My mind is blown that Duke
- 40:15Speaker 2: is fourteen, I know because he's six, And I'm like.
- 40:17Speaker 1: He's six, isn't that crazy?
- 40:19Speaker 7: Crazy?
- 40:20Speaker 1: He's taller than me. He didn't want to go to today.
- 40:22Speaker 1: He's freaking out. Right before we came in here, listening
- 40:26Speaker 1: to Duke, we were in the other room and he's like,
- 40:28Speaker 1: I am not going. He's like, take away my phone
- 40:30Speaker 1: for a month, Like he's giving his full teenage punishments,
- 40:34Speaker 1: like I don't have to go on a big trip,
- 40:36Speaker 1: take away my phone for a but the and We're like,
- 40:38Speaker 1: he's such a good negotiator, our son. He's a master
- 40:42Speaker 1: manipulating negotiator, like hustles a time. He's a hustler, Like,
- 40:45Speaker 1: you've never seen anyone negotiate like this child in your life.
- 40:48Speaker 1: And even our adult friends were like, somehow Duke just
- 40:52Speaker 1: convinced me to like buy some I'm like, what is
- 40:54Speaker 1: he convinced you to do? But he's like relentless cann.
- 40:58Speaker 7: Me to buy a car once and I literally woke
- 41:00Speaker 7: up the next time.
- 41:00Speaker 6: I'm like, what did I do? I would want this car?
- 41:04Speaker 6: The guy just grinded me and grinding me. I'm like,
- 41:06Speaker 6: I've just tapped out. I'm like, I'm going, and I
- 41:09Speaker 6: went and bought the car, and I literally woke up
- 41:11Speaker 6: the next day with tremendous remorse. He does how the
- 41:13Speaker 6: hell did this happen?
- 41:14Speaker 1: He does PowerPoint presentations. But what's so crazy is that
- 41:18Speaker 1: Bill sold the car and made money on it. So
- 41:20Speaker 1: that's good. So Duke is very good at like.
- 41:22Speaker 7: I said, we're putting.
- 41:24Speaker 6: We shipped it away for the winter for storage because
- 41:26Speaker 6: in the winter in Chicago you can't drive his car.
- 41:28Speaker 6: So I shipped it and put it in storage, and
- 41:30Speaker 6: then I sold it without telling him, but then he.
- 41:34Speaker 1: Was happy because he knew Bill was bummed about buying it.
- 41:36Speaker 1: And then he's like, see, Dad, I told you you'd
- 41:38Speaker 1: make money, that it would go up in value. We
- 41:40Speaker 1: were always like cars go down in value, but Duke
- 41:43Speaker 1: is very yes. So before we came in, he's like,
- 41:47Speaker 1: I'm like, dude, you're going to lose your phone for
- 41:50Speaker 1: two weeks. He's like, make it a month. I'm like, well,
- 41:52Speaker 1: how was this.
- 41:54Speaker 5: Okay?
- 41:55Speaker 1: But guess what, he didn't go to tutoring because we're
- 41:58Speaker 1: not there. It did go to tutoring. Now he is
- 42:01Speaker 1: getting his phone taken away. Well, let's see if you want.
- 42:04Speaker 1: But my point is he is yeah, he's like very
- 42:09Speaker 1: he said that, or you said.
- 42:10Speaker 7: That with this voice thingy, please answer my call.
- 42:16Speaker 1: Anyway, He's just like this little man. He's hilarious. But yes,
- 42:19Speaker 1: he's so grown up. And he's now like half an
- 42:22Speaker 1: inch taller than me, and it's weird when your kid
- 42:24Speaker 1: gets taller than you. It's a little bit weird.
- 42:27Speaker 7: He's in eleven men's shoes smell because he.
- 42:32Speaker 6: Wears them without socks, and I was like, I put
- 42:35Speaker 6: on my sneakers and I'm in a meeting the other
- 42:37Speaker 6: day and like, oh my, that's me. My shoes smelled
- 42:41Speaker 6: so bad. And I'm in this meeting and it was
- 42:43Speaker 6: because he wears them without socks and sweat.
- 42:45Speaker 1: He does.
- 42:46Speaker 7: And my.
- 42:49Speaker 6: People, I'm sitting in this room, tight room, and there's
- 42:52Speaker 6: that horrible smell and it's me and I'm like, oh
- 42:55Speaker 6: my god.
- 42:56Speaker 3: Who came to this meeting smell?
- 42:57Speaker 7: Yeah? I thought it was.
- 42:58Speaker 1: I don't know why he wears your shoes, because he
- 43:00Speaker 1: is an amazing shoe collection. He loves shoes.
- 43:18Speaker 2: So I mean, I'm thinking y'all describing him. I'm thinking
- 43:22Speaker 2: about your your comment earlier about you feel like you
- 43:25Speaker 2: can do anything and there's no stopping you. And then
- 43:27Speaker 2: I'm thinking about your mind and creating all these businesses,
- 43:30Speaker 2: and I'm like, of course your child is going to
- 43:32Speaker 2: be negotiating.
- 43:34Speaker 7: Yes, that's what people say.
- 43:36Speaker 1: They're like, he's the apple doesn't fall far from the
- 43:38Speaker 1: tree in terms of like he's very business minded. He's
- 43:41Speaker 1: always trying to come up with some business.
- 43:44Speaker 8: He's not.
- 43:45Speaker 1: Yeah it is, it's great, it's very good.
- 43:46Speaker 7: No, he likes I mean, he better make a lot
- 43:49Speaker 7: of money when.
- 43:54Speaker 1: He wants his birthday, like most kids want like Pokemon
- 43:58Speaker 1: his age or like you know whatever. He's like, Mom,
- 44:02Speaker 1: I want to take you. Can you like, can we
- 44:04Speaker 1: drive somewhere? I'm like, where do you want to go? Target? No.
- 44:07Speaker 1: He pulls up to a French like bakery and I'm like, oh,
- 44:10Speaker 1: are we getting like dessert? What do we do? We
- 44:12Speaker 1: walk in he wanted a tin of caviar. Five caviar.
- 44:18Speaker 1: I mean, what the heck this is not I go no,
- 44:22Speaker 1: and let me tell you why. I was like, duke a,
- 44:24Speaker 1: I'm not spending five French I don't. We don't need caviar,
- 44:27Speaker 1: Like for what is this? Yeah, And he somehow got
- 44:30Speaker 1: it in his head he wants this fancy caviar to go.
- 44:33Speaker 1: I wonder why.
- 44:34Speaker 6: Well, he goes into all the RPMs and he goes
- 44:36Speaker 6: into the kitchen and he hangs out with the chefs
- 44:39Speaker 6: and they're like try this, dude, try that, and like
- 44:42Speaker 6: he's eating snow beef. You know this this Japanese wagoo
- 44:46Speaker 6: snow beef where it's up in the mountains, and it's
- 44:48Speaker 6: like this rare type of cot Like I don't even
- 44:51Speaker 6: so these chefs are.
- 44:52Speaker 5: Really your fault. It's really at the end of the
- 44:55Speaker 5: Day Chefs.
- 44:58Speaker 3: Collection. He's trying.
- 45:02Speaker 5: We have to wrap.
- 45:03Speaker 4: They they've got to go before you guys go. Okay,
- 45:05Speaker 4: obviously we're gonna Bill. It's hard to say. Bill and
- 45:08Speaker 4: Juliana thank you podcast. Everybody, make sure you listen to it,
- 45:12Speaker 4: check it out, give them some love. But before you go,
- 45:15Speaker 4: I did want to get your take on I'm sure
- 45:17Speaker 4: you've seen all this with like influencers on the Red Carpet,
- 45:20Speaker 4: our influencers interview.
- 45:22Speaker 5: Have you seen any of this discourse?
- 45:24Speaker 1: What's going on?
- 45:24Speaker 5: Oh my god?
- 45:26Speaker 4: There you know there was this No, there's a lot
- 45:29Speaker 4: we're not just named names, but like they have a
- 45:31Speaker 4: lot of influencers that they put on like the Red
- 45:33Speaker 4: Carpet to do interviews, and they're not the most prepared,
- 45:37Speaker 4: so the interviews get kind of awkward, they go south,
- 45:39Speaker 4: and so there's this whole like debate of like should
- 45:42Speaker 4: influencers should we bring back real journalists?
- 45:45Speaker 5: And that's kind of like the big thing.
- 45:47Speaker 6: Is, can I say if somebody that's in the background
- 45:49Speaker 6: she prepared for every Red Carpet, like like Mike Tyson
- 45:52Speaker 6: going in the ring, like studied, I would quiz her,
- 45:56Speaker 6: like you really could watch and that's and it showed
- 46:00Speaker 6: and these people think you can just show up.
- 46:01Speaker 7: And it's not that simple, right, she worked, studied a job.
- 46:06Speaker 1: It's a job, it is. I have to be honest, though,
- 46:08Speaker 1: I think, like, you know, not everyone's the same, right,
- 46:12Speaker 1: even when we were journalists on the red carpet, right,
- 46:14Speaker 1: we all had very different styles. So I think it's
- 46:17Speaker 1: like not so much about is it an influencer versus
- 46:19Speaker 1: a journalist. I just think it's about, as Bill said,
- 46:23Speaker 1: like is the person prepared? Like I'm all for that,
- 46:26Speaker 1: I really am. And I think that you know, it's
- 46:31Speaker 1: really about like people being in the moment. Like so
- 46:35Speaker 1: if this if it's an influencer, and they're really good
- 46:37Speaker 1: at like being in the moment. They love pop culture,
- 46:41Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like they understand it, they
- 46:42Speaker 1: know who they're interviewing, they know what. Like For me,
- 46:45Speaker 1: I think so much as yes, I was prepared, but
- 46:47Speaker 1: I was also I used to always see interviews. Sometimes
- 46:51Speaker 1: I would prepare it by being a little unprepared. And
- 46:54Speaker 1: what I mean by that is like if you're so
- 46:57Speaker 1: prepared you're just looking at your notes. That's worse in
- 46:59Speaker 1: a way. You have to notice like oh this person's
- 47:02Speaker 1: shoes are like mismatched, so let's talk about that, or
- 47:06Speaker 1: being perceptive, or.
- 47:07Speaker 7: They've got ten carrots of diamonds on their hands, yeah.
- 47:10Speaker 1: Exactly, yeah right, or like, oh my gosh, this person
- 47:13Speaker 1: that I'm interviewing, I see behind them, like they're here
- 47:15Speaker 1: with their mom, Like I let's bring the mom in.
- 47:18Speaker 1: So it's just more about honestly, it's just more about
- 47:21Speaker 1: people who just like love this so much. Like when
- 47:24Speaker 1: I was doing Red Carpet for twenty years, like that
- 47:26Speaker 1: was all I was doing day and day out, was
- 47:29Speaker 1: watching movies, TV shows, listening to the music, like so
- 47:31Speaker 1: I could interview anyone and I was like, what's up?
- 47:34Speaker 1: Because I just felt like I could talk to you
- 47:36Speaker 1: about anything because I knew all your stuff. So I
- 47:39Speaker 1: think that like it's not so much journalists first influencer.
- 47:43Speaker 1: I honestly think it's just about the person's personality.
- 47:48Speaker 4: It's so true, right, And because I'm like, it's not
- 47:50Speaker 4: I think some of these influencers that they were just
- 47:52Speaker 4: not prepared and you can just tell. And I think
- 47:54Speaker 4: it's just like more of a character thing versus like
- 47:56Speaker 4: influencer versus journalists.
- 47:58Speaker 1: Yeah, because you get it. I mean I think, you
- 47:59Speaker 1: know e for so long, like we were all very
- 48:02Speaker 1: like prepared, and I think because we were like in
- 48:05Speaker 1: it all day. Yeah, you know, even with Ryan, you
- 48:08Speaker 1: know what I mean, Like you're interviewing these people constantly,
- 48:11Speaker 1: so when you would see them, there was like a
- 48:12Speaker 1: natural rapport.
- 48:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 48:14Speaker 1: And so I think it's not about influencer journalists. It's
- 48:16Speaker 1: about if you're kind of put on a red carpet
- 48:18Speaker 1: and you don't like know these people yet, it's always
- 48:22Speaker 1: it can be awkward.
- 48:23Speaker 4: But I think the red carpet has become less of
- 48:26Speaker 4: what it used to be. I feel like people do
- 48:28Speaker 4: not prepare when they go to do interviews journalists or
- 48:31Speaker 4: it's like a lot there's a lot of people lately.
- 48:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I think, how would you not I would never
- 48:35Speaker 1: dream of not prepared.
- 48:36Speaker 6: I think I think the red carpet is not what
- 48:39Speaker 6: it once was, just as far as people's interests and
- 48:42Speaker 6: if you look at the readings, right, because it's such
- 48:45Speaker 6: a fragmented business now there's so many people to know
- 48:49Speaker 6: between all the platforms and all the different shows and podcasts, like,
- 48:54Speaker 6: it's not it used to be a very small demographic
- 48:57Speaker 6: and now it's it's YouTubers and I mean these YouTube
- 49:00Speaker 6: are incredible.
- 49:04Speaker 7: Beast is a billionaire these and you.
- 49:07Speaker 1: Guys know, like when we were doing Red Carpet. At
- 49:10Speaker 1: the height of Red Carpet, it was, you know, we
- 49:12Speaker 1: didn't have social media the way we have to, right,
- 49:15Speaker 1: so you had to wait to see what a celebrity
- 49:18Speaker 1: was going to say or or someone was wearing. And
- 49:21Speaker 1: now before the Red Carpet even starts, every the celebrities
- 49:24Speaker 1: are posting their looks, they're posting what they had eight
- 49:27Speaker 1: that day, what they did that day, who they're coming with.
- 49:29Speaker 1: So like the urgency of tuning in live to watch
- 49:33Speaker 1: isn't there like it used to be so, And that's
- 49:36Speaker 1: definitely an Instagram thing, right. I think Instagram changed the
- 49:40Speaker 1: Red Carpet game and so because now every celebrity is
- 49:44Speaker 1: on Instagram and showing their lives, so it's just not
- 49:47Speaker 1: I think it's just a different day and age. You know,
- 49:49Speaker 1: things have just changed.
- 49:50Speaker 2: And I think if you didn't know the glory days
- 49:52Speaker 2: of that, you don't realize how much you how much
- 49:55Speaker 2: we miss it because it was so exciting to see what.
- 49:58Speaker 3: Someone was wearing and respected.
- 50:01Speaker 2: It was I respected, but not and also not getting
- 50:04Speaker 2: to hear about them because we didn't know what they
- 50:07Speaker 2: were doing, whereas now we know you can actually ask
- 50:11Speaker 2: questions about what they did yesterday.
- 50:13Speaker 1: You know that's it. I really think it's it. I
- 50:15Speaker 1: really don't. Yeah, I really think that's what's happened. So
- 50:18Speaker 1: it's like, what is like the new way to do
- 50:21Speaker 1: red carpet?
- 50:22Speaker 7: Right?
- 50:22Speaker 1: What is the like new interesting way to do it?
- 50:25Speaker 1: The modern way? So that's like, I think, whatever one.
- 50:46Speaker 2: When you off the top of your head, because I
- 50:48Speaker 2: feel like you interviewed everybody multiple times, the famous of
- 50:52Speaker 2: the famous. Did you have anyone off the top of
- 50:54Speaker 2: your head where you look back and you're like I
- 50:56Speaker 2: loved every time I got to interview them, or I
- 50:58Speaker 2: can answer dreaded every time.
- 51:00Speaker 7: Very few clear.
- 51:02Speaker 1: George Clooney, like he just I always said, like the
- 51:06Speaker 1: bigger the star in a way, the more they would
- 51:09Speaker 1: understand like the game right, Like they would just give
- 51:13Speaker 1: you a great interview. And it was almost half the
- 51:15Speaker 1: reason why they were so famous is because they just knew,
- 51:19Speaker 1: like give them what they want, give us what we want.
- 51:21Speaker 1: Like when I want to red carpet and I'm interviewing you,
- 51:24Speaker 1: I'm not interviewing you because of the questions I want
- 51:27Speaker 1: to ask. I'm interviewing you for like all these people.
- 51:30Speaker 1: And you know, there was a time when He's red
- 51:33Speaker 1: carpet was in one hundred and forty countries, so we
- 51:35Speaker 1: were broadcast all around the world. People all around the
- 51:38Speaker 1: world would tune in, right, And so it's like when
- 51:41Speaker 1: I held that microphone, I always thought about that when
- 51:44Speaker 1: that light came on, all my nerves would go away,
- 51:46Speaker 1: and I was like, you're going to ask questions for
- 51:49Speaker 1: everyone watching around the world, like, and it might that's
- 51:52Speaker 1: why they weren't all so like serious. They were like fun. Yeah,
- 51:55Speaker 1: I always just had fun, tried to have fun. But
- 51:57Speaker 1: Clooney always like came ready to give not me, but
- 52:02Speaker 1: through me his audience, like when the fans what they wanted.
- 52:05Speaker 1: So he was like charming and cute and fun. So
- 52:08Speaker 1: George Cleary for sure was always fun.
- 52:11Speaker 7: Sandra Bullock Love she was a big fan of The
- 52:14Speaker 7: Bill or the Julianna Bill Show.
- 52:16Speaker 1: Yeah, she was walked off of stage. She came backstage
- 52:19Speaker 1: for your Live on E and I think it was
- 52:21Speaker 1: a golden globe. She was like holding a golden globe
- 52:24Speaker 1: and she literally like walks up I'm like, Sandralla, congratulations,
- 52:27Speaker 1: like she's coming into our room to do an interviews.
- 52:28Speaker 1: Be goes, oh my god. I loved the Juliana Bill show.
- 52:31Speaker 1: I was like, wait what And she went into a
- 52:33Speaker 1: whole thing because I loved to run a Beth and
- 52:35Speaker 1: watch Juliana Bill. And literally I was like, this is
- 52:38Speaker 1: a woman who never had to say that, and she knows.
- 52:42Speaker 1: She knows by saying that that, like she's making my
- 52:44Speaker 1: life right, like she's making my career dreams come true.
- 52:48Speaker 1: And it was like such an intentional, like little gift
- 52:51Speaker 1: she gave, Like it was cool.
- 52:52Speaker 4: She was still signing for you too, like yeah, like
- 52:55Speaker 4: you got I love the show.
- 52:56Speaker 5: You should all watch it too.
- 52:57Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, And like for her to have that
- 53:00Speaker 1: just she was cool enough to do that.
- 53:02Speaker 7: Lady, the girl's girl, Lady.
- 53:04Speaker 6: Whenever she was on the red carpet, she would mention
- 53:06Speaker 6: the RPM restaurants because she would come in.
- 53:08Speaker 5: She's a foodie.
- 53:09Speaker 7: She made me sit and have dinner with and.
- 53:17Speaker 6: She was so nice and I sat and had dinner
- 53:21Speaker 6: with her and they were like, let's call Juliana and
- 53:23Speaker 6: She's like Shela thought it was some drunk girl from
- 53:26Speaker 6: the restaurant, like, hey, how someone wants to say hi.
- 53:28Speaker 7: She's like no, no, no, no, no no no. I was like,
- 53:30Speaker 7: who's the back in the heyday? People were like can
- 53:33Speaker 7: we call her? And she's like Stephanie, Stephanie.
- 53:38Speaker 6: It was so like major, but she would promote our restaurants.
- 53:42Speaker 7: She could get I love it.
- 53:43Speaker 1: I remember I was walking off the stage I just hosted.
- 53:46Speaker 1: I used to host the Miss USA and Miss Universe
- 53:49Speaker 1: pageants for like a stretch of time and I was
- 53:52Speaker 1: canic off. Oh my god, dream come true. I was
- 53:55Speaker 1: walking off stage. The show had just ended. I mean
- 53:58Speaker 1: we were live. It was like Miss Universe. Can you imagine?
- 54:00Speaker 1: I think Olivia Colpole won that I did it well.
- 54:03Speaker 1: She definitely won. When I Yeah Universe, when Lady Gaga call,
- 54:09Speaker 1: when Lady Gaga was on the call, I think it
- 54:11Speaker 1: was the Olivia cople one. So literally like the broadcast
- 54:14Speaker 1: is over, Oh my gosh, We're like celebrate. I'm walking
- 54:17Speaker 1: off the stage. The phone rings, it's Bill and I
- 54:19Speaker 1: think it's Bill calling to say like congratulations. I watched
- 54:21Speaker 1: Miss University did.
- 54:22Speaker 7: A great job.
- 54:23Speaker 1: And I'm r. Pimian and so a girl. I have
- 54:26Speaker 1: a you know woman don't want to talk to you.
- 54:28Speaker 1: I'm like what, I'm like, I just finished Miss Universe.
- 54:31Speaker 7: Could it be you're gonna want to talk to them?
- 54:33Speaker 1: And she's like, Juliana, I'm like, it's like it's Stephanie.
- 54:36Speaker 1: I'm like, and I just knew immediately. I'm like, Hi, you.
- 54:39Speaker 5: Knew i'd be like I did.
- 54:42Speaker 1: And it was that she was like, I'm here with
- 54:45Speaker 1: your lovely husband and I'm having a beautiful She is
- 54:47Speaker 1: the nicest person. She was always so lovely to me
- 54:52Speaker 1: on the red carpet, and that's what I mean, like
- 54:54Speaker 1: the big stars that were just like incredible, and she
- 54:58Speaker 1: just yeah, I just loved her. And and once again
- 55:01Speaker 1: always I think she like and I don't know this
- 55:03Speaker 1: for sure, but I feel like she like knew in
- 55:05Speaker 1: her head, like you know, like this is a gift
- 55:08Speaker 1: to you, you know What's just like she's such a nice person.
- 55:12Speaker 1: And so I think those are like three that come
- 55:14Speaker 1: to my for sure.
- 55:16Speaker 3: Ye, Sandra is her number done. She's obsessed.
- 55:26Speaker 5: Those are major.
- 55:28Speaker 1: So it was a great time and I don't know,
- 55:30Speaker 1: I wish we could like come back to that time again,
- 55:32Speaker 1: you know, where you could have those like amazing moments I.
- 55:36Speaker 4: Know, but I think also and now it's because like
- 55:39Speaker 4: there's like you're saying, the bigger, the star, the they
- 55:43Speaker 4: would use you to like get to their fans, like
- 55:45Speaker 4: they wouldn't like you know what I mean, But now
- 55:47Speaker 4: there's so much on if you ask the wrong question
- 55:51Speaker 4: and they get offended and no, like the big ones,
- 55:56Speaker 4: the big ones, they can they can take it and
- 55:58Speaker 4: they all just like spin it and I'll say whatever
- 56:00Speaker 4: they want, do you know what I mean?
- 56:01Speaker 5: They're not gonna do that, and you make.
- 56:03Speaker 1: It's a different time.
- 56:04Speaker 7: It is definitely have an idea. Why don't we have
- 56:07Speaker 7: you guys on our show and we'll continue this question.
- 56:13Speaker 6: You guys, sorry when you come on our show. I
- 56:15Speaker 6: want to know what you think of the mam and
- 56:17Speaker 6: to Pandy food. So please go home and try it.
- 56:20Speaker 1: I will.
- 56:20Speaker 4: My husband's like a big food yeah, I mean, he's
- 56:24Speaker 4: very into cooking right now.
- 56:26Speaker 1: Dot com ok Iant, can I tell you something Ralph
- 56:29Speaker 1: here and we gave you hats too. I hope you like. Yes,
- 56:31Speaker 1: I mean, and we have other colors.
- 56:32Speaker 7: Get a hat because it's a Chicago thing.
- 56:34Speaker 5: I am glued for you though, so I will not
- 56:36Speaker 5: partake in the pasta but I'll have.
- 56:39Speaker 3: Cut ma.
- 56:43Speaker 1: Wait, can I say something to do?
- 56:44Speaker 2: You know?
- 56:44Speaker 1: It would be a great episode with the two on
- 56:47Speaker 1: our show? Would be about so many people are interested
- 56:50Speaker 1: in starting a podcast and like how do you break
- 56:52Speaker 1: in in the history of and you guys were why.
- 56:55Speaker 7: Are you laughing? People starting podcasts?
- 57:00Speaker 2: Know?
- 57:01Speaker 4: To me, there there could there could be not enough podcasts.
- 57:04Speaker 4: I really feel more podcasts the better. Like our listeners
- 57:07Speaker 4: are tried, they are sticking with us and they'll go
- 57:10Speaker 4: with other things, but they're there.
- 57:12Speaker 1: There's enough time, there's nothing but time. But wouldn't that
- 57:15Speaker 1: be a cute episode. Don't you feel like people want
- 57:19Speaker 1: to do I.
- 57:19Speaker 5: Would love to do a podcast. I just feel like
- 57:21Speaker 5: I don't know if we'd have.
- 57:22Speaker 2: Like Donia doesn't take our podcast. She thinks that she
- 57:25Speaker 2: we had guests last week and she goes, oh, like basically,
- 57:29Speaker 2: why why did y'all choose to be on our podcast?
- 57:31Speaker 3: Like Dona we have been.
- 57:34Speaker 5: And James Lafferty and they had no other.
- 57:36Speaker 1: Podcast award winning, win a lot of awards.
- 57:41Speaker 5: We want to People's Choice, the word.
- 57:42Speaker 1: Wow, they're huge.
- 57:43Speaker 7: We got to get in on this race.
- 57:45Speaker 8: I know.
- 57:45Speaker 1: But they were the o G. So that's what I'm saying,
- 57:48Speaker 1: I think that want to such a good episode because
- 57:51Speaker 1: you could talk about like how like when did they
- 57:53Speaker 1: notice they made it, how does it work? Like? I
- 57:55Speaker 1: think people are so interested in the business side of it.
- 57:59Speaker 5: That's what I'm saying.
- 58:00Speaker 3: We love to come on your podcast. We'd love to come.
- 58:03Speaker 1: I have to come on your podcast where you rescue
